Q: This is pretty random, but I just happened to stumble on to ur blog and when I was lurking I happened to notice u said something about Jean being ‘self absorbed’ or an ‘inconsiderate’ a hole. Im not sure if the proper wording, but I’m curious cause I’m not often on the ‘meta’ (or whatever click this is) side of aot fandom, but generally what makes u think this. Bc it seems like canon tries to convince us otherwise?

Oh, hello!

I have a very death-of-the-author approach to all fiction, but especially SnK. What that means is that what Isayama said or intended and what was said in interviews should have zero bearing on how I interpret it; only purely what he has written in the story matters. And Isayama has a large problem with an unintended gap between what he tells us and what he shows us. He tells us Armin is a hero but he shows us he’s a villain. He tells us that Eren had no choice but shows us that he did. He tells us Jean is a redeemed man but shows us he isn’t.

Canon does try to tell you Jean is a good lad. What we are shown, however, is that he’s indeed self-centred and inconsiderate. Lemme bring up a few prime examples:

- Jean is responsible for the death of 1-2 billion people. He shot the thunder spear that prevented Reiner from killing Eren, which is directly the action that caused the rumbling. Still, he reaps all the glory of being perceived as a hero who stopped it. He genuinely thinks that he did a good thing. He refuses to self-reflect and see that he merely limited the destruction of his own actions, not that he saved people.

- Related, he only cares about what people did TO him. He only cares about what RBA did TO him, not what he did to RBA. He told his own victims that it was their fault the rumbling started (ch127) and takes zero responsibility for starting the rumbling until the very end.

- He has zero compassion for Reiner’s grief and can’t even talk about Bertholdt to him, yet expects infinite compassion for what happened to Marco when RBA showed much more compassion for their victim than AMJC ever did despite knowing that Marco’s death saved lives and Bertholdt’s death is why there’s a rumbling. No moment of reflection that if they’re the same, then that means he has hurt them and they are human beings with emotions. No “shit… I did this”. No bare minimum.

- I don’t think he even cares that he killed Bertholdt. Does he remember? Nothing about him shows he has any remorse or care about it

- The only reason he joined the alliance is that there was peer pressure. He was afraid that he’d be judged if he didn’t. He didn’t care about saving people until he realised that he’d be adored for it. See: how he told RA it was their own fault their people died and it was a gotcha.

He learned nothing. He got worse. He went from objecting to killing to being so proud of himself that he managed to forget he killed a billion. All of this is probably because Isayama genuinely thought he did no wrong, but death of the author leads to the conclusion that he only cares about himself and he has tendencies to blame his victims.

Already Troublesome || Arakiel || Trial 1-1 || RE: Erik Azr, Erika L, AIRika

People were talking about quite a lot already, but it seems just as he thought people were going to fixate on the most obscure shit first. Tiresome, annoying, stupid, he had a plethora of words to describe how that felt, but none of them left his mouth until a good while into discussion, his preference for silence being broken.

He rose his voice as he spoke firmly during a moment of silence, standing himself up and placing his hands on the podium before him. He looked tired, but more than that annoyed as he spoke through his teeth, as he was wont to do.

"You all want to talk about this pepper like it'll fuckin make or break the case. I fuckin admit it was weird to be there, but until we got somebody telling us how exactly it's fuckin' important we ain't getting anywhere. But sure, be my guest and waste more of our time talking about a damn pepper."

He thought that being as obscure as it is it would be u likely to lead to anywhere important, but he figured at the very least he could offer his two sense on the matter, maybe to give people something to think about instead of the pepper, or more likely cause discussions to stray further from what he'd prefer. He sighed.

"Here's my thought on it, it's fuckin weird, a pepper holds no similarity to any of the fruits that were gathered yeah? Apples and pears don't exactly go great with a pepper, least not uncooked. Not to mention unlike the other two fruit only one pepper was taken from the fridge, the rest were left behind, which can't be said for the other two fruit." He stood up straight crossing his arms. "The only logic I could think of behind that, given the rather edgy tone of all of the letters written out, would be... that perhaps Paisley or whoever else was allergic to the pepper and wanted to use it to put an end to those feelings of theirs. And everything else for that matter."

That's how he felt about it, it was the only conclusion he was able to reach based on what they had found, but that didn't explain too much after everything. There were still gaps needing to be closed, and there was no way to confirm an allergy in a dead body that he knew of. He was fine being wrong, but more than that he didn't want to ramble about a damn pepper that may or may not be important.

His eyes moved across the room, landing on Erik Azr as he spoke firmly.

"Now that we're done talking about the stupid vegetable, I'd like to be very fucking clear, this ain't no mistake or accident. I don't give a fuck what the killer has to say, you don't just accidentally stab somebody. You can say it was your emotions or you saw red or whatever, but nothing fucking excuses taking somebodies life. So don't fucking try and make us feel bad for the killer cause they got hit by stabbers remorse after the fact and bandaged her wounds or whatever, it don't change the fact she's dead because of them, nothing will." He was speaking as if venom were pouring from his lips, clearly not too much of a fan or Erik's attempt to sympathize with our killer. "I will not sugar my words for a killer, so instead, how about you find out the truth before you white knight for them Azrael, you don't know who the fuck you're defending here."

He sat back down, bringing one leg up onto his chair and resting an arm over it as he leaned back, he was done with his speech of sorts about the pepper and how he felt about the choice of words this early on. His eyes dropped slightly as he grew tired once more, his energy spent, as if he were a wind up toy that only operated when riled up or angry. He hated this entire arrangement and nothing was going to change that. Still, he had some final words before he allowed things to continue and somebody else to have the floor.

"Right then… as for my alibi you all already heard it, Ae-ra was being a fucking bitch, I poured some syrup on her, then played video games until the body was found. After I found it I felt uncomfortable and went to shower before coming back to help look around a little."

