Whatever dread Hiccup was harboring inside him vanished. Snow gathered at the edges of his vision as he leaned in to kiss Jack goodbye. He was in love — he was loved. He wanted to ask Jack if he could come with him this time. The fierce desire to step over the threshold of Berk with both Toothless and Jack by his side reared its head, but he swallowed it for now, content with the chilly pressure of Jack’s forehead against his. He was in love, he was loved, and he was struck with a deep certainty that he would do anything to keep that love in his life. He shivered from the gentle sensation of Jack’s claws tracing his cheekbone. He’d keep this. As long as Jack loved him. He’d keep this.

It’s not the exact anniversary, but last April I posted the first WWH drawing which led to me meeting the some of the loveliest people, making a genuine friendship, and rapidly developing my artistic style and writing voice. It’s so bizarre to think this crack crossover ship would mean so much to me in the last year but it did. What is in the water here. Anyway. Thank you for engaging with my work, it means the world!

(In love with those concepts is so movement and flow) reincarnated Jack’s sister is an idea that haunts my brain and I actually had a convo w @hijacksecrets n others where there was also a theory where she was also baby tooth (matching freckles!) and I did doodles so hew

But the small moments worth living??? I love it it hurts but I love it

@midoristeashop One of your art concepts have Jack´s sister as the wind or something like that, and I zoned in SO hard. I figured that instead of being the wind, she could be the breeze instead; this sort of metaphorical representation of the small moments that make life worth living. The little things. The little guys. Like the breeze.

Also. ALSO. What if. What if Emily ended up dying not so long after jack? For different reasons, but...yeah. And she got transformed into yet another gentle spirit. And what if--what if she can remember Jack (Frost) but Jack can´t remember her? Or what if they can´t remember each other but the sibling bond is still there so they stick to each other?

OR WHAT IF. what if she got sent into the future and they got to reunite? what then. WHAT THEN

God your drawings are AWESOME as always!!! I was wondering-I love how you make compositions work. You make the characters fit into the scenes that your drawing as if they're there, giving your drawings a very 3D, 4D sort of feeling to it. Do you have any tips or advice when it comes to this? I always find myself having trouble with that the most; knowing how to give a drawing depth.

HEY NOTEEE 🫶🏼

First of all tyty you always make my day brighter w ur comments and tings <3

Um composition yeah so I’ll be so real and say most of the time I’m going off the animatics in my head and vibes BUT some tips I can give:

1. Rule of thirds!

Basically, in your canvas ur gonna draw this thing

And wherever those lines cross, put the subject or the most important element of your piece in that area! It’s a neat little trick that helps your eyes move around the piece + have a little more dynamics overall <3 (or in the middle, but like,,, depends on the vibe u know)

2. Love your subjects AND your backgrounds

This is annoying but something I had to learn on my own is that if you want a cohesive piece, love your bgs how you would love your subjects! Using similar styles like lineart, lineart BRUSHES, rendering brushes just putting a little bit of everything into the entirety of your piece def helps make your illustrations feel cohesive.

3. Greyscale - know your lights and darks

Ok this one is tricky but something I love doing before doing a really big illustration/ scene in general is doing a grey scale thumbnail. This is where you can actually see/experiment w depth and contrast! Ex. Your subject (in general) is gonna be a focal point in your piece, so making sure that they don’t blend in with the mid tones/greys really helps with knowing what is in front, and what’s behind.
