Here's what our friends at the Cleveland Museum of Art write about these four 17th-century paintings entitled "Scenes of Witchcraft" by Salvator Rosa:
A huge upturn in interest in witchcraft emerged during the 1500s in Europe, but by the middle of the next century - at least among the cultured elite of Florence - a backlash arose against the many accusations of sorcery. Artists and writers explored the topic more out of curiosity and amusement, chief among them the poet, painter, and satirist Salvator Rosa, who examined witchcraft with gusto in numerous poems and works of art, including these four paintings. They show a range witch types - from the beautiful enchantress to the old crone to the male sorcerer - and represent activities commonly associated with black magic - levitation, love potions, devil worship, the invocation of demons, and transformation.
If you think that's awesome, you should browse the museum's collection in JSTOR—lots of great art from a wide variety of cultures and eras, and it's open and free for everyone to view and download!

Italians are funny because all the ones I've met simultaneously agree that every region is like it's own country and they have nothing in common but they all agree they're Italians and they do have a lot in common. And from my perspective both statements are true.

I do think it's pretty funny that throughout the siracusa event there's like multiple scenes of the characters meeting up at restaurants/over dinner and almost every time the characters just order a pizza. like sure there are a few cases like lappland offering texas a mille-feuille or one of the characters having ordered steak for a party so at the very least we know other food exists but outside of that basically every meal is the good ol pie. it seems like in siracusa the only thing they do when they aren't murdering each other really is just cooka da pizza

What is the true meaning of Elaine?
shining light
The French girl's name Elaine means "sun ray," "shining light," and "bright, and it would be an ideal name to give your little ball of light.
so yes in the bible Elaine´s name means ´´My god has answered me´´ but the true meaning is light. Also in Greek the meaning of Elain is,In Greek Baby Names the meaning of the name Elaine is: Shining light. The bright one. SJM follows greek mythology for her inspiration.
Also ´´My god has answered me´´ does not fit the actual Acotar character Elaine at all but light does. Not to mention feyre said she was always so full of light which connects with ´´The bright one´´
What does Elaine mean in Latin?
Meaning:Torch, shining light, sunlight.
Elaine's name means light. Deal with it.
In russian, italian, spanish, french, greek, english Lucien´s name means Light aswell.
Being a light fits both of them.
NOT TO MENTION THE MEANING OF VANSERRA
so its not as straight forward. Vanserra means ´´Man of the mountains´´ which to me still fits considering Elain is like the woman of the garden yk. and lucien does tons of travelling over the world or smth. Although if you spilt his name into two...
Van means-"cloud" and "gentle."
serra means-GREENHOUSE
Do with that what you will.

Is Gen getting an Italian nationality?
Um... not likely? That's not very common, plus she runs the risk of losing her American citizenship.
If you heard it from someone else, it's probably a false rumor or something that was misinterpreted after hearing how much Gen and Jared like Italy as a country.
Also, there are very specific rules to getting an Italian citizenship for descendants that depend on specific dates of immigration and naturalization.

“The ice-creamers seem to have given the Austrians a bit of a knock though both sides seem to claim about the same number of prisoners and one doesn’t know which side is the bigger liar.” Lieutenant-General William Marshall 28 June 1918.
Early 20th century anti-Italian racism seems so quaint nowadays

Every time I think that it's a pity that I live in Italy and I never write anything set in my country (I love historical fantasy and mainly write that for my fully original works)... Every time I think that and then I try to research something historical/artistical here that's not the two villas in Pompeii, the Coliseum or the Uffizi Gallery, I spend at least one hour cursing like a sailor because everything is done with the apparent purpose of kicking people away and making finding informations difficult, and close everything like this:
