We are so close to 1 year, and I felt a little bit of a drabble lurking around in my mind.
After the war, a long, bloody and terrible affair, but ultimately won by the heroes, no one is the same. Least of all, Izuku Midoriya.
His teachers, his mother, his friends and classmates all take notice. Ochako notices. He is suddenly especially distant from her nowadays.
He feels bad, but there are many things he feels bad about these days. Ochako did nothing wrong, in fact, she had done everything right.
She had saved Himiko Toga, and was now instrumental in advocating for and carrying out her rehabilitation. Ochako had promised eternity for Himiko, and to the best of Izukus knowledge, Toga was accepting and open to her.
And that was great. Really. He was happy, happy they were spending time together, making so much progress. But therein lies the problem.
In spending so much time together, Izuku found it heart wrenching to be around the blonde girl, he would have a terrible pit in his stomach, if only for one thought that was pervasive in his mind. It wouldn't go away no matter how hard he tried to earnestly congratulate Toga and Ochako on their budding friendship and healing. It wouldn't go away no matter how supportive he tried to be.
Whenever he looked at Toga, he remembered that day, and that detour that had taken him to the wrong battlefield... to a fight that wasnt his... And even though it was like a poison slowly tainting his own recovery, his friendships, his heroism that said everyone deserves to be saved...
He sometimes felt like he wanted to scream, scream like he had when his world had come crashing down, when victory had lost all meaning.
He couldn't shake the frankly selfish and unheroic thought that, if Himiko Toga hadn't interfered that day...hadn't pulled him away...
Kacchan would have still been alive.

Bkdk plot bunnies pt 7
- A quirk turns Katsuki into a cat
- Like a genuine cat, not actually conscious inside but can’t communicate type of deal, just a beautiful fluffy blonde cat
- And Katsuki’s cat brain loves Izuku, won’t let anyone pick him up but Deku (and All Might on occasion)
- He lets his friends touch him and tolerates the rest of his classmates, but to anyone else he is very aggressive
- Katsuki follows Deku around, rubs all over the boy and forces his way into Izuku’s room at night to sleep
- Katsuki as a cat is all instinct, he can’t feel embarrassed about anything so he does whatever he wants
- Class 2-A think this is the cutest thing ever
- Aizawa reluctantly lets the cat stay in class since Katsuki is visibly distressed when he can’t see Deku after a few hours
- So cat Katsuki spends the day sleeping through class in Izuku’s lap
- Izuku is so so happy the cat loves him and practically lives on top of him, but he can’t help but feel bitter toward the fact that once Katsuki is back to normal he won’t be affectionate to Deku
- Izuku knows this means Bakugou loves him, although he believes Katsuki’s love is purely platonic, so Deku’s kinda sad
- He does however feel superior to everyone else because the cat will let Izuku be the only one allowed to pick him up and cuddle him
- Izuku doesn’t appreciate however the dead birds and lizards cat Katsuki keeps bringing to his room
- A week later Izuku is lounging in the common room with Katsuki on his lap purring loudly when there’s a puff of smoke as Katsuki turns back to human, naked and still on Izuku’s lap
- “K-K-Kacchan!!” Izuku is startled and flustered by the sudden transformation and the state of undress of the man sitting on his lap
- Katsuki turns beet red as he remembers everything he did as a cat and gives out a garbled scream before jumping out of Deku’s lap, grabbing the blanket beside him and bolting to his room
- Later Izuku goes to Katsuki’s room to talk about everything but Katsuki is still very much embarrassed so he’s stonewalling Deku
- Finally Izuku corners Katsuki one day and forces him to listen
- Izuku says everything is all right, and that he didn’t misunderstand anything, that he knows Katsuki only cares for him as a friend
- Katsuki is suddenly mad, yelling at Izuku about “always assuming shit about how I feel”
- Deku is perplexed, because what does that mean?
- Katsuki refusing to be a coward says
- “So what if I do feel that way about you?! It’s not like it matters anyway.” He blurts out but immediately regrets it
- Izuku’s eyes widen and he beams “K-Kacchan! Do you….do you really like me that way?”
- Katsuki doesn’t deny it, staying silent, too flustered to respond, but Izuku knows that means the blond does like him
- “Me too, Kacchan, of course I like you too.” Izuku says as Katsuki feels progressively more discouraged as the silence stretches
- Bakugou recovers quickly, “good because I’m going to kiss you now.”
- Izuku happily receives the kiss

jump then fall by nikkiRA
Summary: During a storm, Class 3-A end up playing a version of the newlywed game, except Deku and Katsuki get roped into playing, even though they're not dating.
They're really good at it.
“It’s cute that you know so much about each other,” Ashido says. Bakugou curls his lip; he locks eyes with Deku, and he feels his cheeks heat up at the happy smile he gives him.

can this be a real thing can it by nikkiRA
Summary: His friends are all laughing when Katsuki throws himself down beside them and says, “Why the fuck do people think I’m dating Deku?”
This time last year it would probably be hard to get an answer, with no one (except possibly Kirishima) willing to be the one to poke Katsuki’s anger. Now they all burst into laughter, and Mina says, “Have you seen you and Deku?”

Summary: "I get 'em too."
Izuku looks at him, but Katsuki is faced away. "About what?"
Katsuki shrugs. "Take your fucking pick. Got a lot of options." And isn't that just damn depressing. "Hey," Katsuki continues, and his voice has the forced neutrality he always gets when he cares too much and he's pretending not to. "You can stay here tonight, if you want."

Summary: Katsuki smirks and says, "Why d’you like my summer uniform better?"
And here's the thing— Izuku could come up with an acceptable reason, except at that moment Katsuki crosses his arms, and even in the school uniform Izuku can see the outline of his muscles, his incredibly big, incredibly strong muscles. And Izuku's very dumb, very gay brain latches onto them, and Izuku's very dumb, very loud mouth opens and says, “Arms."

Summary: Izuku takes a breath. "When I thought that you were dead, I thought of all the things I hadn't told you, and now it's like I have a second chance. I don't want to keep secrets from you anymore.
Katsuki swallows. His mouth is very dry. “What secrets have you been keeping?"
the truth comes out.

Research Purposes by nikkiRA
Summary: The curiosity gets to be too much for him. There were too many unknown variables. When did he start needing glasses? Izuku had been watching and taking notes on Katsuki since he first learned how to write. He needed to know for research purposes. The fact that they made Izuku horny as hell was just an unfortunate side effect.

Summary: *spoilers for chapter 362*
The first thing Katsuki becomes aware of is the fact that he’s not dead. Or at least, he’s assuming he’s not dead, because he’s hoping being dead isn’t going to hurt this fucking much. It feels like Shigaraki had turned him into dust and some stubborn idiot had gathered up all the pieces and super glued them back together.
There’s a sniffle near him, and Katsuki opens his eyes to see the stubborn idiot in question.

Summary: "Bastard hit me with his quirk," his Kacchan says. "It's supposed to swap you with a version of your past self, except Aizawa erased it right in the middle, which somehow meant that this shithead got pulled through, but I didn't get sent back."
"Who're you calling a shithead?” Sixteen year old Kacchan bursts out. Kacchan smacks him on the head.
"You, shithead! Pay attention!"

“That kid of ours is no fan of rain…”
Manga with Me: MHA Pocket Theory Pt 2/2
What the Coming Rain Will Bring to the Shigaraki Showdown
⚠️ Spoiler warning through MHA 362 + Vigilantes 64 (though this covered in the anime to an extent). Will include predictions for upcoming MHA chapters.
Tumblr media
Fully aware the new chapter is out but I stayed up until 6A making these predictions so you will receive them untainted by foresight because I always think I'm right even though based on leaks I may be proven categorically incorrect. I maintain 363 won't give us full insight into the Shiggy show down and if you want to understand the importance of the coming rain or the allegory of Deku's name and it's impact on the story (or need a distraction from this impending chapter, read this)
Pretty sure 363 will boomerang back over to Dabi vs Shoto but not before giving us a glimpse of where we left off. I'm going to start by saying that I do not think Bakugo is dead.. at least not yet. If Horikoshi's end game is to use Bakugo's death as an impetus for Deku's hero origin story, I feel like that wouldn't be very in line with Deku becoming, in his mind, a great hero. His failure to save Kacchan would be absolutely devastating and, considering they have been shown to be two halves of the same hero vis a vis All Might, I just don't know that he could overcome that loss and truly espouse Bakugo's Win to Save mentality.
That is, unless Bakugo becomes a vestige for Deku and lives on that way. Which would be the impetus for rounding out Deku's heroic tendencies and provide the catalyst for the person who will forever guide his steps as a hero like Shimura for All might and Oboro for Aizawa. Plus, sometimes, just sometimes, I feel like we get some Bakugo POV instead of Deku's like they're telling a story and fighting for their turn to talk.
Tumblr media
This is Bakugo's POV, no one else and I can't help but assume he's laughing as he recalls this exchange which kind of gives strong vestigial vibes.
However, if this is indeed end game, I have two theories for how it will play out based on me thinking way too much at 4AM about shapes and lines on paper.
To the Rescue Albeit Too Late
Deku will arrive and, upon assessing the situation and realizing Bakugo is gravely injured will fly into a rage. This will result in a prolonged and hard won battle against Shigaraki fraught with cruel taunts which will ultimately test Deku's resolve to save Tenko when he knows AFO!Shigaraki injured his Kacchan. We've seen the uptick in strength and propensity to unlock new quirks/moves when Bakugo's safety (or sometimes even just his honor..) is on the line. Upon successfully defeating AFO!Shigaraki and potentially liberating Tenko, he'll reunite with Bakugo under the falling rain (this part is important) and they'll inevitably have a conversation that establishes them as equals and/or confront the complexity of their relationship as Bakugo succumbs to his injuries.
Dead on Arrival
Bakugo's status is ambiguous to the reader BUT Deku is unable to confirm his status as the situation on the battlefield is too dire when he arrives. Given the harm that has visibly come to Bakugo, Deku fights through an onslaught of emotions and rain (still important) to take AFO!Shigaraki down with Bakugo's audible support and encouragement only to find that Bakugo has, in fact, been dead all along similar to Oboro cheering on Aizawa through a broken radio (it was all in his head).
Tumblr media
We've already seen Bakugo interacting with vestige! All Might so there's a possibility that this slight of the mind will be as the line between Deku's using his quirks and the vestiges that have come to manifest above his shoulder to advise and support him blurs. Since the final meta quirk has yet to manifest, we only know the following:
Tumblr media
No, it is not and would not be romantic, Shimura. This is why you didn't give OFA to Gran Torino because that would have been a cruel burden to pass on to someone you love. Horikoshi, don't get any ideas.
It's meant to be used as a last resort,
It can't be used the usual way as the second OFA holder once did,
The second user is the one who stated that Deku needed people who matched his resolve and could keep pace to bolster him conveniently just as Bakugo found him on the streets. Also, the fact that the second OFA holder looks hauntingly like Bakugo but that's just me.... I wonder if Deku's emotional connection to Bakugo will be the key to unlocking OFA completely only for them to never get that all out fight Bakugo always wanted.
Tumblr media
On the one hand, pun intended, either scenario would be a horrible loss for Aizawa to suffer again and, on another, this would be a careless loss caused by All Might sending Bakugo into battle with Deku knowing AFO's propensity to use those you hold dear and twist them against you or into your weakness (literally fostering a relentless hatred for All Might within his mentor's only living relative).
Why Bakugo Can't Be Dead Yet
Tumblr media
As covered here, the coming rain has historically brought vulnerability and a reckoning of sorts between Bakugo and Deku. Having received the threat of it in 362, I say we have to assume that either Bakugo still lives or Deku will suffer that reckoning with a vestige of Bakugo, unknowingly or not. Ultimately, I believe that this bout of rain brings Deku's answer to Bakugo's previous reconciliation. While the story, in my opinion, has potential romantic undertones between the two (especially from what we saw from Deku's face off with Toga and his ability to somewhat understand her nature... I wonder why), istg if we get a Destiel type confession just for Bakugo to die I will rampage.
Tumblr media
I doubt Deku has a crush on All Might but he'll be damned if he brings Kacchan into this.
As a fan, I want Bakugo to live. While it would be ideal for Deku's final quirk to have some semblance of resurrection or something, that would be such a stupidly simple and ending and resolution to this death which would also be so very unsatisfying. As such, if Bakugo is meant to survive, then he simply hasn't and won't die at all.
I wouldn't; however, be surprised if this is in fact not a misstep on All Might's part and in fact a rational deception to either protect Bakugo or spurn Deku into action. How cruel to use Bakugo like a pawn but it feels like All Might's largely been doing that to Deku this whole time so it lends itself to his new role locked behind closed doors and calling the shots. We've seen the Hero Commission isn't above such underhandedness, is this All Might's resignation to the fact that, sometimes as heroes, you have to be a little unheroic?
Tumblr media
Okay, racing to read 363 before I bust a blood vessel. What are your thoughts on my theories? Have I already been proven incorrect?

We will wait and wait in that space and part 2 of tht series keeps me up at night well i havent read both of them but i read the summaries and the end of part 2 and started crying
you write angst so well omgg
ive read some of ur fics and posts and u seem like a really cool person!!! What do you think is your saddest fic? I'm a sucker for angst. Im reading ur bkdk fics and im like this hits so hard omg
also new mha chapter, if this isnt too much i just wondering what r ur thoughts on it? I saw a recent post from u abt it so im assuming u alr read it or something. Sorry if this is alot!
hahahha oh my gosh thank you! i don't know how i gave off the impression i was cool at all because i am not
hmmm in terms of the saddest one? I'd say its we will wait and wait in that space, hands down. There's such a certain helplessness and hopelessness in loving someone so much, trying to save them over and over and over again, and knowing that the only way they live is if you're not part of their life. for Izuku, who desperately wants to save people, who got his power because he wanted to save Katsuki - urgh. The devastation. If any of them are worth a read for angst specifically, its that one.
ooooffff thank you for asking about the new mha chapter. its a really, really hard question to answer. there's a very melancholic vibe in the classroom, it seems. i feel for izuku. the amount of loss he's suffering through is immense. he failed to save the one person that he promised himself he's try to reach. he lost his quirk, his dream, broke his body to save everyone around him. he saw his heroes, his idols, his friends die and break and mutilate themselves and felt responsible for all of it. he is sixteen years old and the world as he knows it has changed. forever. how can that boy possibly be in a place where he can return to any semblance of normal?
i hope we have a chance to explore his grief. i hope there is a deku vs kacchan part 3, where katsuki beats izuku's 'i'm fine' out of him. i hope he cries and breaks down and tells him just how tired he is of pretending to be strong for everybody else. i hope they finally talk. that izuku acknowledges just how sincerely and completely katsuki admires him and cares for him. i hope that they can hold each other up, support each other. i hope that he can start to forgive himself. i hope, you know?
on that note, i desperately desperately hope that the 'mysterious' figure in the end is Tenko. listen, i've thought a lot about shigaraki's 'death' in the past week and a half. and, as always, i stand with the fact that horikoshi is an excellent writer and whichever way he decides to end this series and his characters is the right way. he has never been careless in the past ten years with these stories, and i dont have a single doubt he'll start now.
i've spent years talking about how shigaraki is by far my favorite antagonist in any anime ever, and that the LoV are, in every sense of the word, the greatest villain team of all time. horikoshi wrote them with as much love and sincerity as he did the heroes. if the choice to kill tomura is deliberate because it hits so hard, then i dont think it was the wrong choice. he stayed a villain until the very end, and we still loved him. we still sympathized with him. he will still haunt the narrative forever. he still was a hero to the villains. he still gave the disenfranchised hope. he still changed the world.
if he's dead, i need him to be grieved. by toga. by touya. by spinner. by izuku. i need him never to fade.
BUT. but. if he lives. if what disappeared was simply his 'vestige' of Decay and his physical body still exists somewhere, Quirkless. If he has a chance to live as Tenko Shimura. free from All for One. From the house that bound him. from the name Shigaraki itself..
i. i can't imagine a more powerful narrative than to give the villains a chance to live. to be cared for. to be loved. to see the world around them and know that it is with their own hands that they changed it. for people like them. for the future. if this is a story about hope, then that is what hope looks like to me.

