Chasing you
Tumblr media
Summary: You’ve been on the run from Carol after sending a drunk voicemail. A month later, Carol has found you and doesn’t plan to let you go.
A/N: Came out of a writing hiatus cause I love this woman. There’s not enough carol x reader fics on this app and she gives me the warm fuzzies. Comments and reshares are appreciated :)
Warnings: Pretty PG-13, playful teasing, fluff, some tears, few misspellings, mentions some characters from The Marvels
Three things were painfully obvious as you woke up. This wasn’t your bed. These weren’t your clothes. The “Space Girls Do It Better” sleeveless crop top didn’t belong to you.
Oh, and there was a fluffy, orange flerken licking its genitals ontop of your chest. A pretty deep cleaning by the looks of it.
“Um.” your voice croaked, the result of a long nap. “Mr. Flerken sir, I’m going to move you and place you on the floor-” Three tentacles shoot out from the confines of its mouth, wraps around a nearby metal dresser, and swallow it whole.
An audible nervous gulp can be heard from your throat. “New plan. Leave when it pleases you.”
Armed with the killer fluffball, you creep along the cramped halls of the spaceship and take in the colorful murals that are painted inconsistently through the halls. One reads vaguely familiar, “New Jersey.”
What’s a New Jersey?
In the back of your mind you have a nagging suspicion of the identity of the owner of the ship. But if you were right, then that would be a bigger problem than someone undressing you while you were unconscious.
You enter the main pilot room as a childlike scream jars both you and the flerken.
Kamala Khan’s wide eyed, all teeth smile shines from across the room. “OMG you’re awake!”
“God, no.” you groan. You plead to the heavens that this is all just a stress conjured dream even as the teenager morphs a hard light disk to propel her forward to tackle you into a warm hug. “Kamala, please tell me you're the owner of this ship and you’ve gotten your spaceship driver’s license early?
Her lips curve. “Sure.”
A relieved sigh depletes from your body.
“Sure, I missed you. But this is Carol’s ship. After you left she’s been tracking you for the past few weeks. We got an alert that you were involved in a bar brawl on the planet Aladna yesterday. When she found you, you were already beaten unconscious and bleeding from the attack. Carol scooped you up and took care of your injuries in the med bay.” Her signature dopey smile returns. “She nearly blasted the whole bar apart when she found you. It was epic.” she sighs with a faraway look.
Her smile wouldn’t be so bright if she knew you had no interest in being on the same planet yet alone on a small ship with her honored captain. Your frantic eyes start to scan every nook and cranny of the room. As if Carol would materialize from the launch keys at any moment. You drag Kamala to the control panel and start to hit buttons at random. “No, none of this is epic. Kamala, afraid we need to cut this reunion short. Drop me off at the nearest planet or station. Shoot, give me a space jumpsuit and I’ll simply float outside in outerspace. But I Can Not. Be. Here.”
Kamala gives a sly look at how you’re acting. “Carol said you’d try to jump ship once you woke up.” she smiles as she pets the flerken still in your arms. “Something about you being embarrassed over something moronic.”
And there it was. Until now there was a slim grasp of hope that Carol hadn’t known what you did but this just confirmed not only did she know but she wasn’t going to let it go. Goody. No way would you tell the whole story of how you’d gone out drinking with some Skrull girls because Carol was driving you crazy in her freaking halter tops. Then you found out she was married to a prince! Sure, it was only a political marriage but still the revelation made you want to punch something or someone. So drunk out of your mind, you left the most pathetic voicemail of all time sounding like a teenager with a crush. Talking about how she attracts you more than the rules of gravity. What was that! The voicemail ended with your declaration to take the prince of Aladna in a fight if that’s what it took to get her attention.
In your defense, she does like to fight. So you did punch someone…or several someones at the bar.
“It’s nothing.” you blink away the memory. “Carol didn’t have any right to kidnap me off the planet”
“Aren’t you a little old to be “kidnaped?” the dreaded voice calls out from behind you both.
You whip your head around, guilt written all over your face even as your jaw slackens at the hottest, yet fatigued, space hero in the galaxy.
But at the moment Captain Marvel just looked like Carol. A half smile gracing her lips even as she leans against the entrance. Bare arms out, another damn crop top that barely covers her belly button, and an empty space of tantalizing skin at her stomach before the top half of her supersuit hangs limp at her hips.
It was giving off duty lesbian about to repair an engine and it was making you absolutely feral.
Which is why you held the flerken outstretched in her direction.
“Not another step, Danvers.” you warn. “This flerkin here has taken a liking to me and isn’t afraid to defend me.”
Carol tilts her head and her full teasing smile tasks force, causing a full quiver in your heart.
Taking slow, meticulous steps toward you, not caring about the fur-covered danger dangling from your hands. “You’ve taken a liking to my pet, sweetheart?”
A spurtle of incoherent nonsense leaves your mouth. “It found me when I woke up. I even named him Ginger.”
“Real creative.” her deadpan sarcasm does not go unnoticed. “Put Goose down before he decides to eat you.” You get ready to fight the command but ‘Goose’ does a loud meow and you decide that’s him agreeing with his apparent owner.
Her eyes flicker to the noisy teenager next to you. “Kamala, go find another wall to destroy.”
“Aye aye, captain.” You make a desperate attempt to grab Kamala but the small betrayer just mouths “You’re in trouble.” before prancing away.
With Kamela’s exit the room is too quiet and the once spacious room feels tiny and empty, leaving only the bruising reminder of why you’ve avoided Carol for weeks. Sure, your friend can fly, shoot rays of energy from her fist, and literally crush you with her bare hands but none of that ever scared you. It wasn’t your physical body you were afraid she would break, but the fragile, sensitive heart you always protected. But then there was Carol with her small, gentle smile and her laughing eyes and a warm presence that made you want to be soft instead of sharp with pointy edges.
Under Carol’s gaze you were a giant raw wound that was left open and too exposed. You just knew Carol could see it.
Which is why getting off this ship was imperative. With a new, hardened resolve you turn around and commerce pressing every button in sight.
“You trying to order a pizza? Because there’s an easier way than having us crash into the nearest asteroid.”  The pull of her voice is so strong after weeks of zero contact but you ignore it nonetheless. Not that it deters Carol. “But maybe your bad driving is a result of getting your ass whooped down on Aladna.”
She’s baiting you. Do not give in.
“I mean the fact that you got your butt handed to you by a group of people who normally only fight in song has to make you mad, right?” The silence in response finally gets to her as she stomps up to the dashboard controls and undos every button you’ve pushed in concession. Each time she reaches for a button near yours, fingers a centimeter from touching, you yank away and take a step away. She grunts in return and counters with another step closer.
Her next jap finally hits her mark with stinging precision. “Maybe next time you should ask the Prince for backup.”
A response fires out your mouth even as you slam your hand against a particular shiny button. “I had it handled, okay? That pretty boy prince might’ve impressed you somehow but his presence in a fight is as needed as yours is to me right now.” The lie turned your stomach and made you feel like Goose’s shit. “You had no right and no reason to take me off that damn planet because I had it covered. Just drop me off at the nearest planet.”
Carol could smell the lie a mile away. The words bounced off her chest. If anything she was trying to hide her arrogant grin at successfully getting your undivided attention, knowing it would make you more pissed. Which was always an adorable sight.
When her sources flagged a sighting of you on Aladna she’d left the spaceship at supersonic speed to reach you after hunting your trail down for the past month.
At first, friendship was all she needed. But time spent together on various missions gave her deeper understanding on how darn sweet you were despite scratching at anyone who tried to get close.
But once she clicked play on that cute, yet slightly violent, voicemail any vague restraints of being only friends were dashed. Now here you were, her prickly kitten, and she wasn’t going to be deterred by any of your rounded jabs.
Now here you stood. Causing internal issues to her ship's mainframe. Slight bruises marring your delicate skin. All reminders that you’d rather be dropped in outer space than occupy the same room with her. Well tough luck. Patience was never her strongsuit.
A blur out of the corner of your eye was the only warning before the sudden warm body surrounded you from behind. Two unyielding hands grasped yours in an attempt to halt any further error messages from appearing on the dashboard. “Are you not satisfied with my ship, sweetheart? Because you’re awfully determined to break it.” In another determined step she removes any space separating you two until her front is flushed against your back. Tense doesn’t begin to describe how rigid your body gets as you realize, to your detriment, she’s forgone a bra. Even the tiniest move from her causes her soft, malleable breast to move against your back. Your knees buckle even as you silently curse Carol for completely smashing the boundaries of your personal bubble.
Warm fingers grasp each of your hands and her thumbs caress circles on each hand that shoots straight to your flamed core. A whisper of her lips speaks into your ear, tingling all the way into your spine. “Six. There’s six bruises across your delicate body from that stupid fight. But you didn’t need me, huh?”
The touch and slight reprimand in her voice makes your body shiver. “T-that’s not what I meant.”
“Oh?” You peek behind to see her face as her fingers gently travel down your arm. Brows furrowed with an intense glare as she inspects your minor injuries in detail. “But that’s what you said, no?”
In an effort to clutch the last remaining shreds of your pride you squint up at her but end up lowering your glare. “Even if you helped me, that didn’t give you the right to take me off the planet.” you murmur. “And who changed my clothes!”
The gentle hand remains on your arm but the dark look is dashed away, replaced with a serene smile. “Obviously that was me. Like I would allow anyone else to get a peek at what’s mine.” she snorts. As if the idea was simply absurd.
All fight leaves your body at the new startling news that Carol, your Carol, just called you hers PLUS  she’s seen you naked?
You gear up to start a rant but two arms twirl you around and hefts you up. Your legs and arms cling to her even as you yell at her to set you down.
Bullheaded Carol ignores you and instead leisurely walks to her pilot seat. As if this was just a normal Tuesday. When she plops in the driver seat, she settles your weight to straddle her hips. Immediately, you try to scramble away but she wraps her arms around you in a metal vise. That damn innocent smile returns. “The chast act ends now. Because I was prepared to let you go but then you left me this.” It’s like a slow motion car accident as she pulls her cell from her pocket and the dreadful voicemail is played at full volume.
Renewed vigor allows you to break out of her arms but you're too slow as one hand holds you in place on her lap. Making you listen to your drunk declaration of love.
The tears come as you're forced to helplessly listen, already anticipating the mockery that was soon to come, except Carol didn’t laugh. Instead, you felt soft, slow kisses press against your wet check, trailing your tears.
Carol nuzzling your neck is the only thing stopping your crying as you realize she wasn’t laughing. Her tired smile and fatigued smile returns. “You're so dramatic, kitten. Don’t ask me what “right” I have to kidnap you and bring you on our ship after you left a message like this for me.
Sensing you were no longer a flight risk, her hard grip releases your wrists. Instead, she traces your face, rubbing away your tear trails. “For now on, you're coming back and helping our missions, warming my bed, and if you start anymore bar fights you better finish them or have your girlfriend there to finish the job for you.”
For the first time in a month, a genuine smile graces your face. Brave enough to fully settle your weight on Carol’s lap, you grasp the nap of her neck to angle her lips for a kiss. When your lips finally connect a deep, dragged out moan leaves Carol’s mouth. Her hands slide up your thighs and squeeze your ass. “Don't run away again.” she warns.
“Aye aye Captain.”

“It’s Better This Way.”
P/S: baby daddy!eren and reader are having casual conversation like old times
W/C: 1146
A/N: cute SFW fluffy scene just showing their relationship together. No triggers, light flirting, baby mentioned…
Little snippet of the backstory of my OC (substituted for Eren) showing their relationship dynamic and maybe a few mixed feelings. Wanted to do something cute and simple. (Note: Eren is now in a relationship but wasnt @ the time of conception or in previous fic ‘Let Me Help’) lots of dialogue this time
Previous fic: Let Me Help
Tumblr media
“Aye yo, whats up baby mama!” Eren says as you pick up his daily call. “Ugh E, you know I hate when you call me that.” You say, rolling your eyes. You shift the phone to the right side pressing it between your ear and shoulder. “I mean is that not who you are though,” he concluded. You could hear the shrug in his voice. “I would prefer you call me by my name or at least the mother of your child.” you express. “I don't get the negative connotation behind it anyway. You had my baby. You are my baby’s mother therefore you are my babymama.”
Knowing this conversation wasn't going anywhere, you decided to switch the subject. “Anyway, are you coming by to see c/n today?” You ask as you rummage around your room. “I’m going to try. Things have been a little iffy on my end.” He said with a release of breath. You press the speaker and lay the phone down on the dresser. “Issues at home?’ You question as you reach into the top of your closet to grab your shoes. “Unfortunately. I don’t know man. I mean he’s 6 months old. I thought she would be over this by now.” He said.
You and Eren hadn’t been together when he found out about your pregnancy. And when he finally found out, he was already in a different relationship. It wasn’t the easiest thing for him to get back home and tell his then girlfriend that he had a child with his ex. She initially left him out of anger but eventually came back around to try again. Of course, they were still having their own problems in regards to his relationship with you but he refused to let her be a barrier between him and his son. You and Eren had been on and off for years and were best friends well before then so your relationship was pretty much solid before she ever came along, still that didn't stop her from acting the way that she did. You could see how stressful it was on him some days but you both tried to make the most of it. “Well, Rennie baby, if you want it to work then it will. But things like that can take time. But don't get discouraged. You’re a good man and an amazing father.” You encourage him.
You pull a black bodycon dress dress with a thigh spilt and keyhole neckline out from your closet and press it against your body as you speak. “How is he doing anyway?” He asked “Acting like his daddy. Always making noise and trying to eat anything he gets his hands on.” You tease. “Sounds about right. I miss my little man.” He sighed. You laugh to yourself. “Eren, you literally just saw him yesterday.” “Yeah, and that’s way too long. Where is he anyway?” He questioned. “He is in his crib taking a much needed nap.” You say. The sound of a FaceTime call coming in grabbed your attention. “Damn E, I was changing.” You say as you rush to swipe to answer. “I mean, it’s not like I haven't seen it before.” He teases. “Boy, don’t get cussed out.” You say as his face comes into view on the screen. “Can I see him” he asks. You roll your eyes and walk across the hall to the nursery.
Opening the door slowly you turn the camera around so that he can see into the crib. His face softens at the sight of his son as he snaps a few FaceTime photos. After he is finished, you creep your way back out of the room, “My little man is so handsome. Looking just like his daddy.” He smiles. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re full of yourself?” You remark, propping your phone up on the dresser as you walk back into your closet. “No, but I’ve been told I fill people up. You would know.” He playfully shot back. “See this is why you keep getting in trouble now, that mouth of yours.” You say. “I would respond but I’ll let you have that one, where are you going anyway?” He asked. “If you must know, I have a date.” You say checking yourself over again in the mirror. “A date? With who? Since when are you dating?” he fired off questions. “Okay, first of all, you’re c/n’s daddy not mine. Second, you don't know him. And third, why does it matter.” You respond, placing a hand on your hip.
“Cause I need to know who got you out here in this freakum dress like you grown.” he fussed. “Boy, I am grown.” You laugh. “Yeah, aight. Don’t get no whoopin.” He said. “Been there. Done that.” You teased, sending him a wink. You both start laughing again. “But seriously y/n, you look amazing.” He said gently. “Thank you Rennie.” You smile. You pick up two pairs of your heels and hold them out in front of the camera. “Which shoes?” You ask him. “Nude, you only wear red bottoms for me.” He smirked. You roll your eyes again. “You are seriously a hopeless flirt.” You say as you slip into the nude stilettos with clear straps that he chose. You grab a matching set of earrings and a thin chain necklace to complete your fit. “Okay, final look?” You say to him and you give him a spin. He watched you intently, looking you up and down. “Reeeeen.” You whine, “Serious opinion.” “Seriously?” He questioned. You nod at him. “That. Right there. Is why you’re my baby mama right now, cause damn y/n.” He responded. You shake your head at him as you feel the heat flush your face. “Whatever, I have to get ready and go.” You grab your purse and your phone and walk towards the door.
“If you decide to come by text my mom. She’ll be here with c/n.” You tell him grabbing your keys. You say goodbye to your mother as you walk to your car. “Okay, have fun. Be safe. Let me know when you make it.” He sounded off. “I know. I will. Will you be here by the time I make it home?” You ask him as you open your driver’s side door and get in the car. “Depends on how late you get back so just text me when you’re on the way.” He says. “Okay, I'm going.” You say. “Okay, I love you babydoll. Talk to you later.” He responds. “I love you too E.” You reply. He smiles and blows you a kiss before hanging up. You sit in the driver seat for a few moments, letting out a bittersweet sigh. It’s better this way you remind yourself as you start the car and pull out of the driveway

Come hell or high water. | Dean Winchester X Reader.
Summary: Looming over the Winchesters and [Y/N] is the war between heaven and hell. Dean will ultimately be faced with a choice he’d never be able to make. What will happen?
This will be a multi-part story, not necessarily set in a specific season but around 4-5 would be the best fit.
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader
Warnings: None
Mentions: Sam Winchester, Lucifer, random made up characters to further the plot.
Here’s Part II if you haven’t read it.
Tumblr media
Dean was the first to come to, coughing several times as he looked around to try and determine where the hell he was. Blinking several times to clear up his eyes he’d look from left to right—the surrounding area was dusty, dark, musty smelling and had rugs or blankets covering the windows. All the makings of an abandoned building of some sort. “Damn it.” He said aloud, realizing that they’d been hunting vamps and must’ve gotten jumped at some point. Though his memory was fuzzy for some reason. Now that he’d sort of figured out the location, he turned to the left and saw [Y/N] who was still unconscious. “[Y/N/N]. Babe.. [Y/N]!” He tried to be assertive but not too loud, after all he didn’t know where the vamps or whoever got the jump on them were. They could be anywhere.
It was no use though, [Y/N] wasn’t budging or waking up. This made Dean turn to the right, seeing his brother in a similar scenario. “Sammy. Sam.. Sam!” He spoke, same thing as seconds before—using an assertive tone but not raising his voice too much. Unfortunately Sam wasn’t budging either, still out cold. Sighing now, it was time for Dean to formulate a plan to get them awake and then to get all three of them the hell out of here.
Yesterday.
They’d been driving for seventeen hours now, all three of them swapping out and taking turns to drive so they could sleep or just rest in general. Right now Sam was driving and instead of taking the passenger seat once he’d passed his brother the driving responsibility, he slipped into the back with [Y/N] even though she was napping. They’d stopped at a gas station and Dean ran inside to grab some snacks and a couple drinks—coming back out and seeing his girlfriend asleep in the backseat. “I’m glad she’s finally getting some sleep.” Sam spoke, finishing up with pumping the gas. “Yeah. Me too. Sad it took this damn long but at least she’ll be rested when we get there.” Dean replied, only glancing towards his brother for a second or two before looking at her again. It was clear that he was worried, Sam was too, after the conversations they had with [Y/N] at the motel in New Orleans. She took two separate shifts driving already and hadn’t slept until she finally knocked out a few hours prior. Dean circled around the Impala and gently opened the back door. Luckily [Y/N] hadn’t moved too much, she still had her legs tucked in towards her butt and so it left enough room for him to sit and be comfortable. Leaning forward the eldest Winchester placed the plastic bag with the snacks and drinks on the floor by his feet. Sam got into the driver’s seat and accidentally closed the door a little too hard, which was met with a glare from his older brother. “A-Are we there yet?” She asked, eyelids slowly opening as she noticed the car had stopped. “No, sweetheart. Almost.” Dean answered, rubbing her calf gently. “Dean? When did you get back here?” [Y/N] asked before tilting her head up to see her boyfriend sitting by her feet. He’d smiled at her while continuing to rub her leg. “I came back when I switched out with Sam. I wanted you to keep napping and you did until right now, since someone’s got a heavy hand.” He replied, again glaring at Sam who looked apologetic. “Dude I’m sorry I didn’t realize I had that momentum.” She smiled as the younger Winchester spoke up. “It’s okay, I probably should be up anyways.” [Y/N] sat up briefly and gave her body a little bit of a stretch. “Nuh-uh-uh. Nope. You’re gonna go back to sleep.” Dean insisted. “I’ve been asleep for hou-“ she began to say but Dean cut her off. “Three hours. You’ve been asleep for three hours and we’ve been driving for seventeen.” She sighed, not realizing they’d been on the road that long.
“Are you sure? I don’t want you to feel..” She started but then was met with a glare, albeit playful, from her boyfriend. “Alright, alright.” [Y/N] chuckled not wanting to push it. Sam had put the key into the ignition and Baby’s engine purred to life. As the car began to move, she’d look over towards Dean. “Do you mind if I lay my head on your lap?” She asked, keeping her tone lower mostly because she was just tired. “Of course you can, baby.” He replied with a smile. [Y/N] leaned into him and pressed a soft kiss to his lips which he happily returned. “Get some more sleep okay? We’ll have to hit the ground running when we get there.” She simply nodded, pushing herself down a little so that she could lay down again. Positioning her head onto his thigh, [Y/N] would soon fall back asleep.
Four hours later.
