CHICON 2008 Request (and a tiny sample!)
This is a shot in the dark, but I thought I’d ask. Does anyone have a video of any quality, good or bad, that covers the below portions of the CHICON 2008 panels? I have videos for the vast majority of it, but there are a few small gaps annoying me and I'd love to fill them in. If you have something you’d be willing to let me use in my next set of enhanced con videos, please let me know. I would of course give you credit if I use them! Or anonymity if that's what you prefer. Even an audio file could be useful.
If you don't have anything but you're willing to reblog to increase visibility, that would be awesome too. I haven't had any success the few times I've tried to directly contact fans who were posting content back in these early days, so I don't think many are still out there, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
Gap #1: The beginning of Jared’s solo panel, before he starts telling the story about his dogs sleeping with Jensen. I managed to find a very low-quality 30-second video near the beginning where he talks about the fan video that played, but it cuts off. The better-quality videos start just before Jared tells the dog story.
Gap #2: After the J2 panel, immediately after Jared finishes signing the posters and leaves the stage. The videos show Jensen clapping for Jared as he exits, but they cut off mid-clap. The next video picks up post-clap with Jensen saying, “Maybe we should wait ‘til he’s out of the room.” I think there are only a few seconds missing, not really enough to be annoyed by, but... 🤷‍♀️
Gap #3: At the very end of Jensen’s solo panel, as he’s getting ready to leave, he thanks the fans and talks about how many more viewers they've had that season. The last video cuts off before he finishes talking.
Other than that, I have a complete span of content for all three of their panels. It adds up to about 1.5 hours that will be split into 3 videos. I think the gaps are all short. I read through some fan reports and I didn’t see anything mentioned that wasn’t covered in the videos I have, so we're probably not missing anything big.
I'm only just starting the editing process on this set. so it will be a while before I have a new video to release. In case you missed it, I did publish the CHICON 2008 breakfast video earlier this week. Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with this tiny sample of one of the things I’ve wanted to do so many times while watching con videos.
I always go slightly bonkers when Jared and Jensen go off in separate directions on stage, because the camera can’t possibly follow both of them. I usually end up pulling up all the videos and trying to find one that follows each of them so I can flip back and forth between them. 🤣 Now I have the power to take two separate videos and show them simultaneously. This silly thing makes me very happy.
Context: this was at the end of the J2 panel. Jensen made a show of removing Jared's chair, and then Jared took Jensen's chair and replaced it with a smaller chair. It will be more coherent when you see the full video; I mainly wanted to highlight the split screen parts for this post.

So, this turned into more of a vent session than I intended. Just need to send it out to the void. Please ignore.
How is it that people send in all their requests at once? Do they coordinate?? I had my work inbox all caught up when I left on Friday. Then yesterday happened. One of my favorite things about my job is that it’s just busy enough to keep me from getting bored but still gives me time to breathe and take breaks. Which, yes, I still took a couple of breaks today because if I didn’t I’d end up staring blankly at my screen and get even less done. But that meant I ended up leaving 20 minutes late. And even then I haven’t finished everything! I did as much as I needed to do to not immediately cry when I get in tomorrow. I was prepared to stay later if it meant I could actually sleep tonight. This was supposed to be my easy week! There’s no payroll this week! I was supposed to be able to do all the employee changes yesterday, spend most of today on a report due tomorrow (which I did actually manage to finish, thank god), and then spend the rest of the week preparing for payroll next week and answering questions from employees. Instead, I got bulldozed by verification requests, which I couldn’t even get to because I had a million little fires pop up from last weeks payroll. That meant I walked in to a second round of requests this morning. Except mandatory government reports take priority, so I couldn’t get to them til this afternoon, by which time a THIRD round of requests were coming through. When I finally called them back, the guy had the gall to ask if the email they sent all of the requests to was still good and what the turn around time was. I’ve had them for a day! Sir, I think 24 hours is a pretty good fucking turn around time for someone trying to juggle payroll, employment verification, employee changes, government wage reporting, and every damn employee question about their paychecks, taxes, and pto for three decently sized companies. Forgive me for prioritizing!
Phew, rant over. For clarity, I love my job. The people are great, the workload is (usually) just right, there’s enough routine that I always know what to do but enough variety that it’s not the same thing day in day out, and they actually actively encourage me to take time off. Partially because the government requires people in my industry to take a week off every year so that someone else has to do my job and hopefully notice signs of fraud, but also because they legitimately don’t want their people burning out. I’ve been there a year and have finally really started to believe that I’m not going to be interrogated or guilt tripped if I ask for time off AND my team will actually take care of my responsibilities while I’m gone.
Like, my last boss never minded me taking time off, but she would ask me why. I think it was mostly because I was the one person she could maybe consider a friend at that place and was just interested in my life as a result. But I never truly let myself forget that she was my boss, so I always felt like she was checking to see if I really needed the time off or if she could turn me down. I always felt like I had to justify my requests. And while I was gone, she was too busy to do my job unless it was 100% necessary, which pretty much just covered new hires and payroll. She did her best, but I would inevitably come back from just two days off and be absolutely buried in emails and paperwork. Then, I would have to deal with overhearing people gossip about me not doing my job. Forgive me for wanting to spend time with my family occasionally.
At this job, my boss keeps telling me to take time off while the weather is nice and I can “go do something fun!” Every email I send asking to leave early is immediately answered with an “absolutely!” I even stopped myself from including reasons for the two afternoons I asked for next month, just to see what would happen. She just said yes. She’ll probably ask when we get closer to the dates, but the distinction is that she’s asking AFTER she’s agreed to the time off. I actually believe that she wants me to rest and will deal with what she can while I’m out. I mean, I not only left for a week, but came back to a nicely organized inbox (better organized than I had it, even), the only things that hadn’t been processed were new hires starting that day (and some term forms that the team clearly hadn’t realized were there. We get so many ahead of time that I keep them in a sub folder of the inbox so I can actually see the rest of the emails I need to answer. Yay for a job where people actually give two weeks notice instead of just disappearing) and any changes that had come through after hours. AND my team was immediately asking what they could help with because they knew I’d have a million emails in my personal inbox (it was actually 69 which is just too perfect). Hell, my boss started checking payroll reports before I even asked! Like, Christ, I haven’t had this level of support in years!
PLUS everyone in the office asked how my trip went and were exceedingly patient as I proceeded to show them a million pictures of my niece. She’s very cute and this was the first time I’d gotten to meet her, so I was a very excited auntie (also, she rolled over for the first time this week and they got it on video!! She’s not even 4 months old yet. The kid’s a genius!). Anyway, there was no shit talking, or if there was, they had the decency to do it where I can’t overhear. I have a hard time believing anyone in this office would begrudge me taking time off though. Everyone else takes off time around holidays or gives themselves the occasional long weekend. It’s really common for me to be the last person leaving on a Friday. Like, so common that the other lady who doesn’t tend to take off those days has started calling the two of us “the usual guard” for holiday weekends. I can reliably predict the days that it's gonna be just me and the other lady. People actually use their time off in this company and it's refreshing. i took an afternoon off to go kayaking and it was surprisingly guilt free.
Anyways, that kinda turned into a second rant that i didn't plan. I just think the sudden spike in demands that I do things NOW reminded me of the old job and kinda sent me into a spiral. I’m really glad to be where I am now. I’m just not used to having 200 demands on my time anymore and having to stay late just to get through half of them. I’m so ready to let go of the old job. It just rears it’s ugly head when I least expect it and I don’t know how to forget it and move on. I'm think i'm going to ask my doctor if she can recommend a therapist the next time i see her. I'd really like some help with overcoming the trauma of that job.

“They’re back!”
Chaos soon erupted in the streets. One of the young boys was running around, screaming, almost cheering, and if it hadn’t been for that hope in his voice, I nearly thought he meant that the Titans had returned. If that were true… No. That morning, we watched the Survey Corps leave to lure the remaining Titans away from the walls, so how could the Titans come back for us? If it weren’t the Titans, then it had to be the Survey Corps. It had to be him.
“They’re at the gates! The Survey Corps is back!”
I dropped the dishes in the sink and ran for the door. People were already lining the sidewalks while waiting for the returning soldiers to make their march through the city up to their barracks. Some had roses. I wasn’t sure if the flowers were for the survivors or to commemorate the dead or both. I had no flowers or gifts. All I could bear to do was start running toward the outer wall to see if I could catch up to the parade of soldiers until I heard the racket down the street. Protestors were yelling about their taxes, of course. Families were shouting for their sons or daughters in the Corps. Brokenhearted husbands and wives were falling into the arms of Squad Leaders who were giving them bad news. I refused to be such a widow.
“Look how many of them have returned since this morning,” a gossip whispered to her friend. “Less than half, if I had to guess. Pity.”
I almost wanted to smack her for being so crass.
Still, I ignored as much of the crowd as I could as I balanced on my toes to see over the heads of those in front of me as I searched for him. He’d be on a horse. In his station as Lance Corporal, he’d be on a horse. I’d see him…
I clasped my hands together, almost in prayer, silently begging to see him again. Erwin was leading the next Squad. I saw an elderly man run into the road to bother Erwin with questions of his daughter, but when Erwin didn’t say anything, the man stumbled over to the next man he saw. It was him. He was staring straight ahead, his head held high while his horse trotted along gently under him. The father called out, but he still didn’t look down. I pushed through the crowd in front of me, shoving a protestor roughly to the side with a glare before stepping onto the cobblestone street.
I reached out with my arm and shouted, “Levi!”
He quickly glanced over at me.
“Levi!”
Within an instant, he led his horse over to my side of the road, weaving through the maze of tired and injured soldiers. I smiled up at him. He was home. Yet, he didn’t smile back— Though I wasn’t exactly surprised. Whenever he did these marches back from outside, he tried his best to maintain the tough, inhuman persona of Lance Corporal Levi until we could be back at home where it was just us two.
Levi swung his right leg over his horse and gently dropped on it rather than his left leg, which was his dominant side. He even winced when his arm got caught over his head a bit by the reins. What had happened out there? Had he been so badly wounded? Would he even be able to make it up to the barracks? He shouldn’t have gotten off his horse for me if he couldn’t get back on—
I hardly realized that he had limped his way around his horse so quickly until his good arm was raised for his hand to cup my cheek, then he was kissing me. We tilted slightly to the right as he pressed me backwards. It was his leg. He was keeping all of his weight off of his left side— I should have said something, but he was still kissing me passionately, and I couldn’t do anything but hold his face in my hands.
And then we had to breathe.
As he pulled away, he kept his forehead and nose pressed against mine, his eyes falling shut. “Later.”
I nodded vaguely. “Later.”
He had to go off to be Lance Corporal Levi again, and I couldn’t stop him. So, I let him go as he limped back to his horse and carefully remounted with grimaces of pain. I’d have to tend to those later. That was what he always meant by his gentle “later” he always whispered to me after coming back. Granted, he’d never come over to kiss me like that before, but there was always at least a glance in my direction and a note of, “Later,” before he’d continue marching. Levi was a stubborn man with a stubborn pride. He hated the idea of letting anyone see him go to the infirmary, and he hated the idea of anyone seeing him vulnerable. I supposed he had just broken one of his own rules, but at the very least, he’d still refuse to go to the infirmary. That was always my job. Later. He’d let me tend to his wounds later. He’d tell me as much as he could later. He’d cry about all of it later.
I followed him as he continued uphill towards the barracks. Erwin was still leading the pack, and Levi was only a few steps ahead, but I couldn’t find the rest of his Squad. I moved to get a look inside one of the wagons long enough to see Eren Jaeger, a problem child for Levi, holding the hand of Mikasa Ackerman who was a soldier Levi had been eager to have on his team. I couldn’t spot the others. Granted, I hardly knew them. I had met each of them once so long ago, I could only guess what they would look like now after seeing and enduring so much. Levi told me surveying changed people. I wondered if I had known him before he joined the Corps if I would have noticed a big difference in him. When he was with me, he talked and smiled and cried. Deep down, I knew that was the real Levi Ackerman, and perhaps that was the real him before Lance Corporal Levi, too.
At the barracks, guards pushed back the crowd to keep out protestors and wailing mourners who were demanding answers from Erwin. Thankfully, however, Levi waved me through. He wasn’t technically supposed to do such a thing, but the guards would never question a Lance Corporal, especially Levi with the reputation he carried. So, when I was through, they closed the doors until the next Squad’s arrival. Levi rode over to the stables. I trudged through the mud to get to him, but as stubborn as he was, he tried to get off his horse before I could help. He cried out when his right leg slipped on the mud and he got himself on his injured left leg. I ran to him as best I could.
“Don’t let me fall,” he whispered to me while I tucked my arm under and around him.
I nodded. “I won’t.”
Many of the soldiers, including Eren, were already heading into the infirmary, while others were walking to the dining hall for stew. None of them were looking at the stables. Even Erwin had left his horse to drink at the stables before quickly going to the infirmary to take count of how many made it back. I held onto Levi the best I could while taking him to a hay bale to sit on.
“It’s my arm and leg,” he explained. “I think I broke them.”
I inspected his arm first. Taking his wrist in my grip, I gently moved his arm about until he winced, signaling it couldn’t go any further. It wasn’t broken, but his shoulder was certainly pushed out of its socket, and his elbow had been beaten and bruised to hell. As for his leg, it was certainly broken. From hip to ankle, it was shattered to the point I was surprised he was able to ride at all. He should have gone in a wagon.
“I’ll have to bandage you up at home.”
Levi nodded.
“You should let Erwin cart you back.”
“No.”
I glared up at him for using his stern voice with me.
“I can make it on my own,” he corrected. “The worms need carts; Not me.”
I rolled my eyes and helped him back up his feet, letting him lean against me again so that he didn’t put any weight on his bad leg.
It was hell getting back to the house. We had to go around the parade so no one saw him, and when we did happen to run into a soldier, he immediately stood tall to acknowledge their salute with a short nod. Once we were there, though, it was a breeze. He sat on the edge of the bed while I grabbed bandages to sling his arm in and stiffen his leg so that it could heal properly. He was silent the entire time. While I propped up his elbow and wrapped the bandages all the way around his shoulder to his wrist. I knew he’d hate it, but it was the best way to help him heal after I popped his shoulder back into his socket. It was like putting a cone on a dog. Without it there, he’d only hurt himself all over again.
“I wasn’t there,” he said suddenly.
“For what?” I asked casually, wrapping his leg.
“Petra… Gunther… Eld… Oluo… They’re gone. They’re all gone.”
I swallowed hard.
“It’s my fault.”
Denying such a statement for him never worked because he always knew the truth. The fact of the matter was that he was a leader who had to make tough decisions that put the lives of others in danger, but at the end of the day, they were the ones who chose to join the Corps, and they were the ones who were supposed to have the training to survive out there. Yes, Levi made the calls, but… To say that it was all entirely his fault was somewhat of a stretch. Regardless, he thought it was his fault. He knew it was his fault. How could I look him in the eye and lie?
“You did your best,” was all I could say.
He hardly acknowledged my comforting touch on his healthy knee before I pushed myself up to my feet and went to put my things away for the next time he’d return from battle. I warned him time and again that he’d get himself killed out there. Every time we argued about it, he’d huff and go, “Death is inevitable.” I’d protest that he could stay home, with me, behind the walls, safe; but the Corps was his life, and I knew that the day we met, though it was still hard to deal with from time to time, of course. Knowing that all of his friends died out there made me worry more than ever. Perhaps next time I wouldn’t need my kit. Perhaps next time Erwin would be carting Levi back in a sack for me to cry over and bury.
“The King won’t be happy with us,” Levi explained. I returned to the bed and sat beside him. “We messed up out there, and I fear he’ll want to make an example out of me and Erwin for leading so many to their deaths. Perhaps he’ll want to see us dead, too.”
“And cause an uproar amongst the Corps and many in the cities and villages who know of your sacrifices? I doubt it.”
Levi let me rest my head against his good shoulder. He was home. He was safe. He was partially intact. He needed a shower.
“Erwin will take any heat I’d get… He shouldn’t for me, though.”
“You’d do the same for him.”
Levi snickered. “Yes.” He kissed the top of my head.
“I’m glad you’re home.”
He sighed against me. “Me, too.”

summary: after dabi was seen leaving your apartment complex last week, the commission has sent a lesser known hero to help guard the building until new cameras are installed. however, no security measures in the world could keep dabi out.