A shrug as he turns his head down to Indicate he was done talking. Fun. He was horrible

Pick one of your characters and talk about their growth (we recommend choosing an older character, but it’s up to you!) What about their story has surprised you? What are you proud of? How have they changed from their original inception to now?

Last year I wrote Amity for the following question which means now I can write about her for THIS question. Did I succeed in taking Amity where I wanted to take her??

Absolutely!

It was a long time coming, but Amity has broken free from the Blights! She had done what I always intended for her to do: fail, and fail hard, and in spectacular fashion, the kind of heart-breaking, soul-crushing failure that I’m sure every former gifted child is shuddering to think about. I should know; I am one of them.

That kind of failure was very important to me because of the next stage of her journey, where she gets to build herself back up from nothing. What’s surprising so far– it probably shouldn’t be tho, lol– is how haaaaaaaaaaaard that’s going to be. Like, I knew it was going to be hard, but I wanted to make her a ward for the RAS in part to show her that adults can be trusted. However, that part didn’t pan out the way I thought, and y’know, Amity is valid for that. Right now, she very much believes they can’t be. She trusts Riley most of all, and she trusts Mim. And that’s… the entire list. Even Marlin is on thin ice, but she believes she’s safe as long as Mim is looking out for her.

So yeah, she’s definitely still searching for her purpose. I have lots of ideas for her and the fact we have Grand Prix stuff– and Lilith– means there are lots of interesting ways Amity can go from here!

Pick another character (or the same character if you only have one) and talk a little about where you WANT them to go. What are your plans for them going into the new year?

I’ll talk about Snow, briefly (I hope). Year One of a character for me is always very foundational. Im trying to build relationships and that usually means not a lot of like, plotty plot stuff gets done. And hey, i did that! Snow’s got lots of great relationships and she’s established in town, which means that in the coming year, i can maybe kick off some more ‘intentional’ moves with her, both big and small.

Small Plots:

-i’d like to do more small-scale necromancy stuff, helping some vamps or doing some medium stuff! I should hook Snow up with Elliot maybe and get that cracking.

-i’d like to so more small-scale interior design and hotel stuff! Teased this for a task a while back but i want Snow to do some freelance interior design bc i think its neat. And I want to tie both this and the above mediumship thing in because i love the idea of like, redecorating a space as a way to help a restless soul move on. Its got that thematic resonance that i think is true for anyone who has ever felt like a new person after u go thru ur stuff and do a lil make over.

Big Plots:

-Big necromancy stuff, which in this case mostly means telling ppl who dont know that she’s a necromancer or that coming into like, actual relevance. I don’t know how yet but im def open to some cool ass spooky yucky death shit lets get it

-Family and Snow’s Past: she hasn’t talked to her parents for a year now. Would love to poke that and maybe have her parents call her. Also, it’s in my mind to have Estella, the woman accused of killing Snow, do a retrial and Snow being implicated in that.

Amity Demon Prom Arc: obviously this gets a shoutout as it is the biggest plot thing i did this year in terms of affecting the entire rp lol. I was definitely nervous going into it…id done big plots before, but those felt shared among my partners in a way that this didn’t. Amity was def the star, I guess I’m saying– it was her actions and no one else’s, as opposed to helle doing something or the order fall out etc. SO YEAH i was worried about it and felt burdensome asking people to do paras about it, which i know is silly, but IN THE END it worked out! I loved the build up with the blights and also amity’s lil circle– mainly mim and riley. Writing Amimity taking on Ashmedai was super epic and Lins did such a great job writing that action with me. And ofc, all the aftermath which was wrought with emotion and i got to play a completely broken amity but also a strong amity like even though her life was in ruins she stood up to Odalia…ugh. It’s what I envisioned for her from the start. I’m so happy with how it turned out.

Piplo Surprise Thread: Throwing this one on here bc yeah i know. I know ive done a similar plot before. But i frankly never get tired of turning animals into humans. I think its funny. And this thread WAS funny and also tense and emotional and milo has arrived AT THE PERFECT TIME for pip’s general arc! He like, needs someone like Milo– a confidante who knows about Boba and is endlessly loyal lmfao. Or else can u imagine how much worse he’d be.

Random Phinnip Discord Moments: shouting this out bc what i like about it is that emma and i never say to each other what if phinnip are weird and fight in this discord event…they just do that on their own. But yeah got lots of iconic fight moments like pip and phineas doing that weird five dollar quid bet, or pip exposing his nyu drama and also phineas running off to taco bell together… its all very improvised and frankly that kind of fun improv rping has been a huge joy for me this year.

F.R.O.G. Heist: another silly thread. I just love silly threads can i get EVEN MORE SILLY THREADS. But yeah this was an amazing thread with Drakken and Mim, such an oddball trio and I miss them!! I love this thread because it honestly just has everything: action, comedy, weirdness. It was a challenge to write on my part because I don’t feel confident with action, so I’m proud of how it turned out. Need to somehow throw Nemo back at Drakken as he is an adult Nemo respects, against all odds lmfao.

The Ashleys Break-up: ive talked about this i think but i just think this plot is not something we do a lot– like a friendship break up. It was HORRIBLE to write because Ashleigh is a horrible person. I didn’t enjoy it but at the same time, like, i did?? Because it was so new and it hurt in a good way. And writing should def make you feel something so there u go

The Acheron Children Reveal: This thread had it all. Grand reveals, dramatic confrontations, Opal being a little terror, and me getting to RP Hades and Snow’s first meeting, which is a big deal to no one but me. I loved it!! Love this plot in general, it’s very fun, dramatic, and silly to an extent– like, maybe not the same kind of silly as the nihon plot at all, but just the kind of bizarre humor that I really love and thrive at.

In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 strengths and talk about why you think it’s one of your strengths.

Ive done this questionnaire too much and i never improve on anything so its just gonna be the same shit yall im so sorry lmfao.

