Barry Allen was running like lightning. Cisco decided to test Barry's speed by making him run as fast as he could.
The leaves of the trees swayed as he passed, leaving everything in disarray along the way. Barry didn't care if he was going too fast, until a crack opened in front of him and he couldn't stop.
The speedstet was thrown to the wet grass ground. He quickly stood up and looked around, wondering if it was to the past or the future. Everything was normal.
Barry noticed that there were some buildings in places that were once houses and assumed that he was in the future. He knew he couldn't risk changing the future, but he was curious.
He was surprised to see the name “Allen” engraved on the mailbox of a large house. The house was white and had three floors. He approached, seeing that on the porch of the house there was a swing and a dog house with the name “Grant” engraved on it.
Barry questioned whether he actually read the right name on the mailbox. He didn't have much time to think before a big, fat dog ran towards him, knocking Flash to the ground. The dog caught him off guard.
The animal began to lick his face, making him laugh. Barry carefully pushed the dog away, standing up.
“Sit down!” He said to the dog and to Barry's surprise, the animal obeyed and sat down on the grass. The dog wagged its tail and seemed very happy.
Flash heard laughter coming from the door. He looked up and let out an exclamation of surprise when he saw that Y/N was standing in front of the door, arms crossed.
“I thought you wouldn't be back until tomorrow. Cisco called saying you had an accident in Star City.” Y/N said, walking towards Barry.
The man tried to find words to respond to his friend, but was petrified when he received a kiss from his childhood friend.
The woman ran her hand through Barry's brown hair and looked at him tenderly. Flash noticed that she had a beautiful ring on her fingers. She got married.
Y/N kissed Barry again, leaving him in a state of panic. The brunette never thought about kissing his friend, since he was in love with Iris.
“Let's go. Benjamin and Anastasia are alone long enough to set the house on fire.” Y/N said, pulling the speedster's hand to force him into the house.
“Benjamin and Anastasia?” He asked, frowning. Who were these people?
“Are you going to say you forgot your children's names?” Y/N asked in a playful tone. Barry opened his mouth in shock.
Flash barely had time to say anything. Two small and cute bodies collided with Allen. They were children.
Benjamin and Anastasia they are kids. Barry and Y/N's children.
Flash opened his mouth but couldn't say a word. He looked at the kids who had Y/N's hair color and Barry's green eyes.
The boy looked a lot like Barry and had a very sweet smile. The girl looked like a beautiful princess.
“Daddy!” The girl said, extending her hand for Barry to take it. The speedster wondered if he should pick the girl up, but after Anastasia pouted at him, Barry grabbed the girl and gave her a big hug.
Barry had children. He started a family.
It wasn't with Iris as he imagined, but Y/N seemed to love him so intensely that it was clear there was a lot of love.
“Daddy. Ben, my mom and I made chocolate cake.” Anastasia said. Her voice was soft and sweet. Barry almost cried when the girl laid her head on his shoulder.
“Mom let me make the frosting with the mixer.” Benjamin, who looked to be two years older than Anastasia said, smiling proudly.
“It must be delicious.” Barry said smiling at the boy. The boy hugged Allen's leg.
The two children dragged Barry into the kitchen and made the speedster eat many pieces of cake and a pitcher of juice that Benjamin prepared. It was sour, but Barry enjoyed every drop to make the boy happy.
The house was big and warm. Barry couldn't tell if it was hot because of the heater or if it was because of the family that lived there. The kitchen of the house had a large blackboard glued to the counter where it indicated what needed to be bought at the market and who would wash the dishes that day.
Barry loved everything. It seemed strange at first, but now it was an incredible future. For the first time in his life, Barry felt that everything would work out in the end.
He thought the children were normal, that they weren't speedsters. But the moment Y/N dropped a glass, Benjamin ran like lightning and didn't let the object fall to the floor.
“Are you a speedster?” Barry asked with a face full of surprise.
“Of course my love.” Y/N said, emphasizing “my love”. In the present, she always called Barry ‘Allen’ or some stupid nickname. Barry liked to be called ‘my love’. “Our babies are just like you. Even though Anastasia hates running”
“I prefer to walk.” The girl said. It was the cutest sight Barry had ever seen. The little girl had a teddy bear on her lap and used a toy spoon to give the teddy bear some imaginary food.
“You look strange, dad.” Benjamin said. The boy was focused on a portable video game and barely looked at the people at the table.
“Seriously, Barry. Are you well? “ Y/N asked her husband. She noticed that the speedster was dazed and looked strange. “Children, can you keep the cake in the fridge and then go play in your bedrooms?”
“Yes mom.” The kids said at the same time. Benjamin used his super speed to put the cake in the refrigerator and went to his bedroom. Anastasia preferred to walk like a normal human being.
Y/N took Barry to the living room. The fireplace was lit for winter and some toys were lined up in the hallway. The dog that Barry assumed was family was lying on the couch with its belly up.
“What happened, Barry?” She asked as soon as Barry sat down in the room. She noticed that her husband seemed to have never set foot in the house and was looking at everything like a curious visitor.
“Anything. It's okay, honey.” Allen tried to sound convincing.
“Barry, I wanted to tell you something.” Y/N sat on Barry's lap, leaving him perplexed. The speedster stood as still as a statue as the woman placed a long kiss on his lips. “Do you like having two children?”
“Obviously. Ben and Ana are amazing kids.” Barry said, trying to sound like the father they know.
“Then I think you'll love having three children even more!” Y/N said, with watery eyes. She took a box out of her pocket and Barry recognized it as a pregnancy test box. “I found out two days ago, but I was going to wait for you to get back from Star City.”
“Are you pregnant?” Barry asked.
“Yes. Caitlin thinks I have five weeks. It's still the size of a bean, but I already love it so much.” Y/N said, rubbing her belly.
Y/N was surprised to receive a hug from her husband. Barry was shaking and seemed surprised, something strange since he already has two children.
Allen had tears in his eyes and Y/N returned the hug, laying her head on his shoulder.
“Thank you, Y/N.” Barry thanked him. “Thank you for being my family and for giving me three incredible children. You are perfect.”
“You gave it to me, Barry. You played an important role in creating them.” She said laughing. Flash was thinking about how weird it would be to have sex with his best friend. Barry had known Y/N since elementary school and had never thought of her in a romantic way.
Now, Barry envied future Barry, who had perfect children and a beautiful woman who loved him. The Flash hoped this was his future.
“How did we start dating?” The man asked, trying not to sound rude and irritate the woman.
“You were almost killed by a villain and I realized I loved you. But Iris also realized that she loved you. It took a long time for you to decide that you loved me and ask me to be your girlfriend.“ She explained laughing. “You're always quick, but you read a lot into some things.”
“Funny.” He said, squeezing Y/N's waist. Barry's cell phone rang and the woman got up from his lap, letting Flash pick up the phone and answer it.
“Dude, where are you? You were running and suddenly disappeared.” He heard Cisco say. Flash's friend was nervous.
“I'm coming, Cisco.” Barry said, then hung up without letting Cisco answer. “Y/N, I have to go. Cisco needs my help.”
“Sure honey.” Y/N said, giving her husband another kiss. “Come back early for dinner. Ben's notes arrived today and he wants you to see them at dinner time.”
“OK.” Barry looked closely at the woman and the house before heading to the door. This was a perfect future. “See you later, Y/N.”
“Save the world, Flash.” Y/N said, while stroking her own belly. Barry took one last look at Y/N before running to go back to the past.
Tears streamed down Barry's face as he ran. Barry always wanted to have a family and in the future he did, with a pet dog and warm hugs.
As soon as Barry returned to the present, he went straight to Star Labs. He knew that back then you were helping Caitlin take care of the imprisoned metahumans .
“Hey man, where were you?” Cisco asked as soon as Barry stopped in the middle of Star labs.
“I fainted during the race.” Flash lied, knowing he couldn't tell anyone about the future. “Where is Y/N?”
“She's giving lunch to the imprisoned metahumans. She always does this.”
Barry didn't respond to his friend. He ran straight towards Y/N.
She had a tray in her hand and was walking towards a prisoner's cell.
“Hello, Y/N.” Flash greeted the girl. She just looked at him and smiled, walking again. “I was thinking. We've been friends for a long time and we've never gone out to dinner just the two of us.”
“Why should you go out with Iris, your great unrequited love.” Y/N replied, making Barry grimace.
“Do you want to go out with me on Friday for dinner?” Barry invited his friend. She smiled, stopping walking and looking at the brunette.
“Since you insist so much, I agree to go out with you, Allen.” Y/N said, running her hand through Barry's hair. He smiled, thinking that it wouldn't be so bad to marry you in the future.

You convince Barry to give you another blowjob for a grilled cheese.
"It's simple, Barr. You give me another blowjob and I'll make you another grilled cheese sandwich." Y/N said as if were the most obvious thing in the world.
Barry looks at him shocked. "You're pulling my leg, right?"
"I'm completely serious. One suck for a sandwich. And I know you're hungry. I can hear your stomach growling."
It was true that Barry was hungry, and he needed something to eat. But it was going to take more than one sandwich to fill his speedster belly. "Fine, but I want a hundred grilled cheese sandwiches."
"Deal." Y/N spread his legs on the couch and waited for Barry to kneel down and get in between as he unbuckled Y/N's pants and pulled his underwear down as he pumped his erection, lightning running through his hands to get Y/N rock hard before he kissed the tip of the head and opened his mouth wide, taking him into his mouth and sucked him off.

One Day At A Time - Nightwing x Reader
Tumblr media
Part Two
Author’s Note - Glad I finally got this one started. It was in my head for a long time. More parts are coming.
Voices were the first thing you recalled. They were different tones, some feminine, others masculine. Screams echoed from somewhere far away. Beeps sounded near your head.
You couldn’t open your eyes. Your eyelids had been replaced by stones. “Is she going to wake up soon?” one of the voices demanded. You recognized it as you heard it often.
“She can wake up at anytime.” This voice was recognizable as well. It gave orders a lot. “We will just have to wait.” Footsteps echoed and a door closed. You wondered if they were talking about you. Were you asleep? It was hard to tell.
There was scraping of a chair. Suddenly, someone grabbed your hand. They cradled it in theirs. Lips pressed to the back of your hand. “I miss you, sweetheart,” the voice you heard most often spoke. Sweetheart? You felt confused. No one had called you that before. “Please wake up soon.” Something wet dripped onto your hand.
Disgusting. You couldn’t pull your hand away. It was like your blood had been replaced with sand, holding you down. You endured it. The voice rambled on and on about things. You stopped listening and let yourself drift back into bliss of darkness.
***
Slowly, rising from the darkness and into the fresh air, you finally dragged your eyes opened. The light was bright. You closed them again, reaching up to rub them.
Your eyes adjusted to reveal a white hospital room with flowers everywhere. The ones next to your bedside were your favorite. Those were the same ones your brother would get for your birthday every year. A smile pulled at your lips. You glanced down at yourself, the paper hospital gown scratching your skin. There were heart monitors stuck to your chest and stomach. Odd.
An IV was in your arm. You pulled at it gently, shivering from the idea of it in your arm. Biting your lip, you tried to remember how you got here. The last thing you remembered was being at gymnastic practice. It was after hours and you were breaking the rules by attempting Olga Korbut’s uneven bars routine from the 1972 Olympics. Most of those moves were illegal now days, but you wanted to try just for fun.
The last thing you remembered was preparing for your dismount from the high bar when your brother, Wally West, and your coach walking in. They startled you and you fell hard. You frowned. Was that what happened? Did you end up in the hospital?
You pulled the covers around you. Where were those voices you heard before? The man’s voice. The one who held your hand. You wondered who he was? Rubbing your hands up and down your arms, you froze when you felt metal on one of your fingers. You glanced down to find a beautiful ring.
It was a contoured design, two rings fitted into one. You remembered Aunt Iris had one like that. Her engagement ring and wedding ring were made into one. Why would you have a ring like that? You were only nineteen and you don’t remember anyone giving a ring like this to you.
The door to your room opened. You looked up eagerly, hoping to see your family. However, there was only a strange man. He stared at you, eyes wide with a cup of coffee in his hand. His hair was dark, shaggy and falling into his bright blue eyes. You had to admit he was attractive and fit, even if it looked like he hadn’t slept in a week.
The coffee cup dropped from his hand and splashed on the floor. You jumped only to find the man suddenly hugging you and pressing his lips against yours. Your mind shut off. You didn’t move, unsure what to do. Should you scream? Were you being attacked?
“Oh thank god, you’re awake. I thought you would never wake up.” The man sobbed, breaking the kiss to bury his face into your shoulder. His voice triggered your memory. He was the one who held your hand.
You didn’t know what to do. Your brain was on autopilot as you patted his back. Maybe he was mentally disturbed and thought you were someone else? You noticed the call button by the bedside and tried to reach for it.
“Woah, hey.” The man pulled away, grinning despite the tears in his eyes. “You feel okay? Anything hurt? Should I get the doctor?”
You opened your mouth to speak only for it to be dry. Wetting your mouth, you cleared your throat. “I’m fine.” You looked him in the eye for a second before quickly looking at the flowers across the room. Your eye caught a bag sitting on the chair in the corner.
“I think my heart finally restarted. It stopped when you took that fall.” The man laughed. You looked back at him to find him studying you like you were the most precious thing on earth. It sent a warning shiver down your spine.
You quickly looked away, eyeing the coffee spill on the floor. “Is Wally here?”
You bit your lip nervously when the man’s smile faltered slightly. “He...doesn’t know you’re here.” The man took your hand, rubbing warmth into it.
“What?!” You blinked, heart skipping a beat. Oh god, did this man kidnap you? Were you even in a hospital or did it just look like one? Where was Wally? Where was your family?
The man played with the ring on your finger. He frowned slightly with concern in his eyes. “Sweetheart, you know he doesn’t approve of us. He won’t answer my calls, even when you got hurt, but we don’t need to worry about him. We got each other and our family. That’s what matters, right?” He ran his other hand through your hair.
Your blood ran ice cold. You had to escape. Clearly, this man kidnapped you and was mentally insane. Why did he act like you were in a relationship with him? Thoughts about all those old stalker movies filled your mind.
“Hey, you okay?” The man cupped your cheek. “Calm down. You’re fine. Everything’s okay.”
You forced a smile on your face to try to reassure him. Get him out of the room. You could escape then. “I just have a headache.” You rubbed your temple. Your chest tightened when his hand moved to rest over yours.
“Let me grab the doctor.” He leaned down to kiss you again. You turned your head, disgusted. His lips caught your cheek instead of your lips. The man frowned, but got up. “I’ll be right back, okay?” He left the room and firmly shut the door behind him.
Once he was gone, you got to your feet. Sharp pain shot through them, but you just gasped and stayed standing. You removed the IV and the heart monitors carefully before going to the bag in the corner. There were clothes inside. You ripped off the paper gown and changed into the sweatpants and sweatshirt inside. The clothes were too big, but you tightened the pants to fit you. There were no shoes, so you made do with a pair of socks.
Panic set in when you heard noise outside the door. You rushed to the window in the room. Outside was a city you didn’t recognize it. Scared beyond belief, you opened the window. The rays of the late morning sun hit your skin. Your room was two stories up, but you noticed a gutter drain nearby.
With somewhat ease, you climbed out and down the gutter drain. Once you were a few feet from the ground, you dropped. Almost landing on your feet, you toppled to your knees. Your center of gravity was off. Did you gain weight while you were kidnapped? You shook your head, getting to your feet.
“(Y/N)!” The man shouted. You spun to see him leaning out of the window with another dark haired man with him.
“No.” Adrenaline fueled you and you sprinted off. You were fast, but you were no speedster. Traffic was heavy in the street, but you ran out without a care, jumping over the hood of a car that slammed on their brakes to avoid you.
You glanced back to see the man already on the ground. Panting, you ran faster down the street, dodging people as you went. You had to break the line of sight. A child ran out in front of you. You jumped, using a light post as leverage to send yourself flying into an alleyway.
“(Y/N)!” The man was gaining on you as you fell hard on your knees again. The wind knocked out of you. Rage filled you. Why was your center of balance off? You could have landed that in your sleep. However, you got to your feet and kept running.
Turning several corners, you saw a coffee shop filled with people. You burst through the door, the bell ringing loudly. People stared at you like you were insane. Maybe you did look it, but you had a good reason. “Can I borrow a phone?” you panted, searching the room for a friendly soul.
“Here, honey,” a middle aged woman said, handing you a phone.
“Thank you.” You glanced behind you in a panic and ducked into the hallway that led to the bathrooms. The phone shook in your hand. Every part of your body ached, completely weakened by the run as adrenaline drained into all out terror.
Air was being squeezed out of your lungs, coming out in ragged gasps. Black swarmed your vision, but you blinked it away. The bell on the door to the shop rang. You slipped into the ladies' room and slid to the floor by the sink.
Knees pressed to your chest, you dialed the one number you knew by heart. “Please pick up, please pick up.” The man’s voice sounded outside, asking about you.
“Hello?” You sighed in relief, knowing his voice instantly.
“Wally?” Your voice cracked. Tears filled your eyes. “Please help me. Walls, please help me.”
“(Y/N)?” Wally seemed shocked. “What’s wrong?” His voice deepened into that tone he used when he was Kid Flash.
You crawled into one of the stalls when you heard someone tell the man that you went to the restroom. Reaching up to lock the stall, you got up to stand on the toilet to hide. You had to lean against the wall to stay upright. “There’s a man chasing me. He kidnapped me, but I escaped.” You held your breath when the bathroom door opened. “He’s here. Please help me.” Your voice dropped to a whisper.
“(Y/N), sweetheart, I don’t know what’s going on, but you need to come with me,” the man said loudly. He opened one of the stalls. You pressed your hand against your mouth to prevent a scream.
“I’ll be there in a flash. Where are you?” Wally’s voice sounded distant. He was already on the move.
The next stall opened. You whimpered softly into the phone. The bathroom fell silent until the door to your stall shook. You choked out a sob, losing your balance. Your foot went into the toilet, but you caught yourself. However, the phone slipped out of your hand and clattered to the floor.
The man kneeled in front of the door. “(Y/N), sweetheart, please tell me what’s going on. You’re scaring me.”
“Please leave me alone. I just want to go home,” you begged, ignoring your wet sock as you climbed higher on the toilet in case the man crawled under.
“We can go home, but I need you to calm down.” The man peeked under the door. You screamed, fresh tears bursting out of you. Suddenly, a loud gust sounded in the room and the man disappeared from the door. “Wally? What are you doing here?”
“What are you doing?! (Y/N) called me saying she’s been kidnapped and a man is chasing her,” your brother’s voice said. You relaxed slightly, suddenly concerned that Wally seemed to know the man. “And now I searched the city only to find you chasing her!”
The man gasped. “She said what?!”
The door of your stall shook again. “(Y/N), come out. I think you’re confused,” Wally said. You slowly climbed down from the toilet and opened the door. Wally stood there in a Flash suit. Strange, wasn’t he Kid Flash? You ignored it and hopped into his arms.
Wally held you tight. “Please get me out of here, Walls. Keep him away from me.” You clung to Wally like he was your lifeline.
“What the hell is going on?!” The man stepped forward. You broke out of Wally’s arms to hide behind him, watching the man as he stared at you with his brow furrowed. “(Y/N), sweetheart, I’m Dick. Your husband.” He pointed to his chest.
“I can’t be married!” You gripped Wally’s arms with a death grip.
Wally’s head snapped between you and the man. “Wait a minute.” He pressed a hand to the man’s, now Dick’s, chest to stop him from coming closer. Wally spun to you and gripped your shoulders. His green eyes bore into yours. “(Y/N), what year is it?”
You frowned, blinking. Your lips trembled. Wally never talked to you like this before. “2020.”
Dick’s jaw dropped. His hand slapped against his forehead. Wally stared at you with fear in his eyes. “(Y/N), honey, it’s 2023. You’re not nineteen, you’re twenty two,” Wally said calmly. He swallowed hard and nodded to Dick. “This is Dick Grayson. You married him a year ago. Without my permission, I might add.”
Your eyes snapped to Dick’s. “No...” Your knees collapsed. Wally caught you before you hit the floor. Dick’s hands clenched into fists, keeping his distance from you. Black swarmed your vision again. You blinked it away as Wally cradled you in his arms.
“This is too public.” The other dark haired man you saw in the window with Dick entered, glancing around nervously. “Get her out of here.” Wally picked you up and zoomed off. Sometime along the way, you fainted.
***
You woke on a soft bed with an older man hovering nearby. He smiled when he saw you open your eyes. The lights were dim in whatever room you were in. In the distance, you swore you heard bats screeching.
“Hello, Miss (Y/N).” He patted your arm. “Do you remember me?”
You studied him, but shook your head. He wasn’t a threat, because you didn’t even tense when you saw him.
The man smiled gently. “I am Alfred.” He held up his hands. “Is it alright if I examine your head?”
You nodded. A lump was in your throat, memories floating back to you. Alfred carefully ran his hands over your head, feeling for any bumps. You winced when he touch a spot toward the back of your head. “It hurts there.”
Alfred hummed. “I see.” He pulled away. “I am going to alert the others that you are awake.” You tensed, scared to find out what else you didn’t remember. Three years. You were missing three years. “Don’t worry, Miss (Y/N). It will be a calm discussion. We only want to figure out what is going on.” He patted your knee and left the area.
You pulled the sheet up and around you. Your fingers rested on the edge of the sheet, the ring on your wedding finger sparkling beautifully. How could you forget something so important? You must have loved Dick, right? You snorted. What a name. You hoped it was short for Richard.
Wally came in first. He smiled in relief, coming to your side. “Hey, glad you’re awake, sis. You gave me a heart attack when you fainted on me.” He sat on the edge of your bed.
Dick followed him. He started toward you, but stopped and moved to lean against the far wall. The other dark haired man from before entered and took a seat on the chair at the end of the bed.
“Here we go, Miss (Y/N). You should at least drink something,” Alfred said, appearing with a cup of steaming tea. You took it from him, giving him a timid smile in thanks. “I’ll bring a meal in a bit. Remember we are going to proceed calmly.” Alfred glared at the three men in the room. You liked him already.
“Let’s start from the beginning. What the last thing you remember, (Y/N)?” The dark haired man asked, leaning forward and studying you with an intense gaze, your hands began to shake with nerves. Alfred smacked his arm as he passed and the man’s gaze softened.
You took a sip of tea, gathering your thoughts. Sneaking a peek at Dick, you saw the pain in his eyes. “I remember being at gymnastic practice at Central City U. Everyone had left and I stayed to see if I could do Olga Korbut’s uneven bars routine from the 1972 Olympics. Oh my god, Walls, you remember how much I loved her routine. She was moving like an angel.” You grinned, feeling relaxed for the first time since you woke up to find everything strange and unfamiliar. A small smile pulled at Dick’s lips. You wondered if he liked gymnastics too.
“And you fell after I and your coach caught you in the middle of a high bar dismount.” Wally sighed, crossing his arms. “You hit your head, but you were fine afterwards.”
“I don’t remember that.” You bit your lip, holding the cup of tea tightly. “I just remember falling and then I woke up in the hospital with...Dick.” You met Dick’s eye. His smile fell into a firm line.
The dark haired man hummed. “You remember nothing else?”
You leaned into Wally. He wrapped his arm around you. “Just stuff before. Like growing up at home then living with Aunt Iris and Uncle Barry in Central City when Mom and Dad were having problems. Graduating high school, going to college on a gymnastic scholarship.” You looked at Wally. “Did I finish college? Please tell me I did.”
Wally chuckled. “You did. With top honors.” He kissed your temple. “Of course, then you ran off with Dick afterwards.” Wally glared over at Dick. Dick snorted. You glanced between the men, confused.
“Was I not supposed to?” You bit your lip when Dick burst out laughing suddenly. Wally narrowed his eyes at you.
“No, you weren’t. He’s older than you and was one of my best friends.” Wally pulled away from you, crossing his arms. “I made a mistake and invited him to my engagement party after working so hard to keep you away from this life, then all of a sudden, you married him.”
You looked at Dick, knowing you must have loved him quite a bit to piss Wally off so bad. “Enough.” The dark haired man got to his feet. “We need to focus on what’s important.”
“Bruce, we are focusing on what’s important,” Dick said after he stopped laughing. “(Y/N) might remember if we remind her.” He smiled at you with a charm that made your skin tingle. Maybe there was something there?
The dark haired man, now Bruce, shook his head. “No, there is something going on here. Don’t you think it’s strange that (Y/N) happened to forget about you? Three years is specific.” Bruce pointed a finger at Dick’s chest. “It’s very specific that the last thing she remembers happened the day before you met her at West’s engagement party.”
Dick sobered. “Are you suggesting someone erased me from (Y/N)’s memory? Who could even do that?”
Wally took the cup of tea from you when your hands started shaking so hard that it threatened to slosh out. “It’s okay,” Wally soothed, rubbing your back. “You’re fine, we’ll figure this out, okay?”
“Don’t you think it’s odd that a day after you two announced your pregnancy that (Y/N) takes a fall during patrol and forgets about you?” Bruce said, waving his hand in the air. “We need to open an investigation.”
Your blood drained out of your face. Pregnancy? You looked down at your stomach with wide eyes. Heart monitors on your stomach, the loss of your center of balance? Wally was staring at your stomach too. His face white as a sheet.
“Shit, Bruce. Just let the cat out of the bag, huh?” Dick rushed to your side. He hesitated before taking your hand. “(Y/N), sweetheart. Don’t freak out. You’re fine, the baby’s fine.”
“Baby?” You looked at him, chest tightening. Breathing became a struggle. Every muscle in your body tensed, trembling. “No, no, no, no. I can’t...I don’t remember anything.” Your cheeks felt wet, tears escaping.
Suddenly, you were in Dick’s arms with your head pressed against his chest. “Breathe with me, sweetheart. One breath at a time.” His calm heartbeat loud in your ear. You fought to slow down, trying to breathe in rhythm with him. Wally disappeared from your side. Your hand clutched at Dick’s shirt. He tightened his arms around you. “There you go. You’re doing such a good job, sweetheart. Nothing to freak out about. We’re taking care of it.”
You buried your face into his chest, breathing in his scent. He smelled of sweat, cologne, and laundry detergent. Your abdomen tingled as if your body remember that scent. You found you liked it.
“I’m heading out. Call me if there is an emergency,” Wally said. You looked up at him, eyes widening. Wally wouldn’t look at you and Dick, arms crossed. “I’ll let Mom know you’re okay.” With that, he zoomed off.
“But...” You blinked, your heart felt like it was ripped from your chest. “Why?” You looked at Dick. Dick smiled sadly at you.
He kissed your temple. “I’ll explain later.” Dick kept his arms around you as you sobbed. You buried your face into his chest, feeling so cold and alone. Your head ached as you tried to remember. How could you not remember getting pregnant or getting married? Why did Wally abandon you with these strangers that weren’t strangers, but were? Dick’s chin rested on the top of your head, not saying a word.

