And when you love somebody, you figure it out. You know, it’s gonna take some time. And you’re gonna make some mistakes. And you might look back at years of your life and say, “What the hell was I thinking?” but…not when there’s love. And the only real mistake that you can make is to let that love just slip away.

Best Fictional Characters to date (not ranked)
1. Percy Jackson: a man who would jump into Tartarus just to be with me ... GOD YES, 12-year-old me is screaming right now. Plus do not forget the golden retriever energy Percy has around Annabeth.
Tumblr media
2. Gilbert Blythe: Imagine getting rejected by your crush of 10 years in the late 1800s when asking her hand for marriage. Most men of that time would perhaps yell at the woman, or threaten to force her hand in marriage. But not our Gilbert Blythe. This man took the rejection well and constantly supported Anne's hopes and dreams while loving her from the sidelines and never telling her so, till she told him that she loved him first. And she did she loved him to death. (slight spoiler: they have seven children together)
Tumblr media
3. Nick Nelson: Never judged Charlie for his sexual orientation, protected him from his bullies, never mistreated him, always stayed beside him no matter what the situation (webtoon readers will know what I mean), and was just the perfect fucking boyfriend overall. Ps: the beach scene.
Tumblr media
4. King George the 3rd: OK, I might be a bit biased, but cmon have you seen this absolute perfection of a human being. He ALLOWED himself to be tortured just so he could be with the woman he loves. Was the kindest and sweetest person who allowed his BRIDE the option of not getting married if she did not want to... RIGHT BEFORE THE FUCKING WEDDING!!!!! (I did not add the under-bed scene below because I did not want anyone to cry... you are welcome. )
Tumblr media
5. Prince Wilhelm: THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE COUPLE OH MY GOD!!!! I FUCKING LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! Not only was this guy the absolute fucking green flag, but he was so deeply in love with Simon that he was ready to give up the fucking crown for him!! And the way he cared and loved Simon, even though he was unsure of his sexuality was amazing. Most tv shows would just immediately portray the character as homophobic but, Young Royals has done an amazing job at portraying the teenage mindset, especially when it comes to sexuality.

I realized I don't have a list for what fandoms and characters I write for, so I made one. I will update this over time.
I write yandere content, sometimes involving self inserts or ocs or even a reader if you ask in all except Harry Potter fandom.
I do platonic and romantic, tell me if you have something specific in mind or just a vague idea! Also I write scenarios rather than the bulleted imagines (I'm tired and forgot the name), so keep that in mind!
I will currently write for:
Naruto
Naruto
Sakura
Sasuke
Kakashi
Etc.
Percy Jackson
Percy
Annabeth
Grover
Clarrisse
Almost any god
Give me more and maybe I'll add them to the list
Harry Potter
Harry
Hermione
Ron
Ginny
Tom Riddle (maybe older Voldemort him)
The twins (separate and or together)
Etc.
Yandere Simulator
This includes all of their gender bends and many versions of them (all yandere, cannibal Amai, etc.)
Ayano Aishi (yandere-chan)
The rivals (there is no way I'm typing out every single one)
Taro Yamada (senpai)
Her mom (preferably when she was younger💀)

I have the biggest unpopular opinion in the history of unpopular opinions 👀
My annual fall rewatch is Hart Of Dixie NOT Gilmore Girls...
I cannot stand that much Lorelei, she's unbearable to me I'm sorry! I can watch some episodes here and there (especially anything involving Jess) or I could tolerate a rewatch but skipping lots of episodes per season, especially the last seasons
But Hart of Dixie? I can watch everything, it feeds my soul with a beautiful ending

Hiiiii if you’ve got the time I’d love for you to talk at me more about AB and George eloping 💕💕💕
yesssssss <3
-okay so, as i've mentioned before, i headcanon georgabeth eloping in paris while they're in europe for pamela bailey's big european tour that eventually just turns into them traveling and seeing the world like they've both always wanted
-i think it's a totally spur of the moment thing. i think george proposed at the very beginning of the trip (i put it into a fic that lemon had helped him pick out the ring and he waited a bit to do it so as not to "steal lemon's thunder" in regards to her wedding with lavon) but they weren't even going to think about setting a date or planning or any of that until they got back
-but well then they're in paris and it's so romantic and they're just so in love that one evening after a long walk along the seine, ab just turns to george and goes "let's get married. right now." and george is george so he's immediately on board (also yes i just looked up paris wedding license laws and let's just pretend those aren't real in the hart of dixie universe okay shhhhh)
-of course france is catholic and they are not, so they just go to whatever the french equivalent of a justice of the peace is and get married that very night in court (do they have night court in france? in the hart of dixie universe they have night court in france)
-it's so quick and fast and totally different from ab's first wedding and what george's aborted wedding to lemon was supposed to be and yet and yet...it's so them, it's the happiest they've ever been
-they spend the rest of the evening at a paris jazz club where people buy them copious amounts of champagne in celebration (proper champagne here as lemon would tell them) and george may or may not sing a song or two (ab is drunk enough that she finds it funny) and they get so tipsy that they pass out as soon as they get back to the hotel and they don't actually consummate the marriage until the next morning
-and then of course they try to hide the marriage from everyone back home cause they know they'll be upset but they find out inevitably and make them have a ceremony in bluebell when they get back lol
-but, george and ab always celebrate their anniversary as the date of that magical romantic night in paris :)

The Disability Library
I love books, I love literature, and I love this blog, but it's only been recently that I've really been given the option to explore disabled literature, and I hate that. When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be able to read about characters like me, and now as an adult, all I want is to be able to read a book that takes us seriously.