Image Systems: this is still my best thing i think. Its what really helps a character come into focus for me in the first place and definitely helps me wake up the muse if im struggling. I love using weather metaphors for nemo or a billion pop culture references for pip. I just love an image system.

Crea…tivi…ty? I could just write LORE but gosh atp im almost a cliche @ myself. So i’ll go even broader and just say hey i can come up with a lot of oddball ideas! Maybe its plot related (the nihon plot) or maybe its a spill meme. Maybe its new lore and maybe its a throwaway joke. When im at my best, i feel like an idea factory lolol.

Spontaneity: also a weakness which i’ll use to expose myself in a second but i like taht im a go with the flow rper and will follow my own silly tangents. It makes rp FUN and i hope that people have as much fun reading some of those replies as i do writing them!!

In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 areas of improvement.

I have no flaws actually (joke). With this im going to get granular why not

Pay attention to excessive filtering

Pay attention to use of the beloved m dash

Work on more creative metaphors and imagery

Edit out like 50 percent of characters saying ‘oh’ before they finish their sentences lmfao

Establish setting better so ppl dont think ur character is inside when u are very much outside (if u know u know)

Plot more intentionally or check in with partners more about direction of a thread (even if i love for a thread to do whatever it wants lmfao)

And so on and so forth.

Pick one of your plots, or even just a character, and come up with a list of 3-5 “mentor texts” where you can look for inspiration or research, then write a short (2-4 sentences) why you picked those texts. (They don’t have to be books, either!)

I guess i’ll do SNOW sure.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha: This de-light-ful little kdrama really helped me hone the ‘gentle’ part of Snow’s gentle fantasy last fall before she came into this rp. It’s about a city dentist who comes to the small seaside town of Gongjin to set up a private clinic where she meets a town handyman. Does that sound like a Hallmark movie to you? It does. It’s better though. What I loved about this drama was how it made Gongjin the town a character too, and spoke a lot about connection and community. I wanted this for Snow, both with her staff and in Swynlake as a whole. Also, this is why I gave Snow her fabulous LA backstory bc c’mon aren’t we all suckers for the culture shock and hallmark moments we are!!

Gideon the Ninth: it is no secret that I picked this up while working on Snow’s necromancy, but in reality this gave me WAY more Amity inspo. Hilarious, i know. BUT I will say the Seventh House specifically–the rose unblown– really gave me lots of inspo for how Snow THINKS about death. This is a house that finds death inherently beautiful, and the lush descriptions of disease in Gideon the Ninth made me so excited to write about corpses and blood and all that fun yucky stuff. Romanticize the shit out of it. That’s what Snow is here to do.

Hotel Del Luna: It is ALSO no secret that I basically stole this kdrama’s main premise because it is about a hotel manager for the hotel of the dead, though it’s like, way more about dead people than the Hauntley because unfortunately we don’t have enough dead people in this rp and I have to NPC the ghosts more lol. What this kdrama really did though was give me ideas about how necromancy can be connected to past lives. This is a plot I’m doing right now with Robbie and Nemo and would love to do more because it’s dope, really. Also, Snow’s expensive wardrobe is a homage to Jang Man-wol, the og. I was so so so so close to using IU. I think about her every day.

IU’s album, Lilac: Ahem, so the concept of Lilac is "greeting/farewell.” I’m going to quote IU now because she can speak for herself "Since I debuted at the age of 18…I'm making this album because I want to say goodbye to those who have been watching over my twenties, and thank you to those who watched until the very end. I want to have a glamorous goodbye. Something glamorous, without sadness. [...] I want to reach my thirties with a clean slate. In the language of flowers, 'lilac' means 'memories of youth.' I wanted to include a farewell with the message 'I'm now going onward to my next chapter' while also greeting my upcoming 30s at the same time.”

This is very Snow and contains a lot of her themes. Snow’s story begins with goodbye. It begins with literal death. But the whole point of it is that she emerges more hopeful and even more powerful. IU’s album is full of gorgeous spring/winter imagery and songs about the inevitability of aging and like really tackling how contentious that is for women and especially for women in the spotlight. All of that is VERY Snow White, like not even just my snow, but like, The Snow White. It contains one of the most powerful ballads I’ve ever heard called “My Sea,” which is my fave genre of song, aka, talking to your childhood self and forgiving yourself for your own turbulence. It’s fuckin stunning.

Random shoutout also to all the architectural digest walk-throughs that I watch, and to Paige Wassal for teaching me about prop styling and Marie Kondo’s book about tidying up and the belief that even every day objects have their own spirits.

And now, a wishlist! Jot down a few themes or stories or genres etc that you want to maybe pursue in the upcoming year!

-Tournament Arc: I might have said this last year. I’ve been saying it for a while. But I just think we need to have a canon anime style tournament esp now that we have grand prix lore and shit like i want a proper tournament. Just wanna punch stuff idk.

- 2 Baddies 2 Baddies 1 Porsche: sorry bad reference but the tl;dr is i would like to do some villain-esque plotting in the new year maybe!! Dabble with the darker sides of stuff.

-More Silly Stuff: While writing this, i realized how so many of my fave things to write were inherently silly. I should lean into this! I want HIJINKS. I want off the wall things! Dumb stuff. Maybe i should be trying to work on my weaknesses, but nay, i’ll simply indulge them!

-Ghost plots??? Sort of talked about it with Snow but like… I got an inn full of ghosts. I also have Hades, who is King of the Underworld. Kinda wanna play with some ghosties some more. I did it in my first two years of the rp so maybe getting more into it, esp with Snow (no offense Hades, but snow has more interesting opinions about ghosts).

-Love Triangle: they get a bad rep i know! But they can be done well and personally I think i could do them well, lmao.

OPTIONAL: Why do you RP?

