I think basically everything that can be said about that interview regarding Gale has been said but I did see some people be like “Well, but Gale is annoying and his stans are just woobifying him” and like.
Like, okay. Gale is annoying. And Lae’zel is mean, Shadowheart is a bitch, Astarion is a cunt, Karlach is happy all the time all the time and Wyll is boringly well adjusted. That’s…the first impression you get of them in Act 1. That’s not even their full arc in Act 1, that’s literally the first few minutes you get with them! And then all of Act 1 is just undoing all of that.
In Gale’s specific case, being annoying isn’t even his main flaw. Like it gets brought up, I think because the writers wanted to make sure we would know this is a flaw he actually has in case you, like me, did not even notice you were supposed to be annoyed by him. But it’s not a serious issue or something it’s even remotely implied he has to work on. They still all end up liking each other and working together and flirting at each other. He’s a nerd that talks a lot and unless you end up in a jealousy convo no one really cares. His blissfully happy ending is to become a professor. His infodumping is so good the narrative lets him do it forever.
Gale being annoying (or being bothersome for eating your artifacts) is the player’s problem. You don’t have to like him, you don’t have to like anyone, but the narrative is not there to make a big deal out of it. Why should it? Everyone is flawed and then they get better. If you ignore Gale for being annoying or stake Astarion for being a vampire or forget to save Mizora condemning Wyll to the hells it’s a you problem, just like it’s a you problem if you push Shadowheart to embrace Shar and then Shadowheart is cold to you.
Which is why the writers saying “Well, Gale is annoying so the fact that he sacrifices himself helps him redeem himself” is bonkers (just like rewriting Lae’zel lines to be more palatable is bonkers). Like it’s not just a bad take, it’s a “Gale was annoying so I ignored him the whole game so I don't know what his deal is” take. From the writers. Of the game.
And the rest applies to other weird instances of writing during the game. Like yeah, you can treat Gale horribly, you can treat everyone horribly. You can take advantage of Astarion, you can sell out Shadowheart, you can cheat on Wyll with Mizora and then tell him it’s his own fucking fault for not “pulling out”. But the game doesn’t try to imply that it’s funny that Astarion dissociates during sex. But it somehow is when Gale has to be persuaded into group sex, bolts and then the morning after he is like “Can we just never talk of this again”. And like Gale isn’t special in this regard, there is some stuff with Halsin, Wyll (no seriously what was that short) and even Raphael that is frankly appalling, but it really doesn’t help with the “we just never talked to Gale” vibe. Like if you romance Gale there is a line in the brothel where you can say that if you wanted boring sex you would have just had sex... with Gale.
Gale “I read tons of erotic books and I have so many ideas. Let's do it in the Weave so we can try as many as possible” Dekarios.
Also, nevermind all the serious implications, “He wasn’t ready for [his sacrifice] before but now he is” it’s like not even what happens. Like it’s not even what he says. I should not be reading an interview with the writers of a game and be like “did they just skip all of the dialogue”.
(That interview was also very weird about Karlach but also I just feel like that interview was weird in general, like they just were in a rush and couldn’t really talk in depth about anything so it was vague lines for everyone, it's just that those about Gale particularly sucked).

[Random Task force 141 × gen z! member headcanons]
A/N: Reader goes by the codename Teddy in my writing! Along with she/her pronouns :) I am also extremely biased with Ghost so her main pairing is more towards with him compared to the others <3. I know absolutely nothing about the military so this is not accurate I am so sorry💀.
CWs: Dark Humor, Age gaps, Simping, crude humor, cursing. (not sure what else but lmk!)
Chances are, you're the youngest in the entirety of Task Force 141. Just a good couple of years younger than Gaz.
When Laswell brought her in to meet the group, they couldn't help but stare at her in confusion. A tiny girl who couldn't have been older than any of them. Soap couldn't help but chuckle while Ghost nudged him in the side to shut him up.
"This is your new rookie on the team, her callsign is Teddy. Treat her well."
All the men nodded, watching the younger woman shyly smile and wave towards them.
First they realized that her humor was, in Ghost's words, fucked.
Any minor inconvenience had her saying she wanted to be hit by a car or some type of bodily harm, Price quickly whirling around with eyes widened. "Now, I don't think that warranted that kind of response, don't you think?" "Oh it definitely did, Captain." And she'd walk away without another word.
He swears he gets gray hairs from everytime you make casual talk of you dying. He actively tells the others to check on you bc he genuinely don't know if you're serious or not.
Ghost is not up to date with shit, man uses no social medias oncesoever so everything she spouts is wildly out of pocket. References to basic things like tiktok, Twitter, Instagram? He just silently stares at you like you're on drugs. You can't really use your personal phone on base but you try your best to explain memes to him. He sighs and rubs his forehead with a groan of "I'm too old for this shit, teds." "Oh come on! You have to at LEAST know the meme about the marines eating crayons!" "What the fuck are you on about?
The only ones who know vaguely what the fuck you're on about sometimes are Gaz and Soap, despite them still being a few years older.
Granted, they are not caught up with everything but they actively make it a point on leave to try and be up to date bc of you and your mannerisms. Plus it makes you happy when they fire back a quote they learned.
Can yall imagine Soap on tiktok, what random shit he'd have on his fyp bc he doesn't know how the algorithm works 😭.
Teddy has made every single one of them a personal playlist when she does have her phone, Soap once caught her adding songs and hasn't stopped teasing her since. Price and Ghost pretend not to care and barks at Soap to leave her alone but they're equally curious. Ghost contemplates stealing her phone to see it.
Doesn't matter how serious or dark their job may be, you simp for fictional characters, loudly. Price has learned to tune it out, Ghost although slightly jealous, finds it endearing, Gaz and Soap indulge you and will actively ask about why you like the characters you do and how much you love them bc they like to see you excited. It's a nice feeling when they're always in life or death missions.
You're the smallest one in here okay, everyone can easily throw you without batting an eye so they all take turns training you! They all despite knowing you can take care of yourself, would still like to teach you all they know so should you come against a taller/stronger opponent, you'll be okay.
You are the most protected person in the entire squad, esp when going out for drinks, Ghost will put you in the middle between him and Price and basically make a wall of muscle around you. He says he doesn't care and that he just doesn't want to be pestered by creepy people coming up to you but he will literally stare down any man or woman who even tries. He is the creepy one in everyone else's scenario. Soap just laughs and tosses back his drink.
They all notice your ticks and tells, seeing your leg start to shake when you're anxious, when you start cracking your fingers when you're restless, how you will avoid eye contact at any cost. They start to find ways to soothe you in their own ways. Price will give you a pat on your shoulder, sending you a smile.
Gaz nudges you with his body to take your attention off the situation, or he'll simply start asking you random dumbass questions just to see your face change.
Soap will, if he has gotten permission before, just pick you up and throw you over his shoulder, running around with you while you scream for him to let you go. Is also not against tickling you straight up to get you to smile.
Ghost tried to be as subtle as he can be. If yall are sitting close to each other, he'll make sure some part of his body is gently pressed against yours. Whether it be his foot, thigh, hand, some part of him will ground you. You try and reassure him that you know he doesn't care for personal touch but he just says to shut up.
Meeting Graves was a trip, for everyone involved besides you and Grave. Absolutely having no control over calling him a irl Fix it Felix. You were on Graves shitlist and honestly you wouldn't be surprised he betrayed yall for that one comment bc of how angry it made him.
Constantly being told to be quiet, but you cannot help it and will make little quips over comms. Ghost takes after you and starts to say horrible "dad" jokes that make you choke trying to hold back. Soap hates both of you and calls you unfunny.
They realize you're impulsive, especially when you show the amount of tattoos you have.
"I joined the military to fund my tattoo addiction." "You know what? That's not even a surprise."
Going home on leave is always a bitter experience, you never look excited to go home. So one of the guys (usually ghost) will offer you to come with them. It helps 3/4 all live somewhere in England so it's easy to see them/ take trips to their place.
They're all attached despite knowing better. They can't help it and they know they care for you so much more than other force members.
Ghost and Soap bristle when Alejandro makes a mention that he'd offer you a spot in his team, impressed with how you can take opponents twice your size.
"¿Te interesaría quedarte en México?"
"The Hell she will."

Ok
Baldurs Gate shipping and who I am actively in love with
SO, currently romancing Gale because Astarion rejected me, full one said “I don’t wanna have sex with you, UGH, EW, imagine.” But Gale is so cute??? I don’t get whenever I see hate for him, especially cause we had astral projection sex which was absolutely fantastic. Wyll kissed me but I said “haha nah Gale” and I think I accidentally romanced Karlach??? I don’t know. Oh I also hugged the Guardian love him.
Now for shipping
SHADOWHEART AND LAE’ZEL IS SO FUCKING REAL TO ME OH MY GOD THEY GOTTA GET DOWN RIGHT NOW
They ARE rivals to lovers
Wyll and Karlach… they’re best friends. I’m sorry but all the women look like absolutely lesbians to me and I love that for them
But Wyll is so sweet and so cute and I do adore him, he’s so fun, but I built him so badly haha. Anyways, he is a WHORE, he flirts with EVERYONE, SLUT BOY, and he needs a happy ending. Don’t know with who though. And Karlach needs a short woman to peg.
Astarion is 100% asexual and I love him cause he’s just like me frfr which means he needs to be with me and only me. But also genuinely I think Astarion can only be happy with a redeemed Durge??? Like I think that’s the best path for him. Two monsters learning to be good together… GAH ITS SO CUTE. Either way, he’d need to be with someone who isn’t overly horny
Also once again I absolutely adore Gale. Gale is so good and so loving and he also absolutely loves body worship like he is hozier he was on his knees and worshipping his Goddess Mystra, loving her and now HE CHOOSES YOU IN HIS ROMANCE. HE BDKDCJKWHCISJDKWJD. I love him, so who should he be with? He’s more on the basic side overall, easy to get approval from, but also extremely romantic and loving, and autistic just like me frfr. So… actually maybe Wyll??? Wyll has some self worth issues especially after going all devil and Wyll is also a romantic? But ehhh… I dunno, it just doesn’t feel right.
Anyways, Halsin. I love the daddy bear man like YES he is absolutely fantastic and I love him so so so so much I want him carnally. But also I can’t really see him with most people haha. Maybe Gale though, imagine the astral projection scene but then Halsin is a bear, that’d be hilarious. But nah, I honestly like Halsin/Astarion/Reformed Durge Throuple. Essentially, finishing Astarion’s personal quest before initiation with Halsin will ensure that Astarion doesn’t get any self doubt. They are all on different parts of their journey for improvement, both Halsin and Astarion have severe issues with self doubt along with sexual trauma, and all of them have a “beast” inside. Durge with the Urge, Astarion being a vampire, and Halsin with his difficult-to-control wild shape. Plus Halsin to me is one of the most respectful and consent-focused characters, which I think would work well with what Astarion needs.
Ok so I wanna ship Karlach with some cute bard girl or something, someone just as fun and nice as she is. And you know what? Wyll and Gale is starting to grow on me. They’re both characters who try to “woo” Tav before doing anything, Gale with the Weave and Wyll with his dance.
Imagine, Gale teaching Wyll the secrets of the weave, likely Wyll has never interacted with it properly as his magic comes from a devil. This could help unlock Wyll and on some level separate him from Mizora. Oh wow, both these men have been manipulated and abused by extremely powerful non-humanoid women. They’re both self sacrificing gits who want to be the hero, both sacrificed much for power. I think it would start when Mizora first appears in camp, maybe. Gale would go to comfort Wyll over the transformation, maybe even compliment his horns. During the night of celebration Gale would see Wyll by the beach and offer to show him something magical, aka the Weave scene. They make some jokes and Wyll mentions the dancing, Gale prods, and Wyll says maybe another time.
