Sedate your whumpees. Do it whether they want to be sedated or not.
Perhaps they're trying to fight against the doctors who are attempting to help them because they don't understand what's going on, and all caretaker can do is stand back and tearily watch the needle slip in and whumpee's consciousness slowly slip away. Their limp arm is placed back down on the sheets beside them and the doctors now have no resistance to their treatment plan.
Or maybe whumpee is in so much pain/discomfort that they're begging to be sedated. All they want is to be unconscious so they don't have to be aware of all that they're suffering through. The feeling of going under is terrifying to them, but it's worth it. Caretaker sits beside the bed holding their hand, watching the glaze enter their eyes as they start to blink slowly, then drift off.
In either situation, the result is that the whumpee looks peaceful at last. Whether they're actually peaceful within is a whole other thing

The whumpee hadn’t even registered the fact that he’d been rescued, they were too dazed and confused because of the cocktail of sedatives the whumper gave them on a regular basis. It takes a very long time for the whumpee to realize what’s going on, and even then, they think it might just all be a dream.

lay down on the operating table
TW: forced sedation, experimentation, restraints, struggling
Lay down on the operating table for us. I know you're upset about being experimented on and brainwashed, but it's for the greater good. You'll feel much better about it once we've sedated you. These restraints are for your own safety. Just put your arm down, and -- there we go, all secured. Just relax. There's no point in fighting. You should know that by now.
That's right, soon you'll be trapped inside a body that's too heavy and too drowsy to move, completely relaxed, unable to focus on anything but how much you want to sleep. Every fiber of your body will be relaxed. Your eyelids will become too heavy to keep open. The sedation will slowly overwhelm you until you can't fight it any more.
And once you're asleep, no matter what is done to you, you will not resist. You won't even be aware of what is happening. You'll be completely at our mercy, sleeping so peacefully. Once the sedative starts to kick in, you won't even remember a thing.
Here, let me put the mask on you and secure it. It's only oxygen. Now breath in deeply. One deep relaxing breath for me. In and out. That's it. Another deep breath. In and out. Good.
Now I am going to start the drug that will put you to sleep. It'll take a few minutes to work, but soon it's going to make you very, very relaxed, and very, very sleepy. No use holding your breath. Just breath normally. There you go.
That's it. Relax and let the sedative work its magic on you. You'll start to feel drowsy and floaty as the drug enters your system. Your eyes will become heavy, and you'll let them drift shut. Your mind will blank, leaving you so relaxed. Do you feel it yet?
You're starting to look a bit dazed. The sedation is beginning to work, I think. You're feeling nice and relaxed, aren't you? And so sleepy. I can see your eyes blinking so slowly. No, no, it's no use to struggle against the restraints. Eventually, you'll stop fighting it and go to sleep.
Your body is becoming heavy and your mind is growing hazy. Just lie back on the table, yes, that's good. Take another deep breath. Is that a yawn? Is the gas making you drowsy? You're starting to feel it affecting you, aren't you? Lying there, staring up at the ceiling, fighting those heavy eyelids.
I bet you feel so calm and peaceful. Like you want to let yourself drift off to sleep, right?
Your body and mind are relaxing and becoming more sedated, and there's so little you can do about it. Your eyelids want to drift shut. That tiredness is spreading all throughout your body. Is it starting to get hard to keep your eyes open? Is your head starting to feel heavy? Do you feel like you could fall asleep at any moment if you wanted to?
Yes, that's how the sedative is supposed to make you feel -- calm, relaxed, heavy, sleepy. You're fighting your body's natural urges to go to sleep. You'll lose that battle. You are going to go to sleep.
Did you realize that you've stopped struggling against the restraints? It looks like you can barely keep your eyes open. Slowly and surely, the sedative is putting you to sleep, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's no use fighting those heavy, tired eyelids. They're shutting all on their own.
That's right, you're completely unable to fight the sedation. It's strong and powerful. It will make you feel floaty and drowsy and oh so blissful. It will override your desire to stay awake. It was all over the second we started the drug, and you knew that.
The sedation is conquering your body and soon it will conquer your mind. Your body will fall asleep soon. Let yourself stop fighting, let sleep claim your helpless body. Let sleep take you. Let the sedation claim you. Let your eyelids close.
You're becoming drowsy, drowsier and sleepier. Soon your eyelids will close, and you will give in to the sedation, and you will be so docile and pliant and entirely at my mercy. Are you ready for that? The moment when your eyelids close will be the point of no return. A fleeting moment when you are not yet asleep and not quite awake. A moment where you know you've lost the fight, where you feel utterly helpless.
There we go. Shut those sleepy eyes for me. Don't open them again. Let the sedative put you fast asleep. There we go, fall asleep. Go to sleep, deep asleep. So deeply asleep. It feels so good to stop fighting and go to sleep. And now that you've fallen asleep, we can do whatever experiments we please.
Now, we can get to work.

Angel: *holding baby spider kittens in his arms being a proud papa* Say hi daddy!
Husk: *looks at one of the kittens in particular with all white fur*
Husk: Who’s goddamn white baby is that?
Angel: This is your baby. He’s just light furred
Husk: *looks at other two kittens in Angel’s arms* Those two might be mine. Those two right there. But just because they look Husk, don’t mean they belong to Husk. But I don’t care what this baby looks like because this baby is rice-furred but not light furred.
Angel: *turns to the doctor* How strong were the drugs you gave him for his c-section?
Doctor: Oh very strong.
Husk: *recovering from c-section sedation after he gave birth to the kitten-spiders and is rambling like a madman*
Angel: I see…

Anesthesia vs Analgesia vs Sedation vs Paralytic
So, what's the deal? Aren't they interchangeable?
Well, no! Though they can be similar in some ways.
Anesthesia
Good ol "knock out the character" drug. It induces unconsciousness, but will not reduce pain, and doesn't make our character sleepy weirdly enough, or unresponsive to being touched. If you stabbed an anesthetized character, they would still reflexively flinch back. They also won't be truly sleepy, though it will feel like it when they wake up, but that's ultimately just their body fighting off the agent.
Analgesic
This is what you REALLY want when a character's anesthetized. Analgesics are also known as painkillers, so we could stab a character under analgesics and they wouldn't feel anything more than pressure.
Sedation
This one's the sleepy one. It calms and soothes, and though it's possible to fall asleep with it, it's more likely to leave our favorite character pleasantly dazed, but still awake, aware, and feeling pain.
Paralytic
This one's the one that stops movement during surgery, since as mentioned before, our character could still move around, even when unconscious. This is NOT anesthesia, and even if a character is completely unable to move, they are still highly conscious and acutely aware of what pain they're in. Nothing's scarier than being unable to move and feeling a blade bite into you, especially when everyone's oblivious.
Just a brief resource for anyone looking to add some variety to their writing!

I wrote this one in a Pinterest comment for a forced sedation whump prompt.
"No, let me out of here", Whumpee staggered to the elevator. They attempted to hit the down button, but definitely missed and hit the wall.
They felt something sharp poke into their arm, they turned to see Caretaker stepping away, they eyed the needle.
"Bastard", Whumpee groaned as they slunk to the floor.
