#ironman in a donut
Note
You know i read about this fanfic, Genius in which BnHA x reader (who is female ironman, female version Tony Stark) as she spit facts towards Bakugo's behaviour, all he could bark was how she is a Quirkless runt who knows how to built shct and later in a chapter (chapter 12 serotonin killers), Bakugo who always yapping like a dog insults a heavily traumatized Y/n (her caretaker died on overusing their Quirk to protect her) infront of everyone while everyone horrified on Bakugo's words on how she is just nothing but a Quirkless runt and useless without her suit and tell her that she doesn't have what it takes to be a hero. Excuse me? What kind of goals you considered heroic? Being a number 1 hero with a mid tier quirk of yours? Landmine is a better Quirk, lol. She applied to hero course so she could turn society a better place with geniune heroes while you, you want to crush others to assert your dominance and while he finishes that statement he fcking laughs, despite the fact that she is young and achieve a greater achievement better than her classmates and contributed to society and the fact she was born poor and doesn't have any Quirk to help her, just using her intelligence to carry in life to succesful to contrast to Bakugo who was born with everything and didn't have to work shct and acting like a little spoiled brat he is when a little bit of compliment was thrown into somebody else's way, he throws a fcking tantrum, Y/n have every right to act proud and cocky (and a little bit of narcissist) because she work hard on that suit with little to no money and who wouldn't be proud at your own creation? What kind of skill or achievements he should be proud of? His Quirk? There's nothing special about that, in the end of the day it's just a tool, to get what he wants and without his Quirk? He's also nothing and also useless.
When i read the comments there, someone commented that they are grateful that Shigaraki turned him into a donut.
Sorry for dumping a Bakugo slander in here, reading that chapter makes my blood boil.
All of this. Katsuki motives suck. He doesn’t deserve to be a hero. He’s a brat who wants to be a hero for his own purposes and that’s to have the legal right to bear people up so he could usurp All Might’s throne. MHA overrates his quirk too. It’s a mid-tier quirk at best that gets hard countered and/or outright dwarfed by so many quirks (harden, steel, half hot half cold, barrier, hellfire, dupli-arms, Dark Shadow, copy, rewind, Overhaul, OFA, AFO, wings, lizard tail splitter, new world order, creation, and earphone jack are just some of the quirks that are either way more useful, powerful, or hard counter explosion).

24 for Kara and Lena
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them? For Legend of Korra: Avatar Korra = Kara Asami Sato = Lena Luthor Marvel: Captain Marvel = Kara Maria Rambeau (or her daughter) = Lena One could argue that Lena fits Ironman, but Lena isn't a narcissist. I never thought of Lena when I saw Ironman on screen (I mostly thought of how I wished he'd go off screen as I didn't like him). If anything, Lena would be similar to Ironheart (who first appears in Wakanda Forever). One could also argue that Captain America fits Kara. In fact, it might fit her better due to how he was removed from his time period so it makes him feel a bit like an alien in the present day. Babylon 5: Susan Ivanova has Lena Luthor vibes. Talia Winters could fit Kara, though she lacks Kara's silliness. Warning/Spoiler for Babylon 5: due to the actress for Talia leaving at the end of season 2, they sort of did her character dirty. And thus Susan does not get to be with the one she loves. :'( I don't have a lot of fandoms to be honest. I read more than I watch things. Book series:
Tamora Pierce's Emelan Series. Tris feels like Lena Luthor, while Daja feels like Kara. Lord of the Rings: Frodo feels more like Lena, while Samwise Gamgee would fit Kara. But it's only when I have the mad thought of doing a LotR AU that I have this thought. The book Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki -- Lena definitely fits Shizuki Satomi, the violin teacher. Kara is Lan Tran, the alien in charge of the donut stand. It's just perfectly them. (If you haven't read this book, I HIGHLY recommend. It's so wonderfully gay, weird, and utterly beautiful. Heavens is the prose beautiful. *sighs dramatically*)
If I go too much further down the book series hole, I'll end up with a way too long post, so I'm stopping here. LOL

World of reels typical stan film bros,i would not trust this. I'm little afraid for spiderman 4. Really it's a chance that film will get new director. Another thing is story,I want street level story, but I'm hearing marvel wants more connected story with mcu. I hate it, marvel in deep shit rn and they just want use spiderman too at least somehow make it relevant, they may fuck up spiderman character too. I hope Tom have some power this time and very protective to spiderman character.