a/n: this is the final chapter to this little duology, and the reason why its so much shorter is because the first one was really supposed to stand on its own, but i got so many requests for a sequel i couldn’t help it. so i just took the kinks i didn’t get to use last time and pay off some setup and voila. however, just ‘cause this is the last chapter of this story doesn’t mean i’m not gonna write a fuck ton of other stuff for him. ily burn man. plus i’m working on a huge, multi-chapter fic for him while i post smaller one-shots >:) that being said, enjoy.
Tumblr media
The impact Dabi left on your life was far bigger than you thought it would’ve been on the night you snuck him away from the law. As he was running from the cops someone saw him climb through your window, and a different person also saw him climb down the fire escape. With witnesses like that, the other tenants were downright furious.
You almost felt bad for the landlord, it wasn’t his fault you were insane enough to willingly let a villain come inside both you and your apartment.
Your landlord and the police department came up with a solution. The apartment complex would be installing new state-of-the-art locks on all fire-escape adjacent windows free of charge. This wasn’t exactly an issue with seeing Dabi again, since all you had to do was purposefully leave yours unlocked.
It would take two weeks to install all the cameras, but until then, a community-assigned hero would be stationed to guard the complex.
His name was Kao, a middle-ranked hero with bright orange hair and a winning smile framed with dimples. At first you thought he might’ve been one of the better heroes, waving you off to work and walking you there the other day, but recently he’d begun to creep you out. The friendly conversations about a tv show you both enjoyed began to turn into invasive questions about your love life.
A week of lingering glances and uncomfortable prying culminated that Friday as he had flat out asked you to dinner moments prior.
“C’mon, I just— I said that wrong, lemme try again,” He stuttered, keeping pace with you as you marched towards the building.
“No, Kao, look, you’re cool and all, but I’m really not looking to date anyone right now.” You huffed, striding into the doorway and towards the elevator. That might not’ve been the whole truth but you obviously couldn’t tell him that you had the hots for a terrorist.
He groaned, rubbing the back of his neck, “Well you just got off work, right? I remember which room you stay in, maybe I can swing by tonight?”
You whirled on him, your jaw slack in shock at the insensitivity of his words. The reminder that he knew where you lived sending a shiver down your spine, “Kao, this conversation is done. I don’t want you following me around anymore, hero,”
Deep down, your words sounded familiar. If they were raspier and said behind a thin veil of indifference, you might’ve realized that you were talking like Dabi.
“What is that supposed to mean? We’re the good guys!” You slammed your fist down on the close-door button, your mouth a thin line, daring Kao to make a move and stop the doors. He didn’t, and soon the reassuring pull of the elevator set your shaking body at ease.
‘Who does he think he is?’ You were bitter, rightfully so, you think.
You were so frustrated that you had difficulty inserting your keys into the lock, twisting it with a growl and throwing open the door, ready to collapse onto your pillow and vent to whoever was online about your heroic stalker.
When you noticed the scent of cigarettes in the air.
“Hey, doll,” Warmth surged through your chest at the sight of him, the villain’s feet kicked up onto the coffee table.
You were hanging your coat on the hook before moving beside him to the couch, “What took you so long?”
“Not happy to see me? You seem a lot bitchier than I remember,” The crude edge of his humor was a breath of fresh air compared to the stifling niceties of work, and you smiled for what felt like the first time that day.
Shaking your head, you toed out of your boots and made your way to the frayed couch, “I’ll tell you all about him,”
That got his attention, “Him?”
“A hero,” Dabi’s frown worsened, an accusatory look in his eyes, “before you ask, no, you idiot, I hate this guy, there’s not a chance I’d sleep with him.”
The tensity in his shoulders relaxed, bring the half-finished Newport to his lips as you continued, “Since you broke in last week all my neighbors lost their shit. They threatened to sue if my landlord didn’t assign a hero to watch the building for a bit. I thought he was cool, but I’ve just decided that he’s a total prick.”
He hummed, nodding understandingly, “Want me to kill him?”
You gaped, hitting him on the chest, “Wha—No, Dabi, what the hell?”
He just shrugged, the intensity of his words almost funny to you, and as you recounted the last twenty minutes the ashes of Dabi’s cigarette fell to the floor. The dying lights of the sun streamed through your window, the smoke oddly beautiful in the glow as he handed you the last hit of his cheap cigar.
“You know why heroes are like that?” You shook your head, enjoying the numbing calm of tobacco, “It’s cause they’re spoiled. They go their entire lives being praised for everything they do so they don’t know how to take no for a fuckin’ answer,”
Apparently your smoking buddy was feeling talkative, much to your delight. His words made you pause, remembering the relieved faces of your neighbors whenever they’d see the gaudy costume Kao wore as he strode by.
“Shit... guess you’re right,” You mumbled into his side, not minding the ever-present aroma of burnt skin and smoke that clung to Dabi’s coat.
He scoffed, “I’m always right, baby,” His words earning him a pinch on the arm.
“No, you ass, just about the hero stuff,” He grinned, the staples on his dimples taut against his skin as he pulled you closer, his breath hot against your ear.
“Careful, doll, you’re starting to sound like a villain,” The drop in your stomach sent heat down your skin, yet somehow you were still shivering under his predatory gaze.
You shook your head, trying to will away the red that dusted your cheeks, “No way, my quirk isn’t strong enough to be a villain,”
He raised his eyebrow expectantly, broadly gesturing for you to go on.
“Well...” God, why is this embarrassing? “I can give people headaches.”
You didn’t know if he would laugh at you or belittle you for your meaningless quirk, but he did neither.
“Think you could practice it more? Get better at it?” He was serious, staring at you and expecting an answer.
You looked away, unable to hold his gaze, “I mean, maybe? It’s not hard to do, I guess,”
Dabi smirked, pulling you onto his lap. It felt as if the week hadn’t happened at all and you were right back where you started, your face flushing at the memories of that night. He dragged you close, eyes dark as he whispered something into your ear...
“Think you could split someone’s head open with a migraine?”
Your gut wrenched, flinching at the gory idea and making you sit up in Dabi’s lap. The atmosphere in the room hadn’t changed, his stare as menacing as before.
That is, until he started to crack up. Louder than you’d ever heard before, his fit filled the apartment until he had to cup his stomach from laughing too hard; the wheeze in his rough throat echoing around the room as your blush spread all the way down your neck.
“Oh, you asshole!” If anything, your shove against his chest only made him more giddy. The panic-fueled adrenaline was still surging through your body, unwillingly making the wetness between your thighs spread, even as you tried to wrap your head around the fact that Dabi had been fucking with you.
Your legs shook as he held on to you for balance, his cackling dying down but the shit-eating grin never leaving his face, “You were so freaked out, huh?”
“Yeah, no shit!”
He hummed, running a hand through your hair and suddenly yanking you forward, basking in the sharp yelp it brought from you, “You’re cute when you’re scared,”
You’d missed the way his scabbed lips felt on yours more than you’d ever admit. There was something about him that left you breathless, eager and questioning your life choices. Groaning into his mouth before pulling back and laving your slick tongue along his disfigured lower lip, you rolled your aching heat against him to force a truly pornographic moan from his mouth.
“Oh, fuck—” One of his hands slid down your back, grabbing your ass through your jeans, “Fucking hell, you missed me that much?”
You nodded dumbly into his shoulder, pressing chaste kisses along the ragged skin as he slid his finger past the band of your jeans, cupping your dripping sex with wide eyes.
“Goddamn, s’no way you’re this wet for me already,” His eyes were scrutinizing, trying to figure out why you were hiding into his neck, “What’s got you so worked up, doll?”
You couldn’t come up with a good excuse in time, Dabi thinking back to how your thighs had tightened up when he asked if you could kill someone, your eyes were frightened back then, yes, but there was something else. Something you wouldn’t tell him.
When the realization hit him, it hit hard.
“Holy shit, you get off on being scared?” He couldn’t believe his luck, the embarrassed groan you buried into his shoulder confirming his suspicions.
Dabi ran a hand through his hair, a childish wonder over his features, “Aren’t I fuckin’ lucky?” He sneered, pulling you back til you were at eye-level again.
“I’m gonna try something, baby,” there was an edge to his voice as he settled one hand on the small of your back, pressing your tits against his chest as he held your bra strap back with the other.
“What are you… Dabi, what are you doing?” The scent of fire and burning fabric filled the air, the ends of your bralette smoking between his fingertips, embers turning to ash and sprinkling down the couch until it was flimsy enough for Dabi to rip free, teeth sinking into your neck as he held you still to keep your skin safe.
It was jarring and a bit terrifying to be restrained against someone like Dabi without knowing his intentions. But nothing in you could deny the blinding rush of pleasure it ripped down your spine.
“It’s all starting to make sense, doll-face, I guess I was right the first time,” His hands tossed the smoking bra into hallway, reaching between you and torturously pinching and pulling on the rosy blush of your tits, “you do have a thing for villains,”
“Can’t wait to fuck that tight pussy again, doll,” Without warning he shoved your torso forward, your body bouncing against the couch, his hands flying to the button of your jeans.
“—Didn’t have time to take you right last time, didn’t get to taste you,” his words made you whimper in his grasp, keeping your legs somewhat raised as tugged down the tight denim.
You fully expected him to take you rough like before, make you choke on his cock before having his fill, but as he tugged off your black panties he crawled down the trembling body beneath him, slowly moving over your ribs, your stomach, and finally your drooling cunt.
He never broke eye contact with you as he pulled your thighs closer, keeping them spread wide as the hot fan of his breath on your pussy sent a thrill through your neglected nerves.
“I want you to scream my name,” It was an order, not a request. The unhinged tremor in his hands was unsettling, an unspoken threat hanging in the air.
Dabi’s tongue immediately found your clit, mouth wrapping around the glistening bead and sucking all at once, the moan it drew from your lips unholy. He moaned at the taste, hiking up your hips onto his shoulders.
“Christ, you’re sweet, doll, like fuckin’ candy...” He muttered in disbelief, more to himself that to you, licking a wide stripe along your drenched lips, diving into you deep enough to have your limbs spasming around him.
On instinct your hand flew to your mouth to muffle the sharp cry that the villain drew. He didn’t warn you before bringing his hand up high and slapping it into the bare skin of your thigh, a scream echoing through the living room. Distantly, you wondered if your neighbors could hear...
“Don’t you dare hide a single sound from me, slut, or this ends now,” his ultimatum was scary but the insult felt heavy in a way you’d never felt before, and you nodded without a second thought, breathlessly bunching one hand into the arm of the couch above you and the other into the ashy black of his hair.
You nodded down to him, silently saying to continue; the villain fixed on watching as your chest swelled in time with your breathing, a rush of blood going to the heat of his cock.
His pace was hungry, nipping at your thighs whenever he thought you were too comfortable, spinning circles into your clit with his tongue and chuckling at the noises it brought, “You gonna cum, princess?” You could only respond with a scream of his name, the plea music to his ears, but he needed you to be louder if he was to get what he wanted.
“Louder,” Dabi called your name like a prayer, moaning into your cunt as you practically suffocated him between your thighs, “Fuck—Louder, baby, scream it,”
“Dabi!!” Your orgasm was hot against his tongue and he drank in every last drop of your climax until you were wrenching away his greedy mouth, your pussy swollen and red from his care.
Just as you started to compose yourself, a frantic banging sounded on the door. Someone from the hallway was slamming down their fist, screaming your name.
“Hey! Did you just say Dabi?! Are you okay in there?” It was Kao.
Horror clawed away any kind of afterglow as you cupped your hand to your mouth, leaning up on your elbow and whispering, “What do I say?”
Dabi’s voice was just low enough to hide behind the pounding of Kao’s fists, “Do you trust me?”
Before you could answer the hero behind the wall called your name again.
“If you don’t answer me in five seconds I’m breaking this door down!”
Your gaze flickered from the front door to the villain that was wiping your slick from his chin.
“Yes,”
Dabi grinned, grabbing your wrists and holding you against his shirt, one hand wrapped painfully around your tits and the other erupting with blue fire in his palm.
“Come and get her, hero!” You made a confused squeal, thrashing around in his grasp, eyes wide and afraid as Dabi shushed into your ear, trying to calm you down.
‘Like hell if you’d calm down, he’d practically just signed your death sentence!’ you heaved against the fugitive, trying to shake yourself free to no avail.
All you could do was squeeze your eyes shut and imagine you were somewhere else as door was jolted in its hinges, the doorknob falling with a distant clang, and before you could beg Dabi to stop whatever stupid game he was playing, Kao ran into the room, eyes furrowed and fists raised as the door squeaked on the loose hinges behind him, blissfully unaware.
“Where are y—“ Kao’s voice paused mid-sentence, you flinched in Dabi’s hold, the heat of the redhead’s stare washing over you, naked and wet, making you tilt your head down, trying to hide yourself from the world.
“Isn’t she cute, hero?” Dabi rasped against you, the heat of his fire illuminated against the sweaty sheen of your trembling body. Kao didn’t know what to do, flustered and struggling to hide the tent in his latex costume.
You knew fighting back against the villain was pointless, falling limp in the strength of his arms as he chuckled into your neck, looking over at the bump in his pants, “You were right, babe, I think he likes you,”
“Get your filthy hands off of her!” Kao screamed, diving towards the couch with his fist raised back.
Dabi simply grinned, carefully hovering his flame ever closer to your now bare tits, you couldn’t help but scream at the proximity, and whatever plan Kao had in his mind died before his fist could make impact.
His novocaine laced voice spoke calmly beside your ear, “Any closer and she’s dead,” The hot rush down your legs wasn’t due to his flames, as one hand took to rubbing your sensitive sex, the sounds it elicited from you unintentional and mortifying under the presence of Kao in the room.
“What... what do you want, you bastard?” Dabi laughed at that one, tweaking your clit between his fingers and conducting the most beautiful notes from your pillowy lips.
“I think It’s pretty obvious what I want, don’t you think?” Your name on his lips sent you keening against him despite the inferno roaring inches away from your skin. He couldn’t move without Dabi’s flames hovering ever closer to your heaving chest, and to Kao, you were very clearly about to die. Although you didn’t believe Dabi would hurt you, he had asked you to trust him before he got Kao’s attention, after all, the line between foreplay and conflagration was becoming blurry.
Kao backed up into the half wall that separated the living room from the kitchen, barely making an effort to try and hide his erection anymore, “I’ll send you to fucking Tartarus for this, Dabi.”
“Oooo, scary,” His unlit hand trailed down your jawline, tilting you to his side until he could slide his tongue into your open lips, humming into your mouth, “What do you think, doll?
“Dabi, please... wait,“ The strength in your voice wasn’t as heated as before, and even you had to admit it sounded half-assed.
Kao’s quirk must be no good for long range because all he could do was stand there, trying to avert his eyes from your drooling cunt in favor of glaring daggers at the coy villain pulling soft mewls from your lips, “I swear... I’ll see you rot in prison for this. You’ll be fucking executed, you rapist—“
“—woah, woah, that stings, hero. Doll, is that really what I’m doin’?” You groaned, not exactly answering because you couldn’t hear the question, your eyes still shut tight in embarrassment.
The growl in his voice sent another soaking rush towards your pussy, as his hand grabbed you jaw, pulling you up, “Look at me,” Your eyes widened at the sight of Dabi so close to you, his chest warm against your back, the aches of your last orgasm fading into something new.
“Tell me to stop, princess, your call,” Time stood still as Dabi kissed a soft pathway along your neck, weirdly gentle as he listened for your response, his clothed hard-on pressed firmly against your ass.
Too flustered to speak, you merely wrenched your arm free from his grasp, carding you hand through his hair and pulling him to your desperate lips. You could feel him tug into a smirk against you as your hips eagerly ground themselves on him despite the audience.
Kao choked on his own spit, stepping backwards, but stopped when Dabi aimed his ignited hand towards the hero who was having difficulty piecing together your actions in his head. “What,” His voice cracked when he called out your name, “are you...?”
Dabi pulled away, a feral glint in the blue hidden beneath his hair as he licked a disgustingly wet stripe along your cheek, chest rumbling behind you as you squirmed at the gross feeling, “I’m still gonna need you to beg, sweetheart.”
Your dignity was hanging by a thread, hinging on whether or not you followed his lead, but the insane buzz your anxiety had stirred up under Kao’s confused stare and Dabi’s aching cock was impossible to ignore. He rut himself into the dripping curve of your ass, his jeans soaked with your slick as you found the courage to speak.
“Fuh...” Carefully, Dabi pressed a loving kiss to your temple, his stare fixated on Kao’s as you strung the syllables together, “Fuck me, Dabi,”
The hero couldn’t believe his ears. She’d turned him down countless times despite his pursuits, yet she was somehow fine with this? Kao briefly thought that perhaps his crush was a villain this whole time, but that couldn’t make sense with her weak quirk.
You felt Dabi twitch beneath you, the shameless way you showed yourself off was as humiliating as it was hot, and he laughed in lightheaded disbelief against the back of your neck, taking your ass in one hand and slipping the other down his pants, tugging off the painful metal zipper until his boxers were pulled down just enough for his cock to finally be met with the soft warmth of your cunt.
“As the lady commands,” Dabi grinned, reaching around your waist to take his pierced dick in his hand, rubbing and tapping his swollen head deliberately against your clit, pre-cum drenching your pussy as you felt boneless in his arms.
“Ah-! St..S-top tea-sing, Dabi!” You babbled, squirming to try and find an escape from his grasp or maybe trying to force him inside you, but all your struggling did was make him harder. But before you could beg, you froze at the sight of Kao a few feet away, his legs bending into a sprinter’s pose. He was going to run?
Dabi was having none of it, a controlled jet of flame grazing Kao’s knee, scalding the skin beneath the latex. The hero cried out into the bite of his fist, collapsing into the wall a few feet away.
“Nah, hero. You’re not leaving just yet,” The villain rearranged you on his lap, “See, the thought of you jerking off to my girl? It kinda pisses me off, actually,”
The color in Kao’s face drained as he had no choice but to sit and watch as Dabi slowly sunk you down on top of him, one hand drawing soft circles into your stomach as you reveled in the feeling of his piercings hot against every part of you.
“Though, I’m wondering, what did you think about, huh?” Kao sputtered, unable to form words just like you, formless noises falling from your lips.
His scarred hands grasped at the flesh of your thighs, raising you up only to shove you back onto his cock, the flames that still extended to threaten Kao suddenly flared up in time with his thrusts, the weight of him felt so much deeper at this angle and it was hard to breathe, let alone speak.
“I... nothing! I didn’t—“ Another whip of fire cut through the room from Dabi’s fingertips, a cast of blue leaving bubbling skin in its wake, pain flashing across Kao’s face.
“Fuckin’ liar,” You yelped as Dabi shoved you down, moaning into your ear as you squeezed against him, sobbing his name into his chest as he picked up a steady pace in your guts.
Kao cried out, stuttering and gripping along the inflamed line of skin, “I-I thought— thought about her... fuck— I just wanted her to suck me off, alright? There, I said it! Are you happy now?”
He must’ve realized the mistake in his words as soon as he said them, squeezing your eyes shut but having no choice but to smell the stench of burning flesh and hear the sound of muffled screaming as it filled your apartment, “Can’t blame you though, her mouth is God,”
Your hands scrambled for balance against Dabi as the screaming of his victim made him downright feral, filling your tight heat so well it had you crying.
“Damn, you’re soaked for me, doll, I just knew you were a kinky fuck deep down. You’re a slutty little girl for me, aren’t ya?”
As much as it hurt to admit it, he was right. He was painfully right, and you told him so. The unhinged, unstoppable force that was Dabi ignited a passion in you that’d never been fed before. He was torturing the hero you hated all while taking your cunt in deep, harsh thrusts, the metal imbedded into his cock and his chest behind you were blisteringly hot against your skin.
“Tell him, baby,” His question fell on deaf ears, your tongue lolling from your mouth a bit at the pleasure.
It caught you off guard when he drew his hand back and slapped you across the cheek, a blistering red handprint in its wake, saying your name so softly, turning off his quirk to run his hands through your hair, he whispered, “Tell that fucking hero who you belong to,”
The world tipped over as Dabi gripped your shoulders, pushing you onto the wooden coffee table so your ass stuck in the air. In an instant he was on you again, pounding into your cunt with a glazed fervor, your words downright biblical in his ears.
“On-ly... Dabi ca—Ngh, Only Dabi can fuck me this good,” You forced the words from your throat, thankful for the table serving as an impartial shoulder to cry on as Dabi lined himself up with your cunt.
“More, princess,” The snap of his hips had you drooling onto the table, catching sight of Kao’s slumped body in the corner as Dabi’s breath sounded much louder than before.
“Fuck, baby—” You cried, craning your neck back to look at him. Sweat glistened at the crown of his dark hair, steam shading his breath as he took you hard, “Your cock is— shit its so deep in me,”
Your nerves were spent from exhaustion as he railed you, being more vocal than before as he choked at the feeling of your walls tightening around him, his fingernails digging future bruises into your hip dips, “Wanna feel you cum in me, want you to fill me up— Dabi, wanna make you feel good,”
“Fuck, doll, I can’t...” He ground his teeth together, making you squeal as he mounted you from behind, spreading your legs out wide so you had no way to hide yourself, “Gonna fuck’n cum-gonna cum in you- fuck, fuck, fuck—!“
You both hit your highs at the same time, Dabi accidentally digging your face into the wood as he held you as tightly to him as possible, his cum running hot due to his quirk as he pumped you full, that broken cry of yours like music to his ears, humping you a few times to ride out his climax.
You felt warm and safe, Dabi’s weight a comfortable blanket even with your shivering skin pressed naked into the coffee table. However, the quietly groaning hero in the corner made you quickly come back down to earth.
“Dabi... did you kill him?” Your voice was small beneath him, but he just shrugged.
“Nah, not yet, don’t worry,” He kissed your neck one more time, his thumb rubbing circles into your indented stomach, pulling you off the table and back into his arms.
He pulled out of you and grinned at the sight of his release spilling down your thighs, “Damn...” he whispered, taking in the sight with a satisfied whistle, “C’mon Doll, forget about him.”
You were grateful he carried you bridal style to your bedroom, your legs gelatin at this point, and as he laid you down to rest he grabbed one of your discarded shirts that hadn’t made it to the hamper and wiped down the remains of sex from your twitching cunt before leaving the cum-stained top ignored on the ground.
“You doing good, baby? Didn’t go too hard, did I?” His concern was diminished somewhat by the grin on his face, satisfied with the mumbling, love-drunk form he’d reduced you to.
Shaking your head, you burrowed into the warm blankets, peeking your eyes out from beyond the covers in a way that even Dabi couldn’t deny was pretty cute, “No, just... what are you gonna do with Kao?”
His face was unreadable as he leaned closer, “Do you really want to know?”
Truth be told, no, you didn’t, you were just a civilian, far removed from the complex fight between heroes and villains. You were only in this situation because you’d grown to care about Dabi. In some small, sarcastic way, he’d wormed his way into your life, and he hadn’t hurt you so far, only going as close as possible to bring you over the edge again and again.
“No...”
“Good answer,” he stood up, tucking himself back into his jeans as he went back into the living room. You heard a muffled thud and what sounded like Dabi cursing before he reappeared in your bedroom, Kao’s unconscious body slung over his shoulder. For such a wiry guy, Dabi was pretty strong. Moving to the open window he basically threw Kao’s body onto the outside metal grating, his lungs uneven after carrying him.
Just as he swung his leg onto the windowsill you shot up in your bed, hand outstretched, “Wait!”
He turned back to look at you, genuinely confused as to what you could want.
“Kiss me before you go?”
He froze, then grinned, scoffing at the innocent gesture you gave so openly to a murderer like him. There had to be something wrong with his little villain-in-training to make her okay with it, just like him. Dabi ignored that thought for another day, striding forward and finally giving you the goodbye kiss you’d been denied last time, his tongue trying to map out every detail in case he could ever forget before pulling away with a warm softness to his ocean eyes.
“I think I might be starting to like you, Doll,” A feint rush of color fell on his unmarred skin and you’re sure your heart stopped beating for a good three seconds.
His words were a worn record being played over and over in your head long after he crawled down your fire escape, the teasing, sated haze in his voice hidden beneath a rasp of smoke. You weren’t sure how much he meant what he said, but you’re sure that the first thing you said in return was exactly what he wanted to hear; at least judging from the boyish smile that lit up his face when you said it.
“Come back soon, okay?”
“Okay,”

