Hi, hope you are having a good day when you receive this ask. So my request is going to be a bit angsty.. so is it alright to request a hc of the hashira reaction of seeing blue spider liles growing on their s/o's grave?

Mitsuri

After you died Mitsuri made sure every day that she visited your grave it didn't matter how busy she was she would make time for you. She hoped you were reincarnated somewhere and one day you would come back to her just in another form. Seeing the blue spider lilies on your grave gave her hope that you were out there somewhere. She didn't dare touch them though. She was too afraid that if she took one with her she would mess up your grave.

Shinobu

She visited your grave to escape from her busy life. Going there filled her with happy memories of when you were alive. But filled her with sadness remembering that she'll never see you again. One day she went to go visit your grave and she noticed something different. 3 spider lilies but they weren't like normal ones they were blue. She heard that Muzan's goal was to find the blue spider lily so in fear of Muzan messing your grave up or disturbing you in the afterlife. She carefully picked them. "I'm sorry my dear but it's for both of our safety" She takes great care of them and even when they die she still keeps them. When someone at the butterfly mansion saw them they asked why she had dead flowers. "Oh, someone special gave them to me. Please don't touch them"

Giyuu

Giyuu surprisingly didn't like visiting your grave. It filled him with sadness to see your name on a tombstone. But sometimes he did go just to calm down. After a long day of putting up with all the other hashira he went to your grave and sat down in front of it. He'd do anything just to see you again. He looked over to see blue spider lilies all over the back of your grave. Just like Mitsuri that made him hope you were out there somewhere.

Platonic Muichiro

He was terrified he was going to forget about you so he tried to visit his grave any free time he had. When he visited your grave one particular day he saw the blue spider lilies growing on your grave he didn't think much of them. He thought they suited your grave well and he left them alone.

Rengoku

He visited your grave every day. The morning before he left for the Mugen train he visited you. You were killed by a lower rank demon a month after you two got married. He felt absolutely horrible that he wasn't able to protect you. He didn't feel worthy of being a hashira at all. He couldn't even protect his own s/o. He didn't know much about the blue spider lily but he knew a lot of demons were looking for it. He didn't like the idea of taking them from your grave so he just promised himself to visit you more during the night so a demon couldn't get them. He got up and promised to visit you after he got back from the Mugen train

Obanai

He visited your grave a lot. He still was having a hard time believing that you were dead. You had always been quite ill but he really believed that you would survive your sickness. But when the doctors told him you had died in your sleep he felt like the whole world was going to end. He wished there was something he could've done. He didn't really believe you were dead till he saw your cold lifeless body. All these thoughts ran through his head while he stared at your grave. And the blue flowers that were growing on them. He knew what they were. He thought they suited you he didn't dare touch them he thought they looked beautiful the way they were.

Tengen + wives

Tengen and his wives visited your grave whenever they could. One day they were all there Suma was crying like she always did whenever they visited your grave. As Tengen wipes Suma's tears from her eyes Suma noticed something. Blue flowers on the side of your grave. "Did one of yall plant these?" Suma asked sniffling Makio shook her head. Hinatsuru walked up to them. "They look like spider lilies but there not red" as soon as she said that Tengen knew what they were. "Don't touch those Hina they might be dangerous nobody knows much about them" Hinatsuru stepped back. Tengen sat down in front of your graves and motioned the others to do the same. As they all sat down not a word was spoken. They all just admired your grave.

Sanemi

Sanemi didn't take your death well at all. He blamed himself for what happened to you. You were killed by an upper rank. He should've gone with you he should've been able to protect you he thought to himself as he walked to your grave. He finally had someone who loved him again and he lost it just like that. Just like Obanai, he didn't believe you were actually dead. Until they found you...or what was left of you. The demon had eaten you so only your haori and uniform remained. He kept your haori. Whenever he was stressed he would hold it in his arms wishing it was you. He visited your grave quite often. When he saw the blue spider lilies he got worried. What if Muzan found your grave? What if he messed it up by taking the flowers? He wouldn't pick them but he would start visiting your grave more often just to make sure nobody had messed with the flowers.

burke lapadura being a grandpa to memory hcs🔨🧸

burke is a very carefree but nontheless a caring grandpa!

beneath the surface burke really loves kids :) he just sucks at displaying affection in general

some hunters would call his behavior irresponsible

...like letting memory stick her finger into his bottle of vodka and taste it

to which he responds with a simple *shoo* motion with his hand

like would you rather have her try a harmless drop of alcohol or learn how to pallet stun you to death at 8 years old smh🙄🙄young people these days

refers to himself as "old man" and "grumpy old"guy", even "fossil" occasionaly

always fixes memory's dolls once they tear!

^proposed installing mechanical limbs and laser eyes but took it back once he saw the concern in her eyes

when he falls asleep grandpa style™ on the sofa while watching TV he often wakes up with a face full of badly applied makeup

(by memory, of course)

and he'd let her bake his face even if he was awake 🫡‼️ he'd go on and call himself a "pretty princess" for her

jumping back to burke's irresponsibility, back in his workshop he has a shit ton of prototypes and weapons eagerly waiting to be tested

..and, honestly, is there a better person to test them other than his beloved granddaughter? there's no child out there that dislikes pushing colorful buttons and detonating bombs! (safety first tho)

his babysitting is 50/50 honestly. either he watches over her every move like an eagle or he peacefully reads as she runs around in circles

rule no1 in the manor: never, and by that i mean NEVER let burke in the kitchen.

it's not even the fact that he sucks at cooking, it's just that he's so used to the speed and precision of his machines that he rages whenever the freezer gets stuck or the oven is not hot enough

^so it's a bit of a hassle when memory wants some warm milk alongside her cookies.

"keep away from the kitchen for some time sweetie, grandpa is trying not to give himself 3rd degree burns while using a microwave!"

sometimes memory ends up spending the entire day in his workshop helping him

and trust me, working with burke is a BLAST (literally and metaphorically)

burke likes fishing in his free time so i believe he and memory would go on fishing trips together :)

definetly has one of those funny snapbacks that say stuff like "fish want me women fear me"

even if they don't catch anything it's the quality time that matters!

reads memory her favourite bed time stories! of course, his narrating isn't as good as orpheus's, but he tries to voice each character differently so that's immediately a plus

i wanna talk about Kathryn "Plumber" Pulitzer

so I'm gonna

for this I'm ignoring how unbelievably disrespectful it was that broadway used her as a character in the first place, they made her kind of a bitch

if my judgement is correct (and it usually is because I'm so smart and amazing and smart /j) it seems like the only bad thing going on between Kathryn and her dad is that she's using her writing skills against him, other than that he doesn't seem all that disappointing, or mad, ect. with her for like anything. Anything except getting with Jack but he strongly dislikes Jack and doesn't trust him with his daughter like any sane parent would do, parents always or at least are supposed to always want the best for their children especially in a relationship

and it's not like Kathryn has this horrible life and is on the brink of homelessness and her father is blaming her for it, Pulitzer has money, they have a nice home and she's able to live a comfortable life with her parents and siblings, and with the flinching it could and very well might be that she's just around people she doesn't know all too well and is a little jumpy. Now I'm not saying Pulitzer doesn't have his flaws as a father he most definitely does all parents do and in no way shape or form am i trying to defend the poor parenting shown in the musical but except for that it Kathryn has nice clothes, provided by the money he makes and i can't imagine that those are cheap clothes and she's had a comfortable enough lif that she assumed Jack was being a newsie to work through art school so she's obviously never had to worry about momey too much, she has a good education I'm assuming as she's a quite bright girl despite her obliviousness to how poor these newsies actually are, she has nice clothes, a typewriter, and not once is it shown in the musical Pulitzer being hostile towards her so the assumptions that he's abusive don't make much sense, the emotions he's give off during the scenes that he is with his daughter are really only just general "You're so grounded when we get home kid" emotions, and no offense to the people who say that Pulitzer was a neglectful or abusive father but when you say that it's obvious your parents haven't disciplined you much, she was using the writing skills i can only imagine came from watching him work against him. Imagine your daughter uses her writing skills against you? you would probably ground the kid too, i would. Kathryn's spoiled, she's not neglected or abused she's spoiled, there's a difference between neglected/abused and spoiled and Kathryn is on the spoiled side of the meter, once again she clearly has a leaning-towards-good-decent life and she still goes against the person who worked to give her said life over a strike that had nothing to do with her, while yes it would be interesting to see people striking and striking against your father of all people and yes if you were a reporter you would probably want to write about it but if you're a reporter and you're reporting on something lile that i feel like it's important to get both sides is it not? correct me if I'm horribly wrong which i very well might be but she's just spoiled and a horribly written character ngl

A Guide to Taiwanese Name Romanization

Have you ever wondered why there are so many Changs when the surname 常 is not actually that common? Have you ever struggled to figure out what sound “hs” is? Well don’t worry! Today we are going to go over some common practices in transliterating names from Taiwan.

With some recent discussion I’ve seen about writing names from the Shang-Chi movie, I thought this was the perfect time to publishe this post. Please note that this information has been compiled from my observations--I’m sure it’s not completely extensive. And if you see any errors, please let me know!