I'm not really afraid for SM4. Idk why people automatically assume that them possibly (note: POSSIBLY) having a new director for SM4 is automatically going to equal = FAIL?
Some new director could possibly bring a different feel/vibe to the films that are for the better! It could enhance the franchise actually! 😃
I think the problem with your Spiderman/MCU argument is that after the cliffhanger in NWH, how can you possibly write a "street level" Spiderman story w/out somehow involving the MCU, since Dr. Strange and his "maneuver" was the reason why nobody remembers Peter in the first place?? 🥴
Or, maybe that's a good thing? Maybe they can just start over new?? But then, will Peter himself remember? It seems he did when he went to go visit MJ at the donut/coffee shop at the end.
So, idk girl..... I would LOVE a stand-alone Spider-Man movie WITHOUT the tie to the MCU, but I'm just not seeing how they can do it at this point. They've basically backed themselves into a corner.
All I want is to just have a Spidey movie where the focus is on PETER (not any MCU "surprise guests"😒🙄), where there is GOOD character development for all of the characters, where the love story feels REAL and genuine and not rushed like in FFH, and where we can get some deeper storylines and not as much magic/robotics/IronMan help, etc.

A Tower of birds
(An Irondad/Batfam crossposting)
Chapter 2
Looking back Tony couldn't help but laugh at the Irony. It was supposed to be a simple little show. A small benefit for an adoption foundation. Little did he know it would lead to the start of his own family...
No matter how hard he tried Tony couldn't tear his eyes from the horrific scene. All he could do was watch as two bodies came crashing down against the ground. The cries of a small child were drowned out by the screaming as terrified bystanders flew for the exit.
Timeskip
"Mr. Stark we need you to come with us" one of the officers nudged him towards the police cars.
"I already gave my statement" He protested crossing his arms.
"I'm afraid this is about something else," the officer said leading him towards the car at the end. Inside was a small child with dark hair.
"Is that..." Tony took a deep breath looking back towards the officer "The fly Graysons, that's their kid isn't it"
"Yes, I'm Afraid so" he nodded "The kids got a bounty on his head, and seeing as you are Ironman we thought it would be safer if he stayed with you"
"Whoa whoa whoa" Tony put his hands up "First of all people are always trying to kill me, second I'm not the dad type"
"We could put him in foster care but I'm afraid that's all we could do" he frowned "This is New York there's so much crime we stay busy and kids like him offend fall through the crakes"
"Fine, I'll take the kid" Tony grumbled.
Timeskip
Tony stared at the kid sitting across the table. This was a terrible idea, he was the last person that needed a kid. Admittedly the thought of being a father had crossed his mind a few times. He always imagined a baby left at his doorstep, the result of a one-night stand. He never thought of taking in a terrified ten-year-old that just watched his parents die.
"Are you hungry kid?" He nodded "What do you want to eat?" The kid just gave a small shrug 'Great' Tony sighed going into the kitchen. He opened the almost empty fridge.
Flashback
"Why do you not have eggs or milk I can't even find a can of soup" Pepper called as she searched through the kitchen.
"What's the point of cooking when I can get take-out" Tony answered curled up on the couch.
"No, you're sick which means you need a home-cooked meal" Pepper walked into the living room crossing her arms "Besides what are you going to do when you have kids"
"Yeah I don't think s-Achoo" Tony sneezed "ruins the whole playboy image"
End of Flashback
'This does not count' Tony scuffed closing the fridge "Okay we're going out for pi-" Tony froze in his tracks as he looked around the now empty room "Kid?"
"Up here" Tony looked up to see the kid sitting on top of a tall shelf "How?"
A week later
"Mr.Stark could you please tell us about your son," A reporter asked pushing towards the front of the crowd.
"For the last time, he's not my kid!" Tony yelled pushing his way to the car. As soon as he pulled out of the parking lot his phone started ringing "Seriously" he groaned "Answer call"
"Hey Tony" Pepper answered "So your kid's swinging on the chandelier"
"He's not my K-Wait, What?" His eyes widened in shock "I have a chandelier?"
Three weeks later
"I'm just watching him!" Tony yelled slamming the door shut behind him. He walked into the kitchen carrying two bags from the new doughnut shop.
"Do you want one?" He asked Dick who was sitting at the table watching him.
"Doughnuts for breakfast?" The kid asked tilting his head.
"There is a new doughnut shop down the street so I'm doing research" he replied pulling out three boxes of doughnuts "Want one?"
