I've had a WIP that's been fighting back against me for the past month or two now. I don't think Val is too happy with the contents of it and shes rebelling, but it's (currently) one of my longest one-shots as well as a deeper look into her past and her telling Nate a bit about it.
I refuse to give up or cut out too much, it's certainly a struggle though! Especially since it feels disconnected from itself mid-way through as if I've merged two similar wip's together, which isn't the case!

I saw your request were open and got super excited so here’s my request it’s kind of long so I hope you don’t mind
So the idea is that the beast people have mates and you can feel your partner through the bond and it’s not obvious or some kind of communication link, but you can feel that they’re there, and when you see them you know that’s your mate, like that’s who you’re meant to spend your life with. But Leona has never been able to feel the other side of the bond like he was supposed to. And that was just one more thing his brother had that he didn’t. And then all the sudden one day he can feel some thing on the other side of his bond (when the prefect is magically, transported to twisted wonderland) And when he finally see them he know that they are his mate
And congrats on 2.7
❋ We finally meet ❋
↳ Leona finally meeting his soulmate
Tumblr media
feat: Leona
genre: hurt/comfort, open happy ending(?)
note: no pronouns used with the reader, Leona is an emotionally constipated jerk (I’m sorry), follows game-canon storyline through Book 3
I genuinely did not think this would be as sad as I thought, but Leona… he got some issues… and I have met people like him which I actually took inspiration from…so I really am sorry. I still hope you enjoy it

Just like many things, Leona grew to give up on this fated partner drivel. The world kept screwing him over, so it’s better to not bother with trying, right?
Until now…
The fateful orientation at NRC occured. Leona awoke from his nap as he sensed a new warm sensation in his chest, as though his entire being was burning with excitement.
Leona knew it, the moment he saw you. He didn’t have to ask or second guess this primal instinct. The spark burst in his chest as the beastman watched you stumble about in this new world, his world. The beastly side within him roared within, finally meeting his fated partner.
Leona was…angry. He truly wouldn’t be happy at first. Leona was fine not having the bond after so long, but he has to accept that he does now? Not once did Leona feel the pull of a bond or even a spark of such a feeling as described by those lucky b*stards. Was he supposed to forget all about his feelings of frustration when he as a beastman couldn’t feel this so-called bond that was so natural to others.
What frustrated Leona more was that you weren’t a beastman, you weren’t even a person of this world. You probably never had to go through the bitterness as he did, seeing his brother and so many others find their fated mate so easily while he couldn’t even comprehend what that could feel like.
He knew it wasn’t in your control, but he wasn’t going to be alright with this convenient bullsh*t of a happy ending.
The lion ignored you, he wanted nothing to do with you. He fought against his very instincts because he refused to have expectations anymore. So what if you were his fated mate? It’s too much of a bother to take care of a clueless herbivore.
But alas, Leona sometimes couldn’t stop himself as he gave into his natural connection with you. Despite meddling in his schemes, he felt no hate towards you, even when he tried to. When you needed a place to stay after being kicked out from Ramshackles, he surprised even himself to let you stay in his room.
Sometimes he growls at you, but then keeps you close like a protective guard. Leona feigned indifferent to your attempts to befriend him, but just as those annoying beastmen b*stards said, he felt drawn to you as though his world became weightless with your presence.
This complicated story finally reached its crescendo when you couldn’t handle this confusing hot-and-cold game, breaking down in front of him.
“Do you hate me, Leona?”
You found Leona in his usual napping spot in the greenhouse, because of course he would be there. Sometimes, he would grumble and tell you to leave him in peace. But on rare occasions, the beastman would roll to his side as the two of you enjoy each other’s company, sometimes in silence, other rarer times bantering.
But that was the problem.
“I don’t know what to do,” you steeled your voice with all your might but the cracks in your tone exposed the raw frustration you were feeling. “Sometimes you treat me so well and I feel really safe with you, but then other times I feel like you resent my very existence!”
You felt it too. Since you came into this strange world, you’ve seen and experienced things you once thought inconceivable. It took a while but you will through your new life and you were actually having fun in this loony situation. Except, whenever you saw Leona...
“Some days, all I could think about is you.” You confessed in tears, embarrassment be damned. “I want to be around you, like I feel this pull to be by your side. I feel so happy when I’m with you, but it tears me apart whenever you act like you can’t stand me.”
To be rejected by your soulmate is akin to getting a part of your heart being crushed, that connection between the two of you is tearing at the seams and along with it, a piece of yourself. You were going insane as a part deep inside you was begging to stay with the stubborn beastman, but was all this pain really worth it?
“What can I do?” Do you let him go, or fix whatever is wrong with this relationship? You didn’t care what you had to do, you just wanted this pain to finally leave you. “Tell me, Leona. Anything”
But Leona didn’t say a word. His piercing green eyes just watched you, showing no hint of his thoughts. The only betrayal of his unreadable expression was the way his eyebrows furrow as he saw your tear-stricken face and your body shaking from pained rage.
The beastman’s body was still, before he sighed as he lost his internal fight with his primal instincts. His arm reached out to you, pulling your shaking body towards him as he forced you to lay under the shady tree, pushing your head that - to his annoyance - fit so perfectly under his chin, resting atop his shoulder.
“I’ll explain later. For now, sleep. You’re a mess” you wanted to hit him, argue whose fault it was for all this. But your body felt compelled to curl into this insufferable man’s warmth. His scent irritatingly eased your frustrations as his arm warped around you almost protectively, almost like you were something precious to him.
“You’re awful, Leona” you let out a last stab at the senior before surrendering to sleep. Leona smirked sardonically, not the least bit angered by your weak attempt at an insult, even without being overwhelmed by the feeling the sensation of satisfaction having his fated beloved finally in his arms.
“I am, huh?”

Special Agent Doctor
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
summary: a nice day out with your boyfriend gets interrupted
Today could not get more perfect. Your boyfriend had recently gotten home from a case and had been given a few days off to recuperate. You’d spent your morning cuddled together on the couch, each nursing your daily cup of coffee as you watched TV together. When lunch rolled around, neither of you felt like cooking and it was a beautiful day, so Spencer suggested walking to the local diner and then perhaps stopping by the book shop since you would be in the area.
So off you went, walking hand in hand down the sidewalk, basking in each other's company. As expected, lunch was delicious, and with full bellies you both headed to the bookstore you frequented. It was a quaint shop owned by a sweet woman named Mrs. Sherry who has come to know both you and Spencer by name. But alas, you should have known that no day could possibly be so perfect.
Spencer had wandered off to explore the biography section, leaving you to browse alone. You were attempting to grab a book just a bit too high on the shelf for you to reach when you felt someone press up behind you and pull the book from the shelf for you. With the book now in hand, you turned to thank who you thought was Spencer and were shocked to find your ex boyfriend. Your smile instantly dropped off your face and you thanked him curtly before trying to sidestep him to go find Spencer.
“No, wait!” he exclaimed, lightly gripping your elbow to prevent you from leaving. He cleared his throat awkwardly, not knowing what to say but also not wanting you to walk away. “Uh, you look good,” he starts. “How have you been?”
“Fine.”
“That's good, that's good. Listen, I’m free this Saturday. We should catch up.”
You were quick to decline his request, wanting nothing to do with the man who had cheated on you.
“Oh, come on, babe, I know you miss me,” he said with a grin, eyes raking up and down your figure. “I sure miss you.”
“Miss you? She doesn't so much as think of you.” came an irritated voice from a few feet behind you. Spencer had initially sought you out to show you a book he thought you’d be interested in, but instead found you cornered by some random man he’d never seen before. But it didn't take a genius to figure out what was going on, especially after hearing the snippet of conversation that he did.
“Who the fuck are you? Mind your business.” Said your ex to Spencer aggressively before directing his attention back to you. “Do you know this guy?” he asked, jerking his thumb towards Spencer.
This time, when you felt someone behind you you knew for sure it was Spencer. He’d wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest protectively.
“As a matter of fact I do. He’s my boyfriend.”
Spencer shot the man a smug grin, arms still secure around you.
Your ex laughed derisively as he looked at you in disbelief. “Boyfriend? This toothpick?”
Before you could defend him yourself, Spencer spoke up. “Is that so hard to believe?”
The other man eyed Spencer up and down with a look of scorn. “Yn likes a man that can protect her. You look like a slight breeze could blow you away. Now, me on the other hand,” he gave you a salacious smirk as he gestured to his admittedly chiseled physique.
Spencer frowned with distaste and furrowed his brows. “I can protect her just fine,” he said defensively.
“Says who?” your ex scoffed.
Fed up with the insufferable man, Spencer pulled out the credentials he keeps with him at all times, making sure to introduce himself with both of his titles. “Special agent Dr. Spencer Reid, FBI."

I lowkey kinda feel like writing smth for dr ratio but take this idea for now:
Revisited the 36 questions musical (music in it is so banger my god). Imagine you're one of dr. ratio's old classmates. An academic rival if you will. You part ways with him after high school. You could not imagine going to a university with him. You pity the poor students that do.
But he does come back into your life. You've seen him occasionally at your job. YOu do your best to ignore him, treat him like you would with any other colleague that you might have known. At an arm's length. You're not friends with any of them. You certainty would not treat him with more kindness than you would with any other person. Suffice to say, although petty, you had never gotten over how he was just always just barely a mark or two above you.
That was until you realized that the distance between you two was so great, that he was now your boss. You found out he was a professor in a university through the grapevine of your coworkers who can't stop swooning over him. You tried to ignore them, focus on your work, but today, they were loudly announcing that he was going to be the manager of your department. Strange, you think to yourself. He had never seemed to have an interest in your line of work. He had always been highly theoretical. You had turn to be highly practical. He was one meant for the sciences, while you could only surmount to doing practical application. You'd have imagined he would be doing things that were beyond what the mundane could comprehend. He shouldn't be here.
But he was.
WHILE being a professor at one of the top universities. Countless accomplishments, probably a wall full of certificates and awards. You had grown not to care about things like that. But it still felt that he was invading the one thing you were good at. Still though, you wouldn't let it bother you. In the worst case, you'd switch companies, maybe move somewhere else and he wouldn't be a problem anymore.
But Dr. Ratio seems to have different ideas. Management under his hand was very different. You were immidieately promoted to the highest rank, below manager. Much to your distaste, you had told him multiple times to promote one of your coworkers. They had much better qualifications for becoming a manager than you did. But alas, your protests always came to deaf ears.
Suddenly you were crushed by work, tons of pressure, and under his scrutiny. He was a big fan of doing big, risky projects. Ones that you'd always be responsible for if you failed. You'd try to politely deny his requests, but he'd insist, threatening that you'd be fired if you didn't pull through.
At one point you had just had enough.
You coldly place your resignation onto his desk. The box of your belongings was balanced between your hand and your knees.
"What is the meaning of this?"
"My resignation. I'm leaving." You say simply. "Don't try to convince me to stay. Working under you is simply not something I am suited for."
He seems uninterested. He raises an eyebrow at you. "Is that so? I was under the impression that you were doing quite well."
You didn't know whether you wanted to laugh or scream in that second. You were sure your hair was going to turn half-white before he picked up a goddamn clue. You suppose passing out three times and looking like you had your eyes punched wasn't a strong enough indicator.
"Ah... well... I'm flattered you think that way, but I really think it's time for me to move on...."
"And your plan after this is...?"
"Oh. Maybe work at someplace else." You lie, "I have a few options I can choose from, I'll probably end up working at one of those."
Dr. Ratio looks at your face, and then looks up and down. You stand there akwardly waiting for his approval to leave. You began counting down seconds. If he wasn't going to let you leave in the next two minutes, you'd walk out the door yourself.
"Why don't we sit down and talk first? Before you leave."
What? "Oh no sir.. it's fine... really..."
"It's been a few years since we've last seen each other and talked, hasn't it? I was wondering when you were going to approach me again. It's just a shame it's in this way."
He turns around and puts the sheet of paper into the shredder. You look back at him wide-eyed, debating on whether you would just walk straight out.
"Why don't you set your things aside? Maybe put them back on your desk? It's not like you'll be leaving soon. Unless you want to retire now?"
You open your mouth preparing to yell every curse word you can at him.
"Save your insults for later. Now tell me why you pretended not to recognize me for the past year I've worked here."

" It's gonna be alright, (name)- " She was kneeled beside your bleeding body in the snowy outskirts of Belobog. It had just been a short trip out and neither of you had expected to get attacked. You tried getting up as she forced you back to laying down. " Please, just lay down while we wait for the Silvermane Guards. " She had a sad look on her face as she spoke.
" I'll- " You coughed, making her flinch as she saw blood come out from your mouth. " I'll be- okay.. " Your breath was getting shallow as she helped you sit up to prevent you from choking on your own blood.
" Just rest, it'll be okay, yeah? They'll be here soon to take you to a doctor. " She assured, not wanting you to feel anxious or scared.
" You know.. " You started, looking over at her. " You really are a great girlfriend. " You gave a weak smile as you felt her squeeze your hand. She felt you go limp as she held you up, your hand no longer grabbing her own.
Tears pricked at her eyes as she stared at you, death had finally come to take you after you had bled out.
Your nose then scrunched up.
" Gross, what is that smell? " You opened your eyes, looking at Serval then back down at you. " Don't cry, I'm alive. " You smiled, her face was covered in disbelief.
" You- but you died? " She wiped a tear that was in her eye.
" Yeah but, I have two lives! Two! " You put up two fingers, much like a peace sign, and put it towards her. " I just used one so I have one more! " She sighed and hugged you tightly.
" ...Thank god. "

You found yourself being carried in the General's arms after you had been fatally wounded on a mission. You'd manage to get away even so, he feared you had little time left.
" I'm sure you will be alright, (name). " He looked down at you in his arms as he headed back towards the Luofu. " You must not worry. "
" Ah.. yeah, but it really hurts- Like really, really hurts. " You winced as you touched the wound on your abdomen.
" Refrain from touching it, I would not like for you to get an infection on top of such a fatal wound. " He had a stern yet caring look as he looked at you.
" Sorry, I just need to close my eyes for a bit.. " You felt your eyes fluttering closed as his eyes widened at you.
" (name), please try to keep your eyes open. We'll be th- " Your eyes had already closed, your body limp in his arms. Your weight now felt like dead weight as he stopped, looking down at your now lifeless form. " Ah.. " He needed to get you back as soon as he could, he shouldn't mourn you here.
You let out a sigh, your eyes opening once again.
" Sorry about that- Seems like I died though, huh? " You looked up at him. " I'm fine now, onwards! Back home! "
You heard him sigh as he started walking again. " You got me there. I truly believed you had died on me. It was not a pleasant feeling. I do have many questions for you alas, you should rest for now. "

" (name)! (name)! Don't fall asleep! " Yanqing sat beside you has you held your side. He had called for back up and a doctor but refused to leave you alone when you were like this. " You gotta stay awake, okay?! " His voice betrayed him as he talked to you, sadness was evident in it.
" Alright, alright.. I'm trying, " You let out a laugh. " I'll be fine, don't worry, okay? Just a little stab wound isn't going to get me. " You squeezed his hand gently.
" Just- stay awake! " He held your hand close to his chest as he looked at you. " You just gotta! " You gave a nod back as his eyes became glassy.
" Don't cry, Yanqing- " You coughed, going limp for a minute. Yanqings eyes started to water as he gently shook you.
" (name)?! " You let out a shaky breath a moment later, tears had started to come out of his eyes. He hugged you tightly.
" Yanqing! Not so tight! " You patted his back, signaling for him to loosen his grip.
" I'm just- just super happy you're okay! " He wiped the tears from his eyes. " Don't fall asleep again, okay? I'm going to stay right here and make sure you don't! "

