how to revise effectively
revision is a very important part of education, but many people have no idea how. in this post i'm going to outline the basics of revision. it's important to note that different subjects will require you to revise differently, there is no one size fits all when it comes to revision.
less is more- studying for 30 focused minutes is way more effective than a 5 hour study session while you watch tv.
work on exam technique- this is such an overlooked part of revising for an exam, but if you know how to answer the questions and what structures to use, it will really help you. ask your teacher or search for your exam board online to find out the best way for your subject and exam board.
manage distractions- if like me you get distracted super easily, you need to create an environment with limited distractions. this means put your phone on do not disturb, if your house/place of study is noisy put some headphones on and listen to classical music or study ambience (my favourites are the Harry Potter rooms by Asmrweekly on youtube). if you get distracted while studying by thinking of things you need to do, something that's really helped me is to have a piece of paper next to me that i can write all my thoughts on, so i can continue studying and do what i've written afterwards.
set precise goals for your study session- this helps to reduce procrastination. for example, if I put "study geography" on my to do list i'll procrastinate, but if I put "do 30 flashcards for the topic hazards" I have a clear idea of what I need to do
use the pomodoro method- having breaks is really important in keeping you engaged while you're studying. I don't follow the typical timings, but I usually do between 30-45 minutes of studying followed by a 10-15 minute break depending on how I'm feeling
utilise your study breaks- it's so easy to pick your phone up and scroll through tiktok until you realise your 5 minute break turned into a 3 hour tiktok binge. when I go on a study break, I only go on my phone to snap people back, or for a little scroll on pinterest. I also like to get some more water, grab a snack and stretch. If I'm having a longer break, I'll try to get outside and go for a walk, especially if the weather is good (in England this is about 5 days of the year haha)
now, onto different ways to revise
doing past papers
doing flashcards
making timelines
doing essay plans
making mindmaps
blurting
quizzes
if you study languages, practicing translations or specific types of questions that come up in the exam (for my exam board this is things like gap fill activities, 90 word listening or writing summaries, finding synonyms in a text etc.)

Im in such an obey me mood today haha
other than "pls dont tell asmo about that",,,, i have questions about these freaking vegetables (im putting under the cut since im talking about food and bad eating habits/diet related stuff)
im assuming they would have to be mixed with other regular ingredients to prevent the hunger but it sounds like ppl would use them as the main component in a dish or just eat them by themselves
So does all of it get digested? No leftovers (waste) comes out the other end im guessing? is it like a magic type thing?? it has to be right? Cause if not...ur body will take the calories needed to replace the ones burnt, take the nutrients, and the rest will just get tossed out
And since it doesnt make you full, like wouldnt it be way too easy to overeat this type of thing? so you could accidentally end up making urself go to the restroom more often :/
Ig if it gives u the nutrients u need that itll be useful then. So maybe its a 'heres ur macros for the day' type dealo? but u still have to go eat an actual meal or make sure u mix it with other stuff tho
#ik its just a silly joke type text but i do like to take these things and overthink them and apply them to real life#its just interesting to me cause ik the answers will never come so its like a brain exercise or something#eating disorder tw#just to be safe#but yea..................#im gonna just go off in the tags cause im just wondering about when this would be useful cause regular veggies are the better choice to me#ig that could be useful in a very specific circumstance where you went over calories but still need certain macros..but like...its veggies#going over for some for veggies isnt that big a deal imo but if ur mostly concerned with deficit then ud cut anywhere u can...#u could also like use it to lessen the calories in the dish overall and maybe add more of the ingredients u actually like#tho i feel like it would not remove that many calories in the first place#and ud probably wouldnt even get to add that much more of what u actually want in comparison#and then...ur gonna be hungry cause u took away a big volume of the food which was the regular vegetables#but for me when im making food the last thing im worried about in my dish is the freaking vegetables#im trying to add more veggies and less of everything else ._.#i feel like this would make more sense if it was like a sugary treat#especially if this is supposed to be a thing that helps with cravings#u get to eat and enjoy the thing without consequence (for the most part) while eating a more restrictive diet#tho it would probably be even more dangerous than the veggies when it comes to overeating...#idk how the demon biology works but it seems about the same to humans but just more durable#and with asmos eating habits...i can already see in my minds eye whats gonna go down#it just seems like a bad idea all around to tell him about this!#obey me nightbringer

