Harriet Williamson (April 29, 2023). "Trans-inclusive cervical cancer campaign defies anti-LGBTQ+ hate: ‘We deserve to be screened.’" PinkNews. https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/04/29/cervical-cancer-screening-smear-test-lgbtq-inclusive-remove-the-doubt/
Update: This news article is about a campaign for cervical cancer screening, called Remove The Doubt. The UK charity running the campaign was called Live Through This. Later, the charity changed its name to OUTpatients, so the campaign moved to their new site. Since then, you can visit the Remove The Doubt site here, which explains to anyone who has a cervix what they need to know about cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccines.

Hi Everyone! I have some very upsetting news to share with you all. As some of you may know my mom was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Cervical cancer. Unfortunately on top of this news we found out that her type is neuroendocrine, a very rare cancer type that only affects 1.5% of Cervical cases. We have no other choice but to look into extra treatment on top of her chemo as well as treatments, tests and medications in America which we will have to pay all out of pocket. If anyone has anything to spare or even rebloggjng!! Reblogging is so crucial to help! It would be so greatly appreciated!

Hello! I’ve been so ill this past few weeks and been hospitalized because of medical concerns. Found out that I have a tumor and it was already malignant. I have a Stage 2A Cervical Cancer and needs help ASAP. 🥺
GOAL: $1800
Hey, so um.... This is the second kind of post I received asking for monetary help, and i don't want to think this, but are they genuine? Can you guys tell?
Also @groovywinnernerd , I am minor, so i can't help you financially. However like I did with a previous ask, I can tag this with sufficient tags so that the right ppl find this and hopefully helpful.
Also how should donors send you money?
I genuinely hope you get whatever help it is that you need

I hate TikTok because I made a video saying that the fact that the only way to detect cervical cancer was to pry open the vagina and swab is ridiculous, and said there should be more options. And if we really cant get any other options, at least find a way to do biopsies through the skin like you would a liver or Lung biopsy for people who experience traumatic events and/or SA and cannot do vaginal exams and i got ATTACKED in the comments saying i was "so fucking dumb" and "dramatic". One person said that we had a system that works and "they have more important things to worry about" and it just goes to show that people really do not care about people the way they should. You should WANT other people to have good medical experiences. You should WANT people to have a positive relationship with medicine and doctors. You should want people to have OPTIONS when it comes to their health! One person said I was "embarrassing myself" after I said "options are so incredibly important, especially when dealing with procedures like this" and I genuinely cannot fathom how caring about other people is considered "embarrassing." It is not unreasonable to say that in this day and age, with how technology and medically advanced we've gotten, we should have more than one method to screen for cervical cancer in AFAB individuals.

Uuuh no sweaty your lecture slides clearly say it's endometrial cancer and do not cite their sources :)) fucking CLOWNS

hey friends! have you heard? public health scotland announced that they've found no cases of cervical cancer in women who were fully vaccinated against HPV
great news for those scottish women, but it's great news for people of all genders! because all genders can be vaccinated against HPV, which causes head, neck, mouth, throat, cervical, anal, and penile cancers, and this specific vaccination prevents something like 45-100% of HPV-positive cancers
in the US, all genders are eligible for vaccination to age 45 (and you may be able to be vaccinated beyond that by a well-educated and understanding pharmacist or doctor). you can be vaccinated even if you've had HPV because the latest shot protects against 9 different strains!
most insurance in the US will pay for the vaccine (it's 3 jabs over 6 months or so) because it's preventative and preventative treatment coverage is mandated by the ACA/Obamacare
this verywell health post is a good resource if you have questions!
unfortunately i don't know much about eligibility or availability in other countries but would absolutely welcome more info from people who do!!
cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death in young people with cervixes worldwide, but HPV also causes debilitating and fatal cancers of the mouth, throat, ass, and penis. since nearly three out of every four people will contract HPV by age 40, with this one vaccine we have the ability to basically wipe out almost all of the cancers it causes

Colposcopy
so on Wednesday I had the absolute joy of having this hellish procedure... Without any other pain relief than what I've been taking for 15 months for pelvic pain. Anyways I wanted to explain what it's like and get it out there because I've just been kind of numb and traumatized from the whole thing. First I had some fun swabs done and opened up to do internal swabs. Then some acid was put on to my cervical ectropion to treat it and it wasn't that bad.
But next came the silver nitrate which was hell. It burned. Then more fun news, due to how abnormal my cervix is I was recommended a punch biopsy. Now I'm talking a 5 inch or more needle that I had to cough on to take a small piece off for testing. Then more silver nitrate to cauterize the bleeding from the biopsy needle.
It was excruciating. I cried. I was scared to moved after it was all done. Gas and air would be perfect for this but no I'm supposed to just deal with the pain. Not fair. Fucking fed up of medical care. They fucking assaulted me without anything to help me with it. Disgusted. Traumatized fr