Dick stumbled out of medbay, exhausted and heartbroken. The bats screeched in the distance. The cool air in the cave made him shiver. You had cried yourself to sleep. Dick wished he could have comforted you, but he didn’t know how. What do you do when your wife doesn’t remember even meeting you?
Bruce was at the computer, working away on the theory he had throw out in front of you. Dick’s hand clenched into a fist. It was bad enough you were recovering from the news that you forgotten three years of your life and your husband, but to find out you’re pregnant and that someone may have erased your memory. No wonder you broke down.
Dick turned away from Bruce and headed up the stairs to the manor, needing distance. The absolute terror in your face when you looked at him in that coffee shop bathroom haunted him. He never wanted to see that expression on your face again.
Delicious smells came from the kitchen, drawing Dick toward it. His stomach growled. The last time he ate was that sandwich Alfred had brought him in the hospital. Dick ran his fingers through his hair. Was that a day ago? Time went by so fast after you woke up.
“Hey, Dick,” Tim said as Dick entered the kitchen. Alfred was over the stove, stirring a pot of what looked to be his special chicken noodle soup. Tim sat at the counter with a sandwich and a bowl of soup.
“Hi, Timmy.” Dick collapsed into the stool next to Tim and took half of the sandwich from his plate.
Tim watched him worriedly. “So how’s (Y/N)?”
Dick took a big bite of the sandwich. “Not great.” He mumbled with food in his mouth. Alfred turned to glare at Dick before going back to the stove. A jolt ran through Dick. Dick waited until he swallowed to continue. “She just cried herself to sleep in my arms. Bruce let slip that she’s pregnant, then Wally got all mad again and ran off.” Alfred poured another bowl of soup and set it in front of Dick. “I’m worried what the stress is doing to her and the baby.”
“This is why I suggested a calm discussion.” Alfred set a spoon next to Dick’s bowl. “Is she asleep?”
“Yeah.” Dick finished his sandwich and started on the soup. His eyes caught the ring on his finger. The one you had specially made for him. His heart broke once again.
“Well, I’ll prepare a tray and take it down. She needs to eat.” Alfred moved to grab a serving tray.
Tim eyed Dick and Alfred. “So it’s true then?”
“What’s true?” Dick glanced at Tim, frowning at how pale he was.
“(Y/N) doesn’t remember you or us or...anything?” Tim swallowed hard. The food in front of him forgotten.
Dick took another spoonful of soup, pushing away the urge to cry. “No, she doesn’t.” He froze, noting the shifting shadow by the kitchen door. “Damian, come on out.”
“TT.” Damian stepped out and came over to sit beside Dick. Alfred raised an eyebrow and quickly served Damian a bowl of soup too. “Can I see her?”
“Let’s give Miss (Y/N) space for now.” Alfred picked up the serving tray. “I’ll bring this down to her.” He left the room.
The three ate in silence. Dick slipped into his own thoughts, your face flashing before his eyes again. He dropped his spoon and buried his face in his hands. “It’s probably not permanent,” Tim said, biting his lip.
“Or it is.” Dick groaned, dropping his hands. “Do you know how it felt to see her so scared? She climbed out the hospital window and ran out into the street. Then she called Wally. Wally! They haven’t spoken in a year.”
Tim laid a hand on Dick’s shoulder. “I’m sorry.”
Dick glanced at Tim. “Why are you sorry? You didn’t do anything, Tim.”
“No, but I’m sorry just the same.” Tim pulled away to play with his spoon.
“TT.” Damian jumped off his stool and took his bowl to the sink.
Dick watched him. “Damian, you okay?” It helped to focus on something else. He’d rather comfort his brother than deal with his own emotions at the moment.
Damian spun and glared at him. “You are weak.” Dick and Tim flinched. Damian shook his head. “You are just giving up. If (Y/N) doesn’t remember you, then make her remember you.”
“It’s not that simple, Dami.” Dick got to his feet and came to kneel in front of Damian. “This isn’t something you can just fix.” He rested his hands on Damian’s shoulders.
“TT, then you take it one day at a time until (Y/N) remembers everything you had, everything we all had.” Damian jerked out of Dick’s grip and walked away. “Fool.”
Dick stayed on his knees. His body froze, shocked to his core. “So you’re saying I get (Y/N) to fall in love with me again?” He turned to look at Tim, who was nodding. “That’s not going to work. I don’t know how we did, it just happened.”
“You mean you don’t have any idea how you fell in love with (Y/N)? Come on, that’s not true.” Tim chuckled, getting to his feet and started to clean up the dishes. “You told me how you saw her from across the room and basically drew to her like a starving man to bread.”
“I didn’t say that.” Dick got to his feet and started to wash the dishes. Tim grabbed a towel to dry.
“Yeah, you did. It might have been after your wedding night and you were half asleep, but you did.” Tim smirked. “(Y/N) said you drank too much, but then Jason made that crude comment and you whaled on him.”
“Okay, I remember that. (Y/N) made me sleep on the couch until our honeymoon.” Dick felt a smile pulled at his lips. It felt wrong. Why should he be smiling when he lost the love of his life?
Tim laughed. “I didn’t know that part.” He dried a bowl and put it away. “I think if you help (Y/N) relive those moments, it might spark her memory.” Tim shrugged. “Unless Bruce’s theory is right.”
Dick choked, dropping a dish into the sink. “I pray he’s not. Who would do such a thing?” He grabbed another dish towel to dry his hands, shaking.
“Don’t think about that now.” Tim grabbed Dick’s arm. “Calm down.”
“How can I be calm, Tim?! My wife doesn’t remember me at all!” Dick threw his hands up in the air.
“Quiet.” Dick turned to see Cass staring at him, silently appearing like she always did. He should have heard her. Suddenly, her hand shot out and Dick fell limp to the ground.
“Cheap trick.” Dick mumbled, his cheek rested on the floor. HIs body paralyzed from the nerve strike.
Tim knelt down next to Dick’s head. Dick felt Tim’s thin fingers checking his pulse. “Little much, Cass, don’t ya think?”
“He needed rest. No sleep for days. Sloppy.” Cass grabbed Dick’s arm and pulled him up. Tim grabbed Dick’s other arm and they drag him out of the kitchen.
Dick closed his eyes, letting the darkness of sleep take him. The last thing he remember was being flopped down onto a couch.
***
You leaned against headrest, keeping your eyes on the city outside. “So we live in Gotham?” The car was clean and smelled like mint from the bat shaped car refresher.
“Well, no.” Dick cleared his throat, keeping one hand on the wheel while rubbing the yellowing bruise on his neck. You asked him about it, he just said it was what he needed. Whatever that meant. “We live in one of the suburbs between Gotham and Bludhaven.” He glanced over at you somewhat nervously. “Bruce bought us a house for our wedding gift. Decked it out with everything, even added a secret tunnel that would take us straight into Gotham or Bludhaven in minutes.”
“And Bruce is your adoptive father and Batman.” You frowned, playing with the sleeves of the sweatshirt you were wearing. Apparently, it was yours, but you don’t remember seeing it before. You sighed. It was a common occurrence nowadays. “Damian, Tim, Cass, and Jason are your siblings. Tim, Cass, and Jason are adopted while Damian is Bruce’s biological son.”
Dick nodded. A smile pulled at his lips. “Yeah, that’s right.” He glanced over at you. You met his eye. It sent a pleasant shiver down your spine. Over the last few days, you noticed you were feeling those shivers more and more. You played with your wedding ring, unable to take it off. It felt wrong to remove it.
“You’re Nightwing and I’m...” It was on the tip of your tongue.
“Redwing. Red from the Flash and wing from me,” Dick said after several seconds of silence. “You didn’t go out too often. Mostly to help me out if I needed backup.”
“And we both run a trapeze and gymnastics school?” You folded your arms across your chest. Your heart glowed with joy at having your dream job of teaching gymnastics.
Dick nodded. “And dance and boxing.” He looked back at the road. “We added those recently, wanting to reach out to more kids.”
Your eyes fell to the ring on his finger. “Did I give you that ring?”
“You did.” Dick’s hand left the wheel and was held out in front of you. You took it, feeling the calluses that were very similar to yours. The ring was a dark gray metal with no scratches or marks. “You had Superman make it out of some kind of Kryptonian metal, so it doesn’t wear or tear.”
Tracing the ring, you frowned. You tried to remember, pushing your brain until a headache blossomed in your temple. “I’m sorry.” You let go of his hand and turned away to look out the window.
“You don’t have to be sorry.” Dick rested his hand on your knee. You tensed. Dick flinched his hand away. “Sorry.” He bit his lip. “It’s okay, sweetheart. We’re figuring this out. One day at a time.”
Tears filled your eyes. He had been saying that a lot over the last few days. One day at a time. Like that was supposed to help you get three years back. “Are Iris and Barry really gone?”
“Yes, I don’t understand it all myself.” He looked at you as if you were going to break into pieces. “Apparently, they got sent to the future. Wally’s the Flash now.”
“Wally married Linda and had two kids who I’ve haven’t seen in a year because Wally hates that we’re together.” You took a deep breath. “Mom remarried after Dad disappeared and now lives in Europe. She agrees with Wally. Not surprising. She always liked him more.”
“That’s not true.” Dick drove down a street of very nice houses. Suddenly, he turned into a driveway of a beautiful huge white house. It was surrounded by trees, offering privacy from the neighbors. “Here we are.”
Your jaw dropped. “This is the house?” You quickly got out of the car to get a better look at it. Dick followed you.
“You like it?” He came to your side.
“Yeah, I just didn’t expect something so...large.” You walked ahead to the front door and took out a key from under the mat. It didn’t occur to you until the key was in your hand that your body must have remembered the motion. You looked back at Dick to find him staring at you with hopeful eyes. A lump formed in your throat.
“Go on in, sweetheart. I’ll get the car in the garage.” Dick climbed back into the car and opened the garage door. You pushed open the door and walked into the quiet, dark house. A motion sensor light clicked on along with a soft alarm. Your heart stopped.
Dick suddenly ran in behind you. “Sorry, forgot about that.” He typed in a code into the box in the corner by the door. A sensor popped out and Dick widened his eyes for it to scan his retinas. “There you go.” He turned back to you and started to lean forward, but stopped when you backed away. His face fell. “Don’t worry. It’s just our security system.” With that, he went back out the door to the car.
You watched him go. Blood rushed to your face when you realized you were looking at his butt. You covered your eyes, telling yourself that he was your husband and you probably could look at his butt. However, the embarrassment didn’t go away. It was a very nice ass though.
Slowly, you wandered through a beautifully decorated living room and dining room, stopping to study the pictures on the walls. There were a few of you as a child, along with you assumed were Dick’s childhood photos. You stopped at a picture of you and Wally as kids. Both of you were in swim suits with the blow up pool behind you. Wally’s arms were around you, both of you grinning as your mom snapped the picture.
Tears filled your eyes again, but you pushed them away. You had enough of crying for one day.
You explored the rest of the ground floor, finding the kitchen, pantry, office and a bathroom. It was so beautiful that you felt out of place. This was something you always dreamed about. Your own home, a place where you always belonged. You went upstairs. Another bathroom and three bedrooms. Two were empty, one made up into a guest bedroom. At the end of the hall, there were double doors. You swallowed hard and opened them.
The master bedroom was decorated by you. That you recognized right away. It very close to the bedrooms you designed as a teen when you couldn’t sleep after gymnastic practice. You would cut out photos from home magazines and print out pictures from the internet to paste together a mock room design for your dream home.
The bed looked so comfortable, you went over and laid down on it. It was as soft as you liked it. The comforter and sheets smooth on your skin. You stared up at the ceiling. Your dreams really came true, didn’t they? Maybe this was some form of karma. You got what you always wanted, but now you can’t remember the pieces that made it all happen.
“Hey, you found our room,” Dick said, coming in with the bags. You recognized one of the bags as the one you stole clothes from at the hospital. He set the bags on the armchair in the corner. “You picked everything out in here, I was just along for the ride.”
“So we’re both sleeping here?” You asked, stomach twisting with nerves. Dear god, it felt like you were about to have your wedding night with this man.
Dick paused, smile faltering. “No, I’ll be in the guest room.” He ran a hand through his hair. “I don’t want to rush things for you. It wouldn’t be healthy for you or the baby.”
Your hand went to your stomach. There was a slight bump, which you only noticed after you found out you were pregnant. Dick’s eyes watched your hand. “Right, sure.” You got up from the bed and wandered toward the door in the corner. It led to a master bathroom with a walk in shower and giant tub in the corner. “Bruce really went all out, huh?”
“Yeah, he did.” Dick followed you, leaning against the doorframe as you peeked into the shower. “You told him about the house you dreamed about as a child and he made it for you and me.”
“I told him about it? But I never told anyone about it. Not even Wally.” You spun to look at Dick. That pleasant shiver went up your spine as he smiled at you. His eyes sparkling with what seemed to be love.
“You told me on the night we met. It was after Wally and Linda’s engagement party. Everyone was passed out drunk or left. You and I stayed to clean while Wally took care of Linda. We got to talking and I offered to take you out for breakfast at three am.” Dick sighed. “We talked until seven am, telling each other everything.”
You blinked. “Everything?” Your eye caught the photo on the wall. It was of you and Dick standing in front of the Golden Gate bridge. The two of you gazed into each other’s eyes, foreheads pressed together. “Like this? Is this our honeymoon?”
“No, that was a trip we took the summer after we met.” Dick came to your side. He kept a safe distance between you and him. “We were keeping our relationship a secret. Linda and Wally’s wedding was a month later and we didn’t want to cause trouble.”
You hummed, noting how happy you were in the photo. “I wish I remembered.” Dick hesitated before gently reaching over to rub your shoulder. You forced yourself not to tense. His touch felt nice, warm.
“You will, but for now, I’ll remind you.” Dick smiled. His pain was almost hidden, but you could see it in his eyes. He took your hand. The contact alone made you want to cry. Dick tugged you. “Come on, let me show you the basement.”
“That’s not creepy at all.” You laughed halfheartedly, letting Dick lead you down the stairs to a part of a wall with a framed poster of the Flying Graysons on it. “Is it hidden for a reason?”
Dick winked at you. A jolt ran through your abdomen. “Remember that tunnel I told you about? Well, we don’t want that out in the open.” He touched the side of a frame and a fingerprint scanner popped out. “Always use your thumb.” He pressed his thumb and it dinged. The wall swung open revealing a staircase. “It scans you as you walk. If it doesn’t recognize you, the alarms go off and you’ll get sealed in the stairwell.”
“So this is like the safe room then?” You went in first, scared but comforted by the fact Dick was right behind you.
“Yeah, this would be the place to go if we have a situation like that. Of course, they’d have to try to get into the house first. I’ll show you how to lock down the house too.” Dick slipped around you once you reached the bottom of the stairs and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. The weight of his arm felt right.  “What do you think?”
It was a huge underground base with big computer on one side. Costume displays were build into the wall. Three motorcycles and one military looking car sat at the far end. You pulled away from Dick to look at the workout area. There was a lot of equipment, but the only thing you focused on was the uneven bars.
You broke into a run toward the uneven bars and glide kipped onto the lower bar before doing a flip to the high bar. “Careful,” Dick chuckled, leaning against one of the punching bags nearby. “Your balance is off because of the baby.”
“Right.” You did a few backward giants before slipping into a few piked Stalders. A laugh escaped you. You couldn’t even begin to describe the joy you had. Your body ached for this.
You did a tucked Jaeger release before flipping down the lower bar. It felt unsteady, but you quickly adjusted to your change in weight. You did a toe-on release back to the high bar. Gaining momentum with a few more backward giants, you did a layout Jaeger release. Your grip slipped slightly, but you held on with one hand.
A scream slipped out when you tried to gain control. Suddenly, arms wrapped around your waist and you were pulled down from the bar. “It’s okay, I got you.” Dick pressed you against his chest until your feet were on the floor.
“I should have chalked first.” You bit your lip, face burning. Dick’s arms stayed around you. The walls felt like they were closing in. Reality sunk your stomach to the floor. Who were you if you couldn’t remember?
“You were amazing.” Dick started to lean forward, but froze when you pulled away from him. You avoided his gaze.
“Right.” Hot tears filled your eyes, out of your control. “I’m tired. I’ll go lay down for a while.” You walked away briskly, head down.
Dick sighed loudly behind you. “Okay, I’ll wake you for dinner.” You glanced back at him to give him a quick nod before disappearing up the stairs.
***
“I don’t know what to do. She doesn’t get up from bed and only eats what I bring her.” Dick stood up from the kitchen table and poured himself another cup of coffee. “I thought coming home would help spark her memory or at the very least cheer her up, but she’s depressed.”
Alfred hummed and sipped his tea. He settled back in his seat at the table in your kitchen. You were upstairs, still in bed despite it being two in the afternoon. “Well, that is not healthy.”
“No, it’s not. I’m scared for her and the baby.” Dick sank back into his seat. “I don’t know what to do, Alfred.”
“Have you tried talking to Mr. West again? Perhaps Miss (Y/N) needs someone familiar around?” Alfred crossed his arms, pursing his lips.
“Wally won’t answer my calls. I tried calling him, but he won’t pick up.” Dick ran a hand through his hair. “I called with her phone to see if he would pick up for (Y/N), but nothing. Her mother is not answering either, which isn’t a surprise. I debated calling Bart Allen or Jesse Chambers or even Jay Garrick, but I don’t know if it would be a comfort to her. She wasn’t very close to them.”
“I swear that man and his mother are almost as stubborn as Master Bruce.” Alfred stood up and moved around the kitchen. “Did Miss (Y/N) have any cravings?”
Dick smiled halfheartedly as Alfred looked through the cabinets. “Well, not recently, but before everything, she was dying for pot stickers and refried beans. We had them every night for two weeks.”
Alfred shook his head. “I suppose we can add a salad on the side.” He started to cook, gesturing for Dick to get out. “Now I need you to come up with a plan to get Miss (Y/N) out of bed. It’s best that we don’t have to force her out.”
“Right.” Dick sipped at his coffee and left the kitchen. He racked his brain. There had to be a way to get you out of bed on your own. He was a fool for expecting Alfred to come over and magically fix everything. Dick smiled. However, if he figured out a way to get you up, Alfred’s food would probably keep you up. It was going to be way better than the food Dick had made for you the last few days.
Dick wandered upstairs and stopped outside an empty bedroom. This was the room you planned for the baby. Nothing was in it yet. In fact, it wasn’t even painted. Suddenly, a lightbulb went off in Dick’s head. After all, you were still you, even if you didn’t remember the last three years.
***
“Oops.” You jerked awake, sitting up in bed. Your eyes felt sticky, your body more tired than you ever felt before. The master bedroom was empty, but the doors to the rest of the house was open. “Damn, which color was it supposed to be again?”
It was Dick’s voice. You frowned. Curiosity tickled you. You felt the urge to get up and see what he was doing. Honestly, you were waiting for something to happen. Wallowing in self pity and sorrow only seemed worthwhile for so long.
You pulled back the covers and got to your feet. The pajamas you wore were a little tight around your stomach, the baby bump revealing itself. You still couldn’t believe you were pregnant and married. How do you forget something so important? It was like you were living someone else’s life.
“It couldn’t be black, could it?” Dick’s voice echoed down the hall. Your heart jolted. Why did you have a sense of dread?
You went down the hall, not caring that you were walking around in pajamas and bed hair. Dick was in one of the empty bedrooms surrounded by boxes and paint cans. He was holding up paint sample cards to the wall, clearly deep in thought. “What are you doing?” you asked.
He flinched, dropping his sample cards. “(Y/N)? Oh, good. I was thinking of painting this bedroom. We were going to make this the baby’s room, but white walls are just so boring. I was trying find a color that matches those decorations.” He nodded to the boxes.
You knelt down to look through the box, getting curiouser by the minute. Inside was a ton of baby decorations, all circus themed. “Wait, you were thinking black for the walls?” You looked up at him in disbelief. Your eye caught the black paint sample on the floor. “Black? For a baby’s room?”
“Yeah, it would really bring out the circus theme.” Dick’s eyes were wide with innocence. You swore you saw a hint of a smirk on his lips.
“No, that’s not happening.” You got to your feet and took the paint samples from him. “I mean what are you thinking?”
“I don’t know. This is more your thing.” Dick shrugged as you tossed the black sample over your shoulder while keeping the others. You held them against the wall and glanced back at the decorations in the box. “I think we should go with this blue.” You handed him the right sample.
Dick grinned. “Yeah, I can see it now.” He came up behind you and held the paint sample to the wall. “I’ll go buy the paint.” You shivered, feeling his breath against your neck.
“Miss (Y/N), Master Dick, dinner is served.” Alfred appeared in the doorway. You crossed your arms.
“I’m not very hungry, Alfred. Sorry.” You moved away from Dick and toward the door.
“That’s too bad, because I made pot stickers, refried beans, and a green salad.” Alfred sighed and headed down the stairs. Your stomach growled. You found yourself following him.
“You did?” Wrapping your arms around yourself, you licked your lips. “When did you get here, Alfred?”
Alfred shrugged. “A few hours ago.” He disappeared around the corner.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.” Dick came up behind you and wrapped his arm around your shoulders to lead you toward the kitchen. “We’ll finish the baby’s room later.”
You frowned, glancing back at the room. Did you really marry a man who thought black was a good color to paint a room? No wonder most of the house was your designs. “I suppose I could eat. Since I’m up and all.”
Dick hummed. You glanced at him, wondering once more what you saw in him. He was hot, you admitted to yourself, and kind. You pondered some more as you both joined Alfred for dinner.
***
With your stomach full and satisfied, you ended up in the baby’s room again. You offered to help with dishes, but Alfred refused your help, instead making Dick do them as Alfred had to head home to take care of Bruce.
Kneeling down next to the box of decorations, you sorted through it. There was were pictures of circus animals, a worn stuffed elephant, a circus mobile, crib sheets with lion and lion tamers on them etc. You noticed a lack of clowns, but then remembered the Joker and thought it was for the best.
“We have the crib, but it’s still in the box in the closet. Bruce and Alfred sent it over once we told them the news.” Dick’s voice made you flinch. You forced yourself to relax as he slowly made his way to sit down next to you on the floor. He kept a nice distance between you, sensing your unease.
“That was nice of them.” You bit your lip. Dick reached over to take the worn stuffed elephant, smirking at it. “That was yours, wasn’t it?”
Dick looked up at you in surprise. The hopefulness in his eyes panged your heart. You didn’t remember that, you just guessed. “Yeah, I grew up with Sikta. She’s named after one of the elephants we had in the circus.” He chuckled, glancing back at the stuffed elephant. “She used to tease me by spraying water on me when I was close by and I would sneak her peanuts.”
“Wow.” You felt a smile pull at your lips. “We didn’t have any pets when I was little. Mom and Dad wouldn’t let us and with Wally being a superhero. No one had the time I guess.” You shrugged, taking out a few classic children books. “These were mine.” You opened them to see your messy three year old handwriting inside. “I wrote my name in them because Wally always did it to his.”
“Is that your name? Wow, your handwriting has gotten much better.” Dick teased, leaning closer to look at the book with you. You got a whiff of his cologne, faded, but still there.
His words gave you pause. “Did I take your name?” You looked at him, blinking when you found him only inches away from you. He turned, his lips almost brushing yours.
“Yeah.” He swallowed hard. “You said your name sounded better as (Y/N) Grayson instead of (Y/N) West.” A blush came to his cheeks. “I was quite flattered.”
“Is that why Wally doesn’t approve?” You took a deep breath, breathing in his scent. It made your body relax. Your abdomen buzzed with excitement.
“No.” Dick sighed. He paused before slowly wrapping an arm around your waist. You found you didn’t mind the touch. “I don’t know for sure to be honest. He hated that we were together and that we kept it a secret for so long. Wally always said that he worked hard to keep you from this life. I think he didn’t want you to be apart of the superhero life and by being with me, you joined it.”
You pursed your lips. “Right, so I should be the one left out? It’s bad enough that I spend holidays alone with Mom and Dad when Wally ran off to save the world. At least with Aunt Iris, it was just me and her when Wally and Barry ran off. Less fighting and passive aggressive comments all the time.”
“Do you want to try to call him?” Dick looked at you with those sparkling blue eyes. You found yourself awed by them. Hopefully, the baby would get his eyes. They were so much prettier than yours.
“No.” You turned back to the books, picking up the Peter Pan book. Opening the cover, you smiled sadly when you saw Wally’s name crossed out and replaced with your own. Dick’s chin rested on your shoulder, looking with you. “I don’t think it will do any good.”
“You don’t know that.” Dick pressed a kiss to your shoulder. “But I’ll support whatever you want to do.” You felt him smile into you, feeling it through your pajamas.
You felt yourself crack like the ground during an earthquake. Your emotions swelled to the surface.
“I’m sorry.” Tears welled up in your eyes uncontrollably. You turned away from him. “I’m sorry I don’t remember. I’m sorry I don’t know you like you know me.” A sob slipped out. It was unstoppable. You felt like there was no way to put a lid on your emotions. “It’s horrible to see the hope in your eyes, but the truth is, I don’t know if I’ll ever remember because nothing here triggers anything for me.” You glanced around the room. “I don’t remember buying this stuff, I don’t remember anything of the photos of us, or decorating this beautiful home.” You choked, wiping your tears with your sleeve. “It’s hopeless.”
Dick pulled you into his arms, letting you rest your head on his chest. “It’s not hopeless and you don’t need to be sorry. You can’t help it. I understand that.” He kissed the top of your head. You relaxed, soothed by his scent and warmth. Your body certainly remembered him, but why couldn’t the rest of you? “I love you, (Y/N). During our vows, I promised to be with you even after death parted us. We’ll work through this.” He chuckled softly. “If anything, we’ll just have to make new memories and stop focusing on remembering the old.”
You looked up at you, smiling at his goofy grin. “Did we really promise each other that in our wedding vows?”
“We did.” Dick leaned down. His lips brushed softly against your cheeks, making your entire body light up in pleasure. “We’ll just have to get married over again, so you can have new memories.”
You blinked. “Do you really mean that?” His lips left you aching for more. He got to his feet and held out his hand.
“Yeah, I do.” He winked at you. “Come on, let’s get out of here and watch a movie or something? Maybe we can discuss what kind of memories we want to make while we do it?”
You nodded, starstruck. Now you could see how you fell in love with him. He was just so...charming. You took his warm hand and got to your feet. Hope was reborn inside you.
***
To say Dick felt great would have been an understatement. He was practically skipping through patrol. Many of the criminals he found were quite surprised by the happy Nightwing who wouldn’t stop smiling as he knock their lights out.
He finished up patrol early and picked up a few things. Dick couldn’t believe he was so stupid. You needed to make new memories instead of him trying to force the old on you. Yes, it hurt him to know you didn’t remember the first time you met, the time he proposed, the wedding, you telling him you were pregnant... Dick swallowed hard, pushing his own feelings aside. He had to focus on you.
Dick took the tunnel home and quickly changed out of his suit. He showered quickly before the food he picked up could melt. Jogging up the stairs, Dick felt like he could do anything.
The kitchen light was on. Dick frowned slightly, wondering if you were up. He knew he turned that off.
As he stepped inside, he froze when he saw a tall, masculine figure leaning inside the fridge. Dick carefully set the bag down on the floor and crept up behind the figure. He grabbed the figure by the back of their leather jacket and pulled them back out of the fridge. The figure grunted, elbowing Dick in the stomach.
Dick groaned before using his strength and position to push the figure into a hold over the kitchen counter. “What the hell?” the figure said. “You greet all your visitors like this, Dickhead?”
“Jason?” Dick blinked, feeling stupid for not recognizing the brown leather jacket that Jason always wore. He let his brother go. Jason groaned, stretching his arms. “What are you doing here?”
“I got back from four months in space yesterday, so I decided to stop by and get something to eat while on my way back to Gotham,” Jason said, glaring at Dick. “(Y/N) said I was always welcome. She even gave me a key.”
Dick sighed. He rolled his shoulders to try to relax. “Right.” He took the groceries out of the bag and slipped around Jason to put them away in the fridge. Jason licked his lips at the sight. “It’s not for you. Don’t touch them.”
“Why not?” Jason snorted, opening a cabinet to take out a bag of chips.
“Jay, did you get any news while you were away?” Dick closed the freezer and leaned against it with his arms crossed. “I’m assuming no, because you wouldn’t have sneaked in here if you did.”
Jason rolled his eyes. “I know you spawned. Tim sent me the announcement card.” He shrugged his shoulder, shoving a chip into his mouth. “Congrats, I guess,” he mumbled with his mouth full.
Dick held back a wince. That felt so long ago. You were so excited to send out those announcements. “Something happened with (Y/N).” He swallowed hard when Jason suddenly froze, staring at Dick with wide eyes. “She’s fine, physically at least. The baby is too.” Dick held up his hands. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
Jason finished chewing and swallowed before he spoke. “So what happened?” His eyes darkened. Dick almost smiled. He always found it funny how protective Jason became of you once you joined the family. Then again, everyone in the family felt the same way.
“(Y/N) took a fall during patrol a few weeks ago.” The memory flashed before his eyes. He had to blink it away. “She was in a coma for about a week. When she finally woke up, she didn’t remember me.” He bit his lip, hating the horror dawning on Jason’s face. “She doesn’t remember anything from the last three years. The last thing she remembered was the day before Wally’s engagement party.”
“Shit.” The color drained out of Jason’s face. “I’m sorry. Geez, I could have scared her to death if she found me, huh?” He ran a hand through his hair at the same time Dick did. Dick noticed, but Jason didn’t.
“It’s okay, you didn’t get the message.” Dick rested a hand on Jason’s shoulder. “If you want to crash on the couch, I can introduce you. She’s met the others again already.”
“Why can’t I take the guest room?” Jason met Dick’s eye, having a ‘duh’ moment. “Oh, right. I suppose if she doesn’t remember you at all, you won’t just jump into bed together.”
Dick hummed, tensing when he heard a creak from the stairs. “So the couch is what I can offer you. We’re going to make up the other bedroom, but we haven’t got to that. I was going to set it up before...”
Jason snorted, tilting his head. He heard you too.
Dick sighed before turning to meet you as you entered the kitchen. You took his breath away even with bedhead and those pajamas that were getting too small for your growing belly. “What’s going on?” you yawned, rubbing your eyes. You saw Jason and jumped at the stranger in your kitchen.
“Sweetheart.” Dick soothed, reaching out to take your hand. You relaxed slightly. “This is Jason, my brother.”
“Oh.” You laughed slightly. “Hi. Dick told me you’re the one who causes the most trouble.” You waved at him shyly. Dick could see the grief in Jason’s eyes once he realized you didn’t recognize him, but only knew of him.
Jason quickly hid his feelings. “Nah, Dickhead is the troublemaker. Isn’t that why you’re knocked up?” He smirked when you seemed slightly taken back by the comment.
You blushed, taking a step behind Dick to hide your pajamas. A somewhat awkward silence filled the room. Dick cleared his throat, squeezing your hand soothingly. “Can Jay stay the night on the couch?” he asked you.
“Sure.” You bit your lip. “That would be fine. Sorry that the guest bedroom is already taken.”
Jason shrugged. “It’s fine. I’ve been sleeping on a rock floor for the past week, so this will be luxury.” He shoved more chips in his mouth.
“I’m going back to bed.” You slipped away. Dick turned, but you were gone as quickly as you came.
“Wow, so you weren’t kidding. She doesn’t know us at all. Otherwise, she would have yelled at me for eating chips and insist I eat some leftovers or something.” Jason sighed, rolling up the chip bag and wiping his fingers on his jeans.
Dick held his breath, listening to your footsteps as you moved around upstairs. “I have a plan though.”
Jason snorted, shaking his head. He grabbed a can of soda out of the fridge. “What? You’re going to hit her on the head again and see if it all comes back?”
“No!” Dick punched Jason’s arm. Jason winced, rubbing his arm. “I thought I could trigger her memories with the house and photos, but it’s not working.” Dick bit his lip. “So I decided to make new memories with her. Tomorrow, I’m going to make her breakfast.”
Jason raised an eyebrow. “Right. Well, don’t mind me.” He waved a hand and brushed past Dick to go to the living room. Dick snorted, holding back a yawn of his own. He turned off the lights and headed upstairs to the lonely guest bedroom.
***
You stood in front of the full length mirror in the huge bathroom, studying yourself. Three years didn’t change much overall. Sure, your hair was different. Maybe your face thinned out a little, losing the bit of it’s childishness.
You turned to the side. The baby bump was new. You remembered Dick said you were almost at the end of your fourth month. Running your hands over it, you smiled. Children had always been something you considered. Tears filled your eyes as you thought about finally having your own family.
Of course, you didn’t remember anything about your husband or the act of getting pregnant itself. You took a deep breath. “New memories,” you said to yourself. Dick was supportive of it and honestly you felt it was the only way to move forward.
The house was quiet for five in the morning. You had been awake since you heard Dick and Jason downstairs. Moping and sleeping for the past week left you full of an energy you weren’t sure what to do with.
After leaving Dick and Jason, you explore every single drawer and storage container in your bedroom. It was like shopping, discovering you still had amazing taste in clothes. Dick had nice clothes too. You blushed at the thought.
You rocked on your feet. Boredom was your problem now.
With a sigh, you left the bathroom and collapsed onto the bed. You reached for your phone and started to look through your pictures again. There were a lot of selfies of you and Dick, a picture of an ultrasound, shots of Dick’s family doing silly things, and lots of kids and people you didn’t know. You guessed that they were people from your gymnastics school.
But there was one person missing from your recent pictures. Wally.
Tears burned in your eyes. “New memories, but without my family.” A shaky breath slipped out of you as you opened your contacts and hovered your thumb over Wally’s name.
You remembered how Wally wouldn’t look you in the eye once he found out you were pregnant. How fast he ran out of the batcave, leaving you alone with people you didn’t know.
Your Wally wouldn’t do that. Never.
You hesitated, hovering your thumb over the call button. He probably wouldn’t be awake if he answered at all. You bit your lip.
Melancholy ate at your heart. You wanted to just see someone you knew. Uncle Barry, Aunt Iris, Wally. Even your mother or father would be great right now.
Your stomach growled. A blush came to your cheeks. You sat up and looked at the double doors to the rest of the house. “It’s your house, you can go eat, you can do what you want,” you told yourself softly. Blueberry muffins with strawberry smoothies sounded good. Very good.
You stood up and went to the door. Taking a deep breath, you opened the door and stepped into the hallway to shuffle your way to the kitchen.
***
Dick woke to the smell of freshly made muffins and coffee. He opened his eyes and jerked up to his feet. “Crap.” He checked the clock only to find it to be seven in the morning. Blinking, he rubbed a hand over his face. Did he make the muffins already? Why would he be in bed though?
He grabbed a shirt from the foot of his bed and headed downstairs. Your laughter drifted from the kitchen along with Jason’s low chuckle.
You and Jason were at the kitchen table with muffins and smoothies in front of you. Jason had a grin on his face. Dick’s heart stuttered when he saw a matching one on your lips. He couldn’t remember the last time he saw you  smile. A real smile.
“Hey, I was going to make you breakfast,” Dick said. He straightened his shoulders when your smile didn’t fall as you turned to look at him. “I picked up the fruit last night.”
“Sorry, I was hungry and up early. I saw the fruit and went with it.” You stood up. Dick’s eyes dropped to your bump. Still there. Slightly. He wished he could rest his hand on it, but he stopped himself. You might not be comfortable with that yet.
Jason glanced between Dick and you. He took a big bite of a muffin. You turned away. Dick raised an eyebrow at him. Jason just smiled while chewing.
“Close your mouth,” you said, patting Jason’s shoulder. Jason obeyed. Dick’s heart fluttered as he thought for a moment how it was like the old you. You took out another plate and glass. Dick took a seat across from Jason.
“I was telling (Y/N) about my adventures in space,” Jason said once you sat back down and served Dick a muffin and a smoothie.
You smiled, resting your chin in your hand. “I think you were on the part where you got drunk on alien beer and found yourself in bed with a three foot tentacle monster and a six breasted woman.”
Dick choked on his smoothie. He coughed. You reached over to pat his back. Jason just laughed, leaning back in his seat.
“You what?!” Dick said after he recovered. Your hand stayed on his back. Dick met your eye as Jason told the story. His heart fluttered with hope, your touch warm and so familiar. He hoped this new memories idea worked. His heart couldn’t take it otherwise.

