The saddest part of the big mayority of xenofiction being based on the UK is that it is just the example of the place with the greatest loss of biodiversity and ecological disaster. You can be sure that many of the animals that appear in these stories are either not from there or today are in danger of extinction.
Well, this actually goes for great part of europe

My preordered copy of All the Mammals of the World arrived today for shelving next to my copy of All the Birds of the World. Is good books, many species plates.
A side benefit of this is that if I'm having trouble coming up with a prompt when @sarahwithtea is doing quarterly sketch requests I can pair them with a random number generator to see if something worse than Norman (pelican-seal) will appear.

it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.

Some nature books I thoroughly enjoyed over the years! They are books that I would totally recommend if you want something about animals/nature.

Can you draw that snail? You know the one who got out of Grian's power and started to eat Gem's lighthouse?