Hello guys I going to be using this blog to publish my fanfiction, please don't be shy to present any criticism so I can imorove Note: Hello everyone this is my first story so enjoy
Tumblr media
All Might: I think you should be a little reasonable with your dreams young man, it is okay to dream but you should be more reasonable about it. To answere your question I think that a quirkless person cannot be a hero.
All izuku could do was hear it all in silence as his idol the No 1 hero All Might shattered his dreams. After giving his opinion all might left the roof jumping away (all might doesn't turn into his deflated version in this story)
Why, why does it have to be like this, what did I even do to deserve this did I really dream to high was it all wrong in that moment all Izuku saw was face of his mother the day before she died
Flashback
It was a day like any other, Izuku had just received his most recent beating from bakugo and had just entered his apartment, he didn't bother to look if anyone was home during this time of the day his mother was usually patrolling the streets of mustafu as the the hero "Magnetic" while his sister would still be at UA she had a habit of staying after school with her friends.
Izuku immediately went to his room, and took off his shirt and started to look for a first aid kit, bakugo had burned his shoulder pretty bad it really, hindered his movement as every time he tried to move his arm, he'd get a striking sensation of pain, izuku turned around to check if the first aid kit was on his study desk, but what he saw was was a pair of emerald green eyes staring at him from the gap between the door, izuku froze in place, his face had a expression of horror on it and then whoever it was that was staring at izuku went away, there heavy footsteps echoed in the entire apartment and then the sound of the door slamming came, izuku ran out of his room in hopes to find his sister there, if his sister was the one that saw him the situation would be some what salvageable, but he found no one there.
But izuku got his answere, he found out who saw him, as his mother was found hanging from the ceiling of her room the next day.
Izuku knew why she did it, it wouldn't take a genius to figure it out, she saw his injuries yesterday, she blamed herself from them, but for those who didn't know of the encounter yesterday it was a mystery "hero commits suicide!" It was all over news, part of him wanted to tell someone about it, specially his sister but izuku as bakugo had always said was a coward.
Flashback of Present day ( before izuku met all might)
Kacchan: you want a quirk nerd, take my advice take a swan dive off the roof and pray for a quirk I your next life.
Present
Yeah Kacchan was right maybe the best thing to do is to just take a swan dive and hope for a quirk in my next life after all the fact that all efforts of my mum goes unnoticed, unappreciate is cause of me, I can't hold her back for the rest of my miserable life. That's what Izuku thought then before he could rethink his decision he ran towards the edge off the roof and jumped.
For a moment it was like the whole world was in slow-motion, izuku closed his eyes waiting for the moment he dies but it never came.
Wait a minute I should be dead, why am I not That's when reality hit izuku he never touched the ground someone saved him. Izuku opened his eyes to see him on the same rooftop again but he wasn't on the ground he was in arms of someone (bridle style), izuku looked at his savior he had blonde hair, golden eyes he was wearing a lightning yellow hacket.
Izuku: th-thank you for saving my life
?????: your thankful, mostly people who are saved from suicide are angry(he said in a calm and soft voice)
Izuku: i thought that was the appropriate thing to say
?????: and it was but what, but judging from what you just said I can safely assume that you like many others is not happy that your life didn't end am I right? I'm interested to know is why did you want to kill yourself.
Izuku: one, yes I'm not happy and two it's the right thing to do
?????: "right thing to do" ?
Izuku: yeah it's only right all I've done my entire life is to make other's life harder it's going to be much better with me gone
?????: hmm that's not right, what did you do make there lives so much harder?
Izuku: it's just, it's cause i-
Izuku stayed silent not wanting to tell his story to a complete stranger.
?????: and I'm still waiting for you answer
Izuku: IM QUIRKLESS ALRIGHT!!!! There's your answere now go do whatever you were going to do originally
?????: honestly when are you going to get on the topic huh?
Izuku: I just told you didn't i, I'm quirkless
?????: that's not a reason to kill your self broccoli head
Izuku: what do you mean when you say that being quirkless is no reason to kill yourself huh? If you want me to say it I'll say it okay, it's because of me my dad left and it's cause of me my mother is dead, WHAT MORE REASON DO I NEED!
?????: I'm sorry your mother is what?
Izuku: nothing! (Trying to cover up his previous outburst)
Zenitsu stood in silence thinking of his next move.
Izuku: oh no.
?????: DO(karte chop to the head) YOU THINK(karate chop to the head) THAT'SWHAT YOUR MOTHER(karate chop to the head)  WANT?!(karate chop to the head) looks it's none of my business what happened between you and your mum, but here's the thing I can tell whatever it was, it wasn't your fault! And I'm sure she likes her son alive than dead.
Izuku's eyes widened, realizing that this man that this stranger was saying the correct thing, his mother would have never want him to die like this.
Izuku: ouch! I'm really sorry okay, I admit I might not have thought this through.
?????: you bet you didn't, if I wasn't there you would have surely died!
?????: just so I know what even is your name?
Izuku: Izuku Midoriya
?????: Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu: you know what I'll walk you home so that you don't try anything on your way, you got somewhere to go right, siblings? a relative maybe?
Izuku:  yeah my sisters , she'll kill me if she found out about this!
Zenitsu: oh yeah, well thats what you deserve.
Zenitsu: you know what tell me all that led you to this moment, I want to know your story and if I like I might just not tell your sister, by the way is she hot ?(Zenitsu said curious about the boy he just met, also trying lightenup the mood).

Do you have queerplatonic fic recs? 👉👈
I actually don't read a lot of fics with (explicit) queerplatonic relationships! That may seem surprising but I'm specific about what I read, what relationships/dynamics are like, just based on my personal preferences. (Not to say there aren't wonderful fics out there, just not always what I'm looking for!)
Fics with explicit qprs:
Echoes in a Silent Room
The night after one of Aizawa Shouta's student is kidnapped is rough.
It is a good thing he has the best people he could possibly hope for to help him get through it.
(Queerplatonic Erasermic, a rare delight.)
Conventional Merch
Izuku and all of his friends are gearing up for HeroCon this year. Shenanigans ensue.
(Queerplatonic Tododeku.)
Fics that may be read as queerplatonic, but are not explicitly:
take care
There are words to say stay safe, I’ll miss you, I love you, but Kacchan has always preferred to leave things unspoken. Izuku isn’t much with languages, but he thinks he’s figured out this one.
---
“Emotional constipation manifested as over-the-top housewifery?” Mina asks. Before Izuku can say that is not what he meant at all, she nods. “Yeah, I can see it.”
(Romantic/platonic Bakudeku.)
quintet
Five things Jirou taught Momo.
(Romantic/platonic Momojirou.)
White Mist, Black Clouds
That one where Shouta, Oboro, and Hizashi are platonic soulmates, but things still manage to go wrong.
(Platonic Erasermicloud.)
You can also assume my fics involve aromantic/asexual characters and queerplatonic relationships, (or what people might describe as such), but it's mostly unstated. Just there, always welcome to be read through that lens, as it was written that way.
a glimpse of tomorrow (looking back)
Ten years down the line, Bakugou and Midoriya are invited to a time capsule ceremony at their middle school to read letters from their past selves, and look back on their past and how it shaped their future. For anyone else, it would have been a celebration.
For the two of them, it's an opportunity.
A look into Bakugou and Midoriya's past—through a future neither of them imagined—as pro heroes, agency partners, and friends.
(Queerplatonic Bakudeku.)
deprive (a hunger games au)
i. draw and quarter: Shouta's name is drawn for the Hunger Games, alongside Shirakumo Oboro. No one from their district has ever won.
ii. white sails: Izuku volunteers to take the place of a little girl in the Hunger Games. District Twelve hasn't had a victor in thirteen years—but Izuku and Katsuki are ready to change that.
(Queerplatonic Erasercloud, Bakudeku.)
Alone
“I’m here to ask you to come back,” Captain Yagi says. “Kaiju attacks have been increasing. We have pilots, but we need more. And you were one of the best.”
“No,” Shouta says.
“I know—” Yagi starts, and Shouta cuts him off, shaking his head.
“I’m fine here. I can’t go back.”
(Queerplatonic Erasermicloud, Erasermic.)
dead on arrival
Aizawa discovers a few facts: that the best friend he thought was dead still lives, that Shirakumo Oboro is now a villain, and that he himself is willing to betray those he holds dear in the hopes of getting Oboro back.
(Queerplatonic Erasermicloud.)
hide your face, bury your grief
Shouta loses his soulmark.
Thirteen years later, he finds a new one in the same place.
(Queerplatonic Erasermicloud.)

BnHA Chapter 307: The One With Shindou
Previously on BnHA: Endeavor and Hawks (and Jeanist too, although he didn’t really do anything, but BY GOD, WHAT IS UP WITH HIS NECK) held a press conference and were all, “everything you’ve heard is true, so we would just like to say, from the bottom of our hearts... our bad.” U.A. opened its doors to the public as an evacuation shelter. Deku and All Might told basically EVERYBODY about OFA, which is absolutely wild, and yet somehow we hardly paid any attention to this at all. Mostly because the chapter ended with Deku being all “I WALK A LONELY ROAD, THE ONLY ONE THAT I HAVE EVER KNOWN” and peacing out of U.A. to embark on a solo journey of angst. So this is either gonna be the best or the worst thing that ever happened to this series, so TIME TO FIND OUT WHICH IT IS.
Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “so who do you guys want to see next? Deku? Bakugou?? Well how about SHINDOU?” Shindou is all “hi :) I’m Shindou :) :) remember me :) :) :)?” Horikoshi is all “I’m so sorry for depriving you guys of Shindou for so fucking long, how about an ENTIRE CHAPTER ALL OF HIM” and then he REALLY FUCKING DOES IT because, I don’t know?? Did we make him mad?? Am I being punished for something I did in a past life?? It really is, honest to god, seventeen whole goddamn pages of Shindou, punctuated by a few pages of Muscular, and topped off with one (1) whole appearance by Deku at THE VERY END. And we don’t even get to see his face. I am beside myself lmao I’m sorry you guys, you can skip this recap if you want. Or just skip straight to the end, because movie 3 promo.
“long time no see” now what could this mean?? can’t think of too many characters this phrase would apply to right now. although I can think of one big one, and I know that fandom has been trying to manifest his deadbeat ass to finally show itself for years now. could it finally be that time? if Hisashi shows up and debunks DFO a big chunk of the fandom is probably going to riot lol
(ETA: why oh why did I get my hopes up like that lmao. I’m pretty sure Hisashi doesn’t actually exist and Deku was either immaculately conceived, or the stork really did bring Inko a lil green baby from the cabbage patch.)
anyway, so the chapter is opening on this random scene of CRIME and DISARRAY
Tumblr media
was this all done by that big villain from the previous chapter? utility poles knocked down, random holes in the sides of buildings, and it looks like this one car pulled over in a hurry and the driver just hopped out and ran
who are these people talking
Tumblr media
OH NO, OH GOD
Tumblr media
I am immediately struck by the urge to push Shindou off of this ledge. is that mean? probably that is mean, but also fuck this guy lmao. every year you cheat someone out of their well-deserved spot in the popularity poll, and every year I want to punch you in your stupid face for it
bah. and how are you doing, Tatami. love that hero name even if you do have arguably the dumbest superpower in the entire series
listen, though. here I am shitting on these Ketsubutsu kids for no good reason, and I’m sorry about that, and truthfully it’s mostly because I just want to see Deku and/or Kacchan and so it’s hard to give a fuck about anything else right now. BUT, I will immediately cease and desist ALL of my complaining if this means we also get to see my best girl Ms. Joke, omg. Horikoshi please
sdlkfjlskalk
Tumblr media
FUCK YOU SHINDOU OMG. I’M SORRY GUYS I CAN’T HELP IT, EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM IS SO EMINENTLY PUNCHABLE AND DETESTIBLE. IT’S LIKE SOMEONE COMBINED WESLEY CRUSHER WITH JEAN RALPHIO
but LSKJFLEK at this random reminder that Bakugou refused to shake his fucking hand. like, that’s his “fun fact” apparently lol. it’s what he deserves
also living for this “cringe” here, too. fuck you Shindou. I am so, so sorry to any Shindou fans out there you guys because I’m just going to be like this the entire time he’s here. the hate is flowing through me
how has it been three whole pages and I still have to look at his stupid face
Tumblr media
anyway so it seems like the kids are having to pick up the slack for Old Man Samurai and all those other assholes who retired. I’m guessing the U.A. kids will be seeing a lot more action as well
but in the meantime let’s hope no villains attack here all of a sudden, because all Tatami can do is make herself shorter while Shindou creates an earthquake to bring the entire building down around them dflkjslk
these guys don’t particularly want to go with them and I can’t say I blame them
Tumblr media
so now Shindou is saying that yeah, they can probably handle the looters and such by themselves, but it’s a different story when it comes to the Noumu and the escaped Tartarus prisoners. Shindou how dare you make a reasonable point that I can’t immediately argue with
he says that one of the escapees was sighted in the area, so that’s why they’re trying to evacuate everyone
and the guy disagrees and says he doesn’t trust the heroes and thinks they’re pompous
fdskljk. fucking...
Tumblr media
ME: Horikoshi can we please stop and get Deku HORIKOSHI: we have Deku at home THE DEKU AT HOME:
Horikoshi. please. we get it, the civilians don’t trust the heroes anymore. I UNDERSTAND. I COMPREHEND THIS. so unless there is some other point to this scene I respectfully ask that you hurry things along because omg
did Tatami always have this habit of speaking in meme language and such? I thought that was Camie’s thing but hey
Tumblr media Tumblr media
listen, I’m here for anyone who’s willing to drag this man down into the depths of the earth. I would just also rather not spend the entire fucking chapter on this oh my god. Horikoshi do you have any more of those chapters where things happen in them?? those are good, I like those
YESSSSSS FINALLY
Tumblr media
so whoever’s on the other end of the call (ETA: it’s that rock-looking guy who can harden anything that he touches. why does BnHA have so many hardening powers) is telling them to run because there’s apparently a villain heading right for them, oh my
WHO IS HE
Tumblr media
depending on who it is I can’t promise I won’t be rooting for them over you, buddy
ohhhhhh shit
Tumblr media
huh. well that’s... hmm... but on the other hand...
okay lol no, I know it’s bad. Muscular fucking LOVES murdering kids. not even Shindou deserves that. I’m sure he has a family that loves him and stuff. and Tatami seems like a sweet girl. they don’t deserve to be murdered
Tumblr media
that is the question isn’t it? are we really going to spend the entire chapter with Limbs-Retracting-Girl and her boyfriend, Joseph Gordon-Levitt from (500) Days of Summer??
YES OMG
Tumblr media
YES PLEASE CALL YOUR SENSEI. my god do you know what I would give to see Ms. Joke take down an S-class villain??
(ETA: all I’ll say is that we were robbed here, you guys.)
now Tatami is running away while Shindou stays behind omg
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Horikoshi I know I said I hate the guy, and I do, but my god. seems I don’t hate him half as much as you do you. been nice knowing you Shindou my man
are you serious Tatami really ran all the way back up here to try and evacuate these guys one more time
Tumblr media
SHE’S SUCH A GOOD PERSON omg if you assholes don’t listen to her you deserve to get murdered
BRO
Tumblr media
HORIKOSHI DID YOU REALLY FUCKING DO IT I CAN’T BELIEVE IT
LOL OKAY NO, SO FAR HE’S ONLY MESSED UP HIS FACE
Tumblr media
WHAT A SHAME WHAT A TRAGEDY. THE WORLD MOURNS
okay but seriously, now he has to be dead
Tumblr media
r.i.p. Shindou. he died doing what he loved, talking a lot and being utterly useless
then again, damn Shindou are you really gonna come out here and be a badass?? gonna make me eat my words there kiddo?
Tumblr media
I have absolutely no idea if I should expect this to work or not. all I know is that this is page 14, and so it would seem we really are going to spend the entire fucking chapter on fucking Shindou. this beautiful chapter had so much potential, Horikoshi. and now look at it. I hope you’re happy
nope it didn’t fucking work at all lmao
Tumblr media
IT’S JUST LIKE I SAID. r.i.p. you pretentious handsome lump
OHHHHHH SNAP
Tumblr media
DEKU YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO LOL. anyway but it’s good to see you!! it’s good to see ANYONE other than these guys sob but especially you
FINALLY SOMETHING COOL OMG
Tumblr media
somehow Horikoshi actually made the bunny mask look badass?? I don’t think this is sustainable, but I am here for it while it lasts
Shindou should by all rights be nothing but A HANDSOME PASTE at this point lol but WHATEVER. it’s BnHA; getting smashed into walls and cliffs has more or less the same consequences as being set on fire. slap a band-aid on it and you’re good to go
we are REALLY ENDING IT HERE huh
Tumblr media
well. and that’s it. I just did not care about any of that lmao. a rare dud of a chapter. well, but we’ve had something like ten in a row that ranged from “pretty good” to “amazing”, so I guess that’s fair
anyway I feel like I owe you guys something other than endless bitching and moaning, so! BONUS:
Tumblr media
now this is more like it
first of all, I’m absolutely living for this promo’s “YEET THE CHILDREN OUT OF A HELICOPTER” vibes. FUCK YEAH WE’RE HEROES BITCH
is Deku wearing a jetpack/parachute?? let’s hope he is because I’m assuming he doesn’t have Float yet, so if that’s not a jetpack then it is a LONG WAY DOWN kiddo
these maniacs actually got Deku to wear something other than his red shoes holy fuck. I’m speechless. are we sure that’s not an imposter??
Shouto has the funniest falling position I’ve ever seen. I’m assuming his left arm is not in fact tucked under his leg like it appeared to be at first glance?? like, wtf is the outline of your body right now Shouto
Tumblr media
this is what I think it is after careful analysis, but at first I thought this kid had some hidden contortionist abilities
and then there’s this guy
Tumblr media
I MISSED YOU YOU BIG GOON. loving the new gauntlets!! and he’s changed up his impractical metal neck thingy into arm thingies! but most importantly, ARE THESE WHAT I THINK THEY ARE
Tumblr media
ARE THOSE WEENIES. KACCHAN. KACCHAN HAVE YOU GONE NATIVE OMFG
and meanwhile, look who’s with them! Endeavor makes perfect sense of course, but Hawks is a very welcome surprise. does this mean we can expect to see Tokoyami too? because I would fucking love that
lastly, so this confirms the whole “world heroes” thing! which we all pretty much guessed anyway lol. I wonder if this movie will take place in another country (fingers crossed). the city in the background doesn’t look particularly familiar, but this image probably wasn’t meant to be analyzed in that way lol. anyways, looking forward to this so much, PLEASE GIVE US A TRAILER SOON omg

