On Chapter Posts (and What Comes After)
Just a heads-up to everyone that, at least for the time being, I’m putting the chapter posts on moratorium. I’ve been far more critical than not for months on end, and while I do get some satisfaction out of the venting, it’s just gotten more mentally demanding than it’s worth. Compliments are easy and fun to write! I always end up feeling like I have to do more writing to support negativity, however, providing enough explanation to support my complaints, and often going even further to anticipate and preemptively counter responses.
That big slab of nitpicking sits at the top of my to-do list week-in and week-out, a responsibility to keep on top of lest I fall behind, pushing answering asks and working on other projects behind it, and with the chapters of late having become incredibly demotivating, not getting them done means I get nothing done. It certainly doesn’t help that Horikoshi’s writing has become so dependent on fake-outs, asspulls, retcons, and purposefully misleading cliffhangers, all of which make it unrewarding in the extreme to put effort and thought into meaningful analysis on a chapter-by-chapter basis.
I apologize to anyone who was really enjoying them—I’ve had a number of people tell me they love my meticulous breakdowns, and I’m forever grateful that my anal-retentiveness has found some like minds! That said, please don’t fear that I’m out of the BNHA analysis game entirely! I’d just rather focus my attention on larger-scale material, subjects that require analyzing the work as a whole, rather than the week-to-week grind.
First up will be clearing out my ask backlog—not, I think, a terribly burdensome prospect this time—as well as give the Mina fan the answer I promised them months ago to their last reply in our series of lengthy exchanges about Chapter 383.

Meta Projects:
An absolutely massive documentation of heteromorphobia in the main series and Vigilantes that I’ve been erratically working on since March of last year—41 pages and I’m still only at the beginning of the war arc! I’ve been trying to decide if I want to just start posting this in arc-length breakdowns or finish the whole thing first for optimal organization and presentation, though I suppose I could do the former on tumblr and the latter on AO3. Anyone have a preference?
The much-delayed essay laying out the evidence for the possession plot with AFO and Shigaraki not being the originally intended endgame for those characters, at least not in the form it wound up taking. Currently six pages, this one is still mostly bullet points; it also hasn’t been updated to reflect some of the more recent wild inconsistencies. I’d like to give the series time to wrap up whatever it’s going to do with AFO before I publish this one, in case of eleventh hour reveals, but there’s certainly a lot of draft work I could be doing in the meantime.
Some follow-up/companion pieces to my MVA In Memoriam series. I’d like to go back to the PLF Spotting posts, which were intended to run through the anime’s treatment of the PLF in the war arc, and I’ve also been compiling points for a schadenfreude-y post on the dazzling variety of ways the anime’s butchering of MVA has complicated its own future as an adaptation. This would cover things like the anime having to hastily jam in the CRC scene as a flashback because, whoops, it turns out heteromorphobia is going to play a major role in the climax, or the whole-hog deletion of Curious talking about quirk counseling, given that Horikoshi would later directly depict how said counseling exacerbated the psychological abuse Toga was already facing from her parents.
An essay I promised an anon last year about my perception of the MLA’s ideology. I’m salty about what the lazy, rushed writing in the final arc has reduced my favorite villain group in the manga to, however, so at this point, I want to do two things with this piece. First, analyze why the MLA's current portrayal is so problematic*—what they say doesn’t even match up with who they are and how they act now, much less in their MVA portrayal! Second, discuss how I write them, extrapolating from the non-caricatured aspects of their portrayal with the intent of offering a version of the MLA who are still extremist, cultish villains but who are allowed to have some proper nuance, and an ideology that’s actually consistent with their history, their tactics, and their MVA-era characterization.
A number of shorter fancies and trifles that I’ve thought about and taken a few notes on, but have never gotten around to fully drafting:
o A post on how heroes and villains respectively engage with dramatic unmaskings.
o A post on directionality of movement in visual media, highlighting some particularly interesting examples in BNHA to discuss what those examples indicate about the characters’ mentalities and the narrative’s silent, implicit judgement thereof.
o A post on how frustrating it’s been to see all of Toga’s powers and abilities get retroactively leashed to—and limited by—her girly love-love emotions.
o A post on the chronic underestimation of Shigaraki Tomura and the woes it consistently leads to.
o A post or two analyzing the final beats of each chapter in the War Arcs with the aim of critiquing the way the series undermines the threat presented by the villains during said arcs.
