Kissing you on the mouth for your Lance son of Hermes take. I didn't even really have an opinion before but after reading your post I'm immediately sold and so invested in the au
Do you have ideas on what the other characters godly parents would be? Hunk with Hephaestus makes sense to me, and I'm a fan of Keith son of Ares (learning to accept his godly dad could match with his arc about accepting he's part galra, a supposedly evil/violent side of him, + the anger and fighting skills), but not sure about the others...
hello!!! I'm glad you see the vision hehe. I actually sent many a paragraph to heynhay about this only yesterday. I was firmly on the son of Ares Keith headcanon but then... someone reblogged my post saying Keith son of Zeus (I think it was @pidges-lost-robot and i was like WAAAAIT.
Okay so here's my many many paragraphs explaining headcanons for each. Shiro son of Zeus: Okay so in my head Shiro & Keith are both sons of Zeus but for very different reasons. They're like Thalia vs Jason types. Shiro is a great leader, he's ambitious, he's brave, he's a legend. His dad is so proud. He's been on like 20 quests and absolutely demolished all of them. All the kids in camp know he's So Cool and Talented. He can be hot headed sometimes but ultimately he's really adept at setting aside his feelings for the Greater Good etc. Ideal hero type and ideal son to the big guy upstairs. Keith son of Zeus: Keith is all the bad traits of Zeus (sorry to him). He's got a short temper, he's impulsive, he's closed off. He's a prodigy without meaning to be. Everyone pays attention to him but (despite what Lance thinks) it's because they think he's a freak, he's not a big three kid the way you're Supposed To Be. And he doesn't want to be a leader. This really rubs Zeus the wrong way. Keith would rather disappear into the ranks of his fellow campers than be the star of the show and that goes against everything children of Zeus are supposed to be. His dad definitely refuses to claim him for a long time which makes Keith just some weird really powerful kid who doesn't know who his godly parent is. Luckily Shiro takes him under his wing : )) (too bad Shiro doesn't come back from his latest quest tho, no one knows where he went off to and Chiron doesn't want to send out a quest because if something kept Shiro The Legend from coming back to camp it must be really bad). Hunk son of Aphrodite: ANOTHER ONE I'M FIRM ABOUT. I think Hunk's defining characteristic is his love for his friends. Hunk is always looking for peaceful ways to solve problems, he's always forming relationships with people before doing anything else, he really values giving love to those around him. It also doesn't hurt that he's kind of squeamish and particular about a lot of things, as a lot of Aphrodite's children are. But I really think his greatest strengths are the ways he's able to relate to others. I know a lot of people say Lance is the glue that holds everyone together, but I think it's Hunk. I know the fanon is that Aphrodite's kids are all just big flirts but I think both Selena and Piper are great examples that that's not true, and Hunk would absolutely be their brother. Pidge daughter of Hephaestus: I've seen some people saying Athena for Pidge but that's another one where I just can't get behind it. Pidge is so smart in so many ways but so stupid in others. She's too impulsive and single minded to be a daughter of Athena, imo. Her main love is figuring out how things work, what makes them tick, and using that knowledge to help those she loves. Children of Hephaestus are know to hold grudges, fight for their families, and let's not forget Hephaestus spending literally all of his free time trying to play pranks on the other Gods with his little contraptions like that is all Pidge would do all day long. Plus she befriends a robot and that is who she talks to for the first like 3 episodes of Voltron that is so unbelievably child of Hephaestus energy. Anyway thank u for asking this question I've been thinking on it for days. I am also open to the idea of Shiro being a son of Athena, I think that would suit him well. And also in my head I like to think Keith would potentially just remain unclaimed until he stomped his way to Mount Olympus and forced whoever was his parent to fess up.

BIOGRAPHY
tw: depression, skewed self image, self imposed expectations
If there was any kid in Hawkins who got doted on, it was Tommy Hagan. The Hagans used their money and time to shower their one and only son with love and all the material items he could want. He was surrounded by everything his grubby little kid hands could touch, all encased in one of the better houses in the town. Maybe they weren’t as well known as the Cunninghams or the Harringtons but Tommy always knew he was fortunate to have what he had.
The constant doting though, didn’t have the best effect on him and with time, Tommy became spoiled -- rotten almost. He felt superior to the other kids in school, called them names, pushed them into the dirt all because he felt like he had a right too. While other kids had absent fathers or lived on the less fortunate side of town, Tommy’s life was privileged (overly so) and he didn’t hesitate to act like it made him important.
He took that mentality all the way to high school, forming a group around him that commanded attention. Steve was the golden boy, the one everyone focused on but if they listened to Steve, they listened to Tommy. It was all good for a while until even that started to fall apart. With his parents on his back and his future jutting toward him, Tommy had to grow up quickly and find a way to reconcile all the awful feelings he had toward just about everyone. It was only until after high school that Tommy changed his ways. He stepped back from whatever plagued him as a kid, the spoiled nature that turned him into a bad apple, and he focused on living his life. He wanted a future, happiness, normal stuff.
So Tommy did what he thought was best. He left. As soon as he graduated, he left behind everything to do with Hawkins and tried to restart his life in Terra Haute. He was a different person when he left -- nicer, calmer, maybe a little bit more sensible but all of that came crashing down when his mom called him, telling him his father was sick and getting worse. If life taught him anything, it was that family always comes first so Tommy didn’t hesitate to pack up his degree, his life and move back home.
It was supposed to be easy. Just settle back into small town life for a few years to take care of his dad, make sure both of his parents were okay, and then get the hell out of dodge but then Calvin Cunningham died and everything went to shit. It was like a giant reset button had been pressed and right alongside Jason, Tommy was finding any excuse to go after those freak hellfire club kids he bullied back in school. That mean teenage boy came out of hiding and wreaked havoc over Eddie Munson, firmly believing him to be responsible. If he thought rationally, Tommy might have told himself it was wrong. He might have stopped instead of instigated but there was no resisting the need for answers.
Even after the earthquake, the loss, and the police trying to tie up loose ends -- Tommy still isn’t convinced that everything is fine in Hawkins. His guard is all the way up, monstrously high, and he bitterly wants to believe that there’s a rational explanation. He can’t let himself believe anything less because that puts his family in danger and he just can’t have that. Not to mention, the less he understands about Hawkins, the less he understands about himself and the constant feelings he hasn’t grappled with. Tommy is okay being the bully for now because anything else seems too hard and too good to be true.

Kaz Brekker/Platonic! Crows x fem! Reader - Silence
A/n: So I know I haven't been very active lately but hopefully that will change! Also I don't really love this fic it's not very good and I might rewrite it in the future but for now, you guys can enjoy this shit!!!
Warnings: Abuse, sexual abuse, rape, violence, mentions of death, technically mentions of suicide, THIS FIC IS A MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING!!!!
Summary: They used to be happy. That’s what Jesper says anyways about his sister. When he’s asked where it all went wrong it’s usually responded with an I have no idea. When Kaz comes to confront them in front of the Crows why you came back all bloodied and carrying back a body, they know this isn’t going to end well…
Tumblr media
Death clung to you. That's what people muttered in the streets of Ketterdam, 'if the Blackbird is on a strike don't go outside for a week and remember, pray to the saint who wears the most colour.'
Great bedtime stories for children.
Your legend would never end, though it must have begun somewhere. Someone who you decided could witness one of your killings must have made up a story. Started it up and told it in fright to someone and the people not believing a word they say. Before their dead of course. And then it spreads like the plague.
The Blackbird was once a hopeful girl, full of dreams and happiness. She had beautiful feathers of all different kinds of colours, and they sang to the heavens and it was as if she was a child of the saints. Then one day - the bird that brought kindness and sunshine to everyone's lives fell into a trap.
There was a hyena that people all thought was bad news but she thought she could help him become a better person.
The little birdy was wrong.
He hurt the bird of colours so badly that one day he burned her feathers and they became pitch black. The hyena thought that he had won at last and had gotten power over the bird.
It was said that she ran and escaped the terrible beast that day. And because he had changed her to the very soul she wasn't the same anymore, no. She was only used for revenge, and it was said she turned her backs on the saints for not saving her. When the saints did decide to intervene the little bird was shattered and could no longer sing. Her voice reduced to a vengeful whip, it was no longer beautiful but fearsome.
It was said that on that night the Blackbird used her wings on Ketterdam so she could cover the sky in darkness so the stars in the sky, the only things the saints could use to watch over mankind was blindfolded in a merciless fog.
And there the Blackbird was born.
Maybe death clung to you, but not the same way that trauma and the cruelness of the world does.
And that's a fate worse than death.
You remember strike one, you and Jesper were kids - happy kids. And the neighbour's son of was considerably older than both of you offered to babysit the one time your Da, and Ma was out.
Jesper was playing in the back, perhaps practicing shooting so he could impress your Mum but you stayed inside saying something along the lines that you wanted to cook some cookies for Dad.
How you wished you hadn't.
That teenage boy had put his filthy little hands on you. He left you in the kitchen tears running down your face and bile that you had to force back down your throat.
Your mother had found you like that and she instantly knew what had happened and she made everything much more bearable. When you had nightmares you would get up and knock on her door quietly enough for her just to hear and because your Ma was a light sleeper but your Da was not, she would get up and see you alright.
The poor woman never told her husband because you had pleaded with her not to. She always did blame herself and she made sure the boy never came around again but she did thank the saints that he didn't go all the way.
She wasn't sunshine, (she always said that was you!) No, she was the faint moonlight in the distance that helped guide you on your way home.
Then she died.
Strike two, was your mother dying. You remember that day where she went to take the poison out of that child and when she did she sucked it back into herself. In your arms was the last place your Ma took her last breath.
That was the day the world had lost its guide home and it always seemed to be in peril after that.
Strike three came almost immediately after strike two. Your father wouldn't talk to you. You became a ghost in your own house, you understood your father though,
she did die in your arms.
Jesper was the only one that didn't make strike three the last strike where the rope was at its point and snapped. He was your armour against the world, with his funny quirks and quips. He was the older brother you needed in those moments.
But armour slowly breaks over time and your dear brother wasn't getting enough out of life at the farm. So when your Father sent Jesper to Ketterdam you went right with him.
You attended college for a bit but eventually, your armour had finally left you. It broke under the stress of everything in his life that he couldn't keep up with yours.
So you meant him.
He was kind but knew when the world was being too cruel. He was wealthy, but not rich. He was sweet, but not puke up rainbows kind of way. He knew you like the back of his hand and always knew how to comfort you. Jesper had actually meant him once before he got too busy with the Dregs and said maybe he knew you too well.
You yelled at him at the time and said that was absurd! He would never do anything to hurt you!
Strike four was falling under his spell.
Strike five was when he told you terrible things about yourself and you thought he was always right. He could do no wrong in your eyes.
Strike six was when he finally started beating you and you had just expected it at this point.
Strike seven was when you weren't allowed to go to school anymore.
Strike eight was when he wouldn't let you see anyone, not even your brother. But you never questioned it, he was basically a saint to you, why would you? Besides Jesper never seemed to have time for you anyways.
Strike nine was when he cheated on you and told you you had to be better.
Strike ten was when he started raping you.
Then one day he was worse than usual and you grabbed the hot poker from the fire pit, that he had used to beat you before, and you had told him to stay away.
Then you ran.
It was the straw the broke the camel's back, it was the saints giving up on him or maybe it was the saints giving up on you.
You didn't care, you were free.
You made one promise that day, that you would never love again.
You learned quickly what Ketterdam was like even before you had meant him, so perhaps that was why it was so easy to become the Blackbird. The girl who never smiled, the girl who only lived only for revenge. The monster that will wipe your existence off of the earth like it was nothing. The ghost that will haunt you when your sins line up too high.
Eventually, you joined the dregs and you connected with your brother once again and he knew something was wrong the moment he felt your presence. He didn't believe you were the Blackbird, the girl who terrorized the streets of Ketterdam.
But he learned to accept it, they all did except for that blasted Brekker boy.
With your time in the Dregs, you had slowly begun to form something with Kaz but you quickly remembered your promise to yourself and you let him go.
Although you don't like to admit it, the Crows had become your friends - family even. You would do anything to protect them even though it didn't seem like it. You were you though, and that was being afraid to even semi-connect with them. Of course, you were, because you were growing a bit too fond of Kaz Brekker and last time that lead you to a fate worse than death.
So you distanced yourself for a while to recollect your thoughts and if you really wanted to stay with them. Did they ever manipulate you? No. Then you came back and you stayed, maybe you weren't the perfect friend or a very good one at all but the Crows knew you even considering to stay was a blessing all in itself.
They were always so patient with you even Kaz, especially Kaz, and you never gave anything in return to them. Guilt would often cloud your mind when you were near them but they were always so amazing something you could never be.
But one day they came to their breaking point.
Killing people wasn't anything new for them, much less you killing people but coming back with a bloodied body and losing contact with them for weeks was probably not the same as just 'killing.'
Jesper pulls you by your bicep into Kaz's office with the other Crows following behind. You stumble in as Kaz slams the door shut being the last one in the room. They stare at you with beady eyes almost like the ones on the infamous birds around the Slat.
"What the fuck Y/n!" Jesper finally yells. Everyone around doesn't even bother to tell him to lower his voice their faces held the same anger that Jes's did.
Silence drowns you in its ocean keeping you in its waters. A chain is wrapped around your throat as you sink deeper and deeper into its depths. You try and swim away, run like you always had before, but the weight around your neck is too heavy, too dense and it slowly drowns you.
You just shrugged your shoulders. How could you explain all that you went through? Why would you want to?
"We can't just brush this off Y/n, we always do, but you crossed a line," Wylan states calmly but firmly at the same time putting a hand on his boyfriend's shoulder trying to ease the tension in the room.
You laugh, you hadn't even been walking a line at all. No, you had been jumping from rooftop to rooftop as they created a chalk line at how far you could go. Balling your hands into fits you snarl, they have been keeping you back. Maybe it's a good thing but you didn't want to admit it.
What about Kaz? A voice whispers in the back of your head.
Your eyes travel to his form in the back. He's leaning on the wall slightly but also using his cane to make himself look up-right. The darkness in the back compliments his angular features making them stand out as if saying he was above you. And to most people he probably was and he deserved that position.
But it didn't matter to you, he was just Kaz to you. Even if you saw him as someone... Important in your life, nevertheless he didn't matter. He was just another powerful man drawing a line that you couldn't cross as the line became smaller and smaller till you were trapped against a wall with nowhere to go.
When you first became the Blackbird, you climbed up that wall, you knew what was going to happen next. And you would never let anyone do that to you again.
"If you think I crossed the 'line' then your wrong." Your voice started out light-hearted (never does a fake smile crawl on your face though) but slowly became menacing and terrifying.
You spin of your heels turning to Jesper. "You've kept me in a cage giving me freedom but always locking me back up in the night."
You turn to Wylan and you mock his voice from earlier. "It was only a matter of time before I would break out." Your eyes lock onto Kaz's and your voice softens while you look at him.
"You knew it was going to happen sooner rather than later. A bird needs to stretch its wings somehow."
"That doesn't mean you get to cut off communication with us for weeks than bringing in a body all bloodied. What you said before doesn't even explain why you did that Y/n," Inej says quietly.
You growl and the people closest to you jump back a little.
"Oh, what are you going to do, kick me out? Half of your businesses wouldn't have even succeeded without me!"
Jesper balls his hands into fists. "Gee for fuck's sake Y/n would just tell us!"
"HE'S THE REASON I'M A MONSTER!"
Your shout makes everyone freeze in their place and there it is again. The overbearing silence that takes over everything with its darkness. Running threw out the room, swirling around you and making it impossible for you to even hear anything other than your own terrible thoughts of madness.
But one voice isn't in your head of that hyena howling at you no, it's real and you can hear it among the darkness. You close your eyes listening in and hearing something other than darkness.
"Y/n." Your eyes snap open and you meet Kaz's eyes and you feel something dangerously close to relief.
"Everyone else out."
The Crows file out of the room one by one following Kaz's order. Everyone leaves but Jesper hesitates at the door and you see your broken armour trying to come back to you again and although it's harsh he wasn't there when he should have been. You understood that he had other problems he needed to sort out but you were his little sister.
You were supposed to stick up for each other.
"Out." Your voice would sound cold to anyone else but to Jesper, it sounds tired and unhappy. Lonely also however it has a hit of love and revenge as well.
The taller brother just sighs though and close's the door.
Kaz's eyes meet yours and your hands start to fidget with the cuffs of your bloodied shirt.
He doesn't say anything, he just stares at you. Willing you to spill information with just a glance. Any God would fall prey to those eyes and they would disclose all their knowledge while also thanking him in the end.
Kaz Brekker had something more powerful than Godly power over you.
So you couldn't help but tell him the real more dark story behind the Blackbird, he had already told you his so maybe, just maybe you could trust him.
"Do you know the Story of the Blackbird?" Your voice rings out against the muteness of the room fighting against it for once in your miserable life.
Kaz nods his head showing you that he knew. Of course, he knew it, was Brekker he probably knows every single version by heart.
"And I assume you know it's about me?"
Rolling his eyes but nodding once again.
You hesitate, knowing that after this you couldn't go back. That these next few words could change everything and why are you even telling this to the bastard of the barrel?
Because you love him.
It's simple and you promised yourself you would never love again but possibly that promise wasn't real because perhaps you never really loved that hyena. Some form of peace has definitely come from killing him, but maybe there's more to moving on from trauma than just revenge.
So with those thoughts in mind, the words tumble out of your mouth and you wouldn't be able to stop them even if you tried.
"Around the time where Jesper was just starting in the Dregs I had gotten a boyfriend. He was... Well, he was the perfect boyfriend but looking back he was too perfect. Basically fake, he was a manipulator and he knew me like the back of his hand. He knew where to press and I was under the impression that he could do nothing wrong." You pause to take a breath but you don't look up from your spot on the floor.
"It started with the small things like little insults thrown my way, but then it grew into bigger things like calling me a slut and what not. I wasn't even surprised when he started beating me."
Your eyes slowly come off the floor and they travel up Kaz's body but never meeting his eyes. You didn't want to see the disappointment that would be held in those eyes. That was inevitable.
"Then every day it started to get worse till he-" You cut yourself off and your legs wobble underneath you and as you collapsed Kaz jetted out and caught you before you could fall.
Tears were running down your face as you gripped Kaz's shirt as he picked you up bridal style and carried you over to the bed. He place's you down and slides in beside you yet there was a good distance between the two of you. But it still gave you comfort and for the first time in a while, you didn't question why it did, you just went with it already knowing the reason why.
You loved him it was as simple as that.
"Then he-" You choked on a sob again and you bring your knees to your chest.
"You don't have to say it." He says gently nothing like what that hyena used to do to you.
"Noah used to rape me." The words come out in a blur and the tight feeling in your chest slowly falls apart and for the first time in a while, you truly feel like a Blackbird - free. Stuttering to breathe in a realization comes to your mind; Noah that monster will never hurt you ever again.
"Oh, my Saints! He's dead!" You cover your mouth with your hand and you lean back onto the headboard tears of happiness smear down your face. You don't laugh though but you feel even clearer than before. You could get used to this feeling.
Slowly you look over to Kaz and you realize the two of you were broken souls beyond repair and maybe just maybe that's what you needed. Perhaps that's what you both need, each other.
"Thank you." You whisper and the ends of Kaz's mouth curl's up a bit into what looks like is almost a smile but not quite. You would get there too one day.
===========TIME SKIP 4 Months======================
You jump from the rooftop gliding through the air and landing on the window sill of Kaz's office. You tilt your head to the side affectionately as you see The Crows getting ready for a heist only they're really just fooling around. Everyone but Kaz of course, he's in his desk chair drawing out some maps.
And they tell you you overwork! Hypocrites.
You open the window silently and you slip into the room unnoticed. You tiptoe over to Kaz's desk and you leap on top.
Kaz raises his eyebrow at you and you just shrug your shoulders, he probably had to stop anyways.
"You know there are other ways to get my attention other than acting like a child?"
"Oh, I know this is just more effective." You playfully respond.
Before Kaz could continue with the banter Jesper interject's just realizing you were here grabbing everyone's attention and placing it on you. Still not a fan of that.
"How the hell did you get from that rooftop to that window!" Jesper points outside in a slightly worried, big brother voice.
So you look him dead in the eyes and say; "I flew."
Jesper laughs along with the rest of The Crows but they stop at your deadpan look on your face.
"You didn't really?!"
"No, I didn't." You roll your eyes, "I didn't even think you knew that I did that."
Jesper comes over and wraps an arm around your shoulders and you immediately tense up.
"I do know some tricks! I am your older brother after all." His tone does get a few octaves of sombre at the end remembering the memories of how he didn't protect you before. But he's here now so you guess that's all matter's now.
You scoot off the desk out of his arm range but you do send him a sorry glance. The memories were just too much to handle sometimes. He just sends me a tiny knowing smile and nods and walk's off quietly (for the first time in his life) over to Wylan.
You watch everyone interact and it almost brings a smile to your face but something is missing and you wonder what it is.
Your question is quickly answered though as Kaz stands up beside you. His ungloved hand slowly garb's onto yours's and slowly you intertwine your fingers together.
"You really are the leader of a bunch of idiots." You say as Nina dares your brother to down a whole bucket paint.
"Yes, that's what it seems."
"But we love them." And for the first time in a while, you smile and it's not full-blown, it's tiny yet it has the whole galaxy in there.
"Yes, Yes I do." But Kaz isn't looking at The Crows he's looking at you.