I’ve answered this question for like five years in a row, and i dont have anything new to say! RP is my number one hobby and what consumes most of my brain energy, for better or worse. I just love this world and i love my characters and i love finding out what happens and i love that i can do all that and not worry too much about if my writing is “good.” i get to practice in the most generous and supportive playground with all my friends. Thank god i logged onto neopets and starting rping on those forums!! Thank god!

Self care of the day is taking my hdmi cord out of the living room now before I have to argue no actually the shiny bronze cord is mine with my ra who will tell me “uh clearly you’re wrong bc I already gave your cord back to you”

#for context one of her friends needed to borrow one so she lent hers and I lent my extra one to the living room #her friend gave it back but I never actually grabbed mine bc it was an extra so it didn’t really matter #but now that I’m messing with my switch again it does matter #she absolutely has and will tell me that things didn’t happen #like even stupid things #and it’s like. my guy. ur not winning points here and also like stuff I have is organized categorically #also no one has a shiny bronze hdmi cord and idk why I do. what’s the point #other than it’s super easy to find in a box of cords which is why that was the first cord I found and lent to the living room #literally like. ugh. not to complain about my roommates. well roommate singular who is my ra also #the other one I used to not be able to stand. “Xiao? Oh no nothing’s wrong, it’s just….” you trail off your words as you look down on yourself. You shouldn’t have been eating too much, now you have gotten fatter than before. Blame those delicious foods! They were tempting you to eat them, and it always works! And your acne, it just keeps on having more! Does your face just hate the soap you use? Plus your glasses, you were fine with them until your acne appeared. And now, your family talks bad about you. Why did they have to judge you?

“You should stop eating too much! Now look at you, you’re much fatter than before.” “What happened to your face?! You look uglier especially now you have glasses!” It’s their fault you started overthinking.

Well, you were thinking of ways to look beautiful but the ways you always choose are the harsher ones. You thought that whenever you feel pain, you would gain something. So you started skipping meals (just lunch and dinner), exercise even when you’re in pain, you did everything just so you could feel beautiful! Oh if only it’s that easy. One day, you couldn’t feel your body so you decided to drop it and take a rest. If you’re ugly then you’re ugly, you’re just so tired of all of it. You were just harming yourself, and when Xiao finds out, he’ll force himself to comfort you. You knew he wasn’t really good at comforting someone since he’s new to this. He has already a lot to think of, so why add yourself to his burden? You kept this to yourself since then.

‘What would Xiao think of me now? Does he think i’m a weirdo that eats too much? I’m so sorry, I can’t help it. I did everything to make me skinny again! Would he still love me? Would he still love me even with my bare face? Would he look for other people that are way too beautiful than me? No of course not Xiao would never do that! …Right? No wait i’m overthinking about it again, stop listening to the negative thoughts (y/n), you got this! ….Do I?’

You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t feel Xiao cupping your cheeks and calling you. You feel something wet staining your cheeks, you were crying. He removed your glasses and put it on his lap, you decided to put your head down but his hand held your chin to make you look up, while the other wipes away your tears.

“(y/n) hey what’s wrong? You can tell me.” He then cup your cheeks with both of his hands and bring your face closer to his until your foreheads are touching. At this point, you couldn’t stop your tears now.

“Don’t worry it’s just a s-stupid reason-“

“Whatever it is, it’s not just a stupid reason. Especially if it made you cry.” He said and kissed your nose. He pulled away then guided you to his chest, to which you followed hesitatingly. You buried your face in his chest while he hugged your waist and drew circles on your back, silence engulfed the two of you for a while until he spoke up.

“You… can start talking about it now, if you want then maybe later. I’m always here to listen, i don’t care if it’s stupid or not,” He hugged your waist tighter, “I know i’m not the best in comforting people, but for you… i’ll try.” He said as he put his chin on your head.

You couldn’t bare it anymore, so you told him how you felt. You told him how you just couldn’t feel beautiful, how your parents cared more about your appearance, how you’ve tried the harsh ways but gained nothing, how you’ve been overthinking and it always made you cry.

And he listened, not even thinking to let you go.

“I’m s-sorry, I really don’t want to be a burden to you so I-I chose to keep it to myself.” You sniffed, “I’m so sorry that you got stuck with me rather than those people who look better and act better than me.” You wiped your tears, your eyes must be red by now.

“Why are you saying sorry? You did nothing wrong (y/n), no, you’re not a burden. I actually like it whenever you’re stuck with me. I don’t care about the others, why would I? I already have.. you.” He mumbled the last part but you heard it, “I’m actually glad you stopped doing it, it wasn’t making you happy anyway. You’re so beautiful, can’t you see? I’ve always adored you (y/n), and only you. Your parents are blind, y’know? Don’t mind them, I’ll be here to reassure you. And… starting from now on, I promise to make you feel…. beautiful.”

You looked at him wide-eyed and you feel tears at your eye again but this time, it wasn’t because you’re hurt, it’s because of relief and because now, you feel… pretty. You smiled at him and hugged him tightly, saying many thank you’s, while he looked at you with adoration in his eyes.

“That’s the smile I wanna see.” He cupped your cheeks and brought you closer to his face all while giving you a rare, small smile.

“I’ll accept your imperfections just like you accepted mine.”

Bonus:

“Am I…. getting good at this affection thing?” Xiao asked, his face and the tip of his ears are getting redder. You giggled and kissed the purple diamond on his forehead.

After sorting the problem, you two went to bed. You are very tired now so he decided to hug you from behind.

“Mhm! You’re getting very good at it.” He nodded and buried his face on the crook of your shoulder, hiding his red cheeks.

“Hm?”