Sam had pulled the impala into the motel parking lot. Dean had actually called ahead and booked their room so that they could start working immediately. After putting Baby into park and turning the engine off, Sam would exit the vehicle. Softly Dean would shake [Y/N] to let her know it was time to get up. “We’re here babe.” He spoke, keeping his tone low so he wouldn’t scare her and make her jump. Slowly she lifted her head up and yawned. “Okay, thanks D’. Just give me a minute.” She replied before sitting up and stretching in the backseat. Slowly both the older brother and [Y/N] exited the impala. It was at this moment Sam came back from the main office with the room key. “Alright I got the key so let’s get in and get sorted.” Now the younger brother would insert the key into the lock and twist, granting them access to their room. Dean had told his girlfriend to just go inside, he’d grab the books and the bags. [Y/N] walked in and looked around the room briefly. “So, Dean and I figured we’d do a little work ahead of time. We called the coroner’s office and told them we were FBI, inquiring about the murders and setting up an appointment to see them.” Sam spoke, throwing his stuff on the right-side bed. “So, sounds like vamps?” [Y/N] asked, nervously fidgeting with the sleeves of her hoodie. Sam offered a sympathetic smile. “Yeah.. as far as everything they said. Of course we’ll know for sure when we go see them.” She nodded, this information was promising but it didn’t settle her nerves much. Dean would walk into the room and throw his bag and [Y/N]’s onto the left-side bed. “So, our appointment to go see the bodies is within the hour. I think we just gotta suit up and move out.” Dean spoke, both Sam and [Y/N] nodded. “Alright, I’ll go change first.” She spoke before headed into the bathroom with the bag she’d packed her clothes in—the two brothers pulling out the suits they’d brought to make the process quicker. Soon enough all three were dressed in their FBI best, Sam and Dean in classic black suits and ties while [Y/N] was dressed in a black pencil skirt, white blouse and a black blazer. Packing up their badges and bringing the essentials on them, they headed out.
“Hi, I’m Agent Hetfield.” Dean began. “These are partners Agent Ulrich and Agent Tomasi.” First to wave was Sam, [Y/N] offering a nod. “We’re here to check out the murder victims from a couple days ago.” All of this information was taken in by the receptionist before she’d press a few buttons on phone and informed the coroner that the FBI had arrived. Within a moment or so, a man dressed in scrubs came out and greeted the trio. “Hi, I’m Doctor Cortez.” He greeted, shaking everyone’s hands. “Right this way.” He’d then begin leading them towards the morgue. It was a short walk and they pushed through the doorway and into the room. Dr. Cortez opened two of the drawers to reveal both murder victims. “This is Alicia Monroe, 24, found in the middle of a ranch field. This is her boyfriend Charles Feldman, 26, also found in that same field.” [Y/N] was the first to speak after that. “So, my partners here were the ones discussing some things over the phone. What did you determine was cause of death?” This made the doctor sigh. “Honestly it’s been pretty difficult to pinpoint what was the exact cause.” He replied. Sam raised his eyebrow at this, confused. “What do you mean by that?” Dr. Cortez looked towards the younger Winchester and looked rather defeated. “There’s a couple of things that could have caused death, but one doesn’t stick out more than the other.” Dean sighed. That wasn’t a good sign. He pulled his card from his pocket and handed it over to the doctor. “If you can determine cause of death, or have any additional information just call that number.” Dean spoke, a nod coming from the doctor. “We’ll leave you get back to work, thanks Doc’. We appreciate your time.” [Y/N] said before the trio exited the morgue and began walking back towards the front of the building.
“There’s definitely something.. wrong here. Have you ever seen a vampire kill that wasn’t easily called as exsanguination or a broken neck?” She asked, looking towards the brothers once they’d exited the entire building. “Not that I can think of, no.” Dean answered. “Yeah I’m not recalling any.” Sam added. This was causing [Y/N] to feel increasingly nervous again, looking down and toying with the buttons on her blazer. “Hey, breathe okay? We’ll figure it out. We always do.” Dean tried to assure her, but she knew that something was very wrong. “We’ve got the strongest team between us, we always find out what’s going on one way or another.” Sam reassured, but their words unfortunately weren’t going what they’d hoped. “I got their names so, we can talk to their families and see if something weird had been going on.” She said, finally gazing up—her eyes flicking from one Winchester to the other. “Yeah, that’s a good idea. I’ll look it up while you guys grab coffee.” Sam replied, getting into the backseat once they’d all reached the impala. Dean pulled the keys from his pocket and got into the driver’s side as [Y/N] got into the passenger seat. No one else had said much in the drive which Sam would be directing once he located the addresses of the victims families. [Y/N] was zoned out, lost in her brain and wondering why this case had seemed so weird. Once they made it about ten minutes up the road they found a place for coffee, Sam bringing in his laptop and setting it up on the table. [Y/N] sat with Sam while Dean waited in line to order their drinks. It was silent between them, just the little bit of hustle and bustle of a local cafe. “What if..” she began, debating on whether or not she’s gonna vocalize her theory. “Yeah?” Sam asked, flicking his gaze up to look at her face. “Those holes in their necks.. they were weird. They didn’t look like they were really made by a vampire. If they were, it was.. I don’t know. Weirdly not used? They didn’t look like the normal holes vamps leave behind.” [Y/N] sighed, knowing it probably sounded crazy. “Say that’s true, what the hell could’ve caused them?” He asked, clicking some keys on his laptop. “That’s something I can’t put my finger on, but Sam something is incredibly off..” she sighed as Dean had approached the table and placed his brother and his girlfriend’s drinks in front of their respective person. “What’re you guys talking about?” He asked, bringing his own drink up to his lips and taking a sip.
“[Y/N] got a good look at the holes on the victims necks, said they don’t look like regular holes from vamps.” Sam answered, using one hand to move the cursor around his laptop and using his free hand to grab the coffee cup. Quickly bringing it up to his lips and taking a drink. Dean looked puzzled, gazing over to his girlfriend. “What’s that mean?” He’d ask, eyes watching her closely. “I don’t know how to explain it other than.. they weren’t used? Like, it looks as though they were made to throw us off but it doesn’t look like blood was sucked out.” She answered. Truth was, she still wasn’t sure what the hell that meant. Eyes flicking between the table and her boyfriend’s green eyes. “So what, something or someone wants us to think it’s vamps and not something else?” Dean asked, focusing his gaze between his younger brother and his girlfriend. “That’s my best guess, like I said.. something just isn’t right here.” [Y/N] sighed before grabbing her coffee and finally taking a drink, finding momentary comfort in its warmth. “Alright well, I found the addresses for the victims and their families. What if you guys go investigate their apartment? I’ll go talk to the families and see if they know anything that could help.” Sam spoke, writing things down on a piece of paper he’d brought along. “Alright, yeah, you drop us off there and then drive since you’ve got two destinations and we’ve just got the one.” Dean answered, knowing she wouldn’t mind—especially considering it meant she didn’t have to act entirely okay in front of strangers. [Y/N] continued to sip on her coffee, sighing quietly. She wished that she didn’t feel so apprehensive about this case but her gut was telling her something was wrong. Dean kept his eyes on her now, silently watching as she struggled and wishing so desperately that he could ease her worry and her pain.
Coffees were finished and soon enough the trio was piling back into the impala. Sam in the driver’s seat with [Y/N] and Dean in the backseat. He’d taken her hand into his and interlaced their fingers together, gently rubbing the pad of his thumb along the bottom part of her hand. Slowly stroking from the base of her thumb to about her wrist and back again. It was roughly a fifteen minute drive to where the couple had been living, Sam briefly put Baby in park. “Alright, anything goes wrong or you learn anything text or call.” Sam tells them, earning a playfully annoyed look from both his brother and [Y/N]. “Thanks dad.” She said, chuckling softly which prompted Dean to chuckle. “You too, though.” He spoke with his eyes on his little brother. “Will do.” Sam smiled after saying, the back door opening and Dean slipping out first. [Y/N] smiled at the younger of the brothers and placed her hand on his shoulder for a moment. “Be safe.” She said, he nodded. “You guys too.” He replied and in similar fashion she nodded. [Y/N] slid out of the backseat and flattened her skirt to assure it wasn’t caught on anything. Once Dean closed the door again, Sam slowly took off down the street. Luckily the place that the couple was renting wasn’t difficult to get into—[Y/N] slicing through the police tape with her knife. Dean pushed the door open gently and the two of them made their way inside. Upon their entry the smell had both of them look towards one another with a widened gaze. “Do you smell that?” He asked, immediately prompting her to nod. “Yup—that’s never a good sign.” She sighed. “It’s just a hint, maybe it’s coincidence?” He sighed. “It’s never just coincidence for us.” She spoke up, both clearly more tense and on higher alert. Dean and [Y/N] both drawing their guns just in case. Slowly they moved as a unit, clearing every room but the worry in their guts was only reaffirmed as they moved deeper into the house. There was only one room left after a few minutes, which was the couple’s bedroom. “I’ve got you covered.” [Y/N] said, gun aimed forward just over Dean’s shoulder. He nodded, keeping his own gun aimed forward while he reached forward using his free hand and quickly turned the doorknob. Pushing the door open, they both slowly entered.
They looked in opposite directions once inside, assuring there would be no sneak attacks. Eyeing the shelf in front of her, she ran her finger across the substance that had been left behind. Briefly smelling it made her heart sink. “D, look—we were right.” She spoke up, leading to him turning to face her and seeing the residue. “Sulfur.” They said together in unison which confirmed their suspicions upon entering the house. “Why the hell were demons here?” Dean asked, pulling his hand over his face as everything had just become more difficult and more dangerous. “I don’t know, but if demons are involved..” she began, sighing again. “..that means Lucifer is involved.” Both of their expressions had hardened with irritation mixed with confusion. “I guess that’s why you felt so strongly about this being something more than what it presented as..” Dean was frustrated. It was evident and he was trying to keep composure for [Y/N]’s sake. She hated being right in times like this, but, there was no denying it anymore. “I just don’t understand the game plan here, like what does he even want from us?” She asked, eyes scanning around the area for any other potential clues or signs. “I wish I knew, sweetheart. Your guess is as good as mine.” Dean didn’t like this, not even a little bit. Slowly pulling his cellphone from his pocket he began to type a text to Sam.
📲 Dean: {Hey Sammy, we’ve got a problem. You get to the first family’s house yet?}
📲 Sam: {Yeah, man. Just got here. What’s the problem?}
📲 Dean: {We’re at the house and the minute we walked in the door something smelt off. We get to the couple’s bedroom and [Y/N] and I found sulfur residue.}
📲 Sam: {What.. why the hell are demons involved?}
📲 Dean: {No clue. We’re looking into things here just wanted to give you a heads up.}
[Y/N] had been looking around while Dean texted his little brother. Trying to make sense of what was happening. She walked towards the nightstand and looked at a picture that was standing in its frame. “They seemed decently happy, at least in pictures.” Her voice broke Dean from his daze and he looked towards her now. “Maybe they reached out to the demons? Make a deal?” He offered an explanation but, it didn’t seem to fit. “I mean, maybe but that seems unlikely. I haven’t seen anything in here that screams ‘devil made me successful’. Besides if they made a deal, why not just wait to collect. They weren’t old enough to have made that deal ten years ago—they’d have been teenagers.” [Y/N] replied, wedging the nightstand drawer open and grabbing a stack of envelopes. Flicking through them to see if anything stood out. “Anything?” Dean asked, beginning to look around the other side of the room. “Just seems like bills for the most part, nothing crazy.” She sighed, throwing them back into the drawer. Finding nothing more really, [Y/N] began walking towards where her boyfriend stood. However she was stopped in her tracks—Dean hearing a loud thud from behind him, slowly he goes to turn around but feels two fingers press against his forehead and everything goes black.
Present time.
Dean had been trying to wrack his brain, trying to formulate some sort of escape route. However it was difficult for just him, he had no sense of time—no idea how long it had been since he tried to wake his brother and his girlfriend up. Suddenly a bit of noise began to break the heavy silence. Dean’s eyes immediately moved to Sam who was moving around, figuring out rather quickly that he was tied to a chair. “Sammy, hey, you’re awake.” His younger brother slowly turned his head in the direction he’d heard Dean’s voice from. “Dean..? Where the hell are we?” He asked, blinking repeatedly to clear his eyes. “I don’t know, some abandoned building. I’ve been trying to figure it out but I can’t get free.” Dean would sigh, his eyes moving to where his girlfriend was restrained. She still hadn’t moved. “Where’s [Y/N]?” Sam asked, almost like he sensed his older brother’s actions. “Right here, other side of me. She’s still out.” His eyes didn’t move from his girlfriend even when he’d spoken. It’s like he was trying to will her into waking up, just so he could know that she was okay. “Man, the last thing I remember was leaving the male victim’s family’s house—then nothing.” Sam spoke, not too loud, who really knew who was out there listening to them. “I heard a thud behind me in the couple’s room, I’m assuming it was [Y/N] hitting the floor. I went to turn around and then boom, nothing.” Dean too trying to recollect anything that would give a hint to where they were or who’s behind holding them captive here.
“Have you seen anything moving while you’ve been awake?” Sam asked, glancing around trying to see if there was any evidence that someone or something was nearby. Dean shook his head. “No, it’s been pretty silent. I’ve been trying to figure out how the hell we get outta this..” Sighing the older brother turned his gaze towards [Y/N] with concern and love glimmering in those green eyes. “C’mon [Y/N/N].. you’ve gotta wake up babe.” He whispered, seemingly at the perfect time or maybe she’d heard him. “W-where am I..? Dean? Sam?” She asked, keeping the volume down—her voice was raspy from not being fully awake yet. “Hey, hey, I’m here. Sam’s here too. We’re.. well we don’t know where the hell we are.” Dean confessed, [Y/N] doing what they’d each done, blinking the blurriness from their eyes. Once she had, she met Dean’s gaze with her [Y/E/C] eyes and it made him feel incredibly safe. He was still worried about how they were gonna get out of here, but knowing she was okay gave him so much relief. “I don’t remember anything after a certain point in that couple’s bedroom..” she admitted, looking over to see Sam as well. “Who the hell got the jump on us?” She asked, to which the brothers could only shrug slightly. “We have no idea, honestly.” Sam spoke up. “Wait..” Dean spoke out loud, realizing after a fair share of movement that his arms weren’t in as tight of a grip as they had been. “..I can get out of this just gimmie a second.” He spoke before wriggling around against the wooden chair, after another few moments the rope slid off of his arms and onto the floor. Both Sam and [Y/N] looked relieved as Dean grabbed his knife, cutting his legs free. Immediately running to his girlfriend and cutting her free, followed up by his little brother. Sam stood up to stretch his limbs and [Y/N] had too, but she was almost immediately engulfed by Dean and a tight hug. “Hi, I’m here. I’m right here.” She replied, knowing he’d been worried about her and having to see her like that with no means to help. “I know I’m just glad you’re awake.” He said with his lips pressing against her head, kisses being placed periodically.
Suddenly a voice broke the tender moment. “Awww, how touching is this?” it said. Dean, [Y/N] and Sam all turned to see where the voice had come from. Sure enough, all their previous suspicions were proved correct. “Lucifer.” All three said in unison, scowls on their faces. “C’mon, why the long faces! I think I look good today.” He laughed, which had the hunters all rolling their eyes. Lucifer finally took a step outside of the shadows and came into view. His face wore a smirk that spread from ear to ear, reminiscent of the Cheshire Cat. Seconds passed and he let his gaze linger on all three of the hunters that stood before him, an uneasy feeling now lingering in the air. Sam was the first to speak up, irritation coating his tone. “What do you want, Lucifer?” He asked, glaring towards the devil himself. “Oh let me bask in the glory of what’s about to happen before I deliver the blow Sammy! You just have to ruin all the fun.” Lucifer replied with an ever wicked grin still painted upon his lips. “Cut the shit, Lucifer. We’re not here to live in your monologue.” [Y/N] spoke, still holding onto Dean while her gaze was shooting daggers toward the fallen angel. However instead of gaining the usual level of irritation they’d get in talking back to him, Lucifer continued to grin. This set off alarms in all three of the hunters as they exchanged looks of concern. “What? Expecting some other reaction are we?” He asked, his gaze now falling solely upon Dean.
“What’s your angle then huh? Get to it already so we can get the hell out of here.” Dean spoke, returning the devil’s gaze and not backing down an inch. Silence again overtook the room, Lucifer’s eyes unmoved from Dean’s. Sam and [Y/N] turned their heads to look at one another. Something was happening, something was shifting and it wasn’t good—especially if it had Lucifer this happy. “Fine.” It was a simple statement from the fallen angel, but it wasn’t followed by further information. Not at first. “I’m here to inform you, Dean Winchester, that you’ve got an incredible choice on your hands. One that will alter everything you stand for and everything you believe in—a choice that will tear you apart inside until you’re asking to be Michael’s meat suit.” [Y/N]’s stomach dropped hearing this, because that meant it was something bigger than even her intuition could’ve imagined. “Yeah? What’s this ‘important choice’ then huh?” Dean asked, Sam watching from the other side. He had just as bad a feeling about this as [Y/N] did—neither had any chance to speak up though, Lucifer answering immediately. “It’s simple really. You, oh you’ve got the choice of who gets a one way ticket to pain and suffering. Dean Winchester, it’s your decision who gets sent to hell here today. Little Sammy-boy..” he paused, gesturing towards the younger of the Winchester brothers. “or..” Dean’s heart was racing, knowing exactly what was coming but dreading having to hear it said aloud. “..your beautiful, so very beautiful, girlfriend [Y/N].”

Better off Alone Pt .1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: mention of blood, emotions, pregnancy symptoms and I think that's pretty much it i guess but trigger warning maybe.
This is a work of fiction nothing mentioned in below is real and don't hate any character listed below. Also you may find some errors I did not edit it at all and English is my 2nd language so bear with me thank you.
Summery: you moved in with Chan leaving your parents ,friends and family to a new country.
It's been 1 month since you gave birth to you and Chan's baby Elora. It's been hard with him working on his new album and just you taking care of the baby. His mom promised you to come and help you out with the baby but things haven't been going well with her as well she can't just leave her job and move in for a couple of months and help you out same goes for your mother.
So it's just been you trying to figure this whole baby thing out walking in and out of rooms, cooking, working from home and cleaning.
Sometimes Chan doesn't even come home for a weeks cause his work is more important for him but this time he didn't visit you for a whole 6 months. He wasn't there half of your of your pregnancy you had to do it all of it on your own there wasn't any kind of special treatment nor any type of treatment. You had bad morning sickness, you had fatigue , you didn't sleep well, you bought all your pregnancy cravings, your feet would be swollen it would be hard for you to walk for days, you would take walks alone, go to your ultrasound appointment alone, you bought all the baby clothes, you decorate the nursery room alone and every thing else.
He came once while you were 6 months pregnant he talked to you a bit and said he would take a nap but he slept the whole day and woke up late the next day then he received a call right after he was about to take you to your ultrasound appointment but his job was more important than this baby and you so he left.
He then promised whatever happens he will be in labor with you. He promised him will be through out your pregnancy with you but he wasn't. As always Chan breaks his promises he never came that day.
It was a Friday you went to the kitchen to grab an apple that's when it happened your water broke you were terrified didn't know what to do or who to call. You picked up your phone and called Chan multiple times but it keeps taking you to his voice mail but you called again but the same thing happens.
Finally you called a taxi and grabbed your labor bag your self and walked down your apartment stairs slowly your sundress all wet and your shoes slippery you were in pain but you walked downstairs slowly and got in a taxi.
The taxi driver was kind enough to comfort you through out the ride as he noticed you were in labor. He helped you reach the hospital and left.
You were scared no one was with you. You look around and saw every one had someone with them but you was alone bearing this pain.
"Where is your guardian?" a nurse asked you.
"Am alone," the words were bitter.
The nurse looked at you and gave you a form to fill up. You did trying to stand on your feet your legs shaking. You were having bad contractions. you were sweating this whole thing was unbearable. You were unable to understand what you were writing on the form. Tears starting falling down your cheeks you let out little sobs unable to control yourself.
"Are you okay?" You just nod tears streaming down your cheeks wetting the paper.
After what felt like years of pain you were finally sent to the delivery room to have your baby.
"How long was she in for?" asked the gynecologist
"She was here since yesterday noon," one of the nurses answered
"Okay let's see," says the gynecologist and placed her hand underneath you. "Baby is on the way ready mom?"
"No," you answered between breathes.
"It's okay. You got this your baby will be with you any moment just push for me,"
You pushed and pushed and pushed then you heard it.
"It's a girl," said the gynecologist handing you your baby.
You looked down and saw the most tiniest creature covered in your blood crying and shaking.
"Shh mommy's here," You said patting her gently but she kept crying then nurses took her away.
"What's her name,"
"Elora," You answered.
"We just need to check how she is and we will bring her back to you. You can rest in your room," the nurse said and then she was gone.
You were in pain the lower part of your body was numb. You weren't able to rest you just wanted your baby next to you.
You called your mom and mother in law to tell them the good news they both said they will buy a plane ticket and see you soon.
You weren't able to go to the washroom and you were leaking blood everywhere messing the bed sheets and your hospital Gawn as well. You know it's okay to call one of the nurses and ask for help but you were ashamed and felt like a burden you came here alone and half of the nurses where with you since yesterday noon since you were having contractions for a long time. Yes it is there job but you started to feel like your making their job even worse by being the dependent person.
You shared a room with some other mom whom gave birth yesterday she was surrounded with people her husband was there, her mother ,her friends and family. People came congratulated her ,bought her gifts and help her with the baby. She was beautiful. you bet you look awful you haven't washed up at all ,you have been breastfeeding .you was hungry the nurses gave you food but you wasn't satisfied ,your breast was leaking. you didn't get to change and you probably smelt bad.
You envy the lady next to you she was happy ,she was loved and surrounded by the people she loved.
you was alone.
After putting Elora in her crib you slowly took the bed sheet that you messed and walked out looking for someone whom you can give it too.
"Y/n why did you lea- your leaked through," said the nurse that had been taking care of you.
"Am sorry," you said handing her the bed sheets.
"Let me help you," she said and took you back to your room help you shower ,she washed you hair , dried it and braided your hair and help you get changed into fresh clothes while your baby was in care by another nurse. Even though she was doing her job you were thankful.
When you returned you took your baby from the nurse whom was taking care of her while you getting cleaned up. You hugged your baby your heart feeling heavier and heavier. You were hungry, tired and wanted to sleep, you were In pain cause of your stitches, you were having horrible back pains, things just kept pilling up and you were suppose to leave the hospital tonight and you have no idea how you were gonna handle things.
