@choaticgypsyvicking asked for tokoyami and mineta, thanks!!
Alright I’ll admit I used to be a big mineta hater, I have been a fan of mha for a long time and back then he had pretty much zero redeeming qualities. But much like the other characters in this series with terrible misdeeds (endeavor bakugo) he has certainly changed for the better albeit more subtly. I still think he has a long ways to go and needs to give a formal apology for his behavior but with 1-a’s help I’m sure he’ll get there.
Mineta’s character development has been very subtle and I’m not an expert on him so if I get anything wrong feel free to correct me. Mineta is loud whiny and annoying, he does this because of his need for attention and recognition. He is willing to get into trouble just so people will notice him, even bad attention is enough for him. He is naturally fearful but his strength to overcome the fear makes him courageous. If you get to the root problem that is mineta’s horrible upbringing (being taught that women are the devil) and helping him get over his self esteem issues he can start to mature as a person, which seems to have already begun.
Just after the stain arc in the very first school briefs (which technically isn’t canon but the characterization is accurate for the time) mineta refers to dark shadow as Tokoyami’s “pet” which obviously pisses both of them off and shadow tries to attack him. But most recently during this final war arc (manga spoilers!) mineta-fucking-minoru is the one to distract afo from stealing dark shadow! MINETA is the one to finally declare just how IMPORTANT of a person Shadow is!! He knows how much tokoyami cares about them!! Mineta went from thinking that dark shadow was just some pet to understanding they are much more than that. Mineta shows other moments of remorse like when he apologized to shoji for calling him an octopus as well. In fact mineta’s whole demeanor has changed since the gunga mountain villa raid where he has become much more serious, I would imagine he was highly traumatized by Midnight’s death.
Tokoyami is someone with strong morals, I think he found mineta just as deplorable as everyone else but remained cordial towards him. He becomes a large deciding figure in mineta’s path to redemption. Once again tokoyami is known for his wisdom and becomes a shoulder for mineta to lean on. He’s willing to listen to his problems without judgement and offers reasonable advice to his issues. Minoru also learns more about tokoyami and shadow in turn by listening to them banter back and forth and slowly come to understand their dynamic. I think tokoyami is particularly skilled at being strict with rules that mineta needs to follow. He would be willing to help mineta get new hobbies so he can share his music skills and help him learn to play. I think a ukulele would be small enough for him.
Dark Shadow never really likes anyone they meet at first but mineta was the equivalent of pond scum to them. As neighbors it was shadows job to make sure he stayed out of trouble and they were very successful at their job, scaring and pranking him when the chance arose. Dark shadow enjoyed tormenting him enough that they reluctantly began to tolerate him, surprisingly mineta also tolerated this behavior probably because he liked the attention and is desperately lonely. In my opinion dark shadow and mineta are actually very similar with their desperation for love and affection causing them to make bad decisions so they find common ground here. Dark shadow probably is the first person minoru thinks of as a friend (besides kaminari) and gladly allows them to boss him around so they can hang out together. They end up reading manga together, playing games, and drawing (which mineta is superior at). They also get into trouble together stealing food and pulling pranks on others but they both get punished by tokoyami. Eventually shadow realizes their aggressive treatment towards him isn’t very justified or kind and they tone back the targeted name calling. They’re still a little shit though :)
In the end shadow and mineta are surprisingly close friends while tokoyami is a friendly with him as he is with everyone else which is still quite a lot.

Mizutori’s bakudeku fanfiction master list [complete works]
Really really good writing by these incredible authors. In no particular order! These are all Top!Bakugou and Bottom!Deku. If A/B/O dynamics then it’s Alpha!Bakugou and Omega!Deku. Yes, I have preferences.
Canon World – until 15k
What The Fuck Did You Just Call Me? by reading_raindrop | 8,303 | Izuku starts calling him Bakugou and it pisses the explosive teen off a lot more than he thought it would.
Oh right, you were a little sh*t by SaysiWrites | 5,653 | When Midoriya Izuku gets hit by an age-reversion Quirk, the last thing anyone expected to find out is that Toddler-Izuku is a little shit. Except for one Bakugou Katsuki, who has seen this phase one too many times already. (Bonus+ the entire Little Sh*t (Kidfic) series)
Do Not Disturb by surveycorpsjean | 10,010 | Apply enough force, and something is bound to break.
And Atlas fell by supercrunch | 15,185 | They move in together, after a while. Katsuki joins Best Jeanist and Izuku trains under Gran Torino. They still take comfort in each other every day, curl up in bed and kiss and talk about how life is going. Their live are tumultuous, after all, what with villains and training and rescuing people every week. It’s nice to have something certain. At the end of a day filled with violence and adrenaline, Izuku knows he can come home to someone concrete. It’s perfect. Being a hero is scary and grueling and uncertain, but this part is just right. And then, one day, a child dies in Izuku’s arms.
be loved by bonnia | 5,403 | The kidnapping incident leaves bakugou traumatised about being touched on the back of his neck, and midoriya decides to take matters into his own hands.
Big Protein by Mysecretfanmoments | 13,683 | Bakugou Katsuki has a thriving hero career, an agent to manage his famous attitude, and absolutely zero romantic interest in anyone. With the exception of his favourite health food joint refusing to expand to his city, his life is pretty damn perfect—so why does a viral video revealing Deku's stash of dirty mags involving him and Deku together turn everything upside-down?
Chocolate cake and resin preserved flowers by Anoksun | 11,396 | Izuku loses his memories. Katsuki struggles not to lose Izuku too.
Twin Stars by theperksofbeinglarissa | 8,435 | When Deku saves a woman's life, her quirk is accidentally activated. Her quirk? She reveals a person's soulmate. A star-shaped mark appears on Midoriya's left arm... and on Bakugou's as well. Kirishima is the only one who knows that Bakugou is Midoriya's soulmate, and Bakugou isn't taking the news very well. Can the twin stars of class 1-A work out their differences and find their happy ending?
Unhealthy Fixations by Thesis | 12,522 | Izuku is an adult who knows better than to crush on his childhood bully. AND YET.
Like the Moon by osakakitty | 14,781 | Katsuki Bakugo is having constant, erotic dreams about Izuku Midoriya. He isn’t sure why, but they won’t go away. In order to make them stop, he needs to figure out what Izuku Midoriya means to him.
Worth a Second Shot by cinnabee | 13,080 | Katsuki and Izuku celebrate registering as a Hero Duo together with a big party. What could go wrong?
Like Something Out of A Shoujo Manga by Merrywetherweather | 2,971 | Deku ends up in a rather interesting quirk accident, one that triggers flag events as if he were the protagonist of an otome game.
Canon World – 15k++
Blood Moon by lalazee | 94,860 | The Thank-Fuck-We-Aren’t-Dead Sex had started then, and had never really stopped. Then came the feelings and the fights. The ego, the pride, the jealousy. And then there was Us.
The Way You Used To Do by edema_ruh | 669,463 | During a battle, Midoriya gets hit by a villain whose quirk detaches his soul from his body. Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Just Like Breathing by MD_Daydreamer | 35,423 | Izuku got engaged. He didn't mind. If that made Uraraka happy, he could do it. He thought his life wouldn't change much. But then, Kacchan went to live in the USA.
briar roses (and hundred years of sleep) by vannral | 15,951 | In which Izuku is hit by a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Quirk, Class 3-A tries to find his True Love and get them to kiss him, and Katsuki’s very angry about it all.
"what's your type?" by sapphicflower | 20,192 | In order to increase their popularity rankings as up and coming pro heroes, Izuku and Katsuki participate in the most popular late night talk show for hero duos - ‘Heroes Rising!’. They’re killing it, obviously, because they know each other from inside and out. Until one question stumps the two of them: “What is your hero partner’s type?”
and it was Just Right by cinnabee | 23,759 | Katsuki spends two years post-graduation in a furious one-sided competition with his childhood friend and rival's promotional photos - until they finally run into each other, and, well. You shouldn't believe everything you see in magazines. A love story about size differences.
Notice Me, Nerd by useless_donut | 40,000 | Bakugou is in love with Midoriya. He doesn’t hide it, in fact it’s so painfully obvious that the entire class of 3-A has him figured out in a matter of months (days, in some cases). Too bad Midoriya is the most oblivious motherfucker out there, and Bakugou is too damn stubborn to actually ask him out. A love story as witnessed by the class of 3-A.
in your dreams, nerd! by sapphicflower | 37,639 | In a strange and unexpected set of circumstances, Izuku and Katsuki find themselves sharing their dreams together whenever they happen to fall asleep at the same time. Being hopelessly in love with each other, they don’t mind it all that much. What better way to spend time with your crush than in a stupidly vivid dream?
Hear Me by my_name_is_Levi | 22,419 | It wasn’t as if nightmares were uncommon for the freshman class of Yuuei. They’d seen plenty of things, heard and felt and witnessed enough travesty in their lives to last them a lifetime. But Midoriya Izuku was screaming, and no one, not even Bakugo Katsuki could ignore it.
Bridges by supercrunch | 18,018 | Bakugou is signed up for a Calvin Klein modeling gig. The thing is, they really do need the money. And Katsuki's technically the leader of this bunch of morons, so he finds himself taking the job even though his pride will never recover. And even though nobody thought to tell him that he'd be working with his ex-boyfriend. You know, the cute freckled guy from high school who went and broke his heart. So, yeah. This whole situation kind of sucks.
objective truth by mamalade | 15,390 | Izuku gets hit with a truth quirk, as one does. He seems to be handling it well—until Katsuki shows up.
catharsis by dollcewrites | 15,071 | It's been six years since Izuku graduated. It's been six years since he confessed to his childhood friend; his classmate and his inspiration. It's been six years since he deleted Bakugou's number, asked his friends not to mention the name, spent every last effort of his heart turning off the TV and averting his eyes from the newspapers. It's been six, long, long years since he gave up on Katsuki Bakugou ever loving him back.
Here here, my friends and me (You are my familia) by Jeka | 128,832 | Bakugou Katsuki has made a great job of ignoring the fact that he is tragically in love with Deku, someone who could never love him like that and let's face it, he doesn't deserve. Now that he can't ignore it anymore, he has to find a way to keep his childhood friend and move on for his own sake. Or so he had thought, maybe he can have Deku, after all. Izuku has everything he always wanted in life. But suddenly he has to navigate the most important relationship in his life through different eyes.
Canon World – Jealous!
Hands Off by SaysiWrites | 7,140 | When a new girl at school starts flirting with Bakugou, his friends quickly become invested in the idea of their friend experiencing love - even if he doesn't seem at all interested in her. Surfaces by surveycorpsjean | 25,225 | Katsuki has a new girlfriend, but something isn't right. As impossible as it is, Izuku can't help but wonder what it'd be like to be called Katsuki's girl.

Deku's Already Fucking Taken by asdfjkl129 | 20,704 | 5 times people don't realize that Deku is already in a very happy relationship and try their hand at asking him out, and then in Bakugou's unique and special style, get very firmly corrected, +1 time where no correction is needed.
His by sister_elric | 6,206 | Izuku would like to consider himself a pretty level headed individual. Sure, he had the occasional tunnel vision, especially when it came to training. And hero work. And Kacchan. But, overall, Midoriya felt as though he typically kept his cool. Well, maybe that was a stretch. But, at the very least he could understand his own emotions. So, it surprised even him when an unfamiliar emotion coursed through him as a first year approached his boyfriend, Katsuki.
Down the Red Line by MinervaHope | 7,804 | Izuku has been able to see the red strings of fate since birth. It's no surprise that his is connected to Katsuki.
Canon World – Fake Relationship Goes Wrong
how he should’ve known (and how it turned out) by vannral | 43,918 | In which Katsuki and Izuku pretend to be a couple to avoid journalists, the plan backfires magnificently because of course it does, and the act goes on. Includes feelings, pining, domestic fluff and jealousy.

Canon World – Friends With Benefits (?)
Four Times Bakugou Katsuki Doesn't Intend to Sleep With Midoriya Izuku (And the One Time that He Does) by fallingraine85 | 17,601 | He hadn’t planned for any of this. He isn’t about to go delving into the ball of yarn that is Midoriya Izuku’s heart; he isn’t equipped to try and untangle and make sense of it all. He isn’t about to try to analyze how he’s feeling about all of this, either.... How many times can you repeat the same mistake?
We Wear Chains on the Weekend by surveycorpsjean | 35,086 | Well, in a day of revelations, it turns out that Izuku isn't as vanilla as Katsuki previously thought. Unfortunately, that fascinating discovery is overshadowed by Izuku's dumbassery, because he has zero concept of aftercare."Don't go to anyone else," Katsuki says, because screw it. He can do a better job anyways. Or; Katsuki finds Izuku on a bad drop.
Just for Now by Shiro_Kabocha | 48,135 | Katsuki's parents are out of town over a school break and to keep him from getting up to any shenanigans, they ask Izuku to house sit with him. What are two teenaged boys to do when left alone to their own devices? (Bonus+ the entire Just for Love series)

Bluebird by EtherealBeing | 53,108 | Dialing a wrong number was no unusual occurrence. Everyone did it once in a while, and Katsuki was well aware of that fact. However, possessing this knowledge made it no less aggravating for him to discover — a full two minutes into his rant about his day — that he’d been venting his frustrations to a complete stranger. As if that wasn't enough, said stranger was also inexplicably determined to hear his story to its end.
Someone Borrowed by mynameis152 | 138,996 | It felt like hours that he stared at Izuku, coming to terms with the fact that a man, his childhood best friend, whom he hadn’t seen since their senior year of high school, was there in front of his very eyes. Then his brows furrowed and his jaw clenched before he uttered through gritted teeth the very name Izuku had longed to hear for years. “Deku.”
Dark Side of the Sun by Synnie | 51,598 | Staying up too late playing video games, Kirishima wasn't expecting to get an urgent call begging for help. Next thing he knew, he was letting his classmate Izuku Midoriya take refuge in his apartment - without consulting his always angry roommate.

The green-haired, freckled, artsy son of a bitch with his dumb pun t-shirts and paint-stained hands he can’t fucking keep to himself. Katsuki can’t leave a single assignment or paper out in his room because that idiot will just grab anything to draw on it. He’s like a shark that can’t stop swimming else it’ll die – he can’t stop drawing. Ever.
Don't Play Pretend by SweetSide | 10,103 | Actor AU: Deku and Bakugou get the leading roles for an upcoming TV Drama. They weren’t aware that they would be working with each other for who knows how long. It would’ve been completely fine if they weren’t exes.

