I haven’t just listened to music in what seems like years. J finds it distracting so I don’t play it around the house and while I hear it every now and again in the Caverns, it’s been years since I’ve actively taken note of any of it.

Sometimes, everyone’s unspoken memories made me miss her. A girl I’d never known. With my face, my body, my voice, my life, my friends.

The first sequence was meaningless: color and movement and indecipherable sounds, but then I found myself standing in a dark space, a pool of water hanging the wrong way before me, defying every law of science. Reaching out, my fingers sent ripples through it, carrying me into my visions with much less hostility and headache.
I saw a familiar-looking man, a row of cell doors clicking open, the end of a needle, Jade crashing to her knees, two pits of molten silver, and then, finally, red.

I sighed again. “I know. But maybe that’ll beat some sense into them. They’re fighting like a bunch of animals.”

Hades drops to the step beside me, black chiton slipping above his knees and reminding me of the lanky little boy. I wish I remembered his name. “I am not the goddess of fire,” I remind him, as I often do.

Cauben was head of Civics, which was appropriate considering she reminded me strongly of a presidential candidate ready to stab her opponents’ eyes out with a “Vote for Cauben” pin.

Update on what my (potential) next plans for writing:
Main wip - The City of Eventide 2 (for lack of a better title)
It's still kind of vague right now but I'm thinking I might write a sequel to The City of Eventide because for some reason that's the story I keep going back to in my head like I'm still stuck with those characters.
Side projects (mostly for when I'm stuck on the main wip or want some variety)
Construct Story - Vague idea of a plot and characters that I haven't talked about much here. A being created by magic and slated to be destroyed after a failed revival betrays her fate by defecting and aiding a doppelganger in stopping the other him from cursing everything he touches.
unnamed gods story - Also vague plot but less vague characters that I might have posted about before? A handful of gods working under the most powerful one protect mortals from demons, and the demon lords, but the truth they've been told may not be as true as they think
Other projects
I still want to write the story with Volt and all them, but for some reason its not going very well so it's on like, the mega backburner for now until I can figure out where the problems are coming from. So for now this one is just an idea still.
Of course this is all subject to change depending on how stuff goes

13. talk about a wip you like!
oooh~ thats hard. cause i have multiple wips im exited about right now. So i'll just talk about my top few.
theres this one with Tangled Star MK and Nezha. I need to wrap up the lineart and then start coloring.
theres this one where im doodling TS Nezha with an OC that was basically inspired by him. I call thier Duo WildLotus. Thier my dangerous little guys. this entire canvas is really just a bunch of doodle wips. nothing too detailed.
This rough concept for an oc i'll get too eventually, it was inspired after watching Frieren. The pose she does while floating with her staff reminded me of this oc so i had to try it out. I need to figure out how to draw wolves though. Because while those creatures aren't wolves, thier body shape is inspired by wolves. so i need to figure out how to work it into this species and what i wanna change. thats rlly the only thing keeping me from this wip rn.
22. do you have a favorite color palette to work with?
nooooott really? I dont think so at least. I dont think i have color palletes. I've never really worked with specific color palletes before so I wouldnt know 😅
the closest i can think of is that i've noticed recently that i tend to lean towars warmer tones rather then cold.

When Tim was little, his parents mentioned a barely known God that spanned multiple civilizations; but no one really knew what he was the God OF.
And little Timmy, well, he felt bad for that God. Years, centuries of work only to be forgotten?
It would be like completing homework four weeks early and having everyone forget he'd done it!
So from age seven and up, Tim would start praying to this God. He had the same name across multiple languages, and Tim opted to just use what all of those names would be in English.
Phantom.
What started at first as a side thing became his predominant religion by the accident of developing a habit and continuing it over years.
When he prayed to Phantom, he felt like he was being acknowledged in a way that praying to other gods just did not provide.
Even when he kind of went agnostic, he'd always toss up a little prayer to the Almost-Forgotten God.
He didn't expect, during a kidnapping courtesy of Joker after a rather shitty patrol, for said God to manifest in front of him and fight Joker with his fists.
Or; the reason Danny survived the portal accident (sort of) was because he was already in the process of being deified by someone who was alive at the same time he was, making Tim his only worshipper.
Danny doesn't find this out until way later, and finds the guy who technically kept him alive to thank him-only to find him about to be tortured by a clown.
Danny loses his shit.

The pigeon grinned a beak full of dog’s teeth. “Ha. They say there aren’t. They even kept most of them out for a while.”
“How did you make it?”
“By being smart. By hiding.”
She gave the one-legged, feral feathered thing a sideways look. “As a pigeon?”
“Sometimes,” said the pigeon. “Sometimes I’m graffiti on a wall. Sometimes I’m a coin dropped in a beggar’s hand. I am neon at night, the rain in the light. I am the song the busker sings. I listen to the prayers of those who come to the city with big dreams.”
“And in return?”
It grinned again. Steam rolled off its feathers, smelling of cigarettes. “I eat their despair.”
“That’s cruel.”
It moved its wings in something like a shrug. “That’s the big city for you.”

The Fall of the House of Usher is many things and I'm making a conscious choice to not scream about every single one of them rn, but what left me staring at a wall in tears is just... kindness. Death was kind. She gave every choice, every reason to stop. She would take these kids anyway but she also regretted having to take them like that. She cared when nobody else would, even though they kept making the wrong choices.
She's never cruel for cruelty's sake. She wasn't cruel to Lenore. She just sent a child to sleep as lovingly as she could, with kind words and kinder touch.
And I don't even know how to express the absolute heartbreak with blinding warmth among the cracks, when Death herself kneels before one man, worst man, honest man, who refused her offer – and thanks him with such respect.
Mike Flanagan, you fucking did it again. Carla Gugino, you... I don't even have words for you. That's a whole-ass masterpiece of human soul, meaning, and searching right there.

For those who don't know, the US Supreme Court just ruled that states are allowed to enforce trans healthcare for minors. Undoubtedly, this will trigger a wave of other states that either hope to pass or have already passed policies to do the same. This is going to kill children, and harm more in long-lasting ways.
So, how can you help?
FUCKING VOTE. I don't care if you don't like Biden, he's not the only one on the ballot. Vote representatives into your city council who will turn our city into a sanctuary city. Vote for governors and state reps who will, even if they don't pass new protections, oppose bans being pushed through. Chsllenge and kick out conservative incumbents who are banking on their races being obscure enough for people to not vote in.
Anyone telling you voting is useless is either lying to you or grossly uninformed and think saying this is the edgy new take that will make them look hip and informed. Yes, the system is broken. But short of burning the whole thing to the ground (which personally I'm not a fan of as I quite enjoy having like. Roads and the FDA) what we can do is to change it for the better, by starting with the local races and working our way up.
