Headcanon that whenever Percy is swordfighting, he thinks of Luke.

Subconsciously, like "How would Luke disarm this guy?" He doesn't even realize he's doing it .

And it makes sense coz although Percy fought a lot of monsters, he hasn't fought a lot of swordsmen. Case in point: in HoO Percy admits that he hadn't progressed much further as a swordsman than he thought.

In fact, most of Percy's combat experience is from the Titan War.

Luke taught him how to fight with a sword, and then proceeded to spend the next 4 years fighting him, both directly and indirectly, so in a vague roundabout way, Luke continued being his swordfighting instructor even after he left CHB.