GAH
I FEEL LIKE A FUCKING GENIUS
Alright, so, summary
Lae’zel and Shadowheart
Karlach and cute girl (if Alfira survived Durge I’d choose her but oh well)
Durge, Astarion, and Halsin
Gale and Wyll
EDIT: This post is no longer accurate to my views or feelings on the matter! I will write another one eventually since I actually know the characters a lot better. This was legit written before I even got to act 2 and I barely did anything in act 1

Well, hello! It's nice to see an active total drama writer in here! I love this show so much and the fandom is like dead 💀
So, I had this idea...
It could be headcanons or a fic/one-shot, whatever you feel like the most!
But, what about the reaction to the TDWT crew to Chris bringing his niece with him?? Like, the reader is just a sweet 19 y/o teenager who looks for their safety and actually cares about them??? (Total contrary to his uncle lmao).
It doesn't have to be with one character specifically, most like how they would react overall to the reader wanting to protect them from Chris (AND PLEASE MAKE THE READER PROTECT CODY FROM SIERRA I BEG U)
Anyways, have a nice day!!! <3
~~~The Nice McLean~~~
I fucking love Total Drama!! I firmly believe Leshawna should've won the first season. I'll try to add my least favorite characters from World Tour to avoid being biased.
Warnings: Chris McLean, Sierra's stalker behavior, attempted manipulation from Alejandro, Duncan being kind of an ass, does Cody being a crybaby count? I'm making it count.
Pronouns: They/Them
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Alright contestants I have another surprise for you." Chris looked at the tired teens. From behind Chef came another teen. They smiled and waved to the other teens.
"Another contestant?" A few questioned simultaneously.
"Oh hell no. Their mother would kill me." Chris slung his arm around them and tugged them close. "This here is -Y/N- McLean, my nibling."
"Heya," their smile got bigger "I hope we can get along."
Everyone was too shocked to speak for a moment. Sierra was trying so hard not to flip her shit. Chris McLean's nibling was actually in front of her.
"So you're related to Chris?" Harold finally asked.
"Yeah. My mom is his sister." -Y/N- answered truthfully.
"Think of -Y/N- as a co-host. Another Chris of sorts." The older man smirked. "They'll keep an eye on you famous wannabes while I can't."
First of all we'll get the obvious out of the way, the cast fucking love you, after getting to know you. Obviously at first learning you're related to the devil host, Chris McLean, they immediately thought this season would be twice as torturous. But give them a couple of days or weeks and most of them would willingly jump from the plane for you. The others may take some time.
I'll start with the ones that take no time in becoming your fans:
Cody: for him the moment he saw you give a genuine smile was when he trusted you. Having dealt with Chris's shit for so long made him aware of a real and fake smile. Also when you demand Sierra leave him alone? Oh yeah he likes you even more now. Expect a lot of clinging, as much as he can, crying for one reason or another mostly Sierra and excessive praise for the small things.
Lindsay: my sweetheart, so pretty so.....not traditionally smart. She saw you looking super nice in your outfit and that was it. Anyone with fashion choices as good as yours are definitely trustworthy. Please become shopping buddies after the show is over.
Owen: this big lug. He really tries to see the good in everyone. More often than not he's wrong. But he's genuinely happy he's right about you.
Sierra: she knew about you before anyone else. Obviously she's going to trust you from the get go. You're related to THE Chris McLean. That trust may or may not waver...TBD. Either way watch yourself around her. Keep a close eye on your belongings.
The neutral ones who need a bit more time are:
Noah: he just doesn't trust easily. Take no offense to it. I think only Owen was lucky enough, being an actual giant ball of sunshine and stupidity. Perhaps if you sneak him some Noah-Safe food he'll trust you faster.
Gwen: poor girl has been scorned by the world so often. It's left her with a few trust issues. Maybe stick up for her and watch some good horror movies together. Reassurance is the key, she was painted as a bad guy from the beginning. Let her know she's more than that and it's okay to admit she did wrong. Help her move past that.
Leshawna: this bad bitch (lovingly) knows her worth. She wants to make sure others know it as well. Don't talk down to her and hype up her plans and ideas and she'll consider you worth her time and respect. Also keep Alejandro away from her. Please. My queen deserves better.
DJ: he's a softie and a Mama's boy. He does want to trust you. But after his failed restaurant with his Mama it might take some time. People in power never helped him or his Mama. In fact he wonders if they were sabotaged. Help him find ways to "reverse his curse" and he'll definitely trust you, also maybe offer his Mama a job as a chef, especially if it's a higher position in a private kitchen.
The ones who just straight up dislike you and take a long time to like you are:
Alejandro: his family caused him so much trauma. He doesn't trust ANYONE. He may act like it, nodding to your advice and being nice. But alas tis all a front. He's really just waiting for the perfect moment to betray you. When that time comes and goes and you're still nice to him? Yeah....you may have started chipping away at his walls.
Heather: the queen bee. The head of every group project. Highschool taught her to look out for herself. So did the first two seasons of Total Drama. She'll bitch at you and talk shit about you "behind" your back. Just brush it off and continue being nice and you'll win her over, eventually.
Courtney: the Type A Psychotic Crazies and debate team caused Courtney to believe only Courtney can help Courtney. She'll refuse to trust you and judges those who do. In fact it's not until she's kicked off will she finally trust you. Maybe meet up after the show and talk to her, she'll apologize to you and own up to her wrongdoings.
Duncan: the runaway delinquent. The hardass he is doesn't trust you, purely because of your last name. Chris ruined his life, more than he himself could have. Being stalked no matter where he went for 2 years put him on edge. Abolish Chris's stupid "must always sing" rule and his opinion on you might change.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hopefully this works. I didn't know what to do for most of it. I was winging it big time.
Something I really like about Silver is that no matter what the situation, he’ll always do what he truly believes to be right, no matter what may happen next.
Twst Spoilers
*Playland Event
*Glorious Masquerade
*Book 7
Notes:
*Overthinking and rambling
Two examples of Silver’s “fuck it, I’ll do what’s right” are in the Endless Halloween Event and in Chapter/book 7.
Lilia and Malleus are two of the most beloved people to him, they’re literally everything to him along with Sebek. Yet when they screw up he firmly tells them such.
He pointed out that in the Halloween Event that, while the two wanted to do something nice for everyone, the way they went about it was wrong as students could have gotten hurt.
In Chapter 7, Silver understands that Malleus wants to make everyone happy and not lose Lilia. However, he still calls Malleus out for trapping everyone against their will and is even willing to fight his master, despite owing the other for helping to raise him and the fact Malleus turns on him after this. Why? Because what Malleus is doing is wrong and he’s hurting people.
Silver is extremely empathetic; he does his best to understand others and why they do what they do. However, he does so without discarding the actions they do and the effects on others.
This is one of the reasons I wanted to see him in the Playland event as I want to see how he would react to someone he isn’t emotionally connected to doing severe harm.
Fellow and Gidel are human traffickers and are fully aware of what they’re doing, and the harm they cause and don’t care.
Kalim, who shares Silver’s good heart, wants to understand why Fellow is doing what he is, and try to reach a peaceful resolution. (Though in this case, I don’t believe he knows there are other victims, so we don’t know how he would react if he knew.)
Ace, on the other hand, focuses solely on the actions of Fellow in the present and the danger he’s inflicting on them and their friends. Therefore, he’s not even willing to consider a peaceful solution.
And the rest—as soon as they’re not in danger, they don’t give a fuck. (I think it’s out of character for Floyd and Jade who I believe would seek revenge, but I digress. It’s fairly in-character for the rest of them.)
I wonder how Silver would react in that situation—provided he was written in character. (And KNEW there were past victims.)
In the Masquerade event, he seems to let Rollo slide, but in that case he was handled by Malleus and when everything was fixed there was no lasting damage. Everyone was tired but recovered, so while there was fowl, there was no harm.
In Fellow and Gidel’s case, it’s different; there are victims, there is harm, lasting harm. People are still out there, trapped within their bodies, screaming for help that will never come while the ones that loved them are doomed to mourn forever.
Going to what Silver might do if he were at Playland, I think he would be in the middle ground between Ace and Kalim. Like Kalim, he’d want to understand and negotiate peacefully, however, he wouldn’t just ignore Fellow’s actions, past or present.
Silver’s an empathetic person. While he might empathize with how hopeless Fellow must have felt to fall with this point, he would also feel for the people who were hurt.
I know he’d call Fellow out and lay out what was wrong, but what about after? Would Silver’s words reach Fellow and make him feel guilty? Or would he just shrug it off and fight Silver till the boy was a puppet? And what after, assuming everyone made it out? Would Silver just let them go, or hand them over to the authorities?
Most likely, he would turn to Lilia who would tell him to let them go, or let them go himself if the two showed genuine remorse. See, as noble as Silver is, he isn’t a seeker of justice. His desire is to protect, not smite evil.
So, to wrap up, I like the noble side of Silver and am glad we get to see it whenever he takes the stage. Personally, I want to see that spirit of his challenged more by facing those with actual dark intentions where HE has to make a choice of how to handle them.
the main problem with kyle in the new episodes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok this is what RLLY bothers me abt kyle in modern south park ESPECIALLY in seasons 24-26 and i think a lot of people are getting annoyed with this shit too. i hate how they’ve been showing repeatedly how cartman’s getting better and acting nicer in the new episodes so like why TF is kyle still being a dick to him and treating him like a monster???? i mean for YEARS kyle has been going out of his way to help cartman and change cartman and making it clear he wants cartman to be a better person and make better choices, so then when cartman finally does he’s just like 😴. like idc if u ship kyman or not it’s rlly out of character for kyle. they’re still canonically close friends so it feels like a missed opportunity for character development on kyle’s end for them not to show kyle reciprocating or appreciating cartman doing better. i guess it’s bc matt & trey are trying to show kyle has been the toxic one and the jealous snake friend all along, but still even tho kyle is an asshole they don’t have to make him THAT big of an asshole. i think a lot of people like seeing kyle’s caring codependent side come out bc that’s the good side of kyle as a person how big-hearted and empathetic he can be. and there def have been some modern episodes where they DO get this right like especially in “the streaming wars” when kyle helped cartman out with his mom’s ‘surgery’ (even tho kyle deadass only helps cartman or feels bad for him when cartman is lying just to fuck himself over which i had talked abt before how he always gets the timing wrong with cartman for those who are caught up on your wendytestabrat lore). i also feel like an episode that DEF got things right with kyle was “help my teenager hates me” from s25. i loved that moment where cartman was crying abt how everything sucks and he lives in a hot dog and kyle is just like “ru okay cartman?” like bitch we need more moments like THAT. even if kyman doesn’t happen, idc like i just wanna see more moments of kyle being a good friend to cartman back (bc they def have given us A LOT of moments of cartman being there for kyle) is that too much to ask? but yeah in the images i used above are from the specials “post covid” (part 1), “south parq vaccination special”, “not suitable for children” and “joining the panderverse” and in literally every single one of these specials kyle’s being a dick and jumping down cartman’s throat when he aint doing anything wrong lol. in post covid he’s all mad at cartman for being a rabbi, even tho we all know cartman wasn’t faking it and was genuinely happy. in “south parq vaccination special” he gets all pissy throughout the whole thing when all cartman is trying to do is save the broship, in “not suitable for children” he’s getting all mad at cartman for making his own cred affinity group which last i checked aint a crime (and we all know he was just mad bc cartman wasn’t letting him in the group), and in “joining the panderverse” he’s getting all mad and annoyed over cartman being replaced by a black woman and he acts like cartman is making it up even tho cartman was telling the truth and there was this real parallel universe shit happening. like this shit needs to stop it’s getting soooo old and all it’s doing is making kyle unlikable af and annoying everyone who used to love kyle lol. like ok we get it matt & trey kyle can be just as toxic as cartman, now can we also see that he can be just as caring and nice as cartman too?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and btw this is why there have been less kyman rants:
Top 10 bsd characters oral scenarios: Francis Scott-Key
Welcome to the chapter of my 4th fav Fitzy:3
Contains: afab reader, no pronouns, fuck me till I forget trope, overstim, they’re married and have a kid, silly, reader is 30-35, some au where reader takes Zelda’s place and their daughter isn’t dead but he’s somehow still attacking the ADA??, idk just imagine he goes against them for a different but still noble reason, domestic, vaginal fingering, praise kink, come eating, overstim, p in v at the end, service top Francis
Everything seemed to be going wrong lately. Your beloved daughter was struggling with her school work, even though Francis had hired the best tutors available. You didn’t mind helping her with her homework, in fact you enjoyed the bonding time, but it was like talking to a wall a majority of the time.
