Hey all -- @inconveniently-discorporated here. Still setting this up as a blog with links and suchlike. I'll pretty up this post at some point and it'll be pinned at the top for easy access to tags and whatnot.

Suffice to say, this blog will contain spoilers (tagged "#gos2 spoilers") as it's mostly clues and hints as to what may be going on this season, and theories for the next and final season. I'll be gathering different theories, evidence/arguments for AND against each theory, little bits of loose threads, themes, mentioned books, resources, etc.

So, I've been thinking at how Yuichiro would always be skeptical around the reader when it comes to Muichiro.

I was wondering if you can make a scene wherein the reader is in love with Yuichiro but she couldn't approach him directly so she approaches the younger sibling instead for advices. Yuichiro also likes the reader but hadn't confessed because he always sees her with his twin so he thought the reader liked Muichiro.

As of now, I have officially opened requests for Yuichiro x Reader. However, there have been a few changes regarding the request process. For more information, please refer to my pinned post.

Yuichiro Tokito, with his cold exterior and sharp tongue, was often perceived as arrogant and stuck-up by those around him. In contrast, his younger twin, Muichiro, displayed a gentler and caring nature towards others, despite also treating them coldly. Yuichiro's stern and firm demeanor made it difficult for other demon slayers to approach him, further isolating him from his peers.

Deep down, Yuichiro couldn't help but feel envious of his younger twin. In his thoughts, Muichiro seemed to be the "chosen one" because he had a natural ability to connect with others on a deeper level. This ability allowed Muichiro to form stronger bonds and relationships, and it bothered Yuichiro that he himself struggled in that aspect.

What intensified Yuichiro's envy was witnessing Muichiro's connection with Y/n. Seeing his younger twin form a close bond with someone, especially someone that Yuichiro had feelings for, it stirred up complex emotions within him. He longed to experience the same depth of connection and closeness with Y/n but found it difficult due to his own personality traits and the walls he had built around himself.

One day, after completing his designated mission, Yuichiro returned to the familiar grounds of their estate and saw Y/n and Muichiro engaged in lighthearted conversation, their laughter filling the air. It was a sight that both warmed his heart and fueled his envy. He stood there for a moment, his ears seemingly blocking out all other sounds except for Y/n's laughter, which echoed in his mind.

Muichiro caught sight of his twin standing in the distance, a warm smile gracing his lips. "Welcome back, Nii-san," he greeted.

Caught off guard by Muichiro's greeting, Yuichiro snapped back to reality and managed a faint smile in response. He stepped closer, trying to conceal the mixed emotions swirling within him. "Thanks," he replied, his voice betraying a hint of his usual aloofness. "How was your day, Muichiro?"

Muichiro's smile widened, his eyes reflecting genuine warmth. "It was good," he said.

“Hi, Yuichiro-kun.” Y/n greeted him with a warm smile and a friendly wave, Yuichiro felt a flutter in his heart. It was the first time he would engage in a conversation with Y/n, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness.

“Hey, what are you even doing here?” However, when Yuichiro spoke, his words came out straight and firm, unintentionally carrying a tone that he feared might have come off as stern. He slightly frowned his brows, a sign of his self-criticism. Internally, he cursed himself for potentially making Y/n uncomfortable with his brusque manner.

But when he looked at Y/n, her smile remained intact, seemingly unfazed by his initial tone. It puzzled him, but at the same time, it sparked a sense of curiosity within him. Could it be that Y/n saw beyond his cold exterior and understood his underlying intentions?

“Oh, nothing. I was just asking Mui something.” Y/n replied, scratching the back of her head, a touch of embarrassment evident in her actions.

The pang of jealousy gripped Yuichiro's chest tightly, intensifying the envy he felt towards his younger twin. It was clear to him now that Y/n and Muichiro shared a close bond, evident by the familiarity they had developed, even down to using a nickname.

The jealousy gnawed at him, creating a bitter taste in his mouth, but he fought to suppress those negative emotions.

Taking a deep breath, Yuichiro mustered a small smile, despite the envy still lingering within him. "I see," he replied, his voice betraying a hint of disappointment that he hoped went unnoticed. "Well, it's good to see the two of you getting along so well." His voice laced with bittersweet tone.

"I'll rest for now." Feeling the weight of his emotions, Yuichiro excused himself, retreating back to their estate.

Muichiro couldn't help but notice the underlying disappointment in the tone of his older twin, a glint of recognition in his orbs. However, Muichiro chose not to address it.

Y/n, on the other hand, seemed oblivious to the subtle shift in Yuichiro's demeanor, unaware of the jealousy that brewed within him. As Yuichiro made his way back to the estate, he couldn't shake off the lingering feeling of longing and envy that had intensified during their interaction.

Little did he know, Y/n had prepared a delightful surprise for him. Several days later, as Yuichiro made his way back to their estate, he spotted Y/n sitting alone on the estate porch.

The sight of her immediately brought a mix of anticipation and curiosity. He had not expected to find her there, and he wondered what could have prompted her to stay there.

“Y/n.” He called out her name, Y/n turned towards him, her surprise evident on her face. Yet, her smile remained, radiating warmth that reached deep within Yuichiro's heart.

Closing the distance between them, Yuichiro approached Y/n, his gaze fixated on her. "What brings you here?" he asked, his voice softer than usual. There was a flicker of curiosity in his eyes, eager to discover the reason behind Y/n's unexpected presence.

His disappointment was palpable as he immediately answered his own question, assuming. "Ah, were you waiting for Muichiro?" He chided himself internally for allowing his expectations to rise.

Y/n's smile faltered slightly, and she shook her head. "No, actually," she replied softly, her gaze meeting Yuichiro's. "I was waiting for you."

Surprised by her response, he asked. "Me?" His voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. He couldn't help but wonder why Y/n would choose to wait for him when she seemed to have a closer connection with Muichiro.

Y/n's smile regained its full strength, reassuring Yuichiro of her sincerity. "Yes, you," she affirmed, her voice gentle and warm.

Yuichiro's heart swelled with a blend of surprise and gratitude, and he nodded as he took a seat beside her. He didn't want to raise his hopes too high so he mustered the courage to inquire a bold question.