I was listening to this sad japanese song and it made me think of a BNHA ending where Kacchan and Deku separated at the end.
———————
Izuku ends up quirkless and All Might (assuming he's not dead) invites him to go to America to have an extensive training (presumably his skills for using/creating support items) under David Shield to continue being a hero.
Izuku says yes and breaks the news to Class A. The rest of his friends are sad and some said that they don't want him to go. Still, they fully understand and supports him. Izuku felt guilty and sad too because he don't want to leave them too, but more importantly, he doesn't want to leave Kacchan, who just stayed silent during the time Izuku announced his decision.
Their relationship had been a lot better after they defeated AFO. They can even say they are now friends and with this, Katsuki had become a lot more confident with their friendship. Actually, the main reason he was silent during the announcement is because he was gonna ask Izuku to become hero partners with him. Quirk or not, Katsuki believes that Deku is an amazing hero through and through.
Apparently that wasn't enough for Deku, and Katsuki understands why. That's why even if all of his fiber are telling him to yell at Izuku and ask him to stay by his side, he doesn't. Because Katsuki wants Izuku to be happy, and if this is what Deku really wants, then he'd gladly let him go.
Katsuki, not wanting Deku to be sad and guilty (cos ofc that fucking nerd is guilty, that's just how selfless he is), immediately went to the nerd and told him that he'd still surpass him even if he goes to America, and that he better not cry when Katsuki becomes the number one hero in Japan.
Katsuki talking to him and saying those things made Izuku feel both giddy and pain. Just like how Katsuki is the person that understands Izuku the most, the same thing can be said for the latter. And Izuku knows Kacchan is saddened by the news, but still chose to cheer him up anyways.
The thing is, Izuku didn't want to go at first, because like what Katsuki and his friends had told him, he's a hero, quirkless or not. And this is precisely the reason why Izuku willingly agreed to go to America. It's because he's a hero, and if he can train to be a more effective support hero in America, then he'd gladly leave them. Just like how he was willing to drop out of UA and move to another hero school when Inko asked him to stop learning heroics, he's willing to sacrifice.
Fast forward, it is finally the day of Izuku's departure. All of Class A are with him. Most of them are crying as they bade him goodbye. Katsuki was silent at the side, face passive, as he eyes his classmates hug Izuku. The nerd's eyes are puffy from crying, yet despite the sadness, Katsuki can see the underlying excitement behind those beautiful emerald eyes.
Izuku finally turns to him, and Katsuki fought to raise his hands to shield his eyes from the sun. Izuku shines like the sun, and Katsuki are the stars, for he wants to always be on Izuku's orbit, hidden within the day, twinkling and bright during the night. As long as both of them are breathing, no, even if one of them are not alive, he'd always be Izuku's stars.
Still smiling, Izuku then offered his hand to Katsuki. Katsuki didn't let his eyes leave Izuku's green ones as he slowly raised his hand to take Izuku's.
They gripped their hands tightly, shaking slightly. Izuku's eyes watered, both of them didn't want to let go, but they know it's inevitable, so with one final shake, with one final slide of their fingers, they unclasped their hands as they let go.
Katsuki's expression was unreadable. The blond made it so because the moment he breaks that mask, he's afraid he will not be able to contain the tears. He doesn't want that, not because it's a show of weakness, but because he does not want Izuku's last personal memory of him is his crying face. He knows Izuku would bear all of their friends loneliness and sadness, Katsuki does not want to add to them.
"Kacchan"
Izuku isn't crying anymore. Instead green orbs stared at him fiercely, determined. At the same time it was also soft and full of gratefulness, but most of all, those eyes tells him a promise.
I'll be back.
Katsuki understands, and like a heavy weight was finally lifted in his chest, Katsuki, not releasing his hold on those big bright emeralds, slightly raises his head as he let out a wide toothy grin.
You better be, Izuku.
It was physically unsaid, but it doesn't matter, because Izuku gets it, and that's all Katsuki needs.
That's right, Izuku would be back. For now, the only thing they can do is to train and be better, so the next time they meet, they can finally be the best heroes out there
Together

bestie bestie bakugou
Bakugou and fem!reader, best friends, roommates, loveeee
Warning - swears, mentions of sex
You were walking around the city for hours now, you left the apartment just before sundown and now it’s raining and you think you see the light from the sun turning the clouds lighter on the horizon. You came home after a long day of work, of fighting a villain, of almost not making it back this time, to find your boyfriend, who you didnt even live with mind you, fucking someone else on your bed. You didn’t say anything, you just walked out, quietly, he didn’t even notice.
The buzzing in your hand caught your attention, making you aware of the heaviness of something in your palm, you raise it to see and then remember it’s your phone. The action causes it to wake up, showing your notifications, 50 missed calls from him and almost as many texts and double the amount of calls and texts from your two best friends
The screen catches the water from the rain as it flows down the surface, you try to unlock your phone, a sudden urge to not be alone hitting you, but your thumb was too cold and wet to unlock with the fingerprint. You go to press in the buttons but the screen doesnt recognize your fingers either, you’re starting to panic, to hyperventilate when the screen lights up, you relax seeing the name pop up and try to answer but you were shaking so much, you brought the phone to your lips, sticking your tongue out to click the green button.
“Fucking bastard is going to die” he says as he wraps you in a towel, pulling you to his chest, “y/n im so sorry. You’re staying here with me for now on, i’ll go to your place tomorrow and get some of your things and get your key back from that fucker.” he was pissed, fuming, you haven't seen him this mad since high school “Katsuki i couldn't possibly put you out” he holds his finger to your lips “shut up, im insisting, plus this place is too big for just me” you chuckle through the shivers that are now finding your body, your skin and bones finally reacting to the cold as your body shakes uncontrollably. “T-t-thank you K-Kacchan” he sighs and takes your hand, pulling you with him down the hall to the bathroom.
After a really nice shower, you exit his big ass fancy shower that was really more like a spaceship, you had to use a step stool to get inside it. It had multiple different heads, a steam option, and could even convert into a jacuzzi, if only you didn’t feel like a bath was too close to being a ‘you’ flavored soup.
You find a change of clothes for you waiting on his bed, a pair of his sweats and one of his shirts, you brought them to your nose, taking a deep breath. They smelled like downey, the yellow kind your parents used to use, it smelt comforting. You slip on his clothes and feel like you’re getting a hug from him.
When you make it back to the kitchen you have the shivers again, your wet hair making your back wet. He takes one look at you, arms hugged around your body, and he throws you over his shoulder and takes you right back to his room. He sets you down on the bed and then takes a hold of his hood and pulls his hoodie off, shoving it down over your head. “I’m making you some tea and then you are going to talk to me more if you feel like it okay?” you nod with a small smile as you pop your arms through the sleeves.
Its been six months, Bakugou has helped you heal through your pain, he got you some things from your apartment and got your key back. He also officially, and with pleasure, told your ex to fuck off, that it was over and to never contact you again, with too many threats to count. He really enjoyed it and wanted to do it for a long time but he’d never tell you that. You cut your ex out of your life, easily letting him go because if you caught him cheating once who knows how long he did it, you were 100% okay with never seeing him again, the hard part was waiting for the feelings to go away, to rid yourself of the habit that was your ex.
You tried to go back to your apartment after a few weeks, it was fine for the most part, you found a completely new bed in your room courtesy of Bakugou and although he denies it wholeheartedly you know no one else would have done that,... but after a few days you called Bakugou, telling him that it just felt empty and that it didn’t feel like your home anymore, he invited you to move in immediately and you never looked back.
Your new bed and all the furniture you didn't sell sit proudly in the spacious spare bedroom at Bakugous apartment. He was right, this apartment was way too big for one person.
Bakugou had girls over periodically and you didn’t mind them at first, you even made them breakfast sometimes, on the off chance Bakugou slept late and didn’t kick them out immediately. He’s never liked the morning after, the girls he has dated were just to fill the hole in his soul made by the feelings he has developed for you. He’s trying to find one that makes him feel as electric as you make him feel.
After a month of random girls you start to notice yourself resenting the girls you hear him with, the way they fake moan in the bedroom, loudly just so you will hear and then they will give you evil stares as they walk out in the morning. You asked Yao-Momo for some advice once, calling her after you hear another loud girl as you went to the kitchen for some ice cream, losing your appetite you left the ice cream on the counter and just left the kitchen (just eyerolling when he tried to give you shit about it) . “just ask him to stop” you sigh “I cant do that. I dont want to cause him any trouble. I just dont know why he has to go for girls like that” you fake throw up and she laughs “y/n do you think you like bakugou?” she asks and you gasp “of course not! He’s my best friend! And hes bakugou! I couldnt possibly…” you pause for a while as you think, were you really discovering feelings for the blasty explosion boy? This was such a rub. She just laughs at you from over the phone “unclench your jaw y/n. Dont be so tense” you realize shes right as you release your teeth, relaxing your face and jaw “you know me so well” you say with a laugh “of course i do. I’m your real best friend. Not some ill tempered boy. If you like him great, tell him and he’ll stop fucking randoms or if you dont like him tell him to stop fucking randoms so loud” you laugh “so wise Yao-momo, me lovely sensei Yao-Momo” she laughs at you before you guys have to hang up, both having work in the morning.
After the next few days you realized just how in love you were with him, getting more and more annoyed with the girls he brought home, not even noticing that they were showing up less and less, pretty soon the random girls have stopped coming over all together, not that you knew that, you still heard what seemed to be sex noises from his room every once in a while, you just assumed he kicked them out right after, not that he was thinking about you and … you know wink wink
Another six months later  you’re with him on a mission, the villains just keep coming wave after wave, a quirk controlling their (dead before you even came around) bodies, it was never ending, if you stopped fighting they would kill you and you didn’t know who the villain was or where they were. You had your agencies looking for them and until then you had to fight, to keep these bodies occupied so they didn't bring chaos anywhere else. You didn’t talk during the fighting but you both were paying more attention to making sure that the other was fine that you ended up just fighting the villains going after each other. When you get home, battered, bruised, and covered in sweat and blood and many tears, you each take turns showering in his amazing shower, you couldn't use a normal shower for your sore muscles.
You made a meal for you both quietly as he showered, too tired to speak or do more than was required, when he came to find you he almost cried with relief at your home cooked meal, he was starving. You ate together in silence, both reflecting on the battle, both reliving every moment where you almost lost the other, where you almost lost the fight, feeling more and more anxious the more you thought about it. What would you have done without him? You didnt want to lose him and regret never telling him, but you know you are way to exhausted to speak.
You stare at each other in the hallway, both wanting to say something, to not leave each other yet. You turn to go and he grabs your hand, pulling you with him into his room before climbing in bed and pulling you along with him down into his soft comfortable bed, he pulls you to his chest and you feel all your stress and anxiety leave your body. He kisses the back of your head “I love you” he whispers into your hair, the only energy he has left. You turn in his arms to look at him and see his eyes blink slowly, he can hardly hold them open anymore. You smile softly “I love you” you whisper back and he sighs, a happy smile on his lips as he lets his eyes close “good” he says and you chuckle, your eyes closing as you lean forward, pressing a soft kiss to his lips before allowing yourself to fall asleep, the feeling of his arm around you and the sound of his soft breaths comforting you.