And so, friends, Romans, countrymen, I present, a special disability and chronic illness booklist, compiled by myself and through the contributions of wonderful members from this site!
As always, if there are any at all that you want me to add, please just say. I'm always looking for more!
Edit 20/10/2023: You can now suggest books using the google form at the bottom!

Benedict Bridgerton x Princess Reader
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
As you made your way through Buckingham Palace, you ran into your mother, Queen Charlotte. Being the youngest of your siblings and your mother's miracle child meant she held you dearly in her heart. But what made her anxious about today's ball was that it was going to be your first debutante ball.
Making it her personal mission to make the ball perfect meant you hadn't seen her. "Good morning, Mother," you said as you bowed elegantly. She made her way over to you and placed her hand on the bottom of your chin, lifting your delicate features.
"Y/N, just the person I was looking for. Do you like these flowers to go with today's theme or these?" She said as she pointed to two bouquets. One was filled with white roses and pink tulips, adorned with different greenery added into it. The other bouquet had white tulips but was mostly filled by baby's breath, of course with the added greenery.
"The first one is beautiful, of course, but the second one seems to grab my attention more. Especially the baby's breath, it can mean purity and innocence, what I am to be for my husband." You said to your mother.
Your mother turned to look at you, pride seeping through her features as she couldn't hold back the tears welling up in her eyes. She grabbed your hands and held them with sincerity. "I am truly proud of what you have become, and I know you will make a sensational wife and mother."
You couldn't hide your smile from her. You loved your mother very much and wished you could be just like her, a loving wife. You had to leave her so you could start getting ready for the ball and quickly make your way to your room. You had your maid, Annabeth, help you pick a dress for the ball. You both decided on a pale pink dress with embroidered flowers matching the ones in your hair.
Annabeth helped put half of your hair up, putting it into a bun while having the rest curled freely. She grabbed some flowers and put them into your hair as she grabbed your crown. It was bigger than the other debutante but still had the simplicity that captured a man's attention. Annabeth helped you with your shoes next and chose a pair of pearl earrings and a pearl necklace.
Before you leave, you remembered to bring a feathered fan, a trick your mother had shown you not too long ago. Your mother is waiting for you outside of your room with her dog, Charles, whom you had given to her not long ago. She looks at you shocked as she eyed you up and down.
Queen Charlotte slowly made her way over to you and gripped your shoulders tenderly. "You are most perfection, my dear, wonderful job on today's dress." You couldn't hold back the smile you gave her as you gave her a quick hug filled with love. She laughed out loud and reciprocated your hug and held you tighter.
You both had to wait until the guests had fully arrived and held on to each other for support. "Y/N, promise me you'll find someone who you will love and cherish with your whole existence? And that you'll visit me often!" You nodded towards her as you heard both your names being announced.
The ballroom became hushed as they announced your mother's name and then yours. The doors opened, and your mother pushed forward, pulling you with her. Both of you stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at the gentlemen and ladies. Synchronized, you both went down the stairs slowly and poised.
Once you reached the floor, your mother grabbed your hand and kissed your cheek, earning the soft awe of mothers. You decided you wanted to get a drink to quench your thirst and sipped on a lemonade.
You started to walk around, noticing the many staring young suitors around the ballroom. Being a princess ment you were in everyone's list of prominent wives. The ton also knew you would either be Duchess of Sussex or next in line for the throne after your brother George.
As you walked around the ballroom, you noticed a certain lord looking over at you. Lord Berbrooke made his way towards you, pushing anyone in his way. His eyes never left your body and smirked in a disgusting manner.
You turned around quickly and made your way across the ballroom hurriedly. Lord Berbrooke was catching up to you, but before he could reach for your wrist, you noticed a certain Bridgerton.
Benedict Bridgerton was the most handsome man you had ever seen and one of the most lovable. But you knew you couldn't be with him because of his lover, Madam Delacroix. Remembering your situation, you hurriedly made your way over to Benedict to escape Lord Berbrooke.
"Lord Bridgerton, would you do me the honor of having this dance with me?" Benedict looked taken aback but accepted your invitation, offering his arm towards you. You both made your way over to the dance floor capturing the attention of the ton.
As you both held each other, you couldn't help but feel his arm wrap around your waist softly and offer his hand for you to take. "What a surprise, Princess Y/N. I never expected you to choose me for your first dance." His eyes never leaving your own and moving gracefully to the melodic music.
"Please don't fluff your pride. I needed help with escaping a certain Lord. Lord Berbrooke tells everyone I am to be his princess and the mother of his children." You said as you rolled eyes while Benedict was chuckling to himself.
"Princess Y/N, do you wish to be a mother, or are you more concentrated on your throne?" You smiled at his question, answering diligently. "I wish to have a big family full of love and honesty. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't mind being away from the crown and living a simple life that I could enjoy. My husband shall be the most important person in my life as they will be my soul mate and lover. My purity is solely for them, and my moments shall be enjoyed with them. I wish to find a husband who is passionate about what he does while also loving me for me." You answered while your eyes looked around every couple dancing.
