Top 10 tips to reboot your body and kick start weight loss
1. Start Your Day With A Workout :-
      Set up your alarm 20 minutes early and schedule your workout first thing in the morning. Studies suggest that people who exercise in the morning are relatively slimmer and healthier than the ones who exercise later in the day. Carry the feel good hormones and energy throughout the day by doing your exercise in the morning.
2. Skip the Scale:-
     Don't weigh yourself daily, sometimes it just unnecessarily panics you and can be demotivating. Also, the scale can be deceiving as it ignores the fact that you might be adding muscle weight. Weigh yourself once a week and ideally in the morning.
3. Carry Your Own Snacks :-
    When I consult clients I have realised that their main meals are well managed, however, snack is an area where most of them end up going for unnecessary foods and jeopardise their weight loss. It's a great idea to pack your own snack at work or on the go. Make small packs of nuts and seeds, fruits, plain yogurt, chaach, sprouts, dark chocolate, chilla, cubes of paneer or cheese.
4. Eat An Apple :-
       This one is my favorite, and I tell most of my clients "eat an apple or visualise it. If you are not hungry enough to eat one full apple, you are not hungry, just bored!". Engage in fun activities or hobbies like singing, reading or whatever you fancy. Thinking about food all the time can be extremely taxing for your weight loss efforts.
5. Try To Eat Meals At Home:-
      For the next 10 days try to eat maximum meals at home. This gives you complete control over ingredients like sugar, fat, oil and salt that goes into your food. You will be surprised how fast you will lose all that extra flab by just doing this.

Day 26-ish of cleaner eating.
I say “ish” because of two reasons: one, my mom is such an enabler, and two, my brother came to stay with us for a few days and we did some food exploration. If you haven’t tried bao, or if you live in Austin and have never tried Bao’d Up, please do!
And you know what? I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I ate some not-so-clean things that were delicious and perfect and I’m glad I ate them. I also didn’t overeat, which has been a huge mountain for me to climb. Psychologically, I think my tendency to overeat has stemmed from two things: emotional coping related to childhood trauma and being raised by a single dad on a single parent’s salary. We didn’t waste food when I was growing up! I’ve been reminding myself to drink an entire glass of water before I sit down for a meal, or before I reach for a snack, and it’s forced me to slow down and gauge how full I actually am.
I made some more chicken salad that turned out (insert vomiting emoji here) because of the avocado I used. It was one of those big, bright green tropical avocados and it made the chicken salad taste boogery. Yuck. I’ve liked those avocados in the past, but I’m not sure I’ll go near one for a little while.
So instead, I’m eating almond butter and banana on a couple of rice cakes with a drizzle of local, raw honey on top! Yep, it’s rice. Nope, it’s not Whole30. I definitely want to try Whole30 sometime, just not at the moment.
I also stopped weighing myself, but I think I’ll start again just to make sure I’m on the right track. Funny how, when I hit 180 pounds, I told myself “thank god I’m not 200 yet! I’ll never hit 200!” and here we are, and it’s thanks to my eating habits. For a few years, I was a retail manager at a high volume, high traffic store. My job was literally on my feet for 8+ hours a day, sweating, lifting heavy things, climbing ladders, etc. and I still ended up gaining weight. Why? Because of my eating habits.
Diet is everything.
The weather has been positively incinerating outside (another add to the list of pros for moving to New Mexico) and I’ve had very little desire to step foot out my door. I need to get back into the habit of 3-mile evening walks with my pup.

Tomorrow, I’m embarking on my Whole30 journey. I’m the girl who’s tried everything under the sun to lose weight and make healthier food choices. My instinct is to say that nothing has worked for me... but, honestly, it comes down to willpower. My goal is to lose weight, sure - but even more so, my goal is to develop a healthier relationship with food.