According to Wikipedia, “the romanized name for most locations, persons and other proper nouns in Taiwan is based on the Wade–Giles derived romanized form, for example Kaohsiung, the Matsu Islands and Chiang Ching-kuo.” Wade-Giles differs from pinyin quite a bit, and to make things even more complicated, transliterated names don’t necessarily follow exact Wade-Giles conventions.

Well, Wikipedia mentioned Kaohsiung, so let’s start with some large cities you already know of!

[1] B → P 台北 Taibei → Taipei [2] G → K [3] D → T In pinyin, we have the “b”, “g”, and “d” set (voiceless, unaspirated) and the “p”, “k”, and “t” set (voiceless, aspirated). But in Wade-Giles, these sets of sounds are distinguished by using a following apostrophe for the aspirated sounds. However, in real life the apostrophe is often not used.

We need some more conventions to understand Kaohsiung. [4] ong → ung (sometimes) [5] X → Hs or Sh 高雄 Gaoxiong → Kaohsiung I wrote “sometimes” for rule #4 because I am pretty sure I have seen instances where it is not followed. This could be due to personal preference, historical reasons, or influence from other romanization styles.

Now some names you are equipped to read: 王心凌 Wang Xinling → Wang Hsin-ling 徐熙娣 Xu Xidi → Shu/Hsu Hsi-ti (I have seen both) 黄鸿升 Huang Hongsheng → Huang Hung-sheng 龙应台 Long Yingtai → Lung Ying-tai 宋芸樺 Song Yunhua → Sung Yun-hua

You might have learned pinyin “x” along with its friends “j” and “q”, so let’s look at them more closely. [6] J → Ch [7] Q → Ch 范玮琪 Fan Weiqi → Fan Wei-chi 江美琪 Jiang Meiqi → Chiang Mei-chi 郭静 Guo Jing → Kuo Ching 邓丽君 Deng Lijun → Teng Li-chun This is similar to the case for the first few conventions, where an apostrophe would distinguish the unaspirated sound (pinyin “j”) from the aspirated sound (pinyin “q”). But in practice these ultimately both end up as “ch”. I have some disappointing news.

[8] Zh → Ch Once again, the “zh” sound is the unaspirated correspondent of the “ch” sound. That’s right, the pinyin “zh”, “j”, and “q” sounds all end up being written as “ch”. This can lead to some...confusion. 卓文萱 Zhuo Wenxuan → Chuo Wen-hsuan 陈绮贞 Chen Qizhen → Chen Chi-chen 张信哲 Zhang Xinzhe → Chang Shin-che At least now you finally know where there are so many Changs. Chances are, if you meet a Chang, their surname is actually 张, not 常.

Time for our next set of rules. [10] C → Ts [11] Z → Ts [12] Si → Szu [13] Ci, Zi → Tzu Again we have the situation where “c” is aspirated and “z” is unaspirated, so the sounds end up being written the same. 曾沛慈 Zeng Peici → Tseng Pei-tzu 侯佩岑 Hou Peicen → Hou Pei-tsen 周子瑜 Zhou Ziyu → Chou Tzu-yu 黄路梓茵 Huang Lu Ziyin → Huang Lu Tzu-yin 王思平 Wang Siping → Wang Szu-ping

Fortunately this next convention can help clear up some of the confusion from above. [14] i → ih (zhi, chi, shi) [15] e → eh (-ie, ye, -ue, yue) Sometimes an “h” will be added at the end. So this could help distinguish some sounds. Like you have qi → chi vs. zhi → chih. There could be other instances of adding “h”--these are just the ones I was able to identify. 曾之乔 Zeng Zhiqiao → Tseng Chih-chiao 施柏宇 Shi Boyu → Shih Po-yu 谢金燕 Xie Jinyan → Hsieh Jin-yan 叶舒华 Ye Shuhua → Yeh Shu-hua 吕雪凤 Lü Xuefeng → Lü Hsueh-feng

Continuing on, a lot of the conventions below are not as consistently used in my experience, so keep that in mind. Nevertheless, it is useful to be familiar with these conventions when you do encounter them.

[16] R → J (sometimes) Seeing “j” instead of “r” definitely confused me at first. Sometimes names will still use “r” though, so I guess it is up to one’s personal preferences. 任贤齐 Ren Xianqi → Jen Hsien-chi 任家萱 Ren Jiaxuan → Jen Chia-hsüan 张轩睿 Zhang Xuanrui → Chang Hsuan-jui

[17] e → o (ke, he, ge) I can see how it would easily lead to confusion between ke-kou, ge-gou, and he-hou, so it’s important to know. I’ve never seen this convention for pinyin syllables like “te” or “se” personally. 柯震东 Ke Zhendong → Ko Chen-tung 葛仲珊 Ge Zhongshan→ Ko Chung-shan

[18] ian → ien [19] Yan → Yen I’ve observed that rule 18 seems more common than 19 because I see “yan” used instead of “yen” a fair amount. I’m not really sure why this is. 柯佳嬿 Ke Jiayan → Ko Chia-yen 田馥甄 Tian Fuzhen → Tien Fu-chen 陈建州 Chen Jianzhou → Chen Chien-chou 吴宗宪 Wu Zongxian → Wu Tsung-hsien

[20] Yi → I (sometimes) I have seen this convention not followed pretty frequently, but two very famous names are often in line with it. 蔡英文 Cai Yingwen → Tsai Ing-wen 蔡依林 Cai Yilin → Tsai I-lin

[21] ui → uei I have seen this convention used a couple times, but “ui” seems to be much more common. 蔡立慧 Cai Lihui → Tsai Li-huei

[22] hua → hwa This is yet another convention that I don’t always see followed. But I know “hwa” is often used for 华 as in 中华, so it’s important to know. 霍建华 Huo Jianhua → Huo Chien-hwa

[23] uo → o This is another example of where one might get confused between the syllables luo vs. lou or ruo vs. rou. So be careful! 罗志祥 Luo Zhixiang → Lo Chih-hsiang 刘若英 Liu Ruoying → Liu Jo-ying 徐若瑄 Xu Ruoxuan → Hsu Jo-hsuan

[24] eng → ong (feng, meng) I think this rule is kinda cute because some people with Taiwanese accents pronounce meng and feng more like mong and fong :) 权怡凤 Quan Yifeng → Quan Yi-fong

[25] Qing → Tsing I am not familiar with the reasoning behind this spelling, but 国立清华大学 in English is National Tsing Hua University, so this spelling definitely has precedence. But I also see Ching too for this syllable. 吴青峰 Wu Qingfeng→ Wu Tsing-fong

[26] Li → Lee Nowadays a Chinese person from the Mainland would probably using the Li spelling, but in other areas, Lee remains more common. 李千那 Li Qianna → Lee Chien-na

[27] Qi → Chyi I have noticed this exception. However, I’ve only personally noticed it for this surname, so maybe it’s just a convention for 齐. 齐秦 Qi Qin → Chyi Chin 齐豫 Qi Yu → Chyi Yu

[28] in ←→ ing In Taiwanese Mandarin, these sounds can be merged, so sometimes I have noticed ling and lin, ping and pin, etc. being used in place of each other. I don’t know this for sure, but I suspect this is why singer A-Lin is not A-Ling (her Chinese name is 黄丽玲/Huang Liling).

[29] you → yu I personally haven’t noticed these with other syllables ending in “ou,” only with the “you” syllable. 刘冠佑 Liu Guanyou → Liu Kuan-yu 曹佑宁 Cao Youning → Tsao Yu-ning

There is a lot of variation with these transliterated names. There are generally exceptions galore, so keep in mind that all this is general! Everyone has their own personal preferences. If you just look up some famous Taiwanese politicians, you will see a million spellings that don’t fit the 28 conventions above. Sometimes people might even mix Mandarin and another Chinese language while transliterating their name.

Anyway, if any of you know why 李安 is romanized as Ang Lee, please let me know because it’s driving me crazy.

Note: The romanized names I looked while writing this post at were split between two formats, capitalizing the syllable after the hyphen and not capitalizing this syllable. I chose to not capitalize for all the names for the sake of consistency. I’m guessing it’s a matter of preference.

So I was wondering if you wanna could you write something for Kai (overhoe in book) where he had a childhood friend that became a hero, or someone who goes to UA. "Come on Kai!" He saw you waving with a bunch of flowers, dirty flowers from the ground, as you had that stupid big smile on your face.

If only he had enjoyed more that time with you and that smile of yours though...

Overhaul wasn't a man with friends. He would always call the rarely, and honestly the ones who survived, the most loyal lackeys and commurates.

Asides from Chronostasis and you... He couldn't trust anyone to be his friend.

If his pride and goal havent blinded him at that time, he might have confessed his fellings for you. But no. He was a stubborn kid. He wanted you to confess. He wouldn't risk his reputation neutger humilate himself like that. Confessing fellings no less.

The past was burried deep for him... yet he couldn't forget about you...

Both of you took different paths. Him as a villain mafia boss, you what he most hated in this entire sick world. A hero.

One of the top ten heroes no less.

He never felt so betrayal in his life until the unforgiving day he trued to run away from.

Lemillion was surely a great oponent. But after Chronostasis had shot him, his quirk would be gone forever (sikes NO LOL get dunked on Chisaki).