Hear me out:
I don’t follow these blogs too much, but
Bob Velseb from “Spooky Month: Tender Treats”?
WARNING: cannibalism, bloody violence, use of firearms, home invasion, toxic mindset.
* * *
When the door came flying off its hinges, you pulled the trigger.
A thunderous bang did echo within the house, followed by the jangle of the bullet casing as it bounced around the floor.
Looming in the doorway was a bulky man dressed for the cold, yet all the bullet managed to do was poke a hole in the fabric of his red turtleneck sweater.
It had been a straight shot at his heart. Any human would have been felled and lying in a dark puddle, but he stood tall and looked down his nose at the wound.
A smile was beaming across his face, the kind that made your latest meal rise in your throat and your hold on the pistol weaken until sweat beaded on your forehead.
His eyes, wild and monstrous, rolled up to yours. “Howdy, neighbour!” There was an ominous deepness and slowness to his voice that simmered with barely contained enthusiasm.
The news bulletin flashed in your mind's eye, and the line between reality and a face on a screen blurred as Bob Velseb stalked into your home.
He moved with the swiftness and quietude of a hunter, the music of Halloween at his back.
Atop his head was a pair of devil horns, plastic and red as the mask covering his hair and face. The curve of the horns formed the same crescent as the upward turn of his lips. His front three upper teeth were visible, catching the silvery moonlight in a grin that reached from one ear to the other.
A mix of saliva and blood dripped from his chin, the clear sheen of his drool having blended into the sanguine fluid in a viscous trail that fell in drops to the floor.
The pitter-patter of these droplets splattering over the floorboards rippled among the silence of the home. Its supremacy came under challenge as the breaths emanating from Bob grew into hungry, panting scrambles for air.
A pinkish tint swelled brighter inside his cheeks with each puff, and this, combined with his unblinking stare and wide-open mouth, gave the illusion of a child bursting with excitement.
Bob jerked forward in a step so rapid that it was hardly noticeable. The board creaked underfoot for just a moment, letting out a squeak like that of a mouse.
The blade, pulled taut in his right hand, bared its pointy end at the floor. It glinted in the dim light of the night, which was filtered and splintered through the shutters of the living room window.
The hulking shape of Bob was silhouetted against this window, all except for the whites of his eyes. His eyes glowed with a cyan tinge, and they strayed from you to the bowl of candy on the kitchen counter for a mere second.
“Did you know?” he mused, lapping his lower lip with his tongue and speaking with the casual freedom of friends chatting over Sunday dinner. “In some cultures, the recently deceased are eaten by their families—” he cocked his head, pupils dilating and grin stretching wider “—as a way of feeling closer.”
Bob had raised the index finger of his free hand and was jiggling it alongside his words. In that instant, he resembled a schoolteacher giving a presentation in front of the blackboard.
The smile on his face tightened into a snarl as soon as you started to creep backwards. His veneer of innocence was torn away like an unwanted curtain, and in its place was a glare, a predatory and deathly one.
“Going somewhere?” The tip of his knife was lifted in the direction of your chest. He was salivating like a dog, streaks of froth leaking from the corners of his lips.
A twitch began to infect his fingers as if he were itching to grab and hold.
You calculated the distance between where you stood and the back door. It was half the distance between you and Bob, which he went to close with an eager dash.
The blade rang as it sliced the air, and if not for a duck and a dodge, your blood would have stained the floorboards. Bob swung his knife with wanton passion and charged at you, each swing holding the weight of a brick wall behind it.
Your back collided with the locked door and rattled it upon impact. The stiff and bumpy texture of the wooden frame pressed against your skin as the full force of Bob was caught in your hands, with your fingers wrapping around his wrists and pushing them away from your head.
The pointy end of his knife hovered near your eyeball with a slight shake. Bob bore down on it with all his might, and he leaned forward so that his warm breath was fanning your face.
When his attention flitted between your eyes and the hand of yours that restrained his knife, you predicted the chomp and subsequent spike of pain that came next.
Bob sunk his teeth into your forearm as if it were a delicacy. The pressure was akin to a bear trap snapping shut around your flesh. Lines of saliva traced the length of your arm, intertwined with the driblets of blood secreted by the punctures.
He refused to let go no matter how much you squirmed and wrenched your affected limb. A yelp escaped you that made his cheeks turn red-hot, and his eyes gazed into your crinkled own as if he were seeing something beautiful.
It took you cracking him in the head with the butt of the pistol to loosen his grip. Still, Bob held on and thrust his knife at you every time you attempted to slip past him.
Just as your legs were beginning to buckle, the shrill wail of a police siren cried out in the night. Revolving stripes of blue and red skirted the shutters and painted the interior of the house every few seconds.
Bob ripped his teeth out of your arm and recoiled, head whipping towards the front door. His face contorted into a vicious scowl, and a cyan light flared in his eyes. A rumble in his chest evolved into a growl climbing high in his throat, deepening and strengthening into a roar.
He yanked himself away from you and brandished his knife at the doorway. “Don't interrupt us!” Spit flew out of his mouth, dotting the floor in uneven splotches.
Footsteps thundered across the driveway and up the doorstep, and in a flash of metal rising from holsters, a pair of police officers flooded into the living room with their handguns drawn and pointed.
“Stand down, Bob!” shouted the mustachioed officer.
Bob had a feral look in his eye, and as his body shook while his hand clenched the knife, a bloodthirsty rampage on par with a wild animal seemed all but destined.
However, Bob kept his arms at his side and his teeth to himself when the police officers approached him with handcuffs. At the chink of the cuffs latching onto his wrists, his head swerved towards you.
He was led to the doorway, where a police cruiser idled on the street with its lights flashing against the blackness of the twilight. Before Bob was forced out of your sight, his lips curled into a grin that glowed under the moon.
“See you soon, neighbour!”

