halloaa, i was the anon who asked for dottore as our father, and it was pretty cute! can i request something the same, where we were playing around in his lab then we accidentally turned into a cat after knocking a random chemical, how would our father (dottore) react? thank youuuuu!! (father dottore has been in my mind for a while now tehee)
Of course^^
Tumblr media
Cat-astrophe.
You didn't know exactly what happened. You were only playing a board game with the segments, your current caretakers, in the laboratory while your father is busy attending a meeting. Now here you are running away from the chaos Gamma, Theta and Beta had caused that you didn't see where you were running to.
This caused you to harshly bump into a nearby work desk, the vial placed on top of it fell over as the concoction poured itself over your head all the way to your small figure. A loud explosion occurred, smoke filling inside the room as you felt yourself becoming more smaller than usual when you noticed your surroundings got a bit bigger than what you remembered.
Your ears quickly caught the sound of multiple footsteps coming inside the laboratory as the voices of the other segments echoed inside the room and calling for your name. Theta and Beta kept calling out your name as they tried to find your tiny figure within the smoke, worried that you may have been caught in whatever the explosion was.
You tried to call out to the segments but all that escaped from your throat was a small mewl. Your eyes widened in surprise as you looked down at yourself only to see your hands and feet have become paws. You tried to move around when you accidentally stepped on a glass shard from a broken test tube, the glass sinking deep into your paw as blood started to spill, making you panic and cry for help.
"Is it just me or am I hearing a cat?"
"You're not the only one, besides no one is even allowed to bring a pet here without anyone's knowledge."
"I remember hearing something bump.. it could probably be (Y/n)?"
Omega let out an annoyed sigh as he turned on the ventilation system to get rid of the smoke. Once the smoke cleared up, the segments found a small kitten mewling on the floor. What caught their attention was the kitten's red eyes and its blue fur.
"....(Y/n)?"
The segments watched as the kitten mewled in response to the name, making them both shocked and surprised at what happened to their creator's child.
Gamma quickly walked up towards you and picked up your tiny form. He was both panicking and gushing at how cute you are as a feline.
"They're so tiny and their fur is so soft!"
"Don't just hog them all to yourself, let us see as well!"
You tried to get out of the segments' grasp since their hold on you was adding more pressure to your wound and sinking the shard even deeper than before, making you let out a hiss. You tried to tell the segments to stop and let you go but couldn't due to your current situation.
"What are you idiots doing? Why is the laboratory a mess?"
All the segments halted in their positions as their heads turned to see Dottore glaring at them from the doorway. Dottore raised a brow, usually when he comes back he would see you running up to him but now, you're nowhere to be found.
"Where is (Y/n)?"
The segments looked at one another, speaking telephatically to each other before pushing Gamma to the front.
"You see... little (Y/n) became a kitten."
"What."
Gamma held you out towards your father, you sat upon the segment's open palms. You looked at your father, happiness bubbling inside you knowing that he's here and knows how to turn you back, your tail subconsciously swishing back and forth. Dottore picked you up by the scruff of your neck as he inspected your feline form before letting out a sigh.
"I want this place cleaned up when I get back. Is that understood?"
"Yes!"
Dottore adjusted his hold on you so you were being carried between his palms instead. He brought you to his office before placing you down on his work desk as he sat down in front of you.
"Unfortunately, my child, you were doused with a cat transformation potion from one of my old concoctions. How fortunate for you, it wasn't the one that turns you into a worm. Not to worry, the effects will last within an hour or two."
Your father explained while you let out a small mewl in reply as you started to limp towards him. Dottore noticed the droplets of blood staining the papers on his desk as he quickly grabbed your neck and lifted you up to his eye level. He lightly poked and prodded at you, searching for the cause of your bleeding.
When Dottore held your injured paw, you immediately let out a hiss and without knowing it, you roughly bit down on your father's finger. Dottore bit the inside of his cheek, not bothered at all from the bite as he tried to calm you down by stroking your chin with his thumb. A small purr escaped from your throat as you pulled away from the bite to nuzzle to your father's touch.
While you were distracted, Dottore noticed the glass shard on your paw as he grabbed a tweezer from his drawers. Once he made sure you were calmed, your father held your forelimb as he pulled the shard away from your paw using his tweezers before placing a small bandage on your wound.
"Not in pain anymore, little one?"
You nodded in reply to your father's question. Feeling guilty for biting his finger, you nuzzled your head to the wounded finger.
"Ah, ah, ah... don't even try to lick my wound, child. Who knows if you have rabies."
Dottore teased with a grin as he booped your small nose before picking you up and placing you upon his lap so he can sign the documents given to him.
"You may rest if you wish, little one. The potion will wear off soon and you'll be back to your normal self."
Happy with the news, you settled against your father's lap, making yourself comfortable as you soon fell asleep. Dottore let out a small hum when he noticed you were already sleeping as he petted your head while signing the rest of his papers needed.

“Can you just fuck off?”
“What’s the matter, baby?” the guy said. This creep would not leave you alone. You’re just heading back to your apartment, and all of a sudden this creep decides it’s a good idea to follow you home. You should’ve never decided to take a walk. “You don’t want me? I thought we had a good thing going, shawty.”
“I told you to leave me alone. I’m not interested.” you were getting fed up now. Why can’t he just take the hint? You scoffed and tried walking away, but the creep grabbed your arm.
“Hey!” he said, turning you to face him. “Don’t be a bitch, I’m just trying to be nice.”
“What the hell is going on here?”
You and the creep turned to see a tall, dark-haired punk approach you two. He was wearing a black band tee with tattoos all up and down his muscular arms.
As the man approached you, the creep let go of your arm. “H-hey man, this isn’t any of your business.”
The tall stranger crossed his arms, towering over you two. “Actually, it is my business - seeing as you’re standing right in front of my building.”
You knew this guy, your friend pointed him out as someone in the neighborhood to avoid back when you first moved in. Miguel O’hara, a known delinquent on this secluded side of town. This must’ve been the apartment building he lived in.
“I’m gonna have to ask you to step away from this lady, or we’re gonna have problems, cabrón.” Miguel said, sizing up the much smaller man before him.
“Oh yeah? What kind of problems, tough guy?” the creep replied with confidence much bigger than him - an idiot move. Miguel grabbed the man by his shirt, pulling him close to his face.
“Get outta here, chico. I won’t ask again.” he snarled, getting all up in the guy’s face. The look in Miguel’s eyes was that of a lion, chasing a hyena away from its prey that it found first.
The creep, despite being so cocky earlier, seemed to have lost all his confidence. He pushed Miguel’s arms away and Miguel dropped him. He knew that the delinquent wasn’t messing around.
Miguel scowled. The guy who was harassing you ran away. You were in awe, you thought Miguel was a bad guy, so why did he just protect you?
He turned around to face you, his large frame intimidating. "You alright?"
You froze in silence, not sure what to say to him. He scoffed. "Giving me the silent treatment, huh? Some way to treat your savior, muñeca." Miguel crossed his arms.
"Sorry," you say, regaining your focus. "You, uh, you're Miguel, right?"
You had never been in this situation before. Never needed saving, especially not by someone with as bad a reputation as him. You weren’t quite sure if you should thank him, or if he'd even want that.
“Yeah, that’s me.” you would've thought that someone who just saved you would look a little happier to see you, but he just glared at you like you were a nuisance. Maybe you woke him up from a nap.
“You know, I don’t just do that for anyone.” he commented.
"I figured," you were just standing there awkwardly, not sure how to reply to his sharp tone. You couldn't tell if he was fishing for a “thank you” or not.
"So then why did you, uh, scare him away? You could've just left me to handle it." you couldn't hide your curiosity as to why Miguel protected you from that guy. You had never even met him before, but you knew he wasn't nice to most people… so why you?
"Just protecting a pretty girl, what's so surprising?" Miguel had a smirk on his face. He was definitely fishing for a compliment. He looked you up and down with a hint of flirtatiousness.
You noticed his not-so-subtle stare, and shifted to a more defensive stance. “Well, you don't seem the type to do such a thing. Your reputation doesn't exactly give the 'gentleman' vibe."
"Besides, this isn't the 1950's anymore, I'm not a damsel in distress." you add, gaining more snark as the conversation goes on.
"Oh, so you're assuming that I'm incapable of being nice, preciosa?" Miguel was getting just a little bit annoyed. Usually, most people were too intimidated by him to talk back, so he was taken aback that you weren't. "I don't care what my reputation is, I'm being nice to you because I feel like it." He stepped closer to you, sizing you up with his eyes once more.
"I didn't say you were incapable... it's just unexpected, that's all." The closer he got to you, the more you realized just how much he towered over you. You weren’t even short for a girl, but he was huge.
You lowered your defensiveness, trying not to pick a fight that you knew you couldn't win. "... thank you for that, I guess. It was kind."
"I didn't need it, though."
He rolled his eyes. “You’re lucky you’re hot.” a smirk crossed his face. “But that doesn’t mean this ‘nice guy’ act is gonna happen more than once.”
"It won't have to; I'm not gonna get into a situation like that again, so I doubt I'll need your heroics."
This time, it was your turn to cross your arms. "Besides, you haven't exactly been pleasant company. I don't need more than one interaction with you."
The look in his eyes told you that he took that as a challenge, that he wasn't about to back down. But he also didn't seem the type to overstep his boundaries. He was confident, not creepy.
"Oh, I'm not pleasant to be around? I'm not pleasant to look at either, right?" Miguel chuckled to himself.
"That's too bad- I could've saved you from the next creep that comes around, princesa." He liked messing with you, and seeing your feisty attitude come out. He was definitely trying to get you riled up.
"I didn't say you weren't pleasant to look at." you reply, standing a bit taller than before. He raised an eyebrow, flattered by the indirect compliment.
"I'm just saying that I wouldn't meet you again, if given the choice. Other than saving my ass back there, you've been pretty rude."
"Rude? Me? Never." Miguel feigned shock. "I wonder what's got you being so feisty today, mami.”
"You know nothing about me, this is normal." you say, picking up some confidence. "You're not getting any special treatment."
“Hmm… maybe I want some special treatment.” he leans in a bit closer to you, dropping his voice to a lower tone. You could see the devious spark in his eyes, something playful and challenging. He was testing you, to see how far you’d let him go before brushing him off. And you almost wanted to. But God, the way he looked at you made your stomach flutter in a way it hadn’t in a long time, not since your last ex. And even then, your last boyfriend wasn’t as wild as Miguel seemed to be.
“Some special treatment, huh?” you reply, matching his energy and leaning up towards him. Your faces were only inches away now. “And what exactly were you thinking?”
A large grin spreads across his face. “Why don’t you come inside, mami? I’ll show you.”
---
“Fuck… Miguel..!”
The sounds of his headboard banging against the wall was sure to disturb the neighbors, but he clearly didn’t give a shit.
“It’s… ‘s too much!” you were panting, arms held tight above your head with one of his large hands, while the other toyed with your clit. His legs separated yours, allowing him to pound into you at a punishing pace.
“Shh, bonita… I’m almost there… jus’ a little more, muñeca, un poquito más…”
You already came once, and you could feel your second orgasm approaching with every roll of his hips. He was desperately chasing his release, sweat causing his gorgeous hair to stick to his forehead.
You'd swear you were seeing stars. “M-Mig…” even with a condom, you could feel how hot and thick his cock was, practically begging to spill into your warmth.
Your back arched as your second peak came crashing over you, and the contractions from your cunt was enough to send him over the edge. As your legs shook, your head fell back - Miguel caught it before it hit against the headboard.
“Don’t worry, hermosa. I’ve got you.”