Req: Shōto is the campus' delinquent. Nobody dare to cross him. Izuku is the campus' nerd. His low social status makes him an easy target of bullying. One day, they're paired together for a project. What starts out as a school assignment blossoms a beautiful friendship as they realized that they're the same. They're both no strangers to pain. Izuku sees Shōto as his own person despite his surname. Shōto sees hurt, pain & sadness behind Izuku's smiles. And eventually, they both fall in love.
Ooooo thank you for the request! :D
'Shoji and Tokoyami for group one. Uraraka and Asui for group two.'
'Yesss!' Uraraka muttered under her breath. Izuku smirked at his friend and nudged her with his elbow.
'Get in there!' He winked, wiggling his eyebrows playfully, earning a frantic shhhhh from his friend.
'Momo and Kirishima for group four.' Aizawa called out. 'Jirou and Hagakure for group five.
'Ooo, halfway though, Dekuuu!' Uraraka sang quietly. 'Are you worried?'
'As long as it's not Kacchan, I don't mind.' He shrugged.
'Bakugou and Mineta for group seven.' Aizawa continued, tone bored, even as the blonde roared with protest.
'Thank fuck.' Izuku mumbled.
'Midoriya and Todoroki for group eight.' His teacher spoke, looking pointedly at him before focusing back on the sheet.
While Uraraka giggled next to him, Izuku froze, his posture straight and a look of shock on his face. He felt a pair of dichromatic eyes burning holes into his back, although he could just be paranoid.
Him and… Todoroki? UA's top heartthrob and bad boy, partnered with Izuku? Aizawa-Sensei had to be kidding, surely.
'Right, that's all of you.' Their teacher called out. 'Sit in your pairs and we'll go over the project in more detail.'
Immediately, the classroom broke out into excited chatter as everyone shouted across the room for their partner. Before Izuku could even say farewell to Uraraka, his friend had already jumped up from her seat to bounce towards where Tsu was sitting.
Izuku sighed and - with significantly less energy - got up to search the room for his partner. Of course, it didn't take long to spot him; even without the scar, Todoroki stood out like a sore thumb.
He sat towards the back of the room, slouched in his chair as he stared out of the window, unfazed by the chaos around him. The morning sun bathed his skin and made the crimson half of his hair shine. Izuku noticed that his classmate was wearing his signature leather jacket, covered in various badges and pins, along with a turtleneck, a pair of navy jeans that clung to his legs, and black combat boots.
It was no secret that Todoroki was the "most handsome guy in school", so it made sense that today was no different. It just didn't help Izuku in the slightest - in fact, it made it even harder for him to clear his throat and gather his attention.
'To- Todoroki-kun, hi!' He squeaked, a large smile plastered to his face that didn't quite reach his eyes. When the aforementioned turned to regard him nonchalantly, Izuku's nerves only exacerbated. 'Do you mind if I sit, seen as we're part- partners?'
When his classmate remained silent, he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly and laughed. 'Sorry about that by the way… I know you probably don't want to be stuck with someone like me.'
'Why are you apologising?' Todoroki raised an eyebrow. 'It's not your fault.'
You didn't deny it though… Izuku chewed on his lip for lack of a better response, until Todoroki eventually nodded to the seat next to him.
'Your reputation precedes you, Midoriya.' He commented as Izuku fumbled into his chair. 'As does mine. I don't mind working with you as long as you pull your weight. You may think I don't give a shit about grades, but you don't know me.'
Izuku turned to regard him with wide eyes, but Todoroki had already gone back to stare out of the window. 'Library after school. We'll make a start then. Can't be arsed going home and I assume you're not too keen on walking home at the same time as Bakugou.'
Izuku furrowed his eyebrows at that. He knew Todoroki could be blunt but… Oh well, he did have a point. Kacchan would jump him the moment they were out of the school gates - clearly wanting to release all that pent-up rage on Izuku because, for some reason, his old friend had made it his own personal goal to make him his punching bag.
'Sure.' Izuku replied, turning to face the front of the room as Aizawa told them all to quiet down. Why me?
☀️🌙
Izuku twirled his pen in his hand as he read through his notes in the library. If the librarian asked, it was school work, even if the "Hero analysis #27" scribbled over the cover was a dead give-away.
Izuku wanted to be a doctor, a hero who saves lives. Ever since he had learnt to read, he was fascinated by how the body worked and how to treat various ailments. His analysis books were where he stored all the information he had absorbed from his readings.
'Last time I checked, "loss of executive functioning in patients with primary progressive multiple sclerosis" wasn't on the syllabus.' A low voice spoke.
Izuku flinched so violently his elbow slammed into the back of his chair and he almost dropped his pen. He winced at the pain and looked up to find Todoroki gazing at him, unfazed by his display.
'T- Todoroki-kun!' A bright smile appeared on Izuku's face and he gestured to the seat opposite him. When his classmate took it, he quickly put away his notebook and replaced it with his psychology workbook and textbook. 'I was starting to think you'd forgotten.'
'I just had a few things to sort out.' Todoroki shrugged, taking out his own book.
Izuku nodded along, expecting him to elaborate, but apparently that wasn't his classmate's intention. Instead, they sat in awkward silence for several moments, until Izuku shook his head to ground himself and opened his textbook.
'Right, let's get started then.' He announced, a trained smile on his face. 'Aizawa-Sensei said we have to do a presentation on the sleep-wake cycle for ours, which is actually quite interesting. I had a quick look over lunch and I was thinking we could start the intro by covering the three different cycles. So, ultradian rhythms are cycles that are less than 24 hours and can repeat throughout the day, infradian rhythms are more than 24 hours - like the menstrual cycle - then we finish on circadian rhythms, which focuses specifically on sleep-wake cycle, then go on to talk about-'
Izuku paused then, realising he had definitely started to ramble there. He knew how much his peers found his habit annoying, so he was surprised that Todoroki hadn't interrupted him and told him to shut up before now.
'Why did you stop?' His classmate asked, genuinely confused.
'You… You understood all of that?' Izuku returned.
'Yes.' Todoroki showed him his workbook, where he had started writing Izuku's ideas down.
'But I was muttering…' Heat rose to his face as he inspected the page. 'You don't find that annoying?'
Todoroki frowned at that.
'Not really. Why would I?'
'Everyone else does.' Izuku mumbled, looking away.
'I'm not everyone else.' Todoroki scratched his cheek, just below his scar. Before Izuku could ask though, he cleared his throat. 'Anyway, I agree with you. Once we focus on circadian rhythms, we can go over the stages of sleep.'
'Sounds good to me!' Izuku beamed. 'We can talk about non-REM and REM too!'
'Yes.' Todoroki nodded. 'Then maybe go into the different areas involved in sleep, so photoreceptors and the pineal gland.'
'That's a great idea!' Izuku burst out, brain going a mile a minute. This was going easier than he had expected. 'Gosh, this is going to be so fun! Right, I know it's not entirely relevant to the presentation itself, but you know dolphins?'
'Yes, I know dolphins.' Todoroki huffed, tone slightly amused.
Was that almost a smile?!
'Well, their brains have a left and right hemisphere like we do, and when they go to sleep, they turn off one hemisphere and the other one stays awake so they can come up for air and stuff! Then they switch around when the first hemisphere is fully rested! Some sharks do it too, it's so interesting!'
Izuku paused for breath. When Todoroki said nothing in response and looked at him with an expression he couldn't quite place, Izuku blushed with embarrassment. 'S- Sorry…'
'No, you…' Todoroki spoke, his voice oddly gentle. 'That's the first time today I've seen you genuinely smile.'
… What?
'I'm always smiling.' Izuku tilted his head to the side. Smiling was his thing. Everywhere he went, he always made sure to smile, even if he was having a bad day. He smiled to put others at ease.
'It never reaches your eyes though.' Todoroki regarded him with something akin to understanding, albeit Izuku didn't know why. 'It's always fake.'
He winced at the wording.
'Does that bother you?' He twirled his pen and looked away, apprehension in his voice.
'A little.' Todoroki admitted. 'I understand why you lie, but I'd rather you be honest - at least, with me, I'd like you to be honest.'
Izuku considered his words. Despite the lack of malice in his tone, he still felt like he had been called out.
'I'm sorry.' He spoke, not knowing what else to say.
'You apologise a lot.' Todoroki stated. 'You don't owe anyone an apology, Midoriya.'
Izuku didn't like this. He didn't know where this was coming from and why Todoroki was saying all this. It wasn't a bad thing, but it was overwhelming. No one had ever called him out for his smiles before.
'I have to go.' He stood abruptly and gathered his books, stuffing them into his yellow backpack. Todoroki looked at him, mildly bewildered.
'Okay. When do you want to meet up next?' He asked before Izuku could book it out of there.
'Up to you.' He shrugged. ‘I can’t do tomorrow though.’
'How about Thursday after school?' Todoroki asked. 'We can go to my place - my old man is at the station all day then so he won't bother us.'
Izuku gulped at the idea of meeting Todoroki Enji, the city's chief of police who was rumoured to be as corrupt as they came.
'He definitely won't be there?' He twirled a loose green curl around his finger.
'I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't know for sure.' Todoroki raised an eyebrow. Izuku didn't know what to make of that.
'Okay, sure. I'll meet you at the front gates after class and we'll walk together.' When Todoroki nodded once, Izuku tried not to force a smile and mirrored the action. 'Great. Right, I've got to go. Bye!'
Before his classmate could say anything else, Izuku quick-walked out of the library. Once he exited the building, he broke into a run down the street. He liked running when he was anxious, it helped calm him.
Izuku sighed and thought of blue and grey eyes, staring into his soul. He then promptly tripped over his own two feet and landed on the floor with a thud.
Resigned to his fate, Izuku made no effort to get up and sighed heavily, cheeks squished against the pavement.
It was going to be a long few weeks.
☀️🌙
[Uwawaka: 17:05] Dekuuuuu!!! Todoroki-kun just cornered me and demanded your number?!?! Erm, have a nice life I guess? I get your shoes when you die
[Me: 17:09] Waitwaitwait WHAT?!?!?! YOU SAID YES?!
[Me: 17:10] URARAKA ANSWER ME
[Me: 17:12] I will eat your pet hamster, you whore
Izuku collapsed onto his bed and smacked his forehead with his palm. Several more minutes passed without a response and he was seriously considering calling her, when his phone suddenly vibrated.
He quickly scrambled for the device. However, when he unlocked it and saw the message, he gasped and threw his phone at the wall.
'Izuku!' His mum shouted from the kitchen. 'What was that?!'
'Nothing, mum! Sorry!' He shouted, moving to pick it back up.
[Unknown: 17.16] Is this Midoriya Izuku?
[Me: 17:18] Yes? Who is this?
Izuku knew full well who it was and added the number to his contacts anyway.
[Todoroki: 17:20] It's Todoroki from Aizawa's psychology class. I got your number from a friend. Hope you don't mind
Either Todoroki was downplaying the situation or Uraraka was being overdramatic. He honestly didn't know who to believe.
[Me: 17:21] No problem, what's up?
[Todoroki: 17:23] I was going to wait till tomorrow but evidently I have the patience of a toddler.
[Todoroki: 17:24] I wanted to apologise if I made you uncomfortable earlier. I shouldn't have indirectly accused you of lying when I do it all the time.
Izuku didn't even know where to start with unpacking that.
[Me: 17:27] You don't have to apologise, you were right. I just smile a lot to make others feel at ease. I didn't realise it could be mistaken for dishonesty if I'm not being genuine.
[Me: 17:27] You lie all the time?
It was bold to ask that, but he couldn't help himself. Izuku was a meddler, through and through. Plus, Todoroki mentioned it first so it wasn’t like he didn’t want to talk about it, he reasoned.
[Todoroki: 17:30] I can understand that. I'd just rather you be honest with me. After all, if you're not happy, it could affect our project
[Todoroki: 17:32] Well, I tell everyone that it's a birthmark on my face when it's clearly a scar. I told a dude I wasn't gay because I didn't want to go out with him. I have depression but deny it when I get asked about it. Then there's a bunch of other stuff that I haven't told anyone that I won't even get into, but yeah
'Wow okay...' Izuku puffed his cheeks out. ‘I guess the reason Todoroki-kun doesn’t talk much is because he’s a over-sharer, but it’s okay. You got this, Izuku.’
[Me: 17:33] Lying and not disclosing something aren't the same thing! But with the stuff you have lied about, I can understand why you don't want people to know, especially considering the way others treat me just because I'm different. And your scar isn't anyone's business except your own!
He pressed send, then hesitated over the keyboard.
[Me: 17:34] Also! If you ever need to talk to someone, I'm here! We're friends now, aren't we? :)
Izuku stared at the screen, waiting for a response.
Several minutes passed without one and he was starting to question himself. However, just before Izuku could completely stress out over how badly he had fucked up, the screen brightened.
[Todoroki: 17:45] Thank you, Midoriya.
Izuku smiled at his phone.
That had gone better than he had expected.
☀️🌙
'Todoroki-kun!'
Shoto nodded to Midoriya, who was waiting by the gate. He was smiling again, but Shoto could tell he was nervous from the way his eyes were on high-alert, darting around the courtyard as if he were about to be attacked. Shoto didn't blame him though - in fact, he'd be more worried if his classmate wasn't on edge.
'Midoriya.' He greeted, once he reached his side. Due to the proximity though, he suddenly noticed the gravel rash that littered his new friend's jaw. 'What happened to you?'
'Er…' Midoriya blushed bright pink. Distantly, Shoto registered that it was actually quite cute, albeit he wouldn't admit it. 'I- I went for a run on Tuesday and tripped.'
'You should be more careful.' Shoto commented, eliciting a laugh from his classmate. 'I'm serious.'
'Yeah, I know but…' Midoriya cleared his throat. 'You just, you sound like my mum.'
His mum?
'Oh.'
'N- Not that that's a bad thing!' Midoriya frantically waved his hands in front of him. 'In fact, thank you… For caring, I guess. You're a kind person, Todoroki-kun!'
Shoto didn't know what to make of that. His stomach felt funny and his face was burning but he wasn't sure why. He coughed to compose himself.
'My house is this way.' He nodded in the right direction and they set off before Shoto could say or do anything he might regret.
The two of them walked in silence. Shoto noticed his classmate fiddling with the straps of his backpack as he mumbled to himself, but he said nothing. In fact, he found that he quite liked Midoriya's voice. It was quite soothing.
Suddenly, he saw a flash of blonde out of the corner of his eye and Shoto quickly looked to find Bakugou across the street. Midoriya hadn't noticed him yet, but Shoto recognised the sadistic smile plastered to Bakugou's face when he spotted the green-haired boy.
Shoto had a particular hatred of bullies, having grown up with one all his life. He knew about the general animosity between Midoriya and Bakugou, and how it had once ended up with the former out of school for almost a week when they were younger. Shoto also knew that Bakugou could be a violent fuck and, as a result, had never really bothered to talk to him.
Now though, Shoto saw the almost predatory look in his eyes as he smirked at Midoriya; he noticed how his classmate - his friend - froze at having been spotted.
'K- Kacchan…' Midoriya mumbled, a wobbly smile on his face. It made Shoto angry - not at Midoriya, but at Bakugou, and at himself for not intervening sooner, even though it wasn't really his problem.
Before he could stop himself, Shoto raised his arm and wrapped it around Midoriya's shoulder, bringing him close to his side. His classmate squeaked at the action, clearly tense.
'To- Todoroki-kun?!'
'Put your hand on my waist.' Shoto instructed, leaning in close to whisper in his ear. When Midoriya complied, snaking a trembling hand around him, Shoto hummed approvingly and looked up at Bakugou.
The blonde was watching them, mouth agape and clearly irritated. When he took a step towards them, Shoto flashed him a warning glare as if to say 'hands off', before pressing a swift kiss to Midoriya's fluffy curls to accentuate his point.
Bakugou stilled at that, his eye twitching, but Shoto knew he understood his position. On the social scale, Shoto was higher up than he was - as much as the latter wouldn't want to admit it - and so whoever Shoto said was off-limits was definitely off-limits. It didn't matter if it was an act or not.
The two of them continued forwards, watching as Bakugou eventually growled and skulked away. When he was out of sight, Midoriya audibly sighed and relaxed against him.
It was… Nice.
'Thank you.' His friend murmured. 'You didn't have to do that.'
'I wanted to.' Shoto shrugged. He knew he should relinquish his hold on Midoriya now that the threat had passed, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. The warmth that radiated from his classmate's touch was calming. Plus, Midoriya didn't seem too eager to let go either, so it wasn't like he was taking advantage of him or anything.
When they eventually reached his house, Shoto reluctantly broke away to fumble in his pocket for his keys. To his surprise though, the door was already unlocked.
Caution in his stance, he slid the door open and checked the shoe rack to see who was home. When Fuyumi's work shoes and Natsuo's trainers came into view, he sighed with relief and opened the door fully to alert his siblings of his arrival. 'It's me!'
It was only then that he registered Midoriya regarding him anxiously. 'Don't worry, it's just my brother and sister.'
'O- Okay.'
Shoto nodded and stepped inside, removing his shoes and waiting for Midoriya to do the same. He then led the way through his house, hoping there wouldn't be any interruptions, but alas, it seemed the universe hated him.
'Shotoutoooo!!!' Natsuo's voice rang out, before his older brother appeared, leaning against the door frame of his room. When he noticed Midoriya, half hidden behind Shoto, he grinned mischievously. 'You brought a friend over!'
'You- You didn't tell them I was coming?!' Midoriya squeaked so only Shoto could hear.
'Yes, I brought a friend home. What of it?' He ignored him and raised an eyebrow at his brother, unamused.
'Nee-San saw you two getting all lovey dovey down the street.'
'I don't-'
'It's true. Don't deny it!' Fuyumi's voice echoed down the hallway, eliciting a cackle from Natsuo.
'Whatever.' Shoto placed a hand on his hip, exasperated. 'Midoriya and I have a psychology assignment to get done, so I'd appreciate it if you fucked off.'
'Nawww, come on! I'm just having fun!' Natsuo winked before looking past him to address Midoriya. 'Shotouto pretends to be an aloof bad boy, but really he's a big softie who loves strawberry milk and manga. Isn't that right, Sho-?'
'NATSUO-NII!' Shoto exclaimed, completely mortified. He grabbed Midoriya's arm and dragged him down the corridor. 'We'll be leaving now!'
'Nice to meet you, Midoriya-kun!' Natsuo called, before Shoto slammed his bedroom door shut and sighed against it.
'He seems nice.' A quiet voice muttered.
Shit. Shoto's eyes widened and he took a breath, composing himself before he turned around to face Midoriya, who was fiddling with his sleeve.
'He's a pain in the arse.' He grumbled, before he strode forwards and set up the chabudai table in his room. 'He always does it. Something about wanting to make up for lost time.'
'Lost time?' Midoriya asked, removing his backpack to help.
'My old man wanted to keep me separate from my siblings when we were younger. Something about "not wanting to soil the perfect child".' Shoto shrugged, gathering two cushions and handing one to Midoriya. 'So it wasn't until about a year ago that I actually got to speak to them.'
'What happened a year ago?' Midoriya was definitely being nosy, but for some reason, Shoto didn't mind it; part of him actually wanted to tell him, even though he had no idea why. Something just told Shoto that he could trust him.
Or it's just because he's the first person your age who has ever bothered to ask. Another part of his mind supplied.
When the two of them sat down on the cushions adjacent to each other, Shoto pulled out his laptop, while Midoriya provided the textbook and workbook.
'When I was younger, my mother used to live at home too. She tried to protect us when the old bastard would come home and want to take his anger out on someone. He liked to take it out on me especially - make sure I toughened up - but she'd always turn his attention on her. One night, when I was about eight, mother had a complete breakdown. She saw the left side of my face, thought I was him and well… The closest thing was the kettle and boom.' He gestured vaguely to his scar. 'That's how this happened.'
Shoto didn't miss the look of complete horror on Izuku's face. 'He sent her away after that, which meant things got worse for me and my siblings. Aizawa-Sensei noticed my bruises last year and we've been working to get him put away, but it's difficult considering his position. It also didn't help that he's caught onto us and is now trying to pretend that everything is better now. That's why I'm allowed to see Natsuo and Fuyumi. He's been trying to manipulate things but he can't pretend forever.'
Shoto trailed off then and silence fell over them. He watched Midoriya for his reaction. He had never told anyone about that before.
He stared at his friend, but his vision became distorted. He thought of his old man, of how his mother had called him "unsightly" before burning him, of how his siblings used to look at him with apprehension and fear.
Shoto frowned. 'Sometimes I wonder if I'm just as bad as him.'
His words were spoken barely above a whisper, but the way Midoriya's head snapped to attention evidently showed that he had heard him.
'You know, Todoroki-kun…' He spoke gently, determined eyes finally meeting Shoto's own. 'I can't possibly understand everything you went through, but I do know this.'
A calloused hand landed on Shoto's shoulder and his vision re-focused to find a small smile gracing Midoriya's face. 'You're not your father. You're Todoroki Shoto, you're a kind person and you're my friend. He can't even compare to you.'
Shoto's mouth opened, but no words came out. Midoriya's words played on repeat in his head.
You're not your father. You're Todoroki Shoto.
He managed to turn his head away, hair hiding the stray tear that had fallen from his eye.
You're a kind person and you're my friend.
'Todoroki-kun, are you okay?'
So many thoughts were screaming inside his head. It was deafening, with Midoriya's words playing loudest of all.
He can't even compare to you.
'Toilet.' Shoto stood abruptly, pointedly not facing his classmate, and strode out of the room, ignoring Midoriya's bewildered shriek. He slid open the door to the bathroom opposite and shut himself away, turning the light on before he braced himself against the sink. His knuckles turned as white as the porcelain and he tried to calm his breathing.
Why was he acting like this? He was supposed to be calm, composed, aloof.
Just like father wanted. An unhelpful part of his mind taunted as tears streamed down his face. He felt a sob build up in the back of his throat. Hold it together. You're pathetic.
'Todoroki-kun.' His thoughts were interrupted by a quiet knock on the door. 'Should I get Natsuo or Fuyumi?'
'No!' Shoto exclaimed, a little harsher than he had intended. When Midoriya didn't immediately respond, he started to worry that he had scared him away.
'Okay.' His classmate eventually spoke, voice muffled due to the door. 'Can I come in?'
You don't want him to see you like this. You're supposed to be better than this-
'Yes.' He choked out, not looking up when the door slid open.
Gentle footfalls echoed on the tiles until Shoto felt a warm presence at his side. Midoriya then crouched down next to the sink to look up at Shoto.
'What's going through your mind?' He asked.
Everything.
'What you said just now, about me being kind and…' He swallowed heavily. 'You didn't mean it, did you? You were just saying it to make me feel better, right?'
'Oh, Todoroki-kun.' Midoriya gazed at him sadly. 'Of course I meant it. You told me to be honest with you, remember?'
Shoto leant his elbows on the sink to hold his face in his hands as he cried silently, only his ragged breathing exposing him.
He heard Midoriya shuffle to his feet. 'Can I… Can I hug you?'
Shoto blanked at that. Of all the things his friend could have said, he hadn't expected that. He furrowed his brow. When was the last time he had been properly hugged? With Fuyumi? His mother?
'Why?' He found himself asking instead, lowering his hands to look at Midoriya, who smiled softly at him.
'Because you look like you need it and I'm an expert hugger.'
Shoto blinked dumbly for a moment, regarding kind eyes, a genuine smile and open arms that radiated comfort, then slowly nodded.
'O- Okay…' He whispered.
Midoriya's smile brightened and he stepped forward, slowly wrapping his arms around Shoto's neck. One hand rested against his shoulder blades, while the other gently held the back of his head, guiding Shoto to the crook of Midoriya's neck. He went willingly and basked in the warmth, immediately relaxing against his friend.
Crooked fingers stroked his hair as Midoriya leant his head against him and he quickly became overwhelmed with emotion. Kind touches were so foreign to him that he usually hated the idea of physical contact. He didn't know why he had let Midoriya in, but he was glad he did.
A broken sob suddenly escaped him and he gingerly returned the hug, squeezing Midoriya's waist and clinging to his shirt. He didn't know how long they stayed like that, Midoriya's voice whispering words of encouragement until his eyes were dry, his friend's shirt was soaked and his throat was hoarse.
'I'm sorry.' He mumbled against Midoriya's neck. 'I don't know what came over me.'
'You don't owe anyone an apology.' His classmate quickly assured, echoing Shoto's words from a few days ago. 'Do you feel better?'
'I don't know.' Shoto answered honestly. Sure, letting his tears fall after years of bottling everything up was cathartic, but he had also unloaded all of his problems onto someone else just because of one comment; it made him feel disgusted at himself.
'It's okay not to be sure right now.' Midoriya pulled back to look him in the eye. 'I'll always be here to talk if you need, Todoroki-kun. We're friends and I want to help.'
Shoto must have pulled a face, because his classmate huffed, amused. 'It's an open offer. We can leave it for now.'
'Thank you, Midoriya.' Shoto didn't elaborate, but he didn't think he needed to, based on the way his friend's smile brightened.
'Shall we go work on our project for a bit?' Midoriya asked patiently. 'Then maybe we could watch a movie or something? I saw your Ghibli badges on your jacket - maybe we could watch one of them?'
Shoto wiped his eyes with his fist and nodded.
'That sounds nice.'
☀️🌙
'How could you?!' Izuku exclaimed, hand over his heart, horrified as his mum showed Todoroki his baby photos.
He had left them alone for one minute to get snacks, and now his soon-to-be-disowned mother was huddled up with his friend on the sofa, flicking through a photo album like it wasn't the most embarrassing thing in the world.
The two hardly spared him a glance, before continuing to point and giggle at baby Izuku in a hero onesie.
'Midoriya really is cute.' Todoroki smiled warmly and Izuku's cheeks suddenly felt a little hotter. 'How old was he in this one?'
It had been several weeks since their project had been assigned. Despite the emotional outbursts, they had managed to get their presentation done and performed. Their grades were still being determined, but Izuku was confident that they had done well.
That wasn't all that had happened though. Ever since that day Todoroki had opened up about his past, the two of them had grown closer, frequently texting and hanging out at Izuku's after school. They even spent their free periods together, which seemed to intrigue and confuse a lot of students. After all, Todoroki was the scary, mysterious pretty boy and Izuku was a self-identified nerd who liked to mumble to himself. Neither of them really cared about what their peers thought though.
As the days turned into weeks, however, Izuku realised that not only were people no longer tormenting him in the corridors, but Todoroki had started to smile more. Whenever Izuku would ramble about anatomy, he would listen, lips upturned and process every word with interest. Izuku loved his friend's smile and each one felt special because Izuku had caused it.
It took a single conversation with Uraraka to realise what was happening, and another one with Fuyumi to gain the courage to do what he was about to do.
'Mum, could I talk to Todoroki-kun alone for a minute?' Izuku rubbed the back of his neck and looked away. His mum knew about his crush - she had easily picked up on it due to Izuku's habit of muttering about the things he liked - so he hoped she would take the hint.
'Okay, sweetheart.' She grinned when Izuku's jaw dropped, mortified at the endearment. He also didn't miss the way Todoroki bit his bottom lip slightly with amusement.
Before Izuku could chastise her for clearly inappropriate behaviour in front of company, his mum closed the album and stood. 'I'll be in my room if you need me.'
When the door shut behind her, Izuku sighed with relief.
'I love her more than anything but I swear she gets some sort of sick satisfaction in seeing me suffer.' He groaned.
'I think she's great.' Todoroki smiled up at him. It lit up his entire face, no matter how small, and Izuku thought he looked beautiful.
Focus!
'So what did you want to talk about?' His friend asked, leaning back and crossing one leg over the other.
'You're a dear friend to me and I know we weren't close until recently, but you've become a big part of my life.' He began, fiddling with his hands to ease his nerves. 'I'm sorry, I don't really know how to say this.'
'It's okay.' Todoroki spoke, his smile vanishing. 'I understand if you feel like it's too much. Sometimes I can get a bit overwhelmed by all this - having a friend - but I treasure your friendship too, so I'll respect your decision if you want to stop-'
'Wait, what?' Izuku exclaimed. 'I'm trying to tell you that I have a crush on you, not that I don't want to be friends.'
Shoto stared at him with wide eyes.
Oh fuck.
Izuku slapped a hand over his mouth and let out a strangled cry as realisation set in. He wasn't even that surprised at having admitted his feelings; he was surprised at how easy it had been.
What wasn't easy was the look of uncertainty on Todoroki's face.
'Midoriya…'
'I'm so sorry for making you uncomfortable-'
'I have a crush on you too, I think.'
That was the thing he least expected his friend to say.
'You do?'
'Yeah.' Todoroki scratched at his flushed cheek, no longer looking like his usually-composed self and instead rather vulnerable. 'I've known for a while that I feel different towards you compared to others. I feel… Safe around you, like I can trust you, and while everyone calls you plain-looking, I think you're actually quite cute.'
Izuku felt like his head was going to explode. One, Todoroki had just called him cute; two, his crush just admitted to feeling safe around him; and three, Todoroki was looking at him with such sincerity that his chest ached.
'That makes me so happy, Todoroki-kun, you have no idea.' He whispered, tears spilling from his eyes. 'I feel the same about you, except you're not cute, you're… Actually quite breathtaking.'
When he was met with silence, Izuku looked up to find Todoroki looking at him with amusement.
'Well now you've made me look bad.' He huffed, standing up and walking towards him.
'You could never look bad. That was my whole point. ' Izuku quipped, before suddenly being enveloped in a hug.
That was another thing about their relationship that surprised Izuku in a good way: Todoroki, touch-starved most of his life, had become particularly fond of cuddles. Now, Izuku had no qualms with this - he encouraged his friend to smother him with hugs whenever he needed it - but this hug felt different. Several emotions were communicated in that moment.
It almost felt desperate, yet hopeful.
'I'll have to thank Aizawa for pairing us up for that project.' Todoroki murmured against his neck, eliciting a short laugh from Izuku.
'Yeah definitely.' He pulled away to take his friend's hand, interlocking their fingers. 'We can thank him together.'
Todoroki huffed with mirth.
'I like the sound of that.'