This kid ruined his own life from wanting to be a hero so badly, was torned to simply misery and still had the audacity of screaming his old name?

"THAT'S NOT MY NAME ANYMORE!" He shouted and before a green hero kid tried to stop his attack he had hit Lemillion and Eri.

Well, at least he thought he had...

"Where have you gotten yourself into-" He widened his eyes at the voice before hissing and his own attack comung back towards it with ten fold.

"-Kai?!" You shouted angrily and lowering your hands.

He disintegrated the ro k and glared at you with a some sorta of calm yet dissapointed.

There you were. Wearing that stupid costume with that stupid cape waving as you stood in guard to protect those brats.

"I could ask you the same thing." He hissed as he sended another attack only for your pupils to contract and stop the wave of concrete with two of your fingers to send towards Chronostasis and Eraserhead to some sorta protect and try to help the hero in some way.

Your quirk was called Karma. The more you touched or any form of contact with your oponent you could retribute ten fold agaisnt them.

Stupid diseace.

"Cant you see what you're doing is wrong?! MAINTANING THE YAKUSA IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE SAFETY OF YOUR FATHER'S GRANDDAUGHTER?!"

"Hypocrite." He growled back before trying to touch you and end this already as you dodged as Midoriya helped the both you were earlier protecting.

"You work for those sick heroes! You are sick! Infected with this diseace im trying to cure! You have NO righton calling me out for my actions!" You hissed at one of zharp attack managing to scratch the skin of your arm at the point of bleeding, but you still had to distract Overhaul.

"YOU WERE SELLING A KID'S BLOOD FOR GOD'S SAKE! A LITTLE GIRL WHOSE IS ACTUALLY RELAGED TO THE MAN WHOSE CREATED YOU!"

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" he shouted as you gaspex at the intense attack he sended towards you and the gigantic pillar you were now on.

You really wished you had a quirk to fly now...

"You are on their side." You gazped at seing Chisaki was merely feet away from you, stood with eyes full of anger and... hurt?

You still could see through his eyes his emotions. It was a method you developed since childhood to understand Chisaki...

"Obviously." You said sternly in guard as he clenched his fists.

"So you abandomed me for getting sick..." he growled as his quirk started to cunction and you had to dodge from the sharp pillars he was forming as his head remained low.

"Left behind that bastard of a hero who killed your uncle." He emphasized that as you tripped and fell on your back as he started to cage you with the concrete and walk towards you.

"They threatened me! I would be abandoned at that time! What was I suppose to do?!"

"Seek an actual help from me since I WOULD DO IT!"

"Ha!" You laughed sarcastically "A person lile you doesn't want to help others! Just want money and things in charge! You dont know what is like to care about someone C-h-i-s-a-k-i."

"I CARED. I LOVED YOU." He shouted in anger as time seemed to stop for you as your eyes widened.

Your hair blew as Chisaki got up and rubbed his temple before his stoic face returned.

"You...what.. for real...?" you almost whispered as his eyes narrowerd and took his glove out aggressively.

"In the past. But not anymore, traitor-" before he could even touch you Midoriya jumped in and destroyed the tower with both Eri and you on his arms.

"(H/n)-san! Are you alright?!" You couldn't even blink as the tower was destroyed and Chisaki fell towards the ground...

If only you knew at that time...

Chisaki soon got up miraculously and overhauled his arm to search someoneto fuse with to get Eri nack as Midoriya got ready to fight.

If only you had told him the same way you felt towards him back then...

He was defeated. Left like a smashed bug on the ground as your colleagues helped you up and took you onto a ambulance for fiscovering both your right arm and left leg were broken.

What would have been...? Would you two actually be away from this fucked up way of living...?

You watched the van Chisaki eas put into got away as the ambulance you were in closed the doors and drove to an hospitap nearby.

HISTORY

Paring - Loki x Reader

Word count - 2,124

Warnings - None

This is my first fanfic so please don't be too harsh, but I would greatly appreciate some of your opinions on how i can improve my writing. Thank you.

It had been three days since you came to Asgard. Thor had offered to take you after hearing that your thesis was on Asgusrdian History. He had explained that the library was full of ancient knowledge. Of course it was mostly in Old Norse, but he showed you the section you would be able to read and understand.

Being an unofficial member of the Avengers came in handy when it came to your University papers. Of course you helped them when the time came but you weren't a true Avenger, you were neither trained in combat nor held any special gifts. But you were a tactician. And a good one at that. You already knew Tony and when he had asked for your help on a mission, you had to accept. Of course school came first but you could never refuse Tony of the help he needed. Especially when his life was on the line. And you helped save his life. On many occasions. He had asked you so move into Stark tower after that. Of course then the Avengers came and you became friends with them all.

Steve was easy to get along with, he didnt understand most of the references you made but he's always there for you. It was easy to tell Natasha anything and everything, her being the only other girl on the team made it easy for you to open up ro her. Bruce was smart, you didn't understand most of the things he said but being around Tony so much made you understand a little more than the others. Clint was a father figure to you. You knew about his family already, so you always went to him for advice Steve couldnt give you. But you never really understood Thor, after all he came from a different realm. And after witnessing first-hand what his brother did in new york you had found it difficult to trust him, thinking if Loki was capable of doing that then the other god could obviously do so much more.

But these past three days have been very helpful, you have been stuck in the Library reading non stop. The history of Asgard was a lot more than you expected. Thousands of years worth of wars, protests, evolution. It wasn't much different from the history on earth. The development was the same. The first war was about taking land and Asgard had claimed it. The second was about beliefs and claiming the opposing opinion was always wrong. The third was about a king who couldnt rule. So the Asgardians fought against him until his son took over the throne and ruled over Asgard better than his father ever did. It intrigued you greatly to find that you weren't that much different.

But it was today that you found out Loki was in Asgard. It scared you of course. After seeing the genocide in New York you never wanted to face him again. But Thor had pleaded about Loki's change of heart, explaining that he wouldnt hurt you or anyone again. He gave his word. So you trusted him. But when Loki entered the Library, you couldnt deny the fear that had crawled its way up your back. He sat down across the room facing you but his eyes were focused on the book in his hands.

Looking at him, seeing him again. It brought back the memories of new york, the way his eyes darkened whdn he found you in Stark tower. Powerless and scared. You heard Tony speaking to you in the earpiece, asking for your next move. But you couldnt speak, Loki had his eyes on you. You knew you had to tell Tony somehow. So when he came close enough you muttered to yourself.

"L-loki." He heard the fear in you voice, saw it in your eyes. And he grinned. He enjoyed placimg fear into peoples hearts. And you despised him. You heard Tony yelling at Thor to try and get eyes on you from outside. You hears the panic in his voice. But Loki didnt do anything to you. He went back to the portal device to talk the professor he had under his control. You told Tony quietly where in the tower you were and that is what gave them the upperhand.

But looking at Loki right now. It shocked you, he looked so peaceful. Like New York never happened. You didnt understand. But Loki felt your gaze om him and looked up, his eyes meeting your own. Your eyes widened and you shot your head down to resume your reading, trying to hide away.

His gaze lingered trying to recall why he recognized you, and when he remembered he felt remorse. You were the only human he didnt try to hurt in New York. He didnt know why he couldn't, maybe it was the look on your face. Or the knowledge that you couldnt move in fear he would do something. He knew you wanted nothing to do with him. He could tell you were struggling to be in the same room as him so he took his book and left to his chambers so he wouldnt bother you. That action put many questions in your head. Why did he leave? Did he recognize me? Was he trying to be kind? You couldnt comprehend his actions, but were thankful none the less.

It had been a week and you had read most of the books you used to help with your thesis but the last one you needed you couldn't understand. It was in English but it was very confusing to you. You knew Thor couldnt help because he had other things to do. And the only people you really spoke to during your time here were the servants who Thor had sent to give you meals and remind you to sleep.

That gave you one more option that you dreaded to even think about. Loki. He obviously loves reading, he came in daily to change his book and left immediately after, and he was Asgardian so he knew the history. But you just didnt want to face him. Your history wasnt a good one. But you knew you needed help. And he was academically smarter than Thor. You knew which room was his, you asked just so you could avoid it. He had avoided you to make you feel safer - or that's what you presumed at least. It was the last bit of information you needed for your paper so you had to do it. The sooner you did, the sooner you could go back home.

So you bravely got up and headed to the side of the palace you avoided at all costs. The layout was almost mirrored so it was easy to get around. Then you found his door. You hesitated for a moment. Contemplating if you should even do this. You hand was balled into a fist ready to knock, before the door opened by itself. You looked up to see Loki's radient blue eyes looking down at you in confusion with a raised brow. You dropped your hand to your side. There was a silence between you before you spoke.

"I need your help." An amused grin appeared on his face his eyes never leaving your own.

"Oh? And what could i possibly help you with that my dear brother cannot" His voice was dripping with sarcasm, obviously amused at your request for assistance.

"I need help learning Asgardian history and no one i know is academically smarter than you. You-you come to the library daily to change your books, so- its obvious you like to read" You were surprised you could form a sentence, let alone two. He broke you away from your thoughts with a chuckle.

"Yes i enjoy reading, it would be a pleasure to help you darling" Darling? The way he said it made your heart skip a beat. Was it the intimating tone? Or the fact he gave you a nickname. You couldnt tell. But for the first time ever you gave him a genuine smile.

