So here's the thing for me about spideypool is that. They have to change. There isn't a convincing story out there where they just immediately get along. Peter doesn't kill. Wade doesn't value life. Wade idolizes Spider-Man; Peter has an immense bias against Deadpool. For Peter, it's enemies to lovers; for Wade, it's like dating a member of one direction.
Many fics do get this, fyi. And most of the ones that do choose to do that in the same way - Wade realizes the error of his actions, improves as a person, decides to become the person Peter would want him to be. And him putting in the work can be so affecting, don't get me wrong. Personally I like this version best when Wade does that work independent of Peter, learns to be better for his own sake. In my own recent-ish spideypool fic, I did that via Wade's daughter, because he repeatedly expresses in his internal narration that he wants better for her than he can currently provide her.
But there is another option, and it's an option I love, it's an option I put into my very first spideypool fic, which I stand by even now. And that option is that instead, Peter gets worse. Peter starts compromising on his ideals, gives in to his darker impulses. Starts acting immorally, maybe even manipulating Wade. He has good intentions, but we all know where that road leads.
Either way, one of them has to change. There is no other option. You can't build a healthy relationship off of contempt and hero worship.
But all I'm saying is. It doesn't necessarily need to be a healthy relationship.

Glad to see that Tim being a giant Dick Grayson fanboy is finally being highlighted again, and sparking more discussion especially on their early relationship! (Please gimme more!!! I love them so much, augh!)
Probably as a result of that surge, there seems to be reciprocal chatter on the topic of how young Tim actually felt towards Jason, too. It's honestly pretty interesting, because it's more nuanced than it appears at first glance.
Which means it's very fun to dissect! ✨
There's a degree of subjectivity to keep in mind, because readers are going to have different interpretations of the same scenes, or will pull from entirely different scenes than one another to form their individual view on this topic. That's just how it is in comic book fandom, for many things! Regardless, in this case... if the scale ranges from the extreme of "Jason was Tim's Robin" to the other extreme of "Tim actually hated Jason [as Robin] or thought he was a loser that got himself killed" — the actual truth is closer to the middle, as is often the case.
At least, in my opinion.
Mainly I want to focus on those relatively early days with this post, to highlight Tim's initial(-ish) feelings towards his heroes, and touch on the point at which they really begin to change. This turned into a very long post, though. Brevity is beyond my skill, so grab snacks and water lol. Transcripts for each image will be posted at the very end under the cut.
So, the two storylines I want to cover are "Rite of Passage," which is rolls into "Identity Crisis." (NOT to be confused with the major crossover event "Identity Crisis™" which came years later, and is where Jack Drake dies.... But it sure is an interesting coincidence that Tim deals with the loss of each parent in two similarly named stories!) These take place before Tim is even Robin, and I'll be considering them as one arc for this post.

Detective Comics vol. 1 #618 (July, 1990) -- Pages 1 & 2
"When Gotham needed him, he was there. When the Batman needed him, he was there. He was a hero."
"One day, I'll be as good as Jason. One day I'll wear the suit."
To start off, we have this opening from "Rite of Passage." Tim is still in training here, mainly helping Bruce with minor stuff from the cave. His parents are off traveling, alive and well as of these next few pages. He's still bright-eyed and full of wonder. An extraordinarily weird but ultimately innocent kid.
So his view on Jason is positive and fairly simple: a hero, and someone to look up to as Robin. Clearly, Tim here doesn't think Jason was deficient in his role, either as a protector of Gotham or as Batman's trusted partner.
Moreover, Tim already held Dick in very high regard because he was amazingly skilled before he became Robin. To Tim, that's not something he'll ever be able to achieve. Meanwhile, Jason wasn't like that. He was a regular kid without crazy acrobatic training since practically birth. Yet he still went on to be a hero—which is obviously motivational for Tim who finds himself in similar shoes.
It's true that Tim only ever knew or thought of Jason as Robin, and idolized him in that regard. But that's kind of all that mattered to him at that point, because he was this kid who was utterly star-struck by his heroes. Even if he's technically aware of their shortcomings as people, it's overshadowed by the hero-worship.
It was kind of the same with Bruce as Batman at first. (Which was still enough for Tim to risk life and limb to help his beloved hero, before Bruce even knew his name.) Dick was the only one Tim had any sort of "personal" relationship with beforehand, so there is an extra level of attachment—and hence why it was the nidus for his obsession with Batman. Yet even then, it wasn't like he actually knew anything about Dick as a person until later. Until then, Tim's ideas of him were all he had, too. With Jason, Tim just didn't get to know him at any point before his return (oof), apart from what he heard over the years secondhand (also oof).
Ultimately, it's the loss of innocence—along with the ricocheting bullet that is the unresolved guilt of those around him—that begins to change Tim's perception. Not just of Jason, but of things in general.

Batman vol. 1 #455 (Oct., 1990) -- Page 13
"I know why they do it now. Why they put on the suits, and the masks, and go out into the night. They're angry, they're full of rage. They want to hit back."
Losing his mother was a major shift for Tim, obviously. This is right after the previous storyline, and Tim's had the worst week or two of his life (so far). His monologue here is a reference to what happened to both Dick and Jason. The unbearable pain of loss, the rage masking the grief underneath. And importantly, that he feels both of them were justified in their anger. (And Bruce too, indirectly.)
The major theme of the aptly named "Identity Crisis" is to mirror aspects of Dick and Jason and Tim's lives—to show how they converged onto the same tragic road. It's something that Tim notices early in the story, and was frightened by. Now, horrifically, it's become a part of him as well. His parents are gone, and he was entirely helpless to do anything about it. Dick was the same way, Jason was the same way. The cycle is repeated.
In particular, the part about him wanting to go to Haiti for revenge—for his mother—sort of struck me as being an intentional parallel to Jason and Ethiopia. It's a bit of a stretch, especially in isolation, so others may see it differently (e.g. the angry ramblings of a grieving child that does sound like something anyone might say). But it always stuck out to me because of how much Tim is compared directly to Jason in this arc. More on that below.
It's not something I can really give an accurate feel of because it's a lot of subtle things that begin to add up, so I'd encourage folks to read this arc themselves to see what I mean. (Or maybe you'll still disagree which is fine too lol.) Again, many things are in reference to both Dick and Jason in relation to Tim, but it's weighted more on Jason's side.

Batman vol. 1 #455 (Oct., 1990) -- Page 18
"You think my anger will boil over, the way Jason's did. I can assure you, it won't!"
Tim's grief has begun to pull away the veil of idealism that enshrouded his heroes in his mind. It doesn't apply only to Jason, but to the rest of them. Plus add the fact that Tim's keenly aware that he's being managed, even if the adults around him are careful to not outright say certain things. He still knows.
Bruce, Dick, and Alfred are all worried about Tim potentially turning into "another Jason." They (and mainly Bruce) caution Tim to not ignore his emotions, but they're still concerned that he may be overly eager to prove himself in order to cope, and could get hurt or killed as a result. While they aren't wrong for their caution—especially at how unsettlingly similar all the circumstances are—they aren't very subtle about the elephant in the room.
Imagine how that would affect Tim's perception of his predecessor, especially when he's in the midst of a traumatic event he hasn't had time to fully process. The negative association is pretty much inevitable.
Tim's known from day one that he's walking in Jason's shadow, and now it's become inescapable. Tim went from seeing Jason as a goal to reach, to feeling that unless he surpasses him, he wasn't going to be taken seriously by anyone. However, as of this arc, Tim doesn't even fully come to that point yet.