SUMMARY: in which the universe gives you five quite obvious signs that you should be dating your best friend, but who said it was going to be that easy?
⇒ part of the five days a week special.
Tumblr media
#ONE. you met as little kids by fate.
(or so that’s what you liked to say.)
It was always a pleasant memory to reflect back on when you met your best friend of more than 10 years, huang renjun. You were two peas in a pod, there was never one without the other. Even now, many, many years later where you’re simply two best friends attending college together, barely getting by each day, you never fail to tell the tale to others with a sparkle in your eyes, a fond look on your face.
Back then, little five-year-old you didn’t have to worry about your studies, your bills, your life. Things were a lot simpler.
The only thing you had to worry about was the other kids at the playground. Your mother was chatting away with the other moms, only checking up on your existence every once in a while when she occasionally remembered.
Then (and to this day, you still remember what happened so vividly) lee haechan -that little son of a gun- made some stupid remark about your hair, and what else would a five-year-old do but cry?
And when none of the other kids did anything, only laughing and giggling with a cocky little haechan in the middle of them, you cried even harder, getting up and running away from this horrible place.
You weren’t really sure where your tiny legs took you, but you continued your escape, tears blurring your vision.
When you finally came to your senses, finally stopped crying, and only left with the sniffles, is when you properly looked at your surroundings.
It was suddenly much darker outside, the sun already disappearing and stars preparing for their entrance. And you found yourself in a dark alley, tall, looming walls trapping you on either side.
It was empty and deserted, and you felt the solidarity closing in around you.
Unsure what to do, you kept going on, walking down the dark and dangerous alleyway, scared and afraid.
You called for your mom and dad.
Once. Twice.
Nothing.
The tears started back up. A sudden noise- until now, you’re still not sure what it was, maybe a rat?- startled you, and then the fear really began to set in again.
You sat down in the middle of the alleyway, shaking and scrunching your face up in despair.
Then a crunch sounded from behind you, and you spun around frantically, eyes glittering with unshed tears.
It’s not what you expected.
You didn’t expect another kid to be looking back at you. And a completely unfamiliar one at that too.
He stared down at you, an unreadable expression on his face. The boy looked around the same age as you, give or take.
But how did he also get here?
You finally spoke up, voice small. “H-how did you find me?”
He sighed, shrugging and kicking the ground with his foot. “I’m not sure. I just moved to this city so I wandered around. and then I forgot where I was and ended up here.”
You wiped away your tears. “So you’re lost too?”
He simply nods.
“I-I don’t know how I ended up here. I was just at the playground.....” New tears formed at the corner of your eyes as a pout began to settle on your lips.
The boy huffed. “Crying isn’t going to do anything.”
There’s a silence. Which was followed by increasing sniffles.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry! Please don’t cry.” He grimaced, looking around.
“Don’t worry, I’ll find us a way out of here.”
“How?” You wailed.
“Well... I actually don’t know....”
You cried out for your mom again, sitting on the cold, hard ground.
The boy panicked, scratching his head. “Here, uhh, what’s your name?”
You managed to say your name between sucks of breath.
“Here, y/n.” His voice was smooth and soft, comforting. He squatted down next to you, hand holding out an unfamiliarly shaped object.
“What is that?”
“Candy. From my old home. And it’s really yummy.”
“But,” he continued, “you can only have it if you promise to stop crying and come with me.”
You immediately sat up straight, wiping away the wetness again for the nth time. “I promise.”
He smiled and unwrapped it for you, placing it in your palm. You quickly placed it in your mouth, enjoying the tangy taste flooding your senses. You giggled, looking back up at the boy.
He got up from his knees, holding a hand out and beaming at you.
“Don’t worry. I’ll protect you.”
“But.....” you trailed off, instead opting to just take his tiny hand.
You never forgot the gleaming look in his eyes as he pulled you along, warm hand wrapped around yours. You never forgot the blanket of safety and security you felt, just by being at his side.
And when your parents found you two soon after with the police, scared and worried to death, you realized you never asked his name before they took you away to the safety of your home.
But there was no need.
Four days later at school, your teacher introduced a new student to your class.
You immediately sat up straight in your chair once you got a good look at who it was.
It was him. The voice, speech, -everything was the same.
“My name is Huang Renjun.”
You echoed his name in your head, wishing to store it safely in the depths of your heart. And when the teacher gestured for him to join the rest of your class, you eagerly got up-the first one might you add-walking over and holding out your hand with a toothy smile.
“Nice to meet you, Huang Renjeon!”
“It’s renjun!” he immediately snapped.
Your face fell.
Renjun sighed, taking your still extended hand.
“Nice to meet you too, I guess....”
And from then on, you would’ve never guessed how much he would mean to you in the years to come.
Tumblr media
#TWO. you guys somehow have the same interests and hobbies.
Coincidence, perhaps? Or a sign?
You both found out pretty early on that you shared a lot of common interests- drawing, singing, whatever you did, Renjun did too. Well, maybe all interests and hobbies except for one of your newly developed ones.
Renjun has no clue when it started, perhaps it was right after school started back up again? Or maybe after thanksgiving break?
Either way, your new hobby was getting on his nerves.
If your best friend suddenly started setting you up with random girls, wouldn’t you be a tad annoyed too?
Yes, sometime in the first half of school-Renjun couldn’t help but shudder- you started playing matchmaker.
“Instead of bothering me, you should get a girlfriend or a boyfriend,” you insisted. And he declined.
Renjun couldn’t help but wonder what brought this on. You had never done anything quite like this before, it was utterly confusing.
When he asked, you simply stated something along the lines of-
“In all my years of knowing you, I’ve never seen you have a crush or been romantically interested in anyone.” (He rolled his eyes at that.) “It’s like a fun quest... I’m on a mission to find you a compatible partner!” (He double rolled his eyes at that.)
And today was no different.
Renjun pushes the door out from your shared art class, holding it open for you.
He checks the time with his other free hand. “Do you wanna go to the coffee shop down the street? I know your test isn’t for another two days.”
You grimace, walking along the sidewalk next to him. “I don’t know, I still feel like I don’t understand anything at all....”
Renjun squeezes your hand, which you didn’t even realize had grabbed yours. “Come on, y/n. You need to take a break. I can help you cram tomorrow.”
You scrunch your face in disbelief. “Really?”
Renjun blinks twice, a sure sign that you quickly picked up on when you were younger that he was, to be frank, straight-up lying in your face.
“Of course.”
You scoff, head tilting to the side for a couple of seconds before focusing on him again with a smirk on your face, a lightbulb going off in your brain. Renjun silently gulps.
“I’ll go with you if you go out on a date with my new friend.”
As soon as the words leave your mouth, he groans, stomping his foot and running a hand through his hair in frustration. “Again with the dating? You’ve set me up on at least seven- and none of them have worked out!”
“Yeah, and because of who?” you mutter under your breath.
“What?”
Your head snaps up, and you quickly shoot a smile to appease him.
“Nothing, I promise you’ll like her. Even though we just met, she’s super nice- she’s into the whole alien conspiracy too!”
Renjun’s eyes bore into yours, unmoving. He tries his best not to break- no matter how hard it may seem.
“Please?” You pout, bringing your face closer and closer to his.
He fakes a disgusted look, although the reddening of his ears says otherwise. Letting out a sound of protest, he skillfully avoids your intense gaze. “Alright, alright! Geez, if it makes you happy then I’ll do it.....”
You laugh in success, a bright, clear sound that rings through renjun’s body, before taking his hand and dragging him along down the street.
“He can just come home and stay with us!” Your mother’s voice filters through the phone from the other end, insistent and no-nonsense tone making you sigh and your voice come out hesitantly.
“But mom.....” you bite your lip, spinning in your chair in circles, a perfect representation of how you currently felt.
Her indignant voice cuts back in. “What’s wrong with renjun living with us for the break? He’s practically family!!”
There’s a pause.
“Why? Did you two fight? Or do you not like him anymore?”
You sit up rigid in your chair. “What?! No- it’s nothing like that...”
“Well, then tell him he’s free to come and stay at our house.”
You grumble in defeat, saying a half-hearted goodbye before hanging up the phone.
Don’t take this the wrong way, you would love for Renjun to live with you and your parents for spring break- especially after he revealed he couldn’t go back home to his parent's place that was like at least a 4-hour drive- but that meant seeing him every day.
And seeing him every day meant you basically had every chance to tell him- something you’ve been hiding from your best friend for months now.
It definitely wasn’t easy keeping a secret from renjun- your best friend who knows almost everything about you, but you would say it was a pretty big and important decision.
Not to mention the fact that it would completely alter your whole relationship with him.
“Renjun!!!!” Your mom practically squeals, engulfing him in a tight hug. You watch from the side, unamused.
“What about your own child?”
She rolls her eyes, ushering the both of you into the brightly lit house.
Renjun drags his suitcase past the threshold, taking in the view of the familiar house that he hasn’t seen in so long, or that hasn’t changed one bit either.
“You can stay in y/n’s room, right?”
You jolt upward, two heads turning to your mother with wide eyes and dropped opened mouths. “What?”
Your mother crosses her arms. “What? I thought you two slept in the same room all the time?”
“When we were younger....” Renjun mumbles.
“You guys have been best friends for so long and you suddenly can’t share a room?”
You pinch your nose bridge, puffing out a breath of frustration. “Alright, alright, Renjun can stay in my room.”
You lead the way up to your bedroom, pushing open the door slowly. You’re not sure what to expect- nothing’s really changed after all. Renjun smiles at the sudden wave of memories washing over him, all your old photos and things kept in your room still in the exact places.
“It’s the same.”
You nod, laughing softly. “Yeah, you think I underwent a dramatic transformation or something? Not under your watch.”
You walk over to a middle school photo of you two, the cringey phase still not set in yet, laughing and giggling at the youthful versions of you.
You make a quick joke at your awkward hairstyle back then, turning to catch renjun’s reaction.
He stares at you with a soft smile and a hidden, deeper meaning shining through his eyes, and it catches you off guard.
When he finally notices the sudden change in the air, snapping out his daze, your mother’s voice cuts through the silence, a commanding shout calling the both of you down for dinner.
You decide to clear your throat, stiffly gesturing for him towards the door so you two can go down to eat. You don’t mention it, and neither does Renjun.
After dinner, which was just formalities and boring catch-up, you decided to head up back to your room to get ready for bed.
You collapse on your bed with a sigh, feeling content with a full belly after stuffing your face with home-cooked meals as Renjun stands awkwardly to the side.
“If you want... I can sleep on the ground. Your mom gave me blankets and pillows so- uh, yeah.”
Your eyes fly open, staring at the ceiling conflictedly.
“I guess so.”
There’s a painful silence as you get ready for bed.
Renjun sets up a temporary makeshift mattress on the ground, muttering a quiet goodnight as you flick off the light switch.
Then it’s dark. And you can’t sleep.
It’s been perhaps 10 minutes since you turned the lights off? And there’s not a single inch of sleep in your body.
Your body keeps tossing and turning, mind wandering off to unimportant (read: very important) things. Like your best friend sleeping on the cold, hard ground.
And suddenly you can’t take it anymore. You let out a loud huff, sitting up in bed in a ruckus.
You stare at the dark figure on the floor, now alarmed, and turned around at the sound of your outburst, staring back up at you in the dark with a curious look.
You roll your eyes, scooting over to make room in the spacious bed for one person -and just barely enough for two.
“You thought I was really gonna let you sleep on the ground?”
“Huh?”
You don’t say anything, just patting the space next to you.
“Get over here.”
He waits for a second before hesitantly and slowly getting up, like frightened prey in front of their predator.
You open the covers, welcoming Renjun in with a more content sigh, already feeling warmer and suddenly sleepy. It's a tight squeeze for the both of you, but it just feels right.
On the other hand, Renjun wills his body to relax. He marvels at how you seem so calm and nonchalant sharing your bed with him.
To renjun, sharing a bed was a memento of your trust. It was you at your most vulnerable, and still, you were comfortable with letting him in- even if you used to do it all the time when you were younger.
“Goodnight, renjun.”
He swallows. “Goodnight.”
And when he confirms that you’re asleep, the only sign of movement was through the slow rise and fall of your body, renjun finally whispers the one, two, three words before joining you in dreamland - the truth inside him, the truth that’s practically killing him.
Your mom places a plate full of tangerines on the table for you and Renjun, the bright, appetizing fruits gleaming in front of you.
You stare at the plate, not moving, even when Renjun picks up one for himself and starts peeling.
Your mom frowns. “Why aren’t you eating one, y/n?”
You shrug, placing an elbow on the table for your chin to rest on. But before you can say anything, a hand appears in front of your face.
You blink, a neatly peeled tangerine suddenly comes into focus, held out in front of you.
Your head whips to the side. Renjun rolls his eyes, nudging the tangerine closer towards you.
“Just take it. I know you’re too lazy to peel your own anyways.”
You suddenly feel warm under the gaze of your mom, taking the fruit from him with a small thanks.
“You guys are so cute.”
You raise an eyebrow.
Renjun and you share a look, turning back towards your mom. It wasn’t strange for her to say something like that- she always made those kinds of comments about you two, but the way your mom said it this time seemed.... different. like it held much more meaning to it.
“What do you mean?”
She suddenly laughs, shaking her head with a content sigh.
“Nothing. It’s just a shame you have to leave us so soon. You’re really gonna miss them, aren’t you renjun?”
He stops chewing immediately.
“What?”
Your chair moves out from under you with an abrupt, harsh screech as you stand up with wide and panicked eyes, chest heaving.
Renjun gets up as well, boring holes into you with an intense and confused stare. “What is your mom talking about, y/n?”
You’re not sure what to do, your heart thundering and blood rushing in your ears as you glance, conflicted, between your mom and Renjun.
You catch her raising a hand to her mouth, shocked but still bewildered. “You didn’t tell him?”
Renjun’s eyes never left you once. “Tell me what, y/n?”
You wish you could’ve said that you sat back down calmly and explained everything to Renjun- everything you’ve been hiding from him.
Instead, you can only cringe as your legs move on their own accord and take you blasting out from your house in an escape.
In other words, running away from your feelings.
Until somehow, you find yourself at the local library, bursting through the doors without a single regard for the closing time and signs decorating the doors.
All you needed was to escape.
But renjun would never let you do that.
You hear his footsteps echoing yours, attempting to keep up with your furious pace.
“Y/n-stop running from me!”
You don’t say anything, ignoring his words and pushing past the countless bookshelves.
Until you reach a dead-end, the books staring back at you almost tauntingly.
“Y/n.” His voice echoes from behind you.
“Please look at me.”
You clench your fists, attempting to breathe in and out steadily, but your voice still comes out small and strained. “What if I don’t want to?”
“Please... for me?”
You curse your best friend- you could never resist him.
Slowly and reluctantly, you turn around to face Renjun.
He states at you, so concerned and almost hurt, it makes your heart clench. “Y/n...”
You close your eyes, inhaling and exhaling once more. “You’re right. I should explain. But first, I think we should go to a more appropriate place...” you mumble.
Keeping his mouth shut, Renjun tersely nods and attempts to open the door. (Note: attempts)
#THREE. you somehow get locked in a library together. alone.
Renjun groans, falling back on the ground with a thud. His previous attempts to get the door open failed- obviously.
How could you be such an idiot to forget that the library closed at 6pm? Which was around the same time you- in a flurry of emotions- ran past the doors with Renjun hot on your trails.
And that was probably how the automatic doors locked right as the clock struck 12, meaning your fate was completely sealed in.
You slump to the ground, hopeless with no phone or any way to contact help since you ran away in such a rush.
Your voice comes out dead, monotone. “Give up renjun. No one is going to find us until the library opens back up in the morning...”
He gives one last shove, one last fruitless attempt before making his way over and collapsing on the ground next to you.
A tense silence falls over the room.
Renjun waits patiently. He tries, gives it at least a couple of minutes before he can’t take it anymore, and calls your name out again.
You bite your lip, knowing this was inevitable.
Taking a deep breath, you start quietly, already knowing exactly what he wanted, and so rightfully deserved.
An explanation.
“Basically... I applied and got into a program overseas that I really wanted. Which means in the summer, I’ll be leaving for at least a year.”
“Or maybe even longer if it goes well,” you lamely add.
He waits for a beat.
“That’s all. I would’ve told you earlier, but I didn’t know how long I would stay and... I didn’t know how to bring it up to you.” You whisper guiltily, fiddling with your hands and knees brought up to your chest, head bowed.
Renjun feels numb.
Is this normal?
Is it normal to feel this way?
Because the only thought running through his head is- how will he even be able to live without you? Without seeing your cute face at least once a day- or making random jokes to make you burst laughing or that only the two of you understand?
Your smiling and cheerful face brightening up his day? Your jokes and quirky banter that always keeps him on his toes? You, who’s always been by his side since you were little kids playing tag on the playground?
He can’t help but wonder, barely finding the words.
“....then what was all the setting me up with random people all about? Why do that when you’re about to leave me behind without even saying a single word?”
You inhale, voice small.
“I wanted to find you someone else like a partner so that you wouldn’t be lonely without me-“
“I wanted to find you someone who could keep you company so you wouldn’t be thinking about me too much. I didn’t want you to be lonely.” you say, voice cracking.
What you truly and honestly meant was-
I don’t want to see you move on from me and forget me while I’m thousands of miles away. So instead, I went ahead and tried to find a good person to take care of you, one that I believe is best for you.
Or in other words, I didn’t want to get my heart broken by huang renjun, so I went ahead and did it on my own.
Your eyes blink back unshed tears, not understanding why it hurts so much to think about your best friend with someone else, why you don’t want to give him up so easily.
Them living the life that you never knew you wanted with renjun.
I want you to find someone who cares for you and needs you the way I wish I could-
who loves you the way I wish I could.
“That’s why I tried to pair you up with a good person- someone who wants you as much as you want them.”
You exhale shakily, trying to avoid eye contact or catch renjun’s reaction.
“But what if they’re never going to be who I want?”
You hesitate, confused and wondering if you misheard him.
“W-what?”
He finally gets the chance, and the sudden confidence to say what he's always wanted to say. What he's been too much of a coward to admit before.
“I love you.”
“And anyone else you try to match me up will never be enough because I only want you,” he continues.
You can barely speak up. “Huh?”
He doesn’t respond, only coming closer with his eyes full of unspoken emotions, forcing you to stare back with your glimmering ones. You swallow, confused at what he’s doing but weirdly entranced, simply watching as he brings a hand to tilt your chin up.
Renjun asks silently with his eyes, a question to confirm that you’re comfortable - that this is okay and what you want.
You nod, barely a perceptible one but it’s enough for him.
#FOUR. he kisses you.
Your eyes widen, body stiffening. And then Renjun quickly pulls back, worried at your lack of a reaction.
You don’t give him a chance to say anything though, as you pull him back in by the shirt, properly expressing your emotions this time through your lips.
And he gets it, reciprocating with every part of his body.
It feels so right.
This must be it.
You like your best friend. No, you’re in love with your best friend, even if you knew it before or not.
Eventually, you were able to talk it out and come to an understanding. (as well as escape by calling out for help and getting an unsuspecting passerby to dial for help.)
The next months spent with him were the best days of your life. It was spent exploring new feelings, new experiences that were different from before, living your life to the fullest with your loved ones, and counting down the days until you had to leave.
You talked about long distance. And the difficulties that came with it.
But in the end, there’s an unspoken understanding between you two.
Until the day finally comes. The day of your flight across the world. The day you leave it all behind.
Your parents already shed their tears the day and night before- including today. You give them one last hug, enjoying the safety of their embrace one last time, before pulling away to face your best friend.
Your best friend, your boyfriend, your lover, the one person in the world that means everything to you. Your renjun.
You smile, tears brimming your eyes as he engulfs you in his warmth.
“I promise I won’t ever forget you.”
“I hope not,” he jokingly whispers back and you hit him softly.
Just slightly pulling back, noses barely touching, he stares at you with adoration evident in his eyes.
“I promise I’ll always love you. One day.”
You echo his words.
“But you know,” you start teasingly, “I could just mess it up and then come back quickly-“
He squeezes you. “If you did that then I would personally go over to where you were and break up with you,” he threatens.
Rolling your red eyes, you add, “ don’t start getting over me and dating others too soon.” He shakes his head playfully, eyes brimming with tears that were just waiting to overflow.
“I love you, huang renjun.”
“I love you and always will, y/n y/l/n.” He whispers back.
One last hug, one last kiss before you’re released.
And with that, you’re in the car on the way to the airport, taking off with his heart.
This is it. You’re going away.
Away from your loved ones, and away from your home.
Tumblr media
#FIVE. you find your way back.
You originally planned to keep this a secret, but overexcitement led you to spill the beans to your parents.
But you desperately pleaded with them to keep it a secret from everyone else (meaning- your best friend)
The overseas program was wonderful- a great experience that you never regretted accepting, and you learned a lot.
You learned a lot about what you missed back home, and what you really needed.
It was a good choice. Maybe even the right choice- as it made you discover your true self and priorities.
Still, it was horribly difficult to communicate with others because of the time difference, work, and busy schedules, all of which you already expected. But you finished strong, and now you were finally able to return after 2 years.
The excitement courses through you, you can barely make it out of the car and back to your house.
As much as you want to see renjun, your mother makes you visit your close friends and neighbors to inform them of your return.
And at the same time, you feel anxiousness and nervousness brewing in your stomach. All the worst doubts and possibilities ring through your head-
What if he doesn’t want to see you?
What if he moved on?
What if he isn’t..... your best friend anymore?
Nonetheless, you head out, and after a few stops, you can’t help but drive to your former college, hoping for a chance to see renjun.
You had no idea what his schedule was like- if he still even attended this college, but there was something in you that desperately hoped he was indeed here.
Brushing past unfamiliar people, most probably underclassmen that you had no interest in, you walk around the old campus, all the places still the same to you.
You smile when your eyes fall upon the building where your shared art class with renjun was, the best memories spent together coming back. But what you didn’t expect was to catch onto a pair of very familiar and recognizable eyes.
Ones that locked immediately onto yours.
You can’t resist breaking out into a wide smile from cheek to cheek, hand raising up in a greeting.
Renjun can’t help but break into an elated grin, stopping in his tracks.
Even when he was more than 10 feet away- with what seemed like a hundred other students passing in between, it felt like there was nothing in between you anymore, nothing blocking your path to each other. Sure it’s been two years, but it doesn’t feel like anything’s changed.
He lifts his arm, grip tightening on his bag as he returns a wave with his other hand.
And it truly hits him. You’re here, you’re back, and you wouldn’t want it any other way.
You found your way back home.

different communications - sterek edition
so I’ve been stuck in my house for a year now and it’s weird to not communicate with people in a different way than before. mostly thro social media, texting & video calls. so heres some other forms of communications in sterek fics. enjoy & be safe <3
letter writing tag:
Just to See You Again by MellytheHun (9/9 | 14,950 | NC17)
A sterek college!AU where writing student Stiles specializes in love letters, runs a blog about it and can be commissioned to write love letters on behalf of lovers who are at a loss for words.
He makes some cash, he’s good at what he does (especially when he gets to be a little more explicit in his letters), it pays for his textbooks and that’s all he’s really looking for and life is fine. That is, until someone anonymously commissions him to write a love letter to mathematics student, Derek Hale.
With Warmest Regards (Affectionately Yours) by asocialfauxpas (fuzzytomato) (1/1 | 5,920 |  R)
House Hale and House Stilinski form an alliance through the betrothal of Prince Derek and Prince Stiles. Having only met once before, they write letters to get to know one another.
You've Got Notes by the_gramophone (1/1 | 14,817 | R)
Stiles Stilinski has wanted star basketball player Derek Hale forever, but what are the odds of that ever happening? A love story of letters, prom, and the healing power of milkshakes.
Lovely Penmanship by DLanaDHZ (31/31 | 110,743 | NC17)
To use a scribe to write your letters is a sign of privilege. To be a scribe is... mildly better than a servant. When Stiles, scribe to Lady Kate Argent, is instructed to write a love letter to Lord Derek Hale in her stead, he has no idea just how far from plan things will go. He has no idea that this series of letters will begin a secret affair under the noses of his employers, will lead to him discovering the truth about his past family tragedy, and will make his head spin for both good and bad reasons. All he knows is 'Dear Derek' has some very lovely penmanship.

Derek is the guy who Stiles met on some random band page on MySpace because Derek made a ridiculously hilarious comment and with a spurt of confidence, Stiles had messaged him to tell him just how hilarious it was and they got to talking. Derek is the guy that made a FaceBook account just to talk to Stiles on the messenger so they could talk more when MySpace was slowly dying out. Derek is the guy that changed his text message plan to unlimited when he finally sent Stiles his cell phone number. Derek is the guy that has been on the phone with Stiles at any and all hours through the day.

Analyzing Illumi Zoldyck's Character
Chrollo Analysis | Hisoka Analysis | Killua Analysis
What’s up y’all! Sorry for being away for the last few days. I needed a break from social media because I am so tired of seeing toxic, self-righteous people on my TL. Anyway, quite a lot of you liked my posts about analyzing HxH characters and somehow comparing them to VLD characters. Today, I’ll be talking about Illumi Zoldyck and I’ll try to compare him to a Voltron character. I know many people have already analyzed this character before, but it wouldn’t hurt to add to the discussion some years later. If you want me to write about anything else, send me an ask! The formatting of this post may be different than the one I wrote about Hisoka Morrow (click his name to view that post).
HERE WE GO!
In the first season, all of the characters are contestants for the Hunter’s Exam. I say contestants because this is a contest to see who can win without any injuries and can keep up with each host. I forget what number stage they were at, but I do know they were at the stage where each opponent has to fight each other. They are declared the winner if their opponent forfeits or gives up mid-match. (Off-topic, but) I am going, to be honest; Gon was my favorite character but his flaws began to show, annoyed me, and later led to his horrific downfall (based from YouTube clips). He didn’t know when to stop and kept pushing himself over the limit. Anyway, Killua and Gittarackur are set to fight. This is when things take a turn for the worse.
Gittarackur is a form of a disguise for Illumi to mask his identity. His face is long; nearly (and reminds me of) in the shape of a Tiki. His face also reminds me of the Witch Doctor mask from Scooby-Doo and Hell-raiser. He has several pins stuck in his face to maintain the facial features of Gittarackur. On the flip side, if he removes the pins, his biological form is revealed. Once he does this, Killua is nearly paralyzed; he cannot believe his eyes and I’m sure the trauma he endured at home hit him like a sack of rocks. Illumi then tells Killua that he wants him to return home, that he cannot maintain a friendship with Gon, stated that he was going to kill Gon, but realizes that if he does so he will be disqualified and will not obtain his Hunter’s license.
I’m assuming the cops aren’t a thing in this reality and the only way for them to “destroy” under the law is by obtaining the license. What do you think? I rarely see police officers; all I see are the Mafia and every they suck compared to the Zoldyck's and the Phantom Troupe. Shit, it seems like they’re the police but have twisted motives.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a fictional character or not, first impressions matter and he bombed this one...even for a villain.
But you did this for what?
How can you hypnotize (by using Nen) your own brother into killing another opponent because he doesn’t want to become an emotionless zombie like you? At least, that’s my perception. Telling your brother to run every time he faces an opponent that he knows he cannot win against is the sickest shit I’ve ever seen. I know I’m jumping around but another thought popped into my head. As the seasons go on, Illumi expresses an odd way of loving his younger brother and to him, that means to make him suffer in the same way he had to. It seems like Illumi is jealous of Gon in a way. (I’ve seen clips on YouTube) Killua takes Alluka to the hospital to heal Gon. Illumi has stated several times to Hisoka that Killua was hiding rules from him and that he still wanted to get rid of Alluka. Although it is clearly stated why he wanted Alluka gone, I still think that Illumi was jealous of Gon simply because his younger brother preferred to be with a friend instead of him. This is why he emphasizes “You cannot have friends. Either they will betray you or you’ll betray them.”
As I read and watched as the seasons went on, I noticed something about Illumi and his family. We all know that the children were raised by their parents. Specifically, their dad is a trained assassin. I can’t remember but I think Zeno is their grandfather who is also an assassin.
I view him as a character that has suffered from abuse and trauma in order to mold him into an assassin. He is emotionless, doesn’t really care for others, has an odd relationship with Killua that he doesn’t have for his other siblings, and is a hypocrite. Killua can’t be friends with Gon but every time the show cuts to him, he’s with Hisoka? Something is fishy there. Are they more than friends? OK, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. Here's the physical analysis below.
Face
When masquerading as Gittarackur, his face has several pins in them and his hair is in a rock star form of Mohawk that is purple. I’ll give him 10/10 for uniqueness, yet it still reminded me of Hell Raiser.
Tumblr media
I’ve noticed that when he is in public he is in costume. Why doesn’t he reveal himself in public? I’ve researched this and no one could answer this question. My guess is that he is a verified hunter and assassin. How can you carry out your missions if everyone knows what you look like? Without the pins in his face, it reverts back to his natural state. To me, his large eyes and long, shiny black hair are his distinguished features. Although he may be my least favorite character, he does have pretty eyes. Haven’t you all heard of “I got lost in his/her eyes”?
Tumblr media
Yeah, that can be said about him. Most definitely. He rarely smiles and when he does, something BAD is going to happen. I saw him laugh crazily once Alluka began the healing process, the Nen (I guess) rose from the hospital and got on him. This scene reminds me of how Haggar reacted once the Komar’s quintessence bounced from Voltron and bounced onto her. Wow, these supernatural abilities make y’all feel that good?
Clothes
Gittarackur and Illumi wear the same clothes, which should be a clear giveaway that they are the same. Illumi wears a neural green short jacket that has yellow pins in them, a light green shirt underneath, and green pants. His shoes remind me of loafers with a heel on them, something my grandmother would wear.
Tumblr media
I’ve said this before and I’ll say again, these bad-ass men in this show are very stylish and seem to be in shape more than I am. Although Illumi irks me, his fashion is great and this is why people prefer him to be their favorite character. Shows should always produce characters that are memorable; that is the key to a long-lasting fan base.
In conclusion, this anime (for the most part) has well-rounded characters that make the plot interesting and wanting more.
Illumi and Lotor are somewhat similar. They both grew up in abusive households and lost some sense of sensitivity, common sense, and were often “misguided” by their own selfishness. Illumi wants a better life for Killua by constantly brainwashing him into thinking that he cannot have friends and his can only find happiness through killing. Zarkon raises Lotor to be a prince that shouldn't work with planets and should destroy them. This explains why he used deceased Alteans from the colony, drained their quintessence, and didn't give them a proper burial. Lotor IS just like his father but Killua IS NOT like Illumi. Ironic, huh? As we all know by now, Lotor is the son of Honerva (Haggar) and Zarkon. After the rift accident, he became an emotionless, ruthless monster that colonized and destroyed planets just to gain their quintessence. He taught this to his son and once he was old enough to think for himself, he refused to act in such a way. Although he was exiled and said he wasn’t like Zarkon, he was; but worse. Lotor studied and gained knowledge about Altea and its people while using Allura to gain the secrets of Oriande. I say he used her because he knew from the moment he met her that he was harvesting Altean quintessence. While fighting the white lion, he yelled “Victory or Death” which is a common catchphrase the Galra use when they are in battle. In fact, the Galra have been victims of trauma from Zarkon. Zarkon’s ruthless ways of ruling had no other motive except for obtaining quintessence so he could live forever. Silva’s way of raising his children was done to mold them into assassins. Since he was taught this way he did the same thing to his children. Zarkon, Silva, and Zeno think that their ways of parenting are necessary for survive in life when it doesn’t have to be that way. Illumi and Lotor have experienced this horrific parenting and deal with it in different ways. Illumi is oddly obsessive of his younger brother and Lotor is a fucking liar.
This analysis was fun! Next, I’ll be analyzing Killua and Keith Kogane.

