• today I existed as a witch wandering the land just beyond the castle walls. The wind blew steadily cold as clouds cluttered the already grey sky. Bare tree branches rustled as the breeze flew by. My day would be well spent as long as my crow familiar, whom I called Sparrow, was by my side. Time marched on as did I through the overgrown fields and abandoned camps. Coming across abandoned camps meant a chance to gain some new belongings. Sadly, only common items were spotted today… rope, cooking pans and pottery vessels. As the evening crept closer I found my way back to Sparrow and I’s home. The old rounded wooden door creaked as I pulled it open and sparrow flew through. Warmth filled the room as I lit the candle collection in the fireplace. All that’s left for me today is magical practices and sweet dreams.

is it normal to live about 2% of your life in reality and the rest in your little mind with your little characters playing out little stories?

It's a rainy day, we're sat at home on the sofa together, a movie playing quietly as we just bask in each others company under a blanket. You're sat between my legs, back against my chest my head resting on your shoulder, a hand resting on your stomach, idly drawing random shapes on your skin as you play with the fingers on my free hand. You're slowly falling asleep in my arms (and avidly denying it despite your drooping eyes) making me smile in both adoration and amusement. I tell you that you can sleep if you want to, that I'll hold you throughout and maybe even join you but you just refuse, claiming you aren't tired once more although you do shuffle around to move to lay atop me, head on my chest (claiming your favourite pillow *hopefully your words not mine*). I just chuckle and move a hand to settle against your back and thread the fingers of my other hand into your hair beginning to scratch your scalp lightly. You move to rest your head up against my neck and it's there that I eventually feel your breathing even out and not even a few minutes later you've fallen asleep atop me. Pressing a kiss to your head i whisper playfully "Not tired my ass" with a smile before closing my own eyes and joining you for a quick nap in our cozy little bubble.

How do you get over someone you haven’t dated?

I’ve found the most productive way to get over someone you’ve never dated is to turn the experience into a self-discovery exercise. Take out a pen and paper or open up a fresh Word document on your computer to journal about the following:

What qualities initially drew you to this person? What about your interactions or observations in their presence made them alluring? 

How do this person’s character, mannerisms, and actions align with the traits you’re looking for in a partner/relationship? Did you uncover new attributes that you never knew you were looking for before when interacting with this person? Write these down and add them to your dating criteria. Refine and elevate your standards. 

Reflect on why you didn’t end up dating – was it a logistical inconvenience, incompatibility in your lifestyle, perspectives, interests, or personalities? Understanding why it didn’t work out can help you better identify your deal breakers and help you mind-map interactions or plan dates/conversation starters in the future. 

Indulge in the fantasy fully in a productive way. Use this practice to satisfy yourself emotionally and enable self-growth from the experience.

I often like to daydream about existing in a world much different from ours. Maybe I live in a old Victorian castle on a hill with my cat companions. I run around the castle grounds as evening falls wearing a rugged yet flowing dress. I’d spend most of my time collecting various flowers, berries and insects to inspect. Other time would be spent adventuring into the woods with the cats, watching them chase after smaller animals and listening to the wind blow. Here i’d be at peace, all of my time would be own and I’d live freely. The crows of birds would sing me to sleep as my head hits the pillow in the early hours of the morning. I’d sleep peacefully as the sun rose knowing I’d awake as it fell to once again to experience the unadulterated joy of freedom and truly existing.

It's so difficult figuring out a whump scenario to daydream about before going to bed.