Batman vol. 1 #456 (Nov., 1990) -- Pages 14 & 15
"Drop-outs don't make it. And dead heroes are no use to anyone!"
It's really easy to take away "Tim totally thought Jason got himself killed" as the main thing here, but I think that's missing the forest for the trees.
First some context: Bruce has gone out on a mission to get Scarecrow, and expressly forbade Tim from doing any shenanigans. Meanwhile, Tim is grappling with wanting to prove himself and trying to help Bruce from the cave, all while trying to deal with his emotions. At some point, he falls asleep and ends up having like... exhaustion-grief hallucinations of Dick!Robin and Jason!Robin who confusingly caution yet encourage him. The main theme of this part is facing your fears.
Depending on how you want to interpret the intent of Jason's dialogue here, you could go several ways with it. Ranging from "writer's feelings towards Jason" to "a peek into Tim's mind as his fears manifest as visions of his heroes" or some mixture thereof.
Though Tim argues with Bruce that Batman needs a Robin, we're shown that Tim is understandably scared of joining Batman's "war." He's still not willing to let Bruce go it alone, though, and that's something he feels more strongly than his fear.
Meanwhile, hallucination!Jason's warnings are a lamentation of what happened to him in a way, but it actually exactly describes Tim's current situation even more so. Unlike Jason, Tim is under-trained, under-experienced, doesn't even have a suit of his own yet. But like Jason, he can't sit by and do nothing while someone he cares about is in danger. Tim knows that if he goes out there, he will probably get himself killed, and it will be his own fault. So he's about to disobey Batman's orders, and fly right into danger. If that got Jason killed, then Tim—who is in a way worse position experience-wise—has every chance of ending up the same.
Like... it's about Jason, but it's also about Tim. It's Tim's worst fears made manifest, via the representation of why he is even here in the first place (Jason's death).
That's my theory anyway, but perhaps this is an overly charitable reading of this scene on my end. (Not that I think that makes me wrong lol.) However given that Grant wrote both parts of this arc, and the beginning of which is especially favorable towards Jason, it certainly is something to ponder. I have a lot of thoughts on it I can't expand on here tbh but perhaps that'll be another post.
Anyway, returning to the point of the similarities vs differences between Tim and Jason: since this is the arc that solidified Tim as the next Robin in comic continuity, it makes sense that the writers really pushed the comparisons between the two of them, specifically. (Even though Dick was pretty similar, as going against Batman's orders is the Robin thing to do, it's not his shoes Tim is directly filling.) So making Tim's "debut" story arc mirror Jason's "swansong" is an obvious narrative choice.
To drive home the parallels, I wanted to include this panel from just a few pages prior to the "daydream":

"The suit is magic."
That so distressingly close to Jason's famous "being Robin gives me magic" line (Batman #385, page 6). Given all the previous context, it's hard for me to just dismiss it as pure coincidence. Even if it is, the point still stands. Tim is shown having the some of the same heartbreakingly naive views as Jason once did, right in front of Jason's memorial, just as he's about to go and run off into the night against orders.
I think that speaks for itself. There's a lot to take away from it, if you so choose. Especially given the context of that specific Jason arc.
Alright, back to the main course:
So in the end, Tim actually goes out in civvies and a ski mask because if he fails, then at least he wouldn't bring shame to Robin's legacy™. When he gets fear gassed saving Batman, it's once again both Dick and Jason that he hallucinates encouraging him to push past his fear. (Shout out to the fact that he's literally more afraid of tarnishing the legacy of Batman & Robin than he is of dying.... I'm sure this will not be a recurring thing for him in the future.)
Tim's ideology is shown to be similar to Jason's, and the actions Tim ultimately takes are similar to Jason's... but the outcome is different. And it really isn't just "Tim succeeded where Jason failed." At least, that's not what I took away from this. Rather, Tim had no reason to succeed any more than he had to fail, just that he did. Luck combined with caution because he knew what happened to his predecessor, and the fact that Batman was there to finish the job all made the difference.
You could say (and I know some will) that it's just classic Jason character assassination and the writers trying to implore readers that this new kid is different we promise pls don't hate us look how much better he is! But in this case, that feels like it undermines the whole point of this story. It doesn't fit with what the characters actually say.
Thus, we return to the question of how Tim felt towards his predecessor. And the answer is different from where we started, because Tim is different. Not that different though. Because even though at this point Tim—like all the adults around him—has probably attributed Jason "going off on his own" being what led to his death, Tim still thought of him as a hero to look up to. It's about Robin, first and foremost, yes. But Tim is fully aware of the people who made that suit mean what it does, because it's all intertwined.

Batman vol. 1 #457 (Dec., 1990) -- Page 20
"I mean--Dick made it into a symbol the whole world knows. Jason gave his life for it."
Even further, Tim thinks of it in terms of Jason having given his life for what he believed in, for the legacy that now falls to Tim. There's a sense of gravitas there. He's afraid of failing both the Robins who came before him.
Ultimately do I think Tim adored and loved Jason on the same level as Dick or something? No. It's not comparable. (Dick was like part of some of Tim's earliest memories and everything! They have a really unique bond ok.) Yet Tim was also far from thinking poorly of Jason so early on. Frankly, it seems that Tim thought of Jason as a noble hero and a cautionary tale. Yes he took risks and sometimes went too far, generally stuff that Tim doesn't want to repeat and all that. At the same time, Tim still saw him as someone whose legacy and memory was worth honoring.
It's complicated, which is why I like it so much—because it feels real. Having conflicting feelings towards someone is... so human. Especially someone you never got to know, yet who plays such an integral role in your life via the shadow of their death. How can you feel anything but complicated towards them?
It has to be said that, yes, Tim's views—even before Jason's return—change over the years. He becomes more jaded as a person and is surrounded by people who are even more jaded than him... and who often mention Jason as the "failed Robin." It's something that's hung over Tim's head all the damn time. The curse of the Robin mantle.
So it shouldn't come as a surprise that Tim's idea of him becomes more akin to "sounds like a skill issue" as the years go by. All bets are off after Jason's return, and the Titans Tower Incident™. At that point it's firmly "I am better than you, loser" lmao.
And... that's all without getting too into things like authorial intent and general "moods" of different DC writers towards Jason at a given point. Or retcons that played a role in his characterization and how other characters talk about him, depending on what "era" you're reading. That's way beyond the scope of this post though!
TLDR; even though young Tim Drake was obsessed with Dick Grayson as Robin, he still looked up to Jason Todd as well. He didn't think of Jason as a cringefail loser until later. :)

This is probably the most unpopular of all unpopular opinions out there, but hear me out for just a second:
Can we please start to acknowledge Kuai Liang's flaws? It's perfectly fine to like a character while also acknowledging their negative traits and the bad things they've done. I'm genuinely confused by the whole "aww Kuai Liang is so nice :)" thing the fandom has going on. I understand that, being a Bi-Han fan, I might sound biased, but I promise this is coming from a completely neutral standpoint.
I don't see how any of the positive traits fans associate with Kuai Liang (kindness, selflessness, a caring nature) are backed up by any canon material we know of. Those traits belong to Tomas, not Kuai Liang. The version of Kuai Liang that is a loving brother to Tomas and the prime example of a good man only exists in fanon.
Vengeful, short-tempered, regressive — those are Kuai Liang's actual traits.
May I remind you, the real Kuai Liang looks like this.

His face expresses arrogance, he's looking down on whoever is in front of him. He doesn't smile, doesn't display any expression that one could interpret for kindness. He looks cold. Does that arrogance and coldness look familiar at all?

It's the same expression as this one. Bi-Han is also shown looking down on others, with the exact same confidence stemming from the idea that he is superior to others. Kuai Liang mirrors that expression perfectly. They're brothers, they're similar in the way they act and think, in the way they were raised. Let's not forget that Kuai Liang was second in line for the grandmaster title while with the Lin Kuei. He is grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu now. They are both arrogant.

Tomas is the only one of the three who smiles and has a warm, kind aura to him. I'm not saying he's a perfect ray of sunshine, he's certainly capable of being ruthless just like his brothers, but he doesn't share their overwhelmingly negative traits.
There is no warmth to Kuai Liang at all, which is ironic given that his element is fire. Kuai Liang's fire, however, burns cold to match Bi-Han's ice. They are not opposites, they are the same.
Hanzo as Scorpion was driven by grief and ultimately love for his family, Kuai Liang's fire is only fueled by hatred for his brother.
While Bi-Han is obsessed with power, Kuai Liang's obsession with honor and tradition is crossing the line to fanaticism. Am I the only one to find it concerning how he worships his father and his father's ideals almost religiously? It's pretty much all he ever talks about at any given chance.
to Bi-Han: "His teachings did not pass with him. They should still guide us." to Bi-Han: "Father would turn in his grave if he saw this." to Smoke: "We must chart a new course. One that both honors our Father's legacy and serves Earthrealm." to Kitana: "Death before dishonor." to Smoke: "Only if we honor tradition."
Is this how a normal person talks? I don't think so. Admittedly, Bi-Han's methods are wrong, but since when is it a good thing to be completely against progress? Kuai Liang is stuck holding onto outdated traditions that don't allow for growth. It's not necessarily a bad thing that he looks up to his father, but idolizing someone to the point of never questioning anything they do or say and giving up any critical thinking is dangerous.
There's plenty more examples in the story mode and intros where Kuai Liang brings up honor and tradition, but this post is going to be long enough as it is so I only named a few.
I want to focus more on how Kuai Liang treats other characters throughout the story.