"Y/n, do you like Muichiro?" Yuichiro's question hung in the air, the vulnerability and curiosity in his eyes bared for Y/n to see.

"What makes you say that?" Y/n's raised eyebrow and her probing stare indicated her surprise at his question. It was clear that she hadn't anticipated such a direct inquiry.

"Well," Yuichiro began, his voice steady but tinged with a touch of hesitation, "I've noticed how close you and Muichiro have become. The way you laugh together, the ease in your conversations... It made me wonder if there's something more between you two."

Y/n blinked, processing his words, before bursting into laughter. Her sudden outburst took Yuichiro aback for a moment. Her unexpected reaction left him questioning his own words and intentions, uncertain of what he had missed or misunderstood.

Y/n managed to stifle her laughter; her smile lingering as she composed herself. She looked at Yuichiro with a playful glimmer in her eyes. "I'm sorry," she said, still chuckling softly. "It's just... what you said, about me and Muichiro, it's not what it looked like at all."

Yuichiro's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to make sense of Y/n's words. "Then what did it look like?" he asked, his tone a mix of confusion and curiosity.

“I was asking advices!” Y/n finally said in between her laughs.

“Advices on what?” He questioned.

“On you.”

Yuichiro blinked, his confusion deepening at Y/n's words. He couldn't fathom why Y/n would seek advice about him from Muichiro, and it only added to his growing perplexity.

"On me?" Yuichiro repeated, his voice laced with surprise. "Why would you ask Muichiro for advice about me?"

Y/n's laughter subsided, and she regarded Yuichiro with a gentle expression. "It's because I like you," she explained, "that's why I wanted to learn how to interact with you better."

Yuichiro's breath caught in his throat as Y/n's words hung in the air. The weight of her admission, coupled with the sincerity in her eyes, caused his heart to race. It was a revelation he hadn't anticipated, and it left him momentarily speechless.

The world seemed to stand still for a moment as he absorbed the weight and meaning behind her confession.

As Y/n's kasugai crow landed and interrupted their heartfelt moment, assigning her to a mission, Yuichiro found himself watching her as she stood up, her gaze meeting his, and he couldn't help but feel a tinge of embarrassment at the situation. His cheeks flushed with color, a stark contrast to his usual composed demeanor.

Y/n couldn't help but giggle at the sight of Yuichiro's embarrassed expression. It was a side of him that she hadn't seen before, and it brought a lightheartedness to the moment. She had unintentionally surprised him, which Muichiro had mentioned before as something that froze him in place.

As an idea popped into Y/n's head, she made a mental note to apologize to him for this surprise once she returned. Swiftly leaning towards Yuichiro, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her heart racing with anticipation. In a moment of boldness, she pressed a gentle kiss onto his cheek.

Yuichiro froze, his eyes widening in surprise and his cheeks reddening even further. The soft touch of Y/n's lips on his skin sent a jolt through his entire being, his mind momentarily blank as his heart raced in his chest. It was an unexpected gesture, one that caught him completely off guard.

'Pfft. I broke him.' Y/n thought to herself, she couldn't help but find his reaction amusing. She stifled a laugh, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips. Seeing Yuichiro, typically composed and guarded, rendered speechless and motionless.

“I’ll see you later, Yuichiro~” Y/n playfully remarked, leaving him in that state of bewilderment.

As Yuichiro sat there, his cheeks flushed with a maddening blush and a delighted grin threatening to break through, he couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness and anticipation. He covered his mouth, suppressing his giddy reaction, but his eyes sparkled with an undeniable joy.

Still caught in the aftermath of their interaction, Yuichiro whispered to himself, "I'll see you later too, Y/n. And I can't wait."

Things I write: I typically favor M allergies, but do write F/NB characters, colds, and fevers too (equal snz rights bc snz is snz)! I eat up hurt/comfort, so whump and very minor injury are often applicable to my stories. Again, keep an eye out for the TWs if you have concerns!

Things I DON’T write: I’m NOT an emeto person at all (I’m phobic IRL), but personally won’t turn away if it’s mentioned in a fic. You’ll never see a full fic from me where emeto is central to the story, but it could be mentioned (check TWs to be safe). I am also NOT into writing about real people or making furry content (sorry)! I’m self-conscious about writing OOC, so I don’t typically write characters from series I haven’t seen or am at least vaguely familiar with.

FFXIV Write Entry #21: Ashes

Prompt: grave || Master Post || On AO3

A/N: Hello, friends. It's time for some tonal whiplash. In the second half of this fill, these WARNINGS APPLY: references to war and mass casualties; disrespectful treatment of the dead.

“Suppose if you have to say one nice thing about fucking Gaius van Baelsar,” Eydis said in a low growl, “it’s that he insisted his bureaucrats keep track of everything.”

Synnove grunted, arms crossed and shoulders hunched in on herself, staring warily out before them. Tyr sat between them, ears pinned back flat to his head.

I don’t like this place, he boofed.

They were south of Ala Mhigo, on one of the plateaus that had once been used for religious rites. The shrine to Rhalgr that had existed here, once, had been razed during the Mad King’s time, as had the smaller one to his daughter Halone. It had been left empty, bare and open to storms and sky, ever since.

Except for one thing.

Eydis sighed, long and slow and tired, and lowered herself to sit cross-legged on the ground. Synnove joined her, and Tyr promptly loafed.

Together, the cousins took out various items from their packs: a brazier, carefully; sticks of incense; two flat honey cakes; a bottle of arak; five cups, never used, made of unglazed ceramic. Eydis dumped charcoal into the brazier, and Synnove lit it with a snap of her fingers, then both of them lit the incense sticks with the brazier’s new crackling flame before burying the ends of each stick into the ground. Tyr unloafed just long enough to pat the ground once, soft as a feather, and the earth sealed tight around each incense stick.

Synnove uncorked the arak, and poured a dram into each of the little ceramic cups. As she did that, Eydis broke one honey cake into quarters: one quarter she tossed out onto the open plateau, the other three into the brazier. She did the same with the second, humming all the while.

One cup in front of Eydis, one in front of Synnove, one in front of Tyr, and the other two were set within the coals and broken honey cakes of the brazier. Almost immediately, the arak in the last two cups began to sizzle.

