1:23am, white house
David isn’t at home.
He keeps his eyes closed and pretends to still be asleep while he tries to figure out where he is. He knows His Henry took him somewhere because of the food laced with the hateful thing that makes him sleepy and the suitcases and his travel carrier. But it doesn’t smell like furniture polish and mothballs like when they go to Sandyham or Buckyham. (Perhaps most upsetting about those places is the lack of ham, despite the names. Or the fact that His Henry retreats into himself, left with nothing but a shell until they get home and David can burrow into His Henry’s chest again.) (But seriously, the dearth of ham is criminal.)
And obviously they aren’t at home because David knows home, with its stone and sprawling grounds and His Henry and ThankYouShaan and Aunty Bea and even Mr. Wobbles. There’s pockets of stuffiness at home, but His Henry’s room and the music room burst with laughter and kindness and something that David decides is family. (Sometimes His Henry’s Alex comes to visit and His Henry gets all happy and warm and smells like cinnamon and David gets thrice as many pets. David likes those days the best.)
So David doesn’t know where he is, but there is something comforting about the smells of this new place, despite the fact that this room is entirely decorated in shades of beige usually reserved for ThatOldHarpy’s twinsets. This new place doesn’t feel as old as home, but David can tell it's got its own long history. There’s a weight of tradition in the air that he recognizes. Maybe a historic hotel? He can smell laundry detergent and fabric softener and—
“David? You awake again?”
And David couldn’t ignore His Henry if he tried (and he doesn’t want to). His tail starts wagging and he opens his eyes to see His Henry crouched next to his travel bed.
“Good morning, sleepy!” His Henry coos, petting his head and rubbing that magic spot behind David’s ears that gets his back leg twitching in pleasure. “Should we get food?”
David’s up and by the door in a flash. Duh, they should get food. Now that he’s thinking about it properly, David is starving, can’t remember the last time he was fed, he’s going to waste away—
“Alright, stop whining, let's go to the kitchen. David, heel.”
David takes up his position on His Henry’s left and trots dutifully at his side down a couple unfamiliar hallways. The smell of cooking food grows stronger with each step and his tail wags harder. David doesn’t care where they are if it means he has a chance to steal some bacon.
They go through one more doorway and only David’s training keeps him calmly at His Henry’s side. His Henry’s Alex is here! And cooking bacon!
“Hello, love.”
His Henry’s Alex spins around from his position at the stove, a joyful smile taking over his face.
“Baby! You’re here—I thought you weren’t getting in until this afternoon!”
His Henry crosses the room, drawn inexorably into His Henry’s Alex’s orbit—just like anytime they’re in the same room. David ignores them smashing their faces together and their quiet conversation in favor of sniffing every corner of the kitchen. His Henry brought him here, which means that somewhere there is food for David—and he will find it.
One full circuit of the room’s edge later and David is stumped. Maybe it’s stashed up high? His Henry will know, and he’s had more than enough time to say hello by now. David comes back over to where the humans’ legs are now tangled together and sits next to them, letting himself slump hard against them with a huff.
“Oh, sorry, David,” His Henry says. “Let me get you fed.”
His Henry’s Alex squats down to scratch at David’s chin while His Henry flutters around the kitchen pulling down dog food and a set of bowls.
“Hey, buddy! Sorry I distracted your dad for a bit there, I was just so glad to see him.” David pushes into His Henry’s Alex’s hands in agreement. He also misses His Henry when they can’t travel together. “I’m really glad he was able to bring you with him, little man. Don’t tell Henry, but I missed you even more than him.”
David pulls away to look up at His Henry’s Alex doubtfully. That statement would refute all previous evidence that David has collected. His Henry’s Alex tips his head back and laughs really hard.
“Oh my god, H—your dog is giving me the biggest bitch please face I’ve ever seen!”
“What were you telling him? He’s quite the discerning gentleman, so you must have been running your mouth.”
“But you like when I—”
“Save it for when we aren’t in a common space, dear.”
“Hen, it’s the middle of the night—”
“And yet I think you can wait twenty minutes for your depravity.”
His Henry puts food and water bowls in front of David and he promptly ignores His Henry and His Henry’s Alex fondly squabbling like children.
David still may not know precisely where he is, but His Henry is happy, His Henry’s Alex is here, and David has food, so specifics can wait.

