Someone else might have discussed this before, I’m sure @yet-another-omega would know.
In a lot of Omegaverse fics there comes a moment where a character says a line, “I’d be within my rights to kill you.”
And that’s got me thinking about the Criminal Law of the Omegaverse.
Like, what are the legal standards for a lawful killing versus a murder? How do laws differ for the different dynamics? I’m guessing nobody would bat an eyelash for an Alpha killing another Alpha, but what about an omega killing an Alpha? Would they be punished more harshly? What about a beta killing another beta?
“I’d be within my rights to kill you” is such a common line in Omegaverse fics, so we can all agree that’s a thing. But how many of us think of the implications beyond “mm the hot Alpha would kill for [me] 😳🤤”

i think a good place to start if you want to be a fiction writer is fan fic
listen- devising your own plot from scratch is difficult. creating your own characters from noting is difficult.
a way to make it simpler in your brain is to take characters that you already know inside and out and a trope you’ve read for years and make your own version
you’re still writing
you’re still being creative
it doesn’t matter if it’s similar to someone else’s take on those characters in that trope because no one will tell the story the way you will
it’s contributing to a creative community for people who will enjoy your work
iron out your writing style and methods with things you already know and love

Low-key one of my favorite Stranger Things fic tropes is Joyce being Steve’s actual mom, like, there’s just something about Steve having a parent that actually give a crap about him that just mmm.