Let’s not even get started on work. While the Guild wasn’t technically your group, you were practically the co-leader, as to be expected of Francis’ wife. Some members were beginning to show some hostility towards Francis, especially one specific farm boy, and it was getting tiring. You knew he wouldn’t ever actually harm Francis, as he was the man in charge of his payroll, but it was still exhausting.
Technically speaking, Francis is powerful enough to just punch John's lights out if he ever became too much of a threat, but you knew Francis couldn’t do that. As vain as he may seem, he is fiercely loyal to any and all members of the Guild, even Lucy who got kicked out some time ago. She was no longer a member, but she was still receiving many of the benefits, along with a new payroll from some coffee shop near the Armed Detective Agency’s office. And if worse comes to worse, she would still be allowed back with open arms if anything were to get too difficult for her, or if she was dealing with an ongoing threat.
Pretty much, she was still a member, but she wasn’t doing any of the dirty work anymore. Francis claimed he simply couldn’t bear to let her go out there all alone, which you understood. Lucy was a delight after all. She was polite, and honestly quite fun to be around. If you were younger, you could see yourself being genuine friends with her. You agreed to continue giving Lucy a payroll, under the condition that if she ever betrayed the Guild, all those remaining assets would be cut off.
To sum it up, things weren’t going very smoothly at the moment. You knew this would all pass once everything with the Armed Detective Agency passed, but as of right now..
You were stressed. Very stressed.
You haven't confided in Francis with your feelings, as you could tell he already had a lot on his plate. If you were stressed, you can’t even fathom how nervous he must be right now. The succession of this mission will result in either prosperity, or the end of the Guild as a whole if he doesn’t play his cards right.
Even among all this stress, Francis still managed to make time for you and your daughter to eat dinner every night at the luxurious dinner table.
“Francis, I’m sorry I didn’t make dinner tonight, I’m incredibly tired. At least the chef is available.” You apologized, as you normally make dinner, even if you don’t need to. He has over thirty-five chefs working under him, it’s a nice hobby though, so you make dinner. Francis says that even if it’s not professional grade, it has a home-esque feeling no other chef has been able to replicate.
“Don’t apologize, dear. Everyone needs a break sometimes.”
Francis brought his hand to your knee, and rubbed circles along it. His hand trailed up a little, just enough to tease, but he quickly pulled away as your daughter bursted through the door, presumably finished with her tutoring.
“Hey, sweetie. Have you finished your homework?”
She nodded boldly.
“Alright..tell me three things you learned. You’re studying ecosystems, correct?”
“Mhm!” She nodded again.
You gave her a look she knew all too well.
“Alright, well then, tell me three things you learned.”
Francis looked at you knowingly, knowing all too well she was having problems processing the information given to her.
“Uhhh..I learned about..precipitation?”
“Wasn’t that last unit?” You chuckled.
She looked to the floor, defeated.
Well, that’s a dead topic.
“Alright. I’ll quiz you again tomorrow, but you better remember something in that big head of yours!” You knocked her head gently and she frowned.
“Alright, I’ll try, I promise!”
As much of a face as you were putting on, you were beyond stressed. You were worried about her test scores. Even if she was only in fifth grade, she is going to a private school. Grades work differently there. Anything below a B- and you legally have to retake the class. What’s even the point of all the other grades, then? you wonder. Private school nonsense, is the answer you come to.
Just as you were about to let out an accidental sigh, you were cut off by the chef walking in with a large tray with dinner on it, along with a dessert (mainly for you and your daughter, as Francis preferred simplicities like tea). Francis, however, noticed your cut off sigh, and raised an eyebrow at you, unbeknownst to you. He decided to put it aside for now, and he looked at the plate of food in front of him, along with the cup of tea that was brought to him while he wasn’t looking.
“This looks good!” Francis looked at your daughter and pet her almost like a dog before grabbing her cheek gently, making her frown.
“Right, doll?” Francis questioned your daughter, obviously teasing her.
“Dad!” She yelled out, “I’m not a little kid anymore! I’m ten!”
He raised his hands in the air.
“Alright, alright. It does look good though right?”
She nodded furiously, before grabbing her fork and digging in enthusiastically. You and Francis chuckled, and when you made eye contact, he made a knowing look to you, before you two were cut off.
Your daughter swallowed her bite of food, holding her pointer finger in the air.
“Yum! Alright, so my friends want to sleepover at their house tonight, if that’s okay with you two.”
You looked at her quizzically.
“Which friends?”
“The two sisters.”
Ah, they were good kids. It was only five pm, and she did have her homework done, even if she didn’t remember any of it. It was also a weekend.
And of course, there was Francis. Considering the looks he was giving you, you could tell he wanted something out of you, and you’d be lying if you said you weren’t dying to find out what. You were even rubbing your thighs together once he had teased you earlier.
“Alright. You can. But you have to promise you’ll study at their house.”
Once you agreed, Francis smiled and placed his hand on your knee again, although it was rather innocent this time.
“Yes! I’ll call and let them know!” She ran off to her bedroom, before remembering one vital detail.
“Mom.. can I use your phone to call them?”
And now you and Francis were home alone, the only other company being the housekeepers packing up to return home for the day, and they’d be gone any minute.
You and Francis were going steady, with you straddling atop of him and kissing him deeply, ruffling his well kept hair with your hands. Although it was fairly innocent right now, you couldn’t ignore the strain you could feel against your crotch as you straddled him. Just as he couldn’t ignore how you were grinding up against his erection with each passing moment.
“Please, Francis.” You pulled away from his lips.
“Please what?” He teased.
“Please give me more.”
Francis nodded, and began to fondle your chest, rubbing circles along your nipples, pushing you over so you were now on your back with him above you. He trailed his hand down till he was prodding at your underwear, pulling it aside. You were only in your bra and panties now, and he was only in his button up shirt and boxers. So it wasn’t exactly difficult.
He pushed his middle finger inside your cunt, and he quickly moved his finger up to curl against your g-spot. When he dragged his fingers you trembled slightly and whined, making Francis chuckle.
“Looks like you needed this.”
Francis added another finger and thrusted inside faster, feeling you tighten around him. He smiled at your reactions, and kissed your forehead.
“You look stunning like this.”
He added another finger, and curled his fingers up to your g-spot harsher, and as he fucked you on the majority of his hand. Your eyes rolled back from all the intense feelings and you gripped the bedsheets. You gripped his wrist to keep him in place, aware of how much of a tease he could be at times. Francis chuckled, his voice riveting and vibrating against your skin. You couldn’t hold on anymore, and you let go of his wrist.
“Ah, close—I’m close..”
Francis sped up his movement, using his thumb to press your clit and rub circles against it. You arched your back up into his body and you finally came. The loud cry you let out went right to Francis’ ego and he got even harder than before, continuing to rub along your clit, slowing down his movements with his fingers. Allowing you to calm down from your high. Once your body relaxed and your orgasm died down, he pulled his fingers out of you and he licked his fingers clean before leaning down to kiss you again, making you taste yourself on his tongue.
“God, I can’t get enough of you.” Francis said once he pulled away, looking at your breathless face. Francis began to pull down your underwear, smiling at the small gasp you let out from your sensitivity.
Once he pulled your underwear down he continued feeling up your clit, relishing in the way you whined into his mouth as he kissed you. He needed this so bad. He was so tired, and you were proving to be a perfect stress reliever, even if he wasn’t getting all that much stimulation. He reached behind your back with his free hand and undid your bra, pulling it off your shoulders. You turned your head away from him, feeling a little shy. Which Francis wasn’t having at all. He gripped your chin with his dominant hand and looked into your eyes and kissing you yet again.
You were great at comforting him, but he was growing desperate for something that would help the ache on his hard on, so he straddled your thigh and started grinding against it like some teenager. He in turn whined into your mouth and groped you with his free hand. So much was going on at once, all you could do was grip his waist, wrapping your arms around him tenderly.
He was rubbing soft circles into your clit while leaning over you, helping you reach your absolutely ecstatic orgasm, your entire body practically giving out, with the only function left for your body to offer being to arch your back into him. The arching of your back brought your chest closer to him, and he almost instantly began licking at your chest at the opportunity.
It felt amazing, but it sent a wave of shock down your body and you jolted your back down into the bed, forcing his lips to detach from your chest.
“Are you okay?” He asked, looking up at your face with worry and regret covering his eyes completely, although he still had that iconic smile on his face
“No—no, it feels great, I’m just sensitive there as is, you going at it right after I come is..” You weakly got out, hoping that despite your underwhelming, tired tone you would get your point across.
That reassurance went straight to his ego, resulting in an aroused jolt (as if he wasn’t already painfully hard) on his end this time.
“Damn—I love you, s-so much—I want to—”
He didn’t even manage to finish his sentence before he was moving himself down between your thighs like a man starved. He tentatively licked at your clit and hole. It hurt a little because it was immediately after your orgasm, but it also felt phenomenal. It felt so good in fact that you rode yourself onto his face briefly before he took a hold on your hips.
“There’s no need to fuck my face, I’ll give you everything you want.”
And oh God did he keep his promise. He noticed how you were desperate for more tension, and pressed his tongue inside your hole as much as he was physically capable, stretching it out as far as he could reach. His thrusts with his tongue were emphasized by the way he tightened his grip on your hips, as he pulled your pussy onto his face as much as possible. Your legs were spread pretty far, considering how his head was separating your thighs, but it soon didn’t matter as you simply wrapped your thighs around his head.
You bucked your hips into his face, allowing his tongue to reach even deeper, and you cried out at your own movements. Francis’ thrusts of his tongue were driving you crazy, and you were starting to really forget about all the problems going on.
You didn’t have to worry about dinner right now, or tucking your daughter into bed, work was out of your mind, and all that you had to focus on was the miraculous way Francis worked with his tongue. No more stress today, Francis was going to make sure of that.
Francis was doing wonders with his tongue, kissing your clit whenever you whined particularly loud. He held your hips down with force, keeping you exactly where he wanted you. He kissed and licked at your clit, taking breaks every so often to kiss and nibble your thighs, it was sweet but you were going crazy with the way he’d switch from eating you out like his life depended on it to tenderly kissing your thighs, and in order to lock his head in place you gripped his hair, messing it up more than it already was from his rather stressful day. He throbbed at your actions and began licking and sucking your clit with even more determination. He moved his right hand up and put two fingers inside of you, curling them towards your g-spot, making you let out a loud whine and finally come all over his face.
You breathed heavily and slowly loosened the grip on his hair before letting go entirely, resting your arms on the bed.
Francis was known for being a man with a lot of self control, but he was absolutely desperate at this point and saved no time in kissing you quickly before pulling his pants down and lining himself up with your currently recovering heat.