izuku takes in a very big stray dog and he never had a dog before so he's excited because kacchan is so SMART while his friends are like,,, that's not a dog but izuku just keeps insisting otherwise IT’S A DOG while werewolf!katsuki doesnt know how this useless human managed to survive this long.
So izuku is actually an ordinary, boring human, there’s absolutely nothing special about him whatsoever, and has no clue about the supernatural world especially how like ALL his friends are like not HUMANS at all (i.e. ochako is a witch) and how they try extremely hard to have him remain oblivious and protected from the supernatural shenanigans but ofc it's izuku so they worry a lot lol! so even though his friends try to keep izuku away from it, the supernatural has ways of finding him anyway (i.e. all his friends are like witches, zombies, etc) then there’s katsuki, who come from a powerful shifter clan, practically landed in izuku's lap somehow and Izuku IS STILL thinks he just got lucky and has a new dog now.
the joke is izuku is 100% human with no special power at all except if the power is attracting weird shit to him?? because he's magnet for it since young like how his next door neighbor NEVER SEEM TO AGE AT ALL because he’s a vampire or how his ‘imaginary childhood friend’ is an actual literal ghost. so izuku got really hilariously messed up scale of what is 'normal' for him is TERRIBLY FUCKING FUCKED up for everyone else like when he was walking home one night and got attacked by this weird homeless kid out for his literal blood and izuku thinks it’s a new hallucinogenic i guess?? then he's saved by this BLOND DUDE WITH RED EYES WHO KINDA LOOK LIKE HIS DOG KACCHAN. The blond dude bit the kid's neck but the kid didn't seem to die so IT'S OKAY. the man then turned to izuku and started to YELLED AT IZUKU FOR NOT PAYING ATTENTION and BE MORE CAREFUL BEFORE DISAPPEARING.
instead of being totally WEIRD OUT AND TERRIFIED BY THIS, izuku is like starry eyes and thinks blond dude is hero that he raced home and cuddle his dog kacchan as he gushed about this AMAZING GUY HE MET EVEN THOUGH HE ALMOST DIED AND THIS WEIRD DUDE JUST BIT A KID'S NECK LIKE HE’S A RAGDOLL BUT SOMEHOW THE KID DIDN’T DIE,,,, lmao.
izuku being totally oblivious to all things supernatural and is very much a human, still get wrapped up in all sort of magical hijinks and it's hilarious how this poor human is constantly surrounded by this op ancient creatures of legend and izuku is like,,, that's my dog and that's MY FRIENDS. which is now rumor about him started in the supernatural community because izuku is always with one of his magical friends so other creatures who doesn't know IZUKU AT ALL assume he's like some ancient creature lost to history thousands of years ago to be able to tame all these powerful beings to him LOL but in reality they all gravitate to izuku because he's PURE OF HEART, JUST THE SWEETEST AND THEY JUST LOVE AND ADORE HIM BECAUSE HE'S GOODEST BOI and they try their best to keep him safe and away from other dangerous creatures of the community but ofc it's IZUKU he's trouble even as a human.
he get involve in shifters territory war but think it's some weird neighborhood fight going on?? and that kacchan fighting other dogs is just kacchan not getting along with other dogs esp the strays that keep popping up while katsuki does his best to keep izuku safe AND FIX THIS SHIT. THEN someone raised the dead and izuku thinks it's some weird communal disease going on that make ppl act FREAKY as his friends and katsuki to scramble to put down a necromancer before izuku become part of the undead but he's like IT'S FINE IM SUPER HEALTHY I WONT GET INFECTED LOL. supernatural things keeping on izuku and HE REMAINS STAUNCHANTLY OBLIVIOUS TO IT. most of it is intentional by his friends/katsuki but some part of it is just izuku being izuku but he may be 100% HUMAN but he's the center of all the CRAZINESS and they love him for it even as they despair.
katsuki doesnt know how he got stuck with this dumb human because he's DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW IZUKU SURVIVED THIS LONG without like getting eaten/kill already because HE KEEP ATTRACTING THE WORST KIND OF CREATURES TO HIM,,, so katsuki sticks around izuku just to make sure izuku is HUMAN just to keep an eye on izuku ya know?? because maybe izuku is hiding some ancient superpower within him or something because izuku CAN NOT BE THIS STUPID AND OBLIVIOUS TO THE FACT THAT HIS 'DOG' IS ACTUALLY A WOLF AND NOT EVEN THAT BUT A WEREWOLF OK. like PLS PAY ATTENTION STUPID DEKU!!
katsuki comes from a lineage of ancient bloodline and superior species but THIS HUMAN IS LIKE STRESSING HIM OUT BECAUSE weird shits keep happening around him and it's a 24hrs job because he constantly have to keep an eye out for izuku unless he GET EATEN OR KILL OMFG. thanks to katsuki terrible anxiety about izuku's entire trouble magnet existence, rumor spread around the shifter community that izuku is THAT HUMAN – bakugou's pet human!! so they should be careful around him because bakugou will blow his shit if someone hurt or damage him at all.
so izuku finds himself surrounded by friendly animals wherever he go that when he got lost one time a cat led him back to the right path. another time a bird brought him back his lost keys etc and he thank the animal each time while the shifter is like,,, GOD THIS HUMAN IS FREAKY because HE'S UNFAZED BY IT ALL no wonder bakugou is keeping him AROUND obviously this human got some special power to him that bakugou is keeping protected so one day he can use this human as a weapon to dominate the supernatural fractions war or something AND that's how izuku accidentally become a legend in shifter community LMAO.
katsuki doesnt spend like all his time as izuku's lapdog because KACCHAN is so smart that he comes and goes from izuku's house all the time that izuku isn't worry that his dog sometimes disappear for days and return home whenever he want because he'd seen kacchan took down a bear ONCE and kacchan is super smart that izuku swears kacchan can sometimes understand him. he also doesn't find it weird that the blond dude who is call katsuki has a similar name to his dog and how katsuki pop it anytime izuku needs help, yell at him after checking that's he's 110% alright, and then disappear like some weird superhero but who only save IZUKU LOL.
izuku has the HUUUUUGEST crush on his hero and spend 40% of his time gushing it to his friends who is all concerned and is like pls pls bakugou is THE WORST STAY AWAY FROM HIM and the rest of it complaining to kacchan about katsuki while katsuki SUFFERS through the cuddles. katsuki and the dekusquad can't stand each other because katsuki is from the supernatural fraction that hates human and think they should live separately and well, izuku’s friends aren’t from that fraction obviously BUT they're united in reluctance unity in keeping izuku out of trouble AND SAFE and it's the GREATEST ALLIANCE EVER. is it an extremely tough job that take a lot of ppl to do apparently lmao but they're unified in that regard because izuku may be human and has no POWER whatsoever but he's the center of their world and they just want to keep him safe, OBVIOUS and HAPPY. he got the best PPL AROUND HIM!

