#caretaker vs. whumper
redd956 · 2 years
Note
Whumper who fancies whumpee and kidnaps them. In order to break and bend whumpee to their will, they tell them (falsely) that caretaker has started dating someone else and that they’re over whumpee.
Ooooooooooooo! Here's what I got...
-Whumpee at first being completely defiant or deniable about the idea, but over time their resolve starts to crumble
-Whumper holding Whumpee close, whispering these lies to them. Whumpee being so devastated by the information that they allow themselves to collaspe into Whumper's arms, unable to see the large forming grin on Whumper's face.
-Perhaps Whumpee believes Caretaker only cared for them out of romantic passion, and now believes no one else will ever care for them again.
-Whumpee shouting at Whumper that they're wrong, yet tears are forming at the seams of their eyelids
-Whumpee being captive in Whumper's house. They believe the once they give up their attempts to freedom.
AND WHEN CARETAKER SHOWS UP
-That moment when Caretaker gets them back, running towards Whumpee with open arms, only for Whumpee to retreat from them
-Caretaker finds Whumpee, but they are with Whumper. Feeling betrayed they don't take Caretaker's offer of help, and back up into Whumper's all too open arms.
-Whumpee having zero trusts for Caretaker (Perhaps Whumper convinced Whumpee that Caretaker was the real Whumper/Threat)
-Caretaker and Whumper fighting for custody. Does Whumpee save Caretaker? Or do they take out the wrong guy, believing Whumper's word?
Also
The poor Third Party Character who happens to be friends with Caretaker during the whole mess, having to survive a feral Whumpee attack

A severely injured Hero running out of options, not knowing where to go and having no one to help them. They’ll die if they don’t get help soon.
As a last resort, they end up on Villain’s doorstep. As the door swings open Villain scoffs, amused as the Hero leans against the frame. Hero is a pale, sweaty mess, dry blood caking their face and neck. Villain stares expectantly.
“I need your help…” they swallow. “Please.” Hero grunts as Villain chuckles.
“Then say it.” They smirk. Hero shuts their eyes, willing themself the courage to speak. With a sigh, they look Villain in the eyes.
“…Dad… I need your help, dad.”

Nightmares
CW: nightmares, recapture
The nightmares had always been there. Since day one, when everything around Sidekick was in disarray, everything changing all too quickly, their night demons were always waiting for the moment of sleep before flooding Sidekick's head.
At first, the nightmares had been loud and fitful, waking Hero almost every night, but as Sidekick had settled into Hero's home and began training, they had learned to keep their mouth shut.
Tonight was no exception. Sidekick still fought day in and day out, even in sleep. When they did wake, they could tell something was off.
At first, they just assumed they had seen it wrong, the shadow by the foot of their bed. They rubbed the sleep from their eyes, and studied the form, convincing themselves it was a figment of their imagination.
Then the figure cleared its throat.
Sidekick's dreams were always different, but there had been one change that was never broken.
Villain's men never spoke, at least not in their dreams.
"Well, am I sure glad to see you again, Sidekick."
A shiver ran up their spine.
"Oh, no need to be afraid, I'm sure Villain will be very pleased to have their little pet back."

“thanks.. dad..” says whumpee, their voice rough and low, as caretaker threads their fingers through their tangled hair
vs
“no please-! dad make it stop! it hurts- please-!” as they thrash and scream, arching away from whumper’s blade as they slice and carve into their skin, caretaker watching in chains

Tarot-Inspired Whump Prompts
I'm enthusiastic about both whump and tarot and those interests were bound to collide at some point. So I wrote a list of writing prompts inspired by the Major Arcana! Five prompts for each card, so there should be something for everyone. Enjoy!

