All my homies hate Clovis from Clone Wars.
In fact, Rush Clovis who? That name doesn't ring a bell, can't be canon? Must be from some fanfic, right? Right?
In fact, i need more mutuals who hate Clovis, reblog if you would kick him at least once.

Characters
Princess Lovisa Amidala, the younger daughter of King Ruwee and Queen Jobal, and the sister of Princess Padme Amidala, the heir of Naboo.
Or, Lovisa Amidala, otherwise known as the rebel princess.
The Princess who had no care for her title or reign, spent her free time sneaking out and partying, or being forced into lessons, by her tutors, whilst her older sister dealt with her own duties.
But when both princesses lives are threatened, and a looming threat shadows over Naboo, The king is forced to hire the help of the Jedi, a special force in the kingdom, to find this danger, and to protect his kin, for the good of their country.
Anakin Skywalker, was ecstatic for the important mission, alongside his Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, but when he soon realises that his role is to babysit two princesses, in the safety of a hidden location, he is not thrilled, it doesn't help when the latter of the two, takes pleasure in making his job very much harder.
But as friendships rekindle, and sparks fly, The princess and the Jedi find themselves falling into something they shouldn’t, love.

Rush Clovis was not, by any means, the injured party in his fight with Anakin Skywalker! He was forcing Padme to kiss him, and Anakin was just defending her! And, since you defend Clovis after he attempted such a heinous act of sexual violence against a woman, you don’t deserve to call yourself a woman! You Kenobists disgust me to my very soul!
Oh wow. Gee whirlickers. I wonder which of Anakin Skywalker’s anal suppositories inserted this in my mailbox. The writing style is sooooooo unidentifiable. Whatever shall I do.
In case you couldn’t tell (and knowing you, Domina…you can’t), that last paragraph was blatant sarcasm.
The last I checked, it was more than two years ago that this particular argument ended, and there hasn’t been hide nor hair of you seen in the Star Wars fandom since Rings of Power came out. Is the LotR fandom no longer responding to your incessant drama-mongering, Your Highness? Is that why you’re trudging up ancient history in a fandom so far beneath your standards as Star Wars?
Well, Your Worship, I’ll bite, just this one time. I have never, not even once, asserted that Rush Clovis was the injured party in that fight. I have only ever said that Anakin Skywalker is ALSO not the injured party.
The injured party is Padmé Amidala. Who was nearly kissed against her will (and yes, that is tantamount to attempted sexual assault). Who was sure that her beloved husband would come to her defense and stop the assault…only to have Anakin look her in the eye with disgust and say, “YOU have NO say in this!”
Anakin was not fighting to protect Padmé. He was trying to punish her, for something that was not her fault.
He SHOULD have defended her, yes, but instead he treated her like a cheater and a traitor, AND put her mission in considerable jeopardy. If Anakin had kept his head and non-violently escorted Clovis out of the apartment after the kiss was broken, Clovis might have believed Padmé’s argument that she and Anakin were just friends. Instead, he fell for Clovis’s obvious bait into a fight, which told Clovis all he needed to know: that Padmé was in love with someone else, and that she was only dating Clovis to spy on him. And that forced Clovis to accelerate his plans against the Republic, leading to him desperately putting a gun to Padmé’s head the very next episode.
Anakin did not defend Padmè. All he accomplished by beating the shit out of Clovis was putting Padmé in more danger. And if I had been Padmé, I’d have dumped his ass permanently.
That’s my last word on the matter. Now fuck off and get a paying job, Domina, if you can.

Behind Closed Doors
Dealing with Senator Clovis continues to be a petty trial, and Padmé takes her concerns to a new battlefield.

Anakin did not realize Clovis was forcing himself on Padme. He said later that he only saw the two of them “kissing.” He also glared at Padme and said she had “no say in this” when she asked him to stop the fight. Clovis was definitely an unredeemable asshole, but Anakin was not defending Padme’s honor. He was trying to punish her for cheating on him.
Nobody is sympathetic to Clovis; we’re sympathetic to PADME, whose husband didn’t even acknowledge the hardship she was experiencing, and even put her mission (which he knew about) in jeopardy because he couldn’t control himself.
I disagree given I have seen some posts talking about Clovis being some kind of pro-feminist character, I know it´s because many hate Anakin but that´s why I felt the need to make the post about Clovis, I believe he is a boring character in general but I wanted to explore the context of his appareances in Clone Wars.
Tumblr media
How was Anakin trying to punish Padmé exactly?
Punish her by beating the guy who was trying to kiss her agaisn´t her will which actually counts as sexual assault?
by stopping beating Clovis when Padmé asked him?
by leaving her alone and in fact breaking their relationship when she said she wanted to end their marriage?
I guess we just very have different perspectives on what "punishment" means
Anakin admited it was wrong to beat Clovis and I also believe he feel bad more because he stopped her "investigation"even when it was going wrong if she could not stop Clovis from taking advantage of her, she certainly wasn´t in control of the situation when Anakin found them.
I personally believe Clovis deserved no less but well I guess for some fans Anakin must be in the wrong no matter the circunstances and that´s ok, fandom is allowed to be biased, just don´t get on my case when I notice the double standard.
I get you point about the problems on Anakin and Padmé relationship but I disagree with it, in fact that´s why I said I understand many fans for hating Anakin on many things, including his relationship with Padmé and that some fans see this scene as a preview of their confrontation on Mustafar and that´s why some fans glaringly ignore Clovis trying to force himself on Padme but the whole point of the scene between Anakin and Padme on Mustafar is the fact Anakin ISNT LIKE THAT, Anakin was in the middle of a breakdown and full on the darkside on Mustafar, that´s not how he behaves, that´s not himself, that´s him losing himself to the darkside, the whole point Lucas wanted to make on Mustafar was the fact Anakin wasn´t like that, he wasn´t "Anakin" anymore, he was Vader now and that´s why Padme recognizes this and tells him he is going on a path she can´t follow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is also why Anakin feel horrified after beating Clovis, not for defending Padmé but for his violence and that´s also why he agreed to end their marriage recognizing Padmé didn´t feel secure in their relationship anymore and he left her alone, because guess what? he actually cares about his wife, so he listens to her when she says their relationship is over and didn´t even try to argue with her.
Tumblr media
But I guess is easier to paint Anakin as an evil guy on all circunstances. I get it truly but this doesn´t mean I won´t notice when fandom ignores context to suit their biased view on Anakin.

besides the Everything of the s6 clovis arc it undermines padmé’s insanity completely. the whole point is that anidala are madly, irrationally in doomed love with each other. that’s why rots goes the way it does & padmé stupidly sticks with him til the end. making her emotionally intelligent in order to make the characters more ‘relatable’ just tells me that david felony missed the entire point of Two Fucked Up People In A Fucked Up Situation In Fucked Up Love

Beat him up Anakin
Apparently I'm not allowed within 1000 feet of him anymore. Because according to a report someone anonymous made about me, I had "murder in my eyes" and I looked like "I was psychotic"