Benedict couldn't take his eyes off of you. You showed such grace, worthy of a princess, but expressed your wanting for a normal life. Benedict could remember all the times he had seen you with Queen Charlotte looking gorgeous. Your presence exuded a powerful leader while your very being showed a caring and kind person.
The perfect mix for the future crown princess of the Great nation.
"Lord Bridgerton, how do you feel about having a wife?" Benedict looked at you with confusion, his eyebrows scrunching together as he slightly shook his head. "I have been meaning to find one, but it seems I always get distracted with painting. But I hope to find a wife that is as loving as you."
Benedict looked down towards the shock in your face. You looked towards his gentle eyes and smiled a pure smile. "Then Lord Bridgerton, let's get married." In that moment, Benedict seized from dancing and looked at the ton that was staring back. Chills ran through his spine at the thought of marrying you. Sure, you were beautiful, kind, gentle, and admirable, but you were a princess. You didn't belong with someone like him.
"I must reject you, Princess Y/N. I only see you as a friend, not a lover." Benedicts' composure fell at the sight of a single tear falling from your eye. "What if I told you, Lord Bridgerton, that I fell in love with you from afar? Would that change anything?"
"I'm afraid I can't reciprocate your feelings, Your Highness. I just see you as a friend." Oh , how he wished he had said yes, he knew that he too had fallen in love with you from afar. He missed the feeling of your hands on him and could only stare at your retreating figure. "Lord Bridgerton, thank you for rejecting her. I truly appreciate it!" He turned around only to see Lord Berbrooke excited with a long grin in his face.
"Whatever do you mean Berbrooke?"
"Well, if it wasn't for you rejecting, I would have never had the chance of being with her. So I thank you." Berbrooke patted Benedicts shoulder walking away to go and find you. Benedicts fist wrapped tightly around itself as he looked over at you, longing in his stare.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Benedict could not think about anything other than you until he heard Francesca mention your brethothal. "Did you hear, mother? Princess Y/N is engaged to Duke Simon Hastings, it's all over Lady Wistledown." Violet rushed over her daughter and snatched the paper from her. Looking over to Daphne, she watched as her daughters heart broke, but in that moment, they heard a knock.
"Please, right now is not the time. If it is about lunch, then we -" You walked in with a sad expression on your face, smiling at the family you couldn't help but notice the lingering stare of a certain Bridgerton. "No, Lady Violet, I don't bring lunch. I wanted to explain my betrothal to Simon Hastings." You looked over at Daphne, who your mother named her diamond at her last ball.
You knew she had fallen in love with Simon and how he felt for her, too. The room fell for you to explain. Before you did, you got something from your pocket hidden in your dress. It was a box that contained a diamond necklace, which was a present from your mother. You walked over to Daphne and sat next to her, offering the box to her.
She opened it and looked at it as she gasped at the sight. "You know he's afraid of marriage." Daphne, along with the Bridgertons, looked over at you with wonder. "Daphne," you said as you grabbed her hand, "I don't think of Simon as a husband or companion. Rather, I see him as a brother. He proposed to me after he saw Nigel Berbrooke try to take advantage of me." Before you could say anything, Benedict sprung at the sound of Nigel.
"Nigel tried to come onto you? Are you sure you are okay?"
"Yes, Benedict, I am sure thank you, anyways Daphne."
"When did he try?"
"What?"
"When did he try?"
"After you rejected me at the ball my mother had for me." Violet gasped at the fact Benedict had rejected you. Violet was too busy with Daphne to notice your dancing with Benedict. But you gave them a look that said let me finish. "Daphne, I'll break off the engagement today because I know how Simon feels about you."
Daphne couldn't help but question you, "What do you mean feels about me?" You couldn't believe Daphne hadn't seen the way Simon looked at her or how he held his breath when she was not with him. "Daphne, he is utterly and truly in love with you. Use this information at your will. That necklace is called the Necklace of Soulmates, which is said to bring to you the one who's meant to be with you."
Daphne looked down at the necklace and then looked at you as she mouthed a thank you. You offered her a smile as you got up to leave the beloved Bridgerton home. Before you could leave the Bridgerton home, you heard Benedict calling your name.
You ignored him and continued your way into the carriage. Just as you were about to enter, you felt Benedict grab your wrist and pull you back towards him. He wrapped his hand around yours and placed his other on your warm cheek.
"Y/N, once you break your engagement, will Nigel keep bothering you?" Benedict had a tone of urgency to his voice. He stared deeply into your eyes, scanning them for a truthful answer.
"Lord Bridgerton, let me go right now." You said, demanding out of annoyance.
"Answer me, Y/N. Please."
"After I break my engagement, Nigel plans to propose to me. But I'll probably find another man, seeming that I am a princess. Now Benedict, I need to go prepare for tonight's ball and hopefully your sister's engagement."
"Marry me, Y/N." You stared at Benedict in shock and heard a gasp behind you. Both you and Benedict looked behind you and saw Nigel with a bouquet of lilies.
"Princess Y/N, please tell me you don't plan on being married to this baboon." You noticed that both the Bridgerton and Featherington were watching the scene. "Lord Berbrooke, this does not concern you."
"How could this not concern me, Princess Y/N? You are engaged to Duke Hastings unless you're committing adultery. In that case, Mr Bridgerton, please tell me now if she is unpure." Your mouth was left agape at the accusation.

