Mutual was telling me If Damian was attracted to anyone, Jon would know purely for biological reasons. He'd smell the adrenaline, he'd hear Damian's pulse change, the breathing, all of it. People do release pheromones, we just don't make active use of them, but a kryptonian would notice and be affected. Jon would know before Damian did.
Damian would altnernate through excuses in his head of why it’s happening to him. Jon on the other hand can somewhat tell what’s happening but it wouldn’t click for him until he starts to do the same thing as well and he’s to put two and two together.

It's a minor pet peeve of mine when somehow de-powered Clark (usually via red sun radiation) is portrayed as just being a regular human. He's not.
Kryptonians are aliens, and logically, for Clark to be able to do all that he does under a yellow sun, Kryptonians should be able to do something similar (though far less powerful) under a red sun too. Why would Clark be able to take in energy from the sun if Kryptonians didn't do the same on Krypton?
A kryptonian under a red sun (or depowered Clark) should still have keener senses than a human and be able to see in more wavelengths; maybe still able to move a little bit faster than a human could or be a little bit stronger. Be more durable than a human too. The mechanism for heat vision would still be there, just less powerful (maybe emits closer to infrared?) Maybe a Kryptonian under a red sun can't fly, but they can glide/hover/jump a lot further.
Anyway, the point is: Clark's an alien. Even without his powers, he's still an alien.

The small amount of Conner/ Kon-el x male reader fics is sadden.
You know how Conner is half kryptoniton? Seeing your headcanons for Kryptonition's, what if Conner figures out that he loves the reader's scent and not really knowing why, so timidly starts stealing like a hoodie or two from the reader.
Bonus points: the reader already knows why, because he is responsible for being the historian for the alien cultures on earth.

You are so right about the lack of Kon x male reader content, it saddens me sometimes.
- I have always had the headcanon that scents and alike are important in kryptonian society, that in ancient times it was used more than speech at times. Like communicating intention, feeling or the likes.
- Its not used as much in modern time, though scents still play a pretty important part when it comes to finding a likely partner, or just scenting stuff that you own or good friends.
- Conner isn’t as extremely affected by the likes of scents and wants that a full blooded kryptonian might, but he still is effected by it to some extent, so when he notices your scent makes his chest rumble and makes him feel jittery all over he’s confused at first.
- He has very little knowledge about kryptonian biology at the time, and it also took him a while to realize no one could actually hear his purring. He later learns its because kryptonians purr as a frequency very few can hear, so he doesn’t have to worry about embarrassing himself.
- The pull in his chest isn’t as powerful as a full blooded kryptonian, but he is still extremely drawn to you and wants to be around you at all times if he can get away with it.
- The first hoodie he steals is an accident, some laundry had been mixed up and your hoodie ended up in his things on accident. Now, he was gonna give it back, but that pull in his chest wanted to keep it.
- He thought you might not notice a missing hoodie, so he kept it. Kon would go around wearing it in his room or when he was alone, even as your scent faded from the fabric over time, just knowing it was yours made him purr.
- As time went on, he got a little more bold, stealing more of your laundry or even stealing one of the blankets. He had gotten his hands on the blanket during a sleepover where a lot of your mutual friends, titans and alike had holed up in the living room to watch movies all night.
- He took your blanket “on accident” and brought it back to his room where he spread it on his bed and rubbed against it like an over excited puppy.
- Kon might even have started to scent you without noticing, rubbing up against you or hugging you for longer periods of time.
- It was when Kon started truly scenting you that you realized what was happening. Clark had allowed you to the fortress of solitude where you learned a lot about kryptonian history and biology.
- The information had of course been passed on to Kon as well so he could learn about it, but he didn’t seem to notice anything he was doing. Even after you two became official he didn’t notice how he was hoarding all your clothes and blankets.
- At some point you end up semi moved into Conners room because he already has all your stuff in there. He also uses you two dating as an excuse to be close to you all the time. Expect many cuddle piles and many kisses.
- Based on his kryptonian urges he will also be bringing you food or other offerings and gifts. You have a shelf for all the trinkets he brings you, there’s a lot of cool rocks on that shelf.
- Conner would want you to wear his leather jacket, because it looks cute on you but also because he wants you to wear it as a claim or to show you are taken.
- All in all he’s a sweetie who tries his best, so kudos to you for bagging him as a boyfriend, even though he steals your favorite clothes and hides them under his bed.