Childe:
Ajax or as he was known currently with his fans because of his various song covers "Tartaglia" had just finished tidying up his recording room to attend his practice session at the gym for MMA, as he was placing his spare clothes on his duffle bag, he took a quick swipe at his phone buzzing with notification at his latest cover.
A sweet genuine smile carved at Childe's face as he reads a thousand messages on his post as he was savoring the joyful and thirsty comments as well as memes about him a message from an unknown sender appeared on his screen curious, Childe tap on the email sent to him when he reads who was the sender he was both thrilled at the same time skeptical.
'This couldn't possibly be true, can't it? No way?'
he thought to himself, eyes wide open, body shaking of nervousness and excitement. He took the hand that had covered his mouth in a shock away and took a deep breath gulping down a breath he had not noticed he was holding
"Okay, Ajax just chill. .  . just chill man, you still don't know what the message is about don't get ahead, Oh Tsaritsa what should I do?" he told himself and slowly exhaled before continuing to read the rest of the content
----------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------
A scream from his room interrupted Ajax's family, everyone looked atop the stairs as heavy footsteps hastily descend upon the living room where everyone was eating snacks, Ajax who was still ecstatic at the email he had received hugged his siblings tightly and kissed his mother on the cheek before taking Teucer his younger brother and tossing him gleefully in the air  the younger boy happily cried "higher brother, higher!" Teucer said
"Hahaha, of course, anything for my little brother" he laughed while catching Teucer.
"Hahaha, You're beaming, there must be something good, да?" Ajax's father commented as he chuckled at his son's antics when he gets excited
"My, my you seemed to be happy Ajax, did something happen?" Ajax's mother commented as she continued to watch the brothers lovingly, upon hearing his mother he threw Teucer one more time in the air before catching him and placing him down safely on the floor with their other siblings, Ajax smiled toothly at his mother before nestling down between his mother and father who sat on the sofa clasping each of their hands on his as he breathed steadying his excited heart.
"I received an email from a company" he started trying to assess his parents
"Oh? From who? Is it a sponsorship from that brand you want?" His mother inquired knowing too well that his son was already famous to have some sponsorship from different companies.
Ajax chuckled, he knew his family will be shocked at the news he was about to tell them "Hmm, better" he teased eyeing his father this time to see his reaction
"Better, huh?" His dad started then a twinkle of surprise resurfaced on his father's eyes as he made a deduction "Don't tell me? Are you serious Ajax?" His father continued as he assumed what could be better than having sponsorship from a company
"They're hiring you? What company? No! wait! don't tell me it wouldn't be any regular company who will message you especially with what you often do. . . so it has to be-"
Before his father could even continue Ajax, answered for him "Geo Ent. invited me to be one of their new talents for an idol g-"
Before he could even say everything else, Ajax was clamored down by his siblings who were listening and his father on the sofa congratulating him.
"Congratulations son! I know you had it in you, especially since you have my face, hahaha!"
"Congratulations! Big brother!"
"Big brother will be famous soon! Will you be cosplaying as Mr. Cyclops too?"
"Big brother is talented so of course they want you to be their talent!"
"Now, now I haven't given them their answer which reminds me I have to call them now to-  uh, mom?" Ajax called after noticing that his mother standing on the other side of their house pulling what seemed to be a bunch of large travel luggage.
"Ajax, dear, do you think these pieces of luggage will be enough for your things while you stay in Liyue, or do we need to buy more?" Her mother probed and all he could Ajax do was laughed at his excited family.
"Let me call them first"
---------------------------------------------------------
Diluc & Kaeya:
A selca here, a selca there, and of course a selca of his favorite brother should also be included in his latest insta, though Kaeya wished that Diluc would smile more at his pictures of him, he always looked aloof
"Can you please try to smile at least once, when I take your picture?" Kaeya whined mumbling that his brother's good looks are wasted with his unchanging face
"I would if you stopped placing unnecessary caption on my pictures and for the last time Kaeya, stop drinking! It's the middle of the day" Diluc retorted eyeing his brother's various drinks placed neatly all at once on the VIP lounge they are currently staying at in "Cat's tail".
'He's not going to drink all of this, is he?'
Diluc thought to himself innocently before his brows started scrunching a moment later at the possibility of it happening, after all this is Kaeya he was talking about, his self-proclaimed wine/alcohol-connoisseur brother Kaeya.
He sighed exasperatedly plopping his head on the velvet backrest of the chair he is currently sitting on his back facing his brother
"Why am I with you again?" He asked out loud asking himself more than his brother who he accompanied, he often wonders to himself what made him go along with Kaeya's wine tasting adventure despite disliking alcohol himself.
"Because you're my big brother and you love me and despite your nagging, you wanted to make sure I enjoy what I'm doing safely- does that answer your question"
"Yeah, that's right because I care too much about you that's what big brothers do" Diluc mumbled back while patting a cat on his lap that has somehow managed to make it thru their private lounge.  Kaeya grinned all too knowingly at his brother recording their conversation live secretly to his followers on insta with the camera facing his brother's back, he's sure Diluc will kill him if he saw what he was doing but for now, while he's still alive, he'll savor his brother's words. He might be too mischievous but he sincerely appreciates Diluc's love for him despite their constant petty fights.
"Kaeya, just promise me you won't- huh?" Just as Diluc was turning to face Kaeya he noticed his brother's phone and his shit-eating grin plastered on his tanned brother leaning one arm on the velvety lounge chair suddenly he felt the want to strangle someone to death.
"Aww~ <3, mind repeating that? My followers are crying over your message"
The cat who was sitting on Diluc's lap leaped out of the other male sensing the impending danger that is about to happen in the lounge.
"KAEYA. . . . .. . !"
"Well, that's it for now my followers! Pray that'll be alive after this! Bye!-"
"KAEYA!"
was the last word Kaeya's followers heard before the live ended.
"Please come again!" The hostess Margaret said as the two good-looking brothers left the establishment with one looking aloof once again arms crossed over his chest while the other looked scruffy following behind the older red-head male sighing
"Must you waste good alcohol? I was looking forward to tasting those!" Kaeya felt dejected after not having even a sip of any of the cocktails he ordered, he glared dagger at Diluc
"It's for your own good, I told you, too much alcohol isn't good for you" Diluc sighed not even looking at his brother as they walked to the street, he was specifically trying to find Good Hunters to order chicken skewers for Kaeya since he knew his brother is upset.
"I haven't even got a single sip! And I paid for those"
"Of course you should, you ordered them after all," Diluc said eyeing the shop across from them, he waited for Kaeya to be on his side before patting his brother's back to led him to cross the street, Kaeya huffed while walking and looking at his brother dead in the eye he can't believe he paid for nothing
"But I didn't break the glasses why did you use my card to pay for those as well?"
"To maximize your card limit so you can't pay for anymore cocktail"
"What. . .?!" Kaeya couldn't believe what he was hearing, he won't be able to drink any at all, tears started forming on his visible eye quickly and sniffing could also be heard a second later, Diluc turned to look at this brother with crocodile tears he sighed again for the nth time today
He can be so melodramatic sometimes and I'm an idiot for always indulging him
He thought brows knotted together as he waits for Kaeya to deliver his 'guilt-ridden' lines he often uses at him to get his way, his brother is too good at mind games
"H-how could you. . . I thought you love me as your younger brother maybe you really-"
"-STOP"
". . ."
"sighs* first let's get you some chicken skewers, I know you're really upset even if you don't really show it and when we get home I'll make you some death afternoon"
"Really? Aww! Thanks Luc! You're really are the best big bro! hehehe" And as quickly as Kaeya summoned his tears as quickly as it also disappeared across his face replaced with his infamous shit-eating grin knowing he got his way again, he patted Diluc's back as he quickly makes his way towards Good Hunter to order chicken skewers, he'll order a few to eat at Good hunters and order some more to bring back at the mansion he'll have to convince Diluc as well to give him sparkling wine to make his fruity chicken skewers he's sure his brother wouldn't mind.
Just as Kaeya was placing his order, Diluc sat at one of the open tables on the veranda and waited for his brother when he noticed a bobbed-cut black-haired woman staring in their direction, Diluc paid her no mind thinking that the woman was probably one of Kaeya's follower on insta waiting for Kaeya to return to have a photo ops with his brother
"Hey, Luc! You don't mind if I ordered some chicken skewer to go, right?"
speak of the devil, Kaeya nonchalantly walked back to him all smiles this time as he took his seat parallel to his brother "Sure, whatever makes you happy. . .  by the way" Diluc leaned forward arms still crossed as he placed them atop the table "Kaeya I think that woman is one of your-"
"-She isn't" Kaeya responded strongly as he places one of his arms above the table cradling his chin on his palm looking at the counter to see if his chicken skewers are ready
"Oh, and how do you know? You haven't even looked at her?" he rose one incredulous brow at his younger brother. It always amazes Diluc how Kaeya can be quite perceptive of things when it's convenient for him.
"Because that woman has been following us since we left the Dad's office this morning"
What?!
A look of disbelief flashed on Diluc's handsome face at the realization and knotted his brows later at his brother's words
"If she's been following us since the beginning"  Diluc emphasized, "why did you tell me only now?" He sighed closing his eyes trying to alleviate the incoming migraine he's about to have, he tapped the table with his finger waiting for Kaeya's explanation, his brother is preceptive he wouldn't be so careless especially since the two of them are well-known sons of the world-famous wine-tycoon Crepus Ragnvindr it is bond that there will be people who are after them either to do them harm or to gain something from their family.
"Relax, she doesn't look dangerous or to be more precise she isn't with someone dangerous though we'll have to verify that once she talks to us"
And just as Kaeya spoke, the woman who had been tailing them stood from her seat and politely approached them
"Good day gentlemen, may I take some of your time?" she stated with a polite smile looking at the two brothers
Diluc only nodded in acknowledgment while Kaeya gave her his fan-service smile
"Of course, please have a seat you must have been tired waiting for the right time to approach and talk to us, aren't you? You should have just come forward instead of stalking us, you do know that's a crime right? I can report you easily to the police but of course, that'll depend on your reasons" With a friendly facade, Kaeya warned the young woman openly of what he can do if he finds anything about her intention dangerous, the young woman was surprised and at the same time embarrassed for looking like a suspicious person, well she could understand their apprehensive behavior towards her, she was after all following them since the beginning.
She cleared her throat and offered her hand to formally introduce herself "I apologize if my action seemed suspicious to you Mr. Diluc and Mr. Kaeya it's only for my line of work. I'm Katherine by the way"
The brother's looked at Katherine's extended hand before looking at one another assessing Katherine's words, Kaeya took her hand first smiling while Diluc just watched, his brother is better than him when it comes to conversation especially to strangers
"Yes, it's indeed suspicious for an unknown young woman to follow and even know something about us, so tell me what kind of job stalks people? I haven't read anything of that sort from the classified ads or is it that the government legalized stalking, hmm?"
Okay, Diluc takes it back, his brother is definitely not good at normal conversation Kaeya's better at interrogating he has forgotten his brother used to be in the military. He should take over before Kaeya makes the young woman even flustered as she was already.
"What my brother is trying to say is to please explain to us why were you following us, I apologize if we're a bit apprehensive with you but I guess you already know why we're like that so if you wouldn't mind, we'd like to hear your reason"
Seeing the window of opportunity to be heard, Katherine immediately blubbered the purpose of her stalking the handsome brothers forgetting the tell them about the company and whatnot.
"IwasscoutingyoutobepartofournewIdolgroup!"
". . . " ". . .huh?"
was the only response of the brothers
"I-I mean, the two of you are already well-known and has a great number of fanbase on insta, the company was looking for new talents such as you two when we saw your insta stories of Mr. Diluc performing a jazz song on a piano and Mr. Kaeya's guitar cover the higher-ups decided to make an offer to the both of you that's why I was following you"
". . . I . . . see"
". . hmm"
Again, the brothers only looked at her with doubt, Katherine could already see on their heads she was being labeled as a 'scammer'
Embarrassed and unable to bear the brothers piercing doubtful gazes, Katherine hastily stood from her seat
"A-anyway, now that I have said what I needed to say, please excuse me and thank you for sparing me your time, i-if you have any doubts about my offer you can visit us at "Golden Pavillion, Liyue" though she was embarrassed, Katherine made an effort to politely offer her business card before fleeing the scene leaving the brothers confused and curious at the same time, the brothers looked at the business card left to them and looked at one another
"It's a scam," the two of them said in unison they deduced, however, the two of them were still curious, Kaeya was about to reach out to take the business card when his name was called up from the counter of Good Hunters for his chicken skewers, Diluc still looking at the business card left by Katherine gave Kaeya his card to pay for his order and take-away when Diluc was left on the table alone, he took the unique looking card and swiped his thumb on the high-quality bronze gold-like colored business card written on its front was Katherine's name and her position as a Talent Scout Manager and other contact details but nothing about the company.
"an Idol, huh" he breathed still eyeing the card, a longing gaze swept across his handsome face as recalls a childhood dream he once had to be a musical performer just like his deceased mother, he recalls his earliest memories of his mother playing the piano while he sang, his father Crepus listening to the mother-son duet with the proudest and happiest look a father could ever have and even when his mother died, Diluc continued to play for his grieving father, music made it less painful for the both of them and made it easier for them to remember the happiest time with his mother.
The first time Diluc thought of being a musician was when he met Kaeya, compared before his brother was frail and timid not like the confident flirt and perceptive- bastard he is now. When Kaeya was first brought to their mansion at the winery his brother had trouble sleeping, being plagued with nightmares night after night, worried, and unable to bear Kaeya's suffering he took his younger brother to the music room one night and sat him comfortably with one of the chairs as he plays one of his mother's pieces hoping it will help his little brother when he finally finished playing he was surprised to find his brother sleeping soundly on the chair and since then, every night Diluc would take Kaeya to the music room and make a pillow fort together so they could sleep comfortably after Diluc finishes playing the piano and just like every night Kaeya would be asleep on his part of the bed Diluc would tuck his brother up, however, that night was different someone else has already tucked Kaeya on their self-made pillow fort
"Dad, you're home," Diluc said as he stood up from the chair and made a beeline towards his father, hugging the older male as Crepus knelt to received his son's affection.
"I wanted to come home early since I heard Kaeya was having trouble sleeping but I guess you already took care of it, huh?" Crepus chuckled as he ruffled his son's fluffy red hair"
"Of course! I'm his big brother, I need to protect him, heheh" Diluc beamed at his dad proudly with a toothy smile "Dad, I want to be a musician just like mom so I can play the pieces she composed and also help Kaeya sleep better! Kaeya needs to sleep a lot if he wants to be big as me so I'll play the piano for him every time he has a hard time sleeping"
Crepus chuckled at his son's determination and admired his reason, Diluc was always warm-hearted just like his deceased wife "Thank you Diluc, you're really a great big brother to Kaeya"
For years Crepus and Kaeya had been supportive of his dream of becoming a musician until that one fateful day of his 18th birthday, His father, Kaeya, and their acquaintances prepared a birthday party for him at one of their many branches worldwide in Angels Share located in Mondstadt he was excited not only because he's at a legal age now but because he also received a letter of acceptance to one of the prestigious music school, he knew Kaeya and his Dad will be thrilled at the news, however, everything from that day had been a nightmare for him It was the day he learned the truth about his father's health condition and Kaeya's reason why he was adamant about going to Khaenri'ah.
That day on his 18th birthday everything changed, the father he once thought was healthy was sick and the brother he thought who wouldn't hide anything from him was keeping a secret.
"Kaeya, why didn't you tell me dad was sick! I thought there was no secret between us?! And why am I only hearing about your trip to Khaenri'ah now? What are you planning on doing in that place?! You're barely legal!"
"sigh* Just focus on becoming a musician Luc, you don't need to concern yourself with me going to Khaenri'ah as for dad's health he made me promise not to tell you because he knew you will act like this"
"To hell with how I act! I deserve to know what's happening to my family. Tell me the truth Kaeya!"
In that instant, on his 18th birthday, Diluc's dream of becoming a musician was left focusing solely on the family business, he also made sure that Kaeya will finish his military training and become an accomplished Brigadier General at such a young age just like his brother's dream. Kaeya's dream shouldn't be compromised because of his family's business, Diluc always thought Kaeya should deserve better but after 4 yrs of only serving his bastard of a brother retired from his position the moment he was back from establishing a branch in Khaenri'ah stating he missed him and the taste of wine and prefers to work as a wine-connoisseur instead. With years apart he didn't even know Kaeya started playing the guitar to fill the silent hollow covering their mansion when he stopped playing any instrument, though they weren't as close as they used to 4 yrs ago, they're trying their best to live as brothers.
He was still reminiscing about the past when he heard Kaeya's voice  near him
"Want to check it out?" his brother probed as he took his seat a platter of chicken skewers placed in front of him and another bag to take home, Diluc didn't answer and simply placed the unique looking card back at the table saying nothing
"I'm curious as well Luc, let's go" Kaeya insisted after taking a graceful bite of his skewer
"You already said it yourself, it's a scam why bother?"
"Yeah, but I mean there is nothing we could lose by checking it out and if it's really a scam then I could just report it to the guys back at the military, I'm still a military officer you know"
"A retired military officer" Diluc corrected, Kaeya paid his comment no mind and insisted "Come on Luc, let's try it out, you've put a hold of your dream as a musician for a long time now, I've become a military officer just like my dream, Dad's health is alright and you already succeeded in opening a branch in Khaenri'ah so, what's holding you up?"
Diluc sighed, Kaeya is right everything's fine now, except for him, he guessed it's about time for him to fulfill his dream, Diluc sighed once again but this time it wasn't due to annoyance from his brother but rather he sighed of relief of finally letting himself accomplished his dream
"Fine, let's check it out" he finally answered
"Great!" Kaeya cheered "You heard him loud and clear right, dad? We'll visit Liyue soon"
What? Dad?! Since when did Kaeya had been talking to dad?
"you snake. . . " Diluc mumbled under his breath looking at his giggling brother who managed to manipulate him again, he heard their father's hearty laugh from the other end "Thank you Kaeya, make sure Diluc's wish comes true,  alright?"
"Of course, dad, anything for my big bro that's a promise" Kaeya looked at his brother adoringly as he told their father however before Kaeya could end the call, Diluc took his phone and left a clear declaration of his new dream and goal.
"Don't worry Dad, I'll make sure to fulfill my dream- becoming a musician along with my little brother"
"what. . . ? Why am I involve in this?" Kaeya whispered over the phone
"Because I've had a different dream this time, performing with you, didn't you say you'd do anything for your big bro?" Diluc stated as a matter of factly "Or are you just saying that, maybe you never meant it and hated your big bro-"
"-Alright! Fine I'll audition with you" Kaeya couldn't believe Diluc copied his guilt-ridden strategy, he should be more careful now around his brother until now he only thought it would only work on Diluc and not back-fired at him
Over the phone, Crepus was laughing loudly at his sons' exchanged, he was happy, joyous even knowing that his two pride and joy are still getting along despite the rift that had happened between them.
"Alright, do your best boys but just in case bring someone else with you, it'll put my heart at ease knowing you two are safe, will that be alright?"
"of course dad," the brothers said in unison, laughing at one another.
The following day at the Golden Pavillion, Katherine who was busy checking any response from the talent she had scouted was abruptly called by the receptionist because of a commotion at their company's lobby. Upon reaching the said lobby Katherine was surprised to see a lot of black-suited men guarding every corner of their building looking for anything suspicious when one of the black-suited men noticed her, the man straightforwardly asked her without reserved "Excuse me ma'am are you, Katherine?"
"uhh. .  . y-yes! Why did I do something?" Katherine asked nervously racking her brain for any memory that would warrant her for an arrest of some sort but as soon as she saw a pair of good-looking men walking her way, she recalled one of the brother's threat
"- You should have just come forward instead of stalking us, you do know that's a crime right? I can report you easily to the police but of course, that'll depend on your reasons"
No way! Is she going to be arrested for stalking Crepus Ragnvindr's sons?!
Oh, God, I was only scouting them, I didn't mean to do anything illegal!
Katherine silently prayed as the group of men parted to make way for the two young men, contrary to what Katherine imagined of disdain from the brothers because of her scouting, The two looked friendlier than before, the younger brother Kaeya if she remembers even smiled and waved at her calling her but she shouldn't let her guard down, compared to the older brother Diluc who looks intimidating is less of a threat compared to Kaeya.
"Oh, Ms. Katherine we were looking for you!"
"y-yes? H-how can I help you" she answered in surprise, readying herself for any possible threat the younger male may speak
"We're here to discuss your offer from last time, does it still stands?" Diluc the older brother inquired and for a moment, Katherine felt she was dreaming or is this another ploy to threaten her because they misunderstood her scouting them, she was silent for a minute or two before Kaeya probed her
"Hmm, Ms. Katherine?"
"Ah! Y-yes? I'm sorry I was spacing out" she started still frightened at her surroundings "I'm just overwhelmed with. . ." she looked around her and to the black-suited clad men in the lobby ". . . with this. I was expecting it'll only be you two to visit our building" she explained while the brothers only looked at her understanding what the young woman meant, it could really be intimidating to be surrounded by a lot of bodyguards, however, Kaeya snickered despite trying to apologize profusely at the scene they made
"pfft. . hehehe I-I . . . hehehe . . .we're so sorry if that's what you felt Ms.Katherine but you also have to understand our side, you left immediately after saying your piece without any explanation and your business card doesn't even give any hint about your company" Kaeya explained
"WHAT?!" Katherine spoke, now that she recalls she indeed forgot to tell them because of Kaeya's threat
"We sincerely thought it was a scam and just decided to check the place you mentioned, we just took some extra precautions just in case, I hope you understand, hehehe"
"I-I. . . yes alright, I understand, t-then are the both of you auditioning or just one of you?"
The brothers looked at one another, a knowing smile grazing their handsome faces as they answer Katherine in unison.
"Both of us, if you don't mind"
----------------------------------------------------------
Zhongli:
He was taking his usual stroll in the city trying to relieve another stressful day at work, he had no destination on mind letting his feet take him when he noticed a bunch of freshly picked Qingxin flowers being displayed in the flower shop, Zhongli seeing the flower made him stood in place, a look of longing for someone was reflected on his amber-golden eyes and for a moment he felt the wind blew gently at him swaying his long tied hair
'Oh yeah? Let's see who sings better? You may have that deep alluring voice but I can sing better than you! heh"
'I hope I can see the two of you perform soon! I wouldn't miss it for the world'
"Is it that time already?" he asked himself looking at the clear blue sky above him smiling although with a hint of melancholy, without another word Zhongli purchased a bunch of Qingxin flowers thanking Hu Tao for reminding him of his wallet and as if the wind were guiding him, Zhongli walked where ever the wind blew and before he knew where he was heading he found himself listening to a sound of a harp playing in the distant the soft melodies flowing in the air made him stop on his tracks and a vision of young woman sat with the harp playing covered his eyes
". . . Guizhong?" he mumbled one hand reaching out to the phantom image of his long-gone lover and a second later he felt himself walking towards her mirage only for him to realize his mind was playing tricks at him again. He stood in silence a prick of pain throb his chest slowly growing to his whole body, he covered his handsome stern face with his free hand and heaved a deep sigh not to recollect himself but rather to shake off the incoming tears in his eyes.
'I really love listening to your voice Zhongli, when you become famous don't forget to sing for me, okay?'
'I'll always be by your side to support you so don't worry about me '
'you worry too much Zhongli, hehehe I may be small compared to you but I can take care of myself, just focus on your dream you made a bet with Barbatos after all'
Try as hard as he can, the emotions insides him betrayed him and a tear slowly cascaded his face at the memory of Guizhong and his time with her, he felt bittersweet at the memory. He was able to achieve what he wants but the person he wants to show his achievement was no longer with him.
How ironic but we can't all have the good things in life can't we?
He thought as he carefully wiped the remnants of his tears across his face and composed himself again before walking once again to give the flowers to its owner.
As Zhongli walked the pavement towards the cemetery where Guizhong's tombstone lies he noticed a smaller male sitting in front of her laughing to himself as he lifts a goblet of what seems to be a wine to the air
"I hope you're happy there dear, our beloved stern-face brutish blundering buffoon finally decided to uphold our bet, heh - though I might say it took longer but don't worry the wait is worth it so please keep watching over him, alright? He's. . . .  well, busied himself with others after you were gone can't blame him, you were precious to him" the smaller male said as if he was talking to a person, he leaned back admiring the clear blue sky a soft breeze of the wind passed as if it was agreeing to what he had said earlier about Zhongli not realizing that the male in question was just standing a couple of feet away from them his looming shadow cast over the shorter male as he approaches and a look of disdain clearly pasted on his face.
"Oh, so I'm stern-face blundering baffoon, huh? Oh, how convenient that there's stone here, you wouldn't mind me hitting you with it won't you Barbatos?" Zhongli sarcastically said tossing the pebble in his hand in the air up-down, up-down like a warning as he eyed the man
"hahaha, did I say that? I wasn't actually talking about you rather -"
"huh, save it, Barbatos" The taller man sighed "though I'm surprised to find you here I heard you are busy with your pre-debut" Zhongli threw the pebble to the ground to the relief of Barbatos and sat next to the smaller male offering the Qingxin flower and a short prayer wiping away the dust and dirt that littered her tomb
Hello, love it's been a while since I lost visit, I hope Barbatos, Xiao, and Ganyu has been keeping you company for me
He told her silently before he looked back at the shorter male eyeing the wine on his goblet
"Osmanthus?" Zhongli probed
"The one and only I know you like this stuff and what better way to taste it on the day you finally accepted Geo ent.'s offer, heheh" Barbatos chuckled as he poured another goblet to Zhongli and another in a smaller cup to Guizhong's tomb.
The two men sat in silence neither tasting the wine and just relishing the peace between them before Barbatos cut the silence
"Guizhong's case. . . it's finally closed, right?" he asked carefully, knowing it's a sensitive topic to his friend
Zhongli only nodded as he gracefully took a sip of the precious wine in his goblet
"I'm glad Guizhong finally had justice . . . she wouldn't have it if it weren't for you I'm sure she's thankful for you up there"
"I need to see to it that I closed her case, I wouldn't have peace if I allowed the criminal who wronged her not be punished" as Zhongli said that Barbatos noticed that somehow Zhongli was able to find peace- though a bit of longing hangs from his face from to time it's better than seeing his old friend looking desperate and empty
Barbatos sighed, "yeah, you've been busy. . . even becoming a lawyer heheh~ so, I guess I have to be careful with my words now, huh? or I might have a court order"  he jested knowing all his friend's activities in the past couple of years and why Zhongli only accepted the Geo ent.'s offer despite being scouted for several years
Zhongli was busy chasing and fighting the court for Guizhong's murder busy enough that his friend grew a bit distant from his relatives Xiao and Ganyu, that was the only reason why his friend became a lawyer and Barbatos doubts his friend will seriously take any more clients after this case was closed, after all, he wouldn't have accepted Geo ent.'s offer if he's serious about his law career, right?
"Don't worry yourself, this will be the first and last case I'll handle" as if reading his mind, Zhongli responded clearing any doubt from his friend "though, if you break any contracts, I wouldn't mind suing you. .. . you still recall our bet right? A rematch who's a better singer? I'll be upholding that against you, Barbatos" Zhongli chuckled after taking another sip of the wine
"Of course I remember, heh! And it's not Barbatos call me 'Venti' now that's my screen name"
"I see. . . that's better compared to being called 'Barb' or 'atos', Xiao's also debuting with you. . . correct?" Zhongli asked remembering that his younger relative becoming close to his friend while he was busy with his law career.
"Yeah, we have 2 other members joining, you know Aether from ABYSS right? and then there's Kazuha Beidou's protege from Inazuma, You better prepare yourself Zhongli with my group we'll definitely crush you on our rematch, heheh"
Barbatos or as he would like to call himself now 'Venti' jokingly threatened his old rival to which Zhongli paid no mind and just smiled at him
"I doubt that"
"Oh, aren't you confident? Lemme guess you're being grouped as well? I thought they offered you an exclusive solo contract?"
"They were, however, I asked them to change it mainly because I'm already old and youths prefer something more trendy and younger appearances and I believe we would lose to your group when it comes to charisma and looks"
Zhongli finished explaining before he felt his phone vibrated the company number of the Geo ent. flashing on his screen unexpectedly, it was too soon for them to call him regarding the other members. He stood from his seat and dusted off some of the dirt on his pants
"I'll see you around Barba- I mean 'Venti' they're calling me"
"Don't sweat it, I'll look after Guizhong for a while before I head back and the next time we see each other it should be on stage, remember that, okay?" Venti called over as Zhongli started walking away to answer his call giving him one final look.
When he was finally out of earshot, Zhongli answered the phone the familiar voice of Katherine the talent scout manager greeted him
"Hello, Mr. Zhongli, are you available today for a meeting?"
"I am, what is the meeting all about?" he asked
"It's about your other bandmates, they're here, and we would like for you to get to know one another before proceeding with the formation of your group,"
At her answer, Zhongli saw a young woman was standing beside a plum blossom tree smiling at him the words the woman mouthed made him smile before her mirage disappeared along with the breeze.
'thank you & congratulations Zhongli . .  .'
"Mr. Zhongli?. . . will you be available sir?"
Katherine's voice brought him back from his trance, he took a second or two before responding a smile evident in his voice.
"yes, I would love to meet them"

