People liking your personal OCs is still such a crazy feeling, I've been doing this for years and ppl asking about them still fills my entire heart with warmth and idk how to handle it
You enjoy this fictional guy I made up for fun?? Whose only content is random artwork or writing made by me and a handful of other artists at most? They have no show/book/game with a large fandom, it's just one person with an art blog?? I love u
anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful
Sometimes you just have one of those moments where the progress we've made as a culture get thrown into stark relief. You look at something and go "Holy shit, that would never have happened when I was a kid."
Today, I had one of those moments when I realized that the teenage boys I'm working with are just. genuinely, openly enthusiastic about going to Build-a-Bear for their outing.
These are sixteen and seventeen year old boys! They just had a whole conversation about what to name their "cute", mostly new squishmallows! They're genuinely excited that they're going to Build-a-Bear this weekend and asking other kids to pick up specific accessories for them!!
Holy shit, that never would've happened when I was 16. None of the boys would have dared to be visibly interested - and neither would most of the girls! There would have been a million gay jokes and "Haha, you're a girl" jokes and "What are you, a baby?" jokes. Teenagers weren't even supposed to care about anything back then!
Less than 15 years later, and I'm watching three 17 year old boys treat all that as not even worthy of comment.
So let's call that a reason for hope. Even when the kids aren't alright, in some ways apparently they are alright. Go Gen Z, honestly. It's so lovely to watch you guys just openly doing and saying stuff that, when I was a teen, would've been a social death sentence.
There’s only like 18 of them, so yknow if you want one get one now—I also have a couple other good omens charms up, and all of them have some novelty aspect!
A month or so ago, I got the coolest care package from @tangentburd T.T ♥♥♥ Thank you so much!! There are lots of awesome merch pieces by them and by other wonderful artists -- I promise I will list y'all ASAP, I'm currently going through the grinder fkljdsfljk but I still wanted to share!!

I'll reblog-update as soon as I try the teas!! This weekend feels like a good tea time :D ♥ Thank you so much again TB (and pardon the mess everyone fdksjfkl I'm a disorderly person ;-;)
So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?
Hey i saw you were supposed to partake in the tf2 shipswag oc tournament. Have you heard anything from the person running the blog? I havent heard anything and last time it was updated at all was in september. Are you still interested in it, and if so, would you ask them when it will happen? I have tried doing so already but i havent gotten any response, but maybe if more people ask them they will give a response? The blog is clearly still active...
Tbf blogging is way easier than stuff like making graphics, posts, promotions, etc for like 200+ ocs, and some people even made custom collab artwork for it that all needs to be collected, formatted, and whatever. I’m guessing they’re busy irl, I’m not going to push them over what’s ultimately a silly event and nobody’s paying them to run it. As someone who does a lot of fan events like zines, trust me when I say that organizing this kind of thing is way more taxing than it seems on the outside. For comparison, I typically run my projects with around one mod for every 10 participants, though the ratio is typically a bit closer to one mod for every 5 participants.
If you (or anyone else) wants to do a similar sort of event on your own, I’m sure no one would fault you as long as you credit where you took inspiration and transform the concept a little to make your own unique idea. Or you (or anyone else) could offer to help out with making graphics or wrangling participants or whatever. The tf2 fandom always enjoys more events, and if anyone wants advice, my dms are open (with the small caveat that I’m out of the country atm so replies will be slow and/or inconsistent).
For those of you not aware Mercury Stardust, Point of Pride, and friends are raising funds for Trans Healthcare.
Unfortunately, some TikTok peeps are being complete transphobic bastards and are reporting the lives and getting the accounts banned. The appeals are being rejected.
This hinders getting the word out on this fundraiser.
Make sure you donate if you can or at least share the link in your circles so people are aware and hopefully the message can reach a wider audience
