OCs: Len and Jake

Prompt: Getting ready for a formal event

Len batted Jake’s pale hands away with his own golden brown hands as the dragon growled. “Leave it.”

Jake gave a huff before dropping his hands again as Len moved to adjust his tie again. “I don’t understand why I have to wear one?” A raised brow from Len had him letting out a grumble. “I don’t like ties feel’s like hands around my neck.”

Len brushed his fingers through Jake’s short blond hair. “I’ll make it up to you.”

“A kiss would be nice.”

A raised brow, but Len gently cupped the back of his neck to kiss his forehead. “Any more, and we’re not leaving this room.” Len gently pulled on Jake’s tie only to clear his throat and take a step back. “I didn’t think this through.”

Jake gave him a confused look, but Len turned away. Len hung a suit coat on a hook by the large closet door. “This should fit you. I’m going to go get dressed.”

“Okay.” Jake walked over to grab the coat to try on. He tugged on the coat and adjusted it, making sure it fell over his shoulders correctly. Once he was done, he headed for Len’s closet. “Hey Len, the coat fits. Do you want me to button it up?” Blue eyes looked up in time to see Len in slacks and his button up shirt, and he felt his mouth go dry. Jake couldn’t help but wonder what Len would look like dressed in a full suit set with his draconic features visible.

When Len turned to look at Jake, he answered. “Yes, I need to make sure it fits you properly.” Green brown eyes landed on him before flicking away to focus on buttoning his cuffs. Jake quickly buttoned up his coat as Len slowly walked over to stand in front of him. Looking up, Jake found Len watching him. “I think I should wait for you in the living room.”

Len huffed out a laugh before looking over Jake. “Everything seems to fit properly. Just think, if we survive this night, I’ll get to help you take that off.”

Jake felt his lips quirk up in a crooked smile. “I might not make it to the event.”

Len slowly turned away from him, his hands fiddling with his other shirt cuff. “Behave, and I might let you touch instead of just watching.”

With a loud clearing of his throat, Jake quickly turned away. “I’ll be in the living room.”

A hand caught his arm to stop him. “There are shoes in a box on the coffee table. Try them on?”

“I will.” As Jake headed for the living room, he called out. “You never said what the event was for.”

“I didn’t.”

“So what is it?” Jake walked down the three steps out of the bedroom into the living room. He saw the shoe box sitting on the coffee table. Reaching out, he heard Len answer him.

“Birthday for one of the royal dragons.”

Jake twisted around to look in the direction of the bedroom. “What!” The squeak he let out was high as Len walked towards the large sliding door for his room. He ruffled a hand through his chocolate brown hair, trying to tame the mess it always seemed to be. Jake almost swallowed his tongue at the sight. Once he was able to, he squeaked out, “Why?”

“Because mother apparently made nice with one of the parents. Stupid really. Don’t need to go, but it was a formal invite, and mother will string me up by my horns if I don’t show for at least an hour.”

“Why me?”

Len raised an eyebrow in question as he walked down the steps into the living room.

“Why did you invite me to this?”

“Because I’m allowed a plus one, and you are my first choice.” Len dipped his head to press his nose to Jake’s hair as his hand reached up to cup his neck. “Always will be. I want you there.”

“Why?”

Len pulled away to open the box and pull the shoes out. “Because I would rather be in your company than all those stuffy dragons.”

“But you’re a stuffy dragon.”

Len laughed as he held the shoes out to Jake. He took them from Len as he sat down on the couch. “Yeah, but I still prefer your company. Come on, shoes on. We need to leave in twenty minutes.”

Jake sighed as he pulled the shoes on and tied the laces. “Okay. But I want no questions if I disappear to the bathroom for a breath of air.”

“I’ll show you where the balcony is so you can get actual fresh air.”

“Thank you.”

Len squeezed his shoulder as he walked past. “Just let me know if everything becomes too much, and we’ll step out together.” Then Len was heading back into his room as Jake finished tying his other shoe.

“The aftershow better be worth it!”

“Love, you’ll be lucky to make it to the room. Trust me when I say I don’t want other dragons or humans seeing you dressed like this.”

Jake sat on the couch, reeling from the words as he tried not to giggle nervously. He just had to make it through an hour, and tonight. A thought crossed his mind about calling out from work tomorrow. He should probably do that before they leave.

We're still in August and Halloween's only two months away but...

Who's up for some Risetober this October?

So, in continuation of spreading the word of Rise TMNT all over the Internet LIKE A BOSS, I decided to do my own list of Risetober this year. More Rise with a little bit of the Halloween spirit. If you're reading this @nickelodeon, not only do we want season 3 of Rise, we also want more seasons and more movies. Rise is such an underrated GEM!

OCs: Soren and Jenna

Soren sighed as he slumped against his apartment door. The last few days wiped him of any stray magic to the point of exhaustion. He slowly slid to the ground. Sleeping in the entryway was starting to sound like a good idea. Reaching out, he slowly tugged at the laces on his boots. Once one boot hit the ground, he started to work on the other boot. When he dropped the last boot on the ground, he heard the sound of a thump further in the apartment and couldn’t help the tired smile. The sound of claws tapping across the floor quickly approached him. When he looked up, he found a gray and white husky slipping and skidding around the corner of the hall for him.

Opening his arms, the dog barreled into him. He let out a soft grunt but hugged the dog back. Deeply tanned golden brown hands dug into thick, fluffy fur. “Hey, Jenna.” A wet tongue lapped at his face as Jenna whined and yipped at him. “Yes, yes, I’m home. I was gone for a few days.” Then Jenna was taking off into the living room of the apartment. Gray eyes closed as he sat there exhausted. His fingers reached up to tug his bag off his back. He shoved it to the side to rest in the corner with his other shoes.

The sound of a squeaky toy had him opening his eyes to find Jenna holding the toy in her mouth. She let out huffs, grumbles, and a howl that had him rolling his eyes. She started to squeak her toy before dropping it in his lap, slobber and all. Soren picked the toy up and tossed it into the living room. He winced at the sound of Jenna slipping and scrambling across the floor to get the toy.

While she was distracted getting the toy, Soren climbed to his feet. He tugged his coat off to hang on the hook on the wall as Jenna rushed back to him. He tossed the toy down the hall, watching as she took off after the toy. Heading for the laundry room, he tugged his shirt off to toss it into the dirty hamper. His fingers found his messy brown curls, and he tried to comb the tangles from the last few days out.

Jenna found him again. This time, she shoved the toy against his leg, making it squeak. Soren took the toy from her to toss into the living room again. While Jenna was distracted, he pulled his pants and socks off to toss into the dirty clothes before heading over to lock his front door. He made his way to his room.

The sound of Jenna’s paws followed him as he yawned. He flopped on his bed as the toy was dropped next to his leg. He picked it up to toss it out of his room, and Jenna took off after it. Soren started to nod off when a cold nose pressed against his freckled cheek. “Mmp… Jenna… last one.”

Sitting up, Soren located the toy and tossed it out the door. Jenna took off after the toy, leaving Soren to flop back onto the bed. He climbed under the blankets just in time for Jenna to jump on the bed. She let out a whine when he looked at her. “Let me nap. We can go to the park after I wake up.” Jenna whined before flopping onto the bed next to him. Soren let out a chuckle as he started to pet her head. When his fingers slowed in scratching her head, she would lick them, and he would start again. Once he was deep enough into sleep that her small licks wouldn’t wake him, Jenna shuffled closer to rest her head on his arm and closed her eyes.