Hi Kylie! Your prompts look so cool!
How about 19 for any Star Wars characters of your choosing?
Hi KT!!! Thank you for this prompt and sorry it took so long! Also this one is a bit long at 2k words.
19 “we’ll sit and talk the stars down from the sky”: you know that dinluke trope where luke and din enter a political marriage? Yeah.
>>>
There’s a moment, just a moment, where Luke feels the entire weight of Mandalorian armor with a full-size male in it crash into his body. He realizes in that singular moment that he was wrong earlier when he asserted that no Mandalorian was a match for skill in the Force. Because if this Mandalorian was actually fighting him, he would be hard-pressed to recover from a blow like this. And given how much time Mandalorians spend training to counter Jedi fighting techniques, Luke doesn’t think he’d actually be able to win a fight against a fully trained Mandalorian. He’s had limited combat training himself. Just what he learned from Rebellion fighters. He’s skilled with his lightsaber, but Mandalorians are quick to disarm. They know how to defeat a Jedi and Luke hasn’t ever thought about how to defeat a Mandalorian before. Well, perhaps Boba Fett for a second on Tatooine, but he was busy and didn’t have time to realize exactly how skilled the armored man would be had Luke had time to fight him. He’s glad he didn’t because he has a feeling that would be embarrassing. Just like it’s going to be embarrassing when Paz makes him put his words to action. For now though, they’ve got other concerns.
The weight lifts after that moment and Luke is free-falling through the air. The wind rushes across his cheeks, hurting his ears just a bit, and making his eyes water. He closes his eyes and lets himself fall. The Force allows him to be aware of the ground below, the currents of the air, Paz fighting nearby, Din moving beside him. Both of them quiet confidence and brutal efficiency. Din is softer than Paz though, but Luke thinks he’s biased. Din is his husband after all.
Luke lands gracefully on the ground thanks to the Force slowing his fall. He looks back up to the clifftop where Din and Paz are still fighting. He can’t be of much help to them down here, but he doesn’t really think they need his help. Not like that. Sure they need him to strengthen ties to the Republic, but they don’t really need his skills as a Jedi. He’s glad they don’t hate him for that though, not like they used to in the beginning of all this.
But still, Luke isn’t one to sit out of a fight. So he gathers the Force around him and hops his way up the hundred-foot cliff to rejoin the fray.
The fight is over quickly when it’s a bunch of pirates against two Mandalorians and a Jedi.
***
“So, you want to reconsider your position on being able to take me down after seeing me fight?” Paz asks.
They’re cooking food over the campfire. Din claimed that Paz is the best cook, so just let him do it. Luke doesn’t like being unhelpful, but he allows Paz to cook. He was raised on Tatooine so his abilities allow him to make edible food but nothing that really excites the palate.
“I did challenge you.” Luke isn’t going to back down now, even if it means he gets his butt kicked in front of a public crowd. “But yes, I am worried I might lose.”
“Might?” Paz scoffs under the helmet. “Jetii, you will lose.”
“We’ll just have to see won’t we.” Luke smirks, something Leia says makes him look like an infuriating child who’s been listening to Han for too long.
“Sorry about pushing you off the cliff.” Paz shrugs. “Thought you’d live but still, Din says I should’ve warned you first or something.”
“It’s rude to push people off cliffs,” Din says.
“I was fine. It was fun actually. You know we might be able to turn that into something to be used during a fight. If we have to drop in, or fight from ship to ship in mid-air. You’ve got the jetpack, but I’ve got the Force so mid-air fighting could have some interesting possibilities.”
Paz laughs. “You bet we can work on that. You’re sticking around this time right? Didn’t come just to challenge me to a fight?”
“I’ve got time to stay. I can’t get funding to search out Jedi temples and artifacts until next year, so I’ve got a little while to get to know Mandalorian customs.”
“Well, rule one, we don’t take off the helmets,” Paz says although Luke already knows that and scoops out a bowl of stew and hands it to Luke.
“Thank you,” Luke says and stands to go find somewhere else to eat.
He settles down against a rock that overlooks a small clearing in the forest. It’s a fairly rocky world, giant rocks forming cliff faces, and other smaller ones dotting the landscape, a break against the green and brown of the grass fields and forests.
Luke has almost finished his bowl of soup when Din joins him. It’s not unusual for the armored man to seek him out. Usually to discuss something related to politics or culture or Grogu. Now that conversation had almost ruined the marriage. Din said no to training and Luke pushed and well...it had almost come to blows. Luke is a Jedi. He knows how to help Grogu. Sometimes he wishes he could do more, but that’s not his role here. One of the first Force-sensitives he finds and he can’t hardly speak to the child. It’s a good lesson for the future though. The Jedi’s reputation as child-snatchers is pervasive.
Din is quiet as he settles against the rock, his shoulder brushing Luke’s briefly before he pulls away. It’s the most touching Luke ever gets from him. He’s not sure he exactly wants more, but something warmer would be nice. But again, there’s only one point to this marriage, and it’s not Luke’s happiness.
“Why do you want to find Jedi temples?” Din asks.
“I’m a Jedi, and I hardly know anything about our culture. A lot was erased by the Empire. If I’m to train the next generation of knights, then I need to know what kind of people I’m inviting them to become. You can be Force-sensitive without being a Jedi. You can get training without being a Jedi. It’s a choice you have to make. I want to make sure everyone is informed before making that choice.”
“You can train as a Jedi and not be a Jedi?”
It’s not hard for Luke to see who he’s thinking of, but he doesn’t want to break the calm by bringing up Grogu.
“Yes. I’ve trained Leia how to control her powers and how to a do a few other things she was interested in. She doesn’t have the time to really be a Jedi, but she can’t just let her skills die out when they can be useful to her in any career.”
Din is quiet. “Grogu can’t sleep at night. I think it’s something Force-related.” Din pauses, and Luke gives him time to work out the correct words. “Could you–could you help?”
Luke nods and keeps his attention on the trees on the other side of the clearing. “I can try. What makes you think it’s Force-related?”
“Things move.”
Luke nods. “Let me talk to him when we get back, and I’ll see what I can do to help.”
“Not alone.”
“No, not alone. You’d be there of course,” Luke pauses and can’t help but adding, “I’m not trying to separate families. I’m building something different than the old Order.”
“You know you could get anything you wanted if you threatened him.”
Luke turns to Din then. “You think I’d do that?”
Din shrugs.
Luke turns away. He can’t really blame Din for thinking that. Jedi don’t have a good reputation in Mandalorian circles, let alone the son of Darth Vader. Clearly he can’t be trusted. The minute that little tidbit came out he and Leia lost a lot of standing in the New Republic. He’d convinced Leia to spin it so that it looked like Luke was the one more like Vader. The black clothes, the lightsaber, the fact that Luke had spent time alone with Vader and the Emperor on the second Death Star. It took the heat off Leia enough that she could make headway in the Senate, but the rumors and distrust still haunted them both.
“Maybe not, but if the New Republic asked you to.”
Luke wants to laugh at the absurdity, but here he is married to a Mandalorian because the New Republic asked him. It’s not his fault he was the only one that knew the Mandalor and his son. The seeing stone worked, but Din had changed his mind by the time Luke responded to the call.
“Well, I’m not in the business of betraying my husband,” Luke finally responds.
It’s silent as the insects begin to chirp, their symphony drowning out the silence. Luke should be the one to head back to camp, but he always feels the way Paz and Din don’t want him there. He aches for the day he can make a place of his own where he is wanted. Not even as a friend. He has Han and Leia and Chewie for that. But maybe as a leader, or just someone helpful, just someone that can be trusted.
“I don’t remember much about my parents,” Din starts suddenly, “Hardly anything in fact. But I remember when Mom and Dad fought she’d turn to him and say, ‘no, we’ll sit and talk the stars down from the sky.’ It was her way of ending the argument. I didn’t get it at the time, but it stuck with me. I think it means that when you lay all your cards on the table, there’s no more secrets or hidden motives that can cause arguments.”
Luke tilts his head a bit to look toward Din’s visor. He can’t make out the lines well in the darkness, but he knows Din is looking at him too.
“I can’t trust you, because I can’t trust anybody.”
“That’s a lonely way to live.”
“It’s not good for Grogu. I’m too protective, but I can’t–I can’t lose him.” Din nods once, as if coming to his own conclusion. “If he could defend himself–using the Force–”
Luke waits and Din doesn’t continue. Luke takes a risk and places his hand on Din’s arm. Din flinches but resettles.
“It will take time for you to trust me. I know. But I am willing to sit and talk the stars down from the sky as long as it takes for you to trust me. For no other reason than I think you’re right about Grogu needing to be able to protect himself, and I don’t like the air of loneliness that I get from both of you.”
Din puts his hand over Luke’s.
“Ask me anything. I’m an open book.”
Din shakes his head, the silver metal catching the reflection of moonlight from the rising moon. “You aren’t. You just like people to think you are.”
Luke can’t deny that, but he’s surprised that Din picked up on it.
“So why do you do that?”
Luke settles back against the rock. He goes to pull his hand away but Din holds on, and it doesn’t take much for Luke to intertwine his fingers through Din’s and open his mouth. He doesn’t think Din realizes just how much power he has over Luke in this moment because Din doesn’t know how much Luke wants Din to like him. He wants to be his friend and confidante and sometimes–like now–he wants permission to hold Din’s hand in the moonlight as the insects create a symphony that drowns out the fear that comes with opening up. Or maybe that’s just Din’s presence. The simple way he listens without judgment. The fact that Luke can sense his emotions if they spike, but otherwise he doesn’t really know what’s going on behind the mask, so Luke can pretend that it’s a soft smile and warm eyes as he tells truths very few are privy to.

