My problem with making a Christmas list is I feel like half the things I put will end up being things I never use? I almost never complete my games, I only read at school, and I don't watch DVDs that much. I spend so much time convincing myself every possible item could be a waste.

I always struggle with gifts when it comes to the holidays. My mind goes blank when someone asks what I’d like and I can’t remember anything cool when I’m trying to buy gifts for other people.
If you want to add something to your gift list this year or give the perfect present to a writer in your life, these are some great ideas I’ve found!

A Mug Warmer
Those self-warming mugs are SO expensive, but my coffee never stays the right temperature when I sit down to write. I’ve used this mug warmer every day for years and frequently give it to my friends and family! Whether you work from home or enjoy a hot beverage while you write, a mug warmer makes your drink the last thing on your mind during your creative sessions.
Story Prompt Dice
Anyone who loves writing and dice games will get a kick out of these story prompt dice in minimalist colors. They’re another fun way to get some inspiration when your standard plot generators aren’t quite doing it.
It’s even an entertaining way to get conversations started when you have friends over. Roll the dice and ask everyone to contribute a sentence to your shared story. As you go around the group, you’ll invent a silly tale that always inspires laughs.

Before I could save for AirPods, I used noise-blocking earbuds like these whenever I wanted to write. They fit comfortably and don’t make your ears sore. Press play on your preferred background music or focus noises to write even more than before. The case will recharge your earbuds when you’re finished writing for the day. Plus, they’re waterproof—perfect for brainstorming in the shower.
Laptop Carrying Case
I love writing at my local library. I’ve also been able to do some of my best work in places like airport terminals and coffee shops. This case kept my Macbook safe through all of my adventures. It’s a padded case for Macs and PCs of varying sizes and colors that has a nice, snug fit.
Pro tip—I wish I’d had a case like this in college! My backpack got soaked while walking to class during countless thunderstorms. This case would have been much better protection than the plastic bag I wrapped my laptop in to shield it from water.
Insulated Rambler With Lid
If you’re starting to notice how I always need water or tea next to me, you’re not wrong! An occasional sip clears my mind when I’m lost in a story, but I hate when a cold drink gets to room temperature.
Insulated ramblers like this one always keep my drinks just as cold as when I poured them. The lid’s vacuum-sealed suction keeps exterior temperatures from leaking through.
Know anyone with a dog? These cups have also been a lifesaver with our Shepsky! His hair gets everywhere, especially with the fan on. These lids catch it all so my drinks remain free of fur. Give the dog owners in your life the same peace of mind with a gift like this one.

#holidays are coming up and it would make a terrible gift#that's the main selling point#anyways these exist and can be exchanged for legal tender#the cost is the listed price + the emotional expense of knowing that i am judging u#bc i am. i am judging u#why would u want this. why would u exchange currency for this#there are so many other things you could exchnage currency for instead#a grocery store shrimp platter for instance#with the nauseatingly red cocktail sauce that is SO much better than a t shirt any time#hmm chicken picatta at a local Italian Eatery perchance? i am. a big fan of anything picatta#oh oh i know! 3.6 POUNDS OF FRESH OKRA#FOR THE COST OF THIS FRIVOLOUS T SHIRT U COULD INSTEAD PURCHASE 3.6 POUNDS OF FRESH DELICIOUS OKRA#and then --hold on i have a recipe--and then what u do is#so it is basically sacrilege to suggest this but what u do is u skip the cornmeal entirely#my southern ancestors are shaking a wooden spoon at me right now but LISTEN. u skip. the gotdang. cornmeal#instead: wash chop and soak (for 10 min) the okra in a mixture of 1 egg to tblsp water#then coat in flour#THATS IT JUST FLOUR#No cornmeal. i am betraying my heritage rn but I'm RIGHT#coat in flour sprinkle liberally in S&P and FRY that suck in veg oil high heat#until crispy & brown & u hear your arteries clenching in apprehension#so. so yeah#that's what u should do instead of buying this shirt go fry the shit out of some okra#(but buy local and young & tender if u can bc the grocery store is full of old-and-therefore-super-stiff specimens#pro tip (aka grandma tip): if u can't chop okra smoothly with your normal cutting knife then it's too old and tough.#...i mean u probably CAN still fry the shit out of it I've certainly done that before it's just much less delicious#ANYWAY. anyway ANYWAY. shirt. okra. farmers market. that reminds me of a post i made back when we first started selling these dang shorts#shirts. shorts shorts. oh shit i should make a crop top option.#i. i don't Know How to make a crop top option#HUH . . . i need to lie down now and contemplate the constant and irreconcilable limitations of the human experience good night

Christmas is coming up, and I feel like I need to turn here for advide. My Christmas list doesn't feel long enough (half the things on the list are things I'm not 100% enthused about) and I need help thinking of ideas. I'm mostly good at thinking of books, but do you know of any good books for the Nintendo switch and/or the PS4 that are relaxing and not overly difficult? I'm looking for things that won't scare me or make me upset (considering those are two of my biggest emotions).

After hemming and hawing over it for a couple months, I finally made a Throne Gifts page for people to send me stuff through if they don't want to pledge to the Patreon or donate but still wanna support the content I make somehow. I haven't added much yet, but probably will on and off over the next couple weeks/months. This is not a replacement to the Patreon goal of getting a PO box and doing opening streams, I still wanna do that when I have the audience size to support it, I just think for now this is a good way to give the option for those who want to do so.