So, Kryptonians evolved under a red sun. Their vision would be different compared to what humans see.
With the majority of the light they see being red wavelengths (there are still green/blue wavelengths, but much less so), the cones in their eyes (or whatever analogous structure) would pick up colour differently.
Their blue and green cones would be much more sensitive than their red cones. Even without the powers of a yellow sun, their eyesight would probably be better than humans' (they might even be able to see colours that humans can't)!
However, they would likely be a lot more sensitive to bright lights as they have higher blue and green wavelengths. It would probably be very hard for them to look at (at least in their unpowered state, whether this would change when their cells are yellow sun-powered as they are immune to all sorts of damage is another thing to consider).
My point is: Clark grew up seeing colours differently than his peers. A lot differently. And before he developed his powers under the yellow sun, it's likely he was very sensitive to bright lights.
This is one way that he's always felt he's different. A subtle trouble within him.

Kryptonians canonically have telepathic abilities or at the very least psionic abilities. We’ve talked about the ridiculousness of the silver age catch-all of Super-Hypnosis that Clark would use to make people forget his identity.
It’s one of the explanations DC made to explain why only a simple pair of eyeglasses made such a perfect disguise for Clark Kent the mild-mannered reporter, so no one would suspect he was Superman. Because in Superman # 330, Superman apparently unconsciously hypnotizes everyone who looks at him to making them believe that his face is different than Clark Kent’s.
This has absofuckinglutley been retconned out of existence since but consider, this helps with a fun concept and I also do not care because at one point it was cannon so that means I’m right.
Consider: It’s not just used for disguising reasons.
If it can influence how people perceive kryptonians look, maybe it could also influence people into thinking they looked more human than they actually did.
Now, one thing that’s repeated again and again in Kryptonian society is that they are upheld to the high standard of being at the “peak of physical and mental perfection.”
So, what if this mentality of needing to look at the expectation of physical perfection also transferred unconsciously?
And Because Clark does this unconsciously, that would mean that he looks just a little different to every single person who ever looked at him. So, everyone would see Superman as more of their standards of what they think “physical perfection” means. Now, this would:
Result in literally every person thinking that Superman is ridiculously attractive (this includes ace folks. I’m ace. Doesn’t mean I can’t look at someone and go “they’re hot.” because again, personal idea of physical perfection.)
Would be a great intro into a fun side plot of Jimmy being the definitive Superman photographer because not only did he get the first clear photo of Superman, the telekinetic perception doesn’t fully transfer digitally. In a true “eye of the beholder” fashion, whoever takes the image sets the image how they perceive it. So as Jimmy is the one who showed the world their first image of Superman, Jimmy’s perception of Superman would eventually become The Definitive View Of Superman as it’s just what people would expect Kal-El to look like & so his Superman form would eventually settle into the same form he took in Jimmy’s first few photos.
But that’s just when he’s in his Superman persona. When he’s Clark Kent, he is his own perception of what an “average human” looks like. His frame is still very tall & wide (I mean, there’s no getting around that. have you seen how they draw the guy? His shoulders are a mile long) but it’s filled out in a way that looks very natural for a farm boy from Kansas. Like one of those guys who don’t work out but regardless are fairly muscular & look like they can lift a cow. It so depending on the circumstance Clark looks like a gentle giant who everyone in the office asks to help them lift heavy objects or very intimidating when interrogating a corrupt CEO during an interview, using his height and large frame to tower over them in a looming manner.
In both forms he keeps the eye color, hair color, and rough build because otherwise it would look like he was clipping through objects to onlookers.
As this is an unconscious process, even Clark doesn’t know he’s doing it. He kinda knows in the back of his head but it’s just not something he’s ever registered with conscious thought.
With that in mind:
- The Justice League gets captured by a big bad.
- In addition to other security measures to prevent them from escaping, there is a machine that, while in range of it, it creates a mental block for telepaths and psionic abilities on influencing others. It is intended so J’onn cannot find the hidden location of the Justice League to free them.
- But that’s not the only effect it had.
- Suddenly Bruce is able to see what Clark Actually looks like
- But not just Bruce, Everyone in the Justice League that was trapped (take your pick of who) is now able to see the unnaturally saturated blue eyes in their real hue for the first time
- They are so bright that a camera nor any human technology or earthly pigment would ever be able to reproduce or fully capture the piercing shade of blue that stared straight through their being.
- And his too many perfectly straight and white teeth
- His eyes that now look too large to naturally sit on a human-reminiscent face
- Clark’s brow furrowed when he noticed everyone staring at him. the hinge of his jaw opened wider than what a human’s limitations would allow when he went to ask what was wrong
- the base of his voice is still just a touch too loud
-but underneath his voice is an unearthly booming quality with base just out of human perception but it still sent shivers down their spines as it resonated with the frequency of the room
- The tendons shifting under his skin bulge and twist in ways that seem like they shouldn’t fit under his skin and the placement of muscle groups visible under his suit looked like someone tried to reassemble a human from memory
- His features are just suddenly. Off. Distinctly something other.
The mental mask falls away and the Justice League is able to see the slight wrongness about clark.
It's not the fact that he's a alien that makes their necks prickle, it's the age old instinct of something that looks enough like a human but you just know it's not.
And the ensuing chaos Would Be Fucking Amazing
Because, again, Clark Himself Doesn't Know He’s Doing It.
Addon that I was going to branch off of but decided to leave out of the final cut:
I feel like Bruce would honestly be relieved. It would answer a ton of his questions. Especially seen in Anatomy of a Metahuman, Bruce expresses extreme bafflement over How The Fuck Clark is so human-like despite being an alien. The fact that this would confirm his existing theory littered in small notes on the sides of his drawings in that book that Clark uses some kind of psionics for his powers, would be a huge relief because he finally has answers to how Clark works. Now he can apply proper adjustments to his contingency plans to account for this new discovery.
I just really enjoy the idea that Clark only looks human at first glance but when you take a moment to look at him closely, you can tell that something’s distinctly off about the guy.