1 month later.
You grabbed the baby bottle and checked the temperature on you wrist knowing it's the right temperature you gave the baby bottle to Elora she quickly started sucking on her bottle you left her in her crib and went to the kitchen to do the dishes after that you washed her baby bottles and you go to check her and she was asleep. You placed the camera on and took the tab with you. You checked on her while you started taking a shower, you did your hair and she was still asleep. So you did the laundry and cooked dinner and sat in her room looking at her peacefully sleeping.
I think she understands that things are hard for you .She stays silent and sleeps most of the time or maybe that's how babies her age are.
It's been 6 months now since Chan had come home he didn't call nor did you. You saw on the internet that he and his members had gone to the states to do a sound track for a marvel movie. He and his members were busy attending award shows, promoting their new album, attending dinner parties and celebrating since the marvel sound track got more attention and was #1 on billboard. They were performing and announced concert in the states. There was a lot going on in the past 6 months he didn't even bother to call nor text you to tell that he was leaving.
"I think it's just me and you Eli your father doesn't care about us anymore," You said holding her in your arms.
"Am not going to cry am not going to cry am not going to cry," You kept whispering to yourself tears falling from your eyes.
You suffered alone so much that thinking about those days makes you tear up. You were limping around the house ,starving, Elora crying ,you were sleepless and barefoot limping around the house, cramping ,you vaginal blood messing the floor and bed sheets blood running down your leg and being sticky you didn't have time to take a shower.
But it was all for the best all of it is gone now you tell yourself looking at your beautiful daughter.
"Fuck, you have beautiful lashes Eli," You complemented your baby drying your tears.
She is the reason that you kept going .she made you strong. she changed you. You were weak when you left the hospital with her in your arms. You were weak when you came home and it was cold and dark but she made you strong. She gave you strength. She gave you hope. She made you believe if you are here for her nothing is impossible. \ cringe bear with me lol\.
"Thank you for believing in mommy," You said.
You walked out with her in your arms to the living room and grabbed the remote and turned on some soft lullaby walking in the kitchen with her in your arm and warming up your breast milk in your other arm. Everything was going well you were still learning but you were handling it well. You had to carry her during your zoom calls since you was working from home and your colleagues were very helpful. Your boss even asked to give you a maternity break but you weren't able to work during your pregnancy days so you declined the offer and started working from home. They gave you not tiering tasks to do since you were taking care of the baby and had to do the house work.
Click.
The front door knob was being wiggled as if someone was trying to unlock it from the other side more like break it. They kept wiggling the knob trying to unlocked the door and now they were banging on the door. You jump scared and you quicky put Elora on the other crib at the living room picking you the closest weapon you found.
Baby wipes.
You picked up the pack ready to attack. The door was banging hard you looked through your peep hole.
A tall figured dressed in black. Black hat covering half of his face his head hanging low.
'Do I ignore him maybe if I don't answer the door he will leave'
bang bang bang.
He was getting impatient as his knocks got louder you hear Elora cry and you placed the wipes running to her.
"Y/n It's me open up,"
To be continued...

Ahh so I’ve had brain cancer since Feb of 2019 (it’s come back 3 times and i just came home from the hospital yesterday so this is why I’m asking) but Quill has been a huge comfort character to me through this. I’ve always seen him as my older brother and imagining him being there for me (especially since his mom had what I have, probably hits him hard) had played a HUGE part in getting me through this. If it’s okay to ask, how do you think he would react fo his sister figure going through this- like how would be support her? (I know it’s weird to find so much comfort in a fictional character but he’s really helped me through this emotionally tbh)
Hun, it is 100% alright for you to have found comfort in him. I hope things get better or continue to stay good for you and I hope this brings you comfort <3
Peter Quill x Sister!Reader
Through Thick and Thin
Word Count: 613
Warnings: talks of cancer, mentions of Quills mom (illusions to parental death), little angst, big fluff,
Summary: you and Quill have a heart-to-heart
Tumblr media
"Easy now, there ya go," Quill gently took your arm, helping you down the steps of the hospital.
"I know," You force a laugh, exhaustion creeping through your joints, you just want to get back to the Milano and take a nap.
Quill doesn't let go of your arm as your reach the pathway, gently pulling you along to the parking local where the ship was.
He put himself in between any and all people that could possibly bump into you, insuring you were fully covered and protected from anything. He had been doing this more and more recently since your sickness started to come back.
"Pete, I'll be okay if you let go of my arm," You side eye him ad he nudges a garbage can out of the way.
"I know," He scoffs but doesn't let go.
You don't press and allow him to take you back to the ship, holding your hands as he helps you up the landing ramp.
He kicks open your bedroom door and sits you down on your bed.
You tried not to be annoyed, he was just trying to help, but in the last few weeks he'd glued himself to your side. He never let you do anything alone and never gave you any room to breath.
"Alright, do you need anything? Water? Food? Maybe a change of clothes?" He snaps his fingers at his last question, going over to your dresser and pulling out some clothes.
"Pete, I'm fine really, I can do it," You stand up, putting your hand on his arm to stop him.
"Yeah, I know," He sighs. "But you don't have to,"
"What's this really about, Pete?" You cross your arms, taking a step back from him, watching him shrug and look down at your dresser.
"Nothin' I'm....I'm just watching out for you, I don't want you to be alone-"
"I'm never alone!" You snap. "You haven't left my side in weeks and even if you did, I have the others to keep me company, I'm not alone," You sigh, dropping your arms and glancing down at the floor. "I didn't mean to snap like that, I can just tell there's something else bothering you,"
He sighs, setting the shirt he grabbed on top of your dresser, closing the drawer and turning to face you.
"The....the thing you have now.....it's what.....it's what my mom had," His eyes glass over, voice cracking, face flushing. "And I wasn't there for her, and I won't let it happen with you," A few stray tears spill down his cheeks. "I can't loose you too, you're....you're like a little sister to me,"
You move before he finished, wrapping your arms around him and squeezing him. Your fingers clawed at his leather jacket, trying to pull him closer, your own tears threatening to spill over.
Gently, he wrapped his arms around you, resting the side of his face against yours, chest shaking with sobs.
"What happened to your mom....it's not gonna happen again, I promise," You whisper, swallowing the lump in your throat.
"I know it won't, I won't make the same mistakes again," His voice croaked, you could tell he was holding back tears of his own.
"Pete, you didn't make any mistakes-"
"I wasn't there when she needed me," You felt the tears fall from his face and roll onto your cheek. "That's not gonna happen with you, I'll be here every step of the way,"
"You promise?" Your own tears spill past, blurring your vision, you close your eyes and tuck your head into his neck.
"I promise, we're family, we stick together through thick and thin,"

A Little Mix Up -- Chapter Three
Characters: Spencer x reader
Word Count: about 2500
Author’s Note: someone recommended I write from Spencer’s POV, soooo here is chapter three!!! Y/n talks in a regressed state. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Please be nice
Warnings: Regressed state, Professor!Reid, ddlg dynamic, broken glass, mentions of wounds, little!y/n
Tumblr media
Spencer’s POV
I drove as fast as I could, safely. I hated the idea of y/n being alone, especially in the dark. When I finally made it to the chemistry building, I took in a sight that was absolutely heart shattering. All I saw was a scared, crying, lonely y/n sitting on the steps clutching my sweatshirt trying to stay warm. I should have never let her go home in the first place. I could have prevented this. I rushed over to her side and offered her a hand. She looked up at me with tears streaking down her face in shock.
“You came?”
“Of course I did, y/n. Please get in the car.”
She only nodded and took my hand as I grabbed her backpack. I helped her into the car and buckled her in after putting her bag in the backseat. She was exhausted and absolutely drained. I paused to take in her state, even in her tears and exhaustion she was the most beautiful person I have ever seen. I just want to hold her and save her from everything, including herself.
“Do you want to take a nap on the drive home? Have you eaten yet?”
All I got in return was mumbles, not one coherent word.
“Y/n, have you eaten dinner yet?”
She shook her head and her lips quivered as she began to cry again. My heart broke over and over as she cried. I wiped her tears and leaned into the car to hug her. I can tell she is regressing, likely to all the stress. She just needs someone to care about her.
“Alright, you just go to sleep and I’ll take care of you, okay?”
I opened the back door and pulled out a blanket, rounding my way back to the passenger seat. I gently wrapped her in the blanket and wiped her tears one more time.Y/n began to mumble before I could understand what she was saying.
“Spen- Spen- Can me have a, me have a kiss?”
I was shocked by the question and observed y/n in her vulnerable state. Here I have the cutest regressed y/n with her tear stained cheeks and runny nose asking me for a kiss. I leaned in, leaving her with a soft kiss on the forehead. She smiled and got comfortable in her seat.
I gently closed her door and made my way to the driver’s seat. On the drive home my thoughts are racing. Between yesterday and today, so many things have happened. Yesterday all I planned on doing was asking her to turn in her paper instead of the little’s coloring book she turned in by accident. Sure, I am a daddy who happens to want a little to take care of, but it would have been inappropriate to ask her that. I was only going to drive her home since it was raining, the nice thing to do. Then she regressed and cried about going home and I simply couldn’t abandon her. I took her home this morning, no, this afternoon. Not even hours later she’s back in my passenger seat sleeping, just like yesterday.
I pull into my driveway and admire my sleeping beauty before getting out and going to her side. I carry her bridal style and somehow manage to unlock my door. I gently lay her on my bed and cover her up. She needs to rest while I figure out what to do. It is only five, so I’ll let her sleep while I make dinner and some calls.
I pulled out my laptop to see what classes she has tomorrow, she needs a day to rest. She has Dr. Walker, Dr. Langston, and then of course my class. Walker will be easy, we work together and that’ll be a quick phone call. Thankfully, Langston is my closest friend. Both of which already know about y/n being here because I had called them both for advice yesterday night.
**On the phone with Walker**
Walker: Hello.
Spencer: Hey, it’s me. Y/n is back tonight and I don’t think she’ll be in your class tomorrow. Can you count it as excused?
Walker: Of course. Is she okay?
Spencer: Physically, yes. Emotionally, I don’t think so.
Walker: Just take care of her, Spence. I can send you this weeks assignments. We meet tomorrow and Friday, but she can be excused for both. I just ask that she’s back in class on Monday.
Spencer: Thank you so much. I can keep you posted. Have a goodnight!
** end of call**
I need to call Langston. He has a little, they’ve been together for about a year and they are happier than ever. I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing. I mean, I couldn’t just leave her out there alone, right?
**On the phone with Langston**
Langston: Hey did you get her picked up?
Spencer: Yeah, she’s asleep at the moment. I did the right thing, right?
L: Spencer, you couldn’t just leave her out there like that. She needs someone to care for her. She’s in my class and I can tell you she isn’t holding it together all that well..
S: Oh, speaking of which, are you okay with her staying home from class tomorrow and Friday? I don’t think she needs to be there.
L: Whatever she needs, I can keep you in the loop with assignments.
S: Thanks…
L: Just call me if you need anything. I take care of my little girl everyday and I would be happy to help you.
S: I appreciate it.
**end of call**
I can’t cancel class again this week, but she can stay home. I want her to rest this week and then we can get her on a better schedule. I’m going to call housing tomorrow and get her moved to another room, I think that will help her out.
*an hour-ish later*
I made my way to the bedroom and couldn’t help but smile when I saw y/n in my bed. She looked so peaceful and I honestly didn’t want to wake her up. Nonetheless, I approached the side of the bed and brushed the hair out of her face as I lightly shook her.
“Y/n, it’s time to eat dinner.”
She stirred slightly and rolled over to move further away from me. I sat in the bed and lightly shook her again. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked my way with sleep still in her eyes.
“Dinner is ready.”
“Is it gross?”
“Well, y/n, I sure hope it’s not, but you have to try it to know.”
“Me not hungry.” She’s still in her regressed state, adorable. I predicted she would be, if not, everyone loves dino nuggets, right?
“Not even for dino nuggets and mac and cheese?”
Y/n eyes light up at my comment and she scooted closer to the edge of the bed as I stood up.
“Can we hold hands?”
She spoke so soft and sweet, I couldn’t tell her no even if I wanted to. I opened my hand to her and she grabbed on tightly, following me to the kitchen.
“What would you like to drink?”
“Me want chocolate milk.”
“Hm, only good girls who use their manners get chocolate milk.” Her eyes met mine and she shifted under my gaze. Her eyes fell to the floor before she spoke while playing with the sleeves of my hoodie that was a tad too big for her.
“Me please have chocolate milk?”
“Of course. Thank you for using your manners, such a good girl.”
She squirmed at the pet name and I chuckled while fetching the milk from the fridge.
“Do you want to pick your cup?”
She smiled and ran across the kitchen, very unsafe.
“Excuse me, little one. I’m not sure if you know the rules, but in my house we do not run.” She looked down at the floor and mumbled a quick ‘sorry’. “You didn’t know the rules about running, but thank you for apologizing. If you want to pick your cup out, you can go back and try again, this time walking.”
She turned to try again, this time walking and slightly sliding her socks across the wood floors. She was genuinely the cutest thing I had ever seen. I smiled on the inside about her immediate obedience and not fighting me on the running in the house rule. She was slightly pouting when she made it back to me, but I have zero intentions on babying her when she has no reason to pout.
“Y/n, you can either quit pouting and pick out a cup or you can continue to pout and drink water with your dinner.”
“Can me has the pretty flower cup?” She stood on her tip toes and pointed to a mug I had gotten from the thrift store.
“That one is glass, will you promise to be careful with it?”
“Me promise!!” She was so excited. I’m nervous about her dropping it. Not because it has any meaning to me, simply because it is glass.
I sat her glass in front of her and went to fix our plates. I failed to tell her she would have broccoli to eat with her dinner tonight… Let’s see how that goes. I sat the plates on the table and she immediately noticed the broccoli on her plate.
“Me not like broccoli.”
I only nodded as she ate all her mac and cheese and nuggets. I only put about six pieces of broccoli on her plate, but she has to eat some of it.
“Can me has more nuggets?”
“After you eat your broccoli.” I knew this would be a fight but I wouldn’t be looking out for her if she didn’t eat any healthy vegetables. I honestly hate having to be strict or enforce things, but I know it’s for her best interest and mine as well. If I don’t develop an authoritative position now, the fights will be worse later on.
“Me not like broccoli, me not want to eat it.”
“How old are you feeling y/n?”
She looked across the table at me as she held up three fingers.
“Three?” She nodded. “Okay, then you have to eat three pieces of broccoli and then we can get you some more nuggets.”
She sighed and rolled her eyes.
“If you want to have an attitude, you can eat all of what is on your plate. Do you want to do that?” She shook her head as she stabbed a piece of broccoli with her fork. “Words, please.”
“Me sorry for rolling me eyes.”
“Thank you for the apology. I don’t appreciate it when you roll your eyes.”
She eventually ate three pieces of broccoli and some more nuggets. I watched as she drank all her chocolate milk. She was all finished as I stood to take my dishes to the kitchen.
“I will be back to get yours. You can go watch some TV while I clean up, if you want.”
I had just sat my dishes on the counter when I heard a clatter followed by her screams. I rushed to the hallway to see her on the floor surrounded by a broken mug and plate. I knew this would happen. I shouldn’t have let her use glass.
“Y/n, I need you to stay calm for me. Can we do that?” She nodded as she wiped her tears. I weaved my way through the glass and picked her up. “Where are you hurt?”
She pointed to her leg where she had a small piece of glass stuck on her leg. Easy fix, but it might be hard with a very stressed y/n. I carried her to the bathroom counter and sat her down. She was crying, almost sobbing. I could tell she was crying over something other than the small injury she obtained.
“Y/n, I know your ouchie hurts, but is something else wrong?”
“You mad at me.” She managed to get out her sentence between her sobs.
“I am not the slightest bit upset. Why would I be mad at you?”
“Because, because me break your dishes and me make a mess and now you have to fix my ouchie.”
“I am not mad about any of these things. Accidents happen, don’t they?”
I wiped her eyes as she nodded. I gave her a soft kiss on her forehead causing her to smile.
“Alrighty, I don’t think my little girl needs to see this ouchie. Can you cover your eyes until I get you all cleaned up?” She nodded and covered her eyes with the sleeves of my hoodie and leaned against the wall.
She began to cry as I extracted the glass and cleaned the wound.
“You’re doing so well! You are such a brave little girl. We are almost done, okay?”
She nodded and sat still as I wrapped her up. It wasn’t a huge wound, but to someone with the headspace of a three year old it could be the end of the world.
“All fixed up. You were such a big girl.” She uncovered her eyes and smiled at the praise. “Now, can you tell me what you were doing with your dishes when I told you I would be back to get them?” I asked softly, not wanting to feed into her idea of me being mad when I am far from there.
“Me just wanted to be helpful. You made dinner so me wanted to do something nice for you.”
“You are such a sweet girl. Do you know that?” She smiled as I softly booped her nose causing her to giggle. This may be my new favorite sound. “Can you watch TV while I clean up the glass and the dinner mess?”
“Me want to watch a movie.” I picked her up off the counter, carrying her on my side as she clung to my shirt.
“Hm, that didn’t sound like manners to me…”
“Can me please watch a movie?”
“Yes you can. What movie does my little princess want to watch?”
Y/n giggled at the idea of being a little princess and hugged me a little closer.
“Can me watch Frozen, please?”
“Mmhmm, I like that movie.”
Her eyes widened at my comment. “YOU WATCH FROZEN??” She shouted in excitement.
“Inside voices, please.” I gave her a stern look to emphasize my point before continuing. “Yes, I have seen the first and second, multiple times.” She squealed in excitement as I sat her on the couch. I covered her up as I started the movie. I began to walk away before she spoke.
“Excuse me, mister.”
“Yes?” I turned around to see a sassy y/n with her arms crossed. I chuckled inside but stayed serious so she would think I was taking her seriously.
“You forgot my forehead kiss.” I chuckled as I made my back to the couch and bent down to kiss her forehead.
“Anything else for the princess?” She shook her head. “I’ll be back after I get everything cleaned up. Be good.”
She squirmed a little at my last comment. She seems to really respond to small praises and warnings. Very much noted.
After I had finally got everything cleaned up, I entered the living room to see y/n dead asleep on the couch. I turned off the TV and carried her to bed. I tucked her in and started to make my way to the living room after giving her a goodnight kiss on the forehead.
“Noooo, me want you to stay with me.”
“Okay, I’ll sleep on the floor.”
“No, me want you to cuddle, pretty pleaseeeeeee.”
“Are you sure, y/n?”
“Pleaseeeeee?”
I made my way to the other side of the bed and got under the covers. She quickly cuddled up to me. This is the closest we have ever been. Her body fits perfectly into mine and I could stay like this forever. She quickly falls asleep and I fall soon after her only after I admire her beauty and wonder how in the world I ended up here.

{Prince bakugo x f.reader}
(Helllo everyone!. Important notes:
Sarada => your name here
shizuka => your younger sis
Andddd that's enough..for now)
.
.
.
Nee san ... what are you doing?" I turned my head toward her and smiled brightly. "I'M GETTING THIS GOLDEN APPLE FOR YOU" i screamed to her as i completed climbing the tree.
A while ago, I just saw my little sis looking at this fresh,yellow apple that was hanging on the tree . Yesterday she was depressed about the rumors about the prince muichiro being engagement to the daughter of the duke so without any doubts i run toward the hug tree and started climbing it.
I was wearing an old white tshirt with brown leather Belt above it that hugs my waist tightly and a long black Trouser that has some holes on it. From were did i got these old clothes? Welll i didn't leave my maid to live a peace life until she got me these clothes ^v^.
"NEE SAN ! IF ANYONE SAW YOU ,YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN A REAL PROBLEM!" I only laughed at my sister Concerned voice.
I caught the apple then quickly jumped to the ground without thinking about how it will hurt .'hmmm i deserve it this time -_-'
"Ouch!"
"NEE SAN! Are you okay?!"shizuka said as she reached to me. "Yeah! hehehe yeah I'm totally fine! Here" i said as i give her the yellow apple. Her blue eyes shined as she take it frommy hand. " nee san ... thank you soo much!" Then she hugged not caring if my clothes is dirty.
We sat under the huge tree enjoying the breeze of summer. Neither of us talked for a while until we saw a Royal Cart entering the gate of our mansion."Isn't that ?"
"The cart of the king" shizuka started the sentence and i ended it . Why did the king came to our mansion??
"Oh shi-"
"The lady shouldn't Uttered these words"
"Hehe sorry" i said to shizuka as i scratch my nap. Something  is wrong here but i don't know what is it? "Nee san ! The loyal family is here ! .You should greet them as the eldest daughter of the family!" Ohhh that what was wrong! I'm covered in dust and mad !.
"Shizuka! Go told them that I'm gonna be late because I'm in one of my friends house!"
"What? How will they believe when our cart is over the-"
"Just do it!"
"Okay okay!"
Shizuka said as i pushed her to go. It is  important for the name of my family to greet the king a proper greeting so ! I should quick get ready for it .
                             ~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay I'm  ready to go" i said as wear my black gloves. "Ahhhh you almost got me a heart attack! You clumsy young lady!" The butler said as he softly slap my head." Hehehe sorry , i didn't know they will come today " i said as i and the bulter started heading to our guests. The bulter sigh then he said "sarada my dear, you are the daughter of one of the famous Nobel families not to mention you are the oldest child here" he is right , i should always be perfect  by not doing what i love to do or even make anyone happy for a moment. The bulter noticed the change of my Expressions and said " yet you are the sun between the starts always making everyone happy by the way you behave" i smiled at what he said and said to him " you're the best mr. Bulter" he smiled and nodded as he opened the door of the livingroom.
I entered the living room and said my Greetings to everyone
There was the king kakushibo and his only son muichiro. Why is the prince is here too? Hmmm it's okay Shizuka maybe will get the chance to talk to him is we invited them for dinner !. YES! i will make sure of this ~•~.