Someone submitted something in my inbox and they wanted to remain anonymous. Since this is an extremely long essay, I will put it under the cut. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

xxx submitted: hey, i was the one who ask what do you think of Misha and Jensen's current relationship First off all thank you for your answear it means much to me cause im easy to be convice and this person who keep telling me that they are no longer friends can be so convicing, so I'm actully trying to forget what she said 😅 so I'm just writing a few. she said that since they no longer work together, they will forget about each other, and do their common things like the gay jokes, face touches ect. With other people, and neglect each other, don't talk to each other, and then meet new people who will replace the other. And and she talked about the gish thing, she said she sure they didn't talk since the end of the series, because Jensen didn't know where Misha was and Misha didn't know about the Radio Company vol 2 (but i saw people say that, they were just pretending, because Misha liked something about Radio Company Vol 2, before the gish live, so in theory he already knew then or something like that) and She said Misha wrote a poem about Darius not Jensen and now I will write down what she sent me : I saw a post about Jensen's current activities on social media, and I've come to the conclusion the only person he doesn't interact with is mish. Sadly this makes my break up theory even stronger. I feel like this is a goodbye to one of the biggest parts of my life. They've moved on from "uk what I haven't told you today? Everything about them was unmatched.+ The chemistry and how they just fit eachother. They had always been all over eachother. Like they were holding on eachother for dear life. They completed eachother and were like world's most powerful thing. They were the definition of soulmatism. No matter where, they ALWAYS kept interacting with eachother. Each possible tweet or insta post. On cons that the other wasn't there, the other one would bring up the othere's name for no absolute reason. +The looks and repeated love confessions. How invested they were both into eachother. The family they had built together cuz we know how close dee and mish are (look all the charity work they've been doing together recently). There are youtube videos to proof everything I've said so far.When i say break up, my real intention is that they've grown apart. Everything started in the the third or forth month of pandemic. Before than jensen used to interact +(comment mostly) on almost all of misha's posts. But after a while everything just stopped. At first personally didn't care that much. Bcuz I believed too much in them that I thought not even the gods above could separate them. I told myself maybe they spend long hours chatting or video calling and that's why online public interactions are gone. But as it passed it almost diminished to zero. Except some likes from jackles and eventual ones from misha there weren't anything else.+ We got absolutely no content and the show went off too. We were helpless and were sticking to everything we had Dee had a big social media shot down, so as jensen. Misha was busy with the election. We got some interviews for it with all of them. But we didn't get much.except remember both of them pulling a bff

move. and texted eachother during an online con where everyone else were dead-serious about politics? That flickered something in me. That showed me that+ they can't ever possibly let eachother go. And the times everyone else were talking and these too would just talk random things together (the one jackels had a white hat on with stacy abraham).And then Misha posted that for jensen's bday We really overlooked it. That shit was too intimate. To close. Fav march baby? U just don't go around and called ur bestie baby and when u mean it deeply. Jensen and Misha's expressions were EXACTLY the same. The genuine smiles and longs pauses were they just stared at eachother. I'm so happy that it was online cuz if they actually gave that looks to eachother standing right next to the other one I would've collapsed. Misha didn't know that jensen's album+ was out. And he got so embarrassed when he found it out. He didn't know that jensen was on set and hadn't been home for 8weeks. Jensen had no idea where misha was. And this means that they hadn't talked in a long long time.When you're that close with someone for more than a decade, i mean THAT close, even if u're separated from eachother you'd at least check on the once a week, or at least once in two weeks. I don't know who this person who has been talking to is but I have to say they seem to be project their previous relationship experience on cockles.

I believe Jensen and Misha are okay and are together. Social media likes and comments don't mean anything. I mean it's not like Jensen or Misha used to comment on each other's posts before. Jensen didn't even wish Dee Happy Mother's Day this year, does that mean they are not together anymore? Nope. He has other best friends he has known for over 20 years like Jason Manns, Steve Carlson etc that he doesn't wish happy birthday, does that mean they are not friends anymore.

Please let's not put value on social media likes. I don't even follow my own family on sm and I don't always like or comment on my bf's or bff's posts on sm. So it doesn't mean anything.

As for the Gish Panel, I have talked about it before, the time Jensen was slotted to attend the panel, he was meant to answer fan questions. I honestly believe they decided to not do it at that time because they knew the questions would be about Destiel and not their new projects. If you watched that panel, Misha knew that Jensen's album was out as I pointed out. He was just trying to promote the album and soldier boy. He knew Jensen had also buffed out. It was all to promote Jensen. Anything else you hear is trolls and antis just being loud. Also don't forget Jensen called him "babe".

If Jensen and Misha weren't okay, he wouldn't have attended or participated all those panels Misha organized especially for Gish. Danneel also posts a lot about RA and likes Misha's posts. I am 100% Misha visited the Ackles when he went to Colorado last month.

Stop listening to trolls and/or antis or just people who are projecting and look at facts.

You’ve talked about how fandom treats jtodd & dick, so what are your thoughts on how fandom treats dick & tim?

There’s this post that’s asking about people’s batfamily hot takes, and I was scrolling through the reblogs bc I love drama. One of the “hot takes” was calling dick a bad brother bc of the bruce lost in time comic era. Specifically saying that fandom excuses dick’s shitty behavior towards Tim bc his dad (Bruce) died and because of the stress of taking care of the city by himself. While Tim was hurting because of the deaths of Kon, Bart, Jack, Steph, and Donna (idk why they included Donna as Tim’s grief and not Dick’s??) and therefore Tim’s & Dick’s hurt and stress aren’t the same. According to this person, Tim was going through it and Dick was making it worse.

Now, I’m not going to claim I know how everything went down since I haven’t read those comics yet, but this feels like a gross misunderstanding of the arc.