Synnove wrapped her arms around Tyr’s neck and rested her cheek on top of his head. Tyr snuggled close and began his deep, bone-rattling purr. Eydis leaned back on her hands, watching the smoke from the incense and brazier twist and curl as it rose into the growing gloom of dusk.

“Will you tell Ma about this?” Eydis said, when half the arak in the brazier cups had steamed away.

Synnove let out a slow breath. “If she asks directly, yes,” she said. “Otherwise…no.”

Eydis nodded, humming in approval, and they fell back into easy silence.

When the last of the arak had joined the incense and the strongest smell that lingered was honey, Eydis and Synnove picked up their cups and tossed back the arak in them. Tyr lapped at what was in his cup, making a face, but finishing it anyway.

The coals with the ashen remains of the honey cakes and used incense and cups—all five—were laid in a shallow hole that Tyr dug. The remaining arak in the bottle was poured over the detritus, the bottle then shattered to join it all, and finally it was all covered and packed down. The brazier was cleaned and packed away.

And then Eydis and Synnove and Tyr left. They did not look back.

“I hate burial detail.”

Vultures circled, bodies rotted, and fucking G’atoh oen Potitus bitched about every work detail he was on. Dantro rolled his eyes. He’d told the miqo’te to shut up multiple times already, no use wasting any more breath on it.

At least they were nearly done.

He hauled himself up into the cart, stomping to the back to grab the last body under its armpits and dragging it backwards. Always so efficient, the Black Wolf’s war machine: Ala Mhigo hadn’t been wearing Garlean tri-color even a day before the dead were being pulled off the streets and the blood and soot being washed away. Garlean officers, of course, were put in cold storage and sent back to Garlemald; the rank-and-file were either sent home (Garleans) or buried in hastily dug soldiers’ cemeteries side by side (everyone else), though the latter was still accompanied by formal eulogies and a soulless ceremony the Black Wolf would pontificate at.

The enemy dead got large pits made by warmachina, dug miles away from where they’d been slaughtered so they wouldn’t contaminate the water their conquerors would drink.

Dantro reached the edge of the cart, hopped down, and then hauled the body after him, long inured to the metal and meat thunk of dead weight hitting the ground. One step, second step, edge of the pit. Drop the armpits, step to the side, plant his boot into the side, and push the corpse into the pit.

This one landed face up, the noon sun catching a glint of a buckle hammered into the shape of a wolf’s head on leather armor. Gold eyes on both the wolf and the corpse’s face stared sightlessly into the sky.

Dantro noted the bullet between its eyes and grunted. At least he’d gone quick. “Consider yourself lucky,” he muttered. “You won’t have to see this new world they’re trying to build.”

G’atoh dropped the last body from the cart he’d been working on and it shifted the pile in this spot; the corpse Dantro had pushed in slid to the side, revealing another one of similar coloring: dark skin, red hair, gold eyes. A silver wolf on his armor, too. Maybe an uncle, or father. Poor bastards.

He pounded on the back of the cart, and it began to move back towards the city for another load. Dantro would be stuck here, too, until nightfall. But better burial detail than clearing the city of any remaining insurgents. Stiffs couldn’t knife you in the back.

Before he moved away, he paused. Turned back to the edge of the pit, looking down. He pushed the visor of his helm up, rolling his neck—and spat.

To anyone watching, it looked like derision, contempt for the dead; not unusual, especially from Garleans, especially when the Black Wolf couldn’t see. But in Dalmasca, giving water to the dead was one of the few things Dantro’s people had left after the Garleans stripped them of their gods and their pride. It was all he could do now, for a people about to have the same done to them.

Dantro pulled his visor back down and walked away to report to the beancounters keeping meticulous track of the number of bodies and where in the city they’d come from. As he did, he saw the flamethrower crews coming forward. Huh, maybe he could be back in his bunk at a reasonable hour, then, if they weren’t going to add more to the pile.

High above, vultures circled. And then the dead burned.

TV-unit serials in the setting for my fics

(Link to my fics is in my pinned post.) I'm not setting out to create an AU; my fics are meant to be canon-compliant in the sense that 'DFB never says it can't happen this way'. I'm just having fun making up extra details that probably won't be covered in canon.

Most TVs have 4-digit serials, which are procedurally-generated. Serials below 4 digits are manually assigned.

1-digit serials:

0001: The Imperator (the term I use for the Matriarchs in my fics)

0002: The Titan

These would be rendered verbally as 'triple-zero-one' and 'triple-zero-two'. These two units very rarely need to reference their serials because of their status; everyone already knows who they are.

Serials 0003 to 0009 are currently unused.

2-digit serials:

Currently Polycephaly has the only 2-digit serial: 0010, rendered verbally as 'double-zero-ten'. Again, Polycephaly rarely has cause to refer to themself by serial. Being the only large unit in their faction makes them pretty distinctive.

Serials 0011 to 0099 are currently unused.

3-digit serials:

4-digit serials:

As used by standard TV-units.

While it is physically possible to build a TV shell, load a new software brain into it and power it on, this is not recommended and not done. A unit built in such a way would likely be forever a stimulus-response machine rather than developing full self-awareness or much of a personality, would likely have poor control over its screen powers, and would not necessarily even be loyal to its own faction.

Instead, units are 'born' as software in server farms called 'creches', where they start off as simple programs and gradually bootstrap themselves into self-awareness, moving onto simulated training until they're ready to be uploaded into actual hardware bodies. In this way, you end up with a unit with a proper theory of mind and personality, that's loyal to its faction.

(I am assuming the above is also true for Cameras and Speakers, but I haven't explored this in my fics. I think the TVs must take longer to create given that there are comparatively few of them, perhaps because they have all their screen and teleport powers to master before they can be allowed to let loose with a real body.)

The 4 digits are allocated as follows:

Corresponds to the creche (server farm) number.

Random digit.

Corresponds to the day of the month of activation (placed into a hardware body).

Corresponds to the server number within the creche.