A/B/O – Quirks
Mark Me. Make Me Yours. by decadentbynature | 10,062 | Midoriya is the only Omega at UA and he's been hiding it well but there's one issue that threatens to expose him: his attraction to an Alpha, Bakugo. After being told to give some paperwork to Bakugo, Midoriya lets him into his dorm room and is immediately overwhelmed by his scent. Unable to help himself, he gives in to his urges, only to be discovered by Bakugo but instead of becoming enraged, Bakugo decides to give Midoriya exactly what he wants
Claim Me by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) | 114,449 | Being an Alpha has nothing to do with Katsuki's success as a Pro-Hero, the same way Deku's Omega status hasn't kept him from becoming Number Two. Secondary gender doesn't mean anything nowadays and “mating” is an antiquated practice. So when Izuku, his rival, asks Katsuki to Claim him in the middle of the night, there is only one logical thing to say. “What the fuck?”
Change of Plans by Mikacrispy | 185,965 | Alpha Pro Hero Bakugou Katsuki never planned to get married to some random omega but what he wants isn't an option anymore. One for All wielder Midoriya Izuku has suffered injustice too many times and doesn't plan in allowing his secondary gender to dictate how he must live his life. Falling in love was never in the plans.
Going Feral For You by ANGIE_fic | 17,977 | Bakugou has an aggression problem that might have to do with his Alpha. His job is on the line because of it. So what do you do with a pent up Alpha? Yes.Rut. (Quirkless Izuku)

Baby's First Bloom by ContraryBee | 44,945 | Izuku blooms for Katsuki one warm day in their third year of middle school. What follows is both boys learning about themselves, their bond, and the society they live in.
As Fate Would Have It by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) | 88,737 | Katsuki Bakugo had plenty of reasons why he wasn't mated yet, not that he was going to explain why to just anyone. But now, Ground Zero was running out of time. If he didn't find someone soon, he'd lose his position as a Pro-Hero and he'd never get to be #1. So, when he finds out there's a male Omega recently arrested for prostitution that's headed to prison if he too doesn't get a mate…well it must be fate. (Quirkless Izuku)
A/B/O – No Quirks
Gravity by warschach | 71,477 | Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round. Not that he cares, pfft. (Fine, he cares.)
Nine Months by greatcloudninja | 23,303 | Omega Midoriya Izuku connects with Alpha Bakugou Katsuki through an online singles ad. Izuku pays Katsuki to help him with his heat, ending up pregnant in the process. What follows is a pregnancy filled with ups and downs, but whatever hurdles come their way, they can make it through together.
The long dark by Ominous-Anonymous (Ominonymous) | 13,289 | He could have been really dangerous. He could be a fucking murderer for all he knew. But Izuku Midoriya, ever the reckless daredevil, was not thinking of that when he got into a car with a complete stranger. Completely ignoring the part where his mother always taught him to never gets into cars with alphas he didn't know...

An Analysis on Uraraka: MHA MANGA SPOILERS, CHAPTER 323 & 324
I've never been an Uraraka fan, but she EXCELLED herself in the last two chapters.
As we all may know, and for the ones who don't, I'm going to explain it "quickly"
In my opinion, her development route deviated from what she actually believed in the beginning of the series. She wanted to be a Hero to gain money and therefore help her parents. Even though this is not the most noble will for someone to become a hero, (if we compare it to other people's will...), still, it is completely valid, even though it may sound a little bit selfish.
Why am I not an Uraraka fan? Well, in the beginning, it was because of this. Her will wasn't something out of the extraordinary. Maybe a little bit bland. But her cute and kind personality - which resembles as a beam/light of hope - kind of leveled her up a little. In addition, she was the one to change Deku's meaning and therefore make our protagonist gain more confidence. Her crush in Deku slowed her a little bit though. But she pushed it aside and concentrated in what was actually important: everybody were doing their best to become a hero, and so would she do it.
And Deku made Uraraka change her will: His will to become a hero is really strong, and the path he chose to achieve it consists of pure hard work. (Which also has a huge counterpart: his lack of self worth, and that he is a self-sacrificial maniac.) Deku inspired not only Uraraka but other characters to try to do their best and achieve their goal: become excellent heroes.
So Uraraka focused on trying her best. Once she got to know Deku's counter-parts, she got sort of a self-enlightment: she couldn't stand watching her role-model (Deku) almost sacrifice himself everytime he wanted to save a life. So she thought: who would save the heroes when they are in pain? Here's when her will deviates from her initial one. She does not want to be a hero to win money, she wants to be a hero who helps the heroes when they are in need. Her will went from "okay. Still valid but bland." To: "Kind and noble".
To do so, she took the microphone Mic was using to calm the enraged civilians and did the job herself. A job that Present Mic failed to do. (Don't get me wrong, I love him, but he was not able to calm the civilians down when Deku came back to U.A.)
There are people who say that what Uraraka said could have come from anybody's mouth. Yeah, that could have been possible. But WHO took the initiative? Uraraka. WHO took PRESENT MIC's microphone away - THE MICROPHONE OF A PRO HERO!! she literally did something that could have earned her a huge reprimand. (Well, we haven't seen the outcome yet, it can still happen.) - and stood in front of an enraged public to calm them down and beg for empathy? Uraraka did that. She did something RISKY. Why? Danger sense activated on Deku when the public started yelling him to get out, which means that they intended to do something bad to him. And Uraraka, who's defending him, could have been in danger too. (Well, she was in danger during her whole speech). What actually "saved" her, was that with her quirk, she managed to stay away from the enraged public, so that they wouldn't be able to harm her.
She may have said what another character could have said, but who would have been it if not her, given to her character-development route and close relationship to Deku? During his rescue, there were many characters who said beautiful things to him and tried to reach out to him. Although Uraraka also tried to do it, it wasn't as impactful as maybe what Todoroki, Iida, or Bakugo, etc, said. Now she got her moment. She got her chance. And is even following the path of her character development.
See how Deku reacted to her speech? He cried. He yelled: "Uraraka-san!", while teares welled up in his eyes. Her words moved him. She managed to reach out. And she touched his heart. He literally collapsed WHILE CRYING. And who did that again? URARAKA.
SHE EXCELLED HERSELF! It may have took her long enough. But the important thing about all this, is that it FINALLY happened. Let's appreciate it.

May I get some yandere Bakugo headcannons? I need angry Pomeranian boy in my life
[ character profile - dynamite AKA bakugou katsuki ]
CW: yandere, verbal abuse
- Katsuki tries his best, he really does. Reading up his vast collection of romance novels and manga, he studies the best way to impress and woo you. There’s no way to beat around the fact that he’s a repressed little virgin. His goals have taken over his life until he met you. The blonde has been so focused on becoming a hero that he never even thought about indulging in his lust. He dreams of a fairytale romance story with you, though. His anger own self-esteem issues get in the way of that, unfortunately.
- Fully makes assumptions of your thoughts and feelings for him without ever actually knowing what they are. It’s almost like he forgets you’re a person and not an object that does his bidding blindly. There’s a lot of planning and linear thinking involved with him. He’s deluded himself to into thinking and believing everything will work out according to what he thinks should happen. Possible rejection doesn’t even cross his mind at.
- Given his inferiority and superiority complex, he switches from praise and degradation rapidly. It’s all dependent on his mood. He can’t help but bring you to his level constantly.
- Katsuki’s attracted to power, there’s no doubt about it. It’s almost impossible to imagine him going after someone who he deems weak or someone quirkless. He’s the best, so he wants the best all for himself. That much is obvious.
- Tries his best to be the perfect gentleman. Paying for dinner, opening doors for you, bringing your favorite bouquet to every date, all that shit. He believes in being your provider and wants to prove how good he can be to you.
- But if things don’t go his way, it’s gets dangerous. Fast. Explosive anger is his speciality and you, unfortunately, get the brunt end of it all. Perfection is the only option for him. No mistakes can be made. So when you “act out” in way he wasn’t expecting from his delusions, he goes ballistic and feral. Everything becomes internalized for him and he sees a small rejection as a rejection to his entire being.
- Loves to nibble, bite, and suck on any tender skin you show. He’ll spend hours burrowed in the crook of your neck, leaving marks and words of sweet nothings softly as he claims you like a man possessed. He needs to show the world who exactly you belong to.
- Doesn’t much go for petnames except for the occasional babe or baby. Most of the time, he uses them in a degrading manner. “Aww, what’s the matter, baby? You gonna cry?”
- His mood-swings are a /bitch/ to handle. One minute he’s praising you and himself for being a power couple before doing a complete switch and projecting his own insecurities onto you. Telling you that you’re not smart enough, strong enough, good enough. You’re just not /enough/. Even though he screams and spits these at you, he never believes them and can’t muster the emotional intelligence to apologize. He brings you down so you’ll be too insecure to ever leave him. Because there’ll be hell to pay if you tried.

Shouto Todoroki:
truth be told, shouto never wanted children
he knew how important someone’s childhood meant
shouto honestly couldn’t trust himself not to mess it up :(
so imagine his surprise when he came to fall in love with this little boy, no older than six, he found snooping around a dumpster
it’s actually kind of funny how they came to be bc shouto was 100% put off by the kid
when they made eye contact, they stared at each other like
shouto:🧍🏻
the boy: 👁👄👁
shouto again:🧍🏻
before the brat blew him a raspberry and tried to run off
ofc he caught up to him and, despite the boy’s tantrum, the two went straight to the police
and for some reason, todoroki ended up with him in his condo
the first couple of weeks were terrible
it seemed like Yuuma hated his guts
shouto let him have his space and only really pestered him when it was time to do the essentials
at midoriya’s suggestion, he’d try and talk to him about his day or how his therapy sessions went, but it was no use
the boy would tell him not to worry about it and scurry off
this happened for some time and honestly, todoroki was at his wit’s end
until one day, shouto realized that it wasn’t that the child hated him, he just didn’t want to be a burden him
then everything clicked
mustering up the courage, todoroki one day asked Yuu if he’d like to help him make dinner and the way the kid’s eyes brightened up at the chance to be useful made him a bit sad
but he pushed it away in favor for how the boy blossomed as he showed shouto the right way to stir meat stew and make onion rings
at the end, the red n white hero gave him an honest smile and thanked him for his help
Yuuma looked at him for a long time before bursting into tears
it was the first time shouto had seen him cry in weeks
it was also the first time they hugged
from then on, it was almost magical how well they clicked
the boy was exitable and extroverted, todoroki was quiet and reserved
they were both stubborn to a fault sometimes and that didn’t bode over well during the few disagreements they had but they brought the best out in each other
shouto made the kid feel safe and secure, always reminding him that anything he did for him was never burdensome
Yuuma gave the hero a confidence boost and a chance at another type of love he never knew he wanted
the first time his son called him dad was when todoroki made the adoption official
Yuuma shyly asked if it was okay that he called him his father and shouto will not admit to the tears he desperately tried to hide from a teasing midoriya and his siblings (ofc he had them there)
no one knows this but todoroki literally had separation anxiety the first couple of years
his child was just fine being with the babysitter but shouto would spend his work days/nights feeling very tense being away from him
called/texted the kid all the time, left him encouraging sticky notes in his lunch box, and would hug him for at least 3 min before leaving the house
he’s such a mother hen bye
he’s lucky yuu adores him bc he was lowkey doing a lot LMAO
they have movie nights together and geek over manga like nerds
yuuma cosplayed as roy mustang once and todoroki has an album of pics from that day alone
todoroki’s the type to randomly bring his son fruit just because
yuuma regularly slept in shouto’s bed/futon until around 7th grade
as his son got older, and more popular (w the ladies AND gents hehe) at school, todoroki got a little jealous bc yuuma wanted to spend more time with his friends
he was legit hurt the first time yuu canceled on movie night to go to a sleepover 🥺
todoroki moped over it until midoriya told him to knock it off 💀
it’s a shameful quality of his, but shouto will always lie to get his kid out of the stupid shit he gets himself into only bc yuu plays really funny pranks
has to keep himself from laughing in front of the principle
they’re both lowkey mischevious asf
he’ll scold him later tho so it’s okay, he’s responsible™️
shouto always calls yuu “son”
if he calls him by his full name, he’s either sad or annoyed w him
during family gatherings, yuuma is the star of the show bc of his superb cooking skills
he and fuyumi get along great
and surprisingly enough, bakugo adores the kid even though the same can’t be said for todoroki himself
yuuma wants to open a restaurant and he’s a little afraid of his father’s reaction
little does he know, shouto is ready to hand over his black card at moment’s notice purrr✨
he’s a really supportive father and he has his hiccups, but todo tries his very best and his son makes him impossibly proud every day
oh and did i mention they wear matching sweaters?
they’re that kind of family
it’s so cute i could die
Tumblr media
Midoriya Izuku:
midoriya was born and bred to be a father
change my mind
i mean look at that face
that’s daddy material to me 😌
anyways
midoriya has two girls that are about a year apart
due to the immense pressure of being with the #1 hero and an unwillingness to be a mother, his then girlfriend at the time suddenly left him, signing over all maternal rights to the hero
it just crushed izuku
he spent weeks trying to look for her and to make it work
he wanted his girls to have a two-parent household, but she went radio silent
it was a difficult adjustment
but deku is the most ambitious and resiliant person on the planet so he was devoted to giving them the best lif he could
and ofc he had the support of all his friends and his mother
but there were a lot of ups and downs
mostly downs in the first year being a single parent
at the time, his youngest wasn’t even one whiles eldest was almost two
and izuku worked a lot
being #1 meant he was the country’s go-to whenever something happened and he missed a lot of stuff he’d never get to redo
like his youngest, Maia’s, first word which was “bunny”
and the first time his oldest, Naomi, went to the bathroom by herself
and izuku will never forget the day he came to pick his kids up after being on a week long international mission
when he reached out for them, they looked at him as if they didn’t know who he was
izuku spent the entire night crying in inko’s arms
the next morning, he only had to deliver some paperwork, but everyone noticed the usually chipper hero’s sour mood and stayed clear from his path
even bakugo and todoroki felt chills when izuku passed by
it was tough, but deku was determined
he started taking up night shifts so he could be there for his girls during the day
he’d pick them up from inko’s right after work and spend the day playing with them
izuku stayed up on a dangerous amount of caffeine and will power
there were days he literally passed out from exhaustion, but it was worth it to see them through their milestones
when Naomi went to kindergarten, he couldn’t stop buzzing around w excitement
he just adored listening her ramble on about what she learned and that persisted on even as she grew
like, she’s a genius
she was his doppleganger in intellect and resilience
she’s def a daddy’s girl and although she’s not as empathetic as her father, they’re very close
naomi is an excellent older sister and stepped up early when izuku couldn’t always be there
maia is izuku’s match in personality
she’s very sweet, a bit more extroverted, and compassionate
but pls don’t get it twisted, that girl gives the fam a run for their money
she’s got izuku’s righteousness but heightened 100x and with a lot more anger
the girl’s got quite the mean mug and she got hands highkey
they both do tbh (i mean, izuku is their dad...)
the amount of fights naomi’s had to back her up in is ridiculous 😭
they’re two peas in a pod tho so if you mess w one sister, you mess w both ‼️
regardless of all that, izuku wouldn’t change them for anything
he’s the type to obnoxiously kiss them on their cheeks before school
they’ll take turns doing each other’s hair
izuku gets pigtails that he proudly wears to work
deku has a private instagram that is so filled with those two, sometimes ppl forget it’s his
he def has a “girl dad” t-shirt
he calls them his angels 🥺
i see him getting a tattoo of their names on his arm or something
they’re all cry babies so when they get into arguments, it doesnt last long
both girls went to UA to be heroes and izuku’s heart just soars with pride every day
he also cried an obnoxious amount and for some odd reason, kept popping up for “demonstrative purposes”
they had to have a family talk so they could tell him to stop babying them in the kindest way possible
and by that i mean, naomi said it bluntly and maia did damage control lmao
overall, izuku loves those girls more than life and they love him just the same
raising them was a rollercoaster, but he’d do it all over again in a heartbeat
Tumblr media
Sero Hanta:
another one that just looks like he’d be an amazing father
please have my children sir
sero is one of the few that was actually looking to adopt a kid
he came from a large family and desired connection with a family of his own
he tried a for a while, but it never seemed to happen
until he came about a small girl he met on the off chance of passing by her hospital room when he was getting a quick check up
she was one of the children they saved on a mission and when he saw her curled up on the hospital bed that seemed to swallow her whole, his feet moved on their own
the girl, Keiko, was left injured and an orphan, yet despite her circumstances, she was just a joy to be around
sero spent the rest of visiting time with her and just knew she was it for him
she was very sick so he’d spend his breaks visiting her at the hospital
keiko was a huge cellophane fan and it just melted his heart 🥺
she’d have a huge smile on her face, unabashedly showing off her missing front tooth, every time he walked in
they’d spend hours just drawing or talking about their day
when sero shyly brought up the possibility of adopting her, keiko could barely contain herself
she drew him one of her best pieces as a thank you and sero still has it hanging on his mirror to this day ❤️
keiko’s actually quite the artist so there’s many more up there to keep it company
the adjustment period went smoother than anticipated
the girl had her moments and hanta was getting used to being a 24/7 parent, but it was like they quickly acted as if they had been blood related their entire lives
they are ride or dies for each other LMAO
they don’t argue
like at all
the worst they ever got was when keiko rushed to help her father on the job when she happened to see him get hurt
sero yelled at her in panic
it was so startling that they avoided each other for the time being
but a few hours later, sero went and apologized
and that was that
keiko had frequent nightmares and sero would sacrfice copious hours of sleep so that he could turn on the projecter and give her a run down about every star in the “sky” before she falls asleep
he actually bought and named a star after her for her first bday with him
sero pats her head a lot and she hates it
he calls her squirt, sport, kid, and princess if they’re having a soft moment
they have an unholy amount of matching onsies
the kid was already getting to the stage where she wanted to be independent, but she would let her father pick out her outfits sometimes
only bc he put a lot of effort into doing it
aka, she caught him crying over cute pintrest pics bc he’s a simp
okay but sero really, isn’t much of a crier, but he’s sentimental asf
every milestone is recorded
every school night, he’s there (she was a good kid, so he all but gloats w pride after every visit w the teachers)
any drawing she makes, he has
he’ll do anything to be there for his daughter so it really crushed him when he couldn’t go to her high school’s father daughter dance
sero had a mission he couldnt get out of and he was sorely pissed off about it
keiko assured her father that it was okay and that it was corny anyways
but he could hear the disappointment in her voice
he made kirishima go with her anyways bc he didnt want her to miss out on the experience
and you bet your ass that when she came back home, sero was there in a tux with the living room set up to make it up to her
it is just as cheesy as you think it is, but they’re cute so who cares
also the way they both can dance is crazyyyyyy
rhythm isn’t even the word
if there was a competition for best father-daughter dance duo, they would win every time! and i stand by that!
they have at least one viral tiktok dance they did together
sero’s not the emotional type, but the first time keiko had a boyfriend he def made a threat or two to him
it was actually so scary
anyways
they’re honestly the cutest duo and everyone on the block agrees
 i love it ❤️