From what I’ve seen, fandom tends to invalidate and villainize Dick during this time in favor of Tim. Dick is not being excused, in fact he’s being blamed for things that are either not his fault or just made up in order to whump Tim. Idk that “hot take” just rubbed me the wrong way because of how one-sided it was, and I guess it made me wonder about your thoughts about Dick & Tim since I tend to agree with your opinions lmao

fundamentally the issue is this — dick grayson existing and being a good person is an obstacle for fanon angst. dick grayson being a good brother means that jtodd can’t just slot into his pre-existing relationships with tim and cass and damian. dick grayson being a good friends means that he’s close with the titans and the league because he’s competent and trusted. dick grayson being kind means that he didn’t abandon tim, he was literally trying to keep everything together after bruce’s death.

not to try and make it a grief olympics but as much as people talk about everyone tim has lost (and i think they must have been talking about dana winters in that post?) people seem to forget that dick’s city just got nuked + the fallout of nightwing 93 + donna dying + jade dying + the titans falling apart + he was just locked in arkham himself. like… his dad has just died, he’s had to fight off his brother who’d just tried to kill both tim and damian and been given custody over a kid who doesn’t trust him

red robin 2009 has done irreversible harm to tim drakes character. people using that as the starting point for reading about him is bad. it’s a comic about a grief spiral, and it isn’t an amazing depiction of him either. but even then, people just seem to love straight up fabricating what’s in it.

dick tells tim that therapy might be a good idea. tim tells dick that he’s leaving because he trusts dick to let him do what he needs to do. even at his lowest point, dick is who he trusts most. those takes that’re like “tim drake was at his lowest point and then jtodd sees him and realises that he’s cool actually and they bond #jasontoddisagoodbrother #dickgraysonisabadbrother etc” because they like to posit that dick threatened to throw tim in arkham are so silly

that’s even ignoring how people just straight up lie about damian’s actions and how weird everyone is about ra’s al ghul. no, tim isn’t the only one he refers to as detective aside from bruce. no, tim isn’t one step away from being a mass murderer. no, damian didn’t try to kill tim— he was reacting to tim being suspicious of him. tim was beefing with a ten year old. why are u being so mean to the ten year old? (We Know Why)

ur right — it is extremely one-sided. im not one to pretend that canon is flawless by any means, but acting as though fanon is better just because someone online came up with it is also stupid. there are many many racist undertones with how jtodd and tim are interpreted, both separately and with each other. a lot of it is yaoi baiting dynamics, that a lot of fans don’t seem to want to admit. i won’t comment on how white people writing jtodd as latino and tim as asian can be Bad but like…. it’s all tied up together. people want these two characters to have suffered the most, because that justifies everything fans want them to do. they want them to be wronged. they want their idea of justice in their name

The summer you turned thirteen was the same summer your dad showed up again. Driving the same lemon of a car that he’d pulled out of the driveway in when you were six, he looked like he hadn’t aged. Or maybe you just didn’t remember him all that well because his face felt the same but you were different. When you missed your best friend’s birthday, a trip to the gymnastics gym on the mainland and a towering cake with fondant replicas of all her favorite things, she was rightly pissed.

Thirteen felt monumental, like the movie the two of you had snuck onto your mom’s Verizon bill, and you had both made a pact that you would be there for each other no matter what. That promise included birthdays and, more seriously, dads who showed up after seven years of radio silence because they didn’t want to “miss anything else”. But you didn’t mention your dad because hers was so great and you felt a little like you were floating on an island and no one could understand you enough to reach it. But then you missed her birthday and she swore not to speak to you and that felt more crushing than the dad thing until her brother stepped in. Always the one playing referee in when you fought, Rafe was a few years older and, in your mind, a lot smarter.

It felt pretty important that an older boy would make the time to talk to you, especially when he had to know that his sister was avoiding you at all costs. He’d just gotten his permit and, like any good brother, showed up in the car he wasn’t supposed to drive with a minor in the passenger seat, to take you around the island for the afternoon.

“My mom said she thinks we’re gonna move.” You mentioned, less casually than you would’ve hoped. The windows in the truck were rolled down and you had your legs up, feet placed precariously on the window ledge. There was a particularly nasty bruise on your knee from falling off your skateboard three days ago and a few short hairs you’d missed shaving. You were relatively new to both shaving and skateboarding so there were bound to be mistakes, you just wished they were less visible.

“Off the island?” Rafe asked, concern etched into his tone. You assumed the concern was for his sister, what would Sarah do if you moved? Who would put up with all her antics?

You shook your head, “to the cut.”

“Why?”

“She can’t afford the house on her own anymore and my dad has been lousy with child support.” You repeated back all the things she had said to you. Why she didn’t take him to court like the other kid in your grade with divorced parents was beyond you. Rose told her that it was the only way to ensure he paid what he was supposed to but she hadn’t been able to bring herself to hold him accountable.

Can’t believe you’re gonna be a pogue.” He said it like it meant something worse than you moving to the mainland.

“It’s not forever. My grandma’s house is there, we’re gonna stay with her until we can get back up on our feet.” You shrugged, “at least my dad’ll stay away then.”

But you dad wasn’t the only one who kept their distance. It felt like the distinction over your mother’s life choices held a greater impact on your friends than they had let on. A year into pogue life and Rafe seemed to disappear almost completely. It had always been an odd kind of friendship in the first place but you’d thought that it could’ve withstood a change in address.

Sarah kept in touch, unbothered by labels or mailing addresses. She’d been to your grandma’s a hundred times before you moved and she continued to go there to see you after. The two of you played in the backyard, doing tricks on the trampoline until gossiping about kids at school became more important than cartwheels. You’d lay there whispering as if someone might overhear, telling each other stories from the week that you were separated. Rafe always came to pick her up, staying in the car and honking the horn for her but never coming over to see you.

It felt a little lonely even though you technically retained most of your friends.

In tenth grade you got the role of Eponine in the teen camp production of Les Miserables that the local theatre was putting on. You were technically sharing the role with another girl your age but you couldn’t help being excited nonetheless. The boy playing Marius was in two of your classes, a senior who had lofty city dreams and a nice smile. He flirted almost constantly with you, brushing your hair back, telling you how pretty you were, inviting you out after practice. You told Sarah you were “pretty sure” you were on your way to having your first real boyfriend.