Cygnus, for example, has the serial 5022 (rendered verbally as Fifty-Twenty-Two). This tells us they were generated in server 2 within creche 5, and were activated on a day ending in 2 (the 02nd, 12th or 22nd). The zero is just a random identifier to distinguish them from any other TVs that happened to be generated on the same day from the exact same server. (This has yet to happen in practice. It's rare for more than 1 TV to come into existence on the same day. Plus, most of the nascent softwares will simply error out of existence rather than become sentient.)

The Titan's chief engineer has the serial 1668 (Sixteen-Sixty-Eight), and the Titan themself had the serial 1791 (Seventeen-Ninety-One) when they were a normal pre-Titan unit. This tells us that both the Titan and its main engineer were generated in the same server farm (1), but on different servers.

(I've no idea what system the Cameras and Speakers use. I'm inclined to think the Cameras just have sequential serials because they're squares like that.)

The Imperator's (TV Matriarch's) two bodyguards have the serials 1153 and 1566, but they are a rare exception, as these aren't their original serials. There were 16 candidates for being remade into the Titan, and the two bodyguards were 2 such candidates. All the candidates had their serials expunged and new ones allocated, so that no-one (besides the chief engineer and the Titan themself) would know which candidate had become the Titan. The two bodyguards have hypothetical serials (as do the other 13 candidates that were considered for Titanhood).

Feel free to steal any parts of this you like for your own OCs/fics; I don't own the concept of allocating numbers.

So, finally. What is really going on here? I figured I’d save the longest part of the post for last. All in all, this is still Twisted Wonderland as its canon stands, only with more development on RSA. By that I mean these characters coexist at the same time as our canon cast, so..a Pomefiore character of mine like Sergei would never be housewarden or vice for example, since Rook and Vil are the current dorm leads. Contrarily, I’ve been developing dorms and a visual to flesh out Royal sword Academy instead, as a treat. It was so barebones on the bottom of the island that I kind of took a pity towards it, put my hatred towards Neige aside, and started to develop the dorms, etcetera. I’ve had some help from my friends Cater and Azul, and plenty of school friends tend to help with uniform design and feedback / advice, so it’s definitely not a project I work without tips on, though all the art is mine. I don’t think I’d have gotten this far without them.

TLDR; All of my characters exist in the same timeline as the main cast. They don’t necessarily overlap in story much, and I have my own characters lives simply coexisting in the same world, that’s all. I kind of scrapped Neige & Chenya for this … and don’t plan on adding them back … but that’s fine. This is a personal project for myself and my friends that I’ll be slowly chipping at in time, I’m not too sure what else to say about it! I’ll enable questions if anyone has them, but feel free to comment any inquiries as well.

— Story wise, settings don’t include much beyond Sages island, minus the dorms (which will be in the visuals link soon). But there is one Fanon town I made, of which a chunk of my characters derive of. I coined it Hallow Village, (or what tourists call Pumpkin Valley), as a blaring nod to TNMBC. You’ll see that a handful of ocs have Hallow Village as their homeland! I’ll have art on it soon. For now, it’s an old village with small town “southern hospitality” of sorts, with a smaller population, though notorious for becoming a tourist sensation during October. Adjacent the true film, the village is run by a mayor (though more so his son…Jack in the film). I like to think the town was once Halloween town, though the monster populous slowly died out as outsiders moved in and carried stigma. Given blot monsters, and the sort. Human + monster tension caused divide until most of all the ghouls themselves left. Modern residents aren’t so proud of that history, and hold a respect towards monsters now. (In other words, Grimm would have a fan club if they were canon). A lot of the residents are equally passionate for Halloween & October since it’s cultural to the town history, so a lot of them end up in Nightingshire if attending RSA. That’s the only outsider location I’ve got! All the actual dorm info is in the documents, I won’t divulge here.

Blot Elassia. / 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘌𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘢. As of current, the only oc I have with BE is Sergei. But what is it?

✶ Elassia — noun — “E-LAE-shia” · Specifically in regards to a mages magic pool, something within is functioning below the standard level. (I.e, too slowly).

Hence, Blot Elassia is an uncommon, though genetic disability that results in a mages ability to burn blot being far slower than what is necessary. This slower build and more constant slow-burn results in chest pain and chronic fatigue, which worsens with increased activity and magic use, and will subside with less of the aforementioned instigators. Excessive activity and magic use may hinder those with B.E and leave them physically unable to function as able bodied people would, until their symptoms flaring up manage to subside through proper care and aid. With age, especially, walking / mobility aids are advised for those to preserve their energy. Their bodies are utilizing every bit of the energy they have to burn blot.

Individuals with B.E are more highly susceptible to overblot.

Rest and maintenance of normal needs is helpful, but not a cure. To stop using magic entirely will slow the exhaustion of the mages body extensively, and is commonly recommend for those who decline medical aid. Alternatively, there is medication to help boost the magic pools ability to burn blot (also not a cure). The only known, official “cure,” is surgical treatment to the magic pool. This surgery has a high risk rate, and problems could potentially resurface.

Correction Course: What to Expect in SRBA Reloaded!

It took me a long time to get this post about since life kicked me in the pants, but as promised, I am going to make a full post addressing the criticisms leveled at SRBA and what will be changed in the remastered edition, Super Readers’ Biggest Adventure Reloaded.

Since I’m not someone who can’t learn from her mistakes, I’ll start off with the valid criticisms to my story, Super Readers’ Biggest Adventure, which I have addressed with others who’ve read the story in some private messages (those who read this, you know who you are ^^)

1. The religious themes. I’m no less religious than I was when I first started, but going back I admit that the Christian themes were way, WAY overused here. I still laugh/cringe over the Jesus part myself, haha. I thought I was doing something cool there, but man. I really DID go overboard, and in all honesty, it wasn’t necessary. For those who pointed it out, I take full responsibility for it, and apologize for that. Later installments in the Gaiden series do not have this, though, with Darkness Rewrite being the only exception due to Prince Charming’s throwaway line. Reloaded does have a few metaphors/archetypes for several characters in the Bible (ie. Jeremiah is a blend of both David and Paul, while Chaos’ original character is supposed to mirror Saul before his fall from grace) and some parallels to Scripture, but I definitely won’t go crazy with that like I did in the original.