Luke and (Y/N) knew each other since they were kids. They had been neighbors since childhood, so it wasn’t uncommon for them to be playing with each other in their adjoining backyards most days. But time went by and slowly they got older. On his 8th birthday, Luke had gotten a guitar and quickly realised his dream of becoming a rock star. After meeting Alex Mercer and Reggie Peters in middle school, the dream slowly became reality. Sunset Curve was born. (Y/N), on the other hand, took on violin instead.
As time passed, they slowly began to grow apart. One would describe Luke’s style of music and dress as more rock n’ roll grunge. (Y/N), however, looked the total opposite, elegant, poised, which could also be heard through her playing throughout the neighborhood. (Y/N) listened to classical music and took ballet lessons while Luke continued his guitar lessons and went to ice hockey practice. It seemed like after all this time, the two had nothing in common anymore.
Now they were in high school and they barely knew the other existed anymore. The only times Luke saw (Y/N), even though they were still neighbours, was when they ran into each other in the hall or if they just so happened to leave for school at the same time, which these days was very rare. (Y/N) was quite the early riser, and was often already off on her way while Luke was still lying in bed half asleep. Though they had two classes together, they hardly spoke to each other. It was as if their friendship before this had meant nothing.
Sometimes Luke missed the old days. Back then, (Y/N) didn’t seem too different from him. He could still remember them sitting in his treehouse, sharing gummy bears and listening to an old Led Zeppelin album. Now all she ever seemed interested in was studying. But even despite their different paths, they talked to each other from time to time. Their parents, on the other hand, were still very close. Occasionally they met at one of their homes, cooked together, talked about their jobs and even more so about their kids. Luke had learned from his parents that (Y/N) planned to go to Harvard once they graduated. Of course, when they told him that, he couldn’t stop himself from rolling his eyes. He knew his parents wished he had the same or at least similar plans for his life. But Sunset Curve was finally starting to take off. After they played their first gig at a small bar in L. A., more and more bars and clubs were willing to let them perform. Luke had loved rehearsals before, now they were even more fun, especially knowing that they’d get to perform their new songs in front of more people than just Bobby’s parents. Bobby became a part of the band when he moved to L. A. four years after they had formed. With Bobby’s arrival the band not only found a rhythm guitarist, but also a place to rehearse. Before that, they had to rehearse in Reggie’s basement, between boxes and useless junk. Then of course his parents constantly fighting upstairs didn’t make for the best working environment.
Whenever Luke fought with his parents and just needed space to clear his head, there was no better place for him than a small shed in Bobby’s backyard which they had affectionately dubbed their studio. The words from his parents still rang in his ears as he pulled out his bike, guitar case slung over his back.
“Why can’t you be more like (Y/N)?! She has good grades and a bright future at Harvard!” His mother had wailed.
“Being a rockstar is not a realistic goal, it won’t bring you any money or stability.” His father tried to convince him.
Every time it was always the same. Luke jumped onto his bike and made his way through the backyard towards the gate, when he stopped in his tracks. In the corner of his eyes he could make out a dark figure, running through the yard next to his. At the end of the driveway, he could make out the lights of a car, shining through the trees and the figure running towards it. When the figure finally came into the light, Luke could finally see who it was. She turned around, taking one last look at the house behind her before she opened the car door and got in before promptly speeding off into the darkness. Who did (Y/N) just leave with?
--
Luke was tired the next morning. Despite spending the night in the studio, far away from the trouble with his parents, the young guitarist hadn’t slept a wink. His mind was racing with thoughts of (Y/N) and the mysterious person she had left with. During their lunch break at school, he told his band members of the encounter. “Wait, you mean to tell us that (Y/N), the definition of the perfect daughter, snuck out?” Bobby asked in disbelief.
Luke nodded. “Yep, got into a car with someone. Can’t say for certain who it was.” The eyes of the four guys wandered to said girl, who was sitting with her friends at a table not far away from their own.
“I’ll dip into the school gossip and see what I can find out. I’ll deliver the goods.” Alex smirked. And deliver he did at their band practice later that day. “So you know Tori, the girl who sits next to me in chem class and never shuts up? She told me that she heard from one of her friends, who was told by one of his friends that (Y/N) was spotted with Brandon Jones in the back of the library.”
“Brandon Jones?” Luke asked with a raised eyebrow.
Alex nodded “Yeah, the captain of the football team who always drives a really expensive car.”
“How do they even know each other? Isn’t he usually on the brink of suspension?” Reggie asked curiously to which Alex shrugged.
“Well, well, well, seems like your little (Y/N) likes bad boys, Luke.” Bobby laughed, while throwing an arm around Luke’s shoulders.
Luke quickly shrugged it off with a grimace. “She’s not my (Y/N).” He snapped. “It just surprises me that she sneaks out to meet him. That doesn’t sound like her.”
“Yeah, ‘cause you know her so well after barely talking to her for years and only making eyes at her from afar.” Bobby countered.
“I’m not making eyes at her!” The guitarist defended himself much too quickly to be believable. Back in the day when he still was friends with (Y/N), he may have had the tiniest of crushes on her. Luke had to admit that (Y/N) was indeed very beautiful, but he most certainly wasn’t making eyes at her as Bobby had suggested.
--
A few days passed. Luke sped through the house looking for his jacket so he could get going to band practice, which he was already running late for. “Mom, Dad. I’m going to Bobby’s” He shouted through the house, hoping his parents had heard him. Finally finding his jacket under his bed, he shrugged it on as he made his way through the kitchen.
He was about to open the back door, when his mom appeared behind him. “Don’t you have a french test to study for? (Y/N)’s father told me about it.” Emily looked expectantly at her son, arms crossed over her chest.
Luke rolled his eyes and turned around. “Yeah, that’s why I’m going to Bobby’s. We’re gonna study together.” He lied convincingly.
Emily nodded slowly, a bit skeptical. “(Y/N) studies every night alone and gets good grades. Maybe if you would just concentrate more, you could study alone, too.” Emily suggested. Luke laughed silently. (Y/N) studying every night? That was rich, if only her parents really knew their daughter.
Luke mentally shook his head out. “Sure, but Bobby is better in french than I am. So he can help me. Work smarter not harder, isn’t that what they say?” He shrugged.
Emily looked at him thoughtfully. “You could study with (Y/N). She’s nearly fluent in French now.”
Luke nodded, a slight laugh escaping his lips as he opened the door. “I’ll think about it, alright? Now I really have to go!” He quickly said and made his way outside, slamming the door behind him. He couldn’t be late, after all Sunset Curve was playing another gig tonight. Luke took his bike from its spot against the fence and made his way towards the gate to the front yard when he suddenly saw a figure out of the corner of his eye again. Her hair was flowing in the wind as she quickly made her way through the darkened yard only this time instead of just watching, Luke went after her. Before (Y/N) could reach the car that was waiting for her behind the trees, Luke touched her shoulder. Startled, she let out a yelp of surprise as she spun around. “(Y/N)?”
“L-Luke...hey.” She laughed nervously.
“What are you doing out here?” He asked her confused, he was half expecting her to be up in her room studying like the perfect little princess she was.
(Y/N) clasped at his wrist and pulled him behind the trees, out of the sight of her house. “Don’t you dare tell my parents about this!” She hissed at the guitarist through gritted teeth.
Luke laughed. “What? That their little princess is sneaking out?”
“I’m not a princess!” She angrily countered.
Luke shook his head “Nah, you’re right, you’re clearly the living definition of a goody-two-shoes. Such a good girl, eager to please.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes “You clearly forget everything you thought about good girls.”
Luke furrowed his brows. “What do you mean?”
Suddenly a voice interrupted both of them “(Y/N) you’re coming?” Brandon Jones, cool as ever with a cigarette poised elegantly between his lips, sat in the car beside them, looking with raised eyebrows at the girl in front of Luke.
(Y/N)’s gaze wandered between the two boys “I gotta go.” She murmured as she opened the car door. But before getting inside she paused and turned to Luke again. “Good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught.” She winked as she got into the car immediately rolling down the window. “Now be a good boy and just turn around and forget about this encounter, alright?”. With that, she sped off leaving the guitarist standing there dumbfounded. Luke shook his head in disbelief, what had just happened?
When he arrived at Bobby’s, (Y/N) words were still running laps through Luke’s head. He was quick to tell the rhythm guitarist about the encounter. “‘Good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught’.” Bobby murmured.
Luke nodded. “That’s what she said. Sounds pretty rad don’t you think?” He looked at the other guitarist who nodded in agreement. “Yeah...” Suddenly it was extremely and rather awkwardly quiet. “Do you think that they-” Luke started.
“Are seeing each other?” Bobby finished his friend’s question, the lead guitarist nodding in confirmation. “Would it matter?”
Luke shrugged. “I mean, I just don’t want her to see her being pressured into something she doesn’t want to.”
Bobby laughed quietly. “OR you just don’t want her doing anything with Brandon.”
“Okay, I am definitely not jealous!” Luke countered, shaking his head.
“I never said you were, but now that you mention it…”
“Oh shut up...besides I’ve barely spoken to her in years!”
“But people don’t really change that much!” Bobby countered.
Luke huffed dramatically. “Well she did!”
“I don’t know about that, bro. Sneaking out? Doesn’t really sound like the (Y/N) we know from school.” He paused a moment. “The (Y/N) you knew when you were younger, the one you’ve told me about, that’s her down to the letter.” He shrugged as rose from his spot. “But enough about this. We’ve gotta go pick up Alex and Reggie. Otherwise we’re going to be late!” Luke quickly nodded, grabbing his guitar before following Bobby outside.
The club was completely packed with people. Luke could hear the audience’s chattering from backstage. “This is so cool!” Reggie excitedly said after taking a look through the club. “There are so many people here from school, too!”
Luke took a deep breath. Adrenaline was starting to course through his veins. He could practically hear his heart beating in his chest as the band made their way onto the stage. He blinked a few times as he tried to get used to the spotlights. His gaze drifted down through the crowd in front of them as they quickly set themselves up. Suddenly he stopped. At the back, right next to the bar, there she was standing. Their eyes met and a small smile played around her lips. Luke laughed to himself quietly before taking a step closer to the mic. “We’re Sunset Curve!”
After their gig, Luke made his way through the crowd. Everytime someone patted his shoulder to tell him how good they were, she nodded thankfully but his eyes always stayed fixated on (Y/N). When he finally stood in front of her a giggle left her lips “Good show, Patterson.”
He smirked, leaning against the bar. “Thanks.”
“Just like we imagined when we were kids.” She slightly bumped against his shoulder.
The guitarist felt his heart beat faster at this. Nervously he rubbed the back of his neck. “I guess.”
“So that’s what you’ve been up to all this time...?” She quietly asked, her gaze drifting through the crowd. Luke nodded in reply. “And soon you’re gonna be famous!” She smiled suddenly much more excited.
Luke laughed “I think that’s still a long way off. What about you? What’ve you been up to?” He asked her curiously.
“Oh, you know violin and ballet lessons, the usual. I haven’t told my parents yet that I’m sick of it!” She nonchalantly took a sip from her coke and looked at him.
Luke furrowed his brows, he was genuinely confused. “I thought that’s what you liked? I mean you got your violin around the same time I got my guitar.”
(Y/N) shook her head “I practically begged my parents to get me an electric bass so we could form a band but they got me a violin. Said it would be better for me.”
Luke was surprised at those words. “A band?” He saw (Y/N)’s cheeks taking on a pink shade.
She shrugged. “Like Led Zeppelin.” Suddenly ‘Whole Lotta Love’ started to blast through the speakers of the club. (Y/N) laughed “That’s creepy. Like they’ve been listening to us talk about it.”
But Luke barely listened to her. Instead he had been transported back to 1987. He had just found the old Led Zeppelin EP in one of his dad’s boxes he kept into the attic. He had immediately called (Y/N) to meet him in the treehouse. They had been listening to the songs when suddenly (Y/N) had told him about her best female friend (Y/F/N), who had told her that she had kissed Fynn, a boy from their class. “Like a real kiss? On their lips?” Luke had asked with wide eyes. He, of course, had asked her if she ever had kissed a boy on the lips. (Y/N) had admitted that she had never. In her childish recklessness, or could it be her boldness, she had told him that he was the only one who she would have wanted to kiss. Luke remembered how nervous he had been, when (Y/N) had leaned in, ‘Whole Lotta Love’ playing in the background when their lips touched but for a short second.
Luke looked wide-eyed at the girl in front of him, who didn’t know the memory that was playing in his head at the moment. His gaze fell from her eyes to her lips. Maybe Bobby had been right. Maybe (Y/N) hadn’t really changed that much and maybe he still had those feelings he had for her when he was smaller. He quickly shook his head. He couldn’t have those thoughts. (Y/N) was here with someone else. “So where’s your shadow?” He asked, referring to Brandon. He turned to the bar to order a coke.
She sighed “Having a smoke.”
“Already missing him?” He laughed.
(Y/N) huffed, slightly annoyed. “Yeah, sure.”
“I thought you were a thing?” Luke asked, turning to her again.
(Y/N) furrowed her brows “Who told you that?”
“Nobody. I just thought because you always sneak out to meet him and because you’re here together…?” He shrugged.
(Y/N) laughed. “No, I mean it’s fun to hang out but I would never...I mean...he’s a player and only plays with girls.”
Luke looked at her amused. “So you’re just hanging out with him for the sake of hanging out?” (Y/N) nodded.
“I was just tired of everything. Of my life. It seemed like a good escape, you know? But now...it’s really hard to make it clear to him that nothing will ever happen.”
“Just be careful, alright? I don’t think he’ll let you get off the hook so easy.”
(Y/N) shook her head “Soon he’ll get tired of me and look for someone else.”
“And what about you then?”
(Y/N) took a deep breath and turned to him, something obviously weighing heavily on her mind. “Luke, I-” She started, but before she could finish her sentence they were interrupted as an arm found his way around (Y/N) shoulder.
“I’m back.” Brandon smirked, eying Luke suspiciously.
“Hey Brandon.” Luke smirked, annoyance evident in his gaze, before turning to (Y/N) again. “It was nice catching up, (Y/N). See ya around.” With that he made his way through the crowd, trying to stop himself from thinking about (Y/N).
--
Days passed. Once again, Luke barely saw (Y/N) apart from their classes. He was sitting in his room, writing down the lyrics to a song that had been stuck in his mind for days, when suddenly the doorbell rang. He ran down the hall of the family’s ranch style home and was met with her beautiful eyes, when he opened the door. “(Y/N)! So good to see you!” Emily greeted with a big smile, appearing behind Luke. “Come on in.” Luke stepped aside to let the girl inside. With a questioning glance, he looked to his mother. “I called (Y/N)’s parents to ask if she could help you in french. I think that would be better than having to go all the way to Bobby’s, right?”
Luke nodded slowly “Uhm, yeah. Sounds good. Uhm, we could go into my room?” He suggested, looking at Emily.
His mother nodded “Yes, but leave the door open. I’ll bring you some snacks.”
Luke nodded in agreement and turned to (Y/N). “Shall we?” (Y/N) nodded in reply and followed him down the hall to his bedroom. “Take a seat, I guess.” He pointed to the chair in front of his desk as he took a seat on the bed. “What are you doing here?”
“Helping you in french.” She laughed.
Luke nodded slowly, a sly, teasing smirk appearing on his face. “And, uh, is Brandon alright with you hanging out with me?”
“Who cares?” (Y/N) rolled her eyes at the mention of his name. “Right after your concert I told him I couldn’t see him anymore.”
Luke furrowed his brows. “Why?”
“As I already told you, at first it was just an escape but...he wanted to do more the entire time and I just didn’t want to...at least not with him.” She laughed.
Luke looked at her, a playful glint in his eye. “Not with him, huh? So someone else has caught your eye then?” he laughed.
(Y/N) shrugged, casting her glance downward. “Maybe. But that won’t happen, so…”
“Why not?”
(Y/N) sighed, nervously keeping her gaze trained to the ground, before looking up at him again. “Luke...you see...I know we haven’t had that much contact over the last few years, but...I wish it was different and I’m sorry. I thought...well I had hoped...“ She paused, inhaling deeply. “Maybe we could start over? Being friends again?” She asked, hope evident in her voice.
Suddenly Luke felt his heartbeat just a tiny bit faster. “Friends?” He croaked, before clearing his throat. “You mean like back in the day?”
(Y/N) nodded. “Yeah, and uhm maybe…” She nervously played with the necklace around her neck. Luke’s eyes drifted to the pendant. It was the necklace he had given her when she had turned seven. Inside it he had put a picture of the both of them. (Y/N) eyes softened when she saw what Luke was looking at. She took the chain from around her neck and slowly took his hand, placing it in his palm. She looked expectantly at it before looking up at him. Luke opened it and found himself looking at his and (Y/N)’s younger selves. In the picture he had his arm slung around her shoulders. Both of them were smiling brightly.
Luke sighed as he smiled at the memory of that day. “I had a little crush on you back then.” He admitted quietly, staring at the toothy grin of her younger version.
“You did?” (Y/N) asked.
He nodded, his eyes never leaving the picture. “I was so sad when we stopped talking, but it...it had just happened, right?”
“I wish it hadn’t...I uh...I had a crush on you, too.” she murmured.
Luke laughed quietly, the pieces of the puzzle slowly falling into place. “So if we want to go back to how it was then…”
“You would have a crush on me?” (Y/N) smiled hopefully.
Luke shrugged. “Maybe I still do.” He felt his cheeks heating up as (Y/N) clasped at his hands.
“Maybe I still have a crush on you, too.”
Luke’s heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest. His eyes met (Y/N)’s and he couldn’t stop his smile from growing wider if that was even possible. “Just maybe?” He asked cheekily, as he slowly leaned in closer.
“Alright, so definitely.” (Y/N) giggled as their lips connected in a tender kiss.
--
“Please, you have to come!” Luke whispered into the phone in the kitchen where the landline was. It was already dark inside the house, his parents already having turned in for the night.
“Okay, fine. But you tell my parents that you have a good influence on me the next time they see us.” She laughed through the speaker, before hanging up.
They met behind the trees at the back of their yards. He leaned in to greet her with a short kiss. “I missed you.” He murmured, hiding his face into her neck.
“We just saw each other a few hours ago.” (Y/N) laughed.
“That’s so long ago!” He countered as Luke got onto his bike and looked expectantly at (Y/N), who stood on the tire spokes behind him. “Hold on tight!”
The venue was filled with people dancing and chattering. (Y/N) followed Luke to the side of the stage. “Stay here so you’ll have a good view of the stage and that way I can see you, too.” He said, looking at her with a wide smile.
“Knock ‘Em dead, rockstar!” She beamed at him, leaning in to give him a good-luck kiss.
“Alright, enough of that lovebirds. We gotta go!” Bobby laughed, interrupting the cute moment pushing Luke toward the stage.
Reggie smiled at them. “Look at all the people! It’s gonna be sick!”
Alex shrugged nervously. “I hope they like us...”
(Y/N) smiled at the other band members “You’re gonna rock this, I’m sure of it!” She hugged them and wished them good luck, before the band went onto the stage.
Luke’s gaze immediately fell to his girlfriend, who gave him a thumbs-up. He winked at her before getting closer to the mic. “Hey, we’re Sunset Curve, thank you for having us.” The crowd erupted in cheers. “Thank you.” He laughed “We directly wanna start with a new song. It’s inspired by a person who means the world to me.” His gaze fell to (Y/N) again, who was smiling at him. “It’s called Good Girls/Bad Girls.”
“She said to me forget what you’ve thought, cause good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught.”

Sleepyhead (Sunday Evenings) (Dad! Draco Malfoy)
Welcome to Sundays at the Malfoy's part 3! This is the sequel to Bubbles
Here's part 1 of this little series: Morning Chase!
And here's part 4: How about another one?
Word count: 1450 words
This is once again, just pure fluff with soft Draco
I wish you all a pleasant Sunday evening
What plans did the family have for Sunday evenings though?
▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎
Family dinner at Malfoy manor on a Sunday evening was always filled with happy and excited chatter. The family would talk about their plans for the rest of the evening and the next day. Sometimes you and your husband told stories about your time at Hogwarts. Other times, Scorpius would just babble about his favourite topic of the day. Said topic could be very flexible, it could be his favourite book, the weather, the hippogriffs, friends, you, other family members or even his toys.
▪︎
▪︎
▪︎
Another component of Sunday evenings were the baths before bedtime. Bath time was free from any sort of stress. It was relaxing, especially since the manor had enormous bathrooms and the tubs were just as big as you'd expect them to be in such a massive house. The bathtub was actually big enough for all three of you to fit and bath together. You normally helped your son with washing himself, in return he shampooed your hair or at least he tried. Most of the time he'd form your soapy hair into different shapes or braid and style it. Draco always scrubbed your back and often traced patterns with his long, slender fingers. It was a delightful sight for you, the two dearest people to you, in complete and utter relaxation. Both of their silky platinum hair now drenched and stuck to their foreheads, eyes closed and relieving sighs leaving their pink lips almost simultaniously as they leaned back against the rim of the tub, well in your son's case it was leaning back against you. Usually, the peace and silence didn't last too long because someone would always start splashing around with the water. Whether that happened by accident or intentionally didn't matter, it always ended in a bit of a water and splashing fight.
An additional fraction of your bath time were the silly games you played with the bath foam. It happened rather often that you'd create beards and other accessories out the foam. Inevitably, those games turned, similarly to the water splashing, into foam fights. There would be bubbles floating through the warm and humid air of the room because someone threw or blew it at somebody else. This part of your Sundays, was always fun and games and only on rare occasions did it came to an immediate halt that ended the bath. On those occasions however, salty tears fell because in the middle of the foam fight or when rinsing out the shampoo from your four-year-old's hair, a bit of soapy water would make its way into one of his eyes leaving it burning. Now, for an adult this wasn't too bad, it would burn slightly and that'd be it, but for a child, well for your child to be exact, it seemed unbearable. Maybe he was a little oversensitive or dramatic at times, but let's be honest here, what else did you expect of Draco Malfoy's son.
Time after the bath would consist of drying off in front of the fireplace. Everyone dressed in their bathrobes. For a small amount of time, you would sit there alone with Scorpius, drying his hair by ruffling it with a soft towel. When you were done brushing his hair, you would press a kiss to the top of his head, making contact with his still damp white-blond hair and then continue with drying and brushing you own hair. Typically, Draco would return to you at that time, carrying steaming mugs of tea or hot chocolate that he just prepared for everyone, with him. The warmth of the fire and soothing drink soon brought drowsiness over the little one's features and a cute little yawn escaped his lips as he rubbed his eyes and crawled into his father's lap where he got comfortable. Soft smiles appeared on the faces of Draco and you when the boy's eyelids kept fluttering closed.
▪︎
▪︎
▪︎
"Hey Scorpius" Draco would whisper softly as he lightly nudged his son "it's bedtime buddy" For the most part, the boy would stir in his father's arms at hearing those words and the feeling of being picked up. Only on seldom occasions did he not wake in the process of being carried to bed. The usual mumbles leaving his mouth in a whine "Noo, I'm not tired" followed by a yawn and more mumbles "I-I wanna stay up with you two!" A lighthearted laugh escaped your lips, it simply felt impossible to keep it in after you watched him doze off right after finishing the statement, which he had managed to form in his half-asleep state. Draco joined in on your gleeful laughter as he carried the smaller looking version of himself to his bedroom, with you always walking alongside him.
Once Scorpius was released from his father's embrace and his body made contact with the soft surface of his bed, he pried his eyes open again and muttered out a single word "story". This caused you to smile and scoot into bed next to him, your husband copying your actions on the other side of the bed. "Of course honey, you'll get your bedtime story don't you worry about it." you cooed and pressed a kiss to the side of his head, one hand caressing his silk-like hair "Is there a specific one you wanna hear sleepyhead?" Another yawn came from the child as he snuggled further against the two of you and got comfortable under the covers "the one- the one about the bowman that helps people" he barely managed to reply, voice thick with sleep. Scorpius closed his eyes, a content smile on his face. This caused Draco to arch an eyebrow in amusement, a sly smirk crossing his features. He wasn't opposed to his son hearing muggle tales, he had simply never heard his him specifically request one for bedtime before "the muggle story? I thought you don't like those stories as much as the other ones" he teased. "I like the bowman one" your four-year-old replied, forcing one eye open in order to look at his father and then continuing on with giving you a pleading look, a pout emerging on his face. You cheered "Robin Hood it is then!" Just like that, the pout vanished and the content smile reappeared. You started telling the tale about the archer who took from the rich and gave to the poor, thus taking on the role of a criminal. You continued on with the story even after Scorpius had fallen asleep, for it seemed that your husband had also taken an interest to the story line. However, you only noticed that because he seemed disappointed when you were about to stop in the middle of your recitation, so you had decided to continue and finish telling the tale of the brave and selfless archer.
▪︎
▪︎
▪︎
"Goodnight sweetheart, I wish you only the sweetest of dreams" you whispered before pressing a kiss to your son's forehead and quietly tiptoeing out of his bedroom, Draco following closely behind you. He shut the door carefully as to prevent any loud noises and thereby waking the sleeping child.
As soon as the door was closed you fell into the man's arms and he just let out a breathless chuckle "That story actually wasn't so bad" he muttered, causing you to giggle in return "I'm glad you agree, my love."
After a few moments of comfortable silence, you decided to speak up again. "I love you, you know that, right?" you mumbled against his lips before you kissed him. "I sure hope so darling, we started going out in fourth year, have been married for six years and have a son together after all." he teased, the cocky smirk that you loved so much adorning his lips. "Wow thanks" you laughed and your laughter soon turned to a squeal when you felt him pick you up. "I love you too (Y/n), I adore you, actually" he grinned before pressing a kiss to your lips and carrying you back to the living room.

Sunday evenings consisted of family dinners, long baths and water splashing. They stood for shaping, washing, drying and brushing hair. Sunday evenings meant foam fights, cozy robes and steaming hot beverages. They were cuddling in front of the fireplace, bedtime stories and bringing a tired child to bed.
They were to put it quite simply, calm and relaxed evenings, which were followed by Sunday nights.

What did the couple do on Sunday nights when the rest of the house slept, leaving only the two of them?

Leaving Immortality Behind
It turns out, Rex Lapis wasn’t really dead.
Xiao wants answers.
(A missing scene of sorts, for that first confrontation.)