But maybe the ominous casting of Eponine over your life should’ve been hint enough that things weren’t destined to work out that way. The boy who played Marius had an actual girlfriend, home from vacationing with her family in time to watch her boyfriend on stage, and you were supposed to accept that he was just “connecting to the character” when he was with you. Either way, your On My Own struck a different chord in you and after the show was over you didn’t join the other cast members in the lobby to greet people.

“So when you get to New York...do I get to leak all those videos of you and Sarah doing your Genie in a Bottle routine?” Rafe asked, pulling a chair next to you at the makeup table. Yours was halfway off but you’d stopped scrubbing at your face to stare at yourself in the mirror. Self-pity was a powerful procrastinator.

“You’re supposed to be in the lobby.” You pointed out, ignoring his comment, “I look like a ghost raccoon that just climbed out of a dumpster.

“Now there’s an analogy.” He laughed and picked up the cotton pads you had sitting on the counter, soaking one in micellar water and turning your head to face him.

You bit your bottom lip as you tried to keep your composure. It’d been a while since you and Rafe had been alone and last time he was just your best friend’s cute older brother. Too old for you and way out of your league but you were fifteen now and seventeen didn’t feel so far away.

But Sarah was your best friend and she would be mortified if she found out that you had even entertained the idea of her brother, let alone had serious thoughts about it.

“I’m sorry,” you said as he swiped the cotton pad over your cheek.

“What for?”

“I know we’re all supposed to go out tonight for dinner but I kinda just wanna go home.” You replied.

“Sarah might’ve let it slip about-”

You groaned, “don’t even say his name.” You weren’t sure if it was embarrassment at having let yourself totally believe he liked you but hearing Rafe bring it up made you feel even worse.

“Hey, you’re so much better than that loser,” He insisted, “I’ll beat the crap outta him though, just say the word.”

It was that same year, just as school was ending, that you turned sixteen. A short stay in the cut at your grandma’s house had helped your mom get back on her feet. A new job, better than the one that let her go, afforded a moderately sized house back on Figure Eight and a birthday with all the friends that had left the two of you behind.

Sixteen felt a little more important than thirteen had, especially because, for two whole weeks, time suspended and you were technically only a year younger than Rafe. You still hadn’t told Sarah that you liked her brother, though she did seem a little suspicious when the crush on your co-star dissipated almost overnight. The boys of the past had no hold over your growing infatuation with Rafe. Maybe it was foolish but you couldn’t help thinking that maybe it wasn’t.

Especially not when he showed up at your house the same way he had when you were thirteen, though this time he had his actual license and not just a permit. He told you it was birthday drive around the island, that he was in charge of stalling you while Sarah set up a surprise party at your house.

“I don’t think you’re supposed to tell me that it’s a surprise.” You teased, sipping at the iced coffee that Rafe had brought you when he picked you up. You swished the ice around once before sipping again.

“It’s a party either way.” Rafe replied, shrugging his shoulder.

“So, we’re just driving around until she texts you?” You asked. Rafe turned into the Island Club, circling the parking lot once and then turning back around.

“I’m yours until Sarah says otherwise.” He said, the words erupting butterflies in your stomach. You could practically feel yourself heat up thinking about what those words could mean if he wasn’t just your best friend’s brother.

“Well...then do you wanna go to the beach?” You suggested, “Jaxon showed me this really cool spot on the south side that’s practically hidden.”

“Jaxon?” Rafe sounded judgmental when he said the other boy’s name, whether he meant to or not.

“Yea, we’ve been on a couple dates. You know him, he took me to prom,” you supplied, thinking of the way Rafe had sulked on the staircase while you and Sarah had gotten your pictures taken on the front lawn of Tanney Hill. The last picture in the bunch, despite his sulkiness, was of you and Rafe. You’d asked and he had obliged, coming down onto the porch to take a picture with you before everyone left for the dance.

It was your favorite picture, even more than the countless ones of you and Sarah or the few of you and Jaxon. He was just a place holder anyway, someone to take your mind off the thing you couldn’t have. Not that it was working, especially when you were driving around with Rafe at the moment.

“I remember him.” Rafe replied, “so this special part of the beach?”

“It’s so pretty.” You confirmed, “Sarah and I went there a couple weeks ago but she only ever wants to sunbathe.”

“Don’t say it like you’re surprised.” He said, pulling his car off to the side of the road when you told him to.

You were out of the car first, letting the door fall shut behind you as you headed up the wooden ramp to the beach. The drop off at the top was a little steeper here than anywhere else, the beach mostly desolate. You stopped at the top of the walkway, turning back to wait for Rafe. He was standing at the bottom of the ramp staring up at you.

“Are you coming up or what?” You called.

“Yeah,” he nodded, walking up the path to you.

“I know Sarah’s planning a big birthday for me, but I’d much rather have this...” you admitted, “just like, coming out to the beach with you...”

“Oh yeah?” He asked, grinning down at you.

“Don’t tell Sarah,” you joked, “she’ll be mad-”

“Why, cause I’m your favorite Cameron?”

Maybe it was being sixteen or maybe it was that you were feeling particularly bold, out here on the beach with just Rafe, no threat of prying eyes to interrupt you. Either way, you had been thinking about telling him for a while now and it felt like the time...even if getting rejected ran the risk of ruining your birthday.

“I know I’m just Sarah’s best friend but...I really like you Rafe.” You said, “and I know it’s like a million to one that you like me back but I just felt like I would explode if I didn’t tell you.” You waited a beat for him to say something and when he didn’t you kept talking, “Sorry, I know this is so weird-”

“It’s not weird.” Rafe cut you off, “I’m just shocked that you seriously think I only see you as Sarah’s best friend.” His tone was teasing as he brushed a piece of hair behind your ear and cupped your cheek. “You’re so much more than that.”

