Ok but Jamil as a bird mobian is so smart! I would have never thought of that.

I also like how I unique you made the tweels,even making their hair similar to a real eels' fin along with their face muzzle

(despite how complicated they were at first) i had a lot of fun with jade and floyd!! had to think of ways to give them “hair” cause they dont have fur so i couldn’t finesse my way out of things (even with azul i was able to give him “hair” despite him not being an animal that has fur) they (azul, jade and floyd) were some of the first characters i sketched when i started making the boys sonic characters (started the au in march) ((meaning ive been planning how i was going to draw them since march 😭)) i took more inspiration from how fans make aquatic/marine sonic characters cause i honestly didnt have too many references from actual sonic characters 😵‍💫😵‍💫

bird jamil came to me in a dream 😤 (not really but the only animal that was calling him was bird) ((the way ive been telling people how i decide which animal they are has legitimately just been “i let them tell me what animal they are i look into their aura and say what animal are you and then they do” 💀)) i know snake would have been an obvious choice and i have learned how to draw new things because of this au but i will NOT learn how to draw a snake (I WONT DO IT !!)

Azul Ashengrotto l'Incompétent 🐙

I think calling Azul incompetent is one of his worst fears as he does absolutely EVERYTHING to look competent in front of people. But when you catch him losing control of a situation, he immediately panics and shows his genuine expression (sorry for messing up with you like that Azul).

Anyway I had so much fun drawing his facial expression (this is usually my favorite part to do alongside sketching). There's so much panic in his eyes it was so funny to create 🤭

BONUS: Had another idea of drawing the tweels behind the scenes:

Floyd laughing and Jade observing Azul failing at his duties and not trying to laugh too loud but bro is shaking so haaard he's gonna explode.

While the tweels fufu about Azul, nobody's at the Mostro Lounge taking care of the customers but don't tell Azul.

I can hear the SPLASH sfx as the group enters the Coral Sea! The bubbles look so fun too, definitely reminds me of the bubbles that would show up in The Little Mermaid when the merpeople and sea creatures moved around vigorously. I love how the drawings show us how different the physics are under the water and how the characters move and react differently as a result of that. They're paddling their arms to fight against the water pressure, trying to see how their limbs react to their new aquatic environment. You can tell from their expressions too: they're totally out of their element now.

MERA IVE BEEN HAVING THIS THOUGHT AND I THINK YOURE THE RIGHT PERSON TO SHARE IT WITH BC ITS SO PERFECT FOR THE TWEELS 😭

A long time ago, back when i was a teenager and still a wattpad girly, I read this one really good story called "Family Comes First" about a family of cannibals that lives in the middle of nowhere. They only keep boy children who are born, no daughters. Whenever a boy turns a certain age (I think 21 but I cant really rmbr), the father goes out to the nearest city, interviews girls under the guise of offering them a job, and kidnaps the best one as a birthday gift and bride. The mother-in-law teaches the new girl how to be a good wife (cleaning, cooking that strange meat, etc.), and the husband is otherwise responsible for his wife, to the point of selecting and laying out her clothing every morning. The ultimate honour is to birth a son, and so the husbands are CONSTANTLY trying to get their wives knocked up. I can't help but imagine Jade and Floyd in a story like this, it suits them perfectlyyyyy

In the book, one of the boys ended up catching feelings for brother's wife (the main character) instead of his own, and it causes fights serious drama in the family. This works so well with the recent ideas about Jade stealing Floyd's cute little wifey except it would be even better for them because they're twins and Jade can pull all his nasty tricks 😭 maybe when she finally gets knocked up with a son, they won't know who it belongs to, because he looks just like his daddy, but the potential daddies look the sammmeee OTZ

Oh oh oh and imagine if reader tries to escape and the family decides to let her try. Let her have fun. Hell, they even join in on the fun. She was blindfolded when they brought her and she's never been out of the house before, so she doesn't know her way around the woods, whereas the men in this family have been hunting humans for sport and food in these woods for generations. Now she's lost in the dark forest with daddy leech and the tweels rapidly closing in on her. She's going to be taught a lesson after they drag her home. After all, she lost the game, and losers never get rewards >_<

OHHH!!! Omg that concept is perfect for the tweels!!!! And they would absolutely draw out the chase in the forest just to scare you even more. Maybe then, after spending an entire day and night being hunted like a wild animal, you'll learn your home is with them. There's no point in running from your family, after all.

Hehe running from the three of them and you injure yourself, so now you're even more panicked because what if they can smell the cut on your leg? What if they can hear your pained grunts as you drag yourself along, limping through the forest? >_< omg and it doesn't matter who finds you; it's going to be frightening either way. Floyd who drags you out of your hiding place by the ankles, or Jade who stands over you as he patiently waits for you to take notice of him. Or Papa Leech wrapping you up in big, strong, scarred arms to carry you back to the house. Maybe you're kicking and screaming all the way, and it's useless to struggle because there's no one else out here for stretches. Just you and your family, who care so very much for you. You should be grateful! Mr. Leech's sons fight over you to be named your husband. Aren't you lucky to have the two of them? Most of all, aren't you lucky you're alive and not on their murderous menu?