"Thank you very much. I left my stuff in the Library, i didnt think you would accept my request." This time it was a lot easier to talk. His eyes weren't as dark as they were that day in New York. They were calmer, at peace. They were bright and full of hidden stories you wanted to read.

"Why would i refuse the request of such a beautiful midgardian" Your breath got stuck in your throat. He complimented the very woman he had frightened years prior. That fear that had been knawing at you for years suddenly disappeared. He felt lile a different person entirely. Thor was right, he has changed. Tony wouldn't believe it though. He would never trust Loki, you knew him well enough to know that. But your opinion of him has completely changed.

"Lets go then, i only have two more days to complete my paper." He nodded and closed his door leading the way even if you already knew where you were going, you didnt mind. You stayed by his side holding a small conversation until you made it to the Library. You sat down and explained what you didnt understand, he simplified the context so I would be able to gather the information I needed. You were just about finished when Thor came to check up on you. He was shocked to see you not just near Loki but speaking to him. He knew of your dislike for him so he didnt know what to do. You were facing the pages of the book so you didn't see him enter. He made his presence known by closing the door he had previously left open. You looked up and smiled as you saw him. You hand automatically gave him a snall wave before returning to your notebook.

"What are you doing here brother?" Thor obviously wanted answers so you didnt give Loki a chance to.

"He's helping me learn about Asgardian history! He simplified it so I was able to understand much better. Plus hes very knowledgeable."

"So you're okay? Being with him after last time i thought-"

"Yeah I mean I hesitated to even ask for help but I'm glad I did. Plus he has some very funny stories fron your childhood too. The stabby snake one is my favourite." You saw Thor's frown deepen knowing that Loki shared embarrassing stories of himself. But he was happy nonetheless. You were able to talk to his brother without the fear if getting hurt.

"How long do until your research is complete? Tony has asked me to escort you home once your done with your studies." You shrugged in response.

"Not long, about two hours or so." A smile made its way to your lips knowing youll be able to go home. But you heart ached at the thought of leaving Loki after befriending him so suddenly.

"But will Loki be able to come with us? He taught me so much about Asgard I want to show him earths history. I can take him to the museum I took you to when you were first curious." Thor was pondering your request to take his brother to the avengers tower alongside you. How would Tony react knowing you feared his brother? Would the rest of the avengers be okay with it.

"Theres a spare room across from mine he could stay in durin his visit. C'mon Thor. Please, its not very often that i get over my fears." You're eyes pleaded to him. Begging for him to say yes. You needed to talk to Loki about the modern literature on earth. You had plenty of books in your own room you could let him borrow. And it seemed like Thor knew he couldnt win this fight.

"Alright, Loki can you escort her home once you're done?" Thor had put every ounce of trust he had into his brother. He knew you weren't capable of combat but he also knew how similar the two of you were.

"Of course brother. I shall take good care if her, you need not worry." And then Thor took his leave. It was a good idea to bring Loki with you. Once you got home Tony was less than pleased at the sight of Loki, he begged you to hate him again and make him leave. But you wouldn't. You had to many things to show him. You had so much in common plus, in the short amount of time that you trusted him, he may have found his way into your heart.

Vivi x Lewis Headcaons!!!:

They met at the Pepper Paradiso. 🌶 Vivi went in one day for lunch to read a new comic and was distracted by a really cute waiter who took the time to help his little sister with her homework and color with the smallest sister. (Plus Pepper Paradiso 🌶 is one of the few places that allows dogs, so Mystery was always welcome.)

Vivi continued to make it her daily routine to come in, be it for only a shake or small soup or a full meal. Lewis, bless him, was oblivious of Vivi's crush, despite her very obvious flirting tactics.

"Can I get you anything else, Ms. Vivi?" "I'll take a tall glass of you." 😘 "Oh! Of course! The Lewis Shake, coming right up!" And proceeded to bring his mami's pinkurple milkshake.

(Arthur's uncle and Lewis's dad are good friends, and with it also being a small town, Arthur was already good acquaintances with Lewis and talked easily with him, much to his friend's, Vivi, surprise. She tried to get some help but Arthur wasnt much help. Men.)

Very quickly, the four became close friends and formed Mystery Skulls.

Lewis's parents noticed the crush and were not only looking forward to potential grandchildren, but Mami had to step in and offer the idea that the Yukino girl might like him.

At first Lewis just laughed and said they were only friends. But he thought about it more and more and started to see her a little differently.

One day, Lewis was looking for a new comic and he was ecstatic to find a limited edition Sailor Moon🌛 artist book. He went up to the front desk, pleasantly surprised to find Vivi running the register.

Upon learning of Lewis's love for Sailor Moon, Vivi went to the back and got a DVD set of every episode ever and bought it for him. He said he'll only allow it if she comes over to watch it with him. And so their first date was in his room with pizza 🍕 and PJs and Sailor Moon🌛.

Vivi bought Lewis an alpaca when she saw a cute pinkurple one at a store. He slept with it every night and named it Sapporo.

Vivi knows a good chunk of Spanish 🇪🇸 thanks to mandatory high school classes and living in Texas 🇨🇱, where nearly everyone at least knows the basis, but Lewis only knows a few words in Japanese 🇯🇵 thanks to anime, and he decides that isn't good enough. He goes as far as to an online class on the language and surprises Vivi when he one day can hold a full conversation with her in Japanese 🇯🇵. Vivi is a little emotional and blames allegories on her watery eyes, because no one outside of her family ever spoke Japanese 🇯🇵 with her, meanwhile half the town speaks Spanish 🇪🇸 with Lewis.

Vivi might have had a crush first, but Lewis falls in love faster and and harder.

Yes they go out on dates and Mystery Skulls missions, but their best dates are in Vivi's apartment or in Lewis's bedroom and watching cartoons.

Lewis may have introduced Vivi to Sailor Moon🌛, but she introduced him to Gravity Falls 🌲.

Ironically, Vivi likes hanging out at Lewis's better and Lewis likes hanging out at Vivi's. Vivi loves all the noise and sisters and smells and the pure chaos. Lewis loves it too, but it's nice to take a break and enjoy the quiet, small, clean apartment.

Once when eating ice cream, Lewis was watching two moms feed their children the sweet treat and he smiled and thought outloud, "Our children will be so beautiful... I bet they'll be troublesome lile their Mama." And he stops chuckling when he notices Vivi choking on her sundae.

Vivi and Lewis called each other things like, "Cariño/a" and "mi amado/a," Lewis has called Vivi "Hermosa" a few times and Vivi once made him scream "DON'T!" by calling him "Papi chulo."

Vivi will sometimes call Lewis "Calaca" lightly or as a joke. Lewis actually thinks it's funny, but Arthur CANNOT call him that.

The Dead Beats have been unofficially adopted. Vivi calls herself "Mama" and Lewis "Papa" around them and even calls Arthur "Uncle Arthur" in front of them. Mystery is, of course, godfather.

My, have the turns tabled. Vivi can now pick Lewis up, who is lighter than air. He was embarrassed at first but it would be a lie to say he doesn't like it.

While many physical signs of affections have to change or disappear thanks to no longer jaw, Vivi and Lewis found it hardly matters, as long as they're together. Holding hands or touching foreheads or snuggling are all they need. But that doesn't mean Vivi doesnt sneak kisses on Lewis's skull here and there. 💋

Vivi introduces Lewis to meditation 🧘‍♂️ to help his intense emotions, mich calmer now but still part of being a ghost. Souls are emotional, what do you want? While often Lewis does it alone, sometimes Vivi will meditate with him. 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

Vivi can give a good massage! Lewis may not feel pain as much as he did in life, but his bones to get stiff and sore, and Vivi also focuses on massaging his chakras to help his soul feel better. And, bless him, can not give good massages. He just doesn't know what he's doing, but Vivi lies through her teeth and claims he gives great back rubs.

Lewis is now THE BEST pillow and smuggle buddy! He's so warm and soft and Vivi could hug him forever if he would let her.

i literally choked on my pizza when i saw your writing and analyzing questions post, I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!! first of all, what sort of process do you go through when creating characters? what kind of things do you take into consideration when creating them? i’m fascinated because creating characters is far from easy, especially when you’re creating someone like agent mortem! i’m always interested to know what the writer’s thought process was when creating a new character!

okay, so secondly, i wouldn’t say i’m having trouble with keeping all my planning organised and ‘precise’ in a way, but it’s really not easy 😅 i was wondering what kind of processes you go through when planning, whether you have like a specific structure or a set of steps to follow, or if you just kind of roll with it? at the moment when i plan it’s okay and it makes sense, but it’s literally just 4 or 5 pages of really chunky paragraphs which makes it really difficult to pick out the events again when i come to needing the plan to help me. i don’t really know if you do anything different, but if there is any way you know of that i could keep it more organised and easy to follow, that would be great :)

i’ll keep the last ones a little shorter because this ask is already looking veryyy long — what have you enjoyed writing about natia, what struggles have you faced and what have you learned? and basically the same with agent mortem if that’s possible :) i have asked a LOT of questions in this, so don’t feel like you have to answer them all because it will probably take quite a while 😅 anyway, thank you for putting up with my endless questions, and i hope you have a good day <33

ROSE AH HELLO MY FRIEND!!!! <333 sorry ive just gotten to this omg! it’s been sitting here for a little while but i’ve just had so much going on right now and wanted to make sure when i answered that my *full attention* was put on this! (because i’ve been very excited to answer this ESPECIALLY as i see agent mortem questions poking up on here and that just makes me even more hype!!! :D enjoy! <3

Ooooo this is a cool question! I’ve been asked it before but I feel with different characters and such, it always seems to fluctuate for me at least? In the sense, it’s almost never the same process for me in the developmental stages of a character haha! Sometimes I get characteristics first hand, or sometimes a certain scene pops up that just makes the character click and I can build from there, or sometimes, it’s just a last name or a first name that I work with and suddenly have an idea for!