2. The worldbuilding/lore. For context, I wrote SRBA when I was in high school. So the quality of the writing is…much to be desired. I admit, I had trouble keeping track of the world building and lore for a while, and often when I was adding things into the Gaiden series, it was due to multiple, MULTIPLE rereads to make sure that I wasn’t retroactively retconning everything I wrote back then. As it was my first time working on detailing a large world, and since I made up a lot of things on the fly, a lot of things didn’t make sense back then. I’ve long since learned a lot about how to world build properly and am putting that into effect with the remaster, retconning and adding a few things—I wouldn’t call myself a master, but I’m not a beginner like I was before. While I don’t hate the lore that I created for it, there are things that could’ve been explained better. There are some things that could’ve been shown earlier in the story rather than in the throes of action. There are a few things that could be removed (not sure where I was going with the Summoning Pin element, honestly). There are some things that could’ve been added (shouldn’t the Fairytale World been taken over ages ago?). This is one of the main reasons I tapped this story to get a complete overhaul in the form of Reloaded, where I plan to change everything that was wrong with the original story. As for all the magical swords/Device ripoffs, they were supposed to be based off of Lyrical Nanoha’s Devices, but that wasn’t made clear. I also put in references to Pretty Cure/Sailor Moon in regard to both Muse and Princess Presto, since they’re like the magical girls of the team. I do apologize for that ^^;

Also, being a Black woman myself, there’s gonna be more representation for BIPOC/women. It was a weak point in the original story (as the only other OC whose family gets prominence, Muse, is of Irish/Scottish descent), but I’m gonna rectify that. I’ve decided to include Power Paige in Reloaded, as well as a few other characters, too. I didn’t have a lot of confidence in describing appearances back then, much less scenes, and I realized recently that in trying to create a good descriptor for one of my OCs, I ended up unintentionally offending someone. And at the time of writing the original story, I had no idea that Red was Jewish (for context, I wrote the story when the original Woofster episodes aired, and didn’t follow the series for a while until 2016, when the last few episodes were airing). So, yeah, going forward, we’re not having any stereotypes for BIPOC, period! I’m planning on revising the first chapter of Darkness Rewrite to get rid of that descriptor for Ethan, because, like you said, it was a weird longer way to say someone had darker skin. As someone who interacts with people of various cultures, and makes sure to include that in my own stories, I admit, I dropped the ball here. But I’m gonna fix that! Names were also a big thing that I struggled with. I’ll correct the names for the families of the Super Readers’ families (AKA. The ones who weren’t properly named in the series) soon.

3. Character Development, Part 1: The Super Readers. As much as I like the Super Readers, I didn’t really give them proper character development, with Wonder Red and Super Why being the most egregious. I’d say the character that I (mostly) nailed in the original was Alpha Pig, while the character who got the worst end of the stick was Wonder Red, who was kinda reduced to a hotheaded Tsundere (and I did kinda keep up that energy in the recent entry, which I’m gonna correct in the following chapters!). Whyatt wasn’t terrible, but he was pretty blasé in comparison to the others—he was just there to be the leader and that’s it. Rewatching the series has given me a better idea on where to go with accurately portraying the characters, and of course, that’s gonna be accurately represented in the remaster.

Oh, and while I’m on the topic, the other villagers will get better character portrayals too. Little Boy Blue was demonized pretty early on, to where even I felt bad for him rereading the story.

4. Character Development, Part 2: The OCs. I hyped Muse up a lot during the introductory chapters, but nowadays I really dislike her character. Her character was very much underutilized and underdeveloped. I had more fun writing about the Super Readers and the history about her country rather than her, since they were way more interesting. Her personality is gonna get a complete overhaul in the remastered version, and she and the Evil Reader/Jackson will definitely get better character development and arcs that flesh out their characters.

On the topic of the Evil Reader/Jackson and Lexicon, their “redemption arcs” were rushed and admittedly terrible. Well, Lexicon’s was slightly better than Jackson’s, but I agree that justice wasn’t served to the Super Readers or the victims they hurt in the story proper. They can basically be summed up as “my past sucked and it’s the defining characteristic of who I am, but I’m discarding as of today, please forget the people I’ve killed!” Which I agree is a pretty toxic way of achieving redemption, and I recognize and apologize for that. I did do this on purpose to have them go through a “trial by fire” where they learn that forgiveness for their actions isn’t immediately earned—quite a few characters in the Gaiden series (and even in Chaos’ Revenge) do not forgive or let Jackson or Lexicon off the hook, but that’s not implied in the first story. That’ll definitely be fixed moving forward, as seen below.

I’m also very unsatisfied with Jackson/The Evil Reader’s character. I intended for him to be straight evil and then defeated, until I decided that I’d do a redemption arc for him, and did one that was ripped straight off of an anime. Or, more specifically, a movie. I was originally going for an Anakin Skywalker kind of thing, and I realized that I pulled it off badly. I remember being quite proud of his backstory when I wrote it. Now, though? Ugh. I’m going to be redoing his entire story, plus his history with his two best friends as well, in the remastered version.

Jeremiah, naturally, isn’t gonna be a Gary Stu like he was in the original fic. He does have his own flaws, which are shown later on down the road, but honestly should’ve been shown before the Gaiden series. He also should’ve stepped in way earlier, especially when the Evil Reader’s true nature as Chaos was starting to be revealed (which ties into how the darker themes are gonna be handled). All of this are gonna be handled appropriately in the remastered version.

5. Way less shock value. Some scenes (such as the Pig’s brother slapping him “to his senses” scene) were added for shock value. I know now that this is NOT good writing, especially when it goes against the characters’ canon natures. Plus, having a shocking scene after a shocking scene can really, REALLY get annoying after a while.

6. The Whyatt/Red romance. While it was one of the “selling points” of the original story, it was cheesy. It’s one of the things that I didn’t like about the original because it felt rushed (I also wrote a romance fic alongside this way back when, so I don’t really have an excuse!). I’ve already made like seven pages of notes for their romance in the remastered version, where their friendship is showcased as well, and how it’s not just one-sided on Red’s end.