What shocked me was the king and the queen of the north kingdom is here with there son. Aren't they our enemy? It's so confusing. I sat beside shizuka who was lowering her blushing face. I turned to see the prince muichiro staring at us with his dull face . I smiled to the little boy and waved to him. He looked quite shocked by actions but in the end he lazily waved back. I was trying to pay attention to what ever they were saying but I felt something burning my skin.
I turned to see the the prince of the north kingdom glaring at me with his red eyes like i have stolen something from him. I smile cheerfully to him but he only scoffed and turned to pay attention to what the adults is saying.
I took my cup of coffee and drink it. Hmmm it's quite Tasty. I turned to see how is my little sisis doing. Well she is doing better bad! She is still blushing not to mention she clearly stare at the prince from time to time . A smirk drawn on my face. I was going to test her but
"So your lady sarada kogezoku , the oldest daughter , and she is shizuka , the youngest one" the king kokoshibo said
"Yes , your highness . It pleasure for us meet you personally" i said while smiling cheerfully with shizuka nodding to him .
"The rumors was true about the Beauty of the oldest and the cuteness of the youngest , they both got the beautiful eyes of yours Miko and the rest they got it from there mother" the king said to my parents.  My father laughed a little while my mother lightly blushed just like shizuka who just blushed about what the king said. I only smiling widely and said
"I really appreciate and thanks what you said about us but i need to take my leave now" i said as i stood up
"Ah! Mrs. Sarada wait for a minute please" said the king of the north kingdom to me as he looked toward my father as if he wants him to say something. My father only sigh and said
"Sarada , my lovely daughter , i want you to understand this well and i know you will get it because it will solve lots of problems for us " my father said . I'm worried now
"What is it father?"
"You are engaged to the princes of the north bakogu katski"
"You're the smartest person I know."
original fiction
word count: 612
“You ready?”
Josie straightened up, attempted to straighten out her messy curls. Though Rhiannon’s finger hovered above the record button on her voice memo app, she could appreciate the effort. “Ready as I’ll ever be.”
She pressed the button. “Josie Penn, can you introduce yourself?”
“Hi. My name’s Josie Penn. I’m 25, a Scorpio-”
Rhiannon cleared her throat.
Josie merely grinned, before she continued, “And I’m a werewolf."
She checked her notebook, making sure she didn’t skip over a question. “When did you first become a werewolf?”
“The attack or my transformation?”
“The attack,” she clarified. At least she hadn’t brought up the laptop thing, not yet.
Josie glanced down in her lap, messing with the hem of her sweatshirt. “I was foraging for mushrooms during the last full moon with a friend. We got separated when this creature grabbed me and we sorta wrestled for a second. I won, obviously, but it left me scratched up before it got away. My friend bandaged me and I thought I’d be okay.” She chuckled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “I wasn’t.”
Rhiannon paused the recording. “Do you need a second?”
“No, I’m good,” Josie said. “It’s just harder thinking about it than I thought.”
“Yeah, I get it,” she muttered. “We can just stop. I mean, you just learned you were a werewolf yesterday. It was stupid to rush into this so soon.”
She reached over to slide her phone back, but Josie grabbed her wrist. Her amber eyes bored into her as she said, “I don’t think it’s stupid. You’re the smartest person I know.”
“Just because I’m smart doesn’t exempt me from bad ideas,” Rhiannon pointed out.
“Listen, I’m just glad I can help you prove stuff like werewolves are real,” she said, letting go of her wrist. “Hell, maybe we’ll become a cryptozoologist duo and we can find Bigfoot.”
She chuckled. “Maybe when I finish my Master’s.” She didn’t think it was worth mentioning that she would only believe Bigfoot was real when she came home to him watching Netflix in their living room.
“So, are you going to bail on me?” Josie asked.
“No,” Rhiannon said with a smile.
“Okay. Let me just-” She took a deep breath. “Fire away, Rhi.”
She pressed the button on her app. “Did you have any idea something was wrong after that night?”
“Not really. Not until it got closer to the full moon. I just felt… weird. Like, maybe it’s a weird metaphor, but it was a mix of PMS and that one movie about the cannibal girl. Raw?”
The gears were turning in her head as she tried to put it in more scientific terms. “So… mood swings, irritability?”
“Yeah. Plus a craving for meat. Not necessarily human, but I’ve been trying to cut down on meat and doing a pretty job at it. Until this week and I went all Rosemary’s Baby.”
Rhiannon briefly wondered if she’d have to reference the films Josie were dropping if she wrote a paper about her research.
“Any physical sensations?”
“I had a really bad headache the day of the full moon. That was it.”
“Do you feel ready to talk about the transformation?”
Josie was quiet for a moment. “I don’t think so. No. Not today.”
“Okay. Then that’s all the questions I have for now.” Rhiannon stopped the recording. “That’s a good start.”
“Alright.” She stood up. “I’m gonna go take a nap, if you need me.”
“No problem.” As she watched Josie walk away, she scooped up her phone. Rhiannon was a woman of very few regrets, but she still couldn’t help being doubtful of how this would turn out.
Writing prompt! The Thin Man and the Lady have a fight and he ends up hurting her feelings very badly. Realizing his mistake, he has to resort to desperate measures to apologize. Plenty of fluff and angst please!
Can't tell if you guys like ThinLady prompts/shorts, but sure~ This is more angst that fluff, and it ended up being very long ;w; Enjoy!
Title: I’ll Make This Up to You Word Count: 1663 Characters: the Lady, the Thin Man
Date night was ruined. The Thin Man and the Lady returned to the Tower annoyed and miserable. "Well, that was a bloody waste of time," the Thin Man groaned, shaking out the rain drops from their umbrella.
"I still can't believe they turned you away," the Lady added. She walked ahead of the Thin Man, grumbling in disappointment.
"To be fair, they did ask for reservation first. And here I thought my immense popularity could get us in easily." The Thin Man looked at the back of the Lady sadly. "I'll make this up you to, dearest. I promise."
"Whatever."
The disappointment in her tone hit him hard. It wasn't like her to give him the cold shoulder, even when angered. "I promise!" the Thin Man repeated desperately, "When have I ever gone back on a promise?"
"It's fine." The Lady turned around to face him, hands held up in front of her. "I'm just...tired, and stressed out. I just thought coming over would de-stress me."
"Yes, that's the only time you come over," the Thin Man grumbled to himself, "Whenever work gets to you, I pull you over and try to get you to relax."
"Oh, so it's my fault I don't visit Pale City more often?" the Lady snapped.
"What? N-No? I'm just saying-"
"Mono, it's fine. I'm just gonna go to my lovely pink room you've made for me, and I'm going to go take a nap. It's fine." The Lady turned away and walked over to the elevator.
The Thin Man froze. They never used their real names, unless it was an argument...a bad one. He should have just let this one go, but he was vindictive by nature. The Thin Man followed the Lady into the elevator silently and angrily. "I just want to make this up to you...Six."
The Lady perked up at the mentioning of her name. "It's fine," she answered stiffly.
"Is it?" The Thin Man leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. "This is only the first time I've let you down...unlike you, 50 years ago."
The Lady stared at him with alarm. "We've settled that."
The Thin Man shrugged his shoulders. "Well, you know me: old, bitter, and vengeful."
She didn't respond. The elevator had brought them to her floor. The Lady got out first in a hurry, but the Thin Man wasn't far behind. "You're not really going to bring that up again, are you?" She turned to study him.
The Thin Man held up one finger. "The ONE time I let you down, and this is what I get, you ungrateful wench."
"50 years ago, Mono!"
"Basically yesterday for me, Six! Or, have you forgotten the weird time warp thing that's in this tower?"
"50 years ago is not yesterday, no matter how warped your sense of time really is."
"Oh, I suppose you wouldn't understand it since you weren't abandoned here! You got to enjoy or un-enjoy life, while I was stuck in a lonesome world with nothing by monsters and nightmares!"
"But, I came back!"
"50 years too late, you hateful witch! You might has well just forgotten me, like you do with everyone who tries to help you."
The air between them suddenly went silent and cold. He went too far. The Lady looked at him quietly. She was proud and regal, both of which did their best to hide the hurt in her voice. "Take me home. Now."
The Thin Man wasn't a stubborn man. The second he heard her request, his heart broke. "Fine." He waved his hand high over his head and the corridor changed to a dark room with several floating television screens. He brought down the one that lead back to the Maw and stepped aside to let the Lady go.
Usually, the Thin Man would go through the t.v. screen first and pull the Lady through to transport them to their next place. But by now, the Lady had learned his tricks and changed her magic to go through the t.v. screens herself, if needed. She stepped forward and exited the Tower to her Residency without another word.
When she was on the other side, the Thin Man croaked. "Darling, I-" He looked up and saw the Lady had already moved away from it. The Thin Man flung to his side of the screen. "NO, DON'T UNPLUG THE-"
Bzzt! The screen was gone and the Thin Man stumbled forward. The Lady had unplugged her television set, effectively cutting him off from contacting her. A quick away of panic swelled in the Thin Man. It was easy for him to turn on a t.v. from his side, if it was plugged in. But, if it was unplugged...
The Thin Man grabbed at the buttons on his coat, shaking with anxiety. "No, she's just angry with me," he told himself as calmly as possibly, "She'll come back. She has to...she has to." The Thin Man knew the Lady wasn't just angry with him. She was furious, and hurt. That was more than enough reason for her to never want to talk to him again, and more than enough to let his old fears of abandonment spread quickly like wildfire. He had to go to the Maw and apologize. It was his only chance to fix this.
The Thin Man summoned the other television screens and frantically looked for the other two t.v.s in the Maw. "There!" He found a static screen to a familiar, dark storage room and slipped through the screen without hesitation. Thanks to the Janitor's television, the Thin Man was on the Maw, and he wasted no time trying to get to his beloved; except, he wasn't familiar with the lower regions of the Maw. He got out of the storage and paused. Where was he suppose to go now? He knew he had to go up, but the only thing in front of him was a piano hanging around precariously. There was no way that was going to hold his weight, nor was he going to fit through the peephole on the other side. The Thin Man pulled himself up unto the next level above and found the Janitor.
The Thin Man froze. Roger was blind, but had sharp reflexes and hearing; and most importantly, knew how to get to the upper decks. All the Thin Man had to do was follow the short man with lanky arms quietly, and he'll be one step closer to his goal. He followed Roger slowly and at a safe distance, then tiptoed into the lift with him. Once they were on the next floor, the Thin Man continued his slow and stealthy pace, but Roger shut the gate to the lift before the taller man could leave it. "No!" the Thin Man snarled to himself. "Ffff- Roger, I'm going to strangle you when I get out of here."
The Thin Man looked around for another exit. There was a hatch overhead, so he flipped it over and pulled himself up and onto the lift. Next to it was an air duct which was small enough for a child or Nome to crawl through. The Thin Man stared at it. "The things I do for love..." He took off his hat and tucked it into his suit jacket. Then, he pushed himself through the tiny entrance. Lucky for him, he was skinny enough to pass through the tight, mental space, but only so much at a time. What was worst was that he still wasn't sure where he was going. When he reached the first grated filter he found, the Thin Man had to punch it to open it. He tumbled out clumsily, landing in a sitting position sore and tired.
"Thin Man!?" The Thin Man looked up at the mentioning of his name. It was the Lady, looking down at him, startled and bewildered. "What are you doing here?"
The Thin Man scrambled to his feet. "I'm sorry!" he shouted, "I came here to apologize. I'm sorry! I shouldn't have said what I said. I take it all back."
"How are you-"
"T.V. from storage," he answered before she could finish her question. He took a carefully step forward. "Please, I love you with all my heart. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said those things. Name it, and it's yours."
The Lady stared at him in disbelief. "You just want me to turn back on the t.v in my room, don't you?"
"I will crawl on broken glass naked if that what it takes to make it up to you," he said desperately.
"No, I don't want you to do that," the Lady sighed, "It wasn't fun the first time. I don't like seeing you in pain." She looked at the pity on his face. All she had to do was give the word and he'll do it with little hesitation. "Two dozen red roses-"
"Done!"
"-and a show and dance number from you, apologizing again to me, in front of my Guests."
That second part shot down his confidence in flames. It wasn't that he wasn't capable of performing arts. He was actually very good at it. His shyness, though, was his Achilles Heel. "...can I just-"
"Bye, then." The Lady started to walk off, but the Thin Man rushed forward and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"No, no, no, no, no! Show and dance, fine-fine! I can...do...that..." His voice trailed off shyly, and his cheeks started to burn, too.
"Tonight," the Lady added the extra condition quickly.
The Thin Man groaned. "I don't like you, sometimes."
"Unfortunate, because I sometimes like you." The Lady straightened up to nuzzle the side of his face with hers. "Apple Sauce..."
He melted at her touch, and his pet name. "Lovely Nemesis of Mine," he whispered sweetly. The two stood there, holding each other. That's all they really needed, and a promised show and dance; but, that will come later.
Castle fanfiction
Why did you elbow me? 64
Under arrest 3
Lanie: pov In the scan room Kate is transferred to the bed. She is definitely sore from yesterday. I'm waiting in the control room with the technicians. Afterwards I talk with her Dr about the results he says nothing looks concerning. There is no current issue, it's still just the arrhythmia. He says her having been shot and having arrhythmia makes her more likely to have ventricular fibrillation. But something has to cause it or trigger it.
Castle: pov back in Kate's room we arrive with the food I made sure to get her oatmeal. Lanie says her scans look good. We decided to have a movie day and watch some movies. For lunch I got everyone sandwiches except Kate. The food tasted amazing. Kate slept through most of the movie. A nurse came in regularly to give her meds and check on her. The nurse mentioned Kate might be in pain or sore so try and have her limit her movement. Jim stayed for dinner. Kate's food looked like something healthy. Ryan and Esposito called to give us an update on the case. Mother and Alexis had plans tonight.
Kate: pov I'm just so sore Lanie went to talk to my Dr about something. My dad said he is heading back to the loft for tonight. Before bed I'm given my night time meds. It is now morning and it is hard falling asleep with someone coming in your room all night to check on you. Thankfully this time Lanie told the nurse not to come in for a few hours so I slept pretty good. Carl the Cardiologist talks about how after breakfast if everything looks good I can go home. My Cardiologist got me an appointment this week with a pulmonary Dr to make sure everything is good with my lungs and pulmonary vein.
Jim: pov Lanie said all of Kate's morning scans are good and she is no longer on the ventricular fibrillation medicine which is great. Breakfast for Kate is Cheerios, once at the loft me and Castle get her settled in their room. I decided to take a walk and read a book before lunch. Kate said she had a headache.
Lanie: pov Castle is in his office getting some writing done. Kate is taking a nap. I decided to put her pulmonary appointment on the calendar. That is when I noticed on the calendar it mentions she has a dentist appointment tomorrow and Castle has a meeting at black pawn. I talked with her Dr and he said to keep the appointment since it is just a cleaning. Castle says he is trying to cancel the meeting but Gina is being mean. Lunch is a simple yogurt with fruit and granola for Kate everyone else is having a chicken sandwich. After lunch we decided to play a few board games as a family. It has been decided I will take Kate to the dentist. I think Jim wants to come with us and Castle can go to the meeting at black pawn. Alexis has classes early tomorrow and Martha has an acting class.
Castle: pov for dinner I made a healthy soup Mother and Alexis showed up right as we were setting the table. Alexis is telling us all about her day and how classes went. She mentions her classes get out early tomorrow and can she invite Paige over for lunch. I say you don't have to ask If you can bring a friend over she says but Lanie and Papa Jim are over. Kate says it's fine my dad has a lunch date with a friend after my dentist appointment and me and Lanie can go in my room and watch a movie or us 4 girls can.
Kate: pov I went to bed early. I'm so tired, sore and don't feel good. In the morning Castle and Lanie made sure everything was ready for me. I took my pill, showered and went downstairs to have some Cheerios. Lanie and Dad were already to leave. I kissed Castle goodbye. The car ride is not that long. Once we arrived at the dentist appointment Dad sat down with me while Lanie talked to the receptionist and filled out some forms.
Jim: pov Lanie tells me to sit with Kate while she fills out some forms and paperwork.
Lanie: pov I told the receptionist I called yesterday and talked with the Dentist himself about Kate's health. She mentions he will be the one cleaning her teeth instead of a hygienist. The dentist is nice and is going to let Jim in the room with us while he cleans her teeth.
Kate: pov my name is called. Lanie and Jim walk on either side of me holding my hands just in case. Once in the chair Lanie sits next to me holding my hand Dad is sitting in a chair in the corner. The dentist mentions. Does she always get hurt on the job? Lanie says no her heart condition is because of her shooting all those years ago. The dentist is nice and mentions what everything is and what they are for.
Lanie: pov Kate did fantastic at the dentist and was calm the whole time. I decided to pick up lunch on the way back to the loft for us girls. I make sure Kate's food is healthy. She texted Alexis letting her know she is picking up food. As soon as we get to the loft Jim gets ready for his lunch date with an old friend and leaves. I set the food down on the table.
Alexis: pov Lanie is unloading the food which looks good. I thank her for picking it up and she says no problem. Kate did not eat much and said she was not hungry. Thankfully I had talked to Paige beforehand about what not to say or ask in front of Kate. Paige asks all about Kate's Job and her health once lunch is over Lanie and Kate head to the master bedroom to watch a movie. Lanie says to me she is actually hoping Kate takes a nap. Because she feels a little warm which is concerning. To be continued. ……..
I'm glad your day went well. I'm also happy that you have co-workers willing to help you and support you whenever you need it, they sound like a good team. And man I wanted the cloudy day to last a lot more! I just had like 2 hours of anatomy and then decided to call mom to let her know, I called Pau and then her. I was feeling bittersweet but I guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
I usually listen the playlist you made while doing homework, but since I have a homework-free weekend, today I took a nap as soon as I finished writing the last letter and woke up around... 4 PM? And I had the 3rd song playing in my head on and on, and that's weird because I usually don't listen to that band but that song's actually kind of good, that and the second one. I know AM was like... our band? I don't know, I guess I just listened to them like A LOT back in our university so I just attached them to you. And I know why it all starts with "suck it and see" but, why piledriver waltz? I always felt that you'd like Hiding Tonight or even Glass in the park so, why Piledriver Waltz?
I didn't knew that about your brother! Is he open about it in your family? I do hope that they can get along and get to know each other better, I know your brother's a good person and for sure he'll be good to him but... yeah, I don't know, I guess my big brother senses are always on. And speaking of, we're still not talking to each other much. Monday he gave a bubblegum when he heard that I volunteered myself three times so that my classmates could practice on taking blood samples. He almost made me cry. He also has a girlfriend, I believe I must have mentioned her a little. She's a good kid. Kind, shy (VERY SHY) and the quiet type, it seems he does all the talking whenever ordering fast food and that actually surprises me lol. Yesterday I practiced piano a little bit in his room (he spent the night at her house) because I've been feeling a lot of stress lately and since I don't have a guitar right now I thought that maybe playing his piano for an hour or two would help me, and it did! I was learning The Avatar's Love and the Prelude of FF VII BUT I FORGOT TO TAKE MY HEADPHONES WITH ME OUT OF HIS ROOM AND TODAY WHEN HE CAME BACK HE HANDED THEM TO MOM. I was caught in the act but he didn't seemed to care that much tbh so yeah, all's good.
Now, music. I feel that your playlist is a little more direct than mine? At least with the wording, and I knew that you would be asking why I put on those songs in there, maybe because they don't seem like a "love" song but, bear with me a little.
I see Heaven's on fire like a "please, don't" kind of song. As if telling you, "when I look at you, I feel at my weakest. When I look at you, I forget about my ideals. When I look at you, heaven's on fire" because... I see Heaven as my mind, and I know that if I were to see you, a lot of repressed emotions would come out, and that's what I've been learning to deal with. For me to see you and not setting my heaven on fire. Now, the rest of the lyrics. I know it says "I'm a little like you, ugly on the inside" but I don't mean it in THAT way... We know that what we're doing is wrong, and we have to put an end to this. But... I feel glad that you felt the same as me in a way all these years... Well, not really "glad" but relieved because now I don't feel as alone as I did back then. So, I'm a little like you. "In constantly moving against the tide". Do I have to explain myself? I wrote you back then even though you have already made your own life, even though it seemed to everyone that you've already moved on, even though it was wrong. I was constantly moving against the tide. "But while I dive into the gritty, you just stand by" and you had every right to do so. I was trying so hard for you to stay back when I first wrote you, and it seemed to me that you didn't cared at all. I was diving into gathering all the courage that I had to beg for you to stay, and it seemed to me that you were just standing, reading without writing anything, and now I know you had every right to do so. I no longer feel bad about it, and I know it must've been hard for you too, so, I'm sorry if I didn't made it any less easier. I guess that sums it all up.
Now, the bug collector. First and foremost, I love bugs with my life. I like them in all types and shapes. I guess I didn't spoke too much about it back then, but I always try to grab "harmful" insects and take them to a place where they can continue with their life peacefully away from us humans that don't understand the importance of their lives. I see this song as a "I'm here to reassure you that everything's going to be ok". This song can have a lot of different interpretations, but I see it as a very, very, very deep devotion that a person can have to another. I see it as if the other person may see things in an "anxious way" like, "omg, this is going to go so wrong. I can't do this because of this reason. I won't be able to do it because of that". Like in the book metamorphosis, we can understand in a way that it doesn't necessarily mean that he turned into a cockroach but he felt that way because of how everyone else treated him, and so whenever this song goes "there's a centipede naked in your bedroom", "there's a praying mantis prancing in your bathtub", "there's a millipede angry on your carpet", it may be that there's actually bugs there, but maybe they're an interpretation of the other person's own insecurities and the singer willingness to do whatever it takes to calm them down, "i try my best to scoop the slugger out the window", "try my best to put the priest inside a jam jar", "i try my best to prove that nothing's out to get you". I will try my best to solve your insecurities, your problems, I will do whatever it takes so that I can help you feel better, safe and secure here. "and I digress 'cause i must make you the perfect morning". Deep devotion for the other person. And seeing it through a more simple way: I love bugs, and always try to take them out of my home and put them outside, but I have two doggies that I have to but before me, and them, so if I see a spider and I know that it's dangerous, I'll kill it, even though I know that I could simply take it outside but, what will happen if my doggies step on it or if the spider bites them? Sometimes love is about doing what is right for the ones you love, even if it means that you'll have to hurt someone else. And that's the same with you. I love bugs, but I would always put you before them. I would've always put you before anyone else. Would've.