Caretaker sat down next to them, "you left me no other options, I'll take care of you though, don't worry."
Whumpees eyes starred to get heavy, "you better", they mumbled, then drifted off.

Drug Orders and Doses
Tumblr media
@whumpsmith
Cool, so I think the first thing to know is how medication is ordered.
Generally speaking, it will be ordered in 5 parts, known as the "5 Rights" of medication administration:
#1 What patient is getting the medication
#2 What medication is to be given
#3 How much medication is to be given
#4 What time it is to be given (or how often)
#5 What route it is to be given
So an order might be "Give John Smith (5/13/1995) lorazepam 0.5mg IV once prior to MRI"
In this example, John Smith is the patient and 5/13/1995 is his birthday to differentiate him from all the other John Smiths. "Lorazepam" is the drug's generic name, "0.5mg" is the amount of the drug. "IV" is the route, and "once prior to MRI" is the time.
Drugs have generic and brand names. For example, acetaminophen is a generic name. Many companies make acetaminophen, and each has their own brand name for the drug. Probably the most well-known brand name for acetaminophen is Tylenol, but there are others, like Calpol and Panadol. For most people, it doesn't matter which brand of a particular drug is used, just that the active ingredient (the generic name) is the same. For some people it matters because the non-active ingredients may be different between brands, and they may be allergic to a non-active ingredient that is in one brand, but not another.
In a hospital setting, we're going to use the generic name, because the brand of the drug that is cheapest to the hospital pharmacy varies contract to contract, and there are a lot of drug shortages these days. That's why if you're in the hospital you might get an oval green pill one day and a round white one the next day. They're the same drug, just different brands.
The dose is given in milligrams, usually abbreviated "mg". Milligrams are a measure of weight. Cubic centimeter (cc), on the other hand is a measure of volume. At some point we switched from volume based to weight based measures because we had a lot of different concentrations and using volumes for everything made mistakes really common. If you're using weights, it doesn't matter if the concentration you have is 1mg/mL or 10mg/mL for a given drug, you can do the math and come up with a volume that is right instead of just hoping you picked the one the doctor was thinking about when they wrote the order.
There are many routes a drug can take into the body. There is oral (a pill or liquid), IV (injection in a vein), IM (injection in a muscle), SQ (injection into fat), rectal/PR (a suppository, gel, or liquid inserted into the rectum), SL (under the tongue), TD (a paste or patch that sends medication through the skin) and many more.
Times can be once, once every x hours, once every x hours as needed (PRN), once under a particular circumstance, daily, or pretty much any other interval you can think of. "Stat" is a term meaning "right now".
Here's a list of common medications and their dosages:
CODE DRUGS:
Epinephrine 1mg IV for cardiac arrest every 3-5 minutes, 0.3mg for anaphylaxis
Amiodarone 150-300mg IV over 10 minutes for cardiac arrest
Lidocaine 75mg for cardiac arrest initially, if that doesn't work then 37.5 10 mins later
Adenosine 6mg given very quickly for PSVT, if that doesn't work, give 12mg
Atropine 1mg every 3-5 minutes for low heart rate until heart rate is normal
OTHER DRUGS:
Albuterol 2.5mg in nebulizer for brochospasm/asthma attack
Metoprolol 5mg IV every 5 minutes up to 15mg for severe high blood pressure
Furosemide 20-80mg IV for fluid on lungs
D50 25g IV for low blood sugar
Diphenhydramine 12.5-50mg IV for allergic reaction
Morphine 2-10mg IV or IM for pain
Fentanyl 50-200mcg for sedation
Mannitol 20-150g for increased pressure inside the skull
Nitroglycerin 0.3-0.6mg every 5 minutes up to 3 times for chest pain (angina)
Naloxone 8mg nasal spray every 2-3 minutes for opioid overdose
Flumazenil 0.2mg IV for benzodiazepine poisoning, if that doesn't work give 0.3mg, if that doesn't work, give 0.5
Diazepam 15mg rectal gel for seizures that don't stop
Phenobarbital 1-1.5g IV for seizures that don't stop
Etomidate 22mg IV for anesthesia (for things like intubating someone)
Midazolam 5mg IV for sedation prior to surgery
Olanzepine 5-10mg IV for agitation (emergency sedation)
Haloperidol 0.5-10mg oral or IM for agitation (emergency sedation)

It Hurts
For @epiclamer , who evidently is in dire need of Hero whump with a Villain caretaker!
"Hero, Hero! Calm down, what's wrong?"
Hero's sobs could be heard on the other line.
"I-it hurts," Hero cried, "Villain, it hurts!"
Villain clutched the phone tight in their hand as they made their way out the front door.
"Where are you?" Villain asked.
"S-somewhere in the city park."
The line went dangerously quiet.
"Hero, stay on the phone. Keep talking to me. What happened?"
"Other Villain- *hiccup*- Other Villain, they jumped me, injected me with something. Villain, it burns."
Villain's heartrate picked up at the sound of Hero's sobs. They got in their car, completely disregarding the speed limit in hopes that they'd reach Hero soon.
...
Hero writhed and thrashed on the ground. Their injection site stung and burned, but all of their veins felt like they were truly on fire. Hero didn't even register the footsteps rapidly approaching them.
Villain dropped to their knees and cradled Hero's head in their lap.
"Hero, I'm right here, it's gonna be okay."
"Make it stop," Hero begged, "please."
Villain didn't know what to do. They could take Hero to a hospital, but then their identity might be compromised. There was only one thing they knew to do to ease Hero's pain.
"Hero, I've got a sedative in my belt," Villain said slowly, "it'll put you to sleep until whatever this is wears off. Do you want it?"
Hero only howled in response, tears streaming down their face. That was enough for Villain. They took the syringe out of their belt pocket and gently brought the needle into Hero's skin, injecting the contents into their system.
Hero still felt pain, but it was becoming more distant as their eyes grew heavier. They felt Villain lift them up into a bridal carry before the world went dark.
...
The first thing Hero felt upon waking was a faint burning in their body. The next thing they felt was a hand carding through their hair. They opened their eyes and turned their head to the side.
"Villain?" Hero asked dazedly.
"Hey there," Villain said, "how are you feeling?"
"It still hurts but... not as bad."
Villain looked visibly relieved.
"Good," Villain said, "that's good to hear."
"Where... where am I?"
"My base."
Hero looked around. They were in a large, plush bed in an even larger room. The curtains were drawn shut, and only a sliver of light trickled through.
"Try to rest," Villain said, "now that you're awake, I have some business to attend to."
Villain started to leave.
"Wait!"
Hero swung their legs over the side of the bed and stood to follow them, but they overestimated their ability to support themselves. Their shaky knees buckled. Villain whipped around and dove to catch them.
"You were sedated, remember?" Villain asked.
"I wasn't really paying attention," Hero admitted.
"Well, you're still gonna be weak and out of it for a while," Villain said, depositing them back in the bed, "just rest and wait for me. I'll be back soon."
"Where are you going?" Hero asked.
Villain pulled the covers back up to Hero's chin.
"To take down Other Villain, of course."
Villain planted a small kiss on Hero's forehead, then left to get their revenge. After all, no one hurts their Hero and gets away with it.