sometimes I think about asking people for writing prompts on here, but then I remember there’s the kinkmeme. which honestly is probably better for me because I can claim as many at a time as I want, which is to say just one at a time lmao. I know I wouldn’t get flooded with requests or anything on here, only 3-4 ppl have read my fics, but I’d feel bad asking for requests and then only filling like one lol. the only downside to the kinkmeme is most of the prompts couldn’t be filled with just a drabble
#I have so little experience with drabbles though#by which I mean none actually#my shortest fic is just over 500 words which I think pushes it into ficlet length#hmmm#you know what though. the drabble as an art form has really fallen by the wayside. they used to be soooo popular when I first got into fando#now they basically only exist through social media prompt fills? random asks on tumblr or writing games on twitter#and they very rarely go on ao3#I have a theory for why this is#and the theory is that fandom culture got big and now everyone talks about writers like 'content creators'#and there's really nothing about drabbles that boosts writers' popularity or that brings in a lot of comments from readers#they don't drive engagement or whatever. and the fact is that writers like feedback#no engagement or feedback = fewer drabbles#anyway that's my theory because there used to be entire drabble FESTS before#which is something that's clearly changed

Tiger's Annual Trick or Treat Fic Fest!!
That special time of year, when your humble host opens up their ask box for eager trick or treaters to come a knock knock knocking in hopes of getting a nice juicy little ficlet. If you’re new here, let’s have a quick breakdown of how it works.
On this most wonderful of holidays, you can drop a pairing or a character in my inbox and ask for a Trick, or a Treat. Now a Treat, will get you a smutty, sexy, steamy bit of writing. While a Trick will get you something from the mixed bag. It might be silly. It might be fluffy. It might be spooky.
There are of course, a few simple, easy to follow rules.
You must be following me, as such my ask box has anon turned off for the time being.
No prompt/scenario requests. Just provide me with a pairing or a character, and whether you want a Trick or a Treat.
That said, I understand there are a lot of fandom allergies out there. If you have a squick you would like me to avoid, please feel free to let me know before hand.
You must reblog your gift. There is no exception. After years past where people came trick or treating and did nothing other than like the post, I got very disheartened and almost stopped doing this event. So now, trick or treaters who don’t pass their gift along to let others read will be blacklisted from all future events. Reblogging to a side blog is more than welcome, just please tag the url you made your request with.

❤️ 💗Irma's Valentine's day ficlet fest💗❤️
I told myself I wouldn’t do another one of these but since valentine’s day can be depressing as hell, I figured, why not! I’m bringing back the ficlet celebration-valentine’s day edition! Like the previous halloween one, my goal is to keep the ficlets around 100 - 500 words (but more often than not I go way beyond that limit lol). This time around, this prompt list is based on songs titles I like. Happy valentine's day besties!!
RULES
I will write for the following characters: Eddie Munson, Aemond Targaryen (this includes modern!Aemond too), Armitage Hux and Kylo Ren. (Please consider that the main blorbos of the moment are Eddie and Aemond though)

1. How many works do you have on ao3?
67, soon to be 68 with the Trick or Treat Fest ficlet I've written!
2. What's your total ao3 word count?