Mean girls x Percy Jackson character combinations
Here are my concepts for my meangirls Percy Jackson au that I’m in the process of making rn!!
There are a couple ideas I’ve not decided on just yet
Specifically the vibe of the reader in the story,
The three options are a Karen!reader, Cady!reader or a standalone reader with no special character
Depending on which I choose for reader will also change if silena is Gretchen or Karen
I’m gonna do a vote here if you wanna help me decide which works better
Also I need a character for Luke if anyone has ideas 😭
Some of these are more on how their characters fit in the story rather than their actual aesthetic and vibe if you get what I mean
Clarisse la rue as Regina George
Tumblr media
Silena as Gretchen
Tumblr media
Orr as Karen
Tumblr media
Percy Jackson as cady heron
Minus the becoming friends with Clarisse, she just skips straight to bullying
Tumblr media
Annabeth as Janice
Tumblr media
Grover as Damien
Tumblr media
Chris as Aaron
Tumblr media
Reader as karen
Tumblr media
Or as Cady
Tumblr media
Or as no specific character
Tumblr media
So depending on what type of character I decide to make reader some of the other aspects of the storyline will change.
If the reader isn’t a specific character then she’s still gonna be slightly Karen and Cady coded because she’s always gonna be a new girl and is kinda oblivious at first.
If reader is cady coded I think she should become friends with Percy, Annabeth and Grover and then they get her to do the whole make friends and take them down, but in the end instead of Clarisse trying to take reader down she just wants to make out with her 😭
And finally Karen coded reader would be where she’s the new girl, silena will be Gretchen and reader will basically slowly become the third person in their trio, and start dating Clarisse at the same time, and then she’s there while Clarisse goes at it with Percy.

As Intimate As Chocolate Cake
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sweet Pea x female!reader [2nd-person pov]
Word Count: 3.3k
Rating: T for swears; no warnings
Description: When Toni is put in charge of the new menu for the Whyte Wyrm, she decides to use the opportunity to set up two of her friends
A/N: Loosely based off a scene from Hart of Dixie season 4, episode 5: Bar-Be-Q Burritos, where George and Annabeth are set up on a date by their friend Lemon
Disclaimer: I’ve only seen up to parts of season 3 of Riverdale, therefore I know nothing about the current seasons and what has transpired, so there will be no spoilers. Also, this was written with minimal editing, so any errors are accidental. Gif credit to the owner, as it is not mine.
- - -
Cheryl Blossom walked into Pop’s, looking for Toni, but instead she found someone else.
Two someones, actually.
You’d been enjoying your strawberry malt and fries all by yourself when Sweet Pea had decided to join you without warning.
“Careful now - rumor has it if you drink too many strawberry milkshakes in one sitting, you’ll wake up as a strawberry.”
You couldn’t resist the urge to roll your eyes, dunking a pair of fries in the malt before bringing them to your lips. “Thank god this is a strawberry malt then, or I’d be fucked.”
He sat down in the booth across from you without asking, grabbing a fry before you could pull them away. “Milkshake, malt - same thing.”
“Nope,” you replied, popping the p. “Malts have malted milk powder; milkshakes do not.”
Sweet Pea pulled a face at that. “And why would you want that?!”
You shrugged. “Personal preference.”
“Weirdo.”
You looked up to give Sweet Pea a piece of your mind at that, but found him smiling instead. It was rare to see a smile from the Serpent, and seeing it made something that felt awfully like desire pool in your stomach. You ignored it, taking a sip of your malt while you gathered your thoughts. “Wow, a compliment? If I didn’t know any better, I’d think the world was ending.”
Sweet Pea snagged another fry, popping it into his mouth, the smile turning into a smirk. “Who knows? It might be.”
“Guess we’ll find out.”
Before you could respond to that, Cheryl interrupted. “Well, well, well. Fancy seeing the two of you here. And looking chummy, no doubt. What’s so funny?”
“The end of the world,” you quipped, causing Sweet Pea to snicker and you couldn’t help joining him.
“Haven’t you looked outside, Cheryl? Pigs are flying!”
Cheryl let out a huff, shaking her head. “Ignoring all that,” she said with a dismissive wave of her hand, “have either of you seen Toni? She said she would meet me here, but I can’t seem to find her.”
“Whyte Wyrm?” Sweet Pea supplied. “You know she’s been spending all her free time there ever since she became part owner.”
“I just didn’t think she’d get so caught up in it that she’d forget about date night!”
“Have you tried calling her?” You suggested, regretting it when Cheryl fixed you with a glare.
“Of course I’ve tried calling! She didn’t pick up and I-”
Just then, the door to the Chock’lit Shoppe opened, the bell signaling a new customer. The three of you turned to see Toni Topaz making her way over, pulling Cheryl in for a hug and a kiss. “Sorry I’m late,” she murmured. “Got a bit caught up reviewing the new menu for the Whyte Wyrm’s grand reopening.”
“You’re here now and that’s all that matters,” Cheryl said, her smile returning. “Ta-ta, you two. Don’t get too cozy over there.”
You and Sweet Pea burst into laughter once Cheryl and Toni were seated at the opposite end of Pop’s. “God, she can be so eccentric at times,” you giggled, shaking your head.
“I don’t know what Toni sees in her, but I’m glad the two of them have each other.”
“She sees in Cheryl what I have since elementary school: a girl with a lot of love to give who just needs someone to see her potential.”