happy birthday, to my baby yaskha! i almost didn’t finish this in time, but i did it for him!
It took three days to find him.
It wasn’t that the man in question was difficult to find. How could it be, when the Conqueror of Demons had spent millennia by the man’s side, had witnessed his many human forms over the years and could spot the minute differences between him and the other mortals? When he could feel the charge in the air whenever the Geo Archon was near?
No, it was more like a small - yet still significant - part of the younger Adeptus had been purposely avoiding looking too hard.
Well, he found him.
Part of him wanted to pretend he hadn’t seen him, wanted to turn the other way just long enough for the ex-Archon (and wasn’t that a punch to the gut Xiao hadn’t fully processed yet) to make his leave, so he could spend yet another night pretending his emotions weren’t currently battling inside of him, conflicting and confusing.
He’d thought he’d be relieved.
He was relieved.
But Xiao was also angry and betrayed and confused and upset, and it was such a whirlwind of unexpected emotion that he wanted nothing more than to manifest his jade spear and tear it all to shreds. He scoffed at himself; emotions were so insignificant to someone who had lived as long - and through as much - as someone like him. They were trivial matters he thought himself to be above, yet here he was, feeling like he was drowning.
“Eager to leave, Conqueror of Demons?” Moon Carver’s words still echoed in his head, as he settled into a sitting position amongst the green tiles that made up his current perch.
Very much so.
Perhaps it had been the wrong thing to do, to leave without ensuring Liyue Harbor was truly safe, but how was he supposed to face the other adepti and pretend like something sharp wasn’t sitting in his throat after the Tianquan regaled them all with the details of her dream with Rex Lapis?
Rex Lapis, who until that very moment, they all believed to be dead.
The very same Rex Lapis who was currently enjoying dinner at the table below him -  very much alive - and sitting across from a red-haired man that set his nerve endings on fire with the strange energy that radiated off of him. Energy that wasn’t so unlike the miasma that dripped off monsters and demons sent from the Abyss.
His eyes narrowed as he took in the details of his Archon’s companion and tried to ascertain whether he was a threat to his Lord or not. The red-haired man laughed loudly, blue eyes crinkling in delight at something Xiao hadn’t heard. He waved a hand towards a young, blue-haired allogene and requested something in Liyuen that would have confused Xiao even if the other man’s accent hadn’t been so atrocious.
Come and get what?
His train of thought went no further as he heard Morax gently correcting the other man’s pronunciation, and oh Celestia above, his heart clenched.
He was alive.
Xiao had spent several days believing that the man who saved him, who was the closest thing he had to family in this strange new world, was dead. He had also blamed himself for a brief moment - and anger had coursed through him when it was the traveler who came and delivered the news, rather than his own keen senses realizing something was amiss - because what good was a Vigilant Yaksha, a sworn protector of Liyue, if he couldn’t even protect the very Archon he owed his life to. If he hadn’t even known until it was too late.
Tendrils of pain snaked around his wrists and brushed at his temples.
He clenched his hands into fists, willing the burden of his karmic debt to stay away for just a moment longer, but it persisted. Perhaps this was a manifestation of his guilt, an all-consuming wave of bitterness and regret at not being there when the Exuvia fell. Perhaps it was his senses warning him that the man sitting across from Rex Lapis - Childe, his Lord had called him - wasn’t as innocent as his pink-dusted cheeks portrayed him to be. His fingers wrapped around the phurba dagger he wore around his neck as he watched them interact.
Whatever apprehensions he held toward Childe were slowly abated as they both listened to Rex Lapis regale them with the story behind the name of their meal (and oh! Come and Get It was the rice bowl they were consuming.
How absurd - why can’t mortals just call it what it is?)
It was familiar territory, however, to listen to the man’s long-winded stories of his nation’s history and its people that he clearly loved, and it soothed the sharp edges of Xiao’s grief as leaned back and let the former Geo Archon’s soft lilt and smokey timbre wash over him.
Rex Lapis was alive.
Despite his warring emotions over it - and the betrayal he could taste like iron on his tongue - it would have to be enough. He could find a measure of comfort in the scene before him.
The sun was nearly set now, the sky a rich twilight blue.
There were a few stars out, pale white and barely visible, but still present enough to make out the constellations he had long ago memorized. The bustle of Chihu Rock was beginning to die down as merchants packed up their wares and bid each other goodnight. Soft laughter to the right of him crescendoed as the doors to the Third Round Knockout were pushed open and people filtered out, their faces warm and bellies full of whatever food and spirit they had indulged in.
Lanterns were being lit now, their warm yellow light casting away the shadows that threatened the corners of Liyue’s streets. The smoke that had been gently billowing from an opening on the blue-shingled restaurant across from him had died down, as the owners - the blue-haired allogene and an older man - began to close up for the night.
“Xiangling, take this to Granny Shan before she goes home for the night, will you?” the older man asked his daughter, handing over a takeout container.
“You got it!” the blue-haired allogene returned, her voice young and full of life. She hurried out the door and paused at the only occupied table left, smiling down at the seated patrons who were finishing their meal. “No rush, you guys! I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
Rex Lapis poured himself another cup of tea in response.
“What’s in the bag?” Childe asked, as he tried to fish out the last piece of meat in his bowl with the chopsticks he was gripping entirely wrong. Xiao’s eyes narrowed at the sight.
“Leftover pork and spring onion dumplings!” Xiangling replied, already walking away. “Dad doesn’t like food to go to waste and Granny Shan is such a sweet lady,  don’t you think? Who else better to give them to?”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
This was Liyue at it’s finest, safe and full of warmth.
For a second he can almost pretend he doesn’t hear the harrowing voices screaming for death or feel the pain that’s thrumming up to his forearms now. He can almost ignore the memories that threaten to overtake him every time he allows himself a moment of peace.
The few days he thought Rex Lapis to be dead had blurred together. There had only been the steady weight of his spear in his hands and the familiar darkness that surrounded him whenever he donned his yaksha mask, as he lunged tirelessly and with a fervor that had worried the other adepti, as he seeked out every last demon and monster that dared to cross Dihua Marsh.
If any of them had been responsible for his Lord’s death. . .
He should have been better.
Eventually, Cloud Retainer had caught up with him and all but pecked the jade spear out of his hand. He had scowled at her, hands shaking with exhaustion as he held the tip to her long neck and dared her to come closer.
“One has been searching for you, Vigilant Yaksha.”
“One has found me.” Xiao returned, his voice sharp and mocking.
“Put down your spear.” she commanded, looking down at him. “Rex Lapis’ death weighs heavily on us all, but one does not leave behind a trail of bodies like you have been doing.”
They stared at each other for a moment longer before he allowed the weapon to disappear in a flicker of light that reminded him of tiny crystalflies dispersing into the sky, but otherwise remained silent.
“We must head to Liyue Harbor and seek council with the Qixing.” Cloud Retainer informed him, eyes narrowed as she studied him intensely. “It would be wise of you to come with. Their disrespect for Rex Lapis has gone too far - one should quash them for allowing such a thing to befall our Archon, but for them to sit idly by and do nothing while the Exuvia is stowed away. . .”
Xiao hadn’t been able to withhold a wince at the words.
Cloud Retainer’s voice softened at that. “If Rex Lapis has indeed been assassinated, then Liyue is in great peril, Baby Yaksha.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“We must not allow further disaster to bestow itself upon the land Morax loved - one promised to keep it safe, did we not? Rest for now, tomorrow we shall leave for the harbor.”
She hadn’t left him, but instead guided him to the top of Mt. Aozang where she dwelled, and left him to his own devices after gently pecking the top of his head. He had sat in a stone chair for the rest of the night, staring at Rex Lapis’ name carved into the table, and mourned the end of an era.
His grief - his pain - had been for naught, hadn’t it?
“I have to get going now, xiansheng.” Childe’s voice cut through his thoughts. He straightened up a little and watched as the red-haired man stood up and smoothed out his grey jacket.
“I understand.” Rex Lapis replied, his voice solemn.
Childe grinned down at the man and reached into his pocket, pulling out a pouch Xiao could only assume was filled with mora. “Oh, don’t look so grim! I’d love to stay and chat a little longer, but there’s some business I need to take care of, before I leave.”
“Business that requires the stars to keep watch?” his Lord returned, and Xiao could detect a hint of knowing bemusement. “Very well.”
“Oh, sneaky! You know I can’t disclose Fatui business to you, Zhongli. The walls have ears, after all.” Childe laughed and Xiao’s annoyance at this man’s audacity for speaking to his Lord in such a way was derailed when he spoke Rex Lapis’ other name.
Zhongli.
So this was the name he’d chosen to introduce himself as, this time around. It wasn’t a new name, by any means, but it had also been a very long time since Xiao had heard Rex Lapis - Zhongli - refer to himself as such. Not since Guizhong was still alive.
He watched as Childe paid for the meal and bid Zhongli goodnight, before making his leave towards Feiyun Slope. His crimson scarf flared out behind him and the metal grommets that decorated the fabric glinted in the lantern light. He thought he could make out the faint trails of wispy black smoke that followed him, almost caressing him like a soft breeze.
There was something dangerous about that man and he thought to follow him, if only because Xiao had vowed to never allow demons to walk amongst the people of Liyue. Childe was most certainly mortal, but Xiao would never again allow his failure to dictate the future of the harbor.
Except he hadn’t failed, had he?
Because Rex Lapis was very much alive, with his chin resting on his hands as he watched the retreating form of Childe with a solemn look on his face, his abandoned cup of tea no longer producing steam.
His grief had been for naught indeed.
And the relief that had followed had been short-lived, almost immediately giving way to his anger. The same anger that curled in his stomach now as he thought of how Zhongli had been silent ever since the big reveal. There was a part of him that had hoped the Archon would seek him out first, to explain just why he had faked his death without letting the yaksha - or any of the adepti, for that matter - know beforehand.
Yet three days had already passed and still nothing.
“You might as well come down now.” Zhongli’s voice cut through the silence, his back still to him, and Xiao startled. “I think we’ve both put off this conversation long enough.”
Xiao stood up slowly and stared down at the other man. Zhongli had yet to turn around and truly acknowledge him, still staring in the direction of Feiyun Slope and his departed friend. He jumped down from the rooftop, landing on his feet with the lightest thud, and approached the table.
Zhongli looked up at him once he had taken Childe's place.
This was a new mortal form Xiao had yet to see, but the locks of amber-tipped hair that framed his face and the eyes that shone like Cor Lapis that were present in every form Rex Lapis had taken, were the same. He eyed him warily, debating with himself whether he should speak first or not - whether he would even be able to produce the right words.
“Hello, Xiao.”
“My Lord.” he whispered back, bowing his head.
“There’s no need for any of that anymore.” Rex Lapis smiled gently. “I am simply Zhongli now.”
Something inside of Xiao crumbled. “Zhongli.”
“It is nice to see you well.”
The sharp feeling in his throat was back and he forced himself to swallow it down. He tried to take a breath, but it came out broken and staggered. Shame burned on his face at his unintentional show of weakness and he bowed his head lower.
“Oh, Xiao.” Zhongli breathed out and his eyes were sad. “Let us take a walk, it has been a while since I’ve traversed the streets of Liyue with you by my side.”
Their walk was directionless as far as Xiao was concerned. He trailed half a step behind Zhongli, eyes downcast, as he tried to compose himself. Anger was an easy enough emotion to grab onto, justified enough for the situation, and didn’t leave him floundering and vulnerable the way addressing his hurt did.
He stopped suddenly and clenched his hands into fists again. The tendrils of pain were growing in intensity and he used them as a way to ground himself. Despite his anger, despite Zhongli’s desire to give up his throne, he was still the Prime Adepti, still his Lord, and still deserving of respect. Yelling at him, as cathartic as it would be, was pointless. “Why,” he began, then stopped to clear his throat, “why didn’t you tell me. Tell us.”
“I couldn’t.”
Xiao raised an eyebrow and stared him down, refusing to accept that as an answer.
Zhongli sighed. “I fear my answer won't satisfy you."
"All I ask for is the truth."
"I suppose I can give you that." Zhongli mused, but his expression was pained. He looked towards Mt. Tianheng and gestured to the other side of the bridge they were on. "Indulge me, first? I would like to finish our walk."
Xiao nodded.
They reached the peak soon enough. Zhongli stood at the edge of the mountain and took in the sight of Liyue Harbor. The outline of the wharf stood proud against the backdrop of the black sea, bathed in silver moonlight that reflected shapeless patterns on the rolling waves. The wharf was the pride of Liyue, the reason the land prospered as it had.
It was a beautiful sight, even dark as it was with all the workers and merchants gone for the night, the last of the lanterns burned out. The Golden House glimmered to the right, that same silver light glinting off the metal finials that adorned its roof. In the far distance, the rock formations of Guyun Stone Forest loomed over the water.
He shivered at the sight.
The horizon was a beautiful one, carefully cultivated over millennia of hard work and bloodshed. The tendrils of pain wrapped themselves around him now and he held back a wince by sheer will alone, as he took in the stone spears placed by Rex Lapis himself. They kept the fallen gods pinned in place but the cost of their defeat still raged on as demons spawned.
It was his duty to take care of them, one he did with honor, for he would give all he had in service of the man who’d freed him. Even if the Archon had passed before him, for this was the land Zhongli loved - fought for and created - and Xiao refused to let harm come to the only home he had ever known.
Behind them and to the left, the mountain peaks and ruins stretched on, crumbling rock structures that had been formed by hand long ago, now weathered and eroded into an open book that spoke of the nation’s history.
Eventually the silence was broken when Zhongli decided to speak. "I think, if given the chance, there are many things I would do over," he began, "but I do not regret any of them, for when you've lived a life as long as I have, regret is something that can consume you.” He looked over to the ruins. “Even stone will eventually erode away."
Xiao stayed silent.
"Saving you, however, is something I would do again and again."
"My Lord -" Xiao cut himself off. "Zhongli." he tried again, but it felt wrong to address him as such. Either way, he didn’t have words.
Zhongli turned to look at him and gestured for him to step closer. He obliged and stiffened when the Archon placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently. "I am sorry for the grief I put you through. I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but it's also something I would do again."
Xiao winced.
"The truth is, Xiao, I'm tired."
"I don't understand."
"I have watched over Liyue for nearly four thousand years. I've been alive for much longer than that. Eventually, you start to wonder when it's going to end. I have seen Liyue grow and prosper in ways I hadn't thought possible. I have watched Guili Plains crumble into the ruins they are today when once. . .once, they were home. Now it is a place no one else remembers." Zhongli's grip slackened. "Liyue doesn't need me anymore."
"Zhongli-" Xiao began, alarmed.
"Breathe, my baby yaksha, breathe." Zhongli chuckled lightly. "It is not as you think - Liyue has simply grown past the need for Archons. It is ready to stand on its own two feet."
“I’m not -” he began, but gave up. “So you faked your death.”
“I believe that if I had simply stepped down, the Qixing would never truly step up. No, I needed to kill off the idea of Rex Lapis for good. The people of Liyue needed to understand that this was truly the end of an era.”
Xiao couldn’t stop the anger that laced his tone. “You felt this wasn’t something I - we - deserved to know?”
Zhongli’s smile turned bitter at the edges. “Before I could truly step down, I decided a test was in order, to see if Liyue was truly ready. I must admit, I did it simply to quell my own anxieties.”
“A test?”
“I wanted to see if the Adepti of Jueyun Karst and the Qixing could work together to protect the land, if the time ever called for it, or if the adepti would simply decide their contract with Liyue - their promise to protect it - would end with my death.”
“Osial?”
“Unexpected.” Zhongli admitted, and he looked towards Guyun with amusement. “Still, I had forced Childe’s hand and I expected something grandiose from him - that he was able to lift the seals that kept Osial imprisoned is impressive.”
“Your dinner companion did all of this?” Xiao asked, warily. “And you asked him too?”
“A bit more nuanced than that, but yes.”
“I see.”
Silence fell over them again as Xiao mulled over everything. “Speaking of your dinner companion. . .” he began, remembering the traces of miasma that had clung to the man like wisps of smoke. Zhongli’s expression turned downcast at the mention of his friend and Xiao faltered.
“He will be gone tomorrow.”
“Pardon?”
“I am pleased he indulged me in one last meal.” Zhongli smiled grimly. “Even after I used him as a pawn, he still dined with me. I have no doubt the betrayal stings him, but tomorrow he’ll leave for Snezhnaya and I do not know if he’ll return.”
Xiao let the conversation drop. There was no point if the threat would be gone tomorrow. He would simply keep an eye on his potential return and wait till then. He wondered if Zhongli could not sense the darkness that surrounded the man, or if he simply chose to ignore it. Neither would surprise him. He was cursed - blessed, some would say - with the ability to sense demonic energy and the stench of the Abyss.
It was the same for the other Yakshas, was the reason Rex Lapis had tasked them with fighting the demons that formed from the anger and hatred of the fallen gods, but now only he remained. If Rex Lapis - Zhongli, now - could not sense the darkness, Xiao would watch it for him.
The pain heightened and this time, he couldn’t keep silent.
“You are in pain.” Zhongli said matter-of-factly, for this was nothing new to them. Eventually the pain would overtake him to the point where he could no longer see and all he could do was persevere and wait for it to end.
“It is manageable.”
“Do you still have pain medicine?”
“No.”
“Do you wish for me to get you more?”
“Yes.” Xiao lied, because even after all these years, he still couldn’t find it in him to tell Rex Lapis the truth: that the pain medication he so laboriously made for him never seemed to work. The pain in the Archon’s eyes, as he watched the younger Adeptus suffer as a result of his own victories, hurt worse than the karmic debt that burrowed itself into his flesh and demanded retribution. “I would like that.”
Zhongli hummed. “I will prepare it in the morning. For now, when was the last time you slept?”
I don’t need to sleep.”
“Perhaps not as much as a mortal does.” the ex-Archon mused. “But it is still something one can indulge in.”
“It can wait another night.” Xiao deflected. “I still have questions.”
Zhongli shook his head and exhaled lightly. He sat down on the grass and adjusted his coat, so he wouldn’t sit on the embroidered fabric and patted the spot beside him. “If it’s any consolation, I won’t go anywhere.” He locked eyes with Xiao and smiled when the yaksha laid down with an annoyed huff. “You can ask me in the morning.”
“I’m still angry at you.”
“I know.” Zhongli murmured, shifting a little so he could place his hand on Xiao’s head. Gloved fingers carded through strands of teal hair gently; rhythmically. “I know we still have much to talk about, but we have all the time in the world. Sleep, my baby yaksha, and know I’ll be here for as long as I am able.”
Sleep would not cause the pain to abate - if only it was that easy - but for the moment, it became manageable. For the moment, his anger dwindled and took a backseat to the contentment that bloomed in his chest. For the moment, the world was safe.
If only because Rex Lapis was still here with him.
Tomorrow could wait.

The moment when Gon’s priorities start to change - ch. 64 and 65
While working in my meta of the separation scene (which will take some time still, sorry), I came across these chapters again: 64 and 65. Two of my favorite. As a linguistic and literature student, I’m always trying to catch hints in Togashi’s writing - we know he carefully thinks about each word used. Have a good read and keep in mind is just a thought -  and the dialogues and panels chosen to be showed in here are meaningful. This is not a deep research with theory references, but just some of the various examples of how artistic and textual strategies work in Hunter x Hunter, that they are not random and how even the slightest changing of words and switching perspectives can impact the story in order to provoke a reaction, meaning something to the audience, leading us to a way.
Anyways.
The boys had just finished the Heaven’s Arena, with tons of hints of how they would bond more and more, for example, Killua wanting to evolve with Gon in the same pace regarding both the Floors and the Nen training. The scene where Killua and Gon are meditating together, Killua getting more protective of Gon, as they soon become a pair.
They take a short well deserved break: it’s time to visit Whale Island. After all, Gon came to Kukuroo Mountain, and Killua wants to recollect what is home to Gon, too. Fair enough, it’s how I understand he’s self-inviting.
When they arrive. we are introduced to the fact that Gon, someone who deeply cares about his family, hasn’t called once since he passed the Exam. Of course, he got extremely focused on rescuing Killua and then training with him in the Arena, getting distracted. Not that he doesn’t care about Mito or anything, but he’s found something that kept his focus real heard. And Mito imagines what it is.
Their dialogue and her glance right after that hint why she can’t even be angry at Gon - because she’s not looking at him, only. Every time it would make sense to show only Gon but we get to see Killua by his side, too, is a visual message to the readers. Mito could’ve only looked at Gon, ‘cause she just met Killua and he’s not related to her. But she observes the meaning of his presence, even if Gon does not say it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The star gazing scene, one of the most important in the story and something we are very familiar with so, sorry to bring it up again - I know you all must be tired of seeing the same panels (but I adore it and I will keep using it). It starts with scenery that are important memories of Gon’s life when he was alone, now bringing a new meaning to them, someone to share with: Killua.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Killua approached Gon’s plans from now on, and after getting his answer, he questions what he should do. Gon says that he should come with him.
And here is another example how a simple choice of words - not only the words itself, but the timing when they’re said and the position, the “breath” between then, or even their absence - can mean so much as fantastic and complex storytelling strategies. Because Gon only gets to know that Killua, actually, doesn’t have any plan AFTER he asks him to join. He’s not asking because Killua don’t have it - he didn’t know that before he asked - but because he wants him to stick together. This is why it’s important that this request was said and showed before Killua elaborates on his feelings, so we can know that it’s not because “since you have nothing to do”. And fun fact: Killua is the only friend that Gon actually insists to not leave. The chapter when Kurapika and Leorio head to their goals, Gon just said “oh, already? - okay, see you/good luck/something like that”, with a honest smile. And I know Gon says “see you around” to Killua at the separation scene, but it’s also the first time he's shown unsatisfied with this decision, not smiling at all, implying he’s not okay.
Continuing, its Gon putting Killua in a place that no other belongs. It’s a re-signification of Killua, Gon’s favorite places, his home and their future - everything starts to change and take form to the audience.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To Gon, it’s about sticking together because they like hanging out. This is the main reason for his request, since it’s the first thing he says about it - and further he adds their individual reasons, to be more convincing, but the core is what it is.
Tumblr media
As we know, Mito overheard everything, specially the moment when they start to compliment her and Gon says she is his real mother. Then, later, we have chapter 65, now a re-signification of Gon’s relationship with Ging and Mito.
After accidentally hearing his words, we can interpret that she’s not that insecure anymore about losing Gon to his new found career. It was bittersweet when Gon left, after all “he is indeed his son”. But she realizes he’s different from Ging - he comes back, he values her, he could be in search of something he doesn’t have like news from his biological mom but instead, he chooses to embrace what he does have. Gon can’t even imagine how impactful his reassuring words were, and it’s also a opportunity for Mito to let out the resent on Ging and the Hunters, giving place to finally trust Gon.
And she tells him what the absence of Ging means to her. How she got hurt, but still wanted to have him around. And that’s when Gon takes Ging out of his place in his heart: it’s time to put him in his true place and make space for those who stay: Mito and Killua.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We don’t need to give titles and special places to those who are undeserved of it and should just perform a specific role in our lives as we let them. Mito herself craved for Ging’s attention, always running after him, seeing him only by his back, hiding/missing just for him to come to her aid. Gon realizes that it’s what he’s doing - he does not have someone to call a father, because Ging never make up to this title. He downgrades Ging to the same person Mito knew.
Tumblr media
And now, even if he still feels the urge to prove Ging he’s not weak and undeserved of attention, company and worth, he definitely is not the same person and does not want to be. Ging is not the “dad who I want to follow the same steps” anymore. And then, we go back to Killua:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“But Bea, what does this have to do with Killua? We’re only seeing Mito and Gon there!” Actually not! We’re seeing Killua too, but not physically. We get to connect Killua to this scene by a simple line Gon said one chapter before, about Killua’s meaning to his life:
Tumblr media
To Gon, it’s enough just to know this answer. Why? This line is VERY specific, literally the same thing he said to Killua in the previous chapter. He chose to bring it to table. It’s a soft - and literary - way to say his priority changed and to connect Killua to his objective. He reclaims Mito as his real mother, downgrades Ging AND shows what it comes first at his mind now - wanting to know if Ging had the same thing he has with Killua, stating his friend’s importance. “Look, Ging, how far I got. Who I took with me. Did you have this?”
And this could easily be sided with the end of Greed Island, when Gon says the first thing he’ll do when finding Ging is to introduce Killua. ‘Cause in his main goal now, the first things that come up to his mind aren’t being just like Ging and reunite with him anymore - it’s the “friend around my age”, it’s “Killua” and everything that refers to him. It changed. Gon was behind something he didn’t have, his father presence and some pride, and comes back with something even better he didn’t have either: a true friendship, who wants to be there and assure his worth.
And for me, that is the reason Togashi ends Mito and Gon’s conversation with a specific panel, not of them, not with a picture of Ging, not with the sky only... but with this:
Tumblr media
Killua. A person not mentioned in their dialogue directly, and someone who’s not family and isn’t in the same room as them. But that is there, respecting his privacy with Mito. This is there for us to catch. It’s not a direct exchange between Gon and Killua, they’ll still do it in their way, because its meant for us: when two characters are not showed together in the same situation/moment, but are referred directly or indirectly, it’s a writing choice that means “it’s for you, the readers, to connect this.”
Togashi could've never put the “did he have friends his age?” line that wouldn’t make a difference - we would go with this Gon “new approach on Ging” because of how Mito feels, and would be satisfying enough. But the author, with this sentence used in the previous chapter and this panel, it’s reclaiming the audience to catch Gon’s new focus and remind us of Killua, that he’s there, relaxed, patient - and does not intend to leave.
EDIT: I truly think Mito will play a major role in the realization of Gon’s feelings. She’s, since the beginning, an important person and a cog who makes his significations move, first subconsciously, now more actively - but I’ll elaborate more on that in future posts.
Not deep, not a serious research, but something fun to elaborate that is implied in text, i’m used to catch this stuff and seeing by this perspective by dealing with literature classes on a daily basis. Does not mean I’m an expert or that I’m right, but that is something I’m quite sure its on purpose. Hope you all enjoyed!

As She Falls
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Her wings pointed to the sky as she was pulled into Earth’s gravity. Her limbs were also pointed up, except for her head and torso. She watched as clouds passed her, the rough wind trying to crush her non-existent body into molecules. Even though she wasn’t in her physical body, she could still feel the wind? How weird. But she was uncaring of this, as she crashed into her hospital room. She could finally see how her body was, after all this time. She looked at it, finding her body looking pathetic. It was thin, overly thin, and covered in bandages. She was hooked up to so many machines, it was a miracle she was still alive. But while observing this, she heard the door in front of her open. Glancing up at it, she saw something surprising.
“Chloe? What are you doing here?” She asked, shocked. But she didn’t get an answer, since she didn’t have vocal cords or a way to voice her thoughts. Chloe stood in the door way, her expression pained. She started to mumble things, things that didn’t make sense. Chloe seemed crazy and possessed at that moment, but it didn’t matter to Marinette. She raised her hand to try and get Chloe’s attention but was covered in light. She was forced into the older girl’s body, into the girl’s very soul.
When she opened her eyes, the light had make her close them earlier, she was surprised to see a little girl in a hotel’s lobby. She was gripping a teddy bear, but seemed upset, maybe a tad sad. The girl stayed still for what seemed like days before she turned around and passed through Marinette. The girl stormed out of the room, tears leaving her angry expression. Marinette ran after the girl, finally recognizing her as Chloe. She found the girl again in a hotel room, where items around her seemed broken. Then a door sounded behind her and worried screams rang out. As this happened, everything warped and twirled, ‘til she saw  her Chloe, the teenaged Chloe. She was sitting on a couch, her expression somber. This time, though, she could see that Chloe was able to spot her. As she had glanced over at her.
“Chloe? What’s happening? Are you okay? Do I-?”
“How pathetic, Dupain-Cheng even haunts my dreams. Great.”
“What? This isn’t a dream Chloe! I’am really here, I’m fin-“ Chloe’s crazied laugh sprang out, startling Marinette.
“No need to lie, you illusion. I saw her dead body myself, I know she’s not alive. Not anymore.”
“But I’m fine Chloe! I’m just fi-“
“SHUT UP!” Chloe screamed, throwing a teacup at Marinette’s face. It hit her, causing blood to stream down her face. Chloe stormed up to her, her rage filled expression being the main focus. The blonde girl raised her finger up and pointed at her, her elbows bent.
“NOW YOU LISTEN HERE! MARINETTE IS DEAD. SH-she left me. SHE’S JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! LEAVING ME AT THEIR BEST CONVENIENCE!! JUS-just like mama. She’s ju-just like her-r.” Her screams became stutters as her voice became pathetic. Marinette’s eyes softened and she reached her hands around Chloe, hugging her tightly. Chloe started to sob, falling to her knees, bring Marinette down with her.
“WH-why?! WHY am I noT ENOUGH?!?! WhY-“
It was hours before the emotions inside her seized, leaving her feeling empty.
“I’m sorry Chloe. I promise I won’t leave you again.”
“Y-you promise?”
“I promise Chloe. I swear that I will wake up and you won’t be alone.”
As they hugged tighter, everything went white.
She was suddenly transported back to the hotel room, where she was not alone. On the ground, holding her hand, was Jon. He was sobbing, and looked as if he would collapse into a coma soon.
“Oh Jon! What happened?”
There was no response as she looked over his shoulder, he just kept crying. She laid her hand on the boy’s shoulder, where the familiar bright light surrounded her.
This time, she was alone in a house. But there was noise some where, it sounded pained. She rushed around, opening doors left and right until she found the cause. Jon.
She found Jon huddled in a corner of a kid’s room, sniffling. Her face lost it’s tension, as she sat beside him. She was ready to hear his tale.
“Did you know I can always tell when someone lies to me? That everyone does it a lot? Even ma’ and pa’ lie to me. Only you and Dames don’t lie that much, at least not to me. You tell me when you can’t tell me something, you try to be honest. But now you’re gone. And now Damian lies. No one tells me anything true anymore...”
“But it’s fine. It’s just like before I knew Dames! I can handle it...I hope. I’m used to you both being honest, so I don’t know if I can handle it now. So much has changed, some much is different...why can’t it go back to before you jumped? Everything was okay then- I could fix it! I could help you, I could at least try. But reality doesn’t work that way, right? Yeah. So I can’t save you, I can only imagine that in my wildest fantasies. Did ya’ know I used to think of you and Dames as my parents for a bit? I know you aren’t, but I just wanted to imagine it. Having a mum that’s not running off to get the latest catch, one that comforts me. Having a pa’ that’s not off saving the world every 5 seconds, but is beside me, even if a little reluctantly. But who cares? I’m just being ungrateful! I mean- who else wouldn’t want Superman as their dad? And Lois Lane, the famous and renowned reporter, as their mom? If anyone else knew of my position, they would want it! So why? Why don’t I want to be their child? Why do I want to be normal? To not tell when someone’s lying? I know it’s wrong and I’m just being ungrateful, but-“
“Jon.”
“...”
“Listen to me. Nothings wrong with you. I would love to be your mum, and I’m glad you think that way. It’s not bad to feel this way. Your emotions are valid. You are valid. I love you, I love you so, so much. So please, don’t think this way. I’ll be your mom, I’ll be anyone you want me to be, okay? ‘Cus I love you. I love you like a mother would love their son.”
Marinette raises Jon’s hand to her chest, smiling at him.
“See? I’m not lying, am I? I promise to never lie to you, no matter what.”
Jon stares at her, tears gathering in his eyes. His mouth twitches, he looked pained, sad.
“MAMAAA!” He screamed at her, lunging at her. He gather her into a hug, sobbing. He cried, cried for hours. He wouldn’t let her go, as he collapsed on to her. He cried into her hair, as she pat his back. Marinette hugged him back, caring for him like a mother would.
“...thank you..” Jon mumbled. Marinette only smiled in return, watching as he faded away. She looked up and reached for the sky, a bright light covering her. It felt right. She felt happy.
Marinette appeared back in the hospital room, now with a new person.
‘Damian?’
He said nothing as he grabbed her human body’s hand. His face was remorseful and sorrowful, his scowl now including tears and forced look. He was holding back sadness, she could tell. She wouldn’t let this continue though, so she walked up to him. She stopped right beside him standing straight. She bent over, and reached for his shoulders. She gave him one last hug in this form, before zipping into his body, ready for her next conformation.