Bakugou x F! Reader
Scenario: Drunk confession.  (Everyone is aged up appropriately! 21+)
Word Count: 1,615
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: Cursing and alcohol
———————-
Bakugou was washing the dishes when he could hear multiple text message notifications. He growled in annoyance at the constant noise and then cursed when he received a call.
He let the call go to his voicemail as he chose to finish his dishes first. Another phone call was received and Bakugou quickly finished up. What the hell could be so important?
He sees numerous texts and calls from Ashido and before he could even read the messages; she calls again. Bakugou quickly answers, wondering what the urgency was.
“BAKUGOU!!” He hears her scream his name as soon as he presses the receive button.
“Stop yelling! What the hell do you want?!” He wanted to hang up already.
“It’s __(y/n)! She’s lost!"
You, Ashido, and a mutual friend were supposed to attend a party tonight. Unfortunately, Ashido accidentally sprained her ankle this morning so she was unable to go. You still went with your friend and a couple of other people she invited.
Two hours into the party, Mina gets a call from your mutual friend that they had to leave because one of the girls started vomiting from the many mixed drinks she had. She was trying to find you, but couldn’t locate you and their friend desperately needed to go home. The other people she had invited went their separate ways so she had no help at that time.
And that was how Bakugou found himself at a random house party. He tried to call you, but your phone was either off or dead since it went straight to voicemail. The explosive boy entered the house with no problem, your crush zooming through each room to find you.
He sees you near the back, leaning against the wall while you were talking with another male. Bakugou glares at the stranger, becoming protective when he sees you looking slightly uncomfortable with the conversation.
———————–
"Yeah, that’s cool. I like that band also. They’re amazing in concert.” The guy you managed to strike a conversation with raises his cup slightly, clinking it with yours. “Cheers to __(band name)!"
"Y-yeah! Kampai!” You politely cheer back, taking a small sip from your cup. You were already feeling the alcohol and you knew that you had to pace yourself since you can feel yourself slightly swaying. Also, you didn’t know anyone in the room and couldn’t find the group that you came with.
“Aw, c'mon, you barely drank yours! I’m almost done with mine.” He peeks into your cup.
“Oi!” You hear a familiar voice, both your heads turning to the man approaching you.
“Kacchan! You’re here!” You say happily, glad that someone familiar showed up.
“Who’s this? He your boyfriend?” The stranger asks you.
“Oh God, I wish.” You say dreamily as you drunkenly smile at Bakugou, not realizing you said that out loud. For a split moment, Bakugou’s cheeks light up, but immediately suppresses his slight embarrassment.
“C'mon, let’s go home. Raccoon eyes and your other shitty friends have been trying to find you. One of them was plastered and had to go home and I don’t want to end up in that position."
"Wait, can’t we stay for a bit more? You’re here now so you can tell Mina that I’m safe. Besides, you and I haven’t hung out in a while.” You really missed your friend since both of you were tied up with hero work.
“Why the hell should we stay at this shitty ass party?"
"Just for a little! Couple drinks here and there and maybe a shot or two?” You tried to convince the red eyed male.
“Maybe he can’t hang.” The young man who was talking to you earlier interjected, sipping on the rest of his drink.
“Hah?” Bakugou quickly turns his head towards him.
“Well, yeah. I assume you can’t handle your alcohol so that’s why you’re so eager to go home.” He shrugs and you grab onto Bakugou’s hand, pulling him towards you and the exit.
“A-ah, it’s okay, Kacchan! We can go home, I don’t wanna pressure you. I was just wondering if we could stay, but no worries. Anyway, thanks for inviting us!" You didn’t want a fight to break out because you knew how competitive Ground Zero could be. You knew that he took that taunting as a challenge.
"Who the hell said I can’t handle any alcohol? You little punk, I’ll fucking show you."
"Oh yeah? Then why don’t we play a few games? Loser takes a shot every time they lose."
"Ha! I’ll take fucking 5 shots right now and still kick your ass!” You sigh loudly as you hear Bakugou accept the proposal. You went with Bakugou to the kitchen to help pour him the liquor while the other guy set up a few games. You took the last two shots out of the five with Bakugou, wishing the male good luck.
Bakugou was definitely the life of the party now. Everyone wanted to compete against him and his presence seemed to hype everyone up. He definitely won more than he lost so ended up taking more shots later on. However, you knew that Bakugou had a high alcohol tolerance.
Of course he would.
Your crush was perfect. Perfect hair. Perfect eyes. Perfect face. Perfect body. Maybe the way he spoke to people could change a little, but you didn’t mind him being a bit rough with you. You were used to it and he never took it too far with you.
“I win again, ya damn loser! Take that fucking shot right now!” You hear Bakugou yell after his pong ball landed on his opponent’s last cup. Everyone in the room cheered loudly for Ground Zero and you could almost see his ego inflate just a bit more.
“Your boyfriend is amazing! He basically won every game!” One of the party guests went up to you.
“Boyfriend? You mean Bakugou? Aw man, I wish I could say he was my boyfriend!” You giggle to yourself, placing a hand on your reddened cheeks.
“Why do you keep wishing for it? It’s gonna happen …just be goddamn patient.” Bakugou quickly retorts back.
“Oh my God! So cute!” The guest who was beside you squealed, quietly clapping her hands in excitement.
Bakugou’s eye twitches at the stranger, placing both his hands on your shoulders and pivoting you towards the exit. He finally proved that he could most definitely hang so there was no need for him to interact with these extras. You yell your goodbyes and thank yous to the entire crowd before finally meeting with the cool outside air.
“Fucking finally. It was so goddamn hot in there.” Bakugou grumbles while his ears also adjust to the different noise level.
“I can’t be patient.” You pout at the blonde male, referring to his previous statement. “I’ve been in love with you for sooo looong. How long have you been in looove with meee?"
With your big, beautiful __(color) eyes, reddened cheeks, and pouty, luscious lips staring up at him, he almost stuttered out his answer. He grunts to readjust his voice, looking away so his embarrassment wouldn’t show.
"Longer than you, of course.” Bakugou always had to turn every situation into a competition, but you were so elated to find out that he reciprocated your feelings.
“Then what’s taking you so long to ask me out?” You lightly hit his arm, pouting even more.
“Because! I just … I had to make sure I wasn’t gonna waste my time.” He continues to avoid your gaze, his usual grumpy expression painted on his face.
“Oh? Is the big, pro hero, King Explosion Murder, afraid that someone else was gonna sweep me away?” Just by reading his body language plus years of being very good friends with him, you figured out the reason for his delayed action. Even people like him had their insecurities and doubts.
“S-shut up!” Bakugou could feel his entire body heat up more.
“Don’t worry… you had my heart first so no one else could ever take it.” You smile up at him, placing a quick kiss on his already blushing cheek. A surprised daze was displayed on his face, frozen for only a brief moment.
“So does this mean I can finally call you my boyfriend?” Your voice snaps him back to reality.
“N-no, you can’t!"
"Huh? Why notttt? Didn’t we just admit that we liked each other already?”
"So? If I’m gonna be your boyfriend, I’m not gonna do it half assed. I’m gonna ask you properly and I’m gonna take you on one of the best goddamn dates you’ve ever been.“
"Ooh, I’m so excited! I can’t wait.” You latch onto his arm, intertwining your fingers with his. At first he’s stiff, but eventually gives your hand a light squeeze once he’s used to your touch.
“But wait! You have to promise me you won’t make me wait forever and that you won’t forget.” You hold out your pinky to him.
He scoffs and rolls his eyes, linking his finger with yours. Once your pinkies are hooked, he leans down, pressing his lips to yours gently. Your eyes widened at the kiss, your heart pounding in disbelief and elation. You pout at how quickly he pulls away, your lips craving more of his taste.
“There. Sealed it. You happy now?” He tries not to grin at your slightly astounded look and red cheeks, feeling proud of the effect he had on you with a small gesture. Once you regain your composure, you smile at him, pressing your body a bit closer to his as you walk side by side; hand in hand.
“Very.”