“Wait.. Francis, I gotta recover.”
“Please, Dear. You can handle just a little more, just for me right?”
You nodded, unable to resist him. He treated you so well, he should get what he wants as soon as possible, right? You pulled him down by the shoulders and unbuttoned his dress shirt, his tie already long gone. By the time you were done taking off his shirt, he was already halfway inside of you, making you whine and tremble, and the buttons more difficult to undo.
Francis asked if you could handle a ‘little more’, but by the time he was done you were practically passed out. He went at it for such a longtime, you distinctly remember seeing white everytime you came. It was a strangely comforting feeling to fall asleep to. It almost felt airy, despite the aching pain in your hips from him gripping them so hard as he thrust himself into you. It felt like you were going to some second heaven, and it made you fall asleep with a clear head.
You fell asleep in Francis’ arms, holding him tight as he rested his head on yours, not having a care in the world.
You fell asleep with a smile on your face.
I feel like i need to reiterate what my opinion on the southern raiders as an episode is bc my previous posts about it are like 3 years old at this point, so here goes. I want to preface this by saying all of this is in fact my opinion and not me trying to state facts. I'm not going to argue who's right or wrong. I'm not going to debate it either. If your opinion is different: great! You're a human being that can also think for themselves!
In my opinion, the southern raiders is not a good episode. The only reason it exists, is because Katara needed to stop hating Zuko and start trusting him, and thus Zuko would be officially and fully part of the gaang. There's a reason they didn't give Toph a life changing field trip episode. It wasn't necessary in the narrative because Toph already pretty much trusted Zuko. Sokka and Aang had their respective Zuko trips, and Suki rode along in Sokka's episode. Katara was the only one left and for some reason this is what they came up with, and they crammed it in right before a filler episode so they could start of the finale.
I particularly dislike Zuko's behavior in this episode. I'm not saying it's out of character. I just feel like at this point in the story he should know better. First he doesn't understand why Katara is still angry at him. Then he gets to the conclusion that Katara has connected her anger towards her mother's murderer to him, which isn't false, but Katara is still justified in her anger because Zuko has also been very shitty towards her. Then once he has the information he needs from Sokka (who didn't ask to get involved and just wanted to have a fun night with his girlfriend and now had to recall one of his most traumatic memories) he just drops it onto Katara, first cornering her by waiting outside her tent to make sure he's the first thing she sees. He also tells her he "knows who did it." Only he doesn't actually know does he? He just knows it's the leader of the southern raiders, but he doesn't know where to find him yet, but he does know where they can find out so it's okay. They only need to ninja sneak into a highly guarded tower and get a the map. No biggie. Then they march over to Aang and tell him they "need to borrow Appa". They don't even ask him nicely, they just say "we need him". Aang is rightfully sceptical.
Now i know Appa is their only mode of transportation in this episode bc the airship is with Hakoda. But can i remind everyone that Appa is more than just a vehicle? He's a living breathing animal and also Aang's pet. And Aang has already lost him once. They're planning on taking Appa straight into the danger zone without Aang or any armor. And they don't even ask permission! They were planning to sneak out with him at night without Aang's knowledge too! What if Appa got hurt? What if they get captured along with Appa?
Then when Aang points out how this plan sounds insane (bc it fucking is), Katara immediately tells Aang he doesn't understand. What's weird about this is Aang is actually one of the few people there that DOES. Aang is a victim of genocide just like Katara. Within a few days he went from wandering the airtemples with the other kids and playing pai cho with Gyatso to learning his entire civilization and culture has been dead for a century. He was faced with his mentor and father figure's skeleton, and with the knowledge that whomever did it has been dead for a long time. He points this out to Katara, and Zuko dismisses him saying this is what Katara needs.
It's funny how Zuko's entire motivation for this plan in the first place is for Katara to stop hating him. It's entirely selfish, and he's essentially using Katara's grief for his benefit. But all of a sudden when they get stopped by Aang and asked to explain themselves Zuko believes this is what Katara needs. Now i am willing to believe that Zuko genuinely thinks this will help Katara at this point, as it seems like he's living a bit through her. After all he too lost his mother (although he recently discovered she is alive) and boy wouldn't he like to hurt Ozai for being responsible for his mother's disappearance. But this doesn't take away that this plan started with selfish motivations.
Aang rightfully points out that this isn't about closure but about revenge, and tries to explain to both of them the airnomad philosophy around revenge. Zuko, still wanting to go ahead with his plan bc he wants Katara to stop hating him, dismisses this and calls it "airtemple preschool". I'll rephrase that: a direct descendant of the nation that eradicated the entire airnomad population dismisses and insults the teachings of said eradicated culture. And it's played of as a joke? Because it's a funny phrase i suppose? Hardy har the oppressor is making fun of the beliefs and culture of the oppressed! And as if this isn't enough, he decides to drive this home even further by calling Aang a "guru goodie goodie" when Aang asked Katara not to choose revenge. Again we're supposed to find this funny, and sure as a kid the line on its own is funny. But growing up and realizing the context around it, it very quickly becomes not funny and actually kind of infuriating, because again the reason Zuko is trying so hard to dismiss Aang is that he wants this plan to succeed so Katara will stop throwing insults his way. Katara is also very mean towards Sokka this episode, claiming he didn't love their mother the way she did. Poor Sokka really got put trough the ringer this episode.
I also again want to point out how dangerous this plan is. The first field trip with Aang was different. They were visiting ruins for the benefit of Aang learning firebending (a skill he needs to face Ozai), so this trip was very necessary. Sokka's trip was "selfish" for other reasons than Katara. He felt like he failed his dad by letting him get captured, and so he wants to prove himself by getting him out. At least we can applaud Sokka and Zuko for not endangering Appa into enemy territory this time around, and for going into the trip with good intentions (aka saving Dad and later up saving Suki). But the consequences of Sokka's trip show up almost immediately because Azula was able to track them down and bomb the place. The southern raiders trip could have very well had the same exact consequences. They could get captured, they could die, they could get tracked and lead the fire nation to the location of the Avatar (who they now know is alive and is once again their biggest threat), Appa could get hurt. All of this to murder a man and they don't end up doing it. (Just to be clear i'm not mad that Katara didn't kill Yon Rah, i'm actually really happy with that choice and how it foreshadows Aang choosing not to kill Ozai. I'm mad at the fact that they did this dangerous plan with bad intentions and didn't even complete it.)
Now by the end, i'm not saying Aang was completely in the right this episode. He told Katara to forgive this man when he knows damn well she would never. I'm not saying she couldn't. She just wouldn't. But he was right in saying that Katara needed to face this man and come to a non-violent closure. He was also correct in the assumption that Katara needed to forgive. He only wanted Katara to aim this forgiveness at the wrong person. Katara did forgive at the end. She forgave Zuko (who still didn't really deserve it in my opinion because we never even see him apologize to Katara personally for what he did to her?) Zuko even admits at the end that Aang was right in saying violence wasn't the answer. Aang's methods were just a bit off this episode, because there was no way Katara was going to listen to him.
To round this off: this episode could have been done differently. The only thing that really needed to happen for the plot, was for Katara to forgive Zuko and for Zuko to ask Aang how he was going to apply his pacifist upbringing into defeating the firelord. Everything else wasn't narratively necessary, and brought up some very questionable scenes. You could argue that we needed to find out what happened to Katara's mother, but honestly we kind of already knew. She died at the hands of the fire nation. We didn't really need to have it laid out, so it wasn't necessary for the story.
Anyway, that's it. Like i said above, i don't really want to debate this. If you disagree with it you can make your own post about it, i'd rather not get into arguments in the reblogs or comments.
Hi,.....if you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from MDZS? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this question before....Thanks....
Hey! Thanks for your ask. I've never before really thought of ranking them all but here we go:
Top Five Characters (and WHYs)
1. Lan Zhan
"Lan zhan, are you hurt?" / "Of course not." | Just thinking about why Lan Zhan is my favourite makes my heart come out of my throat; but the things I absolutely love is: he's such a handsome beauty; so pretty, the zen-like state, the way he speaks so calmly, the "Mn, I'm here," the assurance and stability he possesses, the way he wouldn't even glance at people who are not worth his time, wordlessly he will help everyone he can without asking for anything, the true empathy he has, his dry humor and his displays of love, and his childish behavior and cuteness and just how strong he is; and just how he faced terrible, terrible shit and still decided to be kind.
for Lan zhan, I think of him, with his eyes soft, standing tall; taking in 33 strikes yet not admonishing wei ying who is gone, demanding to add wen Yuan to the Lan An line, drinking yet only hurting himself, not others, kneeling for 2 days for punishment for getting drunk (when he's injured) and willing to accept more punishment for injuring himself; think of his patience, gentleness, righteousness and his great sense of duty.
how he doesn't wish to indebt wei ying, how his love is so pure. "sunlight over snow"; I just feel like Lan Zhan is so good, so pure, and I love how he's so well rounded with giving him all these kinks, and passion and cold anger. I love him.
2. Wei Ying
Genuinely one of the most charming characters I've ever come across, definitely the one who suffered the most in the book yet could smile about it. he's confident, he's willing to face things, he's brave not for lack of fear, he teases and whines but is so comforting? his presence in the book is like, "don't worry, he's there. he will figure it out." though even he has limits.
just showing up to his own death planning party with 3000 cultivators asking and shouting for his demise and speaking out his mind; about righteousness and wrongs. I like to think of wei ying putting on his armor and marching straight to battle, the fire to Lan Zhan's ice. The darkness to his light and the smile to his sorrow.
3. Wen Qing
in my head I've already written such a long AU of wen qing being summoned back to life haha. i love tsunderes. i love girls. i love protective older sisters. i love doctors. wen qing is that, and more.
her genius is constantly downplayed in this fandom, but along with Wei ying, she was one of the brightest minds of their generation. i think of how brave you have to be, standing up along for your branch of people against a tyrannical relative you have, even in the throes of war, sticking to your duty. never harming, only healing. think of how she fainted when she wen ning dead, how she cried, how she was burnt to death to fulfil her duty to wei wuxian - she was one of the righteous ones. she could have killed WY and JC in the middle of the golden core transplant, dumped them to the Wens and asked for protection. but she went with crazy as fuck ideas; she helped build a home on a cursed hill. she adapted to everything and gave up everything and was kind, was nice, was fun, was brilliant and was loving.
My fourth favourite would be Mianmian (servant girl rose up to high ranks during the war, abandoned it all for a righteous cause, now goes where the chaos is with a husband who loves her, being hot and pretty af, gods) followed by Wen Ning (ah... Wei gongzi I'm sorry... I might have killed a couple hundred people) followed by the juniors.
Top 5 Favourite Moments
It's really hard to rank the moments because the plot is very well-tied. But, going by instincts:
1. If he catches me, I'll...
The whole scene beginning from the point wei ying and Lan zhan decide they don't wanna deal with the shitshow of insulting JGY and instead go to the night market, Wei ying wanting to show lan zhan every detail about his childhood, "i climbed this tree!" / "you have climbed every tree on our way here (fond)" / "but this one is special!!" and Lan Zhan asking "did it hurt?" (broke my heart goodness) and Wei Ying just having a flurry of thoughts and jumping down and saying yes it did, but now you caught me WHICH IS THE WHOLE THEME AHH.
2. Nightless City
Fuck. I'm sorry. Wei Wuxian is fucking breaking right now; it's his descent. We've seen him go through thing after thing and now he's finally shattering. He stood up against 3000 cultivators who wish to kill him, wearing robes dark as the night and he's crying and laughing and throwing back arrows and talking about right and wrong and I just. damn.