New beginning:
Yandere husband x wife reader x platonic son.
————————-
Moving to a new city can be a difficult experience. A new house, a new school, new friends and unfamiliar surroundings. Especially hard can it be if you're forced to bring undesired company. That was the case for Andrew. The new house was built very recently, with a modern interior and tall windows and a supplemental garden filled with beautiful vegetation. Many would say he was lucky to live in such a house, but he much preferred his old home. He only felt dread when the car rolled up in the driveway, sealing his fate. Andrew sensed a comforting hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see his mother send him a gentle smile.
"We're here, come on let's check out the place."
The boy thanked the heavens for his mother, she was the only one with the ability to cheer him up. What would he do without her? He beamed and stepped out of the vehicle. (Y/n) grabbed her sons' hand and pulled him along to admire the flowerbeds planted in front of the house. There were a considerable amount of carnations, dahlias and marigolds. It reminded the boy about all those times when he and his small family went out to the park, all those years ago. When his father was still alive. He really missed those times, times when his sweet mother wasn't with that asshole. When that thing didn't exist. Before his spiteful mood strayed too far, a familiar voice interrupted them. For Andrew it was like hearing nails on a chalkboard.
"Hey, you coming?" A young man in his early thirties came out of the house. In his arms slept a baby.
"Yes we'll be there shortly. Just have to carry these boxes inside first."
"Want me to help?" Her husband asked and slightly tilted his head to the side.
"No, I'll be fine."
(Y/n) proceeded to unload the boxes from the trunk, and placed them on the ground. Andrew wanted to help her but struggled with the weight of the boxes. He tried renewing his grip, but it did not prevent the cardboard from slipping. The young boy was already annoyed, which didn't alleviate when the person he hated most only added fuel to the fire.
"Need help with that, kid?" His step-father stopped right by his side and glanced down at him. Andrew frowned and spat fiercely at him.
"Why would I need help from the likes of you?"
"Andrew! Apologise to Evan right now." His mother scolded him.
"Nah it’s fine, honey."
"But-"
"Let's just start unpack these boxes and have dinner after. Sounds good?" (Y/n) reluctantly nodded and went into the house.
Evan turned back to face Andrew. It might have been the lighting, but Andrew could have sworn there was malice behind those blue eyes.
Andrews' new room was spacious with a balcony, giving a pleasant view on the garden. Despite it being the bigger than his former room, it did not coach him into liking his current home any more.
Why did they have to move? He liked his old home, old school where all his friends were. Now he's forced to start over and with them still here. Andrew would have been fine with it if it was just him and his mom, alas it seems like you can't have everything.
He laid down on the floor, staring up in the ceiling. He thought about when his father died. He remembers hating hearing his mom cry herself to sleep every night.
Many came to the funeral, all his aunts, uncles, cousins along with family friends. They all cried except him.
He was in shock they say. He wasn't sure himself, all he knew was that he felt numb. Like it wasn't real, but it was. Afterward it was just him and his mom. They went about their lives as normal, although they were much closer than before-if possible.
He's a certified mamas boy, all right.
He couldn't imagine a life without her. Andrew felt so happy when she played with him, cuddled with him, read to him before putting him to sleep every night. Now however, they don't get to do those things as much.
It's that Evan and their new baby. It's always crying. Always hungry.
Always there. Always demanding attention.
How he detested that thing. Because of it his mother never got time for him.
They used to play all the time but now her full concentration was constantly on the baby. Sometimes, he is even tasked with keeping watch on him. It things like 'can you keep an eye on your brother a second, so I can bring in the groceries?'- or - 'Why don't you try holding your little brother for a bit?'.
All of his relatives fawn over his younger half-brother.
Treating him like a miracle. When voicing his complains, the only responses he get is that he should stop acting so childish and that he'll eventually come to adore Eli. His aunt once said to him.
'Better not say these thing to your mommy, or she will get really sad. No mother want her children to hate each other.'
Fearing to hurt his mom, he never told her of his resentment. Andrew blinked and sat up inspecting all the boxes. Some stacked on top of each other, building a tower.
'I better get to work or I'll be done next year.'
A few weeks after they first arrive, the family had settled in nicely. Most had been unpacked but there were some moving boxes sitting somewhere.
The neighbours greeted them the second day in town. They came over with a new baked blueberry pie. Awfully friendly people one might say.
Their former neighbours didn't as much look at them, let alone bring them pastry's. Apparently they were swedes.
In the evenings the sun shone inside the house and brought a lovely golden hue. You could just relax in the glow, close your eyes and drift off. Something Andrew decided to do a lot. He especially needed it after an annoying day in school. The boy always told his mother the academy had great teachers and his classmates were so friendly. He would make so many friends in the future! But the truth was that the school had 'okay' teachers, and only some of his classmates were friendly. Not many wanted to give him time of the day actually, being the new word kid and all. Andrew had friends in his former school but they were few in between.
'Not everyone could keep up with him', he liked to imagine. For he was indeed the smartest boy in his grade and since it made his mother very happy, he did everything to keep the title.
During the afternoons, the sun shine inside covering the entire house in a golden hue. Lazing around in the living room just reading or thinking deeply was wonderful then. Mixed with the afternoon glow, it gave the feeling of peace and calmness. It was one of the finest hours spent his new home.
In the course of one of such afternoons, (Y/n) was currently working away on her laptop. Andrew entered and smiled when  spotting his dear mother. In his hands resided a orange ball waiting to be tossed around.
"Hey, mom?"
(Y/n) turned her gaze up to see her oldest son staring expectantly at her. She hummed lovingly in response.
"Yes, honey? What is it?"
"Can you play with me, I've been bored all day?" He pleaded.
"I'm a bit busy right now though..."
the woman hated turning down her child. Especially since he knew very well when to bring out the 'puppy eyes'. She glanced around the room and as she watched her youngest play in the carpet, she got an idea. (Y/n) suggested that he play with Eli to cure his boredom.
"Why don't you play with Eli? Im sure he would love to be with his brother."
On cue, the small child peered up at them. He made happy gurgling noises when he noticed his big brother. After all, he didn't see much of Andrew at home. He was always busy doing homework or playing by himself. Being reminded of the baby, Andrew felt himself withdrawal with repulsion. No way was he going to play with him. Evan had already been enough of a bother, but then suddenly had his mother fallen pregnant and next thing he knew, that thing had plopped out. He recalls when his mother told him the news. She was ecstatic and so was Evan. After their wedding they had already planned to move-one of the reasons being work- and now they had another reason to start fresh.
Somewhere new, somewhere where no one knew them, somewhere with no memories of the past.
Despite wanting nothing more than (Y/n) to be happy, he couldn't find any joy himself in the news. He would have a sibling now? He wouldn't be the only child? He would have someone to play with now, he guessed. But it wasn't really that important since he was more of a studious kid. Andrew's thoughts ran wild, there was one thought that stood out however.
Now he would be forced to share his mom.
Andrew didn't want that! What is she liked the new baby better than him? That wouldn't do. The boy was horribly afraid you'd prefer your baby over him and you'd just toss him aside. Throwing out his stuff and maybe make him live with his grandparents. It was a nightmare he had many times afterwards. The fear of abandonment gnawed at him like a rat.
(Y/n) watched as the light in her son's eyes vanished into nothingness. He obviously wasn't satisfied with her reply. On one hand she really would like to play with Andrew, but on the other hand she also really needed to finish her work. Panicked she tried to come up with another solution and as her knight in shining armour, Evan came to her rescue.
He must have listened to their conversation and decided to step up.
"Hey kid, wanna play with me instead? ”
Andrew deliberately scrutinised Evan with a cold look. He then proceeded to firmly shake his head and say
"No, not you."
"Andrew, don't say that. Evan is a part of this family." His mother's voice sounded. But her son only turned to look her in the eyes with a somewhat sad and anxious expression, which followed by him rushing outside.
"Andrew wait!"
But he was already too far out of reach to hears his mothers pleas. (Y/n) sighed defeatedly and pitched the bridge of her nose. Evan attempted to comfort his wife by saying he'll talk to Andrew and that they'll both come to a mutual understanding about respect, before running out the back door after Andrew.
The mother didn't have a clue to what she did for thing to end up like this. Sure, she had a feeling Andrew wasn't the biggest fan of Evan but she kinda hoped that would disappear over time. Maybe she was a bad mom for dating someone her child didn't have the most loving opinion of, but did she not deserve some happiness as well?
When Andrew's father died, she was heartbroken. Who wouldn't be when the love of your life and father of your child suddenly passes away? When she finally decided to get out there and start dating again, she noticed her dates would abruptly draw back. Like they would meet up and then her date just didn't appear interested anymore, even though they seemed to click.
Maybe the bearings of already having a child just wasn't appealing? Because when she introcued Andrew to them, was around the same time when they messaged they'd like to stop pursuing the relationship. She could understand how they felt though. So she didn't blame them for anything. She was just sad that's all. Sad that she might never find that happiness again. Until she met him.
Evan was the only one who decided to stay. Despite her son's snarky comments and glares from the opposite side of the table. (Y/n) felt forever grateful for all the things he did for her. For loving her so dearly. For never forgetting a special day, like birthdays and anniversaries. For making her so incredibly happy while going down on one knee. As well as giving her a second beautiful son who she'd love with all her heart.
Speaking of, that little bundle of joy stretched his arms out trying to reach for his mother. (Y/n) chuckled and went to pick him up and held him fondly while smothering his forehead with kisses.
"You're my little angel, Eli."
Under a tree sat a young boy sulking by himself. He was upset, very upset. His mother chose someone else over him. Okay, he knew it wasn't really like that but it still felt like it. She had chosen a scum over him. Her own son! He didn't deserve the love his mom gave. Not when the one who actually deserved it was Andrew.
He had been successful in preventing a relationship every time his mother had met someone. Every time! But not Evan. He didn't let Andrew scare him in the slightest. Not his death glares. Not his degrading comments. Not even the mean pranks. In fact, Evan didn't as much as flinch when he found a dead rat in his shoe, nor when he found out the eggs Andrew so happily made him were way outdated. Nothing ever seemed to phase him. That wasn't the only thing about him.
Evan was also...weird. Very weird.
Before they moved the their new home, Andrew would sometimes hear strange noise outside at night. It was when Evan slept over at their house. He basically lived there, even though he had his own apartment. So when the boy woke up during those nights and listened to where the sound came from, he took a look outside.
There in the garden had he spotted a tall silhouette. Andrew had quickly backed away from the window when the shadow had looked up towards his window. He was lucky he tought, because it appeared that the figure did not see him. The boy had then continued to observe the shadow. It seemed like it was digging. But why was a stranger digging in his backyard in the middle of the night? Imagine his surprise when he saw the moon's shine lit up a portion of the strangers face. It was only for a second, and he didn't know the person well at all. But there was no mistake. The 'stranger' in his backyard was none other than Evan. You also can't forget the strange sounds coming from the basement. Evan was the only one who went down there, he allegedly used it as his study. His mother wouldn't know anything since she didn't have a reason to go down there and if she needed something Evan would be the first to volunteer.
Lost in thought he almost didn't notice that said person was currently approaching him. Andrew scowled at his step-father and averted his sights to the grass beneath him. A pair of black shoes soon replaced his vision.
"Hey, Andrew." Evan began.
"......."
"I know that we might not get along well but can you at least try? For you mom?" The man asked in a hopeful tone but received no answer. He prepared to repeat himself again, but was surprised at the high pitched voice that suddenly murmured something imperceptible.
"I can't hear you, what did you say?"
Evan leaned in closer with the intention of catching the boy's muffled words.
"Fuck you.." Andrew glared at him.
The man's eyes widened. He wouldn't have guessed this is what the boy was trying to say. Nasty criticism was nothing new from Andrew. But never had he sworn at him. Only things like; where he came from and what he ate to his fashion choice. Evan's expression converted into a perilous smile.
"That's not nice little Andy." He said.
"Don't call me that!" The lad swung his scrawny arm at the older man, but it was easily caught in a tight grip. Andrew froze as he stared into two malicious orbs.
"I will call you whatever I want because I'm the adult here. Listen; I don't like you and I know you don't like me either, but you will do as I say. Because if you don't- well we already have a replacement for you." The man smirked while he watched as Andrew's face distort.
"I also don't want (Y/n) to be unhappy. She wants this new life to go well and your little antics keeps making her sad, and I doubt you want to cause your mother pain. So you will stop your pathetic tantrums and be a good boy from now on, okay?"
Evan released his grip on Andrew's arm and stood up. He began waking back towards the house, but not before turning around and saying.
"Be nice to your daddy from now on."
Andrew caressed his sore arm and winced. He could already feel a bruise forming. Guess he would have to borrow some makeup from mom's bag to cover it up. Looking through the window he could clearly see his mother and step-father conversing happily; like the previous three minutes didn't happen.
Just like he said.
Weird
God how he hated that little brat! If he could just get rid of him, then everything would be alright. It would be absolutely perfect with only the three of them as a family.
Evan Carter was no ordinary man. He can't even begin to count how many immoral acts he's committed. Assault, robbery, blackmail, murder.
But that was not all. He realised from a young age that he was different. Many times did he witness the emotions of people around him, the good ones and the negative ones. But not a single emotion could he relate to.
When he tripped and fell as a young boy, he simply stood up again, shedding no tears.
When his middle school soccer team won his towns annual sports tournament, Evan did not understand the length of his teammates joy.
Don't get him wrong he can feel things, although his feeling weren't as prominent or strong like others. Further, when he was in high school and all the other kids started to focus on finding partners, the boy could care less about it. It continued that way even when he wasn’t a young boy anymore and time had carried him into the life of adulthood.
Until he met her.
(Y/n) was his light. They’d met three years ago at a party hosted by a mutual friend. She had been so beautiful that night. With her rosy cheeks and enchanting eyes. She had him trapped the moment they shook hands. Evan wanted to punch himself for thinking he could make it alone in this world. Before her, the domestic lifestyle appeared pointless; Now it was all he wished for.
The day they of their wedding was the best day of his life. Everything went splendidly and the decision to move to a new city had just been finalised. Seeing his wife pregnant with his child made him so happy. Evan loved his wife and son so, so, so much!
Their new life would be amazing if it wasn't for one time detail. His wife's son from her previous relationship.
How awful that brat was.
Always insulting him and being rude, even though he hadn't done anything to deserve it. It was quite obvious he was trying to scare him away. But Evan was not like those other shallow men Andrew had succeeded in frightening. No, he was there to stay.
Evan knew his temper would soon hit breaking point. Still, he didn't desire to kill the boy. Not yet at least. He saw how much (Y/n) loved him and knew how heartbroken she would be if he died. She was unknowingly the only reason he was still alive.
But perhaps in the future, who knows? A small accident may occur.