Why does the fandom claim he's such a good brother to Tomas when this is the only scene in the story mode where Kuai Liang expresses any sort of care towards Tomas — in a moment where he needs Tomas on his side?
Oddly enough, he's playing at Tomas' vulnerability here by bringing up family and reassuring him that they're brothers even if they don't share blood, in direct contrast to how Bi-Han said Tomas' blood was not Lin Kuei earlier. Words he chose carefully and deliberately, not out of the goodness of his heart because he wanted to comfort Tomas, but to achieve the desired effect: to sway Tomas to his side.
Similar to Bi-Han, Kuai Liang is a manipulative and calculating character. I would even dare to go as far as to say he's even more manipulative since Bi-Han lacks the charisma and patience to be a successful manipulator. Bi-Han makes no effort to convince Tomas to join him. He can't even keep up the lie he told Kuai Liang for very long. Bi-Han's actions are impulsive and poorly planned out, he's the naive one being manipulated by characters like Shang Tsung while Kuai Liang makes smart, calculated moves. He knew exactly what he was doing when speaking to Tomas.
I don't see how that was even necessary since Tomas would have picked Kuai Liang's side regardless simply because it's the one aligning with his own beliefs, but Kuai Liang's words were a subtle "Hey, remember that I'm the one who considers you part of this family and he does not. If you don't side with me, you're going to betray your own brother."
One of the key signs to recognize a manipulator by is how they try and convince a person close to them that it's "the two of them against everyone else" or in this case "them against their older brother". Manipulators know someone's weaknesses (Tomas' desire to be a part of their family) and how to exploit them to get what they want.
There was never even the slightest chance that Tomas would have sided with Bi-Han in that fight anyway, but he also appears way more passive in it as opposed to Kuai Liang. Tomas doesn't want to fight his own brother, but at the end of the day he cares more about doing the right thing and saving innocent lives than about his inner conflict. For Kuai Liang, it's a quest for vengeance and the pursue of his own goals above all else.
I also think it's interesting that Tomas looks slightly surprised/ confused at the hand being placed on his arm by Kuai Liang. It's almost like he's not used to being reassured like this which makes you wonder how often Kuai Liang really comforted Tomas or showed any support towards him. Like Liu Kang and everyone else, Kuai Liang barely acknowledged Smoke's presence before. They're only seen exchanging occasional glances.

What has me doubt the sincerety of Kuai Liang's words even more is this scene.
Personally, I don't believe that Bi-Han has ever snapped at Tomas like that before this incident here, but I know the fandom likes to think otherwise so just for this take let's go with the wrong assumption that Bi-Han used to put Tomas down like that regularly.
Why did Kuai Liang not step in to defend Tomas in this scene? If he knew where this was going why did he let Bi-Han finish his sentence? It's certainly not out of respect or because Bi-Han is their grandmaster. Kuai Liang has no issue talking back to him and contradicting him in other situations but he was surprisingly silent when this whole thing went down.
He was either just as surprised as Tomas that Bi-Han would snap at their brother like that because it hasn't happened before or because he simply didn't care to interrupt since he had nothing to gain from it, unlike later when he wanted Tomas' loyalty for himself.
Kuai Liang could have been standing up for Tomas in this situation if he was the good brother everyone sees him as, but for some reason he didn't. Make of that what you will.
As for the intros between them, there's only one where Kuai Liang asks about Tomas' family. In every other intro with Tomas he only speaks of his own goals. Honor, tradition, training the Shirai Ryu, defeating the Lin Kuei... At one point he praises Tomas for his loyalty towards him, only to question said loyalty later on.
Scorpion: Our resolve cannot waver, brother. Smoke: I'm offended that you think mine has.
If I'm not mistaken, that's a prime example of manipulation right here. Guilt tripping/shaming someone into doing something they don't even want to do.
Kuai Liang seems to always be working an angle with Tomas. Why is he suddenly doubting him? Because he knows Tomas wants peace, not war between the brothers?
Ultimately, it seems he doesn't care about what Tomas wants. We know that Tomas is torn in this conflict, he resents Bi-Han, but he also doesn't want his brothers to fight. Otherwise, he wouldn't have asked for Liu Kang to reunite them.
Tomas' intros are a whole paradox of their own.
Smoke: Are we to be enemies for life? Sub-Zero: Unless you submit, Tomas.
Smoke: I'll never forgive Bi-Han. Scorpion: His betrayal has seared both our hearts.
Scorpion: We'll soon meet the Lin Kuei in battle. Smoke: It will be our last with them. Smoke: For Earthrealm's sake, my brothers must reunite. Raiden: There's little hope for that, Tomas.
Smoke: Can I get the brothers to reconcile? Liu Kang: They must choose their own path, Tomas.
What Tomas says to other characters contradicts everything he says to Kuai Liang. But why? Why does he never tell Kuai Liang directly that he'd just wish him and Bi-Han would stop fighting? Why if not because he's afraid of Kuai Liang's reaction and that he will lose him as a brother unless he agrees with everything Kuai Liang says?

SPOILERS: It's interesting how Kuai Liang in this scene asks Tomas to help him bring Bi-Han back with them so he won't be able to aid Shang Tsung, but according to leaks he's going to leave Bi-Han behind with Havik in the dlc, not even caring about the consequences that might have for Bi-Han or for Earthrealm. Now that Tomas isn't there he no longer has to keep up the facade. Tomas' absence also makes me wonder if he maybe got tired of Kuai Liang's spitefulness and blind hatred.
To sum it up, here's what we know about how Kuai Liang treats Tomas:
Kuai Liang initialy doesn't defend Tomas against Bi-Han's harsh words
He picks an odd timing to comfort Tomas at the Ying Fortress, possibly to assure that Tomas will join his side, not Bi-Han's
He's trying to push his own agenda onto Tomas who agrees with him in their intros but doesn't seem to share Kuai Liang's goals when speaking to other characters like Liu Kang or Raiden
SPOILERS: It seems that Tomas won't be attending Kuai Liang's wedding as he's not mentioned at all in any of the dlc leaks. He might be trying to stay out of the fight between his brothers entirely.

Another detail I've noticed is how quickly Kuai Liang comes up with the idea to create the Shirai Ryu. How likely is it that he made the decision to form an entire new clan on the spot? He seems way too prepared for this scenario.
Smoke: Once he's exposed, won't you be grandmaster? Scorpion: You forget Cyrax and Sektor. Their loyalty to Bi-Han is absolute. They'll sooner abet his corruption than follow me. We must chart a new course.
Why did Tomas not know about this when they're part of the same clan but Kuai Liang knows the answer immediately? It's almost like he has thought it through before, tried to figure out exactly who would side with him and who wouldn't if it came down to important Lin Kuei members choosing between him and Bi-Han. And that's because he has. It even says so in his official bio.