Headcanons//Theories about Kryptonian Biology:
you know how there's like, this sea slug that looks like a sheep? and it eats algae that can photosynthesize, but it keeps the enzymes (idk if that's what they're called) that can ""eat the sunlight""?
HEAR ME OUT-- what if that's kinda what a kryptonian does when they get under the yellow sun?? i got three theories to that:
all kryptonians have these thingies, but they only work on yellow sun aka our sun and not on krypton's sun, hence why they didn't have powers there
Jor-El, when sending both Kal and Kara to Earth, injected sunlight eating enzyme thingies on their cells so they could survive for longer without resources (in space and all) and it mostly works on yellow sunlight
I like the first option better but whatever, until DC drops something to make me deny it, this is my headcanon

As someone from the Midwest I can tell you there’s no way Clark escaped the litany of Dads smacking him on the shoulder/chest as a young adult and going “Dang, you start working out or something?” to an awkward Kryptonian Clark who has never touched a weight in his life and thought he could get away with wearing baggy shirts and pants.
Now he has to construct an elaborate gym routine lie to satisfy the curiosity (and minor jealousy) of every dad who sees his arms flex a little too much at church on Sundays.

Gimme some fun kryptonian biology prompts/ideas, I know ya got some
- Kryptonians absolutely have that cat eye reflection thing when you shine light at them. I have zero doubts about this one.
- The planet Krypton has a fuck ton of gold. There are literal mountains of the stuff. Id love for Kryptoninans having to consume gold like we do with daily amounts of iron intake.
- Kryptonians on planets with yellow sun have VERY strong and durable skin. Their skin has the tensile strength of a fucking planet. When you touch them their skin does not give. Its like touching a flesh temperature block of steel. Trying to brush your hand through their hair? Yea no that shit does not move. Attempting to hug them? Feels like you’re hugging a concrete pillar. Kissing them? Yeah no that shit is the most unpleasant experience ever. There is no give to their lips while you kiss them.
I’ve seen like 5 fics in total explore this idea and almost all of them are NSFW. Sure that’s a cool thing to explore for an E rated fic but you could have that added to and be a part of SO MANY neat nonexplicit fics too!!!! Like these bitches cant really experience touch when you touch them because there is lo pressure, its like wind brushing over them. There is no sensation. These bitches cannot feel touch unless its someone as strong as them or bc of magic and normally that’s used against them. These fuckers prolly only associate touch with pain. Imagine the angsty shit you could do with that idea.
- Kryptonians can experience emotions that we simply cannot feel. Unsure what emotions exactly but they’re able to do it.
- Kryptonians turn green when exposed to Kryptonite.
- they can see colors that we simply cannot. I mean they have X Ray vision so why not?
- They fall under the uncanny valley. Clark does his absolute best to be unassuming because he’s just Not Quite Human. It puts people on guard and he does his best to put them at ease with his clumsy and bashful self

I like to imagine kryptonian x ray vision is actually seeing in the 4th dimension. So like, when their eyes look weird that's just a placeholder as their eyes move out of our line of sight. I get a kick out of imagining if you're in just the right place at the right time you can see disembodied baby blues.
X-ray doesn't work since they see details x ray machines don't see, and the way radiology works is you have the X-ray emitter and the sensor and what you're imaging is between those, it's not like echolocation and there's not enough natural x rays.