Buy one get one for a girlfriend sized “boyfriend t-shirt”, a free cookie if you get 7 drinks, 5% off on your next purchase from Kucci and… Gasp! 75% off for a light sabre handheld immersion blender???
Do you even cook or watch Star Trek or whatever it’s called? Heck no.
bUT IT’S MORE THAN HALF OFF and it looks cool so might as well get it.
Right?
You saunter off towards the sights of free or marked down signs to start making damages.
“Ehem.”
The sound of your best friend, Taehyung’s voice, freezes you in place and you feel like a kid caught in the act of stealing a candy.
Literally, you have both your hands in front of you with your mouth open and watering.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?” His hands are placed on his hips, like a slightly inconvenienced Karen.
“Oh, uh...I was just, you know!? About to admire the general splendour!”
He was like, ya right sweetie.
“Shut up. This isn’t a Jane Austen book.”
Well, one can dream.
And lowkey, you were kinda expecting him to not get the reference.
…or even understand what you just said.
Damn.
You really need to give Taehyung some credit.
He is after all, your best friend and that is an achievement in itself.
“Focus, y/n. FOCUS. We’re here on a mission, don’t get distracted.”
Ugh, right.
Reality hit you again like a ton of bricks.
“And as if you can afford anything! Unless, you’re in for some service water.”
You scoff hard.
Though he isn’t lying.
See, the thing is, your family is rich.
Like rich 𝑹𝑰𝑪𝑯.
Like “rent a whole stadium for your dad’s morning run” rich
You, alone, though?
ʰᵉ ʰᵉ ʰᵉ
“Sorry, you’re absolutely right. We’re here for one thing only and that is to find a job! We’re not leaving until we get one.”
And that’s what you did for the next two hours
Job hunting
You might be wondering, “If we're so rich then why are we looking for a job?”
Well kids, let me tell you a quick story.
Here’s what happened
A week ago, you had probably the most embarrassing yet most eye opening experience of your life.
You were shopping
(like duh do you have anything else to do?)
And your credit card got…
Wait for it…
…………….
🚫DECLINED🚫
◉.◉
Like, that can happen????
Next thing you know, you’re on the phone with your dad and he is MAD
You don’t even know why he is so pressed about it.
Okay, so you maxed out one of his seemingly endless supply of credit cards.
BIG DEAL.
It’s not like he lost a bunch of money.
Maybe to a normal person, yeah…
BUT to you guys?
Come on! He can earn that money back in like two days.
Besides, he always goes on saying that he'd willingly give everything for you, his one and only princess.
bUT NOoOOoo! He has to teach you to be rEsPoNsIbLe with money! You need to be a 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏.
"What? You think I'm a money making machine here?"
Well, tbh he kinda is.
"You think money grows on trees?"
Well, technically, money is paper so...ya it kinda does.
"I don't slave around just so you could plunge yourself in all of your whims!"
Uh, actually.
You kinda do though if we refer back to your whole willingly-give-everything-to-you shtick.
So that wasn't real, huh?
ALL MEN DO IS LIE.
smh
Taehyung, on the other hand...
Well, his mother’s old but rich sugar daddy just recently passed away and unfortunately all his money and prized possessions were inherited by his one and only beloved son.
All they got was a couple of stupid jewelry, which did allow them to pay for a new (less glamorous) apartment, but still
Eh.
What a complete disappointment.
11+ years of being a sugar baby, all for nothing.
So now it’s back to the slums for the both of them.
Sad reacs for a fallen warrior.
I’m talking about Tae’s mother, not the sugar daddy...
THOUGh rip for him. Uh,,,,
He’ll be missed? I guess???
(1 like of this post = 1 respect for him)
DW about his mother though. She doesn’t seem quite fazed by it.
“This is why if you find a rich old bastard, make sure he doesn’t have any kids. That or have an affair with their kid. Oh well, on to the next one.” She told you and Tae during the funeral.
It’s been three months since.
She’s currently working at a hair salon and also,,,,
Taehyung thinks she’s seeing someone again cause she’s been using her designated “𝑠𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔” parfum.
WHICH you still don’t know if you should be impressed or be concerned about.
Nonetheless, you respect the hustle of this woman. ✊✊✊✊
Unfortunately, her efforts are still not enough to satisfy their expensive needs so that brings us to the present situation.
Actually, it couldn’t have been more perfect though!
You and your best friend coincidentally just happen to be in the same dilemma.
Kind of
Well, not really
Plus, it’s not really the most pleasant circumstance bUT STILL
The point is, you’re in this together and that’s enough for the both of you.
:’)
“Ugh, this totally blows.” Taehyung says as you both sit on one of the food court booths.
“Which one, us not getting any jobs yet or the fact that we’re hanging at the food court?”
“Get used to it, princess. Honestly, you'll find that the food here isn't as disgusting as you think they are." He says as he fishes for his phone in his man purse.
"Well, at this rate, I won't be able to get used to it since I sTILL haven't found a job. Why are the good stores so demanding? Like, an intensive classroom and in-store training only to have a possibility to get hired??? To think that I'm a loyal Louie Button customer!"
(A/n: This is actually a real procedure for Louis Vuitton, at least in my own experience. But I only applied and never went through with the training cause I figured that it just ain't for me.)
You continue ranting your little heart out about how you could sue these stores for unfair treatment.
Taehyung, though, has long tuned you out and has pointed his full attention to his phone.
This is turning out to be a lot more disastrous than what he anticipated.
So he needs to phone a friend in.
Orrrrr a couple.
He's getting desperate, okay??
The entire spring collection was practically screaming out to him when they entered Kucci.
He's a 𝓚𝓾𝓬𝓬𝓲 𝓫𝓸𝔂 through and through.
He hasn't missed a single Kucci season collection in years.
IN YEARS, PEOPLE!
He can feel his right eye twitch at this blasphemy.
"I'm telling you! These stores are absolutely ungrateful-hEY! Are you even listening??"
"No. I thought that was obvious the second I whipped my phone out."
( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
Rude
He didn't even try to deny it.
"You know, I really don't need you to be mean to me right now."
"Sorry y/n but this…" He lifts his phone up, "is more important right now."
What could possibly be more important than your current problem??
If you don't leave today with any form of productivity, you just might have to sell the entirety of your closet.
And we all know that ain't happening.
"By 'that', you mean?"
His phone vibrates a couple of times, indicating that he just received a bunch of messages.
He instantly opens them, disregarding you once again.
I-
Seriously, thIS bOy!
"Hello???? I'm still here and we're still hideously unemployed!"
He looks up to you with a smile that seems a tad bit too eerie.
Okay, this is somewhat alarming ngl.
"I called in some reinforcements."
Reinforcements... Huh?
What's that supposed to mean?
You stare at him with scrunched brows and mouth slightly agape.
And as if on cue, a male voice rings from behind you.
"Tae! We're here!"
"Jimin! Seokjin hyung!"
Ohhhhhhh
*Looks at the camera*
Them.
♫︎DUN DUN DUN♫︎
For everyone's information, Taehyung grew up a hair away from the poverty line.
He was in his preteen years when their family found success through his mother's sugar daddy.
He didn't grow up rich whICH there's NOthing wrong WiTh THAT.
A person's financial status does not define them.
Taehyung's friends, however, already have a collective definition in your head.
One word
༼ つ ◕◡◕ ༽つ MESS™
♫︎DUN DUN DUN♫︎
A hot mess you are so not willing to become a part of.
Tae keeps them away from you because he knows that they are not the type of people you would associate yourself with.
Which is why you've never met any of them.
...Until today.
♫︎DUN DUN DUN♫︎
Guess being besties with a broke Taehyung means it only makes sense that you finally meet them.
♫︎dUN dUn- ok that's enough of that.
"We got the Code 17 message. I can't believe I'll ever get that from you. This is history, man! We need to celebrate!" Someone says accompanied by what sounds like someone wiping a window.
You look at Taehyung with a very displeased look.
May god and every higher being out there give you strength.
He doesn't even look the slightest bit bothered by what might be one of the boldest crossovers to ever happen.
Also, "Code 17"??? Wth?
"What's wrong? You never ask to meet at the food court… And who's this with--oh." A different, softer voice talks this time.
"You guys remember my bestie, right? Y/n? Well, I think it's time you guys finally meet."
From behind you, Seokjin and Jimin share a slightly wary yet excited look.
Jimin, being the natural people lover that he is, instantly thinks that he's about to have another best friend.
From what he's heard from Taehyung, you two are slightly alike, being a total softie.
So don't be surprised if a montage of things like the two of you going on picnics at the mall garden or watching the premiere of the next Disney movie plays in his head.
Seokjin, on the other hand, being the woman lover that he is, instantly thinks that he's about to score big time.
He's heard a lot about you from Tae but the only thing that stuck (and pretty much the only thing that matters) is that you are HELLA rich.
$ ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕓𝕒𝕓𝕪 $
So are we even surprised that what he imagines is him breezing through the luxury section of the mall, with his personal butlers in tow, and having everyone swoon at him?
“Y/n,” Taehyung gives you a pointed look as if telling you to be nice. “Meet Seokjin hyung and Jimin, two of my other best friends.”
Alright, you heard that these people work here at the mall.
So you’re gonna have to suck it up if it means being stuck with them for god knows how long.
You just hope they have some level of bearableness.
(Oh and some form of acceptable fashion taste too please, thank you very much!)
As much as you're not in the mood to smile, you still plaster on the sweetest one you can muster and turn around to face the two----
Oh
(o.O)
oh oh oh oh ho ho ho ho
Hello
hELLO indeed.
One of them has a white button up with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, black slim fit trousers, and a brown newsboy cap like a cherry on top.
He's also wearing a brown apron with a small name tag that says 𝓙𝓲𝓶𝓲𝓷.
The other guy's more casual with his baby pink t-shirt, french tucked into his black ripped skinny jeans.
Personally, you wouldn’t really call them amazing outfits…
bUT SWEET BABY JESUS ARE THEY DOING THINGS.
GREAT THINGS
(Tbh maybe it’s their handsome faces that do it for you)
"Hi, I'm Jimin! It's very nice to finally meet you."
He extends his hand and you take it in a heartbeat because my god that smile.
Wooooooooooo
Now, that's what greets you into heaven.
"Tae says a lot of good things about you and I think- oof."
Cute pink shirt guy (rudely) shoves him to the side.
Jimin almost topples to the ground and it makes you want to stand and check up on him.
The poor cutie.
For some reason, you feel like Taehyung and pink shirt guy get along well.
"AND I'M Seokjin!"
This time, Seokjin swiftly takes your hand without any warning which leaves you feeling flustered.
“Umm… Nice to meet you..?” You manage to politely croak out.
He gives your hand a kiss and then drops you a sultry wink.
Thank god you're sitting right now.
You'd be a lying fool to say that that didn't make your knees weak.
But ngl, that’s a face that definitely greets you into hell.
Like, no offense to his handsome face but you are sure there’s something completely devious going on underneath.
No one can change your mind on that.
"OKAY! Enough introductions, we’ll have plenty of time for that later... Where are the others??”
“Hoseok hyung said that he's with Jungkook and they're on their way to get Namjoon hyung." Jimin says as he fixes his hat that slightly slid off.
"Well, they better hurry!"
Taehyung DEFINITELY did not have any reasons to cut your introductions off.
He just did not like how you are practically drooling over Jimin and Seokjin.
He’s nOT JEALOUS OR ANYTHING
It’s just...
It’s not like you’ve never been close to any hot guys before.
Uh hello???
HE’S HOT
And you’re with him 24/7
Wait…
Do you even think he’s hot???
Okay now that’s a thought he never considered before.
Damn bro
Now Tae’s having an existential crisis…
anD hE’s dEfiniTEly NOT jEALous!!!
ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
"WE'RE HERE!"
All four of you direct your heads to the sound of a new voice and you start to think that Taehyung might actually be playing a joke on you.
Come on!
THREE 👏  MORE 👏  HOT 👏 GUYS  👏
???
This can't be real.
This is literal heaven!
Gasp!
Are.
You.
DEAD?!
Maybe you're right about Jimin being what greets you into heaven!
It all makes sense.
“Dude, we came as soon as we could. We even pulled Namjoon out of his rabbit hole.” The handsome one wearing a sports jersey says.
“This better be important. I didn’t even get to ask permission to take a break! I’m supposed to be stocking utensils right now.” The handsome one wearing an atrocious outfit of a bright blue shirt and a much brighter yellow pants chimes in.
The handsome one wearing loose fitting jeans, a plaid button up and a black t-shirt underneath just stayed at the sidelines not saying anything.
Out of all of them, you think he’s the most stylish one.
Your eyes meet while you are assessing his outfit but he instantly looks away.
A noticeable blush blooms on his cheeks and you almost swoon.
Awww he’s extra cute.
“Yeah, cause organising cutlery is more important than a friend in a literal crisis.” Taehyung says in a sarcastic tone.
“So what are we doing here?”
“What is this ‘crisis’ you are referring to?”
“Yo, who is she?”
Namjoon, Jin, and handsome jersey boy all talk at the same time.
Ugh you need a massage.
Being surrounded by these broke handsome men is making you lightheaded.
“This is Y/n. You know, my other best friend.”
“Oh, your money buddy.” Handsome jersey boy butts in.
Uh EXCUSE YOU, WHAT’S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?
You scoff hard and loud.
Taehyung clears his throat and you thought he was going to make a comment defending you or something.
Oh honey, you are wrong.
Because for the nth time today, he just brushes you off.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Anyways, Guys, meet Y/n. Y/n, this is Hoseok hyung, Namjoon hyung, and Jungkook.”
You didn't think it'd be possible but for the first time ever, you so badly want to rip someone's hair out.
And not just someone, it's Taehyung.
Normally, a sassy, moody, rude boy Taehyung doesn’t affect you at all.
But then again, his negative vibes were never really directed to you.
And given the current circumstance, you’re also not in the best mood as well.
So you aren't as inviting as you usually are when you shook hands with the three boys.
Somehow, even their overflowing handsomeness did not do anything for you now.
Your presence, however, did something to the three boys.
AND I MEAN A LOT.
Confused, attracted, intimidated, confused, in awe, slightly scared, nervous, confused, hungry…
What? Hoseok hasn’t had lunch and coincidentally, he started feeling his tummy rumble when he looked at you.
…..
Fun fact: Hoseok is DEFINITELY NOT A CANNIBAL NOR HE EVER PLANS ON BEING ONE.
If ever you were thinking...
“Okay, so here’s the sitch.” Tae starts to explain your situation and everyone listens to him intently.
Little did you all know, the final member of the friend group just arrived at the food court and is now walking towards where you all are.
It wasn’t difficult to spot your group with Namjoon’s obnoxiously brightly coloured towering self and the few girls hanging around.
Probably Jimin’s fanclub.
“And so, here we are!” Tae finishes, keeping everyone updated.
"Wow, so you two are looking for an actual job? Like, here? At the mall??" A very baffled Seokjin asks.
Tae rolls his eyes.
"Yes. Is that really hard to believe?"
"Actually, yes. It is."
Another male voice is heard coming from someplace.
“Yoongi hyung!”
Oh great! Another one.
Surely, this guy’s not that interesting.
I mean, what are the fricking odds that he’s also an immaculate being??
You turn around and your mouth drops to the floor.
No no no no no.
No way!
Another freaking gOOD LOOKING GUY HAS WALKED UP TO YOUR GROUP.
Okay, this is getting unbelievable now.
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Like, where and how on earth did Taehyung manage to get and round up SIX insanely good looking guys??
What is this? Are you on The Bachelorette??
Wait no
It's like Oprah!
And instead of cars, she's giving away handsome men
You get a hot Asian man, you get a hot Asian man, you all get a hot Asian man!
OR MAYBE
Are you on MTV Punk'd?????
Statistically speaking, a hot guy can have two or maybe three equally hot best friends
BUT SIX???
ARE YOU KIDDING?
Is Taehyung like Thanos? Collecting the six infinity stones?
Thanos? lol.
If anything, he's more like Henry VIII with his six wives.
“So you guys didn’t even wait for me, huh?”
Yoongi, oh so casually, just takes a seat beside you
Without even giving you a single glance or whatnot.
“I didn’t know you'd be here at the mall today?”
“Yeah, what are you doing here?”
Yoongi raises an eyebrow. “It’s a free country, I can be here whenever I want to be.”
Well, can’t argue with that logic.
The mall is practically your second home at this point.
“... Also… uTunes is hiring and uh… I’m applying...”
You don’t understand why but everyone else looks either shocked or annoyed at Yoongi’s announcement...
Are you missing something here?
“Man, you need to give it up! That place can suck it.”
Yoongi gives Seokjin one of the scariest glare you’ve ever seen.
It could rival against your dad’s famous death glares that he gives to his incompetent subordinates.
Namjoon shakes his head disapprovingly, “You’re applying there again?? I can’t believe it.”
Yes, again.
This is going to be the seventh time he’s applying at uTunes Records, the most popular music shop there is.
So many people flock to it even though we’re already in the digital age.
But he doesn’t question it.
All he cares about is getting a job there because the employees get to play their own music in the store.
Do you know how much of a popularity boost that is?
A CRAP TON.
On top of that, one of the employees gets a chance to get signed by a record label every year.
And if you're not awarded by that chance, you can still meet agents and get signed through their many parties.
Because of that, so many people also apply for a job there.
But they unfortunately have such high standards which is why even after three years, he still hasn’t passed their vibe check.
"Listen, seven's a lucky number. I have great feelings about this one. Besides, I've built up a strong résumé. Winning one of uTunes' own rookie dj contests must mean something, right? They can't not take me!"
Wow.
You've only known Yoongi for a solid three minutes, but you can already tell that he's quite passionate about this.
"Hyung, all we're saying is that maybe you should consider doing something else? You could do so much more than run after that store." Jimin says and pats Yoongi's hand a couple of times.
"All of you perfectly know getting a job there could quite possibly set my music career!"
"Is that really it? Or is it because of a certain Daphne??" Seokjin teases him.
The rest just mutters an "ooh" or an "aah".
You seem to have been turned into an accessory.
You so cannot relate to anything they've talked about since Yoongi came.
It's like you're at one of your dad's social gatherings and all you can do is smile and nod.
"ANYWAY," Yoongi interjects in their teasing. "So Tae, you're also looking for a job?"
Jeez FINALLY.
Something you can talk about that involves you.
It felt like you were just back home watching some random show that doesn't require your input.
Taehyung gives an overly dramatic heavy sigh.
"Unfortunately, yes. Y/n and I both need one badly. But all the stores had been rejecting us left and right. Like, the audacity!" Taehyung rants all over again.
Jimin, listens to him intently as if he hasn't heard all of this before.
Seokjin seems to have been entertaining the surrounding ladies for a while now.
[by giving some ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎ and some (•̀ᴗ-)☞  ]
Across the table, Namjoon complains to Hoseok about getting in trouble with his boss.
Jungkook, well, he's just staring at the beautiful pizza this kid next to you guys is eating. (Someone's hungry too, okay?)
While Yoongi just openly stares at you.
Welp.
What the frick are you supposed to do now?
Is Taehyung or anyone going to properly introduce you two?
No???
Okay fine.
Seems like you're gonna have to get used to doing things on your own.
You smile at him and timidly hold your hand out.
"Uh hi. I'm Y/n. I don't know if Tae's ever mentioned me to you before but--"
"Oh, trust me. He's mentioned you plenty. He actually never shuts up about you."
ʰᵉʰ
Ok
You don't really know if he was stating that as a fact or if he's trying to be mean…
"Oh ha ha… That must be really annoying then."
"Yeah, it is actually."
Your small polite chuckle died down your throat.
Wow and you thought Taehyung can be rude.
hE'S STILL JUST STARING.
"Uh…" You finally lowered your hand that he obviously isn't going to shake.
That is definitely going in your top 10 most embarrassing moments ever.
God, can someone get you away from this guy?
What's his problem?
"SO, can any one of you help us? Like, any tips or something?" Tae concludes his really long and repetitive rant.
Everyone's eyes FINALLY focuses on Tae again.
Seokjin snorts loudly.
Eww.
He opens his mouth to say something but Tae immediately holds his hand up to stop him.
"Anyone except you hyung. I don't think you're classified."
Everyone laughs to that and again,
ARE YOU MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING HERE?
Seokjin raises one finger like he's trying to make a point. "If anyone is classified to give tips on how to get accepted, it's me!"
"Yeah, just not on how to last on one." Namjoon loudly whispers to Tae.
"HEY I HEARD THAT!"
Ohhh….
So,
Does he constantly get fired from a job?
Well, that's just sad.
Hopefully you don't end up like him.
😳
"Actually," Hoseok starts, "how do you end up landing on so many jobs? Like, don't they know your reputation?"
And that's your cue to finally insert yourself in the conversation.
"Uh, what reputation?"
"Sweetheart, you don't really want to know! It's not that big of a deal." Seokjin quickly steers you away from the topic but the other guys didn't allow it to happen.
"Oh, you know. Just that, he's known to be the "job eater" here. Cause he pretty much eats a job and moves on from it in a flash." Namjoon graciously fills you in.
So you were right.
That's kind of impressive though…
But a huge waste.
"Still! It makes me very much qualified to give the unemployed a tip!"
"Save it hyung, you might need it for your next job once you get fired from Uncle Aang's."
Seokjin gives everyone a sheepish smile.
What's that about?
It almost looks as if he…
"YOU GOT FIRED ALREADY?!"
"Oh you bet I did."
To be fair, how could he not stop himself from eating the free samples? Those pretzels are literal drugs.
"You just got that job four days ago. I can't believe it!"
"I can believe it." Yoongi says out loud.
Can't he say anything nice?
"Whatever! Point is, these stores still hire me no matter what."
"You know what, that is a good point." Taehyung mutters, slowly turning convinced by Seokjin.
Namjoon groans. "Are you for real Tae? If you want some job advice, maybe ask one from us who has only had one permanent job all throughout."
"Guys, let's give Seokjin hyung a chance!" Jimin, ever the sweet positive boy, suggests.
"Of course you would say that."
Not wanting to fade into nothingness, you insert yourself again in the conversation.
"I want to hear what he has to say."
Once those words left your mouth, you instantly regret it.
A.) Seokjin gives you another wink and gives you a flying kiss that has you weak in the knees again- I MEAN WHAT. I SAID NOTHING.
And B.) Yoongi is clearly not a fan of you sharing your opinions with the group.
Despite the obvious protests of Namjoon, Seokjin still gives his number one "professional" advice
And that is to have a perfectly 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 résumé.
"A high quality résumé? YOU? What the fuck are you talking about?" Yoongi says, slightly amused and slightly tired of the older guy's shenanigans.
"Don't believe me? Fine. But I'm telling you, it's all here on paper!" Seokjin takes out a folder from his backpack and waves it around.
Namjoon immediately snatches it from him
"5 pages long?? Are you for real?”
Seokjin hums and watches smugly with a cocky grin as the guys read through his résumé.
“Hang on, since when did you do balloon modelling?”
"I don't."
Hoseok gasps. "But bro, isn't that lying?"
"Yeah, duh! How else are these people gonna hire you? You have to sell them what they're looking for."
"What if they ask you to use these skills that you clearly don't have?"
"Then you're just gonna have to fake it till you make it, baby!"
Huh
No wonder he doesn't last long on a single job.
"And how's that working out for you?" Yoongi presses on.
"Well at least I get hired, Mr. 7th Time's the Charm!"
Yoongi is like ᶠⁱᵗᵉ ᵐᵉ ⁱ ʷᵒⁿ'ᵗ ʰᵉˢⁱᵗᵃᵗᵉ ᵇⁱᵗᶜʰ (ง'̀-'́)ง
"That's not really the point of having a job, but I guess, whatever floats your boat, dude!" Hoseok finally sides with Seokjin.
"So everyone is looking for a job then?" Taehyung realizes, "this is so cool if all of us get hired! We'll all face the real world together."
"All of us except Jungkook though."
Who?
Oh that extra cute shy boy.
You forgot he's here.
Boy really hasn't said a word at all.
"Did ya hear that? All of us are getting jobs!"
"You should get one too!"
"That would be so cool!"
"So what do you say? What are your plans Kook?"
"Guys, don't pressure the kid!"
The guys talk simultaneously, ultimately kind of pressuring Jungkook to say something before he even thinks about it.
The table falls silent and everyone eyes Jungkook.
The guys are like ( ・ิ ͜ʖ ・ิ) and ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
Jungkook is like (ʘ ͟ʖ ʘ)
Then the guys are like (≖ ͜ʖ≖)
So jungkook is like (¬‿¬ )
In the end, they are all like
(☞°ヮ°)☞ ☜(°ヮ°☜)
And through it all, you are just ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
What the heck is going on?
"Yeah, why not?" Jungkook simply concludes and the guys make various celebrating noises.
Gasp!
He can talk???
"Okay, everyone calm down! Let's wait until after everyone gets hired before we celebrate." Namjoon scolds everyone.
"Well that might take a while considering Y/n and I can't find one!"
Namjoon places a comforting hand on Tae's shoulder. "Oh relax, there's like ten thousand stores in the mall!"
"Actually, there are only 613 stores in the entire mall." Hoseok points out a matter of factly.
You all look at him dumbfoundedly.
Aaaand he just stares back at all of you.
Is this some kind of trivia that you need to know if you work around here?
Are you gonna have to memorise a lot of facts about the mall???
Oh, you don't like that.
Seokjin was the first one to react.
"Dude?? What the hell?!"
"I got bored once while I was on a break and counted."
Huh.
Makes sense.
Yeah, sure.
Why not?
Why wouldn't you just go and count the total number of stores out of boredom???
…
THAT WAS A SARCASTIC REMARK IF YOU DIDN'T GET IT.
"Even if there are 600 stores here, there are only like, 20 good stores that exist!" Tae remarks
You want to say you can't agree more but you stop yourself because you don't think you can handle another cold stare from Yoongi.
"Are you perhaps pertaining to the high end stores?" Namjoon muses.
"Yeah. What else?"
Jimin's eyes widen in shock. "Hold on. So you two have only been looking at that small section of the entire mall?"
"Yeah. Why?"
Yoongi chuckles condescendingly.
"Bros, you know that saying… 'Beggars can't be choosers'?" Hoseok tries to enlighten you two.
You and Tae look at each other.
What an epiphany.
A very disgusting yet important epiphany.
"Are you… Are you guys saying that… We need to find a job… Outside of that section??"
They all nod.
Ughhhhhhh
You and Tae make an annoyed sound.
"Welcome to the real world, peasants!" Seokjin warmly tells you.
Could things get any worse?
"Hey, at least we'll all be here together!"
Ha ha
Great . Awesome. Wow.
"Well, on that note, I really need to get back to work. Lady and gentlemen, may the odds be ever in your favour. Good luck!"
Namjoon stands and walks away.
One by one, the other working guys went back to work as well, leaving you unemployed slackers.
Hey they didn't even give any actual help!
Wasn't that the reason why Tae called for a… What did they call it?
Code something something.
Oh whatever!
Anyways,
So to summarize things
You might end up working at an awful low end store.
And you're unwillingly stuck with the wrong set of people.
One of them is a total flirt and an actual pain to society.
Another one might possibly hate you for unknown reasons.
This tall dude seems to be really uptight.
Then there's this guy that seems really weird.
The other one, well… He's cute and doesn't really have any negative points yet BUT you're sure something's wrong with him.
And the last one literally said one thing during the entire time!
Oh, you've got a really really long way before you can pay your dad.
Good luck to you, indeed.