Identity Pt 4
Part (4) of Identity, the next arc of Doc's Misadventures! If you're new, start at the beginning with Touch Starved!
I owe loads of responses and I'm sorry! I got the writing bug and any spare time I've had in front of a computer, I just wanted to write! Quick answer to the most common question, though: Yeah, the implication is that the contact is her dad - that'll be touched on a bit more later, though, and I'll try to actually be a good tumblr person and respond to everyone's lovely comments this week now that I've purged this chapter out!
Huge preemptive warning before even getting to the real warnings! This is one of those particularly dark chapters that may be too intense for some readers. If that's the case, I'm more than happy to make a summary for continuity's sake; just please take caution to read the tags
Warnings: torture, waterboarding, drowning, interrogation, panic, panic attack, flashbacks, self-blame, giving up, longing for death, temporary insanity, arguably inappropriate use of sedation, guilt, profanity, intense whump

Fire tore through my nose and throat, body wrenching forward with violent coughs that sent pain shooting down my side, but the movement stopped short, chest held fast to something behind me – no… beneath me? I couldn’t think beyond the desperate need for air, head shaking as though it might rid my eyes and nose of the liquid still dripping down my face as my jaw gaped around choked gasps. The distorted hum of unfamiliar voices resonated nearby, pausing mere seconds before another torrent of icy water crashed over me, robbing me of what pitiful taste of air I’d fought so hard to gain and sending me back down that spiral of panicked suffocation, diaphragm convulsing uselessly beneath that torturous burn of drowning.
Something locked around my jaw, forcing my gaze toward the blurred colors that surely hid an unknown face and drawing a startled grunt of pain from me. I could almost hear words, confident at least that they were male before my attacker released me harshly enough to slam my already throbbing head against whatever lay beneath it. I’d only just realized my wrists were bound behind me when another frigid wave was thrown at me, again leaving me sputtering for breath.
“… a patient man…” That voice growled, mind finally grasping some meager bit of clarity. “I suggest you answer my questions before things get really unpleasant.” Wheezing, I quickly looked about us for some hint as to what was happening, but the dark cell offered no clues toward who he was or where he’d taken me. I think I was tied to a chair leaning back at a precarious angle, but I couldn’t move enough to check before he grabbed me again, fingers burring into my already bruised jaw.
“Eyes on me, yuh damn rat.” He grumbled. Without conscious thought, I realized some part of me expected to find a grizzled, old man covered in scars, eyes full of enraged contempt, but that’s not who stood beside me. He appeared to barely be in his thirties, white shirt marred with sweat and blood and stains I tried not to look too closely at lest I see something far worse. Years of drinking left is stomach distended and his skin blotchy, and what light may once have filled pale, green eyes had long since abandoned him. There was no anger fueling his actions, no obvious cause for him to seek retribution from long held vendetta. This was his job, and he’d simply lost the will to be bothered by the horrors it forced him to do.
“Ah. Guess yuh weren’t really awake yet, were yuh?” He hummed more to himself than to me, “Concussions can be tricky like that…” With a deep sigh, he stepped back, hand dropping absently away from me. “Let’s start over, then.” The way he rubbed his hand over his face, the weariness dragging against his movements, it felt so painfully displaced against the way my heart raced.
“Who ordered the hit?” Lost, I could only stare at him, thoughts far too muddled beneath fear and confusion to fathom a response. “How about we start with something easier?” He muttered, though he still reached for something behind me. I heard the click of a button followed by the rush of water through pipework overhead, and the terror that gripped me was visceral, body shaking too hard to manage even a broken gasp, limbs wrenching against the shackles about my wrists and ankles.
The vague sensation of pain each movement sent tearing through my left side didn’t matter, nor the growing understanding that there had been an explosion; that everyone near the podium must have been caught in the blast, and I couldn’t begin to guess the extent of my own injuries even as I recalled the horrifying images of those far less fortunate. That knowledge, that pain, none of it mattered in the face of where I now lay: trapped before this stranger who owed me no loyalties and sought only to force answers from me that I could never give.
“Where are yuh from?” I wondered if the hint of a slur in his voice was from mere disinterest, or if he’d already begun numbing himself with some bottle stashed amidst the grime-streaked walls. “Not gonna tell me your name, either, I assume?” My jaw ground shut, gaze turning blindly to the dark ceiling above us. He offered no further warning before clicking another button to unleash the next rush of water. I managed to keep most of it from flooding my mouth, but the pressure forced enough up my nose to send me into another fit of strangled coughs.
“You’re with the Republic, yeah? Some kinda spy or something? What’s that fancy swamp planet…” He seemed to think it over for several seconds before remembering. “Naboo! You from Naboo?” Breath shattering between clattering teeth, I kept my attention turned pointedly away from him, clinging to some distant memory that it was better to remain silent during an interrogation; that even shouted curses yielded more easily to breaking than simply never speaking at all, and then I had to come to terms with that simple fact that that’s exactly what this was: an interrogation.
How long had it been since the gala? Was I still on the same planet? Was I on a planet at all? I didn’t want to acknowledge what the answers to those questions might mean; didn’t want to let myself listen for the rumble of engines or hum or air recyclers. It was easier not to know.
A tsk sounded from the man beside me, and I had to fight not to let my expression crumble beneath that fear.
“A’right.” I wanted to slap him for the disinterest in that breathy sigh, anger drawing my lips into a scowl. Again, there was no warning. A dark sack was pulled roughly over my face. I had just enough time to gasp before that water began to pour down. My chest bucked with violent fits, fighting to force some sliver of air through the endless onslaught, but it wouldn’t stop. Why wouldn’t it stop?
The was a moment when that determination first faltered beneath the weight of a panic no amount of logic could hope to supersede; a fleeting breadth of understanding just how alone I was, how little I meant, and how hopeless even the denial that forbade me from listening for engines truly was, because regardless my dreams and nightmares, regardless the sincerity of my intentions or the purpose I once believed drove me through moments when I wanted nothing more than to shatter, the simple reality was that death didn’t care and all I’d done would amount to nothing. There was no promise of one more chance, no reason swaying whether I lived or died, no thought beyond a bone-deep, primal terror, and not a damn thing I could do to change any of it.
Powerless, I laid beneath the flow of soured water, body thrashing uselessly as the man just stood there, watching; waiting. I couldn’t see, couldn’t breathe, the sensation of that sack about my face constricting with each failed gasp overwhelmed every memory I’d ever made, forsook every imagined possibility of a future, dispelled whatever higher knowledge supposedly separated sentience from feral beasts, and I knew he was utterly impartial to all of it as my lungs burned, spine wrenching against restraints that offered no leeway. The weakness that crept up my limbs was a strange thing. I barely noticed it beneath the new form of darkness overtaking me, yet some whisper of frustration balked at how quickly my muscles began to fail, how deafening my heartbeat became as those frantic coughs faded beneath wet gurgles.
Still, there was some futile sense of denial, a disbelief promising me that he wouldn’t actually let me die; that this was merely some sick form of intimidation meant to break me, and I knew exactly how foolish that thought was as the water flooded my lungs.