7. Last but not least, the mature themes. The original SRBA got pretty gritty at times—from more physical violence, to the villains possessing/enslaving the villagers, to the horrors of war, to characters outright dying/getting killed, to the implications of genocide. And then, there’s the reveal in the Gaiden verse that Chaos is a predator. A lot of the Super Readers’ reactions/trauma to the events that happened in the original were pretty understated, I can concur with that. There are two chapters and a few moments that do address their worry, terror and fear about losing everything they hold dear…and that’s it. If I’m being totally honest, those aren’t enough. To say nothing of the crap they learned about the Evil Reader in chapter 17. That’ll get rectified in the remaster as well.

Now, I’ll finish this by explaining that I do write darker subjects in my writings. Those things do include, among other things, rape, SA, objectification/sexualization, suicide, violence (of several forms) and—if my Western series Blazin’ Trails is to go by—animal abuse, racism and slavery. I’ll make this abundantly clear: I don’t have a sick fascination with these things, and I do not advocate for any of these horrible things in real life. Sometimes, when I read these stories, when I see things that are just so awful, it literally runs through my head for hours, I write. I write it out to vent about it, to get my feelings out on paper, to break down why it’s wrong/cruel and most importantly, what can be done to end it and the suffering in people’s lives.

It’s why, when I write these themes or villains who eagerly commit these crimes and laugh, I do it with the mindset that they are the lowest of the low. When I write villains like this, I write with the mindset that these are horrible beings who a.) need no backstory to justify their horrible actions and b.) need to be eradicated in the most fitting way possible.

And in all of the stories that feature one or any of these things, it’s made 1000% crystal clear that none of these things, nor the people doing them, are morally right, excusable or justified/vindicated by history. I also stand by the fact that rape/sexual assault is never the victim’s fault, it’s 100% on the perpetrator, regardless of the circumstances. I have one rule when writing about characters who commit such acts, or who supports such acts: if there’s a character who believes that such things are right, they are swiftly dealt with, often violently. In fact, a lot of times, there’s a visceral reaction to those things and the characters are trying to eradicate those things (as well as the people doing it) from the world they live in. I certainly don’t let my villains (the ones who commit the aforementioned terrorism/sexualizing/etc.) get away with such actions.

I did address that yes, Lexicon and Jackson got away with the aforementioned genocide due to BS writing back when I was in school. In Reloaded, though? The difference is night and day—Jack and Mr. Beanstalk straight up kick their faces in for what they did to them and the kids, Jeremiah is much harsher in his beatdown of both of them and does reduce both of them to husks of their former selves when he steps in. And the Super Readers don’t speak to them for much of the story, even after it’s revealed that Chaos is the true villain, ’cause their earlier actions are still fresh in their minds and as such they don’t trust them at all (and rightfully so).

As for Chaos, he gets dealt with in the appropriate manner befitting a predator by Jeremiah when they first fought (which is gonna be explained in Darkness Rewrite when I get to it). But just know that the mature themes of this story will be handled in the appropriate way/explained better than they were in the original.

I think that’s everything that’s gonna be changed. If I find anything else that needs to be changed, I’ll be updating this accordingly! ^^

hiiii umm someone has probably already pointed this out but. uraume is almost definitely a gojo? and very possibly the progenitor of the entire gojo clan. putting the detailed analysis under the cut because this is a long ass post and very slightly spoiler-y for anime onlys

not a very convincing point on its own, but worth pointing out the obvious visual similarities between them. there are lots of other characters with light hair OR eyes but i can't think of any with both. also they're the only ones with pure white hair, even inumaki's is more of an ashy blond color.

but! into the more substantial stuff

according to the official fanbook, uraume and sukuna met 1,000 years ago, around the end of the heian period. in real world history, this was a relatively peaceful time during which japan began developing its own literary/political/intellectual cultures, thus becoming less reliant on china. in jjk, it's referred to as the golden age of sorcerers.

the relevant bit here being that the threat posed by sukuna was enough to draw the world of sorcerers together and push them to their limits.

here's where it gets interesting:

this common ancestor, sugawara no-michizane, was a real historical figure, a poet and politician who earned the support of the current emperor of japan, emperor uda, after lending the emperor his support in a political conflict with another noble family, the fujiwaras.

i mention them by name because in the culling games arc, uro calls yuta a fujiwara, not a sugawara--here's some interesting analysis for the curious. the relevant bit here is that while we don't know of any fujiwaras in the contemporary period, apart from maybe yuta, they were at some point an influential family of sorcerers in the jjk-verse. put a pin in that.

sugawara fell from favor after uda abdicated. eventually the fujiwara clan accused him of supporting the wrong candidate as successor to the emperor's throne, and he and his entire family were banished. sugawara died in exile.

a series of natural disasters led to the belief that sugawara's spirit was attempting to avenge its wrongful death. this is probably why maki refers to sugawara as "one of the three greatest japanese vengeful spirits." the real sugawara is now recognized as a benign deity in the shinto religion but it appears that this conversion never happened in jjk's alternate history, or that it isn't something the sorcerers recognize as fact.

sugawara was very fond of plum trees, and just before his exile, wrote a poem as farewell to his favorite, in his garden in kyoto:

When the east wind blows, flourish in full bloom, you plum blossoms! Even though you lose your master don't be oblivious to spring.

in addition, the sugawara clan's crest is the backside of a plum blossom.

in japanese, ura means behind, or back/other side. ume is plum.

there's a good breakdown of the name here which suggests that ura may symbolize a reversal of the values represented by plums in japanese culture (nobility, loyalty) or a betrayal of the sugawaras--possibly referring to uraume's choice to take sukuna's side.

another possibility that i'd like to raise is that uraume is either sugawara no-michizane himself, or a descendant of him. in this case the backside of the plum could represent exile--ie, sugawara's beloved plum tree seen from "behind," as he left his home. interesting in this case that uraume has a pinkish, almost plum colored patch on the back of their head. again--a beloved family symbol as something that is behind them.

their family's betrayal by the fujiwaras could have been the motive for their loyalty to sukuna, and perhaps a hatred of sorcerers' society in general (an interesting parallel to gojo satoru, no?)

thus: rejecting sugawara (a recognized sorcerer name) in favor of uraume (both a way of honoring their own family--the plum--and rejecting the culture it belonged to--the reversal). the "betrayal of nobility" interpretation of their name takes on a double meaning if this is the case.

anyway this may all be a bit of a stretch but i do think it would mesh really well with the themes gege sensei's established re: traditionalism, bloodlines, etc. really curious to see what they do with uraume and sukuna going forward.