a/n: @number1bakuhoe this one’s for you! thank you for the super cute request!! this was so wholesome!! hopefully you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it!!
Tumblr media
You’re cool and well liked, reliable, level headed, your grades are good, you have a strong quirk, oh and you’re also beautiful.
You’re damn near perfect, except for one little thing: your secret crush on Bakugo Katsuki.
Before class Mina gathers everyone’s attention, it doesn’t work so she stands on her desk, yelling at everyone until they finally shut up and pay attention.
Mina locks eyes with you, and announces she knows your crush.
She’s bullshitting of course, but you couldn’t help the little bit of panic you felt, maybe she did know?
Had you said anything you shouldn’t have?
Did you let your gaze linger too long?
Maybe you talked about him in your sleep??
“Oh yeah? Why don’t you tell us then?” You call her bluff, convincing yourself she’s just trying to torment you like always.
Mina pauses a moment since she wasn’t expecting you to actually call her out, now she’s standing on her desk, everyone’s attention on her, expecting her to reveal some juicy gossip.
She’s got nothing.
She looks around the room her eyes searching for a possible crush candidate.
“Mmm Deku—“ she replies, her tone lacks confidence and she looks unsure.
Deku turns to face the class his face red and eyes wide “w-w-w-w-what???” He buries his face in his hands and you smile at how easily flustered he is.
“He’s adorable but no.” You respond and Deku looks a little relieved while you’re pretty sure Uraraka is shooting you the dirtiest look she could manage with that round little face of hers.
“Sero—“ she tries again
“No.” you have your face cupped in your hands and you’re looking at Mina expectantly.
“Someone else guess i got nothing.” Mina hops down from her desk and shrugs.
Sero chimes in, “Kirishima?”
You watch as Kirishima rubs the nape of his neck nervously before you answer. “No.” You offer an apologetic smile and he blushes a little.
“What about Aoyama?” Krishima tries, desperate to get the attention off of himself.
“No.” You try not to laugh at that one.
“Me.” Kaminari adds and everyone laughs at that one.
Mintea rolls his eyes, his arms crossed, for once he looks serious, “It’s obvious it’s Todoroki—every girl has the hots for him.”
You shake your head, “No—listen you’ll never guess it because I don’t have a crush-” You start.
“What about Bakugo?” Todoroki says innocently, and you tense up involuntary.
“Pftt—yeah like Y/N would ever like Baku-“ Kaminari starts but your expression makes him redirect his train of thought.
“Bakugo??? Seriously?” He asks, leaning forward in his seat
“N-No.” you mumble under your breath.
“I don’t know Y/N, you don’t seem very confident in that answer.” Sero notes, now wearing a smug smirk.
Mina hops from her desk cooly and walks over to you, she pauses before slamming her palms down onto your desk.
“It’s so obvious! Good girl falls for the bad boy!” Mina says matter of factly, Kaminari crosses his arms and kicks his feet onto his desk
“It’s a classic trope, one of us should have noticed by now-” He lets out a long sigh.
You can’t speak, you open your mouth but nothing comes out, instead you bury yourself in the crooks of your elbows, trying to drown out the elevating voices of your over excited peers, and also to hide the deep red blush covering your cheeks.
A soft hand rests on your shoulder, Momo’s voice is soothing compared to the rest, “Leave Y/N alone, if she says she it’s not him then take her word for it.” You glance up at her hopefully.
“Besides, Y/N is so nice and Bakugo is...well..” Momo adds, and you can tell she’s trying to understand the situation, but she’s only making it worse.
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence.” Bakugo’s voice calls from the other side of the room and Momo jumps.
Uraraka chimes in now, “She has a point Bakugo, Y/N doesn't really seem like she’d go for your type. It makes more sense for her to be with someone nice, like Kirishima.”
Kirishima puts his hands up in defense, “What do you mean?? Bakugo’s great, a little rough around the edges but it’s not that weird for Y/N to like him.” He replies, his loyalty to his friend on full display.
You had to get out.
It was too much.
Your entire class was now arguing about your love life, who you should like, and who you shouldn’t like, and exactly why you should or shouldn’t and you couldn’t handle it anymore.
You stand up, head down, determined to leave, when Mina grabs your wrist.
“Hey! You haven’t told us if you like him or not!”
“Don’t touch me!” You tear your wrist from her grip, and the room goes silent.
All eyes are on you now.
You feel hot and think for a second your knees might buckle, when they don't you take the opportunity to run out of the classroom.
Iida stands up, “I hope you’re all happy with yourselves, you’ve embarrassed the poor girl half to death!” He presses his glasses onto the bridge of his nose.
“Someone is going to have to take responsibility for this mess.” He says looking disappointedly at Mina.
Who shifts her attention to Bakugo, and of course the rest of the class does the same.
“What the fuck? ME?” Bakugo snaps, but the class doesn’t budge.
You ran until you found a nice empty spot on a stairwell.
You take a few deep breaths to collect yourself before you sit down, burying your face in your arms again.
Maybe you could transfer to a different school where you didn’t like a boy and your class didn’t make a fool of you and you didn't just run out of the room like the main character of a shojo manga.
“You better not be crying.” Bakugo’s voice carries in the empty stairwell and you jump, you didn't even know he was there.
He leans cooly against the wall adjacent from you. Vermillion eyes as intense as ever, and they were looking right into yours.
“I’m not crying-” You snap, toying with your skirt, “I was just..overwhelmed.” You admit, shifting your gaze to the floor.
“I needed a second to think, to breathe.” You add and he shifts his weight to bury his hands in his pockets.
“Why didn’t you just answer?” He asks flatly and you’re a little surprised.
“You’re telling me you would have just answered a question like that no problem?” You ask, unconvinced.
He shrugs a bit, “Yeah, it’s not shameful to like someone. It is pretty damn cowardly to hide it from everyone though.” He adds and you can feel your cheeks heat up, annoyed at how coy he was acting.
“Then you answer it if it’s so easy. Who do you like?”
A hint of blush tints his porcelain skin, he rolls his eyes. “Tch, don’t make this about me because you’re too goddamn scared of what everyone thinks to admit you like me.” His tone is laced with irritation but also something else. It’s gruff but softer than usual.
“S-Scared? I’m not scared to admit anything!” You snap.
“So you’re ashamed then?” He snaps back.
“N-No!” You’re standing now, fists balled at your sides.
“I like you! I have for a long time and it’s a little scary to admit it right to your face but i’m not ashamed of anything.” You feel heat rise into your ears and they start to ring a little.
“You’re mean and cold and sometimes you act like an asshole, but you’re also loyal and honest and you’re going to be a great hero someday and-” You realize you’re starting to ramble and you look up expecting Bakugo to be annoyed but he just looks..surprised.
“N-Now it’s your turn! Do you have a crush on anyone?” You’re suddenly filled with a rush of confidence from finally getting the confession off of your chest.
“I guess you could call it that-” He mumbles, and you jab a finger in his face.
“Who is it?” You ask, gaze intense.
“Tch-”
“Answer it.”
“You.”
There’s a brief pause as you process the information.
Bakugo shifts his weight, clearly starting to get uncomfortable.
“Well aren’t you going to say something-” He starts but he’s cut off by your lips against his own. He falters for a minute, his cheeks stained red, he fumbles a little in an attempt to pull you near him, his arms feel so large when they finally wrap around you.
Your chest is burning and you can feel your heartbeat ring in your ears.
The kiss is a little clumsy, you can tell he doesn’t have much experience, but there’s chemistry and he’ll just have to practice. With you. A lot.
You pull away, and you can tell he’s reluctant. The way he bites his lower lip almost makes you steal him away to the empty dorms but you know you have a class to face.
“Aren’t you going to say something?” You mock, and he pinches your sides. “Shut up.” You start to laugh, and he covers his smile with his knuckles. “Let’s head back.”
The two of you walk back to class, neither of you say anything but you don't have to. He says it in the way he lets his shoulder brush up against yours from walking too close to you. And you say it with the smile you’ve been trying to fight the entire walk back.
You both pause at the door and Bakugo offers one of his signature smirks. “Mina is going to shit herself.”