-
Agony filled my chest, my head. Fire burned my sinuses and left my throat raw as my torso convulsed in violent coughs even as I strained for breath, begging my own body to grant me some small taste of air. It felt like waking; like I’d been asleep for ages, mind hazed beneath that fog of confusion.
“..ere yuh are… Come on back.” Was that voice familiar? I vaguely thought it shouldn’t be despite how my eyes automatically travelled toward it, unable yet to make out anything beyond a blurred shaped. “Can you tell me your name?” Were his words slurring, or was my hearing merely faltering beneath that disorientating weariness eager to drag me back into unconsciousness? I knew that question, though – it had long since become ingrained into my psyche from years of asking. What’s your name? What’s the date? Where are we, right now? Where…
My lips stumbled around an initial attempt at forming an answer but managed only a choked whimper beneath a hurt that left even strangled gasps crippling. That moment of physical hinderance was enough to grant the very beginnings of a clarity that threatened to break me as some distorted mockery of sensation slowly began to return; glimpses of soiled walls, the scent of putrid water, pain lancing through joints held fast about the hard surface beneath me, through flesh left raw and torn from how violently my body had struggled against restraints still binding my wrists and ankles, looped about my chest and stomach, and the fear that stole through me was like nothing I’d ever known.
In an instant, my heart began to race, the rhythm far too quick to not be a danger in itself, but I could spare no thought toward something so mundane as a heart attack as my every muscle began to convulse, the icy obstruction of adrenaline flooding my veins as logic and rationale faltered in the wake of memories.
“Damn… figured it’d figured take longer ‘en that.” He mumbled, and I froze at the bundle of still dripping cloth hanging from his hand, unable to either tear my gaze away nor stomach the sight of it. “‘ere’s how this works,” he started, utterly unmoved by how my body shied from him as he reached toward me with that cursed fabric. “Ain’t gotta go through any of that again if you don’t want to.” The way my every cell screamed against the feeling of that mask being pulled even halfway down my face left me thrashing anew, numb to any damage sustained from how desperately I found myself flailing against my bounds. “Just gotta answer my questions, an’ it all stops.”
There was no thought; no memory even of how to think as the first drops of water danced atop my forehead. My every muscle tightened, body wrenching away with more force than it could take. Something cracked. I didn’t feel it. My teeth ground together even as my jaw strained to open, to drag as much of that precious, stale air into my lungs as I could.
“Who are yuh working with?” Rage. There was no suffocating torrent of liquid. It was barely a splash, but he knew exactly how little work he needed to do to rend me into that hysterical frenzy that so effortlessly robbed me of all but my most ancient, primal instinct, and I loathed him for how quickly it worked, lips wrenching back into a snarl.
The next gush held none of that earlier restraint. Water filled my mouth and flooded my nose, instantly sending me into ragged, gagging coughs, body jerking in an effort to at least lean onto my side that I might rid my airway of that burning, frigid certainty of drowning.
“Who orchestrated the explosion?” I thought of the mercenary as another surge of water poured over me just long enough to leave me gasping.
How do I free him!
“Who was the target?” I don’t know if there were words in whatever scream I felt tearing through my throat, but he waited mere seconds, unmoved by my choked cries.
Tell me.
“Who placed the bombs?” His emotionless voice reverberated through the darkness, lifting the mask just clear of my lips after each question before dragging it back down in the wake of answers that left him wanting, and I could only flail atop that unyielding surface as he unleashed that frigid water again and again.
I thought of the hatred in my brother’s eyes as my mind flickered at the edges of suffocation.
“Who ordered the hit?”
Did I deserve this?
“Who’s behind the assassination attempt?”
Why didn’t he just kill me?
“Tell me who ordered the hit.”
Kill me.
“Who were you sent to kill?”
Kill me kill me kill me
“Who placed the bombs?”
His earlier boredom was beginning to turn impatient. My body barely managed to struggle anymore. Didn’t matter.
“Who ordered the hit?”
I wanted that darkness. Yearned for it… because anything was better than this endless torture, hours and seconds and years of drowning with no hope of it ever stopping, no sense of time, no sense of self.
“Who-”
The sudden flurry of sounds meant nothing. I’d long since lost any grasp on reality, more certain that I was already dead than I was that those harsh, broken wheezes voiced my own, failing attempts at breath. I don’t know when that sack had been removed nor what muttered pleas tumbled listlessly from numb lips. Flashes of grey and white armor held no meaning, nor did whispered words blaring through speakers, though I remembered some fleeting thought toward the futility of whispering into a mic.
Movement. It didn’t feel like that perceived sense of endlessly falling preceding loss of consciousness… It felt like… running? My eyelids bat against the illusion painted atop the black cloth I was so sure awaited me the instant I managed to truly see. It wasn’t until I tried to move that that madness returned. No restraints held my arms trapped behind me. No unyielding board pressed painfully into my back. I was held only by the arms looped beneath my knees and shoulders, and the instant I understood that, I fought with every hint of strength granted to me by that panic-induced insanity.
I couldn’t hear anything above the chorus of sudden shouts, focus trained solely on freeing myself of that near embrace. I’d barely begun to thrash before feeling the floor rise up to meet me, body instantly kicking out to distance myself from my captor until my heels slid useless atop muck-coated stone, doing nothing more than pressing my back more firmly into the wall behind me.
“…” Muffled words lost beneath the pounding of my heart and the rasp of air catching in too-moist lungs fluttering with hyperventilated breaths stolen between wet coughs. I tried to draw my arms between myself and the figure kneeling before me, but could barely convince my hands to twitch, flared fingers trembling mere inches above the ground.
“…! …ack! Come on, kid; come back!” His voice finally broke through that frenzy, and my eyes locked on his, every muscle freezing beyond that persistent shiver I couldn’t begin to quell. He seemed to hold his breath, waiting to see if I’d break again. My brows drew weakly together, thoughts too frantic to more than stare at him for several seconds.
“…W… Wol…” His shoulders sank at my stammered attempt to call his name.
“Right here, kid.” It was such a strange thing to hear the gentleness in his voice, but that lingering sense of wrong drew me further from the shattered recess of my mind, vaguely noting the four figures posted around us, and I didn’t need to see their helms to know who they were, that they had their weapons trained on the corridors stretching out at either side of me, ready to fire at the faintest hint of a threat. They’d found me… This was real… So, why couldn’t I free myself of that relentless fear, that deafening need to run, to find some dark corner and hide?
“I need to get you out of here.” He explained, words purposefully slowed in a way I should have taken offense to. In that moment, however, that slowness was the only reason I could make sense of them. Get out… They were going to get me out of here… but my body revolted from the very thought of letting him touch me again, of letting anyone touch…
“You can hold on to me, or I can carry you, but we can’t stay here.” I wanted to shout at that familiar, cold logic, the silent apology nestled in his hushed statement, frustration spiking at the weakness preventing my hands from clasping over my ears regardless how useless I knew the gesture to be.
“Hey – hey, look at me.” The guilt tainting his command made me want to scream even as my eyes automatically flicked back to his, some distant thought finally realizing he’d forgone protocol in favor of letting me see his face, helmet abandoned on the ground beside him. My name left his lips in a whisper, head ducking slightly to draw my unsteady gaze back toward him.