Kuai Liang always intended to overthrow Bi-Han.
He admitted that he was aware of Bi-Han's frustrations all along and yet he never brought up his concerns to Liu Kang or anyone else. It seems that he intended to take advantage of how mentally unstable his brother was in order to become grandmaster himself. I'm not saying he always wanted the title to himself, Kuai Liang doesn't care about power, but his obsession with tradition equals Bi-Han's obsession with power. He wanted to rule the Lin Kuei himself to enforce his own ideals and when he realized that wouldn't work out, he settled for the next best thing: creating his own clan.
Kitana in comparison also knows that Mileena is impulsive and many people doubt that she's fit to lead but she supports her sister regardless. Her loyalty to Mileena is unwavering. Kitana loves and supports her sister unconditionally. It doesn't even once cross her mind to take Mileena's place on the throne.
Kuai Liang and Kitana share similar values, yet Kitana's loyalty to her sister outweighs all that while Kuai Liang didn't hesitate to plot against Bi-Han way before Bi-Han even sided with Shang Tsung. Just Bi-Han's frustration alone was reason enough for Kuai Liang to want to overthrow his brother.
Ashrah, a complete stranger, cares more about redeeming Bi-Han than his own brother does. And no, Kuai Liang's actions can't be justified by bringing up that Bi-Han let their father die or betrayed Earthrealm etc. because Kuai Liang gave up on him long before any of that happened. In fact, the way Kuai Liang constantly brings up their father at every chance he gets probably added to Bi-Han's frustrations and is part of the reason why he was driven to madness.
Scorpion: Glory? We fight for duty. Sub-Zero: Does our father's ghost possess you? All I hear is his voice.
Bi-Han seems haunted by their father's ghost and Kuai Liang knows, yet he doesn't shy away from bringing it up at every opportunity. Was it done on purpose? Who knows.
But it's noteworthy that it's again manipulative behavior. The way Kuai Liang constantly criticizes Bi-Han, undermines his authority, compares him to their father whenever he can although he knows about Bi-Han's frustrations, then claims a shadow has fallen on Bi-Han's soul when he at the very least partially helped cast that shadow.
I'm not sure why people claim Kuai Liang was supportive of Bi-Han before his betrayal because there's no evidence of that at all. At least, none that I could find. Kuai Liang seems reluctant to follow Bi-Han's orders and he also doesn't seem to respect him much. Again, compare that to how Kitana shows actual concern for Mileena while Kuai Liang just seems fed up with Bi-Han.
Personally, I believe Kuai Liang's goals are far bigger than we know at this point. Something about the line "The Shirai Ryu won't rest until Bi-Han is defeated and the Lin Kuei's honor is restored" suggests that, while he built his own clan, Kuai Liang still has some interest in the Lin Kuei. I doubt that he's just planning to take down Bi-Han to let someone else be grandmaster in his place. I think that Kuai Liang wants to merge both clans once Bi-Han is defeated. After all, Kuai Liang's bio mentions that he's willing to fight his brother for control of the Lin Kuei's legacy. He might think it would be in his father's interest if he became grandmaster of both clans. However, that's just an educated guess and might not be true at all.
How Kuai Liang treats Bi-Han:
Kuai Liang never trusted Bi-Han's leadership skills or acknowledged his authority
The conflict of interest between the brothers always existed, even before Bi-Han switched sides and Kuai Liang always planned to take the grandmaster title from Bi-Han
Kuai Liang attempted to (and would have) killed Bi-Han but was interrupted in doing so
He's eager to fight Bi-Han, while Tomas is reluctant
He seems to have always held very little love for Bi-Han, if any at all, although he claims they used to be close once
Harumi:
Does no one else think it's a little bit suspicious that the woman Kuai Liang ends up "falling in love with" is a capable fighter and head of her own clan, someone with exactly the resources, knowledge and means to provide Kuai Liang with everything he needs to build his own clan? He even names the Shirai Ryu after Harumi, a clan whose goal it is to take down Kuai Liang's hated brother, someone Harumi probably knows little about or never even met. Maybe I'm the only one to think that's kind of messed up and not a romantic gesture, but at least he's giving her some credit, right? Does Harumi lead the Shirai Ryu with Kuai Liang or did he take her own clan from her to build his own? I couldn't really find any information regarding that but it would be even more messed up if the Shirai Ryu are originally Harumi's clan that Kuai Liang simply took over.
Another weird detail is how Smoke calls Harumi Kuai Liang's "good friend" in his own ending, which makes you wonder if he left the Shirai Ryu before Kuai Liang and Harumi became a couple? Does he know Kuai Liang doesn't actually love Harumi? It's confusing because Tomas is the person closest to Kuai Liang. Shouldn't he be the first to know if his brother fell in love and is planning to get married?
Kuai Liang's reaction when Kitana congratulates him on his marriage is rather cold as well. He doesn't seem like a happy, newly married man and it makes me think their marriage wasn't necessarily out of love, at least not on Kuai Liang's side.
How Kuai Liang treats Harumi:
There's not enough known about their relationship yet to really know if Kuai Liang's love for Harumi is genuine
He benefitted a lot from his friendship with her when creating the Shirai Ryu
It's strange that Tomas only calls Harumi Kuai Liang's "good friend"
Final conclusion:
Kuai Liang seems to follow a pattern of binding people to him emotionally (Tomas, Harumi... ) to be able to use them to his own advantage. I'm not saying that he doesn't care about them at all, but first and foremost, they're assets to him and family second.
For someone who claims to care about honor, Kuai Liang sure has very little of it. SPOILERS: The fact that Kuai Liang is willing to let Bi-Han die and deny him treatment when he gets infected with chaos magic says a lot about the type of person he is. How is it honorable to kick a man when he's down? How is it honorable that he wants to kill Frost during his own wedding and Harumi has to beg him to spare her life?
To get this straight, this is not an attempt to paint Kuai Liang as the epitome of all evil or to say he doesn't care at all about the people in his life, just that he's much more cold and calculating than people give him credit for. Just because Kuai Liang has chosen the good side while Bi-Han went down the wrong path doesn't necessarily make him a nice person. He's still vindictive and selfish. He still shows toxic behavior.
I know someone will try and twist this post into something it isn't, so let me say this is NOT a personal attack on Kuai Liang fans or an attempt to spread negativity, it's just my opinion that you're free to disagree with. I blame the writers and their obvious bias for Scorpion that Kuai Liang's bad traits are so often overlooked. This post is only me sharing my thoughts. If it offends you, block me. I don't want to see this reblogged with paragraphs from people trying to defend Kuai Liang.

I'm gonna be completely honest, my understanding of his lore/personality is very surface level since we didn't really get to know him during the Sumeru Archon quest. It was mostly just setting him up as a villain.
However, I've really been wanting to get back into genshin, so I thought this would be a good start. Please feel free to tell me if there is something wrong with my characterization. Also please request more genshin stuff, I'd love to write for it more.

I see Dottore is very manipulative and controlling. No matter who you are, he will find a way to take control of you and your life. Dottore is known as the doctor, so I could see him taking you in a student, especially if you have the same views as him when it comes to the Archons. If you don't, then he'll manipulate you into thinking the way he does. He will not have you worshiping those false idols around him. I could also see him growing fond of one of Arlecchino's orphans. Why he's so drawn to you is a mystery. You could remind him of his younger self, striving for recognition among a sea of morons. Perhaps you're low ranking Fatui member, someone who works under him and strokes his ego in a way he oh so enjoys. Either way, the outcome will always be the same.
Dottore needs to control you. It's in his nature. As his student, he sees nothing wrong with telling you what to do and how to do it, including moving into a spare room in his lab. He doesn't understand why you feel the need to argue with him, he is your superior and you will listen to him. However, there is a small part of him that is worried for you, and it's easy to make sure you're okay when he's the one making every decision for you. If you just let him decide what you're eating, and what you're learning, and when you can leave the lab, then you'll be perfectly safe.
Dottore feels no problem with manipulating you, in fact he enjoys it. You are a child, expressed in the way you act and the way you are so, very naive. It's for your own good really, and it really isn't manipulation if what he's telling you is the truth. The world outside his Lab is dangerous, scary, and would rip you alive limb to limb if you're not careful. So, you should just let him take care of you, it's easier that way.
Some days, you'll get a completely different Dottore. One who's sweet and caring, who lets you have a few extra minutes at breakfast before starting classes. Who smiles at your clear excitement when you preform an experiment right. However, there are other days when Dottore is more cruel, who yells and screams when you try to leave. Who says he will hunt you down, that there isn't anywhere in Teyvat that can keep you safe from him. Who locks you in your room when you're misbehaving. You know that it's his clones, but sometimes they stay for too long, wearing down you down until you're on your last leg, only for his mood to flip. It's scary, and honestly you're not sure if that's the point.
Dottore encourages any behavior similar to his. This isn't just strictly related to his work, he will praise you when you're cruel to others, when you are calculating in stressful situations, even when you're short with him, a part of him is proud. Dottore likes when he can see himself in you, it fills him with a strange sense of joy, one that he usually finds disgusting. But when it's because of you, he doesn't find himself hating it as much.
Dottore doesn't want you interacting at all with the other harbingers, or anyone else for the matter. He want's you all to himself. You are his, that's final. He needs you to be with him, he'd never admit it but he doesn't know what he'd do without his favorite student. He'd go even more insane without you, so don't you dare leave him.

An evil Emperor with a human taxidermy collection? An insane dragon slave that stabs everyone in sight? A cute pink haired servant who loves pain? Our mysterious villainess with amnesia is the cruelest and darkest of them all. She's a slave trader who owns most of the cast.
Ananse is a beautiful and charismatic slave trader. She's also very powerful and wealthy. She only has to answer to the Emperor. He's one of the few men scarier than her.

We find her in a pool of blood, dying. She has been stabbed by a slave. Her people, the Regba, must collect special slaves to present to the Emperor. Dragons. Demons. Dangerous things like that. He likes to keep them as toys. Ananse is one of the most hated women in the world. She steals rare creatures, humanoid ones, from battlefields that are her Emperor's doing. Ravaged by his armies.
It's not a shock that one slave finally got her in the gut. She faces assassins nearly daily.