IOTA Reviews: Collusion and Revolution
Tumblr media
Well, the final confrontation with Lila was a bust, but maybe Chloe's swan song will be bett----HAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, I couldn't even finish that sentence without laughing.
Let's get into the twenty-second and twenty-third episodes of Miraculous Ladybug's fifth season: Collusion and Revolution
“Collusion” starts off with... oh, for God's sake... Gabriel monologuing to Emilie's body for the umpteenth time, only now, we see just how bad his Cataclysm wound has gotten, now making his entire hand black.
Tumblr media
Marinette and Adrien wake up and we get a pretty cute scene of them talking on the phone while getting ready for their respective days. Afterwards, Gabriel talks with Adrien about being sent to London, and is somehow aware that Adrien hasn't told Marinette yet. Even when Gabriel tries to use his ring to keep Adrien under his control, Adrien still shows signs of resistance.
Later at school, Chloe walks up to insult Marinette and Adrien as usual, but Marinette has a little rebuttal of her own.
Marinette: Be mean while you still can, Chloe. I'm gonna let you in on a secret. Remember your friend Lila who used to hurt everyone with her lies? See her anywhere in this classroom? No, because I put a stop to her nastiness and I'll do the same with you!
Yeah, and you were only able to do so because one of Lila's minions decided they didn't like being evil, and had no plan of your own prior to that.
It's revealed that not only is Lila (I'm not calling her Cerise to make things easier for myself) still in contact with Chloe through their Alliance rings, she also somehow got her own supervillain lair. How did she set up here, much less find the resources to do so? You guessed it, never explained!
And yeah, let's just get this out of the way. I hate what they're doing with Lila here. For reasons I'll get to in a later review, it's clear that there had to be some changes made so Lila remains a key player, even after the events of “Confrontation”, so they decided to make Lila manipulate Chloe as part of her plans. For a pair of episodes that are meant to show Chloe at her absolute worst, it devalues her status as a villain if she's just going to be used as a glorified attack dog for bigger threats like Lila. Remember, we've seen Chloe come up with her own plans before (Mr. Pigeon, Dark Cupid, Darkblade, Kung Food, Antibug, Despair Bear, Zombizou, Frightningale, Queen Wasp, Queen Banana, Gabriel Agreste, Penalteam, Determination, Derision), and we know she's not a complete idiot. She doesn't need Lila to hold her hand and tell her what to do to get what she wants. I get that it's supposed to be ironic that Chloe, for all her bluster, is ultimately a pawn in a larger scheme, but it just doesn't gel with the whole “irredeemable monster” stuff the show has been going with whenever Chloe has been on screen for the past two seasons. You could easily take Lila out of these episodes and not much would really change.
During class, Chloe makes a scene by blasting some music and dancing on her desk, and we get what has to be the most unrealistic thing this entire show has done for the past five seasons: Assuming kids still care about school when the year is almost over.
Rose: Chloe, quit it! We wanna hear the lesson, we care!
When Ms. Bustier tries to send Chloe to the principal's office, Chloe calls Ms. Mendeleiev (who is the new principal after Mr. Damocles resigned), and essentially forces her to change the rules to music is allowed. After Chloe taunts Ivan, just as Marinette tries to stop Ivan from hurting her, she uses the opportunity to frame Marinette for hitting her. Oh, sorry. I mean Lila uses the opportunity to tell Chloe to frame Marinette for hitting her.
In the principal's office, Ms. Bustier tries to reason with Chloe by showing her the present she got her all the way back in Season 2's “Zombizou”.
Ms. Bustier: Chloe, do you remember this gift you gave me on my birthday? To me, that is proof that you're a fragile teenager who doesn't know love and is simply looking for attention. And... we all tried to help you. So, please, whatever it is you want, ask yourself if it's worth all the suffering you're causing.
Chloe: Did you hear that? A homeroom teacher using a student's feelings to blackmail her. This is inappropriate, utterly inappropriate! My father, the mayor, would never tolerate this in a school.
Remember kids, FUCK showing compassion to your enemies! Everyone knows Gandhi was a loser anyway.
The negative emotions attract an Akuma to Ms. Bustier, but she manages to resist Monarch's influence for now. Monarch transforms back into Gabriel, who has a meeting with Tomoe and Andre to discuss the state of Paris' law enforcement.
Tomoe: Your policemen mostly get paid for doing nothing. It seems that Ladybug and Cat Noir are the ones who have been enforcing the law in Paris the last few months, wouldn't you agree?
Because I guess Ladybug and Cat Noir have also been stopping drug rings off-screen or something.
Chloe storms into the office, and even though Lila has no idea what's going on, she tells Chloe to record the conversation. Once again, Lila has to tell Chloe just how to be mean and selfish while she chews out Andre, and that if she was the mayor, she'd ban superheroes, right before Chloe learns Adrien is going to London next year.
After a scene that's only there to remind the audience that Adrien hasn't told Marinette about London yet, we see Gabriel talking with Andre about replacing Paris' police force with robots... even though this should really be more a discussion for the commissioner. I guess the writers didn't have enough money for a commissioner model because they had to allocate resources for Ms. Bustier's baby bump.
Andre: Seriously, Gabriel, what's this whole police robot idea all about?
Gabriel: Have I ever offered a single bad idea to you, Andre? We've always helped each other, haven't we?
Andre: Remember when we were young and penniless? When Emilie, you and I would make the world right from our little attic room? You made me my very first suit so I'd feel confident and Audrey, whom I'd fallen in love with, would finally notice me? Don't you think we were much happier back then? That our lives were more beautiful, more fair?
Gabriel: Come on, you have everything to be happy, Andre. Your wife, your daughter, Paris City Hall...
Andre: A woman who barely respects me, a selfish, heartless daughter, and a City Hall that I never wanted. I only got into politics like dad to impress Audrey, you know that.
Gabriel: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Andre: Look at me, Gabe. All my life I've lied, I've cheated and I've abused my power. I used to be a dreamer, an artist, I wanted to make movies! Now I've become a tyrant in servitude to my family and friends...
Aw, poor baby. Did someone condition their daughter to develop an entitlement complex while refusing to divorce your abusive wife?
I'm sorry, but I don't feel bad for Andre at all here. While I'm happy to see that the show is trying to teach kids that male mental health is important too, it doesn't really earn him a lot of sympathy considering a lot of this is his own fault. Sure, we don't know what Audrey was like when they were younger, and she could have gotten worse as time went on, but considering how rich he is coupled with the fact that Audrey spends most of her time in New York, he doesn't really have much of an excuse to not divorce her. As for Chloe, he has even less of an excuse, since he was responsible for her upbringing. He spoiled her rotten, he refused to properly discipline her, and he failed to teach her the slightest bit of humility. I'm willing to accept that Chloe is a lost cause by the show's standards, but I can't accept the fact that Andre had nothing to do with how she turned out. He's as much of a failure as a parent as Gabriel is.
As Lila somehow finds where the two are talking so she can overhear their conversation, Gabriel secretly records Andre, altering what he says to make him look bad. While I can't exactly describe it through text, this clip from The Simpsons should summarize it.
youtube
Ms. Bustier sees the video of Andre, and this time, she fails to resist an Akuma, turning into Wonder Woman—I mean, Miss Sans-Culotte.
Tumblr media
Miss Sans-Culotte has a okay design. I like how it's meant to have a more patriotic theme with the color scheme, and the fact that it's based off some of the people in the French Revolution, aptly named the Sans-Culotte, is a nice way to teach kids about history. The problems I have are the golden armor, which goes against the fact that was previously mentioned in this very episode that the Sans-Culotte wore more simple clothing. That, and the guillotine blade for a weapon, which gives off some uncomfortable implications. The Miraculous power this time involves the Pig Miraculous' Gift, which somehow allows her to transform anyone her blade touches into balloons... even though the Pig never had that ability, and we saw what it really did just earlier this season (Jubilation).
Right when it seems like Adrien is about to tell Marinette about London, the two learn about Miss Sans-Culotte, and split up to transform into Cat Noir and Ladybug respectively. Meanwhile, Chloe hears the news about Andre before getting a call from Gabriel, who offers to “give her Andre's power”. Even though Chloe always uses her dad's power to get what she wants, she literally has to be told to accept the offer from Lila because she didn't think of the political ramifications. You see what I mean about Lila adding nothing to this episode? It'd be like if Thanos kept in contact with someone who had to tell him how to get the Infinity Stones at every step. As for Gabriel, I'll talk about his plan next episode.
Ladybug and Cat Noir confront Miss Sans-Culotte, demanding to know what she's doing.
Ladybug: Terror isn't a solution!
Cat Noir: There are elections to make your voice heard.
Miss Sans-Culotte: Or a revolution when everyone is corrupt. Nothing can stop freedom!
Because it's not like the video of Andre confessing to abusing his power, tampered or not, is an open and shut impeachment case, right?
Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm and gets a crown. After focusing on Miss Sans-Culotte and City Hall, she gets an idea.
Ladybug: Mayor Bourgeois is acting like the king of Paris, and maybe he should be removed from office after all.
Cat Noir: Are you saying we should give this villain free reign?
Ladybug: I don't know... I feel like that's what the Lucky Charm means. You're right, it's not up to us to decide who gets to be the mayor and who doesn't. An akumatized villain just needs to be deakumatized.
youtube
Yeah, remember how Ladybug said it was too risky to forge a temporary alliance with Matagi Gozen in order to stop the person who stole almost every Miraculous she had last season? Well now, she's saying they should essentially let this Akuma force the sitting Mayor of Paris out of power, which is all kinds of illegal. Now this might just be because I'm not French, and don't understand how politics work over there, but here in America, the last time some people stormed a major government establishment to protest a fair election, they were seen as fucking lunatics.
Tumblr media
Zoe tries to reason with Miss Sans-Culotte, but she's still in favor of using that guillotine blade in ways that don't involve balloons. They try to reason with her and convince her to reason with Andre... right as Andre is about to resign himself, so this whole conflict was pointless. Still glad to know Ladybug and Cat Noir are now willing to let Akumas use their powers to get what they want when that was almost always seen as taboo.
Miss Sans-Culotte once again rejects the Akuma with ease, Ladybug uses Miraculous Ladybug to fix the damage... only to be cornered by several police robots, and ones that look really stupid at that.
Tumblr media
Remember, Gabriel and Tomoe wanted taxpayers to pay for these.
Yeah, somehow, the Lucky Charm was actually meant for Chloe, because, well...
Cat Noir: A crown for the queen of brats, of course!
What, did calling her the literal Antichrist not do well with test audiences?
Yeah, this makes no goddamn sense. Why was the Lucky Charm prioritizing Chloe of all people instead of the Akuma as usual? What was Ladybug even supposed to do here? Yeah, she really should have stopped Miss Sans-Culotte, but was she expected to know about the police robots or something?
Chloe tells the press that Ladybug and Cat Noir helped an Akuma force the current mayor out of office. This is all part of Gabriel and Tomoe's plan, but once again, she's not wrong. The two still helped a dangerous supervillain force a major political shift, and the resulting power vacuum that allowed Chloe to rise to power is really their fault. After Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm to free himself and Ladybug from the nets the robots used to trap them with, we get the start of a running gag where Chloe struggles to say the word “democratic”, because remember, she's blonde, and therefore stupid. This happens several times across both episodes, and none of them are actually funny.
The episode ends with Chloe unlawfully taking control of Paris as the new mayor, which is totally different from Miss Sans-Culotte unlawfully forcing Andre to resign. The last time I saw double standards this blatant, I was watching RWBY.
THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THE EPISODE IS... CHLOE
Tumblr media
If there's one thing I love about my irredeemable villains, it's that they're so stupid, it's impossible to take them seriously. Not only did Chloe need Lila to hold her hand through every major decision she made throughout this episode (and by extension, the next), she failed to understand her dad's political career falling apart and needed to be told to take an opportunity to own an army of advanced robots, and couldn't even say the word “democratic”, which isn't that hard of a word to say even if you're borderline illiterate.
“Revolution” starts off with Chloe essentially declaring martial law in Paris for the time being. Once again, Cat Noir says the sane thing for once and suggests they go and beat up Chloe themselves. Well, I say that, but somehow, Cat Noir contradicts himself in his very next line.
Cat Noir: We can't let Chloe make up the rules.
Ladybug: If she were akumatized, it'd be easy. Find the object, break it, de-evilize her.
Cat Noir: But there is no object, and we can't attack someone who isn't akumatized, or we'd look like the supervillains.
I think you forgot something, guys...
THE ENTIRE FUCKING REASON SHE'S MAKING THE RULES IN THE FIRST PLACE IS BECAUSE YOU HELPED A SUPERVILLAIN IN THE LAST EPISODE! HOW DID YOU FORGET THIS VITAL INFORMATION?!
youtube
What the hell is with the sudden change of pace? They were willing to let Miss Sans-Culotte have her way by making Andre resign, so why can't they stop Chloe when she's already taken over Paris by force? I don't think you'd really look like supervillains if you stopped a tyrant instead of a democratically elected mayor. All you need to do is stop Chloe from controlling the robots, and you're golden.
In fact, where the hell is the rest of the Parisian government during all this, much less the French government? Why aren't they doing anything about this? We don't even get a throwaway line that explains it like Chloe bribed some politicians to keep quiet about the whole thing. Instead, despite an obvious violation of democratic rights, nobody outside of Paris is even bothering to stop this.
After a brief scene where some citizens are interviewed about Chloe, we see Adrien once again angsting about going to London. Like what Lila did with Chloe last episode, Plagg has to outright tell Adrien to talk to Marinette about this, because I guess this show has a really low opinion on the intelligence of people with blond hair. Also, good to know that even though Chloe is currently ruling over the city with an iron fist, she's still allowing air traffic to flow normally. Good thing too, as it's almost tourist season. Adrien tries to tell Marinette through a call, but she talks to him about Chloe, and how they can protest her regime.
Meanwhile, at City Hall, Chloe has already gone mad with power, as she orders her new box robots around, while Gabriel calls her to praise her for how she's been doing. Afterwards, Gabriel transforms into Monarch and absorbs the powers from a few Kwamis before Voyaging to City Hall. Chloe orders her robots to arrest Monarch, unaware than Tomoe is the one actually controlling them, only for Monarch to offer a deal... which Lila once again has to tell Chloe to listen to even though Chloe has worked with him in the past. Monarch offers to akumatize Chloe in a way that makes it look like she's not working for him. She accepts, and becomes Queen Mayor.
Tumblr media
Queen Mayor's design is pretty simple, but I guess it works for the plan. It's just Chloe in an admittedly nice-looking jacket. Not sure if she can actually take it off like her other clothes or not, though. As for the Miraculous powers, Monarch transfers five of them to her robots, the Turtle Miraculous' Shelter, the Horse Miraculous' Voyage, the Ox Miraculous' Resistance, the Bee Miraculous' Venom, and the Rooster Miraculous' Sublimation, which gives her an unclear power. Given what she subjects her victims to later on, I guess it's the torture chamber she creates? I also don't get how the robots are capable of using the Miraculous powers when earlier episodes established you needed to have multiple Alliance rings to use them (Transmission, Pretension).
But now's as good a time as any to discuss Gabriel and Tomoe's plan, and why is makes absolutely no sense. In case you got confused, here's a quick summary: Tomoe created an army of robots designed to replace the police, and when Andre refused to use them, Gabriel recorded a private conversation so he could edit it, then transform into Monarch to akumatize someone and hope Ladybug and Cat Noir would let her force Andre to resign, then talk to Chloe about taking over as mayor, hope she says yes while Ladybug and Cat Noir do nothing to stop her, then pretend to give her control over Tomoe's robots before akumatizing Chloe so she can actually control the robots, all while praying that Chloe doesn't find out the truth, much the government doesn't get involved with this.
Gabriel and Tomoe did all of this instead of just, you know, akumatizing Chloe like usual. If the plan was to akumatize her all along while making it look like she's not akumatized, why didn't Gabriel just do that from the start as soon as Andre resigned and Miss Sans-Culotte rejected her Akuma? Also, why the hell is Chloe so crucial to the plan anyway? Yeah, they plan to throw her under the bus once they win, but wouldn't it make more sense if Tomoe, the one whose company made the robots, was the one who took over as Mayor?
It feels like the show is trying to recreate the plan from “Miracle Queen” where Chloe teams up with Monarch, but that plan at least made sense, as Chloe was crucial because of her connection to Ladybug. Here, it just feels like the writers needed an excuse to actually make Chloe a threat, but just like when Felix gave Gabriel all of the other Miraculous last season, it's forced. I'm not really seeing Chloe as a threat when she needed Gabriel to hand her the keys to an army of robots, and I don't care if that's the point. If the show wants us to take Chloe seriously as a villain, it needs her actions to speak for themselves instead of turning her into a glorified attack dog for Gabriel, Tomoe, and even Lila to an extent.
But here's my biggest problem with this plan. Consider the fact that Gabriel put Chloe in a major political position, presumably in order to bank on the fact that Ladybug and Cat Noir wouldn't use their powers to beat up a civilian. Gabriel then transformed into Monarch and akumatized Chloe into a form that would make it look like nobody would even tell she was akumatized in the first place. So let me ask this: If Gabriel's plan involves making it look like Chloe isn't akumatized, how is this going to actually attract Ladybug and Cat Noir so you can get their Miraculous?!
Yeah, Ladybug and Cat Noir eventually decide to fight Chloe anyway, but they don't learn she's akumatized until she blurts it out, and that's well into their fight. The plan is to turn the local government against Ladybug and Cat Noir and discredit in a way that prevents them from taking action against an obvious threat, but that just doesn't gel with Monarch's goal of getting their Miraculous. Did Gabriel and Tomoe assume that Ladybug and Cat Noir would just have no qualms with presumably beating up a civilian? If so, why even bother hiding the fact that Chloe was akumatized? This is a problem the plan faces no matter who the mayor is. Hell, if anything, it would be better if Chloe was akumatized from the start, as no matter how long she hides it for, she still has control over an army of robots armed with Miraculous powers, which wouldn't decrease the threat she poses in the slightest. This isn't even the first time an Akuma has hijacked the position of mayor (Rogercop), so it's even less excusable!
The next day, the students stage a protest at their school to get Ms. Bustier her job back, where Chloe (I'm calling her that instead because nobody else calls her Queen Mayor) questions why they're using their right to protest. She also plans to tell Marinette that Adrien is moving to London (something Gabriel told her earlier), but once again, Lila tells her not to. Also, you want to know how stupid the whole “Chloe can't say the word 'democracy' right” gag is? In the same scene where she struggles to say the D-word, Chloe uses the words “Libertarian”, “negative”, and “influence” correctly. It's hard to really buy Chloe as this illiterate moron while you still have her use words like this.
We get what can barely be considered a montage of Chloe abusing her power, but it's only like, three scenes before the plot kicks back in. We get a scene of Chloe screwing around in a private one-on-one class, an admittedly funny bit where she had a golden statue of herself commissioned to rest on the Arc de Triomphe, and then a scene where she shows Andre the ice cream man just how unfair her rule is.
Chloe: Did you pay the permit fee to sell your ice cream?!
Ice Cream Man Andre: I don't need a permit to sell love in Paris!
Chloe: Well, now you do! Otherwise, you'll end up in detention!
I mean, she reasonably calls out Andre for not having a permit to sell ice cream. How... evil of her?
Marinette goes back to her place, only to learn Chloe abducted her parents and placed them in “detention”, before doing the same to her thanks to one of her robots using a combination of Venom and Voyage. We do get an admittedly decent scene of Chloe threatening to tell Marinette about Adrien moving if Adrien doesn't become her deputy mayor, only for Adrien to vow to tell Marinette himself... even though he kept trying to tell her earlier in the episode, so this moment feels a little hollow. But hey, it's not like the finale will make this scene seem even worse in retrospect, right?
Adrien is sent to detention, a torture chamber where footage of Chloe mentally conditions the prisoners into believing that they're ridiculous or that they can always count on her, all while the prisoners are told to find a chair in an endless maze. Again, another decent visual I'll give the episode credit for. After Adrien, Marinette, and Alya escape detention, the former two transform into Cat Noir and Ladybug respectively and get ready to finally do something about Chloe.
Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm, a bikini bottom, and gets ready to stop Chloe alongside Cat Noir. Okay, Chloe has an army of robots on her side alongside the public's favor, so they'll need to come up with a really clever plan in order to—they're just going in guns blazing even though that's a terrible plan in a situation like this. Unsurprisingly, the two heroes immediately get trapped by a combination of Shelter and Resistance, nullifying the Lucky Charm and Cataclysm. Only now do they figure out Monarch is behind this, even though both of them saw the robots use Venom and Voyage to send them to detention, yet when Chloe actually says it, Ladybug is still shocked by this.
As Ladybug and Cat Noir start to detransform, they encourage the public to take action once they lose their Miraculous, even though Monarch will have won by then. As they do this, somehow, they stop detransforming until they manage to recharge their Miraculous by the power of because the plot says so. How did they do this?
Gabriel: I am an adult! Not transforming back is a power belonging to grown-ups!
Nooroo: I guess they must have grown up, Master.
Yes. Seriously. Even though there's been nothing else to signify that Ladybug and Cat Noir have matured this season, they now have the full power of their Miraculous at their disposal because now, they're adults. If you have to tell the audience that your characters have developed, then you've done a poor job at writing character development. Ms. Bustier takes the sash containing Chloe's Akuma while Cat Noir uses multiple Cataclysms to destroy the rest of her robots.
Ladybug de-evilizes the Akuma, oddly enough, doesn't use Miraculous Ladybug to fix the damage, doesn't give Chloe a useless Magical Charm because Andre says he's going to “correct his own errors”, and after being convinced by her students, Ms. Bustier decides to run for mayor.
We then cut to a private jet where Audrey is chewing her daughter out for failing, even though she supported her earlier when she was mayor. Yeah, you know how it seemed like Andre was finally going to properly discipline his daughter. Dream on! Instead, he just decided to send her away with Audrey, someone who he knows is a terrible person, and lets her deal with Chloe in a way that heavily implies she's going to put Chloe through hell when she isn't at school.
Audrey: Because of you, we've lost face! You've ruined our name and our reputation! You had all the powers in your hands and you foolishly lost them! Bourgeois do not raise losers. You think you're going to London on vacation? Dream on! I'm going to take control of your life again, starting with your education.
This is seriously meant to be an appropriate punishment for Chloe while Andre gets absolutely no consequences for being responsible for his daughter turning out the way she did. I have only one thing to ask.
WHAT THE FUCK, ASTRUC?!
How the fuck did anyone involved with this show think any of this was okay?! How did Andre think this was okay when in the previous episode, he pointed out how awful Audrey was?! Why the fuckare both Andre and Audrey, the two people who helped make Chloe the person she is, getting away scot-free while Chloe gets condemned for everything?! Why the fuck are we supposed to be happy Audrey is diciplining Chloe when we know she's worse than she is?! WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE OKAY TO GREENLIGHT?!
I can either interpret this scene in two ways.
The first way is that, like he's said for a few years now, Astruc still doesn't see this as child abuse, and that Chloe is being punished like any other misbehaving child is.
Tumblr media
THIS IS WHAT THOMAS ASTRUC ACTUALLY BELIEVES.
The second way, and I consider this to be the worse option, is that Astruc's team is fully aware that this now qualifies as child abuse, and that Chloe deserves this treatment. Put aside the fact that a common mentality of abusive parents is that they believe they're helping their children by “toughing them up”, this is still a demented way to punish any character, no matter how bad they are.
“But IOTA! Chloe needs to be punished for what she did!” Yeah, she does, but not like this. Hell, you don't need to do a lot to change the ending and avoid the harmful implications. Just have Andre be the one to move out of Paris with Chloe with the intent to send her to boarding school. Also, rather than say he's “going to take control of Chloe's life again”, have him explain that while he still loves Chloe, he isn't mayor anymore, so she can't use his name to get out of trouble, meaning that like it or not, Chloe will have to grow out of her bratty attitude or else she'll get in even more trouble. That way, we see Andre actually taking responsibility for how bad of a parent he was, Chloe realizes her old tricks won't work anymore while the door is open for a redemption should you choose to bring her back next season, and most importantly, there's no implications of child abuse here.
But believe it or not, things were even worse for these episodes initially. As detailed in the Season 5 scripts, there was originally a scene in “Collusion” where Andre used his powers as mayor to divorce Audrey and steal custody of Zoe while leaving her to deal with Chloe herself, officially joining Jagged Stone in the Rich Deadbeat Dads Club.
Tumblr media
And Astruc wasn't even aware it was taken out, not being told this until he found out on Twitter.
Tumblr media
Because somehow, he considered Andre walking out on his family and leaving his biological daughter in the hands of an abusive bitch crucial to the story.
And do you want to know the worst part? No matter how you view this scene, either way, it's portrayed as Chloe getting punished, but the next scene plays Gabriel abusing Adrien straight, ordering him to pack his things as he'll be heading to London that night. The show literally can't make up its mind on whether child abuse is bad or not. Why is it okay for Chloe to be mistreated by her parents while we're supposed to sympathize with Adrien? No matter who the victim is, CHILD ABUSE IS STILL CHILD ABUSE.
I don't care how bad Chloe is, child abuse is NEVER justifiable, and it's disgusting that the show seems to take that stance, whether they intended to or not.
Let's just get the last few minutes out of the way so I can end this. Adrien is forced to pack for London, Nathalie does nothing to stop Gabriel from doing this, Lila steals one of Tomoe's computers, Gabriel tells Tomoe about keeping Adrien and Kagami safe in London while they execute “Operation: Perfect Alliance”, Marinette and Adrien have their first kiss for the third time in five seasons, Chloe calls Marinette to tell her about Adrien, but Marinette tells her to piss off, and Chloe ends the episode crying because Astruc thinks she deserves to suffer. THERE. I'M DONE.
THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THE EPISODE IS... GABRIEL
Tumblr media
Gabriel joins Marinette in earning the Biggest Idiot Award for the third time this season. He had no reason to include Chloe in his stupid plan, he was essentially banking on Ladybug and Cat Noir choosing to do nothing, and tried to create a scenario were Ladybug and Cat Noir wouldn't be able to lose their Miraculous. At least you could argue that Ladybug and Cat Noir needed to stay on the down low at first. Gabriel doesn't get that excuse.
These episodes sucked, but I honestly thought they were slightly better than the last two.
Yeah, all joking aside, I thought these episodes had more positives to them than “Revelation” and “Confrontation”. Where those two episodes were insulting and confusing respectively, these two episodes were the kind of bad I've come to expect from the show. There's plotholes, bad morals, and characters acting like idiots, but it's par for the course. I was far from a fan of these two episodes, but other than the ending of “Revolution”, I was nowhere near as angry I was with “Revelation” and “Confrontation”.
Surprisingly, I was more upset rewatching “Collusion” than I did “Revolution”. Yeah, “Revolution” was bad, but at least Chloe was supposed to be a bad example of how lead a city, unlike what Andre and Ms. Bustier were doing. Those characters both taught bad morals, intentional or not, and just like Ladybug and Cat Noir, were never called out for unintentionally leading to Chloe's rise to power. With Andre, we were supposed to just be expected to be okay with all the times he abused his power as mayor while cheering when he quit with no negative repercussions, and with Ms. Bustier, we were supposed to be okay with her attempting to stage a violent coup against Andre, the character the episode is already trying to make us sympathize with.
Between these two characters, along with Sabrina and Felix, the show really loves operating on the “There's Always a Bigger Fish” rule. It doesn't matter how many bad things you do, if someone else is pulling the strings, you won't get in trouble at all... unless you're Chloe, so, in that case, BURN IN HELL. Like I mentioned earlier, you can acknowledge someone only did bad things because they were pressured to while saying they should at least be held accountable for their actions in some way that doesn't involve kicking them out of the country.
The moral of when it's okay to use violence was pretty confusing, and not just because this is a superhero show where almost every problem is solved by fighting it. Ladybug tries to convince Miss Sans-Culotte that political conflicts shouldn't be solved with violence, but even if she didn't convince her to change her mind, Andre was already ready to resign as mayor, and Miss Sans-Culotte still angrily demanded he resign in a way that sounded like a violent threat. There's also the fact that despite saying that violence isn't always the answer, the conflict that was sort of resolved with no violence ended up making things worse as Chloe was able to seize power once Andre resigned.
Also, it's pretty funny how absolutely nobody ever tried to reason with Chloe after she became mayor, not even Ms. Bustier. In that case, violence was obviously the answer, but the show never really tells us what makes Miss Sans-Culotte better than Chloe. You can't teach an anti-violence moral in one episode and then lead into an episode where violence solves the problem instead of diplomacy. And I'm not one of those saints who believes that every conflict should be handled nonviolently. Sometimes, people won't listen to words, but will at least hear you out if you use your fists. I'd personally argue the conflict of “Revolution” would have worked if had this kind of lesson. Just have Ladybug and Cat Noir tried to solve things with Chloe diplomatically during the first act, only to realize that Chloe won't budge, so they have no choice but to take her out of power themselves. It'd make a hell of a lot more sense than having Marinette and Adrien do nothing while Chloe makes everyone's life miserable because the writers need to pad the runtime.
I already mentioned this, but for an episode that tries to show how awful Chloe is, she barely does anything on her own. She needs Lila to tell her to go along with Gabriel's plan, she needs Gabriel and Tomoe to pretend to give her an army of robots, and she needs Monarch to akumatize her to make the robots even more dangerous. If you need another character to do something to make Chloe a threat, why should we only see Chloe as the threat? These two episodes keep going back and forth on whether Chloe is the worst or not. When they're not showing her taking control of Paris on her own like should be doing, the writers take the time to remind the audience that Lila and Gabriel are pulling Chloe around by telling her what to do, all while they each muse about how this is all going according to keikaku. If you want to make Chloe a threat and have her live up to her reputation as a terrible human being, she should actually have agency and should be cunning enough to be a dangerous villain in her own right.
Unlike with “Confrontation”, which gave more focus to side characters for some reason, “Revolution” actually focused on the main characters and their conflict with Chloe, like we should have gotten with Lila. Yeah, Ladybug and Cat Noir wait far too long to stop her, but unlike with Lila last episode, they at least had a semblance of a reason for hesitating to beat up a civilian. Either way, it felt like an obstacle that Ladybug and Cat Noir actually overcame together instead of someone else helping them out at the last second. Yeah, the Miraculous boost was a glorified deus ex machina, but it was at least a thing established in the show since Season 3.
Even the stuff with Chloe actually felt like stuff she would do, unlike in Season 4, which tried to give her an interest in bananas and soccer for the sake of giving her screentime as a villain (Queen Banana, Penalteam). When Chloe had free reign of the city, she actually did stuff on her own that was clever, like the detention setup. We really needed more of this Chloe for the past two seasons if the writers wanted to make her work as a villain, yet they waited until the end of the fifth season to actually do something interesting, and that was after she was told what to do for most of the episode.
And then there's how the conflict was resolved. It's really hard to buy Ladybug and Cat Noir “growing up” and unlocking the full power of their Miraculous, because just like when it was first established in Season 3, it's such a vague term, and only leaves you asking more questions. Neither Marinette or Adrien really had a big moment of personal growth this episode. Yeah, Adrien wanted to tell Marinette about London, but he had been trying to do that since Chloe first took over as mayor. While it's a decent piece of character development after keeping it secret for the past few episodes, it doesn't really do a lot to justify Adrien “growing up”.
Then again, at least Adrien actually got a moment to show his growth compared to Marinette. All she did before she “grew up” was tell the citizens of Paris to keep fighting, but it was such a vague speech and doesn't really scream becoming an adult. If she was going to sacrifice her identity or do something dangerous in order to stop Chloe, that could have worked. Instead, what I can assume was her big moment came after she defeated Chloe, the call at the end, and even then, it was just her telling Chloe how much she sucks, something she's never been afraid to say since the show started. Once again, if you need to tell the audience your show has character development, you're not good at writing character development.
Overall, while these episodes were both really bad, I still think they're at least more tolerable than the previous two.
And with that, I am officially done with the poorly written Chloe episodes. Sure, I still have three more episodes until I finish Season 5, but least this means Astruc will hopefully stop using her in the show, or at least ranting about her on Twitter. Maybe I'll make a character analysis post about her or talk about her during the overview post, but for now...