“We need to move.” My jaw tensed with curses and pleas and senseless shouts, despite my inability to hold enough breath to manage more than a stammered whimper, chest still seizing with half coughs from the phantom sensation of flooded lungs.
“Do you want me to sedate you?” He barely murmured the quiet offer, head ducking toward me. Did I… I thought of that blissful emptiness… that escape from this fear, from the pain of wounds I couldn’t remember sustaining, from the anger wrought by my own inability to force some semblance of control over myself, and, with a sob, I nodded. His expression darkened, but he said nothing as he returned the gesture.
“Close your eyes.” He whispered, and the tremble seizing through me redoubled, terror spiking at the threat of subjecting myself to that darkness. “You’re going to be alright, kid… Just close your eyes.” He promised… I’d never doubted him before… not like this… but how could I possibly believe him? I knew he could see how frightened I was, how lost I was in that fear; I knew he was counting every second wasted trying to guide me through this, how each of those seconds redoubled the risk of being caught, but he said nothing as I struggled to find myself through that panic, and he wasted no time when I finally managed to force my eyes shut.
The instant I felt the prick of needles, my body balked, managing to jump mere inches away, but his touch was already there, hand delicately catching my cheek as those fleeting reserves of strength abandoned me, muscles quickly going limp against him.
“Alright… I’ve got you… I’ve got you.” A final shiver darted down my spine as the warmth of his breath danced across my scalp, barely noting how carefully he eased me back into his arms, but the distant familiarity of finding myself nestled against him, of tasting his scent in my every stammered gasp even as I felt my mind begin to slip away was a comfort I clung to until even that faded.

Situation where a noble whumpee's servant draws them a bath, like usual but the bathwater has been tampered with (let's just say it's magic based).
As whumpee is taking a luxurious bath they start to feel relaxed and sleepy but more than usual, getting light headed sluggish and like their limbs are too heavy to move.
Servant returns with a bunch of towels, soaps, shampoo, a change of clothes etc. "Are you tired? I'll wash your hair for you, just relax."
Whumpee trusts them, always has since they were little. But Servant had always been bitter about the family and has been paid off to kidnap whumpee by whumper, or are doing so for their own other reasons.

Okay, so, two things:
One, does Leo ever get jealous or upset when he sees kids with loving and caring parents?
Two, maybe a fic where Leo hasn’t been feeling well all day and on his way home he sees a super sweet family with a dad and a cute giggly son, and for some reason his feverish brain combined with the sweetness sends him into a depression episode. And then he goes home and takes Benadryl for his fever and his anti depressants as well, and basically over-sedates himself, and Jon gets home later to find Leo almost completely out of it and he freaks out.
I know you’re doing the mini saga rn, but I was thinking maybe you could do this after?
Sorry if this request is too long!!!😭😭!!😭
I'm sorry it took forever to write this!! This poor fic has been in my drafts for too long, I'm so sorry!
----------------
Leo knew he was not supposed to covet things that weren't his. That had been a maxim of his father and during most days Leo still agreed to it, all trauma aside.
Except during the holidays. He wasn't sure what was it about the end of the year that brought up the ugliest parts of him. Maybe it was all the fake glee or the longer nights and shorter days or the fact he wasn't practicing nearly as much sports or the fact that consumerism was off the charts and even though he could afford things now, he didn't think he'd ever get rid of that feeling in the pit of his stomach when standing in a cashier line. Maybe it was all that put together.
Or maybe it was the drilling about Holiday Spirit. In his house that had meant discounted alcoholic eggnog and much screaming, his father calling him a "little elf", school being out for recess so him being stuck in a house with no heat and an incredibly pissed off man, who was drunk off his ass.
For everyone else, though, holiday spirit meant being more kind or loving or charitable. Right. Leo rolled his eyes as he watched his coworker boast about the charity he was helping at the end of the year.
There was also the fact that the "philanthropy works" that his colleagues liked to gloated about were more often than not directed at people who were just Leo, except seven years ago.
He pressed on his keyboard with a little more force, rubbing at his temples. He had a headache from all the smells permeating the office — Sandras' peppermint candle, Chuck's cinnamon rolls he had brought for everyone else, Dean's fucking overpowering cologne his girlfriend had gifted him — and the loud noise wasn't making his life any better.
Leo sighed, squinting at his screen. Normally he could do his job in his sleep. Research had always been his forte, even back in high school, and he knew he aced it, because his boss always planted him as the paralegal for the big clients, where the lawyer would need a lot of research help in a short period of time.
Today he was struggling to put two and two together, let alone figure out if there were any similar cases that could serve as their defense. His stomach grumbled and Leo decided he needed a break from Sandra and Dean's incessant bickering, getting up and going to the coffee machine.
"Hey Wagner," Chuck opened a little smile, "what's with the sour face?"
"Headache," Leo answered truthfully, grabbing the biggest paper cup and starting the coffee machine. Damn, he really needed one of these back at home, "it's fine, there's just forty minutes more."
"That sucks man, feel better," Chuck said, but didn't move, "do you have any plans for the holiday break?"
"That's only next month," Leo wrinkled his nose in distaste. Could people stop pre-gaming for December in the middle of fucking November? Halloween had just happened-
"Well, there's thanksgiving," Chuck shrugged, "in less than two weeks."
"Oh," Leo sighed, having completely forgotten thanksgiving. He didn't think he had ever celebrated that.
"Are you going back home?"
Ha!
Leo nearly snorted in his coffee cup, instead changing it halfway so it looked like he was just blowing off the steam, "no, there's n- No. It's just me and Jon, so I'll probably do whatever his plans are."
Which Leo didn't think he had any... Jonah's plans lately were solely eat, sleep, study, hand in his final works for graduation, work. Rinse repeat.
"Hope you guys have fun," Chuck smiled brightly, before side stepping him and walking back to his desk, "get a turkey or something."
"Or something," Leo grumbled, squeezing his eyes and shuddering violently. He was also freezing. He blamed that on Sandra, who just had to wear the fancy coat she got in the designer sale at Nordstrom, so the a/c was at stupidly low levels, for sure.
Even though he had said it was just forty minutes more, they dragged. By the time Leo managed to get out of the office, his headache had escalated significantly and his stomach was hurting, since all he had eaten all day was a pastry at lunch and copious amounts of coffee. He was freezing to the point of his teeth chattering and he it was only when he stepped out of the elevator, buttoning up his coat, that he realized most people didn't seem to be feeling that chilly.
Sandra poked his side, "Wagner, you mind?"
He had stopped right at the ID scan, so he quickly apologized, jumping to the side as she scanned her card and then looked over her shoulder at him, "are you alright?"
"What?" Leo squinted at her, the lights reflecting off her blonde hair.
"Are you feeling alright?" Sandra repeated, "you're quieter than usual, that's all."
"Yeah, uhm..." He shrugged, running his own ID over the scan and joining her as they walked to the parking lot, "I'm fine, I'm just freez-" he shut up, stunned into silence when his co-worker lightly touched his forehead, getting on her tiptoes to reach him.
"You're running a fever there, Wagner," she rolled her eyes, clicking her car keys, "are you alright to drive?"
