Here's a fun little Project Sekai fact! Almost all of your faves have appropriated other cultures as costumes and some have even done blackface. If you're supporting this game and refusing to make a meaningful statement about it beyond "b-b-but i said it was bad! 🥺", you are fucking racist.
You're either anti-racist, or you're a pro-seka blog. Choose one. You can't be both.
Basically everything is problematic and actually I have criticised the cultural appropriation and racism present in the game multiple times, at no point have I refused to acknowledge it (and you’re not the first person to send an anon in). You can play the game and be anti-racist actually it’s called being critical of the media you consume and having social awareness, we’ve been over this. Everything is problematic you probably like problematic media too.
Yeah the game did revival my dream and that was fucking racist, the costumes are stereotypical and they didn’t research into any specifc native culture they just wanted to make something that would get them money. it’s not princess mononoke put the trained costumes next to each other, the trained costumes are heavily stylised to look "pretty and fashionable" and forego accuracy. I’m aware of that, I’ve said this before multiple times but you wouldn’t know that because you just randomly came here to send me this message.
Then there's also the kamikou sports fes set. Luka's qipao is very obviously altered for the sake of fanservice which is just so wrong, do not sexualise other cultures for money. Rui's I think is meant to be some sort of military hanfu? But quite stylised, which again for someone outside the original culture to stylise a traditional outfit just is a no-go because you will probably get things wrong. Mizuki's outfit seems to be based on Qi-lolita and there's a whole thing surrounding that about whether you should wear it if you aren't chinese.
and then there's the island panic cards which are both orientalist. yes, not just the boys, the girls too. the outfits aren't based on any specific culture and just mishmash different swana and south asian cultures and stereotypes together to make something that looks "exotic".
If you notice a recurring thing is that all of these are in some way wxs related, and wonder why that is, it’s because they’re the theatre unit. They wear costumes, these are just cultures being appropriated as stage outfits, because the devs don’t care they just want a quick bit of money.
all of these are horribly common in idol games and gacha games, not just project sekai, and it's important to recognise the problems rather than just blindly consuming it. If it makes money, devs will continue to include ca, recognise that.
and yeah puchiseka episode 6 happened at no point have i ever denied that. it should have never happened but it did and at the very least the fandom was able to rally together and get sega to take it down. even after they did that sega and clpl should still be held accountable for even letting it be released. while they didn't make the episode, that was entirely handled by an external company (who should also be held accountable for their actions - we're never getting a second season for a reason), sega still released it knowing full well the contents. it wasn't ganguro like people said it was extremely clearly based on a very racist and crude interpretation of african tribes, and for part of a joke no less. It was disgusting. And it’s not ganguro like how people defend it; ganguro is part of the gyaru subculture and the outfits in that episode were not that. there is no defence for what happened. at the very least, it was impressive that the fandom called out the episode and actually got staff to listen and learn. that doesn't happen in other games, and we managed to do it again with rmd. the fanbase is calling the game out and actually educating staff. It’s just critical consumption - fans of the media were able to recognise that the episode was racist and correctly called out management with enough of a voice to make staff correct their mistakes. They apologised, it’s not my apology to accept, and I still hold them accountable for the fact it even happened.
This probably all makes me sound like a white saviour, and I don’t want to speak over the people affected by this, but that’s what you wanted, isn’t it? You probably have me blocked already and never followed me in the first place, but if you really wanted to call out racism, then maybe you should’ve sent this to blogs that do turn a blind eye to the flaws in this game, not one that calls them out. Why just me? Was it because of the username, because you’re not the first person to make that quip. I know you won’t see this anon, but a word of advice. Most media is problematic one way or another, you can enjoy something but still be aware of and acknowledge its problems. Project sekai is not made with the intent of encouraging or funding harmful behaviour, yet it still includes some harmful content. Call it out, educate staff and tell them not to do it again, they listened once they can do it again.