AAAAAA and Papa Leech picks your clothes for you going forwards! They were far too patient and lenient with you before, far too forgiving. Now you're living under a new schedule, a fresh set of rules. Your clothes are selected for you, and your meals are prepared in advance (gone are the days in which you were given choices; each meal is healthy and has properties meant to boost your fertility). When you aren't learning to be the perfect housewife, you're getting bent over every possible surface and bred by the twins. Or if the twins can't behave, then maybe Papa Leech ought to knock you up instead........... thinking thoughts.

In conclusion, the entire family is crazy and you're stuck with them forever. orz

Azul had been fascinated by the idea of soulmates as a young mer

it was something that gave him hope, that despite all the other mean mers who would make fun of him, there was someone out there who would understand him and love him

and so he kept drawing on his arm, doodles of shells and other fish that caught his eye

but there wasn't any response.

maybe his doodles were too ugly and his soulmate didn't like them?

and so he learned to draw better, drawing again and again, hoping he would get a response

but still not a single mark would appear on him

it had been a tough blow to him, but he eventually accepted that he didn't have a soulmate

if he was going to be alone for all his life, then he had to take care of himself (because nobody would)

he became super greedy and selfish, always prioritising himself and his materialistic needs

although he also had a friendship with the tweels, he really only befriended them because they could help him out (but he did get attached to them over time)

and so, he opened the mostro lounge and became the sly businessman that we all know

on the first day of his second year, as he was going over documents after closing the lounge, he felt a slight tingle in his hand

Azul's eyebrow rose in response to an unexpected sensation. A peculiar warmth, like a gentle caress, emanated from the back of his gloved hand. Intrigued, he swiftly removed his gloves, revealing smooth, pale skin. A gasp of astonishment escaped his lips as his eyes fell upon a minuscule masterpiece, a tiny, adorable octopus delicately inked in pen.

"Is this...real?" Azul murmured, his voice tinged with disbelief. A surge of hope surged through his entire being, dispelling the weight that had burdened him for far too long.

With a trembling hand, he grasped his own pen and cautiously began to sketch his own octopus upon his wrist, with one tentacle reaching out, holding hands with your octopus.

And he can't stop he smile that graces his lips when a little heart appears between the two octopi.

What a hectic day it had been! For a magicless student to arrive in NRC and for him to finally connect with his soulmate!

Oh. Azul had to speak to said magicless student as soon as possible.

when the two of you start being a couple, Azul does everything and anything for you

when you're in exams and your nervously doodling sea creatures, he'll draw some flowers nearby to help calm you down

no he doesn't help you cheat by writing you the answers, he's already given you the perfect study materials, you shoud put in some effort too

he gets jealous if you draw other sea creatures too much though, especially moray eels

he lets you work at the lounge with a very high pay, making sure you're not working too hard, and always offers to tutor you if you're struggling

his soulmate had to go to a different world just to find him, you'll be sure he helps to settle in and hopefully never leave again

Insert clingy octopus wrapping his tentacles all around you because he can't bare to let you go

when you have dates and appointments, he'll help remind you by writing on his arm

this man has waited for you his entire life, he's ready to lay the world down at your feet if you ask him to

I’ve noticed whenever people write the tweels mistaking yawns as a show of interest, they never write how the tweels would react to someone who covers up their mouth when yawning. Do you think they’d just brush it off as a normal yawn if the mouth is obscured? Or do you think maybe the tweels would think that person is trying to be coy?

Not asking this as a request, just as a silly question.

Heck yawns can be noisy, so would they take that as trying to draw attention to one’s mouth? Do moray eels make sounds? I’m under the impression that most aquatic life doesn’t, but I don’t really know and I think learning is fun if you happen to know and are willing to share.

honestly,,,, i'm sure they know what yawning is, so if a random person yawned at them they wouldn't care. i think its if they have an interest in the person themselves that they'd start thinking about whether or not it meant something.

so when their precious little shrimpy yawns in front of them but covers it, they'd probably think they're shy. i think it would be something like looking away from them when you're embarrassed. you're displaying a sign of interest but you're covering it, and oh if they don't get a kick out of that.

since they're underwater and opening their mouths is how they breathe, morays don't "yawn" loudly. however, if you yawn super loud, i'd bet they would take that as a hey, pay attention to me!

they're both total assholes though and would tease the hell out of you for covering your yawns or yawning loudly. ESPECIALLY if you did both. like, you wanted our attention shrimpy, why are you hiding from us, huh?