i. so 2 days ago, i think i almost got kidnapped.
ii. there's this line in mitski - okay, so i'm a stereotype but - she says i've been big and small. sometimes i think she means physically. and sometimes i think she means like how it feels small to be alone in a grocery store.
iii. i'm babysitting my brother's dog. my dog is much bigger than his; goblin's 70 pounds and comes up to my hip. but his dog (an australian shepherd) - she's tiny. like 30 pounds or something.
iv. i called my sister before i called the cops. it felt like a big move to call the cops. i didn't like doing it, either. i felt like, embarrassed this happened.
v. it was getting dark, right. and the rain had really started in earnest. and we were coming off a trail we'd seen a guy on, deep in the woods. this white unmarked panel van was just sitting there, at the trailhead, lights on, engine on. i had to squeeze past it to get to my car. i kept telling myself - this is fucking stupid to be freaked out by. it's just a guy. it's just a van. it's not a movie. move along.
vi. sometimes i think about those chain emails that used to go around. you know, the ones with "survival tips for women" in them. in the age of the internet, where did all of those go? where is the masterlist of holding your keys in your fist? did anyone print that up and put it on their wall. do they sleep beside it.
vii. the van started to move while i put the dogs in the car. very slowly, he turned and backed up so he was blocking me in. i felt my heart racing. the rain was in my eyes. he opened his front door, just stuck a foot out. my brother's dog immediately freaked out. i had to physically restrain her. he closed his door. i got into the car with the dog, through the passenger side. i locked everything. the van stayed behind me for a little bit. when he finally left, i found him parked at the edge of the road. he waited for me to turn, and then followed me for a few intersections.
iix. i just couldn't stop thinking - this isn't real. this isn't something that happens. you're making this a bigger issue than it needs to be. this is the way it would play out if you were on tv. i didn't want to be that person, you know? jumping at shadows. freaked out about nothing. you know, a hysterical woman.
ix. my friends and i joke over dinner that i would be the first to die in a horror movie. then we go around and assign death warrants - who dies first, who is the serial killer. there are times in my life i have been jokingly folded to fit into the trunk of a car. every time someone picks me up, even in a friendly way, i have the sudden, horrible thought: oh. i couldn't really stop this from happening if things got too far. that feels small and big all-at-once. like breathing in glass particles.
x. i didn't get the license plate. the cops were not helpful. i didn't really expect them to be, but i didn't want anyone else to get hurt, just-in-case something bad would have happened. not that i get to assume something bad would have happened. it feels small and stupid. i feel like an idiot. what if calling the cops causes more hurt than good? maybe calling them was foolish. the first thing i said when they picked up was - uh, so i don't really know if this is a big deal or not but i think something weird just happened.
xi. in the last 48 hours i have gone to work and done my laundry and walked the dogs some more. i didn't even bring it up with my therapist. on the phone with the police officer, she said - you're actually being very calm about this. it is just something that can happen, i guess. i think i'm probably not the only person walking around with something that should-be-big rattling around inside of them. since nothing did happen, i don't really get to be upset. bad things have happened to me. i am statistically speaking extremely lucky.
xii. sometimes i think about all the diary pages that exist. and all the places where people hide the things that are too horrible to look at, even if it's a memory. it feels big-and-small to know that my diary knows the worst of me. it feels big to know someone else probably has the same diary. like - ha! same trauma. how endearing. i told my sister - well this is just part of being femme presenting isn't it.
xiii. on wednesday i saw a bunch of warblers and last night i had a dream about a girl with red hair. that felt big. that felt poetic. it's thursday today. i almost got kidnapped on a tuesday. in between the rest of me, i have no idea where to fit that moment.
poem where everything is true unless it makes you uncomfortable and then of course it's all made up for attention // r.i.d

Tumblr media
This was all Robin's fault, Steve decided as he sneezed violently, his eyes burning and his throat itching. He was just trying to be a good friend to her, supporting her in whatever crazy ideas she had after her breakup with Vicky. Because that's what friends do, right? Support you in your pain and later help you clean up the inevitable mess when you come to your senses.
So when Robin asked him to drive her to the nearest animal shelter, he didn't hesitate.
Okay, maybe for a minute or so, but he quickly caved when she explained that she was clearly doomed to die alone, so she needed to go all in. Become the crazy lesbian cat lady she was so clearly meant to be.
Hence, the animal shelter to acquire said cat.
Steve expected to drive her there, look at some cats, and drive home because some helpful shelter attendant would explain to Robin that getting a cat was a bigger deal than she thought. He expected Robin to be sad and maudlin for a while, but ultimately glad because Steve loves her, but they both know that not even her potted plants survive more than a month.
What Steve didn't expect was to meet the man of his dreams.
They arrived early in the evening because they both had to work, and the shelter was surprisingly less busy than they had expected for that time of day. The waiting area of the Visitor Center was blissfully empty, which was a relief to Steve, who had been dealing with noisy customers all day and could feel a headache coming on.
Meandering up to the registration desk, they were greeted by a perky and really pretty blonde girl. Her name tag read Chrissy and she greeted them with a dazzling smile that Steve couldn't help but notice was directed more at Robin than at him. Either she immediately recognized which one of them was here to get a new pet, or she was smart enough to notice how amazing Steve's best friend was.
Steve hoped for the latter, which meant that instead of a hairy, clawed monster, Robin might be taking home the number of a pretty girl to help her get over her breakup.
"Hi, my name is Chrissy, how can I help you?" the woman chirped, and Steve had to nudge Robin's shoulder because she kept staring at Chrissy instead of answering.
"Oh, uh, hi. I'm Robin, this is Steve. We were looking for a cat." Then, realizing how that sounded, she hastily backtracked. "Or not we as in together, because we're not. That would be gross, he's like my brother. He's just helping me find a cat because he's my best friend, totally platonic with a capital 'P'."
Wow, Steve thought, he hadn't seen Robin ramble like that since before she started dating Vicky two years ago.
Fortunately, Chrissy seemed to find Robin's rambling endearing rather than off-putting, as her smile only brightened at Robin's explanation.
"Oh, you two are so cute. I totally get it. My best friend also works here and people always think we're a couple. Which we definitely are not." Chrissy told them before picking up the phone from her desk. "Speaking of which, I'm going to call him and tell him we have some potential pet owners who want to take a look at our cats."
She dialed a number from memory and it only rang twice before someone apparently picked up. Chrissy explained the situation and asked if they could take a tour before ending the call.
"Eddie will be with you in a few minutes. One of our dogs has taken a special liking to him and is demanding some extra belly scratches. Eddie won't admit it, but this dog has him wrapped around her paw." She laughs fondly at the thought. "Anyway, you can sit over there while you wait."
As they waited, Steve couldn't help but notice that Robin kept looking over to where Chrissy was typing on her computer. He leaned over to whisper, "Maybe you won't die alone with a bunch of cats after all."
Before Robin could answer, someone cleared their throat next to them, startling them both. They whipped around in unison to find a young man standing in front of them, and Steve could feel himself staring, but was unable to stop.
Because Jesus Christ, right in front of him was the prettiest guy Steve had ever seen.
Eddie, Steve guessed, had dark, unruly curls that he wore in a messy bun at the back of his neck, with strands framing his face. He was tall, at least as tall as Steve, maybe an inch or two taller, but more on the slender side, with legs that went on for miles and a tiny waist that Steve was dying to get his hands on. Big, dark, doe eyes looked at them with a friendly expression, and full lips curled into an inviting smile.
Steve was a goner from the start.
"Hi there, you must be why Chrissy called me here. I'm Eddie, nice to meet you," he greeted them, extending his hand to shake theirs. His hand was warm and Steve could feel the calluses on his ringed fingers. It conjured up images in his mind of those fingers wrapped around things other than his hand, dangerous thoughts.
"Hi," Steve squeaked, immediately wanting to put his hand over his mouth. It seemed that smooth had gone out to buy cigarettes and Steve had a suspicion that it wouldn't be back anytime soon.
When Eddie looked at him expectantly, it took him an embarrassingly long time to realize why.
"I'm, um, I'm Steve, and this is Robin, my friend. Best friend. Platonic friend."
Yes, smooth was gone, and it had taken his dignity with it. Great.
Next to him, he could see Robin suppressing a laugh at his flailing, the traitor. This was what he got for trying to be a good friend: Mockery.
Eddie looked like he was suppressing laughter too, but on him it just looked endearing.
"Okay, Steve, Robin. Follow me, to the kittens!" Like a man leading them to war, he marched off, clearly expecting them to follow. Looking at each other in silent agreement, they did.
They passed a large fenced area, and Steve could make out kennels at the far end of it. Following Steve's gaze, Eddie explained, "This is where our dogs stay. Most of them are allowed out during the day in the fenced area you see there, but at night they sleep in their crates."
Eddie leads them to a large, plain-looking house. "This is the cat house. We keep them behind glass walls because the little minxes would definitely climb through the bars and disappear. Come on in."
Inside, they were greeted with the distinct smell of several animals in a rather small space, but Steve was pleasantly surprised that the smell wasn't that bad or intense. Next to him, Robin immediately started cooing at the cats playing on the other side of the windowed rooms, which caused Steve and Eddie to share an indulgent smile.
Eddie was great, showing them all the cats and telling them stories about where they had come from as far as he knew, what they were like, what they liked and disliked, and was clearly very fond of his charges.
Robin and Steve were both hanging on Eddie's lips, but for very different reasons. For while Robin soaked up every word Eddie said, Steve soaked up every tiny movement of that pretty, pretty mouth, imagining how it would feel pressed against his. He kept nodding along, humming his agreement here and there, sometimes saying "yeah" or "definitely," as if he could hear any of their conversation instead of dreaming of kissing Eddie senseless.
That's the only explanation he has for why, after maybe thirty minutes of looking at cute cats, Steve and Robin both ended up with cats in their arms while Eddie prepared the adoption papers. At some point, Steve must have agreed to adopt a little fur ball, and now Eddie was all excited and happy, bouncing up and down as he explained that they were hoping to find a home for this set of siblings where they could still see each other. Apparently, Steve and Robin had promised to bring them together to play whenever possible.
"You can't believe how cool this is, we had almost given up hope that they would find someone. Chrissy and I had even discussed doing it ourselves, but Cerberus, my dog, doesn't like cats, and Chrissy didn't want to take two cats at once. But she loves Buttercup, so maybe she can visit her sometime? I know she would love that," Eddie adds with a wink in Steve's direction, and Steve begins to feel lightheaded. "And to be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing Buttercup and Tornado again either."
Was Eddie saying what Steve hoped? Robin seemed to think so, because she perked up immediately. "Oh, you two could come over this weekend and see how they are settling in. Since Steve and I are neighbors, it would be easy to visit them both on the same day."
And that's how Steve ended up with a tabby cat in his house and the worst allergic reaction he's had since Joyce brought home a stray cat while Steve was over for dinner and some cat hair got into his food.
When he knocked on Robin's door the next morning, Steve felt terrible, not only because his sinuses were shot to hell and his mucous membranes were rebelling, but because he felt like he was letting Eddie down. He knew he was allergic, but when he realized what he had unwittingly agreed to, he felt so stupid and pathetic that he didn't want to back out and explain why he hadn't said anything before.
"Steve, oh my God, you look awful! What happened?" Robin greeted him as she opened the door with Buttercup curled up in her arms. The cat was purring like crazy and Steve was happy to see that at least one of them was doing well with the whole pet adoption thing.
" I might have forgotten to tell you that I'm allergic to cats?" Steve said in a thick, congested voice. To be fair, he thought it wouldn't be an issue because he was so sure Robin wouldn't go through with adopting a cat. Or that he would.
"You're what? Steve! You just adopted a cat. What did you think was going to happen?"
Fair point. It looked like coming clean was his only real option here. It's not like Robin hadn't done stupid things when she had a crush on a girl, okay?
"I didn't want to adopt a cat! Hell, I never thought you would go through with it either, but I certainly never planned on bringing one home myself. I thought we'd get there, talk to one of the attendants, then go home and sleep on it and you'd realize you didn't really want a cat and we'd never go back."
Robin looked extremely unimpressed with him now, and even Buttercup had stopped purring and was looking at him with one eye half open.
"So what happened to change your mind?"
"Eddie," Steve said in a low voice.
"I beg your pardon?" She had heard him, but she made him say it again.
Steve sighed and repeated in a louder voice, "Eddie happened. I didn't even know what he was talking about because I was distracted by his mouth. I didn't realize what was happening until it was too late and I didn't want to disappoint him."
"You're such a Dingus, Dingus." Robin thankfully didn't sound angry or mocking, just exasperated and fond. "So what do we do now?"
"Keep the cat and hope it doesn't kill me?" Steve tried, already knowing that wasn't the answer she was looking for.
"Steve."
"Robin."
Putting Buttercup down and grabbing her keys from the small table next to her, Robin stepped forward and closed the door behind her. With a reassuring hand on Steve's shoulder, she said firmly, "Listen, we have to get Tornado back. You look like you're going to keel over any minute."
"But Eddie -"
"Wouldn't want you to die either. He looked at your ass way too much to want you dead."
That made Steve perk up. "He did?"
Smiling indulgently at him, Robin nodded. "He did. So let's get you cleaned up and pick up some allergy meds on the way to the shelter."
That's exactly what they did, and by the time they got there, Steve was feeling a little better. Tornado was in his crate in the back seat, strapped down, and when Robin took him out of the car, Steve's heart broke a little at the sight of him. He really wished it wouldn't literally kill him to have Tornado living with him.
Chrissy greeted them as cheerfully as yesterday, if a little more confused.
"Hey Robin. Steve. What brings you back, is everything okay with Buttercup and Tornado?"
Explaining the situation to Chrissy would have been bad enough, but Eddie had to choose this exact moment to walk by and see them. He walked over to them, greeted Steve with a warm and dimpled smile, and Steve had half a mind to just tell Robin 'never mind' and go back home to his slow death by asphyxiation.
He would have done just that if Robin had not known him too well. When Eddie asked the same thing as Chrissy, she walked over to Eddie and gently placed Tornado's box in his hands. "Steve had a bad allergic reaction to him this morning."
It warmed Steve's heart that Eddie's first reaction was genuine concern. He took a step toward Steve before remembering that he was holding the cause of Steve's condition.
Setting the box on the floor, he closed the distance between them and placed a hand on Steve's arm.
"Oh God, are you okay, Steve?"
"Yeah, I'm fine now, we picked up some meds on the way and they've already kicked in."
Eddie's thumb traced his shoulder under his shirt and he wasn't sure if the lightheaded feeling was a lingering effect of his allergic reaction or just the way he was reacting to Eddie.
"So you didn't know you were allergic?" Eddie asked and Robin snorted beside them.
"Oh, he did," she muttered, and Steve wanted to kill her. The impulse intensified when Eddie raised a questioning eyebrow at him.
"Um, well, yeah. I kind of knew?" It sounded like a question, and Eddie's eyebrows had completely disappeared beneath his bangs. "I just didn't say anything," Steve added, aware that he was digging a deep, deep grave for his dignity if it ever came back from getting cigarettes with his smoothness.
"But why?" Eddie sounded genuinely confused, and Steve couldn't blame him. Saying it like that made him sound a little crazy.
"I was... distracted and only realized what I had agreed to when it was too late. You were so excited and happy that I couldn't bring myself to tell you that it was all just a small misunderstanding."
Even now Steve couldn't help but stare at Eddie's pretty and very kissable lips as he said this. Maybe he should see a doctor about this.
Or maybe not, because it almost seemed like Eddie was looking right back at Steve's now. "Distracted by what?" he asked, suddenly even closer than before, his eyes still on Steve's mouth. When did this happen?
Licking his lips impulsively, Steve felt a thrill run through his body at the way Eddie's eyes darkened as they followed the movement of his tongue.
"By...you," he admitted softly. "Your lips. They are very distracting."
A dimple winked at him as Eddie smiled at his words. "Are they?"
"Yeah.'"
They were so close now, breathing the same air as they talked, and Steve could feel Eddie's words as much as he heard them.
"Yours too, you know?" Eddie replied and why were they still talking?
Without thinking, Steve closed the last few inches between them and kissed the lips that had gotten him into this mess in the first place. He was willing to forgive Eddie, though, because by God the man could kiss, his lips as soft and supple as they looked, and his tongue warm and wet as it skillfully licked into his mouth.
They only broke apart at the sound of two people clearing their throats in unison.
Maybe Steve wouldn't take a cat home after all, but something told him he'd get something better to keep.