One of my favorite things about the Tori/Itachi fake->real relationship arc is the reactions you've mentioned for everyone else. Deidara particularly who is just constantly suffering from whatever random thing Itachi has done this week.
deidara would never have been able to predict this development, but now that it's happening it seems like he should have. he should have sat down and gone "what is the worst thing my teammates could do to me?" and then reverse engineer this. alas, he didn't, and somehow he got convinced to take their engagement photos?
anyway the rest of this post is about shisui. im haven't developed his relationship with tori uch so this is still rotating/could change
so in this au shisui loves itachi dearly and vice versa, but also shisui is acutely aware that itachi is a weird paranoid little freak. he does not know he's a time traveler. he does know itachi was very upset for years that danzo would Ruin Everything, especially sasuke somehow and also konoha, and then danzo suddenly died under mysterious circumstances. shisui has his suspicions about what happened but he is keeping his mouth SHUT
(shisui agreed danzo is Shady but minato has more of a leash on him than hiruzen, so shisui never felt the danger was like.... real?)
anyway tori and shisui just like... don't really get along. but by the time the whole danzo incident is resolved, tori is really firmly itachi's close friend. they can't avoid each other. awkward smiles all around.
so when itachi is like "i'm going to try and date tori," shisui isn't, like, surprised? but also his advice is "if you date her just to be dating someone, and not because you actually like her, you'll risk ruining your friendship and you only have like three friends." it doesn't occur to him that tori isn't in on the relationship
but then shisui goes to like their book club or something and sees them actually interacting, and he immediately realizes his mistake, which was assuming itachi isn't a catastrophic moron. so he's like "oh NO little cousin" and assumes that eventually tori will kill him. RIP, itachi, you did this to yourself
and then she doesn't kill him, and shisui feels an intense wave of fear wash over him. he's like 82% sure she helped/enabled him to kill Major Village Leader Danzo. tori doesn't even blink when itachi randomly genjust-brainwashes people. he has never once questioned the multitude of insane claims she makes. they can't go forward like this. people WILL suffer
at the same time mikoto comes to shisui like WHY HASN'T ONE OF THEM CALLED IT OFF YET?" because she KNOWS itachi is only dating her to make mikoto stop throwing girls at him, and she doesn't dislike tori but she doesn't really like her either, and also SHE wants to pick her daughter-in-law even though she promised itachi she'd back off if he found someone himself. help her.
and listen. shisui doesn't like tori, he doesn't think this weird relationship move is a good idea, he DEFINITELY doesn't think she'll ever agree to marry into the family, but also he is itachi's brother. his ride or die.
shisui is forced to look mikoto in the eyes and be like, "idk, auntie, i think they're really, truly in love"
then they ACTUALLY get engaged and shisui has another wave of intense fear like no other
shisui: okay, but you DO understand that she'd BE AN UCHIHA, right? and have actual power over the clan?
itachi: it's fine tori thrives in toxic environments
shisui: you are talking about our FAMILY

YOU LONGED FOR summer’s embrace, and the warm reprieve from the demands of school, yet you are afraid of what it might bring. the longer you try to savor the last of your sixth year, and dream of the carefree hours under never-ending sunlight soon within your grasp, the harder it becomes to ignore the continuously grim headlines of the daily prophet presented at the breakfast table every morning. even amidst your friends’ laughter, the looming shadow of anti-muggle-born propaganda pushed forward by unseen hands propels them to dissect and debate on almost molecular levels, each point characterized by a bite or a clang of a fork.
the end of your sixth year brings unshakeable exhaustion as constant vigilance weaves itself into everyday life within the ancient walls of the castle, adding to the suddenly rigorous course load attempting to prepare your year for their upcoming n.e.w.t.s. hogwarts, once a haven, now demanded a watchful eye on every staircase and dark corridor, as the hallways echoed with ghostly rumors and whispers found their homes on the staircases.
“mare, stop tryna murder slughorn with your eyes; he might catch on,” you hissed at mary under your breath, elbowing her discreetly, as you try to appear focused on slughorn’s lesson.
“maybe he’ll learn his lesson and stop splitting us up,” mary responded resolutely, never once breaking eye contact with the balding pudgy man who, in a horribly clichéd fit of inspiration, had begun assigning partners to brew amortentia in the double-potions period you had been blessed with today.
the somewhat impulsive decision of “james potter and lily evans” had you and mary turning to each other, eyebrows raised as you wondered quite how thick slughorn could be. in general, no one knew what was going on between james and lily. at this point, you surmised neither did they. they had had odd bouts of camaraderie, quickly replaced with civil hostility, resulting in a continuous loop of poorly disguised affection or hatred, like a roulette wheel deciding which lily and james to match up each day.
you prayed to merlin, hoping whatever disastrous infliction that had befallen slughorn for him to pair james with lily would not contagiously affect his decision for you, and that slughorn would come to his senses and let you spend the amortentia lesson with your sanity intact. alas, merlin had no such qualms about leaving you to fend for yourself as the anticipation you felt when slughorn called your name quickly soured to horror when he followed it up with none other than “sirius black”.
despite the number of mutual friends shared—after your friend groups warmed up to each other this year—the two of you had never gotten along. you’ve since chalked it up to his propensity for being aggravating without rhyme or reason, seemingly driven by an inherent desire to extract reactions. his words, laced with a mirth hard to ignore, are like finely crafted spells designed to unravel your patience. the rest of the school’s population are able to dismiss him, but your inability to ignore him has become something of an enigma.
feeling sirius’s presence next to you, without turning to face him, you asked, crossing your arms over your chest, “am i gonna have to remain vigil over our cauldron in case it blows up the minute my back is turned?”
“as flattering as it is to hear you admit that you’ve been watching me over the years—” here, you let out a derisive snort, causing sirius to pause, and raise his eyebrows at you in challenge, “when have you seen me jinx my own cauldron?” he continued, a smirk tugging at his lips as he loosened his tie even further.
you groaned, finally making eye contact with him, unsurprised to see that all-too-familiar glint in his grey eyes, “can we please just get this over with already?”
in your six shared years of schooling, you have always distantly conceded him to be handsome, his features falling into the realm of casual observance amidst the whirlwind of classes, and quidditch matches. yet, the way he stares down at you in this moment stirs something within you, the unfamiliar fluttering awakening a newfound awareness.
his locks of black hair fall delicately in his eyes, as if afraid to obstruct your view. the silver gleam of his piercings catch the glow of the potions bubbling around you, an intricate constellation along the curve of his ears—a bold declaration of his rebelliousness. the smile tugging at the corners of his lips is enigmatic, as if he’s aware that he’s just shifted something fundamental between you.
“aren’t you moving a little too fast?” sirius continued when you turned to him confused, “take me out to dinner first.”
you glared at him as understanding dawned on you, “i’m literally going to murder you if you don’t shut up, i swear to merlin.”
“aren’t you kinky?”
you spin around, pointing your wand at his jugular, watching his adam’s apple bob up then down as he threw his hands up in surrender, an easy-going grin gracing his features, “woah there, guess i touched a nerve, huh?”
you know he’s baiting you, you know his talent for finding weaknesses and exploiting them all too well, but you can’t help yourself when it comes to him, falling into the trap carefully set out for you, biting out a retort before you’re aware of it, “you won’t have any nerves left when i’m done with you.”
sirius grins, no—bares his teeth at you, wolfishly, and suddenly you understand all of james’s dog-related jokes over the years.
the two of you remain uncharacteristically quiet for the remainder of the potion, you’re surprised by sirius’s begrudging help, and soon enough, you’re sliding the last ingredient in.
the potion looks right to you, with the mother-of-pearl sheen slughorn gushed about for all of the class period, but you can’t tell because your senses were invaded by the distinct smell of cologne causing you to wrinkle your nose as you eyed sirius apprehensively.
he seemed to be having the same predicament as you currently, perfect brows furrowed in thought as his eyes glance over the potion.
“i can’t tell if we did it right,” you venture.
“me neither,” he shrugs, “all i can smell is your perfume—by the way, did you have to use the whole bottle?”
“i could say the same for you—the room reeks of your cologne, asshole.”
“more like your perfume—”
“i literally ran out this morning—”
“because you dumped the whole bottle on yourself?”
“literally pot calling the kettle black—”
“i am a black—”
“i literally hate you so much—”
a sharp, disapproving cough splits the two of you apart, not only had your argument grown embarrassingly loud in its procession, but it had also orchestrated a gravitational pull between the two of you. the result had been proximity that bordered on the intimate, your personal space evaporating until you were mere inches apart. the ignominy of being publicly seen at sirius black’s throat was nothing compared to the humiliation that followed after slughorn’s unexpected interruption.
slughorn’s rotund figure regards the two of you with a mixture of curiosity and mild exasperation, his mustache twitching slightly in rhythm with the exaggerated rise and fall of his breath, “my dears,” he begins, his tone a blend of genuine concern and theatrical flair, “what seems to be the problem? your potion appears to be brewed successfully, i can see the characteristic smoke spirals, and the mother-of-sheen pearl.”
flushed with embarrassment that seems to spread through you like a fever, you mumble your response lowly, “sorry, professor, but we couldn’t tell because of external factors.”
the air in the room seems to thicken as the collective gaze of your classmates turns toward the two of you, their eyes capturing the awkwardness with an unabashed curiosity that makes you wish you could use a time-turner to escape this particular moment of public humiliation.
slughorn’s hearty laughter fills the room like a boisterous charm, “oho, i see the problem now, my dear,” he addresses you, his eyes crinkling with amusement, “tell me, what do you smell in the amortentia?”
his words hang in the air, and the room's atmosphere has shifted from tense to expectant.
confused, you play with the hem of your skirt as you wonder the relevancy of his question, your gaze flickering uncertainly, tracing patterns in the stone floor as you respond, “um, cologne, leather, and brownies, professor.”
the room, for a moment, becomes a canvas of uncomfortable silence, and you're resolutely avoiding making eye contact with anyone else in the room.
satisfied with your response, slughorn pivots his attention to sirius, a gleam of intrigue dancing in his eyes, "now you, my boy," he encourages, his voice a velvet stroke, "go on, tell us what you smell."
a twist of surprise clenches within you as you expect sirius to brush off the request, to summon a sarcastic remark as his defense. yet, to your astonishment, he complies, his fingers raking through his hair, “perfume, shampoo, and petrol, professor."
slughorn nods sagely, his lips curving into a satisfied grin that crinkles the corners of his eyes. he claps his hands together once, the sound a punctuation to his assessment. the atmosphere in the room has shifted from suspenseful to charged, every student suspended in the tension of his next words.
"my dears," he addresses the class with the air of a professor on the brink of a profound lesson, "you smell each other in the amortentia, that is your problem."
the previously stifling silence is breached as the dungeon is painted with a symphony of snickers. the air seems to vibrate with laughter, and there's even a bold wolf whistle, which you're almost certain is courtesy of james. yet, amidst this collective amusement, all you can feel is disconcertment, the weight of attention heavy upon you.
as if merlin himself takes pity on your predicament, slughorn's laughter ripples through the room, warm and infectious, as he claps his hands together again, “my young scholars, it's time for practicality. bottle your amortentia, label it, and kindly leave it on my desk before making your exit."
with that, your hasty exit from the dungeon turns into a veritable escape, as you shoulder your bag against your side. every nerve in your body screams for invisibility, to become nothing more than a background figure. however, as you weave your way through the corridors, hoping to dissolve into the anonymity of the crowd, you're struck by sirius black’s unwavering dedication in trailing behind you despite each step you take further into the deepening throng of students.
just before you can approach the fat lady’s portrait, a hand closes on your elbow and a startled gasp escapes you as you are abruptly yanked into a hidden alcove, your heartbeat thundering in your ears. your eyes adjust to the sudden darkness, but before you can react, a large hand firmly pressed against your mouth, thick silver rings digging uncomfortably against your lips. glaring at your kidnapper, you folded your arms across your chest.
acutely aware of the proximity, of the scent of cologne now much fainter than in the dungeons, you wait with a mixture of frustation and curiosity. sirius leans as far back as the alcove will let him, which is not much, but at least he’s no longer lurking over you like a predator staring down its prey.
“the fuck do you want?” you could care less if you smelled him or if he smelled you in the amortentia, because as far as you’re concerned, the two of you can continue to dance around each other in the way you have perfected over the years. in your delicate ballet, he is the master of light-hearted jests flickering like fireflies in the summer dusk, and you are the recipient of his playful pranks and ceaseless banter, carrying an unspoken agreement, holding onto the game you both secretly treasured.
its predictability is comforting, the way his remarks are as reliable as the rising sun, and your laughter feels like a shared secret between only the two of you. the amortentia's revelations feel like an unnecessary intrusion, an attempt to place confusing labels on your little game.
“go out with me,” sirius levels a roguish grin at you, his grey eyes dance with the mischief you are so accustomed to seeing.
all you want is to say yes, to revel in stolen glances, the exhilaration of shared laughter, the brushing of your fingers together, and strolling carefree across the castle grounds, but your world isn’t one satisfied by teen romances. it’s one where every word and connection is scrutinized under the weight of a society where love and friendship are tainted by its fixation on blood status.
you cannot bring yourself to look into his eyes, twinkling with genuine interest, feeling a pang of bitterness as you consider the reality of your world. to say yes would be to risk both your safety and that of your friends, and who knows if the ensuing conflict would leave either of you unscathed.
“i can’t,” you still cannot bring yourself to look him in the eye as you deliver this unseen rejection with a bittersweet smile, torn between longing for normalcy and the harsh lessons you’ve learned with every picture and name added to the growing list of victims.
“why not?” sirius asks, confusion coloring his features, as he searches your gaze, attempting to make eye contact.
you don’t know how to explain without seeming as if you’re getting ahead of yourself, thinking of the distant future, but you try anyway, wringing your hands together, “we don’t know what’ll happen in a year or two, sirius. we don’t even know if we’ll be alive after we graduate.”
his hands cradle your chin, forcing you to look him in the eye, the cool press of his metal rings against your burning skin is soothing, “i’m asking for right now,” he continues, softly, gentler than you have ever known him, his gaze holding yours in quiet intensity, “for you to live for yourself—”
the uncertain future shapes into one of possibility, and so, without conscious thought, you surge forward to kiss him, clumsier than you would have liked, and messier than you have ever known, but it feels right.
“so, that’s a yes for hogsmeade this weekend?”

Hi, I really like your Spirit Hunter Headcanons! I saw you wrote one for NG with the guys reacting to reader getting hurt. Is it alright if I request a version of that but with the Death Mark characters?
I've got you~ And I'm very happy to see more Death Mark/NG requests <3
・┆✦ʚ Mashita Satoru ɞ✦ ┆・
Tumblr media
🚬 One would think Satoru is the most apathetic of the bunch, but in reality, his sense of justice and moral compass are still up there.
🚬 At his core, he will always be a policeman, and any wrong-doing will anger him internally.
🚬 He has lost everything during the Honey Bee Cult case, when his mentor was killed, and he got so close to the truth that he was kicked out of the police force under sexual harassment allegations, and his credibility and job opportunities were denied.
🚬 In spite of all this, he found a friend in Yashiki, and he treasured you more than anything in life.
🚬 You were there for him through all the hardships he went through, and he is infinitely grateful for your endless support and love.
🚬 That is why I say, when he finds out you've been cursed, he is devastated, as though the sky fell on him.
🚬 He found you on the ground in the forest while he and Yashiki were searching around for Shimi-O.
🚬 He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw you - He left you at home, why were you here? He couldn't be hallucinating, could he? So what is going on?
🚬 What's worse, not only did the Death Mark flash brightly on the soft neck of your skin, as if to taunt and mock him, but your clothes had subtle tears - But what is worse, they were bleeding.
🚬 He's not one to panic quickly under pressure, but you can bet Mashita is livid.
🚬 If it weren't for Yashiki calming him down and suggesting to get you back home to Mary and have Christie look after you, while the two of them purify the ghost and make sure everyone is fine.
🚬 Satoru held you dearly in his arms all the way back to the Manor, his grip a little too tight - He was afraid, deathly afraid, but not for himself, but for you.
🚬 He'd never forgive himself if he allowed you to die, when your life was in his hands like that.
🚬 What kind of reliable policeman would he be? His mentor would be disappointed if he failed you and himself like that.
🚬 He placed you comfortably on the bed he slept on while Yashiki told Christie not to tell you anything about the Mark; There was no need to worry you for no reason, especially as the scar was in a place you couldn't notice easily.
🚬 Though he knew he had to worry, Mashita lingered for a few minutes more - He couldn't stop looking at you, he felt weak, he blamed himself for dragging you into all of this, especially as the only reason you got cursed was that he forgot his gun at home.
🚬 Not only was it incredibly irresponsible of him, but he also willingly got himself in this mess, in hopes of unveiling the truth behind his mentor's death.
🚬 After tucking you in bed, Satoru kissed your forehead and took one last look at you, before pushing himself off the bed and quickly leaving the room, before he'd feel tempted to just get next to you and hold onto you until Yashiki solves the issue by himself.
🚬 He was much quieter and snarkier with Yashiki, even he was well aware he was much more of a menace than usual, alas there was nothing he could do about it.
🚬 Your well-being was above anything else, for him.
🚬 His rage, complimented by the extreme memory loss caused by Shimi-O, made for quite a weird iteration of Mashita, but regardless, with a simple slap, he was capable of helping Yashiki to purify the ghost.
🚬 Though Kazuo himself wasn't rid of the curse, you and Mashita, along with Shou, were able to return home with no more issue.
🚬 You didn't know why exactly your boyfriend was so clingy and mellow, but you didn't mind it one bit. It was a lovely change of pace, for the otherwise teasy man.
🚬 It would take a few days before he confesses to you the truth of what happened that night - And more than that, he thanks you dearly for compromising your life to bring him the gun, as without it, he and Yashiki wouldn't have been able to defeat the ghost.
🚬 He'd get very annoyed if you got smug with him for being so tender - But he'll get over it fast, don't worry - You just need to bat your pretty lashes at him and kiss him like there's no tomorrow.
🚬 He won't necessarily get overprotective after this encounter, but he will take all proper precautions going further into his and Yashiki's little 'Ghost Hunting Business'.
🚬 He might be reticent to you joining them for field work, but he'd be more than happy if you were to help with intel. You're safe, and he's reassured. Perfect!

