Trying to catch up on The Rookie. So I can write my omega!Tim x alpha!Lucy fan-fiction. Basically my idea is Tim has not had his heat in over a year since Isabel his wife and alpha left him and they have not renewed their bond. Being in close proximity all day and training Lucy who is an alpha triggers his heat. It starts when they are on patrol. He is obviously in denial about it and there is nesting and cuteness and concerned Lucy and blushing cuddly Tim. There are not enough alpha!female and omega!male fan-fictions. I make the brooding tall characters omegas while making the tiny ray of sunshine characters alphas.

Trying to finish Suits so I can really get into my omegaverse fan-fiction where Harvey is an omega pretending to be an alpha and eventually something happens revealing that he is an omega. I see if there is a better way to start the story. I have been complicating whether I want it to be omega!Harvey/alpha!Donna or alpha!Donna/omega!Harvey/alpha!Mike. Because you can not convince me that Harvey is not bisexual and in love with both Donna and Mike. If you want let me know what you think about that. I love a good best friends to lovers troupe. I might complete change the first chapter.

Harvey Specter is an omega. He has been pretending to be an alpha to be taken seriously since working in the mail-room by taking illegal suppressants and scent blockers and not being sexually intimate with his colleagues and peers. But suppressing his true natural and side effects of the drugs start catching up with him. He is having parental protective feelings towards his new associate Mike and is catching feels for his tough as stones alpha assistant Donna.

ok ok ok something that's been on my mind about Ai Di and Chen Yi & the conflicted feelings everyone (myself included) seems to have around them hooking up

obviously Ai Di taking advantage of drunk Chen Yi is bad. Chen Yi was clearly super out of it, and even if he did eventually recognize that it was Ai Di in front of him, he was still not in the right state of mind to be sleeping with someone

.....but—

it feels weird to even put a 'but' after a statement like that, but honestly, the context is so important. there's a big difference between, say, a sober person irl taking advantage of their drunk heartbroken friend under normal circumstances, and a feral gang member who has literally run people over for the hell of it taking advantage of his crush who is also a gang member and has flung himself at feral gang member (twice now) even though he's supposedly in love with their boss who is also a father figure to both of them.

like... it's almost impossible to view this situation through a "normal" lens lmao. also, most people irl are not in a situation where running away from your guilt entails going to literal prison for four years

so yeah, what Ai Di did was fucked up, real world or fictional, but I think it's okay to not bend over backwards trying to justify his actions when the context is so far beyond what is "normal" circumstances

Three ships you like - Just off the top of my head, Buddie (Buck x Eddie from 9-1-1), Marvey (Mike x Harvey from Suits) and Chenford (Lucy Chen x Tim Bradford from The Rookie). I have so many more, lol.

First ship ever - These are all from roughly the same time, and I was only a kid at the time, so I’m not sure which came first, but I’d say Maddie Hayes x David Addison from Moonlighting, Jim Dempsey x Harriet ‘Harry’ Makepeace from Dempsey & Makepeace, and Anne Shirley x Gilbert Blythe from the 1985 made-for-television adaptation of Anne of Green Gables and its 1987 sequel. In my teenage years, I seriously shipped Benton Fraser x Ray Vecchio from Due South.

Last song you heard - I stopped at the Tesco Express on my way home from work earlier to see if they had anything I fancied for dinner (spoiler alert - they didn’t) and You Can Get It If You Really Want came on over the sound system, much to the seeming delight of everyone in the store because we all started humming, whistling and, in the case of one customer, even singing along. Oh, and it was the Jimmy Cliff version, not the Desmond Dekker one, or at least it sounded like it.

Favourite childhood book - Ooh, that’s a difficult one! I devoured books as a child (a habit I’ve been getting back into this year and last) and I don’t know if I could pick just one.

Currently reading - The Binding Room by Nadine Matheson (the sequel to The Jigsaw Man, which I just finished earlier this week), and I’m also making my way through a book of short stories called That Was A Shiver, and Other Stories by James Kelman.

Currently watching - I finally got around to watching the last half of the last season of The Blacklist this week, watching the very last episode just last night. I’m also watching reruns of The Closer and the original The Twilight Zone, as well the current seasons of Death in Paradise, Murdoch Mysteries, N.C.I.S. and Law & Order. I’m also watching Tatort Saarbrücken, but I’m trying to make the episodes last because there’s only five of them and the next one doesn’t air until January! I have a whole stack of other stuff I still have to get around to as well, but there’s only so many hours in the day.

Currently consuming - A tin of Pepsi Max.

Currently craving - Ice cream, even though it’s really cold here at the moment.