you know in terms of the whole body image journey thing, it has been a HUGE relief to be TOLD by my doctor that it was a good thing I gained weight. She was like girl you WERE lighter in high school and that wasn't..... a good thing (paraphrased.... my doctor does not talk like this lol). You're a healthy weight now and I want you to maintain this. Do NOT try to lose any more weight. And I was like okay that's actually......... that really helps, actually. First of all being told to my face that I don't have to lose weight but also that I shouldn't be focusing on going back to what I looked like in high school. It really helped with realising that I should be focusing more on whether or not my body is healthy and functioning and strong.

Guided meditation for sleep and relaxation
Find a comfortable and quiet space where you won't be disturbed. You can sit in a chair or lie down on your back with your arms relaxed at your sides.
Tumblr media
Begin by taking a few deep breaths: Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of four, hold for a moment, and then exhale through your mouth for a count of six. Repeat this three times.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation: Starting from your toes and working your way up to your head, focus on each body part one at a time. As you focus on a body part, tense the muscles for a few seconds and then release, allowing them to relax completely. Imagine any tension melting away with each exhalation.
Start with your toes and feet, then move to your ankles and calves.
Progress to your thighs, hips, and lower back.
Move to your abdomen, chest, and upper back.
Continue with your fingers, hands, and arms.
Relax your neck, shoulders, and facial muscles.
Finally, imagine a warm, soothing sensation flowing through your entire body, leaving you completely relaxed.
Visualization: Imagine yourself in a serene and safe place. It could be a peaceful beach, a tranquil forest, or a cozy cabin in the mountains. Picture the details—the colors, sounds, and sensations of this place. Allow yourself to become fully immersed in this mental retreat.
Breathing Awareness: Shift your attention to your breath. Focus on the gentle rise and fall of your chest or the rhythmic sensation of your breath entering and leaving your nostrils. If your mind wanders, gently guide it back to your breath without judgment.
Counting Down: In your mind, count down from 10 to 1 with each breath, feeling yourself becoming more relaxed with each number.
Affirmations: Repeat a calming affirmation to yourself. For example, "I am calm and at peace" or "I am drifting into a deep and restful sleep."
Silent Mind: Let go of any thoughts, worries, or to-do lists. Imagine each thought as a leaf floating down a peaceful river, drifting away and leaving you in a state of mental quiet.
Sleep Transition: If you're using this meditation to fall asleep, as you continue to focus on your breath, imagine yourself in your comfortable bed, feeling increasingly drowsy. Picture yourself sinking into the softness of your mattress and into a deep, restorative sleep.
End with Gratitude: When you're ready to conclude your meditation, take a few deep breaths and gradually become aware of your surroundings. Move your fingers and toes, and gently open your eyes. Take a moment to reflect on feelings of relaxation and gratitude for this time you've taken for yourself.
This guided meditation can be adapted to suit your preferences and needs, helping you unwind and achieve a peaceful state of mind conducive to relaxation and sleep.

WiP Wednesday - Ceremony of Punishment (AKA Chipped Catra)
Prime lifts her chin, smiling softly at her unseeing eyes and they push her dripping hair aside to place the chip against her neck. She does not react to the needle that extends, she does not react to the nanodroids flooding into her system. Wires and tubes forming inside her in microseconds. Once she has been blessed the chips will attach fully in nanoseconds, so quickly they do not cause pain for those that come after. Prime is merciful but purity is not a blessing he can give to all beings he takes into his light.
It is the work of half a minute for the chip to settle.
They watch and cheer and shout and give thanks as her eyes stay vacant but fill with pure white light. His mark of favor. His blessing. His promise. His salvation. They cry with joy as her confused mind touches theirs for the first time and is subsumed. They feel the moment she understands what they were doing for her, for her benefit.
She smiles gratefully, hands lifting in thanks to their Lord.
“Hello, Little Sister.” Lord Prime cries with them, the softness and fondness and love he has for all under his gaze is magnificent to see. He takes her hands in his, kissing her forehead as they converge into one being, one mind unhindered.