Not my gif
It was one of McCree’s rare days off, and he had insisted on taking you out for the evening to one of his old local haunts, an old bar in the middle of Deadlock Grange. The entire town may have had some less than savoury memories, but he was hoping that spending some time there with you would clear those away or at least push them to the side.  All he wanted was to share a drink with you on a day off, hear you laugh and see you smile at something stupid he’s said. That was his plan- share drinks with you (preferably something involving whisky for himself), maybe get a little less sober and have some real quality time together, away from the buzz of the Overwatch complex.
That was his plan. Initially, things had gone really well- you were now a couple of drinks in, and absolutely loving your time together. You personally couldn’t see why Deadlock Grange was so bad, even after all the tales you had been told. Jesse had gone to get the third round for the pair of you, more than happy to be paying for all of these drinks.  Whilst he was gone, someone else saddled up on the stool behind you. You didn’t think anything of it at first, anyone in the facility had right to sit at the bar, rather than at at table. It was when he started speaking to you that the problems started to arise.
“Well, hey there, doll,” He greeted, leaning closer to you- so close that you could smell the alcohol on his breath; practically taste it as you turned to give him a distasteful look, to try and show him you were not in any way interested. However, he seemed to take this as the exact opposite of what you had intended. He shuffled so that he sat on the edge of his seat, his face mere inches from your own.  “Haven’t seen you round here before... You new?”  “Not exactly, could you please-”  “Show you around? Sure thing... I’d love to...” He gave you a lopsided grin, brushing some of his greasy, auburn locks from his forehead, clearly trying to make himself appear more attractive. It didn’t work very well at all.  “No, that’s not what I was going to say.” You reply, giving him another disgusted look. He seemed to pout a little bit at your words, but you did not cave in to those green faux puppy eyes.  “Shame...” He half laments. “I could’ve shown you my place.. Real special, I think you’d like it. ‘Specially the bedroom.” He gave you a sly wink that made your skin crawl.
You move to turn away from him again, but he puts his hand on your shoulder and pulls you back. “Oh come on, now, doll.” He coos. “Don’t be that way, I was being so nice to you, weren’t I?” He pauses, quirking his brow. “Or did you want something more?” He started to grin- but not the kind of grin you would have wanted to see on someone’s face. This one was sick, and twisted, and outright vile. He used his hand on your shoulder to slowly but surely pull you closer to him, till you were practically sitting on his lap. His arms were like the coils of a constrictor as they slowly wrapped themselves around you, holding you in place and preventing your plan of escape.
You heard someone clearing their throat near McCree’s seat- sure enough, it was the gunslinger himself. “’Scuse me, sir.” The needless honourific was drenched in Southern venom, a poison you hadn’t heard him use often at all. This kind of tone was used for people like Reyes or O’Deorain- people who had wronged him substantially, and caused his blood to boil even to this day.  The man turned his eyes to Jesse, giving an unsavoury look in his direction. “Can I help you?” He quipped back, and though your eyes were fixed on McCree, you could hear the snarl on your aggressor’s face.  “Yeah, actually.” Jesse put the tray of drinks- two pints and some shots- on the surface of the bar. They landed with a clank, and it was surprising that they didn’t topple over or break with the force of the landing. “That’s my girl,” He gestured to you as he spoke. The man just scoffed.  “Yeah I don’t think that she is.” He replied with a roll of his eyes. This just infuriated Jesse; you didn’t think you’d ever seen such fire flash behind those earthy irises of his.
His hands started to ball into fists by his sides as he tried desperately to keep his nerve. “I suggest that you step away from ‘er, right now.” He warned, his tone dark and dangerous. You could just tell he was seconds from snapping, and you’d never even seen him this angry before.  “And what if I don’t, huh? What’re you gonna do?” The man challenged, “I could give you a new one of those, real easy.” He gestured to McCree’s metal arm. “You can’t do shit, cowboy.” The man slowly got to his feet, flicking the brim of Jesse’s hat as he finished his sentence.
It was then that McCree snapped. He grabbed the collar of the man’s shirt and yanked him away from you- with such a force that it caused Jesse’s victim to yelp, and not quietly either. It caused close tables to stop their conversation, as McCree started to drag the man who tried to woo his girl, his sugarcube outside. It was something he simply could not accept, something that could not go unpunished. Once he had gotten the man onto the dusty road outside the bar, he tossed him to the ground face first.  “You stay the fuck away from her!” He growled, kicking the man back down when he tried to get up. The man’s auburn hair stuck to his face and got in his eyes as he groaned.  “I didn’t even do anything!” He protested weakly.  “You tried, and that’s what I’m angry about. You leave her the fuck alone, or you’ll be gettin’ more than some bruises, I promise ya that!” He vowed, and even this stranger seemed to get the memo. Finally.
With that final threat, Jesse returned to you- taking off his hat and placing it on the bar as he sat beside you. “Sorry about that, sugarcube....” He apologised, seeming genuinely remorseful that he had left you alone, even for a moment. “And for losin’ my cool...” He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he spoke. You placed a hand on his, showing him some affection to comfort him.  “It’s fine Jesse... I liked it, really.” You chuckled, brushing some of his deep brown locks from his brow. “It shows you care... And it was pretty damn sexy.”  McCree looked at you for a moment, slightly baffled, before he began to smile, reaching for one of the drinks still on the tray. “Well, if that’s the case... I’m mighty relieved I could be of assistance to ya...” He took a small sip of his drink, before he felt your warm lips against the stubble on his cheek.  “You know, cowboy, I meant it when I said that was sexy...” You whisper to him. He seems to get your hint, and starts to chuckle.  “Finish your drink off, pumpkin.” He tells you, “Then maybe I’ll give you a lil’ something’.” He winked at you- and his wink was one you genuinely adored; it sent shivers down your spine and made butterflies flutter in your stomach.  “Alright, cowboy...” You smirk, picking up your drink, starting to sip at it. It will be a fun night indeed..

Gold Rush (Sebastian Stan x Reader)
[Actors-Masterlist]
Gold Rush [1] / You’re Not Sorry [2] / This Is Me Trying [3] / [4] (soon)
Summary: Your career was blossoming, especially with your new role in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. Working on set was a dream come true. It was never your intention to fall for one of your coworkers. Not when you knew that he would never look at you that way.
Words: 2,637
Warnings: language, it’s Anthony Mackie’s world & we’re just living in it, angst, feeeeeels, maybe I cried, maybe I didn’t, we’ll never know, REQUESTS ARE OPEN!
Inspired by: “gold rush” by Taylor Swift
If you like my work & wanna support me: a coffee would be highly appreciated ❤
Gleaming, twinkling
Eyes like sinking ships on waters
So inviting, I almost jump in
You scored big time when you were casted in the upcoming Marvel series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. Working alongside Anthony Mackie & Sebastian Stan had been more than you had ever wished for. The atmosphere on set was harmonious. Everything would have been fine if it were not for your stupid crush on your fellow castmate. Mackie picked up on the fact that you liked Sebastian almost immediately & he teased you about it one too many times. No matter how obvious his teasing, it seemed like Sebastian was completely oblivious to it. Or he acted as if he had no clue. You were not quite sure about that.
The press tour was going strong, which meant that Seb, Mackie & you were teamed up for every interview. Now, that was not something that bothered you too much. After all, you were more than comfortable around them. But when some interviewers did not know where the line was, you got frustrated. Like, okay, we got it. Everyone with eyes knew Seb was hot. But as an interviewer, you should know when to stop. Shamelessly flirting in front of the camera with basically a stranger? Sorry, but you had no explanation for such a behavior. Yes, some interviewers flirted with you, too. But you were great when it came to brushing them off while staying polite. Of course, Mackie’s teasing did not make this any easier for you. Every now & then, he would bring up the chemistry you & Seb shared on screen. And off screen. Like usual, you laughed at him & so did Seb. During interviews, you teased each other a lot, it was a playful manner you all enjoyed. And the audience loved the three of you for it.
Sometimes, when Seb answered a question that had him explain scenes with you or something similar, you hated the butterflies you felt inside. You hated how your cheeks warmed up. You hated that he had such an effect on you. You hated Seb. You hated him for being so perfect. You hated him for being a literal God. You hated him for ruining every other man for you. Because nobody could ever compare to him. And you said that even though you were not even in a relationship. Hell, you were not the only person who looked at him that way. If the interviews were not proof enough, a look at social media did the job, too.
But I don't like a gold rush, gold rush
I don't like anticipating my face in a red flush
I don't like that anyone would die to feel your touch
Everybody wants you
Everybody wonders what it would be like to love you
Walk past, quick brush
I don't like slow motion double vision in rose blush
I don't like that falling feels like flying 'til the bone crush
Everybody wants you
But I don't like a gold rush
“So (Y/N)…” the man sitting opposite of you started. It was not a lot of times that questions were directed at you. Usually, people were more excited to talk to the guys. No offense taken. “The chemistry between Sebastian & you can be felt even after such a short trailer. My question is…are you two, like, a thing?” of course. If you got a question, it was about your love life or about how great you looked in your suit. The others got complex & well thought through questions & you got this shit. Internally rolling your eyes, you stayed professional & answered casually.
“Sebby & I are friends. We work well together. We know each other well enough to communicate with our eyes, body language & so on. Some people mistake that for dating, apparently.” finishing off with a sarcastic chuckle, you had to hide the fact that you wished that there was more between you two.
“I gotta say. Even I think they’re dating sometimes.” Mackie smirked when he spoke up which earned him a light slap from you. Seb only hid his face behind his hand & laughed quietly. It was nothing new. You were used to his teasing by now. Looking over at Seb, you could not help but admire him. Even when he was embarrassed, to you, he was the most beautiful person on this planet. Not a single flaw. Just…perfect. If only you had enough courage to do something about your damn feelings.
What must it be like to grow up that beautiful?
With your hair falling into place like dominoes
I see me padding across your wooden floors
With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door
“Stop that.” Mackie walked over to where you were sitting. Finally, you had a break after hours of giving interview after interview. Looking up, your face turned into one of pure confusion.
“Stop what?” he exaggeratedly rolled his eyes at your question.
“The daydreaming.” it was a simple statement. But why would he tell you to stop that?
“What? Is it forbidden to daydream now?” chuckling at him, you offered him one of your coffee cups. Your handler brought you two because you had not slept much that night. But Mackie needed one just as much & he gladly accepted it. Still, he could tell that you were trying to change the topic. Not with him, though. Sitting beside you, he sighed loudly.
“Why don’t you just tell him?” he looked straight forward when he asked that question. Your face fell at his words but maybe, maybe, if you played dumb, you could get out of this conversation without any awkwardness.
“Tell who what?” your innocent eyes bore into his side profile & you saw him shaking his head slightly. A low chuckle escaped him.
“Tell Seb you like him or I will.” he stated & your eyes widened in fear.
“You wouldn’t dream of it.” exclaiming frantically, you grew more nervous at the thought.
“I wouldn’t trust that thought.” & after a few seconds of silence, you breathed out loudly.
“Yeah, sure. And I’d risk our friendship for that? Forget it.”
“He likes you, too, you know?” he casually stated. Your face changed, but only for a second. He was wrong. Someone like Seb could never like you back.
“Stop, Mackie. Don’t just run around assuming shit.” you pushed his shoulder playfully but it did not do too much. What a surprise.
“My running around assuming shit isn’t assuming. It’s facts. You guys are awful, by the way. It’s exhausting, watching you two trying to dodge your feelings. Why can’t you just, I don’t know, get everything sorted out & be happy together? If someone deserves that, it’s you.” yes, Mackie could be sarcastic but when push came to shove, he could be serious, too. And that last part, he meant by heart. Was it true? Did Seb like you? More than a friend? Maybe you should just tell him. Life was too short to be filled with what if’s. It was now or never, right?
At dinner parties, I call you out on your contrarian shit
And the coastal town we wandered 'round had never seen a love as pure as it
And then it fades into the gray of my day-old tea
'Cause it could never be
Wrapping up for today, the three of you decided to grab some take-out & eat it back inside your hotel. After quickly showering & dressing more comfortably, you made your way over to Seb’s room. Mackie was already there, he texted you at least ten times to hurry up because they were starving to death. Dramatic diva. Knocking softly, a smile spread across your face when Seb opened the door. Stepping aside to let you in, you greeted Mackie briefly. He was already eating so why the hell was he rushing you earlier? He could be such a child. Seb handed you your food & motioned for you to take a seat on the bed. Take-out in a hotel bed? It should be illegal. Usually, you were not one for eating in bed but whenever you where staying at a hotel, it became some sort of a routine for you. Same for the guys. For a while, the three of you just talked & ate your food. Conversation always flowed easily with them. You knew all of their secrets & they knew all of yours. Well, except for Seb having no clue about your silly crush on him. When he & Mackie discussed a topic you did not know too much about to actually engage in their conversation, you found yourself stealing glances at Seb. If it were not enough for him to be so gorgeous, of course he had the best personality to match that. God really took his time with him. And the weirdest thing of it all was that Seb never let that thought get the best of him. He was aware of people admiring him but that never changed him.
'Cause I don't like a gold rush, gold rush
I don't like anticipating my face in a red flush
I don't like that anyone would die to feel your touch
Everybody wants you
Everybody wonders what it would be like to love you
Walk past, quick brush
I don't like slow motion double vision in rose blush
I don't like that falling feels like flying 'til the bone crush
Everybody wants you
But I don't like a gold rush
Mackie got a phone call & said goodbye to you before leaving the room. Which meant that Seb & you were alone. It was nothing special, the two of you spent a lot of time together. This time, though, you wanted to confess to him. Finally, you wanted to tell him how you felt. Could you live with the rejection? Well, if things turned in that direction, you had no choice but to. Seb’s lips moved but no sound came out. You zoned out & simply stared at him. Your thoughts were running wild. The sun had already started setting & the golden light illuminated his features in such a beautiful way. It almost looked like a movie scene. He was the masterpiece others could not keep their eyes from. You were this close to speaking up, taking a deep breath for preparation. This could change your bond with him forever.
What must it be like to grow up that beautiful?
With your hair falling into place like dominoes
My mind turns your life into folklore
I can't dare to dream about you anymore
A phone ringing interrupted you. It was not yours. But Seb pulled his phone out of his pocket. The moment he saw the notification, he started smiling so brightly. The smile you had grown to love so much. It brought a grin to your face, too. The things this man could do to you, completely unaware of the effect he had on you.
“What?” you asked when he could not stop staring at his phone. Had Mackie sent him a message?
“Nothing, it’s just…” he stopped before saying too much but you were having none of it.
“Aw, come on, Sebby. You can tell me anything.” encouraging him, your hand found its way on his shoulder, squeezing lightly. Seb seemed almost shy right now. And this was weird because he usually was everything but shy when he talked to you.
“There’s this girl & she’s just…amazing.” your face fell the moment he started talking. No. “I asked her for dinner but when she hadn’t replied after hours, I started losing hope. She just messaged me back.” his smile was sheepish & you hated that you had to admit that he looked happy right now. Genuinely happy. But you were not the reason of his happiness. Another girl was.
“And? What did she say?” deep down, you knew the answer & you actually did not want him to say it out loud. But you were best friends, after all, it was kind of your duty.
“I got myself a date. I’m going on a date with her, (Y/N)!” he beamed & pulled you into a big hug. One, that made the butterflies act out. Fuck, that hurt.
“That’s great, Sebby. I’m happy for you! You deserve it.” your excitement for him was fake but the sincerity behind your last words were not. If one person on this planet deserved endless love & happiness, it was him. Mackie was wrong. Seb had never liked you. Not in that way, at least. And his date saved you from embarrassing yourself & ruining your friendship. That did not change the fact that you felt like crying right now. You could not shed tears in front of him, could not show how much it actually affected you. No. You had to fake a smile. And that shit hurt like a bitch.
At dinner parties I won't call you out on your contrarian shit
And the coastal town we never found will never see a love as pure as it
'Cause it fades into the gray of my day-old tea
'Cause it will never be
“Something’s wrong with you.” Mackie stated at breakfast. No shit, Sherlock.
“What makes you think that?” feigning innocence, you rolled your eyes when you saw the look he was giving you.
“Clearly, you’re upset. Did something happen after I left you with Seb yesterday?” he hit the nail on the head with his assumption.
“Yeah.” was all you answered. His eyebrows raised, he waited for you to continue. But when he noticed that you were not planning on engaging in any more conversation with him, he pressed further.
“Did you tell him? Did he mess up?” if Seb messed up, he would kill him. There was no other person who was better for him than you. The two of you deserved each other. And everyone seemed to realize that but you.
“I wanted to tell him.” admitting quietly.
“But?”
“He got a notification.” your short answers made Mackie freak out. He grew frustrated with you when you dragged out this entire conversation.
“(Y/N), come on.” he urged.
“Sebby has a date.”
“With you? But that’s great.” his smile was small but present. Did you finally realize that you were feeling so much more for each other?
“With another girl.” then you looked up at his face, your eyes glossy. Clearly, you were trying to keep it together but he could tell that you had a hard time doing so. Yes, Mackie would kill Seb. He could have sworn that Seb only had eyes for you. The stolen glances, the efforts to make time to spend more with you. What the fuck was going on? When he saw your first tear falling, he wasted no time in pulling you in for a hug. You were broken, all because of one man. But the thing was that he was not just any man. He was Seb. Your best friend. Your everything. But he would never be yours. Not in a million years. Because he only saw you as a friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
It was not like you did not have options. Hell, you declined so many people over the time. All because of him. And you were afraid that this would not change anytime soon. Because you did not think you would ever get over him. Your heart was ripped into a million pieces & the only person who could help you fix it was getting excited over his upcoming date. Whatever you thought could be between you guys, it was nothing but a dream. Something that could never be.
Gleaming, twinkling
Eyes like sinking ships on waters
So inviting, I almost jump in