when aaron finished his talk with the captain, he reached out in a gesture typical of an old friend who just shared some sincere advice before leaving the room. however, his sense of peace was disrupted when he heard a whistle behind him and found derek, with a playful smirk.
"she's mad," derek said. "very, very mad."
instantly, curiosity pricked aaron, who raised an eyebrow skeptically.
"who's mad?"
rossi, who had overheard the whole conversation, even y/n's anger, sighed in exasperation.
"y/n is furious because you shook hands with captain sanders."
aaron couldn't help but feel how absurd the situation was.
"sorry, y/n is mad? why?"
derek whistled again, with a grin.
"aaron, my man, you're gonna need a massive bouquet of flowers if you want her forgiveness."
y/n was famous for only accepting flowers as apologies, and the bigger the mistake, the bigger the bouquet. it was a thing that came handy and everyone used to remember whenever someone accidentally stained her white shirt with coffee.
the jet trip went on as usual, but aaron couldn't shake off his mistake.
when they returned to the office, y/n started gathering her things before being called into aaron's office.
"miss y/n, if you have any issue with me or my way of working, you should tell me," aaron said even before y/n could sit down.
"i'm not a mom to be educating stupid people," y/n replied furiously.
"excuse me?"
y/n clicked her tongue in frustration.
"respectfully sir, you..." she began. "not only did you give a speech defending a man who raised a rapist and murderer, but you also shook hands with a man who abused his wife! you said it yourself!"
"do you think a father deserves to be punished for his son's mistakes?"
"yes," y/n replied dryly. "he should be in jail alongside his son, not seeking ways to reduce that idiot's sentence," she added angrily as she rose from her seat and stormed out of the room.
rossi entered a few seconds later. "sometimes i'm glad to know she's just a media liaison and she doesn't have permission to carry a gun."
aaron stared at rossi. "what should i do now?"
"well, i know she loves roses," rossi wisely replied.
aaron sighed, mentally counting the bills in his wallet. he would need a big bouquet.
when y/n arrived at her desk, she noticed the bouquet of thornless roses and a note signed with a simple, cursive "a." she couldn't help but smile, knowing deep down that nearby florists didn't sell thornless roses.