Well... I guess we were hoping to make updated posts about the story. Keep an eye out for an updated master post, but here's the relevant posts I could track down in the mean time.

The World of Ithiir - Mostly how the world/planet the story takes place on works. There are some changes we have made, but this still gets the idea across nicely~

The Wall: The Name - More on the setting of the actual story, though looking back on this post we could have written more haha. We'll probably remake this post entirely in the future.

The Different Taurs: Pawed vs Hooved - This post is mostly about the social differences of taurs rather than anatomy. It's also more focused on the Wall's social structure, and doesn't account for elementals. We still need to make more detailed posts about the jobs, history of the two types of taurs....... We have a lot written, just not compiled all in one spot. Small edit: We made a post about the evolution of taurs not too long ago, and that info needs a MAJOR update lol. I'll link it if I find it, but it will definitely get a massive overhaul.

We made a series about the different kinds of elementals and how their magic and bodies work as well. Part 1: Elementals: The First Sapient Species Part 2: Fluid Part 3: Fauna 2nd post for fauna elementals (it says I goofed, but honestly it works really well with canon...) Part 4: Mineral Part 5: Energy

As for character references and the story, those have major updates we're working on. And as mentioned the main characters especially may just always be tweeked and edited as we continue writing. What is this?

A blog dedicated to documenting and sharing Good Omens fan events! Partially inspired by the now-inactive @ineffableplanner, our hope is that this blog will function similar to a community calendar, with monthly master posts detailing the ongoing and upcoming events in the Good Omens fandom. This way, no one misses that thing they really wanted to participate in!

How does it work?

Fans (like you!) alert us to upcoming events by filling out the submission form. This can also be done by tagging us on posts (replies and reblogs work too!), or sharing links in our ask box, but filling out the form ensures that the information we collect about the event is as complete as possible before it's shared with our followers. Then, on the first of the month, a new post is made using the information we collected via the form. Events that end during that month will be listed under "Ongoing", and events that start during that month will be listed under "Upcoming". Events are listed in chronological order, and are color-coded as follows: theme fests; prompt lists or challenges; bangs; exchanges; and zines. The most current monthly update post will always be pinned for easy reference!

What kind of events are allowed?

Any and all! The only requirements to be included in our monthly posts is that some portion of the event is: - open to public participation by Good Omens fans - has a concrete start or end date This means that events do not have to be Good Omens exclusive (like Inktober, or AUgust), but should not be something like zine sales of personal Good Omens art or fic. While they're lovely to know about, we'd prefer our focus to be on encouraging participation than on private marketing!

Recurring events like weekly prompts are also welcome, but in order to make room for events with exclusive start/end dates, we will only reblog or add your recurring event to a monthly update posts once.

Will you reblog my event post?

Absolutely! Any event post that we are tagged in will be added to our queue, as long as Good Omens fans can participate and it provides new or additional information about the event. (ie. we will not reblog two separate posts about sign-ups opening, but we will reblog one about them opening, and another about them closing!) We also highly recommend you fill out our submission form, so we have all the information we need to add it to our monthly posts without having to dig for it!

Barril's

So yes, this is now called "Voices of the court" (named after a Hiroyuki Sawano song "Voices of the chord") and the first chapter was posted earlier this week. This is the same continuity as "The King's Counselor" and it's set almost a year after that fic. I don't want to give out too many plot details yet, but it is a bumpy ride for Roy and Riza. Here's a little excerpt from chapter 2:

Riza rolled the sleeves of her jacket and walked into the small kitchen. She occupied herself washing the dishes and throwing away some of Roy's spoiled food while she waited for him to finish showering. She was just putting some glasses inside the cabinets when Roy's larger hands pressed against hers, effectively stopping her from moving.

"You don't have to do that."

"You told me to make myself at home."

She couldn't see his face from that angle, but she could practically feel him glaring at the back of her head. He'd never liked when she cleaned after him. Not when he'd been her father's apprentice, and not now that they were sleeping together. He allowed it more at work, and even then that had taken her years of reminding him that taking care of him was part of her job.

She expected him to shush her away and take over the cleaning like he usually did. Instead, she was surprised by the weight of his chest against her back, and by the feel of his lips against the scar on her neck.

Roy de-aged

This is a very silly fic that started because of THIS tomochingus art and a conversation with Scienceoftheidiot. It's about Fuhrer Roy getting de-aged into academy Roy, and discovering all the wonderful and horrible things his future has for him.

The door suddenly opened, and a beautiful blonde lady entered the room. She looked at him and frowned. "What's the meaning of this, Havoc? Where is my hu–"

Roy squinted hard at her. There was something utterly familiar about her appearance. She looked just like… "Riza?"

Her breath hitched. She blinked and turned back to him with an increasingly fearful expression. "Roy?"

Wow.

What the hell.

Was that really little Riza Hawkeye?

Rebecca's fic

This one —also referred as the Hayate fic — is about Rebecca finding out Riza is sleeping with Roy thanks to Hayate. It's fun but also very angsty. This is almost complete and probably what I'm posting next.

"You're telling me that, all these years, you have been pinning after this dumbass and you hadn't jumped him?"

"It's complicated."

"Oh, I'm sure it is. Starting with the fact that you could get Court Martialed for it. But seriously, how stubborn can you be?" Rebecca sighed. "At least tell me you're getting a transfer request."

"No," Riza said immediately. For some reason she looked scared. "I can't. I– My duty comes first."

"Then what? You'll be the Mustang's dirty little secret until one of you retires? You can't seriously be okay with that, Riza. You deserve better than that."

Marianne's gift

I have posted about this one before. The code name is snow. This is about one of the East-Briggs training exercises going wrong and Riza getting injured. Roy is out of his mind with worry, and Lieutenant Ross is done with it all.

"I see an arm!" Sergeant Grey yelled. Roy was immediately running after him.

Please, let it be her.

He prayed with no small amount of guilt. He should be equally worried about all his men, but he'd never quite mastered how not to separate her from the rest. He needed her to be alright. He wasn't sure what he would do if she wasn't. She was his tether to sanity. The only thing keeping him from wandering off the right path.