Tumblr media
🩺 By the time Daimon gets cursed, he's already 44 years of age and chronically single and ill, so he resigns himself to the idea he will remain forever married to his work and succumb to loneliness and sickness.
🩺 When he gets cursed, however, he finds a new will to live - It's the human's natural response to danger, right? Fight or flight - Or at least, that's how he rationalises it.
🩺Not only that though, but also, his morbid curiosity with his grandfather's work in the Engineering Lab during WW2 and whatever atrocities happened down in the bunker hidden in the sewers of the city.
🩺That - And he's always been impressed by the supernatural, and now, he gets to experience it first hand - If only it wasn't life threatening, it would be much more enjoyable.
🩺It was here that Yashiki introduced him to a scientist women called Hiroo Madoka, whose grandfather was also involved in similar work to his own family... Though she's rather annoying to deal with, and thankfully, in spite of his kind demeanour, Yashiki is also of the same idea about her.
🩺But there was one more - He met you - Someone closer in age to him, who's professionally accomplished and so very beautiful; Not only beautiful, but so very and sweet, while also being effortlessly confident and radiating an aura of reassurance like the Sun.
🩺He couldn't help but feel attracted to you like a month to the light, caring little about getting burnt in the process, like the fool Icarus, flying towards the Sun with his waxed wings.
🩺How could he not gravitate around you, when you made him feel revitalised, no more the zombie of a man he accepted to being for so long.
🩺You worried for his health, told him to take better care of himself, even threw an off-comment about cooking him a nice soup and cutting up a fruit salad so he'd get more energy.
🩺Daimon was flabbergast - Did he truly deserve any of this? He knows he's not the most amicable person alive, yet you don't seem to be offended or intimidated by his coldness.
🩺During the whole investigation, you are the reason he stays sane and has hope for the future - A future with you.
🩺You weren't overly assertive, yet through your kindness and positivity, you made your intentions clear; He loved just how well the two of you understood each other, without the need of words.
🩺He was absolutely mesmerised by everything you did.
🩺From the time when you braved through the hypothermia and drove him back home - Only to see that the heating and water were being closed for the week because of reparations - So you invited him to sleep over at your home because it's extra warm.
🩺And how you nonchalantly told him you have a single bedroom, so you'd have to sleep together - All that, while he was suffering a bad case of tachycardia and his face had a feverish colour from too much emotion felt all together - But you? You were so nonchalant about it, wearing your pretty lingerie pyjamas, leaning on the heater and drinking a little alcohol to warm up, and inviting him to do the same.
🩺In those few days he got so used to living with you, that he almost felt disappointed when the day of the encounter came by and you got rid of the curse and had to part ways.
🩺He was there to watch you take the Suzu Bells and step up, confronting the Kannon Soldier all by yourself - He didn't know whatever Shinto or Buddhist mantras you chanted there, but by the time you started yelling at the ghost in Chinese, and ended it by slamming the wand into the side of its head and it disappeared into a splash of brightness, he felt as though he just watched a movie, because everything felt unreal.
🩺For the next two years, the two of you have such a domestic bliss, Daimon feels it's unreal that someone thinks he's not as unsufferable as he thinks he is, and by the way you smile at him so sweetly, he believes you are just as happy as he is, living together.
🩺Though when Yashiki goes ghost-hunting again, both of you are willing to help; Daimon remains in the hospital to care for Hiroo and Banshee, while you go on-site to aid him and Mashita with investigation.
🩺He knew both men would take care of you, and he knew you were strong and witty enough to take care of himself and succeed in this new case;
🩺Alas, when you are brought to the hospital, in full hysterics, Shuuji panics for the first time in his life - What in the world could have shaken you to such degree, that you lost your cool?
🩺After Mashita explains the three of you were blocked in an elevator filling up with a bunch of huge spiders, even he cringes, especially knowing your clear aversion and disgust towards them.
🩺As much as he cares about the two special patients in his care, he's going to take the week off to take care of you.
🩺He'll hold you close and try to reassure you to the best of his ability; Though he's known as not having the best bed-side manners, he's so unexpectedly tender and sweet, that Yashiki thought it was another person altogether.
🩺He'd make you warm honey tea and suggest watching any of your comfort tv series or movies, and he'll kiss your face so gently.
🩺There's not much he can help much to help you relax, except get some sedatives if you're going into panic mode again, but regardless, there's nothing he wouldn't do for you.
🩺When you're finally better, he'll feel so relieved - He was so worried for you and your mental state, that he'll be fussy over you for a long time going on.

🐇 It's needless to say, you and Yashiki went through a lot together.
🐇 From the day you got cursed, until you managed to purify the ghost with Yashiki's help, and got all better.
🐇 You decided to stay until the very end to aid your partner with the curse - But if not even the Kannon Soldier cursed him then... Could it have been Mary...?
🐇 Yashiki was protective of all the mark bearers he encountered, you most of all, so when he regained his memory, he made sure to keep everyone at a safe distance so he can deal with Mary himself.
🐇 You were the only one who knew the truth of the Doll, so of course, you worried over his well-being; But he still wouldn't step back and allow you to help him, it was far too dangerous for anyone else.
🐇 So, to reassure you, he promised to take you out on a date by the time he's some with the Doll; And he vowed to also tell you the truth and his memories.
🐇 Thankfully, that evening, you receive a text from Yashiki, with the details of your date the next day, namely the time and place.
🐇 You're so excited and happy that he's alive, that you can't contain your joy, and you call all the mark bearers to tell them that Yashiki is alright and he finally got rid of the curse - And decide to celebrate together, of course!
🐇 What was supposed to be a private date became a private party for the Death Mark survivors - And although he was bewieldered, Yashiki was beyond touched by your act.
🐇 Still, you still had to go on that date - And when you finally did, he told you all about his real identity, as Kujo Masamune, about his sister, about the Doll Mary, and what not.
🐇 And for the next two years, you had a beautiful relationship, with Mashita as the wing-man.
🐇 But when the two of them went to investigate the Masquerade Love Hotel, you got worried; Can't he stay out of trouble, for once? Those two are searching for an early death sentence.
🐇 So of course, from your worry stemmed overprotection, and you insisted in joining them in the investigation.
🐇 Unfortunately, because of your personal relationship with Yashiki, and your spiritual-proneness, you were the first prey of the Jirogumo spirit.
🐇 Not only were you forced to experience first-hand the memories of the poor, tortured girl who was forced to ingest a living spider crawling down her throat with those furry legs, but you felt all of her horrors.
🐇 Once you came to, your mind was in shambles, and you shrieked, running the hell out of that perverted torture den, aimless and confused;
🐇 Thus, you ended up wearing only your pretty lingerie, on a dusty bed, slamming your boyfriend on the bed to seduce him into sleeping with you.
🐇 At first, Yashiki was shocked out of his mind - What the hell happened to possess you like that? You were never this straight-forward, let alone to do something so vulgar and lustful in public; But then, he noticed the spider web sticking to your back.
🐇 As soon as he ripped it away, you fell limp in his arms like a marionette, deep into a coma that he knew wouldn't get away unless the ghost was exorcised.
🐇 He quickly dressed you back in your clothes and called for Mashita to help him get you to Daimon under constant care.
🐇 The whole time, he was out for revenge - Yes, he pitied the poor ghost girl, but he pitied you more; Not only that, but were it not for Mashita, he also would have died, plunging out of the window.
🐇 Who was going to take care of you, if he dies?
🐇 He was going to fight even God himself, if it meant saving you; So there was little a silly little malevolent ghost could do, that would deter him from his path of purifying it.
🐇 Even Mashita hadn't seen him so on-edge and boiling inside from rage for allowing you to get hurt and possessed like that.
🐇 The otherwise moral compass and spine of the group was almost shaking with anger, and it was terrifying.
🐇 He even cursed once! Yashiki - Cursed!
🐇 When the whole charade was finally over, he rushed to the hospital to see how you were doing.
🐇 Thankfully, you didn't remember a single thing of those traumatic encounters, and he wasn't going to tell them to you either.
🐇 He just told you you collapsed suddenly because of low blood sugar, and Daimon gave you some glucose IV and a good rest.
🐇 Though you didn't fully buy it, it was clear he wasn't going to tell you the truth, so you let that be.
🐇 Surprisingly though, he asks if you want to go on a date with him. At home, watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate by the fireplace.
🐇 He's as much of a gentleman as always, or even more so.
🐇 Although he's sometimes awkward when expressing himself, holding you tightly to his chest does wonders in non-verbally telling you how terrified he was for your well-being.
🐇 For his sake, you don't ask about the investigation, just settling to being happy it was over.
🐇 Instead, you decide to promise him that you're not going anywhere - You're a tough cookie, and will always be by his side.

☾☾☾
The next couple weeks were far too busy for your liking. Your boss was calm and kind, but lately she had been busy and stressed, which meant that you were as well. You hadn't had time to venture to the golf course, even though you were missing it dearly.
Something else you were missing dearly, was your father. The anniversary of his death was coming up next week, and you'd be lying if you said that you weren't in a rut.
Sunday, you sat on your couch, soothing your pains with a tub of chocolate ice cream. It was a gorgeous day outside, but nothing you could dream of had the ability to your ass up and moving.
As you sat and wallowed in your self pity, a text lit up your phone. You ignored it at first, until you glanced down and saw who it was from.
Larissa (from golf)
How are you, darling? I haven't seen you in awhile :(
You opened your phone and smiled down at the text. Someone else that you were missing dearly, was Larissa. Since you last golfed with her, you have been slowly coming to the realization that you adored the tall woman. The parts of her that she showed you, and the little that you did know about her, had you thinking about her often, and becoming increasingly enamoured with her.
She was truly gorgeous, inside and out. She was smart, funny, caring, soft, selfless, and just absolutely ravishing. The thought of her had you kicking your feet and blushing. You felt so safe and calm in her presence, she brightened your day whenever you saw her. She was one of a kind, truly.
You have been thinking about what Glen and Tom said, 'She likes women, and she's single.' As giddy as that made you, for some reason, you couldn’t help but question why she was single. Why was a woman, a woman like her, single? Had the gods put this glorious woman loving woman in front of you just to spite you? Just to make you crazy? Perhaps she was crazy? Unattainable? Well, she had twenty years on you, which didn't bother you, but maybe it would bother her.
Yes, that's what she was, unattainable. She was lovely, and as you said, one of a kind. There was nobody else like her, nobody else in her damn league.
You
Hi Larissa! I'm fine, how are you? I've been busy with work, but I hope that you've been at the course enjoying yourself :)
Larissa (from golf)
I've been out with Tom and Glen a few times, it has been fun. It's not as enjoyable without you there, though ;)
You held back a giddy laugh, what a flirt.
You
I miss it :(
Larissa (from golf)
Won't you come out to play next week, Prudence? :)
You
Of course! What day are you free?
Larissa (from golf) <3
Saturday at 5?
You sighed, Saturday was the anniversary of your fathers death.
Alas, what better thing to do on that day besides golf?
You
I can't wait! See you then :)
Larissa (from golf) <3
Take care, darling!