For example, since we’re on the general topic of Landslide, I’ll talk about some things I did when creating specifically Natia. The “Natia” who is currently portrayed in the fic, was not always really like that. Natia initially was not a SOE Agent/Polish Resistance Fighter and instead a Dutch Resistance Member who would meet with Easy in Episode 4. I always sort of knew Natia, in whatever form she was, would meet Easy in Episode 4, but I wasn’t sure how, so the building in the first 17 chapters was the toughest part to come.

I did heavily feel the Polish were underrepresented in terms of the situation of the war along with everything that happened in the Warsaw Uprising and so I felt it was important to see if I could do something with that and that’s really where Natia came into play!

Natia means “hope” essentially and something I really like doing with her character is to parallel or juxtapose different ideas together, to continue on this sort of theme of her being a quite ominous and ambiguous character — you get the general sense of what her morals are, but in certain points it’s questionable. Morally-ambiguous characters have always been fascinating to me, especially female morally-ambiguous characters and so creating Natia in that respect I felt would be interesting to see what I could do!

Something major that I’ve slowly began to take into consideration with characters more and more, is the sort of general theme I want to be present with them — what’s that goal i that they are moving towards in the end and what’s the them surrounding it? For Natia it’s a multitude of things; family, revenge, being silenced, numb, grief, mentor vs protégé, lone wolf etc….the list could truly go on! And with these basic sort of ideas and themes, I can then move on from there and expand.

Why did she want REVENGE? Because the enemy killed her FAMILY, which is extremely important to her, and she wants to feel some sort of REDEMPTION for them.

Why was she BEING SILENCED? Because of the *past* conflict of the HARMFUL MENTOR VS SILENCED PROTÉGÉ situation that occurred between Agent Mortem and herself, where she allowed herself to be silenced by someone who abused the SUDDEN POWER he never had before in his life, ultimately leading to her continued issues of TRUST that she would meet throughout.

Why is she NUMB? Because at a fairly young age she experienced heavy and intense GRIEF that struck unforgivably at a time where it seemed things were safe. To rip something from a character, especially the main character, like FAMILY which is extremely important, you pull at the heart strings and it makes that character move forward on a quest for that in a way, ultimately by the end of the fic. (Basically you up they are least get a semblance of that lost thing, found again by the end)

Why is she a LONE WOLF? Because of the MENTOR VS PROTÉGÉ situation yet again, where she was taught to rely strictly on herself and no one else and so when TRUST and COMPANIONSHIP and TEAMWORK were introduced to her character, she didn’t know how to cope because she had been so desensitized to the ways of Agent Mortem that working back in the morals of family and friends was a challenge in its own respect.

It’s sort of a like a ripple effect if you think about it and that’s what helps me eventually move forward and develop the character arc I want to take place. She’s this way because of this — sort of like cause and effect. It’s really helped me out with major scenes or plot holes that have risen throughout the fic!

AGREED! Writing in general is not an easy feat and now including mind you ORIGINAL CHARACTERS, you’re literally, essentially, creating human beings from scratch and giving them characteristics, a backstory, trauma if you wish, friends and family, people they love, people they hate, morals, standards EVERYTHING! ITS INSANE! AH AND AGENT MORTEM! I’m so very glad that you brought him up, because his creation definitely stemmed directly from the want to experiment with the relationship of failed mentor vs protégé, entirely. I wanted a foil to Natia that was not directly with her all the time. Mortem plays such a MASSIVE role in her story and yet any interactions between the two are either from her mind or from memories and that’s just such a fun way to play around with their dynamic! (I just finished the creation of his backstory and character arc I want him to take and it’s only made me even more excited for what’s to ultimately come for him as well as Natia!)

A song that HEAVILY represents their dynamic is Ghost by Marvin Brooks (2WEI) and I’ll explain why. Even though Mortem is not always inherently *with* Natia, he still is a huge factor of her life, and still heavily controlling many aspects of her life such as recurring memories, reactions, and how she is also conditioned to react to certain things as well. He is essentially a “ghost” who is “haunting” Natia and I feel that’s an interesting take on their connection because they’re two people who clearly had a power struggle and a difference of opinions of multiple things and that just makes it so incredibly interesting to write!

OOOOOO good question!!! So many people have such different ways of approaching story writing and planning and drafting and writing and editing and it’s honestly amazing!! I will say, I’m not an excessive planner or even a real great planner with writing, I never really have, and even as I’ve developed my writing and learned that “it’s okay to slow down”, or “it’s okay to take time for different portions to provide a deeper focus”, I still have not been someone to plan out every bit of my writing.

Reason being is I enjoy seeing where I can take the story in that time and place. Maybe if I’m doing a quick little writing segment and suddenly this idea just appears and hits me, I work it into the fic and it takes it a whole new direction and I end up not being super upset about it because it just…it works! And of course, this is not how other people operate and I have every respect for people who plan and have every detail laid out and figured out and just….completely and utterly planned to the dot. Lile kudos to people who genuinely get the planning all cleaned up before even writing, truly.

I just finalized Agent Mortem’s backstory and where I want his character arc to go and I’ve had him as a character since August of last year LOL! But ya know sometimes, I sit and I think back and go, maybe I wasn’t ready at that time to develop him completely yet because I, the writer, didn’t understand him enough to and I had to write more of him to be able to get a grasp of who he was and his character (and just about everything else!) and that’s okay!!! :)

Going with this idea I just stated above — the 4 or 5 pages of info — KEEP IT MY FRIEND!!! I swear, half the reason ideas even come to me is simply because I just write a big info dump that has all my little ideas somewhere inside and will ALWAYS be there. I recommend maybe taking a day though - away from focusing on writing or editing - and just picking that apart. (That’s what I did the other day and it helped me out MAJORLY! and it was worth it in the end!) Maybe keep the original 4-5 pages and then copy and paste the same thing in another doc so you always have the original!

And then just go through and split ideas apart! If you start reading and see it moving into another realm of headspace of ideas, just press enter and separate the two — you didn’t delete it, it’s still there and still intact! It’s just easier to look at now because instead of two, jumbled and completely different ideas, you now have two paragraphs and portions of text that relate to their own respective idea. It definitely makes it an easier pill to swallow when trying to get yourself organized!!

This really helped me when I was in my beginning stages of figuring out Landslide ESPECIALLY the first 17ish chapter where Natia was not in contact with Easy yet. I’ve explained it before but those chapters are there because we are seeing her final days with the resistance in Warsaw and how she ultimately ends up with Easy PLUS we see who she is as a character by herself and how she is not merely an extension off of Easy, but her own character, her own person. She has her own story and her own morals and ways of going about her life that don’t even relate to Easy. Their paths just happened to cross!! :)

By getting those first 17ish chapters planned, not extreme planning though I will admit, half the scenes were very much thought up on the spot for example like Natia driving to Munich in disguise or the introduction of Zdzich — two very important scenes that show us something about Natia. (1) She’s willing to go to extreme lengths for the people she loves to ensure that in the end they are safe, even if it means sacrificing herself and (2) she has trouble realizing that there are people out there that genuinely care for her, a connection to her ultimate, unruly and upsetting past. And the best part about it is THESE WEREN’T EVEN PLANNED! So sometimes, just let the story take the reigns and your mind and just guide you through it. Sometimes it is for the best :)

If you have your basic ideas and concepts and themes for how you want your fic to eventually go, the scenes for me most of the time just appear I guess when they should. Sometimes even in the times I'm not writing, I sit theorizing and questioning and thinking and developing ideas in my mind and it's a real good exercise, so when you get back to writing, you already know where you want the fic leading in the end!

MAN I LOVE THIS QUESTION. Anytime I can provide some meta or give some insight to Natia who is just one of the best characters I’ve gotten the pleasure of working with, I’ll gladly answer!

The thing I enjoy writing about Natia the most I feel, and I’ll probably always say this, is her complexity — as a writer, her character orders a healthy challenge for me that I gladly have accepted! You don’t know everything about her as a reader and as you read each chapter, that’s how you slowly uncover and discover what she hid about herself to protect herself. There’s so many different aspects of her that I could discuss truly!! (There has been so many parts that I’ve scrapped because I read through and just think “Man this doesn’t seem like Natia!”. She’s tricky sometimes to stake down exactly how she would react because of her past and her trauma and how long she’s been in war, but I just LOVE it!)