“Thank you.”
You smiled to the delivery boy as you showed him where to place the fragile artefacts the museum had just received. It was your job to evaluate whether they were of any value, and if so, whether it was more prudent for them to be sold to someone else or put on display for people to visit.
The moment you were left alone, you’d opened the smallest box in order to determine where these artefacts were from, more specifically, when. You picked up, what appeared to be, a device of some sorts, fit with several random gears. Evaluating the rust and corrosion, you noted on your clipboard that this may have been a Cypriot artefact from the early Bronze Age.
As you made your way through the other boxes, you were about a quarter of the way through when you noticed that all of these antiquities appeared to originate from the Mediterranean. And you knew the perfect person to help explain more about their culture to you.
You gently placed the artefact you were currently examining back in its respective box, locked your office door and made your way to the senior anthropologist who was an expert on the culture.
Lifting a closed fist, you lightly knocked on the door and waited patiently for the door to open, smiling at the person who stood in the door frame when it did.
“Afternoon Miss Prince, are you free for a quick chat?”
You didn’t know Diana Prince all that well, having only interacted on a number of occasions but each time you had, she was incredibly kind and friendly. She had been at the museum longer than you had and was one of the first people to introduce themselves to you and make you feel welcome.
Honestly, there wasn’t much that you knew about her.
She was an enigma.
In the broadest of terms, that was.
By definition, an enigma is someone who is mysterious and difficult to understand.
Now, whilst the brunette was definitely mysterious, she was, by no means, difficult to understand.
One look in her eyes and you immediately saw her for all that she was.
She may not have said more than 5 words to you, but her eyes told you a story. Someone who had gone through immense hurt but remained kind and bright, even in the darkest of times.
Her eyes were beautiful, as was the rest of her. Though that did seem like an oversimplification. She was a goddess, as if sculpted by the Gods themselves - how true that was, you didn’t know yet - and despite that, she never seemed to let her beauty be her one overriding factor. She was extremely smart and intelligent and so much more. Which was why you enlisted her help.
“Of course. Please take a seat.” She said, smiling when you did. “So, how can I help you, Miss L/N?”
“Please, call me y/n. Miss L/N makes me sound like my mother.” You joked.
“Well, then please call me Diana.” She replied in her accent that you couldn’t quite distinguish.
You nodded, “So I’ve just recently come into possession of some ancient artefacts. As you know, I’m required to estimate their value and decide what the museum should do with them. However, it seems that the artefacts I’ve currently examined, all appear to be specific to Mediterranean culture. Now considering you’re our resident expert on that, I figured-”
“That I could come and help you determine it’s authenticity and explain more about them.” Diana finished.
“Exactly. But if you’re too busy, I compl-”
“No, it’s okay.” She interrupted quickly. Clearing her throat, she continued, “I’d be happy to help. I’m glad you came to me, y/n.”
Your lips curved in a smile as you fought to keep the blush that would have certainly risen to your cheeks.
“Shall we?” You asked, standing up, about to head back to your office.
“Lead the way.”
***
For the next month or so, you found yourself working quite closely with the anthropologist, the Smithsonian board having told you both that they wanted you to help create a display for the artefacts to be put on show for the community. Though that meant more work for you, you were secretly grateful because, truth be told, you found yourself developing feelings for the brunette. But you never said a word, knowing she wouldn’t feel the same about you.
You were working late one night, about to leave, before you noticed the light that was on in one of the hallways. Apart from you, you knew that the only person who’d ever stay this late at the museum was Diana. Her, seemingly more committed to her job than you once realised.
Knocking on the door, you waited until you heard a quiet “come in” before entering the office room.
Neatly placed around the room were several boxes, more than likely filled with paperwork and published papers. Her navy leather sofa sat at the far end of the room with a coat draped over one of the arm rests. In front of you, was Diana’s desk. It was as tidy as the rest of the room, papers orderly placed at the ends of the desk, a small lamp placed at the corner and a computer which Diana had been typing on.
Her face softened into a smile when she saw you and she sat up against her chair.
“Hey, y/n. What’s up?”
“Not much. I was just about to head home but since I saw your light on, I figured I’d come by and say goodnight.”
“That’s sweet. Since you’re here, why don’t I walk you out? I was planning on going home myself.”
“Sounds good.”
She grabbed her coat from the sofa and put it on. After locking her door, she walked beside you towards the entrance of the museum.
“You know, it’s a beautiful night and it’s not that late either, why don’t we get dinner?”
You stopped in your path for a brief moment before continuing to walk.
She was asking you to dinner.
Holy shit.
You knew it wasn’t a date since you had had several dinners together whilst working at the artefacts.
But the idea that it could have been still excited you.
And terrified you.
“Yeah, I’d love to.”
You had eaten at this cute restaurant, sitting outdoors so you could both bask in the stars. You’d fallen into easy conversation with the brunette, never experiencing any awkwardness or uncomfortable silences. You talked about nothing and everything; every time you made her laugh, you couldn’t help but smile yourself because her laughter was genuine and brought warmth to you.
“I’ve enjoyed tonight, Diana.”
“Me too. I know you don’t get out much so I figured you deserved a break.”
“Hey! What do you mean ‘I don’t get out much’?” You said, feigning being offended while truthfully, you were failing to hide a laugh.
“I’m not judging. Just...making an observation.” Diana laughed.
“Hmm sure. Well, how about you? Are you out often?”
“No, not really.”
“Wow. Now look who’s not a social butterfly.” You joked.
“Yep, we’re just two peas in a pod, huh y/n?” Diana said, smirking when she saw a light blush of red on your cheeks.
***
After that night, you found yourself regularly going out to dinner with Diana and it was getting harder to hide how you felt.
Sometimes, you had a sliver of hope that she felt the same way because she would make excuses to touch you, whether it be gently brushing her hand against yours or stroking her hand against your arm.
But you immediately quelled those thoughts. There was no way someone as beautiful, sweet and smart as Diana would like you.
Shaking your head, as if to rid the thoughts from your mind once more, you walked through the alley that was a shortcut to your apartment.
Abruptly, you felt yourself pushed up against the brick wall, a knife against your throat. You fought the urge to scream, knowing any movement with the sharp blade that close to you would certainly result in bleeding.
“Good girl. Be quiet and don’t scream. Otherwise the next piece of trash left in this alley will be you.”
The moon allowed for you to get a better look at the man holding himself against you. You only saw his face, however, his mouth curved into a creepy smile, reminiscent of Dr Seuss’ The Grinch.
“You are a pretty one, aren’t you?” Even his voice felt slimy, bringing a look of disgust on your face.
“Fuck off.” You said, showing no fear. Oddly, you found yourself feeling calm. Some people may fight and others may flee. But of course, you taunt and curse.
“Oh, you’re going to be fun.”
You readied yourself for anything that may happen, waiting for the opportunity where the blade’s pressure would lighten, allowing you to kick this guy and run away.
But before you could, you felt all pressure against you immediately leave. Looking up, you caught a glimpse of a woman in armour pulling the man off you with, what appeared to be, a glowing yellow rope. The man still held within the rope, she jumped up on the roof and disappeared.
But not before the moonlight had provided some clarity as to who this mysterious figure was.
It was her eyes.
You had difficulty sleeping that night. It was not the attempted assault that had kept you up though, it was the woman who had saved you. You recognised her eyes but the more you thought about it, the more perplexed you became. There was no way Diana was whoever this woman was. But it was her eyes.
This back and forth continued til sunrise when you finally decided to push it from your mind. Yes, her eyes may have been familiar but you hadn’t seen her face nor heard her voice. And if, and when you did, you would then make an assumption as to who she was.
***
“Morning, y/n.”
You looked up to see Diana standing outside your office door, dressed in a simple pantsuit that she somehow made look glamorous.
“Morning, Diana.”
“How are you? Are you okay?”
You carefully noted the thinly veiled concern in her tone before answering.
“Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?” You asked, brow raised in question.
“No reason. Just wondering.” She cleared her throat. “I’ve just been finalising some things for the display tonight.”
Time had flown by and you were disheartened when you realised it meant the two of you wouldn’t be seeing each other as often; the two of you would go back to your own lives and separate work.
“Y/N?”
You blinked, having been broken from your thoughts when you saw real concern on her face.
“Yeah?”
“You went a bit dazed there for a moment. Are you sure you’re okay?” Her head tilted in question, her hand lifting to gently caress your arm.
“Yeah, sorry. Come on, let’s finish off this display.”
You had trouble focusing whilst you worked, eyes constantly glancing over at Diana, your mind wondering. You knew that even if she was who you thought she was, it had no effect on how you felt about her. She was still the same Diana that you knew.
Just...more badass than you’d first thought.
The two of you left the museum early evening so you could get ready for the gala the Smithsonian was putting on to show off their new Mediterranean display.
Whilst you had put quite a few antiques up for sale to various buyers and other museums, the large majority of them you had advised the board to keep; explaining how, in the long run, it’d prove more valuable.
You got dressed in a black dress that was hemmed below your knees, a low but classy ‘v’ cut shaped plunged neckline to reveal a small diamond necklace that matched with your earrings. You rarely wore makeup but tonight was an exception so your lips were painted a deep red that complemented your tanned skin and your hair was left free, light curls bouncing against your back.
Once you had arrived back at the Smithsonian, you made your way to your boss and the rest of the board who complimented yours and Diana’s work.
You looked around, wondering where the latter was.
As if summoned by sheer thought alone, Diana appeared beside you; her appearance leaving your throat dry. She was dressed in a long navy dress, a long slit in the side showing off her toned legs. She wore a gold bracelet around her wrist, her lips painted bright red, her curly hair surrounding her face.
“You look stunning, Diana.”
“Thank you. You look beautiful too.” Her smile reaching her eyes.
The next couple of hours were spent rotating around the guests and several investors who commended the both of you on your work whilst simultaneously making sizeable donations to the museum.
Truth be told, you hated this part of the gala. You believed that people should appreciate the art rather than wanting to line up their own pockets. It was the main reason you often avoided company events such as these but since tonight was something you’d organised, you needed to be there.
You were currently speaking with an older male whom you knew was an avid investor. Diana had been pulled aside by another investor who wanted to know more about a certain piece of art.
As you engaged in a polite conversation with the man, you felt a shift in his tone as he became more untoward with you. His words were slurring slightly, having consumed several glasses of champagne, and he starting to make inappropriate advances by grabbing your hand or saying wildly unprofessional things.
“Mr Woodbury, I appreciate your interest in me but I do not feel the same way and I’d appreciate it if you could stop with the advances.” You explained as politely as you could when, in reality, you were trying to hide your anger.
“Darling, you’re a pretty little thing and I could give you the night of your life.” He leered at you, leaning closer towards you.
A strong hand pushed him back, “she said ‘no’”
There was no need to even face the person enunciating each word; you knew exactly who that voice belonged to.
“Miss Prince, we’re having a private conversation.”
Diana stood beside you, her body turned so she faced the both of you.
“I suggest you leave before I have you removed from the building. And if you ever bother y/n again, I promise you, you will regret it. And a promise is unbreakable.”
The male withered under her stare and slithered away from view. You glanced up at Diana, who towered over you, even more so in her heels, and saw the controlled fury in her eyes.
The way the light of the room shone on her face and illuminated her eyes forced yourself in the memory of the night of your attempted assault.
The realisation hit you like a train.
This was the confirmation that you needed.
It was her.
“Y/N?”
You stared into her eyes, unable to tear yourself from her.
“Y/N?” Diana repeated, resting her hand against your cheek. The warmth of her skin against yours brought you back to reality.
“Y-You. I-”
You stumbled over your words, unable to string any words together to form a coherent sentence.
“Come with me.”
Not waiting for a response, Diana took your hand in hers and led you back to her office. She closed the door, locking it behind her and switching on her lamp so the room wasn’t completely dark.
You stood in front of her, still unsure of what to say.
“Y/N, you’ve been acting weird all day. What’s wrong?” She asked, her concern evident in her tone.
“You’re her.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Her. The one who saved me last night.”
You watched as Diana’s eyes flickered with panic. It was only for a brief moment and you wouldn’t have caught it if you weren’t looking.
Her mouth opened as if ready to disprove any of your thoughts before closing it again when she saw the look on your face.
“How did you know?” She sighed.
“Your eyes.”
“I’m sorry?” She repeated.
“Your eyes. They were the same. Since the moment I met you, the first thing I noticed were your eyes. The way they sparkled with kindness but I could still see the hurt behind it. They’re beautiful.” Your voice faltered as you finished speaking.
“Um, that was inappropriate. I shouldn’t have said that. I-I’ll go.”
As you were about to walk out of her office, she moved to block the door.
“Don’t go.” Her accent came out strong.
“Diana, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. Look, I appreciate you working with me these past couple of months. It’s been a great help. We can just forget this happened and just go back to our lives.” You suggested, walking back to the centre of the room.
“What if I don’t want to?”
Her words came out in a low whisper, the huskiness of her voice sending a shiver down your spine.
“W-what?” You swallowed dryly.
“I said, what if I don’t want to forget?” She repeated, walking closer to you whilst you unconsciously backed away slowly until stopping when your back hit her desk.
“I’ve loved spending time with you, y/n. You’ve become extremely important to me. And seeing that guy trying to hit on you earlier angered me because you’re not his. You’re mine.”
Your eyes widened. Though you’d never seen this side of Diana before, you were extremely turned on; a warmth spreading through you.
Diana continued, smiling at the noticeable effect she had on you.
“I know you feel the same way. I see the way you look at me and the way you blush when I catch you staring. You know me. The other me. You’re beautiful and I like you, y/n. A lot.”
You licked your lips and then lightly bit your bottom lip, once again speechless. Never in a million years did you think she’d like you back.
You decided words weren’t going to be enough and instead, you gathered your courage, the alcohol helping you in that respect, and closed the distance between you.
It was a light kiss, practically a peck, just to test the waters as they say but it still felt right.
You pulled away and leaned back against the desk. There was a look in her eye that you couldn’t quite distinguish but before you had any time to dwell on it, Diana instantly kissed you back, this time with more fervour.
She lifted you onto the desk as if you weighed nothing and with her strength, you probably didn’t. Her hands gripped the sides of your waist, steadying you, as you opened your legs wider so she could move between them.
Your arms wrapped around her neck pulling her deeper into you. She tugged your bottom lip between her teeth, not hard enough to make you wince but definitely enough to make you moan.
You felt her smirk against your lips as her hands moved upwards from bracketing your hips to the side of your breasts. She continued the motion before kissing you one final time and reluctantly pulled away.
Your breath came out in a pant, trying to get as much oxygen back into your lungs as possible.
“That was-”
“Amazing.” Diana finished.
You still sat atop of her desk, not having enough energy to move as of yet, and you were sure your legs wouldn’t be able to hold you up either after that heavy make out session.
Diana rested her hands against your waist once more before tucking a strand of hair behind your ear and cupping your cheek.
How she went from being so full of passion and heat to being so gentle and sweet, you’d never know. You had a feeling she was going to keep you on your toes.
“As much as I didn’t want to stop, we still have people to see. What do you say we talk to a few more guests and then we can go back to my place and finish what we started?”
Diana asked, stroking your cheek with her thumb as her eyes twinkled with mischief.
“I’m never going to figure you out, am I?” You said light-heartedly, as you came to your feet.
Diana held your hand in hers and walked to the door,
“I don’t know. I’d say you know me pretty well already.”