3 whumpy anime to check out this spring!
Tumblr media
Go Go Loser Ranger is a heroes vs. villains anime where the villains are the good guys and the heroes are downright evil. Having wiped out all the powerful monsters more than a decade ago, the heroes keep the weakest monsters captive, to parade around and torment on a weekly basis while the public believes otherwise. Because they're immortal when hit with most weapons, they'll always reform to be hurt over and over again, despite feeling all the pain.
Footsoldier D is one of those weak monsters, an immortal shapeshifter made of dust, called a "duster". After escaping the heroes' arena, he forms a plan to kill the heroes and steal the few weapons they have that can permanently kill dusters, freeing the rest of his kind. Given that he has the constitution of a porcelain doll, he can't use strength to fight: he has to rely on wits, stealth, shapeshifting (despite knowing very little about humans or the outside world), and a shaky alliance with a double-agent ranger who seems to be taking advantage of him for her own gain.
Whump tags: villain whumpee, hero whumper, immortal whumpee
Watch it on Hulu, Disney+, or any unofficial anime site.
And if you don't have time to check out a whole anime, the Go Go Loser Ranger opening theme video is also really good, with fantastic visuals symbolizing D's struggles!
Tumblr media
An Archdemon's Dilemma is a romantic comedy stuffed to the brim with popular whump tropes. Zagan is a demonic sorcerer who attends an auction for the possessions of another recently-killed sorcerer, when he sees that one of those "possessions" is an elf slave, Nephelia. Having had a destitute, harsh past himself, he feels a rush of sympathy and buys her way out, vowing to ensure her safety. However, Nephelia is terrified, believing she's about to be used as a sacrifice in a dark magic ritual. And unfortunately for both of them, Zagan is a socially awkward loser who sucks at communicating.
It's surreal seeing something that looks like it could be a caretaker-new-master whump fic as an actual, fully-realized anime. It definitely doesn't take itself too seriously despite the premise, leaning heavily on the "comedy" part of romantic comedy, and is mostly just a silly time with lots of whump-adjacent stuff thrown in. Fanfic-y to the point of "there's only one bed" being an actual line.
Whump tags: fantasy slavery (very pet-whump-esque in its tropes), caretaker new master
Watch it on Crunchyroll or any unofficial anime site.
Tumblr media
The Grimm Variations is an anthology of horror retellings of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales. With each episode being written and directed by different people, it varies wildly in quality, with episodes ranging from laughably bad to incredibly good, but I'm here to talk about episode 2: Little Red Riding Hood.
The Little Red Riding Hood takes place in a dystopian future where the upper and middle class use virtual reality technology to augment their reality. One man, Grey, is tired of this and craves the real: specifically, the feeling of real blood spraying him as he murders countless women, his wealth and connections protecting him from consequences. But when this serial killer makes the mistake of targeting a woman called Scarlet, he finds himself on the other side of the knife. This episode is a complete and utter gorefest with multiple onscreen torture scenes.
This isn't even my favorite episode of the series, it's like my 3rd favorite. But episode 2 is the one with the gruesome torture scene, so it's the one that goes in this post.
Little Red Riding Hood whump tags: whumper-turned-whumpee, torture, gore
Little Red Riding Hood warnings: sexual assault, eye gore, fingernail gore, violence against women, major character death
Watch it on Netflix or any unofficial anime site. Orrrr if you just wanna watch the big torture scene without any of the context, it's on Youtube.
that's all I have for now :)
(P.S: Dungeon Meshi, while not really whumpy as a whole, is also currently airing and very very good and I might write whump fanfic for it at some point in the near future. Netflix or any unofficial anime site.)

Something I definetly think is interesting is WINNING whumpees. In a game of poker or a game of chance or a bet or contest or something...
Of course in a game of whumpers vs. whumpers no one really CARES how whumpee is feeling, how tense it is, watching everyone and hoping they don't get certain people, trying to figure out who holds the pity or sympathy in their eyes, not sure WHO will win them but knowing whoever gets them will probably be terrible in their own way. Perhaps this is at a showy party and they're acting like another decoration, and maybe they get won earlier in the night, spending the party with their new owner.
But then there's also whumpers vs. caretaker/team. Whumper already has whumpee, so let's spice things up! Caretaker or team has to watch whumpee cringe and the color drain from their face every time whumper gets a point, having to sit there and play fair as whumper dangles whumpee in front of them... caretaker and/or team getting being mortified at the prospect of WINNING whumpee like they're some object, but having to use that language do whumper will let them play for a chance for them back at all.
And whumpee can't di a thing in either situation. In games of chance they're obviously helpless, but even in games of skill THEYRE not even the ones competing. Their fate is up to whoever is the best at a certain thing, who plays better cards in a game of poker, who calculates better in chess, or what have you.
Pet whumpees work very well for this, but I think tiny whumpees do too. Placing them on the table with all the poker chips, keeping them in a box by the other prizes, passing them around as different players take the lead... lots of potential.