"Yes sir" Dick nodded. Tony smiled pushing a box towards him.
"Tell you what" Tony smiled "You stop swinging on the chandelier and I'll buy you so many Donuts you'll ooze jelly" A few seconds later Pepper walked into the room carrying some papers.
"Hey I got those-" Pepper's eyes landed on the box of Doughnuts "You have got to be kidding me"
"It was the Kid's idea" Tony joked pointing to Dick who just giggled happily eating his jelly doughnut.
One Month later
"Tony you can't take a kid out partying"
"Of course, I can," Tony said fixing the kid's tie "he's my little wingman"
"He's ten Tony" Pepper rolled her eyes.
"I know this is a gala, not a real party" Tony responded "Besides, a lot of people bring children"
"Yes their own" Pepper pointed out crossing her arms "Besides he's just going to be bored to death why would you want to take him"
"He's the perfect woman magnet" Tony smiled as Dick ran to get his bag "They can't resist that cute little face"
"This is wrong on so many levels," she said before walking out of the room. That wasn't the real reason and Tony knew it. He didn't want to leave Dick with a babysitter like his parents so often did. Kids shouldn't see more of a stranger than they do of their own parents.
Two Months later
'No it can't be' Tony's eyes darted around the dark room 'I can't be back here'
"Looking for something?" Tony quickly spun around to see the last person he wanted to, Obadiah. His hands clenched around the person Tony had come to love the most.
"Look whatever this is, it's between you and me so let the Kid go" he glared at the madman.
"Oh I'm afraid I can't" Obadiah grinned "You took away what was most precious to me, so I'm returning the favor" his grip tightened around the kid's neck until there was a loud snap. Dick's lifeless body fell down in front of Tony.
"No!" Tony screamed as his body jerked forward waking him up. His eyes darted around the room as his breath slowed into its regular rhythm. Finally, he let out a sigh rubbing the sweat off his forehead.
"Just a nightmare" he reassured himself. Before he could lay back down a scream came from down the hallway. Tony ran to Dick's room as fast as his legs would carry him.
"No!" The kid thrashed around sobbing in his sleep.
"Kid" Tony gently shook him "Kid wake up" Dick's eyes snapped open.
"Dad?" He looked up at Tony. His big blue eyes shining with tears.
"I'm here" Tony reassured softly, pulling him into a hug "I'm here"
Dick was his first child. The one who taught him how to love. Dick was Tony's heart.

What do you think of how Vision's relationships where portrayed on the MCU?
I hated it, because they only focused on Wanda, who literally assaulted him on Civil War only for them to be a couple on the next movie, like WTF. It wasn't even an interesting ship, less than 5 minutes of Doctor Strange and Ironman arguing what to do with Thanos' donut spaceship had more chemistry than them.
I HATED what they did with Vision I hope that now that white Vision is around we get to see him grow and make new relationships

IM Tulsa 2022 Race Report
Preface
Better late than never. Post IM I checked out and shifted gears to summer fun with the kids. Kept running streak going until day 288 on July 4th. From fitness pov I've been slacking off over the summer but plan to get back into it more socially with school back in session and fall around the corner.
Venue
Honestly I picked this race for the time of year over the location, but Tulsa ended up being pretty cool. It was a bit of a hike from the east coast but doable. TUL airport very convenient to town, although it required a connection from NJ. Lots of good restaurants, bars, arts, and entertainment options. A great bike shop. Lots of coffee shops. Too many pot dispensaries. And a diverse mix of old run down sections, newly developed ones, and beautiful historic buildings from the early 1900's.
Stayed: Hotel Indigo Downtown. Pricey for Ironman/PGA weekend but convenient to everything.
Ate & Drank: - Lo Wood: Higher end meal our first night. Excellent. - Jinya: Good Ramen noodle bar. - Vampire: Sandwiches. - Dilly's Diner: Amazing breakfast options. So good we went back again. - Cherry St Kitchen: Ok breakfast. - McNellie's Pub: Good bar food and vast beer list. - Arthur G's BBQ: When in Rome. - Sweets: HURT Donuts, Rose Rock Microcreamery - Coffee: Black Wall Street, Soda, Gypsey
Bike Shop: Phat Tire. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Got me tuned up lickety split, and repacked the bike for return so we had more time to enjoy Tulsa.