Treasure planet might be my favorite animated movie ever, because it holds such a place in my heart. I would always watch it when I was a kid, like every night, and mom would watch it with me. There's this scene where "sigo aquí" is playing and it shows that Jim's dad left, and I cry so hard whenever that scene is played, we saw it last week and she hugged me because she knows how close to home it hits me, but I no longer cry for my dad for I had a wonderful father, my grandfather. He will always be the man I inspire to be (have I ever told you about him? I think mom and I did right?). I cry for mom. Because I know it must've been hard for her to take care of me on her own. Yes, she had her brother and sisters but it took her like a year and a half to meet my stepdad and I recall that time of our lives to be kind of rough. I cry for her and all of the pain she had to bear whilst her kid was crying for his dad every night, making her feel not good enough. I'm sorry mom. I'll hug her first thing tomorrow morning.
Oh dang, I just saw that I've been writing for more than an hour. I'm such a slow writer lol. So yeah, thank you for your words and I'll try to score higher next time.
In which you've got textbook daddy issues and when your tool of a younger brother brings a sweet doe eyed girlfriend home for Thanksgiving and you end up offering her a ride home, you meet just the man to fix them.
Daddy issues- Masterlist, Author’s Note & Warnings
Chapter 5 / alternatively, read on wattpad
Part 6 (Word count: 4,5K)
“...Y/N!” a confused Emily greeted you at the front door
“Hey, hi! Just came over to collect my car... “ you laughed weekly, a bit out of breath but trying to mask it with fake enthusiasm. You swallowed the lump in your throat and explained “I forgot to get my car keys back before I left yesterday and your dad was kind enough to offer to go get it from where we’d left it near the airport for me”
You could see Harry from behind his daughter all the way in the living room area, his concerned expression quickly morphing into one of his trademark smirks. Yeah. Saved your ass, you’re welcome.
Those window-hopping skills were really coming into handy, now, too, weren’t they? You gave him a knowing look then focused your attention solely on Emily, lest you gave anything away.
“Yeah, dad mentioned that just earlier. We were literally just talking about it, how weird is that?” she laughed and you internally cringed at how close a call this had been. “Hey, come in, sorry to keep you at the door like that!”
“No, it’s alright, I’ll just uh, grab the keys and be on my way”
“Nonsense” Harry finally cut in “Come in, stay a little, don’t be a stranger”
He really wasn’t doing a great job at keeping a neutral face, but you probably weren’t either. Good thing Emily was seemingly more preoccupied with her phone than the two of you exchanging heated glances.
“I should really get going. Wanna avoid the traffic on the way back and all that…”
“Guess there’s no point sticking around if you’re not going to visit with your parents” Emily sighed then grimaced “Derek told me about the whole mess with your folks and them being mad at you for not showing up…”
You froze and glanced at Harry who was now frowning at the realization that you hadn’t, in fact, visited with your parents the previous day “He did, did he? Well. Yeah. It’s… a long story. But yeah, guess there’s no reason not to be heading home. “
After a drawn out moment of awkward silence, Harry cleared his throat “I’ll just bring out your trolley, I hadn’t gotten to getting it to the car yet” he said, his voice grave
“Oh, yeah. Thanks” you nodded, hands folded in front of you.
“Sorry you had to go a whole day without your stuff” the girl shrugged while her father went into the bedroom to get your trolley “Dad told me how you eventually left yesterday since you probably got tired of waiting, him taking his sweet time napping on the couch and all...” she giggled
“Please, it’s fine. Thanks again for having me over the other day, hope you didn’t mind me intruding like that…”
“Of course not! Besides, it turned out fine, since I had to go caroling and dad didn’t have to spend Christmas Eve all by himself. He told me you two even played a board game, and you let him win. I never let him win, so I imagine he must’ve been pretty psyched!”
“Yeah, guess I did, didn’t I” you cleared your throat “Well, thanks nonetheless”
Harry emerged with your trolley and you followed him to the car “Well it’s been nice seeing you again, Y/N! Drive safe!”
“You too, and thanks!”
The girl shut the front door leaving you and Harry in the driveway, him loading your trolley into your truck
“So what did you do yesterday when you weren’t, in fact, visiting with your parents?” he asked, not looking at you while he busied himself unnecessarily with your luggage
“What does it matter?” you shrugged. You got slightly defensive, not being used to anyone giving you the third degree anymore
After a long moment, he finally turned and looked at you properly, shutting the truck “You really running off on me like this?” his voice quiet and a bit apprehensive
“I’m not running off” you scoffed “I really need to be getting back. Got work tomorrow”
“That’s not what I meant and you know it”
You looked at him closely then, this was really bothering him “And what would you have had me do, Harry? Hide in your bedroom indefinitely?” you whisper-shouted
“No” he shoved his hands into his pockets “I was going to drive Emily to her grandparents’, she visits with them for a couple of days on her winter breaks...”
You didn’t even know what that had to do with you “Yeah, well… I still got work tomorrow and it’s already gonna be heavy traffic leaving so late”
He searched your eyes, his gaze shifting from one to the other back and forth until he finally took a few steps backwards “Drive safe, Y/N”
You nodded, averting your eyes and quickly getting in the car. You pulled out of the driveway, not resisting not looking at him just before you drove off, his expression unreadable, but looking into your rearview mirror you could see him looking after you until your car took a turn and his house was no longer in vision.
*
After having smoked for the entirety of your short trip home, getting back to your “other” home, you decided to start all over again and quit cold turkey this time around. It wasn’t going as well though. Not even a full week in and you were going absolutely mental.
Realistically, you knew this was not the only reason for why you were feeling absolutely miserable.
You’d transferred your father the money to pay off your car loan, and made sure to tell your mother to check his balance but she barely acknowledged your text.
You were still so mad at them for not even giving you a call. Up until Emily mentioned your brother telling her that your parents were mad at you for not making it home for Christmas, you’d honestly thought they’d forgotten all about you.
But no, of course they were the ones that were mad. After not having even told you not to bother going to the airport to pick up your brother who they knew wasn’t even coming! What if something had happened to you on the way? What if there’d been an accident? There were literally endless reasons why you could’ve not made it home that Christmas Eve.
When were you going to get it into your head? They didn’t care. Nobody cared. Nobody.
The fact that you were about to spend New Year’s alone was testament to that. You’d never felt more alone in your life. All your friends had plans, everybody was out celebrating but you flat out refused all of their invitations to various parties.
You were going to be throwing your own party. A pity party.
You made sure to stack up on booze and ibuprofen. The rest was superfluous. The only thing you were regretting was not having gotten any cigarettes. Because you had a feeling you’d be needing them soon. It was all getting a bit too much.
You lay on your bed, lights out, just you and your bottle of bourbon. You’d gotten the same you’d drank at Harry’s the night you met him, and you decided it was worth splurging on for New Year’s. It was really good bourbon. But it also made you really nostalgic.
You’d be lying if you said you hadn’t been obsessing over that last night together. And how could you not? Nothing had ever even come close. But then, you had no idea what happened that following morning, you just knew that, somehow, you’d fucked it all up.
And for what?
He’d been right, you were running away. But why and from what exactly, you had no clue to this day. What was the worst thing that could’ve happened? He would’ve fucked your brains out. Boo-hoo.
You took a chug of your bourbon. The sound it made swishing around in the bottle announced that you were going to finish it before the fireworks hit, so you tried to pace yourself a bit.
You wondered what he was doing for New Year’s. Probably some hot chick.
Another chug.
You huffed. It seemed like such a long time ago, almost like a fever dream. When in reality it hadn’t even been a week since he’d made you come so hard that you thought your vision would go impaired indefinitely. And that was using just his fingers. You were actually genuinely afraid of what he would’ve done using his cock, given a chance.
Had you? -Given him a chance? Did he even want it? He’d sounded like he wanted to take things further. If only you hadn’t blown your chances like an idiot...
You weren’t nearly as drunk as you thought you were going to be by then. And you definitely needed to be drunk to get through the night. You could hear your neighbors from all around you partying. Everybody was buzzing, and you couldn’t even get buzzed.
To be fair, the alcohol was probably at least doing something, ‘cause you caught your finger hovering above his number. How’d it even get there? Hm. Well, in any case, you weren’t drunk enough to call, so maybe just an innocent text?
<<your bourbon is a hit at my new year’s party>>
You scoffed, throwing your phone to the side and rubbing your face in second hand embarrassment at your own lame joke. You couldn’t feel your nose, so that was promising.
Your phone chimed. Probably Sephora wishing you a Happy New Year and urging you to grab a concealer they had on sale, just in time to mask the post-partying undereye evidence. How considerate.
<<Yeah? And I wasn’t invited? Rude.>>
Your eyes widened. Shit. You really actually pressed send on that? That threw you into a fit of giggles.
<<three’s a crowd>>
<<How about a foursome? I could bring its older brother. Since I know you’ve got a more... matured taste.>>
You blinked at the display, re-reading his message several times. Was he actually inviting himself over and referencing your taste for older men all in the same text?
<<that’s more like it>>
<<Good thing I’m in town, then. Text me the address and we’ll be there in time for countdown.>>
You sat up in bed a little bit too rapidly, but was surprised that the room didn’t start spinning as a result. You definitely weren’t nearly drunk enough for this. But if he really was there, and he really was willing to drop by, were you really going to pass up the opportunity? It didn’t even have to lead to anything sexual. Though you’d be lying if you said you didn’t desperately hope he’d take the hint.
Realization hit as you remembered you’d just invited this man to your pity party and he’d definitely know it the minute he walked in. You were a mess. Hadn’t shaved in as many days as you’d been back home. Hadn’t brushed your teeth that day. Hadn’t brushed your hair in three, since you last washed it. Hadn’t even changed out of your pajamas. Hadn’t made your bed. Hadn’t taken out the trash. Definitely hadn’t put on any makeup.
But in spite of all that, you texted him your address and scurried into the bathroom, razor in tow. You then threw on some actual fresh clothes and tidied your bed, quickly put on some mascara and brushed your tangles and just when you were about to reconsider your outfit and most importantly, your choice of undergarments, the doorbell rang.
Crap, crap, crap.
At least you had time for one last chug of the bourbon. Guess it’d have to be a threesome after all.
You swung the door open, a little out of breath and you were met with the biggest smile you’d seen on Harry’s face, ever “Hi”
“Hi yourself” Crap, that accent again. He could’ve said anything and make it sound like the most depraved, filthiest thing you’d ever heard. You pushed that thought aside, trying not to get too worked up, and gestured for him to come in, which he did, in that slow paced manner of his that made everything seem so… right.
“I see you’ve brought your friend”
“It’s what got me the invite” he handed the bourbon to you and you quickly grabbed it and headed into the open space kitchen, suddenly feeling very self conscious.
He looked so good, it should’ve been illegal. He filled the whole room with his cologne, he made every space he walked into look so tiny with his tall frame in the foreground. What was a man like that doing in your one bedroom rental, on New Year’s Eve, no less? You just couldn’t make sense of it. He could’ve literally been anywhere. He could be doing anything, anyone, but he somehow was there, with you. And for what? What was wrong with him? Surely there must’ve been something terribly wrong with him to choose to be there with you of all places.
Yet there he was, clad in his long dark navy winter coat, looking like sex on toast, his eyes following you eagerly as you moved around the kitchen.
“You can take off your coat, you know” you tried to sound as casual as possible as you reached for a cupboard to find some of your fancier glasses you kept for special occasions, and you realized you’d never actually gotten to using them. This was it. This was the special occasion they’d been waiting in that cupboard for all those years.
“Already trying to get me naked?” you jumped, his playful tone coming from much closer than you’d expected it. He chuckled at your reaction, grabbing you by the elbow gently to help you catch your footing, lest you dropped your precious glasses “Woah. Maybe I just take the coat off”
You glanced at him from under your lashes as he shrugged said coat off, leaving him in a dark shirt, unbuttoned all the way to his midriff and you thought to yourself that he could’ve just really gotten naked at this point, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference, you were already such a goner.
He caught you ogling him and paused before throwing his coat over a chair’s backrest after folding it with the lining facing outward.
“Y/N… I was only joking. Hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable”
“What?” you scoffed “No, you’re fine. Uhm... So, how come you’re in town?” you averted your eyes quickly, filling up the glasses
He shrugged, you were certain he didn’t believe you though “Well my friends wouldn’t take no for an answer. They all pretty much live in the city, I’m the boring suburban single dad” he sighed for dramatic effect, placing his hands on his hips “So here I am”
“Actually there’s quite a bit there in between that you’re not disclosing. How come you ditched them to be here?” you still avoided looking at him, nursing your glass of bourbon as if you hadn’t had a whole bottle all to yourself before he came.
“I said I’m the boring suburban single dad, not the idiot. How was I gonna pass you inviting me over, hm? Especially after you ran off on me at Christmas” he got closer to you, his voice a low murmur towards the end. So you were going to address the elephant in the room
“I didn’t run off…” “You literally couldn’t have pulled your car out of my driveway quicker” he chuckled
“In fact I could have and I did, for Thanksgiving. You should’ve seen the Need for Speed stunts I pulled”
Somehow, very stealthily, you found yourself trapped between the counter and Harry hovering over you, his arms on either side of you, resting his palms flat on the fake marble top “Y/N?”
“Hm?” your stupid voice was betraying your nervousness
“You said you didn’t regret it” his eyes searched yours with a disarming amount of honesty in them
“I don’t” you murmured, matching his tone
“I gave you space, after you ran off- yeah, ran off like that” he cut you off before you could interject. He exhaled through his nose, trying to find the right words “But now that you’ve invited me here, I need to know. What is this? What are we doing?”
“...Partying?” you winced
Harry threw his head back barking a laugh “I thought we were having a foursome. Talk about disappointed” You smiled at each other some more then the silence was beginning to get too heavy again “I’m just trying not to misread anything again”
“Again?”
He raised an eyebrow “Like I did with the infamous panties. The ones I was adamant you’d left in my en suite on purpose?”
“Hmmm. Gotcha”
“Y/N…” he sighed, resting his forehead against yours “I’m going out on a limb here. You’ve gotta throw me a bone.”
Your breath caught at the contact. You desperately wanted to tell him, but you didn’t know what you wanted to tell him. You wanted him, that was certain, but exactly how much did you want from him? Where did you draw the line?
Suddenly, you could hear cheering sounds from your neighbors from all over closely followed by deafening sounds of fireworks that felt way too close to your building not to be a safety hazard.
But it all was a welcome distraction from the way your heart pounded from being that close to him again. You could feel him breathing heavily, his exhales landing on your cheekbones in staggered, rapid huffs.
Just as you felt him getting ready to say something, you took the plunge, pushing your nose against the side of his, managing to tilt his head ever so slightly and connecting your lips to his. He didn’t miss a beat. As soon as your mouths were on each other, his hands went straight to your waist, almost as if wanting to make sure you were not going anywhere.
And you definitely weren’t going anywhere, or “running off”. As soon as you felt more than heard him moan against your mouth, due to the loud fireworks, you opened up for him and let him melt into you, and you into him, until you had no idea where his face ended and yours started.
“I need words, baby. I’m all about physical expression but this needs to be clear on both ends” he managed to get out, out of breath, before diving right back in, kissing you some more while you tried to form a coherent sentence in your mind first “This is me telling you I want you, in case you hadn’t caught on” another kiss, and these were no short pecks, oh no, he kissed you senseless each time he went in “No holding back” another “I want to devour you, just like you were begging me to with your eyes last time, except this time around you’re going to be screaming it” he groaned and added his teeth a bit into the mix with this next kiss, biting at your lips slightly with each pull of his lips.
You were dizzy, and it still wasn’t from the damn bourbon. You knew he was growing impatient but would never push you into saying or doing anything, you felt totally at ease in his presence while freaking out majorly, internally, at the same time.
“I want this, too, Harry” you managed, completely out of breath and you didn’t even get to finish your sentence before he scooped you up and placed you on the countertop, your bum barely resting on it at all as he was supporting your whole body weight, pulling you flush against him and keeping your thighs held tightly around his hips while grinding deliciously against you.
“Fucking finally” he groaned, pulling you even closer somehow “I’m losing my mind. I’ve been losing my mind all this time. Do you have any fucking clue?” he yanked your hair at that, almost as if chastising you for making him go through all that. You whimpered, loving the sting and he made a sound deep in his chest that you swore could’ve made you come right there and then all on itself. It was raw, primal and absolutely uninhibited.
The fireworks were still going strong as you two clawed at each other. You sank your fingers, finally, into his thick head of curls and he began kissing down your jawline and behind your ear, making you crazy with lust.
“I couldn’t get those sounds you make out of my head, fuck I want to hear you. Be loud for me baby, I want to hear you over those fireworks”
At that, he splayed his fingers under your blouse, pushing it upwards but not all the way, and you took it as your cue to undress, but only if you were ready and comfortable to do so. It was a heady mix, him being so dominant and at the same time letting you have all the control. It was an unspoken dynamic that you were more than happy with, and you lifted the blouse up and over your head immediately, throwing it carelessly to the floor.
You lowered the straps to your bra as well but let him unclasp it, and it was so cliché of you, but how could you not go weak in the knees seeing how easily he did that using his left hand, no less, the right one already at the front of your bra, tugging it away from your body.
He took a moment to look at you, and you almost wish he hadn’t, because the look in his eyes was absolutely predatory. His analogy to being the big, bad wolf came to mind again and you did feel like you’ve been sweet talked only for him to reveal his fangs now.
They do say a gentleman is but a patient wolf.
He dipped his head tongue first between your breasts and you leaned back, giving him easier access, his mouth hot and wet as he lavished your breasts until they were slick with his saliva, making it easier for him to massage them in his big palms as he focused his mouth directly on your nipples next.
“Oh God!”
He hummed, spurring you on, as you cradled his head closer to your body, but his fingers made swift work of your jeans’ zipper next, and you lifted your bum so that he could pull them off of you right along with your panties this time.
“I can smell you already, you’re so ready for me, aren’t you baby?”
“Yes, yes! So ready” you clawed at his shirt’s lapels and kissed him for all you were worth.
“Gonna let daddy have a taste then? Hm? Been going crazy just thinking about it” he pressed his forehead against yours once more, nudging your nose with his as he whined his request.
“Oh, please, please, do it! I’m dripping for you”
“You’re ready to slip off this countertop, my sweet girl” he nuzzled your ear next “I’m going to eat you up” he announced, menacingly, referring to his previous analogy once more and you would’ve giggled had he not sounded dead serious.
He pulled your thighs apart and caressed the insides while he descended down your body lapping at every inch of skin in his lips’ wake. Every now and again you would jump a little but you didn’t know if it was because of what he was doing to you, nipping at your skin occasionally and lapping at it soothingly immediately afterwards, or the loud fireworks startling you, or both.
When he finally went down on his knees, him being tall enough to reach your apex even kneeling, you shuddered in anticipation and he fixed his eyes on yours, pushing your knees apart and further back. The look he was giving you was positively feral.
You’d have expected him to start with the usual, soft kisses here and there, working his way in, but not Harry. He gave your glistening core a short, sharp slap, not too hard but not too soft either, the sound of his palm against your juices straight out of your wildest fantasies. Your yelp morphed into a moan and his eyes darkened considerably seeing your reaction “I can’t take it” he exhaled sharply “I’m teasing myself more than you at this point. Gotta have a taste. Need your scent all over my face. Can I, baby?”
“Yesss” you sighed dreamily, your hand going into his hair, pushing his stray curls back
“Yes, what? I want to hear you say it” he whined, his voice going a bit higher with need “Whose pussy is this, baby? Who’s gonna ruin you?”
“Yours, daddy, you are!” you cried
“Fuck, say it again” he ordered, before delving tongue first, licking his way from your weeping entrance right up to your swollen clit
“Ah! Daddy!”
He hummed against your clit sending vibrations through your whole body “So sweet for me. Never gonna get enough of this. Want you riding my face all the time”
“Oh!” you cried as he pushed two fingers into you easily, pumping steadily
“Yeah? That good, baby? You’re ready to burst, aren’t you? Just dying to let go. I can’t wait to see you fall apart again” he spoke right against your clit, nibbling at it with every word and he’d somehow found your g-spot already, stroking it determinately
You sat up straighter, pulling on Harry’s hair a bit more than you’d intended but the way he rolled his eyes back told you just how much he’d minded that “Oh fuck, oh God!”
“Yeah? You gonna come for daddy, baby? Already? Such a needy little slut for me, aren’t you?”
“Fuck!” you cried. How was he doing this? He’d barely even started. And why was him calling you his slut turning you on so much?
“Please, daddy! Please, please” you huffed pantingly “I’ll do whatever you want”
“Oh honey, careful, I might just take you up on that!” he chuckled menacingly, rubbing your clit vigorously and it sent you spiraling.
“I will, I swear! Oh, ohhh!” you threw your head back as he sucked your clit intently while pumping his fingers into you with even more determination and before you even realized it was happening, you were coming, hard.