"Yeah, of course!" His voice came out squeaky at the sudden display of care and Sandra shrugged, smiling at him.
"Alright, take care," she waved, moving away to her designated spot and Leo was left a little stunned into silence, before collecting himself and getting in his own car. He really needed to stop being stubborn and let Bella fix his radio like she had offered, because there was just a terrible silence the entire drive home.
Leo stopped at a red light, just a street away from home and rested his forehead on the steering wheel. Now that Sandra had pointed it out, he couldn't deny the fever. Everything hurt, the sound of the wind howling outside hurt, his head was pounding, the kid's squealing as they walked ahead of their parents on the street...
He watched as a little boy ran back to his father, in a ridiculously large coat. The kid barely reached his dad's hip, he couldn't be over four years old. He was blabbing, cheeks all red and Leo watched the dad let out a chuckle and grab the lapels of his son's coat, covering his face in kisses.
Someone honked behind him and Leo jumped, startled. He had missed the green light.
The remaining 5 minutes to his house, were dark five minutes. Not only because the clouds clumped together to start spilling snow, but because his thoughts started to run down a dangerous road.
This was what he hated the most about the holidays. How his dark thoughts creeped up on him with such ease, how much emphasis was there on family and love and how it highlighted that he was painfully alone in this world. There was no place to go for thanksgiving and there was no father to smooch his face and comfort him and none of the garbage that every single TV ad was showing now.
He avoided the first floor, not in the mood to force a smile for Matthew, and once he got home, Leo went straight to the bedroom, stripping out of his tux jacket and kicking off the shoes.
JD meowed, pushing the door ajar as she entered the room, climbing the bed and forcing herself on his lap even when he paid her no mind. He was too busy trying to undo his tie with one hand, the other one running through the mess of meds they kept in the bedside table drawer.
Vaguely Leo was aware that Jonah kept more meds in the first aid kit, but he couldn't remember where it was and his head was throbbing too much and he felt like fucking crying, so he decided not to go looking. They were out of paracetamol, but still had benadryl and Leo swallowed the little pink pill dry, before opening the drawer right under that one, where he kept his own stuff.
He always took his meds in the morning and then two before bed, but even thought it was only six PM, Leo decided to just taken them already. He wanted to sleep for fifty years, maybe sleep and just... Just stop existing all together.
Leo rubbed his face at the thought, letting out a groan, and his cat let out a meow, forcing her head in the space between his arms.
"Hey," he sighed, scratching her behind the ears, "hey, sweetheart, it's okay. I'm fine. I'm not doing that..." he reassured JD, pulling on the blankets so he could crawl under them. Jonah had left the heater on, but the apartment was still freezing.
JD meowed, chewing on his now undone tie and Leo wrapped an arm around her, thinking that maybe he should get out of the office clothes.... Then fell asleep.
---------------
Jonah wasn't a festivities type of man. He had never been, not even back when he was a teenager and he definitely wasn't the type now, when he was so stressed about graduation.
Yet, he knew Leo was acting pouty for the past ten days and his bet was that it was related to the holiday season. It was very unlike Leo to not openly complain about what was upsetting him, unless it was something close to his heart, when he closed off like a clam.
So if Leo wanted Holidays, Jonah was going to give him Holidays. Hopefully with a better outcome than Halloween, Jon cringed at the thought.
"What is this?" Jon asked, as Wendy reached inside her car and pushed a big tupperware in his hand.
"Torrone," she said, fishing one of the little white squares, "it's an Italian candy, traditional around Christmas. Vin's mom sells them, but she made a huge first batch and sent him. Here's some for you and Leo."
"But Ma made them for Vince..."
"Vince has half my fridge filled with these," Wendy rolled her eyes, getting in the driver's seat of her car, "just remember to get a picture of Leo eating it so we can send it to ma."
"Alright Dee, bye," Jon sniffed one the little white bars, before turning around to get in his own car. That had been the start of his Christmas mini spree and the reason why he was going up to their apartment now carrying not just the tupperware, but a bunch of little boxes of fairy lights, a wreath and a bag of groceries to make a black forest cake.
Jon wasn't daft, he knew Leo was being terribly considerate with the fact he had all but put their whole relationship in the backburner so he could focus in the school work. He needed to woo the guy a little bit.
"Leo?" Jonah pushed the door open, before crouching down to grab all the items again, "Leo, I got a bunch of shit I think you'll like..." he thought nothing of it when there wasn't an answer, instead starting to put things away. He found a good jar for Ma's little torrones and checked on JD's food bowl, frowning as he realized Leo hadn't fed her yet.
"Leo, did you feed JD? Her bowl is empty..." he said, but still got no answer. Jonah didn't wait for one, shaking the little empty dish until he heard their cat trotting back to the kitchen, then filling it up. She snaked between his legs, purring as Jon scratched her behind the ear and watched her eat for a little bit.
Only then did he frown at Leo's full absence, walking back to their room. Jonah wasn't sure what he expected, but it certainly wasn't his boyfriend buried under all their blankets, heavily asleep. He checked his watch. Eight o'clock.
"That's early," Jonah whispered, moving closer to get a good look at his face, "Leo?"
There was no answer, not a snore, nothing. Leo's blonde hair was peaking out and so was the top half of his face, but that was it.
Jon sighed, a little bummed he was already asleep, but deciding against waking him, tiptoeing back out of the room. JD was still in the kitchen, happily munching on her treat and Jonah crouched down next to her again, "why did Leo go to bed so early, do you know?" he asked, causing the cat to stop eating for a second, before she went back in.
He put away all the groceries, then went through the fridge. They meal prepped and Jonah frowned as he realized there were exactly as many frozen dishes as there had been when he left the house earlier that day.
Happy that he had found an excuse to wake Leo up, Jonah got two containers out and put them to defrost, while walking back to the room. Leo hadn't moved a muscle and he didn't stir even when Jon sat on his side of the bed, brushing his bangs.
"Leo..." he whispered, shaking him lightly, "baby wak-" Jonah interrupted himself, noticing Leo was still wearing his office clothes. That was very unusual... So was the low heat rolling off of him.
"Goddammit Leo," Jon sighed, touching his face and feeling the low grade fever. He shook him a little harder, "Leo, wake up. You gotta eat something..."
Still nothing. By now, normally, the blonde would be blinking awake.
Jonah frowned, pushing the blankets down and shaking him a little more, "Leo, wake up..." his voice raised at the end as alarm bells started to go through his mind, so he all but rattled the other man, finally causing Leo to open his eyes.
Jon was about to let out a relieved sigh, but he didn't have the chance, as Leo slurred something unintelligible and then passed right back asleep.
Jonah rattled him again, harshly, and this time he got no reaction, not even a whine.
"Leo!" he called, leaning in so he could feel his boyfriend's breathing, planting two fingers to his jugular in search of a pulse. His own heart was drumming in his ears, so it took Jonah a second before he could differentiate what was his, what was Leo's.
The blonde's heartbeat were slow...Too slow. His breathing was weirdly timed.
Jonah felt vaguely dizzy as he looked around the room, in search of his coat. He had left his cellphone inside the pocket... He almost got sick as he saw the three different medications sitting on Leo's bedside table.