"Oh,” Wei WuXian helped him analyze, “If he wanted to to kill me, he didn’t have to think about whether it was a fatal blow or not, and if I died, it’d be my own bad luck. If I wanted to protect myself, however, I had to think about this and that not to harm, unable to take even a single strand of hair away from him? In conclusion, you all could pull a siege on me, but I’m not allowed to fight back, am I right?”
Wei WuXian’s voice dripped in ice, “Just who is the one mixing the black and the white? That’s right. If I wanted to kill him, I would’ve done it a year ago. I didn’t have to keep him until now. Or else, I’d forget such a person in no more than three days, much less a year.”
the fact he gains back control of his corpses and STOPS. he finally stops fighting back!!! just like everyone wanted!! because of which Jiang Yanli dies.
and then he snaps.
sexy.
3. Phoenix Mountain Hunt Kiss
there's something about Wei Wuxian throwing flowers at Lan Zhan, shooting blindfolded, proudly accepting the challenge to hunt like that, and going up a tree after taking 1/3rd of the prey to play Wangxian, and Lan Wangji just having enough, unable to reel his desires in and kissing him; something about Wei Ying stopping his resistance because the "maiden was trembling," and his legs being weak, about him finding Lan Zhan and Lan Zhan losing it and shouting, "GO AWAY", and Wei Wuxian's eyes getting teary and feeling insecure before his heart, which has always been soft for Lan Zhan, asking about him, if he's fine and "tell me if something is wrong :((" and Lan Zhan calming down and Wei Ying mourning the loss of his first kiss and probably thinking it could never be Lan Zhan.
4. Koi Tower
sorry I just think it's supremely hot to walk into the koi tower, take the alcohol they were forcing upon your pretty little boyfriend and throw it back down your throat and talk respectfully and then impatiently and then be a man with no status and yet scare the fuck out of everyone and walk out with your to be lover chasing the sight of you and asking "was he wrong tho"
5. Everyday is Everyday (Extended Chinese version scene)
"No need of sorry and thank you between us" followed by all the yearning for two decades resulting into a messy tumble and idk their dynamic just shines here; "you could pin me, you could - narrates explicitly what he wants to be done to him - and I wouldn't be able to resist!" -> Lan Zhan making him pay for every word -> Lan Zhan losing control and apologizing and bejng confused if Wei Ying wants it or not before understanding -> Wei Ying asking Lan Zhan for sex advice (relax...) -> their smiles and the teasing and the dialogues and the kisses and Lan zhan being jealous about that kiss and the revelation about his burn mark 😭
Hkdjsjsk I feel like I'm missing so many scenes here like the "I'm sorry for being presumptous / no, I was out of line" or the "Let losses and gains remain uncommented upon" or the whole conversation they have in Yueyang "I cannot comment without the whole picture / Lan Zhan, I admire you" or the "I was only gone for a few hours..." (I LOVE THIS ITS TOP 5 IDK WHERE BUT). Also the "ah, he doesn't know what to do after retirement? don't worry I will think for you... so we will get a house and he will cook..." or Lan Zhan drinking an empty cup of tea because he's panicked gay or Wei Ying running circles through his mind over "1 bed? 2 rooms? 1 room? 2 beds?"
Hehe! this was really long. Thanks for such a good ask, it was really fun to answer. Have a good day!
I was always the type to ship the most popular ships in a fandom but in qsmp I just am a 4halo hater. They're so toxic to each other, bad more than forever in my opinion, and I don't see any chemistry I see with other ships (guapoduo, fitpac, bagina) so now I understand the people that get annoyed when a tv show plot gets too focused on a ship. I feel the pain now.
I still think that forever will eventually meet a person with whom he'll have a healthy relationship with, they just haven't arrive to the island yet...
Being annoying under cut
Like, I get why 4halo has become so popular and it is until now. Not everyone wants a nice, happy, normal couple. Who's just love-dovey all the time. And well, no one can't deny they're interesting. They have a really wild dynamic, you can't even boil down what they actually are to each other.
But if you're not into it, or in my case — don't want that with a particular character — it becomes a huge pain in the ass. I will say again, but every time someone says that 4halo is equally toxic I want to die. Forever is genuinely so straight forward about their relationship, he proves and says over and over again that he cares about Bad and that he wants to help him. While Bad is a rollercoaster of emotions with Forever, going back and forth into liking him and hating him.
And the worst part, is that not only that ship is hugely popular, it's that everyone boils down Forever's character to that ship. Including so called Forever fans. The amount of people I saw that reduced Forever's talk about how he felt while on drugs to "Oh, he said he regrets blowing up Bad, but not the marriage proposal!" "Why is he talking about all this but not addressing the marriage proposal?". Like FUCK OFF. My man is literally saying how he was glad that he gets forcefully drugged because he was afraid he'd do something bad otherwise and that joke of marriage proposal while on drugs is the most interesting thing to talk about?
They keep dismissing his feelings over and over again because of this ship, constantly saying how he should apologize to EVERY single thing he has done to make Bad upset because they want them to get along already for shipping purposes. Regardless if he's right or wrong.
And like, I'm not even talking about the Ghosties. Props to them to defend BBH with tooth and nail and make everyone else be the worst person in the story.
So like, even if I'm not happy at all with current 4halo, the fandom makes me hate it much more. For Ghosties Forever is a tool for ship, and if he's not delivering people immediately turn against him. Forevitos make his character all about him, and despite Forever having a million different and more fun dynamics they're not brought to attention at all. The amount of people who genuinely forgets or doesn't care about his duo with Pac is INSANE.
Now leaving the fandom aside, my opinion is that I just want Forever to have someone who loves and trusts him like Cellbit has Roier, Pac has Fit, and Bagi mostly likely has Tina. And clearly BBH isn't that, you know? There will NEVER be a happy ending for them. All I see is tragedy, especially for Forever. And I'm not into that.
my gripes with ep 1 Phayu
so I came across this post that made me remember my biggest gripe with Phayu at the begining.
Plot-wise, I see why that needed to happen, because unlike everyone else around them, Rain doesn't really Idolize Phayu, in fact, he's semi-jealous because his current crush is enamored by him. Still, he doesn't know the bike bro is Phayu, so he admires him in a different way than others. If he acted nice (like he should've done) and let him know he indeed remembered him, he'd probably just be another admirer from afar. but if Phayu pretended not to remember him when it was only like a day or two ago and they actually talked, he'd have a less than admirable look at Phayu but still recognize him as a flawed person.
while also giving a better excuse as to why Rain didn't hesitate to ask him for help, because he knows more about cars than he does, but since he doesn't remember him, He feels comfortable asking for help from him again. at least, that's how I read it
but character-wise, this seems not only cruel to crushing Rain's spirit but also a way too convoluted and silly plot for a man with Phayu's level of intuition. Like what nitwit tinkers with a guy's car to have an excuse to be their knight in shining leather jacket, yet decides "you know what? I should make the cute guy think I don't remember him instead of just saying the truth that I vividly remember the cutie on the side of the road with a flat tire to maybe idk have a cute little icebreaker talk?"
Like there was no reason for him to think this would actually work out for him in his favor and he just got lucky that Rain is terrible at subtly stealing glances at him. Because for all we know, he could've just been completely willing to accept that he didn't remember him and move on with his life.
If anything, this, along with him fucking with his car should give him the idea that maybe Rain isn't just completely playing hard to get.
Maybe I'm Bias, but I 100% am on Rain's side for the mishap/borderline assault. Phayu! Buddy! you're supposed to be smarter and more mature than this! You genuinely thought that he was supposed to get the hint that you wanted to hook up instead of having him pay money to get his car fixed, when his car was messed up BY YOU!? You're hot! but sometimes people are just stranded in a rainstorm and need a mechanic, and they're willing to pay money for their car to be fixed.
It's not easy for everyone to catch on to the deeper meanings behind "can you pay the price" or whatever. and if you thought he was just clumsily hitting on you, why did ti take you a good head wack before you got the memo that he wasn't looking to sleep with you?
Is that what you think "playing hard to get" is? You're the king of playing hard to get! you should be able to tell the difference I feel.
But, like I said before, I am speaking from the lense of someone who is neurodivergent. So I might just be interpreting things as the way I view interactions with people.
But can someone else tell me if they also agree with this gripe? cause I know that kinda toxic and jackass decisions in the first episode of shows aren't anything new, but I just feel the scene is almost written as if we are supposed to all believe that Rain was the one making mistakes and leading him on because he's supposed to be too dumb to realize how obvious he is about his attraction towards Phayu. And I hate that because not only does that feel like victim blaming, but also excuses Phayu for making a dirt bag decision of trying to sleep with a very confused college student who is verbally telling him to stop and that he was not intentionally throwing himself at him.
like i said before, I love Phayu, but that decision making always pisses me off because it doesn't even really fit with his character.
Level Infinity Chapter 9
Warnings: None
Words: 5.1k
AN: I’m not sure if a specific person is going to read this, but theres a little surprise in this chapter if you can recall back to when I asked for yall to make up some characters to put in my stories :D
Also, I’m on a laptop and I’m not sure exactly how to work things while on here so my posts aren’t going to look like I want them to lol sry
"Yeonjun?" You looked over to him, and he raised a brow. "Can we talk?"
"Uh, yeah?" He said. "Go ahead."
"Alone." You said. Everyone else was a bit busy at helping Mark with his notes, each one telling their own unique experience of the levels they had just witnessed.
You tilted your head towards the door and he hesitated before getting up and following you to the other room. Closing the door behind you, you noticed how awkward Yeonjun seemed.
"So, uh, what did you want to talk about?" He asked.
"You and Soobin." You said, and he rolled his eyes, already knowing what this was going to be about. "And that. That attitude you have."
"Does it really matter, though?"
"Yes." You said. "It matters a lot. There is too big of a problem between you two and there shouldn't be. I know none of us really know each other well, but the most important thing we need here is proper communication and teamwork. Otherwise, we're as good as dead."
"Why do I need to develop that with you guys when I'm only here to be back with the people I came here with?" Yeonjun said. "I have no intention to be friends or to even be on friendly terms with you guys, especially not with Soobin. If we get along, we get along, but obviously that's not working, so just leave it alone."
"Do you not have even an ounce of appreciation in you?" You frowned. "You would still be on that ship if it wasn't for us. We could have just taken Taehyun and left without any of your help."
"Without any of my help?" He looked you in the eyes, a small fire within them. "Did you forget who saved you back on that ship? Without me, you would've been dead."
"You're quite proud of doing something that Taehyun could've done just as easily." You scoffed. "And I paid you back that favor in the last level. Don't be so full of yourself, Yeonjun. Be glad we have enough good in us to not abandon you here and force you to find your way. Learn to work as a teammate, because you're the one who wanted to be here in the first place."
Yeonjun didn't say anything, but you could tell he was livid under his chill facade.
"And please...Soobin has been through enough already. We all have. So stop arguing."
"But Soobin- "
"I know what Soobin does, and I'll tell him the same thing." You interrupted, feeling like you were scolding a child. "You guys need to learn to get along. Also, you're kind of bitchy to Mark, will you tone it down? He's genuinely so kind and harmless, there is no reason for that. And stop being rude to Tae- "
"Okay, okay, shit, I got it." He frowned, shaking his head, heading towards the door. "I guess I'll shut the fuck up, then."
"Well, like my parents would say, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all."
"Stop talking." He said, walking out, and you just chuckled, not taking any offense to it. You weren't too swayed by the way Yeonjun acted, you just didn't like the apparent rivalry between him and Soobin. You felt that maybe Yeonjun wasn't too bad of a person on the inside. Maybe it was just something that you would be able to see after getting used to him.
"Where did you guys go?" Mark said once you both entered the other room. As expected, Soobin did not look happy.