*A COUPLE DAYS LATER*
The morning has felt so long since you woke up so early to go to the temple before the crowd could get any bigger. You had to wait and wait in the cold until you were able to go in, and you didn’t even take that long, waiting took a lot longer.
When you were on your way home your eyes got so droopy and you kept getting lulled to sleep, yet! Now that you’re home that fucking need to sleep is gone. It got completely blown away! Now you’re wandering the school grounds reading a romantic tragedy, smiling like an idiot, and waiting for time to pass so you can continue with the rest of your day plans with Satoru and Suguru.
However…
“Y/N.”
You look away from the book at the sound of your name and see that it’s Suguru smiling at you from the bench in front of the pond.
You should just offer him an acknowledging wave and go about your day until you have to see him. Just so the feelings within you already running ramped don’t go even crazier. You should just walk away, don’t smile and don’t go to him.
Alas you don’t have that sort of control, you walk over to him, and catch his eyes soften as you approach him with your dark red kimono still on.
“What are you doing up?” You query as you close your book and sit beside him on the bench. “I imagined you’d be sleeping like Satoru.”
Suguru shrugs softly and doesn’t pull his eyes away from you. “I couldn't go back to sleep. What about you? You were falling asleep in the car.”
You roll your eyes in annoyance to yourself. “Yeah, but, pft,” you blow out. “It got blown away the moment we got home. It sucks.” You slouch and put the book down to hold onto the edge of the seat.
“You,” he interjects softly, pulling your attention back to him. “You look nice. I didn’t tell you before.”
You swallow thickly and feel your face burn up, your heart begins to race inside your chest, and your words threaten to come out as just breaths of air, but you muster the courage to respond. “Thank you. You looked nice too.” You smile a timid smile and quickly avert your gaze.
Silence follows for a few minutes before he picks up the book beside you. “What are you reading?” He asks.
“A romantic tragedy,” you share and tilt your head towards him to watch him open the book. “It’s about a couple in ancient times from enemy kingdoms who fall in love, even if from the beginning they know they can’t be together. Things and people keep trying to tear them apart, but they always find a way to each other. Until…well the end.” You sigh and pout. “I cry every time even if I’ve read so many times.”
Suguru hums as he flips through the pages. “I’ll have to give it a read.”
You lean towards him to look at your book. “You’re into romance?” You query with amusement.
Suguru's eyes drift to the corner to meet yours and his lips tug wider. “Well no, but I can give it a try.”
You share a breathless laugh and sit back to watch the fishless pond. “How are you holding up today?” You ask with genuine curiosity after what he said about his parents.
Suguru closes the book and puts it back by your side, rather than pulling his hand away right at that moment, he keeps his hand close to yours, letting you feel the warmth of his flesh as he keeps his hand inches away.
“Well,” he says quietly. “It’s never easy, but I’m enjoying today. Really. Satoru and you have made my day.”
You grin at him and pat his hand that he had on your book. “Good, that makes me happy.” You make sure to keep your hand closer now, to the point the side of your hands brush against each other. “We still have quite a day planned so be ready. Oh!” You exclaim excitedly. “And we’re going to see the fireworks they’re popping nearby! I’m excited for that.”
Suguru smiles brighter at you before he nudges you with his elbow. “How are you holding up?”
You sigh and feel your smile fade slowly. “Today I’ve been good,” you share quieter than moments before. “Ever since the mission I’ve been trying to be fine, and don’t get me wrong there’s been good days in between, but I can’t seem to get past it. Even after my resolve.”
“Healing is not magic—”
You cut Suguru off with a laugh and hum. “Kind of is in our standpoint.”
Suguru scoffs. “I mean mentally, dork,” he clarifies. “All those bad memories are going to take a while to leave your mind. I think the most important thing you can do is remember what you’re living for.”
You blink to look down at the body of water across from you, and hum softly in comprehension before you interject. “I never lost that…but since then my mindset has changed,” you pause as you begin to hesitate sharing your new goal out of fear. You feel the need to share with him, but there’s fear holding you back too.
He was so vocal about his goal, about his mindset on being sorcerers. He liked the way you thought before because you thought so similarly, so what will happen now? Will he hate you?
“What is it?” Suguru doesn’t brush you off.
You sigh deeply and slide your hand away from his to grip onto the edge of the seat again. “It’s okay if you want to hate me,” you mumble. “I would understand, but I know I won’t change my mind,” you pause again.
And again Suguru presses. “Why would I hate you?”
“Because I don’t want to fight for the weak,” you reveal and keep your eyes averted. “Not for the non-sorcerers anyway. It might be selfish, but it’s true. I want to help people like us. I want to make our world at least a little better so the next generation of sorcerers don’t have to suffer as much as we do. I know I won't completely change the world, but I want to make a difference.” You finish with a proud smile, making sure to still not look at Suguru. Even as you feel his stare on you.
“I still don’t understand why I’d hate you,” he interjects sweetly. “As long as you’re trying to help, that's fine by me. Besides…I admire your unshakable mindset. It’s hard for some people, they tend to change depending on what others think.”
You hum softly and then lift your gaze to meet his with a relieved smile. Suguru holds your gaze and probes curiously. “Why does it matter if I hated you?”
Shit.
Because…for some reason your feelings for him don’t go away. For some reason your desire only heightens. And it would be like living in a nightmare if he didn’t speak to you. That’s why.
“Because it’s important to me that you don’t,” you share simply and leave it at that without any other explanation.
Luckily he doesn’t try to further investigate, he leaves it be.
Now you should walk away, leave things be here as they are. After all he’s only making your heart pound faster and your mind ravel into messier knots.
Yet you don’t, plus he then breaks the silence so you find an even better excuse to stay—“I need your help with something.”
You sit up and quirk a brow. “Oh?”
Suguru draws out a small breath before he glances away and starts explaining. “I like someone…”
Oh…
“But I don’t know if I should go for it or not,” he continues, making you stiffen with growing discontent. “You see it kind of sprang up fast. I didn’t expect it. It caught me off guard…”
Does he really have to torture you this way?
“…I really want to tell her, she’s truly beautiful, nice, cool, funny, and has this strong unshakable mindset that I really, really admire. I think we connect pretty well, so I want to see where it goes because I have a feeling she likes me too, but I just don’t know.”
If smoke could come out of you, it would. That’s how bothered and angry you are. Why would you care if he likes someone?
“Well,” you sigh with hidden discontent. “I say…go for it. If you’re holding back because of what we do then you’ll find yourself unhappy all your life, there'll never be a right time in our occupation. Tell her and…find happiness where you can, when you can.” You keep your eyes averted and really fight hard to not show how upset you are now.
“Like in my book,” you continue so you won’t storm off. “The couple faces a lot of obstacles but they never let that get to them, they fight through it to be together and they’re the only ones happy because of it. Everyone else is bitter and jealous.”
Like you.
Suguru hums softly. “Thank you. I’ll tell her then.”
“Yeah,” you mumble and slide your hand to your lap to mess with the bracelet he had given you.
Perhaps you should take it off.
“Anyway,” you add. “Who is it anyway? Is it Utahime? Sounds like her.”
Suguru laughs. “No. It’s not her.”
You gasp and look at him with surprise. “Is it Mei-mei? Just so you know she was kind of flirting with me after I told her how much money I have.”
“No,” he denies you sweetly. “Not Mei-mei.”
You quirk your brow and press. “Who then? Tell me. I’m curious now.”
Suguru slightly turns to face you better, and then leans in closer. Even if inside you’re slowly going to combust of anger you still lean in out of curiosity.
“Who?” You whisper.
Suguru holds your gaze for a lingering moment before his gaze drops to your lips. You wait for his answer, but find yourself also glancing at his lips too before you lick your lips and exhale slowly. Suguru leans in, but he stops and groans softly before pulling back just before you can touch his lips.
You should let it go, not think too much into this singular moment. But he was going to kiss you. You! After pinning over him since you met, your secret desire is finally going to come true, so you can’t let it go, you lean in and smash your lips on his.
They’re soft, and his breath tastes like mint. He’s gentle, but you can’t savor the taste completely because he’s quick to pull back.
“I’m sorry,” he quickly interjects and stands up. “I’m sorry if my breath…” he pauses as you sit there in disbelief. “Curses taste bad. I’m sorry.”
“No,” you blurt and stand up. “No it smells nice. Well,” you ramble nervously. “It tastes—smells like mint.” You giggle nervously and see him back away with his head down.
You step forward and part your lips to speak, but nothing comes out. Instead of trying to find your words though you close the gap and grab his jaw to tilt his head up and smash your lips on his again. It’s like giving into instinct.
Besides, you can’t just let it go and pretend like nothing happened, like you didn’t like the short taste before, like you didn’t actually want to, because you did. More than anything all you wanted to know was how his lips tasted like after all the tension neither of you can deny. After almost kissing that night of Christmas Eve, after stealing glances at each other when the other isn’t looking, after that short kiss mere seconds ago.
This time though you make sure to savor the taste. This time you can actually feel your heart do flips. You feel it again, that safety, like nothing in life can ever hurt you, like you’re invincible with him.
Now all your mind is focused on is him and the way his lips move with yours as he kisses you back. Nothing exists beyond that, not the sight or sound. It’s just him, you and your lips, this wet kiss, and this possibility, this hope that there can be more, that this feeling can go beyond anything you can imagine.
Albeit there is one thing, you don’t know what to do with your hands, nor does he. You just kiss until you need to catch your breaths. After that you can’t help but smile.
“Uh,” you laugh softly. “I need to go.” You step back and point back to the dorms before you turn around.
However, before you can leave you turn to face Suguru still standing there, watching you.
“It is me, right?” You ask to make sure. “That you were talking about earlier?”
Suguru laughs and nods. “Yeah of course.”
You beam at him and nod. “I was just making sure.” You giggle and spin back around to head back to your room. It’s only once you’re inside that you realize you forgot your book, and to actually further that conversation and ask what happens now. What do you want to happen?
You did like that kiss and the way it did make you feel. You want more. You don’t want this warm feeling to go away. Ever.
You squeal into your pillow and fall back on your bed to smile at the ceiling. Suguru is all you can think about, thus when a knock raps on your door your mind immediately goes to him.
Maybe he’s going to return your book?
However, when you open the door it’s the reminder of what stopped you from sharing your feelings in the first place, the reason that should stop you from developing what just happened with Suguru. It’s your older brother, Satoru.
——
*LATER*
As the day progressed it continued on like before, slow. Only this time it felt like actual torture. You should have stayed to talk to Suguru rather than skipping off and giggling like a lovestruck fool. Now, you have to go on about your day with your stomach all knotted, making you feel like you’re going to puke. You have to go on pretending like nothing happened, like you’re not thinking about Suguru’s lips, and how amazing that kiss felt. How good it felt to indulge in something selfish.
What will you even do if you do tell your brother? Die? Combust there and then? Be happy?
That’d be nice. It’s his best friend after all, there’s no one he trusts more.
Then again what if it was just a kiss? Something simple and only meant to enjoy that once?
Ugh! That’s why you should have stuck around to talk to Suguru.
“I’m going to get some saka manju!” You blurt and swing your legs over the seat to get off the table. “You guys want some?”
Satoru looks at you and quirks a brow out of confusion, but he doesn’t question you, he shrugs lazily. “Sure.”
You avert looking at Suguru and just listen to his response. “Yeah. That’d be good.”
You don’t wait a moment longer and approach the young vendor selling the sweets. As he notices you approaching he blinks repeatedly before he fixes his hair and tugs a smile on his face.
“Looking to taste some sweets?” The vendor interjects. “Just for the holiday season I can give you a discount.”
You lift your gaze and finally take in his face. He looks quite young, maybe around your age or a bit older. He’s not bad to look at, but he’s not who you like or your type. You can tell by the way he’s standing and smiling at you all smugly.
Yet you still take advantage of his advances and begin to smile all sweetly whilst you touch your chest as if in disbelief.
“Here,” he adds and puts the sweets on a decorative box before he hands them to you.
You shoot him a feigned sweet smile and take one piece to take a slow and seductive bite. You then pull the sweet back slowly and step forward. Once you’ve swallowed you bat your lashes. “That was just how I imagined,” you giggle. “That was very good. How much do I owe you? I’ll feel bad to take advantage of your kindness. Please.”
The guy grins and shrugs. “Don’t worry about it, happy new year.”
You grin at him. “Happy new year.” You offer him a small wave before you turn around to head back to your table.
When you sit down with your mouth full, Satoru interjects. “Uh, where’s ours?”
“Oh,” you mumble and look at them with shock. “Well,” you say after you swallow. “I got mine for free, sorry. I’ll go—”
“Don’t bother,” Satoru grumbles and pushes himself up. “I’ll go. Won’t want the guy to give you the whole damn cart.”
You giggle and watch him as he walks to the cart, leaving you and Suguru alone. For the first time since the kiss.
“So what did you tell the guy to get that for free?” Suguru breaks his silence.
You finally drift your gaze to him and laugh softly. “Nothing,” you say honestly whilst you feel your face grow warm once again. “He just saw how incredibly gorgeous I was.”
Suguru scoffs.
You grin and fold your arms over the table as you lean forward towards him. “It’s simple really. Some guys are easy to fool when they see a beautiful woman. I happen to be one and I know how to work my way with guys.”
Suguru sits back and folds his arms over his chest. “Oh?” He questions.
You shoot him a smug smile and then sit back acting as if he doesn’t have you all flustered. “Did it work on you, Suguru?” You tease him.
Said man scoffs and drops his head to smile at the table. You snicker and peer back, noticing that Satoru is approaching so you lose your smile and grow stiff again.
“Can we talk later?” Suguru interjects.
You blink and meet his gaze with your eyes slightly widened before you nod. As if you didn’t see this coming. “Yeah,” you whisper.
Satoru returns to the table with the sweets and sets the box down hard in front of him and Suguru. “Here. And here.” He adds and puts down a napkin with a number and a name you don’t bother to read—“From the worker guy.”
You reach for the napkin with no intention to actually store it in your phone, you were just going to see if you could make someone jealous, but before you can take it Satoru pulls it back towards him and uses it to fake sneeze in it.
“Real mature,” you grumble and glare at your brother.
Satoru tilts his shades down and you notice he’s looking past you. You peer back and see the worker swallowing back nervously as he watches your brother throw away the napkin in the trash can nearby.
“He’s 20 by the way,” Satoru says and looks back at you. “Hitting on a teenager. Should I have just let him take advantage of you?”
“Satoru,” you complain. “Stop it.”
“I’m just saying.” Your brother shrugs with no care in the world.
“Well,” you sigh. “Talk less. And I’m going to date. You can’t protect me forever.” You meet his gaze so he can see your pointed look.
He however doesn’t falter. “That’s why It’s a good thing I’m the strongest because it means that I can. Back me up here Suguru.”
You avert your gaze and take a bite from your snack.
“Well,” Suguru responds hesitantly. “I think she’s right. You can’t coddle her all her life.”
“Huh? Who's coddling who?” Satoru rebuttals. “All I'm saying is that as long as I’m alive and strong, I’m going to make sure scumbags don’t hurt her.”
“Well maybe, have you thought that someone else can also protect her just as much,” Suguru counters and drops arms from his chest to lean in closer to Satoru.
Usually you’d be touched, but they are talking like you’re not sitting across from them, so you slap your hand on the table and cut in. “Well have you guys thought that maybe I can protect myself when it comes to that? Or any other matter?”
Satoru hums and is about to argue, but you shake your head and interject first. “No. Shut up. This matter is over, yeah?” You get up to continue with your walk now that you have a good snack, the guys trail after you with no second to spare and don’t add on that matter, thankfully.
“Anyway,” you cut in with an excited smile. “I have a movie we can watch later. It’s about this cool and awesome heroine who has the most glorious death!”
Satoru groans. “You just spoiled it so why does it matter?”
You look back at him and shake your head. “No, I didn’t, just watch it, it’ll be worth your while.”
Your brother sighs and then nudges Suguru’s arm. “Well I say Suguru should pick.”
Said man looks over at you, but you quickly look away. This time Satoru notices the tension you failed at hiding. “Are you guys okay? You guys have been acting weird since this afternoon.”
Your breath catches in your throat and your eyes widen, but you don’t say anything. You don’t look back, you just answer bluntly. “Nothings wrong. Now can you pick it up? We need to hurry home, we don’t have all day.”
Once home, you can’t say the tension lifted without talking it out. And Satoru never left far or for too long for Suguru and you to talk like you wanted, so throughout the entire evening the tension seemed to burn hotter. You could feel the heat burning the both of you up, no matter how much you wanted to or tried to ease it, nothing worked.
It’s a good thing you could find your moments of peace, it’s a good thing that Satoru doesn’t seem to catch any lingering glances you steal at Suguru, or that he steals at you, or else it would’ve turned the day dreadful.
Then again you can’t say you much minded all this tension and high emotions, it helps you keep your mind off all the bad memories. Actually throughout the entire day you found your peace in such a simple moment like eating poorly made crepes and watching a movie with Suguru and Satoru. That moment, being with them in that moment brought forth a brighter light within you after having it snuffed out.
Yet you can’t say it satisfies you completely, there’s still so many things you want out of life. There’s one person who could be this beaming light in your life. But it’s that other person who makes this all easier that worries you. What if he gets upset and makes you pick a difficult choice, what if he approves of Suguru and you, but something happens and he has to pick between his best friend and you? How could you be the reason he loses someone so special to him? What if he doesn’t approve of Suguru and you?
Could you really commit to a relationship if your brother, the one person most important to you in your life doesn’t approve?
No matter what you tell yourself, when it comes to important life matters you do care about Satoru’s opinion. You respect his opinion.
Then again, should you hold yourself back because of your brother? What you do in life already holds you back plenty, so should an opinion really keep you from a small selfish desire?
Fuck. What should you do?
Go with the flow? Commit to something selfish? Or hold yourself back for the sake of your brother, and so if something happens you aren’t hurt by the outcome?
Fuck…
Well perhaps you’ll wait for what Suguru has to say. But first, since Satoru is still with you, you'll enjoy the firework show.
“It’s so crowded here,” you complain as you squeeze through the crowd to try and follow Satoru to a ‘good spot’—“We should’ve watched them from home.”
Plus something about being surrounded by non-sorcerers gets you annoyed. Scared? No, definitely annoyed.
Regardless you’re already here, so you just try and ignore it. Instead you look back at Suguru trailing behind you and smirk at him. “Listen to this,” you say before you shoot him a thumbs up and a wink—“That or maybe you could’ve flown us to the sky to watch them,” you tease your brother and chuckle as you look at him.
“I float,” Satoru says over his shoulder with annoyance. “Not fly. Huge difference.”
That always bugs him.
You shrug. “Meh, is it really? You just burst into the sky, so it’s kind of like flying.”
“Is there a difference between me leaving you behind and you getting lost?” He rebuttals, making you pout and stay quiet.
“Here, we’re here!” Satoru exclaims and pushes past a couple.
“Hey!” They exclaim.
“Sorry,” you apologize for your brother and quicken your pace to catch up to him to a cement barrier that surrounds the river.
“Get on up,” he points to the top before he takes your hand to help you up so you can sit on the barrier without having to be squished by strangers, or having to stand to watch the fireworks in the sky. There are other people sitting on the barrier, but it’s not filled, nor do you have to sit next to mundane strangers, thankfully.
“Isn’t it a good spot or what?” Satoru asks as he sits on your left side, while you’re surprised to see Suguru sit on your right.
“How did you find this spot?” You probe and watch your brother closelessly.
Satoru rolls his head to the side to shoot Suguru and you a cocky smirk. “Just thank me already.”
You roll your eyes. “Gross.” He’s brought his dates here hasn't he?
“Just ignore it,” Suguru comments. “That’s what I do.”
You hum in agreement and look up at the sky, you can’t see the stars tonight, too much light pollution from the city nearby and overall pollution. That’s the only thing your family home has, you can see stars from home.
“Oh that’s right, Satoru don’t you have those sparklers?” Suguru probes as he leans towards him from behind you.
“Oh, that’s right!” Your brother says and quickly opens his coat to pull out the pack of sparklers. “I did forget a lighter though. Do you have one Suguru?”
Said man nudges you. “Yeah, firefly here.” He chuckles.
“I dont get it,” Satoru says.
You feign a laugh and push Suguru to the side gently. “You are not funny,” you grumble.
Suguru laughs more as he leans back towards you to offer his lighter. You finally meet his gaze, and roll your eyes with a smile playing on your lips as you brush your fingers over his to take the object.
Yet just before you can help your brother light the sparklers, the first firework shoots to the sky and steals all your attention. “It’s starting!” You exclaim and quickly grab Sugurus' arm to pull him up with you as you stand up to watch how the red light shoots up before exploding into a beautiful red, pink, and orange blast in the sky.
It’s something so insignificant maybe, silly to be excited over, but you can’t help it. Firework shows are your favorite, seeing all the colors light up in the sky never fails to make you smile. Like now, you grin brightly and with awe as you watch the many combinations of different colors; like yellow and orange, white and silver, blue and white, light the night sky.
You're filled with such an overwhelming joy that you don’t bother letting go of Suguru's arm, you hold onto him as you get lost in the moment, feeling like it’s just you watching the designs decorate the sky. It’s why you don’t notice him watching you instead, you don’t see his soft smile as he sees you grin at the sky, as he watches how the colors bask your face and make your eyes gleam brighter.
When there’s a brief pause though, you finally tear your eyes from the sky and look to your right. Suguru’s gaze is on the sky as he waits now, so he doesn’t notice you right away, not until a few seconds later; he meets your gaze and you can’t help but offer him a bashful smile as you hold his gaze for a few lingering moments before you look down at your brother and try to act cool.
Satoru tilts his head up and meets your gaze behind his shades. You smile at him and let go of Suguru to sit back down.
“Light?” You offer and raise your finger to summon fire and show him what Suguru meant by his stupid nickname.
“Oh!” Satoru mouths before chuckles. “I get it now!”
“See!” Suguru laughs as he sits back down too. “Firefly.”
You just groan and give life to the five sparklers.
Wait, five?
“Are these all for you or what?” You probe as you turn the fire off and take a stick.
Satoru gives Suguru his and then shoots you both a grin. “Watch,” he says and then proceeds to get up to walk over to a pair of high school girls.
“Satoru,” Suguru mumbles in disapproval.
You roll your eyes and just drift your focus to your sparkler. Now would be the perfect chance to talk. Here under the night sky, under the fireworks, and protected by their noise from eavesdroppers.
However, you can’t speak up first, you just watch the sparkler in your hand and swing your legs back and forth.
“Let’s take a walk,” Suguru suggests as he nudges your arm. “I suspect your brother will be occupied for a while.” He stands up and offers you his hand, you hesitate only because you first look back to make sure Satoru is busy. When you see that he doesn’t notice Suguru standing up, you take Suguru’s hand and let him help you to your feet.
Since the barrier is too small for the both of you to walk on you instead land back on the ground and begin to walk down the river.
“How are you liking today?” You ask and frown as your sparkler dies.
“Well, its been eventful,” he says.
You look at him with a quirked brow. “Oh?”
Suguru scratches the back of his head and shakes it. “No, I just mean. It’s been fun, I’ve liked today, it’s eventful because I think your dynamic with your brother is unique.” He laughs softly. “You guys are even more chaotic when you’re both alone together.”
You giggle. “Yeah. Well, he gets on my every last nerve, and there has to be someone to correct him.” You scoff. “Besides you I mean.”
“Maybe our attempts are futile, considering he doesn’t listen to either of us,” Suguru points out.
“Yeah but we’ll still do it hopefully it lands through his thick skull,” you mumble and sigh. “Anyway, you had a good time?” You ask again and grab his hand to pull him to a stop with you. “It’s important to me that you did,” you add softly and cup both of his hands.
Suguru glances down at your hands joined together before looking at you and offering you a gentle smile. “I did. Don’t worry,” he assures you. “Thank you for including me today, it meant a lot.”
You smile with relief and caress his hands before you pull away and continue down the path to make sure you’re as far away from Satoru as you can be.
“Honestly I can’t wait for spring,” you share with a sigh. “As cute as winter clothes are the cold and I just don’t get along.”
Suguru hums softly and then queries curisoly. “So you prefer warm days then? Duly noted.”
You smile at the ground. “Actually,” you interject softly. “A perfect day is a not so hot but clear day, which is rare here because of the pollution, but those are my favorite when we get them. I like to just hang out with friends or my brother, or find something to do outdoors. I find them calming. And,” you continue excitedly. “A perfect end to that day would be seeing a blazing sunset with tea in my hand.” You grin at the sky as the fireworks start to light the sky again. “What about you?”
Suguru lets out a deep breath and lifts his gaze off you to watch the blue firework blast in the sky. “Well, a day like today. I don’t have a preference. Cold or warm, I think a good day is just being with the people I care about.”
You look down and smile at him with admiration before you look ahead, feeling your heart pound even harder inside your chest.
“I’ll just say it now before we get interrupted,” he interjects, making you come to another stop, and forcing him to stop to face you. “I like you,” he reveals, or just assures you of the fact. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since the day we met. And I wanted to tell you, but Satoru,” he pauses and sighs. “Well he’s my best friend, he’s your brother. I know he’s protective over you, so I hesitated because of him, because I respect him.”
So what? Will this go nowhere?
“But?” You press nervously.
Suguru scoffs softly. “But…a couple weeks ago when I lost you…”
“You didn’t lose me,” you cut him so he won’t blame himself over a trap you fell into all by yourself. “It was my fault. I wasn’t careful. I fell into that domain, it wasn’t because of you.”
Suguru frowns and shakes his head. “No, it was, I said we were supposed to search together, but I got carried away and I lost you. And because of it I recognized this fear within me, one I’ve never felt so deeply before. I was going to just let my feelings go, brush them off, but when I lost you I…I…”
He’s never at a loss for words, sure you haven’t known him long, but ever since you met him he never gets this…nervous. It makes you nervous.
“I felt this crippling fear,” he says softly. “Everything went even darker than it already was, and where I once imagined my future, at the thought of losing you, I just couldn't see it anymore. I felt hopeless.”
Your breath catches in your throat, your heart swells, and you feel the need to cry. No one has ever spoken to you like that ever. Yet you can’t help but feel a twinge of…guilt, and the need to voice it. Even if it adds strain to this beautiful moment.
“I don’t think you should rely all your hope on me.” You sigh deeply and avert your gaze. “I’m not strong like you. I’m trying, but I don’t think I’ll ever come close, so I’ll get hurt or even worse. I don’t want to be the cause of that pain.”
Suguru laughs softly, catching you by surprise and making you slowly lift your eyes to look at him again.
“I read this poem once. Or recently,” he shares
You narrow your gaze and tilt your head slightly.
“About a person who would rather hold onto thoughts of their loved one who’s moved on, they’d rather desperately reach out for them in the abyss than love someone else because they knew no one could make them feel the same…they knew that the ache was better than never having felt at least a moment of that pleasure.”
Tears fill your eyes and you can’t help but smile like an idiot. Suguru holds your gaze as he grabs your hands to cup them in his, providing warmth to your cold hands.
“I,” you breathe out and grin. This sounds more like a love confession than a simple confession, but where there was once fear, now, after hearing his words you’d risk being hurt—“I’d rather live for the hope of it all too,” you mumble and nod softly before you throw your arms around his neck.
Suguru returns your embrace and begins to caress the back of your neck.
“I want to say that I return your feelings,” you mutter and pull back to meet his gaze. “But I don’t think I could compete with what you just said, it won’t sound as beautiful. But just know that I do, I do like you, and even if it scares me, I’d rather risk that just to live a moment of happiness in our messed up world.”
Suguru smiles softly before you lean in and gently kiss him. He kisses you back and slowly slides his hands up to cup your cheeks. You try not to but you can’t help but smile in your kiss. That’s how happy you are.
You never want to pull away, you want to stay in this moment forever; here under the fireworks that light the sky.
However you do both pull away only because you did come with Satoru, and he could come looking for you at any moment. You’ve already stayed far long enough, and he should come looking for you soon.
“If I didnt know any better I’d say you planned this,” you tease him as you slide your hands down to wrap one hand around his.
“Or maybe you did this,” he rebuttals. “You invited me here.”
You giggle and shrug nonchalantly as you walk over to the cement barrier. “Well maybe,” you joke and smirk at him. Once you reach the barrier you lean over it to watch the sky again.
“What are we gonna do about Satoru?” You ask the inevitable. “Or should I say when are we going to tell him. I can’t hide this.”
Suguru sighs deeply. “Yeah me neither. Plus it’ll look even worse if we hide it.”
You drop your head. “I’m scared. I don’t wanna.” You groan. “We could maybe lock him away somewhere,” you suggest and peek over at him. “Maybe one of your curses can eat him. You can hide him in there.”
Suguru chuckles. “We can’t do that. No matter how much we try.”
You groan and pout.
“We don’t have to tell him today,” he assures you. “Let’s think about what to tell him first.”
You sigh and nod softly in agreement. “Yeah? You’ll be okay with that?”
Suguru nods. “Yeah.”
You smile and let your head fall on his shoulder.
“We just can’t hide it from him forever,” he mumbles.
You roll your eyes. “Yeah,” you whisper. “Unfortunately.” You watch the fireworks for only a few minutes until you pick your head up to take your phone out. “Let’s take a picture!”
Suguru groans. “Really?”
“Yes!” You exclaim and flip the phone up to then click on the camera option. “For memorabilia!” You throw your arm around him and squeeze your cheek on his as you get in the camera's aim. “Smile!” You do as you say and proceed to click the button.
The flash goes off, blinding you for a moment, but you still lower the phone and check the screen. When you can see again you notice that Suguru did put on a wide smile.
“Aw! We look so cute!” You exclaim and pull away to the side just in case Satoru is near. “But it’ll have to wait to be my wallpaper until after.” You smile wider as you look at your current wallpaper. “Which means good luck to you, Legolas. You get to stay for a while longer.” You giggle.
“Send me that,” Suguru interjects.
You snap your eyes to him and smirk. “My Orlando Bloom photo?”
“No,” Suguru snaps. “Not that. Our photo.”
You chuckle and nod since you were only teasing him.
The moment you hit send, footsteps approach so you quickly close your phone and try your best to lean away from Suguru as much as you can.
“There you guys are!” You hear Satoru shout. “Why did you guys leave?”
“We didn’t want to be in your way,” Suguru says back nonchalantly.
Satoru laughs and makes sure to shove himself in between Suguru and you. “Which reminds me,” your brother says and digs in his pocket. “Suguru, the girl's friend gave me her number so I could give it to you. We tried looking for you but you were already gone. So she gave me her number to pass on. Her name is Sachiko.”
You roll your eyes and just avoid looking at the interaction, instead you just watch the last bit of the firework show.
“Hey,” Satoru cuts in before he grabs your wrist and pulls it to him. “Where did you get this bracelet?”
You’ve been wearing it for a while now, he notices until now?
“Don’t worry about it,” you grumble and pull your wrist away. “Don’t you have some high school girls to go flirt with?”
Satoru snickers and pats your back. “Don’t be jealous sis, you’ll find some guy to annoy soon enough. Maybe Naoya Zen’in, huh? Dad wants to set that up.”
You gasp and snap your head to him to look at him with disgust and disbelief. “Ew, Satoru, I’d rather be eaten by a curse than do that. You can’t be serious.”
Satoru shrugs and expresses a smug look.
“Weren't you the one who basically threatened that poor worker just because he gave her his phone number?” Suguru points out.
You lean over the barrier and briefly meet Suguru’s gaze, noticing his frown before you both look at your brother.
“Yeah well, Naoya is a Zen’in. And with y/n being born with an abnormal technique in the Gojo clan, and being ranked as Special grade, they want to…you know,” he insinuates as he raises eyebrows. “Pair them up, they want them to do their duties as people a part of the big Sorcerer families—”
You cut him off to argue, “Satoru—”
“Ugh don’t worry,” he ends up cutting you off quickly. “I’ll talk our old man out of it. Naoya is an arrogant blockhead afterall.”
You grab your chest and sigh in relief. “Why didn’t you mention that earlier? Actually why did dad and you talk about some important decision without me?” You snap and lean towards him now, catching Suguru averting his gaze and watching the water with that same frown.
Is he jealous?
“‘Cause, one,” Satoru answers and faces you. “Dad knew you’d throw a fit, and two, like if I would ever let it happen, the Zen’in’s only want you for what you possess. I just wanted to see your reaction.”
You sigh again and smile before you grab onto your brother's arm. “Thank you,” you squeal.
As the firework show comes to an end you all begin to walk away now. “And just as uh, hypothetical, what kind of guy would you approve of?” You ask your brother.
Satoru hums and taps his chin. “Well…someone nice like Haibara.”
Suguru’s nice.
“Why?” Satoru asks. “Are you seeing someone? You’ve been acting weird lately.”
You try to act nonchalant so he won’t catch on, and just shake your head. “No. Not at all. Just curious.”
Satoru hums, but doesn’t probe any further thankfully. Which lets you think about him again actually. Would he approve of you and his best friend dating? Suguru’s nice, he trusts Suguru, so would he have no objections?
——
*A FEW DAYS LATER*
“So y/n do you want me to accompany you to meditate today?”
You look away from Suguru and then smile at your food without even acknowledging the fact that Nanami had just asked you a question.
“Y/N?” He calls out louder.
This time you snap your eyes over to him whilst you chew and look at your friend in confusion.
Nanami slightly squints his gaze on you before he sighs and repeats himself. “Do you want me to meditate with you today?”
You swallow back and then shake your head. “Oh no. Not today.” You glance at Suguru and then look back at Nanami. “I'm practicing my forms today, let’s do it tomorrow?”
Nanami squints harder and mutters back. “That’s fine.”
You offer him a wide smile, take your last bite of breakfast before you get up with your plate in hand. “All right, well, I'm out. Brother,” you acknowledge him.
Satoru hums and lazily throws you a wave before you walk over to dump your plates in the sink to then quickly get out.
Rather than stopping somewhere nearby, you go out of your way to go uphill near a pond that’s covered by trees. People hardly take their time to walk so far for casual training, the only person who mostly does is you because that’s where you can connect more to nature. Albeit right now your trip has nothing actually to do with training, or trying to find balance and strength within yourself. This trip is for something much more pleasurable.
However, just to keep up appearances you do shift your body into some forms that Satoru showed you. Just until Suguru shows up. Which isn’t that long after.
“How’s that going?” Suguru interjects as he reaches the hill.
You slowly turn and when you face him you slide a leg forward, while the other one is bent. You stretch your arm out and point your fist at him, whilst the other one is over you with your palm facing down.
“Well,” you say with a smile. “Let’s say if I had been using the elements you’d either be soaked or on fire.”
Suguru smiles as he hums. “Water or fire forms?” He asks.
“Both,” you say as you shift back to your normal stance and lower your arms. “I think I’ll use these more smoother forms for Fire and Water. Just so if I ever fight an enemy sorcerer they won’t know my next move.” You shrug and smirk.
Suguru finally breaks away from his spot and approaches you. “That’s smart,” he compliments you. “Of course anyone who knows you knows that when you use your fire your arms and hands glow.”
You roll your eyes. “Well, that’s why long sleeves exist, Sugar.”
Suguru scoffs at the nickname and when he’s before you he looks at you with a soft smile before he presses a kiss on the top of your head.
“How’d you escape my brother?” You probe as you grab the edge of his coat flap.
Suguru sighs. “It wasn’t easy, but I did remind him of some paperwork he needs to finish, so he should be kept busy for a while.”
You hum and hold his gaze for a moment before you throw your arms around him and smack your lips on his. Suguru snickers before he begins to kiss you.
However, he does falter and pull back, leaving you with your lips parted wanting more.
“What?” You breathe out.
Suguru caresses your cheek and licks his lips as he draws out a long breath through his nose. He doesn’t say anything, he stays close and just looks down.
You want to press him as to why he suddenly stopped, but that’s when it hits you, you remember his hesitance to kiss you before, so you tilt your head down to meet his gaze with a sweet smile.
“It’s okay,” you assure him. “You taste like honey.”
Suguru laughs breathlessly and keeps his eyes downcasted.
“Suguru,” you whisper against his lips. “It’s okay. I swear.” You press a kiss on the corner of his lips and he finally lifts his head to meet your gaze.
“Just give me a minute okay?” He mutters almost shamefully.
Without hesitance you nod and pull away, and right away you walk over to the tall and wide tree that has its branches hanging over the pond.
Suguru has been behaving like this ever since you kissed him. That night at the firework show he’d been completely taken by the heat of the moment, by the emotions that were shared so he didn’t hesitate. When the next day came and you found your escape from your friends and your brother to have time for yourselves, is when Suguru seemed to just remember the taste of cursed spirits so he just stopped kissing you. The next day was the same, you’d kiss, he’d be into it but it would then hit him and he’d freeze and just turn cold.
You can’t say you wouldn't be the same because you would if you had to swallow nasty cursed spirits. Which is why you leave him be after you assure him that you can’t taste what he does. You’ll repeat yourself for how many times you have to just so he can feel comfort in his discomfort.
For now though, you let him have his time and stop before the old tree.
“Watch this,” you say over your shoulder before you lift your finger up and quickly summon fire to the tip.
Suguru doesn’t question you, he just walks over to you to watch as you shape the fire like a blade before you begin to burn something on the bark.
“Damaging school property?” Suguru teases in a nonchalant tone. “Perhaps this is where we end things.”
You snicker and finish carving your initial and move onto carving a plus sign. After that’s marked you then quickly carve an S before you turn and show off your hard work.
“Look,” you grin and point to the initials. “We’ll forever be marked here.”
A happy smile spreads on Suguru’s lips before he closes the gap between the both of you. “You forgot something.” He points out before he puts his palm out. “Summon the fire again.”
You look at him curiously and with excitement and don’t wait to do as he says. When your fire is once again shaped like a blade over your finger, Suguru wraps his hand around your hand and drags your finger towards the tree. Once the flame begins to burn the space below your initials, he moves your hand in the shape of a heart.
It’s kind of sloppy, but it’s still identifiable and it still makes butterflies flutter in your stomach.
“Now it’s complete,” he says when he pulls your hand back.
You extinguish the flames and smile with awe only for a second because you then throw your arms around his neck and begin to kiss him again.
This time Suguru doesn’t pull back. Or at least not right away, he does pull back, but you quickly assure him.
“It’s okay, I’m serious, you taste like the breakfast you had. Even if you had just swallowed ten cursed spirits I wouldn't care,” you assure him. “I’d still kiss you if you let me.”
Suguru looks into your eyes as he takes in what you said. When your sweet, or desperate words finally sink in, he smiles softly before he kisses you first now; gently but deeply.
You’re so taken by the heat of the moment, by your confession that you pull him back towards the tree, and he presses you against it as you can’t seem to part away from one another. You move in sync, and don’t even pull back to catch your breaths, you just make out under the tree.
That is until suddenly the sound of a voice startles you. “Holy shit!”
Suguru and you rip away from one another, and as he steps back you see Shoko and Nanami.
It’s…Shoko and Nanami! They saw you!
“I knew it,” Nanami mumbles under his breath.
“Since—”
“It’s not what it looks like,” you cut Shoko off and share a panicked look with Suguru.
Shoko continues to laugh, and Nanami rebuttals. “Not what it looks like? What? Did you lose something in each other's mouths, or?”
You part your lips to try and find some excuse, but you just continue to share panicked looks with Suguru as your face begins to burn.
“Look we haven’t told Satoru,” Suguru finally finds what to say. “So please don’t make a big deal out of this.”
Shoko’s camera shutter goes off and you only realize she took a picure after the deed was done.
“Shoko,” Suguru hisses.
“Satoru is going to freak,” you add panicked. “So please just keep this a secret until we tell my brother.” You plead them both, but rush over to Shoko to grab her arm and basically beg her. “Please. Shoko, Nanamin.”
“Don’t call me that,” said guy grumbles. “And well…what do I gain from snitching? Nothing. Plus I don’t really care anymore. Just so you guys know though, you guys suck at keeping this all a secret.”
You groan and now look to Shoko. “Please,” you continue to plead. “Shoko. Please.”
Said girl looks between Suguru and you and then looks down at the photo she caught. “Well,” she says playfully.
“Shoko,” Suguru insists.
She sighs and snickers before facing you. “Fine. I’ll keep my mouth shut.”
You sigh with relief and hug her in return. “Thank you, and I swear you won’t need to keep it a secret for long. Just until we—”
“Grow some balls?” She cuts in and snickers. “Yeah, yeah, I get it. Now why don’t we go talk, just you and me? Suguru, you don’t mind, do you?” She smirks.
“No why would I?” He asks.
Shoko shrugs. “Well just making sure you guys don’t want to keep stuffing each other's tongue down your throats.”
“Tsk.”
Shoko laughs and then slips away from your hold to instead take your hand in hers.

