"Oi, Black!" Sirius looked away from the fireplace, locking eyes with a red head.

"Hey, Evans." Lily jumped on the sofa next to where he sat and leaned in.

"James filled me in. Why didn't you tell me you ran away?" Sirius had honestly forgotten to tell her. His mind had been quite busy since his escape. Getting used to living with the Potters, his strange meeting with his uncle, worrying about his brother… He didn't exactly feel like talking about it. It pained him whenever he remembered he abandoned Reggie. Instead of answering he just shrugged.

"What does this mean for you and Regulus?" Would it be rude to get up and leave? "Are you okay?"

"Look, Evans. I don't want to talk about him. It's over between us, I left him by himself there. So can we just… change the subject?"

"You can't just give up like that, Sirius… Just because you're not with him at home doesn't mean you can't be there for him." She wasn't completely wrong. But the Blacks were proud. Reg wouldn't want his brother's help after being abandoned.

"Leave it, Lily…" She sighed and then silence settled. Both their gazes fixed on the flames.

"You know… I wish I could talk to Petunia. Even if we have different lives and views. I wish she hadn't cut me out like that. We might have our differences and fights but… I miss her." Gray eyes looked into green ones, a sense of solidarity and understanding between both. "I know it's not the same but… Regulus surely misses you too. Don't give up on the relationship. Talk to him, while you can. While the wall hasn't been fully built yet."

"I hate it when you're right." She chuckled and lifted her head.

"I'm always right. - Oh God! I sound like Potter! I'm spending way too much time with him!" She rolled her eyes at Sirius's suggestive smirk and pushed him gently. "Shut up and go fix things with your brother."

In a modern AU both of them would be swifties (Sirius' ringtone would be Bejeweled and Lily's would be The Man).

Both of them love ABBA and for Sirius' 17th birthday Lily bought him a record of the album Arrival, purely to play Dancing Queen on repeat.

They have massive prank wars, just between the two of them.

They bonded over having familial issues (they became friends after Sirius found Lily crying over a letter from Petunia, and they talked for hours about their families). As a result, they are practically each other's therapists.