Among Us Heroes
Chapter Word Count: 3,714
Summary: What are you supposed to do when you wake up trapped in an unknown location, with people you don't know, and are forced to complete a series of bizarre tasks without the use of quirks in order to be set free while trying not to die? Hold on, someone isn't who they say they are?
Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo need to work together to figure out a way out of this insane experiment before someone dies.
Notes: I've been playing a whole lot of Among Us lately and I couldn't help but wonder how a game similar to that would play out between these three. The only difference is this isn't a game and if they aren't careful, someone will die.
Warnings: Blood and Violence
Quinn's Masterlist!
...
Hushed breaths filled the air. The only other sounds were the eerie creaking of the vents overhead. Izuku worked quickly, his hands racing over the thick wires that controlled the lights and flinched when one of the wires sparked, nearly shocking him. He'd already messed up twice and the complete darkness surrounding them was freaking him out. It had been dark for almost a full three minutes now, anything could've happened.
"How's it coming?" Shoto glanced around them, straining his ears for the slightest sounds. The dim flashlight he was holding over the wires blinked off for a few seconds before he tapped the back and the light weakly fluttered back to life.
"They've been severed. I have to strip them and twist them back together." He mumbled, tying the last two together in the hopefully correct pattern this time. "I don't know how long that'll last though."
"We need to find the others. Bakugo ran off on his own again." Shoto clicked the flashlight off as the pale fluorescents flickered back on above them.
"It's better to stick together, given the circumstances, but teamwork isn't really in Kacchan's vocabulary." Izuku sighed, pulling at the itchy black collar locked around his neck. "It's dangerous alone."
Shoto tucked the little flashlight back into his belt and motioned for Izuku to follow. "Come on, we shouldn't linger here." He stepped out of Electrical, glancing in both directions. The dim hallway was void of life and he couldn't decide if that was more or less unsettling. "Clear, let's go."
The boys had decided early on that it would be safer to stick together, but Katsuki being Katsuki, had decided he didn't need anyone's help and stormed off by himself. His pride might very well be the death of him.
Two pairs of footsteps echoed around them as they walked down the corridor, heading for their next task. If they completed all the tasks, then they would win, they would be set free. At least, that's what the voice on the loudspeaker had told them. Katsuki blew it off, running off on his own saying he'd find his own way out, but after what happened in the Cafeteria earlier, Izuku and Shoto had decided the safest option was to complete the tasks until they could figure a way out for everyone.
"The closest task is in the Engine Room." Shoto had pulled out the small holographic map that highlighted his face in a gentle blue. "There are no windows. Do you think we're aboard some sort of ship?"
"That could be the be case." Izuku shuffled through the contents in his utility belt. "If we are on some sort of ship, then that adds to the dangers of trying to escape. If we were-"
Shoto held out an arm, shutting Izuku up. "Do you hear that?"
Izuku blinked and looked around the dingy hallway, straining his ears. In the distance, they heard the faint sounds of soft footfalls. The light didn't even let them see properly all the way down the hall, like it was meant to obscure their vision.
"Be on guard." Shoto tucked the holographic map back into his pocket and spread his feet into a more defensive position.
A figure slowly emerged from the shroud of darkness, leaning against the wall as they dragged themselves forward. It was a girl, wearing the yellow version of the same uniform they'd all woken up in. Well, it was mostly yellow, aside from the giant splotch of red running down her right side. There was a dazed look in her eyes when she looked up at them.
"Help." She whimpered as her body gave out and she slid down the wall.
The boys glanced at each other before Izuku rushed forward, Shoto following close behind. He caught the girl, who was at least a few years younger than him, before she could hit the ground. Thinking back on it, she was one of the youngest ones here, just a middle schooler dragged into some sort of twisted game.
"What happened?" Izuku helped her sit up against the wall.
"It was Sugi-Sugiyama." She spluttered out, clutching her side. "I don't understand, he would never..." Hair fell in front of her face. "He wouldn't."
"Sugiyama?" Shoto knelt next to her. "The big guy in red?"
She nodded, wincing at the movement. "H-he came at me with a knife right before the lights went out. He was my friend, why would he do that?"
A small alarm went off on their wrists. It was a device that they had quickly learned alerted them to any sabotages. No one was given much explanation when they'd woken up, only that they had to complete their tasks in order to be freed. Only one thing kept running through his mind; their captor, who had only given them the name Sentry, had said not to trust anyone. Was someone not who they said they were? If they did have an imposter among them, trying to kill them, then that meant that they had to find the others- and fast.
"It's communications." Shoto informed them. "We won't have access to our tasks until it's fixed."
"Okay, let's go. Can you walk...uh..." Izuku never got her name.
"Seno." She gave him a grateful smile as he helped her up, letting her lean on him while they walked. "Thanks. Midoriya and Todoroki, right?"
They nodded. No one had gotten much of an introduction before everything broke into chaos after they had all woken up. Only a few names were tossed around before everyone scattered, too shocked to stay together.
"Do you know what this place is?" She asked, limping along with them.
"I don't know," Izuku mumbled, "but it's obvious they want something from us. I'm just not sure what it is yet. The voice, uh, Sentry, said something about a test."
Her breath hitched as she jostled the wound. "Do you think...do you think we're going to die?"
"No." He said firmly. "We're heroes. If we can work together, we can figure this out. We will make it out of here."
"But I'm not a hero like you guys." Her grip around his neck tightened. "I don't know why I'm here. I wasn't even planning on going to a hero school."
"Don't worry Seno," Izuku gave her a confident smile, "you've got us now. We'll protect each other."
She took a shaky breath and dipped her head, hand digging into her bloodied side. "Thanks."
Izuku readjusted his grip. "Let's head to Medbay. There should be some supplies to help with that wound."
Shoto took the rear, keeping a sharp eye on their surroundings. He wasn't going to let anyone sneak up on them; a mistake he'd already made once. The silence roared in their ears as they shuffled down the hall.
It was odd that they hadn't seen anyone in what Izuku deemed too long. The place wasn't overly huge and if everyone else was running around doing tasks, it would only be logical to assume that they would run into each other at least a few times. They'd been alone since the lights went out. Something seemed off (aside from the entire situation) and the issue gnawed at the back of his mind.
When they neared the open doorway, Seno raised her head. "Oh, Medbay." She bit back a groan, pressing her hand further into her bloodied suit. "Good thinking."
Izuku crossed the threshold and the door immediately slammed shut behind him with an angry hiss. He barely had time to dodge the heavy metal that slid in from seemingly nowhere.
"Woah, is everyone oka- Todoroki!" Izuku spun in a circle looking for his friend. He must have gotten locked on the other side. "Todoroki, can you hear me?"
No answer. The doors were soundproof and with no handles, it was useless to try to pry it open. They were stuck until they opened automatically.
Seno slipped away from him, staggering to the wall to balance herself. Her eyes were closed and her breathing turned ragged and panicky. "We're dead." She gasped through shaky breaths. "They've trapped us. We're gonna die."
"No, Todoroki can handle himself and I'm right here." He stepped closer. "We'll be alright, I promise."
She turned to face him, leaning against the wall. "How can you promise something like that? You have no idea what's at stake."
He blinked. "What do you mean? Do you know something?"
"Your smart Midoriya, can't you figure it out?" She gestured to her bloodied suit. "Someone is in here trying to pick us off one by one." A groan drew past her lips and she slid down the wall, curling in on herself. "We're all going to die."
Of course he'd suspected something like this. It was only confirmed once Seno showed up. This Sentry person, whoever he was, had given them a clue. But the question still remained: why?
"No. Not as long as I'm still around." Izuku glanced at the heavy metal door. "I'll get some supplies, just hang tight okay? Ill be right back."
Once she nodded, he turned to the shelves of medical supplies not quite sure what to look for. They'd only been taught basic first aid so far, so anything more advanced was beyond his current capabilities. Medbay wasn't all that large, only consisting of a few rolling shelves full of supplies and a few pieces of lab equipment. He ran down the rows and picked up anything he deemed useful, gathering an armful of bandages, antiseptics, and so on.
"Seno, are you still with me?" He called out, trying to balance a roll of gauze on his pile.
No answer.
"Seno?" He poked his head around the edge of the shelf, only to see an bloody spot on the wall, sans one injured girl. "Seno? Seno, where are you?"
A tingle on his neck was barely enough warning to whip around just as a knife slashed down his shoulder. He dropped the supplies in his surprise and stumbled back bumping into the shelf. The shelves themselves were the plastic movable kind, which provided no support when he hit them. He and the shelf crashed into the ground, breaking a few glass containers that he unfortunately landed on top of.
The angry burning sensation of the knife cutting into his flesh and the pieces of glass poking into his back was thrown on the backburner as he rolled to the side, dodging the second strike.
Above him, Seno, knife in hand, glared down. "You're too trusting Midoriya." She said scolded softly. "A smart person never trusts anyone."
Izuku kicked out his leg, striking her in the knee. She gasped and collapsed backward, dropping the knife in the process. Izuku used those few seconds to jump to his feet, ignoring the fire running down his shoulder.
"What are you doing?" He dropped into a defensive stance when she grabbed the knife and climbed back to her feet. "Seno, stop this."
"No." She said it so quietly, he almost didn't hear. "I can't." Back on her feet, she held the knife out, looking like she might start crying at any minute. "You wouldn't understand. I have to kill you. I'm sorry."
She charged, swinging the knife around wildly. It was obvious she had next to no training with the weapon and Izuku easily countered. He twisted the knife hand until it clattered away and almost on instinct, pulled her arm over his shoulder and threw her down. Her back slammed into the floor and a strangled cry flew from her lips.
"I can't understand unless you tell me!" He yelled, still holding her arm that kept her pinned the ground. "Why are you doing this?"
Thick tears gushed from her eyes and she opened her mouth, but instead of words, a thin black spear-like object shot out so fast he didn't have time to dodge. The barbed tip sunk into his shoulder with a sickening Schunk. He stumbled back, but even the slightest movement tore his skin, sending razor sharp pricks of pain all the way down his arm. He was essentially locked in place, but then, so was she.
If he had his quirk, he would've been fast enough to dodge, but he didn't have his quirk. No one did, well, except for Seno apparently. The heavy metal collars adorning everyone's necks were supposed to suppress any significant use of quirks. Seno's must have been different or it was just for show. Whatever the case, she seemed free to use her quirk.
"Seno," He ground out, gripping the spear so hard his knuckles turned white. "Stop, I can help you if you just tell me."
With that spear sticking out of her mouth, she couldn't speak even if she wanted to. Instead, she reached into her pocket and produced a gun. Her hands were shaky as she pointed the barrel up at him. Lying next to his feet gave her the perfect shot and getting shot from point-blank range didn't exactly stack the odds in his favor.
The door finally clicked and hissed back open. A frazzled Todoroki squeezed through the door before it even finished opening. He took less than a second to take the whole scene in before he rushed forward. "Midoriya!"
Izuku kept his eyes on Seno who was clearly starting to panic. Her finger slipped over the trigger and Izuku did the only thing he could; he ripped the tip from his shoulder with a scream just as the gun fired. Through the haze of pain, he saw one of the lights shatter overhead and glass rain over him. White hot agony spread through his whole torso and he collapsed with a choked gasp.
Seno retracted the spear and scrambled to her feet. There was nowhere to run, she was trapped, or so he thought. She ran for the corner of the room where a floor grate opened up and she slid into it. The metal grate slammed shut once she dropped through and sparked in warning. He couldn't follow, not that he would, there was a more pressing matter to attend to.
Behind him, Izuku had dropped to his knees, curling around his shoulder with eyes squeezed shut, biting his lip to keep from screaming. Todoroki knelt next to him and inspected the wound. The green of his uniform was quickly turning red. He needed to stop the bleeding. Luckily, they were in Medbay.
"Hang on." He rushed to the pile of supplies Izuku had dropped earlier and came back with a handful of things that he laid in front of them. "We have to stop the bleeding."
Outside his bubble of pain, he registered Todoroki's voice, but he was having a hard time understanding him. Hands gently grabbed his arms and he flinched away, only for a new wave of pain to wash over him.
"Midoriya." Shoto was frantically trying to get his attention, but Izuku couldn't seem to pull himself out of that haze of pain. "Stop moving. I need you to look at me."
Izuku scrunched his eyes open to see Shoto's bi-colored eyes staring at him in concern. After a minute, he managed to get his breathing under control enough to glance down at the bloody mess that was his shoulder. It was bleeding way too heavily and soaked straight through the multiple bandages Shoto was pressing on it. He'd been hurt worse plenty of times by now, but he couldn't remember any other injury hurting this much, so what was the deal?
"I need to get more bandages." He grabbed Izuku's hand and put it over the soiled bandage. "Keep pressing, I'll be right back."
Shoto left his vision and Izuku squeezed his eyes shut again, trying anything to dull out the pain. It was as if every nerve on his body suddenly went on high alert. He didn't even realize he'd fallen backward until his shoulder hit the ground, jarring the already sensitive area. His mouth fell open, but the agonizing cry at the tip of his tongue couldn't seem to come out. The pain had effectively muted him.
In no time, Shoto knelt next to him again, ripping open a new packet of bandages and unzipping Izuku's uniform enough to pull the saturated fabric away from his shoulder. Once he wiped the blood away, he saw a nice sized hole right below the collarbone that seemed to have torn out in a gritty star shape. With this much bleeding, it was entirely possible that an artery could've been severed. If that was the case, Izuku would bleed out in minutes at best; at worst, seconds. He needed to stop the bleeding, but how?
"Heat." He mumbled, looking down at his hands. He couldn't use his quirk, so he was all but useless, but maybe something in here could help. "Hold on Midoriya."
He was up again, sifting through the medical equipment like a madman to find what he was looking for. In his haste, he slammed into one of the rollaway shelves, knocking it over. After a desperate search through the cabinets, he found what he was looking for and rushed back to his friend.
"Midoriya," Shoto tapped his cheek to get his eyes open again, they were hazy and his pupils were completely blown. "I need to stop the bleeding. I'm going to cauterize the wound. It's going to hurt...a lot."
Izuku swallowed thickly and nodded, looking more tired than in pain. His body was quickly diving towards shock. Shoto wasted no time in turning on the Bunsen burner and dipping the scalpel he'd found in betadine before holding it over the flame. Once he judged it heated enough he pulled back the bandage, wiped away the excess blood, and poured the rest of the betadine on. Then he stuffed a clean rag in Izuku's mouth.
"Bite on this and hold still." He said and quickly pressed the heated metal flat on the wound for two seconds then pulled it back just as quick.
As soon as the hot metal touched his shoulder, Izuku howled through the cloth and tried to squirm free from Shoto's grip. His breath caught in his throat and a series of muffled coughs followed. Shoto leaned over him, keeping him pinned to the floor as he brought the scalpel back down for a second time and Izuku could only writhe under the pain.
"I'm sorry." He whispered and pushed the metal down for a third time.
When he pulled back, the blood had finally stopped spilling out of the wound. That part was good, but he still needed to see a proper doctor, something they were sorely lacking at the moment.
Izuku went slack which only prompted Shoto to work faster, quickly cleaning the wound and dressing it. He'd lost a lot of blood, so he wasn't entirely surprised that the boy was on the verge of fainting, but that put them in a compromising situation. Seno was still out there and now that her secret was out, they were in danger. If she was smart, she would eliminate the both of them before they found the others. No, if she was smart, she would have shot Shoto. She had enough time, but instead she fled.
"Midoriya, hey look at me." Shoto pulled the rag out of his mouth and tapped his cheek. He squinted open his eyes before they fell shut. "Come on, no time for sleeping. Are you with me?"
A heavy groan rolled from his mouth and he opened his eyes again, trying his hardest to focus on his friend. "S'rry." He mumbled.
"Don't worry about it." He dropped his head with a small sigh of relief. "Can you stand? We can't stay here."
Izuku nodded and tried to sit up, only to immediately fall back with a sharp wince, mouth hanging open in a painful grimace. A few deep breaths and he tried again, this time with Shoto's help. After a few agonizing seconds, he was finally on his feet, leaning heavily on Shoto, clutching his shoulder for dear life.
"Where'd she go?" He managed to rasp out.
"She ran off into the vent." He glanced at the sealed vent cover. "She could be anywhere at this point, but I have a feeling she isn't far off."
His head sagged and he would've fallen over if Shoto wasn't holding him up. "We gotta find the others." His voice was all but a mumble. "Warn them."
The devices on their arms suddenly beeped in tune with the loud warning bells that blared over the flashing red lights. Something big was happening. Shoto shifted Izuku enough to grab the map from his belt. It was glowing the same bright red with the words MELTDOWN flashing across the screen.
"A meltdown. What does that mean?" He muttered.
"I think..." Izuku took a shaky breath. "I think it's the engine. We gotta go there."
"Are you sure you can walk?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." He looked the exact opposite of fine. "Thanks Todoroki...for saving me."
"Don't thank me yet, we're still not out of here."
His eyes drifted over to the vents. He'd seen a lot of vent access points on their way over here. A lot of opportunities for a sneak attack. They really needed to find the others.
Izuku took one step forward and nearly fell over. Shoto managed to steady him and looped his good arm around his neck. "Take it slow. I can't have you passing out on me."
"Don't worry, I've had worse." He chuckled, raising his head just enough to look Todoroki in the eye. "This is nothing."
Shoto gave him a disbelieving look, but kept his mouth shut. Izuku was so pale he was starting to match Shoto's right side. They needed to find a way out of this place before Izuku collapsed for good.
The two limped out of Medbay following the map towards the Engine Room. It was clear across the facility. Shoto would have to stay on constant guard, especially now that Izuku was injured. It was a dangerous trek, but they were left with very little options. All they could do now was survive until this nightmare was over.