I'm Yours
Warnings: None really, maybe a little implied grown-up time ;P Besides that, it’s just fluffy fluff.
Pairing: Harry Wells x Reader
Word count: 1.2K+
A/N: So this is my first posting in what, 4 years? Has it really been that long? Not only that, I also decided to do it with a fandom I have not written for before. I fell into a Flash hole about a few months ago, and I have taken a particular liking to Earth 2 Harry Wells. So consider this as me hopefully coming back, and hopefully having made something cute for y’all. All mistakes are my own!
It's based on I'm Yours by Jason Mraz - was hearing it one day in my car and thought it would be cute! Also I don't own the GIF's, one I found on google and one here <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were walking through the cortex, thinking about how you were going to steal the projector Cisco was hiding in STAR labs. A big smile spread on your face as you skipped down the hall. Cisco rarely let anyone borrow it, not even you, his best friend. He loved how you were both movie dorks, but he protected it with his life if he had to. Hence you were now sneaking in to steal it for the marathon weekend you were having with yourself.
You turned towards his workshop, his little lab, or not so much his own anymore. There was a certain Earth 2 scientist that had occupied it. Now wasn’t any different than usual. Harry was sitting in the lab tinkering away at some sort of tech in front of him. You weren’t the engineer or the smart one as your best friend, so you never understood what he and Harry worked on together. Or what they were always bickering about.
You leaned yourself on the doorframe into the lab as you studied him for a bit. His long fingers worked away, tweezing some cords together as he tried applying power to it again. Harry only earned some sputtering from the tech and groaned out in frustration.
“Goddamit how hard can it be?!” He yelled out while tossing the screwdriver across the room. You huffed out a small laugh as you shook your head as the older man in front of you acted like a child who didn’t get his way. You had always liked Harry, you were pretty sure the entire team knew, except for him. The way his outside was so hard, when in fact you knew that Harry’s heart was big and cared a lot for all of you here. He would never say it, but you knew. You two had many small moments together where you turned his frown upside down like only Jesse could. It was one of your assets for the team. Keep Harry from throwing everything around and make him a little bit more easy-going.
“Ya know, maybe you just need a break,” You said while walking into the room, haven gotten a great idea, if you had to say so yourself. “Y/N, what are you doing here?” He asked while turning towards you for a brief moment, only to return his attention to the project in front of him; “Also no, I don’t need to take a break,” he grumbled as he started to tinker away again.
Meanwhile, you had found your phone, this was also one of the things Cisco loved about you, as you found a song to play. “To answer your question, I came to steal Cisco’s projector, but now I think I have a better idea of how to spend my time,” you mused as you closed in on Harry you put your phone down beside him, and pushed play.
You slowly turned Harry in his chair, he looked at you like he could kill you, but all you could do was smile as you started singing.
“Well you done, done me in; you bet I felt it, I tried to be chill but you’re so hot that I melted,” you reached your hands down to Harry’s arms to pull him to stand. “Y/N, I’m not doing this. I’m busy, and you of all people should know I need to get this done,” His voice laced with annoyance and reluctance as you sang. “Well, I don’t care,” You answered while the music shortly played on its own. You forced him to stand, keeping both of your hands in his, as you slowly started to move the both of you.
“Before the cool done run out, I’ll be giving it my bestest, nothing’s going to stop me, but divine intervention, I reckon it’s again my turn to win some or learn some,” You continued as you slowly got Harry to move with you. A big smile played across your lips, your eyes twinkling in the light of the lab. You were looking into Harry’s beautiful blue eyes behind the glasses, and you swore you could see a little glimpse of enjoyment.
“See, it’s not so bad, now is it?” You joked with him earning a small groan from him, but a small smile curved at his lips. He pulled you into him, earning a small squeal from you, as you properly began to dance together.
“Well, open up your mind and see like me. Open up your plans and damn you’re free. Look into your heart and you’ll find love, love, love, love” Your voice continued to ring out as Harry spun you around. “Listen to the music of the moment, people dance and sing, we’re just one big family, and it’s our god-forsaken right to be loved, love, love, love, loved,”
You were having the best time as you were laughing and singing. Having Harry be invested in your idea, actually dancing with you, and not only that, he was smiling. Your heart felt so full. You knew he would be the death of you, with his gorgeous smile and handsome looks.
“I’ve been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror and bending over backwards just to see it clearer,” You got caught off guard when you heard Harry’s hoarse voice singing along to the song while you were still swaying to the song together. You had heard it so many times around him, that the genius apparently had learned the lyrics.
“I guess what I be saying is there ain’t no better reason to rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons. It’s what we aim to do, our name is our virtue. But I won’t hesitate no more, no more, it cannot wait - I’m yours,” You sang together as the song came to an end you stayed close to each other.
You looked into Harry’s mesmerizing eyes, your eyes must shimmer from all the love you felt towards him. You had your hands at his shoulders and his was around your waist. You had laughed and smiled so much during your dancing that your cheeks hurt, but you couldn’t remove the smile on your lips. Looking at Harry with a rare but equally just as big of a smile as yours, as you were breathing a little heavy after all the dancing and singing.
You thought to yourself how perfect he looked standing there. You could feel yourself getting flustered as you felt his breath on your lips. Before you could stop yourself you leaned up toward his lips. At first, he didn’t respond to it, but it didn’t take him long before his lips moved with yours. Your fingers tangled themselves in his hair, earning a little moan from him. His tongue ran across your lip and you gladly let him enter. His hands on your hips pulled you even closer to him.
As the kiss deepened and became more passionate, his hands moved down to cup your ass and without any words needing to be spoken, you jumped and wrapped your legs around his waist. He walked over to his desk and set you down on it, while his hands came to cup your face instead. You pulled apart for both of you to catch your breath, foreheads leaning on each other.
“Wow,” Was all you could muster to say, as you smiled while biting your lower lip. He gave a small chuckle from the depth of his throat. “Wow, yourself,” he gave you the biggest smile and a wink. “Maybe that break isn’t such a bad idea,” He said hoisting you up to him again, a squeal and laugh escaping your lips.

Dating Barry Allen would include:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fem!Reader or GN!Reader TW: Mild Mental Health topics(Anxiety) No panic attacks depicted.
A/N: I've never really been a flash girl but tomorrowverse barry had me in my feelings. I did have a dream he wanted to date me really bad but I was like nah man I'm a superman girlie till I die. I tried my best with this one I hope it's alright!
Barry Allen, Mr.Loverboy himself. The man that you are. He's trying his best at all times. Despite being the fastest man alive he can't be everywhere at once. It'd be nice to be on a date with you and also stop criminals.
World's best gopher, you need something? He's on it! You forgot to get milk? Check the fridge. Your heater broke? Here's a new one! Sometimes he'll just drop off flowers or candies while you're at work. He'll leave them on your desk or in your locker with a little love note.
He loves to hype you up as much as possible, but he'll get really shy when you compliment him back.
Barry will bring home new recipes from all over the world to cook with you. It's one of his favorite things to do together, standing next to each other while preparing a meal. It's so simple yet so domestic. It's the little things that really get him emotional.
Sometimes he'll prank you, he'll tap you on the shoulder and bolt out of the room before you turn to look. He'll even move things around while you're cooking or working at your desk. You'll confront him and he'll just smile like this 😁
He'll use his speed to give you kisses, if he sees you while he's out on patrol. You'll be minding your own business and feel lips on yours. He might even leave a little flower in your hand.
Moving in together! He daydreams about that so often, you have to snap him out of it. He dreams of putting a table from IKEA together for you. For a big moment like this he doesn't put everything together super fast, he wants this to last. Seeing your home slowly come together brings him such joy and the best part is when it's all done. You both get to cuddle on YOUR couch, watching YOUR TV.
Dating him you guys become the same person, nothing is really "mine" or "yours" it's "ours" or "we". You guys are on the same page alot so when you're on missions on or not he'll say it. "Batman WE think we should go ahead and stop the meeting at the warehouse. "WE don't think it's a good idea." "OUR plan is much more productive." The rest of league is sick of you guys😭
There are some days his anxiety gets the best of him and he's glad you're there to calm the storm. He worries and gets into his head alot, Barry will want to call you and share these thoughts. It's helpful to him to get a trusted second opinion from the most important person in his life.
During the winter he'll put your hand in his coat pocket while walking down the street. Once you find your way into a nice warm cafe, he'll take your hands and caress them to warm them up some more. He'll just protect you from the elements in general, on a hot summer day he'll give you his baseball cap or just fan you off real fast. In the fall he likes to see you in your scarf under the red and orange leaves of central city park.

Disordered (Shadow Of A Bluejay Ch.9)
Whoooo, angst (light angst but angst) in general it's a shorter chapter because it's mostly reformatted from Shadow Of A Bluebird seeing as it covered much of the same ground.
My current plan is three more chapters (including the finale) and a few more mini chapters to cover the remaining episodes and milestones we need to hit to be ready for the finale one of which is gonna be Blue's first time meeting their fellow sidekicks!