Enjoy!💕
Tumblr media
“Ow!”
You pout down at Jeonghan, lips pursed as you wait for him to look up at you.
“Yes?” He mutters under his breath; eyes never leaving the legos splayed out around him on the floor. “I’m working on this right now, baby.”
“I can see that! I literally stepped on a lego ‘cause they’re everywhere!”
He softly chuckles, watching from the corner of his eye as you trapeze your way around the plastic blocks to plop yourself down onto his bed. “Do you really have to do that right now though, ‘Hannie?”
Jeonghan raises his head to watch you on his bed; licking his lips as his eyes travel from your bare legs, up to your thighs, and honing in on the way the hoodie of his that you were wearing slides up and reveals more skin. “I’d like to finish it, baby. Why?”
“No reason, just… wondering.”
Tumblr media
It only takes 20 minutes before you’re bored again and Jeonghan focuses so hard on putting his legos together that he doesn’t even entertain any conversation you try to pull him into.
You let out a huff before you’re bouncing off of his bed and out the door; grabbing an ice cream cone from the dorm’s freezer before skipping back to Jeonghan’s room.
“D’you want a bite?” You offer, tossing the crinkly plastic into the wastebin before sitting on the edge of his bed. He looks up at you from the floor, contemplating it before he shakes his head. “I’ll eat some later, I’m almost done.” You huff slightly, biting into the chocolate.
“Your loss, this is the last one!”
He rolls his eyes at you, finding himself watching you when you start to lick at the vanilla ice cream that gets exposed when you eat off the chocolate on the outside. Jeonghan gulps hard, already feeling his cock twitch in his sweats when you let out a soft moan. “Ice cream is so good when it’s cold~” Giggling, you lick your lips clean of the sweet cream.
“Are you trying to turn me on or are you really just that oblivious?”
He chuckles darkly, running a hand through his hair as you pause.
“H-huh? I’m just… eating m-my ice cream…” Mumbling, your shy eyes meet Jeonghan’s that glimmer with new found lust and you can’t deny the way your body warms up under his intense stare. The ice cream in your hand quickly starts to melt and drips down your fingers as you gasp and try to lap it all up.
It goes eerily quiet; only the sound of you licking at the ice cream cone bouncing off the walls of Jeonghan’s room and he starts to laugh incredulously at the way you don’t notice the effect you have on him at all.
“Goddamnit, now all I can think about right now is you licking my cock like it’s that ice cream cone.”
“O-oh, um… S--should I s-stop?”
Groaning, he gets up from his place on the floor, hand already outstretched to take the ice cream cone from your hand before tossing it into the wastebin.
“Hey!”
“I’ll get you another one later, just--just…”
“J-Jeonghan?”
He contemplates his options. Jeonghan didn’t want to take things too far knowing that you were still new to the idea of being intimate, but he notices the way you squirm and try to rub your thighs together while he holds onto your sticky hand.
“I can see the way you’re reacting to me, baby. All I said was that I was imagining your cute tongue trying to lick my cock.” He licks his lips, already leaning over you until your back meets his bed sheets. “Are you imagining it too? You probably can’t even take all of me in your pretty mouth if you tried. Fuck, I could teach you how to take all of my cock in your mouth and your pretty ‘lil cunt too.”
“‘Ha--Hannie, p-please… do s-something...” Your hips raise off of the bed, thrusting up into the air at how much his words affect you.
“Oh? Look at you, humping the air like this. I bet you wanna feel my cock against you, huh? Or better yet, inside of you?”
You bite your lip to hold in your noises but you nod feverishly.
Admittedly, you and Jeonghan hadn’t tried much other than some heavy makeout sessions on his bed but there were times you could feel his hard cock pressing up against your ass or your stomach when the two of you were laying in his bed together. And most often than not, you’d go home frustrated and with your panties soaked.
“P-please… d-do something… Anything...”

Your whines have Jeonghan cursing under his breath; the slow movements of your hips driving him crazy when he resists the urge to move against you.
“How’re you feeling, baby?” Muttering, he keeps his focus on the way he can feel how wet you are when you grind against his clothed cock. You can only moan back in return as you furrow your brows and try to focus on the way Jeonghan’s cock feels through the material of your panties and his boxer briefs.
“You--You, ah, feel so b-big… I--I don’t know if, ngh, I--I could t-take you in m-my pussy…” You mewl.
Jeonghan growls; mind going a mile a minute at the thought of him stretching you to take his cock and his grip on your waist tightens just as you start to grind down onto him harder.
“Fuck, next time I’ll show you how to use your mouth. I wanna see your pretty lips stretched around my cock. Maybe I’ll even eat you out at the same time, if you want. Then you can feel my tongue on your cunt too.”
You nod feverishly as you brace your hands on his chest. “Jeonghan, I--c-can you, mmh, use your---your fingers….” Whispering, your teary eyes meet his surprised ones. You feel his cock twitch underneath you as you let out a choked sob. “Please! P--please, I--I need something i-inside…”
Jeonghan gulps as he sits up and he’s quick to maneuver you until you’re sitting on his thighs instead. “Are you sure?”
“Y-yes, ah, hurry!” You squirm and shake your hips, urging him to move faster.
But he moves slowly, fingertips pressing against your wet panties as you moan. He moves them to the side just enough so that he can run his middle and index finger through your folds; a guttural moan on his lips when he feels how wet you are.
“Goddamnit, you’re fucking soaking, baby.” He eats up the way you whine in response and he takes his time coating his fingers in your wetness before you feel his middle finger circling your entrance. “If it hurts, let me know, okay?”
“O-okay…”
“Take a deep breath for me, baby.”
You follow his word, taking a deep, shaky breath as he slowly starts to sink his finger into your tight warmth. He moves slow, hanging on your every sound and every move to make sure you were comfortable before he did anything more.
The feeling is foreign to you, but not completely uncomfortable and there’s a slight stinging sensation but it quickly ebbs away almost as soon as it even started. You bite your lip once his middle finger is knuckle deep and the two of you stay unmoving as you adjust to the feeling of finally having something inside of you.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck…” Jeonghan chants under his breath, hand twitching as his shaky pupils zero in on where his finger disappears into your pussy.
“‘H--Hannie…?”
“God, you’re so fucking tight around my finger, how the fuck are you gonna take my cock?” You clench around his digit, soft mewls on your lips.
“A-ah, I thought y-you said you’d t-teach me… I--I wanna f-feel how much, ngh, y-you stretch my p-pussy…”
Jeonghan smirks as he slowly pulls his finger out, only to thrust it back in.
“That’s right. I’m gonna fuck your pretty ‘lil cunt until you fuckin’ crave me and my cock all hours of the day. And you’ll feel me even when I’m not fucking you and eventually your fingers won’t be enough to satisfy you either ‘cause all you’ll think about is how much my cock fills you up.” He pumps his finger into you as you cry out in response. “I’ll get you so drunk off of my cock, you’ll be begging me.”
“Y-you’re su--ah--such a p-pervert, ‘Hannie…” Your cheeks are hot, but you can’t deny the way your abdomen already feels tight with each flick of his wrist. He curls his finger into you just as you let out a choked cry.
“But we know that, don’t we?” Smirking, he can feel how much tighter you get and he quickly takes notice of the way your body tenses above him. He uses his thumb and presses it against your clit; rubbing slow circles on the nub as your lips part in silent cries at the sensations overtaking your body.
“We both know I’m a pervert and we both know all the filthy things I want to do to you, but soon enough, you’ll be like me too. Begging me to do all sorts of filthy things to you that you’ve never dreamed of ‘til you met me. And each time it’ll be filthier and filthier until I have you completely at my mercy.”
“Oh, J--Jeonghan, I--mmh!”
The feeling of his finger thrusting into you and his thumb on your clit is enough to send you into an orgasm; body buzzing and mind hazy as the pleasure washes over you.
Your walls clamp down hard onto his finger and he curls the digit as you ride out your high. “That’s right, baby. Cum on my fingers. Feels good, doesn’t it?” You nod shakily; eyes clamped shut as your entire body twitches in his lap.
Jeonghan feels his cock throbbing, jaw clenched as he watches you. He’d take care of himself later, he tells himself.
“Ngh… Jeonghan…” Whimpering, you slump forward into his chest; the post-orgasmic bliss sating you and warming up your body and you quickly find yourself already craving more of him, just like he’d said.
“’Hannie...?”
“Yes, baby?”
"C-can we try what you mentioned... e-earlier? I--I wanna make you f-feel good too...”
“Of course, baby.”

New In Town (part four) - Kaz Brekker

The high of successfully stealing something gang members had their eyes on, lasted for at least a week. The necklace was safely hidden away in your room, you didn't want to sell it when everyone would be looking for it.
So you kept working at the bar, sleeping in your little room, waiting for the right time to find a buyer. And then you could find yourself a bigger room to rent, preferably not right above a pub.
Though this job was entirely your idea, and not a job for someone else, you got an adrenaline rush like no other out of it. Whenever you thought back to outsmarting a handful of criminals, you couldn't help but smile to yourself. And so far, no gang members had showed up at the pub, which meant Kaz, Jesper and the others that were with them didn't know it was you.
You tried to talk to your coworkers to find out the best place to sell something valuable, but they couldn't give you the answer you'd hoped for. You figured they'd be on the right side of the law, unlike you.
When they couldn't tell you anything, you went to the streets. Looking at shops, listening to conversations in the hopes you might hear something useful. It took you another week, but you finally found a promising store you could try.
It was a small, dusty antique shop. It was located near the edge of the "good part" of the city, and you were on high alert. You still had your weapons on you, safely hidden beneath your clothes, but you still didn't know Ketterdam as well as you'd like. Better safe than sorry.
The owner of the shop was old and had a crooked nose. You could tell it had been broken at least twice, and had been poorly set back in place. Thankfully, he didn't ask a lot of questions. He paid you handsomely, and the first thing you did when you got back to the pub was tell the owner you would move out.
You found a slightly bigger apartment, in a larger building. There was no pub underneath it, though it was located dangerously close to the Barrel. At least it was clean, and you had a nice view of the street below.
Given that you didn't have many belongings, it took only one trip to move your stuff to your new apartment. While you hadn't done a lot that day, you were still exhausted when you finally lay down in your new bed.
When you wake the next day, you're determined to walk the streets surrounding your new apartment to figure out which are the best escape routes.
The roof looks promising, and you can easily climb down to your room. If someone would be chasing you, you could climb a building and jump from roof to roof until you got to your building.
Behind the apartment complex is a small alley, which leads to a fire escape as well as the back door. The back door is very heavy, but most of the times it isn't locked, so that's a good thing. And you could easily jump up and climb the fire escape to your room.
Plenty of routes to take if you ever got in trouble.
It's not like you often find yourself in a situation which called for escape routes, but you liked to be prepared. And something about Ketterdam told you you'd have to escape a lot more often than you had to in Ravka.
You had quit your job at the pub, not wanting to walk the streets late at night after a shift, and are looking for a new one.
But there wasn't anything nearby, and though the necklace had earned you quite some money, you were slowly running out. You needed a new job, and soon. Otherwise you'd get thrown out of the apartment and you'd be forced to find something else.
Day after day you walk the streets, trying to find a job, but so far no luck. Until one day you see a familiar figure in the distance.
They probably hadn't figured out it was you yet, so there was no harm in walking up to him.
'Jesper!' you say and you jog up to him.
He seems surprised someone calls for him, but smiles when he sees you.
'Hey!' he says. 'You're the bartender, right?'
'I was, yeah.' you say, stopping in front of him. 'I quit.'
'Too many annoying tourists?' he says.
'Something like that.' you say. 'What are you doing here?'
Jesper gestures down the street. 'Just going to the Slat.' he says.
You give him a confused look. 'The Slat?' you ask.
'Oh, it's where we live.' he says. 'The building looks like it can collapse any second but it would be an exciting death. Like a mystery, tall handsome man buried in collapsed building.'
You laugh at his words. Even without having a beer, Jesper seems like a fast talker and genuinely nice company.
'I'll make sure to keep an eye out when I pass it.' you say.
This time, Jesper frowns. 'I've never seen you in the Barrel.' he says.
'You live in the Barrel?' you say, genuinely surprised to hear him say that.
'That's where the Slat is, yes.' he says.
'I don't make it to the Barrel that often.' you say.
'Too many drunks?'
'Too many gangs.'
'You'd be surprised.'
You quickly go over questions in your head, wondering how much you could ask Jesper before getting suspicious. After all, you had to find a job. And if you couldn't find one at a bar or cafe, you had to turn to someone in the Barrel.
'Why do you live in the Barrel anyway?' you say, hoping you don't sound too curious.
Jesper chuckles. 'It's not like there's a lot of different options. It's cheap, and I've been there for years. I don't feel like leaving just yet.'
'If it's cheap, I might have to move there as well.' you say.
'How so?' he says.
'I've been looking for a job, but can't find one. And if I can't pay my rent, well, I'll have to find another place.' you say.
'I'd say come work for Kaz like I do, but I don't suppose you fancy joining a gang?' he says.
You fake an expression of shock on your face. 'Wait, you live in the Barrel because you're part of a gang?' you say.
'What did you think I do for a living?' says Jesper.
'Well, I don't know. Running errands or something.' you say.
Jesper laughs. 'If it makes you feel any better, you can call it that.'
'I wouldn't want to keep you from running any errands.' you say. 'I have to find a job anyway.'
'I'll see you around.' says Jesper with a wink, and he turns and walks off.
You turn around as well but stop when you hear Jesper's voice.
'Hey!' he says.
You keep your face as neutral as possible. Surely he hadn't just figured out you are the one who stole the necklace? You hadn't given him any information besides the fact you moved and quit your job as a bartender.
'I never asked for your name.' he says.
'Y/N.' you smile.
'I'll see you around, Y/N.' says Jesper.
Oh, he'd definitely see you around.
Now that he's confirmed he's part of a gang and works for Kaz, and that he lives in a building called the Slat, you can find out more about the gang he's in.
If Kaz knew about the necklace, you didn't doubt he had more expensive targets on his mind.
It looked like you had to pay more visits to the Barrel.
The next day, instead of looking for a job in a pub or cafe, you head to the Barrel. It's early, and there aren't a lot of people on the streets. You spend the morning walking around, carefully taking in your surroundings.
It didn't seem like a bad neighbourhood to you. Maybe you just had to wait til nightfall.
You walk the streets, looking for the Slat. But all you knew was the vague description Jesper had given you, of a building on the verge of collapsing.
To you, any building looked like that.
When it's almost midday, and your stomach is growling, you've lost count of the many buildings that you think may be the Slat. But then you stop in front of the most crooked building you've seen so far.
Like Jesper said, it looks like it can collapse if you give it a good kick. This had to be it. You look around, there are some people on the streets, but it's not overly crowded.
You'd hang around for a while, not too long, and then you'd head back. You didn't want to risk Jesper spotting you, not a day after he told you where he lived. Or risk Kaz seeing you.
Besides Jesper, he was the only one who would recognise you. And you had a feeling he would still be trying to figure out who took his necklace.
You stay behind, listening to conversations, taking in and remembering the people you see. But today you can't get your hands on any valuable information, so you head back home.
Back in Ravka, you were well known amongst the right people. You were good at your job and it allowed you to pressure clients in giving you the payment you wanted.
But in Ketterdam people didn't know you, and you had to be careful.
Which meant you couldn't march up to someone in the Barrel and demand a job, you had to be patient.
You knew as soon as people found out who you are, you'd have to look over your shoulder every time you left your apartment. On the other hand, it also meant you would get jobs that payed well.
But this isn't Ravka, so you'd have to go back to the Slat tomorrow, to see if you can find out more about Kaz' gang, and its jobs.
Yet again, you are grateful you learned to have patience.
You didn't find a job, but you spend the next few weeks getting to know the people of the Barrel.
By eating only the cheapest - and most horrible - food, you were able to pay the rent of the apartment, even though you didn't have a job.
Your patience was rewarding.
You learned there are a few Dregs - Kaz' gang members - who are Kaz' most trusted members. He calls them Crows. Of course, Jesper is among them.
You've learned he's a sharpshooter, and indeed gambles a lot. You watched him gamble one night, and he lost quite a lot of money. Maybe that's why he couldn't get out of the Barrel; all the money he made, he lost while gambling.
Then there's Inej, a small Suli girl. It took you a while to find things out about her. She had her ways to sneak off so silently, you started to think she was a ghost. You noticed the way she climbed gracefully on roofs, her knives glinstering in the moonlight.
There's Nina, a heartrender. She's very flirtatious, like Jesper. You could think of a number of reasons why it would be useful for Kaz to have a Grisha like Nina with him.
Most of the times, Nina's accompanied by Matthias. One look at him and you knew he was Fjerdan. You didn't know what he was doing so far from home, but apparently he was useful to the gang.
Then there's Wylan, who didn't look like he belonged in the Barrel at all. You figured he was a lost student the first time you saw him. But he kept coming and going from the Slat, so you knew he must live there as well. Often, his shirt or fingers would be stained, and you'd guessed he'd be handling stuff like explosives.
And of course, Kaz himself. You didn't know a lot about him, no matter how hard you tried to find out information on him. All you knew, was he always wore gloves, and always had his cane with him. You knew he was their leader, so he'd probably come up with the targets and plans, but other than that, you didn't know anything about him.
When you've found out as much as you can of each member of the crows, you start to search for information on their jobs. It would be perfect if Jesper and Kaz had a conversation like the one they had in the pub, but they were more careful in the Barrel. You thought it must have something to do with the fact there's more than one gang in the Barrel.
Again, you are patient. And after another week of cheap but gross food, you overhear Wylan talking to Nina about an upcoming job. You follow them at a distance, concentrating on their words.
It seems like Wylan is nervous about the job, and Nina is telling him it'll be alright. You linger long enough to hear it's about a shipment coming in next weekend.
Satisfied with the information you gathered, you head back to your apartment. At least it's something. You have one piece of the puzzle. A shipment next weekend. The next step would be to find out what dock and what time. Then you could make sure you're there before Kaz and the others arrive. And you could finally have a decent meal again.
This time, you have to act quick. The weekend is coming up, and you have to find out a location and time.
You climb your way to the roof of the Slat early in the morning, so no one sees you. You knew Kaz' room is on the top floor, all you have to do is wait.
Occasionally, you doze off while waiting, only to make yourself shake your head to wake yourself up. You didn't want another cheap meal, and this was the first promising information you got.
Finally, around noon, all of your waiting turns out to be useful. You hear Kaz' voice through the open window.
'Now that you're all here, we can go over the plan again.' he says.
Someone groans loudly. 'We all know the plan, Kaz.' It's Nina.
'Then recite it word for word.' says Kaz in a serious voice.
'Fine. But I'll give you the short version so this meeting doesn't go on and on like they always do.' says Nina. You hear how she clears her throat and draw closer to the open window beneath you.
'There's a shipment on Saturday night, arriving at the third dock. It arrives at 11 pm, so we'll be there by 10:30 pm. We snatch the one crate that has jewellery and run off before they can shoot us. There. That's it, now can we go?' says Nina.
'One thing.' says Kaz, and you can hear Nina groan again. 'How do you know which crate to take?'
'It's the one addressed to a merchant named Winston.' says Nina.
'Alright. What about the backup plans?' says Kaz.
'We know those as well, Kaz.' says Jesper quickly. 'Now, can we go?'
'Fine. But I expect you all to be here tomorrow at 9 pm sharp to prepare.' says Kaz.
You hear how chairs are moved and people walk toward the door. Just as you're about to climb down, you see a gloved hand reaching out for the window. You draw your head back just in time before Kaz closes the window.
You hold your breath, waiting for him to go away. After some time, when you're sure he's gone, you climb back down. You almost skip happily in the streets, now you've figured everything out. You couldn't wait to see the look on their faces when once again, their prize became yours.
When it's Saturday evening, you move swiftly toward the dock. There's no one around yet. You find a spot that's well hidden, but you also have easy acces on and off the ship that'll arrive.
You check your watch and just like Nina said, the six of them arrive at 10:30 pm. They don't see you, making you smile to yourself. Maybe you preferred this way of working to accepting jobs from clients. You love to see the looks on their bewildered faces when they realise someone has outsmarted them again.
In the distance, you see the ship slowly approaching the dock. The crows take their places, hiding in the shadows just like you. But when the ship has docked and the crows are waiting for the goods to be loaded onto the dock, you climb aboard the ship, looking for the crate.
There's bigger ones, but you find a small one near the back that has the name Winston stamped on it. You open it quietly, making sure to stay out of sight. You begin to load your pockets with the shining jewellery, and then you leave the ship just as quickly as you boarded it.
You go back to your hiding space even though you could already go home. When the crows make their moves, you see how they switch the crates, and then wait for everyone else to leave.
Wylan opens the crate and you can hear Jesper curse loudly.
'It's fucking empty.' says Jesper.
Upon hearing his words, Kaz walks over to Wylan and looks over his shoulder.
'It should be here.' he says.
'Got a backup plan for when the crate is empty?' says Nina.
Kaz is silent, looking at the crate. 'My information was correct.' he says, looking at the others as if they know more than he does. 'I trust the source. We got played.'
Suddenly, he looks up, narrowing his eyes and focusing on something in the distance. 'Again.' he says slowly. 'Someone's messing with us. First that necklace, now a crate full of them. Someone has been selling information.'
'You don't know that, don't start jumping to conclusions.' says Inej. 'Maybe your source isn't as reliable as you think.'
'They are reliable.' says Kaz, clearly frustrated. 'We'll get another job. Let's just go.'
You smile to yourself, feeling the weight of the jewellery in your pockets. If only Kaz knew you were planning on taking much more from right under his nose.
On your way back to your apartment, you can't stop thinking about the looks on their faces. Sure, they were smart, and Kaz is good at making plans. But you are great at ruining them. You wonder how long you can keep this game going, and how rich it would make you.
And now you know you can listen to their meetings from a spot on the roof, you're already excited about their next job.