"I just needed to talk to him." You said, sitting next to Soobin on the bed. "Are you still writing the notes?"
"Yeah." Mark nodded. "So far, I just need more notes on our current level. This one is so peculiar. It's like...there's danger all around, but it's not...dangerous? Maybe there's a colony on this level. I want to go out and explore, but the buildings keep moving, and I don't want to lose this one..."
"We can explore after we're all rested up." You spoke. "Once we have no need for food, water, and a place to rest, we can take all of our stuff and leave."
"I think that's a good idea." Mark said. He continued to talk about his notes, and you noticed that Soobin was glaring at Yeonjun, Yeonjun glaring right back at him. Grabbing Soobin's arm, you leaned in closer, whispering in his ear.
"Stop it." You whispered. He looked away from him, huffing an angry breath through his flared nostrils.
"I think I have enough for now." Mark said, closing his notebook and putting it safe and sound in his bag. "Hopefully, our stuff won't be in jeopardy again." He sighed.
"It's probably time to rest now." You said, looking between Yeonjun and Soobin. "I'm tired."
"She's right." Mark nodded.
"I'm not tired." Taehyun spoke. "I'll just keep watch."
"You sure?" You asked him, eyebrows furrowed in worry, and he nodded. You wondered how he wasn't tired with all of the shit that went down recently. "Alright then..."
With one last look at Yeonjun and Soobin, you followed Mark and Taehyun out of the room. There was lingering anxiety about what would happen with those two being alone for so long, but you also had trust in them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone was up and ready to leave, bags slung over their shoulders. You had checked everyone to make sure there was no underlying symptoms of insanity radiating from them, and once everything had seemed safe, you felt calm again. Soobin nor Yeonjun brought up how it was being alone together, and you took that well. Nothing bad had happened, then.
You wouldn't say your sleep was very fulfilling, but it was enough to have you awake.
"We're probably going to lose this building, guys..." Mark said. "But I have no doubt there will be another one that we can find if we end up being here for too long. Let's go."
As the unofficial leader of this group, Mark lead us out of the building and back into the streets of level 11. The skies were still bright, as if the day hadn't changed at all, and just like you all had guessed, the buildings had looked different from when you first showed up. You sighed, worry evident on your face.
"How are we going to find an exit?" You said, looking around at all the buildings.
"I have no idea." Mark frowned. "Our best bet is to somehow find a colony here and maybe they'd be able to help."
You guys started walking an invisible path to seemingly nowhere. It reminded you of level one, which seemed like an infinite warehouse, and you had no path to walk along. The only difference was that you were completely alone.
"Maybe one of these buildings will lead us to the next level." Taehyun said. "That's all there is here."
"That would be a lot easier if these buildings didn't look exactly the same." Mark said. "Why is it that splitting up seems like the best and worst idea at the same time."
"It'd be the best idea if we had a way to communicate from far distances." Soobin said. "We have no phones...not even a walkie-talkie."
"It's a boomer's dream world." You laughed, looking into the distance. Your smile slowly dropped as you saw moving figures in the distance, and you squinted your eyes to see better. "Wait...do you guys see that?"
"Yeah." Taehyun said, as if he'd been watching the figures all this time. Everyone else looked at what it was, silence coming over all of you.
"What if they're just entities?" Soobin asked.
"Doubt." Yeonjun said. "They look normal."
"Whatever they are, they'd probably be useful in some way." Mark said, walking faster. "Come on."
You all eventually approached the figures, them watching as you guys came closer. They did, in fact, look like regular people.
"Uh...hello," Mark said, raising a hesitant hand. The strangers just looked you guys up and down, not saying a word. Mark looked back at you, and you shrugged your shoulders, not knowing what exactly was going on.
"Do you guys know how to speak?" Yeonjun asked, frown etched on his face, and they still chose to be silent. "What the fuck...?"
"Hi, we're wanderers...?" Mark said. "Do you...have any directions for a way out to the next level or anything? If not, then we'll be on our way."
"Where have you come from?" One of the strangers asked.
"Huh?" Mark asked, surprised that they've suddenly spoke.
"What level have you come from?" He said more adamantly.
"Oh, uh, we came from Level Fun." Mark gulped. The strangers trailed their gaze over each one of you, silent for a solid minute before pointing up at a building east of you.
"You may find your answer there." He said. "There's 10 earth minutes before the cycle starts again, as long as you make it there in time, you will be fine."
"10 earth minutes?" You asked. "How long is that here?" They didn't answer, going silent once more. You all looked at each other, confused.
"9 earth minutes." He spoke again. "Unless you're able to buy from us, you best be on your way."
"Oh, a-alright." Mark said, and immediately started turning east. You all hesitantly followed him, and you turned around a few times, keeping an eye on the strange people. Once you guys were far enough away from them, you turned back.
"Do you guys think they could be wanderers?" You asked. "Or a part of a colony?"
"Must be a part of a colony." Taehyun said. "Only a colony would be able to set up a place where others can buy from them."
"Damn it." Mark cursed. "I should've asked them what it was called. It would be helpful for our notes."
"Too late now. We should hurry up before the buildings start to move again." Yeonjun said, pushing past everyone to lead the group.
"Is that what he meant by 'the cycle'?" You asked.
"Most likely." Mark said, stepping in front of Yeonjun and looking towards the building the stranger pointed to. "I wonder what's so special about it..."
Once you all made it to the building, you walked in before the buildings could start to shift once again. It was quite cold and empty inside, which confused you. If the answers were here, then wouldn't there be someone, or something, here? Instead, it looked like a barren office building.
"What if it was all a lie?" Yeonjun asked. "And they just spat some bullshit out their mouths for fun?"
"Then this would be a waste." Mark said. "But we don't know that yet. The building isn't that big, it's just...tall. And for obvious purposes, let's...not use the elevators."
"What exactly are we looking for?" Soobin asked.
"That's the thing...I don't know." Mark answered.
"It's a surprise that we were even able to get this far without really knowing anything." You added on. "But if that isn't enough evidence that we'd be able to find the next level, I don't know what is."
You all started to tread up the staircase, exploring each barren floor of the building. There wasn't much on each floor, other than broken computers and unimportant papers that were tossed around by the wind that seemed to blow from nowhere. The place seemed empty of food, water, or anything useful for that matter. What exactly was so important about this building that the strangers had to point it out? Maybe Yeonjun was right, maybe it was just a lie.
"I'm starting to believe it is to use to keep going." Mark said, legs burning as he got to the top of yet another staircase. "And these bitemarks aren't making anything easier."
"There's got to be something here." You frowned. "Doorways to the next levels are usually weird. Just like how touching that rubber ducky brought us to level fun, maybe there's something just as odd here that we can touch."
"Well, that's the problem." Taehyun said, brushing over random objects that scattered the empty cubicles of the floor. "Nothing here is odd. This is just some deserted office building."
"There could be a doorway that leads somewhere." Soobin said, looking at the number on his hand. Once he saw that it still said the number 11, he dropped his hand down with a frown. "It would make sense if whatever we were looking for was on the top floor."
"It would if we were in a game, but this isn't a game." Yeonjun said.
"Except it literally is." You cut your eyes at him. "Have you forgotten how Taehyun, Soobin, and I got here? Everything about this is a game. Imagine teleporting inside of Mario Bros. It's all fun and cute on the outside looking in, isn't it?"
"I don't think I'd ever play those games the same again." Mark said. "I'd probably cry."
"You don't even know if you'd be able to play those games again." Taehyun scoffed. "If we keep talking here, you could just rule that off your bucket list."
"Jeez, what a fuckin' buzzkill." You muttered under your breath as you watched Taehyun go back to the staircase. You were about to follow him when Taehyun suddenly stopped in his tracks. You waited for him to give an explanation, but he was silent. "What's wrong?" You asked.
"Do you guys hear that?" He turned back, brows furrowed as his jaw flexed, eyes looking up. After a few seconds passed, Yeonjun huffed.
"What are you talking ab-"
"Shhh!" Taehyun put his finger up to his mouth, glaring as Yeonjun, then looking back up. With light footsteps, he continued up the stairs, and with curiosity, you followed closely behind him. You couldn't hear anything before, but the closer you go to the next level, the more you could hear.
"Are you sure you know how to work this, Arin?"
"Yeah, my dad worked with this kind of stuff, and he taught me a few things. As long as we get this working, then we can..."
The voice trailed off into silence, and you froze in your steps.
"Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"...it sounded like someone was here. Like a footstep or something."
More silence. Taehyun looked at you with wide eyes. Someone was on the next level, and just like you guys had heard them, they heard you too. With the rest of the boys behind you, no one dared to make a sound or to move an inch.
Grabbing onto the handrail of the staircase tighter, you heard footsteps start to make their way to the stairs. Looking behind you, you saw Mark start to slowly grab one of the guns from his bag, making sure there was at least something to protect you all.
You were able to see the top of the staircase that led to the next floor just by looking up and a bit behind you, and that's when you saw someone step their foot on the stair, clad in dirty white platform boots. From where they were, you knew that they just had to have been able to see at least Taehyun from that angle.
The one in the platform boots had a light step to them, but right beside them was one with a heavy black boot, fearless as they started to stomp down the stairs.
With as quick as they were, Taehyun didn't care about the noise he made, hurriedly grabbing a gun out of his bag and pointing it straight at the figure that then showed themself.
At that moment, Yeonjun, Soobin, nor Mark knew exactly why the gun had slowly slipped out of Taehyun's hand, dropping onto the linoleum floor with a loud clunk.
"B-Beomgyu!" Taehyun stuttered. Right at the top of the staircase was not a stranger, nor was it a dangerous entity. Instead, it was no one other than Beomgyu in the flesh, black hair brushing just past his shoulders and looking dimmer in the eyes than he did before you were all sucked into this dangerous world.
Soobin looked at Mark, as if questioning him on whether 'Beomgyu' was the name of your missing friend, as he didn't remember.
"Taehyun...?" Beomgyu's eyes widened, and he looked behind Taehyun, making eye contact with you, who was speechless. "(Y/N)?...Holy shit."
Just then, the other person with him showed themselves, looking upon you all with curiosity. It was a girl who was much shorter than Beomgyu, and her hair reached past the middle of her back. She was...cute. Her face was round and soft, except for a few scars here and there, but the large sword in her hand contrasted from her looks.
"Do you know them?" She turned to Beomgyu, voice a bit lower than you would've guessed. Beomgyu ignored her, aggressively grabbing Taehyun by his arm and pulling him into a tight hug. Not wanting to feel left out, you ran the rest of the way up the stairs and joined in the hug. You had never thought that you'd be reunited with your best friends as quick as it happened, and it was like the world disappeared in your embrace with them.
"Where the actual hell have you two been?" Beomgyu asked once you all parted from the hug.
"Where have you been?" You retorted, a large smile on your face. "I never expected to find you here, I was afraid we'd have to find our way to level 9 to find you."
"We..." Beomgyu trailed off, looking behind you to see the strangers that he had never met. "I'm guessing that you've been through a few levels."
"Same for you." Taehyun said, looking over at the girl, who was clearly confused.
"Beomgyu, who are they?" She asked him. You tilted your head to the side. Did he not mention you and Taehyun to her? He had to have mentioned you guys once like you had mentioned Beomgyu to the others.
Beomgyu looked back at her with a smile. "I'll explain later." He said, then looked back at you and Taehyun. "We have some catching up to do, but we don't have time now. We need help, follow me."
He hurried up the rest of the stairs to the floor he was on before, the girl hesitantly following behind him, but constantly turning around to look at you. She didn't seem very dangerous, but she slightly weirded you out. Maybe Beomgyu had found her just like how you found Soobin, and he dragged her along with him through the levels.