4-
Saturday had been harder for you than you had anticipated, which was why you found yourself late for golf. You pulled up to the golf course, basically running to the first hole, and found Larissa waiting patiently, wiping down her clubs as she basked in the sun. You trained your eyes on her as you slowed your pace and walked up behind her.
She truly looked angelic, her light blonde hair becoming gold in the sun, and her figure outlined in a soft glow. You stopped and let yourself breathe for a moment, taking in the sight before you and committing it to memory.
Damn, Glen was right, you did have a crush. The more you thought about it, the more you realized that you were downplaying it.
"There you are, love" Larissa smiled, turning around when she felt a presence behind her. She was wearing a light yellow striped polo and a white golf skirt. You had to stop yourself from gasping when your brain registered the image before you.
"Sorry I'm late Larissa. I really have no excuse" you chuckled.
Larissa shook her head and batted her lashes at you, "No worries Prudence, I was just enjoying the sun."
When you got to hole 5, you were setting up to drive, gauging your swing. It had been a peaceful day so far, you and Larissa had been chatting and taking your time.
You heard a golf cart pull up on the path next to you, and you stopped what you were doing. To your total annoyance, the younger man who had served you the other day, and also made rude comments about Larissa, got out of his cart and walked your way. You heard Larissa mutter 'fuck' under her breath.
"Larissa, you're looking fine, as always" he said with a cocky smile.
"Jake, why are you here?" Larissa's eyebrows quirked up in question, an unamused frown on her face.
Jake gestured to another young man behind him, "Why, Brad and I just wanted some playing time with you ladies." He then gazed past Larissa, and set his eyes on you, looking you up and down.
"I haven't seen this one around before, she any good?" he asked Larissa.
"She is, very good. But I would appreciate it if you would leave us to play by ourselves" Larissa basically spat.
"You want her all to yourself huh?" Brad chimed in.
"I can see why, she's hot" Jake said, chucking and nodding to Brad.
You took a deep breath as you looked to the grass. You didn’t want to do this, ever, but definitely not today.
"I'll make you a deal woman" Jake said, gesturing to you. "Let’s play together. If you beat me on this hole, I'll leave you both alone today; but if I beat you, you have to go on a date with Brad."
Your face fell to one of disgust at his words. And why would you want to go on a date with this pretentious, ugly, lowlife man? Was there a reason anyone would want that?
Larissa was shocked at his bet, and she turned your way to gauge your vibe. You were standing there, leaning against your driver, face scrunched up, repulsed. It brought a little relief to Larissa, knowing that you were in fact, not interested in this cocky man, and that you'd rather stay with her.
She turned back to the boys, her fists tightened beside her body in anger.
"She will be doing no such thing." You let a small smile form on your lips.
"Fine, then I bet you, Larissa. And when I win, you have to go on a date with me."
You let out a loud scoff as Jake's lips curled up into a smirk. You then stepped away from the tee and stood closer to Larissa. You watched as her eyes widened, she would be doing no such thing, no such childish thing.
"I will not be-" "I accept your bet, Jake" you said, interrupting Larissa. Larissa looked down at you, eyebrows set in confusion as she took you in.
"Except when I win, you leave Larissa alone, for good" you stated, indefinitely. Jake chuckled and shook his head, "Fine, deal."
"Ladies before gentlemen" you said, gesturing for him to step up to the tee first. He frowned at you, but pulled his driver and made his way up. You heard Larissa giggle behind you, then you felt butterflies in your stomach over the sound. You didn't want to do this, but if you were going to, you were going to do it right.
As Jake set his tee in the ground as you took the time to plan your hits. It just so happened that you were exceptionally good at this hole. You paid no mind when Jake drove the ball, as it didn't matter anyway. You then set up and drove your pro v1, sending it the same place that Jake's ball had landed.
"Well, let's go" Jake said, hurrying Brad into the cart. You looked up at Larissa and ushered her into the cart, following close behind them. It wouldn't be easy to cheat at golf, but you didn't trust these boys, not for a second.
As you drove down the fairway, Jake stopped at his ball. You didn't know exactly where yours had gone, but it was around this area.
"Here!" Larissa said, pointing to the pro v1 in the grass. You let out a menacing laugh, it had traveled further than Jake's.
You watched as Jake pulled a wedge, and shot his ball to the green. You did the same, sending your pro v1 to the green, and hiding your smirk as you did. You took a deep breath to calm your nerves, you really wanted to impress the older woman. But you were lucky, this was going surprisingly well.
As you played, Jake and Brad murmured comments to each other, some of which you caught.  Sometimes Jake would say sexist things to your face, and every time you would tell him to shut up, or Larissa would spit back at him, but it honestly fueled you to do better.
As you ventured back to the cart to grab your putter, you felt Larissa's hands at your shoulders. She leaned down to your ear from behind, whispering in a way that made you hold back a shiver. "You're doing exceptional darling, show them who's boss."
Her praise was enough for you to end up with a birdie and amusedly watch Jake struggle to sink his ball on par. You watched as Jake threw his club to the ground and cursed, to which you threw your hands in the air and ran over to Larissa.
"Hell yea!" you hollered, jumping up and high fiving her with both hands.
"Great job darling! I knew you could do it, I'm so proud" Larissa said, wrapping her fingers around yours. You blushed as you held her hands, "Well, at least he'll leave you alone now."
You heard Jake and Brad talking loudly behind you, and didn't hesitate to turn and walk up to them. Larissa couldn't hear your conversation from where she was, but she watched as you pressed a finger to Jakes chest, your jaw clenched in anger. Your gaze bore into Jake's eyes, relentlessly speaking.
"If I ever see you talk to Larissa or glance at her inappropriately again, I swear to god I will haunt you forever." And that was that.
You sighed as you finished the last hole on the course and sat in the golf cart. Larissa could see plain as day that you were tired, worn out perhaps, and she placed a hand on the small of your back.
"What's got you down, darling? Tired?" she asked sincerely. You nodded your head, averting her gaze, until you felt a tear trickle down your cheek. Larissa leaned over and wiped it away gently, you turned as your gaze met hers. She looked down at you with worry, her blues silently asking if you were okay.
"It's the anniversary of my fathers death" you murmured.
Her shoulders dropped, "Oh Prudence I'm sorry darling, I didn't know."
You shook your head and looked down at your hands, "No it's okay. I figured there was nothing better for me to do today than golf."
You took a deep breath and looked back up at her, your lower lip wobbling.
"Being with you makes me feel better" you whispered.
Larissa pouted, her arms wrapping around you and pulling you close. You laid your head on her shoulder, the warmth of her body bringing you a sense of peace.
"You did so well today, showing up those immature boys. I know what we should do" Larissa whispered.
You pulled back and tilted your head in question, "What?"
The woman smiled as she stepped on the gas, "We should buy you a new driver!"
Larissa took you to the shop, and you slowly made your way around. There were a few drivers that caught your eye, but there was one in particular that would match your set perfectly. You walked up and checked the price, letting out a hum in thought.
Well, that was an issue. It was very pricey, even though it was on sale.
Larissa watched you ponder over it, then walked to you with a toothy smile.
"This one is nice Prudence, it matches your set perfectly."
You nodded, setting it back on the rack. "It is, it's just a bit pricey."
You walked around some more, pondering the other drivers before settling against the wall and checking your phone. You watched Larissa as she looked through the irons, and you took the time to stealthily check your bank account.
After a couple minutes, you decided that you could afford it, barely. You sighed, walking over to the driver and picking it up.
Larissa had watched you check your phone out of the corner of her eye, she knew what you were doing. She decided in that moment that she wanted to make you feel better, to give you a little joy on this rather depressing day.
"Are you happy with this one?" she asked, taking it from you to look it over.
"Yeah, I guess I'll get it. I really need a new one."
Larissa nodded, handing it back to you. You took it to the counter and gave it to the man, digging for your card.
"$600" the man said, and you almost threw up.
"One sec, I'm just looking for my card" you replied, digging through your bag in a rush.
Larissa took this opportunity and walked up to the counter, then you heard a beep. You stopped your rummaging and turned to her, wide eyed.
"Do you want your receipt?" the man asked. "Yes, please" Larissa replied.
She then took your driver from the man and held it out to you.
"L-Larissa?" you stuttered, not believing for a second what you had just witnessed. Larissa smiled and grabbed your hand as she drug you outside, basically shoving the driver into your hands so that you would take it.
"Why, what, why did you pay for this? I-I can't take this!" you said loudly, beginning to panic. Larissa placed her hands on your shoulders and bent down to your level.
"Shh darling, it's alright. I wanted to do something for you. I want you to know that you deserve to be treated well Prudence, and I want to see you happy."
You took deep breaths, getting lost in her deep blues as you listened to her soft gentle voice. "That's-it's so much money though. I don't want you to spend that on me" you whispered, lip quivering. Larissa smiled and pulled you to her.
She mumbled into your hair, "You're worth it darling. Don't worry about the money, because I'm not worried about it."
You almost laughed, you couldn't help but think that only a rich person would say something like that. Your breathing settled as you focused on her heartbeat against yours. Tears gathered in your eyes over this rather emotional day, and you buried your head into her chest and held her tighter. "Thank you, Larissa."
☾☾☾
You were practicing your putting skills with a friend after work. Mark was very good at his job, and he had helped you out with many things since you started. He had just gotten into golf, so in turn you offered to teach him a few things.
Larissa made her way to the entrance of the clubhouse, doing a double take when she spotted you. Her heartbeat picked up, you weren't hard to notice, your distinct look and beauty made you easy for her to spot. She tilted her head in question as she watched you converse with a man, helping him out by adjusting his arms and putter.
Larissa obviously knew how to putt, but in that moment she wished that she didn't. She wished that she needed help with something just like that.
She watched as the man took his try at putting, then he leaned in close to you and whispered in your ear. Larissa's eyebrows furrowed as she took in the scene before her, and she felt herself become a bit defensive. She didn't really know why, but she felt a little, bothered? She wanted to march over to you and interrupt, push herself in between the two of you.
Perhaps she was jealous?
"Do you have the things?" Mark whispered to you, hoping nobody would hear. You tried your best not to let out a laugh, he was being so secretive about something so normal. You reached into your jacket pocket and handed him a brown paper bag that contained condoms. Mark was a sweet and quiet man, and he and his girlfriend were not very outgoing souls. He asked you recently if you'd get him some condoms, as he was too nervous to buy them in public. You were glad that he felt comfortable with you, and you understood where he was coming from, you didn't mind helping a friend out.
Larissa headed towards the washroom, her legs taking her there without question. That man didn't seem like a threat, well, why would he be anyway? It was alright if you liked men, it was alright if you were with someone. She wasn't with you, she really didn't even know you that well. Yet, she couldn't help but be bothered by it.
She quickly shifted into the form of a middle aged man in light golf attire and exited the washroom, making her way to the putting green. When she got to the green she pulled out her putter and eyed you as you were practicing your technique.
The man was gone, hopefully, and you were rather focused on your ball. Larissa's eyes raked over your form, from your determined expression, to your outfit, to your shoes, to your club, to... she looked down at the green and caught something gold on the ground. Was that…a condom?
'Alright, a little more to the left, don’t hit it so hard' you thought to yourself.
"Hi there" a tall man greeted, smiling down at you. You tilted your head in surprise as you looked up at him. He spoke with a British accent, had very light hair, wore pristine attire, and looked rather...well you'd say it, prude.
"Hi" you replied, offering a light smile. As you took him in, you noticed his blue eyes and pale skin, and you couldn't help but think that he'd be perfect for Larissa, if she were into men. You quickly clenched your fist at the thought. Thinking of Larissa with someone else, a man especially, made you bothered, outraged.
Perhaps you were jealous?
"Drop something there, darling?" the man asked, gesturing to the ground. You gazed down as you followed his line of sight, and your eyes landed on a gold wrapper. You pursed your lips in embarrassment as you realized that you had dropped a condom.
"Oh, uh, that's not mine" you lied. The man walked closer to you, bending down and picking it up almost right under your feet.
"Not yours?" he asked, holding it in his hand. You stared at it for a second, feeling embarrassed by the situation. It just felt weird, dropping this, of all things, at a golf course and a man, of all people, finding it.
You shook your head, "Nope" you said, popping the p when you did. The man shrugged and shoved it into his pocket, nodding and bidding you a good day.
Larissa knew that was a weird encounter, and that it would leave you confused. She couldn't help it, though, why did you have a condom? It had to be yours, it was under your feet, and you were the only one on the putting green. You looked really, really embarrassed, even guilty when she had asked about it. There was nothing wrong with having condoms, obviously, but she couldn't help but wonder why you had them. You were far too sweet, to pure to be in the hands of a man. She could take care of you better than any man could, in many ways.
There were hints that she had gotten from you that made her think you may fancy her, but she has been fooled before. She hoped that you were not messing around with men, and she really hoped that you were into women, into her.
☾☾☾
5-
Today you were out with Tom, Glen, and Larissa, and you had no bad feelings about a certain slimy dude slithering around. On top of that, you were really excited to use your new driver. Larissa warned the elder men that she may be late, so Tom and Glen decided to start without her.
"Nice driver you got there" Tom said, admiring the driver in your hands.
"You save up fast, huh?" he added with a smirk. You rolled your eyes at him, you knew by the look on his face that he was messing with you, these old men seemed to know everything.
At the second hole, you watched Glen tee off. You always took note of his technique, as his drives were the best you've seen. Well, besides Larissa's, of course. You suddenly felt long fingers lay themselves gently over your eyes from behind, and you let out a yelp in surprise. You got a whiff of rose and frankincense as a smooth accent filled your ears. "Who is it?" Larissa asked, murmuring against your hair.
You couldn't help but smile wide as instant happiness flowed through you.
"Larissa!" you beamed, turning around and gazing lovingly at the tall woman. Your smile got bigger, if that was even possible, when you saw her toothy grin looking down at you with joy.
She adorned a white sleeveless dress, and her light aesthetic, including her creamy skin, made you feel a bit insignificant, insecure. She was the sun, her smile and warm personality lighting up your day with ease. She was the embodiment of life, she was vital to get you through the day, everyday.
And you were, well, perhaps the darkness, perhaps death. Your aesthetic was dark, your thoughts were even darker, and you did not shine in the way that she did.
You thought for a moment that maybe you two needed each other, like the sun and the moon, to balance out. That thought quickly faded though, as you were not the moon. The moon was far too bright, far too intelligent, and absolutely nothing would, or should, change her in anyway, dull her light in the slightest.
Tom chuckled, "Oh, so now Rudy smiles." Larissa's brows furrowed as she turned her attention to Tom, "What? Who?" she asked confused.
"You wouldn't have anything to do with Rudy's new driver there, would you Riss?" Glen asked, changing the topic.
"I don't know what you're talking about" Larissa replied, pulling out her 3 wood. Glen looked to Tom and laughed amusedly, making his way over to you. He leaned in and winked, "Good going girl, got her spending money on ya already."
As the day progressed, you came to realize that your old driver was in fact, holding you back. You were an excellent player, and you knew that, but this driver gave you that extra push you needed to travel yards further.
"I'm surprised Jake isn't up Rissa's ass. I haven't seen him around lately, have you?" Tom asked Glen. "No, I haven't seen him" Glen answered, a smile pulling at his lips. Larissa chuckled and looked at the old men in wonder, "What are you two up to?"
Tom raised a brow, "I was just wondering what happened to him, he seemed to be all over you." You furrowed your brows at the men, the way they were talking was obviously sarcastic, and you couldn't help but think that they were hiding something.
"Last I heard little miss here challenged him for Larissa" Glen said, smirking your way. You blushed. "Last I heard he got fired" Tom added. Your eyes went wide, fired? Had you gotten him fired? No, no, he had've gotten himself fired.
"What?" Larissa asked, her mouth opening in surprise. The old men laughed. She narrowed her eyes at them, "Did you two have anything to do with it?!"
The old men looked at each other, "No, no. Wasn't us" Tom said, putting his hands up in surrender. "We would never" Glen added, winking at the woman.
You stepped on the gas of the golf cart, driving Larissa to her car after 14 holes. She had meetings with the board today, which was her reason for being late, and why she had to leave early. You were thankful that she came out today at all, considering how busy her day seemed to be. Yet, you couldn't help but be disappointed at her leaving.
You drove down the path to the parking lot, going full speed. You didn't speak, as your dark thoughts were, for some reason, taking over. You felt suddenly tired and frustrated, like you didn't have the energy to finish the game, not without her.
A rabbit caught you off guard as it fled the line of trees on the right side of the road and ran in front of your cart. You swerved in an attempt to not hurt the animal, almost falling off of the path as you did. You watched out of the corner of your eye as Larissa squealed and gripped the handle of the cart, as your quick turn almost sent her flying out.
"Shit Riss!" you screamed, reaching out and grabbing her by the arm to pull her back in. You set the cart straight once more, and finally reached the parking lot. When you stopped, your heart beat fast, you realized that you were holding onto Larissa like she was your lifeline.
Larissa looked at you with a shocked expression before she burst into laughter. You watched as she threw her head back as a loud laugh racked through her body, her hand coming to squeeze yours.
Her laughter was contagious, despite your depressing and frightened mood, you laughed with her. Tears threatened to fall from your eyes as you were feeling a myriad of emotions. You could never live with yourself if you had hurt this gift of a woman.
"Darling, that was almost the end of me" she giggled, eyes closed as she tried to compose herself. Tears fell slowly from your eyes as you thought about it. You knew that she was joking, but the possibility of hurting this precious woman wrapped your insides in thick rope and forced them out of your throat. You felt like you may throw up.
"Prudence, what's wrong?" she asked, leaning closer to you with a new found serious expression. You wiped at your eyes and chuckled, "Nothing Riss, I'm really sorry" you murmured. Larissa caught your lousy attempt to hide your tears, and she pulled you tight against her.
"That was fun darling, let’s do it again."
You looked up at her, your eyes glimmering with tears and apologies. "Really?" you whispered.
"Of course, love. Would you be up for night golf? On Friday?"
You smiled, night golf sounded fun, you haven't done that in a long while. "Yes, please."
You drove back to meet Tom and Glen at hole 15, digging out your hybrid. You were quiet for awhile, and Glen and Tom took note of that.
"She likes you, you know" Glen said, walking your way with Tom following behind. You shook your head in disbelief. "No, she doesn't" you chuckled sadly.
"She does Rudy, she told us" Tom admitted. You gazed up at the older men in surprise, but said nothing.
"Did she invite you to night golf?" Glen asked.
"Yeah, she did" you nodded.
Tom smiled, "She wants to get to know you better. She said something about you making her feel younger, making her feel special. I suppose she likes playing with you for the same reason that we like playing with her, but different."
You sniffled as you thought about it, maybe they were right, maybe they weren't always pests.
"I like her, a lot" you mumbled. The older men smiled at each other before Glen placed a hand on your shoulder.
"Okay, here's what you're going to do."

