I love characters that tear themselves apart for something. I love characters that would willfully destroy themselves for their goal. Characters that have moved past the point of caring what happens to them because all that matters is this one goal and it’s fine if they’re destroyed or maimed or anything else because as long as they fulfill that goal they think they’ll be fine.

Even better if they gradually start to doubt this goal. What have I been pouring myself into this entire time? But by now they’re too far gone to stop so like clockwork they just keep walking towards this goal. They’ll constantly destroy themself for this one goal and they can’t change that fate no matter if they can recognize their original goal has been twisted beyond any recognition.

troy, jeff, and pierce embody the male equivalent of maiden, mother, crone. jeff sees in pierce the worst possible future for himself. troy idolizes jeff until the day he comes of age and becomes his own man. (for me mixology certification was the episode where the show overall started to feel heavier.) they start to compete on fronts of traditional masculinity, the younger encroaching on the elder's territory. pierce is the villain in season 2. in season 3 (what i've seen so far) it's jeff. the darkest timeline is when troy leaves to get the pizza. he's the best of them. the happiest timeline is when jeff leaves. he's the worst of them. i don't know where i'm going with this but basically... yeah.

the way victors always tried to protect each other because they are the only ones who know what they went through. the way haymitch fought to make sure they didn’t alter katniss’s body. how haymitch fought against finnick sharing his stories to protect him from the memories. how katniss was ready to mercy kill beetee when she thought they were taken by the capitol. how katniss made it a stipulation for the victors taken captive be given pardon no matter what. even enobaria. how peeta comforted the victor from 6 as she was dying. they all protected each other whatever way they could. because they were the only ones there for each other really

Sunday, December 31st: Happy New Year's eve everyone, I’m Gemma, a bi, mentally ill, and disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm struggling to pay off my debt, and get groceries for January!!!

I've tried to avoid making this post because I know the New Year is literally right around the corner, and especially after y'all helped me with my overdue rent, but I'm now back to square one and in need of aid to pay my overdue account, as well as getting groceries for January, which I am in dire need of!!!

I know this is a huge ask, and I'm completely heartbroken to keep asking for help, but I still need some as the welfare I received on Friday has all gone towards my bills and utilities, and has left me with next-to-nothing to pay off this or get groceries.

AND ANOTHER THING watching the show really feels like being a part of class e over the course of an entire year. whereas in most anime characters are developed through long and detailed flashbacks, here we see the vast majority of characters only within the context of school. we get to know them the same way we get to know our classmates in real life, little by little. at the end of the show, it's like we too are graduating and saying goodbye to them.

if you take out all the murder, the ending of assassination classroom is reflected in any student-teacher bond. no matter how close they become, there is always a ticking clock on the relationship. you only get one year with that teacher, with that class. the end of the year may as well be the end of the world. everything the students learn brings them closer to the point when they can leave the teacher behind. after graduation, the students will move on to their futures, armed with all the knowledge they've gained, but the teacher can't come with them.

there's a reason every episode's title has the word "time" in it. because the whole show is about the time class e gets to spend together, and the titles are a constant reminder that that time is limited.

the assassination of koro-sensei is class e's graduation. from that moment forward, the teacher, the class, and middle school itself, are no longer a part of their lives. it would seem the message is that nothing lasts forever. the sakura blossoms always fall, children always grow up, and the fun times always end.

One of the funniest things about enemies-to-lovers ships is how they’re almost always obsessed with each other. Like if a character actively chooses to interact with another character over and over again instead of simply ignoring them? Throw darts at it all you want, but you still printed out a picture of them to hang on your wall