Requested: Yes Pairing: Draco Malfoy x fem!reader Warnings: a bit of angst i guess, swearing, insecurity, an injury, asshole!theo nott Summary: Draco x reader where the reader gets injured before the Yule Ball and Draco swoops in to make the night memorable for her.
WORDS : 2451
Not going to lie, I struggled a bit with this one and I ended up focusing more on the build up than the actual scene but I hope you like it because I’m quite happy with the way it turned out.
Lyric snippets I used are from “High School Sweethearts” by Melanie Martinez and they’re not in chronological order, I honestly just put them in randomly.
Anyway, love you all,
jean <3
<~>
“Y//N, I’m bored.” Draco grumbles as he sits down on your lap- resting all of his body weight on you and trying to annoy you.
You grunt at the action but get comfortable regardless- propping your chin up on his shoulder and resting your arms around his waist like you usually do when he sits on you for fun. “Well, we could go over plans for Friday.”
“If I have to hear you talk about that damn ball one more time I swear to Merlin I’m going to kill myself in the Black Lake.”
“Promise?” You ask perkily and he lifts up one of his hands to flick your head, “Sorry!”
You both laugh and he rolls off of you and into the seat beside you. “Okay but seriously, I’m bored.”
You laugh and shake your head as you get off the couch, “I’m going to do my muggle studies homework in the library- if you come along then when we’re done we can do whatever you like.” You offer your best friend and he tilts his head to the side as he considers your offer before grinning and jumping off the couch.
“You’ve chosen some very bad words.”
“You also have to listen to my Yule Ball ideas.” You add and he groans.
“That’s not fair-“
“Take it or leave it.”
“Fine.” He mumbles with an eye-roll as the two of you walk out of the Slytherin commons and toward the library.
“And damn it, if you fuck me over I will rip your fucking face apart”
“If you cheat, you will die, die”
“So I was talking to Theo and he basically suggested that we wear matchin-“ As you and Draco walk toward the library, and you relay all of your thoughts regarding the Yule Ball to him, you come across Theodore Nott. Your date to the Yule Ball- technically your boyfriend considering the fact that you’ve been flirting with each other for weeks- shoved up against a wall with another girl’s lips on his.
You and Draco freeze in the hallway and take in the scene- trying to decide how best to react. Draco takes a step forward- ready to defend your honour- but you’ve already yanked the girl away from Theo by her hair and swung your fist straight into his face.
“You must accept that I’m a little out of my mind”
A crackling sound is heard followed by the shriek of your voice- “You filthy piece of shit!”
Theo stumbles backward then grips his bleeding nose in shock- obviously not expecting you to have had such a strong hook- “You bitch!”
“I guess your mother and I have something in common then.” You spit back and his eyes widen in fury as he regains his balance and walks toward you.

“What the fuck did you just say?”
“I know that it’s dark and lonely in there for your two single braincells but I feel like the quip was quite straightforward. You are a son of a bitch.” You grit out with venom lacing your words and Draco sucks in a large breath from behind the two of you- watching the scene unfold and deciding that it’s best to let you handle it.
Theo laughs coldly and runs a fist beneath his nostrils to wipe away some dripping blood, “This is exatly why I didn’t make things official with you, you’re fucking psychotic.”
“Oh please, you’ve got to have something better than that.” You scoff and roll your eyes.
“If you can't handle the choking, the biting The loving, the smothering 'Til you can't handle it no more, no more Go home”
“You know what? You’re right.” He sniffs and bends down a little lower so that you’re both eye level- just so that he can patronise you. “You’re clingy, bitchy and honestly I could do a lot better than you looks-wise. You make me want to bash my head into a wall and the only reason I asked you to the Yule Ball, and flirted with you, was to get Daphne Greengrass’s attention.”
“Fine, since I make you so goddamn miserable we can end all of this here.” You crane your neck and shrug, “If you can’t handle me then you can fuck right off.”
“I will!”

“Theo-“ Draco calls out to the fellow Slytherin, perhaps hoping to talk him out of the stupid decision he’s about to make, but Theo’s having none of it.
“Oh, sod off!” Theo shouts back as he walks away from you and Draco and gives you both the middle finger.
You take a moment to breathe before the adrenaline runs out and the searing pain in your fist comes rushing at full force. “Ow, crap!” You exclaim as you hurriedly grab your bag from off the floor and start running toward Madame Pomfrey.
“Y/N! Wait up!” Draco shouts from behind you as he tries to run with you.
“Run faster!” You shout with a giggle as you turn to stick your tongue out at him. Then it happens.
You turn back to watch where you’re running, but it’s too late and before you know it, you’re tumbling down one of the many flights of stairs that graces Hogwarts.
~~~
“You’re such a dumb shit.” Draco mumbles from beside you with a chuckle.
“I know, shut up.” You snap back at him but you can’t hide the slight smile tugging on your lips.
After your beatdown fight with the stairs, you got carried to Madame Pomfrey’s and had to be treated for your fist injury as well as the ones you sustained from your tumble. She was quick to give you a potion for pain and immediately got started examining you- deducing that you’d sprained one of your legs and hit your head, but not hard enough to contract a concussion.
So now you’re sat in one of the beds with your leg hanging above you in a cast, a bandage wrapped around your head and one wrapped around your fist. Madame Pomfrey walks back with a wheelchair and gives you a stern look as she gently unhooks your leg and lays it down on the bed.
“Now, you’re going to need to use this for a week, then after the initial week I will examine you again and either remove your cast or put you on crutches.”
“Wait, a week?” You furrow your eyebrows and she nods, “But the Yule Ball is in three days.” You frown.
“You won’t be able to dance but you can still have a nice time.” She offers you a wayward smile and you nod faintly with a thin smile- trying not to think about how the night you’d had perfectly planned out for weeks is suddenly coming apart before your eyes.
She helps you into the wheelchair and then her and Draco have an exchange in which he promises to get you to dinner, and back to the dorms, in one piece. Then before you know it Draco is wheeling you out of the ward and toward the Great Hall, but you’re not particularly hungry and instead want to lie down.
“Draco?”
“Hm?”
“Do you mind just taking me to my dorm? I’m not in the mood to eat.”
He stops abruptly and peers his head round your shoulder so that you can see each other, “You’re not hungry? It’s apple pie night.”
“I’m not in the mood for apple pie.”
“Uh oh, what’s wrong?”
“You mean besides the fact that I technically just got cheated on and then landed myself in a wheelchair, leaving me injured and dateless three days before the Yule Ball?” You raise your eyebrows and he laughs, “Nothing really.”
“Okay that’s fair… You want to talk?” You shake your head in response and he nods silently as he thinks. “Okay, how about I bring food up to your dorm and we can sit and eat it in silence together instead?”
“I can do that.”
So Draco does as you ask, despite it being a very long trip for him, and drops you off in your dorm room before collecting dinner for you both and returning to join you.
“Give me passion, don't make fun of my fashion”
You finish up your dinner with a laugh as Draco shakes his head at you.
“That’s a ghastly dress Y/N.” He says as he looks at the y/f/c dress you’d originally picked out for the Yule Ball- before you realised that the cut was too small and wouldn’t be accommodating to your hips.
“Hey!” You gasp and toss a pillow at him as you both laugh, “Don’t be rude.”
“I don’t have that setting.”
“I noticed.” You grumble and sigh as you fall back against your headboard.
“Are you sure that you’re okay?”
You look down at your fingers as you fiddle with them and make a thinking face, “I don’t know.”
“That’s okay- not knowing, I mean.” He reaches out for your hands and encapsulates them in his own, “What he did was shitty, it’s not your fault and none of the things he said about you are true. But it’s okay to be confused between anger, sadness, relief-“
“Relief?” You raise your eyebrows up at him in question with a smirk, “Why would I be relieved that he called me a clingy and psychotic bitch?”
“I-“
“I mean maybe that’s arousing for someone with a degradation kink like yourself but I found that quite demeaning.” You tease with a wide grin at the sight of his frustrated and annoyed features.
“You know I was going to offer myself up as your new date but-“ He trails off as you cut him off.
“I’m sorry! Please go with me?” You whine and he laughs.
“Since you’re begging…” You throw another pillow at him and he raises his hands up in surrender, “Okay, okay! I’d love to be your date to the Yule Ball.”
“I know you would.” You smile proudly.
“Pansy will just have to deal.”
~~~
“You can't be scared to show me off and hold my hand”
“Draco, are you sure this isn’t too much?” You peer your eyes up at him- referring to the dress his mother had tailor made for you.
“Y/N, my mother was more excited than you when I told her that we were going together and she could send you dresses tfor you to try- it’s nowhere near too much.” He reassures you with a chuckle.
“Thank you so much, it’s truly exquisite.”
“No, thank you.”
“For?”
“Giving me the opportunity to take the prettiest girl in our year out to the Yule Ball.”
“I don’t remember convincing Cho Chang to lower her standards to yo-“
“Why do I bother?” He mumbles to himself and you giggle.
“Thank you, and you look great too.”
“I know.” He smiles smugly before walking behind you so he can push your wheelchair. “Now let’s go in so that I can show off my incredible date and best friend.”
“If you think you can be my one and only true love You must promise to love me”
After an hour of you and Draco sitting by a table- eating, laughing, observing how ridiculous everyone looks on the dance floor- you start to feel an immense weight in the pit of your stomach, a reminder as to why you’re sat on a chair instead of dancing the night away with your date, and you have to look away from Draco to hide the tears that are pricking at your eyes.
He notices the change in your demeanor and furrows his eyebrows in confusion, trying to figure out what exactly changed your energy so quickly- then his eyes scan the room and land on Theo dancing with Daphne and a wave of realization hits him like a freight train. He clears his throat to drag your attention toward him and you swallow hard before plastering on a fake smile and meeting his eyes. “You know, she doesn’t look as good as you do.”
You tilt your head to the side in confusion for a second before registering that he’s referring to Daphne. “Oh.” You look back at her and Theo, “I really want to believe you but it’s kind of hard to do that when I’m staring straight at her holding the guy that picked her over me.”
“Bu-“
“It’s okay, really.” You give him a wayward smile, “I think I see why he likes her and not me, she’s just better.” You shrug before continuing, “There was some merit in Theo’s words that day, I am a bit much too handle and I guess she just isn’t.”
“Don’t talk about yourself like that.” Draco furrows his eyebrows at you, “There’s nothing wrong with you, you’re not too much Y/N, you’re just enough and he’s a fool not to see what an incredible person you are.”
“Drac-“
“I love you. And not like best friend love, like you’re my soulmate and I want to spend the rest of my life with you love.” He interrupts you with his confession before he loses the nerve, once again, to tell you how much you mean to him. “And I know that we’re still young, it sounds ridiculous of me to say something like that so confidently but it’s true and I just know it.”
He takes a moment to breathe before continuing, “You don’t have to feel the same way, I honestly don’t expect you to, but I want you to know that I plan to love you forever whether it be as your best friend or more.”
“You’re such a sap.” You finally breathe out with a soft smile on your face once he’s done, “I love you too, you fucking idiot.”
“You’re so bloody rude.” He grumbles out with a grin, “But you’re still the only one for me.”
“That I am.” You laugh out with a smile. “I’m sorry that I got myself injured, we could be having our first dance right now.”
He goes silent for a moment before a grin sneaks its way onto his face suddenly, “Who said we can’t?”
“What do you mea-“
Before you can even finish he’s standing up, snaking his arms around your waist and delicately pulling you up off of your wheelchair and into his arms. You gasp at the sudden movements and struggle to find balance in his arms but he does the work for you and helps you rest one arm along his while he takes the other hand in his own fingers and holds you up by your waist- with your feet resting on his. “Is this okay? Are you comfortab-“
“It’s perfect.” You cut him off with a content sigh and a smile as you start to sway back and forth gently.
“You’re perfect.”
“I know.” You giggle.
“Cocky.” He scoffs before dropping his lips down to meet your own- making you heave another content sigh against his lips.
“Merlin, It was about time you disgusting lovebirds got together!” You hear Pansy utter from somewhere behind you and drop your head into Draco’s shoulder as you both laugh at her comment.

Exercise Buds
I’ve seen a lot of people request I do a Tindalos/Cthugha rivalry for the readers attention. So I decided to make this quick little thing with my own twist on it. I wouldn’t mind revisiting this rivalry at some point or maybe having Cthugha try and become a Vtuber.
Cthugha/Tindalos
~By the growing concern of your guildmates and your physical condition you all agreed to take a bit more concern for your athleticism in case a scenario would arise where it would be your only option. Luckily Kengo happened to be an expert on the matter and was able to formulate a regiment for your guild. One of your requirements was a jog at a certain time of the day which you took time to properly adjust your schedule to over the course of two weeks now. However this week on your run you actually crossed paths with a familiar berserker. “ Oh, hey there!” Cthugha greeted you in a nonchalant way as you both almost bumped into each other. You were glad you didn’t because if you had you would have most likely caused an explosion thanks to the large Transient being startled by the impact. Either way he seemed dressed for a jog thanks to his loose gold faded shirt and sweatbands. “I had no idea you would be jogging this route right now. None.” The red entity laughed nervously. You asked him if he had gotten lost on his workout routine. “What? Lost? No way, not a super cool guy like me!” He replied. “If anything I was just… looking for a new route.” Cthugha puffed out his cheeks and blushed a little as he continued. “But, since you’re here… how about you and I-” Before he could finish his suggestion a third voice cut in that snuck up from nowhere.
“Why if it isn’t my two favorite people?” A familiar blue furred arm wrapped around both you and Cthugha in a seemingly friendly hug. “The best summoner I know and… some other guy.” Cthugha took offense to that.
“You know well who I am!” Cthugha snapped in annoyance.
“Hmm…” Tindalos took a minute to ponder. “Nope. I think I’d recognize someone as simple as you.”
“S-Simple!?”
Tindalos chuckled and turned his attention back to you. “So, are you guys out on a date or something?” You corrected Tindalos and clarified you had just bumped into each other not too long ago while out on your jogs. “Oh? Since when did the two of you jog?” A thought clicked in his head. “You must be taking after my advice from my workout streams! Nothing like good cardio before a workout after all!”
“Don’t give yourself too much credit.” Cthugha sneered. “A shrimp like you has nothing on me~.”
Tindalos took a minute to size up Cthugha. “For a simple guy you’re pretty big, but I’m definitely the handsome one.” The blue therian brought his arms behind his head and gave a wink as he posed for both you and the red Therian.
“Stop calling me simple!” Cthugha demanded. To avoid a literal explosion you made an effort to step between the two…
~And it somehow worked. You were now on a run with two of the most physically active transients you knew. You admired both briefly as you flanked behind the two of them. You definitely took note that Cthugha not only looked powerful since he was also a bodybuilder but also was powerful thanks to his power over explosions. Meanwhile Tindalos had an impressive physique despite spending most of his time in his own room and not being as much of a powerlifter as Cthugha was. You were at least grateful Cthugha agreed to play nice…
Unfortunately Cthugha wanted to do anything BUT play nice. He had been planning an opportunity like this for weeks now. He had to memorize your route, find the perfect outfit to show off his physique, come up with the perfect excuse, and work up the courage just to ask you to go on a date with him. But NO. This mutt had to show up and sabotage his perfectly executed plan to woo you. He knew Tindalos probably caught wind of this plan and just “conveniently” went out on a jog of his own just to mess with Cthugha’s well considered plan.
Tindalos just wanted to stretch his legs and when he saw you chatting it up with another Old One he figured it’d be fun. He just thinks it’s fun to tease Cthugha.
~After going for at it for a while you cave first and explain you can’t run anymore without taking a hydration break. “We’ve definitely ran pretty far…” Tindalos added.
Cthugha scoffed at the both of you. “This is pretty far for you? I’m still raring to go!” He huffed out.
“Well good for you. But some of us more complex and intelligent folks need a drink every once in a while.” The therian quipped as he grabbed his water bottle and started chugging.
“For someone thirsty you’re pretty talkative.” Cthugha grumbled. “Oh, um… are you okay though?” Cthugha asked you as you took a gulp of your water. You said you would be okay after a minute to drink some water.
“You only brought water with you?” Tindalos asked. “Why not try some of my sports drink? Don’t worry I’m not sponsed or anything- I just happen to like it.” He handed you his water bottle after wiping off the mouth piece with a tissue and letting take a taste. You were surprised at how sweet it was given the fact it was a sports drink. “Yeah these guys definitely know how to make their stuff taste really good!” The canine continued to rave to you.
Cthugha just watched him fawn all over you and gush about some silly sports drink and he was not happy with how it was going. Cthugha had brought his own water but could go for just a while longer without it. However since the rest of the group was having theirs he figured he would at least take a sip but he could barely concentrate on anything but his anger and jealousy of how close you two were getting. He was so enraged, in fact, he squeezed his own water bottle a bit too tight causing the pressure to build up in the bottle til it couldn’t contain itself- The transient’s bottle burst in his hands from how tight a grip he had on it and the contents of the bottle spilled all over himself, leaving a huge mess of water on his clothes. “Ah!” Cthugha gasped. “Now I’m all wet…!” He was embarrassed to have lost his cool like that in front of you. But rather than be annoyed with him you were concerned as you took a tissue of your own and very carefully began to help him dry off. “What-” You just assumed Cthugha forgot his own strength again and accidentally made a mess for himself so you just wanted to help him before he had a chance to properly freak out. “You’d… do that for me?” The red transient sniffled as he was touched by your kindness and definitely knew he had to ask you out one day…
Meanwhile Tindalos watched impressed. “Well played…” He muttered. “But that would be giving someone as simple as him a lot of credit. Still I’ll admit simplicity does still have it’s charms.”