On Thursday, you found yourself at the mall. You wanted, no needed, a wardrobe update. You often wore pants to golf, but Larissa had inspired you to branch out. You tried on a few golf dresses and skirts, finding enough confidence to buy a black sleeveless dress and a red skirt. You always thought that Larissa looked delectable in her outfits, and you wanted to keep up with her.
Glen and Tom actually gave you some good advice, planning something that you thought would be rather successful, if you could stick to it.
Some days, you were not confident in yourself. You have always been this way, but you worked through it.
Larissa however, was always perfect. Her non judgemental and caring personality made you feel safe under her gaze, but you couldn't help but think that she was too beautiful for someone such as yourself.
When you got home, you couldn't help but feel giddy as you downed some red wine, excited to see Larissa tomorrow night. You tried on your white polo with your red skirt, and decided that it was as close as you'd get to Larissa.
As close as you'd get to being the light, the goddess, the life that she embodied.
For she was the sun, and you revolved around her.
☾☾☾
6-
As the night began to fall dark, you scanned the outside of the clubhouse. You needed a drink (or two) for courage, as you went over Glen and Tom's plan in your head.
It was simple, make a bet with Larissa, win. Make a bet with Larissa, win. Make a bet with Larissa, wi- "Good evening, love."
You whipped your head around to find Larissa marvelling down at you. She was wearing a sage green golf dress, and she looked absolutely exquisite.
"Hi Riss!" you beamed, your heart beat picking up rapidly.
"Are you ready to play, Pru?" She looked down at your drink and side smirked, "Or do you want to have a drink first?"
You nodded as you scootched over a seat and gestured for her to sit. The waiter brought her a glass of red and she held it out to you as her other hand landed softly on your thigh.
"To the end of the summer" Larissa smiled.
You clicked your glass to hers, "To the end of the summer."
The night was beautiful. Many stars were out, shining in the vastness of space and displaying their infinite beauty. The course felt different in the dark, but you liked different. The artificial lights lit up the night peacefully, and you were excited. Nervous, giddy, scared, and excited. There weren't a lot of people playing tonight, and for that you were grateful.
As you and Larissa started hole three, you put the plan into action. You knew that if you waited any longer, you would wait until the game was over. Yes, you were a master of procrastination.
"Hey Riss?" you asked, fidgeting with your hands as you stared from behind. She was setting up to tee off, but the timidness in your voice made her turn around. She walked closer, not stopping until she was directly in front of you.
"Yes, darling?" You tried so hard to hide your smile, your enamour, your nervousness, your feelings, but as you looked up at her, you were almost positive that the truth was written in your eyes.
"Do you want to make a bet?"
You watched as Larissa's eyebrows raised, but her smile never faltered.
"What kind of bet?"
You instantly blushed, looking down at the grass and composing yourself. You looked back up at her, some confidence finding you as you replayed Glen and Tom's words in your head. 'She likes you, you know.' 'She does Rudy, she told us.'
"We will keep score from now until the last hole. If you beat me, well, you can choose whatever you want, but if I beat you.." You took a breath, "If I beat you, I get to kiss you."
Larissa's eyes widened, as did her smile, before she put on a façade, tilting her head to show that she was pondering accepting or denying.
"I suppose I'm down with that, but I'm not telling you what I want until I win" she winked.
You smirked and nodded as relief washed over you, "Fair."
You put your everything into the game. You truly did your best, praying and even manifesting, which you had never tried before, that you'd get to kiss this absolute goddess.
Larissa however, also played her best, which was slightly better than yours. She found it adorable that you had thought of this bet and had the confidence to carry it out, all because you wanted to kiss her. She was proud of you, she was happy, actually she wanted to scream with joy.
You, a beautiful and kind young woman that she admired, that she adored, that she was infatuated with, wanted to kiss her, an old and fragile woman.
Yet, she had a plan of her own, and it didn't involve you winning.
As the game went on, your instincts told you every now and then that someone was watching you. Larissa felt the same, she knew that you were staring her down as well. She blushed and shook her head discreetly, hoping you wouldn't catch her infatuation. She knew that you couldn't take your eyes off of her, just as she couldn't take hers off of you.
When you got to hole 6, you took a washroom break. Larissa was nowhere to be seen when you returned. You looked around as you pulled your driver, and found that you were all alone.
"Riss?" The dark frightened you. You always felt like something, or someone, was going to come out of the woods for you. You placed your tee in the ground while searching nervously for Larissa, perhaps she also went to the washroom. You realized that her clubs were set close to yours, so she couldn't be far.
You shrugged as you lined up your driver, ready to send this bad boy flying and win the bet. Just as you took a practice swing, you heard rustling in the woods. You froze, staring wide eyed into the darkness. Where was this woman? Being alone was starting to creep you out. You shook away your freight, and slowly walked closer to the line of trees.
You stared into nothingness for a moment, finding nothing and hearing the same. You hummed questioningly and turned away, planning on ignoring whatever you had heard, but as you turned and took a step, you felt arms wrap around you and pull you into the bushes.
You screamed as you fell onto your ass, grunting when you landed. You then heard laughter, menacing laughter. No, it wasn't menacing, it was charming.
"Darling, are you quite alright?" she asked through giggles. You turned quickly, meeting Larissa's entertained gaze. "Larissa!" you squealed, swatting at her as you threw yourself into the woman. You pushed her playfully onto her back, hovering over her as she chuckled.
You giggled at her antics, "What the fuck!"
Larissa cupped your face in her hands as she looked up at you. She winked, "I got you."
You were pulled away from your putting when Larissa cooed "You look absolutely ravishing in that outfit, darling." Your jaw dropped as you stared down at the green, a harsh blush appearing on your face. You chuckled nervously, "Uh, thank you Riss. I thought I would expand my wardrobe."
Larissa crept closer to you, close enough to brush her fingers across your waist.
"Very good choice" she whispered. You quickly turned around to face the tall woman, she was closer than you had expected.
You narrowed your eyes at her, "Are you trying to throw me off?"
Larissa smirked and leaned in closer, "I don't have to throw you off in order to win, love."
You swallowed hard, your breathing becoming ragged. This woman knew how to flirt, and damn did she get you going.
At hole 9, you were almost shaking with anticipation. Oh god, why did you think this was a good idea?! You wanted to win, but you also didn't. Alas, you had no choice in the matter as Larissa was a few strokes ahead of you, and you knew that there was slim chance you could win now.
You focused on the game, not saying a word as you acted unbothered by Larissa's soon to be victory. You watched in disappointment as she sunk the ball, and you followed. At this later hour, the night was black, only artificial light allowing you vision.
Defeated, you sighed as you placed your clubs into your bag and sat in the passenger seat of the cart. Larissa didn't allow you to sit for long, however, as she pulled you gently up and placed her hands on your waist.
"This was so fun Prudence, it's always delightful playing with you."
Larissa spoke quietly, and with a sincere expression that made you weak in the knees. You had hugged this woman a few times before, but the feeling of her warm hands on your waist and her face so close to yours made you quiver. She was a vision, half of her lit up in an orange yellow glow, and the rest, darkness.
You smiled, placing your hands on her arms, "It's always a pleasure, Larissa."
You were never the best at picking up on vibes. Yet, the way that Larissa was holding you and gazing down at you, along with the elder men's confirmation, gave you enough confidence to take a chance. You wanted to take it back as soon as you whispered it, but it felt like a reflex, it felt right.
"I like you a lot, Larissa." Larissa's eyes widened as she gazed down at you. She wasn't surprised at what you had admitted, but she was surprised that you actually admitted it.
Actually scratch that, she was surprised. She had hoped and prayed that you had feelings for her, but she never let herself believe that you could, until she heard the words come out of your mouth.
You held your breath as she smiled wide, scrunching her nose up as her eyes crinkled. You swear you'd never get tired of seeing her smile like that.
Larissa quickly pulled you closer to her, your face ending up in the crook of her neck. You breathed in deeply, your heart settling at the smell of her skin.
"I like you a lot too, Prudence."
Your face lit up with joy immediately. You were elated, surprised that she would admit it. Or perhaps you didn't believe that she could like you back, not until you heard it from her velvet voice.
Happy tears slowly gathered in your eyes as you spoke. "I-I really like you Riss. You're absolutely gorgeous, you're funny, you're a joy to be around, your smile lights up my day." You pulled back slightly, cupping her cheek. "I just want to squeeze your cute face every time I see you" you chuckled.
You then frowned as tears threatened to spill. "I can't help but think that you're too good for me, though, too good for anyone. I mean, I don't have a great job, I don't know what I want, some days I can't get out of bed, I'm anxious, I'm insecure, I'm-" Larissa cut you off before you could say anything further with a soft kiss. You shivered as your nose brushed against hers, and then you felt her warm lips on your own. You hummed as you revelled in the feeling, hands wrapping around her neck to pull her closer.
Larissa pulled away slowly, her lips now just unreachable.
"Don't put yourself down, darling. I'm not too good for you. I won the bet, and that's what I wanted. This is what I want" she whispered.
You blushed profusely, hiding your face in the woman's neck as you smiled.
"Thank you Rissa" you murmured, kissing her neck lightly.
Larissa took in a shuddering breath at the contact, she didn't want to let you go.
"Would you like to come back to my place, darling?"
As you two walked off of the course hand in hand, you couldn't help but admire her. You felt so nervous that you could pass out, but her presence brought you all the peace. As you marvelled up at the woman in the dark, you realized something.
She was the sun, you were the moon, and you couldn't help but think that the she belonged with the darkness.

Winning Plushies
Zayne/Gender-Neutral Reader
Summary: Zayne tries to win a plushie for you. Unfortunately, you are your own worst enemy.
Word Count: 791
This is a tickle fic btw!
~🍓~
You pressed your nose up to the glass of the claw machine, squinting thoughtfully at the plushies inside. Truthfully, you wanted them all. Alas, you were down to your last few tokens, so you really had to make them count.
“I want that one,” you said, pointing at the little Cone Crab plushie in the corner.
Zayne raised his eyebrows. “Really? It’s a little…”
You glared at him.
“…interesting looking,” he finished.
“Well, I still want it.”
“Fine,” Zayne said, inserting a token into the coin slot. “I’ll get it for you.” He moved the joystick to the right, as he carefully watched the claw move.
You two had been at the arcade all afternoon. While you had won a decent amount of plushies for yourself, you felt bad that Zayne didn’t have much of a chance to play. Although he seemed less than eager to have his turn, he finally relented after a little bit of back and forth.
You patted him on the shoulder. “You can do it, Zayne! You got this.”
“Is this your way of encouraging me?” He flicked the joystick a little to the left.
“Yes. Is it working?”
“Not particularly.”
He pressed the button. The claw lowered down and grabbed the Cone Crab, only for it to immediately slip out of its grasp. Zayne sucked his teeth and inserted another token.
You huffed. Zayne always had to be difficult. “Alright, then. How about this?” You hooked your arm around his waist. “Is this working?”
Zayne glanced at you momentarily before returning his attention to the claw machine. “You’re much too bold,” he said, a little color appearing on his cheeks.
You laughed a little, giving Zayne’s side a playful squeeze. You faltered when he jumped. “Zayne?”
“It was just a reflex. I’m not ticklish.” He said, a little too focused on positioning the claw correctly. If he wasn’t quick enough, the timer would reach zero, and he would miss his turn.
You smiled. “Really, you’re not? That’s disappointing.” You sneakily spidered your fingers up to his ribs, delighting in the way his entire body flinched.
“Stohop that!” he hissed through gritted teeth. “I’m trying to c-cohoncentrate.” Zayne was trying to keep his voice low to not disturb the other patrons, and perhaps to also keep his own dignity afloat.
“Stop what? I’m not tickling you, am I?” You asked, using your other hand to poke at his stomach.
Zayne buckled forward. “I’m tehelling you to stop this instant!” His ears had turned red, along with the rest of his face. Before you could respond, the claw machine beeped. You looked over, and, sure enough, the timer had reached zero. The claw automatically lowered, grabbed at nothing, and returned to its starting position. “Now, look at what you did,” he said, “You made me waste a token.”
“It’s not my fault that you’re so ti—“ One look at Zayne’s sneer made you stop in your tracks. “…jumpy. It’s not my fault you're so jumpy.”
“You’re much too touchy-feely with me. Just promise you won’t do it again.”
You held up your right hand. “I promise,” you said, closing your eyes for good measure.
Zayne waited for you to open your eyes before rolling his own. “Whatever.” He picked up one more token and slipped it into the coin slot. He started playing again, this time sneaking a couple of glances your way to ensure that you were keeping still.
Unfortunately, for Zayne, you weren’t particularly good at keeping promises. The moment his eyes left yours, you reached over and slowly dragged your index finger down the small of his back.
Zayne went rigid and let out a sharp gasp. He hit the button much too early, and, once again, the claw lowered down to grasp at nothing. He crossed his arms and glared at you over his sunglasses. You cackled.
“Sorry, sorry! I just couldn’t resist!” You covered your mouth with your sleeve to muffle yourself. His stern look was unwavering, which you only found more amusing. “Okay, okay, I’m really sorry. I promise not to mess with you, again. For real, this time.” You turned to face the claw machine. “I still want that Cone Crab.”
“Too bad.” Zayne shook his head. “That was our last token.”
“Really?” you said, searching your pockets. To your dismay, he was right. You didn’t have any more tokens left. “Wait.” You knelt down to search your tote bag, which was holding all of your plushies. “But, the Cone Crab’s the only plushie that I don’t have, yet. We need to win this one.”
The corners of Zayne’s lips shot up briefly. “Perhaps you should have thought of that before giving into your childish antics.”
Yeah…perhaps you should have.

