Let’s face it. 2022 was a challenging year for LBGTQ rights not just in America but around the world. From Governors making it illegal to talk about Queer and Trans or offer support to Queer and Trans students all the way to taking Trans children away from affirming families. Making Trans healthcare harder to downright impossible to obtain. And just in part making lives for many Queer and Trans youth difficult if not impossible.
For a long time many Queer and Trans youth have found solace in fandom spaces. Whether is for tv shows, movies, books, comics and manga, and more. In these spaces they aren’t just a queer or trans kid. They are either a great artist or an amazing fanfic writer or an talented Cosplayer.
Fandom can be Inclusive and Queer! That’s what we are here for today. We are here to announce the creation of the “No Bait Just Queer” charity fanzine this year.
No Bait Just Queer is a multi fandom fanzine full of Fanart Fanfics and amazing cosplays serving the following fandoms

Due to some personal issues, the zine had to be postponed, but it will be coming out next Saturday, the 9th of July 2022!!
This zine will contain over a 100 pages featuring our favourite sapphics, Juleka and Rose. It will be completely free and in pdf format, the link to the document will be posted on this page on Saturday.

Due to irl schedules, this zine is going to release in August vs past years being in June. Hoping this helps spread out the LGBT fan content throughout the year. Any month is pride month if you want it to be!

My head cannon for Alix is that she’s ace/asex. I have a more subtle representation since Asex/Ace pride colors are on her wheels, but I still like it.

pride zine preview
okay, now that i’ve managed to fistfight writer’s block and succeed, here’s a liiiiittle snippet from the fic i wrote for @miraculouspridezine. make sure to check out the full zine when it’s released!!!
there is a trigger warning because i very briefly mention suicide (it’s not in this snippet but it is in the full fic). i’ll put it under a read more so that you lovelies can avoid it if need be. and i’ll do my best to mark the area where i talk about suicide when i post the full fic.

But princesses in towers, if they found others like themselves, were at an advantage, because words weren’t needed for them to transmit those emotions. They’d smile at each other, pained grimaces melting away with time and patience, and the sound of another human’s breathing would be enough to soothe away some of the ache in their hearts.
And Lila recognizes it when Chloe says, “Can’t any of you show a little compassion to someone who made a simple mistake?” Recognizes the agonizing waiting for a prince that never came, that left all those princesses to spend their lives hoping for someone who has already moved on.
That recognition shows in the way Lila takes refuge in Chloe’s companionship, in the way Lila swarms to Chloe whether it’s a political dinner or lunch at school or a partner project where people can choose who they work with.
And there’s a definitive relief in knowing that even when your own mind has managed to convince you that no one out there wants anything to do with you, even when the world has shown you over and over again that you don’t have any worth left in it, other princesses from other towers do want you, do find worth in your existence.
Some days, that knowledge is the only thing that keeps Chloe going, because the only thing worse than never finding another princess in a tower is finding and losing.