Lead Up
We left at stupid o'clock Thursday morning from EWR but everything went smoothly and arrived on time around noon in Tulsa. Despite a brief scare where my bike ended up not loading on our EWR->ORD connecting flight, somehow AA got it to us via DFW just 15' after we landed in TUL. Pro tip, throw an AirTag in your case so you can see where your bike is in near real time.
There was a lot to do those first 48 hours. Thur: Reassembled bike, dropped at shop for tune up, athlete check in, last taper run. Nice meal out at Lo Wood. Fri: Recon swim at Keystone lake (out of town), drove complete bike course. Short bike on run course. Organized race day bags. Raman at Jinya. Sat: Big breakfast at Dilly's Diner. Checked in bike and bags. Watched Bond. Early to bed (~8pm).
Goals
I started training for this from pov of "What would it take to KQ?" and working backwords from my prior PR of 11:38 at IMWI in 2015. Idea was to systematically reverse engineer the fitness and know how to KQ, or at least to get close and then build on that down the road.
After some soul searching and lots of EN Team feedback, I shifted my mindset for race day from specific output based time/place goals to one of inputs and process. In other words, don't chase a time. Inputs >> Outputs. Prioritize process throughout the day and results will follow.
All that said, I definitely wanted to improve time and execution vs. my prior 11:38.
Race Day
Morning
Followed my plan. 1st breakfast around 2am, then back up at 4am, walked up to shuttle. Jen and I both managed to squeeze on and ride together which was nice. Got to T1 around 5:30am. Tires, fluids, Garmin & batteries on, bike check, etc.
A storm had rolled through the day before so it ended up thankfully being much colder than expected (low 50's). I debated the day before on what to wear and ultimately stuck with EN Tri top + arm warmers and gloves which proved very helpful!
Swim
Went ok but plenty of room for improvement. This is by far my weakest discipline and I still haven't unlocked some fundamental form issues. Liked the format change to rolling start and last minute decision to modify from 1 to 2 laps as water was very choppy further out. Somehow this increased the total distance to ~4750yds (+500yds) and caused extra confusion when they moved the T3 buoy between lap 1 and 2! I didn't wear a watch but check out these other tracks.
For future - think I really need to dedicate a season to swim form including a week+ camp w/ coaching to fix some fundamental issues.
Actual time 1:31 ~= 1:55/100yd on the longer course, and almost identical pace to IMWI although AG 29th of 88 starters was a definite improvement.
T1
4:27 w/ minimal fooling. Passed 55 men in T1, 6 in AG. Wetsuit stripper was fab -- snap and right off. Grabbed bag. Helmet and shoes on. Arm warmers and gloves on at the bike added the most time but helped keep me warm enough on the ride.
Cumulative AG: 23rd (up 6)
For future - only way I see to improve this is to have shoes on bike and do a rolling start. And ditch gloves and arm warmers if temps permit.
Bike
Plan called for 2 GE bottles/hr until peed twice, then 1.5 bottles/hr thereafter. Priority on hydration vs. solid calories. Intensity as 130-135bpm and 215-220w NP (314w ftp). Steady, do no harm, setup the run, "Wait for it".
Right off the bat I was feeling very full and stomach grumbly. Think my Saturday breakfast/dinner + Sun morning breakfast was a bit too much. Took some time to settle in sipping fluids, probably not getting down quite as much as I had planned, but fortunately with the cooler temps it wasn't an issue. Now some months later I don't remember exact consumption but it would have been a couple bottles short of plan (~8 vs 10), finishing with H2O + salt instead of GE to help clear stomach before run.
After the first 20 miles or so I was surprised to be regularly passing super fit guys on super fancy bikes and found myself triple checking RPE, HR, and NP to ensure I wasn't overcooking anything. All checked out.
Effort per hour splits: HR (Plan 130-135bpm): 138, 133, 134, 133, 135, 138 NP (Plan 215-220w): 214, 221, 215, 210, 211, 218
Stayed safe, aero (it was fairly windy), draft legal, careful on some of the rougher roads and descents. Wait for it.
Biggest challenge was the GI and then, once again, peeing like a champ, probably 5-6x which cost me a few minutes. Some room for optimizing here, especially on cooler days.
Overall ride: 5:38 (8th in AG), 215w NP, 265TSS Cumulative AG: 14th (up 9)
For future - mostly refining the nutrition/hydration plan. Few extra watts and more flexible/aero position wouldn't hurt.