Mount Justice October 23, 17:30 EDT
It’d been a week since Batman put you and the team through a train for failure mission. A week to sit on everything that occurred in the increasingly horrifying experience where no matter what you did the situation kept getting worse. You refused to speak after the exercise. You didn’t leave the cave. You simply trained, and trained and trained while rerunning what had happened in the exercise in your mind.
Simulation Alien Mothership October 16th
Artemis was dead. Kaldur was dead. Connor was dead. Dinah was dead. Ollie was dead. Roy was probably either dead or dying and you felt anger that you haven’t felt in a very long time. You were full of rage, rage that bubbled under your skin as your friends and everyone who tried to help them died before your eyes and it bubbled until you reached the boiling point.
Once you, Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Martian Manhunter were almost out of the mothership. Almost saved the world you snapped. Not at your allies but at the aliens that surrounded you. The strange bug like creatures surrounded your and you let your anger take control and you stormed the Aliens, screaming a battle cry.
“How dare you?! You killed Artemis! You killed Dinah! You killed Ollie! You killed everyone, and I’m going to make your deaths painful!” You sneered, you jumped into action. Muscle memory took control and almost every blow you landed hit hard. Energy consumed your veins and you began zapping or electrocuting the aliens, it was unclear to you. It didn’t matter though and your rage filled alien murder spree continued. Robin forced the Martians to escape and joined your fight only for you to be zapped by an alien he was fighting.
That’s when you woke up. You looked around, you listened to the explanation and all you could do was look down at your slightly shaking hands in guilt.
You stayed away from the rest of the team after that, refusing to talk to anyone. The only person you talked to was Dinah and only to tell her you were fine and didn’t wanna talk about it.
Mount Justice October 23rd
Kaldur had gone in to see Dinah, Connor and Artemis already spoke to her and M'gann felt too bad to look any of you in the eyes. all had left the room, leaving only you, Robin and Wally sitting in the lounge.
The TV was black and silent and the three of you just sat there.
The three of you had all "died" together in the simulation. Wally was your best friend and Robin was his and leaving you three alone well...
"Blue, your floating again" Wally said. He sat on the couch opposite you.
"Sorry, my mind was drifting" You said, falling back onto the couch with a lack of grace the two had never seen before.
"This is awful" Robin said.
"Do you ever think, maybe we shouldn't be doing this?" You asked.
"What do you mean?" Wally asked.
"I know we're the good guys but maybe we're too dangerous to be so freely fighting, I mean, you saw how quickly all of us became soldiers in there" You said.
"Is this because of that weird laser thing you did on the mothership?" Wally asked.
"It's because we're dangerous! Because if we're not careful, if we don't control ourselves we could so easily hurt so many people" You said.
"I mean, Wally you could theoretically break the sound barrier, and Robin and I could kill someone with just our bare hands" Yo looked down at your hands.
"Is it really safe for the people around to us to be around us?" You asked.
"Of course it is" Robin said.
"Yeah, we'd never do anything to hurt anyone" Wally added.
"But it would be so easy for us" You said.
"Is this because of your um... meltdown in the simulation?" Robin aske.
"No, just forget it" You said, getting up and walking out.
Mount Justice October 23, 20:03 EDT
You sat in front of her in a green chair and took off your glasses.
“I’m glad you chose to come talk to me Y/N” She said and you laughed dryly.
“As if I could ever escape it” You joked but Dinah stayed silent, waiting for you to speak. She knew you. She knows you. She knows that those dry, sarcastic jokes are a sign you’re going to open up.
“It was weird at first. I didn’t feel bad after seeing you and Ollie disintegrate but when Artemis died, or when we thought she did this feeling in my chest just appeared. Like a promise or an oath I had to uphold.” You explained and Dinah nodded. “And what was that promise?” She asked, you answered, though still didn’t look up from your hands.
“To get revenge. To painfully tear apart those who killed her… And you and Ollie.” You answered truthfully and finally looked up at her. “And I did. I killed them, so many of them.” Your voice started to shake and you looked back at your hands.
“Did you try to hurt them when you killed them?” She asked and you nodded.
“I wanted to— I did enjoy seeing them squirm as I did it. And seeing them all explode, it just felt…” A single sob escaped you. “It just felt right.” You confessed and you looked down at your rapidly shaking hands. “I promised— I said I’d never do it again. I’d never take a life like that again, but I felt good as I did it.” Warm tears began to flow down your face but you didn’t try to wipe them. You simply stared at your hands, trying to stop the shaking by tightly gripping your knees and Dinah simply sat. Waiting for you to feel good enough to continue.
"You're not at fault Y/N" Dinah said.
"Aren't I though? Four years of progress and yet all it took for me to snap was some stress" You said.
"It wasn't just stress. M'gann's mental state infected you. You thought you lost everything. In a situation like that regressing is natural" She said.
"It's not just that, between the mission in Bialiya, my mission with Roy and this, it feels like, like it's all coming back to haunt me." You told Dinah, though that wasn't the whole truth. You didn't tell Dinah about your meeting with Lady Lilith. You didn't tell anyone that.
"Is it really coming back to haunt you or are you scared it will? Your past will always be there Y/N but you have friends, close friends who care about you. Maybe it's time you told them at least some of it" Dinah said.
"No!" You yelled.
"Absolutely not. They'll hate me" You said.
"Y/N, we classified your file to keep you and everyone around you safe but it's been four years and they haven't come after you. perhaps it's time we think about declassifying some of it?" Dinah suggested.
"No. Not yet." You said and reluctantly Dinah nodded.
"Whatever you decide. You set the pace." she said.
The next week was rough, Canary let you off school and you spent a lot of time in the cave and with Roy. Ollie wasn’t joking when he said that even Roy was worried and he came by to help you try and return to normal while you coped. You were incredibly grateful for the distractions and to spend more time with him. It had been four months since he went solo and in that time you didn’t get the chance to hang out like you used to before. Unfortunately not everything was going great.

Author’s Note: this is the second part of mer-Joth’s fic!

Warnings: magical ritual, imprisonment, ask me to tag something if it bothers you
Summary: Joth wakes up post deamon-stabbing. Things go… Strangely from there.
Joth woke up to the sound of smug sorcerer chanting, and the worst headache he's had in over three hundred years. The Thousand Son who made off with Joth's own rightful sacrifice has tied him upside down to some sort of stone. Fucker left his mouth unbound, so the irritated World Eater planned on making it the damned blue badtard's problem. “HEY FUCKER! LET ME OUT OF THIS AND GIVE ME BACK MY SACRIFICE!” He also starTed to struggle against the chains binding him in place, hoping that either the links in the chain or the stone to which he'd been pinned to would give way, thrashing as much as his bindings would allow him to.
“Hmm… No. I had been stalking after that rare specimen for months in preparation for this Ritual. Then you showed up at the last moment and messily ripped it apart. Luckily for me, you kept intact the organs and bones I required for this. I and dozens of my brothers are collaborating together on this Great Work, and should we succeed, it will allow those of us who are blessed by Chaos to work with the Warp much more similarly like it is back home, rather than the ash-fired clay effort it takes to do anything more than minor tricks here and now.” The Thousand son sniffed, glaring naughtily down at Joth for a couple of moments before returning to his chanting.
The World Eater thought about that for several seconds - the greater blessings of Khorne he had earned couldn't be used in this time, on Ancient Terra for reasons Joth could only begin to guess at. The ability to go on sustained Rampages… To ensure the Blood Flowing and the collected Skulls given to the Throne…
It was almost enough to get him to purr and settle into his bonds. “... and if I promise not to interfere with your… Ritual? Will you let me free then?” He could respect another's irritation at a kill being stolen from him. Stuffy blue fuck could have led with that hours ago and saved them both the trouble. But no, stubborn bastard sorcerers refused to communicate in more than smug smirks and annoying as fuck riddles a good ninety percent of the time, trying to prove that they were so much smarter than everyone else.
At least his Primarch survived the Heresy, and had led them to greater powers, as well as the endless glory of fighting for Khorne. Away from the false light and moneyed lies of the corpse-Emperor and his throne of lies and two-faced duplicity.
The thousand son continued to chant for several minutes, the brilliant blue glow of Warpcraft steadily shining through the other's eyes, mouth and hands as he continued the task he had set himself. Fucker didn't even look in his direction in order to acknowledge that Joth had spoken.
One of his oldest and most familiar companions - Wrath - charged to the forefront of his mind, made his dual hearts sing for the preparation of battle, in spite of the deamon-poison stings that caused his body to ache fiercely all over. Joth struggled against his bindings again, feeling some of the metal begin to stretch and give way beneath his bulk and strength.
The thousand son continued to ignore him completely, his chanting in the partially air-filled cave bouncing off of the walls, creating an echo that made it seem as if dozens or even hundreds of fellow Sorcerers were chanting with him, just a beat or two off of his own chanting. The blue of warp use continued to intensity- and started to color and light the water where the other Mer sat tall, hands weaving complicated symbols over the sacrificial bones and meat laid out on the altar the fucker was sitting in front of.
The bones and meat had begun to glow as well. Moments after that, they began to move, slowly at first before gaining speed. They started to spin around and around the room, with each revolution getting faster and faster. Along with the chanting, Joth could swear that he could hear the last pained and frightened calls that the large aquatic mammal had made - had they been a warning call, to chase others away, or a desperate plea for help?
As the glowing and chanting continued to intensify, one of the larger organs suddenly splattered against a sharp rock, causing the color of the warp-crafted light to change from blue to magenta.
Oh fuck no.
Whichever of the dark powers the thousand son had been seeking to strengthen, the plea had just shifted to another, and Joth was not going to participate in a Slaaneshi ritual while tied to a big, fuck-off boulder. He could be interpreted as part of the sacrifice and that was not happening.
Joth continued to thrash and struggle against his binings, feeling the Metal continue to give way…
But the warp-light was intensifying, and the distinctive crunch of bone on stone intensified the magenta hue, prompting the Khornate Chaos Marine to triple his efforts in an attempt to escape.
The light, chanting and spinning of flesh and bone continued to intensify, weĺl-past blinking and deafening to Joth at this point, even as he'd shut his eyes, to try and preserve them.
The sound of his chains breaking was the sweetest down Joth could ever remember hearing, and he shot out of the water - feeling the electrifying buzz of active warp-energy coating his scales… Which may or may not have consequences he'll need to deal with and/or adjust to. But that was Later Joth's problem. Right now he needed to get the fuck out of here before the ritual either ended successfully.
Or… Considering this was a project led and done by The Thousand Sons… Blow up spectacularly horribly in their faces, leading to a widespread and devastating curse affliction them. But Joth had no interest in Being Cursed by an overconfident sorcerer coven.
He swum as swiftly as the twisting tunnels and partially filled watery caverns would allow him, following the scent of fresh air.
About half-way through he battled into something small, soft and warm. His deepest instincts howled Mine! Protect! Defend! As different kinds of chains began to wind around his soul, leading into your small and delicate psychic fingertips.
Having no desire nor time to explain what he was fleeing, Joth scoops you, his newly bonded human up and continues to swim at his top speed, keeping you tucked into his chest, both so that you’re as safe as he can make you be at the moment, and so that you don’t slow him down.
He does not stop when he carries you up and out of the underwater cave system that you’d been exploring. Nor does he slow down as you flail and scream - nor heed much to the confused yelling of your friends.
But since those yelling humans are important to you, they are also picked up as he continues swimming through the air as fast as he can. He air-swims for hours before gently setting you and your friends down on the soft candy beach. He curls around you protectively as a wave of magenta-tinted exhaustion hits him “Danger… in the caves.. Do not return… Little Bonded…” He croon, making sure to use the same language that you and your friends have been yelling at him the most in, his eyes closing, even as he keeps curled protectively around you.

The worst part of being bilingual is that you read something and your mind thinks it was in a certain language, then you spend hours looking for that imagine and only later discover that it was in another language.

"Y/N? This is embarrassing." Barry stated as his boyfriend flew them high in the sky over Central City. Barry had gotten himself into a sticky situation with a meta, and Y/N had to come and bail him out.
"That's a weird way to say thank you." Y/N said.
"I'm sorry, it's just.... no one in the Central City will think the Flash can save them if he always needs saving himself."
"That's ridiculous."
"Ummm.... guys?" Chester's voice came on their comms.
"What's up, Chester?" Barry asked.
"CCPN just released a photo of you guys. With a caption on their cover story that reads: 'Flash. Hero Wonder? Or Weenie Blunder?'"
Barry looks at Y/N. "I told you."

Bug Bite
HR Wells X Reader X Harry Wells
A/N: I hope you all enjoy my new fic! Your reactions, reblogs, and comments mean the world to me and keep me motivated. Exciting news: I'll be entering my second year of school soon, and I'm thrilled about it! Thank you for your ongoing support❤️
You and HR found yourselves enjoying a late-night coffee session, the dimly lit room creating a cozy ambiance. As he helped you with your new invention to support the team, you both couldn't help but share laughter and lighthearted banter. His presence alone filled the room with a warm energy that made the hours pass by effortlessly.
At one point, while engrossed in conversation, you realized the screwdriver you needed was out of your reach, positioned on the other side of the table, just next to HR. With a gentle smile, you looked at him and kindly asked for his assistance, feeling grateful for his unwavering support.
"Thank you," you whispered appreciatively, the words slipping out while you attempted to focus on your work amidst his nonstop chatter about his latest book. Occasionally, you'd pause and listen intently to his creative ideas, offering suggestions for the perfect endings to his stories, intertwining your own imagination with his words.
As you worked, the temperature in the room seemed to rise, causing beads of sweat to form on your forehead. Instinctively, you inhaled deeply, feeling the warmth cling to your skin. Sensing your discomfort, HR paused, furrowing his brow and casting a curious glance at your neck. A mischievous smirk played on his lips as he cleared his throat, catching your attention.
"Oh my, you've been having fun," HR teased, his voice laced with playful intrigue, as he motioned toward your neck.
Startled, you shifted in your seat, suddenly self-conscious under his gaze. You swallowed nervously, locking eyes with HR, his captivating blue irises drawing you in.
"It's a bug bite," you stammered, avoiding his penetrating gaze, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, sure. Bug bites," HR replied, his arms folding across his chest as he maintained a skeptical expression.
With each passing moment, you could sense that HR's curiosity wouldn't waver until he discovered the truth. Succumbing to the inevitable, you took a deep breath, accepting your impending defeat.
"Fine," you conceded, your face turning a shade of crimson as you recalled the vivid scenario playing out in your mind. "It was Harry," you confessed, your fingertips lightly grazing the hickey on your neck, a sweet smile gracing your lips.
Just as your conversation resumed, you heard the distinct sound of footsteps approaching the Cortex. An impish grin tugged at the corners of your mouth as you locked eyes with the person entering the room, a flash of excitement dancing in your eyes.
"Oh, here's the bug," HR declared with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, pointing at Harry in jest.
"The bug?" Harry questioned, his eyebrow raised in confusion.
"Yeah, the bug," you chimed in, struggling to suppress a mischievous giggle at the inside joke shared between you and HR.
Harry appeared even more perplexed, trying to make sense of the playful banter unfolding before him.
"Wait, what bug?" Harry asked, a mixture of curiosity and amusement coloring his expression.
You exchanged a mischievous glance with HR, unable to contain the secret any longer. With a mischievous smile, you leaned closer to Harry, whispering dramatically, "It seems I've been bitten by the love bug."
Harry's eyes widened in surprise, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Well, bug bites can be contagious," he replied with a playful wink.
Laughter filled the room as HR looked on, satisfied with the playful chaos he had instigated. From that moment on, your late-night coffee sessions became a delightful blend of scientific discoveries, shared secrets, and a hint of sweet romance, all thanks to a harmless bug bite that led to unexpected connections, endless moments of laughter, and the beginning of a whimsical love story that unfolded amidst your inventive endeavors.