A Gut Feeling - Tech x Mechanic!Reader | Soulmate AU | 1/2
Summary: You’re a mechanic working at the Republic station on Anaxes and your native instincts kick in when you meet the brains of the bad batch.
Warnings: angst, mentions of pheromones, reader not being able to express their emotions properly, slow burner
Tumblr media
The ambience was comforting outside of the station on Anaxes, the sun was setting quicker by each passing minute and you found yourself using a torch to see what you were doing as you worked on your speeder bike. Your hair was messy, you didn’t tie it back or do anything with it because you were either too lazy, or just forgot. You wore a grey boiler suit with the galactic republic crest on the chest pocket, sleeves unbottoned and rolled up. You wore thick layered gloves to protect your hands form getting cut with all the sharp objects lying about and also the small parts inside your speeder, you didn’t want to afford injuring yourself over something small.
You wiped the sweat off your forehead with your bare arm, noticing it had grime and oil on it which made you grumble in irritation. You were covered in oil and black polish, your boiler suit stained and black patches on your skin. Letting out a yawn, you leaned back and cracked your spine to relieve some tension in your muscles, sighing in satisfaction and managing a tired smile as you resumed your work on the speeder. You managed to prop the torch up somewhere where you could see what you were doing, you were too busy to be holding it and you wanted to finish up early considering it was falling to night fairly quickly and the clones were starting to go into their bunkers. Many stayed out though, patrolling the ground and chatting with either the Jedi or other mechanics such as yourself.
Screwing on a spring into the body of the speeder, you let out a puff of held in oxygen and fell back, sprawling out on the concrete floor and closing your eyes. You were exhausted.
You opened your eyes to see the stars starting to seep into the navy sky that blended into a purple, then a yellow. It was a truly beautiful sight, but this wasn’t the first time you’d seen something like this.
Your journey as a mechanic started way back when you were barely a teenager. Your father was born on Dathomir, a runaway nightbrother who ended up meeting your mother and then had you. Your father was the one who taught you everything, every little detail about every piece of tech and machinery. Your mother was a human which is why you don’t entirely look like your father, but your appearance is rather strange.
Your left arm, both legs, and the whole of your back up to the back of your neck are completely covered in Dathomirian tattoos, pitch black and very similar to your fathers own. Your mother highly disapproved of it when you first considered getting them, but you had never seen your father so happy and emotional before. They did hurt a lot of course, and thankfully your father knew enough of the ritual to achieve the tattoos. You were grateful you didn’t need to sit through hours upon hours of being jagged by a needle. That wouldn’t be pleasant.
You moved out when you hit 21 and you’ve been with the Republic ever since. You’re 27 now and you’ve been doing fantastic on your own. Your parents currently live in a small cosy cottage by the countryside on Naboo, so you’re unfortunately not able to visit them much but you call them every once in a while on your holo watch. Thankfully, they weren’t entirely by themselves. You had a little 16 year old brother who you practically raised since you were little, it was safe to say he cried a lot when you left. He takes from your dads looks completely, considering Zabrak males, especially Nightbrothers, are dominant in genetics if they have a son. Your brother got tattoos as well after you left, only he was completely covered from head to toe since it was tradition for a Dathomirian man to do.
You missed your family a lot, and it was moments like this that made you realise it.
Sitting up from the ground, you looked up and realised the sky had gone completely black. You’d been so caught up in your thoughts you forgot the time and realised there was hardly anyone left out on the station platform. You stood up clumsily, taking off your gloves and dumping your tools in the large red storage drawers beside your speeder bike. Closing it, you wiped your hands on your boiler suit and ran a hand through your hair, holding your palm against your head since a small headache was starting to sink in.
You returned to your bunker, getting in and immediately being greeted by Rex who you had been sharing a bunk with for the past few days on Anaxes. Approaching him quietly, you smiled and reached your hand out to fist bump him - a little thing the both of you done for a while -. You slept on the bottom bunk and sat down on it whilst rubbing your eyes.
“All the guys are asleep, change if you want to” Rex yawned, turning to his side and closing his eyes. His movements caused the bunk to wiggle slightly but it wasn’t enough to completely take it down. Smiling, you took the opportunity and stripped out of your boiler suit, replacing it with a white vest and grey joggers which you fetched from your bag underneath the bunk bed. You slipped underneath your covers and bid Rex goodnight, earning a quiet one in return before the bunk fell silent and you closed your eyes, preparing for a well deserved rest.
-
You couldn’t sleep. You’d been trying for the last 2 hours and everytime you closed your eyes, you pulled them open and stared blankly at the mattress above you. Your eyes stung, you don’t know why you weren’t falling asleep but you had to do something, whether it was play on your holopad or go for a walk. The second option seemed more appealing. You were heating up a storm as well so maybe you needed it more than you expected.
Silently, you slipped out of your covers and crept out of bed, pulling your bag out from underneath and taking out a baggy cardigan and slippers, getting them both on quickly before sneaking out of the bunker and opening the door with as much caution as you could possibly manage. You stepped out of the door once it was open and closed it behind you to stop the cold air from getting in the bunker and possibly waking the clones, alerting them of your absence.
You wrapped the cardigan around you closely, walking down the long ramp that lead to the stations concrete platform you were working on barely hours ago. You mustered up a tired yawn but quickly ignored it, walking over to the back of the station where Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were discussing the latest plot. No one seemed to notice you as you approached the back and headed for the small kitchen in the corner, preparing yourself a Caf to keep you awake and so you could do something. You kept yawning and turned on the Caf dispenser, waiting patiently for the dark brown liquid to fill your cup until it was full so you could return to the bunker in hopes it would help you fall asleep. Your tattooed fingers pressed a few buttons on the dispenser, adding a bit of milk to it before rubbing your eyes with the back of your palm.
“(Y/N)?” You heard someone call your name, humming softly in reply as you tiredly looked around to see Anakin Skywalker approaching you with a kind smile.
“Morning- or whatever time it is” You said, taking the cup of Caf from the dispenser machine and taking a cautious sip before nestling into your cardigan at the comfortable feeling of warmth from the almost black beverage.
“What are you doing up at this time? I thought you’d be asleep by now?” Anakin asked curiously, leaning on the wall beside you with his arms folded as he looked at you questionably.
“Couldn’t get to sleep, I don’t know what’s keeping me up” You sighed, taking another sip of the Caf to hopefully wake you up a bit so you could talk to Anakin in a better way. He chuckled, shrugging and taking a cup from beside the machine, getting a Caf himself.
“Caf is the last thing you should be drinking then, it’s 2:46 in the morning” Anakin teased, taking his cup from the dispenser once it was full and taking a few big sips of it, his gloved hand gripping the cup loosely.
“I’m not sure whether or not I want to stay awake and potter about for a bit, or make another feeble attempt to fall asleep” You joked at the end, earning a small ‘Hmm’ of amusement from Anakin who shrugged once more and downed the rest of his Caf, walking over to the kitchen sink and washing it out.
“You could hang out here for a bit until you feel tired, we’re not up to much anyway” He suggested, raising a brow and folding his arms once again after he placed the cup on the drainer beside the sink. You thought for a moment, contemplating what would happen if you stayed.
“Might as well, I’m not usually around this bit” You leaned off the wall, walking up to the holo table which illuminated with different pictures and camera footage, showcasing the mission that occurred today on what appeared to be a Separatist dreadnot.
“How did you manage to get ahold of the security system?” You asked with a frown, taking a step forward and rolling up your sleeves to point at the different images that popped up in front of you. Anakin smiled and went to the other side of the table, placing his hands on the edge of the table before clearing his throat.
“We found an old clone, Echo, he was captured by the Techno Union and was morphed into some sort of... human computer. He’s not in good shape, but he managed to give us access to all the things we needed in order to take down the Separatist fleet” Anakin spoke with a sense of pride in his voice, smiling to himself as he watched the clips play. You watched them with wide eyes and eventually they fell on a group of soldiers, 4 of them.
“Who are they?” You asked curiously, eyes focusing on each one of them and trying to see what they looked like but their faces were hidden underneath personalised, grey clone helmets.
“Call themselves the Bad Batch, incredible troopers... they’re staying on Anaxes tonight but they have to leave after that” Anakin said with a small sigh, walking around to your end of the table and watching the clip with you, showing each of them in their own fighting styles.
Somehow you felt a pull. Deep in your stomach you had butterflies and you didn’t know why. Your heart was beating way too fast and you couldn’t control it. But you stayed cool, regardless of what you felt. You kept a straight face on as you watched the footage ti the very end and pursed your lips once it was over.
“Interesting tactics” You commented, eyes still stuck to the end image of the footage which was of the smallest of the group. He had a unique helmet on, one where you could see his eyes through two orange lenses. A specialised visor was attacked to his helmet, acting as if it were glasses you could slide up and down on your head. He held two blasters, much like Rex, and the footage stopped on him shooting down Separatist droids skillfully.
“Something on your mind, (Y/N)? Your thoughts are awfully loud” Anakin laughed, causing you to blush furiously and brush his comment off as a tease. You smiled briefly but you couldn’t ignore the nagging at the back of your head, something inside of you was screaming and you didn’t know whether it was a good thing or not.
“I don’t know if it’s my Zabrak senses kicking in,” You said, turning around to lean on the table with crossed arms.
“But I feel a strange pull, it’s not the force, I would’ve known that by now” You sighed.
“I’ve never felt this before” Was the last thing you said before falling silent once again and looking to Anakin for a reply. He had wide eyes, as if he had the answer, but then it was replaced with confusion.
“Is it a culture thing? Your Dad was a Nightbrother after all, they have all kinds of culture” Anakin suggested. You thought about that for a bit, maybe he was right.
“I can’t be too sure, I’ll get in contact with him” You ushered the subject away, pinching the bridge of your nose before hearing something outside on the platform crash. Anakin heard it too and he perked up immediately, the two of you ran towards the sound to see what was happening and you were shocked to find the men Anakin had told you about, The Bad Batch. Two of them were missing, it was only the sniper guy and the sergeant of the group. You felt slight disappointment for some reason, wishing it had been the guy you saw at the end of the camera footage.
“Hunter, Crosshair, what’s going on?” Anakin asked curiously, raising a brow as he waited for them to answer him. Hunter let out a slight nervous chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck.
“My senses picked up something weird, thought we were in danger...” His eyes fell on you and he frowned, as if he was someone trying to remember you. You stood uncomfortably in your spot, maintaining eye contact with him until you had enough.
“Is there something on my face?” You hissed, crossing your arms and watching as Hunter raised his brows and cleared his throat.
“Apologies Miss” Hunter said with a sincere expression, taking a few steps forward before stretching his arm out to you and managing a smile.
“I’m Hunter, I thought you were a Separatist for a moment” He joked, causing you to frown in confusion. You took his hand, not wanting to be rude but you exchanged a glance with Anakin who looked just as lost.
“You thought I was a Separatist?” You asked in a shocked tone, causing Hunter to sigh.
“Not by appearance, I mistook your pheromones for danger” Hunter said in a quieter tone, quiet enough that Anakin didn’t hear. Your eyes flew wide and you held a hand over your mouth, face blowing up with a blush as you let go of his hand.
“Y-you can sense that? I’m so sorry-“
“It’s alright, you can’t control your biological insticts” Hunter chuckled, draping his arm back down to his side as you continued to hide your face in humiliation.
“It’s- it’s a Dathomirian thing” You explained, piecing the parts together yourself and realising what you felt back at the table when you watched the footage. How embarrassing. You projected pheromones for a man you’d never met, how desperate were you? You’re 27, not 17.
“That explains it, don’t feel embarrassed, just forget about it” Hunter offered another kind and assuring smile but you couldn’t shake the shame off. The man named Crosshair looked at you with a funny expression, verging on a sneer but he wasn’t judging you, he seemed fairly passive.
“What’s going on out there? Get to bed already!” A voice called out in the distance of a nearby bunker. Your head snapped to the entrance where the same man from the footage stood, only without his armour and dressed in a grey vest and black joggers. You froze on the spot, every muscle in your body tending which made Hunter look at you with a distraught expression, your nerves put his sensing into a car crash, he was so confused as to why you tensed up so suddenly but it didn’t take long for him to figure it out.
You kept your eyes on the man at the door, he didn’t have his helmet on so you could see all of his face. He was beautiful, his looks took the breath away from you and you felt your head get dizzy about how much you were thinking about him. He had pale skin, light brown, short cut hair and matching eyes. His face was fairly drawn out and his jaw was sharp and strong.
“Just coming Tech! Get back inside!” Crosshair yelled back, completely oblivious to what was going on.
Tech... that was his name.
But instead of watching Tech go back inside, he stayed dead still in the doorway and squinted when his eyes fell on you. You felt like you were about to pass out if you tensed any harder, this situation was suffocating you and you wish you could just vanish. Tech frowned, his face a mixture of emotions before taking a step out into the ramp.
Oh god, he’s getting closer.
“Hey! I said get back in!” Crosshair whined, walking up to where Tech was and shoving him softly. His actions made a wave of protectiveness wash over you, you had an urge to protect Tech.
“Watch it, how about you go inside!” Tech argued back, taking the briefest glance at Crosshair who growled in return and took his advice, walking past him and into the bunker. Hunter stared at you strangely, his expression a mixture of awkwardness and shock but he cleared his throat to ease the tension.
“I’m off to bed, good talking with you” He smiled, bidding you farewell before walking to the bunker.
“I think it’s time I hit the hay as well, take care (Y/N)” Anakin waved, causing you to physically gulp and realise you were on your own, getting stared down by the man you had been projecting pheromones to. This was more than embarrassing and out of your control to handle.
So you done what any normal person would do in this situation. Talk and hope for the best.
“Cold, isn’t it?” You rubbed your upper arms, trying to keep your senses at bay to Hunter wouldn’t be haunted any further by them. You had to control yourself.
“It is indeed, Anaxes is always cold during night” Tech replied, closing the door to the bunker and sitting down on the ramp, even that bit closer to you made you tense.
“You’ve been here before?” You asked, awkwardly walking up to him and sitting down about two meters away from him. Tech nodded curtly, looking up at the sky with his beautiful brown eyes as the ghost of a smile appeared on his face.
“Not my favourite planet, but the skies are always nice” He commented, leaning on his elbows as he leaned back to look up more at the sky. You hummed in agreement, trying desperately not to make the situation anymore awkward than necessary. But aside from your senses kicking off, you felt surprisingly comfortable beside Tech. A strange flourish of warmth slowly spread through your chest the more you spoke with him, it came so naturally to you.
“What do you do here?” He asked curiously, you grasped onto each word as if it were the last thing he’d say to you and you smiled.
“I’m a mechanic” You answered simply, scratching the back of your neck and rolling your sleeves up which revealed your Dathomirian tattoos. This caught Tech’s attention but he didn’t immediately ask about them. He kept his eyes on them though, glistening with curiosity as he looked back up to your face.
“How long for?”
“15 years” You smiled.
“Really?” Tech sounded surprised and it made your heart flutter, you were interesting to him.
“Yeah, my dads started teaching me when I was 12” You added, shrugging as you looked up at the sky and realised how many stars were twinkling brightly down at you. It seemed to perfect, like out of a vision you had but never thought would be real.
“You’re 27? I thought you were younger than that” Tech chuckled, causing you to grin once again.
“Perks of having a Dad who used to be a Nightbrother, genes are good” You didn’t know why you were opening up to Tech so soon after meeting him, something inside you trusted him more than anyone else and it scared you.
“That’s incredible, I’m guessing that’s what the tattoos are for?” Tech leaned over slightly to get a better look at your tattoos. Nodding, you slipped off your cardigan and turned around, pulling your hair away from your neck to show him how many tattoos you actually had. When you turned around, his face held astonishment, intrigue maybe?
“It’s in our culture, my brother has the full body tattoo but I just have a few, I’m not a Nightsister or brother so it would be strange. I have my legs done as well” You couldn’t stop the smile spreading on your face, your eyes focused on Tech the whole time as he shuffled closer to you.
“May I?” He asked, hands reaching down to your arm and causing your heart to skip a beat the moment you nodded your head and felt his fingers come in contact with skin. It was like electricity, and by the looks of it, he felt it too. He flinched back and frowned at the sudden contact but mistook it for friction and held your arm delicately as he inspected the tattoos.
“I forgot to ask you, what’s your name?” Tech’s question made you smile and you replied without hesitation.
“(Y/N), some people just call me the mechanic though” You joked to ease the tension in your chest and stomach, earning a chuckle from Tech who let go of your arm and leaned back.
“You’re the only mechanic around here?” You laughed at his comment.
“Only mechanic that isn’t a clone” You pointed out, sliding your arms into your cardigan once again and wrapping it around your slightly trembling body.
“Fair point” Tech shrugged.
A long but comfortable silence fell between the both of you. Both you and him stared at the stars with focused eyes and soon you found yourself lying on your back close by him, hands fumbling on your stomach as you felt your heart beat rapidly in your chest. This situation felt so foreign to you, even as a fully grown woman reaching 30. All your life you never felt something as strong as this, yes you’ve had partners in the past but nothing was as thrilling as this emotion you were experiencing was.
“You seem on edge, (Y/N)” Tech hinted at a question but he didn’t want to be rude by asking directly, keeping his eyes on the sky as his arms reached up to support his head. The way he spoke sounded as though he had known you forever, it was comforting to say the least.
“Just... a little confused” You said truthfully whilst tapping your tattooed fingers against your stomach, trying to distract yourself a bit from the anxious churn in your stomach. Why was it so hard talking to him?
“I understand you hardly know me, but do you want to talk about it?” Tech sounded genuine, sitting up a bit and leaning on his elbows as his attention shifted to you. You kept your eyes glued to the stars though, too nervous to look into his eyes as you told him what you were feeling.
“Another perk of having a Zabrak Dad I think, tonight my emotions got rubbed up in the wrong way and it isnt sitting right with me” You grumbled, frowning slightly as your eyes switched from star to star until you closed them over for a brief moment, trying to collect your thoughts.
“To be honest, I think I know what you’re getting at,” Tech smiled. “I feel a bit iffy about everything as well, it’s rather out of the blue” He shared willingly, your eyes snapping back open and immediately connecting to his as he kept a soft smile on his handsome face.
“Are you feeling it in your chest and stomach?” You asked, he nodded. Sucking in a sharp breath, you looked back up at the sky and your thoughts ran wild.
This could possibly mean something, was Tech your mate? Soulmate perhaps? Your mother told you stories of such things when you were little, she explained the feeling you get when you fell in love with someone. But you remember the way your father described the way he felt towards your mother and slowly everything started to make sense. Your Dad was always so passionate about the way he spoke about your Mom, he could go on and on if you didn’t stop him. She was the most valuable thing to him in the world and he spoke about the way he felt when he first saw her.
“My chest was tight, painful even, my breathing got a bit faster... us Zabraks tend to get a little intense with our emotions especially when attraction gets into the mix” You remember your Dad telling you when you were a teenager. His words started seeping in and you mustered up the courage to look back at Tech, who had now rolled over onto his stomach and was closer to you.
“This is weird” You commented, earning a chuckle from the mutated clone who nodded his head and made a small hum of agreement.
“It is, but it’s not unpleasant” He rolled back onto his back, only now your shoulders were touching and the back of his hand skimmed against yours. You relaxed at his skin against yours even if it was the smallest of contact, the tension in your body feeling as though it was flushing out and replaced with serenity.
You sighed, not out of frustration or embarrassment this time. You just sighed. Your eyes slowly started glistening with unexplainable tears and they were quick to trickle down your temple as you stared up at the stars. Everything came so naturally, if it were anyone else you would never let them get this close to you. But Tech was something special, you knew it. Whether he was your Soulmate or not, he was phenomenal to be around. You barely even knew him and yet you were so open and comfortable with him so soon which did lead you to believe there was a massive chance he was destined to be yours. Maybe you were thinking out of the box, maybe you were just feeling love and attraction even though it felt so much more than that. You wanted to jump to conclusions so bad but that wouldn’t be fair on Tech, you couldn’t just tell him there was a chance he was your Soulmate.
Sniffing, you let a few more tears fall and it caught Tech’s attention suddenly, his soft brown eyes looking to you before he leaned up slightly and looked at you with concern.
“Are you alright?” He asked in the most gentle voice, his hand unconsciously moving to tuck a strand of hair away from your face as you sniffed once more and looked away, giving him a curt nod as you tried to fight the urge to nestle into his touch. You did anyway, leaning your head into his hand as you raised an arm and used the sleeve of your cardigan to wipe away the tears of emotion on your face. Tech didn’t remove his hand from your face as he stroked your cheek, running his thumb over a tear and catching it in time as it trailed down your temple.
“Don’t cry, it’s alright” Tech reassured you but you shook your head, continuing to dab at the never ending fall of tears that you couldn’t seem to stop. This wasn’t fair. Emotions weren’t something you coped well with and suddenly it was all unloading into your head like a skip pile. You were overwhelmed, unable to find a perspective on the situation which made you upset. God, you weren’t a teenager, what’s Tech thinking of you? You didn’t want to know.
“I’m sorry, pelire” You mumbled, your voice trembling as you tried containing your tears as much as possible. Tech noticed after a while that your hand was gripping his tightly, your other balling a first into your vest as your cardigan sprawled around you and didn’t cover up your torso. It was cold, Tech knew that, but you didn’t cover up or stay warm.
“Don’t apologise... what does that mean?” He asked curiously, trying to get you away from getting more upset and sitting upright, looking down at you from above and covering the sky from your view slightly.
“Pelire... it’s Zabraki for something rare, something precious” You wiped away the final round of tears and sat up, careful not to knock Tech’s head as he still held your hand, unwilling to let it go. He processed the words and struggled to keep a smile off his face, the corners of his lips curling up slightly at your words. Tech squeezed your hand tightly and your breath got caught in your throat when he laced his fingers with yours.
Face to face, no words were exchanged as Tech leaned towards you and used his free hand to cup the back of your neck, his lips pressing against yours and catching you completely off guard. Your shock lasted barely seconds as you started kissing him back and moved your hands to wrap around his neck, feeling his own hands wrap around your waist as he kissed you deeper.
Things were moving so fast but something inside you was on fire, heat surrounding your heart and causing it to feel like it was about to combust as Tech kissed you with such passion. Your head was spinning with so many thoughts but you pushed them aside, they could wait. They had to wait. Your lips parted but only for barely seconds as you dived in for another taste, one of your hands running your fingers through the hair on the back of his neck whereas the other rest on his shoulder.
It was intoxicating, the feeling of his lips on yours got you obsessed. You wanted more, you craved it. But you stopped yourself before it got too far, eventually parting your lips from Tech’s and smiling at him with pure joy. He kept his arms right around your waist and rest his head against yours, the both of you closing your eyes for a moment, savouring the moment. You didn’t know what time it was but you noticed the faintest shades of yellow start to bloom out on the skyline.
“As much as I don’t want to let you go, you need to go back and get some rest, love” Tech said the last word with such passion, he sounded confident and proud saying it and it made you sigh in delight.
“You’re right, I should get going before the clones wake up” You sighed, hesitantly letting go of Tech as he unwrapped his arms from your waist, standing up first and offering you a hand to take. Without hesitation, you took it only to be pulled into Tech’s embrace once more. You were in a state of euphoria, gaining first hand experience of what is was like. Boy, what would you tell your parents? Especially your Dad and brother considering you all share the same physical genetics.
“I’Shuree, Tech” You smiled, looking at him with a beaming expression.
“I love you too, (Y/N), now go before anyone sees us” He smirked, kissing you once again with just as much passion as the last one, only it lasted seconds. You departed from Tech, feeling cold without him already as you walked backwards to your bunker which was pretty far away from his own. You yawned loudly, loud enough for Tech to hear as he let out an amused chuckle, enamoured with everything about you.
You turned around just as you were about to turn the corner and go out of sight, waving to Tech who done the same before turning around and approaching the entrance to his own bunker.
You returned to your bunker that early morning with a spring in your step, heart fluttering and all the tension in your body before was completely gone. Deep down, you knew Tech was your Soulmate, and you believed he knew that too by the way things went tonight.
You crept into the bunker and returned to your bed bellow Rex’s, seeing him completely knocked out as his arm draped off his mattress. Silently, you tucked yourself under the covers and drifted off into an immediate sleep, dreaming of one man only.