This is the man who killed her. A dragon named Solteo. He's...insane. He has some sort of deep relationship with Ananse.
Ananse doesn't have her memories, so she's clueless.
She tells Solteo she doesn't know who he is.
He screams and cries like he's in real pain. He says being forgotten by her is the cruelest thing that could happen to him.

Ananse told him he would be punished, after he stabbed her. Even near death she seemed confident, and now Solteo knows. He is in love with the woman who debased him. His owner. It's a cruel fate. He probably wouldn't have realized if Ananse had died, but she comes back stupid and weak.
She begs him for mercy, and he hates it.

She also apologized for breaking him before she died, so that implies....alot. This is not a light story. Slaves get beaten. They are property. The special ones get added to the Emperor's taxidermy collection. It's hard to guess what their relationship was, but he was afraid of her. Yet, when she returned from the dead weak he was enraged.
It's such a good setup for potential yandere nonsense. I hope it grows into something monstrous and weird.

Even if it doesn't we have this guy. Ananse doesn't recognize him, but he is her servant. One of her closer servants. He idolizes her and he loves her cruelty. She has to hit him regularly, or he will notice that she's not the same cruel master she once was.
That would be very bad, because this worshipful dog is one of her main protectors.
Ananse has to figure out how to trick her servants.
They WILL kill her if her memory loss leaks out.
Ananse must be powerful and cruel, or she will die.

A new premium slave arrives.
A country has lost in war.
The Regba have selected the finest slaves, after sorting through the survivors.
This one is a former prince.
Ananse must break him and prepare him for her Emperor, or SHE will have to entertain the madman instead.
It's implied that Ananse did not want to lead the Regba. She was just born into the role. Her father has already been killed for displeasing the Emperor.
She will be next, if she doesn't learn how to tame the ice prince fast.

She lets him return there, despite the murder attempt. Her servants applaud her toughness, and they expect her to punish him for daring to hurt her personally.

Their negotiation goes in Solteo's favor.

Solteo, despite being a slave who made an attempt on her life, decides to take advantage of her amnesia to have some kind of relationship with her.
Nobody is in the right here.
Ananse is undeniably an awful person. Her subordinates stab and sometimes kill slaves that dare to complain. Solteo is clinging to Ananse for unknown reasons. He says he will train her. He will teach her how to dominate her slaves and people, if she lets him stay by her side.
That's messed up.
(Also Ananse promises him his freedom, but he doesn’t seem to actually want it. He could have just killed her. She's currently clueless and frightened. Her amnesia has turned her into a fragile woman, but he doesn't kill her. He also sniffs and hugs the blanket she uses.)

What would it be like if you were Wally's puppeteer?
I actually have a whole story, start to finish for that scenario! I'll provide the links to the Masterlist that have the parts for it below, alongside some extra little info and just an overview for his behaviors and thoughts! Just a heads up, these Masterlists are a bit chaotic, because I am not well practiced in making them! 😅 Also, the story is pretty old - my first one on here - so idk how well it holds up!
Being Wally Darling's Puppeteer:
TW: Idol Worshipping, Obsessive Behavior, Unintentional Violence (Puppet Man Doesn't Understand how Fragile Humans can be)
As a puppet, Wally isn't necessarily in as much control over you as he would be as a puppeteer. He doesn't mind, though! He doesn't see the need to control you. It's your job to control him. Why would he want to control you?
He always knew he was a puppet, but not necessarily what it meant. To him and his friends, being a puppet was basically the same as being human, just with more stuffing and felt than skin and bone. So, when he got brought to the human world, realizing that every puppet has a puppeteer... someone who controls what they say and do everyday... his mind is blown. His mindset is filled with the idea that making you happy will, in turn, make his already pleasant life perfect! His friends will be even happier, he will be happier, and most importantly, you will be happier!
Then, that desire to make his own life better fades away as everything settles in better. As he watches you, he begins to grow attached to you. Well, more so than a puppet and puppeteer already are. You are his savior! Think about it! Someone who controls what he says and does in his world... What does that sound like to you?
He isn't scared to reveal himself to you. He's your puppet! Why would you be scared if he is walking and talking? You are pals! You have a bond stronger than pals, actually! He wants your attention. He wants your affection. He wants you to be proud of him. He needs it.
He is willing to go to extreme lengths, however, he doesn't understand the consequences of it. As a puppet, he can handle things like... say, a heavy object falling from a high place and hitting his head. That may sound very specific, but as a three foot tall puppet, that's one of the few things he can do. He can also handle things like accidentally stapling himself. Just pull it out! It feels uncomfortable, yes, but no severe injuries! He doesn't understand that humans can't handle it. That humans are harmed by it. He may know that if feels uncomfortable for them and mean to do these things, but he doesn't understand the extent of injury these actions can cause.
So, you may notice some of your coworkers being brought to the hospital for odd injuries. An "incident with the stapler", "a large box of tools fell on their head", "the sewing machine malfunctioned". They never really want to explain what actually happened when they come back, either. They tend to avoid you, too. Wally does feel bad, don't get me wrong! He didn't mean to hurt them that badly... But, depending on the person, he might think they deserved it. It was Saturday night, and Wooyoung was mindlessly scrolling through twitter when all of a sudden, you. It was a mindless tweet concerning your newest comeback.
"OMG Y/n (or nickname) looks so good in this comeback please step on me!!!" Usually, when things like that popped up on his feed he would just scroll past it without a single thought. But attached to the tweet was a video. A fancam… of you. And to say the least, the dance was a little… provocative. Sensual.
Wooyoung doesn't recall how many times he watched that exact fancam, but he knows that after that things weren't ever the same. That night he searched and scoured every source of media he had downloaded. Youtube, twitter, google, etc. If you had a favorite show, he found out about. Books, clothes, height, weight, and even more was all discovered by Wooyoung. It felt right. Your group, the concept, and even more so you.
Jung Wooyoung was your biggest fan. Almost everyone knew it. He posted every clip he could find of you, bought every album, every product you had used or mentioned, and he even got into dancing too. He wasn't very good at first but he practiced day and night in the hopes of one day impressing you. His one and only idol. For you, he'd do anything. He'd go anywhere. And he did.
This was your first world concert, and you bet your ass he pulled out multiple devices trying to get front-row seats.
So there he was, standing next to the barricade cheering and screaming your name as loud as he could.
He dressed in his sexiest clothing, did his makeup, his hair, all for you. And it was all worth it when he finally saw you. Your beauty was blinding, and he was frozen. Stuck to floor as his eyes looked at every strand of hair and every flawless flaw he could find adorned on you. You were perfect.
Wooyoung screamed your name as loud as he could muster and you noticed! You looked at him! Your eyes showed him that affection that he knew know one else deserved. You loved him just as he loved you!
Throughout the night he continued to scream various "i love you!"" and "Y/n!" until his voice grew horse. Even then he stilled admired your figure and still whispered how much he loved you to himself.
After the concert unfortunatly ended, it was now time for the meet and greet. In all honesty, he could care less about the other members. It was you he wanted. You, you, you.
And so there he was standing in a god awful, but worthwhile, line filled with stupid squealing girls all excited to meet their idol. But Wooyoung was different. First of all, he was the only guy there. And second, he knew that you and him… were destined. I mean the way you looked at him as he chanted your name he knew from that moment and even before then you loved him too.
These people around him could not compare to what he is. To what he can provide for you. He's seen all the interviews where the host tries to tug out who your ideal person was but you never said a thing. Maybe you were waiting for the perfect someone. The perfect man to love you, hold you, worship you.
And that was him.
You've been waiting for him. Just as he with you.
Lost in thought he pictured a very clear image. A house. You dressed in silk pj's asleep in your bed. Your shared bed. The sun shining on your face. Wooyoung could see it. Pictured it. All. So. Cleary. He would lean in and kiss you. A smile would bless your face subconsciously as you felt your soulmate near. Wooyoung would climb in and cuddle your form. He would feel and touch you all over. Grabbing and petting your body flushed against him.
He could be your everything. He would worship, please, and praise you to the highest extent possible. Wooyoung would obey your every command. Walk through fire if you so desired.
At night he pictured you commanding him. Obscene positions. Erotic sounds. His tongue on your body. Your hand around his neck as you called him pretty names. Wooyoung grew hot. His insides seemed to grow tingly as the images flash through his mind, as well as a sudden twitch down in his pants.
He felt dirty for thinking of these things. But how could he not? You were so seductive and desirable, especially with your new comeback. Wooyoung's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the security guard. He's next! This was it! He's going to meet you! He's going to confess everything… his love… his dreams…!
His heart was pounding harder and harder in his chest. It felt as if he was going to explode. Were you feeling the same? You had to be…
Wooyoung walked up to the first member of your group and did some casual talking. But it was you he was waiting for. The closer he got the harder he found it to breathe.
He was aching. His heart, his chest, his insides…
Two more members…
This is the moment he was going to tell everyone. The moment he met the love of his life…
One more damn member.
His mind was elsewhere. On you. Wooyoung could feel your presence. Your aura. It was suffocating. Intoxicating.
Time was up. Wooyoung got up and time seemed to move slowly. He sat down in front of you and everything went haywire.
Your smile, your eyes, your face…
"I love your outfit!" You said with a smile and a glimmer in your eyes. Wooyoung was rendered speechless just staring at you. He was going over every single detail he could find. And your hands… he was struggling to even breathe. Your hands looked so dainty, so vulgar…
"Are you okay?" You discreetly asked with a concerned expression on your face.
"Yes, sorry-"
"Don't be! What's your name?" You giggled as you took his hands within your own. The tingles in his stomach returned stronger and more intensly than before.
"W-Wooyoung…" He managed to whisper without moaning or sounding lewd. You smiled even wider as you looked him directly in his eyes. Wooyoung smiled and felt his face blush.
"That's a very pretty name, Wooyoung-"
"I love you."
"Thank you, Wo-"
"You’re my every thought. My every dream. My every fantasy. All I want is to hear your breath as I fall asleep. As I hold you and love you. I want to feel your warmth next to me, forever. Even as I die I want to die entrapped in your arms. I’d give you everything I have, anything I could have, any possibility for more, for something other than you. I’d give it all up. Please love me! I NEED YOU. I need you beside me, talking to me, smiling at me, keeping me sane… I can't imagine a world without you! I love you! I LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH Y/N!"
By this point, Wooyoung was practically on top of the table with a deathly grip on your hands. His eyes were wide and his face contorted. Love? Desire? It was scaring you. Not just you but everyone else in the room. It was all silent except for the endless rambling of his "love".
You started to feel scared as he moved closer and closer. His hands slithered up to your shoulders, feeling your pulsating heartbeat that seemed to be inclining more and more with every word he dared preached.
"I love you I love you I love you I love you I love I-" He spewed out as his hands reached up further gripping your face.
"Y/n Y/n Y/n Y/n…" He whispered as he leaned in closer to your lips, his eyes shining in a dangerous light.
You tried to braced yourself but he was ripped away from you.
"NO NO NO NO-"
"GET HIM OFF!" The guard shouted as the other tried to pry him off of you like a leech. But Wooyoung was still holding on, tears spilling from his face, nails rooted and digging into your now red bleeding forearm.
"Y/N I LOVE YOU!" He screamed as his nails dragged against your skin as the guard pulled him off you. With the force, you fell back crying and hyperventilating. But the shouting never stopped His screeches of "Don't let them take me" and "I love you" only grew angrier and desperate. He sounded insane.
You closed your eyes and felt a pair of arms around you, holding you tightly…
"I won't let them take you from me-" Wooyoung whispered into your messy hair.
"GET HIM OFF OF ME!" And within half a second he was again yanked away from you thrashing, kicking, yelling.
"Y/N I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!"
Those were the last words from him as multiple guards held onto his legs and arms deciding to carry him out and away from the premise. Away from you.
You watched as he was taken away, his eyes never leaving yours once. Even after a few minutes you still heard his cries and wails of your name. It was haunting. Scary. Frightening. You half expected the fanboy to come running back somehow escaping the five guards.
Your other members gathered around you on the floor embracing you and hushing your silent cries, while your manager calmed the fans down explaining that the fan meeting was now most definitely over.
You wanted to throw up. You can still hear him. Whether it was real or not it terrified you.
Wooyoung. The sick fanboy. The obsessed fan.
But it was all over. It was over now.