3. What fandoms do you write for?
One Direction. I've written some 1d rare pairs which adds BBC Radio 1, Music, Fashion Model, and Actor RPF to my fandoms list in ao3.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Nailed By Louis, Not Another Lonely Christmas, All That You Need, The Prince and The YouTuber, Take on Me
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Not right away but I do respond. I read them as soon as I see the email notification, but I wait to respond until I need a boost. It's so nice to reread every comment in my inbox as I respond.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Surprisingly not the one that ends with MCD! My angstiest ending is a 500 word girl direction ficlet The Phantom Heart.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I love happy endings so it's tough to pick! I'm going to go with We're Getting Better With Time because it's about second chances, so the ending feels like a new beginning for their love.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
The closest thing I've gotten to hate was a tweet about Premier Fantasies where someone was appalled by the Harry Styles/Ted Lasso pairing. It wasn't aimed at my writing, just the choice in pairing, so I took it as a compliment that I could write something that shocked people.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do write it, but not as much as I used to. When I started writing I felt so much pressure to add smut into every fic because it gets better engagement, more hits, etc. But the more I've written, the less I care about the numbers.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've written a couple of crossovers! Premier Fantasies is Harry Styles in the Ted Lasso universe, which was crazy just because of the pairing. I had a lot of fun writing dialogue for Ted in this one. The craziest plot-wise is Love and Other Antidotes, which is a One Direction take on Emperor's New Groove, and features Kronk, Disney style hijinks, and Harry as a little cow!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of. I think short fics and rare pairs tend to be stolen less often, so so far I've been safe.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't allow translations, but someone did post a translation of one without asking. I have mixed feelings about translations.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have not. I feel like as a capricorn I would want to have too much control over the story for it to be a good idea.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I read and write Larry fics the most, but I also love Niall/Greg James as a pairing and think their dynamic is so underrated.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
My very first fic. It's a werewolf pack fic I started plotting in 2017. I didn't get very far before hitting some major plot holes that I was too inexperienced as a writer to be able to fill. I have grown so much as a writer since then that it wouldn't be the same fic with the same purpose as when I started writing it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
My biggest strength is that I write for myself. I love writing short oneshots even though long fics are get more kudos. I adore the humor of crack fics, even though angsty fics get more hits. I will tackle any new rare pair I want, even if I'm the only person that will read it.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I am a creature of habit and my habits have been disturbed. I'd worked hard to develop a habit of writing a couple of times a week, and it was going so well. But after moving and other life changes in the last year, it's been difficult to find the time or energy to write. I wish I could flip on the motivation like a switch.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
There are a couple of books I remember because of the author's use of code switching throughout the dialogue, and I think it can be really powerful for some stories. But since English is my native language, I would only use it for my own writing if it added to the story, and if had the time to properly research and get it reviewed.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The phandom in 2016 but I didn't post it back then. One Direction was the first fandom where I shared my fic.
20. Favourite fic you've written?
I'm going to do this by category because I can't choose only one:

Who I am and what I do in fandom
This blog sometimes contains NSFW content, which I tag with a simple nsfw if you are a minor or if you just want to avoid it.
The main thing I do in the HP fandom is writing and discussing femslash and rarepairs, in particularly those related to Narcissa Malfoy and anything related to the marauders era. I tend to write and talk about ships/characters more than I read fic about them (if you want me to read a fic, please be patient bc I do it very slowly), and I am literally always down to chat about anything Narcissa or femslash related. Feel free to tag me if we're in a discord server together, send me an ask, or literally just DM me on here.
My favourite ships to write are Dorcas/Narcissa and Sirius/Narcissa, but I write a lot of rarepairs and femslash! I have a masterlist of fics I’ve written right here.
I am a co-admin of the Sirius Black discord server and the Narcissa Malfoy discord server. I’m also a moderator for @hptransfest and @hp-mcd-fest, both of which run yearly.
I am trying to get into reccing and writing more meta-ish posts, which is a bit of a slower process. Here are my rec lists and meta posts so far.

With only one more night in the city, will he get the chance to steer their professional relationship in a new direction and take this need to taste him up a gear?
Your Full Attention - (Malec / Rated M / 1,804 Words)
Waking up in the arms of his boyfriend, Magnus Bane, was always something to savour for Alec Lightwood.....when he had the time. Unfortunately for them both, on this occasion a Clave meeting prevented a proper 'Good Morning!' With an appointment arranged for the 'Head' of the Institute to shake hands with The High Warlock Of Brooklyn later that day, he should have known Magnus would still make him pay for choosing the Clave over his cock!
The Pleasure (And Pain) Of Your Company - (Malec / Rated E / 2,902 Words)
The only thing that frustrates Magnus Bane more than the company's temperamental tech is one Alec Lightwood, the man supposedly in charge of fixing it! Which leaves their bodies' traitorous compatibility as the only means of reliable communication between them!