Made With Love – Shibaman (PSF #10)
Tumblr media

Prompt: Love of my Life (@flufftober) / Leaves dancing in the breeze (Fall Flash @slumberpartybingo)
Word Count: 5,249
Pairing: Reader x Shibaman
World: High&Low
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
If someone had asked you a year ago if you believed in love or soulmates, you probably would have said no. It just wasn’t something that ever crossed your mind, mostly because you just didn’t have the time. Between dealing with Kuryu trying to destroy Sword, then Housen and Oya going at it… It kept you pretty busy.
Things had been peaceful for several months now, though. Well, as peaceful as it could get at a place like Oya. There were still daily fights and arguments, but nothing that couldn’t be easily solved with a few punches.
With nothing else to worry about, you spent a lot of time with Tsuji, making fun of people’s poor fashion choices in magazines, and with Shibaman, listening to his favorite artists and talking about music in general.
If someone asked you to pinpoint when exactly it happened, you wouldn’t be able to answer because you simply didn’t know. You don’t know when you fell in love with Shibaman, you just knew that you had fallen hard. If you were being honest, it took you a long time to even realize it.
You started to feel nervous around him, worrying about how you acted or the things you said. You were afraid he would look at you differently. There were also the physical effects he had on you. Every time his eyes met yours, your heart would race. Hearing his voice never failed to make you feel calm and happy. His touch set butterflies free in your gut and when he spoke your name, you felt like you were melting.
You thought you were sick or maybe even allergic to him. It was so foreign to you that it was jarring, so you started to avoid him. He didn’t like this, of course, so he confronted you about it. You had no idea how to explain what you were feeling, at least not until Tsuji intervened.
He had noticed the change between the two of you – and he wasn’t the only one, either. To your surprise, Shibaman had been experiencing the exact same feelings. He loved you, too, so you started dating to test the waters. It was awkward as hell at first. It felt as if something had changed between you and you hated it.
It took a while, but you finally figured out that things didn’t need to change simply because you were a couple now. It took time, but the two of you soon fell back into the familiar groove you had sat in throughout your friendship and it was amazing.
Shibaman was the love of your life, you realized. All you wanted was to be near him and for him to be happy. You would do anything to make him feel loved, to make him realize how special he was to you.
With his birthday and Halloween coming up soon, you wanted to do something special because, this year, the two of you were more than just friends. It took you a while to figure out what you wanted to do and you weren’t even sure it was a good idea. You couldn’t stop thinking about it, though, so you knew you had to at least try.
You could only hope your efforts wouldn’t be wasted and that he wouldn’t hate it.
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
“Ready to go?” Shibaman leaned toward you from where he sat on the couch, a smile on his lips.
You offered him an apologetic smile. “I actually have plans today…”
The two men exchanged a surprised look before Tsuji questioned, “Don’t tell me you’re cheating on us.”
You laughed, shaking your head as you stood up. “No, never. I do need to get going, though.”
“Where are you going?” Shibaman stood up, reaching for your hand. “I’ll go with you.”
“No, you can’t!” You replied quickly, making his brow furrow. You mentally cursed yourself, scrambling for a believable excuse. “My cousin is coming into town today. I… haven’t seen her in a long time and she’s not really a fan of guys, so…” You mentally cursed again for choosing such a terrible lie.
Whether he believed it or not, he didn’t question it. “Be safe. If you need me, call me.”
“I will, I promise.” You cupped his cheek, pulling him down into a soft kiss that stole his breath away. “I’ll see you later.” You smiled at the two before rushing out of the room, unaware of the worried look the two exchanged.
It took a while for you to reach Housen, mostly because you were paranoid that the boys were following you so you took the road less traveled. The students looked at you strangely when you entered the school, but they knew who you were and had no desire to fight you. Housen and Oya had long since squashed their beef.
“Excuse me,” you called out, tapping a boy on the shoulder. When he turned, you recognized him instantly. “Ah, Sawamura!”
His brow furrowed in confusion. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to see Yuken. Can you take me to him?”
“Yeah, sure,” he motioned for you to follow before starting down the hall. “What do you need to see him for?”
“Ah, well…” you rubbed the back of your neck, offering him a sheepish smile. “It’s a bit personal.”
He hummed, giving you a playful smile. “I hope you’re not going to confess. You know he’s dating Meg.”
You laughed at the thought. “I would never betray her like that. Besides, you know I’m dating Shibaman.”
“Oh, right. I forgot about that. Does he know you’re here?”
You frowned, lowering your gaze to the floor. You felt bad lying to him but you didn’t want to ruin the surprise.
“That’s a no, then,” he replied softly, resting his hand on your shoulder. “Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.”
“Thank you, Sawamura.”
He led you toward a classroom on the first floor, sitting at the back of the school. The Four Heavenly Kings, along with a bunch of seniors, were crowded around the room, watching two students try to take down Jinkawa. The keyword there being try.
“Wait here,” Sawamura told you before moving farther into the room. Yuken was sitting at the back of the room with his girlfriend, the two watching something on his phone. Sawamura leaned down to tell him the situation, pointing over at you.
Yuken met your eyes and you smiled politely, waving your hand at him. Meg leaned to the side to see around the large boys standing between the two of you, a grin on her lips as she waved at you.
You waved back before forming a heart with your hearts. She pretended to catch it, holding it against her chest before both of you started laughing. Yuken shook his head, pressing a kiss to her cheek before standing up and approaching you.
“What can I do for you?” he inquired, a charming smile on his lips.
You glanced at the group of men gathered in the center of the room. Most of them were focused on the fight, but a few were sending you curious looks. “Can we talk somewhere more… private?”
He quirked a brow, glancing at the other boys before nodding. “Sure. Follow me.”
You followed him outside, taking a deep breath of the cool autumn air. “I need your help.”
“My help? Shouldn’t you be asking Oya?”
“This isn’t a problem they can help with,” you frowned, glancing around to ensure you were alone. “Is it true that you know how to crochet?”
Yuken scowled, a hand on his hip. “I told Meg not to tell anyone that.”
“So, it’s true then?” You gave him a hopeful look and he nodded. “Please teach me!”
He hummed curiously, folding his arms over his chest. “I expect diligence. No slacking off and no excuses.”
“I understand. I promise to be a good student!”
Yuken considered this for a moment before nodding. “Alright. Give me your number so I can text you when I get everything set up.”
“Thank you so much,” you grinned.
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
For the next two months, you visited Yuken every few days to learn how to crochet and begin working on the sweater you wanted to make for Shibaman. You chose the softest yarn you could find, using black as the base color. It took a while for you to decide between cats and pumpkins, but you finally chose both.
In the center of the sweater would be a jack-o-lantern with a cat leaning the upper half of its body on top of it. You also planned to add a witch’s hat. You could clearly see the design in your head, but it was much harder to bring to life than you had anticipated.
“Damn it,” you cursed, scowling down at the design before you. The jack-o-lantern was misshapen despite having redone it about twenty times. If you couldn’t even get a pumpkin right, how in the hell were you going to get the cat done? You were getting frustrated, especially since his birthday was quickly approaching.
“Don’t get frustrated,” scolded Yuken, peering at you over his glasses. “It’ll only make the stitching look worse.”
“I know,” you muttered, taking a deep breath to try and calm yourself. You carefully undid the stitch before trying again, slower this time, but it still came out looking funky. “Ugh! Why is this so damn hard?!”
“I did warn you that this pattern wasn’t beginner-friendly,” he tutted, sitting back in his chair as he worked on a pair of mittens for his girlfriend. Unlike your creation, his was pristine and well crafted, clearly made by a professional.
“Maybe I should have hired you to make one instead of teach me,” you sighed, sliding down in your seat.
“You’d regret it.”
“Huh?”
“You chose to learn how to crochet because you wanted to make something for the person you love, right?” He quirked a brow at you. “You wanted to craft something with your own hands, your own heart, to show him how much he means to you. That is the soul of crocheting – making things with love for the people you care about most. The feeling simply doesn’t transfer if someone else makes it.”
You frowned at the sweater in your hands, taking in his words. “You’re right, but… it looks god awful, he’s going to hate it. What was I thinking? Shibaman is into fashion and hip-hop, why the hell would he want a crocheted Halloween sweater? I’m so stupid!” You groaned, hanging your head.
Yuken scoffed, sending you an offended look. “If he’s not grateful for your hard work, then the problem lies with him, not you. Taking the time to crochet something for someone is the ultimate form of love and respect! And if he disrespects that, I’ll kick his ass myself!”
“You’re really passionate about this, huh…”
“Everyone needs something to be passionate about.”
“I thought that was fighting.”
He clicked his tongue. “Other than fighting. Come on, you need a break before you ruin the yarn.”
You set the sweater carefully in its box, closing the lid before following the male away from Housen and toward the local café to grab some lunch. The woman at the counter greeted him cheerfully, so you assumed he came here often.
Yuken sat down across from you, folding his hands on the table. “Tell me honestly, why did you choose to crochet a sweater for him? There are plenty of gift options that may be more… suited to his tastes.”
“Why?” You frowned at the table, scratching your cheek in thought. “As soon as I thought of the idea, it just felt… right, I guess. This is the first time we’re celebrating his birthday and Halloween as a couple, so I really want it to be special. I wanted to make him something myself because…”
“It feels more personal?” He guessed, quirking a brow.
“Yes.”
“The fact that you chose crochet over all other art forms tells me that you understand the craft at its base level. As long as you understand that, then no matter what you craft, no matter how imperfect it may be, it will be perfect in the eyes of the one receiving it.”
You didn’t feel entirely convinced. “Are you sure?”
“Trust me.”
“You’re the crochet expert, I guess.”
“Just… don’t go around telling people that, alright?”
“Sure, sure.”
While the two of you continued talking, Shibaman and Tsuji just so happened to be passing by. He wasn’t sure what possessed him to glance over, but his eyes fell on you immediately, widening in surprise. You had told him you were going to help your cousin get settled into her new apartment outside of Sword, yet there you were, sitting in a cafe with Housen’s Odajima.
Tsuji paused when he realized the taller male had stopped walking. He followed the male’s gaze, removing his glasses with a frown. “They are definitely not cousins.”
Shibaman frowned, feeling frustration and pain settle in his gut. Though he wasn’t fond of the idea of you meeting up with other schools, that isn’t what bothered him. Why had you lied to him about it? Why weren’t you honest with him?
Tsuji glanced at him, nudging his arm. “Don’t jump to conclusions. We should confront -”
“No,” Shibaman shook his head, beginning to walk away.
“No?” Tsuji quickly followed him, brow furrowed. “Don’t you want the truth?”
“Of course I do,” he muttered, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He didn’t want to demand answers from you, though. He wanted you to come clean on your own. “Don’t say anything about this.”
Tsuji had an idea of what his best friend was thinking, though he wasn’t entirely sure he agreed. “Fine, I won’t say anything,” he sighed, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
“Baby,” called Shibaman, slipping his hand into yours as he leaned closer to you. “Do you want to go see a movie?”
Tsuji glanced up from the magazine he was reading. “My uncle just recently started working at the theater. He can get us in for free.”
“Oh, uh…” you rubbed the back of your neck with a frown. “I’d like to, but…”
“You have to see your cousin,” guessed Shibaman, his jaw tensing as he turned his gaze toward the wall.
You could feel how tense his body was and you didn’t notice the way he tried to subtly shift away from you. Guilt pooled inside your gut. “I’m sorry…”
He nearly asked if you really were sorry, but he bit back the question, pulling his hand free as he stood up. “It’s fine.”
You weren’t dumb. You knew this man like the back of your hand and you knew it very much was not fine. He wasn’t the type to speak his mind, though, and preferred to bottle things up until he simply couldn’t any longer. It was obvious that he was getting fed up with your cousin and you constantly ditching them.
Tsuji stood up to follow but paused when you called out his name. He quirked a brow at you but you could tell his usual friendliness toward you was gone. He didn’t like it when his brother was upset.
You quickly shut the door in case Shibaman was still close by and you lowered your voice. “I know you’re mad at me -”
“That’s an understatement,” he scoffed, having to bite his tongue to stop from mentioning the cafe.
You chewed on your lip, having an internal debate with yourself about whether or not to tell him. “If I tell you something, you have to promise not to tell Shibaman.”
“I can’t promise that.” He folded his arms over his chest, eyes narrowed from behind his colored glasses. “If you’re hiding something from him, he deserves to know.”
“And he will,” you promised him. “Just… I need a bit more time.”
“Time for what?”
You glanced at the door before leaning toward him. “I’m working on something for his birthday. It’s… taking longer than I thought it would. I didn’t want to lie but I want it to be a surprise.”
Tsuji felt surprised by this information. Why hadn’t he considered that you might be planning something? He felt a bit dumb for not thinking of it sooner, but he also felt a bit hurt that you hadn’t confided in him sooner. “You should have told me.”
“You’re right, I’m sorry…”
He sighed deeply, bringing his hand to his forehead. “I’ll see what I can do, but you better hurry up. He knows something’s up and he’s getting impatient.”
“I know…”
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
“Come on, you got this!” cheered Meg, staring at you with a grin.
“Just a little bit more,” encouraged Yuken with a nod, leaning toward you.
“Hurry up, you’re so close!”
“No, don’t hurry up! Don’t rush it now!”
You looked up from the sweater with a scowl, sitting back when you realized just how close the two of them were to your face. “Can you two give me some space?”
“Oh, are you having performance anxiety?” snickered Meg as she sat back down.
You scoffed, muttering under your breath, “Anyone would with you two breathing down their neck.”
“Hey, we’re just trying to help.” Yuken sat down as well, arms folded over his chest. He was watching you intently, his shoulders tense as he watched the way you were stitching the last bit of the sweater.
Meg noticed this and laughed, resting her hand on his arm. “I think you’re more tense and you’re not even the one making it.”
“Of course I am! This is the creation of my first student.”
“Your first student?” she grinned, quirking a brow. “Does that mean you’re gonna take on more?”
Yuken said nothing, though he’d be lying if he said the idea hadn’t crossed his mind. He enjoyed teaching you more than he thought he would, despite how frustrating you could be at times.
“Yuken’s Crochet studio,” you snickered, glancing at him. “Got a nice ring to it.”
“Focus,” he scolded, refusing to admit that he did like the sound of it.
“Alright, keep your panties on.” You did as he instructed, focusing on the last few stitches. A few tense moments of silence ticked by. “There… it’s done.” You stood up, holding up the completed sweater.
It was far from perfect, the cat looking a bit derpy and the pumpkin still misshapen, but it had its own unique charm to it. It was one of a kind, made with all the love you held in your heart for Shibaman. That made up for the imperfections.
“What do you think?” you questioned nervously.
“It’s super cute,” smiled Meg. “He’s going to love it!”
Yuken nodded, giving you a proud look. “I have to say, I wasn’t confident that you would stick with it until the end.”
“Gee, thanks.”
“But you did and I’m proud of you.”
You chuckled, feeling happy at the praise. “Thank you, Yuken-sensei.”
Yuken put his hands together in front of him and bowed, deepening his voice. “Now, go out into the world, my pupil.”
Meg snorted. “What voice is that supposed to be?”
“Yoda.”
“That wasn’t even close.”
“I tried my best,” he pouted, pulling her into his arms.
You carefully folded the sweater before placing it in the box and securing it with an orange ribbon. “His birthday is tomorrow… wish me luck.”
“You got this,” Meg smiled, offering you a thumbs up. “And if he doesn’t appreciate it, Yuken will kick his ass.”
Yuken nodded, pushing up his glasses. “I won’t stand for anyone disrespecting such a sacred art.”
“Thanks, guys.” You offered them a bow and a grateful smile before scooping up the box and heading home.
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
You couldn’t remember the last time you had felt this nervous, your heart racing within your chest. You were honestly tempted to just drop the gift off and run away, not wanting to see his reaction, but you knew you couldn’t do that. It was his birthday, after all, and you wanted to make up for avoiding him lately.
Taking a deep breath, you knocked on the door of his house. His older sister was the one who answered, looking tired. “He left already.”
“Eh?” your brow furrowed. He had always waited for you to arrive before heading to school so it was strange that he had gone ahead of you. “O-Oh, um… thank you.”
“Oi,” she called out, eyes narrowed at you. “He’s been moping around lately. If I find out you’re the reason, I’m gonna kick your ass.” And then she slammed the door in your face.
You scowled in frustration, though you weren’t sure if it was more toward her or yourself. You knew you were the cause and it pissed you off despite having done it with good intentions. Surely he would forgive you… right?
Holding the box to your chest, you rushed toward Oya high, keeping an eye open for the pair as you went. You entered the broadcast room with a smile, expecting to see your boyfriend sitting on the couch, listening to music. It was Todoroki who sat on the couch, though, reading one of his books.
Tsuji stood up when you entered, a frown on his lips. “He had already left when I got to his house this morning. I have no idea where he is.”
“Oh,” you frowned, chewing on your bottom lip. You thought about it for a moment before carefully setting the box beside Todoroki. “Can you make sure he gets this please?”
“Of course,” Tsuji offered you a smile, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. It did little to help, though.
“Thank you.” You offered him a bow before turning and leaving the room. Without Shibaman there, it felt pointless to stay at school so you decided to just leave.
Rather than go home, you chose to go for a walk around town to clear your head. The wind was chilly, making you retreat farther into the jacket you were wearing. It had originally belonged to Shibaman so it was quite large on you and it still faintly smelled of him.
A light misty rain started to fall from the cloudy sky, feeling cold against your face but you didn’t mind. The rain was peaceful and helped you relax whenever you felt stressed. It wasn’t heavy rain, anyway, so the likelihood of you catching a cold from it was slim.
Despite how peaceful and quiet the world around you felt, you couldn’t stop thinking about Shibaman. Where was he? Was he okay? Was he mad at you? Or was he just hurt by your lies? You wished you could find him and explain everything, but you knew he didn’t want to be found. He wanted to be alone so he could sort out his own feelings.
That was fine with you, you just wished it hadn’t fallen on his birthday. Today was supposed to be special for him, to be free of worry or want. You had royally screwed that up, though.
With a sigh, you plopped down on the wooden bench inside the makeshift park. Honestly, you weren’t even sure it met the qualifications to be considered a park because it was just a small strip of grass with trees planted at each corner. A sad-looking swing set sat in the middle, the metal rusted and worn.
You doubted it was safe to use, though there were few things within Sword that were. The city’s entire aesthetic was danger.
You slid down on the bench as thunder rumbled softly overhead, leaning your head back so you could stare up at the sky. The tree to your left was completely bare, its leaves scattered across the ground like discarded newspapers. The tree on your right, though, was still clinging to a few of them, as if desperate to not let go.
The wind picked up and they finally broke free, dancing gently through the air as they made their way to the earth below. It was such a simple thing, but it brought a smile to your lips.
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
You stifled a yawn as you approached your apartment, reaching into the pocket of the jacket for your keys. You hadn’t intended to spend the day at the park but time seemed to pass in the blink of an eye and, before you knew it, the sun was setting.
To your surprise, Shibaman was pacing back and forth outside the building, running a hand through his red hair repeatedly. He looked distressed which alarmed you.
“Shibaman? What’s-“
As soon as he heard your voice, his head snapped up. In just a couple long strides, he reached you, throwing his arms around you until you were buried in the warmth of his chest. The smell of pine and cologne filled your nostrils and you smiled, fingers curling around the black t-shirt he was wearing.
“Where have you been?” He huffed, trying to control the light tremble of his voice. “I’ve been worried sick!”
You frowned, pulling back so you could see his face. “You’re the one who disappeared. You had already left the house by the time I got there and you weren’t at school, either.”
“My sister made me go pick up some food from the convenience store,” he scowled, clearly still annoyed by this. “I told her I was waiting for you but she wouldn’t stop bitching about it. When I got back, she told me you had stopped by.”
Thinking about it, it did make sense. She’s never liked you, even when you were just his friend, claiming that you were a bad influence on him. When you started dating, she didn’t try to hide the fact that she thought you weren’t good enough for her baby brother.
“When I got to school, Tsuji said you were looking for me then you left. I looked everywhere for you.” He cupped your face, brows punched with worry. “I thought… I thought something happened.”
“I’m sorry for worrying you, love,” you told him softly, resting your hand over his. “Why didn’t you call me?”
“I did. Many times!”
“You did?” Your own brow furrowed in confusion as you reached for your phone only to realize it wasn’t there. You had forgotten it this morning in your excitement to get to Shibaman’s house. You offered him a sheepish, embarrassed smile. “I, uh… I forgot my phone.”
Shibaman scoffed in disbelief, lowering his head until his forehead met your shoulder. The tension was slowly leaving him now that you were safe and sound in front of him.
“I’m sorry for worrying you,” you told him softly, running your fingers through his hair. “And on your birthday, too.”
He chuckled, arms encircling your waist so he could bring you closer, bringing his forehead down to meet yours. “You’re safe, that’s all I need.”
You couldn’t hold back your smile, pressing your lips to his. “Stay with me tonight?”
He hummed, claiming your lips again. “Of course.”
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
“Baby, wake up.” Shibaman pressed a kiss beneath your ear, arms wrapped protectively around your waist.
“Five more minutes,” you mumbled tiredly, leaning into the warmth his body offered.
He chuckled, turning you over so you were on your back looking up at him. “You said that five minutes ago.”
“Did I?” Your brow furrowed. “That doesn’t sound like me.”
“I’m gonna stop by my place to grab something,” he told you softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “I’ll meet you at school, okay?”
“Wait, I’ll go with you.” You forced yourself up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
“I’d rather keep you away from my sister,” he chuckled. “I’ll see you soon.”
“Be careful.”
“I will.” He put his finger beneath your chin, leaning down to press a soft, slow kiss to your lips. “I love you.”
“Love you, too.” You watched as he left the room, listening to his footsteps fade before the front door opened and closed behind him. Despite wanting to go back to sleep, you forced yourself out of bed and got ready for the day.
It was much colder out today than it was yesterday, the sky covered by light grey clouds that made it seem more like the afternoon than early morning. You didn’t mind it, though. The cold was a welcome change from the warm weather of summer and spring, plus it gave you an excuse to steal more of your boyfriend’s jackets.
When you got to school, you were surprised to find the boys gathered in the courtyard, snickering and laughing. Curious, you made your way through the crowd, eyes widening at what you saw.
Shibaman was leaning against the building, arms folded over his chest and eyes closed. There was a slight furrow to his brow as he tried to ignore the teasing he was receiving. The reason for this teasing? He was wearing the sweater you had crocheted him.
It fit him perfectly, showing off his toned body while still being comfortable to wear. It was warm, too, easily blocking the cold wind. When you looked at the design, it felt childish to you and you felt guilty for not just making him a regular, solid sweater.
“Did you get that from your granny?” Teased one of the older boys before bursting out laughing, his friends following suit.
Shibaman opened his eyes, narrowing them at the male.
You swallowed down the nerves and embarrassment you felt, stepping forward. “I made it…”
“You did?” snorted the male. “No wonder it looks like trash -“
A fist slammed into his face, sending him flying back into the crowd with a cry. Shibaman straightened up, fire in his eyes. “Don’t you ever say that shit again or I’ll kill you.”
The crowd grew tense, their previous jolly demeanors changing to one of fear. It was easy to laugh at him and not take him seriously when he was wearing that sweater, but it didn’t change anything about how strong he was or how protective of you he was.
“I’m sorry,” you muttered, lowering your head. “I didn’t consider how Oya would react. You don’t have to wear it.”
He scoffed, resting his large hand atop your head. “Of course, I’m gonna wear it. You spent months working on this, didn’t you?”
You nodded, tugging lightly at the material. “It was my first time crocheting. Yuken did his best to teach me, but… it could have been better.”
Realization flashed across his face as he remembered seeing you at the café with said male. Everything made sense now and his heart was filled with warmth and love for you. “I love it.”
“Really?” You sent him a skeptical look. “You’re not just saying that?”
“I wouldn’t lie to you. If I didn’t like it, I’d be honest.” As badly as he wanted to kiss you, he couldn’t bring himself to do so with the crowd that was still gathered in the courtyard. PDA was not something he enjoyed. “I love this sweater and I love you.”
You searched his eyes for any hint of a lie but there was none. “You really like it?”
“I do. Thank you, baby.”
Your eyes lit up, happiness filling you. “You’re welcome!”