I love these prompts. How about J for AlanGaipa?
Tumblr media
[J]oking about kissing—and then actually doing it::
Alan was drunk. He hadn’t meant to be—he was usually very good at holding his liquor—but some things you just weren’t meant to go through sober and attending the wedding of an ex was apparently one of them. He’d started the evening off with a shot to settle his nerves and it had all been downhill from there.
It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy for Wen. They hadn’t been good for each other—he realized that now—but seeing him at the front of a church smiling as he made promises of forever brought back memories Alan had tried very hard to bury. He wasn’t sad so much as lonely. So, in what he could only describe as a fit of deep depression, he stole a bottle of wine from the bar and snuck away to drink it.
He ended up sprawled out on the grass in the back corner of the spacious gardens where the reception was being held and although the sounds from the party drifted out to him, it was far enough away that he felt like he was alone. Or at least he had until a man turned the corner, spotted him, and stopped in his tracks.
Alan was drunk enough that he had to squint to bring the man into focus. Only then did he recognize Gaipa. He tried to sit up straighter in an effort to maintain just a bit of dignity in front of a client, but he immediately slunk back down again. He didn’t have the energy—or the sobriety—for professionalism tonight. He took another swig from the wine bottle instead.
“Khun Alan,” Gaipa greeted. “Are you hiding, too?”
“My ex just married the hottest man I’ve ever seen in my life,” Alan grumbled. “Of course I’m hiding.”
Gaipa chuckled and then, to Alan’s surprise, took a seat on the ground next to him. “Mind if I join you?”
Alan made a barely intelligible noise of consent and Gaipa smiled at him softly before turning his attention to the sky. Alan tried to follow his gaze, but looking upwards made him feel dizzy, so he settled for staring at Gaipa instead. The moonlight shining off of his skin made him look like a statue: beautiful and stoic. Alan wanted to admire him.
“What are you hiding for?” Alan asked after almost a minute of silence. “I thought you were part of their happy little chicken cult.”
“Chicken cult?” Gaipa laughed.
Alan waved him off. “You know what I mean.”
Gaipa just stared at him, that ever-present kindness in his eyes. There was something else there this time, though. A darkness that Alan often saw reflected in his own. Gaipa looked away.
“I might have spent a good decade of my life in love with one of the grooms,” he said forlornly. “I guess I’m just mourning what could have been. But it’s fine. It’s totally fine. Would you mind if I had a sip of that?”
Alan passed over the wine bottle and Gaipa took several large gulps before lowering it with a wince. “I don’t actually like wine,” he said in explanation.
That didn’t surprise Alan. Gaipa was young and uncomplicated. He was also very, very pretty.
“It’s his loss, you know,” Alan said, taking the wine bottle back from him. “Unfortunately, your precious Uncle Jim has horrible taste in men.”
A slight blush rose to Gaipa’s cheeks. Alan wasn’t sure if it was because of the words or the wine.
“It’s their loss,” Gaipa corrected. “Wen was an idiot for leaving you. If only they could see us now…”
“Drunk and pining?” Alan asked.
“No.” Gaipa laughed. “Together. Trash talking them at their own wedding. You know, I bet between the two of us, we know all of their dirty little secrets. We’re a force to be reckoned with. They should fear us.”
“Oh, if they saw us together, they would hate it,” Alan said. “Can you imagine? Just an ever-constant reminder of their past mistakes.”
It was a nice thought. And not just because Alan wanted Wen to see that he still had options. It was nice because it was Gaipa and sitting here with him was the least lonely Alan had felt in weeks.
The two of them looked at each other as the words and the alcohol settled between them and Alan could tell that they were thinking the exact same thing. He wasn’t sure which of them moved first, but the next thing he knew, they were kissing.
Gaipa’s lips tasted like sweet red wine and revenge.
When Alan finally pulled away, his heart was racing, inundated with feelings he hadn’t felt in a very long time. Gaipa didn’t run. He just sat there, his mouth open in surprise.
“I don’t think it’ll work unless they can actually see us,” Gaipa said, but Alan’s desires had suddenly changed. This moment wasn’t for Wen anymore. It was for him. So he leaned in, tangled his fingers in Gaipa’s hair, and kissed him again until the wedding became nothing more than background noise.

Driving Fear Into Your Heart
Word Count: 2.7k words
Pairing: X x Reader
TW: Cursing, Kidnapping, Stabbing, Yandere Tendencies (Pls read smth else if not comfortable)
A/N: I said this was inspired by X's halloween theme skin, but idk this maybe how I perceived it instead? Anyhow, lemme know y'all thoughts <3
Tumblr media
In a dark and hollow forest somewhere near the city. Where only fragments of moonlight shone through the small crevices of the tall trees branches and its leaves. It was eerily silent, until swaying locks of hair pass through the bushes in a haste.
A girl ran barefooted, cracking sounds of dried leaves filled her hearing, leaving a trail behind. Her complexion was pale, fear stricken and distressed. Her body felt sore and drained, it was only sheer adrenaline that made her push through.
Her feet were starting to hurt, forming small cuts and bruises on the sole. She has to stop running at some point, but she can't. Not when she's running for her life.
She was in the cafeteria, sitting along with her friend at their usual booth and chatting about ramdom stuff. Just like the usual. She was attentively listening when her childhood friend X, came into view along with his own fair share of group.
She found herself falling out of the conversation and instead decided to watch him from a distance. Only did her friend's voice broke her out of the trance with a small nudge.
"Don't stare at him too much or he'll melt." Her friend says teasingly, chuckling at her obvious crush at the lab nerd.
"I-I wasn't staring!" She quickly rebukes her claim, though her blood red cheeks and ear were contradicting it.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. Anyway.." Her friend's tone suddenly became serious, which made her get a bit confused as her friend seldom becomes serious during their conversations. "Have you heard about the kidnappings that's happening near the university recently?"
She shakes her head. She's been too absorbed on finishing her research paper these past few days that she blocked out any kind of gossips or news that would distract her from concentrating. She even went as far as to cancel all her plans of hanging out with X.
"There were a total of three missing cases reported and all of them were  students of different universities near our campus."
"The authorities haven't gotten a single clue whether it's a solo or a group operation. Either way, the kidnappers are still out there so do be careful."
Her warning sent a chill down her spine, terrified that such happenings were happening near them. Those poor students, she hopes that they were at least safe and alive.
She sent her friend a reassuring smile, squeezing her hand in a comforting way. "Don't worry. I always walk home with X anyway. You should be careful too."
"Oh, I'll be fine. Besides, I'm going on a date with y'know who later..." Her friend managed to light up the mood immediately by redirecting into another topic that she knew, she would interested in.
"What?? Since when? Tell me the fucking details!" She exclaims hysterically, practically slapping her hands down on the table earning a few strange looks from the people around them. She couldn't care less though.
Alas, the final bell rang throughout the halls signaling the end of the day. Tired groans from her fellow students and a few hastily gathers up their things, wanting to leave immediately.
As for her, she's delighted to walk home with him again after for so long only to be met with disappoinment.
"Sorry, (Y/n). I promised the guys I would hang out with them afterschool so I won't be able to walk you home." X says apologetically, a troubled smile grazing his handsome features.
He could see how your bright and grinning gorgeous face warps into a look of disappointment, making him feel guilty. "I can cancel it though. I'd rather be with you anyway."
The disappointment in her face quickly turns into a sheepish smile as she shook her head for a no. "No, it's alright. I can walk home with my friend instead." She obviously can't make him cancel his plans just for her satisfaction. After all, he has a life of his own.
"You sure? I could really—"
"Hey, X! You coming or what?!" One of his friends yells from a far, having an impatient look while the others grin at him in a teasing manner as they watch the scene unfold.
"Be there in a sec!" He yells back in response, looking over his shoulders with his eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. He looked back at her in disbelief. "Sorry about that. I gotta go. Remember to text me once you got home, okay?"
"I will." She chuckles, fondly grinning as light pink hue flows to her cheeks. This made X's heart softened, huffing a tiny chuckle as he brush a stray hair behind her ear.
"Be safe, my little lamb."
She watches as he ran up to his friends, some of them teasing him for the little moment they had. She's glad to know he found good friends despite his peculiar personality, he meant well.
~•~
After getting off the bus, the way to her apartment was already a bit dark and somewhat silent than usual at her on time arrival at dawn. Though, that's to be expected as she's staying in a peaceful neighborhood which she should be thankful for.
The soles of her shoes clicks on the pavement on each step she makes, the soft cold breeze of air moving past her ear as chills ran down her spine. Her surroundings were dark, the only light present were from the flickering street lights and the moon above her, which she thinks added to her paranoia.
She doesn't know if it's because she isn't used to walking home alone or is there someone watching her? She swore she could feel eyes from everywhere around her.
As she turned to a corner, footsteps sudden came to light from behind. She didn't thought anything of it, as it could be a passerby or a neighbor. Thankfully, she's near to her home so she briskly walked and much to her surprise, the person behind her began to speed up.
This set off alarm bells in her head, once she could see the light from her porch. She began to ran and screamed for help. However, all hope is lost once she felt a sharp pain struck behind her head as darkness engulf her sight.
~*~
A horrible stench whapped into her nose, as consciousness slowly seeped back into her figure. She pry her eyes open, blinking away the drowsiness as her vision clears up and able to take in her surroundings.
She's sat in the corner of a crusty room, the wallpapers were ripped and moldy. The pipes above her were leaking with merky water which where the awful stench came from. The windows in the room were boarded, as nothing but the gush of wind and crickets were heard from the outside.
She tried to move, but found it difficult as her wrists were tightly bounded together from behind to a pipe. She found it quite hard to breath because of the tight cloth on her lips. Panic fills her body as she heard heavy footsteps, and an unknown man had entered the room.
She glares at him, which made him smirk at her feistiness. He bends down to her eye level, and pats her head. "You're a pretty one, aren't you?"
His breath fans to her face, which made her feel nauseous and wants to puke at the horrible smell of alcohol and poor oral hygiene coming from him. He took off the cloth that's covering her mouth and traced his disgusting thumb across her bottom lip.
She didn't hesitate to bite down on his finger, hard enough to make him scream and recoil his hand away as blood rushes out of the bite. The man was furious and smashed the bottle of alcohol in his hand and points the severed half towards her.
"Don't fuck with me, woman. I can—" He was cut off when he heard a buzz coming from his phone. He clicked his tongue and immediately answers the phone, proceeding to leave the room.
Once he's out of sight, all the energy seeped out of her body as hot tears rushes down her cheeks. Tears trickle down to her knees, as she kept her mouth close to silent her ugly sobs. Her chest felt so tight, she's scared, deeply scared. She didn't think something like this could happen to her. Not when after being warned by her friend.
Then, she saw a faint glimmer from her peripheral vision. She looks up and saw a piece of broken glass from the bottle near her. She uses her foot to reach towards the shard and manages to push it to her side and tries her best to grab it.
Once she successfully got it, she began to slowly cut the rope, but found it to be quite thick and tough for the nibble blade.
It took her roughly 3 days before she could finally cut the rope because she was constantly interrupted by people coming in and sometimes watching over her. She felt drained as she refused to eat anything they gave her, but it didn't matter because she'll be out of her in no time.
She pushed her body up, and slowly walked up to the door, careful not to make any noise. She turns the knob and opens a small gap to peek. It was silent and there was only one man outside, and he was sleeping soundly, practically snoring.
She gently swing the door open, careful to not make it creek as she steps out of the room. She held in her breath as she began to take light steps behind the sleeping man. She sucked in her breath as the man began to turn in his sleep, rendering her still as she kept her eyes on him. Once she deemed it was safe, she continues her way to the door.
She steps out into the cold night, as a smile finally crept to her lips, tasting her freedom. Only for panic to once again surge as one of the men guarding outside saw her and calls to her, alerting the others.
She didn't think twice and ran into the dark woods. She didn't mind if twigs poked the sole of her feet, nor if she stepped on pointed pebbles. She just ran wherever she could, taking sharp turns to confuse her captors.
She could hear their voices getting farther, but she knows she shouldn't celebrate yet as the woods were hollow and wasn't sure if she's heading towards civilization or deeper in.
Her speed slow down as her adrenaline began to dissipate, she's breathless and looks around for any source of life. Much to her surprise, a hand had grabbed her wrist and instinctively she swipped her hand forcefully and elbows whoever it is.
The person grunts and moans in pain, the voice was oddly familiar. The person lights up their phone to their face, and soon she was able to make out who he was.
"You pack a mean elbow, little lamb." X smiles, chuckling despite the stinging pain on his nose. "Makes me think you didn't actually needed me."
His face quickly transforms into a scowl, looking back once he heard numerous of voices barking behind them. Without another word, he took her wrist and guided her out of the woods.
She saw his motorcycle parked by the side of the road, she hopped on and X quickly stepped onto the pedal as they drove away.
Her hands tightly hugged the small of his waist, leaning her head against his broad back as she tries to catch her breath. Her feet were in pain as well as her whole body. She couldn't stop shaking, as she cried on his back.
She felt his hand comfortably brush against hers, which sent butterflies inside her stomach flutter in ease.
"How.. did you find me?" She asks, keeping her head close to his back and listens to his faint heartbeat.
"I finally managed to track your gps using my phone and followed its location." He replies, keeping his voice low and words consise. "Sorry it took me a while. I had to first know your ips before managing to connect. Thank god, your phone is in working order too or I won't be able to track you."
His words flew into her ear, but she couldn't make sense of it as her energy began to lower that's she finding it difficult to keep her eyes open. "Thank you, X."
"No worries. After all, you know I'm always here for you." She could hear the usual smile in his voice. She finally lets herself rest and is unable to hear his next words.
"And I'm all that you need, and no one else matters, my little lamb."
A sickening and sadistic smile curls up to his lips, chuckling lowly.

X dumps a bucket full of cold water down on the unconscious person tied up to a chair infront of him. The man, jolts awake and flickers his eyes up at X.
"Good, good. You're finally awake. Did you slept well?" X muses, keeping the usual permanent smile on his face.
The man didn't bother to answer, starting to wiggle his way out of the chair in panic. X was displeased by this, but made no action and instead clicked his tongue.
The man finally stopped trying, his energy running low. "You bastard! Why are you doing this, X?! Let me go!"
The man's voice was irritating to X's ears, but he was glad to respond to his question in a simple and conventional manner.
X had walked up to the nearby switch and flicks it. Light began to shine on the wall littered with pictures. Pictures of (Y/n). His cheeks reddens as he took a step closer to the wall, his eyes flickering at each picture he took throughout the years in complete secrecy.
"Don't you think she's beautiful?" X asks the man, which confuses him and found the revelation quite disturbing.
"W-What...?"
"You asked why I'm doing this and it's because of her." X says, turning towards him once more. He took a step closer to a nearby table, his hand brushing against each tool on it. "I am merely protecting her from the filth swarming around her and trying to take what's mine..."
X grips the handle of a sharp and bloodied knife in his hand, taking slow steps towards the now frantic man who's eyes are filled with terror as he tries to reason with him.
X stops infront of him, bending down to his eye level. He moves his face closer to him, keeping his heterochromatic eyes into the man's terrified and shaking ones, a sadistic smile slowly forming on his lips. "This wouldn't have happened if you just kept your distance from her and not end up in the same predicament like the others..."
X had driven the knife into the man's throat, and pulls it back out. He watches as the man gurgle in his own blood rushing out of his mouth. He continues his attack until he was satisfied.
He only stopped a buzz emits in his pocket that came from his phone. With his bloodied hand, he tapped the screen and answers the caller.
"You got her? That's good news!" X muses, as he nods at the following sentences from the person in the other line.
His eyes flickers down to the mutilated and lifeless man in front of him, blood pours down onto the ground and pools around his shoes. He clicked his tongue, thinking he made quite a mess this time.
"Yeah yeah, I got it. Remember, don't touch her. Unless, you got a death wish." X warns before ending the call. He began to walk towards the wall swapped with photos of you, filling his heart with love and feeling of ease.
"Sorry, my little lamb. You just have to learn the hard way this time." X took a certain picture from the wall, looking down on it with a soft eyes and smile. It was a picture of them back when they were still children.
"And this time, with driving fear into your heart. You'll realize that I'm the only you'll ever need and trust after I come and save you."