Sweet Pea shot you a look as he grabbed another fry. “If you say so.”
“Hey, if I said the same thing about Toni, you’d be defending her, too. Cheryl’s my friend like Toni is yours - we go way back.”
“True.” You were almost taken aback when the Serpent agreed with you. He slid out of the booth before you could process what had just happened, but not before stealing a handful of fries off your plate. “Let me know when you’re here again - I can always get behind free fries.”
“In your dreams, Serpent!” You shouted at his retreating back, no malice in your voice at all.
- - -
“See what I mean?” Cheryl whispered to Toni, the two of them tucked away in their usual corner booth that surveyed the whole of Pop’s, splitting a milkshake. “There’s definitely something there.”
“Maybe,” Toni drawled, narrowing her eyes as she watched Sweet Pea duck his head and smile to himself when his back was turned from you. “I haven’t seen Sweet Pea look this smitten in a while.”
“Do you think they’d have a chance if we worked our matchmaking magic?”
“What is it you’re always saying? Sometimes the craziest ideas are the most brilliant ones?”
Cheryl smiled, leaning in to kiss Toni. “You’re absolutely right, Tonikins! Shall we start plotting now?”
- - -
“What’s up, Toni?” Sweet Pea growled into his phone, his frustration bleeding over from one phone call into the next. Fangs had been giving him shit for something and while he was glad to have Toni’s phone call as an excuse to hang up on his friend, he was still pissed.
“What’s up, Sweet Pea, is that I have the perfect solution to your dilemma.”
“What kind of solution?” He paused. “Wait. What’s my dilemma?”
“Nevermind that. Meet me for breakfast tomorrow morning so we can discuss.”
“Discuss what? I’m gonna need more details than that, T.”
Toni couldn’t help but let out a giggle. “All will be revealed tomorrow morning, Sweets. Riverdale Cafetorium at seven sharp - don’t be late!”
She hung up a moment later, leaving a stunned but obedient Sweet Pea in her wake.
- - -
“Cheryl? Is everything okay?” You asked when you answered Cheryl’s phone call. Before she’d met Toni, you and Cheryl spoke on the phone almost nightly; now she rarely called so you figured something had to be up.
“It will be. Meet me in the cafetorium tomorrow at seven?”
“Uh, sure? Why the phone call, though? You could’ve just texted.”
“Just wanted to hear your voice, YN. See you then!”
Nothing was said after that, the line going dead as Cheryl presumably hung up. “See you then,” you said into the void before going back to your nightly routine.
- - -
Toni and Cheryl were already seated at a table when you arrived, the two of them sharing a pastry as Sweet Pea looked on across from them.
“What’s he doing here?” You asked, unable to keep the harshness out of your voice. It was way too fucking early for this and you didn’t even have time for coffee.
“Calm down, dearie. Take a seat.” Cheryl was unusually perky but the tinge of obey me in her voice had you doing just that.
“Yeah, dearie. Take a seat,” Sweet Pea mimicked, and you couldn’t help shooting a glare in his direction. “But really, you two. What is it that was so urgent you couldn’t tell me over the phone last night?”
Toni sat up a little straighter, glancing at Cheryl briefly before she spoke, “Well, because Cheryl and I have a favor to ask. As you know, I’ve been stressing over the reopening of the Whyte Wyrm - particularly the menu - and I was hoping that as my friend,” she looked at Sweet Pea, “and my girlfriend’s best friend,” she looked at you, “that both of you would be willing to come over this weekend for a sample meal.”
“I knew she wanted something,” Sweet Pea leaned back, crossing his arms and muttering under his breath, and you couldn’t help but agree with that statement.
“Of course she did,” you said in the same tone before turning your attention back to Toni and Cheryl. “All you had to do was ask! Of course I will!”
“Me, too. But YN is right - next time just ask us. Not everything has to be a big scheme.”
His statement shocked you. The two of you hadn’t ever really agreed on much since Toni and Cheryl’s relationship had started, and now you were both agreeing with each other more than once in twenty-four hours? It was almost too much for you to handle. Sure, the two of you were polite and cordial with each other - for the most part - but lately it seemed to be getting out of hand.
“That’s really good advice, thank you,” Cheryl said, cutting in. “So, we’ll see you Saturday at eight? Oh, and dress real nice. Tonikins and I wanna see what the vibe could be like if we manage to bring in some fancier customers.”
And just like that, Cheryl and Toni stood up in unison just as the bell signaling first period rung, leaving both you and Sweet Pea stunned for the second time.
“Why do I feel like the scheming isn’t over yet?” Sweet Pea asked, turning to look at you.
Your eyes narrowed towards the doors where Cheryl and Toni had just exited. “Probably because it’s not…” Your voice trailed off as your gaze met his and you finally got a glimpse of his face up close and in broad daylight. A flash of his face from last night illuminated by the neon lights of Pop’s crossed your mind, specifically of him grinning as he popped a fry into his mouth. That same desire came flooding back and you knew you had to leave before you did something stupid and make a fool of yourself in front of the Serpent.
“See you Saturday at eight!” Sweet Pea called after you as he watched you walk away, wondering what the weekend had in store.
- - -
You sat in your car, putting the finishing touches on your lipstick and tugging at your dress one more time before taking a deep breath and getting out. After the ambush in the cafetorium by Cheryl and Toni, you’d spent more time than you cared to admit agonizing over your outfit, but in the end it was a no-brainer. You’d worn the dress you felt most confident in, pairing it with strappy heels and light makeup that accentuated your favorite facial features.