BNHA Chapter 326 Analysis: All Might’s Legacy
We’re finally back!  I hope Horikoshi had a good break to rest up.  Glad to see him back in full form!  This chapter focuses on All Might and (finally) his conversation with the Hero Killer: Stain.  It’s a simple, but very effective chapter that shows us again how important All Might is to the world regardless of if he’s a Pro Hero or not.  Anyway, I’m reading the official translations this week since Shonen Jump was released early this time b/c of a Japanese holiday.  I honestly kinda wish Shonen Jump was released on Fridays.  It’s a good way to cap off the week:
Like I said before, this chapter is primarily a conversation between Stain 🩸 and All Might ✨.  This was set up for a while since all the way back in the Hoseu arc, but it was really set up before the war happened.  All Might even mentions it in this chapter, but it got delayed for some reason.  I would say it was because of the war, but the war happened months after that second set-up, so that couldn’t have been it.  So, I wonder why it was delayed?
The title of this chapter is called “Who Are You Really?” which is the question Stain asks All Might during their convo.  All Might gives an answer, but ultimately, All Might is a true hero who wanted to step into the limelight purely to save people and give them that Symbol of Peace he thought they all needed.  Even after retiring, he still did his best to encourage and train Deku to become his successor.  He looked out for the other students along the way.  And like Aizawa said, even his presence alone is giving people the push they need to keep going.
Despite knowing all this, All Might is still disappointed in himself for not only failing Deku, but failing Japan as a whole and letting the war happen.
Really, there wasn’t anything All Might could’ve done about the war.  His power was running out and Kamino pretty much snuffed most of it.  Even if All Might did have his power during the war, it took several Pro Heroes and students to knock out Shigaraki.  I highly doubt fighting Shigaraki + Gigantomachia would be easy for him.
As for Deku, All Might could’ve said more to him before he took off, but how was he when Deku kept pushing All Might away.  Also, All Might doesn’t have it in him to tell Deku to stop what he’s doing as Bakugo’s told us before.  They’re the same sacrificial idiots who will risk their lives to save others.  All Might still needs to talk to Deku though.
This is where Stain comes in.  He’s still as insane as he ever was, but he isn’t out to kill All Might.  Remember, Stain thinks All Might is the only hero worthy enough to kill him.  So, instead, he gives All Might some words of encouragement that actually seem to help him.  Stain being All Might’s life coach was not have that on my bingo card...
Stain lets him see a woman with a snowball/puffball(?) Quirk taking off the “I Am Not Here” sign from the All Might statue in Kamino and cleaning the statue too.  Turns out she does this every day despite it being dangerous to even walk outside.  That woman is the last person All Might saved during the All Might vs. One For All battle.  She was that woman who was pinned down from the debris (Horikoshi drew scars on her leg to show this; nice touch) and pleaded All Might to save everyone.  She gave All Might the strength to keep fighting.   So, in return for saving her, this woman is now saving him again.
All Might looks at this and starts to cry 😭 as Stain monologues how All Might was loved for his smile and his will to save people.  It had nothing to do with his Quirk.  His flame still lives on in the future generations of heroes: Deku, his friends, his classmates, the Pro Heroes left, and all the civilians who still believe in him.  So long as those flames burn, All Might’s legacy will live on 🔥.
Stain knew he was talking to All Might this whole time (he had doubts earlier because of All Might’s skinny form, so he tried buffing up earlier, but it didn’t work), so he gives All Might info he got in Tartarus.  Then he wants All Might to kill him for real.  I wonder what Stain got from his time in Tartarus?  Maybe this info will help take down Shigaraki and AFO?  Maybe it’ll have more info on other Tartarus inmates?  You gotta wonder.
Also, Stain states that he killed 40 heroes now.  Wasn’t his Kill Count in the 10s last time?  Did he kill more heroes since he escaped?  It would fit his ideology since a lot of Pro Heroes quit.  Regardless, that’s a lot of people.  His kill count is higher than Dabi’s now.
Finally, as All Might cries, the Kamino woman sees that the rain has finally stopped.  I saw people mention how it’s symbolic how it looks like the All Might statue punched the sky to changed the weather like how All Might did that literally when he saved Bakugo and Deku from the sludge villain at the beginning of the series.  Ironically, that first punch brought rain 🌧.  The statue’s brought sunlight ☀️.
Before I end things off, I have to mention he art in this chapter and how well it helps tell the story.  Horikoshi has always been good at letting his art show his story as much as his dialogue tells it.  All Might picks up Deku’s damaged steel mask that was left behind as a way to show that they’re still connected (also that mask was originally inspired by All Might’s smile; gotta love symbolism).  Stain and his speech bubbles are drawn as crazy as ever.  Shoto’s Ice is still there, so this is right after All Might walked away from UA last chapter (you need to melt that ice, honey, it’s a hazard).  It’s been hot minute since Horikoshi’s drawn Buff-Might in the manga and it definitely looks like his art style’s improved a lot since then.  There’s one panel that shows All Might running into danger paralleling how Deku ran in to save Bakugo from the sludge villain (it’s even drawn pretty much the same 😭).  I noticed that All Might didn’t flinch at all when Stain threatened him with his sword; there’s something sad in the fact that he almost expects to die at this point 😢.  And there’s the panel showing everyone who keeping All Might’s flame alive.  Our own Big 3 are front and center here too.  I’m still waiting for Deku to respond to Bakugo’s apology and Shoto’s time to shine, Horikoshi 😤.  Also, All Might imagines Deku clean, so I hope he’s as clean as this when he finally takes his goddamn bath 🛁!
Overall, great chapter!  Loved how the Kamino woman (please give these people names, Horikoshi...) came back and still believes in All Might.  Loved how move All Might is and I hope he finally has the courage to talk to Deku.  Can’t believe Stain gave All Might a legitimate pep talk tough.  Like, Stain is complicated.  He’s definitely a villain and he should be locked up, but he’s not AFO level villain.  He wasn’t wrong with his ideology, but that doesn’t mean all heroes should die because of it.  For example, Ochaco would’ve definitely been Stain’s target at the beginning because she did want to be a Pro Hero to give her parents some money.  A genuine and grounded goal, but not in Stain’s eyes.  So, having him show All Might the light is something to look positively on.  Even if it’s ultimately for All Might to kill Stain one day.  Still hope it’s a push in the right direction for All Might.  Hopefully for us too now that the sun’s out.
Me @ the Kamino woman being one of the few good civilians left:

BNHA THEORY RAMBLING WITH SPOILERS
Okay so second bnha rambling with theories because I can’t think straight so I think of bnha! Specifically Deku.
Specifically, Deku’s endgame. There are so many theories out there and I just.... think about Deku specifically a lot. I mean he’s the protagonist and everything and I love him and a common theory that I actually do kinda think about a lot is Deku losing OFA. But I don’t think he’ll end quirkless. I think a lot of things need to happen but let’s start with me rambling about Deku’s characterization, how it can all be wrapped up in this:
Deku has PTSD. (This part is LONG and talks about masochism and mentions suicide and all that. Other points are shorter!) And I don’t mean post war arc or even post Bakugo’s kidnapping, if we want to go that far back. Deku has PTSD from the VERY start. This kid is a walking mental illness. Sources? Hi, I’m a Civilian With PTSD and I saw Deku at the beginning and I watched Deku’s horrible mental health deteriorate EVEN MORE than it started off as. This is really important to me, to state that he has it from the beginning, because I believe in the character growth and development. I might be talking out my ass but it’s fun so. Why do I say he starts out from it? Let’s look at symptoms.
A) hyperfixation, my old friend. Deku fixated hardcore on All Might and Heros in general. But he fixated specifically on All Might and he gets EMBARRASSED about it a lot. (Funny enough, the embarrassment of it is also a symptom of ADHD but I’m not as well versed in that). Hyperfixation is a very very common coping method.
B) His anxiety. Kinda self explanatory here. He’s a bully victim. He also has been literally classified as LESS. Quirkless. But also defenseless. Useless. We’ve heard that, his anxiety is there but it’s because of what DEFINES him. His self identity was born from what everyone else tells him. He’s a determined boy, but his sense of self is only wrapped up in what other people think—or specifically, what All Might thinks. Which blends a bit with...
C) A loss sense of identity. I talked about this a little bit he last part but Deku’s goal to become a hero is so tied to All Might that even when he gains the quirk, he has to have it beaten into him with warning of losing the use f his arms for him to realize he’s NOT All Might. But that’s still what he sees, even when he switches to using his legs more. He has no idea who he is. He just copies. He copies Bakugo’s moves again and again. And while it’s cool to see all the parallels and growth of Deku learning from others, there is a message of “making it his own” when Deku copies others again and again because he has no idea who HE is. He analyses like crazy because figuring out how other people do things is the only way he can figure out how HE can do things. Also, the whole language change because his image of victory is Bakugo? Literally his speech pattern isn’t his own, his every day one matching his mother’s.
D) repressed and heavily released emotion. He’s 0 or 100, both when he gets OFA and with his emotions. I mean. Feral!Deku. Do I need to say more? Yes, because I was to drive home how not okay Deku is from the very beginning. Boy cleans the beach and screams bloody murder. He has no idea what emotion to have and needs to let it out. Doesn’t matter he just did a shit ton of physical release, he has so much emotions that he doesn’t know what to do with. Just like Bakugo’s anger, Deku’s emotion usually comes out as his tears. Boy cries a lot but sometimes tears aren’t enough and Deku screams a LOT. Even his own excitement bursts out in bigger ways, with his mumbling and fact dropping (god, also slightly autistic coded maybe? Blurred lines with ADHD there, it again, not my area of expertise)
E) black and white thinking. He’s young, so that explains some of this but just like I mentioned above with the 0 or 100, he represents the mindset of civilians. He literally blinds himself at the very start to even what’s happening to HIMSELF. He sees hero and he sees villian and those are his two categories. Bakugo literally tells him to kill himself and Deku thinks about how that would negatively affect Bakugo. He doesn’t and never does see Bakugo as a villian for this. He sees “wow that wouldn’t be good for his Hero image” and because Deku sees Bakugo as a hero, everything has to fit into that. And while Deku has huge growth with this next part, he also originally viewed villains as just villains. He learned a LOT and while the society’s image becomes less black and white for him (because the whole manga revolves around the gray morality of it all) he still doesn’t see much gray area. It’s win or lose. With the sports festival, he literally won the race without his quirk. He got through the Calvary battle despite being a giant ass target. He placed in the top 8 (which he probably would have gotten higher on if his goal didn’t change) and despite accomplishing his goal with Todoroki, he broke down about not doing what All Might asked him despite gaining permanent scarring and a hell of a warning re his arms. But to point back at the beginning, this is reinforced with his entrance exam. Passing the written exam meant NOTHING because he did “””nothing””” in the practical.
F) last point, Deku’s a masochist. Obviously with the broken bones and things but I’m not even just talking about the physical damage he does to himself—which is, what, 95% of the time what he gets most of his wounds from? Anyway—I’m talking about his mindset. Masochism isn’t just the physical act of causing pain. It’s that mindset of deserving pain. The reasoning doesn’t matter. Deku only “betters” himself for the sake of giving more to others. He trains so hard, not for himself, but for others. On the outside it might seems like his goal of becoming a hero is his own but he sacrifices his body and dives into situations where he’s literally been warned he’s going to die and he just does it anyway. Eri’s Arc and him “changing the future” is what I’m referring to here and you could say “well he DID say he would change that future!” And okay, sure, but he was told Sir is never wrong. But he would rather rush into that future where he dies than take even a moment to think through his actions. But anyway, my point is him at the beginning so I specifically mean the training montage. Where he was ALREADY on a tough schedule that he knew would be difficult and he literally adjusted it and added MORE. Because, to circle back to other points because mental illness always overlaps points, he can only think of himself as 0 or 100, black and white, Able To Save or Failure. If he can’t be at 100 then he believes he deserves pain and causes it to himself. The only time he regrets his injuries is when it prevents him from giving MORE of himself to others. He learns his shoot style not because he doesn’t want to hurt himself but because he doesn’t want to become useless to others. He trains and loses sleep and puts his body through hell because he thinks of himself only as something for others. (I think wanting to save Shigaraki is a powerful moment not because it’s Pure Boy Deku but because it’a his own thinking, his OWN want, but.... it’s still not for him and will still cause him pain). And a last point on this, Heros Rising showed us that Deku is willing to give up his quirk and his dream to win and it showed us that while he believed he didn’t have any other choice, he was deeply disappointed in himself. Winning wasn’t enough. Hurting himself THAT MUCH wasn’t enough. He let All Migjt down and giving up his dreams, almost dying, becoming quirkless, all wasn’t enough to counteract the shame he held. Like god. Baby.
Other small observations or relevant commentary:
1) The doctor who told Deku he was quirkless is the same doctor who worked on Shigaraki. Same doctor who can perseve dead bodies. Same doctor who worked with AFO and all that. (See? Short! Will be relevant soon)
2) One for All is tied to All for One. OFA was literally created the moment a hand reached out to help. Can one even exist without the other?
3) Bakugo needs to apologize. Horikoshi has literally said in an interview post Heros Rising that Bakugo needs to apologize. Sacrificing his life to save Deku is NOT how you apologize to Deku. Deku will ask for a receipt on this type of apology. Return to sender. Unacceptable. So. Bakugo needs to apologize.
4) Deku’s dad isn’t in the picture yet. Hasn’t even been spoken of except for the fact we know his quirk is fire breathing and his name is Hisashi. Oh and he’s abroad. Oh and Horikoshi said he’ll be in the picture at some point. Given we’re in the final arc......... this might not be relevant at all to my theory because I have mixed thoughts on AFO being Deku’s dad but it would connect a few things in the theory.
SO. Finally, all of this together had me thinking about Deku’s characterization and what this (now with COMBAT related ptsd and not just civilian ptsd) means for his ending.
Like I said, I think he’s going to lose OFA. And I originally didn’t think so because Heros Rising showed his losing it and why would they do that again? The movie is canon. Horikoshi himself said so and was a huge part of the production of it. So they did that and wouldn’t do it again. Except.... Deku GAVE OFA away. Which is significant because it was his choice. And he had shame and we witnessed how much that hurt him, but we haven’t seen what’s now been tried TWICE: OFA being forcibly taken from him. Maybe by Shigaraki, since that is building up big time. But maybe by saving Shigaraki.
Either way, what’s more significant to me than how he has it taken is what that means for him, based on everything else above: he would lose his entire self identity. He would literally have no idea who he is anymore except for the only reference he’s ever had, which his from when he was quirkless. He gained friends only after he had a quirk. Every bond he has is tied to him being a hero and he was told it was impossible for him to be a hero without a quirk. Even All Might’s adjusted answer to him at the beginning involved giving him a quirk as the answer for him being able to become a hero.
I think this is the absolute perfect chance for Bakugo to say “since when did you need a quirk to be a hero”. And it doesn’t matter much what the context is, what causes Deku to still need to be a hero (whether a Situation or just an identity crisis) and I think about Quirkless Deku as a hero a lot, since that’s how he was originally written in the one shot before he was revamped for bnha.
But I don’t think Deku will end quirkless either because of who his doctor was. I think Deku had a quirk. I think the doctor stole it. Whether that’s because AFO is Deku’s dad and saw his quirk and knew he had to take it for some reason or whether it was independent and the doctor saw it and took it. The whole toe thing can be written off so easily that Deku could easily have had a quirk at some point.
And maybe, if AFO and OFA are cancelled out, the quirks that were stolen go back to their original owners. Meaning Deku gets his ORIGINAL quirk back.
As in, Deku gets his own identity.
And what would that quirk be? Hm. I don’t know. But. His mom can move small objects. His dad can breath fire. A mutation, maybe? I’ll leave that one up in the air.
And there are a lot of implications here that this could mean for him, as far as healing. And I just want him to be happy.