Once you were all upstairs, Beomgyu led you all to a certain cubicle that looked pretty identical to the other ones throughout the building, except this time, the computer sitting atop the desk actually worked. The screen was dimly lit, although it flickered occasionally.
"This...Arin and I found this computer while exploring the building, and it's the only one that works in the building." Beomgyu said, then he pointed to the corner of the screen where there was one small bar of internet connection. "Not only is there enough electricity to power this, but there's wi-fi here. This is the first level we've been on that had wi-fi connection. We're trying to find a way to get more, but we have no idea where a router could be."
"...so?" Yeonjun spoke up for the first time since meeting the two. "What is wi-fi going to do here?"
"It's not just about what the wi-fi could do for us, it's about where the wi-fi comes from." The girl, Arin, said. "Wi-fi doesn't just appear out of nowhere. It's regulated by someone, most likely a group, a team of people, and it's pulled from a source of power, whether that be a power plant, a dam, or something else. That means that a colony is nearby, and that colony could give answers as to where the next level is." She spoke quickly, energy flowing through her words, and she seemed confident in what she was saying.
"Arin thinks that the connection could come from underground, but...as far as we know, there's no way to actually get underground." Beomgyu said. "The buildings shift so often, and with that, the streets do, too."
"Honestly..." Mark frowned. "We can't help much with that. We haven't been on this level for long, and we haven't even thought about the idea of going underground."
"Well...that's something we'll all have to figure out together." Beomgyu sighed. "Right? You guys aren't...leaving, right?"
"The reason we even went this far was to find you." You smiled. "I'm not sure about the others, but Taehyun and I are not leaving."
Soobin frowned, deciding to keep silent. He was happy that you had found your other best friend, of course, but it seemed that the more people showed up, the more he was pushed to the side. He was the first one to stick to your side here, but he felt unimportant. Like everyone else was priority over him. It was you, Beomgyu, and Taehyun, and everyone else was just...'others'. You two had a connection, though, right? You two had been through a lot together, so he was just as important as Taehyun and Beomgyu...right?
"Good." Beomgyu gave a reassuring smile. "Before we do anything, though...I wanna know what you guys have been up to!" He giggled, doing small jumps up and down. Despite the circumstances, he still seemed like his old self. "We all need a little break, right? Who knows if the next level is gonna be crazy dangerous, let's chill." He grabbed the chair from the desk, and plopped down in it, making himself comfortable. He then noticed how no one moved, tense as ever and confused. "What? Sit down, or something, why are we looking so stressed? There's no dangerous entities here, and it's not like we have a time limit or anything."
"You may not have a time limit, but the only reason I'm here is because I have people that I need to find, so we need to get a move on." Yeonjun growled. Beomgyu recoiled in surprise, putting a dramatic hand on his chest and raising his eyebrows.
"Okay, grumpy, I understand your hurry, but I don't think I can work with you if I don't even know your name, you feel me?" Beomgyu said. "Think of us like coworkers now. You're with my good friends (Y/N) and Taehyun, so let's get to know each other so we won't be awkward, yeah? Sit, sit." He waved his hands down and you followed suit, sitting down on the floor and dragging Yeonjun to sit next to you. He scowled at you, fits balling in anger.
"Yeonjun, we should all get acquainted with each other while we're in a safe level. Who knows when we'll get this chance again?" You whispered to him, then you flinched as you felt someone push into you as they sat down next to you. You turned to see it was Soobin, and he didn't even look at you or apologize. You were a bit confused, but you just brushed it off. He's been so moody lately.
Everyone else sat down, Arin sitting on the floor next to Beomgyu, a wary look in her eyes as she scanned all of you. She was like Beomgyu's guard dog.
Beomgyu was the only one in a chair, appearing like a teacher teaching a second-grade class.
"Everyone, let me introduce myself!" Beomgyu smiled. "My name is Choi Beomgyu, aka (Y/N)'s and Taehyun's bestest friend. And this is my new friend, Arin!" He gestured towards the girl sitting next to him. "How about we all go in a circle and introduce ourselves."
"I didn't sign up for school introductions-"
"My name is Mark!" Mark perked up, a large smile on his face. "It's nice to meet you, Beomgyu and Arin."
"It's nice to meet you too, Mark." Beomgyu smiled, then he slowly looked over at Yeonjun, everyone else doing the same. Yeonjun didn't dare speak a word, a slow fire building up in his sharp eyes.
"This is Yeonjun." You spoke up for him. "And this is Soobin." You knew that Soobin wouldn't want to speak either. You found those two to be similar for a reason.
"Yeonjun and Soobin must be shy." Beomgyu giggled, then his smile faltered and dropped as he looked at you and Taehyun. "But seriously though...where were you guys?"
You were surprised at how serious he got in such a quick manner, but you were wondering the same thing about Beomgyu. Hell, you were happy he was even alive.
"Well...we had an idea as to where you two were." You said, referring to you, Soobin, and Mark. "But I started on level 0...right where we left off at while playing the game."
"...game?" Arin spoke up, and Beomgyu's eyes widened as his gaze flickered from side to side.
"Wait...do you not know how Beomgyu came here?" Taehyun frowned.
"W-we just met, like, I don't know, a few levels ago." Beomgyu said. "I wasn't...I wasn't planning on telling her..." He looked down at her, eyes wide with the slightest hint of fear.
"So, you guys came from the game, as in, Level Infinity?" Arin asked, eyebrows raised high. "I understand not trusting others enough to mention it, but do you not trust me, Beomgyu? A few levels ago is, like, equivalent to a few weeks."
"Time seems to fly by here..." Beomgyu said, avoiding eye contact. "But now you know. And you won't be telling anyone, right?"
"Do you think this is just some big party where everyone knows everyone or something?" Arin frowned, rolling her eyes. "I don't even have no one to tell. You can trust me."
Beomgyu nodded, relaxing as he was let off the hook.
"Soobin came from the game as well." You said, gesturing towards the man beside you.
"Oh, really?" Beomgyu's eyes widened with interest. "What character did you pick?"
"T-the smiler..." Soobin answered quietly.
"Oooh, scary." Beomgyu smiled. "I've got to see that in action."
"So, the powers thing is true?" Arin looked bamboozled.
"Yes, it's all true!" Mark said, excited. "(Y/N) can grow huge metal wings, Soobin can turn into a smiler, and Taehyun can grow these large heavy claws! I've seen it all, and they've saved our lives! Beomgyu, what power do you have?"
"Oh...uh, I chose the tentacle guy." Beomgyu said, but he seemed a bit unsure. "I mean, nothing has happened to me, yet. I've heard of the rumors about the powers, but I didn't think they were actually true."
"Really?" You tilted your head in question. "It hasn't come out once? Not even when you're in danger?"
"Well, shit, it would've been helpful to come out during the times I was seconds away from dying." Beomgyu sighed. "I've had to do things the normal way. Level 9 was exhausting."
"You must've been through a lot." You frowned. "I don't think we would've made it here if it weren't for our powers, honestly. I always knew you were strong."
Beomgyu smiled and looked down, seeming a bit bashful before he changed the subject. "Anyways...how did you all find each other?"
You all explained your stories to Beomgyu, telling him every step of the way as to how you all made it to the current level. Despite telling him all of the...exciting details, you were most curious with how he ended up here, and how he met Arin.
"I still can't believe you had to start from level 0." Beomgyu shook his head after you showed him your black leg. "Having two close encounters with a clump is not for the faint of heart."
"Yeah..." You sighed, rolling your pant leg back to where it was before.
"How did you get here?" Taehyun asked, looking between Beomgyu and Arin.
"Ooh, let me tell you." He took a deep breath. "So, like, as you guys know, I started from level 9, and level 9 seemed innocent and all, I guess. Think of this level, but instead of a city, it was like a suburban neighborhood, but it was always nighttime. I started in this random house, and it was so scary at first, because it was dark, but the house was safe. There was food and water, and even weapons. But leaving the house wasn't the best choice. There were entities everywhere, and unlike this level, they were all dangerous. The worst one was...The Mangled. Or that's what they call it." His face went grim at the thought of the entity. "I don't think I want to explain what happened on that level. Let's just...try our hardest to avoid level 9. I barely even made it out..."
You felt a chill down your spine. You've seen and encountered quite a bit of entities while here, the worst one being Shotaro, or what people call 'The Thing on Level 7'. You couldn't imagine the fact that The Mangled could possibly be even more dangerous.
"Anyways, I ended up making it to level 10." He spoke. "That's where I found Arin."
"I used to live in level 10 for some time, actually." She added. "There almost no one there, including entities. It's just an endless wheat field with a few small houses scattered here and there. I'm still not sure how Beomgyu found me."
"Well, I was fucking starving, and there was a nearby house, so I broke in and she was there." He laughed. "It's relieving to find other people to come along with in these levels. I'm sure you felt the same way when you found Soobin." Beomgyu smiled.
"Y'know, this is cool and all, but I think we really should get going now." Yeonjun said, looking at you as if he was only speaking to you. "You've found your friends, now I would really, really, like to find mine." His eyebrows were furrowed, but his eyes were almost pleading. If you were anything like Yeonjun, you'd know exactly how he felt, and there was that feeling of emptiness on the inside when you were separated from your friends in a place as dangerous as this, not knowing if they were alive or not. Despite the attitude he usually donned, you knew that there was a growing pain inside of Yeonjun that needed to be healed and sitting around wasn't going to heal him.
"He's right." You said, getting up, and dusting your pants off. "I think it's about time for us to try finding the next level. I'm sick of this level, anyways."
Yeonjun seemed relieved that someone was finally listening to him, and he stood up as well.
"Alright then..." Beomgyu sighed. "There's seven of us, now, so...let's not be too worried about how the next level will go, yeah?"
"Oh, by the way, Arin-" Mark reached in his bag to bring out his notebook. "While we're trying to find a way underground, can you describe to me exactly how level 10 was? Since you've lived there, hopefully, you know a lot about it so that I can write my notes about it and your experience there, and then maybe you could..."
Yeonjun rolled his eyes at Mark's non-stop talking, already making his way towards the staircase. Beomgyu took one last look at the blinking computer before following suit. There had to be a use for wi-fi in these levels. Maybe...it could serve to connect them all to the real world, and maybe they could find a way out from there. Or maybe it would be the first and last trace of wi-fi they would witness while stuck in the backrooms...
finished the Handsome Jackpot, thoughts below!
-by far one of the most lovingly piece of borderlands content i've seen from the devs since tftbl. from the story to the characters to the dialogue, it's all so wonderfully woven together that I couldn't help but hope it never ended! which is saying a lot considering how the main campaign went!!!
-to start, all the characters are so wonderfully written and feel so real. Ember stood out to me as not another femme fatale or Girlboss(TM), but a real woman who's fighting for better things, for her friends, and for freedom. She has a cute quirk with fire and frankly her whole personality is amazing. Freddie, my god, he was so funny and cheeky. I knew he was going to betray us by the pretty boy's one line but i really hoped he wouldn't! he was written with so much personality and quirks, i actually felt for his robots :(. pretty boy is a funny type with sick intentions that only got worse as time went on and the mayor of Trashapolis (???) was SO COOL. i loved his design, just wish we got a name! Getting to FINALLY interact with Moxxi on a more personal level... ugh i love her so much. she's so human and funny and her revenge is justified, you go girl! I missed her proximity to the main campaign so it was nice to get level with her :(( Everyone in this dlc is a victim in one way or another and I think that's what makes everyone's dynamics work so well together.