hi again 🤭 seungcheol + #11 #19 + angst,fluff ???? 🤍
because you’re my breath — c. seungcheol
11. "What part of 'I want you, and only you' do you not understand?" + 19. "I chose to stay then, and I choose to stay now."
info: heavily inspired by yawn & hug (seventeen) + slight proofreaded.
author's note: uhhhh, so.... about the fluff.... i'm sorry. this is just too fluffy i love it. anyway! please reblog/like and let me know what you think :D
A SIGH. — it has been a few days since you left home to feed into your 'i want to feel alive like i'm 25 again' feelings. as much as you would like to reach out for a hand to your family and friends, the pride you have in yourself is much bigger. maybe this is the reason your parents hadn't fought with you to stay home, near them and their support. maybe this is the reason your closest friends from college hasn't contact with you, to ask if life is treating you well. but you only hope those are just your thinking.
A YAWN. — like other nights, you lay on the hard floor, cradling yourself to spread the tiny warmth you brought with you since you left. you could laugh at your own situation, at your whole being. "you're pathetic," you snicker to yourself and whoever is out there that land you in this situation. you close your eyes, hoping to wake up to a better tomorrow. but you didn't.
FLASHBACK. — "you're pathetic, choi seungcheol!" the man in front of you could only stare in pity. "please, calm down. this is not—" "you." you lift your finger to point at him. you tried to calm down; however, you were too far enraged.
"how dare you! how dare you just leave me like this! you," you felt your eyes watering, causing you to blink repetitively. something inside you was afraid for him to see you like this, crying out because of him. you felt your hands failing you too, but you refused to let them down.
"you," you felt a drop of a tear fell. "you said the exact thing, choi seungcheol." another drop fell.
"what part of 'i want you, and only you' do you not understand?" the man didn't respond and you were glad. "let me fucking ask you. why, just why do you say those empty words to me?" you felt your voice failing too. "all i want is a fucking answer. please just tell me, you would always tell me these things!"
through your teary eyes, you saw him open his mouth.
"who—" you couldn't bare to hear his voice again, igniting another heart wrenching scream from you. you can't take it. it burned. it was ripping, eating you from the inside out.
"what kind of a idiot was i to believe your, 'i chose to stay then, and i choose to stay now.'?" you spoke again. "you said you'll stay. you said you'll be with me. you said you'll never leave. you, you said you'll love me, even if death do us apart."
AWAKE. — what has feel like a fight with hell, you immediately let your eyes wide open, wanting to stop whatever you experienced.
another reason for your sleepless nights were due to the constant flashback you have. perhaps you miss your lover, choi seungcheol and your stupid little arguments which turns into a long night of a deep kiss, filled with love. and a hug that resolves it all.
you nod. yeah, it is probably that. however, you still couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling. whatever it is, you close your eyelids again.
A BREATH. — a soft mutter came, "thankfully we found..." and went.
it came, "...has this been going on for..." and went.
it came, ".....on a random person....." and went.
it came one last time, "i'm sorry, but we couldn't...." and went.
A HUG. — with a hope that everything would fade away, you finally drift into your sleep again; with a slight feeling of seungcheol's embrace— not for the last time, but forever. even when death do you both on this earth.

The Domestic Job
Jaune/Neo/Adam: *Sitting around their latest hideout when Cinder walks in with her scroll.*
Cinder: Well, after a bit of digging, it seems that our most lucrative opportunity lies in a certain... Hit. The target is worth a tidy sum of $25,000, enough to satisfy our needs for the time being.
Adam: A Hit, huh? Are we finally dropping that “No Killing” rule?
Neo: *Gasps with excitement.*
Jaune: No! We’re not. Right?
Cinder: All the client requests is that the target is “out of the picture”, the exact details will be up to us.
Jaune: *Sigh of relief*
Adam: Tsk.
Neo: *Pouts*
Cinder: So, the target is Asher Cross. Male, caucasian, mid forties, unemployed, with a limp in his right knee. He frequents bars and brothels, and is known to physically abuse his wife, Luanne Cross. Typical scum, really.
Jaune: Agreed, but why do I feel like there’s about to be a catch?
Cinder: Asher Cross is a former Huntsman, forced into an early retirement after an accident with his leg. Now he collects Huntsman Relief Checks and spends it all on booze and women.
Adam: Of course it couldn’t be that easy.
Neo: *Smacks the table, then hand signs with a look of absolute disgust*
Jaune: Neo just pointed out that $25,000 is four times less than the market rates on Hits against Huntsmen… I hate that you know that off the top of your head.
Neo: *Winks at Jaune*
Adam: Her point still stands, $25k is a steep price to go after a Huntsman, retired or not. It’s down right idiotic to go after a Huntsman for $25k and NOT kill him. It’s just asking for us to get caught.
Cinder: Our client has limited funds, and $25,000 is the maximum amount they can afford. Besides, killing Asher would only lead to a murder investigation that would make our client the prime suspect. It's worth noting that our client is Luanne's brother, who has tried to help her in the past by calling the police, offering her a place to stay, and even confronting Asher, which led to our client being hospitalized. However, Luanne is too afraid to press charges against her abusive husband, and Asher has made it clear that he will kill our client if he intervenes again.
Jaune: *Shakes his head* This Asher guy used to be a Huntsman? How do you go from hunting monsters to abusing an innocent woman?
Adam: *Shrugs* Must be losing his status as a Huntsman had something to do with it. When you're used to having power, it can be tough to lose it all at once. He's just holding onto what little he has left and taking out his frustration on those around him.
Cinder/Jaune/Neo: *Stare pointedly at Adam*
Adam: …What?
Jaune: So, what's the plan? Do we corner Asher, intimidate him into leaving, and tell him never to return?
Cinder: *Shakes her head* That's too risky. Even if we succeed in scaring him off, there's a good chance he'll just come back and continue abusing Luanne, or worse.
Neo: *Hand signs with some conjured subtitles* But what if Asher just happened to... disappear? *Peace signs and then disappears from view*
Adam: A disappearance is just as suspicious as a murder, and it would be a much bigger hassle for us if we had to drag him somewhere he couldn't make it back from. If we approach this directly Asher will put up a fight and bring every cop in the city into our mess. I can handle a crippled Huntsman any day of the week, but I’d rather not get the police involved.
Jaune: …What if we did get the police involved?
Cinder: That's a risky move, Jaune. We're criminals, remember? We're not exactly on good terms with the law. *Crosses her arms with a hint of a smile* Do you have something particularly in mind?
Jaune: *Sly smile* Oh yeah, I’ve got something in mind.
~O~O~O~O~O~
Asher: *Sitting at a bar, drinking*
Cinder: Is this seat taken? *Wearing a skimpy qi-pao*
Asher: *oggles her figure* Uh, no, go ahead.
Cinder: Thanks, Handsome. *Sits down and scoots close to him* What brings you here tonight?
Asher: *Shrugs* Just needed a break from the daily grind, I guess. What about you?
Cinder: *Coy smile* Oh, I'm just passing through. Thought I'd stop in for a drink and see what kind of trouble I could get into. *Brushes hand against his arm*
Asher: *Greasy grin* Well, you certainly look like you're up for some trouble.
Cinder: *Dark chuckle* You have no idea~.
~O~O~O~O~O~
CRASH!
Luanne: A-Asher is that you? *Walks into the living room*
Mr.Muffins: Meow! *Sitting next to a broken vase*
Luanne: Oh Mr. Muffins, what did you do? I-I better clean this up before Asher gets home. *Walks off towards kitchen*
Neo: *Reappears perched on the fireplace mantle* Whew! *Grabs Asher’s Huntsman Weapon mounted above the mantle and quietly drops down next to Mr. Mittens*
Mr.Mittens: Mrow
Neo:
Tumblr media
Neo: *Disappears from view*
~O~O~O~O~O~
Cinder: *Opens motel room door* Make yourself at home~.
Asher: *Drunkenly walks in* Not exactly a five-star hotel, but it’ll do. How do you wanna get started, darlin’?
Cinder: You… *Pulls up a chair* Just sit back… *Pushes Asher back into the chair* And enjoy yourself~ *Gets on her knees in front of the chair.*
Asher: *Slimy smile* I knew you were a dirty little slut the moment I laid eyes on you.
Cinder: *Trying to not burn him alive for calling her a slut, and undoes his belt and zipper* Well, what can I say? I felt like we really hit things off~
Jaune: *Sneaks up from behind and bashes Asher in the back of his head with his shield*
WHAM!
Asher: *Topples over in the chair, crashing to the ground unconscious and with his pants down around his ankles*
Jaune: Are you feeling proud of yourself for that pun?
Cinder: Very. *Stands up and kicks Asher to make sure he stays out* Got a smile out of you, didn't it? Admit it, you think I’m funny.
Jaune: *Chuckles* I'll admit, you have a twisted sense of humor. But let’s hurry and take some reference photos before we blow our chance.
Cinder: Of course, move him onto his back so I can… *Pauses than makes a coy smile* Jaune, did you just make a dirty pun?
Jaune: *Thinks then blushes* J-just take the pictures already!
~O~O~O~O~O~
Adam: *Standing in an alley with an empty duffle bag, watching out for any signs of trouble*
Neo: *Appears in flash of broken glass and takes a bow*
Adam: Took you long enough. You got it?
Neo: *Takes off her bowler cap, reaches in, and pulls out Asher’s Weapon*
Adam: *Grabs it and starts inspecting it* Assault Rifle. 30 round mag, .224 calibre, chainsaw bayonet. I can work this. Jaune and Cinder sent you the reference photos yet?
Neo: *Nods, pulls out her scroll, and starts looking through images as she starts conjuring illusions onto Adam. She signifies she’s done when she gives a chefs kiss with her fingers*
Adam: How do I look?
Neo: *Conjures a mirror, showing Adam disguised as Asher Cross. Subtitles spawn under the mirror* You look like a huge asshole.
Adam: *Pulls back the slide on the weapon* Perfect. *Starts marching out the alley and across the street*
Neo: *Whistles for Adam’s attention*
Adam: What?!
Neo: *Smacks her right leg a few times and hobbles with a limp a few feet*
Adam: … Oh right! Bum leg. Got it. *Continues forward with a limp this time, bursting through the front doors of a store and fires his gun off* OPEN THE CASH REGISTER, NOW!!
~O~O~O~O~O~
Police: *Burst down the door to the motel room*
Asher: *Jolts awake, feeling incredibly concussed, laying next to several empty bottles of booze, his signature weapon out of ammo, and a duffle bag full of stolen money* W-Wha-
Police: LOOK OUT HE’S GOT A WEAPON! *Fires taser*
Asher: BZZZZZZTTTT!!!
~O~O~O~O~O~
Jaune/Cinder/Adam/Neo: *Standing around on a rooftop across the street from the motel, watching Asher get put in the back of an armored police truck fully restrained and muzzled*
Cinder: *Hangs up her Scroll* That was the client. He’s relayed his satisfaction with our work and has sent us the money in full. Your plan worked out pretty well, Jaune.
Neo: *Rubs her hands together as dollar signs rain around her*
Jaune: I’m just glad we did it with almost no one else getting hurt! As in almost because Adam decided to clock the store’s owner with a rifle, which I do not approve of.
Adam: *Scoffs* As if I live and breathe for your approval, Huntsman. That old man happened to have a “No Faunus” sign on their place of business and I just wanted to make sure Asher got his time in prison with an extra “Assault with a deadly weapon” charge.
Jaune: Oh. Well, in that case then no one that didn’t deserve it got hurt! Good job team!