April 22, 1989
Dear Will,
Prom is tonight. And I’m not going. It’s fine. I’m fine. I made up my mind a whole month ago and have been able to withstand the borderline harassment of our friends telling me that I’m gonna regret this decision for the rest of my life and would be better off just going without a date because it doesn’t matter if I have a date or not and it’s the experience that counts and Lucas said you’re going to be there so I should go too and fuck I regret this so much.
What time is it…? Why I’m writing down the question instead of just checking my fucking watch, I don’t know. It’s 5:30pm, prom starts at 6, and you probably haven’t left your house yet. And why I’m writing about the my suit being presentable enough instead of just going to my closet to check is so fucking counterproductive and
It was like a movie, the way I bolted out of the house in my dress slacks and suit jacket with half-tied converse, the laces billowing behind me in the wind as I biked through the neighborhood as fast as I could to your house. I should’ve just taken my car, but of course I had to bring all of my own rom-com fantasies to life. You know, like the Big Chase scene where the guy runs through the airport, praying that it isn’t too late to confess his love to the girl that nearly got away. But alas, I am no athlete, so this unfortunately came with the consequence of looking like a sweaty rat by the time I reached your driveway. Thankfully, you and El were still there, taking photos with Jonathan on the front steps. I haphazardly thrust my bike onto the curb and sprinted up to you as fast as my legs could carry me.
“Will!” I shouted, suddenly conscious of how I hadn’t prepared anything to say to you. My actions always have spoken louder than my words, which is concerning, considering the fact that I’m planning to become a writer once we’re out of high school. So I ran across your front lawn, and I stopped in my tracks when I noticed the surprised looks on Jonathan and El’s faces, the worried look on your own, and the confused expressions on Joyce and Hop’s.
“Hey, Mike,” Jonathan’s eyebrows furrowed together as I gasped for air.
“Hey, Jon,” I replied, leaning forward until my palms rested on my knees as I panted. I acknowledged everyone else, and then looked back up at you, standing back up and running my hand through my hair. The sweat clung to my hand, which I wiped on my slacks with a grimace. “Hey,” I said, “Yeah, so, uh– Will. Dude. Buddy. Do you want to go to the prom with me?”
There was a beat of silence that followed, and I felt the urge to cut my own tongue out. Before I could actually act on my impulse, you walked down the stairs and took a few more steps in my direction. “I thought you weren’t going,” you said, crossing your arms against your chest. I shook my head, shoving my hands in my pockets.
“I changed my mind. Lucas told me–” I began, but trailed off before I gave myself away. You could never know about how Lucas convinced me to go to prom on the sole basis of your attendance. That would’ve been humiliating.
“He told you what?” you prompted me to continue, taking another step forward so we were less than a foot apart.
“Just that everyone else was going, and that I was a weirdo for not wanting to go as well.”
“He’s not wrong,” you smirked up at me, and I lightly smacked your shoulder, feigning offense. “But, like,” you went on, “now that you’re actually coming to prom with us, doesn’t that mean you’re going with me already?”
Against my better judgment, I reached out and adjusted your shirt collar against the lapels of your suit. You looked up at me in mild shock, but hey, at least I didn’t kiss you. “I mean, I was asking if you wanted to go to prom with me as my date.”
Your face turned a beautiful shade of pink, and you stammered out, “I–I’m not sure if we’d be allowed to do that.”
“Come on,” I pleaded, “We’d be going as friends, they can’t kick us out for that.”
Another moment of silence bloomed between us like the yellow flower in your jacket pocket. You picked at your nails in contemplation. “Fine,” you relented with a smirk, “I guess I could go as your prom date… buddy.”
“I just know you’re never gonna let me live that down,” I whined, and you just laughed.
“Damn straight,” you agreed, and I refrained from making a gay joke on account of, oh I don’t know, outing myself. You put my bike in your garage while I was caught up on the plan for transportation, which was Lucas’ parents’ minivan, which would be there in a few minutes to pick us up. Needless to say, everyone was shocked when I climbed into the van.
Prom was pretty lame, and we all ended up leaving early and going back to your house, but I honestly don’t give a single flying fuck, because we actually got to dance together. I repeat: we actually got to dance together. The music had slowed down, everyone was finding their respective dates, and I was just about to leave the dance floor for my impending Closet Pity Party™ when you grabbed my wrist, pulling me closer to you and placing your hands on my hips. “What’s the point of prom if you don’t have at least one slow dance?” you asked, and I tried my best to appear as nonchalant as possible by shrugging. Meanwhile, I was, like, one second away from dying of happiness. It was dark enough I could get away with putting my hands on your shoulders, and you became a bit more confident with the way your hands gripped my waist as we swayed back and forth to the music. I’m grinning so hard while writing this. I think this has been the best night of my life by far. I hope this feeling lasts forever.
Love,
Mike

The Sorrow of Tomorrow Part 2
Part 1 here
She momentarily opened her eyes. Her whole body felt like a wreck. There wasn't one inch of her body that didn't hurt. She blinked, and she looked to her right. Harvey wasn't looking down at her, but his hand was holding hers in a vice grip. She tried to open her mouth, to say something to soothe a visibly upset Harvey. But she couldn't. She heard something about a nurse telling Harvey not to wait outside. She heard Harvey beg to come with her. Harvey's voice was hoarse. Not long after, she felt Harvey's hand loosen on hers. She couldn't hear or feel anything anymore afterward. She succumbed to the darkness once again.
Harvey was waiting in an uncomfortable chair. Head in his hand. He was sobbing. His shoulders heaved as tears now refused to shed. A warm hand touched his shoulder, then sat beside him. He lost track of time. Has it been one hour, two, or five? He refused to look at his wrist. He thought that if he knew how long it had passed and it got more than the nurse said the surgery would be, something terribly wrong must have occurred. So he chose to just look down and bury his head in his hands. Everyone was there in the waiting room. Donna, Jessica, Mike, Rachel, and even Louis looked like he was about to break down himself. She and Louis really shared a lot of things, against all odds. It was now too long for an operation to be, wasn't it? Harvey thought. It shouldn't be this long. He was tired.
He heard the OR doors open. Harvey snapped his head up so fast and stood way faster that he thought he'd collapsed. A visibly tired-looking doctor emerged from the room. Before the doctor had a chance to mutter any words, Harvey was already in front of him. Followed by the others. "How is she?" Harvey said his voice was just above a raspy whisper. "She is fine," the doctor said, as Harvey felt like his knees were about to give up. Thankfully, Mike was right beside him, supporting his weight. "The knife didn't cause any serious damage to her abdominal organs. Alas, we had to remove a small part of her intestine due to the injury. But there is nothing to be worried about. The operation went well, and she's recovering." After the doctor informed them that they could see her in the next 2 hours and excused himself, Jessica came to Harvey as Harvey cried in her arms.
She was in and out of consciousness. What she knew was that she was now in a hospital room. Her body still felt like it was hit by a train. She saw Harvey sitting beside her hospital bed, sleeping. She tried so hard to remember the last piece of clothing Harvey wore because it seemed to her that he was in the same clothing. She moved her fingers. Damn. Everything hurt. She tried again, and she successfully caressed Harvey's hair with her frail fingers. Harvey's eyes snapped open. His eyes finally met the eyes of the woman he loved more than life itself. "Oh God," Harvey whispered. She smiled. Harvey promised himself he wouldn't shed another tear when she woke up. But upon seeing her smile—the smile he hadn't seen in way too many torturous hours—he broke down. He took her hand in his and brought it up to his lips. Kissing it as if it were his lifeline. "I thought I wouldn't be able to see you again." His voice trailed off. "I thought you'd die." Harvey's voice cracked. She couldn't say anything yet; she felt like there were spikes in her throat. She moved her hand, now wiping away the tears on Harvey's cheeks. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you like I said I always would." Harvey shook his head, remembering just the freshly happened accident. The pale look on her face, the cold feel on her skin.. Harvey stopped himself from thinking about it all over again. She shook her head weakly. Hesitantly, Harvey leaned closer to her. I kissed her lips softly—oh, so softly. "I love you. I love you so much," he said between kisses. "I'll call the nurse," Harvey said as he jolted out of the room.
"So, how are we feeling, Mrs. Specter?" Doctor Gilmour entered her room as Harvey stopped making jokes about the vending machine down the corridor. She looked at the doctor, confused. Then to Harvey and he just smirked at her. "If you are feeling better, I will discharge you first thing tomorrow morning. Your chart shows good improvement." She almost jumped in bed upon hearing the good news. "I'm feeling better, much better." But it was Harvey who didn't look too happy. "Are you sure she's okay to be discharged? We could definitely stay another few days. Just to make sure." The doctor smiled knowingly at Harvey. "She's showing good progress. In fact, I feel like going home will do her good," the doctor turned at her, "won't it?" She nodded eagerly at the doctor's question. After the doctor excused himself, Harvey sighed. "You don't seem happy that we'll go home," Harvey shook his head. "I'm just thinking about how much rom-com I will have to watch with you for the sake of your recovery once we're home." Harvey faked a forlorn look. "We all know you're a sucker for Richard Gere," she smirked as Harvey laughed.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Harvey asked, he sounded almost mad at her. "Umm, taking cold water because I'm parched." She dramatically caressed her throat. "I've told you to stay in bed; if you need anything, ask me. I left you for 5 seconds, and you're already on your feet." Harvey scolded her. He took the water bottle and carried her in his arms. He situated her in their shared bed. Harvey opened the water bottle and handed it to her. She took a big gulp as he watched her. Harvey sat beside her. "I'm meant to take care of it. You're not as much as lifting a finger; you understand me?" Harvey looked at her, face full of seriousness. She smiled goofily at him. "What?" Harvey asked. "You're cute when you're all protective like this," she giggled, stopping herself when she felt pain in her abdomen from the movement. "See?" Harvey hurriedly helped her lay down. He laid beside her, and for some time they just laid down together in silence. "When you are fully healed, I'll tell Jessica I'll be taking 2 weeks off. I want to show you the world." She looked at him in disbelief. "Harvey, you've been working from home for almost a week. You can't take another 2 weeks totally off." She was ready to fight him. He shushed her with a peck on her lips. "You.. Us.. It's more important than work. I felt like I took everything in life for granted. When I thought I'd lose you, I felt like I was about to die myself." She smiled at how Harvey finally talked about his feelings openly. "We'll travel around Europe, just as you always talked about. I'll make your dreams come true." Harvey said against her lips. "You are my dreams come true, Harvey."

Soonyoung had planned all of this out as perfectly as he could. Nothing could go wrong: not when he wasn’t alone in playing out these plans.
The others were distracting you during the party, but his plans began far earlier. He’d stood by in the kitchen, more supervising than helping, as Mingyu carefully mixed out batter for your cake--your favorite flavor, Soonyoung had been sure of it. His flight had come in that morning, unbeknownst to you who thought it was getting in tomorrow (a tiny lie, but Soonyoung found it worth it to surprise you), and he immediately came to the Choi-Jeon-Kim-Chwe sharehouse (he thought there was another roommate, but he was blanking on their name at the moment) instead. His bags were stashed away in his car, and he’d take them up later when he drove you home tonight. He knew that you were out with Joshua, Jeonghan, and Jihoon while Mingyu worked on the cake. Not all of his-and-your friends could be there, unfortunately (truthfully, Soonyoung had tried his best to convince them all to at least stop in, but alas, adulthood got in the way), but the three distracting you had promised to be in attendance alongside three of the five living in this sharehouse. That was enough for him.
(Although he did tell Vernon he wouldn’t save him any cake. He would, because he knew Jihoon would sneak a slice, but Vernon was the only one getting away with it. As much as he liked Seungkwan and Chan... Both of them could beg you for leftovers tomorrow.)
Mingyu had worked carefully with Soonyoung watching. At least, it felt like it. But the two worked on some minor decorations while the cake baked, and then immediately they were popped into the freezer to cool quicker while they continued to work. It took a bit of begging from Soonyoung (which he suspected he only had to do because Seungcheol knew he would, considering he’d laughed after a certain point and told him to get up off of his knees and stop it, because he’d be happy to lend the space to him for once), but he’d picked here because it was bigger than the little cramped apartment the two of you owned. Of course, the choice of venue being here was because he’d hoped more of your friends could come, but that was fine. Plenty of room for everyone to breathe during a little get-together. The price was dinner for everyone in the sharehouse, and Soonyoung had happily agreed to it. He’d take them out sometime soon, and buy the drinks as well.
Mingyu had shown him how to make a chubby little cat out of stiffer icing. So while Mingyu iced the rest of the cake and made it pretty, Soonyoung made two little lopsided cats to put in one corner. He’d make sure that you got that piece: those cats were meant to represent the two of you. He hadn’t been able to give the orange one black stripes like he wanted, but he took the piping bag of red icing that Mingyu had used for the lettering and added another little heart next to the two of them. For you, he had reiterated to Mingyu. Your piece.
When the time came, he could hear your voice from down the hall. He’d hidden himself in Seungcheol’s room with the cake (he had heard Mingyu say that he’d stashed it in there to make sure that Jeonghan didn’t steal any of it--a light enough comment that the others understood because of the text he’d sent out earlier), and he could hear you laughing at something Joshua had said. You always had a pretty laugh in his eyes. You’d told him once that some people found it too loud, or too annoying, but he’d always thought it was the prettiest thing he ever heard. It was your joy: who could silence that? Not him. Not in a million years. He’d already mentally put that into a wedding vow: when you were his wife, he would ensure that you’d never feel an ounce of shame for laughing loud and proud, especially if it was due to his own silly jokes.
Seungcheol had said something about cake. The lights had been dimmed, and he and Mingyu had come into his room. With the candles lit, Soonyoung took a deep breath and then carried the cake out, already singing to you. He watched you turn from where you’d been giggling at something Jeonghan had said to you, and the realization hit you faster than anything else. As much as he knew you hated when people sang ‘happy birthday’ to you, he wanted to surprise you... and this just felt right. Even with the people around him joining in for a quieter rendition of it, your eyes next left him.
He stood before you, smiling as the candlelight lit up his face. “Happy birthday. I’m home.”
Your brows drew together as you watched him, lip quivering a little. “Soonyoung...”
“Make a wish,” he urged. “Before I drop the cake.”
That had earned a quiet giggle from you, and he watched you think for barely a second before blowing out the candles. The lights came back up, and he set the cake down, barely getting to turn before you’d embraced him tight.
“You told me you weren’t going to make it,” you whispered. “You jerk.”
He chuckled, arms wrapping around you. “Surprise.”
You pressed a longer peck onto his cheek, and he was sure you left behind a lipstick stain--faint, but still there. He was sure you’d leave him marked up with more before the day ended, too. He’d carefully cut the corner slice for you, just to make sure that you got the two little icing cats in love for yourself.
“It’s us.” He had said as he handed you the plate. “I did that.”
“And Mingyu did the rest,” Wonwoo called out, “so you don’t have to worry about getting sick.”
It earned another laugh from you. As much as Soonyoung wanted to be a little jealous, he couldn’t be: he was too busy falling in love with your laugh all over again. He took the fork from you, “Here,” and offered you the first bite.
It barely took seconds for Joshua to speak up, “I thought that was what people do at weddings?”
“Oh, so we’re at a wedding now?” Jeonghan looked up. “He really did plan ahead--”
“I’m just practicing!” Soonyoung called out over his shoulder, giggling as he turned back to you. He could see your engagement ring glittering in the light anyway. “It won’t be that much longer anyway...”
You’d accepted the bite, but grown flustered immediately. “Soonie...” You pouted, “They’re gonna tease...”
He was fine with getting teased at this point. He was in love with you, he’d popped the question several months ago... Everyone knew that Soonyoung was crazy about you. From the first date where he spilled his drink on you by accident and apologized profusely (he’d almost cried when he did it, actually--but he saved his tears for when he got home) to the moment he came up with all of this, it was clear that Soonyoung wanted you to be as happy as you could.
(He later noticed the way you carefully avoided the two little icing cats. When he asked about it, you pouted at him again. “How am I supposed to eat them if they’re us? That feels wrong.”)
For the rest of the evening, he’d stayed by your side, practically attached to you. He’d missed you, his work trip finally over. He had the next day or so off to rest and recover, which meant time for him to catch up on his “you” time as much as he could. If you didn’t have work, you could have gone with him--although there was a moment where you seriously entertained taking vacation. But you decided to save it for your honeymoon later this year. That was more important in your eyes. In his, too, to be fair.
But the moment the two of you went home, he was on you again. He’d barely dropped his bags off in the bedroom before he turned to you, confessing how badly he’d missed you. When you caught his drift, it led to him hungrily kissing you with plans to take it further.
Instead, he first thought he could still taste buttercream on your lips. He drew back, smiling at you again.
“I love you,” he said again. “I can’t wait to marry you.”
And then he dipped forward again to kiss you again, happy as could be. Today was perfect, because now he was back with you. Right where he felt he belonged.