-onto timothy, since that's one of the main points you guys are probably looking for LOL, his dynamic with all these characters is truly what makes him so... alive? the way he talks about his regret with Ember, his "im not as weird as Freddie" process, and his overall pining crush on Moxxi is just. so good. He feels 3D and isn't just a "sad, pathetic meow meow" as fandom portrays him to be. He's crass and rude and frankly selfish at points, but then he has moments where he is so, so sad and you realize that behind the mask (sorry), there's another victim of Handsome Jack's that you get to help. Just like Moxxi. Seeing him juggle between himself and jack is also so unique to him and frankly, it tugs at the heart :(
-Man. the story. this DLC is exactly what BL3 was missing all along. A sense of fucking connection. This whole story you're jumping from one character to another but they're all connected in such intricate ways. You hear Moxxi talk about her trauma from Jack and you feel sympathy, you find out Timothy thinks about her still and then you meet Ember, who despite being burned (sorry again) by Timothy, comes through to help him. Freddie, albeit a "new" addition, is just as much a victim to everyone else. The scene where they're all standing at the table coming up with a plan felt so, so good. I felt like we actually played a purpose in the story and getting to see everyone together like that? it was a genuine connection between the player and the story. It felt like we were back in Sanctuary standing beside Roland, Lilith, Brick and Mordecai. The characters made the story for sure, but being able to see everyone gathered like that? brought together for a good cause and better loot? that's what borderlands is fucking about. When you spend the entire main campaign forgetting the point of a mission, running from one place to another, never actually being together, it just... feels empty. and this DLC rectifies that so, so well. There's no more "talk to lilith on the bridge".
-the narrated plan scene has got to be one of the best scenes i've ever played. i laughed and it was still action packed and it was just, so, so good. instead of idly sitting back watching a character make a dumb decision, or being mocked, the player is IN on the game, invited to join and actually feel like a part of the plan!
-The UI deserves a praise for the dumb mission names, the silly names of the parts of the map, freaking casa de Timothy made me laugh. It's the silly humor that kinda tied a nice little wrap on a good story and great characters.
-The bosses, oh my god, that was SO FUN!!!! the claptrap revenge/zombie thing literally threw me back to COD zombies days, the JACKBOT was SUCH a cool multi-level boss- even Freddie was great! Just like Krieg's DLC, there was a lot of fun with these levels.
-The design of the Jackpot frankly felt like we were back in BL2 Pandora, which was such a nice refresher sorry! I really enjoyed running through what felt like opportunity again :,). all the jack stuff was CREEPY! I didnt realize the jack tower moved and then it did and i was like OH.
-bugs of course put a tamper on the fun, had to restart twice 'cause the audio bugged and then Timothy just... didn't show up to hack the forcefield LOL . Not exactly the DLCs fault.
-the ending music was the bow on the masterpiece, sorry!
Overall, this DLC nearly makes up for the awfulness that was the main campaign. there was heart to be found in every corner, love crafted in every piece of dialogue, and genuine FUN in each mission. I almost wished i didn't play 'cause now im longing for another GOOD BL thing to play. open to talking about it as always hehe <3
surprising from me, a peak 10/10
character ask: yuri, please ☺
First impression: He was not immune to propaganda 😔 he's young, maybe he's got potential to get better.
Impression now: Ok he's funny at least. I'm still very wary of him but he does have his moments.
Favorite moment: I think when he was teaching Anya. While he might not have intended to actually care for Anya's studies, it was really nice to see how he handled her making a mistake. He said that it's okay that she made a mistake, and just had to understand how to do it right. That's a really kind teaching method to approach kids, especially young ones. It shows he knows how to handle kids and how to be kind to them (and he even did it better than Loid did at the start, lol)
Idea for a story: I'm just gonna copy-paste my idea from my post about Loid: Twilight has disguised himself as Yuri because for Reasons he has to infiltrate the SSS offices, but then for some reason the actual Yuri appears there too. “Yuri” and Yuri fight, and an incompetent officer finds them, aiming his gun at them. Twilight is silent, but Yuri tries to convince the guy that’s he’s the real Yuri and he should shoot the fake one. The guy says that “Only a spy would act like that” and shoots. While that happens, within a split second Twilight thinks “I have to let him die. I have to get out of here. I have to let him die.” But he just cannot do that because he knows how much it would devastate Yor to lose her brother… so he pushes him out of the way and takes the bullet instead. Maybe not anywhere too dangerous, like his arm or something. But it’s enough to slow him down as he tries to escape, and he’s finally caught while still wearing the mask with Yuri’s face. You can imagine Yuri’s shock and horror when he realizes it’s “Loi-Loi”, who is a spy and tried to infiltrate the offices and also saved his fucking life. Because as many lies as Loid has said, Yuri has now absolute proof that this man really does love his sister. I think it would fucking break him, especially once the SSS starts torturing Loid. His belief that Westalis is the enemy and anyone from it wants to destroy the country his sister lives in, versus the proof that a Westalian spy cares so much for said sister that he preferred to be arrested and tortured if it meant Yor wouldn't lose Yuri. Maybe it could be the proof he needed to abandon what he's been doing all along.
Unpopular opinion: I don't know where the icky headcanons about him being actually in love with Yor came from, but I genuinely don't think he has any intention of taking things there with his sister. Yes he is super obsessed and devoted and overprotective of her, but I don't understand how people see that and think "Oh he must wanna *** her". I mean, no, I do understand, we do live in a world that's very sex-obsessed but very sexually repressed at the same time, and thus people can reach such wacky conclusions.
Anyway, someone on tumblr said at some point that the only reason Yuri is suspicious of Loid is not because he married Yor, but because Yor didn't tell him for an entire year about their marriage, and it's understandable how that would sit very wrong with Yuri. The fact that Yuri is also jealous of Anya because she spends all day with Yor proves that all Yuri wants is to spend more time with his sister. A lot little obsessed and overprotective, yeah. Icky, I don't think so.
Favorite relationship: Honestly, I'd say with Anya. I want them to spend more time together so that she can bring out his soft and/or playful side. Everyone deserves a bit of Anya in their lives.
Favorite headcanon: I think it's actually canon from when he helped Anya study but I believe he speaks at least one foreign language fluently. For their time period that's actually pretty impressive.
Send me a character!
BABES
I’ve been rereading everything in the staticverse bc it’s honestly become like such a great source of comfort for me and ily so much for it.
but as i was rereading i was struck by just HOW MUCH i love it. so i compiled a little list for you 💗
1. you have put absolutely insane amounts of detail into this and i appreciate it so fucking much you have no idea. there is layers upon layers upon layers of lore and plot connections and just UGH.
2. static. that’s it. end of story. just static.
2.2 okay so i know that you have your concerns about creating a reader that might be interpreted as “too similar” to the author but fuck that it’s bullshit. this is your work this is your creation you get to do whatever the fuck you want with it.
2.3 also static is such a badass and it’s honestly so refreshing to see a x reader fanfic where she isn’t a total mary sue or just the human embodiment of a slice of white bread. static is NOT BLAND she is NOT BORING. she has her faults she has her flaws and it makes her so much more relatable as a character. it’s so much easier to like step into the readers shoes when they’re a fully fleshed out character as opposed to a blank slate to project yourself onto. the way that you write static and her interactions with everyone around her is honestly on a whole other level and i like cant describe it it’s just so ajsjfosnsnajakakadjd
3. adding onto my like static and her interactions thing, dude. the way you portray her relationships with each different character so differently and yet so HER is insane. it shows how phenomenally multifaceted she is and i just genuinely love it
4. whenever the story is being “narrated” by a different character, your writing changes tone so well without losing its quality. there’s a stark (haha get it) difference between the way tony narrates as opposed to say steve or harley or even static herself and that’s something that i love with my entire fucking heart. you’re able to so seamlessly blend these characters together to create a beautiful tapestry of a world within the MCU and have i mentioned that i love it?
5. the EFFORT you put into this is unparalleled. like genuinely you could wake up tomorrow and say “im done writing this forever” and delete all of your work and i would still be happy that i got to be a small part of it. everything about the way that you world built and character developed and connected events is just SO GOOD LIKE????
6. this is embarrassing lowkey but static has like become my personality now? if im in a situation where im nervous or intimidated i just think about the avengers ft static when she goes to recruit Steve and he says something along the lines of “people didn’t hold themselves like that unless they were truly very sure of themselves” (i BUTCHERED that ik and im so sorry about it but i hope you know what point im referencing) and it like HELPS A LOT!!!
7. i originally read this bc im a slut for bucky barnes but i adore the way that it’s expanded to become more of just a series about static herself. you’ve developed such an interesting and exciting character that just like reading about what she ate for breakfast would make my month. and i will shamelessly admit that when she said “steve wasn’t the love of her life, bucky isn’t the love of her life, morgan is the love of her life” (again butchering the quote i am so disappointed in myself) i teared up. bc like while i am simply a hole made special for james barnes it was just so nice to see that this was a (cliché alert) strong, independent, female character who’s life didn’t revolve around a love interest. and no one looks for that in x reader fanfiction but it’s such a blessing that you were able to make it and i was able to find it.
8. this series and these fics are literally like free therapy and i love you more than static loves morgan, harley, and peter
sorry for the essay but i need you to know that i love you so so so so much.
im right behind you babe ❤️❤️❤️
when I tell you, I sobbed on a random tuesday morning after reading this....
I had been feeling really fucking shitty and then I woke up, i read this, first thing in the morning and honestly? Depression? Cured. Skin? Cleared. Laundry? Folded.
This was so personal to me. I just.. I cannot express how much this means to me, no matter how hard I try. It moves me so much that you noticed all the little information I had scattered throughout the story thinking like, 'oh this will be a fun callback when i read it later' only to find out you were following along!!!! This is literally the best feeling ever.
Whenever I'm having a shit day, questioning my 'talents' at work (because my job is in a similar zone) I come back to read this and I'm like yeah, well. @third-broparcelicito loved my shit so I cannot be that bad lmao.
Anyway, all this is to say, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading whatever content I put out and investing your time, energy and love into it so deeply. I swear people like you are the only reason I keep coming back to the series and updating it randomly. You keep me going despite my overly busy schedule. Thank you so so much.
I'm right behind you. I've got your back.
Every now and then, I sit down and think about how truly tragic of a person Silver is and how I unintentionally made her... the most depressing character on the whole show if she was canon
Imagine, for a moment, you're a child in an orphanage. You've been there for the first six years of your life. You don't know who your birth parents are, why they put you there, what they're doing now, or anything about them. Not to say you hate your life, it's chill, everyone's nice to you and you've got these sick ass fire powers, life is pretty good. It could be better, and you totally wanna have an actual family, but life ain't awful by any means.
Then, you get adopted at the age of six by this extremely nice scientist guy. Yeah, sure, you really have no idea what half of the stuff he's doing is, but it's fun to watch him do it and hear him talk about it, and he genuinely loves you. You did it. You aquired a family. Everything will be great from now on.
Oh, and, as a bonus, now that you're eight, you get to be besties with a superhero because she works with your dad. You've definitely had friends before that, but never one you'd call your best friend, until, well... now. Your life might as well be a fairytale.
And then, at the age of nine, all of them gets violently and suddenly torn out of your hands.
Your Dad accidentally fused himself with a rat and he's literally arguing with himself about whether or not he wants to be evil. You try to reason with him and he responds with something along the lines of "Sorry, goody-two-shoes Dad can't come to the phone right now, is there something evil Dad can help you with?"
And you know this isn't your Dad. This isn't him. This is that damned rat. That rat. That. Fucking. Rat.
Oh, and by the way, your best friend has started distancing herself from you now that she's decided the situation with your Dad is hopeless. And by the way, you're nine dealing with this. NINE. YEARS. OLD. NOT EVEN DOUBLE DIGITS, AND YOU GOTTA PROCESS THAT.
And this is all because of that. Damned. Fucking. Father-stealing. RAT.
Yeah.
I'd probably go insane too.