His usual Zoloft and Ambien and... Benadryl?
Jon frowned at the label, before shaking the antidepressant case and ambien. Both were still full, Leo hadn't taken more than he should... Or at least, it didn't look like he had, not on purpose.
"Baby," Jonah patted his cheeks, with more force than he'd normally use, "baby, open your eyes for me. Wake up-" he bit the inside of his cheek, before deciding that fuck that and splashing a little bit of water on his boyfriend's face.
Leo blinked, confused and drowsy, "why am I wet..." he groaned, attempting to go back to sleep, but Jonah stopped him, patting his cheek again.
"Leo, hey, look at me- How many pills did you take?"
"Uhm?" he yawned, his eyes starting to roll back again.
"LEO!" Jonah shook him vehemently, forcing the blonde to wake up, "how. many. pills?"
Leo groaned, rubbing his eyes, "Jon...?"
"Yes, baby, it's me," Jonah shook him again, holding the pill bottles in front of his face, "how many pills?"
"One," Leo slumped back against the pillow, "just one."
"Each?"
The blonde nodded, yawning again, "I don't feel so good..."
"I know, baby," Jon grabbed his shoulders again, forcing him to sit up once more, "c'mon, we're going to the ER."
"What...?" Leo groaned, slumping forward so his forehead met Jon's shoulder, "no, I'm not sick, I'm just... I'm just off..."
"Yeah, because you took two sedatives and your antidepressants," Jonah scoffed, looking one of Leo's arms around his neck, "c'mon, baby, get up."
"Jon, no, stop-" Leo weakly tried to shove off his chest, but his legs were almost jelly under him and the only thing keeping him up was Jonah holding him tightly, "I wanna sleep..."
"Nope," Jon dragged him out of the room, "no sleep for you until a psychiatrist checks you out."
"No!" Leo shoved at his arm and then stumbled back, falling sit on the edge of the bed. Jonah glared at him, feeling his own temper flare up, fueled by the sheer stress.
The stress of the situation, the panic of finding Leo like that, but also the overall stress that had been Halloween, followed by Leo's appendicitis, followed his quickly approaching deadlines...
"You're getting in the car even if I have to fucking carry you, Leo," Jonah glared at him, "get up."
If he expected to get a rise out of the blonde, he didn't. Instead Leo planted a hand on his chest and fell back on the bed, facing the ceiling as he groaned, "Jon, I feel really weird..."
"Yes, get up-"
"No, there's... There's someone standing in our hallway," Leo said and Jonah glanced at the open door and saw nothing, not even JD.
"There isn't, baby, its in your head..." he grabbed his boyfriend's arm, pulling him up again, "c'mon-"
"No, they're gonna get me."
"Ah fuck's sake," Jonah sighed, although while this was scary, he much rather have Leo fighting him and responsive than dead to the world, "no one is going to get you, Leo..."
All he got as an answer was a whimper.
"Fuck," Jon whispered, leaving the room in two steps to grab the coat he had hung behind the door and his phone, already dialing 911.
They asked him how many pills Leo had taken and upon Jonah's answer, a lady said "It doesn't sound like a suicide attempt, we're going to transfer you to poison control. Please stay on the line and stay calm."
A suicide attempt. Jonah's mouth dried as he sat right next to Leo on the bed, wrapping a hand around his wrist and feeling his pulse, barely listening as the poison control responder said that at this dosage going to the ER wasn't necessary. To keep checking on him and get loads of liquids on Leo, take him to emergency if he started throwing up or struggling to breathe.
Jon's ears were still ringing as he crouched down next to Leo again, now holding a glass of cold water, with a straw sticking out.
"C'mon, baby, just one sip, it's gonna help..."
Leo groaned again, but after a little more prodding, he did open his mouth and took the drink. Apparently he had been thirsty, because he drained the entire cup without much of Jonah's prodding.
He pulled back, looking slightly more awake, "Jon..." Leo clumsily grabbed his face, "something's wrong."
"I know, Leo," Jonah pulled back from the clumsy face squeeze, planting a kiss on the blonde's brow, "you'll feel better in the morning... Well, probably hungover as fuck, but you'll feel better in the morning..." his voice caught at the end and Leo pulled back, frowning.
"Are you sad...?"
"No, I'm fine, I'm fine," Jonah cleared his throat, "why did you take the benadryl?"
"What?" Leo blinked, struggling to keep his eyes open, "get into bed..."
"The third medication, Leo," Jonah raised the little box in front of his eyes, "why did you take it?"
"My head hurt..." Leo yawned, "had a fever... Couldn't find the right-" he yawned again, tugging on Jon's shirt to pull him closer, "the right one."
Jonah let out a little sigh of relief, allowing himself to get pulled into a clumsy, weird hug, the best that Leo's half sedated brain could do.
"I love you," he whispered, voice muffled by Leo's shirt and the blonde let out a hum, sounding like he was falling right back asleep. Still, Jonah did hear a faint, "love you too" said in return.

NSFW - DARKER THAN USUAL // ORAL SEX MENTION
I want to be sedated before I’m devoured.
I want a female pred to take me home, drug me, and sit me in bed with her as she feels me up, caressing my exposed skin. I want to watch her dip between my thighs and eat me out, as I murmur to myself in high bliss, feeling the pleasure increase while she warms up her tongue.
I want to fall asleep in her arms, my mind hazy and weak, as she plants kisses to my neck and calls me cute… telling me that she could just eat me right up…
I want to wake up confused, not knowing where I am, until I look down and see that she’s swallowed me up to my hips. The warm, straining pull of her esophagus pulses around my legs, which are already tucked away inside of her tight, slimy belly.
I want to struggle without really thinking, not completely aware of what’s happening to me. She flicks her tongue across my crotch and I whine as my mind tries to comprehend the situation. But another firm swallow puts me in my place.
I lie still like a good meal as my hips are pulled down into her body; soon she’s up to my torso, my chest, my neck… and before I know it, I’m completely tucked inside of her stomach, feeling the liquids wash lazily over me. My naked body is coated in slime. I’m dazed and confused, and I groggily kick out across the slick bedding of my new home.
Meanwhile my devourer pats her belly, chuckling at my sluggish movements inside of her. She licks her lips and walks downstairs, her gut wobbling as she descends the steps, disorienting me even further.
I can’t think straight with all the heat around me, all the juices sloshing over. The drug is still prominent in my system. I moan as the slick walls tighten around me, but instead of trying to push them away, I rub up against my pred’s soft stomach like an affectionate kitten.
On the outside she just barely feels my weak movements. She hiccups, looking down at her gut and running her fingers over my form. She coos to me, teases me… tells me how much I’ll enjoy gurgling through her intestines, ending up as padding on her hips…
My pred makes herself some soup and slurps it down hungrily, adding more warmth to her core, bathing me in overstimulation. I squirm in bliss as her stomach growls possessively and churns around me…
By the end of the night I’m packed so tight in her belly, entirely out of it… I’ve come so many times and what’s left of my consciousness has completely submitted to her guts. I can hear my devourer moaning in pleasure, burping softly.
