maybe it truly is just nostalgia but i honestly dont think any soulcalibur game has soulcalibur ii beat in the dialogue/intros department. the delivery is cartoonish but not corny the way it is in soulcalibur vi. the lines themselves are just SO full of personality. maxi's "my my, aren't we calm?", raphael's "well then, let us dance!", talim's just general sense of budding self confidence. some characters improved over time, like yunseong felt less generic in iii and in iv. but still, i dont think we will ever get another soulcalibur with a roster as vibrantly portrayed as they were in scii