Bakudeku HC
...that nobody asked but I like them and wanted to share it.
⚠️Manga spoilers wearning⚠️
This is written in chronological order.
• They both don't want everyone to know about their relationship because they both are insecure (not just about their relationship but about almost everything, and this is kinda canon) at the beginning;
• So when Deku wants attention but Bakugo is sitting on the commom room's couch, he uses BlackWhimp to catch Bakugo and walks away to the elevator still wrapping it around Katsuki;
• Katsuki yells and tries to get off BlackWhimps grip to keep up the act they usually have in front of other people. But there are times when he just forgets to do it (be it because he is too used to be carried around by Deku like this or because he is too tired because of the training). Those times are the ones that get whoever is in the commom room pretty much confused lol;
• When Bakugo wants attention but Deku is chatting in commom room's couch, he walks to behind Deku and grabs the back of his shirt, what makes Deku unconciously grab his wrist because of his DangerSense quirk. Then Bakugo just pulls him out of the couch and starts to carry him to the elevator. Katsuki basically drags Deku's body (which is basically sitting on the floor) to the elevator;
• Deku will fight back and yell as Katsuki does it, but its just an act. Well, partially. Because he doesn't know how to lie, so Bakugo has to do it this way because its easier for Deku to complain about how Bakugo is almost choking him;
• But Deku will still fight a subtle smile that grows on his lips, because even if Bakugo is draging him like this he stills make it so it won't hurt Deku. Deku never got any scraches from his skin pressing against the floor. Even when Bakugo basically trows him out of the couch, he never even got a bruise;
• There are times when Deku forgets to yell too, though. And those times are the same as when Bakugo will carry Deku on his soulder;
• They love holding hands. They just can't help it. Everytime they kiss, hug, laugh or sleep together, they are always holding hands;
• And if Deku get his hands injured (not like breaking it, because he just can't break it anymore. He won't be able to move them anymore if he breaks them again, in my head), he will use BlackWhimp to hold Bakugo's hand. Bakugo doesn't mind it (Deku using BkackWhimp to hold his hand) and subtly helps Deku to do what he can't (but he doesn't have to do much, all class helps Deku so he will help him more when they are alone). He is still very morried about Izuku's well-being, though;
• Actually, while in class Deku uses BackWhimp to hold Bakugo's hand when no-one is seeing. It gets Bakugo pissed with him afterwards because Bakugo ends up blushing in the middle of the class (Bakugo didn't say he blushed, Izuku knows it because he can see Katsukis red ears from his sit. Maybe its the main reason he does that). But Katsuki still don't shove BackWhimp away. He won't ever shove Deku's hand away;
• When Bakugo overuses his quirk and is unable to use his hands (his whole arms actually), he still doesn't want to be helped by anyone and complains about it, but still let veryone help him. When he is alone with Deku he doesn't complain at all, just blushes Bekause Izuku end up spoiling him too much;
• As the months go by, they become more confident about their relationship and come out to the class at their second or third year. They both blushed pretty hard when everyone answered with a "so you tought that you were hiding it?";
• Deku found out that he really loves to carry Bakugo;
• He didn't realise it untill he hugged Katsuki one time and stoped to think about how slender Kacchans's body is, even though he has so much muscles;
• So he picked Bakugo up (asking for his permissin before doing so) one time when they were hugging each other alone in Deku's room. That was the time Deku realised that Kacchan wasn't heavy at all;
• "Kacchan, you are so light!" He said surprised;
• "Do you remember we both train our asses out everyday? Its obvious that I am light for you." He barked back, rolling his eyes;
• Izuku liked it so much that he didn't realise he started to pick Bakugo up everytime they were alone. He liked it even more when he realised that Bakugo would instantanealy hug him as if he was afraid to fall. He looked just like a scared cat and it was so cute;
• And it became so much of a habit that one time he ended up doing it in the commom room:
• Bakugo and Deku were talking about their new moves, Deku suggesting new ones to Bakugo while Bakugo was doing the same for Deku (but in a more subtle way). It is, untill Deku suddenly bent down and grabed Bakugo's thighs, lifting him up out of nowhere;
• Bakugo instantanealy grabed on Deku's shirt because of the habit, but it took him less than a second to yell "This is the commom room, dumbass!"
• As I said before, they came out to the class and anyone can kinda figure out their relationship by just looking at them, but they still don't want to show much affection in public because they get shy when the rest of the class start to coo them;
• Deku instantainly blushes and rushes up the stairs without leting go of Bakugo. They are both screaming.

Physical Fatality Part 5- Proud
18+ Hawks x fem, pro hero!reader
Summary: You’re a rising star in All Might’s agency. Hawks is the darling of Endeavor’s. By virtue of your job descriptions, the two of you are supposed to hate each other, or at the very least be cautiously neutral. For a long time that’s exactly what the two of you did. You stayed out of each other’s way and formed little opinion of the other. One fateful night at an HPSC gala changes all that. Based on the album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom by Halsey.
If you don’t want to see Physical Fatality content blacklist #hopelesspf
This story will have multiple NSFW parts so it is 18+ ONLY minors dni

Masterlist
“You need better concealer Katsuki, whatever brand you’re using now is shit,” you comment by way of greeting as you meet Bakugo in front of the agency for patrol.
“The fuck are you on about idiot?” Bakugo scowls. “I can still see the hickeys Red Riot left on your neck,” you grin as you begin walking. His face goes bright red as he catches up to you. “These aren’t-“ he begins but you cut him off rolling your eyes. “Don’t bother, we both know whatever lie you try to come up with won’t be a good one. May I suggest trying Fenty brand concealer out before you have your next rendezvous.” “Whatever, keep talking shit if you wanna keep living on Deku’s couch forever.” “What does your shitty job at covering up hickeys have to do with my technically being homeless?” “I might’ve found you a new place but the more you open your trap the less inclined I am to tell you about it.” “Have I ever told you you’re my best friend in the whole wide world and I love you so much?” Bakugo rolls his eyes so hard it’s a wonder they don’t fall out or get stuck. “Look Kirishima’s got a friend who went to high school with us, Mina Ashido. If you paid any attention to the charts you might recognize her as the acid hero Pinky,” he explains. “Ohh I know her! I follow her on Insta,” you say. “I… y’know what? Sure. Great. Well, her roommate is moving out and Kiri says she’s looking for a new one.” “Aww, so he’s Kiri now?” “I swear to god (y/n) do you want the room or not?” “Right! Yes, I totally want the room! Thanks so much Katsuki!” you beam at him. “You’re lucky I find you entertaining dumbass. Here’s Mina’s number,” he sighs as he pulls out his phone and texts over her contact details. “Seriously though, I owe you one. I’ll give her a call later today,” you tell him. “Whatever, let’s just get on with patrol,” Bakugo scoffs. You know he appreciates your thanks anyway.
You love patrolling with Bakugo because the two of you are equally competitive. Sure, on bigger takedowns you both know how to reign it in and focus, but on days like today where all you get is a small time robbery or two both of you let yourselves go a little bit. It’s all about who can round up the most villains in the least amount of time. These competitions were a large part in why you earned Bakugo’s respect and had been the beginning of a beautiful friendship, not that he would ever call it that. Your favorite tradition of you and Bakugo’s patrols, however, was the race back. Once you guys neared the end of your route, you would pause, do a short countdown and then you were off. First one back to the agency wins, the only rule was that you couldn’t do anything that could draw a bad headline i.e. destroying property or getting civilians caught in the crossfire. It was such a staple of the two of you’s patrol that many people had come to know them and you’d get the occasional group of spectators to watch you and the explosive blonde racing. The current record is 112-113 in Bakugo’s favor but you’re determined to fix that now. The two of you finally reach your usual starting point and both of you get a grin of anticipation. “Ready to watch me widen that lead?” Bakugo asks. “No way in hell, I’m tying it back up,” you fire back. You both look at each other and together countdown