So I watched that video on youtube "It's all about Ruby" where they explain why ruby is probably the cause of all the supernatural stuff and i dont know why i didnt think of that earlier.
I didn't see anyone talk about it here so i just wanted to point out the times when ruby imply that she is the one being guided every time she gains some kind of succes in her career.

so the theory that since this town worships amenouzume (the goddes of art, deity off fulfilled wishes.) its probably the fact that sarina prayed to become an idol and died before it could be fulfilled that she was listened and eventually reborn (mind you, she wasn’t reborn for 4 years and just waited till ai will give birth, in contrast to aqua who convieniently died the same night. Why would they give ai's child the soul of a girl already dead for 4 years if she wouldn't be connected.) as ai's child with aqua there with her as 'the only other person she loved'.

That's what the theory says and im inclined to agree. after all, the crow girl says herself that ruby is fulfilling her role amazingly meanwhile aqua still has to think about it.
(But what is ruby doing different than aqua? They both try to get to their father. Unless, ruby being popular is an important factor.)

Let me just point out as well that shes basically saying ai's death or rather the hope of her reincarnation is the factor that would stop them from achievening their goal or purpose, so we can say ai's death was a very important factor in whatever happened and, maybe, just as goro's death to ruby, was supposed to drive them to change their behavior. It's already something we could assume but the question is what role did crow girl played in ai's death and why she choose not to reincarnate her. Bc It's like she's saying aqua can't hope for ai to live a happy life since it distracts him from his destiny, because then he would rest, and he still doesn't do what he's supposed to.
Personally, I think there is a big missing piece of puzzle we still dont know, either in ruby's past with the gods or ai's secret we haven't came to know, that is the cause of it all. But surely all those things contributed majorly as well, after all ruby is more important to the plot than some people might think bc of her absence.
Oh and someone also noticed the mention of amaterasu (connected to amenouzume)

Opinion on Kankri (or Cronus)
Oof ill be honest it's been a while since a did a good examination of their canon characters
Let me preface this with the fact that each of them are supposed to be obviously recognizable as exaggerated stereotypes of different kinds of real people.
They're both problematic in their own ways, Kankri in his performative advocacy that only goes as far as correcting others and going on long rants about the implications of an issue and Cronus is his idolizing of the Greaser life and "nice guy" bs. But the thing is, they're literally eternally stuck as 19 year old ghosts, just arguing with their friends and alt versions of them and themselves. They don't grow or mature and they don't have any better perspectives to teach them better even if they were open to accepting that the way they act isn't okay. They each think the way they are is who they have to be in order to be an activist for Kankri or be cool for Cronus.
Are they great people trolls? No but again they're 19, dead, and stuck in a video game with an infinite number of other 19 year old versions of themselves and their friends.
But they do each play their own part in the story and when examining both the way that society was on Beforus and their narratives amongst their ancestors/dancestors they make sense.
For Kankri, Karkat, and Signless (who is literally Kankri but on Alternia), their major recurring thing is being treated differently by society because of their blood mutation. While Kankri doesn't have to fear being killed due to his blood color he does still face hella ableism because the society on Beforus believes lowbloods should be coddled due to their lack of power in comparison to highbloods. The trolls of the cancer sign always have to fight for themselves somehow as a reoccurring theme and Kankri's activism is his. Had he been able to continue growing and learning he could've become a better activist as he got older but because of the game he didn't and now spends eternity frozen as the same person.
For Cronus, Eridan, and Dualscar, their characters think of themselves as cool and better than others because of their status as violet bloods but in reality is regularly disregarded personally and not as worshipped as they think they should be. With the peaceful society of Beforus his "nice guy" bs was given more room to flourish bc he wasn't spending his time causing as much bloodshed and instead was focusing on how to make himself "cool" in a misguided attempt to get the attention he wants. Hussie himself has been quoted calling Cronus the worst character in homestuck and that's what he was created to be for the story. Had their session not started, could Conus have become a better troll some day? Maybe but we'll never know.
At the end of the day, they were both created to play a specific part and have a specific influence on the story.
Did I used to have fun back in high school shipping them? Yeah a bit but I grew out of that a long time ago. There's actually a Cronkri fic on AO3 that low-key still haunts me to this day. It can be a cute and fun ship if you wanna have fun with it. Are they good for each other? No but depiction does not equal glorification and it was through the exploration of characters like that going through some (tbh uncomfortable) stories that taught me some perspective on certain things and the only way to learn and grow as a person is to explore stuff like that. Plus it's okay to just have fun with silly bad characters I mean look at Vriska lmfao
Sorry that this turned into a whole thing but they're both characters that were intentionally written to be kinda shitty teenagers and too many ppl turn into real life Kankris trying to villify fictional characters.