Seeing Sweet Pea all dressed up made you stop in your tracks. His version of ‘fancy’ was nice jeans and a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to expose his forearms. His Serpent neck tattoo was on full display, standing out against the stark white of his shirt.
“Hey,” he said, crossing his arms and drawing your attention back to them. “You ready for this?”
“I guess so. There was never really an opportunity to back out now, was there?”
“Those two make it very hard to say no, don’t they?”
You huffed out a laugh, shaking your head. “Don’t I know it.”
Before either of you could say any more, the door swung open and out stepped Cheryl, clad in her signature red. “There you two are! Come on in! Welcome to the new and improved Whyte Wyrm!”
“You look…nice, by the way,” Sweet Pea murmured as he held the door for you, letting you in first.
A shiver of need raced through you at the feeling of his eyes on your body. You paused, looking back at him and meeting his gaze. “Thanks. You, too.”
Your mouth was practically watering as Cheryl set down a filet mignon in front of you. “And this is our bourbon-maple glaze filet mignon.”
“This looks delicious,” you said, smiling at Cheryl. “Give my compliments to the chef.” Toni stood off to the side, the first time you’d ever really seen her look nervous about anything.
“I gotta say, everything has looked fantastic tonight, Toni, and I’m sure the Whyte Wyrm’s reopening is going to be a huge success,” Sweet Pea chimed in, surprising you. You hadn’t really ever heard him give anyone a compliment, but you figured if anyone deserved a compliment from Sweet Pea, it was Toni.
“Thank you,” Toni murmured, nodding stoically.
“Well, you both have exquisite taste buds and despite how much you both have grown and changed over the years, I knew I could count on you-”
“Okay, what is going on with you?” Sweet Pea asked, the two of you exchanging a suspicious look.
Toni laughed awkwardly, trying to drag Cheryl away.
“Yeah, what’s so funny?”
“It’s just that we’ve all known each other for so long…” Cheryl trailed off, realizing her mistake.
“I knew it!” Sweet Pea clapped his hands, more excited than you’d seen him while he was stealing your fries at Pop’s. “I knew it!”
“Knew what?” Toni asked, her turn to look suspicious.
“You and Cheryl are out here trying to get YN and I closer so we can be some weird, messed-up version of the Breakfast Club.”
You let out a groan, shaking your head. “Seriously? Cheryl, you know how I feel about you trying to set me up with people! I thought we agreed you were going to stop doing that after eighth grade.”
Sweet Pea crossed his arms and your attention diverted to his delicious forearms once again. “And that’s why we’re here…this is a scheme within a scheme,” he tutted, giving both Toni and Cheryl a reproachful look.
“Excuse us for wanting to try to get the two of you to see in each other what Cheryl and I see in both of you!”
“This is just like that time Toni and Cheryl left us in the woods for some fucked up bonding experience over our hatred of Weatherbee.”
“Or when they sent us on that futile mission to the abandoned Southside High and we had to hide in the janitor’s closet until they were able to get us out.” Sweet Pea glared at them. “The two of you can be so annoying.”
“So fucking annoying,” you agreed, seething as more memories popped up where you and Sweet Pea had been thrown into situations thanks to Toni and Cheryl’s scheming.
“Do either of you want dessert or not? Cuz if you keep whining, Cheryl and I will just eat it ourselves.”
That shut the two of you up and Toni nodded, satisfied. “Enjoy your filet mignon.”
“We’ll be here,” Sweet Pea said, finally getting a chance to cut into his steak.
“Oh, fuck this is good,” you couldn’t help groaning at the first bite. “I had my doubts about a bourbon maple glaze on steak but this is…wow.”
“Mm-hmm.” Sweet Pea’s hum of approval sent another foreign feeling racing through you.
You tried to think of another conversation topic, but all you could think of was yet another time you and Sweet Pea had been forced together by either Toni’s or Cheryl’s schemes.
Conversation flowed pretty easily after that, and neither of you paid any attention when Toni slipped in and cleared your plates while Cheryl served a single slice of chocolate cake between the two of you.
The cake was delicious, maple syrup infused into the icing, of course.
“Fuck, this chocolate cake…Wow. You’d think Toni would’ve splurged and given us two pieces,” Sweet Pea shook his head as he brought his fork in for another bite.
“I know,” you agreed, nodding. “It’s like you’re stealing my fries all over again.”
“Ha ha,” Sweet Pea deadpanned, making you giggle. “Doesn’t Cheryl have some weird, fucked up saying for this?”
His question took you by surprise, but you knew exactly what he was talking about, rattling off the phrase as if Cheryl herself was saying it. “It’s the most intimate thing two people can do other than…” You stopped short, your eyes widening as you realized the final word.
Your eyes met Sweet Pea’s, his expression mirroring yours as you both finished the word in unison.
“Sex.”
The sounds of your forks hitting the fancy china were the only sounds in the room as the two of you processed what had just happened.
“Are they…?” You started.
Sweet Pea finished. “Trying to set us up?” You nodded and he pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. “They better not be.”
“They’re really outdone themselves this time. It’s a goddamn scheme within a scheme within a scheme.”
“I mean, I just don’t understand why they think we would make a good couple. It’s so random and strange - no offense.”
