peter, nauseous as fuck but refuses to admit that he feels ill:

rhodey who attended college with tony and knows the exact face he makes when he over does it, glances at peter (who is literally like a carbon copy of tony) and asks on instinct: what did you take?

peter, forcing his stomach to not spew everywhere, trying and failing to act casual: what? nothing. i didn't take anything.

rhodey activating his mom voice colonel voice: peter.

peter: i did what i had to. (reaches into his pocket and pulls out $40) and i won the bet.

It's such a shame that the colour scheme is so ugly but MK 42 really is one of the best Iron Man armours. In-universe, it's a reasonable step forward from suitcase and weird-flying-pod-wrist-detecting-thing armours and it's also a really elegant way of doing CGI while keeping the realistic look.

The one downside of the CGI point is that all previous armours got sort of retconned to fit MK 42's design philosophy for the big fight scene at the end of Iron Man 3, which kind of defeats the purpose of the first suit-up scene, which implies MK 42 is the first of its kind.

But aside from that, it's easily a top 3 Iron Man armours if you ask me, along with MK 46 and MK 3. Nothing tops MK 3. I will die on this hill.

Also I'm gonna get crucified for this but Iron Patriot fucks. Way harder than the later War Machine designs (the first one is still the best one)

Anyway can you tell I rewatched the Iron Man trilogy? Cause I did.

Talk it Out (Steve Rogers x Gender Neutral Reader)

This is inspired by the Tony vs. Steve debates arising when Civil War premiered. I believe both were at fault—but what if there was a voice of reason who diffused the situation?

Summary: Being related to the genius Tony Stark had many benefits, but being stuck in an argument between him and your fiance, Steve Rogers, was never anticipated.

Being a Stark had its fair share of perks: a hefty bank account, influential power, looks that turn heads. But what the public was unaware of was the messy family drama, courtesy of Howard Stark. Despite the world applauding him as a genius inventor, at home, he was anything but wonderful. Work seemed to be his one true love, leaving little room for the whole parenting gig. Affection and care for his kids, especially name, were as rare as a unicorn. And when the Stark siblings were paid attention, it was mostly due to the public image Howard wanted to construct as a loving father.

So, when Tony decided to start flying around New York as Iron Man, name wanted nothing to do with it. Don't get them wrong, they loved their brother, but staying out of the limelight gave name the peace they longed for since childhood. No image they had to uphold nor expectations they needed to live up to, name was content spending their remaining days working on the numerous charities and foundations Stark Industries supported. Name wasn't interested in the media at all, but they guessed being related to Tony Stark and dating fellow Avenger, Captain America aka Steve Rogers would throw that plan out the window.

Their relationship with the Captain had been a surprise to all; meant to be kept a secret from the public, with only the Avengers and Tony (obviously) knowing. However, when a picture leaked of them holding hands, the world went crazy. With everyone, even news channels, speculating the nature of their relationship, it was name who ultimately decided to clear up rumors. Yes, they were dating Captain America, and what about it? The world had bigger problems than worrying about stranger's love affairs. So, even if the public knew about their romance, name withheld that they were also engaged.

But as name said, the world had bigger problems. And indeed they had. After a failed attempt by Loki to take over the world, alongside Ultron's failed destruction of said world, their plate was full. It didn't need unnecessary drama thrown into it: like Steve and Tony bickering due to the recently written Sokovia Accords.

"You're being irrational!"

"Sue me Rogers for wanting to protect the world."

Rolling their eyes, name didn't understand how a friendship like Steve and Tony's was being destroyed over something as stupid as the Accords. If they were being honest, both men were acting like children.

"Can't you guys just talk it out?" Name spoke, sitting up from their seat to glare at their brother and fiance. "I know Tony's a drama queen—"

"Hey!"

"But I expect better from you, Steve. Now, I'm going out with Pepper for lunch. When I return, you better have resolved this or else." Kissing both men's cheeks, name left the room. Looking at each other, Tony and Steve thought the same thing.

'Name is scary when they want to be.'

What If…The Iron Overtook The Man?

Here’s another horror-centric idea for a What If scenario before the end of the year, based on the recent Darkhold Saga from 2021.

{In this alternate timeline, when Aldritch Killian and Maya Hansen kidnapped Tony Stark, instead of just merely torturing Tony with footage of Pepper being given the Extremis Serum, Killian decides to go a step further and inject Stark with the serum as well.

Moments after injection, when Tony desperately tries to call the Mark 42 suit back to help him, the fusion of the suit’s technology and Tony’s Extremis-fueled blood caused a horrific side effect, merging the man and his mind into the suit.

After the newly created Iron Maniac brutally kills Killian, Hansen escapes and frees Rhodey, escaping with Trevor Slattery before Tony can hurt them.

As the heroes attempt to handle the horrific situation and rescue Pepper, Tony’s mind begins to descend into madness as he binds up Killian’s men and starts bonding them to his now-Extremis-laced armors, dissolving them completely into the suits.

He soon learns from them the whereabouts of Pepper and decides to spread this newfound “gift” to her and all of the his friends.

As Rhodey, Maya, and Trevor attempt to free Pepper from the Roxxon Shipyard, Tony shows up with an Extremis-Empowered Iron Legion, including the now-armored remains of Happy Hogan.

The group then battles both Legionaries and A.I.M. Troops alike in a bid to escape, with Trevor getting turned and absorbed in the process.

As the group gets close to escape, Stark corners them, cutting off their exit. Rhodey and Pepper engage with him in battle to allow Maya to repair their escape boat; as they fight Tony’s deep paranoia and emotions then begin to surface, making him more dangerous and erratic.

After Tony injures and knocks out Rhodey, he then gestures Pepper to a suit of her own, claiming that it will “cure” her as well. While Pepper seemingly agrees with him for the moment, she then uses this distraction to kick him back and rip into the suit’s weapons arsenal, ripping out a missile from it.

As Rhodey regains consciousness, she then heats up the missile with her powers and throws it at the Iron Maniac, which Rhodey follows up with a repulsor blast, knocking everyone back.

Pepper, Rhodey, and Maya manage to escape the horror scene, but unfortunately, so does a now-damaged Tony. Then on Christmas Day, as the trio assembles with the other remaining Avengers to deal with this rising threat, the Iron Maniac publicly announces his ultimate gift: a suit of armor around the world, one for every person in it.}

I know this one is probably dark in a lot of places, and that many would understandably prefer an Iron Man vs. Wenwu episode, but I thought it would be another possibility to remix for Season 3 or possibly beyond.