1…
Go!
You’re both sprinting forward careful to avoid any pedestrians. You see a clear path starting to open up ahead of Bakugo and quickly scan for an obstacle you can throw in his way last minute. Your eyes land on a mailbox so you reach out with your quirk and then wait to time it until just before he’s about to blast himself forward. Right as he’s surging forward, the finish line in sight and his hands sparking, you jerk the mailbox in front of him so he barrels directly into it. You give him a wink before sprinting the last bit inside, using your quirk to shove the doors open and slide into home as he is just getting back up off the ground. He runs inside shortly after you and you crow out your victory. “Eat shit, Katsuki! It’s 113 all now,” you laugh out of breath, panting as you bend over with your hands on your knees. “Can’t believe you hit me with a fucking mailbox,” he huffs back. “It’s not destruction of property so it’s valid,” you point out. You stand back up straight, chest still heaving with exertion and sweaty from the run only to look towards the elevators and see Hawks staring at you. You belatedly realize that Shoto is with him and also giving you a curious look and it only occurs to you then what an odd picture you and Bakugo must’ve made rushing into the agency like that. “We, uh, we race,” you pant out by way of explanation as you and Bakugo finally start to catch your breath and make your way towards the elevators.
As the four of you get into the elevator Bakugo asks “What brings you guys here?” “Apparently All Might and Father want us to get started on the investigation into the attempted terror attack at the gala last week. We finally got access to security camera footage, personnel interviews, stuff like that, so we should be able to make at least a little head way. Tokoyami and Midoriya are already upstairs getting started,” Shoto explains. Hawks is still fucking staring at you and you can’t figure out why but it’s borderline making you sweat again. Since that night in Shoto’s basement Hawks had been doing his best to woo you. He had sent not-so-anonymous notes and flowers to your desk signed off only as “From your mystery man” to avoid the potential scandal of you having a fling from the enemy agency. Even still you could tell that the lower ranking heroes were starting to whisper and wonder about who your new suitor is.
As the elevator reaches your floor and everyone steps out you’re keenly aware that you need to change back into your civilian clothes if you’re about to comb through security data and interviews for hours. “I’m gonna take a shower then I’ll join you guys,” you explain, jerking a finger towards the women’s locker room, before using your quirk to grab a duffel bag from your desk. “We’ll fill you in on anything we find,” Bakugo assures you and you nod before heading to the locker room. Once you’ve disappeared into the locker room Bakugo turns to Hawks and asks “Well? Aren’t you going to go after her?” “What?” Hawks asks as he’s finally snapped out of the trance you’d put him in from the moment he’d seen you sweaty and laughing, looking impossibly sexy in your hero costume. Shoto rolls his eyes. “You weren’t subtle. Something tells me you’d be too distracted to help right now anyway,” Shoto adds in.
Hawks tries not to look too eager as he follows after you but fails. He rushes to the locker room and locks the door behind him. It seems as if the top floor is pretty much reserved to you, Bakugo, and Midoriya but better safe than sorry. You’re already in the shower by the time Hawks arrives, the hot water rinsing away the sweat you’d worked up on patrol and any muscle aches that had been threatening to make an appearance. You hear footsteps approaching and immediately have a pretty good guess for who it is. “So that’s what all the staring was about,” you tease as you turn around to find Hawks leaning against the boundary between the showers and the drier part of the room where the actual lockers are. “How else did you expect me to react when you were looking so hot all sweaty and with that bright, beautiful smile of yours?” Hawks flirts. “Do you have an off button or?” you ask. “Aren’t you going to invite me in? We are a little pressed for time you know,” Hawks replies by way of an answer. You pretend to think for a moment but the reality is you knew and were hoping for this exact outcome the moment you heard the door open again. “Well, hurry up and get in here then,” you tell him. He’s all too eager to oblige.
He quickly strips out of his hero costume before coming to join you under the shower’s warm spray. He’s already half hard, and getting harder by the moment, as he presses you close to him and draws you in for a kiss. It’s slow and needy and addicting because he kisses you like you’re something precious. His hands slowly skate up your rib cage before moving to massage your breasts. You’re about to wrap a hand around his now achingly hard dick but before you can he’s pulling away from your kiss and giving you a devilish look. You’re about to ask why when suddenly he’s sinking to his knees in front of you and you wonder if there’s ever been a hotter sight. “Spread those legs for me Artemis.” There’s something about the way he says your hero name that makes it sound like absolute sin. So you do as told and spread your legs as his hands find their home at your waist but he doesn’t go straight to the main attraction. No, first he leaves open mouthed kisses along your inner thighs. So close to what you truly want but not quite. “What happened to being short on time?” you groan, desperate to have his mouth on you. He chuckles and you can feel his breath ghost against your sex. The feeling makes you shudder. “So impatient little dove,” he smirks but regardless he finally licks along the folds of your labia. You have to grab the wall for balance as his tongue begins to circle your clit before he pulls the nub into his mouth to gently suck on it. “Oh god,” you cry out as one hand instinctively goes to tangle in his hair and you can feel him smirk against you, the cocky bastard, but can’t find it in you to really care when his tongue is now sliding inside you. He eats you out like it’s his job and Christ does he deserve a promotion. He slides one hand down from your waist to provide extra stimulation to your sensitive clit and that’s all it takes to send you over the edge with a cry of his name. His real name.
He stands with a self-satisfied look on his face as you reel him in for a kiss. “Job well done I take it?” he asks. “Very well done. I think I ought to return the favor,” you reply and now it’s Hawks’ turn to watch in wonder as you sink to your knees in front of him. He curses above you just at the sight alone but then you’re taking him into your mouth and he already knows this isn’t going to last long. You take him in slowly, inch by aching inch, until you can feel the head of his cock kiss the back of your throat and the moan he makes as you hollow out your cheeks is music to your ears. You pull back enough so he sits more comfortably in your mouth and use your hand to work the remaining length as you begin to bob your head up and down along his shaft. You feel his hand tangle into your hair and hold on for dear life and he’s trying so hard to resist the urge to move his hips. You pull off and smirk up at him and he almost whines at the loss. “You’re being so good trying not to fuck into my mouth Keigo,” you say and while he wants to be indignant about the tone you’re using there’s no denying it makes his dick twitch. “So good I think you’ve earned a reward,” you continue and god Keigo just knows you’re going to be the death of him at this rate. “You want to fuck my face Kei?” you ask and it’s a miracle he doesn’t explode right there. “Fuck (y/n), yes. God, yes,” he pants out. “Then do it, I give you permission,” you grin before taking him back in. You don’t have to tell him twice. He fucks into the wet heat of your mouth like his life depends on it, tightly gripping your hair to hold you in place as he chases his orgasm. He tugs on your hair in warning that he’s close, so close. You tighten your grip on his hips to let him know it’s ok. Soon after his hips stutter as he begins spilling his seed down your throat with a groan. You take it all, swallowing every drop until he’s finally spent.
As you stand back up Keigo immediately pulls you in for a bruising kiss, still able to taste himself on your tongue, and it’s so possessive and demanding that in any other situation you may have gone another round. But you both have already been gone from the meeting too long so instead he pulls away and practically growls, “I’ll get you back for that mouth of yours later.” “Promise?” you tease. “Tonight. I’ll take you somewhere proper with no reporters,” he tells you before pressing a quick but rough kiss to your lips and then exiting the shower to go dry off and get redressed. Fuck, he’s going to be the death of you. You take another few moments in the shower before you step out to get dressed as well and find Hawks has already left the locker room, presumably to join the others in the meeting. After putting back on your civilian clothes you exit the locker room and head over to the conference room designated for the task force. Bakugo gives you a smirk as you walk in and you flip him off in return. Finally you take your seat and tune into the conversation, fully shifting into work mode.
By the end of the meeting you’ve managed to rule out the league of villains and most of the remaining yakuza groups out there but haven’t got much else. “There’s some similarities with a case I’ve been looking into from a month or so back. It was kicked lower down the food chain but I still have notes and I can probably get the files I’ll just have to swing back by Endeavor’s,” Hawks sighs. “Let’s deal with those tomorrow morning. Meet back here same time?” Midoriya asks. Everyone nods their agreement before rising to leave the conference room. “I should probably still grab those files tonight,” Hawks admits as you all walk out. “That’s cool, I’ll just roll with. No worries,” you shrug. “You’re the best you know that?” he grins. “Stop it, you’re embarrassing. Let me grab my shit real quick and then we can head out,” you tell him before running off to do just that. Shortly afterward Tokoyami walks up to Hawks. “I’m proud of you, Hawks,” he says and Hawks gives him an odd look. “What’re you talking about?” Hawks asks. “I was worried you’d freak out when you found out she worked for All Might. You know how Endeavor gets, still buying into the whole dumb feud thing. I’m glad you didn’t let that stop you though,” Tokoyami explains. “I mean yea Endeavor’s no fan of the guy, but he wouldn’t actually care about me seeing someone from All Might’s agency... right?” Hawks replies. Tokoyami’s eyes widen briefly but he coughs to cover up his reaction. “No, no, yea you’re probably right. Anyway, she’s good for you I feel like. I’m glad you two found each other,” Tokoyami finally says. Before Hawks can press any further you reappear in front of him and ask “Ready to go?” “Yea, I’m ready,” he says, throwing one last look at Tokoyami before shaking it off and following you back to the elevator.
Hawks is sort of quiet on the way over to Endeavor’s agency but you figure he must be thinking over the case still. It’s late so when you arrive at the office building the lobby is all but deserted except for one woman standing off to the side looking uncomfortable and lost. She’s older with thick hair and looks to have had a rough go of life if you had to guess. You notice her before Hawks does so you walk over to see if she’s ok. After all if she’s hanging out in the lobby of a hero agency this late at night she must be in trouble right? “Excuse me ma’am are you ok?” you ask the woman gently. She turns to you and the look in her eyes is almost distant. “I’m looking for my son,” she says mildly. You’re about to ask for more information on her son, like a physical description or where she’d lost him, when suddenly Hawks is right behind you. “What are you doing here?” he asks and his voice is cold in a way you’ve never heard before. You’re about to chastise him but stop short. You look from his face back to the woman’s. It can’t be. Can it? “Is that anyway to talk to your mother?” the woman asks and you have to resist the temptation to gasp audibly. Hawks grits his teeth, looking frustrated and you can’t help but let your eyes wander to the agency doors that any number of heroes could walk through at any second. You’re not sure Hawks would appreciate you showing him any kind of physical affection in front of his mom so you instead reach out with your quirk, giving his wrist a quick, hopefully reassuring squeeze. “Why don’t we take this upstairs, yeah? Hawks you can get that file you need and you two can talk with a little more privacy,” you suggest. The woman gives you an almost detached look but nods and Hawks sighs “yea sure,” before turning to go up the elevator.
The top floor is blissfully empty. You wish you could appreciate being in Endeavor’s agency a bit more but you’re more concerned for Keigo and the woman who is apparently his mother. She goes to take a seat at one of the desks and sits there quietly. “I’m sorry. I promised you a proper night out,” Keigo sighs and it breaks your heart a little seeing him like this. “It’s ok Kei, we can take a rain check,” you promise giving him a small smile before turning to leave and give him privacy. “Wait,” he says suddenly as he lurches forward to grab hold of your wrist. You turn back to look at him and find desperation so clear in his golden eyes.
“Stay?”
“Of course.”
He gives a relieved sigh before steeling himself and turning back to face his mother. “What do you need?” he asks, and the simple act of asking seems to be draining for him. “The commission money is running out. I didn’t know how to contact you so I waited until everyone had gone and came here. I figure being number two and all you could help me out?” she asks. “How much?” “Just enough to last me until I get a job.” “You’re not even looking for a job.” “I am.” “Stop lying.” “Fine then I just need enough to pay for food for awhile. You and the HPSC got me in that big, fancy house, the food is all I really need.” Hawks somehow doubts that’s true. “Fine, I’ll deposit some money into your account. Here’s my number too. Just call next time,” he tells her as one of his feathers unearths a business card from his desk and puts it on the desk she’s sitting at. For a moment she stares at the little card as if unable to register what it is, but eventually she does take it off the desk hesitantly, as if afraid it may disappear. “Thank you. Goodbye Keigo,” she says before standing and heading to the elevator. She’s about to walk out when she suddenly stops. “I am proud of you by the way,” she confesses but before Keigo can respond she steps into the elevator and then she’s gone. “I’m sorry you had to see that,” Keigo sighs. “Don’t apologize,” you assure him. “I ruined our evening. I think that warrants an apology,” he scoffs and you hate the self deprecating undertone you can hear in it. “Tell you what, why don’t you grab that file we need and then I’ll take you some place,” you offer. He gives you an odd look but nods all the same. You try to convince yourself this isn’t a horrible idea.
A cemetery. The place you had taken him was a cemetery. Hawks isn’t sure what to think but he can tell this isn’t necessarily easy for you as you lead him through the tombstones. You finally stop at a marker and sit down in front of it. Hawks joins you, eyes scanning your face before finally drifting to the tombstone. He freezes when he recognizes your last name at the top. There’s one name engraved below that, a woman’s, and Keigo finally puts the pieces together. “My dad was a big gambler,” you start to explain, “but he wasn’t very good at it. He was constantly betting big and losing it all. My mom would work long hours all day every day just trying to get food on the table and he would blow it all in a night or two. It wasn’t sustainable, obviously, so he started getting into shady shit to make up the extra funds. I guess eventually he screwed over the wrong person, they came to the house to settle the score so to speak but he was gone so my mom paid the price for him. I was on my way home from school at the time so, um, I ended up being the one to find her.” Keigo reaches over to gently take your hand but doesn’t say a word. He doesn’t need to. “My dad was arrested about a year or so after my debut as a hero, just when I was starting to gain momentum at All Might’s. The press ate that shit up, it was all over the news. I think that’s why they’re so hard on me now. They’re just waiting for me to prove I’m no better than the situation I grew up in,” you finish. “Maybe your dad and mine are sharing a cell,” Keigo offers and it’s far more than you ever expected from him. “That’s why your real name is a secret.” Keigo nods. “It was a deal my mother struck with the HPSC. She gave them me, they gave her a fuck ton of money and both of us a fresh start. The Takami name was wiped from both our records,” he explains. “How old were you?” “Six or seven.” “That’s hard.” “Yea.” The two of you briefly lapse back into silence before you finally clear your throat, forcing back any tears that were threatening to fall. “Anyway, I didn’t bring you here to tell you how shit my dad was. I, um, like to come here sometimes to talk to her. I figured it was only fair that you meet my mom since I met yours,” you explain, “if you’re comfortable with it, that is.” “I’d love to meet your mom,” Keigo says, giving your hand a tight squeeze. You respond with a watery smile before turning back to the tombstone. “Hey Mom. I know it’s been a minute since my last visit, work has been kinda crazy. Midoriya and Bakugo are doing well! I think Midoriya is going to propose soon and Bakugo finally got his act together with Kirishima. That’s Red Riot’s real name. I don’t remember if I told you that last time. Anyway, there’s someone here I want you to meet,” you say before turning expectantly to Keigo. “Hey Mrs. (y/l/n), it’s really great to meet you. I’m Keigo, your daughter’s new friend,” he introduces himself and it warms your heart to hear him do it with his real name and not his hero one. “You raised a pretty amazing woman ma’am. I hope you’re proud of her,” he finishes.
The two of you stay at the gravestone trading stories with each other and to your mom late into the night. There’s something freeing about it and when the two of you finally do take your leave, one thought sticks out to you amongst the rest: Against all odds, you’re in love with Keigo Takami.
Author’s Note: THIS CHAPTER WOW. First of all I really be hurtin my own damn feelings 🥲 but also as y’all can tell I very much was inspired by the backstory we got from the latest manga chapter. I’m sure the FBI agent monitoring me was very confused why I was googling what Japanese cemeteries look like but here we are. This is one of very few parts in this series that isn’t directly linked to a song off the album so it was a little harder to write but we finally got there