Roy took a deep breath, and put his fear back inside the box at the bottom of his soul. He had no time for it right now. He had a role to play.

Hi! NSA here! Sorry for the radio silence, I've been going through it in the mental health department. Plus work and all. I haven’t been able to write at all even though I want to. I hope you’ve been well despite, you know (gestures to the general state of the world)

Omg though pinning a post to call out to me u///u I’m flattered!

You wanted to hear my thoughts about Doe's Nekomamushi fic, and I will share them now! I did read it, but I was so FED that I wanted to devote the proper energy to address what I all liked about it, and I was far too tired to do that this past few weeks. And just kind of… not in the mood to engage with something positive when my brain is in the pits. But now I am here.

A while ago, someone sent Doe an ask referring to the drabbles I sent you and saying she had competition–I wanted to scream! Don’t compare us! T_T She’s got far more experience under her belt! The Nekomamushi commission is proof enough of that. Just incredible work.

Here’s my thoughts:

The intro is masterfully set up. Just paragraph after paragraph of vivid imagery of the location and the sensations of running through a tangled wood and the thrill of it all. Like 14 paragraphs before we even see Nekomamushi, and none of it is boring. I’m like hitting my head on a wall from a writer’s perspective because it’s so well done! The sun setting and the following hush are great transitions to the last part of the chase and really set the mood. I especially love when Sterling wonders to herself if Zunesha sleeps!! It’s such a small but poetic detail that really helps ground her in the world she lives in despite that world being so whimsical.

"A daring glance back was too tempting to resist." I love this sentence and how it transitions to the reveal, I love the emphasis on hunting grounds. But I think my favorite part of maybe the whole fic is the end of the paragraph:

“So in tune with nature here, it made her shudder. It almost flowed around him, with the ease at which he caught up.”

It’s sooo good! I can picture it perfectly and I just love the concept; such a master of his environment that it feels like the forest moves around him rather than the opposite. Coolest shit ever and something I can easily visualize.

And man, Doe is like a master of mood. After the buildup of the chase and the reveal, literally the moment his paw comes down and pins Sterling I’m on the edge of my seat with anticipation. And from the very start the dialogue is fucking hot:

"Well, little kitten, I've got you-gara right where I want you…there is no place in this jungle where I couldn't find you…"

DAMN I mean talk about starting off strong! And their back-and-forth is so cute and hot.

"Adrenaline and heat, all swirling together. I would chase that scent anywhere, kitten. I'd find you anywhere, until I could have you."

OTL I CANNOT, and immediately followed by "I'll always be yours." !?!? Im GONNA SCREAM!!

“...causing the beast to rumble in approval. That sound was felt all the way to her core.”

Doe hits all of the monsterfucker motifs: the growling of a beast being felt physically, the heat, the strength, the size difference, for some examples. She has an excellent understanding of the draw of the whole thing and knows how to execute those aspects very well.

Also. ALSO.

"They say you shouldn't tempt the beast." - "I think the beast is tempting me. Don't make me wait."

Fucking SUPERB I love the dialogue so much.

"Eyes on me, kitten."

The dominance and being called “kitten” grjgjdfskhfsj. I know I write the same thing but that’s because IT RULES (no pun intended) and Doe does an amazing job at it

The buildup to the actual penetration, the threat of the edging and the dirty talk is drawn out perfectly and is literally so hot it makes me dizzy. And it all builds up to the tipping point/high point/climax (literaty-term-wise) that is making Sterling beg for it, before you even get to the main event.

“Nekomamushi's Sulong form is always a bit rougher with her than his daytime self. The beast took what it wanted, and thought of her wellbeing later on once the throes of heat had cooled. But Sterling liked the thrill of being at the moon beast's mercy, a cunt to be used to breed and nothing more.”

Again with Doe showing 100% understanding of what the appeal of monsterfucking is. We love to see it. And then you actually have the main event and it’s 6 full sizzling spicy mastercrafted paragraphs before the first orgasm, like. I don’t know how she does it! Then we get 3 more before Nekomamushi’s??

Then a perfect resolution and closing line, which is always something I struggle with. The whole thing is Literally 1000/10 work.

Man, I aspire to write stuff like this. I really look up to Doe as a writer.

That’s about all of my thoughts on that. T_T I love fics I love OCs and self inserts and reader inserts I love writing (I hate writing) I love writing. How have you been, KP? I hope things are okay for you.

I’m not gonna lie when I saw this at work I literally started jumping up and down and screaming with joy silently, of course, but I did jump up and down. I want you to take your time and reply to me whenever you feel OK there’s no time limit and I’m always gonna be here. Also, it’s OK if you don’t wanna come off anon that’s completely your choice. And I don’t fault you for that at all.

After I read through your message all the way I literally called Doe and I read her this she was literally so happy She said it made her week and she’s never had such an analytical review of one of her works before she knows the time and energy. It must’ve taken for you to write all of this and source actual lines from her story

She said she greatly appreciate you for doing that very much and if you ever want to go over to her blog and just be on anon to just go ahead and do that if you want.

I reread that story a couple of times a week because it’s a literally, my favorite, and that one line with Sterling just being a Cunt to breed literally always sends a tingle through me. It’s literally my favorite line of the entire story.

My friend I greatly appreciate you so much and you don’t know how much joy that you bring me every time you message me I always get really giddy and giggle a lot that’s how much I look forward to you.

I have been experiencing several incredibly painful eye conditions for nearly two years that have severely limited my vision. I had two eye surgeries in 2023 to alleviate the worst of these conditions. Things have calmed down with my eyes, but I still have to take things easy in the vision department!

I have experienced several losses in my life over the past few years: two uncles, my maternal grandparents, two of my cats, a coworker and friend, and my daughter. These losses are taking a toll on me, and I am still grieving the losses.

I am also experiencing other forms of depression and anxiety in my life concerning my physical health and mental health due to my past relationship, current relationship pursuits, and now my job.

So, if you send me asks, DM me, or try to interact with me and do not get a response or get a slow response, all of this is likely why 😔. I’m not ignoring you! I’m just going through a lot!