Kryptonian Headcanons
Theres quite a lot so i put it under the cut.
Something akin to a Caste system or “alpha/beta/omega”. Meaning some are born a higher caste and their biology reflect that. This doesn’t mean anyone is too above anyone else, bodies or biology are just slightly different such as muscle mass or appearance. Meaning some might have wider shoulders or slimmer hips, or even sharp ears like a halfelf in a fantasy setting.
This shows through ones “aura”, or things like how one carries themselves or how the primal part of ones brain acts and thinks. Things like appearance doesn’t have much say, as anyone can be smaller or bigger, it can only really be noticed through things like scent or “aura” aka the vibe one gives off.
One tends to be able to feel another caste just from their vibe, though its typically first noticed through things like clothing, as different clans wear different colours or styles, though its nowhere near as stark and different like ancient times.
Kryptonians purr, but it tends to be at a frequency only those with special hearing or other kryptonians can hear. Kryptonian purring like cat purring has healing and relaxing properties. They can also growl and chuff but that too is at a volume only picked up by other kryptonians.
In ancient times it was common to find a mate perfect for you, who fit you in every sense. It led to things like “the hunt” which was a ritual where the one who wanted to stake their claim, would chase the other, catch them, and they would bond. When bonded a deep connection was created by the two of more members, and it became as deep as being able to feel one others’ emotion.
This urge is much more diluted nowadays. When you meet someone who is compatible kryptonians will still feel it inside themselves, and if ignored for too long it can grow into a burning need inside their bodies. Though it can be supressed and even fizzle out if it is not returned by the other party.
But if left out of check the need and want can become borderline maddening. If kryptonians are not taught by clan or family from a young age how to deal with their primal urges it can become maddening, so when they meet their compatible partner, it can have effects. This can lead to the two or more being incredibly drawn to each other, or even lead to a rivalry like situation, if the caste standing is unclear.
It wasn’t uncommon for those of higher caste to have multiple partners, akin to a harem in ancient times. Nowadays harems are looked down upon but polycules are accepted.
As kryptonians themselves don’t sweat all that much, scent can be very important to kryptonians. This is also why a kryptonian partner might go a little coocoo from their human partners sweat and musk, as its much more concentrated than the scent you’d find on another kryptonian.
If you’ve read my fics you know I hc kryptonians as more hung than humans and able to produce a large amount of any bodily fluid at this point. This headcanon exists solely for my own pleasure.
Kryptonians can be much older than humans, meaning that they reach sexual maturity at an older age than humans, striking them in about their late 30s, where after they’ll be in their prime to have children until their 80s or 90s. But the first couple of years are the strongest, as they gain influx of pheromones that weren’t there before.
Kryptonians possess organs that you won’t find in a human. Like an organ in their throat and chest that allows them to purr.
Or what I dubbed the “sunspot”. Its an organ placed where youll find the solar plexus on a human. Its an organ that takes in the access radiation from the sun that isn’t used by the body. Normally the sunspot isn’t anything special, but if touched or rubbed by a kryptonians partner, it’s very sensitive as it will leak the radiation within into the kryptonians body. This isn’t dangerous for any non kryptonian. partner, don’t worry.
In ancient time the clothes of Krypton reflected this organ, leaving open holes or wearing open fronted shirts or dresses to expose the organ to as much sunlight as possible. But it became out of fashion later on, as the sun weakened.
Any gender on krypton can become pregnant, but seeing as natural births were so incredibly rare later on, it was pretty much forgotten. Its not that you can just go ahead and get a male kryptonian pregnant though, it would need the kryptonian to be willing and very into the idea of it. Think how some women want to be pregnant so bad they show symptoms. That would be the same for a male kryptonian, who would develop the needed organs for it over a period of months to a year.
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head right now.