Many different aspects of her character though, come from her past and that’s what makes her interesting. I’ve really enjoyed working with the ideology of “Chekov’s Gun”, a writing device that can be used, with how I will mentioned something and it almost might seem out of the blue, yet later it all just makes sense?! When the flashback is revealed or a small portion of her past is finally allowing *light* in. It's a device I've used with Natia that has just really helped to develop her story at the pace I want it to be revealed! :D

For example, the OCEAN is mentioned many times. I make constant reference to the WAVES, the RECESSION of them from time to time, the comparison of the OCEAN both ABOVE and BELOW surface — all of that sorta stuff! For her character, it seems a bit out of place. She’s COLD. She’s NUMB. She’s BROKEN. What does an open body of water consuming at least 70% of the Earth have to do with an OC based in Warsaw, Poland?

This is where the importance of her PAST will play it’s role, as it has a major INFLUENCE on her and her CHARACTER and her MORALS. One of the main reasons the OCEAN is inherently connected to Natia is because of her PAST and one of those main reasons is AGENT MORTEM and her TRAINING, especially WATER training. I can’t comment further on this though as readers have only touched the tip of the iceberg for the use of the OCEAN and it’s IMPORTANCE so far in this fic! (Ask me again about it once this fic is finished up for the most part, unless….by Part 4 readers understand why!)

Natia just remains a character who constantly is developing and changing inside my head - where I want her path to ultimately end up leading by the end of the fic, where I want both her mental head space vs emotional head space should be and etc. So many portions of this fic are dealt specifically on her internal monologue and how she calculates and problem solves from that portion of her sort of *engagement* within the conflict. There never seems to be a dull moment when writing her!

Another thing I really have enjoyed about writing Natia is her clashing personality traits that make her interesting to write in both different scenarios and reactions. She's stubborn yet humble. She's numb and cold but internally extremely caring and giving and filled with these bottled up emotions. She's mentally strong yet she's been through so much and let the war take so much. She never complains about what she's doing, but she's lost nearly everyone she loves. She's a fighter in this war and refuses to back down from a battle she know she can wage, but the second she is pulled from the aspect of war, things crash and burn around her. Just even these few combating sort of things, really show her character and what, through writing, has slowly developed! They always lay around in the back of my mind and it's one of the main things I remind myself when I write Natia all the tme.

I think one of the most important things I've learned from both writing and creating a character like Natia is that (1) it's okay to ask for help, about anything, literally anything. You don't have to confine everything to yourself and build up this immense pressure to do what you must to continue moving forward. It's okay to have people there to help you and support you. (2) It's okay to be strong alone and even if you seem to be the only one on the current path you're are on, it does not mean you are wrong. it can still lead to the right destination in the end!

Oooo okay! AGENT MORTEM!! I am totally down to chat about some things I've loved to write with him with and some challenges I've discovered, but as far as what I've learned from him, I will be holding off and could answer that when the entire fic is both completed and then updated on platforms....just because ;) don't want to give away any spoilers haha! <3

Something I've enjoyed about writing and crafting Agent Mortem is letting him remain as mysterious and secretive as he is for so long. Initially, I can't even begin to recall what his character would be like even a year ago, but seeing where he has developed now, I'm really happy with where he is. He's mysterious, he's shadowed, he seems like a figure in the background, a past mentor who is half deranged and lost his mind with a background with so substance. It makes for such a fascinating way to begin to reveal his past! (something I've began to insert into part 4 of Landslide and man I'm just so HYPE!)

I feel I'm excited simply because he's finally getting the time and moment he deserves to finally explain and show himself as to what has occurred. There's so many fractured and disconnected parts of what is currently going on with Natia and her connection to both Agent Mortem and then Death is tossed in the mix and it seems this big complicated mess of 'how' Agent Mortem got to be this way, 'why' he does a thing such as this, just different and varying aspects such as that. it makes for those big final reveals to all be even more worth it!

He has been quite the challenge though I will admit. There's so many perspectives he could quite possibly be viewed from and his *character* + morals/values could be pulled in a various amount of ways as well. Making sure he accurately comes across the way I want him to both appear and come across to the reader and to myself has definitely been tricky. He's not as easy as suspected, you know, not just a 'dude who had a bad day and went insane in the end', there's a whole multitude of levels and reasons and a deep, heavy and traumatizing background starting from his birth really (which is a whole other story). Managing and balancing that all in one has definitely been something I've had to keep on top of and monitor but I feel has really been worth the challenge in the end. Because at the end of the day, I'm someone looking to constantly challenge myself.

And a good challenge, whether it be writing or academics or a workout, is healthy and GOOD! That's what Landslide in a whole has really shown me, to challenge yourself daily to see where you can push yourself and your imagination and creativity, just to see where you can even go!! it's exciting and refreshing!

What A Year As A Small Business Owner Taught Me About Sustainability, Upcycling, Thrifting, and Running a Brand

In Summer 2019, I launched the first collection of my sustainable clothing brand, Dauntless Denim, curious to see how people would respond. While I did not focus on creating an array of clothes, I decided to focus on thrifting and upcycling denim jackets, which was something I had never tried before. In short, thrifting and upcycling are two specific ways we, as consumers, can keep our planet cleaner. This process was exciting but challenging, and I definitely learned a lot. Here are some important things I learned along the way.

1. If You Can Upcycle, Do It!

Upcycling is a way consumers can reuse something they own by transforming it into something new and unique. In my own life, I began thinking of ways I could practice sustainability, which involved trying on a more personal level to keep myself from getting rid of clothes I didn’t wear anymore. I decided to upcycle thrifted denim jackets that I found at a local secondhand shop. I gave the jackets a new life by sewing on colorful fabrics that were bold and eye-catching. Upcycling is a great way to make something new out of what you already own and encourages creativity and self-expression. Upcycling is also environmentally-friendly because it helps reduce what goes into a landfill, such as clothes. With all of this in mind, I encourage you to find a piece of old clothing in your closet (or even something laying around your house) and consider upcycling it or, rather, transforming it into something completely new and reimagined.

2. When In Doubt, Thrift.

Before I started Dauntless Denim, I had gone to Goodwill a few times to look for some old clothes I could wear again. However, it wasn’t until I officially started my business that I had truly learned how great thrifting was for the environment. I found a local secondhand shop near my house and decided to stop in and see what it was like inside. There were organized racks of clothes of all kinds (e.g. sizes, colors, brands). It was incredible to see so many items ranging from men’s to women’s to kids that were for sale. Immediately, I headed to the denim section and soon discovered a rack of old denim jackets that I could use for my first denim jacket launch. I picked out a few pieces, which were way cheaper than the original price (a perk of thrifting!), and left the store feeling happy and accomplished. All in all, I encourage you to thrift whenever possible. Not only does thrifting help reduce clothing waste, it also helps support your community and establishes your new sense of style. You can also (often) find high-quality clothes for extremely low prices, which is a win-win! Lastly, thrifting is a better option than shopping at fast fashion brands. Consider thrifting at your local secondhand shop for some fresh clothing finds.

3. You Can’t Be 100% Sustainable, But You Can Try And Do Your Part

Another thing I learned about owning a sustainable small business is that not everything you do is going to be 100% sustainable. Like many other companies and brands, there is never going to be a way to be fully eco-friendly, whether it be in supply chain or production practices. In other words, there is still going to be waste of some kind and the environment will still be impacted in some way, shape, or form. However, what helped me in the early stages of planning my business was that if I can try and do my part for the environment (in my case, it was upcycling denim jackets in order to keep them out of landfills), I could feel lile I am doing what I can to help keep the environment a little bit cleaner. I also realized that even if I do my part in trying to help the planet, I am not capable of impacting the environment in such a large way that the climate change crisis is magically solved. Knowing this, though, I still feel like I need to do my part, even in a small way, to keep my community cleaner and more educated about sustainable practices, including upcycling and thrifting.

4. Cultivating Your Own Ideas & A Brand Takes A Lot of Brainstorming

Something else that I had to take into consideration when I pondered whether or not I wanted to start my own business was what my brand was going to be centered around and what types of ideas I had that would help distinguish me from other brands. I began brainstorming what I envisioned my brand to look like. What was I passionate about? What was feasible and within my skill set? What did I want to potentially sell? All of these questions were top of mind when I first started to wonder what I was going to do with my business. Then, I began trying to think of ways I could create a unique brand that was unlike others I had seen before. That’s when I decided to take the route of sustainability and upcpcycling, which was honestly something that I had been thinking on and off about earlier. Upcycling was also something that had crossed my mind a few times, but I had never really sat down and thought about how I would implement it into my business model. The moral of the story is to not be afraid of starting your own business! The entire process is exciting and motivating. However, it is important to keep in mind that it does take a lot of time and effort to create a brand that is equally unique and feasible. Make sure you are passionate about what you’re doing and don’t be afraid to think outside the box and get outside your comfort zone a little bit.