You could feel your legs flailing against his shoulders but he held you steadily, not letting up, riding you through your high until you darn near actually collapsed and slipped off the counter. You realized it had just gone silent outside, and that it had probably only been around 5 minutes in total, which was absolutely unheard of in your books.
As you tried to catch your breath he straightened, going straight for your mouth and you gasped against his wet face. He chuckled “You did so good for me baby, absolutely drenched me, didn’t you?”
You looked at him through heavy eyelids, a slight confused look on your face taking him in. You knew you tended to get really wet when you were aroused properly but this was taking it next level.
“Awh” he cooed, pinching your nipples slightly earning a hiss from you “Did my sweet girl not know she could squirt?”
“Could what?!”
He laughed, but there was a definite edge to it “Now. How do you feel about making good on those promises you made earlier, hm?”
Trouble In Paradise (Yuzuru Hanyu x Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: "I was thinking of figure skater!reader x Yuzuru Hanyu, where they are dating and doing Fantasy on Ice. One night, where reader is especially exhausted she gets into an argument with him. During the following show, the audience and fellow skaters notice that something is wrong especially after she gave up her place as the first jumper at the end to Evgenia when Alina wanted to do it and she tried to stay as far away from Yuzuru the whole show when he tried to make amend with her. Later that night, they reconcile. The next day, it was in every news that reader prefers Evgenia over Alina and was in conflict with Yuzuru. So reader has to make an official "apology" to explain that she was exhausted" - @thehappygrungelife
A/N: this is actually my first request from Tumblr and I'm very grateful to the person who asked for a request and I really hope I do it a justice
Warning: angst + fluff (happy ending), some cursing and heated argument
It was another day of practice for FaOI (Fantasy on Ice) and for some reason, you were not in your best shape. You would constantly be off beat compared to others and even when it was your turn to practice your performance, it was all but good; it wasn't even near your "ok" performance.
Okay, maybe it wasn't because you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. The other day you've been pushing yourself quite hard and it was the first day of your period. To top it off? The only thing your boyfriend, Yuzu did was telling you that it'll be alright and one bad day won't do any harm since everyone has those days.
I mean, who could blame him, practice isn't always easy when you're not into it. The whole entire day, you just prayed that practice would be over as soon as possible but of course, the more you want time to go by, the longer it actually is.
After what feels like days, practice was finally over and you were all dismissed to go back to your hotel. But despite feeling rough, you decided to wait for Yuzu since you just wanted to sulk and complain to him. But when you saw Yuzu talking with other female skaters, you decided to just leave in your grumpy state.
Throughout the rest of the day, you kept on ignoring all the notifications you got from Yuzu. Every message, every phone call, you ignored them all. Until you heard a knock on the door to your hotel room. Thinking it was the room service you ordered but it turns out to be a not pleased Yuzu.
"Where were you? I've called you so many times. Did you even check your phone?!" Yuzu questioned, his tone was immediately an octave higher
"It was charging. I'm trying to not look at my phone too much. It stresses me out" you shrugged, going back to your bed and looking at your laptop
"What's the difference with your laptop then?! You know what, never mind. Do you know how worried I was?! I thought something happened to you" Yuzu sighed, stress combing his hair
"Oh, now you noticed. I'm fine. Thanks for asking. You should head back and rest. Our show is literally tomorrow" you mentioned, not looking away from your laptop
"What's with you? Did something happen? Did someone hurt you?!" Yuzu started to get worried
"Nothing much. Just another tiring day. I'm serious Yuzu, just go. You need your rest too" you replied, sighing
"Why? Why are you pushing me away?! We barely talked today" Yuzu complained
"I'm just tired and on my period. Can we please not have this conversation. I don't want to lash out at you" you sighed, getting up from the bed
"Why? Why would you lash out? C'mon, let's just talk. I'm worried about you" Yuzu mentioned, taking your hands in his
"Why don't you just go back to the other skaters. I really am not in the mood to talk. Just go" you groaned, letting your hands go
"This talk isn't over (Y/N). You can be mad at me but we still have to talk it through. Get some rest, alright?" Yuzu sighed in defeat, leaving you in your room
Oh how you wish you could just make the whole week go by as fast as Thanos' snap. But, like it or not, you just have to face it and get through cause eventually it'll all be over.
Unfortunately, the other skaters and even the audience knew that something was wrong. Your typical bubbly and enthusiastic self was nowhere to be seen. Sure, you managed to perform your skating until the end, but it seems something was off. Your expression didn't lie.
What threw it off even more is when you were supposed to be the first jumper before the closing but you decided to let Zhenya do it, telling her that you weren't feeling well and your period cramps were acting up more than the usual and because Zhenya was the closest to you.
After the performance was over, there were many words going around and the media started to bring up some news about you preferring Zhenya over Alina to do the first jump. When the news started to blow up, Yuzu was the first to try to find you and talk about why you did what you did; not only that, he also wanted to talk about why you've been avoiding him since last night and even during the whole event.
However, the second the staff told everyone to go backstage, you were the first to leave the stage because your period cramps were getting unbearable and you quickly excused to be able to go back to the hotel on your own, trying to get away from the media who were plastering questions to why you decided to give your first jump spot to Zhenya.
Over on Yuzu's side, his eyes were traced on you throughout the whole show. Especially when you gave up your first jump spot for someone else when you normally are enthusiastic to do it. When Yuzu saw you quickly going backstage, he didn't hesitate to follow you. Calling out for you and asking you to talk but he lost sight of you and you eventually went out of the room before he could get to you, sparking another drama for the media.
Throughout the rest of the day, you just shut any kind of way for people to contact you and just passed out since the period cramps were getting to you. You didn't know how long you've been sleeping until you heard several, no, multiple knocks on your door that could probably be heard throughout the floor you were staying.
Grunting, you finally woke up and headed towards the door, opening it and revealed Yuzu, your boyfriend and the person you honestly don't really want to talk to but at the same time, relieved that it was him instead of someone else. Sighing, you knew that you were going to have the talk sooner or later. So, you finally let him in, telling him that you just woke up.
"Before you ask anything. I just woke up" you mentioned, closing the door as Yuzu came in
"What happened? Are you sick? You didn't seem too well. If you were sick, you could've said so instead of pushing yourself and not putting on your best performance" Yuzu started to lecture
"Yuzu..." you mumbled
"Like honestly. I was worried. We're all worried about you but you kept pushing us away" Yuzu argued
"Yuzu!! Stop!!" you raised your voice back
"No. Look, I get it if you're tired but that doesn't mean you should just push people away" Yuzu argued back
"YUZURU HANYU!! I SAID. STOP IT" you shouted, stunning Yuzu since he never saw you this angry
"Please. I'm already tired from a stressful week and my period just came yesterday and the cramps were unbearable even when I've taken medication" you sighed, plopping back on your bed as Yuzu follows you
"Not only that. I was hoping to be able to have a night of just the both of us yesterday but you were talking to other skaters and I don't want to seem so clingy or anything. I also don't want to be mad at you since my mood swings during my period is not the greatest. But guess the media thought otherwise" you explained
"Hey, hey, look at me. Why didn't you say anything? No one would've ever thought something like that, hmm? Especially me. You're not clingy at all. I actually like it you know. Makes me feel more loved and wanted. It's actually one of the things I like about you. What bout letting Zhenya jump first? Was it also because of your period?" Yuzu softly asked, holding your hands in his as he kneeled in front of you
"Yea. And Zhenya was the closest to me. I swear there's no hate going around or anything" you replied, sighing
"Alright. Let's not worry about that. We can deal with the media tomorrow. I'm just glad that you're alright. Please tell me whenever you don't feel well or if something doesn't sit right with you, okay? No matter what reason it is. No matter if you think it's silly, I want to hear about it. We're in this together. Whatever your problem is, it's my problem too and I want to help you" Yuzu reminded, holding your hand tightly in his
"Okay. I'm sorry for making you and everyone else worry" you mumbled
"It's alright. Just don't hide anything from me anymore okay? Now let's just rest. I'll help you deal with the media tomorrow, hmm?" Yuzu mentioned, pressing a gentle kiss on your forehead
"Are you staying?" you murmured, looking into his eyes
"If you want me to. If not, I'll just stay until you're asleep" Yuzu replied, patting your head
"You can stay. I don't feel like I'll be able to sleep anytime soon since I did just take a long nap" you mentioned
"Alright. Then I'll stay here to comfort you. Let's just watch a film, hmm? I'll order some room service" Yuzu mentioned, going over to the phone to call for room service but you stopped him
"Thank you, Yuzu. I really am lucky to have you" you smiled, looking at Yuzu with eyes full of love
"And I am too. I'm thankful to have you as well. Thankful that you're able to make me warmer and more open to others" Yuzu giggled, taking your hand and kissing it
In the end, the both of you just cuddled up in your bed and watched some movies to end the night, thanking the universe for bringing the both of you together. Because, in the end of the day, no matter what difficult situations you may face, with the right person, you can get through it.
A/N: @thehappygrungelife I hope that I did your request a justice and hope that you like it :)
synopsis: Parenting in general? Hard. Parenting while your husband Jungkook is away on tour? Extra hard.
special thank you to @justasparkwritings for beta reading this and @moccahobi for helping me with the title!
--♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡--
It had been 2 weeks since Jungkook had left on tour. You would think that after being in the industry for 10 years he would have a little more leniency with his schedule, but even after the birth of your little girl, Jungkook couldn’t seem to get out of a 3 week tour around Japan and Korea.
It seemed like the Earth was weeping with you today as the rain battered against your window while you made what seemed like your 15th cup of coffee for the day. Your daughter Gidae was for once not crying - and you were eternally grateful since it gave you time to change out of your puke-covered shirt and close your eyes for 5 seconds... as if that was any replacement for the lack of sleep you’ve encountered.
All your friends whose husbands were busy idols or businessmen gave you the advice that “everything falls into place over time when you’re parenting on your own”. That it just magically happened. You’re not sure what memo you missed, or if there’s some book you forgot to read, or if worst of all, you lacked some parental intuition that everyone else possessed. Jungkook had left 13 days ago, and nothing had fallen into place.
Between Gidae being up all night every night, the pile of puke covered laundry sitting in a pile in the corner of your room, the dirty dishes in the sink that had accumulated to the point that you were eating your microwave meals with plastic cutlery, you definitely felt like a failure.
And probably the worst part of it all was that Jungkook wasn’t here to help you. This wasn’t the first time Jungkook left on tour while you two have been together, but it was the first time he had left you since Gidae had been born. The first time he had left you, a first time mother, alone with your child for an extended period of time. The first time you needed help and couldn’t ask him for it.
As if on command, while you were bracing yourself on the counter in exhaustion, your phone began to ring.
Incoming call: hubby kook ♡
As you pressed “accept call”, you could immediately heard the hustle and bustle of the backstage crowd. Too tired to be the first to say hello, you waited to see how long it would take for him to realize you were on the other line.
“Hey Y/N, just checking in before the show! How are things?” cheered Jungkook.
You could imagine what Jungkook looked like as he talked to you: already dressed in his first stage outfit, a makeup artist blotting away at the nervous sweat on his forehead, him grinning ear to ear with his hyungs and bursting with excitement for performing.
On a normal day, if you had maybe actually gotten some sleep or eaten at least one meal that didn’t come out of your freezer in the past week, you probably could have mustered a convincing “good! How’s the show going?” But you were on your last straw, and it was already giving way.
“Bad Jungkook. It’s bad. I haven’t slept at all for as long as I can remember. I have no clean clothes or clean dishes, I haven’t showered since you left so I smell like a pungent mixture of puke, sweat, and god knows what else, and Gidae misses you and won’t stop crying.So yes, it’s horrible without you here.”
You knew that wasn’t what Jungkook expected to hear,the sharp intake of breath on his side serving as a telltale sign you had caught him off guard.
“Baby I-, I’m sorry, I had no idea.”
You couldn’t stop your voice from cracking as you continued. Your chest was tightening, feelings bubbling over.
“It’s -“ you paused to take a breath. “It’s really hard without you Jungkook. Really really hard.”
Jungkook tried his best to piece together the words over the phone, but you could already hear the speakers in the background calling for Jungkook to head to his position for the start of the show.
“Y/N I-“
“You have to go Jungkook, I know. Bye.”
You didn’t give him a second to recuperate as you ended the call.
No parenting book ever provided you with advice on this. The loneliness, helplessness, and frustration you were feeling right now. Crumpling down to the kitchen floor, you felt like the world was collapsing around you as you sobbed.
As if on cue, Gidae’s cries joined yours from the other room.
--♡--
You woke up slouched in a rocking chair in the nursery, with your hand reaching down to touch your daughter’s in her crib. She seemed to show you some leniency by sleeping more than 2 hours at a time, but unsure of how much free time she’d give you, you figured you might as well get a head start of the day since you felt like you were miserably falling behind already.
While mixing some formula in your kitchen, you heard a knock on your front door. The only people who ever came over were the boys and a couple of your friends, and you definitely weren’t expecting any visitors at 8am.
Frying pan clutched in your hand (safety first, right?), you creaked open your door to see a small woman standing in front of you.
With a cheery smile painting her face, the lady began to speak.
“Mrs. Jeon, I’m Seokjin-ssi’s nanny. I’ve been sent here today to take care of Gidae. Here’s a note from Mr. Jeon.”
Tumblr media
You couldn’t help the smile that decorated your face after reading it. After so many years together, Jungkook still managed to surprise you. Taking in that there was now a woman in your house who was basically Supernanny here to help you, you couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
When Jungkook said that you were going to be pampered today, he sure meant it. By a “car” being outside, he actually meant a glorious Porsche with a driver and all your favorite snacks tucked in the backseat. He had booked an entire spa day just for you to get whatever treatments you needed without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of anyone else being around. Simply being in an environment that didn’t always sound like crying and children’s TV shows felt like heaven. A schedule had been waiting when you arrived, including a built in “nap” (multiple hours is just sleep, right?) in one of their private suits and lunch with none other than your best friend. It was the best surprise, and the girl talk you shared was exactly what you needed. Of course the mom guilt crept in, but whenever it did you reminded yourself of Jungkook’s words - you needed this, and only once you take care of yourself will you really be able to take care of your daughter.
You weren’t sure if it was because of the hydrating face mask or the 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep that you were able to get, but you walked into your house with a new pep in your step thanks to the relaxing day that Jungkook planned for you.
Welcomed by Ms. Yeong wearing an apron and bustling around your kitchen, you smelled freshly baked cookies (chocolate chip, your favorite too) and were thrilled at the sight of a clean house in front of you.
Wiping her hands on her apron, she began to speak with that signature smile.
“I’ve cooked dinner for you tonight and also have meals for the next 3 days in the fridge. The dishes are all done and your laundry should all be folded in your drawers. Gidae just had some milk and is now watching some Cocomelon.She woke up from her nap around 3 hours ago.”
In your excitement you couldn’t help giving her the biggest hug, squeezing her tightly. Slowly, Ms.Yeong began to pat your back, unclear about whether this hug was really for you or for her.
“I’m just doing my job Mrs. Jeon.”
You pulled away to look sincerely into her eyes.
“You are seriously a lifesaver Ms.Yeong, I don’t know what I would have done without you.”
After patting your back again, it was her turn to be sincere.
“You’re a good mother, Mrs. Jeon. I know it may not feel like it sometimes, but you really are. Gidae is lucky to have you as a mom.”
Tears began to prick at your eyes, but unlike yesterday, these were happy tears. With all the failures that you had felt in the past two weeks, it meant everything to hear those words from someone, to get some confirmation that you weren’t completely messing things up.
Unable to make any words come out of your mouth, all you could do was nod in appreciation at what she was able to do for you today. Your eyes glimmering with unshed tears said all the words that Ms.Yeong needed to hear.
As she walked out the door, you made a mental note to message Seokjin and thank him for finding the angel on Earth who saved you today.
--♡--
Picking up your daughter from her crib, you cooed and brought her to you. Settling into your rocking chair, you cradled her gently in her arms.
“Mommy missed you today, babygirl, and I know you miss daddy.”
At the mention of the word “daddy” you could see your daughter perk up, looking around and trying to find said male.
All you could do is kiss her forehead. “I miss your daddy too. He’s really amazing, yknow.”
“Amazing, really? I may have said handsome, or sexy, or...”
Your head whipped around to the source of the sound.
And there he was, in the flesh. Jeon Jungkook, the man you had been waiting to see for days on end, was standing right at the door.
“Hi my love,” he said with his silly grin.
Your heart felt like it was bursting as you saw him there, and you couldn’t help but start sobbing your heart out (and I mean ugly sobbing). You felt a waterfall of emotions seeing Jungkook so close.
“Hey hey hey, what’s with this crying? I came home because I didn’t want you to be crying anymore baby.”
Walking over to you, he crouched in front of your chair and started to wipe your tears. Cupping your face in his hands, he pressed his forehead against you.
“I missed you Y/N. I missed you so much.”
You were still reeling from Jungkook’s presence.
“You have no idea how much I’ve dreamed about this Kook. I feel like I’m dreaming.”
Jungkook pressed a short kiss on your lips.
“Well believe it, I’m here for real babe,” he said sentimentally as he peppered your face with kisses.
Picking your daughter out of your grasp, Jungkook lifted Gidae into his hold, lifting her slightly into the air first to make her giggle. Putting on his best stern dad voice, he began his lecture.
“And you little miss, what is this I hear about you causing trouble for your mom?” Questioned Jungkook.
You smiled through your tears as you watched Jungkook go into “dad mode”.
“Before I left you promised you’d be a good girl, but I think good girls don’t cry all through the night and they definitely don’t make a mess with their toys or throw up all over their mommy.”
As Jungkook raised an eyebrow, your daughter looked at him, slightly apologetic, eyes shifting down to the floor, as if she could understand a word of what he said.
“But most of all Gidae, I missed you a whole lot. Your daddy missed you a whole lot.”
You felt like your heart could burst at the way Jungkook looked at your daughter. Even though he might be miles away when he works, you know that he doesn’t love you or your daughter any less.
“I’ll let you put her back to bed, daddy. It is my day off after all, right?” You joked with a chuckle.
Picking up your hand and kissing your palm, Jungkook grinned in agreement.
“Of course my love, go wash up and I’ll see you in bed.”
--♡--
After reading A Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Princess & the Pea, and Rainbow Fish, Gidae was beginning to yawn in Jungkook’s arms. It seemed that it wasn’t just Jungkook who was reluctant to let their father-daughter time come to an end, as Gidae was still fighting to keep her eyes open, and always kept one tiny fist clutched onto the middle of Jungkook’s shirt, as if she was worried he could disappear at any moment.
Wondering what was taking them so long, you peeked your head back in the doorway to watch Jungkook look at your daughter like she was the one who put the stars in the sky. Not wanting to interrupt, you stayed as silent as possible as you watched them together.
“Now I’m gonna say something very important Gidae, and you need to listen very very carefully to me.”
Bringing her up to eye level, Jungkook looked at your daughter sincerely as he continued.
“Sometimes daddy isn’t here and it’s just you and mommy, but I want you to know that daddy loves you and mommy so much, and you’re always gonna be daddy’s little girl, even if I’m not here with you. And I miss you always, so so much. Daddy loves you.”
You could see the tears start to stream down Jungkook’s face, and as much as you wanted to run to him and wipe his tears, just as he did hours earlier, you knew that this moment wasn’t for you. This was for Jungkook and Gidae, and you were sure that he was going to remember this forever.
“You know what would make me so happy Gidae? If you could say the word daddy. Come on - “da” “da”. You can do it!”
He started to bounce her on his lap, exaggerating his mouth movements so much that you were worried that he would accidentally pop his jaw out. His ministrations continued on fruitlessly, with Gidae still staring at him with big doe eyes (a trait she inherited from Jungkook, of course).
Unable to hide your presence any longer, you had to help Jungkook out. “You were only gone for 2 weeks, Kook. She’s still only 6 months old, it’s going to be a little while before she says any words.”
Jungkook shook his head in disbelief. It seemed that Gidae had finally succumbed to sleep in his arms, and he stared down at her again.
“Look at how big she is Y/N, she’s grown so much just in the little while I’ve been gone.”
He looked at you with tears shimmering in his doe eyes yet again.
“Seriously, next time I leave on a tour and come back she’s going to be walking and talking or something.” joked Jungkook as he lightly wiped his tears.
You hugged Jungkook from behind, pressing a kiss to his shoulder before resting your head on it.
“Wherever you are though babe, I’m gonna take photos and videos of all of it so you won’t miss a second of it.”
Jungkook stayed silent as he simply enjoyed having his small family together again.
“You were right earlier you know, on the phone.”
“Hmm?” You hummed in response, unsure of what he was getting at.
“This isn’t working - me leaving isn’t working. I’m not 15 years old anymore, when I could just drop everything and travel the world; I have the two most precious girls in the world with me now, and I need to take care of them.”
Putting his hand in yours, you sincerely looked him in the eye.
“We’re always going to be proud of you Koo, and you know I love watching you do what you love. This may be the hard part, once she gets a little older we could start travelling with you or you could fly back too. Whatever comes our way, we’ll handle it together.”
Jungkook kissed you passionately, hoping his lips could convey what he couldn’t seem to put into words. He repeated your words back to you.
“Whatever comes our way, we’ll handle it together.”
As if Mother Nature was on your side, the rain stopped, leaving the smell of new beginnings wafting in through your window.
This one is close to my heart - took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to write about Oberyn, this is an au, we are not in Westeros because I wouldn't even know how the hell to jump into that world but I hope you like it.
Oberyn Martell x F!Reader (GOT's AU)
Pairing: Oberyn x F!Reader
Word Count: 10K (sorry bout it)
Warnings: **TRIGGER WARNING** Deals with grief (readers husband / Elia's death) Reader is a widow, deals with loss and depression / fluffy parent stuff, yearning, language, Smut 18+, PIV sex (wrap it up), dirty talk **pregnancy**
Masterlist
--------
You could almost feel his arms around you, could almost feel his voice in your ear telling you he loved you. It always made waking up so hard.