After a visit to the cinema with his son Max and goddaughter Madzie, Magnus Bane accompanies them to the wonderfully festive Christmas Fair where he discovers that he has a Christmas wish of his own for Santa!
Wake Up Call - (Malec / Rated G / 500 Words)
When Magnus wakes to find last night's booze-fest hasn't drowned those unrequited feelings for his long-term roommate, a message recorded (and promptly forgotten) in a moment of painful desperation, lays out far more than just French toast on the breakfast table!
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I do, because they have invariably MADE MY DAY, and I want to say thanks for taking the time to send them!
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Although it doesn’t necessarily have an angsty ending but a sad theme in general, I would have to say my Widower Alec ficlet, To Us, You’re Still Here! Broke my heart to write it but hopefully the happy memories and lasting love are a balance for the grief!
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Aside from my previous answer, all of my fics have happy endings, but the sappiest would probably have to be Love, Spoken And Unspoken because few things are more romantic than exchanging poetry quotes, imo!
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I don’t, and I can’t say I have the urge to either - it takes a more deft touch than mine to blend two worlds successfully!
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
On occasion, though it’s more of the blink-and-you-miss variety! I’ve read some intimate scenes that managed to hit that sweet spot combination of intoxication, realism and humour, and I aspire to one day do the same!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I was once asked permission for Your Full Attention to be translated into Portuguese, but I’m not sure if it was actually done because they didn’t respond to my request for a link!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I haven’t - and given how I write at a pace that would probably frustrate the hell out of a co-writer, no matter their saintly patience, that’s never likely to happen either! I much preferred being a beta (of the informal kind) that bounced ideas with friends looking for another perspective, tbh, than a stressed out writing partner to someone!
What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Malec Forever, Baby!
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
On a bad day, the answer is all 7 of them - but on a good day, the answer is I KNOW I’ll finish all 7 of them because I’m a damned completionist and stubborn as hell!
What are your writing strengths?
I’m confident in my ability to write humour, innuendo/word play is second nature to me, inserting gestures of casual affection wherever humanly possible, composing a decent summary, and delivering details in a pretty turn of phrase that hopefully avoids purple prose!
What are your writing weaknesses?
Dangerous question to ask a self-doubter, but I’ll go with too-long sentences, not trusting the reader to visualise the scene I’m badly describing so I overcompensate by plotting each touch, step and position instead (which is a failure of trust, I know), and sometimes rushing my endings!
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Uh, I have none, really? Author’s choice, I suppose, although accuracy would need to be a high priority, I imagine!? I’ve had no problem with reading snippets of dialogue in languages that are foreign to me personally, and on the one occasion I myself needed to include a translation of a Spanish lullaby into English for a story, I sought help from native speakers!
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Shadowhunters is (almost certainly) the only fandom I can see myself writing for because, no matter how much I enjoy other shows and films (and I DO, even though it appears I’m stuck in a SH-only bubble), I simply don’t feel the urge to explore other ships/characters outside of their canon in the same way I do with Malec! They continue to capture my imagination as a special couple, and as individuals, and until that fascination is somehow exhausted, I’ll keep writing about them!
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
Made All The Difference is one I’m particularly proud of because it’s more introspective and structured than my other stories, and the closest I’ve come to a character study of Alec (whilst being able to indulge in Malec moments that complement his train of thought throughout their evening together)!

Henry’s warm; that’s the first thing he notices.
Kensington Palace is always cold, no matter the season — history and tradition seem to cling to the air like a chilly fog.
But Henry’s warm and there’s something about the quality of the silence that suggests early morning. A time he’s more than familiar with. He takes stock of himself: exhausted but content, the hint of hangover hovering at the base of his skull, jaw muscles sore and languid at the same time. And—
A steady, slow breath on the back of his neck, an arm curled around his waist holding him close against a firm chest.
Alex.
It all comes rushing back: meeting at the café, the flirting, the two bottles of wine, the careful, fleeting touches while exploring the city, the decidedly less careful touches with hands and mouths as they explored each other more fully. Henry’s never felt so connected, so in tune with another man — none of his previous myriad of furtive, NDA-covered experiences can come close to comparing. Despite Alex’s relative inexperience, the taste of wine in his mouth as he licked into Henry’s, Henry felt so bloody light last night he can hardly breathe — even hours later — from the tenderness.
And Henry can’t stand not looking at Alex a second longer. Carefully, so as not to wake him, Henry turns over; he moves slowly, loath to dislodge the warm weight of Alex’s arm.
Christ.
Henry would believe that sunbeams were created for this very moment, that they had been honing their craft for milenia just to perfect the vision in front of him:
Alex is glowing. Each messy curl is edged in gold, the sunshine practically beading where it clings to his hair. His dark skin — which is already distractingly caramel — appears burnished in the light, as if it has been painstakingly polished overnight, almost lit from within; a fire behind a half-drawn curtain, beckoning him home. Even the dust motes swirling in the air above him seem entranced by Alex; they swirl and drift lazily in the ray of light from the window, almost as if caught in Alex’s orbit, drawn inexorably toward him.
Henry can certainly relate.
But they don’t do this, stay the night. Or — they haven’t before. But last night the haze of wine and Alex’s fingers in his hair, gripping the back of his head made Henry dizzy, his body loose and positively melting from the contact.
So he didn’t bring up returning to his own hotel room. Didn’t back away from Alex’s embrace as they panted together in the dark space between their mouths, coming down from their highs. Didn’t try to slip free from the tangled sheets once he heard Alex’s breaths even out as he drew closer and closer to dreamland. Didn’t tense up or pull away as he felt Alex reach out and delicately, gently, reverently trace the ridge of his spine, just let Alex map each bump with a burgeoning sense of wonder. Henry had just let his own eyes drift shut, basking in the closeness. Let himself, for once—
Hope.
Alex is smiling; that’s the next thing he notices.

