The Batkids: *all sitting on the floor huddled around a phone*
Bruce, walking up: What are you guys doing?
Tim: We're playing a new game. Its like truth or dare, except it is only dare, and all the dares are decided by a random word generator set for verbs, if we need more context we can randomly generate a noun too. Here, Steph is next, watch.
Steph: *clicks the generate a word button* 'appreciate'? *Clicks for a noun* 'Scene'? Am I supposed to go to a play? Look at the top of a mountain?
Damian: you have to get to the top of the hill, adequately appreciate the scene, and get back before your next turn, otherwise you are out
Steph: *gets up and runs out of the house*
Jason: My turn *presses the randomly generate a word button* Request *presses to randomly select a noun* cookies. Fuck yes! Alfred!
Cass, soaking wet, signing: not fair
Bruce: hey, I saw Dick's car out front, where is he?
Duke: he got 'vanish'
Tim: Still better than that time Jason got 'die'
Damian: me next, 'read'
Jason, walking in with a plate full of cookies: you gotta read and finish Pride and Prejudice before your next turn.
Damian: That's impossible! Without Dick that is only 5 people before me.
Tim: Impossible if you sit here complaining. Better hop to it.
Damian: *running to the library*
Duke, stealing a cookie: you wanna try, Bruce?
Bruce: maybe just once *clicks the button* 'grin'
Tim: Batman has to smile for an entire day fighting bad guys and dealing with the Justice League
Bruce: I don't like this game

Okay, but the bathroom trap from Alison Gordon's perspective is insane. Imagine you and your daughter are being held at gunpoint by a kidnapper. Your husband can save you-- his wife and mother of his child-- himself, and his own daughter by giving a quick and painless death to a complete stranger. Instead he spends several hours playing twenty questions with some random twink while you desperately fight your way out of an unwinnable situation by the power of pure rage. This is why she fucking left you, Larry.

Writing prompt: Danny failed science and Temperature affects the weather!!!
So when a cold front meets a warm front is can cause a storm, sometimes they can become extremely dangerous….
Danny has been really stressed lately with college applications and exams, plus the fact that his powers have been getting stronger lately. So one day he flys out to the middle of nowhere and lets off some steam in the form of letting his ice core go a little crazy. He does this every now and then to help him destress, today he used a little more power than usual but no big deal right?
Wrong. One week later the justice league is at his door and confronting him about a series of severe storms that have been created that they managed to track the energy source back to him.
Now they are trying to confront him about being a weather powered meta.
To be fair he was fighting the box ghost when they were learning about hot and cold fronts, how was he supposed to know they could form tornados?

this is somewhat of a vent post & something i said i would not do again but has been plaguing me enough that i think getting it out might feel better. so. has anydoggy else been. Baffled and upset by nora sakavic’s refusal to speak on how terribly aftg has treated its characters of color? with the author of the series coming back with a new book and starting up on her online activity again, and questions of what she’d change about aftg bubbling up, it’s particularly glaring to me that we are all playing this very long game of pretend where we ignore how badly the non-white cast has been treated & her lack of thoughts on it
and i understand not wanting to bring up nicky and thea because people pick on her for it. i’m not trying to discredit nora sakavic’s terrible history of getting harrassed online by aftg fans. but i think it is very cynical, and it is very juvenile, and most of all very cruel, that she gets to ignore the very real ways the books have set up these characters to be hated. i think it’s obvious why the characters who get the most hate are the only canonical characters of color, and i think we do not get to treat this like a deliberate decision on the fandom’s part when the books have put these same characters in degrading and embarrassing and terrible positions in the first place. aftg is not a story about nice characters with clean pasts, but there is a very specific nastiness to the only characters of color being a brown man who sexually harasses and later assaults the main character, a black woman whose only scene is her lashing out at her love interest after being ignored for the first two books, and the japanese villain who gets maybe two lines of complexity before he goes back to being a terrible person. the white cast, in comparison, while not at all free from flaws, are never shown to commit mindless evil; all of their actions are ultimately justified. the book goes out of its way to give them concession after concession. we know exactly who to side with, because aftg tells us who these people are. does nicky’s assault ever get addressed in the books? does riko’s reasoning to be the way that he is ever gets more than briefly aluded to? is thea reserved even a shred of humanity or grace in her one scene?
anyway. it’s been years of talking about this and the fandom has been constantly hostile to criticism in this regard, and more recently any criticism at all, and it’s Grating to be on the other side of this discussion. it’s exhausting to know that in ten years we do not get even an acknowledgment besides the author saying she will not answer questions about nicky and thea anymore. it’s upsetting and it’s ugly and i wish no one had to talk about this again, but we do because what i thought was common sense has been washed away by a sudden influx of no-nuance adoration for the trilogy. basically i hope we all explode
two hours later edit: you're allowed to reblog this! sorry about the confusion

Honestly i adore reading your rambles and headcanons, the way you manage to build these characters and like... Break them down and remake them from the ground up is just so inspiring.
Which is why I got a lil question for u!! Do you think Peppino and Gus would consume fiction (movies, books, etc)? If so, what genre do you think they would enjoy? 🥺
U are so sweet 🥺💜 It helps that ur supposed to do that for characters you make to help them feel more relatable and all that jazz. I just do the same to characters i like in any fandom (being in the k/h fandom really helps w this unfortunately 😭😭😭)
ANYWAY I think Peppino ‘War Vet’ Spaghetti does not enjoy loud games or loud movies. Lots of the most popular movies are Horror related or Action related and he wouldnt be able to sit through them for long without getting upset. Too many explosions, too many broken down buildings and overturned cars and guns and EXPLOSIVE GUNS. Just let him watch MASH or something 😭 I like the idea of him just watching sports in his free time as well. Its enough action (and violence) to get him excited and invested but with the important lack of Guns and Explosions and Death. Sports will often put him to sleep tho so does it REALLY count as watching if the tv is just watching him instead?
I write Gus (at least in my own free time) as a easygoing, freespirited kind of dude who will not turn down anything even remotely fun or exciting. Even before leaving the forest to go work with Peppino, he would often wander outside the forest and explore, rarely ever staying home for long. I feel like he would be someone who enjoys the escapism of movies and theater. Its cute to think of him as a hopeless romantic heehee he’ll sit and watch those cheesy lifetime movies for ages if hes lounging around Peppinos house. Romance films often double as adventure movies, or more like. An extensive Journey where ur life is completely upheaved for better or for worse. Its nice :) I would say hed enjoy what wed consider sci-fi, but is it really sci-fi in a world with actual aliens and wizards and talking veggies? Lmao
Peppino wont watch too many movies on his own time (too long; fell asleep) but he’ll try and sit through them if Gus is there watching it. Peppino goes to His Chair and Gus is like ‘oh dont do that; thats the sleepytime chair’ and Peppino is like shut the HELL up its not and then hes snoring like 15 minutes into the movie. HOWEVER. He will wake up AS SOON as the movie ends without fail. It does make him feel validated, though, to see Gus completely knocked the hell out, sleeping against Brick.