Your son was up though and that meant the end of your time with him. It felt like it had been forever since he passed away, and it also felt like it had happened yesterday. Especially on the days when you dreamt about him.
You missed him fiercely. You felt his loss so strongly, it was like an ache that nothing could relieve. Everything in you wanted to lay in bed and conjure up happy memories but your son needed you.
Lately it seemed like he was the only thing keeping you out of bed.
“Good morning little love.” Your smile for him was genuine. You couldn’t help it when he gave you those little grabby hands.
Your son looked like you, everyone said so. Spitting image absolutely - but every so often you would look at him and see your husband staring back at you and that hurt so much more than you wanted to admit.
You tried to focus on your son, he was babbling happily as you got him ready for his first day at daycare. You had been praying fiercely that he would get a spot before your maternity leave was up. You couldn’t afford to stay home longer than was necessary and in order to be able to afford the spot you were praying for you needed to go back to work. It was a vicious cycle.
You had applied to a few in your area and until last week it had been a steady stream of -unfortunately we have no space at this time- until you found Elias. It was a smaller, more “hands on” daycare but it’s the only option you had within budget.
You would have preferred to send your son to Casterly Rock Child Care but not only could you not afford it, there were never any spots. It was like trying to get your son into private school. Once you were back at work and making your regular salary you could make it work. If he ever got in that is, for now however - it would have to be Elias.
You wanted to get him used to daycare before you went back to work, the thought of leaving him there bawling for you would have meant a horrific first day back. Better to get him accustomed, the lady you had spoken to said that you could start him as early as this week, and you agreed.
“Come on little man, are you ready? You’re going to meet so many other kids! Isn’t that exciting?” He giggled at your happy tone and the sound was always like a balm, his happiness was your happiness. You got his diaper bag ready with everything he’d need and set off.
————
The walk to the daycare had been nice, the fact that it was so close was a big bonus. The daycare seemed to be a big home, the lower level of which had been converted in order to separate the living quarters upstairs. You walked into the foyer and immediately saw a huge portrait of a beautiful young woman.
In loving memory of Elia Martell, this Daycare was opened in her honour
She must have died young, you knew that pain. Your heart went out to her family.
You surveyed the space, it looked intensely homey, there was a big unit packed with kids shoes and bags, big cubbies with names written on them. A big community notice board filled with flyers and local news.
There were sunflowers everywhere, the whole space was bathed in a yellow glow that made it look like part of the sun was stashed away. The brightness of it was lovely, and it shooed away the fear you had at being separated from your son slightly. You had a good feeling about this place.
A woman came at the sound of the door with a big smile on her face. Her gauzy dress floating behind her as she walked over to you excitedly as you got your son out of his stroller. You couldn’t help but smile back at her - she seemed so friendly.
“Good morning! I’m Ellaria, I believe we spoke over the phone.” She hugged you tightly and her openness shocked you, but you quickly recovered and smiled back at her, introducing yourself formally. She looked down at your son and waved at him.
“It’s nice to meet you Ellaria, this is Mylo.” You turned Mylo to face her and she cooed happily at him. He seemed taken with her and you definitely could not blame him. She exuded a calming maternal energy, and she looked like a goddess.
“Hello Mylo, aren’t you just the most handsome little man, may I?” She looked to you for permission before reaching for him. You hesitated slightly but relented. It was better to know now how much crying you’d have to deal with. She took him with grace and bounced him as she held him tight to chest.
“Yes you are such a handsome boy, my girls are going to love you.” She spoke into his hair and it made you happy to see her be so tender with him. You felt better about this place by the second.
“Please be welcome, I’ll give you a tour so you can feel better about leaving him here.” She spoke over her shoulder, urging you to follow. So far no crying - this is good.
You walked through to the back of the house to find a big open room, a mountain of toys stacked neatly in one corner. The main play area was closed off with a wooden gate to keep the little ones from roaming out of sight. There was a row of little cots in another corner for nap time, as well as a long table filled with high chairs and a bench for the bigger kids. You could tell kids liked it here. It was still early enough that only a few children were there by now and by the look of them they were Ellaria’s own, they looked just like her.
“We let the children enjoy their time however they choose, we let them colour or play - they can paint or do puzzles. The only thing we don’t let them do is watch tv. They socialize better without sitting in front of a screen. We don’t separate them by age and encourage them to play or learn together. Elia, watch your sisters while I finish the tour.”
She spoke to a girl that seemed to be in her teens before guiding you outside.
“On nice sunny days we bring the children outside, to play in the water gardens, or in the sand. I forgot to mention it over the phone. If you’re not comfortable with Mylo playing in the water he can be kept in the shade.” She smiled, the yard was huge and for a kid it would be paradise. It was essentially a massive in ground kiddie pool with fountains, you could already see Mylo sitting in the water and splashing around excitedly.
“No it’s okay, I can pack him some beach diapers, he’s like a fish this one so he’ll love it here. I’ll get him some sunscreen too and a hat or something so he can be outside.” You smiled imagining his chubby little legs in the water.
“Perfect, that would be lovely I’m sure he’ll be very happy here, won’t you Mylo.” She bounced him a little and he giggled. It was both a relief and an annoyance that he took to this woman so quickly. You pushed that thought away, this is a blessing and you’re projecting your insecurities.
“I’m really glad you gave me the tour Ellaria thank you. I feel much better about leaving him now.” You were sincere, you knew in your heart this woman would care for your child just as well as you would.
“Oh yes he’ll be happy here, my girls will fight over him I can see it now - and I just know Oberyn will love him.” She had a tiny bit of an accent and her voice was lovely, you could listen to her talk all day. “Okay little one let’s get you inside and settled so mama can go about her day hm?” She led you back inside and placed Mylo into the enclosure with a bunch of colourful blocks to distract him. Just like she had predicted - her girls came over instantly to fawn over him and he loved the attention.
“Thanks so much- I’ll be back at around 5:30 to pick him up. I packed him some extra clothes, his pacifier, diapers, rash cream just in case. Everything I thought he’d need- nap time for him is usually around eleven and if he gets fussy he has his blanket in here.” You showed her and she nodded, taking his bag from you.
“No problem, have a great day, we’ll see you later.” You felt good about leaving him there - seeing him happy and distracted with Ellaria’s girls. You managed to make it all the way home before the tears came.
—-
You took the time away from Mylo to be in bed. You’d wanted to lay and do nothing for so long, imagining it would feel better than it did. It never did.
It was silent in your house which was new, no tv, no baby noises, no crying. Just you and the ghost of your husband. An empty bed reminding you of his absence. You laid there in the quiet, aside from the sounds of cars outside your window, seeing your gauzy curtains fluttering in the slight breeze. Dustmotes dancing on the little light you allowed in.
You were glad then that Mylo wasn’t around, that he has a happy place with other children, just the thought of him splashing around in the water and being around Ellaria’s energy made you feel a little better. You had to try harder.
You couldn’t let your grief overwhelm you, you couldn’t let it get in the way of being a good mom. You had to be better for Mylo. For yourself, but it was hard, it was hard to celebrate Mylos firsts without him. When Mylo crawled for the first time you were a wreck for days. When he first laughed, you cried. All of his firsts were daggers to your heart and it wasn’t fair to him.
These milestones which should have been met with joy and excitement, were often met with misery and tears and that had to stop. You vowed that it would, but not today.
Today was for laying in bed in silence.
——-
You ended up getting there a little earlier than you thought to pick up Mylo and you half expected chaos but the children were well behaved. They were playing happily in little groups of twos and threes. Blocks and puzzles, barbies and dolls. So many activities going on at once. Mylo was sitting in a high chair with his back facing you, someone was feeding him something but you couldn’t see them from where you were.
“You’re early! Look Mylo- mamas here!” Ellaria had more energy than you’d seen in women half her age. It was inspiring, truly.
“Your son is a delight. He’s a lovely boy and very well behaved.” You saw his face poke out from behind the high chair then, a handsome man who looked to be in his late 30’s or early 40’s. His smile was infectious.
“I’m so glad to hear he was well behaved.” You spoke truthfully, you were a little worried he’d be fussy all day.
“A perfect little gentleman weren’t you Mylo?” He spoke with such affection, these people were truly suited for this work.
“Hey little man, what are you eating?” You came around to see him and he perked up to hear your voice, his little hands making the grabby signal you loved so much.
“My sincerest apologies if I’m spoiling his dinner, he saw me eating berries and he practically took them out of my hands.” He smiled warmly down at the baby, he was eating the berries happily, juice and seeds smeared all over his face.
“That’s okay, I’m here early anyway, dinner won’t be for a little while and he loves berries. Don’t you little man?” He made the grabby hands again and ignored the mush.
“Okay little one let’s get you cleaned up so you can go home.” Oberyn grabbed some wipes and began carefully getting him somewhat clean. You couldn’t help but notice how handsome he was, his greying hair did nothing to take away from his allure. If anything it made him look distinguished. He got Mylo decently clean, anything he missed would be taken care of at bath time. He barely finished because Mylo got impatient and cried out for you.
“It’s okay I’m here, let’s get you ready.” You thanked him - he had beautiful brown eyes.
It shocked you that you even thought about how attractive Oberyn was. You hadn’t even thought about another man since you got married, and even less so after your husband died. It was a little distressing but you imagined that it was bound to happen eventually. Another first.
You heard a little girl then, no older than six or seven run up to him and call him dad, she looked just like Ellaria and then it clicked. Of course they would be together. That should have been obvious. They had the same slight lilt in their speech- obviously they had come from the same place. You felt a little foolish then, not knowing exactly why.
“See you tomorrow Mylo.” He called out to him, turning to you after to offer you his hand. “It was lovely to meet you, see you tomorrow.” He shook your hand in his big warm ones.
---
“Good morning! Hi Mylo, are you ready to get bombarded by my daughters today?” Oberyn greeted you at the entrance the next day. He stood in a mustard yellow shirt and linen trousers, he looked like the human version of a sun-god and you had to remember to reign in your thoughts; It was very difficult when he smiled at the both of you. Ellaria came at the sound and you felt chastened somehow.
“Good morning! It’s lovely to see you both.” She smiled and Mylo giggled at her. She took him without hesitation from his stroller and it surprised you how comfortable you were with it. He definitely liked her which was a bonus, she held him tightly and he grabbed playfully at her long curls.
Oberyn stood beside the big portrait of the woman you learned was Elia, you saw the resemblance between them then and your heart wilted slightly. He noticed and looked where your gaze was focused. The smile changed, from an open friendliness, to a sad fondness.
“My sister.” he said softly, the pain was evident.
“I’m so sorry, the grief must be immense.” you meant every word, you knew it to be true.
“It is, but it makes me happy to have this place in her honour. I miss her very much.” He spoke with a fondness that wrapped itself around your heart. You still couldn’t talk about your husband and it had been over a year.
“She is with us in spirit my love.” Ellaria put her head on his shoulder and he hugged her warmly. It felt like you were intruding on a beautiful private family moment, even your son looked like he belonged with them. He made the grabby hands at Oberyn - that hurt more than you could have thought. Another first.
“Yes, you and I are going to have fun in the sand today right?” Mylo giggled at the excited faces Oberyn made and it all seemed so natural, so practised - you had to leave. You were suffocating and the tears were coming fast and heavy. You hurriedly kissed Mylos head as they fell and practically ran out the door. This was looking like another day in bed.
You hadn’t made it home before your cell phone was ringing - the name of the daycare centre lit up on the caller id. You took a couple of deep breaths to settle yourself before answering, you were so embarrassed.
“Hello?” You managed to hold back the sniffle.
“Hello dove, I wanted to make sure you’re okay - please let me know if we did anything to make you uncomfortable.” It was Ellaria and her voice sounded so sincere and worried that it compounded the embarrassment. You felt your face grow hot at what they must think of you.
“Hi - yes, I’m sorry about that. I’m so ashamed no no please it was nothing to do with you guys. I’m happy Mylo is with you. He seemed so happy.” You tried to keep your voice neutral but a crack managed to sneak through while the tears fell. You knew she heard you then. She was quiet for a moment.
“Are you sure?” She prodded gently, you took in her meaning. She was asking far more than she was saying with words.
“Yes - thank you Ellaria - I’ll see you at 5:30pm - have a great day.” You hung up before she could hear you falling apart.
--
When you got home you felt hopeless. Would this ever get better? You were so exhausted - it always felt like if you just got a full day of sleep it would clear. The cotton in your brain would finally disappear. It never did, but it didn’t stop you from trying.
You could smell him then, feel his arms around you and it did more to calm you than all the sleep in the world. In the back of your mind you knew this was a dream, but he was here and that’s all that mattered.
You can’t keep doing this to yourself.
He spoke into your hair and you could feel it, you felt the air leave his lungs, he felt sturdy wrapped around you in the nameless place you could only ever find in dreams.
Don’t leave me again - please I can’t do this without you. You knew this couldn’t last and you already dreaded waking up.
I’m already gone. He was slipping away.
How could a dream be so incredibly cruel?
---
The weeks leading up to your return to work went by in a blur, you had too much free time and you seemed to spend every single second of it in bed. Constantly chasing the dreams with him.
When Mylo was home it was easier to focus on him and push your grief away, if only for a little while. He was doing well at the daycare, he was happy to see everyone every morning and it made you ashamed to think that they were better suited to care for him than you were.
You were a dark cloud in this happy baby’s life. You had to get better.
---
The first week back at work was difficult to say the least. The first few days especially.
It was hard to concentrate, you were fatigued and your heart was absolutely not in it. You pushed through though, using Mylo to get you through it. You thought about how happy he was to see you whenever you got to the daycare; Ellaria had told you he was thriving and she was certain his first steps would be any day now. That was a double edged sword but you focused on the good. You desperately hoped it would happen at home and not at the daycare, even though you knew you could never truly be sure.
She was right - it happened three days later. He was standing holding onto the high chair when he turned to you and took a couple of shaky steps. You squealed happily and ran to get your phone, you wanted to show Ellaria. You managed to get him to walk a few steps on camera and you were just thinking how excited the two of them would be to see it when you realized the usual sadness didn’t creep in right away. You tried to shake it away and focused on the joy of your baby boy stumbling his way into being a toddler.
---
“Oberyn! Come look! I knew it, see I told you I could smell your first steps little one.” She beamed at him as she called Oberyn to come see the video you excitedly showed her.
“My goodness look at him, so confident! He’ll be running circles around us soon.” He watched the video with such pride - you could almost imagine he was getting excited for his own child. It was lovely to see.
“I was so happy I had to get it on video to show you.” You spoke to him with a big smile. You noticed the look Ellaria gave you as you spoke to Oberyn, it was a curious look. She looked at you with what could only be described as tenderness. She grabbed your arm in hers and pulled you over to separate you. You were almost scared that she had gotten the wrong idea and was going to scold you but that was crazy, nothing had happened.
“It is lovely to see you smile Dove, I know there is something going on, a sadness. You don’t have to explain, but if you need anything, anything at all - please don’t hesitate to give me a call. This is my number. I mean it - any time. Even if you just want to come for tea on the weekend. You are both welcome here always.” She held onto your arm reassuringly and you felt the sincerity in her words. No jealousy, no animosity, pure love. You managed to keep your emotions in check when you thanked her, truly thanked her for her kindness.
“Okay little man I’ll see you later, have fun and don’t drive everyone crazy.” You kissed him on the forehead as Oberyn held him and the three of you said your goodbyes.
--
It was the little things you noticed at first.
You noticed yourself getting up earlier on the weekends, you woke up before Mylo more often than not which was new. You still had a few bad days scattered here and there but the ratio of bad to good had changed drastically. You caught yourself singing as you cooked a few times and that really shocked you.
When your husband was alive you sang all the time - you never thought you were any good and your husband used to tease you but it was just something you did. You hadn’t done it since he died but every once in a while it bubbled up.
You noticed yourself taking a little bit more care with how you dressed, with your hair, your make-up.
When you had first gone back to work you did the bare minimum. Your clothes and hair were clean, that was as much as you could commit to. Over the last couple of months though you found yourself taking a little more time and a little more pride in your appearance. It felt good to see little glimpses of the woman you used to be, peek her head out more and more.
—-
The thought of Mylos biggest first was weighing heavy on your mind, his first birthday. You thought it best to ask Ellaria, you knew she’d be able to help you throw a little something together - Mylo had grown really close to her girls and you wanted them to be included. She reacted just the way you thought she might when you mentioned it to her.
“Oh but you must celebrate it here! We can throw him a little picnic outside!” She was so excited but you didn’t want to impose.
“You don’t have to do that Ellaria it’s okay, I want to include your girls though, Mylo loves them so much.” You didn’t want her to go out of her way, she did so much for you already.
“Oh nonsense, please indulge me - the weathers been so nice the kids can play in the water gardens! Will you say yes?” She was a hell of a charmer, Oberyn lent his voice to hers and you had no choice.
“Oh yes it must be here, the both of you can spend the day with us, you’d love that wouldn’t you little one?” He spoke directly to Mylo who was all smiles.
“Fine, but please - don’t go too crazy. I will bring the cake and the food.” You tried to put your foot down but they were having none of it.
“Dove the only thing the two of you are allowed to walk through these doors with is a cake. Allow me to take care of the rest.” She was imperious and did not take no for an answer- you couldn’t help but agree.
—-
It was lovely to see Mylo in their care.
He was all smiles, he thrived here. You always knew he was happy here but it lifted your heart to see him with them. He chased after the girls on his little legs, he screamed in joy at them when they tickled him.
What really affected you though, was seeing Oberyn with him.
Oberyn treated him like one of his own. He lifted him in the air, he made funny faces at him, he responded to his baby babble as though they were deep in conversation.
Your husband had been so excited to be a father when you decided to start trying, you liked to imagine that he would have done the same. Mylo deserved a father like Oberyn.
“Oberyn loves him, they’re thick as thieves those two.” Ellaria was watching them with you.
“Mylo really likes him.” You wanted to say more but what could you say to her?
My son is obsessed with your husband and I wish I could have him for my own?
Where the hell did that thought come from? You didn’t want Oberyn? Sure you were attracted, and seeing him with your son did something to your heart that you couldn’t quite put your finger on but him and Ellaria were clearly together and happy.
Plus you weren’t ready to move on anyway. Regardless of Oberyn's status. You tried your hardest to push it out of your mind - Ellaria noticed your silent inner turmoil and you hoped she didn’t take it the wrong way.
“Can I ask you a personal question, Dove? Please be honest I don’t want to offend you.” She held onto your arm like always, she was a very affectionate person and it always made you feel comfortable.
“Yes of course, ask me.” You felt like you knew what was coming and you tried to brace yourself.
“What happened to Mylo’s father?” She asked gently and you saw that she half expected you to avoid the question.
“He passed away, a month into my pregnancy with Mylo.” It hurt so much to say, but it was also cathartic. She had such a calming energy it helped stem the flow of emotions.
“Oh Dove I’m so sorry, that must have been very hard.” She rubbed your hand in sympathy.
“It was, it still is but I’m getting better. I’ve come a long way, believe it or not.” You laughed, it was self-depreciating. She didn’t join in.
“Yes you have, when you first brought him to us I could see the sadness in you. It was bigger than you and almost swallowed you whole. Lately I see it getting smaller and smaller, that kind of grief never goes away. You have no idea how happy I am to see you doing better.” The tears were coming but they weren’t from sadness for once. They were for her, for her kindness towards you and your son. You loved her dearly in that moment. “No tears today Dove, we are celebrating life.” She wiped them off your face and you agreed silently.
Mylo was so happy splashing around in the water it was infectious and you wiped your tears away. You had to put them away for him.
“Look at you little man!” You cooed at him excitedly and he splashed. You sat at the edge of water, taking your sandals off to put your feet in. Oberyn was in the water with the children, he had a pair of swim shorts on so he could sit with them. Mylo was in heaven. He would run to Oberyn, kicking water up into his face as he went and then would burst into excited laughter at the mock-stern face on his arrival. It was lovely to see.
“Show mama how you splash little one - big splashes!” He turned Mylo to you and he showed you excitedly. You smiled the biggest smile you had in you and he kept going. Your legs were soaked and Oberyn was drenched.
It was the nicest day you’d had in so long. The cake was cut, their girls ran around with Mylo while you drank jasmine tea, the food was absolutely delicious.
Oberyn and Ellaria brought out a big gift for Mylo and you had a tiny fight over it. You were so grateful and annoyed that they’d gone out of their way for him.
“It’s nothing! Stop this it’s his birthday of course we got him a present. Enough I insist. Look, he loves it!” She smiled and you shook your head accepting it gracefully.
“He had to have it, we can keep it here so he can use it every day.” Oberyn helped him onto the brand new tricycle and helped him zoom around.
You ended up being thankful you let her talk you into having his birthday there. It was the right choice.
—-
You found yourself thinking about Oberyn more often than not, and it made you feel terribly guilty. Not just for the memory of your husband but for Ellaria. How could you think of him in any other capacity than the owner of the daycare your son went to?
She was so kind to you and you considered her a friend, it felt like a betrayal for you to think of the father of her children this way. You constantly scolded yourself over it.
It had been months since Mylos birthday and you felt yourself feeling the big cloud of grief start to fade a little bit. You knew it would never really go away, you had a nagging suspicion that you wouldn’t want it to. As bizarre as it sounded, that intense grief somehow made it seem like it was single handedly keeping the memory of your husband alive.
That didn’t make sense, you knew you didn’t need sadness to keep a part of him close, Mylo was it. He was the physical manifestation of the love between you two.
You used that thought like a mantra. Mylo was it, and he deserved to be happy, he deserved a happy mother and a happy childhood, as happy as you could make it.