There are many things in your life that you want to forget and one of them is high school. You weren’t a lone wolf or some kind of loser, not at all. But to a certain to someone you were a easy target to mess around with, the one and only, Oscar “Spooky” Diaz.
Whenever he got the chance to make fun of you, he did. And by some sick twist of fate, you had majority of your class with him during senior year. It’s like it fueled him, the teasing. As you jog pass Freeridge high as a part of your daily exercise, the memories flood you.
It’s finals week and all you can think of is finishing these exams so you can stop the constant stressing and excessive studying. As you swap out textbooks for your AP Chemistry class in your locker, you hear someone clear their throat from behind you, though it’s no question to who it is.
Without even turning to look, “To what do I own the pleasure this time?”
“Just wondering how the weather is down there? I know it’s sunny up here, but what about down there, hm?” Oscar leans against the lockers besides you and give you his famous smirk.
You roll your eyes and give your best fake smile, turning your head you look at him, “Do you ever think of anything new to say or are the four brain cells up there all juiced out from the coke you snort in the bathroom during study hall?”
Oscar stares at you and pushes himself off the locker, walking away without another word. You look over shoulder and see him exit the school. A scoff comes out of your mouth as you roll your eyes. It’s a cat and mouse game with him, most of the time he is the one chasing but there are a few occasions where you get to be the mighty feline.
When your fit bit vibrates to alert you that you’ve reached you goal, you come to an abrupt stop. Hunching over with your hands on your knees trying to catch your breath. A few students walk past you, laughing away and in a heavy conversation about the homecoming dance.
You start to walk back to your place, remembering the night of your homecoming dance, senior year.
“Wow, it wears dresses. I wasn’t sure that you knew how to be a full functioning girl. I mean, considering no one’s tapped that yet, sad really.” Oscar’s voice sounds from beside you as sat at your designated table to take a break from dancing.
He pulls a chair out and flips it around so his chest is leaning against the back rest. You look over and nearly spit out your drink, “What the hell happened to you? Oh are you... oh no, are you sick? Are you dying? Jesus really is coming back.”
Oscar laughs and runs his hand over his now shaved head. He looks completely different than he did yesterday in AP Bio. You continue to sip on your punch, he reaches over and pours what smells like vodka into your cup from a metal flask. “What the fuck, seriously?”
“What? Maybe it’ll loosen you up. Always got a fuckin’ stick up your ass. Ay, maybe then someone will wanna blow your back out tonight, I mean trust me we ain’t got much standards. Not a single fuck given about your new straight hair you went and spent all that money you don’t got.” He ruffles with you hair, you swat his hand away and he laughs, getting up to leave. “Could never be me though.”
Once you get on your street you mentally damn yourself for thinking of those days. It use to take a lot out of you to stand up to Oscar. Those days far behind you for a reason. You make your way up the driveway and stop in your trek, it couldn’t be.
The shiny exterior of cherry red shines back at you. You’re staring at it making sure it’s not your mind playing tricks on you. Oscar’s car is parked in your driveway. Right?
“As I live and breath. Sup, Y/N.” Your thoughts are disturbed as you hear his voice sound, he stands on your porch, leaning aside the post. He looks the same but a little different as well. Sporting some ink on his face and neck.
You look around and hope when you turn back it’ll be just a hallucination or something. But as God permits, there he is. His physique definitely changed, his biceps bulging a lot more than the last time you saw him.
“Uh, hey, Oscar.” He smiles and licks his lips, stepping down and walking to stand in front of you. Well one things for sure, he still towers over you. He looks down at you and chuckles, taking his hand ontop your head and measuring it to his chest.
A snicker erupts from him as you push him back, trying to hide your smile, “Still the fucking same I see. Shame, all these years and you still haven’t grown up. Where’ve you been anyways?”
“Corcoran. Got out this morning.” He tells you as he walks over to his car to lean against. You wait it out a few secods before he nods his head for you to join him.
“Shoulda known you’d end up in Prison. Kill someone?”
He shoves his hands in his pockets and shrugs, “Drug possession, but ain’t no surprise I was slinging then. I got this while I was inside, ran the whole operation.”
“Yeah, well a part of me isn’t surprised you ended up there and the other part is surprised.” He looks over at you with a quirked eyebrow, “You’re smart, Diaz. You think people didn’t know but we all knew. Just no one questioned you since you hung around the gang, then you joined it. Or how is it? Jumped in?”
He nods his head in agreement with a smirk on his face, you study him for a moment before moving your gaze to in front of you when he looks at you, “Sad you didn’t take the college route. Could’ve been a head chef at some fancy restaurant I bet. My little brother would hang with Cesar. He’d tell me that you’d make such a bomb grilled cheese that he’d refuse anything I’d make. Said you really had knack for being in the kitchen.”
It felt strange to be sitting and talking to Oscar like normal people would. He would tease you any chance he got til the end of summer when you up and left for college in Arizona. Suppose prison truly does change people.
“Yeah, well at the time college wasn’t going to take care of my brother so sacrifices had to be made. Just how life goes.” He sniffs and pulls a cigarette from behind hid ear. You snatch it from him and break it with you heel. “You may have survived prison, but I promise you this will kill you, dummy.”
Oscar wouldn’t normally stand for people acting that way with him.
“What? Not gonna call me names and remind me I’m the most unattractive girl ever?” You turn to him and he turns his body towards yours. He peers down to your lips and brings his hand up to your chin.
You’re confused with what’s happening right now. Oscar not retorting with a comeback and nearly pressed against you, “Never said you unattractive once in my life. Actually thought the opposite since 7th grade.”
“What? You thought I was attractive since we were 13 years old?” Oscar nods and drops his hand from your face.You scoff and step back, walking a few feet away from him.
He clears his throat, feeling like everything is caving in. He digs for his keys from his pockets. The sounds catches your attention and you turn back, “Wait. I’m just trying to process it all. If you thought I was cute or something, why didn’t you ever tell me? All you would do is tease me and always annoy me.”
Oscar stops fiddling with his keys and steps closer to you, cocking his head to the side, a smile cracking from his serious face, “You never heard that when a guy likes you he is mean to you?”
You roll your eyes and smack his head, “For someone who is smart, that was really stupid to think. I mean.. I would say mean things to you too and you kept comin-... oh. Ooooh, I see it now. Fuck, uh.”
He sees your calming up with the realization, “Let me take you out.”
“Oh, okay. Um, what are you doing tonight?” You ask him, feeling your heart racing.
“Got some shit to handle tonight, but I’m free right now.”
Before you can say anything, he dips down and pulls you over his shoulder, you squeal and protest for him to put you down. He only laughs carrying you into your place.
So by some weird twist of fate, high school wasn’t the worst after all.

Ginger Snap, Chapter 4
A/N  Here’s the next chapter installment of Ginger Snap.  I now have this story mentally plotted to its conclusion.  It will have a total of 6 chapters, with perhaps a wee epilogue.  In keeping with the theme, the title of this chapter is “Where There’s Smoke”.
Previous chapters are best enjoyed on my AO3 page, because I have a bad habit of going back and editing them after they’ve been posted.
I glanced around the sitting room, trying to see it through a stranger’s eyes.  Well, not a stranger.  Through Jamie’s eyes.
We had sold most of our furniture before leaving Boston, not considering it worth the expense of shipping across the Atlantic.  Frank hired an interior decorating firm to furnish the third floor Southside flat before we arrived.  The overall impression was stylish, if a bit soulless.  Having grown up a virtual nomad, there were no mementos or heirlooms to speak for my personal journey.  For the first time, I regretted their absence.
The buzzer rang, and I shook away my wistfulness.  Jamie’s tousled curls and reckless grin greeted me as I opened the door.  Today he wore a fitted navy jumper, faded grey jeans with frays about the ankles and the ubiquitous work boots.  A messenger bag was slung across his broad chest.
“I hope I wasn’t supposed to supply the ingredients for today’s lesson, because my cupboards are bare,” I remarked after inviting him in.
“Jus’ as well.  I wouldna squander yer food.  I have all we need right here.”  Reaching into his bag, he removed a clear container filled with chunks of pink meat swimming in a broth of blood.  I wrinkled my nose in disgust.
“What sort of dish will I be making with those?”
Those summer eyes shone in merry provocation.
“No’ a dish, Arsonist.  An experiment.”
Two saucepans were set on the stove.  Jamie had me place a few pieces of meat into the water of one pot before it warmed.  To the other I added a pinch of salt and a clove of garlic, but waited until it came to a boil before adding the chicken.  After five minutes, I used tongs to move the now-pale flesh to waiting salad plates.  Neither looked particularly appetizing, but the first pot yielded a glutinous blob.
“I suppose this is the control group,” I remarked, looking at Jamie where he leaned against my countertop, ankles crossed like a cover model.  “I’m already quite familiar with what culinary failure looks like, thank you.”
“No’ failure.  Variability,” my teacher argued.  “See here?  If ye want meat tae dissolve til it doesna hold its texture, low heat is key.  An’ if ye want tae infuse it with flavour, always combine heat an’ seasoning at the same time.”
I took a small nibble of chicken from the second pot, and sure enough it tasted mildly of garlic.  It was otherwise quite bland, though.  When I commented on this, Jamie nodded in excitement.
“Aye, verra good.  Nature seeks equilibrium, as ye well know.  Sae now ye have poultry tha’ tastes o’ water and water tha’ tastes o’ chicken.  If ye were makin’ a stew or chicken stock, t’would be a good thing.  Fer anything else, tis shite.”
I laughed, getting into the spirit of his well-executed game.
“Have ye any music?” he asked while we cleared away the results of round one.  “I always cook better with a bit o’ background noise.”
There was a high-end stereo system in the living room, but I doubted Jamie would be interested in Frank’s collection of Brahms, Mahler and Celtic harp.  Seeing my hesitation, Jamie dug out a portable speaker from his bag.
“Do ye mind?”  I shook my head and soon my kitchen hummed with guitar chords and plangent vocals.
The lesson lasted far longer than the scheduled hour.  Jamie had me bake, fry, roast and braise different samples, each time explaining why a particular technique might be used and insisting I taste the result.  It was so much fun, I shed my habitual reticence while cooking.
“An’ now fer the pièce de résistance,” Jamie announced in dramatic tones.  From his seemingly bottomless messenger bag he removed what appeared to be a miniature flame thrower.
“What the fuck is that?” I asked, forgetting myself.
“I wanted ye tae ken there’s a place fer fire in the kitchen, Arsonist.  Tis only a question of picking yer moment.”
With a flick of his lighter, he set the butane alight and handed me the small kitchen torch.  Using extreme caution, I seared the outside of the two remaining morsels until they were a rich caramel colour.  Jamie then wrapped them in foil, placing them in the oven to finish cooking.  When they were cool enough to sample, the outside was pleasingly crunchy and sweet, while the inside swam in moist chicken-y flavour.  We both declared them the winner.
“Tis a funny thing about fire,” Jamie remarked as he packed up his bag to leave by the more conventional front door route.  “It can remain hidden beneath the surface, burying its secrets deep inside.  Doesna mean it doesn’t burn, though.”
I thought about what he’d said long after he was gone, leaving me alone with his signature scent of rising bread and salt air.
That weekend, I blamed the poor weather when I declined Frank’s offer to shop for an engagement ring.
***
The next week, instead of asking to be buzzed inside, Jamie requested that I join him downstairs.
Grabbing a Mackintosh, my purse and slipping into comfortable walking shoes, I joined Jamie outside my door.  He was particularly animated, despite the foul weather.
“We should ha’ started wi’ this lesson, but t’wasn’t the right day fer it,” he explained as we walked towards the farmers’ market that took place twice a week in the shadow of Castle Hill.
I considered protesting that I already knew how to shop for food, but Jamie’s enthusiasm was contagious.
We stopped at every stall, sampling the foodstuff on display, which was surprisingly varied despite it being November.  Jamie knew most of the merchants by name and our progress was regularly halted by conversations on topics as varied as his family’s health, the latest rugby results and Scottish politics.  I envied his wide circle of acquaintance and apparent ease interacting with them.  There was no pretense, no stiffness, just a man who inhabited every square centimetre of his life to the fullest.
Jamie insisted that I taste various produce before adding it to the cloth bag he’d provided.  Honey-crisp apples.  Peppery radishes.  Herb-infused venison sausage.
“Close yer eyes,” he instructed when I was practically dizzy with all the flavours.  Still, I complied immediately.  A rubbery moisture tickled my lips.  “Open,” he said simply.  I opened.  “Tell me what ye taste, Arsonist.”
I chewed the morsel of cheese thoughtfully, letting the taste and texture coat my mouth before finally swallowing.
“Creamy.  Thick.  Salty.  Sorrel.”
I opened my eyes only to fall into the inky vortex of Jamie’s pupils, which had expanded to almost eclipse his irises.  His hand still hovered near my mouth, muscles frozen in abstraction.  The cheesemonger let out an awkward little cough.  Jamie blinked, and the moment vanished.
“Sorrel?” he asked a bit gruffly.
“Yer lass has a fine palate, Fraser.  My sheep graze in fields full o’ it.”
I allowed myself a smug little smile.  Neither of us corrected the merchant’s presumptive pronoun.
Later that evening, I sat cross-legged before the fire with a picnic for one.  Frank had called from his office earlier to say he was working on notes for an upcoming symposium.  Before me lay the results of the afternoon’s market adventure.  Closing my eyes as I ate,  every mouthful set my senses ablaze.
We never found time to visit the jeweler that weekend either.
***
The next week, I fell ill with a miserable head cold.   Frank was in Oxford for his symposium, so I called Ginger Snap myself and explained to Jenny in a hoarse voice that Jamie should avoid coming to my flat at all costs.
I was curled up in a mentholated daze when there was a series of knocks.  It took several minutes to free myself from my blanket cocoon and shuffle to the front door.  Glancing in the entryway mirror, my hair called to mind an electrified poodle and my nose was twelve shades of raw, but I opened the door anyway.  No-one was there.  Leaning out to peer down the hallway, I practically tripped over a brown paper bag resting at my feet.
Inside was a metal thermos, still quite warm to the touch.  As I unscrewed the cap, my stuffed nose was assailed by fragrant steam.  Homemade cock-a-leekie soup.  I felt a glow fill my chest that had nothing to do with my fever.  Pouring a helping into a mug, I shuffled back to my couch-nest.  I felt better already.
***
The following week, Jamie was distracted.  I’d thanked him profusely for the soup, and asked if he could show me how to make it for myself.  As the chicken thighs and stock began to warm, however, I caught him glancing regularly at his phone, fingers drumming against his thigh.
“Are you expecting an important text?” I finally asked.
“Hmm?  Och, Arsonist, I’m verra sorry.  Tis only that we got a last-minute request tae cater a big corporate Christmas party, an’ Jenny is beside herself wi’ worrying.”  He tucked him phone into the pocket of his cargo pants.
“When’s the party?”
“T’morrow,” he confessed.
“What!  Jamie, what are you doing here?  You should have called me to reschedule.”
“T’wouldna be fair, what wi’ us missing last week on account of yer sniffles.  An’ wi’ Christmas ‘round the corner, I didna ken when I’d... er, when we’d have time for another lesson.”
I turned off the burner with a decisive twist.  Jamie opened his mouth to lodge a protest, but I beat him to the punch.
“Jamie, the soup will keep.  Growing your business is more important. I wish there was something more I could do to help, but under the circumstances...”
“Come wi’ me?” he blurted out.
I was nodding before the words finished leaving his mouth.  Notwithstanding the fact that he had just literally been teaching me how to boil water, I didn’t want to lose his company so soon.   We likely wouldn’t see one another again until after the New Year.
It was a thirty minute walk to Leith.  Jamie could probably have covered the distance in half that with his long strides, were it not for me trotting along beside him.  We stopped at several shops along the way to pick up provisions, arriving at Ginger Snap with our arms laden with the freshest food Edinburgh had to offer.
I had expected Jenny and Jamie to be working alone, but the fire station was abuzz with activity.  I was hastily introduced to Angus, a distant Fraser cousin; Mary, a childhood friend of Jenny’s; and Murtagh, Jamie and Jenny’s godfather.  They worked together like a well-oiled machine, and I stood awkwardly to one side, wondering what the hell I was doing there.  I was preparing to make my excuses when Jamie called me over to a spare station.  He gestured to the commercial-sized sink, which was full of vegetables of every dimension and colour.
“Claire, I need ye tae rinse and then cut these inta nice even pieces.  Can ye do tha’ fer me?”
"Consider it done, chef,” I said with a jaunty salute.
There was a feeling of camaraderie as we each went about our assigned tasks.  I chopped.  Mary baked.  Angus filleted.  Jamie cooked, and Jenny plated the various canapés, salads and sauces and stored them in the enormous refrigerators that lined the back wall.    Murtagh’s role seemed mostly to keep the troops in line with an assortment of verbal barbs.
Music played in the background.  Volleys of witty banter flowed between us, but never at the expense of the work or anyone’s feelings.  Angus nicked himself with his filleting knife, and Jenny sent him to my station for treatment, saying I was the team’s resident doctor.  I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt so at home.
Time passed quickly and before I knew it, it was dark outside.  The bulk of the work was done and the pace slackened, the pressure of the looming deadline relieved.  One by one we cleared our stations, meeting at the small seating area to share a well-earned drink.
Jenny sunk into the couch beside me and let out a loud sigh.
“Ouf, I canna believe we got it all done.  Claire, ye were a godsend.  Normally I do most o’ the prep work, but it leaves me no time tae arrange the dishes.”
I demurred, uncomfortable with the praise.
“Nay, Arsonist, ye were amazing,” Jamie began to object, but he was interrupted by my phone buzzing.  Glancing down, I felt my face fall.   I’d completely forgotten about Frank.  Now he was texting, asking me where I was.  I quickly fired off a reply, then stuffed the phone into my pocket.
“Everything alright?” Jenny asked.
“Oh, yes.  It’s only my fiancé, asking when I might be home,” I answered, still distracted by my uncharacteristic lapse.  As I glanced up, I ran straight into Jamie’s iceberg gaze.
“I didna realize ye were engaged,” he looked pointedly at my bare ring finger.  “Congratulations.”
He said the word as though every syllable pained him.  I quelled the urge to explain, to say it wasn’t a real engagement because I’d never agreed, that I’d only been looking for a sense of security, but somehow found myself in a cage.
Instead I hastily finished my drink, called myself an Uber and quietly wished everyone a good night, all while avoiding the many questions written across Jamie’s expressive face.