✧ Tomoko Noge, code name Kotomo! Her code name seems to be an anagram of her given name, as Kotomo…doesn't really mean anything? With a Persona (and color scheme) like that, I'd be willing to bet she specializes in Psy skills.
✧ YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR HIM, HE'S FINALLY HERE, IT'S LEO! Real name unknown. His Persona has a nice, super sentai sort of feel to it. Unclear if he'll be a character in the game storyline.
✧ Yaoling Li, code name Rin! I guess they decided to fully break away from the code name pattern? I don't think we've seen an in-game model for her yet, but she apparently exists in the P5X storyline as a Chinese transfer student.
✧ That guy we saw alongside Wonder, Kotomo, and Rin in that recent trailer: Kii! Real name unknown. Probably going to specialize in Bless or Fire skills, judging by his Persona design. Unclear if he'll be a character in the game storyline.
✧ And last but not least, Okyann! Real name unknown. Finally, a gyaru gets some time in the spotlight. She seems like she'll be an actual character, and I will cry if she winds up just being gacha fodder. Looks to be noticeably older than the rest of the playable characters thus far.
Of note: in the latest sticker set, Seiji, Mont, Yuki, and Leo only appear in their Thief gear, while Kotomo, Rin, Kii, and Okyann appear in everyday clothing. It would be reasonable to assume that Leo will be joining those first 3 in gacha fodder purgatory, while the other new characters will be incorporated into P5X's storyline.

My favorite easy gyaru hairstyles
In this blogpost I'm gonna share some ideas and inspo for some not so difficult gyaru hairstyles!
The classic sidepony:
This is one of my personal favorites. It's so simple yet such a fun and cute hairstyle !
My ultra simple go-to if I got no time on my hands is a smaller side pony were u leave most of ur hair still down:
This is also really cute with 2 ponytails!
The messy bun:
This timeless classic is one I love with bangs ! I feel like it really elevates the look!
After you just put on a cute bow/scrunchie/whatever hair accessorie u prefer and ur ready to hit town !
The half up:
This one I think is really fun cus it's so versatile. It's a basic style u can both go very simple and very extra with.
It's a great way to make ur hair look big and voluminous without it necessarily being to difficult and time consuming. This hairstyle especially looks great with curly or wavy hair sense it makes the up and down part blend together more.
The bow-bun:
I'm finishing this post with a hairtyle I'm absolutely obsessed with rn ! It might take a few tries to get just right (at least if ur me haha) but it's so adorable it's worth it !
It's simple, it's comfortable, it doesn't require any hair accessories (except alot of bobby pins haha), and to me it's just so gal and so cute, what's not to love?