Your thoughts of Oberyn persisted however. Sometimes you could swear that his eyes lingered. His smile had a little something in it. It was so confusing and maddening, you felt angry for Ellaria but also an excitement that he could possibly find you attractive. That in itself would cause massive amounts of inner turmoil - an incredible guilt that ate away at you each night when you thought about him. About his kind brown eyes, his dimple- the smooth golden skin.
How could you do this to your husband? How could you do this to Ellaria? It was torture.
You ignored it the best you could.
—-
More time passed, work got better as you slowly felt yourself getting lighter, the fog you constantly found yourself stumbling around in was lifting.
Mylo was talking like crazy, he was growing so much and it felt like you were too.
On a particularly good day you decided to not only do your hair and makeup, but you chose to wear one of your favourite summer wrap dresses to work. You were feeling confident when you walked into the daycare with Mylo.
You heard a tiny gasp when you looked up and saw Ellaria giving you a blinding smile. You felt momentarily self conscious and you wanted to hide but she came over and stopped you.
“Dove you look gorgeous! I love this colour on you! Oberyn does she not look absolutely lovely?” Oberyn was standing behind her and you could see the look on his face as he took you in. It was curious, his eyes were bright and he made you flush.
“An absolute vision - you look radiant.” He wasn’t leering at you, but his look felt very intimate and you felt a little awkward. You tried to convey to Ellaria with your eyes that you were definitely not coming onto her husband but she met you with a knowing look and a wink. You had no idea what she could possibly be trying to convey with that wink but you didn’t want to dwell.
Mylo barreled toward Oberyn and he scooped him up, bringing him close to you so you could say goodbye. When he made his way to the playroom with him Ellaria grabbed your attention.
“He thinks you’re very beautiful, and you are.” She spoke in low tones, it felt like you were gossiping.
“Ellaria - please don’t think I -” she raised her arms with a big smile on her face.
“Don’t even try to apologize sweet girl, I know what you must be thinking. Oberyn and I are not together.” She smiled widely at the look of shock on your face.
“You aren’t? But you call each other my love? You have children?” She laughed, not unkindly.
“Oh we love each other dearly, but we aren’t together any more.” She smiled conspiratorially. “We were together for a long time, and we will always love each other, but we are not romantically involved any more and I am not a jealous woman. Never have been. I want him to be happy.” You could see the truth in her eyes and while it was surprising to find out you’d been wrong about them, it was even more surprising when you understood where this conversation was going.
“Are you playing matchmaker right now?” You were shocked, she could see it written clearly across your face. She smiled at your expression.
“Is that something you’d like sweet girl? I’ve seen the way he looks at you.” The shock was astounding - it silenced you outright.
All those months of guilt over your thoughts about Oberyn, of guilt for Ellaria, for your husband.
“I’ve also seen the way you look at him. No don’t give me that look there’s no reason to feel guilty - he’s a very handsome man and I would think you insane if you told me you weren’t attracted to him.” She smiled at the look of shock on your face.
“Ellaria I don’t know if I’m ready, and looks are just looks.” You were blushing, were your feelings really written across your face like this?
“Dove, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, it’s an option. He’s single, you’re single - you are attracted to each other? What’s the harm? He and I are not together and something tells me your husband would want you to be happy. I know it hurts and you have guilt over the possibility of moving on, but you cannot live in pain for the rest of your life. Open yourself up to love, sweet girl. Promise me you’ll think about it? Whatever you decide.” She sent you on your way with a whole mess of thoughts in your head.
--
You thought about Ellaria’s words for a long time, were you actually ready to date again? Every time you imagined going out with someone it filled your heart with an emotion you couldn’t comprehend, let alone define.
There was excitement yes, you couldn’t lie to yourself about your attraction to Oberyn. All of your interactions with him had been chaste and although you thought you’d seen little glimmers of lingering looks, kind words and casual compliments - you took them in stride. You treated them the same way you treated kind words and compliments from Ellaria. They were just exceedingly nice, affectionate people.
Were you even comfortable dating him? Yes Ellaria had given you explicit permission, and you knew it wasn’t in her to lie for your benefit. Would it be awkward going on a date with him knowing he’d talk to her about it after? Did you care about that? You’d talk to her about it - you knew then. You’d answer any question she had.
Your husbands smiling face popped into your head and it was hard to confront it then, the guilt was a pit you constantly seemed to stumble into.
--
You tried to put it out of your mind but it seemed as though Ellaria and Oberyn had discussed it.
“Come Mylo, say goodbye to mama so we can go and play.” She hurried him along and gave you a wink as she left Oberyn and you to speak.
He smiled at you as you put Mylo’s things into his cubby, your heart was racing.
“I was wondering if you would like to grab a coffee with me tonight?” He came out with it. You let out a huge breath you hadn’t even realized you were holding in.
“I really don’t want to come in between the two of you, I know Ellaria said you aren’t together but it still feels like you’re a family.” You blurted the words and half expected him to take his offer back but he smiled warmly.
“I can understand why you would think that. I assure you, we are not romantically involved anymore. If you are comfortable knowing she will always be an important person in my life as my friend, and the mother of my children then my offer stands. I’d very much like to take you out.” His smile was infectious, the ever present guilt was stomped away by something else.
“Yes, okay - coffee tonight.” It felt like your face was on fire.
“Lovely, Ellaria can watch Mylo - before you object it was her idea.” He saw that the words were on the tip of your tongue and he raised his hands in a conciliatory manner. You didn’t quite know how to feel about then discussing the two of you dating like this. It was mature. It was progressive; Ellaria was the greatest wingman on the planet.
---
The longer the day wore on and the closer it came to the end of the work day - the more nervous you got. It was hard to focus on anything aside from your after work plans.
It had been years since you’d been on a first date and although you were somewhat comfortable around Oberyn - you didn’t think he’d see you in this light, as much as you secretly hoped.
Your stomach was in knots the whole drive there, you touched up the little makeup you had on with some mascara and a tinted lip balm you had in your bag and tried to get your hair under control. When you finally felt you looked presentable enough you walked into the daycare.
Oberyn was waiting at the front, he was dressed casually but it looked good. You had the suspicion that he had his clothes specifically tailored to him. The colours and the cut of his clothes always complimented his body, his skin tone, his eyes.
He smiled brightly at you, holding out his arm to escort you outside.
“Ready sweet girl?” You couldn’t help but smile at his words.
“Yes, are you sure Ellaria will be okay with watching Mylo?” You hesitated momentarily but he pulled you along gently, reassuring you that they would be fine.
“Would you like to walk? It’s lovely out, and the coffee shop is close.” He held you close, holding your hand with his big warm one where it held onto his arm. He smelled wonderful, like citrus mixed with something spicy.
“Yes that sounds nice.” You agreed, the weather was nice enough and it was still bright out. You felt the butterflies in your stomach, your skin tingling where he touched you.
“You look lovely by the way, I should have told you earlier.” He spoke very nearly in your ear and it sent a shiver down your spine. You blushed slightly.
“Thank you, you look great too, I love this colour on you.” You meant it, he had a way of wearing yellow.
“Thank you, I am a bit vain when it comes to my clothing I’m afraid.” He laughed ruefully, you knew then, he definitely had his clothes tailored.
You both spoke about mundane things as you made your way over, it was nice to have a normal conversation that didn’t revolve around your son. As much as you loved him, being a mother wasn’t the be all and end all of your personality.
You ordered a coffee and he ordered a tea and you both agreed to sit outside to enjoy the lovely evening weather. You kept the conversation going, telling each other of your childhoods, your interests. He asked about your work, and about where you came from. You did the same, eventually the conversation got a little more serious. You couldn’t help but ask him about his relationship with Ellaria.
“Ellaria and I met a long time ago, we were so young. We loved intensely and ended up having four daughters. Everything was perfect and we were very passionate with each other until we weren’t. There was no big fight, no deception. No betrayal. We grew apart as lovers and now have a deeper love and respect for each other. I want nothing for the best for her but I am not in love with her any longer. I push her to pursue romantic love as she does for me.” He was all smiles as he spoke and you could see the affection he had for her.
“It’s really lovely of you both to have ended on such good terms, your girls must love having you both so close.” You meant every word, they were lucky.
“They do, we are fortunate that we still enjoy each other’s company and that we ended that part of our relationship on good terms.” He smiled warmly but it faltered a little, you felt him bracing himself and you Instantly knew what was coming. “I know you’ve been through something sunflower, and if you do not wish to tell me about it I understand.” He reached over and grasped your hand in both of his.
“I know Ellaria probably told you, but I didn’t tell her the whole story. We were together for a long time, since we were kids practically. Always knew I'd marry him. We did the engagement, simple wedding, and then decided to have a baby. A month into my pregnancy he died. It was a freak accident at work. Shouldn’t have happened and here we are. We never lived the life we should have lived and I’m raising our son on my own.” You took a deep breath and for once you didn’t completely dissolve from speaking about him.
You felt him squeeze your hand in his and you smiled weakly at him.
“I’m so sorry to hear that, I understand what it is to lose someone unexpectedly.” You could feel his sadness, it was a mirror image of your own.
“Elia, your sister - how long has it been?” You scooted a little closer to him, it felt as though this conversation was a tiny spark. Something small and delicate that needed oxygen and you both needed to breathe your life into it.
“Yes, my Elia, it’s been just over a decade.” He leaned into you and you mirrored his actions, the both of you connected through grief as well as your hands.
“I’m so sorry Oberyn - your daughter - you named her after her?” You realized then.
“Yes, it hurt me to say her name at first but it wasn’t fair to her. Elia would not want me to be afraid to say her name.” He laughed then, lost in the memories of his sister. You both smiled at each other then and you felt a curious lightness. It was strangely comforting to know that you had this bond, as morbid as it was. There was a deep understanding there that most people -thankfully- couldn’t understand.
You laughed, you shared stories of your childhood- you connected and you realized how much you missed this. You missed the company and you missed talking to someone in this way. He tentatively held your hand as you walked home and you flushed at the simple touch.
When you made it back to the daycare a few hours later Mylo was asleep and Ellaria gave you a look that said we will definitely be discussing this later with a conspiratorial smile.
“Please allow me, I’ll walk you both to your car.” Oberyn carefully picked Mylo up out of the little cot he was sleeping in and you were impressed that he didn’t wake up. Hopefully you could do the same when you got home.
You were silent as you made your way out, you felt butterflies now even though the date had gone well.
Is he going to kiss me?
Do I want him to kiss me?
He buckled Mylo into his seat and then turned towards you to open the door for you, ever the gentleman.
“I had a lovely evening sunflower, would you like to see each other again?” You saw that he was hopeful as he asked and you already knew you would have said yes.
“I’d like that, I had a great time too.” You realized then that you lingered, not wanting to get into the car just yet and he took the opportunity.
He leaned in slowly, watching your mouth, lips parted slightly and back up to your eyes and you knew that he was asking permission. You closed the distance and kissed him.
It was a soft kiss, so soft it made your lips tingle. He kept it chaste, not wanting to push it further and you couldn’t express how grateful you were to him for that. He took your hand in his as you got into your car and kissed your knuckles.
“I’ll see you tomorrow sunflower.” He smiled and waited outside until you drove away.
-
The smile wouldn’t go away, not while you carefully brought Mylo in, not while you took a shower before bed. Not even while you lay there in the dark. It was plastered in your face and you felt like a teenager again. You could still feel the kiss as you drifted off.
-
He was hugging you but it was wrong
This didn’t feel like your husband, but you couldn’t let go - the shape of him didn't feel right. You couldn’t see his face, but you did see the yellow swirl of fabric as he wrapped himself around you.
Sunflower - you look lovely
Oberyn? You’re not supposed to be here…This was his space
He’s already gone my love
-
You jolted awake in a cold sweat. The tears were heavy and hot as you remembered, your dreams were always his space. The one place you could see him, you let the grief engulf you then. Knew you needed to wallow in it full for a few minutes before you could even attempt to let it go.
Part of you wanted to run, leave and never come back. Never see Oberyn again, abandon your life here with Mylo and take off just the two of you; but what good would that do? Would it bring your husband back? No. Would it make you happy? No. Could you bear the thought of pulling Mylo out of a place he loved so much over a dream? No.
Oberyn sensed your sadness when you walked in through the door. He had been waiting for you, it made you feel guilty to see him wilt slightly at your expression.
“Sunflower, have I done something to upset you?” He took Mylo into his arms as he spoke to you and you felt even worse then. How could you explain your feelings?
“No of course not - I had a wonderful time yesterday, I just- I don’t know how to explain it…” You tried to convey your feelings but the words failed you.
“Try, I want to try to understand - let us be honest with each other.” He wasn’t upset, he spoke calmly and you could feel that he meant it. He wanted you to open up, so you did.
“Sometimes, when I dream - I see my husband. Yesterday, I saw you and it hurt me… this is insane, I know it’s just a dream, but I felt like I betrayed him. I think I’m going insane.” You heard how it sounded, the embarrassment threatening to eat you alive in that moment and you swore that if he laughed at you then you’d leave and never come back. He didn’t laugh.
“You feel guilty that you saw me instead of him, that I’m somehow replacing him?” He was gently rubbing soothing circles onto you back as he held your son in his arms. You nodded weakly, tears threatening to overflow.
“Sunflower, I can never replace your husband, nor would I want to. I don’t want you to see me as a substitute for him, I want you to see me as I am. My own person and if this goes as well as I hope it will then our relationship will be something new. Not better, not a replacement- something new altogether, something ours. If you feel like you need more time then say the word and we will hold off.” He looked at you with such tenderness, such understanding, you knew in your heart this was right. You had to let the hurt pass.
“Thank you, I don’t want to wait. I don’t want you to replace him either, I want to continue this with you.” Your voice was thick with emotion and Mylo, sensing your mood reached over to hug you. It felt like a catharsis and you clutched at him. Oberyn held both of you and whispered that he too wanted this with you.
You felt lighter as you drove to work, the pain over losing the love of your life would never go away and not seeing him where you expected to hurt more than you thought, but you had to stop this. He would not want you to live your life this way.
-
The two of you continued your shy courting, you went out for dinner a few times - coffee dates and long walks. He took you to museums and art galleries - he never pushed you beyond a kiss here or there and you were grateful for that. It had been a long time since you’d slept with anyone new and you were a bit nervous.
You had asked him to come to your place for dinner, that you would cook for him. Ellaria- like always volunteering to watch Mylo for the two of you. It was nice to have him at your place, he blended right in. No shyness as he made himself at home - helping you with dinner, tidying up as you went along. You made a good team.
He complimented your cooking, and asked if he could take some home for his girls to try which you loved. You were packing up the rest when he came up behind you, his arms encircling you and stopping you from continuing. You couldn’t help but smile, it was so nice to have someone hold you like this.
“Thank you for a wonderful meal, sunflower it was lovely.” He kissed your shoulder and you craned your neck, unconsciously giving him more room which he took advantage of. You could feel his breath ghosting along your skin, it sent pleasant shivers down your spine. You turned to face him and the look on his face was so warm, so inviting - it did something to you.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and slowly brought him closer to you, he smiled into the kiss at first, but it disappeared when you licked along the seam of his mouth. He granted you entry and slanted his mouth to better fit yours, taking the opportunity to explore your mouth thoroughly. He dipped you slightly as his hunger for you shined through, it was so good it made you ache, he was a very good kisser and you moaned into his mouth. You grabbed at the back of his head to keep him close while his hands lowered until he boldly grabbed handfuls of your ass. You bit his lip and he groaned into your mouth. He pulled away much too soon.
“I could devour you…” he spoke into your neck, between open mouthed kisses, sucking lightly at the skin below your ear. You felt the arousal pooling in your belly at his words and his kisses and all of a sudden you were desperate for him. You pulled him towards the couch wordlessly and you all but pushed him onto it. You quickly straddled him and kissed him with as much passion and urgency as you could without hurting him. He responded eagerly, matching your intensity. You roughly pulled his clothes and although you could feel his excitement between your legs, he stopped you.
“Sunflower, are you sure?” he gasped when you bit his neck, soothing it quickly with your tongue.
“Yes, I’m ready, I’m so ready..” You kissed him roughly again, conveying just how ready you were by rolling your hips onto him. He quickly moved his arms to take off his shirt, accidentally bumping his head into yours, you both laughed at the absurdity of it. Looking more like teenagers in your urgency to disrobe.
“Are you okay?” you were both laughing as he rubbed at the place where his head connected with yours, smoothing the hurt away from you: in more ways than he realized.
“Yes - a little embarrassed and I feel like we’re both going to have goose eggs in a few hours but I’m fine. Are you okay?” You tried to soothe the pain on his forehead.
His expressions softened a little, he took your hands in his and kissed them.
“Lets try this again.” He slowly took your shirt off and your bra. Then his shirt and held you close to him; he kissed you deeply, the laughter was gone and you felt the arousal again as he trailed his kisses down your body. Your neck, your collarbone, your chest. His tongue licking each nipple like his life depended on it. He was devouring you as promised and you were determined to let him. Your hands held his hair as he continued to kiss and lick at your chest and you couldn’t take it anymore. It had been so long.
You got up and took the rest of your clothes off and he took the opportunity to do the same, the frenzy was back and your eyes widened at the sight of him. Hard and leaking with precum. You hastily climbed onto him, he protested slightly-
“Sunflower, I want to taste you first -” You cut him off.
“We have plenty of time - right now I just want to ride you.” He groaned at your urgency and you grasped him in your hand, pumping him a few times because you needed to touch the velvety skin of his cock. When you finally guided him into you and sat flush to him it was heaven. He was splitting you open and you could have cum just from the noises he made. He grabbed at your ass and helped you roll your hips, the pressure against your clit was almost perfect.
“So tight, so wet for me..” he moved forward quicker than you would have thought, causing you to scramble and clutch at his shoulders. “I’ve got you, I need more.” He lowered you onto the floor in your living room, spreading your thighs wide to settle in between them.
His hips snapped forward again and again and again and the rhythm was tightening and tightening that coil in your belly. You raised your legs to lock them high on his hips - god he was so deep like this - you could barely control the whimpers escaping your mouth with every thrust. He rested his head onto your forehead, the two of you seemingly sharing the same air. It was so good and you were so close, the sound of him slipping into your wet heat over and over was only serving to push you closer towards your climax.
“You’re so wet sweet girl, are you close? I want you to cum, I want to fuck you through your high.” he bit your lip as he spoke and you moaned - all you could do was nod frantically, you were so close. He felt you trying to raise your leg higher and he helped you, leaning onto one arm so he could hook your thigh under the other. You were so open for him and the new angle caused your eyes to practically roll into the back of your head.
“There it is, that’s where you want it huh? Right there? Rub your clit sunflower, make yourself cum on my cock.” he was hitting something white hot and blinding with each thrust and when you obeyed him you came undone, seizing up almost painfully. He didn’t stop. He sped up, chasing his own climax at the rush of your arousal soaking him.
“Can I cum inside?” he was frantic now, his thrusts turning into a steady grind which felt almost sinful.
“Yes yes please, I want to feel you.” you kissed him through it and he fell onto you, you felt him twitching inside of you, felt the cum dripping out of you as he collapsed onto your chest. Both of you breathing hard.
The laughter came then, bubbling up as a giggle at first. Then it was full-throated and it hurt your belly. You had just had sex on your livingroom floor and you felt so light and happy for the first time in so long you couldn’t control it.
He propped himself up onto his elbow to watch you as you laughed, a big smile on his face.
“I sincerely hope that you’re laughing from happiness and not at my performance.” He said it with a grin and you knew he wasn’t at all self-conscious. You slapped playfully at his chest and he snatched up your hand to kiss it. “I love to hear you laugh Sunflower, seeing you like this is wonderful.” he leaned into you and kissed you deeply, making you sigh into his mouth.
“I haven’t felt this way in a long time, I don’t even know what to do with myself.” It almost made you nervous, somehow expecting the other shoe to fall. He saw your emotions written across your face and he pulled you closer.
“Enjoy it, this was good - we both enjoyed it and you deserve to feel good. Now, let’s get up off the floor or I will be useless tomorrow.” He got up, helping you up after. He went to get dressed but you stopped him, pulling him instead towards your room; you pulled him into your bathroom to shower.
As you helped each other wash, you realized how much you missed this kind of intimacy with another person. As he washed your skin, he wasn’t only getting rid of the day, he was washing away part of your sadness, replacing the ache with hope. Hope that this could grow into something bigger, something more serious.
Ellaria wouldn’t let you move, you had to keep reminding her that you had been pregnant before and that you were perfectly capable of making yourself tea. She was having none of it.
It was so strange - you never in a million years would have thought that this kind of relationship would have worked but it did. Oberyn had made a commitment to you and was willing to do anything to make you happy - except be away from his children. Which as far as you were concerned was not an option, you wanted him to be there for them. When he tentatively suggested you moving into the big house and helping with the daycare it seemed almost natural. Ellaria was almost like a sister at this point, and you loved their girls like they were your own.
When you found out you were pregnant, you momentarily thought it might be a problem - that he might not want another child but you were wrong in that as well. He was overjoyed. He was over the moon - he was suggesting new names every day. Ellaria was ecstatic. They doted on you constantly. It was unconventional, but it was your life now and you couldn’t imagine it any other day.
“Good morning my sunflower, and just how is the little prince this morning?” he came down to find you drinking your tea, you were really showing now. He kneeled in front of you, the sun shining in through a window - giving him an ethereal glow.
“How are you so convinced it’s a boy? It could be a girl.” You laughed as he lifted your shirt and kissed your belly. The baby kicked, sensing it’s father. He smiled and pressed his cheek to it.
“I just know it’s a boy-” Ellaria cut him off.
“Oh please Oberyn, you know you only make girls.” She laughed, coming over to rub your belly lovingly. “I know you’re a little princess.” She smiled warmly at you.
You laughed to yourself as they discussed the baby, the light making him look like the sun - shining at you.
Sunflowers always turn towards the sun.