Love in the Air - Dick Grayson x Reader
Tumblr media
Requested by Anon -  Hi there! Do you think you could please do a dick Grayson x f!reader where it’s the first time someone has ever given her Valentine’s Day gifts and he goes all out and asks her to be his valentine? Thank you!
Author’s Note - This is very late and took off into something else...sorry.
***
“Wait a minute, you’ve never celebrated Valentine’s Day?!” Steph shouted from across the living room. Dick sat up straighter. He glanced over from his spot at the chessboard. Tim was soundly beating him, so Dick welcomed any distraction. It was just a perk that it was about you.
“It wasn’t a big deal where I grew up,” you said, taking a sip from your mug. You and Barbara were sitting on the couch while Steph and Cass sat on the floor. Bruce invited everyone over for a family dinner. Dick had been surprised to see you, but he expected Barbara had invited you. “I don’t really see the appeal anyway.”
Steph’s jaw hung open. “Your turn, Dick,” Tim said, smirking slightly. Dick sighed, focusing back on the game only to move a pawn to another dead end. Tim’s smirk got wider at the sight.
“Just end me swiftly,” Dick chuckled, turning to focus back on you.
“Funny that you haven’t celebrated. Didn’t you date Wally West in high school? He didn’t do anything for Valentine’s Day?” Barbara laughed, leaning back in her chair.
Dick blushed. He remembered the jealousy at seeing you with Wally. One of his best kept secrets was how he was happy when you two broke up.
“No, he’s fast, but slow brained.” You shook your head. “He always forgot, but I didn’t really care. Besides, he always remembered my birthday. Still does actually.” You laughed. “He brings me flowers.”
Dick frowned, the jealousy crawled up inside him again. Tim nudged Dick’s arm. “Checkmate.”
“You’re too smart for me, Timmy.” Dick sighed, smiling when Tim flinched at the praise.
Tim blushed, waving his hand. “You’re distracted.” He looked at you then back at Dick. Now it was Dick’s turn to blush.
“Quiet down.” Dick swallowed hard before looking back at you. Luckily, the girls were too into their conversation to notice.
“I’m going to get more tea. Anyone want refills?” You offered, getting to your feet.
Dick got to his feet. “Me.” He smiled, handing you his cup. You smiled back at him before leaving the room.
Steph scoffed. “Okay, I got what you wanted.” She stretched her arms.
Dick raised an eyebrow. “You didn’t have to be so direct.” He quickly looked back at the door. “Lower your voice.”
“In all fairness, you stand a chance. (Y/N) has told me in confidence that she thinks you’re hot,” Barbara said, laughing when Dick’s jaw dropped.
“Not so loud.” Dick ran a hand through his hair. His heart fluttered. You thought he was hot? A smirk pulled at his lips. “Did she really say that?”
Barbara nodded. Cass stood up and helped Tim clean up the chessboard. “What about Wally West? Are you worried about him?” Cass asked softly, studying Dick carefully. “You are jealous of him.”
Dick pursed his lips. “I’m not worried.” He chuckled half heartedly, looking at the door again. “They broke up years ago. They’re just friends.” Dick tensed at Cass’ unconvinced look. “Don’t look at me like that. They’re not a thing.”
Cass hummed before starting another game with Tim. Dick sighed. You came back in. “Here you go,” you said, handing Dick his cup.
Dick grinned. “Thank you.” He saw a charm bracelet on your wrist. “When did you get that?”
“Oh.” You turned your wrist to let him get a better look. “I’ve had this since I was little. My parents gave me charms for every milestone. I buy myself one from time to time too.” You shrugged. “I don’t wear it unless I know I’m not going to have to be (Y/S/N).”
Dick touched a charm of a vial. “What’s this one from?”
“Oh Wally gave me that.” You laughed. “After taking me to my first science fair.”
Dick’s heart dropped to his feet. “Aww.” He back away, sipping his tea. “That’s cool.”
You tilted your head before moving to sit back down with Barbara. Barbara got you into conversation, distracting you helpfully. Dick swallowed hard. Steph stood up, casually walking over to Dick.
“Just talk to Wally to ease your doubts. I noticed she has a lot of room on that bracelet and never celebrated a Valentine’s Day,” she whispered softly, bumping him with her hip. “Just go for it. Otherwise, why did you pay me to get you info?”
Dick snorted. He sipped his tea, listening in on your conversation while watching Cass destroy Tim at chess. “Who says I was going to pay you?” He laughed when Steph gasped, slapping his arm before going on a rant about his trickery.
***
Dick relaxed in his living room. He checked his phone, frowning at the time. “Wow, a minute late...a new record,” he said to himself. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through the apartment.
“I’m not late. Your phone is fast.” Wally appeared next to Dick with a case of beer and three bags of fast food. “Honestly, I got caught up with a hit and run I found on the way here.” He flopped onto the couch with a groan.
“I have four pizzas in the oven, man. You didn’t have to bring food.” Dick laughed as Wally dug into the food. He paused long enough to hand Dick a beer.
“Hey, this is my appetizer.” Wally grinned with his mouth full.
Dick shook his head, rolling his eyes. He opened his beer and took a long sip. It was cheap beer, then again Wally couldn’t afford much with his appetite. Dick reminded himself to slip some money into Wally’s bank account again. Another “tax refund”.
“So how is everything?” Dick smiled, waiting for Wally to take a breath.
“Good. Busy as usual. You?” Wally slowed down, munching on a fry. “How’s the dating scene?”
Dick swallowed past the lump that formed in his throat. “Well, I kinda wanted to talk to you about that.”
Wally’s eyes widened, dropping his fry. “Dude, I love you, but not that way.” He blushed as red as his hair.
“What?” Dick choked. He almost dropped his beer. “No! I’m not asking you out, Walls. You forget I have seen you eat.”
Wally scoffed. “Rude. I’m a catch.” He looked down at his fallen fry before reaching down to pick it up and eat it.
Dick wrinkled his nose, guffawing. “Right, a catch. You nerd.” He shoved at Wally’s arm. Wally chuckled himself. “I can’t believe you were able to date (Y/N) for two years.”
“In high school.” Wally took out another burger. “I don’t think that counts as an achievement.”
“She talks about you a lot.” Dick ran a hand over his face. Part of him was losing his nerve. Could he survive being the reason you and Wally got back together? His chest wanted to burst at the thought.
Wally stopped, mouth open with burger halfway in. He looked at Dick carefully before setting his burger down. “Are you acting on your crush on (Y/N) finally? Dude, it’s been years.”
Dick’s heart skipped a beat. “What?! You knew?!”
“Dick, I’m your best friend.” Wally rolled his eyes, leaning back with his hands behind his head. “Come on. I knew you liked (Y/N) from the start, but I liked her too.” Wally pursed his lips. “But after we broke up, I thought you would make your move, but I guess you were too into Kori at the time.”
Dick bit his lip, looking out the window at the skyline. It was quiet for mid afternoon. “I guess I was.”
“Well, go for it. (Y/N) always thought you were hot even during the disco years.” Wally snorted, clapping a hand on Dick’s shoulder. “And that means something, I don’t even think Kori was a fan of that suit.”
“Shut up.” Dick let a smile tug at his lips. “She mentioned how you still give her flowers on her birthday?”
Wally picked up his burger. “And I always sing you happy birthday on yours. I do stuff for my friends on their birthdays as most people do.” He took a big bite. Dick picked up his beer, sipping at it as he thought. He remembered you checking him out, but he never thought much of it at the time.
“And you really didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day with her?” Dick asked after a long moment. A cloudy plan slowly formed in his mind.
Wally blushed, finishing his burger and licking his fingers. “Oh yeah, I didn’t. Kept forgetting. I was sixteen and dumb.”
“Still dumb.” Dick laughed when Wally pushed him gently. Wally pouted, but Dick’s plan was suddenly becoming clearer.
***
You yawned as you woke to the sound of your phone ringing. “I knew I should have turned that off,” you mumbled, reaching over to grab it. You hit the answer button blindly, keeping your eyes closed. “Hello?” You yawned again.
“(Y/N)? Sorry, is this a bad time?” Dick’s voice sounded shaky and...nervous. You opened your eyes, frowning up at your bedroom ceiling.
“No, it’s okay.” You swallowed hard. “What’s wrong?”
Dick choked. “No, nothing is wrong,” he said quickly. In your mind’s eye, you could see him running his hand through his hair. Signature Dick Grayson move. You almost laughed, sitting up and rubbing your eyes. “Sorry, I realize I don’t normally call you without it being an emergency.”
A real laugh bubbled out of you. “It’s okay, Dick. What’s up?” You looked around your room, noting your vigilante suit was still on the floor. It was dirty. You wrinkled your nose.
“So I...” He cleared his throat. “Bruce got an invitation to try out this new restaurant that opened by Wayne Tower. He doesn’t want to go, but gave it to me and I have a plus one...”
You smiled. “A plus one huh?”
Dick paused. “Yeah, so you want to go? Tonight?”
“I’m game. What time?” You bit your lip. It was strange for Dick to ask you to dinner. The two of you never hung out alone before.
“Six. I’ll pick you up at your place.” Dick’s tone brightened. You heard a bang followed by an ouch. “Stupid ceiling.”
You laughed. “Six o’clock. I’ll see you then.” Hanging up the phone, you shook your head and threw back your covers to start your day.
***
Dick adjusted the collar of his blue button-down shirt in the mirror before turning around. “What do you think? Sexy, but causal?”
“It looks nice,” Tim said. Tim was seated on Dick’s bed, flipping through Dick’s old yearbook while Dick attempted to find something to wear. Dick knew this wasn’t Tim’s thing, but appreciated that he was trying. Tim frowned suddenly. “Wait, do you know what (Y/N) is going to wear? You don’t want to clash.”
“I think I’ll be fine, Timmy.” Dick chuckled, turning back to the mirror.
“Did you order flowers?” Tim asked, going back to the yearbook in his lap.
“Yes, I got her favorites.” Dick turned to go into his closet to search for his dress shoes. He tossed clothes and shoes over his shoulder, making his room a disaster.
Tim hummed, grunting when a shirt landed on top of his head. So you’re nervous?”
“Why would you say that?” Dick found his dress shoes and sat on the floor to put them on. He wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but there was a few butterflies in his stomach. Maybe you didn’t like him that way anymore? It could be too weird for you. After all, you dated Wally. Maybe it would be strange for you?
“Well, you don’t normally throw your clothes around the room or take this long to get dressed or invite me over to check your outfit?” Tim chuckled, yanking the shirt off his head and tossing it on the floor with the rest. “Besides, you should have asked Steph over, she’s better at this sort of thing.”
“Yeah.” Dick snorted, struggling with a knot in his laces. “Steph won’t let me have any peace until I pay her money for her services.”
“I warned you.” Tim pursed his lips, setting the yearbook aside. “If you buy her waffles at some point, she’ll forgive you. Just make sure they are good ones.”
Dick nodded. Tim held up his hand for the shoe. Dick tossed it over. “Thanks Timmy.”
Tim worked at the knot. “What did you do to this thing?” He muttered under his breath.
Dick chuckled, getting up with only one shoe on. “I don’t know. Last time I wore these was...probably when I went undercover at that wedding.”
“That makes sense.” Tim rolled his eyes as he pulled the right lace and undid the knot. He tossed the shoe back to Dick. “You should be leaving soon. There might be traffic.”
“I will.” Dick hopped on one foot to put on his shoe. He grinned, flicking his head to get his hair out of his eyes. “Am I good? Anything else?”
Tim studied him, pursing his lips. “I think you’re good. Don’t forget the flowers...you still have to pick them up.”
“I know.” Dick grabbed his wallet and keys. “Thanks Tim. Help yourself to anything. I’ll be back late.”
“If at all,” Tim mumbled so softly that Dick missed it. Dick swallowed hard, goosebumps from anticipation and nervousness appeared on his skin. He shivered, pushing away his nerves as he flew out the door.
***
You whined, stretching your arm at an awkward angle to try to zip up your dress. It was a beautiful, yet sexy one, but the only problem with it was the zipper. You always needed help with it.
Sighing, you gave up after your arm ached. You put on your charm bracelet. “Oh well. Dick can get it for me.” You stood in front of your mirror, checking yourself. “Good enough.” It crossed your mind earlier that day as you replayed the conversation with Dick that this might be a date. The realization made you spit out your morning coffee.
Of course, the first thing you did was call Wally.
“Hiya, (Y/N). Isn’t this early for you?” Wally answered, chuckling. You heard wind in the background, knowing he was probably patrolling Keystone.
“I think Dick asked me out.” You ripped off the band-aid, wincing when you heard Wally trip and stumble on his end.
He swore softly. “He did? Wow, that was quick. And on Valentine’s Day too.”
“So it is a date?!” You dropped your coffee cup. It shattered, spilling hot coffee all over your feet. “Damn it.” You stared at your feet, feeling the burns as you couldn’t move due to the glass.
A gust of wind ruffled your hair. “Oh dear.” Wally picked you up, zooming you to the bathroom and putting your feet in the bathtub. He turned on the cold water. You hissed, but stayed where you were, trying not to feel too dizzy from suddenly appearing in the bathroom.
“Thanks Walls.” You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Wally sped out of the room only to come back with a fresh cup of coffee. He handed it to you. You smiled, taking a sip.
“I cleaned up your kitchen too.” Wally sat on the edge of the bathtub. “So...you okay knowing it’s a date?” His eyes were wide, waiting. It reminded you of when he first asked you out. He stared at you until you answered. It was the awkwardness minute of your life and the reason you told him no at first.
You took a big sip of coffee. “I mean...sure...but it wouldn’t be weird? For you?” You studied him, waiting for the sign that he was uncomfortable. However, Wally just grinned.
“Nah, I mean.” He ran a hand through his hair. A move he got from Dick. “We both liked you back in the day, but I got to you first. The only thing I beat him at actually.”
You snorted. “Really?” You blinked, thinking back to those days.
Everyone flirted with each other. Teenage exploration and all that. Dick did always seem to watch you and you always made him blush.
“Go for it. See what happens. Dick and you deserve a chance.” Wally kissed your cheek. “Of course, I will have always got you first. Make sure he knows that.”
You punched his arm hard. Wally whined, flinching. “I’m not a piece of meat, West.”
“Nope, you’re not. You’re just the most amazing person in the world and Dick better be good to you or I’ll come after him.” Wally grinned.
You pulled him into a side hug and kissed his cheek. “Thanks Walls.” Wally blushed.
A loud knock from your front door brought you to the here and now. You shook your head, smiling at the thought of Wally’s approval. Taking a deep breath, you made your way to the door and opened it.
Dick flicked his head, getting his hair out of his eyes. A big grin grew on his face at the sight of you. You couldn’t help, but smile back at him, taken back by his sparkling blue eyes. Did they always sparkle like that?
“Hi.” You said after a long moment. Shaking your head, you stepped aside to let him in. It was then you noticed the flowers in his hands. “Are those for me?”
“Yeah.” He handed them to you. His hands shook slightly. You took comfort in the fact he seemed as jittery as you.
“Thank you. I’ll put them in water.” You went into your kitchen.
Dick followed you. He cleared his throat. “Do you need me to zip you up?”
You turned to look at him, almost laughing at the blush on his cheeks. “If you could, thanks. As much as I’m sure the world wants to see my bare back...” You turned back around.
Dick’s fingers tickled your skin as he grabbed the zipper and gently pulled it up. Your skin buzzed at the touch. You threw him a smile over your shoulder and went to grab a vase from the cabinet. Dick stayed where he was, almost transfixed in place.
You filled the vase with water and careful arranged the flowers inside, glad to have something to do with your hands. “Should we get going?” You glanced back at Dick only to find him watching you with an intensity that sent sparks straight to your abdomen.
Dick jumped. “Yeah.” He cleared his throat before painting a charming smile on his face. “You ready?”
You nodded, stepping into your shoes and grabbing your purse. “Ready.” He offered his arm. You took it happily.
***
Dick pulled up to the restaurant. You played with the strap of your purse. The radio played softly, narrowly avoiding awkward silence. You blinked when you saw the red hearts decorating the front window of the restaurant. “Oh, is today Valentine’s Day?” you asked as Dick parked the car. You barely remembered Wally saying it was today.
“It is? Guess I didn’t notice?” He chuckled too quickly. You eyed him, knowing he definitely knew it was Valentine’s Day.
Humming lowly, you started to get out of the car. “Wait,” Dick said, jumping out his side and running over to open your door for you. “My lady.” He bowed slightly and offered his hand. A cheeky smile on his face.
“Nerd.” You laughed, taking his hand and getting out. “But thank you.”
“Wow, first time I’ve been called a nerd.” Dick squeezed your fingers gently. He guided your hand to his arm. “At least by you anyway.”
You let your hand stay on his arm as he led you to the front of the restaurant. “Right, I used to call you killjoy.”
“Hey, I grew up.” Dick chuckled, holding restaurant door open for you.
“You did. Somewhat.” You smirked, his jaw dropped in fake surprise. The restaurant was busy, but had a calming atmosphere.
“Do you have a reservation?” The hostess asked, smiling at your interaction.
Dick cleared his throat. “Yeah, under Grayson.” You raised an eyebrow at him. Dick narrowed his eyes at you. “Dick Grayson.”
“Oh yes, Mr. Grayson. Right this way.” The hostess led the way through the restaurant to a private booth in the back. “Your server will be with you shortly.” She set down the menus and left you and Dick alone.
Dick gestured for you to sit first. You slid into the booth, making yourself comfortable. A small smirk pulled at your lips as Dick hesitated. He glanced between you and the other side. Finally, he chose to sit across from you.
“So...this place is nice,” you said, looking around the restaurant. When you looked past the somewhat tacky Valentine’s Day décor, it was beautiful. You sighed, turning back to Dick to find him watching you with a somewhat dumb expression. “You okay, Dickie?”
“Fine.” He cleared his throat, running a hand over his face. “You’re just...really pretty, (Y/N).”
Your face burned. A giggle slipped out of you. “You don’t look bad yourself.” You winked at him. “So, can I ask why you decided to ask me out now?”
Dick opened his mouth, but the server appeared. You ordered your drink and when Dick failed to speak, you ordered one for him too. The server walked off.
“Thanks.” Dick whispered, clearing his throat. “I haven’t been this speechless since I was a teenager.”
You laughed. “Yeah, I think I remember you being this speechless when you first saw me in a bikini.”
Dick’s face was almost as red as the hearts that decorated the restaurant. “You noticed that, huh?”
You nodded, smiling big. “Yeah, I did. To be fair, Wally was pretty speechless too.” You froze when you saw Dick’s face fall slightly. “Sorry, I shouldn’t mention him.”
“It’s okay. He’s still our friend. Part of your history.” Dick bit his lip. “You know, I wanted to ask you out that day, but Wally beat me to it.”
Your jaw dropped. “Really?” You reached over to take his hand. “I didn’t know.” Now it made sense why Dick left in a hurry after Wally finished the most awkward ‘asking out on a date’ you had ever experienced.
Dick squeezed your fingers. “Although, when I think about it, I’m glad that I didn’t.” He looked up at you. You gasped, taken back by his beautiful blue eyes. “Because I got to ask you out now and we’re both older. We aren’t kids anymore.”
“That’s for sure.” You laughed as the server came back with the drinks. Dick chuckled with you. Both of you ordered your food quickly and the server left you alone.
Dick sipped at his drink. His hand still in yours. “So...”
You blinked at him before giggling. “So...”
He laughed. “I guess I don’t really know what to say now.”
You hummed, letting go of his hand to take a sip of your own drink. “How about we play a game?” You smirked when Dick raised an eyebrow. “Like what’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?”
Dick rubbed his chin. “Orange swirl.” You tilted your head at him. “It was one of the flavors we had back at the Circus. Mom and Dad would let me have one after a successful show. Funny enough, it was the one flavor that didn’t sell as well, so we could get it for free most of the time.” He licked his lips. “Best I’ve ever had.”
You cradled your chin in your hand. “Wow.” You smiled softly. “You know what mine is, of course.”
“I do.” He smiled back at you. “Now do I ask you a question? I assume that’s what we’re doing, right?”
You wiggled your eyebrows. “Ask away.”
Dick sat back in the booth. The two of you slowly learned more about each other as you waited for your food.
***
“You’re joking.” Dick almost spit out his food. He grabbed his napkin and covered his mouth just in case. “They didn’t.”
“They did.” You giggled, taking a sip of your drink. “Roy and Donna are a thing. Walked in on them myself.” You shivered. “A sight I never wanted to see.”
Dick snorted, putting his napkin down. “Roy’s ass isn’t a pretty sight. I had to share a locker room with him.” He smiled when you looked away. His heart fluttered. He had to pinch himself to make sure he was really here with you.
The food was good. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, soft music in the background, not too loud, but not too soft either. Dick knew he’d have to leave the place a nice review.
“I never asked you about your work. How is the police station?” You looked back at Dick. Dick’s heart skipped a beat.
“Oh, it’s okay. Lots of corruption. I’m making some headway, but it’s going to take a while.” He let his eyes drop to your chest before forcing them back to your eyes. You didn’t seem to notice. “I found some allies though. What about you? How’s the retail business?”
You rolled your eyes. “Dick, I’m an art dealer. I wouldn’t call that retail, but sure, it’s good. Sold a painting by a newcomer for four million to a well-known mobster.” Dick’s eyes widened in concern. You waved your hand. “It’s taken care of.” You winked. Dick sighed in relief.
“Good.” Dick went back to his food. “Do you enjoy being an art dealer?”
“It has it’s good days and bad days, but I like it. Being around artwork is a joy for me.” You took the last bite from your plate. “Thank you for bringing me here. This might become my new favorite restaurant.”
A smile pulled at Dick’s lips. “I’ll remember to take you here more often then.”
You grinned back. “You better.” Slowly, you slid out of the booth. “I’ll be right back.”
Dick nodded, watching you head over toward the restrooms. He reached down to pull his phone out of his pocket. There were several encouraging text messages from Tim, Steph, Cass, and Barbara. Even Bruce sent a good luck text. Dick smiled, sending them all a thumbs up.
He scrolled through to find one message from Wally. ‘I have it on good authority that your date is going well.’
Dick frowned. He looked around the restaurant, but didn't see anyone he knew. ‘Who’s authority?’
‘The most important one.' Dick swallowed hard, confused yet delighted at the same time. He looked back up suddenly enough to give himself whiplash. You returned from the restroom.
“What happened? A crisis or is everyone checking in on you to make sure I haven’t sunk my teeth into you yet?” you teased, taking your seat and sipping your drink again.
Several naughty images played through Dick’s mind. He let out a slow breath, trying to calm himself down. “No, more like cheering me on.”
You looked slightly surprised. “Really? Wow.” You giggled softly, looking around the restaurant for a moment. Dick admired how lovely you looked. The lighting in the restaurant highlighted you just right. “So, did you want to get out of here? There’s something I wanted to show you.”
Dick nodded. “Yeah, sure.” He waved for the server, wondering what you wanted to show him.
***
You threw a smile back at Dick. Dick smiled back, despite the dark hallway you were leading him down. “Where are we going?”
“My workshop.” You unlocked the door at the end and pushed it open. Dick followed, stepping inside just as you flicked on the light. He gasped at the sight.
The room itself was bare bones, but artwork was all over the place. Some on the walls, others leaning against other canvases on the floor. A few were covered up with sheets. In the center of the room was a desk and two chairs along with a cheery fuzzy rug.
“So this is where you work? I knew it was around this part of town, but wow.” Dick crossed his arms, studying a piece on the wall. It looked like it was an abstract Batman.
You hummed, walking to the other side of the room. “This is what I wanted to show you.” You picked up one of the covered canvases and walked over to an easel. Propping it up, you turned to look at him. “You can keep this one if you like it.” You pulled off the sheet.
At first, it didn’t register with Dick. Just colors and shapes. However, he tilted his head and it clicked. “It’s a trapeze. Wait a minute, that’s...that’s our colors. My parents’ colors.”
You nodded, leaning gently into Dick’s side. Your hand rubbed his back, grounding him to the here and now. “There’s a new artist, he’s a retired hockey player who went into painting. Anyway, he must have seen one of your parents’ shows and painted this one in their honor.”
Dick could see the painting come to life. He knew the routine by heart. His father’s confident laugh filled his ears. His mother’s giggles followed. “How did he remember it so well?”
“I guess he’s like Tim. The one performance stuck in his head.” You leaned forward to study Dick. Dick swallowed hard, meeting your eye. You smiled. “It took me a while to find it. I had to give up two Damien Hirst paintings to get the guy to sell it to me.”
“Did you get this for me?” Dick looked back at the painting. He blinked back the tears threatening to fall. It saddened him, yet filled him with pride at the same time. His parents would be happy to know that people still loved their performances to this day.
You rested your head against his shoulder. Dick reached for your hand, squeezing it tightly. “I did,” you whispered. “I was going to save it for your birthday, but...well, then you asked me out on Valentine’s Day.”
“Thank you.” His shoulder felt wet. He peeked to find you with tears on your cheeks. A laugh slipped out of him. “I feel so dumb. All I got you was a charm for your bracelet.”
“You did?!” You quickly wiped your face with your free hand. Dick dug into his pocket, pulling out a small wrapped jewelry box.
He handed it to you, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek. “You know if I gave this to you at the restaurant, everyone would have thought I was proposing.”
You snorted. “I wouldn’t put it past you.” You opened the box, smiling at the beautiful delicate heart charm inside.
Dick chuckled. “Right. I would propose on the first date just to see what the others would say.” He shook his head, taking the charm out and carefully putting it on your bracelet. “Bruce would have a heart attack. Tim would spit out his coffee. Steph just might drop dead.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Well, in that case, I give you permission to tell them I said yes.” You shook your bracelet, holding it up to the light. The charm shined.
Dick grinned, looking back at the painting. “I still can’t believe this. It’s almost from my memory. I used to stand on the platform, watching the show from above, waiting for my chance to join.” He sighed as he felt you take his hand again. “Thank you so much.”
“Thank you for the charm. My first Valentine’s Day.” You squeezed his hand gently. “I’ll get this framed for you before you take it.”
Dick looked back at you. You met his eye after a moment. Slowly, you sat down on the rug, pulling Dick to sit down beside you. You kissed the corner of his mouth. “Wow,” Dick hummed, smirking at the kiss. You turned back to the painting, a hint of a blush on your cheeks. Dick chuckled. He leaned back on his hands and studied the painting along with you.
After a long while, Dick’s butt started to hurt. He fidgeted. You giggled and looked over at him. “You want to get out of here?”
“Yeah, let’s do something fun.” Dick grinned. You got to your feet and held out your hand. Dick took it, eager to follow you anywhere.
***
“Are you sure about this?” Dick asked, watching you walk your way past the line to get into the club.
“You said you wanted to get out for some fun and this is fun. For you anyway.” You glanced back at him with a wink. Dick swallowed hard when you stopped to talk to the bouncer. It looked like you knew the bouncer and soon you were gesturing for Dick to follow you in.
The club was decked out in red and white decorations. Music was loud with a good beat. Dance floor wild and crazy. Dick reached out to take your hand as you led him through the madness to the bar.
“Yo, Mickey. You got your specials still?” you asked, catching one of the bartenders as he walked by. Dick admitted he was a bit shocked that you seemed comfortable in this scene. Maybe there was a lot he didn’t know about you? He wondered if Wally knew you were into the club scene.
“For you, babe. Anything.” Mickey winked, turning to fix up two drinks. Dick watched in slight awe.
“I didn’t know you like clubs,” Dick shouted in your ear, squeezing your hand.
You smiled. “Not all. Just this one.” You slipped Mickey a twenty once he laid the tropical-looking drinks before you. You picked up yours, nodding for Dick to do the same and started to lead him back through the crowd.
Dick’s curiosity grew as you led him through the stage door and down a flight of stairs. “Please tell me this isn’t a sex dungeon or something?” Dick blushed. “Not that I’d mind, but I don’t think that’s a first date thing.”
You laughed, sipping your drink as you rolled your eyes at him. “Settle down, Dickie. I’m not going to take your innocence.” You pushed open the door.
Dick lost his breath as you reveal a huge, colorfully lit room with a trapeze set in the center. “How?” He looked at the setup. It was professionally done. You two were the only ones in the room.
“I’m honestly surprised you didn’t know about this. This used to be a strip club and they had a trapeze act, but when the new owners made things more all-ages friendly, they left this space open for rent.” You smirked, eyeing Dick from over your drink. Your fingers wiggled in his hand. “But I’m glad I could surprise you with this.” You gestured to his drink. “Take a sip.”
Dick sipped it. His eyes widened at the orange, vanilla taste. “Wow, it’s almost like orange swirl.”
You smiled. “Glad you like it. Mickey always makes the best.”
Dick took another sip. “You know I thought I was going to spoil you, not the other way around.” He pulled away from you to check out the trapeze set.
You hummed, following him. “Well, who says you’re not spoiling me? You’re driving me around the city, paid for dinner, got me a pretty charm, and now you’re going to take me flying.” Dick’s head snapped to look at you. “Aren’t you?” You pouted.
“Anything for you, princess.” Dick grinned, setting his drink down on the table. He walked over to test the ropes. Feeling your gaze on him, Dick’s chest swelled with pride.
***
You took a seat and watched him prep the trapeze. It was a nice sight. You licked your lips, admiring the view as Dick bent down to pick up a fallen cord.
Of course, you would never admit how many strings you pulled to set this up for him. Honestly, you were amazed how fast things moved with one call from the bathroom at the restaurant.
You checked your phone. There was a text from Wally. ‘Having fun? I heard about the favor you called in.’
‘From Barbara, I’m sure. You snoop.’ You smiled and watched Dick again. He was hanging off one of the ropes, testing it’s durability. ‘It’s going well.’
‘Good. I’m happy for you both.’  You tilted your head, hoping Wally was as okay with this as he acted earlier. He and Dick always had a bit of a rivalry.
“You ready?” Dick’s voice brought you away from your phone.
“Of course.” You kicked off your shoes, leaving your phone on the table along with your drink. Dick’s shoes and shirt were off. You let your eyes linger before going back to his face.
A smirk played on Dick’s lips. “Like what you see?”
You kissed his cheek. “What do you think?” He chuckled, blushing. Stepping back, he let you climb the ladder first before following. You knew he probably looked up your dress, but you found you didn’t mind.
At the top, your blood raced. Dick wrapped his arm around your waist once he joined you. “It’s like swinging through the city,” Dick said, taking the flyer bar out of it’s holder.
“Just more muscle and coordination. No grapple gun to correct the mistakes.” You nodded, holding onto Dick tight. A lump formed in your throat. Truth be told, you mostly drove on your motorcycle when you went on patrol.
He chuckled. “You want to swing together first? Just to the other platform. I know it’s a little scary for the first time.”
“I’ll say.” You snorted. Dick tightened his arm around you. You, in turn, held him like your life depended on it.
Dick laughed, lifting you slightly and jumping off the platform. A little scream escaped you as you were suddenly flying. Your stomach dropped to your feet. You looked down before going back to Dick’s face. His confident grin brought your stomach back to where it was supposed to be.
All too soon, you and Dick landed on the opposite platform. “That was...awesome!” You giggled, letting go of Dick to hop in place.
Dick watched you, beaming. “See? It’s not too different from swinging in the city.”
“It’s better.” You took the bar from him. “Let’s go again.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Dick took hold of the bar. His hand brushed against yours as his arm wrapped back around your waist. “Ready?”
“Always.” You grinned at him before you both jumped off together.
***
Over the next hour, you grew more reassured with the trapeze. Dick walked you through more complicated moves. There were a lot of falls onto the safety net below, but it only added to the fun.
“I think I understand more about the painting now,” you said as you flipped up to sit on your flyer bar. Dick flipped up on his bar too, sitting to face you. “It’s magical.” You leaned back, pumping your legs to swing gently.
Dick chuckled. “I’ve never experienced anything else like it. My parents were so lucky to do this for a living.” You looked up at him to see a sad smile on his face. “Of course, what I do for a living is far better for society.”
“Stopping crime and corruption. Your parents would be proud.” You swore there was a sparkle of tears in Dick’s eyes. Swinging closer to him, you nudged his foot with your own.
Dick smirked, catching your leg with his to keep you close to him. He looked into your eyes. You sighed at his pretty blues, heart melting into a puddle of goo. “You know, I never asked you the big question.”
“Oh, so you were going to ask me to marry you?” You leaned forward to touch your nose to his.
He chuckled, pulling away enough to press a butterfly kiss to your forehead. “No.” His eyes sparkled with youthful excitement. You felt like a teenager all over again. “(Y/N) (Y/L/N), will you be my valentine?”
Your heart pounded. Goosebumps grew on your skin. You leaned forward until your lips were centimeters to his. “Yes, Dick Grayson. I’ll be your valentine.” Dick gasped as you pressed your lips against his.
You never believed the stories about fireworks and seeing stars when you kissed someone. Kissing Wally was nice, hot at times. Other kisses you shared with others never had that earth shattering moment that the media always described.
However, your heart stopped. Your lips tingled from the pressure. All you could feel was him. His hands in your hair, lips molding to yours. Everything faded away.
You leaned forward to get more of him only to suddenly find yourself free falling. “(Y/N)!” Dick shouted. You screamed, hitting the net below. Soon, Dick landed on the net, bouncing you. He crawled over to your side. “Are you okay?”
Looking up at him, you found yourself hysterically giggling. Dick’s brow furrowed in concern. You waved at him, trying to speak, but the laughter wouldn’t stop.
“I didn’t think kissing me would be so funny,” Dick mumbled, blushing. He looked away.
“No.” You hiccupped, reaching up to touch his cheek. “I loved it.” You cupped his face and pulled him back to you. He moaned before melting into you. This time, you saw stars.
***
Dick sighed, pulling the warm body curled beside him closer. He opened his eyes to take in the sight of you. You were still fast asleep, hair a mess against your pillow. He kissed your cheek, looking around the room.
Your bedroom was very much yours. Dick could see the little touches, learning more about you just from your décor choices alone. Plus your bed was surprisingly comfortable.
He chuckled. Contentment filled him as he snuggled back to you. It felt right, being here with you. Last night was perfect. He kissed your cheek again, smiling when you smiled back at him in your sleep.
***
*Bonus*
Dick took his seat at the table. He nodded to Bruce before filling his plate from the spread on the table. It was the batfamily’s monthly brunch. Everyone had fallen quiet when Dick entered the room.
“So...you and (Y/N)?” Bruce asked, sipping his coffee.
Dick smirked. He looked around the room at his siblings. All with smug expressions. He wished he could record this. You would get a kick out of it.
“She said yes.” Dick took a bite of bacon. The food went dead silent. Bruce’s eyes almost popped out of his head. Tim and Steph had dropped jaws. Barbara shook her head in disbelief. Cass frowned, studying Dick carefully.
“Master Dick, it isn’t polite to tease.” Alfred clicked his tongue, pouring juice in Dick’s glass.
“I’m not teasing. She said yes to being my valentine.” Dick laughed when the entire room breathed a sigh. “What did you guys think?”
Bruce rolled his eyes, relaxing. “Dick, that was mean,” Steph groaned, throwing her hands up in the air. “I was so excited to plan a wedding, then Tim could help with the divorce two weeks later.”
“Good for you, Dick.” Barbara elbowed his side hard. “And you’re lucky (Y/N) tells me everything.”
“And that (Y/N) lowered her standards even more than they already were,” Tim mumbled, grinning when Dick glared at him.
Dick shook his head, taking another bite of bacon as he checked his phone. He had a text from you, asking if he wanted to meet up for dinner and patrol. His heart fluttered as he quickly texted yes back.