5. Social Media Marketing Taught Me More Than Just Marketing!

For me, creating a sustainable brand, and a business in general, meant that I had to spend a lot of time brainstorming and researching the different ways I could effectively create products and also engage with consumers and my community. For example, I had to practically teach myself how to do social media marketing and use Etsy as a platform to sell my products. While this was indeed time consuming, I learned a lot about myself throughout the process. First, I learned that I have to always stay on top of trends in order to sell products (mainly denim jackets and later on, masks) that would catch the eye of the consumer and be relevant enough to do well among similar products. Secondly, I learned that when using platforms such as Instagram to show off my designs, I have to be deliberate in terms of what I post, when I do it, and what I choose to write about in my captions. The more time I spent on social media, the more I learned the ins and outs of digital marketing and the ways I could target consumers. Thirdly, I learned that I have to be patient during this process. Many times since I started my brand, I got too frustrated with myself when something didn’t go right. I immediately wanted to give up and I began questioning what I was doing and if being a business owner was even the right path for me. However, once I took a step back and learned to not put so much pressure on myself for things that didn’t necessarily go right the first time, I could approach each and every situation with more understanding and more clarity. As a result, this helped me market my products better on social media and reach a larger audience that really felt connected to my brand and what I was selling. Looking back on my experiences, I wouldn’t trade being a small business owner for the world.

I feel like the "who is Christopher" argument has become so torn down mainly because of ASP's main intention for Rory to mirror her mother's life and trajectory, only in a different way, and because a lot of Logan fans just don't want to accept the fact that the character they proclaim to have been Rory's most perfect boyfriend is actually not only imperfect, but a deliberate parallel to the man who wasn't interested in being a present parent for Rory even when he could've been as an adult. This along with the fact that Rory will now apparently have their kid and likely raise it herself, given the ending of AYITL, is likely just having them be faced almost forcefully with the fact that this character isn't actually what they want him to be, hence the incoming "but Rory isn't Lorelai!/Jess is her Christopher!" arguments, or even the ridiculous "Rogan is actually Emily/Richard!" one. If we were to even try and fit all the comparisons to these obviously they would fail, since Rory isn't a complete carbon copy of Lorelai and comparing Jess to Christopher is ridiculous because Christopher never really left Lorelai, he offered to marry her at 16, she rejected, and he took to thinking that now he apparently has no obligation in developing any sort of lasting bond with Rory that goes beyond her being connected to Lorelai. But the archetypes for Logan and Christopher are pretty distinct and obvious, which is why ASP even created the character in the first place.

And personally I don't agree with her plan or with the logic that Rory's life somehow has to mirror Lorelai's in the form of a sudden pregnancy while being at crossroads in her life, mainly because as we saw in the revival, it just doesn't work properly, since what we got was filled with numerous plotholes and loose ends than tied up ones. But the Christopher/Logan comparison has been one that she's stuck to ever since she created the character, and it's one that pretty much takes up a majority of his writing and screentime, even if I were to take season 7 into consideration. Conversations like the one you had in your post about how characters can be a combination of characteristics from others, like in the case of Rory and Jess, are actually very interesting, but in most cases rogan fans just take to yelling about whichever parallel is more appropriate for them to argue that actually their ship is endgame. It's either Jess is Christopher or their ship is Emily/Richard or "Rory is not Lorelai so it's worthless if Jess is her Luke". Like the last one in particular makes no sense in terms of wording, but I digress. Main point being, you can easily argue that there is more to a character that you like than the archetype that the writer built him off of without coming up with even more ludicrous "parallels" that make no sense and are never shown in the narrative. Discussions like how Jess and Lorelai are similar is actually pretty interesting because it might not necessarily be a parallel that is intended in the narrative, but it's a product from the same writer who loves these characters, and they're both tied to Rory in their own ways. Whereas comparing ships that generally have no sort of connection whatsoever (particularly when it comes to rogan and luke/lorelai) just for the sake of arguing that one is automatically better just falls flat, in my opinion. Of course the same can be said for jess and rory being compared to the latter but at least those both have their own interesting parallels. This obviously doesn't mean that Jess is bound to be Rory's Luke and behave the exact same way Luke did with Lorelai, but Jess doesn't have to do everything Luke did in order to become a closer friend and supporter to Rory, either.

Oh this is a really good reflection and clarification! For me, even though I know that ASP intended for GG to be a sort of cyclical story where Rory ends up becoming like her mother, I really don’t lile that kind of «bound to repeat the past»-trope. I do understand, acknowledge and even like all the parallells I see, but like you said, the «who is Christopher»-discussion and all the ones like it kind of cheapen the story. I currently ship Rory with Jess — I say currently because it hasn’t always been the case. As a kid I was only exposed to pre- and post-Jess episodes and I shipped her with Logan because he was the first love interest I saw. That’s not to say that I think R/ogan is a lesser ship, but rather that I grew up, learned English and saw the show with new eyes that just so happened to prefer her and Jess.

Now from that context one would assume that I like the «Logan is Christopher and Jess is Luke» concept, but I seriously don’t. It might just be personal taste, but I feel like that concept cheapens the story and relationship between Rory and Jess. He’s not the better fit for her because he’s «a Luke». He’s the better fit (in my opinion) because he’s Jess. And she’s Rory. And (again, in my opinion) they understand each other in ways no one else does and bring out the best (and often most truthful) versions of themselves in each other. So for some meta-prophecy to tie them to each other rather than what they have as individual unique characters, or for the debunking of said prophecy to discredit the relationship already written for them, is kind of pointless and a little bit disappointing. If Logan is the better boyfriend, it shouldn’t be because he represents her grandparents’ world (look I’m sorry I love Emily and Richard but being rich and sassy does not make you better than anyone else, nor better for Rory), but because he would understand and love her as she is in her entirety — and vice versa. If R/ogan shippers feel that way then great! If they’re more obsessed with discrediting Jess through a meta-prophecy that my literati-shipping ass doesn’t even like, then too bad for them.

Also controversial sidenote: while I am in no way opposed to a «single mother Rory»-plotline, I would actually kind of like to see a potential revival of the revival start with her choosing to have an abortion. I know that could be a very unpopular opinion, and I genuinely have no problem with people disagreeing with me, it’s just what I feel. Rory choosing an abortion could not only break the meta-prophecy but also create a unique plotline that can both bring in new intrigue and prove itself to still have parallells to the past. Also I really would like for Lorelai to be supportive of Rory’s choice — even if her choice is to terminate a pregnancy.

Emiko's Family

Info: Emiko's family are very family and welcomes people with open arms. But the leader (which is his uncle) of the house that Emiko is living is very strict whenever his family is living under his rules or visitors and most quest fear him, but he is kind and understanding person who never gets angry.

Overview: Depite her family didn't appear in twisted wonderland, they appear in her dream or flashback when Emiko remembers their advice they give to emiko, childhood memory or how they motivate her.

Family members

1. Eito Sato (Emiko's father)

- Eito is a very kind and gentle father towards Emiko and his family. Due to his gentle aura, almost every lady in the neighbourhood and young teenagers wants to date me.

- Eito understood Emiko's self esteem & never push her to do things that she is not interested.

-Eito is left handed.

- Eito loves to read books & news papers and sometimes he read fairytales or children story books towards Emiko whenever she is to afraid to sleep. Sometimes he read bedtime story with his daughters or nephew.

-Eito is very intelligent and he has a high diploma after he graduated college.

- Eito gets along with his wife and sometimes he brings flowers for valentines or their anniversary date.

- Emiko and ayaka gets along because emiko helps her mother in the house and her mother helps her in fashion of choice or read magazines together.

- Ayaka gets upset whenever emiko or daughter dress inappropriate or messy but doesn't give harsh scolding but a gentle one that her daughters won't forget.

- Depite working as a house wife, she is good at chemistry and her favourite subject. She stills love sher subject and does chemistry project without harming her family in the house.

- Ayaka loves fashion and often buys magazines to read it and sometimes she buys clothes that are her favourite, taste or latest.

- Aneko personality is cheerful, energetic and loud. Sometimes she is quite when she is around with Emiko, in the library or in her home.

- Depite her cheerfully personality, she gets angry when people push her limit or when someone tries to harm emiko and goes into her protective sister mode.

- Aneko favourite sports is netball & volleyball.

- Depite being a tomboy, she loves to collect seashells at the beach and she use this seashells for her little sister to paint or to make it into a seashell necklace.

- Aneko is right handed

-Aneko is quite popular in her school and often hangs out with netball members or her classmates.

- Depite this, she invites Emiko to hang out even though Emiko is afraid of taking to strangers or people.

- Aneko brings her to the gym to help her little sister to exercise without any people and teaches her to be brave even though Emiko is scared.

- When kagaya met Emiko since childhood, he starts to fall in love with her.

- Kagaya wants to confess his feelings to her, but doesn't have the courage to speak. Worry that his feelings will be reject by Emiko

- Kagaya understood her personality and willing to help her to make her to love herself.

- When Emiko is busy with her club, Kagaya walks with her as a company when they go home to their family house

- Himari and ayaka are actually distance mce relatives and they get along as sisters

I mean, all of them. But probably the probably the one you want to watch out for the most is Aurora. She has spent her entire life training as a soldier, and if she doesnt have a weapon to hand could probably improvise one out of anything. Plus, while she predominantly uses her magic for healing, she can still use that to hurt you. Lile summoning a spectral greatsword. Dont mess with Aurora's Tomomi or anyone else from The Squad (especially Elowen. She’s very protective over her lil plant brother.)