whumper who pretends to be a kind and gentle caretaker vs. a bunch of orphan whumpees who have no idea they’re in fact livestocks and the day they get “adopted” is in fact the day they’re taken to the slaughterhouse.
*this is the plot of the Promised Neverland aka the only anime I’ve watched since adulthood. I’ve only seen the first season but it’s actually so good, and also… the whump!!!!

Whump Prompt #1196
Submitted by Anon -- thanks!
I give you, the caretaker trying to get a sedated whumpee out of the whumpers grasp and it culminating into a caretaker vs whumper fight.
Caretaker then sticks them with the same needle that they used on whumpee, effectively sedating them and giving caretaker and opportunity to grab whumpee and leave

I love whumping the Vs from Hazbin Hotel – all three of them, not just Valentino, since rich bastards are my favourite type of victims – and here’s some cute ideas I’ve come up with for maximum pain.
Valentino has a tendency to lose his wings. A moth’s wings cannot grow back once ripped, so it’d be permanent karma on his part. Piercing and cutting them without removing them could also be fun. Another insect-specific whump could also be dosing him in smoke or nailing his limbs to a surface.
Velvette’s main target are her hair and face. She’s an influencer and values her beauty. Her ankles are also vulnerable. She seems to be the toughest of the trio, though, so she’s usually the spectator and caretaker.
But the most whumpable by far is Vox. He’s an electronic device, so there’s so much one can do to break him. Shatter his screen. Dose his exploded circuitry with water. Leave him without battery to recharge, making him weaker and weaker until he passes unconscious. One time I had the whumper – Crimson from Helluva Boss – wire him to a running car battery until he overloaded and his head exploded in smoke. He was repaired but… it wasn’t amusing for him.
His fragility can also force the other two to do things against their will to keep him safe.
Do you like these ideas so far? What else can we do to bring the dreaded Vs down to everyone’s level?
Hazbin whump is so much fun specifically because almost all of them are at least half non human, there's so much room for creativity with whumping them LOL these are absolutely fantastic. I think especially anything insect or generally animal related is always fun and really interesting so I love your ideas for Valentino but these are all great 😈😈

Because I'm on the aspec, romantic/sexual attraction isn't really a part of what draws me to potential whump characters, which begs a question. @ Those in the whump community who experience attraction: if you feel like it, reblog/comment on this post and describe what traits make a character attractive to you in a whump capacity.
Are the attractive traits different for a whumpee vs. whumper vs. caretaker? Are there particular traits in common across multiple whumpees/whumpers/caretakers you've had in the past? Would you still find that type attractive outside of a whump scenario? Or is it the whump itself that you find attractive, not necessarily the character (cause I know some community members are into the tropes, not the types that they're happening to.) I'm curious to understand 🤔

Imagine Caretaker who is the sweetest person ever, they always care for Whumpee, making sure their needs are put way above their own, they love Whumpee so much and wouldnt trade them for the world. Even when Whumpee acts out, tells Caretaker that they hate them during one of their episodes, Caretaker never leaves their side and never will.
VS.
Bad Caretaker (or possibly Whumper) who is the most horrible person you will ever come across. On the outside they’re just like a normal Caretaker, pretending to take care of Whumpee, but when Nobodys looking that’s where the real fun starts. They love to “unintentionally” hurt Whumpee, “accidentally” ruin their things. They love to treat Whumpee as a servant. And poor Whumpee is too scared to tell anyone about what’s happening due to the fears that have been put in their head.