OK to Jynx Review?
While I'm not the biggest Jynx fan, Smoochum is okay. Jynx was always kind of a weird pick for a pre-evo, as it doesn't really feel like Smoochum's presence really enhances the line in any way, but it is nice to at least have one design here that isn't quite so questionable.
Visually, the pink and yellow palette is nice and there's a fair amount of emphasis on the lips, which makes sense as kissing things is Smoochum's entire deal. The hair is cute and has a nice shape to it as well. It's nothing all that memorable, and I'm personally not a huge fan of human-like baby Pokemon like this, but it's harmless.
Also, side note: Smoochum looks 10x cuter in its original GS art. The slightly wider body shape, inquisitive expression, and little buck tooth really make all the difference.
I've gone on record saying that Jynx is my all-time least favorite Pokemon and yeah, sorry, not a fan of this one.
Obviously the biggest problem here is its face, which is undeniably pretty racist and generally just uncomfortable. This is not helped by it being extremely human-like and vaguely sexualized, with the kissing thing and the chest. They did try to fix it a bit by giving it purple skin as opposed to the original pitch black color, which is slightly better—but purple's not that much different and they didn't really do anything to fix the face, so it's kind of a band-aid solution at best.
Speaking of which, I've noticed that most people try to justify Jynx's design with baseless speculation, which is weird because we know exactly why it's Like That. Here's a design from the beta version of Red and Green (the following information is courtesy of Helix Chamber):
This is either beta Jynx or a Pokemon closely related to it. Its name is Buu, which makes it obvious that it's based on the Ultraman monster Woo, which is A) female (note that Jynx is 100% female), B) a yeti-ish creature (hence the parka here and Jynx's inexplicable ice-typing), and C) a creature with a dark face:
There's no evidence to suggest that GameFreak meant any harm here, but that doesn't make either the beta design or Jynx itself less racist. Just kind of an unfortunate design all around.
Also, even putting that aside, there are just some other odd things with Jynx. It's abnormally humanoid, with hair, five fingers, a dress, and even boobs for some reason. I love humanoid 'mons, but this is a bit too much, and it's hard to see Jynx as something that lives out in nature normally. I also wish something in the final design reflected its ice-typing.
Here's a particularly good redesign that fixes most of my issues with Jynx but still feels like it captures the spirit of the original to some degree:
However, and this is going to sound weird: I think Jynx should get a regional.
Here me out: I get that GameFreak probably doesn't want to acknowledge Jynx too much, but a regional would be the perfect opportunity to redesign it— the regional could even be featured in place of regular Jynx going forward in things like the anime. There are some interesting elements to the design that you could play with—give it tentacles or fins and make it a water-type siren, make it normal-type and give it a viking theme, theme it after different kinds of dancing like Oricorio, etc.
Though on the bright side, Jynx's existence did at least give us one very pretty TCG card, so there's that much, at least:

Hi!! Could you define the difference between jirai kei and ryousangata? I sometimes mix them up more often than not (T_T)

To answer your question, I think we have to look at the meanings of both words first, Ryousangata (量産型) directly translates to mass production type, and in Japan it is used to describe the current mainstream fashion trends. So overtime, ryousangata changes. For example: In the kind of early 2010's (2014-2016) ryousangata could have been gyaru but now in the 2020's, it can be girly/jirai kei.
While jirai kei directly translates to landmine girl. Jirai is one specific j-fashion subculture, while ryousangata is a term for what is trending currently.
For me, at least, I think the confusion stems from what it looks like. While I do have more knowledge on jirai kei, when I search up ryousangata, I get the same clothes as jirai. I think that it is safe to say that you do not have to worry about what the difference between ryousangata and jirai kei is, since ryousangata is a term for what the current mainstream fashion trend is.

do you think that like… the dr characters dye their hair or if its like natural. so curious to hear ur thoughts
i genuinely think its like an Anime Thing where its just natural . but this is fun so lets examine:
list of characters who have unnatural coloured hair : maizono , kuwata , kirigiri , enoshima, nanami , mioda, tanaka ( the streaks ) , pekoyama , souda, ouma , shirogane, toujo , amami, momota, saihara . i debated adding koizumi and yumeno on here ( nobodys hair is THAT red ) but i attributed those to more stylistic choices on natural red hair even though this would be super uncommon for japanese people . lets examine these more closely, aka would this person dye their hair actually ?
maizono - idols dye their hair fun colours all the time! believably dyed .
kuawata - definitely . look at his whole aesthetic.
kirigiri - no and we know its not dyed because of that photo of her as a kid .
enoshima - yes ! i believe she's supposed to represent gyaru fashion, wherein its very common to dye ur hair blonde
nanami - shes an ai so she wouldnt have had to dye it . in the anime her hair is more of a light brown .
mioda - obviously dyes her hair streaks
tanaka - would totally put cool streaks in his hair for the evil aesthetic .
pekoyama - dont see her dyeing her hair + she had grey hair as a kid .
souda - i think his hair being dyed pink is canon.
ouma - his hair just looks black with purple tips which would definitely be dyed , and i totally think this is something he would do. he's obsessed with being zany and whimsical .
shirogane - she would totally dye her hair blue . she just would . either to make herself look more interesting ( although this would be detrimental for what she was trying to do to blend in ) or to emulate one of the earlier dr characters ( maizono perhaps ?? )
toujo - straight up the character i can see dyeing their hair THE LEAST . if she has green hair she was born with it .
amami - could see him dyeing his hair green for fun . believable.
momota - at first i thought no but i think momota totally would be the type to dye his hair a fun colour to make himself seem cooler .
saihara - tricky one weirdly . i think if he WERE going to dye his hair any colour it would be inconspicuous , so the dark blue works well in that circumstance .i could believe he dyed his hair.
ok so in short . some characters have their zany and unnatural hair colours as children ( kirigiri and pekoyama ) and i believe it's ooc for some characters to be bothered with dyeing their hair ( toujo ). HOWEVER for v3 we can maybe write off the zanier hair colours as them being fictional characters and their design being chosen for them by the producers if you go with the idea that they're all on a tv show . akamatsu reinforces this , bc whilst it's exceptionally uncommon for japanese people to be born with blonde hair, we see that she has blonde hair as a baby .
i put way too much thought into this . but it WAS fun. long answer short even though i could believably see all of those characters dyeing their hair their wacky colours , i believe it's probably anime logic where they just are born with them .