It's in his eyes
Tumblr media
Jake Seresin x Y/N Trace
Summary: you met Jake at a masked party and got lost in his eyes, falling for him, hard. And Jake, well he was a lovesick puppy too after the party.
A/N: just look at the man's eyes, got distracted by the gif everytime I was trying to write. And that cute face
Tumblr media
"Y/N, can you please stop talking about your zorro, I'm actually glad I was sick during the Halloween party, can we please enjoy the beach? I actually want to enjoy quality time with my little sister."
"Sorry Nat, it's just, he was so perfect, his eyes..." and you got lost again in the memory of a couple of nights ago.
You had just arrived in San Diego, following the footsteps of your bigger sister Natasha. You both had the dream to become a Naval aviator, but she was the only one achieving the dream, with your 4'11 you didn't pass the requirements. Still not wanting to bury your dream to work with planes, you became flight technician, the best one existing. So this you got transferred too to San Diego, getting reunited with your sister.
After getting settled in in your shared appartement with your sister she had a week off, starting your quality time with the annual Halloween party at the Hard Deck. Of course Nat being Nat, she got sick on her first day off, something she always had, like her body knew when it didn't need to perform.
Since it was a masked party, she still insisted you to go and have fun. Which you definitely had. Being a part of the Trace family meant the best costumes, or in this case you went as a pumpkin, a cute one. It had a little puffy orange body and the eye mask as the top of the pumpkin.
During the party you had met this Zorro by remarking he was very fake for not wearing the moustache and like that you two got talking throughout the whole night. But your breath got taking away by his piercing beautiful green eyes with this slight darker green shade on the edge. He had also had a good physique, but it were his eyes you got distracted by. Both liking the mystery, talking about everything except your names and occupation.
When you got outside and sat under the light, there was this comfortable silence between the two of you staring in each other's eyes, getting lost in them.
"I can get lost in your eyes" you had blurted out loud.
Jake's POV
"Jake can you please stop talking about your pumpkin, you should've asked her number, idiot. You know there's a big chance you're never going to see her again." Coyote complained to his friend who was whining over and over again about this girl he met a couple of days ago on the Halloween party. Hangman was normally not the type for relationships, but he has never been this head over heels for a girl.
He couldn't get her out of his head, every second was dedicated to her. She was so small compared to him, looking adorable in that cute pumpkin costume, remarking him on his incomplete costume with that sweet voice. And oh those beautiful big brown orbs. She had something said about his eyes, but he couldn't give a compliment back, he felt too lost looking at her, adoring the sight in front of him. So he let his body speak as he cupped her small face in his hands and kissed her softly. He kissed her over and over again in between talking and staring in each other's eyes until she had to leave.
"Jake? Bagman? Hello, earth speaking!" Jake snapped out of his thoughts, "man, you've got it bad." Rooster said while patting him on his back. "But did you see her complete face? Tell me you at least got her name?"
"No" Jake whispered softly "but I can recognise her eyes out of a thousand."
"Do I really have to go with you?" You nagged at your sister.
"Never thought I would say this, but I think you're in love man. Phoenix is lucky she has to miss your whining."
Tumblr media
"Yes, stop being such a baby. You're coming with me, meet my coworkers, maybe you will work on one of their planes in the near future. Stop whining and woman up."
"Okay" you give up, Nat won this battle.
"Jake, shut up, will you!" You hear a male voice say while entering the Hard Deck.
"Didn't miss that while catching up with you," Nat whispered. "Everyone, this is my little sister, Y/N, she just transferred here, she's the best technician existing."
"Wait, there are two Traces? And there is a cute one?" Coyote remarked.
"Coyote! She's off-" before she could finish, Jake had woken up from his pity party he was throwing for himself.
"Pumpkin?" Jake had looked up at the word 'cute' and not believing his eyes that his adorable pumpkin had landed in front of him, like an angel descending from heaven.
"Zorro without the moustache?" You had recognized those beautiful green anywhere, your heartbeat rised with seeing him, felling a little bit dizzy. Within the second Jake had wrapped you in a tight hug, never wanting to let go of you. You wiggled yourself out of the needing embrace to start kissing him. You had missed him like crazy.
"Bagman? What? My sister? Y/N, no!" Both your and Jake's action leaving your sister shocked. She never guessed the sweet man you described was Hangman.
"So your sister is the love of Hangman's life, didn't see that one coming." Rooster said with a small laugh.
Jake had snapped out of the world where only you and him existed and stopped kissing, so he could tug you to your sister. "I'm going to do this the right way. Phoenix, can I take your sister out on a date?"
"What no, stay away from her! You're not gonna corrupt her!"
"Come on Phoenix, Bagman here has been sulking ever since the party. Believe us when we say that he's in love with your sister." Rooster was surprisingly defending Hangman for once.
"Phoenix, look at the bright side, your sister can learn him some manners." Bob added in Hangman's defense.
"No! Go date him yourself, I expected better from you Bob."
"Have you looked at him? Hangman has never been like this for someone, look at the lovesick puppy and look at your sister." Coyote was right, no one had seen Hangman swoon for a girl. The softness appearing in his eyes when he was talking about her, the way he was genuinely regretting letting you go that night. He would have laughed in your face when someone would've said two weeks ago he would be thinking now about buying a house with someone, going on the cheesiest dates, wanting to marry her and having kids with her. And right now he didn't want to think about anything else. If it was possible he would do it all at the same time.
"You have my permission, but don't make me regret this Hangman, she's my little sister."
"Y/N, would you like to go on an official date with me, like right now?"
"Yes, yes!" You were smiling from ear to ear.
"Nat, you said I might work on one if their planes, I guess you were right." You smirked at your sister and running off quickly with Jake to the beach.

you've really gone and done it this time, eggman...
falling stars fic masterpost
Sonic crossed his arms and tapped his foot. Something was a little off about what Eggman was saying, he just didn't know what. "Alright, Mr. Ivo," Sonic said. "Let's say we believe you. How are you gonna fix it? Stripes ain't like the rest of your toys--you can't just hook him up to some metal box for system maintenance."
Eggman immediately regretted telling Sonic his first name. He wasn't expecting the rat to actually use it, and hearing it come out of his mouth made him wince. He couldn't snap, though. Not until they had taken the bait. "Obviously not," he said, offended at Sonic's implication that he would even entertain such an idiotic idea. "The Ultimate Lifeform requires a more gentle touch than a mere robot!"
Sonic's foot stopped tapping. Shadow's ear flicked.
Eggman pushed up his glasses, covering up his sinister smile with his hand. He had found the right words.
After clearing his throat, Eggman said, "I feared something like this might happen. That's why I sent Omega to look for you both, in an attempt to stop the inevitable. Lucky for you, he found you just in time." The doctor turned around to face a computer console that was sticking out of the ground. His fingers flew over the keyboard, and a collection of images appeared in a collage on the screen. "Now, if you look here--"
"Hey, that's us!"
"What's the meaning of this, Doctor?"
Eggman gritted his teeth. Then, he turned back around to face Sonic and Shadow, who were now wearing identical expressions of irritation. "As I was saying," he said, barely holding back his own annoyance, "if you look here, you'll see the report released by the buffoons at G.U.N. Take a close look at that picture there--notice anything particular about it?"
The two hedgehogs looked at the picture Eggman was pointing at. It wasn't one of the ones that had them in it. Instead, it was a picture of a bat Mobian. She was smiling for the camera, but it didn't quite reach her eyes, and on her wrists she wore two gold bracelets.
Sonic looked away from the picture. "I don't see what's so special about it," he said. "It's just some lady."
But Shadow was still looking up at the screen intently. He was looking at those bracelets and rubbing his own wrists idly. "It's not about her," he said slowly. "Yes, I think I know. You're referring to those bands, aren't you, Doctor?"
With a clap of his hands, Eggman replied, "Precisely! Those bands--or lack thereof--are the reason why your body is currently destroying itself. You see, when you fell from space, you didn't lose just your memories… you lost your inhibitor rings, as well. Without them, it's only a matter of time before you succumb to your inner Chaos Energy!"
"So, we gotta find that lady!" Sonic said. He looked ready to bolt out the door right then and there. "You know her, right? It shouldn't be too hard. And I'm sure once we tell her what's up, she'll hand over the--"
"I'm afraid it's not that simple," Eggman interrupted. "You see, that woman is a thief. She takes, not gives. If you were to try to convince her to give back those inhibitors, she would refuse. Of course, that's assuming you'd even be able to find her in the first place! Rabble like her tend to disappear whenever they see fit."
Shadow frowned. "Then what do you propose we do?"
Eggman's grin returned. It was bigger and wider than ever. "Why, I'm glad you asked, Shadow. I brought you down here for a reason--it's because I had something prepared. Prepared for you, in the case that Omega was successful, and delivered you to me alive, instead of dropping off your corpse."
Sonic grimaced. Was the situation really that bad? Of course, he knew something was wrong. He'd known Stripes was in danger from the moment he'd dropped back in that ghost town. But to think that if they hadn't found their way here in time, then his friend would be dead, well, he didn't really want to think about that at all, to be honest.
The doctor faced the computer console again. He dispelled the photographs from the screen with a single push of a button, and then opened an application titled "EGGTECH INCUBATOR." After the program finished loading, a loud buzzer went off in the room, and the floor to the left of the console opened up. A green egg-shaped pod appeared from the new gap in the floor, and it quickly rose up before settling into place with a soft click.
Eggman gestured grandly to the pod. To Shadow, he said, "With this device, I will be able to restrain the Chaos Energy wreaking havoc within you. It's not a permanent solution, but it will allow me time to recreate the inhibitors you lost, and prevent any more harm from coming to you."
When he looked at the pod, Shadow felt a little apprehensive. "How long will it take before you're able to complete the replacements?" he asked.
Eggman chuckled. "Oh, not long at all!" he said with an air of confidence that was realer than anything he'd said in the past ten minutes. "As a matter of fact, I can even knock out two birds with one stone." He turned to Sonic, then, his eyes glinting deviously behind his glasses. "It would be remiss of me, as a doctor, to ignore what's troubling you. While our friend is stabilizing down here, I'd like to see what I can do for that pesky leg of yours."
Sonic thought about refusing. He already had the brace, and with Buggy's help, getting around wasn't really a problem. Besides, bones didn't stay broken forever. Eventually, they would heal on their own. It's just that "eventually," for Sonic, might as well have been an eternity. He wanted to be able to move around freely, without the threat of pain, and he didn't want to have to rely on anyone to be able to do it.
He didn't even remember what it felt like--true freedom of motion. And he didn't want to wait for it.
He wanted it now. Right now.
"Sounds like a plan," Sonic said. He flashed Eggman a thumbs up. "You just lead the way, and I'm there!"
Shadow was struck by Eggman's generosity. It was strange, but not unwelcome. Except for a few people at the Starfall Festival, everyone they'd met so far seemed to have it out for them. Although, if the doctor was also an enemy of G.U.N.'s, then it made sense for him to be on their side.
Eggman motioned for Shadow to come forward. "Wonderful… now, Shadow, if you would just step right up here, I will get started on your new inhibitors once I've seen to Sonic's leg. In the meantime, I'll have Omega keep you company while this machine returns your Chaos Energy levels to normal…"
But Shadow didn't move immediately. He hesitated. Despite the sensibility of Eggman's plan, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was… off… about it. About him. Thinking about it too hard made his head hurt, though. It was his damned fever. The fog it created in his brain was making it hard to think in general.
Sonic set his hand on Shadow's shoulder. He gave him a reassuring smile. "I'll be here when you get out, okay?"
Shadow sighed. He shook off Sonic's hand, but still gave him a small nod in return. Then, the dark hedgehog followed Eggman's instructions, and stepped into the pod. The cool green liquid soothed his burning skin, and his eyes slipped closed when Eggman sealed the hatch. The last thing he heard before his consciousness completely faded away was Omega stomping back into the room.
The heavy blast door followed shortly afterwards, dropping down from the ceiling to the floor with a series of noisy clanks. Then, with one final clunk, it locked. And Shadow and Omega were locked inside.
Meanwhile, Eggman took Sonic upstairs. Buggy kept its eyes trained on the floor while it drove Sonic through the long hallways of the Brain Bowl. Yes, apparently, this was the real Sonic after all. The little robot couldn't believe it. And it definitely didn't want to, either, since that fact made Eggman furious with it.
The weight of its failure weighed heavily on the motobug, and it feared for what Eggman was going to do to it once Sonic was no longer around.
Sonic, not understanding why his little buddy was trembling so much, rubbed the robot's cheek with his thumb.
Unfortunately, this just made it feel worse.
Then, finally, the three of them reached their destination: a big white room with computers lined up against the walls, and a big green tank in the middle of the floor. Long, thick cables stretched down from the ceiling and connected to the tank, while bubbles rose from the liquid inside. Other than the water and bubbles, though, the tank was empty.
"Here we are," Eggman said. He tapped his fingers together in excitement. "It's been awhile since I was able to use this technology. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to wipe off the dust, Sonic!"
"Not really feelin' Sonic," Sonic said. The use of his old name made him feel strange. There was so much history there that he didn't know, it almost felt like he was stealing it or something. "Maybe later. But for right now, it's Blue. Alright?"
Eggman's expression was unreadable. "Certainly, Blue," the doctor said, a little tightly. If Sonic felt weird being called Sonic, then Eggman felt even weirder not being able to call his arch nemesis by his real name. "In any case," the doctor continued, his voice smoother now, "let's get started, shall we? Those broken bones won't fix themselves! Oh-ho-ho!"
Sonic was surprised when Eggman lifted him off of the motobug and threw him into the big tank in the middle of the room. He landed in the dark green water with a SPLASH! However, it wasn't until the top of the tank slid shut that he felt dread start to creep into his heart, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he was now submerged underwater. No, it was the look on Eggman's face.
It was so cruel. And more than that--he looked so incredibly, insufferably pleased with himself.
"Imagine my surprise," he began, all traces of kindness gone from his voice, "when you didn't come back after your fight with that… unruly space lizard. Imagine," he repeated, his face cast entirely in shadow, "the possibility of your demise. Not by my hands--no, not how it should've been. But instead, by your own selfless actions, chasing after that blasted Project Shadow! You must understand, my dear friend, how utterly unacceptable that possibility was."
Sonic stared at Eggman through the glass, his hands pressed up against the wall of the tank.
This was bad.
This was really, really bad.
He looked around for a way out, but the smooth walls of the tank offered no options. He was trapped.
Eggman continued, "There was only one thing I could do. I had to send my creations to look for you--to scour the planet, all to find one little pain in my nose hairs! And in the end, I was right to doubt your downfall. Because here you are. And I've finally got you right where I want you!" He smirked victoriously. Then, he walked over to one of the computers against the wall.
"Your little friend is just an added bonus."
Sonic's eyes widened. Stripes. What was this twisted doctor going to do with--?!
"Ah, but I'm getting ahead of myself." Eggman shook his head. Then, he pressed one last key before moving in front of the tank, his hands clasped behind his back once more. He grinned at Sonic, his teeth glinting like fangs in the green light. "This won't hurt… for long!"

Ghost x Soap mission aftermath. Confessions ensue. 1.3k of idiots in love. Fluff, no smut.
The room was only dimly lit. Soap sat side by side with Ghost. Too close into the bigger mans personal space, as always. Their fatigue and battle worn faces illuminated by the soft glow of the last rays of sunshine peering through the blinds. The tension in the air was palpable.
Soap sighed, rubbing his temples. "That was a close one, eh? I thought we were done for back there." Ghost nodded slowly, his mask hiding any hint of emotion. "Yeah." It was a simple answer. What Johnny didn't know though was how much he actually beat himself up for what happened. It would have been his fault if anything happened to his sergeant. Just because his mind was occupied with other thoughts than the mission. With him.
Soap turned to face him, his eyes narrowing with concern. "Y'know you can talk to me, aye? We've been through hell together, and I can see something's eating at ye. And it's not just the mission."
Ghosts gaze shifted, his masked face giving away nothing. "Soap, you don't understand. There are things... I can't share. Burdens I have to carry alone."
The younger mans energetic demeanor faded, replaced by a seriousness that surprised even him. "You don't have to carry them alone, LT. We're a team. I thought we were past keeping secrets from each other."
A heavy silence hung in the air before Ghost finally sighed, his broad shoulders slumping ever so slightly. With a slow and deliberate movement, he reached up and pulled at his mask. As it fell away together with the balaclava, revealing his features and scars decorating them, Soaps breath got caught in his throat.
"Simon…" Soap whispered, his voice barely audible. He couldn't tear his gaze away from his face, awestruck by the vulnerability he saw for the first time.
Ghosts voice was low and rough, tinged with a mix of anxiety and relief. "I've worn this mask for so long, Johnny. It's become a part of me, a shield against the world. But you... you've always managed to slip past it."
Soaps heart raced as he met the tired gaze, his own feelings laid bare. "Simon, I… Never realized how much I've wanted to see yer face, to know the real you. I-I mean…" He stumbled a little over his words. "I accept you with every part and side you have! I am happy about every new piece you let me discover. 's just…"
The tall mans lips twitched into the faintest hint of a smile. "You've always seen through me, haven't you?"
Johnny reached out, his fingers trembling as they brushed against Simons cheek. Over one of the many scars. "Yeah, and what I see is someone incredibly strong, someone who's been there for me in ways I can't even describe."
Simons hand covered Soaps. His touch surprisingly gentle. "Johnny, there's something else I need to tell you. Something I've been afraid to admit. But after today I'm not sure how much time we still have left like this."
Johnnys eyes searched Ghosts. Simons. His heart pounding in anticipation. "What is it?"
Ghost took a deep breath, his voice steady despite the vulnerability he was revealing. "I care about you more than I should. More than I thought I could. More than a lieutenant is supposed to about a sergeant."
Soaps gaze softened, his own hand squeezing Ghosts. "I care about you too, Simon."
"Johnny," His voice was barely above a whisper, "there's something you need to understand. I've spent years building walls, keeping people at arm's length, because I didn't want anyone to see my weaknesses. I couldn't let anyone in because they're all leaving. I've lost them all before and I can't do it again. I can't."
The younger mans heart ached at the fear he saw in those deep, dark eyes. "Simon, you don't have to be strong all the time. I've seen your strength and I've seen you being hurt too. You're allowed to lean on someone. If anyone then it should be you who's being taken care of for once."
Ghosts jaw tightened, a battle waging within him. "It's not that simple, Johnny. What if I let you in, let myself be vulnerable and then I can't protect you when you need me most?"
Soaps voice was gentle yet determined. "Protecting me doesn't mean you have to hide who you are. I want to know you, all of you, even the parts you consider ugly or being weaknesses."
"And what if I can't give you what you deserve? What if I'm not enough for you?"
Slowly but surely the scots voice was laced with frustration. "Do you think so little of me that you believe I'd walk away just because things get tough? I want you. All of you. Flaws and everything."
A tense silence followed, each word echoing in the small room. Brown eyes searched Soaps face, his defenses slowly crumbling. "You have no idea how much I've wanted to hear you say that." His voice had a rasp to it. Keeping it low.
Soap reached out, his fingers tracing Simons jawline with a tenderness that sent shivers down his spine. "Then let me say it again. I want you. Ghost or Simon. I'm not going anywhere."
"I don't know if I can be what you deserve. I'm scared I'll let you down. I'm not good with feelings. I'm not a good person. I'm difficult."
"Love isn't about being perfect. 's about being there for each other, even when things get messy. And I'm pretty sure we've proven countless times that we got each others back on and off the field."
The older mans heart felt like it was on the edge of a precipice, the ground shifting beneath him. Slowly, he reached out, his hand finding Soaps. "I want to be with you, Johnny. I'm just... terrified."
The smile he received was tender, the grip on his hand reassuring. "We'll be terrified together then."
As their eyes locked, a tension that had been building for years finally snapped. In that charged moment, Simons hand moved, his fingers gentle yet deliberate as they cupped Soaps cheek. It was a touch that held years of suppressed feelings, a touch that shattered the walls Ghost had built around himself. Johnny leaned into the touch, his eyes closing as he savored the warmth of the hand against his skin.
Their foreheads touched, the space between them filled with an electric energy that defied words. A rough thumb brushed against the corner of Soaps lips, a tender gesture that spoke volumes. And then their lips met.
The kiss started hesitantly, a delicate exploration of the unknown. The bigger mans lips were soft against Soaps, a stark contrast to the hardened exterior he had always projected. It was a kiss that held layers of meaning. A silent confession of the love they had both denied and unspoken feelings that had simmered beneath the surface for far too long.
As the kiss deepened, the world around them faded into insignificance. Simons other hand found its place on Johnnys waist, pulling him closer as their bodies moved in sync with the rhythm of their heartbeats. Careful fingers tangled in the hair at the nape of Ghosts neck, his touch sending shivers down his spine.
The kiss was a dance of emotions. A mixture of longing, fear, and a burning desire to bridge the gap that had kept them apart. Ghosts walls crumbled, his vulnerability laid bare as he poured his feelings into the kiss. Letting Simon have this moment. The scots heart raced. Every touch, every sigh was a testament to the unspoken connection they had shared for so long.
When they finally pulled away, their breaths were ragged, their eyes locked in a gaze that held a newfound depth. Both men wore shy smiles, a new understanding passing between them. "I'm scared, Johnny. Scared of losing you, scared of what this could mean."
Soaps fingers intertwined with Ghosts. "We'll face whatever comes together, just like we always have. And when it's just us… No more masks, no more secrets."