You shrugged, truly unoffended even though you’d have been lying if you said you hadn’t been entertaining the idea all night. “None taken.”
“I’m still not convinced there isn’t more to this scheme.”
“God, I hope not,” you said, resisting the urge to run your hands over your face but you didn’t want to ruin your makeup. “There’s only so many schemes I can participate in during a year and I think I’ve already hit my limit.”
Sweet Pea looked around before leaning in, a smirk on his face. “What do you say we get out of here? We’re not technically dining and dashing because this was free, but I could definitely go for some fries and a chocolate milkshake.”
You didn’t have to be asked twice, dabbing your mouth with your napkin before pushing your chair back and heading out, Sweet Pea instinctively taking your hand in his as the two of you made a mad dash for Pop’s.
“Thanks,” the two of you said in unison as Pop Tate set your malt and Sweet Pea’s milkshake down in front of you, placing a large order of fries in the center of the table.
“I don’t know how I’m gonna be able to finish all these fries after the meal we’ve just had,” you said, eyeing the basket as you took a sip of your malt.
“I’m sure we’ll find a way if we sit here long enough.”
Your phone vibrated with an incoming text from Cheryl but you ignored it, turning your phone facedown on the table. Sweet Pea did the same and you couldn’t help feeling secretly thrilled that all his attention was now focused on you.
“So,” you started, picking up a fry, “Fancy a trip down memory lane?”
You didn’t think you’d ever seen the Serpent smile as much as he did tonight, and it was starting to affect you. Before tonight, you never would have thought twice about considering someone like Sweet Pea as boyfriend potential, but there was something about both Toni and Cheryl butting into your dating life to bring Sweet Pea in that was making you reconsider.
You reached for the last fry at the same time he did, your fingers brushing his. You recoiled as butterflies fluttered in your stomach, but it didn’t seem to affect him. “It’s all yours,” Sweet Pea said, gesturing to the solitary fry.
“You sure?” You hesitated. “We could split it.”
Sweet Pea shook his head. “Like I said, it’s yours.”
You couldn’t help the smile that bloomed on your lips as you dunked the last fry into the dregs of your malt. “Maybe there’s more to you than just a Southside Serpent.”
That made him chuckle and duck his head - and in that moment, he had never looked more attractive. “Well, maybe there’s more to you than just Cheryl’s sidekick.”
It was well past midnight when the two of you exited Pop’s, making your way to your separate vehicles.
You stalled at the door to your car, part of you not wanting the night to end. “I…had a lot of fun tonight.”
“Me, too.” Sweet Pea stepped closer and you sucked in a breath. “Maybe, we could do this again without Cheryl and Toni’s interference?”
“I’d like that. Are we counting this as a date?”
“I don’t know. Would you like it to count as a date?”
Not one to shy away from getting what you want, you decided to go for it. “Well, if you were planning to kiss me goodnight if this was a date, then yes, I would like tonight to count as a date.”
Sweet Pea towered over you, his eyes flickering between your eyes and mouth. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears as you stared up at him, waiting for him to make the first move. “I’d never turn down an opportunity to kiss a pretty girl goodnight.”
With that, your lips met in a tender kiss, the promise of something more lingering in the air when you finally pulled away. “Goodnight, YN,” Sweet Pea murmured, his thumb brushing over your cheek as he stepped back. “Get home safe.”
“Goodnight, Sweet Pea.”

There You Are: Rashes
Characters: George Weasley x reader
Summary: An incident in a potions class leads to a revelation. Sadly, the person who delivers the bombshell is not about to give him the information he so desperately craves.
Word Count: 1491 words
Tumblr media
When you found out who your soulmate was, you were going to kill them. This was not the first time Filch had accused you of something you certainly had no part in, but this was the first time you’d ended up in detention for it. Something about fireworks or firecrackers, it hadn’t been very clear what it was you’d allegedly done, but it was very apparent that it was stupid and dangerous. Great. Your soulmate was stupid and dangerous as well as not attracted to you.
Your stomach grumbled. At least a lunch time detention was shorter than an after school one, and you thanked Merlin for small mercies as you made your way to the Great Hall.
As you began to eat, your eyes scanned the room. Stupid, dangerous, explosions, who could that be? Seamus Finnigan was always blowing things up, Neville Longbottom had his fair share of mishaps, but surely if your soulmate was one of those two then you would have had more burns than this one.
George was rubbing his arm again with a frown. The burn was bothering him but the fact that Filch seemed to have given up the chase rather easily concerned him more. Maybe that old man was coming up with some crafty plan to catch them out, they would have to be more careful for a while.
“Knut for your thoughts.” Angelina smiled brightly as she sat down opposite the twins.
“That’s generous for one of Georgie boy’s thoughts.” Fred grinned, nudging his brother.
“Well, he’d best brush up on his conversation skills because I have a friend who was wondering if George would be going to Hogsmede next weekend.”
“A ‘friend’?” George raised an eyebrow, trying to hide his skepticism. “Lee’s been talking to you, hasn’t he.”
“Maybe, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know the perfect pairing for you.” Angelina beamed.
“I’ll think about it.” He answered rather grudgingly, knowing that was the best strategy to cut this conversation short. Getting to his feet, he slung his satchel over his shoulder and looked at his brother pointedly. “Potions.”
