It’s not like Adam couldn’t get home, he still has his bicycle, but the thought of being ditched leaves him mildly annoyed before realization smacks him like a brick to the face.

Ronan is right in front of him.

The Weight You Carry -

Adam Parrish has a peculiar habit, one Ronan becomes well-acquainted with over the years. A short story about five times Ronan finds Adam in (somewhat) strange positions, and one time he takes matters into his own hands.

Maybe there are a lot of gay guys, just like Ronan, who have come here because they want their own kid, too. Maybe, just like him, they all learned from their sensible, science-minded husbands that the turkey baster method doesn’t actually work.

Adam Parrish has always been a go-getter, an overachiever, a multi-tasker extraordinaire. Why would this change just because he's in the middle of doing something when he gets an important, potentially life-changing phone call?

They meet at a New Year's party, they share a kiss at midnight, they sneak away to hook up. Things get complicated when they only see each other once a year or, maybe, that's just an excuse they tell themselves to feel better about whatever it is they're doing.

I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, anon, but like. for future reference to my followers in general I guess, I'd deeply appreciate it if - in the event that you have some kind of issue with me or something I've posted on here - you would either directly raise the question with me so we can have a discussion, or block/unfollow without comment if you're really too upset to discuss it directly.

Obviously I can't make you do either of those things, but it really seems like a lose/lose to just send a vague, anonymous message. I don't know what to do with that, and quite possibly don't know what you're talking about at all - I can be really dense at times! This means the odds of my changing my behavior or considering alternate perspectives are close to zero, because I simply genuinely Do Not Know what it is I ought to do differently.

But I genuinely am never trying to hurt or offend people on here, and so. idk. it just puts me on edge when I'm told I'm wrong but not what I'm wrong about.

It's been said before, it will be said again, but it's still worth saying: the fact that art centering on straight romance is allowed to just be bad, but art with queer romance in it always has to be indicative of A Serious Problem With the Way We Tell Queer Stories makes being a queer person making queer art deeply stressful