Kaminari Relizes He Might Be Bisexual
Main masterlist
Bnha masterlist
So I love Kaminari, Shinsou, Bakugo, and Kirishima, and I ship them all with myself. But subversive that’ll never happen I also ship them with other characters, I love Kiribaku, Tododeku, and and Shinkami, because I’m a sucker for the grumpy/rude x ball of sunshine trope, it’s my favorite ever. So here have this drabble I have made up which is based on this post here by the lovely @paunchsalazar specifically the first panel. I hope I did it justice. :;(∩^﹏^∩);:
Also, haha, Sweater Weather played while writing this, completely by accident, I just put my playlist on shuffle, and I have over 1,000 songs on there so it was like over a 1/1000(probably less than that? Idk how shuffling works on spotify) that it would play and it did lmao.
Warnings: Angst(I guess it is considering the kind of stuff I write), boi questioning his sexuality, fluff, platonic comfort(I guess)????, swearing, Kirishima being the best gay bff everrrrr, Shinsou being lowkey heteronormative(even tho he’s big gay), teeny tiny manga spoilers(only about the stuff right after where the anime leaves off), Shinsou being oblivious(surprising I know)
Another thing I’d like to say, this isn’t my usual content, I usually only post x reader stuff, but I hope you all enjoy nevertheless. Without farther a due...
⊱ ❀ ✿ ꕥ ✿ ❀ ⊰
Kaminari knew he liked girls since he was younger. Sure he had gay friends, and sure he might have thought once or twice ‘do I like boys?’ ‘Am I gay?’ But he always shot down these questions quickly, because he liked girls, he can’t be gay if he liked girls, right?
Then why did he feel this way? Why was his heart racing whoever Shisou walked by? He thought this feeling was solely reserved for girls, at least for him. Need less to say he was confused. And scared, what if he wasn’t straight? He knew he had no reason to be scared, and there was nothing wrong with not being straight.
Shinsou knew he was gay. He never likes girls as more than a friend, and when he started his teen years and looked at yah know... porn. He always found himself to be the most turned on by the male, even when he first started, and watched the most basic boring ass porn ever, he’d always focus on the man more.
So while it was a surprise that he found himself staring longingly at the blond fuckboy, it was not because he was a boy. His suprise had was more because Kaminari was not his type, at all. His type were the most stereotypical ‘bad boys’ or people who were openly gay. He liked to say he didn’t have time for people questioning themselves.
Both of them on the outside acted unfased by their realizations. Well, Kaminari tried, he failed though. Shinsou didn’t though, which made Kaminari more worried. Because what if Shinsou doesn’t like him?
All of these thoughts about his sexuality ran through his head nonstop, ever since Shinsou had done the joint training with classes 1-A and 1-B. And he tried to push them down, and hope they went away, but they didn’t. And they got worse when Shinsou joined 1-A. And one day Kaminari was just so sick of being confused, and had the courage to actually talk about his thoughts, so he brought it up to Kirishima. ‘He’s gay, so he would know stuff, right?’
“Hey. Um Kirishima?” Kaminari started in shire of where to begin.
“What’s up bro?” Kirishima responded.
“Nothing. Not nothing though, there’s something I need to ask you.”
“Well shoot bro, anything you need you can tell me.” Kirishima said, and luckily his encouraging words helped boost Kaminari confidence.
“How do you know if your gay?” Kaminari asked quickly.
“Hmm, well that’s kind of difficult, I guess I didn’t know if I was gay, I kind of just didn’t like girls, and found boys more attractive.” Kirishima answered, tapping his chin.
“Why do you ask? Do you think your gay?” Kirishima asked.
“Well no, because I like girls, I know I like girls, I like them a lot, but there’s a boy, and he makes me feel how I feel when I see a really cute girl.” Kaminari said nervously, finding it difficult to actually put his feelings to words.
“So you think you like boys and girls?” Kirishima questioned, trying to understand the situation at hand. Kaminari nodded, saying silent.
“Well to me it sounds like your bisexual, if you want a label for it, you don’t need a label if you don’t want to though.” Kirishima deduced, trying time help his friend the best he could. But Kaminari nodded and said a simple ‘thanks’ before walking away.
‘Bisexual huh? Bisexual, I like girls and boys, I am bisexual’ Kaminari said inside his head over and over again, testing how it sounded. He liked it, it brought him peace he hasn’t felt in a while. ‘I am bisexual. I AM BISEXUAL!!!!!’
But just because he knew his sexuality doesn’t mean that he has the confidence to tell the guy he fell for. But it’s a start and he’s happy.
Shinsou found it increasingly harder to ignore his feelings towards Kaminari. Especially when they sat right next to each other, or when they trained together, or when Kaminari invited him to a study session with Kirishima and Bakugo, or when Kaminari would sit next to him at lunch.
His schedule consisted of, wakings up, think about Kaminari, get read for school while thinking about Kaminari, go to school while thinking about Kaminari, pay attention in school but inevitably getting distracted by Kaminari, go back the dorms and in his room, study while thinking about Kaminari, stay up late while thinking about Kaminari, go to bed, and repeat. This annoyed him to no end. ‘Why wont that straight fuckboy get out of my head?!’
He always did this whoever he fell for a staight boy, he’d push all the feelings down until they were gone, and it worked, so why they fuck wouldn’t it work this time? Whatever was happening, he was not having it, he was fucking done with these feelings, and one solution he never did was confess. But that was the only solution he had left.
Kaminari was ready. He was ready to tell Shinsou his feelings, he wasn’t ready for rejection but that’s not something he wanted to think about. He had just came back from the nearest floral shop, and was making his way to his dorm room, when he ran into Shinsou. He almost dropped the flowers he got. Which was something he didn’t want, he had to pay extra to get it custom made with the flowers he wanted. The bouquet consisted of blue, purple, yellow and black flowers, all colors he knew Shinsou liked, but they also represented both of them, the blue and purples for Shinsou, and black and yellow for him.
‘Oh he must be on his way to ask out a girl.’ Shinsou noticed. He hated the sting he felt in his chest, but that’s why he was here.
“I need to tell you something-“
“I need to tell you something-“ They both said at the same time.
“You can go first.” Kaminari said, as Shinsou went silent.
‘Why did he need talk to me?’ ‘There’s now way right?’ ‘No no no.’ ‘I couldn’t even date him if he did.’ ‘I don’t date people like him.’ He was to distracted by his thoughts to hear Kaminari speak.
“Hello? Earth to Shinsou?” Kaminari said waving his hand in front of him.
“Oh sorry, what did you say?” Shinsou respinded snapping back to reality.
Kaminari laughed “I just said you can go first.”
‘I love his laugh.’ ‘No bad Shinsou! No feelings no feelings for straight dudes!’
“Okay. Well I wanted to tell you... I find you attractive, like really attractive, like in the gay kind of way. But I know you’re straight, which is fine, I just need to tell you so I can get over you and move on with my life.” Shinsou said with a straight face.
Kaminari stood in shock at what he had said, happy the he felt the same. However Shinsou took this shock as the ‘suprised a gay guy likes me, a straight guy.’ Kind of suprise, so he nodded and started to walk away, which made Kaminari come out of his shock.
“Wait! That’s what I wanted to talk about though!” Kaminari said running after him. Shinsou was taken aback as he heard Kaminari’s words. He turned around to face him.
“I like you too. I find you attractive too.” He explained
“Oh and these are for you, I’ve never dated a guy before, but whenever I go out on a date with a girl a bring her flowers.” Kaminari nervously put his hand with the bouquet out, while the other found the back of his neck.
Shinsou was confused, Kaminari liked him, but he mentioned girls. He had no problem dating bisexual guys, but he had one to many experiences where they would say they’re bisexual, but end of being straight and breaking his heart.
He took the flowers “uh, thanks I guess? I’ve never gotten flower before.”
“But about the like me and girls, are you just questioning? Are you bisexual? What’s going on there?” Shinsou asked.
“Oh, umm. Well I’m pretty sure I’m bisexual, I talked to Kirishima, and he suggested it to me and I liked it, so yeah.” Kaminari shrugged.
“You don’t just ‘like’ a sexuality, it’s not something you choose.” Shinsou responds, starting to get angry, ‘so he might be messing with me huh?’
“No no it’s not like that! The label felt comfortable, like more right I guess? Than straight?” Kaminari rushed, trying to explain himself.
“Look I get that you like me, and I may like you too, but I don’t date guys who are still trying to figure their sexuality out.” Shinsou responded, and started to walk away again, he might not stay true to his words if he didn’t.
‘He’s to cute. Why does he have to be cute? He’s probably just straight.’
“Wait!!!” Kaminari cried, he wasn’t just going to let him get away, not when he knew Shinsou liked him too.
Shinsou didn’t stop this time, he kept going. ‘Don’t turn around. Don’t turn around. You don’t date straight boys. You told him, these feelings should be gone!!!!’
“Please!!!” Kaminari said, his voice getting closer to Shinsou. “Please wait let me explain! I’m not confused about my sexuality, I figured it out I’m just having a hard time putting it into words!”
‘Don’t turn around. Don’t turn around.’ ‘Fuck it.’ Shinsou turned around to find Kaminari right behind him, and he did something he’s never done. He grabbed Kaminari’s shirt and pulled him down into a kiss. ‘His lips they’re soft, so soft.’
Kaminari stood still for a moment before he started to kiss back. Snaking his hands around Shinsous neck.
“Was that as good as kissing a girl?” Shinsou asked after pulling away.
“Honestly? It was better, way better.” Kaminari reponded before kissing him again.
And it would be one of many kisses they would share.

U might be getting this a lot idk but what is your opinion on mitsuki and bakugo's family life (like if he's been through domestic abuse and such)
Hmm, it’s one of those really tricky questions, because (1) we have seen Mitsuki only in one situation (which was very high-stress), (2) the definition of child abuse is very culture-dependent - in some places any physical or verbal attack would be immediately considered abuse, in many others, “physical punishment”, like light smacking is separate from child abuse, where some kind of injury is the threshold, (3) it’s not sure how much of the scene was supposed to be Hori’s slapstick comedy, like much of the scenes of physical retribution against Mineta, or when Bakugou stabs Deku in the head with his collar.
So different readings can be made of the same scene. I can give you mine as for now (caveat: in my wider family there were many people with anger issues and aggressive communication, so my personal threshold for these things is quite high):
I can whole-heartedly agree with All Might, that the Bakugou family-home is at least highly dysfunctional, and Mitsuki’s parental style was definitely a big contributor to Katsuki’s own issues with not being able to read and process his own emotions appropriately - everything being translated into anger.
The first picture we see is Mitsuki lightly whacking Katsuki - it’s not meant to hurt, more a pre-emptive strike to keep him in check. I think she means it in a funny way, but clearly she’s inconsiderate of Katsuki’s feelings who probably feels humiliated. (Also, she’s not the only person using whacks - it’s used in a various parts of the manga to get people out of their own headspace - e.g. Mirio does it to Deku, so does All Might).
Tumblr media
Katsuki reacts with (understandable) anger - and to me the dynamic is not so much one of oppression and fear, but an ingrained dysfunction of communication, where Bakugou to cover up his embarrassment in front of the two teachers who at this point are the most respected adults in his life calls his mother rude names and physically threatens her, though I’m fairly certain it’s an empty threat and he wouldn’t actually raise a finger to her. While Mitsuki to cover up how rattled she is, is attacking Katsuki and blaming him for his own kidnapping (this is btw the scanlation, not the official VIZ-translation, which always uses much stronger language). This kind of victim-blaming and gaslighting is very harmful for the self-esteem of children, and obviously even worse in the state Katsuki is post-Kamino.
Tumblr media
Masaru’s intervention is very weak and ineffectual, his peacemaking efforts are rejected by Katsuki. But it is more about the appearances than the root-cause of the problem. In any case, it reinforces that the entire Bakugou family is aware that their behaviour is very much inappropriate, but they just can’t help themselves, because this style of communication is just so deeply ingrained.
Tumblr media
Now with this exchange out of the way, let’s focus on the second part that is much less referenced.
Mitsuki first tries to brush off Aizawa’s question with a joke, but then she lets a rare moment of sincerity.
Tumblr media
And it turns out that she sees Katsuki’s problems quite clearly - that the too much empty praise all focused on his power (she seems to be a part of this) affected his personality and behaviour. (If I had to guess, but this is pure speculation on my part, Katsuki’s parents were early on also very much focused on his exceptional quirk, being proud of his talent and potential, and it took them a while to realize how it started to push Katsuki in a bad direction. And by the time they caught on that there was a problem, it was very difficult to reel in Katsuki’s willful personality, which could have lead to the spiralling of aggressive language and smackdowns in the family. They simply didn’t know what to do with him.)
And to their credit, Mitsuki and Masaru do realize that UA is a better influence for Katsuki than they themselves are, and she is clearly touched by Aizawa’s public support for Katsuki, so I think despite all the dysfunction, the aggressive and belittling language, they do truly love Katsuki and want to do what’s best for him. Also, Mitsuki understands that there is another layer to Katsuki underneath the insolent, self-centered brat, but she is unable to connect with that person, because honest, positive communication is basically non-existent in the family.
Tumblr media
And when she’s not trying to cover up her emotions, she’s actually able to express that she was worried about her son in a quite affectionate way (Katsuki’s face tells me in that panel that it’s the first time he hears that), and also has an acute assessment of the situation the school is in. Finally, the fact that she is asking them not to go easy on Katsuki, kind of shows that she knows that he badly needs a different type of influence than what he got at home and in his lower grades in school.
Tumblr media
The Bakugou household situation gets referenced two more times. Once during the remedial arc, where Bakugou advocates for a violent smackdown of the brats, saying that’s how he was raised. I think considering that they are dealing with a bunch of kids with their teachers watching, Bakugou is not advocating for serious violence, but more like a “show them who is top dog”. But he backs down at Todoroki’s request, because he knows violence in his experience is a whole different level, but perhaps also admitting that whether it’s low-level smacks or the Todoroki-household level of violence, it doesn’t lead to winning anyone’s heart and if anything will rile up the kids more.
Tumblr media
The other example is when Bakugou reacts to the shitstorm that goes down at the Todoroki dinner, which basically implies that he finds it less shocking that there are problems in itself and more just a question of politeness of keeping it under wraps (which was Masaru’s attitude during the teacher-visit).
Tumblr media
TL;DR:
So in conclusion, I do believe that Bakugou’s household is very dysfuntional, especially how they seem to have elevated verbal and light physical aggression to everyday communication, which probably heavily contributed to Bakugou’s anger issues, low self-esteem, emotional constipation and his lack of communication skills. He was probably not an easy child to start with (precocious, confident, self-centered, extremely talented, wildly competitive children are hard to parent well), and clearly Mitsuki and Masaru were not up for the task.
But I also think that they genuinely love him and want what’s best for him.

Confession: Deku Annoys Me
Disclaimer: I’m not entirely caught up on BNHA - I read the manga/wiki pretty much at random.
I can’t stand how obnoxiously perfect Deku is. He was presented as this underdog protagonist but hasn’t been since episode 1. And I don’t just mean his quirk - OFA is powerful, but All Might doesn’t have the same Gary Stu problems Deku has. My problem with Deku isn’t that he’s too physically powerful, but that he plays too many roles in class 1-A. Right now he’s:
1. A physical powerhouse. Only Todoroki, Bakugo, and nighttime Tokoyami can even compete.
2. Probably the fastest student. Full cowl 8% was already about as fast as Gran Torino, and Iida hasn’t been useful for several arcs...
3. The best strategist. Even though Yaomomo is canonically a genius, and Iida and Bakugou are more booksmart, most of the time it’s Midoriya that comes up with a brilliant yet simple plan to save everyone’s asses. Yaomomo only really seems to be relevant when she’s in school, taking a test. Midoriya had the best actually useful plans during the U.S.J. incident, Kamino, etc.
4. The most effortlessly selfless. (I mean, this goes without saying, this is pretty much his defining character trait.)
5. The best leader. His classmates voted for him at the beginning of their first year, and pretty much everyone except Bakugou defers to him without hesitation in sticky situations.
6. The hardest worker. He’s always training, always trying to improve. Remember the air chair exercise in Season 1? Casually just squatting throughout the entire class. Everyone was in absolute awe.
7. The most inspirational. Everyone looks up to him, from Aoyama to Kota. Aizawa notes he and Bakugo are the pillars of 1-A.
8. The most social. Yeah he’s presented as an awkward nerd, but he makes friends in two seconds flat with everyone. He’s charmed his way into friendships with Aoyama and Todoroki. Eri absolutely adores him. He’s always sweet, thoughtful, likable.
9. He’s even good looking. Ochako and Toga have crushes on him, and his art is designed to be pleasant to the eye.
Although BNHA tries to pretend Deku has flaws, he actually doesn’t, because they’ve never had any real life consequences.
“He’s insecure.” Well, his insecurity rarely hurts him. He was always committed to pursuing his dreams as a hero. He doesn’t lash out at others when he feels unworthy. When death is hammering at the door, he magically summons the confidence not just to act, but even to command and to inspire others. In real life, insecurity is often much more debilitating. Insecurity in real life often means you don’t even try because you believe you’ll fail, you get uncomfortable or temperamental around people who make you feel less than, and you don’t magically get a confidence boost when it’s convenient. Yaomomo’s arc is much more compelling than Deku’s when it comes to overcoming insecurity because, unlike Deku, her insecurity actually holds her back.
“He’s an awkward nerd.” That hurt him when he was a child, hanging out with Bakugo, but since he entered UA, he manages to effortlessly charm everyone he knows, so really, he doesn’t have a significant social handicap. His awkwardness is presented as sincere, endearing, and funny more than anything.
“He’s selfless to a fault.” To what fault? He gets lectured, but he’s always right in the end. His charging into danger without any regard for his own safety has been proven to be the right thing to do several times. He inspired All Might to fight against the sludge monster. He saved Bakugo when he was kidnapped. Yeah, he breaks bones doing selfless things, but this is shonen - temporary pain has very little emotional weight because everyone gets hurt all the time, and then they get healed by magic. He breaks his bones, discovers he has legs, and then goes back to fighting at pretty much full strength. A cool looking scar doesn’t count as a real consequence of his selflessness. Honestly, I’m just waiting for Deku to rush in to save one person even though he’s warned against it, and because of that, the villains are alerted of their presence/he isn’t there to help others when they need them, and several other people die as a result.
To be clear, none of what I’ve mentioned above is a problem on its own. OFA is obviously an absurdly powerful quirk. Midoriya spent years taking notes on heroes and learning from them. He’s naturally a selfless person - that’s the point of his character. He should be likable, clever, hardworking, and inspirational. But he shouldn’t be the strongest AND fastest AND smartest AND most selfless AND the best leader AND the hardest working AND the most charismatic AND the most social, all while having pretty much zero relevant flaws. It’s absurd. Especially in a place like UA - isn’t it supposed to be one of the two best hero schools in the country?
I know plenty of people who have gone to top tier universities, work at Google, are top ranked athletes, etc. None of them have been anywhere near as perfect as Midoriya. Generally, if you’re the most athletic person in the room, it’s not likely you’re also the smartest. If you’re the most likable, you’re probably not the hardest working. If you’re the most selfless, you’re probably not the leader who gains everyone’s undying loyalty and respect. Perfection almost never happens. You can’t be the best at everything, especially at a place like UA, which is supposed to be the Harvard of the BNHA world. Rather, everyone should shine in certain areas only. For example:
Yaomomo is canonically a genius, and she’s also shown to be meticulous and hardworking. She should be the best strategist of 1-A.
Ojiro made it to UA with just a tail - no fancy, overpowered tricks, just a damn tail. Just think about how hard you have to work to stand on the same level as people who can destroy buildings with a punch, shock a dozen people simultaneously with electricity, and shatter rock with their ears. It’s not even some magical tail, it’s just a damn tail. He has to have worked his ass off to get in incredible shape, think of ways to creatively use his quirk, and learn martial arts. Ojiro should be the hardest worker of 1-A.
Kirishima is easygoing, loving, loyal, and charming. He should be the one befriending Aoyama, earning people’s trust, inspiring children. He should be the most social and charismatic of 1-A.
Highlighting the abilities and positive traits of these three would be a easy way to get more attention on BNHA’s fantastic cast while also helping Deku grow as a character.
Or, just treat Deku the way BNHA treats All Might. All Might is amazing but he’s far from perfect. He’s not the best strategist - he’s very smart, but he still relied on Nighteye to look out for him. He’s caring and charming, but is shown to be a pretty mediocre teacher. His overwhelming selflessness and his heart-over-head mentality actually had consequences in that it cost him his relationship with Nighteye. His trusting nature and his empathy for the powerless led to conflict and complications when he chose Midoriya over Mirio. His heroic drive wrecked his health, forced him into retirement, and prevented him from saving more people.
Even Mirio, who is probably a Gary Stu, gets arguably better treatment than Deku because, although he’s very powerful, he doesn’t shine academically/strategically the way Deku does, and he also literally loses his quirk as a result of his selflessness. Todoroki and Bakugo both also have plenty of flaws/weaknesses, and suffer for their mistakes all the time.
I still root for Deku, but honestly I continue to follow BNHA mostly for characters like Todoroki, Aizawa, Kirishima, and Yaomomo.