Soulmates bakudeku / kirikami au part 10
Part 9
“What’s your problem?” Denki inquired, frowning.
“Listen. I don’t know what’s going on but Kirishima was looking at you the same way you look at him. It’s just… He seemed….” Katsuki falter and Denki interrupted him, yelling.
“WHAT?”
“Shut up! I don’t know, I’m confused, but I don’t think you should just make out with the first guy you see. At least not in front of him”
“I’m hurt and I need comfort. And what the fuck? Why are you doing this? You know how I feel, and you come to me with this?! He’s Midoriya’s soulmate. I saw the stain!”
“I know Kami, but we don’t know what’s going on, just…”
“No, shut up! Fuck off!” Denki pushed him and left. Katsuki sighed, sitting again on the stairs.
“He’s drunk, huh?” Kirishima said beside him.
“No, he’s not. He’s just…” But Katsuki didn’t finish the response.
“Are you mad at him?” Katsuki didn’t answered. “Hey, don’t worry. I think he was being silly. I don’t think he‘d do anything with that guy or anything”
“Like I care. It’s his fucking problem. I advised him, if he doesn’t want to listen and do whatever, that’s his funeral!”
Kirishima frowned, thinking. Katsuki wasn’t mad with Denki after the latter flirted with another guy right in front of him? Well, maybe his relationship was that way. Or yeah, they could be not dating at all. But one thing was clear…
Me: “They’re not soulmates” The redhead texted to Izuku.
Mido: “What?”
Me: “What you read. Some random dude asked Denki and he said he doesn’t have a stain”
Mido: “I’m happy for you”
Mido: “Flirt a little”
Me: “He went away”
Me: “Come back”
Mido: “Fine”
Kirishima sighed and Katsuki looked at him out of the corner of the eye. “You good?”
“I’m fine”
“Good” Katsuki brushed his eye one moment and suddenly stopped dead. “Fuck,” he hissed as he looked at the back of his fingers, two of which were streaked with eyeliner. “Fuck!” The blonde dug one hand thought his pockets for his phone and tried to use the screen as a mirror, but he couldn’t see shit.
“Let me see” Kirishima said, leaning towards him. Katsuki turned to face him.
“Did I make a mess?”
“A little. But I can fix it” Kirishima searched for a tissue inside his pockets and focused on the blonde again. “Oh. May I? You could look for a bathroom and do it yourself. Or I can go find Kaminari”
“I don’t care. If you can fix it, just do it”
“Uh. Okay” Kirishima started to wipe up the smudged eyeliner with care as to not smear the good part. He was trying to not touch Katsuki, but eventually he raised the other hand and hesitated a little.
“God, what are you afraid of,” the blonde asked, grasping Kirishima’s hand.
“Nothing, it’s just… you don’t let anybody touch you” Kirishima tilted Katsuki's face with a steady hand, eyeing his handiwork.
“Well, it doesn’t matter anymore”
“Why?” Katsuki moved his eyes to find the source of the voice, though he already knew whose voice it was. Izuku stood a couple feet from the steps, looking at them, with the hoodie folded over his arms. Katsuki didn’t answer.
“Hm. Well. I think it’s okay now” Kirishima pronounced, mostly to fill the uncomfortable silence. He released Katsuki and looked at both eyes from further away. “Yeah, looks good”
“Thanks”
“It’s nothing. Maybe you should go find Kaminari?”
“Fuck him. It’s him who’s mad at me” Katsuki blurted, pushing himself to his feet and walking a little ways away. Izuku approached the redhead.
“What happened?” Izuku tried to focus on his roommate, and not the brooding blonde’s back.
“I don’t know. Denki got upset about something Bakugou said and left”
Izuku stayed quiet a moment, though when he spoke next he couldn’t quite hold back the bitterness that tingled his voice. “You touched him”
“Yeah, I… I tried not to, but…”
“How is it? No, I don’t… nevermind” Izuku shook his head.
“You know, he seems okay with touching now. Maybe you should try, just so you can stop thinking about it”
“If he feels like I think he does, I’ll never be able to stop thinking about it. I think it hurts enough already, thanks”
“You can’t stop thinking about it either way” Kirishima sighed. Izuku looked at him sarcastically, but the despair he was suppressing fought its way onto his face. The redhead patted Izuku’s shoulder. “Go. Try. I think I’ll go track down Denki”
Kirishima had just gotten to his feet when he spotted the second blonde approaching. He trotted towards him as Izuku shuffled anxiously towards Katsuki.
“Hey, you okay?” The redhead asked, stopping about two feet in front of Denki.
“I’m fine, just…” Denki looked up at Kirishima. The boys had stopped in a shaft of light from a floodlight by the pool, and Denki found himself studying the redhead’s face. Those beautiful red eyes with that little scar he had to overcome the urge to not touch almost every time he see it. His kind little smile filled with those pointy teeth he wanted so badly to be bitten by. And his spiky hair, which… “Your hair… it looks redder?”
“Oh, yeah, I have dyed it again last week, the color was fading. Are you sure you’re fine? You seemed pretty upset earlier”
“He was just trying to help me, but I can’t be helped” Denki reached a hand and pulled his fingers through Kirishima’s spikes to remake some of them. “You look cool” He let his hand dropped and smiled shyly. “Sorry” The blonde hugged himself, rubbing his arms.
“Don’t worry” Kirishima smiled. “Are you cold?” Denki nodded. “Do you want the hoodie?” Before the blonde could answer, Kirishima was already unzipping it.
“No, no, keep it, I have my own somewhere else. So, did you dye it yourself?” Denki continued rubbing his biceps, feeling goosebumps under his fingers.
“Yeah. Midoriya helped me this time, but he’s such a disaster. He spilled with dye on both of us. Hey, just take it” Kirishima slid the jacket off his shoulders and was sliding it down his arms when Kaminari grabbed the fabric and pulled it back over his shoulders.
“Keep it” the blonde insisted. He then stopped dead as Kirishima’s words finally processed. Wait. Was the red mark on Izuku’s leg hair dye?
“I’ll go grab yours, then”
“Wait!” Kaminari snagged Kirishima’s sleeve, making him stop. “Did you say…?”
“What?”
“Was he wearing shorts?”
“That’s… yeah? He ended up with red blotches on both legs. He’s still blaming me”
Denki smiled wide. Kirishima smiled back; he didn’t know what Kaminari was smiling for, but he couldn’t help it.
“What?”
“Nothing. I just… Midoriya said it was totally your fault because you couldn’t stop squirming”
“How dare he? Has he spoken badly about me to you?”
“No, no, don’t worry!” And Denki laughed. Kirishima’s eyes brightened. Denki shivered at the cold and brushed his arms once again.
“Hey, I uh… I noticed that you’re hugging a lot of people tonight,” Kirishima started, examining his shoes intently, “and you don't want the hoodie and don't want me to go grab yours…” He grabbed the sides of the hoodie, opened it, inviting Denki to hug him under it. “You wanna share?”
Denki smiled shyly, cheeks slightly pink, and took a step forward. Denki felt like melting, feeling the warmth of Kirishima’s body, wrapping his arms around his torso and laying his head over the redhead’s shoulder.
 ---
Izuku sat beside Katsuki, who was standing to the side, scowling at nothing. They stayed silent for several minutes.
“Why did you ask why?” The blonde asked without looking at him.
“Huh?”
“Earlier. Why did you ask why?”
“When you said it doesn’t matter anymore?” Katsuki didn’t answer, so Izuku assumed he was correct. “Are you serious? We have known each other since forever and you did care all this time. Why don’t you care anymore?”
“I just don’t wanna talk about it”
Izuku sighed but got up and approached the blonde. “And you’re okay with this with everyone or only with a few?”
Katsuki looked at him, founding piercing green eyes. Izuku took another step at him. And then they heard Kaminari yelling.
---
“What’s my number today?”
“Hm?” Denki muttered against Kirishima’s shoulder.
“In your hugging records”
“Oh, you’re the eleventh, but two of them were Midoriya and Bakugou, so…”
“Hmm. By the way, are you… and Bakugou having… something?”
“What? No!” Denki stepped back and their arms brushed each other inside the hoodie. They felt something weird and both flinched back. Denki saw how a red, little, pretty stain bloom on his forearm, near the elbow, and he covered it with a hand. “WHAT!?”
Izuku and Katsuki turned to look at him.
Denki looked up at Kirishima, whose eyes were wide and fixed on him. The redhead took off the hoodie and looked at the inside of his arm, close to the inside part of the elbow. A little electric yellow stain was there. He touched it, rubbing it in disbelieve. “Denki?”
“Are we soulmates?!”
“Are we?”
“We are!” Denki threw himself at Kirishima, who picked him up in an enthusiastic hug.
“What the actual fuck?” Katsuki blurted beside Izuku.
“They’re soulmates! Oh my, that’s great”
Katsuki took a step away when he saw how Izuku was reaching a hand to touch him. And Izuku stopped dead; he didn’t mean to do that. Suddenly Katsuki took the hoodie of Izuku’s hands and put it on, taking another step away.
“Hey, what happens?” Izuku inquired.
“I don’t know what the fuck is happening. I thought he was your soulmate”
“What? Who? Kirishima?” He took a step forward and Katsuki took one back. “Wha- why did you think that?”
“You had a stain”
“What?” Izuku shook his head, confused. Katsuki lowered his view toward Izuku’s knees and Izuku looked down at himself. “Oh, that? That was hair dye. I was helping Kirishima and... Wait. Did you think…?”
Katsuki just turned and started walking away, lips in a tight line. What the fuck? Hair dye? So Izuku hadn't found shit.
Izuku grabbed his clothes to make him stop. “Kacchan, what’s happening?!”
“Don’t touch me!” Katsuki freed himself and left, leaving Izuku behind. Katsuki didn’t know if he was feeling relief or more scared than ever. They had been so close they could have been touched by accident. Izuku was actually so close to touching him on purpose. It could’ve been the end.
Izuku kept looking at his friend walking away. He felt awful and jealous. What’s with him? Was he angry with Kaminari? Were they dating after all? But they didn’t have stains, so… Had Kacchan been fine with touching people only because he had thought he, Izuku, had already found his soulmate? So the problem was still Izuku. The boy clenched his hands in fist and headed to the exit.
“Kats, where are you? Are you with Midoriya?” Denki was on the phone, as well as Kirishima. Both Katsuki and Izuku had disappeared and they were trying to locate them.
“It was hair dye…”
“Yeah, I know! Are you not relieved?”
“I… I don’t know… I feel…” Katsuki’s eyes watered, and even if he tried not to, he sobbed.
Denki sounded worried at the other end of the line. “Hey, where are you? I’ll go to you and we can go home, okay?”
“No, just… Stay with Kirishima. I’m happy for you, enjoy the night”
“No, bro, no way. Tell me where you are”
“Really, you don’t have to-”
“Katsuki. Where. Are. You”
Katsuki told him and five minutes later Denki was there, comforting him without making questions.

MEAGS. bnha ghost au ? zombie au ? do tell x
(In reference to this post)
Thanks for the ask, Ty! I will trigger warn for death, zombies, ghosts, and weapons in this answer, which is why the rest of it will be below the cut! Stay safe, friends! :)
BNHA Ghost au:
lol, I may have told you about this one before. This is my BNHA bakudeku au where Izuku actually had a quirk instead of being quirkless. In this au, Izuku can see, speak with, raise the dead, and control them. The idea originally started off as just being able to see ghosts, which is why the wip is called the Ghost AU, but as I was planning it out, it quickly turned into more of a necromancer-like power. I've posted some of it already(I'll put a link to the fic on AO3 here). Here's an excerpt from one of my favourite scenes, if you want a little preview of how I write bakudeku:
“…sorry for not believing you about your quirk,” he muttered. His face was pinched, like the apology left a bad taste in his mouth.
“You hate admitting you’re wrong, don’t you, Kacchan?” Izuku replied without thinking. As soon as his words registered, he froze.
“The hell?! I fucking apologized. What more do you want?” Katsuki growled as he stopped drying dishes and glared at Izuku. Izuku could feel his hands trembling, so he kept them hidden in the dishwater. He swallowed, staring straight ahead so he didn’t have to face Katsuki’s glare.
“We-well, I mean…for starters, you-you should treat me more like a person, and-and-and not just…just some useless trash,” he answered as evenly as he could. He could hear the tremor in his voice and he winced internally, but he didn’t let it show on his face. There was silence again. Izuku took the fact that he was still alive as a positive and continued to wash the plates.
“I never said you were trash.” The words were quiet, almost inaudible, but Izuku heard them. He bit his lip, weighing the wisdom of speaking his mind or staying silent. But he’d been silent about this for too long.
“You did call me useless.” He didn’t dare raise his voice above a whisper. The conversation they were having now, it felt so fragile, like if he did anything too sudden or spoke too loudly it would break and disappear.
Katsuki’s jaw tensed and he glared at the plate he was drying. “You…you always act so…weird. What kind of kid thinks he can just be a hero, with a quirk that’s not physical, not doing any training or working on his physical body?!” he hissed. “You can’t get through hero work on brains alone! But you never did anything to prepare that way. It’s-it’s like you’re looking down on me!” The words stung Izuku. He felt embarrassment flood his face and he wanted to cringe. Of course a person couldn’t be a hero without any physical skills, and yet Katsuki was right. He’d never focused on that part. He’d always just…assumed it would work out if he applied his brains well enough. To someone who probably did work out and was training his body, that would be like looking down on them. But still…
“Yeah? Well, what kind of kid thinks he can be a hero when he won’t even stop other kids from picking on his…his…his…” Izuku struggled to find a word that could describe what he was to Katsuki.
“His friend?” Katsuki’s voice was even quieter now. Izuku turned to him, eyes narrowed.
“Are we? Friends?”
Katsuki looked away and swallowed. “I don’t know what we are,” he admitted.
Now, for the Zombie AU, lol, this one is not quite as developed. Basically, it's a non-quirk-universe au, bakudeku, where a zombie apocalypse occurs. I played around with the ages of the characters a bit to add some variety in their occupations. We have nurses, cops, students from both high school and university, and more. I'm still working out a lot of this one, it's honestly an early version of the story, but here is an excerpt I've been playing around with:
“Oh no. God no. Please! Help! Somebody! HELP!” Katsuki screamed as he stumbled backward. The creature in front of him shuffled forward, intent on reaching him. “No. No! Please! Not this!” He fumbled with his belt and managed to pull out his gun. With shaking hands he managed to hold it up. “Please,” he begged, his voice a whisper. The creature paused, as if it could process his words, could understand him, not just following the noises he made. It lifted its head and Katsuki saw the eyes, dead and blank, with a white film over them. The skin was pale, almost blue. Lips were pulled back in an almost-familiar, wide grin. A grin that was too wide. A grin that showed too much of the perfect, straight teeth in the creature’s mouth. The creature that was no longer a man. No longer his friend. Tears streamed down his face. “Please! No!” His hands shook but he kept the gun pointed at the creature as it moved forward. “STOP! Please,” he sobbed. “Oh God.” The creature did not stop. Katsuki screamed wordlessly as he close his eyes and squeezed the trigger.
And that's what I have so far! (along with at least three pages of just planning and plotting, lol)