Maybe she feels better about it this way, knowing that as I digest, I can’t feel anything but numbing pleasure. The drug makes me experience absolute heaven down in that belly, and come morning, I’m no more distinguishable from the soup in her stomach… *gurgle* <3

Part 2: They Thought He was the Villain
CONTINUATION :)
Note- Sorry the partner isn't in this one but there is a good amount of mentioned torture, non con manhandling, nonsexual nudity etc... BUT she will return!
Part 1
---
When they took the hood off of him he was in a concrete room. He kept his eyes on his knees on the floor, not daring to bring them any higher. At least the tears had stopped, dried salt on his cheeks now.
“Villain, you stayed hidden for quite some time. I have to say I’m impressed. I didn’t know you were capable of that.”
The boots in front of him were familiar. He knew these boots. He would never forget them. It was foolish of him to think that he could leave them in the past.
A hand reached down and took his chin to lift it. He closed his eyes, clenching them shut.
“Look at me Villain, open your eyes.”
The fingers gripped tighter, verging on painful… a warning.
“Open them.”
So he did. In front of him, better illuminated, was the personification of his nightmares, the Captain.
“You know…. I couldn’t have shocked you back there. But it was good to know you still respond to the threat. Perhaps our training was more effective than I thought.”
He couldn’t have… But the words- the feeling, so visceral. It hadn’t crossed his mind to not obey, nothing had in fact. Just pure fear. And now shame. Coiling deep in him, so pathetic.
And now the collar was back too, the Captain linked a finger through it, Villain winced at the touch, all to aware of how easy it was to set off.
“You’re quieter now. I like that. I wonder if that pretty girl liked that. Does she know what you did? Or more to the point, what I did to you?”
He shook his head minutely, pathetic tears threatening again.
“Should have known that would you ruin more lives while you were out, more than your own… Good thing we’ve got you back home, huh?”
He blinked back the tears, trying not to make a sound but not lifting his hands to wipe them away. Not that he could.
“I asked you a question, what do you say?”
“Yes, sir-“ Villain whispered back with a quivering voice.
The grip tightened again. He choked on his congestion trying to speak, “I- am happy to be home -sir.” Tears wouldn’t stop falling.
He sighed and paced the room a few steps away from him, “…But you’re going to have to be punished for what you did- all the time and resources wasted on bringing you back. You know that right? How wasteful you’ve been?”
He closed his eyes again, tears spilling out silently as he nodded.
“Mhm." Then he paused for a few beats, perhaps savoring the moment, "If you don’t fight it, it may be easier, it’s up to you.”
It wouldn’t be easier, he knew that.
“Bring him over to intake. We will begin in the morning once he’s processed.”
Rough hands grabbed him, pulling him up off his knees and dragging him forward. He trained his eyes back downwards, too familiar with what would come next.
___
First they removed the chains. Then his clothes- just a pair of boxers and thin pajama pants anyway. Then he was chained to the shower room wall for the power washing.
He wish he didn’t scream.
—-
After:
The institutional lice powder,
Shaving his head- the long inches of freedom sheared away to the floor,
Dental and cavity checks,
... Then the first dose.
—-
“Villian, you know how this goes. Take it.”
The guard was impatient, irritated when Villain didn’t open his mouth for the tablets to be poured in.
But Villain couldn’t open his mouth. It wasn’t a choice so much as a sheer inability to. He wasn’t crying anymore, he was too dehydrated for that. But he wouldn’t, he couldn’t… willingly take it again.
“They said he was already trained.”
A radio screech filled the room, “Medication reinforcement for Prisoner 3620.”
There was no retreating, he was already surrounded.
The steel door buzzed and clicked.
—-
Everything else went quickly after that. He fought, or at least he tried.
They beat him until he was wheezing on the floor and then pried open his mouth, poured the pills in, and closed it for him, holding his nose closed and massaging his throat to force him to swallow.
He wasn’t given clothing yet, that was to be earned.
—-
Then he was alone.
Not that it mattered. He was too disoriented to even know that. But he knew there was a grief.
He was home again.
—-
“Villain, I am surprised you refused your medication yesterday, I thought you liked it, a pathetic thing like you, the sedation must be a relief.”
His left cheek was still on the concrete floor, eyes vaguely unfocused staring ahead at the boots again.
“But then again, I knew a little obedience training would be in order, I work miracles but you did weasel out after all...
Don’t worry though, you’ll never want to do that again.”
He blinked.
A boot caught him in the stomach.
“Are you listening, Prisoner 3620? I am going to make you good again, better than before and I am going to enjoy it… You might not though.” There was a familiar smile. A familiar pleased voice.
“Get him up.”
Two guards shifted him to sitting against the wall of his cell. Again, the hand under his chin, so he made eye contact. Like he was trained.
The man kept speaking but the words warped and muddled in the air, the medication was taking him under again.
Then the beating began. Again.
Then he was wet, soaking and cold. The beating continued. There was blood in the water.
The voices continued. He tried to drag himself away at one point. Then the shocks started. He stopped trying to get away. He thought he remembered how this went. Someone laughed. Then black.
Then there were the boots again, he didn’t know how he got there, he couldn’t quite focus.
Shock- He understood this. They wanted him to pay attention.
He was being dragged somewhere. He wouldn’t get into the chair, more shocks. Why did he have to be bad. He didn’t like being bad.
He woke up in a chair, strapped in. How had he gotten there?
There were men in white coats. Another injection.
Another?
“My shifts ending in 20, up for a drink after?”
“Sure, Marie’s at her sisters tonight with the kids.”
“Poor bastard, we’re going to have to hose off the chair after.”
A laugh.
“Get Simmons to do it.”
He was on the ground. Boots.
He was wet. Soaked through.
Blood or water?
“Villian, one last time, will you do as the captain says or would you like more shocks?”
What did the captain say?
He was drowning, he couldn’t breath.
He was on the ground.
Why didn’t he have any clothes on?
Where was F-?
“If he won’t eat, force feed, he doesn’t get out that easy.”
Ground. Something sharp.
Boots.
Electricity.
Water.
Boots.
Crying.
And crying.
“Pathetic piece of shit. How’d he ever manage to get out in the first place?”
“Beats me, but when it happened, the Captain went ballistic, something in him snapped. Obsessed with the bastard… accidentally killed a different prisoner right after.”
“You think he’ll kill this one?”
“No, but the poor bastard would be lucky if he did.”
Shock. Puddle of water.
Someone was stroking his head. Someone was combing his wet blood soaked hair with their fingers.
“That’s it... attaboy, you’re learning again.”
He groaned a small pitiful noise.
“You can be good, you’re showing me that right now. Mhm… Good boy.”
His head wasn’t on the concrete and there were no boots.
His head was on khaki. A leg.
“Ah-ah. Don’t move.”
A hand gripped his hair. It hurt. A warning.
He thought it had been buzzed? When was that?
He stopped. And his breathing stopped too. But the bone deep pain in every inch of his body persisted.
“I bet you wish you were dead right now.” The voice mused playfully.
Did he? It made sense, maybe he did.
The hand went back to stroking, “Too bad you’re mine. And you’re going to stay here forever... Never allowed to die. Never allowed to leave.”
He thinks he remembers this. Something like this before.
He’s home. Isn’t he?
