Ok, not my usual post.
My friend Tina (FarmGirlInMiddleOfNowhere) who use to be on here and I was talking about things that have been going on in the world today.
Due to the uncertainty in the world, she asked if I would post something that she use to post a couple times a year for the ladies on Tumblr. I had to look up a different site than she used, since the one she use to post is no longer online. So here it is.
How to make homemade feminine pads.
Tina asked me to pass on:
Please share with others. This can be a way to save money, to have emergency back-up until you can get back to the store or to have on hand if everything hits the fan and stores are closed for a long time. Or just copy/download the pattern and instructions and put them with the rest of your patterns for later.

It's 2023.
... Its 2023 and it's the first time tampons and pads were tested with blood.
... You know the products period having people use when we have periods.
The things that are supposed to be designed to absorb blood.
Have for the first time been tested with actual blood!
Are you fucking kidding me?!
Yeah the reason there's blue liquid on the adverts isn't for censorship no no no it's because they've been using saline and water to test how absorbent these things are.
And I don't think I need to explain that blood is thicker than a water.
We have a whole fucking proverb about it.
The people doing the study reported that there isn't any study that exists prior to this.
And suprise they aren't as effective at absorbing blood like initially believed.
Women have been saying this shit for years, people with heavy periods have been saying this shit for years.
And no one gave a fuck.
And said we were just over exaggerating or it can't be that much blood.
And they weren't even designed to absorb blood, but water.
Tampons have been around since the 1930's.
Pads have been advertised commercially as period products since the 1880's.
And no one has ever thought to see if they could do the timing they were being marketed for?!
I'm so pissed.

Femme Fatale Guide: A Beginner's Guide To Embracing Your Sexuality
A high-level guide for women/vulva owners reclaiming their bodies from patriarchy and/or purity culture and any AMAB individuals who want to learn more about how to support/pleasure their AFAB partners. Hope this helps xx
Let go of any shame: Desiring sexual pleasure and gratification is a primal urge. It's part of human biology (for most of us, at least), so begin deconstructing this shame/validating your needs. Mental blocks are going to be the number one thing that stops you from enjoying yourself or "getting there" once you figure out the basics for your body
Get a mirror and learn about your own anatomy: A roadmap is always helpful for directions – for yourself or to help guide/instruct a partner
Give yourself alone time to explore and experiment: See what feels good, even better, and not so much. Be patient and realize you deserve this indulgence. It is a private, not a shameful, practice
Introduce toys and sensory enhancers, if desired: Vibrators, CBD, arousal gels, sensual music/films, etc.
Read and learn more about female sexuality: I highly recommend Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski and She Comes First by Ian Kerner (also give them to a partner if you have one currently or in the future to read, honestly). Jessica Valenti's books are also incredible to help understand the social constructions surrounding female sexuality and owning it as a woman in a patriarchal society. Indulge in spicy books and ethically-made porn for some more steamy ideas/fantasies to explore
Communicate openly with any (prospective) partners about sex and your sexual boundaries: Share about your comfortability, preferences, things you want to try, etc. Don't be shy to speak up or help redirect. Being kind doesn't mean having to be a doormat. Consider all partnered sexual experiences as an act of sharing and exchanging pleasure, not as a means of control or coercion
For my in-depth guide/tons of recommendations, check out How To Embrace Your Sexuality Playbook in the hyperlink (Post+).

dear people with coochies...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay whatever is this trend that is going around that keeps telling vulva owners don't need to use soap... PLEASE USE SOAP!
you are supposed to use (gentle) soap on the vulva (the outside!). there are a lot of folds and crevices that collect discharge that can and will turn into smegma if soap is not applied! water is not enough!! sometimes, you need to retract your clitoral hood and wash in there, too.
if you have sensitive skin or you suspect your bacterial vaginosis comes from hygiene products, consider the following before ditching soap:
• change from generic soap to one used for babies.
• your preferred brand of pads/tampons may be the culprit. especially, tampons with applicators and pads with colourful swirls/fragrance infused pads! also, make sure you wash and sterilise your reusable period products after each cycle.
• your partner is using lotion to wank frequently. ask them to ditch the lotion and buy actual lube!
• your (uncut) partner does not use soap on his penis, particularly behind the foreskin. uncut penises collect bacteria quickly. overall, if your partner has a penis, they need to be uptop with their junk too.
• the brand of condoms you use - some condoms come pre-lubed with lubricant that contains a lot of glycerin, which is metabolised as sugar and may upset your natural PH balance.¹
• your blood sugar levels are elevated. while generally that leads to frequent yeast infections, sometimes your body might do a fucky and give you BV instead.
• your laundry detergent may be the culprit - especially if you use powdered product and wash on a low temperature (<40°C) + low spin (<800/m).
• you and/or your partner habitually do not wash your hands before touching your kitty. this is self explanatory.
• wash your sex toys. yes, even the satisfyer and other clitoral stuff. make sure your sex toys are of non-porous, non-toxic materials. avoid phthalates in your dildos!
DO NOT! under any circumstances put yogurt (not even the one that says unsweetened), garlic or any other foodstuffs in your vagina! that yeast infection/BV might turn into toxic shock.
additionally, dump that tampon applicator too! statistically, tss (from tampon usage) prevalence is higher in countries that use tampon applicators, especially the plastic ones. it is commonly understood that bacteria enters the bloodstream through microtears in the vaginal walls. for the same reason, it is strongly recommended to use the right size/absorbance tampons as to not cause unnecessary abrasions.
thank you for your time and patience.
¹ anecdotally, I have heard good reviews about Skyn, MySize and Lelo condoms from the more expensive end & EXS Air Thin from the cheaper end. I personally use EXS. Most "popular" condom brands are not that good for your coochie. Durex is the worst.

Step One: Cleansing + Hydrating
- Remove any makeup (i use micellar water)
- I cleanse my skin with the 'cosmic dew cleaser' and on days i start to break out i use the Cera Ve SA cleanser.
- I apply a snail mucin serum first and them i layer the 'holy hydration!' serum by E.L.F. on top.
Tumblr media
Step Two: Moisturizer + Rose quartz roller
- I moisturize with my all time favorite Neutrogena 'hydro boost' water gel!
- On some nights i do like to ice my face so i do that before that. i put my rose quartz roller in the freezer and it help a lot with de-puffing!
Tumblr media
Do's and Don'ts :
- Dont slug for the love of god. I know it supposedly has a lot of good qualities for you skin, but it'll clog your pores.
- Do invest in toners!