4) Has a dysfunctional family

Probably Aurora again. Early years anyway. She grew up in a temporary barracks with a shifting collection of adults to look after her - most only staying a few months - with no other children to play with and her only form of education was learning to use different forms of weaponry and how to plan a battle. She didn't hate her childhood, but it certainly wasn't good for her. Plus, even when her parents were alive they were not amazing at looking after her. Sure, they loved her and were technically good people, but they had no idea how to take care of a child and she spent a lot of time being lonely and missing them even before they died.

7) Is a sweet angel

Ever. Ever is the most precious of my ocs, they will look after anyone and always have some form of freshly baked goods on hand. They run a retirement home for fernhounds and have several empty bedrooms in their house in case anyone needs a place to stay. They know how to make the perfect cup of tea and once they've made a cup for someone they'll always remember how they like it.

Y'know what, I'm gonna say Luna for this one. And it is ENTIRELY because she is doing it with Ashal. Ashal saw those weird wobby birds and decided she needed one. And when has Luna ever been able to say no to her twin. She would do anything, no matter how dumb, for her sister. Including stealing a penguin.

Obvious answer, Luna. Look at her daughter. So big and shiney. Luna is very proud of Aurene.

Other obvious answer, Sol. He took one look at Nyx and realised he is very weak for that dragonvari. Its why he keeps coming back despite having previously been full nomadic. There is a very pretty dragon and he cannot resist that smile.

I would just like to clear, I don't hate the BBC Dracula 2020 Show. In fact, I actually like the idea of Dracula being set in modern times like in the show, but I would like it a lot better if it wasn't written like a fucking reader insert fanfiction.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some reader inserts every once in a while but they're meant to be on Wattpad. Sometimes, you can find really fucking good fanfictions that could genuinly be movies, but this really just feels like someone wrote an erotic fanfiction for Dracula. It almost reminds me of a worse version of 50 Shades of Grey with less kinky sex.

First and foremost Agatha Van Hesling. I actually kinda liked her personality, how driven she was and determined to never give up, but she was literally created for a love interest. In Dracula by Bram Stocker, Sister Agatha is a nun that nurses Jonathan back to health, claiming he was 'sick in the head' as he ranted of what he had seen and warning others of Dracula. She doesn't even have a last name.

However there is a Dr. Van Hesling in the book, hes dutch(???) Professor that mentors and taught(????) Jack Seward who was in love with Lucy, who was fed off of and eventually killed and eventually undead by the means of the one and only Dracula. Dr Van Hesling plays a large role in the plot of the book. He has an open mind and was able to draw connections between things that some others couldn't, as he had access to more sources and could speak to most off the charecters involved. He's the first person to present the idea of a vampire, and Lucy turning into one. Thanks to Jonathan he was able to identify the vampire feeding on Lucy as Dracula and finds out how to kill the vampires.

So basically Agatha was literally fabricataed for the sole perpose of being there, to fall in love with Dracula or something.

I know we all are horny for Dracula. I'm horny for Dracula. Vampires are fucking hot but the sexiest part of vampires is that they ya know. Kill you and are mercily and heartless. The show does show that in a lot of parts and even decapiates a nun and yeets it into a gaggle of nuns which i fucking died at. But it also, humanizes him way to much, hes literally a monster. The scene in the boat with lord whats his name really portrayed that. It was really,,,, weird cause me being a kinky fucker I don't find the particular phrases of "you're going to need to be quiet now," and " youre doing so well" that creepy and if anything a little hot but looking at the circumstance and the look on that kids face, it was like r e a l y fucked up. Which is why i liked that scene. It showed just how fucked up Dracula is.

To be fair i did like Cleas Bangs acting and casting as Dracula. He had a certain charm that was ever so s l i g h t l y off. I heard people say he just 'made up an accent' but fuck you guys its a fucking danish accent you incolent twats anyways. He could be really funny at times and i actually apprecited it.

However the casting AND acting of the modern parts is absolute shit. Ep.3 is where i kinda gave up on the show and finsihed it for the sake of torturing myself. FIRST OF FUCKING ALL LUCY i cannot fathom how P I S S E D i am about Lucy. Why did they have to make her a phone obsessed basic asshole with no regards to anyones emotions besides her own and the extent of her personality is 'getting likes on socail media is all i care about because it makes me feel validated so im gonna wallo in self pity because i was obiously written by white man in his 50s that would have made me white if he wasnt forved to throw in diversity points" like shut the fuck up steven king.

Also lucy and mina never meet??? Theyre in different fucking time lines??? Theyre friendship and love for eachother was fucking golden how dare you rob that form me and give me a garbage bag full of shit with a shiny little bow on top in its place jesus f u ck.

The cemetary scene was o k ay i gues?? I liked the little nod to the book with the bloofer lady and the concept of random sprits being undead because of unfinished buisness. But this really just felt like it was slapped in the show for the sake of going on a date with Dracula in cemetary. I actually kinda apperacted it but it just felt awkward.

Also who the f u ck is Lucy's friend? The gay one??? Like,,,, is that supposed to Arthur???? His chatecter was so fu king weird and offset he just didnt feel like he should be in there. Hes literally just there for a-50-year-old-man's-interpretation-of-young-women-now-a-days verson of Lucy to have a gay best ffriend.

Ok i not even sure if i want to talk about Quincy. It just hurts. It physically hurts me to think about how d i r t y they did my baby. His charecter is the defination of american chivalry, just as great as regular chivarly but with a little extra cowboy vibe. Quincy is jist the biggest,,,, sweet haert,, like he asked lucy to marry him in his cool american cowboy voice cause he knew lucy loved it and it always made her laugh. And even when she turned him down becayse her heart belonged to arthur, he stayed. All he wanted was for lucy to be happy and all he requested was that they stay frirnds. Hes also invovled with taking fkwn dracula although hes not a main charecter percice ly as he doesnt have any entires in the book he still has an amaizing precence and sometimes while reading the book ill be readying one of dr sewards passanges and think "huh i wonder what quncys doin. I hope hes dooin good. Cowboy vibes n stuffs" amd boy dles he do that. Everh dracula film adaptataion robs us. R O B S U S of quincy morris best scene. In the middle of dr van helsing ranting about vampires( thats basically what half of the book is. I could write a 4p minute mono louge of his rambling jesus how does sweard take note of all this) quincy litterally just walks out. And nobodg really pays any notice beside glancing ag his leave and shrugging at one anouther and going back tl listneing tl van helsing explaining his vampire fan theories quincy moris , the quincy morris from texathe untited states of the amerkca the land and the free and also cowboys.stands outside of the bouilding and pints his gun up at. Dracula whos in the shape of a fucking bat eves ddopping outside the window and just fucking,,shoots it. Now he doesnt hit it cause thatt wouldnt be as fun as brutally stabbing the fucker witja wooden stake. But S T I L L. And the fucking bullet hits the window that everybodys in anprobably causes arthur to shit himself the ppoor boy. Can you belive that theh didnt fucking flim thatfor any dracul? Now i i under stands why not put in this adaptation because quincy is only mentionsed like three god damned times. And when theh DK mention him jesusnshit they literally jsut made him some popular jock from amwrica just to conter jacks white twinky ass and then they had him propose to lucy in the middle of a fucking night club and she says yes???? Lile ok jut throw Arthur out a window then cause cause fu c k him i guess. And then after lucy dies he jjsy fucking moves ?? The only thing thta makes this version of qincy quinccy is the fu king name and fact hes from america

Ok now jack fucking seward. He reminds me of when ylu forget you had a pb&j in your back pack so in the bos after school you pull it out cause yoyr hungry and yoyr mom put WAY to much jelly on it so now its like. All obsorbed into the bread and joggy and squished. Just sad and really white. They even had some kid call him whate bread and they werent fucking wrong. His obly personality traits were ' omg i love lucy but shes a hoe ;,,,((' and being connected to Zoe.

Now last and definately least the god forbaden ending. Just thinking about it gives me a fucking head ache. So , jesus, zoe, who is agathas great niece or someshit, a d looks exactly like her (its literally the same fucking actress) is a detective lile scitist reasearching dracula. So dracula is illedatly attracted to her becasue he thinks shes like agathas reincarnation or soenshit. So he tries tk drink her blood at one point and spits it all out and pukes and sjit cause her blood is poisonous bevaise she has fucking c an c e r. So later we find out that draculas weaknesses ( the sun crucifix) arnt actually real hes just afraid of dying so he has like irration fears or some shit so for some fucking reason. They deside. Its a good iea to end the show with this:

Dracula fucking drinks all of zoes blood killing her and himself because her blood poisonus. And ghe fucking emd scene is them like,,, in the sun???? Or soemt hi ng??? And theyre naked and like presumably fucked and dracula says some shit like " its doesnt have to hurt" and i almost tore my wrist open wiith my teeth because of how shitty this ending is.

Not lnly is it disrespectful to zoe but agatha, agathas whole thing was K I L I N G. dracula she wanted him fucking D E A D she woULDNT FUCK HKM

And like just after finding out that he can be in the sunlight with out fucking dying and that crosses just make him umcomfortable or some shit he just desides to kill himself??? DUDE YOU JUST FOUND OUT YOURE PROACTICALLY MORE INVINCABLE THAN YOU WERE BEFORE AND YOU JSUT FUCKING OFF YOUR SELF ???