It was Sarah who told you, days before your eighteenth birthday. She’d seen Rafe with someone else when her family took a weekend trip out to Chapel Hill to see a game. There was a girl there, hanging all over her brother. He swore she was just a friend, told Sarah not to tell you, but Sarah wasn’t dumb and she wouldn’t help her brother cover up an indiscretion. So she told you flat out that her brother was cheating on you.

When Sarah first found out that you and Rafe were dating, she had been as mad as her thirteenth birthday. How could you go behind her back and date her brother? The anger dissipated slowly, over the course of the summer it became clear that were not going to leave her in the dust for Rafe. She wasn’t wholly supportive of the relationship but she was supportive of you and if Rafe was who you wanted to be with than she’d be happy for you.

But if she had to choose, it would always be you over Rafe.

“I didn’t want to tell you, I really thought about not saying anything but...you deserve to know.” It was the justification she used as your face fell, all the giddiness from planning your eighteenth birthday fading in the blink of an eye.

“He cheated?” And it felt like a punch to the gut. “Are you sure?”

“He said she was just a friend but...I don’t hang on my friends like that.” Sarah remarked.

You fiddled with the phone in your lap, Sarah’s comments turning over in your head. You could refute them, tell her that you’d just talked to him the night before and he told you how excited he was to see you, how much he loved you. He’d used the word love...that had to mean something right? You could call him, ask him straight away if he was actually cheating, but you suspected that he would only lie to you. And if he wasn’t cheating, if he did tell the truth, would you believe him? Sarah was your best friend and once she had planted the seeds of doubt in you, they seemed to flourish there.

You didn’t say anything else about it to Sarah that night and when Rafe called to talk, like he always did, you pretended that everything was fine. But that could only last for so long. A week before your party, on the same special part of the beach that Rafe had first kissed you, things ended. Rafe had sworn to Sarah that the girl at school was just a friend but he couldn’t lie to you, and he didn’t try to either.

“It was a mistake,” he insisted, as if it was the type of thing you could brush off.

“But you still made it.” You replied.

“I didn’t mean to.” Rafe didn’t have any good reasons for why he had cheated on, only that he had and that, since you now knew, he was apologetic. “I don’t even talk to that girl anymore. She meant nothing to me.”

“Obviously she meant more than we did.”

Rafe had been it for you for a long time. He seemed so out of your league and you had thought a million times that you would’ve done anything for him. He was the ideal for everything that you wanted and for a while, when you had it, had him, it had felt like a dream. But now you were waking up to reality and it wasn’t a sunset on the beach.

“I love you.” He said it like it was something you were neglecting to remember.

“Not enough.”

now that i’m done making stupid jokes to cope with that finale lemme articulate my thoughts on how i think v9 will go down:

so i am fully on the ‘v9 will only focus on wonderland squad’ train but also i would not be surprised if we got some vacuo gang content? if we DON’T get vacuo stuff though (like i think), wonderland time will 100% move differently than remnant time does

on the subject of wonderland, i’m leaning towards the big tree at the end being a gateway or doorway back to remnant that will take about half the season to find/learn about. it’s just too central to NOT play some sort of role

so how do they get to it? through the jungle! what will the jungle be filled with? the ghosts of their pasts or their worst fears, and i think the opening title sequence will hint pretty heavily towards this

theme-wise, the whole volume is going to revolve around relationships and emotions and i will die on this hill. the entire past two seasons have been about team rwby’s closeness and how it so often is to the benefit of their dynamic, so it makes perfect sense for this season to focus on said dynamic and the underlying problems. Ruby is probably going to have her sorely overdue breakdown and Weiss has a whole lot of trauma to deal with after the finale that i hope we’ll unpack a bit too

squad dynamic is going to be CRUCIAL so i don’t exactly know how jaune is gonna fit into all of it, athough i will say that if someone has to stay behind a la angella in she ra season 3, it’ll be him. i can’t explain it but i feel in my bones that jaune might die this season, either fighting off grimm/neo/some other monster or needing to close a gate while they all get back to remnant

those are the big beats that i think they might hit but honestly i’ll be happy with just about anything they do if the quality of the v8 writing is any indication of what we’re in for.

EDIT: i JUST thought of this because of something i read but i feel like neo could potentially be the queen of hearts? crwby was adamant that she isn’t the cheshire cat but they also said it’s funny people thought that, so what if this whole time and her whole arc was leading up to her getting to wonderland and fulfilling her epithet?

SO i fully am in the bees are already canon camp despite them technically not being together yet, so i don’t want to say this is the season that will canonize them because in my heart and opinion they already are. what i DO think, however, is that this will be the season where it’s explicitly articulated either through words actions or probably both.

i don’t think they’ll have them separated for too long given how more than half of v8 went, so i’m imagining they reunite within a couple of eps. while i do love the idea of them just running into each other’s arms and kissing, i don’t think that will happen realistically. i think instead we’re gonna get a fireside chat on the beach similar to their v2 chat when they went on the s&d mission with oobleck, leading to some big expression of feelings and a subsequent kiss. ruby and weiss will be like “finally” but jaune, sweet boy that he is, is either gonna be like “wait y’all were into each other?” or “you two weren’t already dating? i thought you’ve been together since beacon and all that business in argus was just a short term break up!”

there will also be at LEAST one moment where one of them trips or stumbles and the other very homoerotically catches them and pulls them in. i also feel a wink coming - i can’t explain it i just FEEL it. a date too maybe, like a night away from jrw that inevitably is cut short because of some incoming danger. this could happen in vacuo though double date with crosshares pls

i think we’ll get inundated with bee content to the point that if the season comes out in october it might be enough to push bees to the top of the tumblr ship rankings of 2021.

v9 going this direction even better contextualizes why there was no bee kiss or an overload of content in v8; if this volume truly has been planned since the beginning, holding off until then will do even more in terms of shutting up some of the “bees are forced” squad, not that i give one single solitary shit or fuck what they think.

final thought is that we are 100% getting another bee song on the v9 soundtrack and it will be exceptional