Historically accurate Hamilton
Hamilton faces a lot of criticism because of its historical inaccuracies, but people seem to forget that it isn’t supposed to be completely accurate. It’s historical fiction, and many details were tweaked to make the musical run more smoothly, make more sense, and generally be easier for an audience to follow. To emphasise my point, I rewrote some of Hamilton to show what it might have been like if it was completely historically accurate (or, parts of it. I’m not rewriting an entire musical).
NB: I am by no means a historical expert. The following is meant for comedy purposes only
For songs where multiple people sing, the speaker will be denoted by the following letters: B – Burr, H – Hamilton, L – Lafayette, J – John Laurens, M – Hercules Mulligan, T – Thomas Jefferson,
Use of the squiggles (~~~~~) means some of the song was skipped
I think that’s everything! Enjoy the musical!!!!!

Aaron Burr – Historically accurate
~~~~~
B: You punched the bursar?
A: Nope
Showtime! Showtime! Yo!
J: I’m John Lauren’s, in the place to be! It’d make sense for you to meet all three Of us together, but unfortunately It’s gonna be a while ‘til you finally meet me!
L: Oui oui, mon ami, je m'appelle Lafayette! And just like Laurens, I have not arrived yet I sing from afar and I say “bonsoir” To these strangers at the bar, they do not know moi
M: Brrrah brraaah! I am Hercules Mulligan Talking to myself, cos I don’t have a single friend Wait, I’m already friends with Alex Ham, And this introduction’s pointless, cos he knows who I am! No more people, we need a solution The two of us alone can’t start a revolution!
Well, if it ain't the prodigy of Princeton college! Aaron Burr! Give us a verse, drop some knowledge!
B: Good luck with that, you’re all on your own, Even Hamilton can’t start a revolution alone
M: Burr, the revolution's imminent. What do you stall for?
H: If you stand for nothing Burr, what’ll you fall for?
M: Who? Who are you?
H: ….. Hamilton? Your friend?
M: Oh. Right. Yea.
*awkward pause, then lights go down*
The Story of Tonight – Historically accurate
M: Raise a glass to the two of us
H: Why are there so few of us?
M: Not much is happening tonight
H: I need another drink tonight
M: They will forget about tonight
His and Hers
Requested by Anon: “Sandor x Pregnant! Reader”
You never enjoyed the death matches. You weren’t a fan of blood and gore, but you especially hated the “trials by combat”. You weren’t sure how exactly slicing the head off of another man proved your innocence. You sat next to your older half sister, the reigning Queen Regent, right in the front row. She was in much better spirits since her husband had died and her son crowned King. She had never been cruel to you, her attention was usually focused on Tyrion, but she had now been almost kind to you in the time since becoming widowed.
“Lady Lannister,” You heard from your side. You couldn’t help the smile that came across your face when you looked up at the large man who had appeared at your side. His place was technically by the King, but no one would question if he stood by the Queen’s sister. He had been charged with guarding your chambers more than a few times. That’s when you had gotten to know him. But it wasn’t until last night that you had first kissed him. You smiled a bit wider remembering it.
“Nice to see you, Hound,” You said. You saw his mouth twitch, but he kept his mask of stoicism. You couldn’t help but think what would have happened last night had you not been interrupted by your brother knocking on your door. You wondered if he would have taken you right there in your chambers. You were hoping he would. He had seemed just as disappointed as you were when he had to pull away and stand in the corner of your room, pretending he hadn’t been on top of you in your bed just moments before when Jamie entered the room. Jamie didn’t question why the Hound was there, he assumed he was doing his job and protecting you. You hoped he would be assigned to guard your room again tonight. Maybe then he would finish what you started last night.
If it were your choice, you would grab his hand and take him back to the castle. You were sure he would rather be there too, knowing how he felt about his brother. He had told you how much he hated seeing the Mountain and he was once again the champion for the King in today’s trial against a Dornish man who was accused of stealing from the Red Keep.
The usual cheers came for the Mountain as he entered the arena. Any hint of a smile left the Hound’s face immediately. Boos rang out over the crowd as the Dornish man was pushed into the center. He was a big man, not as tall as the Mountain but at least as wide. Maybe he would have a shot. The Mountain did his usual rounds, getting cheers louder for him. The Dornish man took the opportunity to lunge towards the Mountain, toppling him over. The Dornish man held his own for just a moment, but the Mountain flipped them over, sitting his whole weight on the man’s chest. He squeezed the man’s head with both hands. You gasped, grabbing onto the Hound’s arm in surprise as the Mountain ripped the man’s head off of his body, the spine coming with it as blood poured onto the ground. You felt sick to your stomach. The whole thing lasted less than a minute. At least it was over.
You realized your hand was still on the Hound’s arm and you pulled away, placing your hands in your lap.
“Well, that was quick,” Cersei said with that polite smile of hers. “The Gods must not have wanted their time wasted.”
“Or the Mountain is just a beast,” You said. Your sister shot you a look.
The King stood up, clapping excitedly with his wicked grin on his face, his betrothed looking as horrified as you felt next to him in her chair. “Gregor Clegane, a good show as always. How many battles have you championed for my family? Over a hundred I expect.”
“Yes, Your Grace,” The Mountain confirmed.
“It is high time you were properly rewarded,” The King said graciously. You heard an annoyed laugh from the Hound next to you. “You are a man I would be disappointed to see be the last of his line. You may have your pick of a wife, I’ll seek out the most beautiful women in King’s Landing for you.”
You felt sick to your stomach. Of course, Joffrey’s idea of fun was torturing some helpless woman by wedding her to the most cruel and violent man in the country. It wasn’t enough that he had that poor Stark girl torment. You had never liked your nephew. You were closer in age to him than to his mother, he had no respect for you.
“Any woman?” The Mountain asked.
“Be sure to pick one with some lands and a good name,” King Joffrey smirked. “Get your money’s worth, Clegane.” The Mountain’s face split into a grin as horrible as Joffrey’s. You realized he was looking right at you.
“That one,” He said, pointing a blood stained finger at you. You saw the Hound clutch the hilt of his sword beside you.
King Joffrey clapped again gleefully as you looked to your sister. Even her eyes were wide in fear for you, and she didn’t even like you all that much. “My son,” She said, her tone warning, but Joffrey ignored her as he came over to you, pulling you out of your seat and towards the arena.
“My dear aunt, a wonderful choice,” He said as he nearly pulled your arm out of its socket dragging you into the arena. You could smell the death that clung to the air as the hem of your dress dragged in the blood. Joffrey shoved you into the Mountain and the beast swung you up into his arms, holding you like a prize. You stared back helplessly at the Hound as the crowd cheered.
*
His bandaged knuckles throbbed as he took a swig from his wineskin. The Hound sat on a bottom step, the noise from the feast still audible. He had to resist throwing a punch into the stone wall of the corridor. His bed chambers were still a wreck, his table in several pieces. The maids were too terrified of him to try and enter. If the Hound thought that he was angry the day after the betrothal, when he had beaten his own hands bloody on his walls, it was nothing compared to how he felt after watching you stand before the everyone in the sept, draped in the cloak of his house, declaring that you were now his brother’s property.
He had barely seen you before the wedding and part of him felt like that was the Queen’s doing. He was sure that she knew how he felt about you. He thought that he had hidden it well, trying not to let his eyes linger on you for too long. Maybe he was always too ready to take guard duty by your chambers, or too pleased when she ordered him to walk you through the city when you asked to venture off.
The Hound had wanted to kiss you for some time now. He had been surprised when you had done it that night, just a week ago. Gods, it felt so much longer. If he could, he would go back to that night and take you away. Or at least tell the Kingslayer to fuck off.
Almost as if summoned by his thoughts of you, you turned the corner to the corridor he sat in. You spotted him, your face breaking into a soft smile as you walked towards him.
“I was wondering where you had wandered off to,” You said, standing above him where he sat on the step. You weren’t used to looking down at him. “Plenty of ale in the dining hall.”
“No offense, milady,” The Hound said, still not looking at you. “But I’d rather get my balls ripped off by a direwolf.”
“You think it’s fun for me?” You said, anger rising in your chest. You didn’t know why he was upset at you. You didn’t want to be married to Gregor Clegane. You had no say in the goings on of your life. Your father had tried to sway the King, but Joffrey was changing his mind. You suspected Tywin hadn’t tried all that hard anyways.
“Didn’t say it was,” The Hound said, taking another sip. “He’s going to beat you bloody.”
“You’re being a dick,” You said, your hands on your hips. He gave a humorless laugh. “You’re acting like you don’t even care. You always act like you don’t care.”
“You think I don’t care?” The Hound said, rising up to his full height, towering over you, but you didn’t back down. You knew he would never hurt you. He could never hurt you. “You think I don’t want to kill my brother?”
“You always want to kill your brother, Sandor, that’s nothing new.” Any time you used his name, his real name, his jaw tensed. No one called him anything other than “hound” or “dog”.
“He will hurt you and that little cunt Joffrey thinks it’s a game, a joke.” The Hound grabbed your arms with his large hands, startling you. “He doesn’t deserve to call you his wife.”
“I don’t want to be his wife,” You said, reaching up to touch the burned flesh of his face and he let you.
“You don’t want to be mine either,” He said firmly, grabbing your wrist.
“Why not?”
“You need a good man,” He said. “And there aren’t any here.”
You stood on your toes, lifting yourself just enough to kiss him. He stooped to pick you up, his arms wrapped around your waist. He carried you into the next corridor. You could still hear your wedding feast as you kissed your groom’s brother. He pressed you into the rough brick wall and you wrapped your legs around his waist, your wedding gown racked up to your thighs.
“I may be his wife,” You said breathlessly as he kissed your neck. “But I’m yours. From this day until the end of my days.” You said these words earlier in the sept but now you felt the meaning of them as the Hound’s lips stilled on your neck.
“Aye,” He said finally, kissing your lips. “You’re mine.”
“And you’re mine.”
“And I’m yours. Til the end of my days and all that shit.”
You threaded your fingers through his hair, kissing him as fiercely as you could. You didn’t care that someone could easily turn the corner and find you in a very compromising position  with the king’s bodyguard.
“I need you,” You whispered, your teeth raking his ear lobe. He groaned his hands sliding further up your legs to grab your ass.
“Here?”
“Here.”
His hand slid in between your legs, feeling the pooling wetness there. “You’re fucking dripping, milady,” He said, smugness edging his tone. He liked that he had that effect on you.
“Sandor,” You begged, hitting his shoulder with your fist lightly. “We don’t-,” He cut you off, slipping two large fingers until you and making you gasp. He watched your face, a smirk playing at his lips as he rubbed you from the inside out. You bit your lip to keep from crying out when his thumb found your clit. He kissed you roughly, rubbing faster and faster until you moaned into his mouth as you came.
He wasted no time in undoing his pants, just enough to shove his hard cock into you full hilt. You couldn’t help the near scream you let out as he filled you, your nails grabbing at his chainmail armor. He clapped his hand over your mouth as he thrust into you.
“Keep quiet,” He warned with a grunt. The brick scraped at the skin on your back that your gown didn’t cover but even that felt good. You liked that you would be able to feel him even later.
His fingers felt like fire across your thighs as he gripped you tightly, his thrusts becoming wilder as he got closer. You wished that you could have your wedding night with him, in a large bed where you could curl into him afterwards, but this sloppy and quick encounter would be enough. For now.
He moved to hold you with both hands, kissing you hard. “Fuck, you feel so good,” He grunted.
“Finish inside me,” You said, making him groan. You were trying to remember every inch of him, from the way he stretched you to the way his beard scraped at your face. “I want to feel it, Sandor.”
You felt a shudder run through him as he released into you, holding you tight to make sure you didn’t fall to the ground. He rested his head in the crook of your neck for a brief moment.
He finally set you back down on your feet, letting your gown fall back into place. You could feel the stickiness creep down your thighs and it almost made you want to go again, but you knew you didn’t have time.
The Hound bent to kiss you again, his hand cupping your face. He knew what would happen later that night and he didn’t want to think of it. He wanted to just keep thinking of how good you felt around him, saying his name in that breathy moan of yours.
“Lady Clegane,” You heard from the main corridor. You gave the Hound’s hand a gentle squeeze as you saw the look on his face. You were a Clegane now, taken under the family’s cloak. It just stung more than he ever thought it could.
You walked out, the Hound shortly behind you, finding Podrick looking around the corridor. He gave the Hound a frightened look before looking back at you. “Sorry, milady, Lord Tyrion asked me to find you.”
“Yes, of course, thank you,” You said. With another side eyed glance at the Hound, Podrick turned back and left for the dining hall.
You felt the Hound’s rough hand on your shoulder, fixing the back of your gown that had gotten mussed during your encounter. You looked back at him, offering him a gentle smile, but he avoided your eyes.
“Better get back, Lady Clegane.”
*
He couldn’t stay away from you. He tried. Gods know he tried. He hated thinking about you sharing his brother’s bed, knowing exactly what Gregor would do to you. What was worse was knowing he couldn’t do anything about it. It wasn’t until nearly a fortnight after the wedding that he finally swallowed his pride and sought you out, going to the chambers you now shared with the Mountain when he knew that the Mountain would be off somewhere, killing someone in the name of the Lannisters.
You had been so happy to see the Hound that you nearly forgot how miserable you had been since your wedding. You didn’t even speak, you just pounced on him. The arrangement wasn’t ideal, but at least you got the Hound, even if it was just stolen moments that you could sneak away. Sometimes you even got lucky, when Gregor had to go off on a task set forth by King Joffrey, you were able to spend the night with the Hound, wrapped in his arms, in his bed, sleepy and sated after he had fucked you until you screamed his name, forgetting that he wasn’t the Clegane you had married. Your husband had his whores, you had his brother.
“If we left right now,” You had said, on one of these nights, the Hound’s hand tracing circles on your back lazily as you laid your head on his broad, hairy chest. “We could make it at least to Stokeworth before anyone even realized we were gone.”
“Is that what you want?” The Hound asked, his eyes already closed. He always fell asleep almost immediately after he finished.
The question had thrown you. Of course it was what you wanted. You had fantasized about it every moment since you took your vows. Except it would come at a price. Yes, here, you had to be married to that awful beast of a man, but you if you ran away, you would never see your family again. Even if your sister was standoffish and her first born a spoiled shit, you still loved your brothers, and your niece and nephew. You hated to think what would happen to sweet Mrycella and Tommen if left alone here. They were good children, you didn’t want to see them grow into the same sort as their elder brother. Not to mention, you would spend the rest of your lives with a bounty on your head, living in fear of being caught.
“I want to be on top this time,” You had said instead, rolling over onto the Hound.
“Again?” He had chuckled under you, squeezing your hips. He had grunted when you slid his quickly hardening cock back into you. It was a good enough distraction, it kept you from having to burst your bubble.
Until now.
You were good at keeping the peace. It was what your father said you were best at, in fact. But even you couldn’t calm Gregor Clegane when he was in a rage. Over something stupid, as well. A lost bet. The Maester said you were lucky he hadn’t broken any bones when he had flung you across the room. Just bruised and a bit bloody, but after you were bandaged up, you were free to go back to your chambers. You were safe, as well, as Gregor had been called away by the King, yet again, sent to Harrenhal. But it wasn’t it the bruises or wounds or even your husband that weighed on you. It was the news that the Maester had for you.
You walked in the exact opposite direction of your chambers, towards the Red Keep where you knew the Hound would be standing guard outside the King’s door. Normally, you were much more discreet, never daring to visit him when you knew your nephew could see, but you needed to see him and it needed to be now.
You turned the corner, feeling the weight on your chest lightening just slightly when you saw him. He had heard you coming, his hand on his sword just in case you had been a threat, but when he saw it was you, his hand dropped. When he saw the bandages, he stepped away from his post.
“What in the hells happened?” He asked, his hand on your cheek. You placed your hand over his, looking up at him. You didn’t even need to answer for his jaw to tense. “I’m going to kill him. I’m going to fucking-,”
“Sandor,” You said softly. “We need to leave, tonight.”
The Hound stared at you, studying your face to try to tell if you were serious. “You want to leave?”
“We need to leave,” You corrected. You kept your voice low, pulling him away from the door. “Gregor won’t be back for a few days, if we leave right when your watch ends-,”
“What happened?” The Hound asked.
You took a deep breath. You still hadn’t quite processed what the Maester had told you just moments before, it didn’t feel real. But you needed to say it and say it now, otherwise he would overhear when the Maester no doubt told Cersei and you couldn’t think of a worse way for him to find out. “I’m pregnant,” You said, your hands placed on your still flat stomach. You don’t think you had ever seen such genuine fear on his face. “Sandor?” You asked.
“And you don’t know if…,” He trailed off. You didn’t need to hear the rest of his question to know what it was. It had been your first thought as well.
“There’s no way to know, not for sure,” You said. “But if you come with me, if you leave with me tonight, it doesn’t matter, not to me. You’re mine, remember? And I’m yours. I love you, with my whole heart I do, but I need to leave tonight. I’ll go with or without you, but please, don’t make me go without you.” You could feel yourself rambling, the tears starting to fall down your cheeks. He stared at you, dumbfounded. You showed him countless times how much you cared for him, but this was the first time he heard it, heard those words, I love you. You wondered if he had ever heard those words before in his life.
“I’ll leave with you,” He said finally. You pulled him down, kissing his lips with as much force as you could. He lifted you off your feet, holding you close. “You’re mine, it’s mine.”
*
You stretched your arms high above you, feeling your sore back crack. The morning sun beamed in from the small window of the cottage. You laughed slightly as you looked at the empty side of the bed next to you. You struggled to your feet, wrapping your dressing gown around yourself. You knew exactly where to find the Hound.
You could already hear the swing of the hammer before you walked outside. It was such a common sound now a days, it hadn’t even woken you.
“Sandor,” You said with a laugh. “It was fine yesterday. It was fine the day before. And the day before that. If you keep fucking with it, it’ll just be a pile of kindling by the time the baby gets here.”
The Hound didn’t even look up from the excellently built crib as he kneeled in front of it, examining it for imperfections that weren’t there but he was convinced he could find. “What do you know about crib building?”
“What do you?”
“Exactly,” He grumbled.
You walked over to him and patted his head as he stared at the crib. He sighed, plopping down onto the grass in front of it. You lowered yourself into his lap, with some difficulty. He placed his hand on your large stomach absently as he looked at his creation. Any time you were near him, it was like his hand was drawn to the child inside of you. He even slept with his arm tightly around you.
“What if it breaks when she’s in there?” He asked.
“It’s not going to break,” You said. “And I still think he’s a boy.”
“And you’re wrong.”
“I’m the one carrying the damned thing,” You laughed.
“So? Doesn’t mean shit,” He said.
“You just don’t like my name.”
“James is a cunt name, no, I don’t like it,” The Hound said. “I’ve killed men named James, I’m not naming my son James.”
“So you decided that means we’re having a daughter then?”
“No, I think we’re having a daughter because we’re having a fucking daughter,” The Hound said. He finally looked away from the crib, looking back at you, the corners of his mouth twitching slightly as he saw you smiling at him. “Hope to whatever stupid God is listening she gets your looks, though.”