The way
Warnings: None really.
Pairings: Team Flash, Harry x Reader.
Word count: 1.6K+
A/N: I made something cute again! I’m apparently all in for the cute stuff lately. I was looking on Pinterest to get some ideas and I fell over this. I just knew it had to be Cisco’s line, didn’t imagine it to turn into a whole Harry situation, but it kinda did!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
GIF and Prompt isn't mine. Found on google and found on Pinterest.
You had always been an active outdoorsy person. You always played every sport you could find. You’d take long walks with your family, and when you got old enough you went hiking on your own. You had traveled quite a lot, all over the world really.
Lately, it had been some slow days for team Flash, metas were on the down-low, no big current villain to haunt down. So you had convinced the team to come hiking with you. You knew an amazing place just outside of Central City. It was beautiful at sunset, but it was also a bit of a hike to get on top of the small mountain.
It wasn’t everyone who was as excited for it as you were, and a few, or one specific, had been quite reluctant to go. It’s no point, makes no sense to waste our time doing this. Our time is better spent developing our tech than this, you recalled in your memory. Others had been excited and joyful. Oh yes! This would be awesome, it’s going to be so much fun! You had laughed at how excited Barry was to go.
You looked around at your friends, they were like family to you and you were so excited to be spending this time with them. Barry was running in the front with Ralph right on his heels. They had made it into a competition; who could reach the top first? Caitlin and Iris were walking beside you and right behind you were Harry and Cisco, who were of course bickering about something.
“You know, this wasn’t a bad idea Y/N,” Caitlin mused beside you, all you could do was smile and say thank you. You dwelled in the moment, making mental pictures of it, because you knew you would have to go back to the real world at some point. Suddenly you heard a yelp.
“This is my life now. I have climbed this hill and now I will die upon it.” Cisco dramatically exclaimed. “Shut up. We’ve only been hiking for twenty minutes.” You and Harry said in unison causing the two girls beside you to laugh. “You two have a fun way of being quite alike,” Iris ushered. “Have you made up your mind?” Caitlin continued Iris’ thinking. You smiled and shook your head. “Come on, you must know if you want to or not!” Iris said a little louder than you wanted her to.
“Iris, shhh!” You half panicked when Harry glanced at you with an amused look. “I don’t need him to know anything,” you spoke lowly. “At least not until I tell him on my own,” you continued as you looked at your girlfriends. A big smile spread on both of their lips. “Oh yes! You’re going to be so cute,” Iris shrieked.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself Iris. It would have to include that he likes me too, ya know.” You tried to not get your own hopes up.
You had had a crush on the Earth 2 Harrison Wells for quite some time by now. Iris had asked you one day what it was about him that made your heart flutter. At that moment you had said everything, but it had started a thought process over what it was about him.
You could conclude on your own that it was the way his dimples came out when he smiled at you. It was the way he looked at you, that made your knees go soft. It was the way it didn’t matter to you if you understood what he said or not, you just loved to listen to him talk about something he was passionate about. It was the way that he tried to explain it to you, with no annoyance or anything. It was the way it felt when your fingers grazed each other when handing stuff to one another. It was the small hugs at the end of the really long days, that no one saw. It was something only you two had and moments only you shared.
It was how he always put a smile on your lips when you thought of him. The way he made fun with you, told jokes, and laughed with you. He’s the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think of at night.
You glimpsed back at him. His baseball cap tugged down on top of his glasses, his black t-shirt showing his very nice muscled arms, and his sweater wrapped around his waist because it became too hot to wear. Oh yeah, and then he’s just flipping hot and sexy, you thought to yourself.
“Iris come on, you need to see the view from up here!” Barry yelled down to his wife. A big smile spread across her face. “Race you to the top?” Cisco chimed in right beside you. They all shared a look and ran off, leaving you behind with Harry.
“Hey,” He said as he joined you and adjusted his speed to fit yours.
“Hey yourself,” you said as you nudged his shoulder with yours and a smile you couldn’t hide. “Is it as bad as you thought it would be?” You slowly started to converse with him. He breathed in and held it for a second before letting it go in a small laugh.
“Well no, not with you by my side at least,” He smiled as he glanced down at you. His icy blue orbs were filled with enjoyment and warmth. Maybe Iris and Caitlin weren’t wrong when they said he had a thing for you too.
You reached the top with the others just in time for the sunset creating the most beautiful purple, pink, and orange lights across the sky.
“Wow, this is absolutely stunning,” Caitlin pointed out to the rest of the group. “How long have you kept this gem to yourself?” She continued looking back at you.
“Well, not for as long as you would think. I found it a few months ago, just haven’t had a chance to show you guys yet,” you stated.
Everyone fell silent for a while. Barry and Iris were sitting with their legs hanging off the little cliff, and Ralph, Cisco, and Caitlin were joking about something further away. Yourself, you were leaning on a big stone that was stood by a tree. Enjoying the moment. Savoring it as much as you possibly could. Harry came up to lean against the tree beside you.
“Ya know, I was afraid something would happen and ruin this moment. I was expecting a meta alarm to finally go off and take this moment away from us, but it didn’t.” You looked into the horizon, with a dreaming look on your face.
“I think we needed this more than we thought,” Harry caught your attention and you turned to look at him, his hand resting on your shoulder. His features were soft as he spoke. “With Savitar, with the metas, with the Earth X’ers. Having this moment with our family is worth more than anything,” Harry was a quite soft and warm person behind the hard glares, the grumpiness, and the insults.
“Harry, with a risk of ruining this moment, can I ask you two questions?” You turned completely towards him with a soft smile on your lips.
“Sure, though I would bet to say it would equal in three questions, taking the one you just did ask,” He joked and huffed a small laugh. “See, already ahead of you, that was one of the two questions!” You exclaimed poking out your tongue at him. “I know you too well,” You continued and he laughed. His laugh was like music to your ears, you would give anything to listen to it all day.
“Go on,” he pushed. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again, looking straight into his captivating ones.
“How do you feel about me?” You spoke lowly scared to say it out too loud.
“How do I feel about you?” He looked puzzled at you. You looked down on the ground before you spoke again.
“I like you, Harry. I like you a lot, and I have for a while now. I just haven’t had the guts to ask, because I’m afraid I might ruin what we have. We have an amazing friendship, and you are by far one of my best friends, and I would hate for it-” you ranted on before you were cut short by Harry.
“Y/N, stop blabbering and look at me,” His hand went to take yours and you looked more at your hands than at him. He crouched down into your view forcing you to look at him, and you followed as he stood up straight again. “I have a hard time going through my day if I don’t see you. It’s like my day isn’t good before I’ve seen your smile. You're the one who brings some light into my life while Jesse isn’t here. I wouldn’t want our friendship to be jeopardized in the slightest bit.” He continued to talk, and you could feel your face fall a little bit at the last part he was saying. “Stop overthinking it, Y/N. I’m trying to say that I like you a lot too, it’s just not coming across the way I want it to,” He laughed nervously as his hand went to scratch the back of his neck.
You looked up at him, removing the last part of space between you as you stepped up to kiss him. His hands found their way to cup your face and yours snaked around his neck.
“FINALLY!” Cisco and Ralph yelled out. You laughed against his lips before he started pecking your lips several times in a row. His hands snaked around your waist instead and deepened the kiss. “Okay you two, we get it, you’re in love, now get a room!” Cisco yelled out again.
“Shut up Cisco!” You yelled out in unison again.