hello! it's me again 😅 I showed the Luke headcannons you made to my sister, she really liked it and wants SOO bad you to make one of Lynn jr (boy) X Y/N, can you do it? thank you again 😁
Man I sure will
Tumblr media
Note: I definitely started spiraling towards the end lol
Lynn would never admit his crush on you, his younger sister's best friend. It was stupid, unthinkable, idiotic. He'd soon rather quit sports than admit to himself that he has a childish crush. Even then though, he couldn't help when his eyes wandered.
If he knew you were in the room, he would unconsciously look for you. When he finally spotted you, he would stare until someone pointed it out, and then he'd quickly look away. He couldn't help a gooey feeling that would rise in his chest when he'd see you with another guy.
But, it didn't make sense, because you weren't together. You didn't owe him anything, but he felt strange. He wanted to talk about it, but he didn't want to talk about you specifically. More like talk about you as a nonorganic object.
Luckily for Lynn, Lars couldn't enjoy his show with Lynn groaning and moaning about something.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Lars wasn't really asking. In fact, he was hoping Lynn would take it upstairs to his room. Though, today was not his lucky day.
"No," Lynn begins, but he looks back at his younger brother. "Well, actually..."
"I can sense you want to talk about it... Unless you-"
"There's this person- You don't know them though!"
Lars rolls his eyes as Lynn continues his rant.
"I don't know. I'm always looking for them, even when they're not there."
"Oh?"
"Whenever they talk to someone, I get this icky feeling in my stomach that I wish I could push deep down inside. But the feeling just gets bigger and bigger."
"I don't know who this is?" Lars already knew the answer, but he was going to pretend that he didn't. At least for Lynn's sake.
"I mean... You might know them, but that doesn't matter..." Lynn groans, leaning on the couch, "I don't know... What is this feeling?"
"Do you mean the jealously or the crush?"
"I do not have a crush on Y/n," Lynn quickly covered his mouth as Lars looked at him wide-eyed.
Lars thought he meant Claire, not Y/n.
"You can't tell anyone I said that." Lynn pointed at Lars, who started laughing. "What's funny?"
"I didn't know you meant Y/n. I thought you meant Claire!"
"Claire? I mean, I like Claire, but I don't like like Claire."
"So, you like like Y/n?"
"No- I mean, maybe? I don't know."
"Does Linka know."
"Oh god no." Lynn quickly shakes his head, "I could never do that. Please you can't tell anyone."
"What's in it for me?"
"You blackmailing rat."
-----
It went on for a couple weeks were if Lars wanted something from Lynn, he would use the 'I know your crush' card. Lars had no malicious intent and was never going to actually tell anyone about Lynn's crush. He was bluffing, but Lynn didn't know that. It was more to push Lynn in 'the right direction'.
It finally happened at one of Lynn's games. They had just won and they were celebrating when it happened. Like usual, all Lynn's teammates were hanging out with their significant others and Lynn was left alone.
"Stupid partners. God, this is so dumb." Lynn leaned onto his hand, before groaning. If he hadn't been so stuck in his world, he would of noticed you behind him.
"Out here all alone?"
He froze and quickly looked back at you, before awkwardly smiling, "Y/n."
"Hey Lynn," You go over to him and sit down. "What are you doing out here all alone?"
"Oh, I just needed some fresh air."
You chuckle, "Don't we all."
Lynn tensed up, looking anywhere but you and you picked up on that.
"Are you okay? Did I do something wrong? Do you want me to leave you alone? I know you like your victories-" You stand up and go towards
Lynn's eyes widened and he grabbed your wrist, "No," He let go, after realizing what he had done, "I mean... You can stay, I don't mind."
You go back to sit down, a little taken aback, "I was worried you didn't like me there for a second." You joke.
He straightened his back, "Of course I like you."
"You know, that's good, cause I like you, too."
Lynn froze for a moment, not knowing how to respond to that. His whole body froze, before he looked back at you, "You like me?"
"Of course, I do, Lynn. Who wouldn't like you?"
"What do you mean like?" Lynn clenched his fist and he was sure his face was red.
"Well, do you think I mean?"
"I hoping you mean more than a friend." Lynn didn't know what came over him or why he had suddenly gained such courage, but he leaned in close when he said it.
You blushed and tilted your head, "Maybe I do."
He leaned in closer, your lips inches from each other, "Well, maybe I like you too."
You were so close, but then the door slammed open, causing you both to flinch. It was one of Lynn's teammates.
"Oh, am I interrupting something?"
Lynn glares at him teammate, "What do you think Jack?"
The male scrunched up seeing his captain's glare, "Gosh, I'm sorry, Captain, I didn't even know you had a girlfriend."
Lynn groaned turning back to you, "I'm sorry. I should probably go."
"Yeah, I should probably go too."
"I'll talk to you later?"
"Yeah, I hope so."
Lynn followed his teammate back in before fist bumping himself. He patted his teammate on the back, "Man, you just ruin possibly the best moment of my life, but at least I now hate a girlfriend." He laughs, "Now I'm not the lone guy."
"Did you even ask her out."
Lynn freezes before turning to his teammate, his eyes widened, "Do you think she's still-" He stops, before pushing past his teammate and heading back outside, calling your name.

Part one can be found here
Tumblr media
(side note: theres not enough gifs of these two fr)
warnings: unrequited feelings, angst, reader is an even bigger asshole, pierre is an asshole and Dan gives off ‘nice guy’ vibes at points sorry lol
*******************************************************
Unrequited
"You know there's girls out there who aren't just using you, right?"
Daniel looked up from his phone as Max held out a drink to him, a pitiful look on his face - as once again you'd cancelled plans last minute with a I'll let you know if I end up being free later, knowing full well the Australian would sit around all evening just waiting for you to text him again.
"She's not-"
"You know she is, don't lie to me." Max said, sitting beside him. "She's into Pierre. But she knows she can get you to do whatever she wants."
The older driver sighed a little and placed his phone down on the table. "I don't know why she's got this hook in me."
"Because she always lets you think that someday there could be something." The dutchman explained. "Remember that event we all got invited to and when you asked if you wanted to go together she said 'maybe next time' even though she has no intentions of that ever happening."
"Do you think it's because of him?"
Almost on cue, Pierre stepped into the hotel bar with you trailing behind him - laughing at something he said, fluttering your eyelashes at him. The Frenchman didn't even look at you when you looped your arm around his - instead choosing to talk to Charles. Dan knew he should be bothered that you'd so blatantly ditched him last minute for Pierre but he couldn't get over just how beautiful you looked and couldn't believe the Alpha Tauri driver barely gave you a second of his time.
"I don't think she realises what she's doing to you is exactly what Pierre is doing to her. She's not innocent in this. She could easily let you off of the hook but instead she's keeping you close just in case she needs something." Max rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers when he realised Daniel wasn't paying attention to him.
Dan's eyes flickered across Max's face for a brief moment, knowing he was going to regret his next words. "I'm just going to say hi."
"You're an idiot."
"Yep."
He threw back the last mouthful of his drink before moving across the bar, putting on his trademark friendly smile. You didn't even seem surprised to see him, your own desperation for Pierre to pay attention to you melting into a pretty smile. When you let go of the Frenchman to give Dan a hug, he realised now Pierre seemed to think you were the only person in the room.
"y/n, amour, come here... your necklace." He placed his hand on your shoulder to extract you from Daniel's embrace, turning you to face him so he could adjust the dainty but expensive looking chain around your neck. "Looks so pretty on her, don't you think Daniel?"
Dan's jaw clenched a little - desperate not to let Pierre get to him, but the way he touched you made it hard. "Beautiful."
You placed a hand over the small charm. "Pierre got it for me, isn't he a sweetheart?"
“I’m sure you would have rather he had actually turned up for your birthday though, no?” The Australian countered, knowing you’d pulled the exact move on him not months before.
Dismissively you waved his claim off, eyes twinkling at you looked to Pierre. “He had something come up last minute, he’ll be there next time.”
Next time. Not right now. Maybe another time. All of the classic phrases you used to keep Daniel hopeful. The driver wanted to snap himself out of it, seeing you get what you gave should have been enough to tell him that you were just stringing him along but it only made him more determined to prove to you that he deserved a chance.
He did show up to your birthday. He always paid attention to you. It was clear to him that Pierre didn’t want you but he didn’t want anyone else to have you either. You were just some pretty thing that kept him entertained if he wasn’t swanning off with some teenage model.
“Y/n, since we’re both here. Can I buy you a drink?” Dan asked, his voice soft. “Pierre and Charles seem to have some stuff to catch up on.”
Pierre rolled his eyes, pulling you into his side - his tanned hand splayed across your hip. “She’s perfectly fine here. Besides, you’ve left your friend alone, that doesn’t seem fair. Why don’t you run along?”
Daniel let his eyes flicker to you, just hoping for once you’d put him above Pierre. But, and he shouldn’t have been surprised, you avoided eye contact - letting the Frenchman pull you in for a gentle kiss on the cheek, enough to make your cheeks flush pink.
“You know what, don’t come crying to me again when he ditches you for some random girl. He doesn’t want you, y/n.” Dan regretted opening his mouth as soon as he did, but he kept going. “Once you realise that I’d actually treat you how you deserve, I’ll be waiting.”
He didn’t even give you a moment to respond before he stormed off - leaving you, Pierre and Charles all speechless. The man beside you chuckled softly, tilting your chin up a little to look at him, before brushing his thumb across your jaw.
“Don’t listen to him, amour. I’m here with you right now, aren’t I?” He hummed softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
You smiled, feeling a little weak at the knees. He was here. “I know, thank you.”
Max wanted to be smug as Daniel returned to the table, but as he friend slumped defeated into the seat beside him. He gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze. “Sorry mate.”
Dan shrugged. “Knew what I was getting myself into. You’re right. It’s always going to be him.”
The Dutchman suggested getting out of the bar, finding someplace else to waste their evening away - earning a nod from his friend. You watched as the two of them left, chewing at the inside of your cheek as Pierre was once again not paying you much attention. Maybe Daniel had a point but even when the man you came with told you that he was heading out with some girl he just met, and that he was ‘so sorry, we’ll hang out for real soon. Promise.’, you wanted to believe him so badly.
Maybe it was a mistake to go to Daniel’s despite him telling you not to but there was nowhere else, no one else you wanted to talk to. As you wrapped your hand on the door, the look of surprise on his face almost made you feel guilty.
“Y/n, you’re here…”
You rubbed the back of your neck. “Pierre went home with another girl and-“
He sighed and folded his arms across his chest. “I told you. I’m not going to listen to you cry over him anymore, so if that’s what this is… you need to go.”
You should’ve gone. That was exactly what this was. Your heart was Pierre’s but instead you found yourself leaning in and pressing a kiss to your teammates lips - him not even missing a beat before he kissed you back.
Daniel pulled back, just enough to let his eyes flicker across your face with shock. “Tell me that this isn’t just to make him jealous.”
It is. “It’s not.”
His face lit up into a big smile before he pulled you inside, pressing his lips to yours once more. You wrapped your arms around his neck, sinking into it. Just because you didn’t have those feelings for him, doesn’t mean you could get them right? And maybe Pierre would finally see what he’s missing… right?
Daniel wasn’t naive, he couldn’t really believe you were just suddenly over Pierre but he would take whatever he could get. This was astronomical levels of stupid, but it was too late to turn back now. You were finally kissing him. It was all he’d wanted since he laid his eyes on you.
He just had to try and made sure it lasted.

Oof. Y/n is a bit of a cow isn’t she
Hope you enjoyed it regardless!!

Warnings: Angst, bad boyfriend Damon, talks of human trafficking, mob activities Overly protective Reader, Elijah falling at first sight
Summary: Elena is dating a new guy and you don't like where it is going. Until you have to rescue her.
Title: Dark days even darker nights
Pairings: Mobboss!Elijah M. x Dancer!Black!Reader
Rain poured as you stood at the back door of the club you danced at smoking a cigarette listening to Elena talk about her new boyfriend. You wanted her to stay away from the Salvatore brothers since they were mobsters. You knew the dangers of being around the mob and it didn't help there was another family in the area, The Mikaelson family.
You lived in the middle part of the city that was known as dead man's city between both the Salvatore and the Mikaelsons territory. It was called dead man's city because both mob families fought over who got what.
"Damon is so sweet. He bought me new heels." Elena said gushing over Damon and you rolled your eyes annoyed with how Elena gushed over the mobster. You thought Elena was being an idiot by 'dating' Damon Salvatore. You didn't see it as dating more like Damon needed something to fuck which left your naive friend.
"Y/N, Damon says we could dance in his club." Elena said getting your attention right away looking at her like she was crazy.
"Are you insane!? Do you not see how much of a bad idea that is?!" You said putting out your cigarette looking at Elena who blinked. The young woman couldn't understand why you were angry with her as she thought it would be good for you both.
"Damon will take good care of us." Elena tells you watching you groan into your hands. You were trying hard to not yell at Elena but the girl was making it hard not too.
You lived long enough to know a dancer should never dance in a mob own club. While you hated dancing in a shitty club you did now, it wasn't own by a mobster just pervy 50 year old man that got hands on with a few of the girls.
"Yeah right. Look Elena the Salvatore are at war with the Mikaelsons. Dancing at the Salvatore club is just putting a bigger target on your back."
"But Y/N it is better than dancing in this shithole." Elena said staring at you and you looked at her. Elena was watching you hoping you'll agree but you couldn't.
"No Elena. Look dance there if you want but I won't." You tell her heading back inside leaving Elena alone before she walk back inside too.
--
You now regretted not taking up Elena's offer and maybe you could have protected her better than Damon. You had spent the last hour yelling at Stefan and Damon for them to tell you where your best friend was. Since you hadn't seen Elena in weeks and Caroline, the sweet baker not far from the Salvatore club, hadn't seen her also.
You learned that the Mikaelsons had Elena, Snow fell as you stood outside of the Mikaelsons' club and the thin coat you had on barely did anything to keep you warm. But you blocked it out since you were on a mission to save Elena since Damon was doing jack all to get her back.
You stepped inside surprised how nice it looked, girls fully clothed, clean floors and stage. There was a guy that took your coat raising an eyebrow seeing your short black dress that showed off your assets. You had gone to the Salvatores straight from work and hadn't changed as all you could think about was saving Elena. You looked at the stage surprised to see Bonnie there singing some smooth jazz.
"Amazing isn't she?" You jumped hearing the bartender speak to you. You read the name, Camille, you looked her over noting she seemed a little too gorgeous to be working as a bartender in the Mikaelsons' club.
"Yeah, I am a friend of her's. But I am here to speak to your boss." You said looking at Camille who was surprised to see the anger in your eyes. Camille thought you were an angry ex of the brothers and pointed up to the stairs to a door.
"I'll let the guard know you are coming up." Camille said wishing the guys good luck because you looked pissed. You marched up to the office not scared. Once there you were even more angry seeing Elena in some short dress.
"Y/N?!" Elena squeaked out nearly dropping the glass of bourbon while the man behind the desk raised an eyebrow. You glared at him seeing it was Elijah Mikaelson, the big man hisself.
"Elena, sweetheart, do you know this woman?" Elijah asked the young woman looking you over stopping at your bronze thighs before looking up at your face.
"Ye....yes this is Y/N L/N....my best friend and mentor." Elena said clearly scared of the fact that you were there. Elijah had been a gentleman to Elena since Klaus took her to get Damon to pay his debt. Elena had been under Elijah's watchful eye until you had heard of what happen.
"Need something Miss L/N?" Elijah asked taking off his reading glasses looking at you as you walked up to his desk glaring darkening.
"Yes! Let Elena go. She shouldn't be apart of your pissing contest with the Salvatore." You tell Elijah who smirked at you taking a liking to you right away. Oh a woman after his own heart. The stories of you that Elena told him did you no justice, you reminded Elijah of a wildfire that couldn't be tamed.
"I apologize Miss but I can't just simply let Miss Gilbert go." Elijah said watching you and Elena let out a panicked yelp when you grabbed a letter opener pressing against Elijah's thoat. You were pissed off since you had came all this way to get Elena out of her mess but some mob boss was telling you no.
"I wasn't asking. I am taking Elena and we are lea...." You were cut off and the wind knocked out of you. Elijah had pinned you down against his desk, your arms pinned above your head and him standing between your legs.
"Doll, you are in no position to demand things from me. Damon has a debt to pay and gave up Miss Gilbert as payment." Elijah tells you shocking Elena while you glared harder.
"Damon wouldn't do that...." Elena said softly clearly hurt by the words. Elijah flet a little bad while you tried to pull your arms free.
"I thought the Mikaelsons don't do human trafficking? Or force women to work for you. Guess you are no different from the others." You said moving a leg to try and push Elijah off. You froze feeling Elijah brush your curls from your face.
"We don't but doll, I'm willing to make a deal." Elijah tells you smirking finding your harsh glare cute.
"What kind of deal?" You asked feeling Elijah's other hand touch your leg making your jump.
"Take her place doll. I'll give until morning to pack what you need then come back here." Elijah says watching you closely, your auburn eyes burning with anger while Elena looked at you.
"Y/N....don't. You don't nee...." "I'll do it." You cut Elena off and Elijah smirked pulling away from you. You got off of Elijah's desk and grabbed Elena walking out of the club. Elijah was amused and grabbed his phone to call Klaus.
--
The next afternoon you sat in your apartment annoyed with the mess that you tried to get Elena out of. After what happen last night, you decided to stay in your apartment. Your curls freshly washed under a silk scarf and had a large glass of wine.
You had turned off your phone to give yourself time to think since you now were stuck with the city's most powerful mob boss all to protect Elena. There was a knock on your and you wrapped your slik robe around your body.
"I thought I made myself clear doll." Elijah said stepping into your apartment while two body guard stood outside and you glared at him. Elijah looked around your apartment finding it cozy, small but cozy.
"Right. Look I have my own life! I just can't up and leave because you say so." You tell Elijah pushing pass the man grabbing your wine. Elijah licked his lip looking at your bronze legs before looking at your face when you turned.
"How did you even know where I live?"
"Miss Gilbert told my sister who told me." Elijah answered taking off his coat and scarf hanging them up on your coat rack. You stopped breathing looking at Elijah who looked dangerously handsome in his three piece suit.
"Look I am not moving out of my apartment bec...." You were cut off when Elijah caged you against a wall smirking down at you. Elijah cupped your cheek really enjoying the feel of your soft skin leaning down to your ear.
"Doll, I wasn't asking. You now belong to me no...." It was your turn to cut off Elijah off when you pushed him away but Elijah just pulled you back against him.
You both ended up falling onto your couch due to your struggle. You layed under Elijah, your silk scarf had slipped off and you your robe fell open showing off your lacy nightgown.
"Get off." You growled but stopped gasping as your hands flew up gripping Elijah's shoulders when he moved his hips just right. Elijah smirked moving down caging you under him seeing your flushing cheeks and eyes hazing over.
"Do you really want me to doll?" Elijah teased moving to claim your mouth with his but you pushed him off glaring at him. Elijah was bothered by your glares and just finding you more attractive as he got up.
"Keep your home, doll but you still belong to me. Please keep that in mind." Elijah says moving to kiss your cheek but you duck out of the way. You got up annoyed with Elijah pushing your curls from your face.
"Find! Whatever just get out." You said as Elijah stood up walking passed you. But was unaware just how much you were going to see of Elijah.