2022 - WEEK 34 WRAP-UP
SK8 THE INFINITY IS COMING BACK FOR SEASON 2 AND THERE WILL BE AN OVA. I am still processing the news! Been waiting for this the second the show ended last year. In celebration of the news, I made a small Matchablossom fics rec list. ❤️ You can find it here on Dreamwidth or on Tumblr.
Oh! And I published my 69th work on AO3. (Though I feel like I'm cheating a bit, since 90% of my works are drabbles and ficlets. I just have a compulsion to fill the monthly prompts you find in the Dreamwidth prompt communities.😅) But! Since it's the 69th, I wrote a short 1.7k words Matchablossom pwp. That took a lot out of me. Sex is not a thing I can write well for, which I think you can tell since most of the fic has Kojiro dealing with his feelings than me actually describing the scene. Next time!
And to round off my week, someone picked my prompt for HP Soulmates Fest! I am so touched. I never expect any of my prompts to be picked, so when they do I'm always flabbergasted. It's The Hardest Thing. The fest is still posting, so the fic is still currently under anon.

Tiger’s Nth Annual Trick or Treat Fic Fest!
That special time of year, when your humble host opens up their ask box for eager trick or treaters to come a knock knock knocking in hopes of getting a nice juicy little ficlet. If you’re new here, let’s have a quick breakdown of how it works.
On this most wonderful of holidays, you can drop a pairing or a character in my inbox and ask for a Trick, or a Treat. Now a Treat, will get you a smutty, sexy, steamy bit of writing. While a Trick will get you something from the mixed bag. It might be silly. It might be fluffy. It might be spooky.
There are of course, a few simple, easy to follow rules.
You must be following me, as such my ask box has anon turned off for the time being.
No prompt/scenario requests. Just provide me with a pairing or a character, and whether you want a Trick or a Treat.
That said, I understand there are a lot of fandom allergies out there. If you have a squick you would like me to avoid, please feel free to let me know before hand.
You must reblog your gift. There is no exception. After years past where people came trick or treating and did nothing other than like the post, I got very disheartened and almost stopped doing this event. So now, trick or treaters who don’t pass their gift along to let others read will be blacklisted from all future events. Reblogging to a side blog is more than welcome, just please tag the url you made your request with.

Harry doesn't know how he got here, standing on Draco's porch, the rain a constant thrumming in his ears. He doesn’t know why Draco is inside, or why he’s upset at him.
“Where’s my Harry Potter? Where's the bloody Gryffindor who protects those he loves because he loves them, not because he needs it for the fame? Where'd he go?”
Draco’s glare is so violent it lights him up from the inside, but Harry knows there's disappointment, heartbreak, lined in those silver pools. He knows Draco’s expressions, he knows everything about this man in front of him.
“I don’t know you anymore, Potter.”
The use of the last name stabs him in the heart more than anything. These last few years he’d just been Harry, or love, or my darling, in the most tender of times. In these last few years he’d grown closer, they'd grown closer.
“You need him,” Harry says. “I could be him.”
“I don’t want you to have to try to be him,” Draco says, almost pleadingly. “I don’t want you to try to be him, Harry. I want you to just be him...just be you.”
Harry doesn’t understand. Of course he is himself, he has never changed. But Draco is the fourth person to have told him he’s changed. Hermione and Ron said almost the same thing when he left their home for the last time a few months ago, and Luna had told him as much when she saw him in Diagon last week.
“I just want him back...” Draco’s voice is so broken, so devastated, that it tears at something deep within Harry’s chest. Tears are streaming down his elegant face.
“He can’t come back. He won’t come back.”
“Well,” Draco says, retreating back into the house, wiping at his eyes. “Let me know if he does.”
Harry stands on the porch so long that he can no longer distinguish the rain from the tears on his face.