What do you think would happen if Yandere rivals or team for Yandere romantic Leo who’s trying to keep the reader to himself only for Yandere platonic. Mikey who won’t let Leo keep the reader all to himself , will their make a deal or keep on fighting ? 🌹( (Rottmnt request )
Another analysis. Lovely. My favorite type of requests.
So if I understood this correctly, how would a rivalry go for romantic yandere Leo and platonic yandere Mikey? Specifically where Leo wants to keep MC to himself and Mikey would rather not have a sole person keep them.
First of all, considering that Leo is a manipulative type (based off of many canon details) he might even try to manipulate Mikey. Leo loves his brother dearly but if he's crazy then he'll be driven to try to convince Mikey to let him keep MC for himself.
You could interpret this in numerous ways but I personally think he might try to almost guilt-trip Mikey. Leo knows that Mikey has a soft spot for the family and his passions (art + cooking) and will try to do anything to keep them happy so Leo will definitely use that as an advantage. Saying things like, "Mikey, don't you want your big brother happy? Nothing in life has stood out to me more than them, you know that."
It could work, especially after the course of the movie, but Mikey still has his own psychological strengths as well. Meaning he can see through Leo's mind games. His ability to read emotions and thoughts is up there, maybe not as refined as Leo's but more advanced than Donnie and Raph for sure. This can lead to a long, long conflict between the two.
Now, moving on to some background information for Mikey before we go into the conflict shit; I view him as the obsessive/worshipping type. There isn't much to go off of honestly but I personally feel this way since his idolizing of Meat Sweats can go the same way for MC as well.
If Meat Sweats is his idol for cooking, then I would say MC could be an idol for him for art, personality, and anything really. So if he were to initiate action before Leo, he'll gather his small but surprisingly strong cult to spread the word of MC while having them stand beside him. This way he can gather strength in numbers and try to defy Leo's possessiveness.
"Hey, do you guys feel bored some days and feel like nothing is exciting in life? Then try checking out a pass time of trying to learn and spread the way of our deity, MC!"
Moving on, the chaos of their conflict.
It's really pushing back and forth until someone takes final action.
What are these final actions you may ask?
Mikey will have gathered a group of believers enough to overpower Leo (even with his portal ability). Meanwhile, Leo successfully breaks down Mikey and can keep MC all to himself.
It's really chaotic and doesn't have a straightforward plan, even for Leo.
But we have one more possibility to think about here.
Would they ever make a deal?
Mikey is willing to, but it again would take some heavy convincing on Leo's side. He would see it as a way to keep MC and Leo happy, not because he's ok with Leo taking MC for himself. So, in other words, Leo can be together with MC but the cult has to be able to worship MC.
Leo, I feel like would never even consider such a thing. Leo may be more responsible/mature after the movie but his want for something to have for himself holds him down strong. The only way he would make a deal is by following Mikey's terms, then finding a dimension/world that Mikey would take forever to. He'll send letters tho <3.
This is my analysis. There is a lot more that could be dissected from these two but for now, I think you get the point.

We are finally about to see Kiyoi's point of view. For those that haven't read my other reviews, you can catch them here. Also I want to give a reminder of what a D/s relationship is. D/s is one aspect of the wider category of BDSM, sometimes also known as kink. Some people are into all of the things listed under BDSM, and some only some of them. D/s is more about power than about physical sensation. The submissive consensually gives up more power to the Dominant in their relationship. That's it. However, it's important to note that D/s lifestyle relationships have a certain dynamic. A Dominant views their sub as a treasure, even as they hold all or most of the control and the submissive worships their Dominant.
Kiyoi - "I wanted to be an idol when I grew up. Everyone seems so happy on the tv. I was alone and they seemed so happy. I wanted to join them. Fans always wave their hands like crazy at the idols on tv. As though dedicating themselves to them. All though it sounds a little scary, I guess their happy if their worshipped that way. We start Kiyoi's point of view after he has kissed Hira and they have separated ways. He is now practicing for a play that they are going to put on for the café and everyone is making fun of his inability to deliver the line "I like you" with sincerity. Saying it's likely due to the fact that he has never actually said it in real life. When he is practicing alone, he begins flashing back to when he met Hira.
When I first saw him. I knew nothing could happen between us, just a useless person. But then I can tell from his eyes that I'm the only person in his world. <- Kiyoi doesn't view anyone as Important. He has been discarded and left alone by his family. Used by his peers. No one is someone to him. That changes though when he sees that he is everything in Hira's eyes.

You look kind of gross when you look surprised. I don't care about this type of person. The kind that just keeps staring at me. It's all out of curiosity. That's it. So Beautiful. <- If Kiyoi doesn't care then he can't get hurt. He is use to everyone not caring about him and only using him. It's safer behind his wall.
Flashback ends and we are back to the practice room in the here and now: It's the first time that someone has complimented me so bluntly and directly. I longed to be stared at like that again and the desire continues to grow stronger and stronger. I didn't know that it was like, at that time. I like you.
We once again flash back to the past. To the day that he asks Hira to save them a table. He says that day when he first engages with Hira is out of curiosity. "I want to know what he wants from me" Because Kiyoi is used to only being used.

Can I trust those eyes. Is he really different than the others? I hear the pounding of his heartbeat. Why? Gross
Flashback to when he lost the contest. I signed up for the contest to fulfill my dream but when I didn't win, everyone left me. <- See that day, he had to push Hira away because he was completely prepared for him to treat him like the others. Maybe not right away but eventually. Then he realized he was wrong. That Hira would not leave him. That Hira's eyes still looked at him the same.

Then comes the moment where Hira defends him. Are people who are religious like this? It reminds me of the crazy fans that I've seen in the past. Hira, you can sacrifice yourself to me to this extent...
It is very hard to describe the relationship between us. But Hira is the one that made me realize I could be POWERFUL and be me. <- What is a Dom? So what is he describing?

"Do you have something you want to tell me?" I even asked him first, but he would not say anything! This is probably the last time I'll see him. He does like me doesn't he. Kiyoi kisses Hira. I think he was very shocked I can't even believe it myself. That was my first kiss! The memory of that first kiss will always remain. It's so intense, like him.
He probably wouldn't have thought that I would think of him in such a way. Hira is kind of arrogant in some ways though he isn't aware of it. He never tried to understand how I felt. He has been completely gone since graduation.

I never really thought he would completely stop following me after we graduated. It was very obvious that he was sincere to me by the way he looked at me.
For all that Kiyoi talks about Hira being arrogant. He doesn't go looking for Hira. He knows where he lives but he doesn't go. Then he finds out that the Director of the play has a little brother and he is dating Hira. Hira is happy! I can't believe it! And who is this guy with bad taste in everything. They don't match at all! 🤣🤣🤣 Is this the reason why he stopped contacting me! He tells the director to invite them to the play.
The day of the play comes. I can hear my heart beating so loud that it's going to explode! My hands were trembling so much. So unlike me. Then he sees him. This is the face that I've been thinking about day and night. I could still see the passion in Hira's eyes.
Hira says yes initially to going to the after party. I thought I had won. Even though I felt bad for Koyama. He needed to know that he stood no chance. Then Hira apologizes and says he can't come. This leaves Kiyoi extremely hurt. He feels abandoned as he has been by others. He chose someone else. Something that Hira had given him the confidence to believe would never happen.
Hira begins to show up to many of the plays. This confuses Kiyoi because Hira has clearly chosen Koyama. Kiyoi invites him to the after party and this time Hira comes. However, one of the other actors notices that Kiyoi is always looking at Hira and asks what Hira was like. "To be honest, he is the kind to tell you that you are beautiful and follow you around. Keeps taking photos of you, kept to himself. Kind of a gross person." "But you invited him anyways." The light bulb goes off in Kiyoi's head. Especially when the guy hits on him. It's different. Totally different. I don't feel anything when this guy looks at or touches me. What I want is...him.
As Kiyoi is sitting on the bank where he used to meet Hira, he goes over his script and stops at "I like you." He flashes back to the day that he saw the rubber duck floating in the dirty gutter way. I feel like I was that yellow duck. Forced to be in a place where none of us wanted to be. Maybe there is a chance to find a partner. That's just impossible. Disgusting! <- Kiyoi isn't saying Disgusting to the duck. He doesn't want to have hope. He is scared of it.
How can I forget about him. The way I feel about Hira is... I Like You! I Like You A Lot! The Director praises Kiyoi on his acting, he finally captured the essence of Love. It's so gross! Damn it! Why talk about love, I just want to see him again. But at the same time I don't want to see him anymore! This dilemma makes me feel helpless.
Even if a hundred eyes stared at me when on stage, his eyes would be the only ones I couldn't resist. This is when we see the move from a boy acting like a Dom. One who wants the adoration of so many. To a man who can be Dom if given the chance because he cares about no one else but his submissive. He is learning that it isn't about what the masses think of you, it's what the important people to you think. If your living to impress many people, you'll always disappoint but if you are selective on who you want to impress. You can live up to the expectation.
He calls Hira. He quickly calls and hangs up. Then waits to see if it would be like it used to be. Where Hira would automatically call him back. Does Hira still feel the same? If not then this will be it. Hira does call back and Kiyoi quickly lies and says he called the wrong number but then he asks to practice his line at his house.