T2
2:46 again no fooling. Right in. Helmet off. Socks and shoes on. Ziplock go bag w/ watch, number, hat, and race saver bag. And on the road! Saw Jen coming out of T2 which was a nice mental boost! Total T1+T2 time 7:14 was 3rd in AG!
Cumulative AG: 12th (up 2)
Great EN highlight here @ 6:30 mark.
For future - Do it again! Possibly leave shoes on bike.
Run
Always great to come off the bike unscathed! Run plan was to 1) settle HR early on, 2) confirm hydration status and no GI issues, 3) remain disciplined and gradually ramp RPE/HR across the course.
Loosely planned effort by HR as: ~135bpm first 6 miles, then drifting up to mid 140's ~halfway, then capping at 150bpm until final 5km. Planned to sip a GE bottle from T2 1st 6 miles, then start augmenting w/ Bloks every 2.5-3mi and fluids from the course.
As with the bike, actual consumption is a little fuzzy. In my T2 haste I forgot the go bottle. Started sipping GE/H20 at each aid station with just a few steps walking to get it down.
HR out of the gate was a bit high (low 140's). Tried to bring it down but after a few miles just accepted that it wasn't rising and would cap it in low 140's until about 1/2 way.
Kept cadence up. Smooth. Not chasing. Settled in. Stayed in my box. Thanked the volunteers and smiled a lot.
Somewhere along the 1st lap out started overhearing people chatting about the swim course being all messed up and longer than expected. It seemed to be extra baggage they were carrying throughout the day and glad I hadn't even registered it at the time.
Had hoped to start passing more people in the 2nd lap but with the rolling start and no AG marks it was really difficult to tell who was who and overall standings. Perhaps for the best as I just ran my race and tried to maintain a pace which definitely got harder towards the end.
Didn't really stick to a specific nutrition plan in back half. Just made sure to drink something at each aid station. Alternating between cola and ice water in the back half. Took an advil somewhere in there and just kept trucking.
Key metrics (Mile 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-23, Final 5km) Pace: 7:45/mi, 8:10, 8:13, 8:29, 8:51 (uphill back to town) AvgHR: 143bpm, 144, 146, 145, 144
Overall run: 3:36 (10th in AG) Cumulative AG: 12th (no change)
For future - I think the durability plan and run streak really helped here. Ideally would steal another 5' or so through faster TRP and perhaps some mental toughness to push RPE up when it gets tough.
Finish
Total time: 10:52 (PB by 46 minutes) 12th AG, 39th Male, 44th Overall
Always amazing to come across the finish and especially after a steady well executed day. Didn't realize it would be Mike's last year so that's a cool bonus. The Mrs was right there at the finish and we got a great hug and photo right in the chute. The volunteers helped me get situated, stood to block the sun while I collected myself, and were just generally great. Thought I was ready for some real food. Tried a burger. NOPE. Tried a hot dog. NOPE. Eventually nibbled on some chips or something and caught my breath.
One of my unofficial goals was to have a cocktail on the rooftop bar of our hotel, with the Mrs, before sunset after the race. We got up there in plenty of time but were told the bar had closed early on a slow Sunday night! After a brief standoff with the bartender and explaining what I'd just done, he ended up letting us in, and I got that cocktail!
KQ
I'll admit after seeing some crazy roll down action earlier in the year I started to get my hopes up and went to the awards ceremony the next morning. I had never gone before and it was pretty cool to see the level of fitness, excitement, and commitment within that group. Unfortunately the 4 spots got scooped up by first 4 places, with the 4th place time 30' faster than me. Can I find another 30' in there somewhere? I think so! 15' in the swim alone! If and when I go for it again remains to be seen.
Shout Outs
Of course all this would not have been possible without a lot of support along the way.
Thanks to my Mrs and IronMate for always encouraging me to keep going, enabling longer ride days, getting the kids, and often having Italian subs ready when I got home. Also for joining me on our Tulsa "vacation" which included a lot of running around here and there and a 60 mile scenic drive of rural Tulsa. Spectating is just as tough a sport I'm convinced!
Thanks to my folks for coming out and watching the kids while we were gone. And to the kids for also putting up with me coming and going and often sweaty at school pickup after a ride or run.
Thanks to everyone that commented on the socials during the race. It's always motivating to know people are watching and fun to relive the day.
Lastly, to the EN Team and Coaches for lots of good advice and support over the last 9 months. This is not something I do regularly so borrowing with pride and standing on the shoulders of giants has been a big help to make the most use of my time and to stay foucsed on the the areas that matter.