On Bakugo
While I am no stranger to enjoying dark pairings even to the point that they actually kill each other or at least try in the actual canon source (Jonathan/Dio, Ryo/Akira, Thor/Loki) I must say ive never come across a character I feel as conflicted about as Bakugo from My Hero Academy in that...I loathe his actual canon character. I like a lot of villainous bad guys while not endorsing in real life but one thing I can’t stand are bullies and its worse when in and out of show there are tons of pretty unearned praise lavished upon someone who is supposed to be a hero but only barely there for the shallowest selfish reasons. I’d ironically have more respect for him as a villain and it doesn’t help that literally everything about Bakugo screams a villain when the only thing really stopping him is that he couldn’t be number one as a villain and villains are losers mentality. He’s rude, mean, vulgar, abrasive and how he treats others is deplorable which makes exceptions for how he’s pretty okay in comparison with how he treats Kirishima and sometimes Kaminari remarkable. When he actually likes someone it actually works. But I want him as far, far away from Midoryia Izuku in canon as possible because their relationship as is...is all kinds of messed up. It’s tried to pass off as a rival ship and I am a fan of enemies to lovers but for a long time he legitimately hates and bullies Midoryia solely because he was quirkless and delighted in humiliating him in front of everyone etc that it really warps.
On the other hand, the artwork is amazing. Like honestly I’ve seen so much good stuff for Bakudeku it’s just such a mind mash considering how it actually is in the show and manga. Physically, Bakugo is a dang good aesthetic (which makes how he actually is so much more disappointing) and he and Izuku are adorable together. I prefer Kirishima and Bakugo because they actually get along and it isn’t a case of unhealthy pedestal idolizing (which is a thing Izuku does severely with both All Might and Bakugo) and further traumatized that he makes excuses for Bakugo but fanon Bakugo in art is pretty  amazing and he and Izuku in various forms are pretty great. It’s a case of I love the art and they look so good together and if Bakugo actually was as good as people made him or if only canon Bakugo was dialed even just a little bit back it could have really worked.
Like the au fanon stuff is amazing in other universes where Bakugo wasn’t such a beep or as bad and I even enjoy him. I will never ever like the thought of actual canon in character Bakugo or him with Izuku which is a whole bowl of yikes but I just love the pretty art. It’s all about the aesthetic. But it doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with or like the character. Bakugo and Kirishima in character is the only pairing I really see working (or maybe Todoroki and Bakugo) in the actual canon and that’s only because Kirishima is amazing and (somehow) genuinely friends with Bakugo and super positive that it rubs off on him. They are a great pairing too. I just love them together as then Bakugo is actually almost tolerable and he actually went with Kirishima when they go rescue him.
Anyways I’m rambling. In summary, its just aesthetic and how I can both appreciate and drag on him and what it really is to be a complex character to be sure.

I Need To Stop Reading Into Things…😂
Yet again for @kiricookie .
[Check out this post first.]
So… we’re here again. Lord forgive me, I’m back on my bulls***.
Okay, jokes aside, I really should stop doing these things, but I am a stubborn individual. Plus, I wanna see how our notes compare, and try to have more civil discussions on the internet than I see on average. I’d reblog, but again, your post is already long as is (not incredibly long, but still), and I’d rather not occupy dashboard space more than I need to.
Alright, I think I’ve said my piece. Let’s talk about your post…
Oof. Starting right in the heart of the issue, really.
I am aware that Izuku is… incredibly likeable. I am aware that some of his issues, while perceived by some as noble, are heavily problematic and probably need to get sorted out before the boy gets a close audience with death. I am also aware that some of his habits are less than courteous in some circumstances, though like you said, Izuku has the benefit of having no malicious intent when it comes to these actions, even if they can come off as annoying.
Now, regarding Katsuki’s snail pace development… I get what you’re trying to say, but that doesn’t make it come off as any less frustrating...
As much as I want to believe that Katsuki’s upbringing in society is what’s stunted his growth so badly, I wish the narrative was more willing to show it. All we’ve gotten of Katsuki’s past are flashbacks from Izuku, remarks during the visit to the Bakugo household, and the “raised with violence” line from the Remedial Course arc. Now this understandably paints a pretty terrible picture, but uh… what has Katsuki done to try to fix it? How has Katsuki tried to demonstrate that his upbringing wasn’t justified? Why is he imitating the behaviors he supposedly despises, that supposedly keep him held back, instead of trying to find a workaround? I’ve only seen a few growth/redemption arcs of antagonistic characters, but even if the arcs took long, there was always an ultimate reason for doing so. And Katsuki doesn’t have that. At least, not yet.
It’s been implicitly established that Katsuki’s growth will be the mother of all slowburns. I’ve mentioned it in this old post of mine, but this is doing Katsuki no favors, at least for me. Now don’t get me wrong, I love myself a flawed character, but there’s only so much I can stomach before a flawed character becomes less “flawed” and more “asshole.” I personally believe that his true growth doesn’t get started until “Deku vs. Kacchan 2” (Episode 61), but if we really wanna consider that “Bakugo’s Start Line” (Episode 8) is his… well, start line, then that only makes it worse. Because again, his character arc is, as we’ve established, slow. But the fact that it’s slow enough for several other character arcs to transpire (Shoto, Tenya), as well as slow enough to allow “background characters” some significant development and return to relevancy (Eijiro, Hitoshi), I start wanting to stop holding my breath for his arc’s supposedly inevitable conclusion. Now I know you personally consider the suspense a positive, but it’s the opposite for me. I’d chalk it up to impatience, but again, MULTIPLE character arcs have transpired, and a few have been far more believably gradual compared to Katsuki’s.
While it is impressive that Katsuki was willing to pour out his feelings to Izuku, I’d like to argue that it wasn’t as… well, sentimental. Remember that society and Izuku’s peers before UA regarded him as the lowest of the low. The weakest, the most worthless. “The pebble in the path.” Considering that Katsuki lost the Training Exercise AND technically got outsmarted by Izuku, who was considered this until VERY RECENTLY, I’d imagine that’d be one hell of a blow to his ego. It is still significant that he’s willing to talk to Izuku about this, but it’s not exactly because he’s humbling himself. It’s because he’s begrudgingly admitting that he’s not the best, and it’s been well established that he HATES not being the absolute best. And I don’t know about you, but suddenly getting your high expectations crushed after years of nothing but “positive reinforcement” should not be made as big of a deal as it is here. I’m not saying to get over it, because you’ll never get over it, you have to live with it and learn from it, but don’t make it seem like it’s the end of the world and a half like Katsuki did in that scene. Plus, didn’t he essentially reaffirm that he was going to do what he planned to do from the start of his tenure at UA? I mean, good on him for his dedication, but you’d think the guy would want to take a step back and actually try to learn from others if they were so impressive.
Now, the DC Superhero franchise falls in and out from my radar at times, but I don’t think Katsuki and Batman are a good comparison for the point you're trying to make. Yes they both use violence, and yes they’re both intimidating, but for entirely different reasons. Batman uses fear tactics because he finds them efficient; I don’t know what they’re doing with his character nowadays, but from what I can gather in his earlier incarnations, Batman’s not out for blood. Vengeace, sure, but he doesn’t waste time getting there beating the snot out of his enemies. He takes care of them, sends them off, and keeps on trucking. Before they tried making him even more edgy, he didn’t kill and he kept away from firearms because he was well aware of any issues he had. He may not be a goodie two-shoes like most heroes, but he does show definitive empathy in some of his earlier incarnations. Remember, Batman was the kid who lost his parents to injustice. That was his entire reason for taking up the cowl, for becoming more than Bruce Wayne. In the Justice League Unlimited Episode “Epilogue,” he has the option to kill Ace, a teen villain with dangerously growing psychic powers. He doesn’t do that. He takes the seat next to Ace as she begins to die. He offers his support as Ace has to confront the terrifying realization that she is dying. He’s helping another scared kid, because he knows what it’s like.
That’s heroism. That’s Batman.
Katsuki’s motivations and actions aren’t as sympathetic. Him lashing out isn’t for anything strategical; early on in the series and even after his “Start Line,” up until the Endeavor Agency Arc, I believe, Katsuki’s sole motivations are victory and bloodlust. Even if it seems like he’s growing more chivalrous with his resolve, he backslides so many times back into the angry loudmouth trope its hard to want to keep hope, because if he can backslide multiple times before, what’s to stop him from backsliding again? It ruins the suspense for some people. And people are intimidated by Katsuki, but that’s because he’s borderline unhinged. I’d be scared s***less too if a pyrokinetic powerhouse was gunning on me with his eyes glowing like the fires of Hell as he radiated killing intent (an exaggeration, but still). I have yet to see Katsuki use this intimidation “tactic” of his beyond the fact that he appears to be enjoying it, either.
Alright, enough of that, let’s analyze that penultimate question: why hate Katsuki? If you asked me early on, I would say that yes, I don’t like him because he hurts Izuku. But as I’ve continued looking throughout the series, I now say that I don’t like him because, contrary to what he says, virtually everything is handed to him. Most of the time, its people mistaking his battle thirst as chivalrous determination, whether it be against a villain or just a standard opponent. He never tries to make himself any more “likeable,” and while Class 1-A is quick to call him out for this in the USJ Arc, by the Sports Festival they’re all flocking to him, and I have yet to understand any proper reasoning for this. It’s less like Katsuki proving there’s more to him than meets the eye and earning the respect of his peers, and more so that people latch on to the abstract concept of Katsuki’s coolness and strength, and he just begrudgingly tolerates them from there.
I mean, Eijiro was wholeheartedly against Katsuki’s actions during the Battle Trial, yet by the USJ the difference is night and day, and it doesn’t help that he’s interpreting Katsuki’s desire to beat up villains as “faith in his classmates.” Shoto was abused by Endeavor, so the fact that he can’t at least draw some comparisons between Katsuki and his sperm donor is slightly concerning, and while I want to chalk it up to his stunted social skills, I feel like Hori and/or his editors trying to shove in a friendship to increase their overall likeability (especially Katsuki’s) is more likely. Don’t even get me started on the hoops they jump through in the Joint Training Arc. Not even gonna touch that…
Okay, finally made it to the last paragraph. So, here’s something about me you may or may not like: I don’t like people dying, good or bad. Unless their actions are comparable to that of Satan, or at least close, then they shouldn’t get the axe. Why?
Because a dead person can’t change… and a dead person can’t suffer.
Believe me, even though I’ve fallen off the bandwagon a long time ago, I want Katsuki to change for the better. And he can’t do that if he’s dead. The manga’s most recent arc has been hella frustrating because of that, and no spoilers, but the two deaths that did occur did not leave me in high spirits. Hawks, Shigaraki, you both are on thin f***ing ice I swear. So no, lucky for you, I do NOT want to see Katsuki dead just because he happens to be an ass. What I wanna see is proper repercussions that go beyond being a villain hostage and having everyone else’s potential trauma downplayed for the sake of giving Katsuki more sympathy points.
Also, I’m well aware Katsuki’s death would absolutely ruin Izuku. I am also well aware that it is one of the few concrete facts I hate with nearly every fiber of my body. Not because of what it says about Izuku…
...but because I am sick and tired of Katsuki continuing to be the arrogant s*** he is, whether it be his genuine feelings or merely a front. I am sick of the fact that for as smart and aware that someone like him is, he still insists on trying to act like a badass when there is no need or overall expectation to do so. I am sick that he continues to decide to put himself and others in jeopardy, all for the purpose of maintaining his ego. I am sick that he gets all this support, all this help, and yet his development is still worse than a snail’s pace, and the narrative continues to keep letting him off with love taps and leaving him unfairly unprepared for the kill shot.
...maybe Katsuki deserves to get better. But is this really the best way to do it? Really?
Thanks for listening. Hope you got something from all of that.