“You’re really in a rush to get to Snape’s class? Something must be wrong.” Fred rolled his eyes at Angelina as he joined his twin. As they traipsed out of the hall, George’s bag hit a few people still sitting at the table, one of which was you.
“Bloody Weasley.” You growled under your breath. “Think they own the place.”
“They are fit though.” Your friend Annabeth sighed as she watched the twins walk away.
“Fit for nothing.” You huffed, grabbing your things, ready to rush to transfigurations.
George’s mind really was wandering today. As much as he tried to focus on this potion, he kept catching a glimpse of that crescent shaped burn on his forearm and wondering if there was a matching one somewhere in the castle. He didn’t like the thought that something he had done hurt you, but the idea of whoever you were, looking at that mark, and knowing he existed made his heart flutter.
“Mr Weasley.” Snapes voice cut through his thoughts like a hot knife through butter. “Can you add the next ingredient?”
George looked from Snape to his brother and back again, before picking up a vial from the stand and emptying it into the cauldron. Too late he saw the professors eyes widen slightly and the potion began to bubble uncontrollably before blowing up over George. Luckily, he had raised his hands to prevent it going in his face, but the back of his hands and his neck began to itch as the purple liquid clung to his skin.
“CAREFUL!” Bellowed Snape, stepping through the crowd of students and handing George a cloth to wipe himself. “Reckless behaviour has consequences, Mr Weasley. Why on earth you would pour arum maculatum into a potion that already contains traces of aconitum napellus is beyond me. You are lucky you have only given yourself a nasty rash.” He frowned as he studied the blotches blooming across the boys skin. “Class dismissed. I have a healing potion to brew. Weasley, go to Madame Pomfrey then return here to collect the potion.”
George simply nodded sheepishly, not daring to irritate Snape more than he obviously was, in case he decided to slip something in this ‘healing’ potion of his.
Professor McGonagall was in the middle of a serious point when you let out a shriek, your hand raising to your neck as if you had been bitten. She turned to admonish you for your outburst when she spotted the rash on your hands.
“What happened, dear?” She asked as she moved closer, taking care not to touch you.
“I-I don’t know.” Your eyes grew wide as you stared at your hands as the blotches seemed to bloom.
“Get yourself to Madame Pomfrey, she will know what to do.”
The wonderful school nurse had indeed known what to do. She had liberally applied a soothing balm to your skin, which had taken some of the heat out of the rash. She then said that Professor Snape knew of a healing potion for what appeared to be a reaction to monkshood and lords and ladies, a mixture she had not seen in a long time. You had thanked her, pulled your sleeves over your hands, and headed off to find the irritable professor.
“Oi! Watch it!” Fred frowned as you shoulder barged past his brother as they headed into the infirmary.
“Ah, boys, what can I do for you two today?” Madame Pomfrey gave the twins an exasperated smile. Their antics often amused her, but she did worry about their safety.
“Just an incident in potions, no big deal.” Fred gave her his best winning smile and pushed his brother forwards.
“Yeah, erm, I’ve had some sort of reaction. Snape says he’s brewing me something, but I had to come here first.” George shrugged, rolling his sleeves up so she could get a good look at the rash.
Madame Pomfrey blinked slowly, her gaze darting to the door for a fraction of a second. The rash was identical to the one she had just treated, which could only mean…
“Am I expecting someone else to appear needing the same treatment? If so, then I’m going to need more soothing balm.”
“Nah, just me.” George gave her a sad smile before dipping his head.
“Well, I will keep my eye out, just in case.” She said kindly, reaching for the balm on the trolley, realising that the two of you had no idea you were soulmates. “Now, you need to leave this on for eight hours, and Professor Snape will give you a potion to counteract the monkshood and lords and ladies. You’re lucky this didn’t get in your eyes or mouth. I hope you boys will be more careful in future.” It was something she told the twins often, and although they never made the same mistake twice, it didn’t stop them making mistakes.
“Professor?” You knocked on the door as you popped your head into the potions classroom, surprised to see Snape already brewing something.
“Ah, what can I do for you?” His clipped words barely concealed his frustration at being interrupted, and you wondered if this was such a good idea.
“Madame Pomfrey sent me. She says you will know of a healing draft for a reaction to –“
“-arum maculatum and aconitum napellus.” He stated flatly as he took in the rash on your neck with curiosity.
“Yes.” You nodded, cautiously moving further into the classroom.
“This rash, is it on your hands and arms as well as your neck?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Interesting.” His enunciation of the word seemed to make it hang in the air, the only other sound was the bubbling of the potion. After a silence that seemed to stretch out for an eternity, Snape indicated for you to take a seat.
Luckily, the potion he was working on was the exact one you required, and in a matter of minutes he handed you a vial and instructed you to drink half before bed and the other half when you woke. It would take a day or two for the blotches to completely disappear, but they would fade and no longer itch. You thanked him and hurried on your way.
Five minutes passed, and the door to the classroom opened once again.
“Ah, Mr Weasley. You should have informed me that two batches were required.” Snape raised an eyebrow as he held out the vial.
“Two?” George frowned, looking at the singular potion.
“Two. One for you and one for your soulmate. May I suggest that you spare a thought for them the next time you attempt something so idiotic.” Snape swept past the twins, who, for once, were speechless.
“Soulmate?” George whispered, staring at the potion. He had a soulmate, and you were here in the castle! And Snape knew who you were!