Koyama accidently knocks over Hira's picture box and sees all the pictures of Kiyoi. He now knows who that one person was that Hira would only take pictures of. He know Kiyoi is coming over and now he is striving to hang onto him. Kiyoi misunderstands the situation and though Hira tries to rush after him to explain he stutters. Kiyoi tells him, "I told you I don't care. Goodbye" Then leaves.
Koyama and Hira's conversation feels like a conversation between a Vanilla and a Kinkster. "Didn't Kiyoi say you were gross?" "He said that before." Finding it hard to explain that he understands that Kiyoi doesn't mean it for it's actual meaning. Wanting to explain that it doesn't have the effect that it would on others but not having the words to do it. "I like him for who he is.." "I don't understand." They often don't. "Why do you like him?" "I'm sorry. I don't know how to describe it." "Goodbye, Hira."

Joker Hanging out with Elementary Schoolers
Now that's a title.
So, after watching that second Coro Coro All-Star episode, my friend and I were joking about Joker being this (headcanoned) 16 year old surrounded by a bunch of elementary schoolers, and we started to talk about how funny pathetic Joker is because I can ABSOLUTELY SEE Joker hanging around and getting along with elementary schoolers because he's just so immature... well of course, until he doesn't get along with them, which is also inevitable.
For whatever reason, he's stuck hanging with some elementary schoolers for a period of time, and some of these kids think he's SO COOL, some even know him from TV broadcasts and news, so he might even be their bad influence idol.
Joker loves it when people worship and praise him--yes, even if they're kids because his personality is terrible--so he'd act like he doesn't care so much but he is LOVING the praise, and probably shows off a trick or two to the kids since they're being so insistent (he's annoyed, but not too much. Yet.)
Eventually one of the kids teases him or insults him because that's what kids do, because Joker inevitably does something that isn't COOL or the kid wants to be contrary about, and Joker, on the same level of an elementary schooler, gets into a 'I know you are but what am I' level of argument and petty squabble--
"Why do you wear a cape? Can't somebody grab it? What if it gets caught in something? Are you stupid?"
Joker gets INCREDIBLY offended, because capes are cool and he wouldn't make a rookie mistake like that. It's for the aesthetic. The cape is an incredibly important part of his outfit.
This kid basically calls his get-up cringe after that, 'it's worse than what a preschooler would make up', and that's when the argument completely breaks down.
The kid's just teasing him and saying kid things and Joker is trying to tell this kid how DISRESPECTFUL HE IS TO THE HISTORY OF PHANTOM THIEVES, DON'T YOU KNOW ALL THE BEST PHANTOM THIEVES WORE CAPES!?
and now you have a division of some ten year olds on his side nodding and going 'YEAH' and other ten year olds who are either completely disoriented or think it's really funny to tease Joker.
Initially the joke had started as 'Joker hangs with elementary schoolers because elementary schoolers understand him best' because his friends his age are SUCH A DRAG read: more mature and trying to hold him accountable and I do think he has much more shame and pride than to outright say he prefers to hang with elementary schoolers, but... Joker ends up indirectly saying this. dfjgiofgh
But of course he ends up actually around kids and they want to do kid things that he actually has grown out of a little bit, or they hit him back with his level of maturity, and then suddenly kids are AWFUL.
And if Hachi isn't there yet to do damage control, he arrives on the scene like JOKER'S MOM to pick up his disrespectful and terrible 16 year old child that is .5 seconds away from duking it out with a first grader.
And then of course when Joker's back on the Sky Joker he gets The Earful from Hachi where he's lectured for a good thirty minutes about accountability and maturity, Hachi who is probably no older than 11 but easily three times more mature in any given circumstance.
And of course this lecture is happening while Hachi is COOKING DINNER FOR JOKER in his FRILLY PINK APRON while Joker is stuck on the couch (if Joker moves or tries to sneak away Hachi gets scary stern because he needs to SIT THERE and be lectured so Joker is STUCK. ON. THAT. COUCH- or else Hachi's going back to live with his parents and if this sounds like a marital dispute that's not my fault djfogijh)

Hi Im the same guy who asked about if ozai loved azula, and wanted to ask a follow up question if you dont mind. Does Azula love Ozai?
Against her better sense and all logic, she does, unfortunately. This doesn't blind her to the truth of the man her father is, but it's safe to say that Azula loves her father, and she might even be the person who ever loved him most, outright (feels a little difficult to decide between her and Ursa, but honestly, Ursa is a lot more ready to lose Ozai for good, in a final way, than Azula is).
This is, of course, part of the tragedy of their bond: Ozai is effectively destroying his connection with the one person in the world who truly cared about him, who didn't want or demand perfection from him, who idolized him as a child, who still cherished him without that kind of worship as a grown-up, someone who, even when she knew her father was a menace to the world who needed to be stopped, wanted to believe there was another way out besides having him killed. And as much as it hurts them both to see their bond collapsing as it has, Azula still cares about him, no matter if she knows she shouldn't.
Soooo yeah. It's a messy relationship. Ozai doesn't have the slightest clue of how to have a healthy relationship of any nature with anyone. It makes it extremely difficult to forge a bond like that with him... but Azula has always been attached to him, since her childhood. Breaking free completely from her father when he used to mean the world to her is much easier said than done, no matter if she deserves that kind of freedom.

ooohhh!!! i see i see! i had a feeling that it was something to do with magical stones! ive been around the isekai manga/manhwa/manhua scene to pick up on some common tropes for those (clearly. not the same as this game but like. u know theres been the whole. what i am saying is that i recongnize the magic stone as a power source thing from multiple fantasy settings, this game has NONE of those isekai story vibes minus everyone being soooo hot amen) but i also find it hilarious that helios is the one who basically launched idols into being more readily accessible, cold duke is the reason you can watch your babygirl trip on stage on that note, I am SO curious about Noah- he seems like the most overtly sweet out of all the interests so far and I am so damn curious about his actual religious views- the world believes the saints to be chosen by the gods right? does Noah believe that the Saint has been chosen by the Gods? or is there another reason Noah has such faith in the temple and/or the saint? (if u cant answer this without spoilers that is) im also just curious about any religious facts of tidbits you could give me! i love exploring religion in fantasy settings

I'm also a huge fan of the isekai manhwa scene (I've literally just finished reading the latest chapter for Villains are Destined to die) which honestly thinking of it, has probably inspired certain elements of the world! I definitely do try to make it different though as much as I can and create something new! But yeah I love the idea of magic stones as a power source it's just neat! /insert the meme here
It's also so funny that Helios, the man who swears by only classical and serious music (who is also secretly a theatre kid at heart) essentially propelled the idol scene 😂 it's his secret internal grumble.
There is only so much I can say about Noah but I'll do my best to answer as much as I can! His route is one of the two locked routes, and religion, or at least the God's play a huge part!
For his actual religious views, he does believe in the God's, and believes that you, the MC, has been brought over by the God too. Though he believes and has incredibly strong faith, he doesn't enforce or follow the doctrine as closely as others do though, so he's not very strict and is happy to help you with whatever you need and want to do, even if it bends the rules, because he can relate to your situation in a lot of ways!
Some religious facts!!
> The church is split into sectors, each following a different God, There are three main sectors, each for the three Supreme Rank Gods: Caitel (The God of Materia), Yuliana (The Goddess of Anti-Materia - my physics nerd is showing with her haha) and Tenebra (The God of creation). Noah is under the God Caitel, but he believes in all the God's. There are smaller sectors for the High Rank God's and for medium and lesser God's these are worshipped on a personal level.
> It's not just people who are brought over! Occasionally, different items come over from other worlds, which church scholars can spend decades trying to figure out how they work! The otherworldly travellers can help answer a lot of those questions 😂
> The church used to be equal to the throne, however, due to Helios work developing health care, the increased mercenaries who can be hired for protection, and a sudden appearance of new religions, they have lost power with the people which they desperately want to gain back. Some sectors believe the MC can do this for them, other sectors believe the MC will simply make it worse.