I’m not surprised by the most popular groups (though as a l/n fan it does feel discouraging sometimes asdfghjl). But do you know the most popular characters for each unit and maybe why they are the most popular 🧐
thanks to elongated muskrat I can’t check any of the old stats accounts so this is from memory.
I believe the most popular character in Leo/need is Saki. I think part of it is the gyaru/genki girl personality, like she’s very fun and that usually appeals to a lot of people. Also she’s very popular with people who are disabled/chronically ill for obvious reasons. And like all the Tenma sibs (Incl Toya) are pretty popular, and specifically Tsukasa so I think she gets a bit of a boost from that.
More More Jump I actually am not sure. All I know is they used to consistently show up at the bottom on title stats alongside MEIKO and Honami. I think Shizuku was usually highest (this is for JP). Tbh from observation I’d say she’s probably the most popular MMJ girl in EN fandom as well. I think her looks might play a part in it I can’t lie but her voice and character arc probably help as well.
I think the most popular from VBS is Toya but again stats showed that he, Akito and Kohane are all pretty popular on JP and consistently showed up pretty close to each other (An is the least popular from VBS by a noticeable margin rip An 6ever in our hearts). Again like I said all the Tenma sibs are popular but I think his voice (on top of the fact that I’m fairly certain that itoken is one of the bigger names among the cast) and his “appears cool but is actually very soft” character archetype make him quite popular.
Tsukasa is the most popular character in the game no question on both sides of the fandom. He’s got a lot of appeal so like it’s totally understandable: his arc in the main story is a pretty solid “starts out as a jerk ends up being a nice person” kinda arc, he’s also the onii-chan character and the comic relief character. Seriously I think a large part of it is just because the game is very aware of the fact that he’s their weirdguy and treat him as such (it’s why i post so many facts about him because there’s so much stupid trivia dropped about him compared to everyone else; he runs on rule of funny 50% of the time).
N25 I think is the main one with clear different favourites between EN and JP. Mizuki is the most popular one on EN. Definitely connected to their trans swag bc a lot of fans connect to that (prsk has a largely queer fanbase on EN side). Also they’re pretty energetic and fun but also depressed and have a compelling backstory that again a lot of people can relate to. They’re very popular on JP as well just not the most popular.
For JP the most popular Niigo girl is Kanade. She’s like up there with Tsukasa on JP for most popular character. I think the appeal comes from her kindness and determination to save people despite her own trauma and she’s quite cute in an unconventional way (hikikomori) as well. I think there’s some boost from tomoriru as well being another bigger name for the cast. She voices for Revstar and voiced for Love Live Nijigasaki when the game launched, as well as some anime, and has a good following so that might be a contributing factor in her popularity.