Fanfic Projects:
On the fanfic side, it’s been frustrating me for months now that I haven’t written a substantial piece of non-prompt-driven fanfic for BNHA since January of last year, and even that's being generous with the word "substantial." Before that, I'd have to go all the way back to 2020 to find a non-prompt-based fic with a distinct beginning/middle/end. Suffice to say I’ve got lots of projects on that front!
While the rest of these are all BNHA fic, I do have a Gundam IBO fic I'm, like, two-thirds finished with the final chapter of that I badly want to finally, finally finish. It's basically down to an awkward conversation or two and a pair of wedding vows I've consigned myself to writing by virtue of drawing attention to them in the preceding chapters, RIP.
The perpetually languishing Obon fic, in which Re-Destro has a lot of feelings he is taking care not to examine too closely about his ancestors. Six thousand words and not even halfway finished.
The self-indulgent ShigRD mermaid fic, which has a number of cheerleaders in my friend circle and also my id.
Finish the MLA May AUs.
I'd like to circle back and write something for those last three days of Spinaraki Week Level 3 I never got to.
Brainstorming two distinct massive fix-it fic AUs I would at least like to draft some solid outlines for, even as it's unlikely I'll ever have the patience to write all the scenes about the kids they'd require.
o "Forward Different" (the current name on the OneNote tab) would start from the first war arc, being faithful to the canon up to that point, but with major and minor changes that ripple outward to take the story farther and farther from canon the longer it progresses. (In that story: the MLA not folding like a bad hand in the raids, a Lady Nagant who's true to her professed hatred of empty platitudes, OFA being less of a perfectly good pushover, etc.)
o "Backward Different" would also start from the first war arc, but things would drastically diverge almost immediately because of a number of strategically placed changes to prior events and character motivations; these would be wildcards to be uncovered or deduced as the story progresses. (In that story: Aoyama was revealed as the traitor all the way back at the training camp, cast members who actually matter turn out to be MLA, OFA is less of a perfectly good pushover, etc.)
I also have a number of deeply backburnery ideas, still more in the category of "idea" than project, that I could to move to more active project status.
o The one where my might-as-well-call-them-my-MLA-fancharacter has to team up with Toga post-Jakku and travel across a rapidly unraveling Japan in order to meet back up safely with their allies.
o The one where I use an OC detective to examine the official response to the Shimura massacre, and how it got squashed.
o The Kotarou Lives AU, in which Kotarou survives said massacre. Look, gang, I just really want to write about AFO gleefully and aggressively coming on to Shimura Nana's deliciously bitter, traumatized, handsome, ignorant son. I also really like my idea for a lead-in/stinger on this one.
o The one where Geten busts himself and his allies out of prison, be it the canon-verse story with his now-confirmed cell neighbor Mr. Compress or the teenaged AU where he gets thrown in the same high-security juvie Mustard is in.
And that's about all I can dig up out of my notes at the moment. Let me know if there's anything you guys are particularly interested in, though priority is likely to go to shorter or more fully developed projects. Thanks for reading!

What did Caleb do?? Was it something to do with the chapter?
I don’t even really know how to answer this. I’m gonna retract me blaming Caleb for THIS instance, just this one though lol.
I’ll explain why further down. This is gonna be…a post. Buckle up.
There’s confusion with the translation on this panel:
The question is whether it’s actually Endeavor’s father or not.
The official says, well, that ⬆️. It says Endeavor watched his own father jump in to save a girl from someone.
The spoilers and fan scans said it was something Endeavor happened to see out in public when he was a kid, a father trying to save his kid from a villain:
And then there are other people with pretty good Japanese skills saying it could be either/or. Because the word he used for “father” can and is used differently at times. I’ve seen two people whose translations have proven trustworthy so far, back this up and say it’s honestly unclear.
Arguably, spoilers and fan scans can’t always be trusted! Nope, they cannot. But—Caleb has also made pretty bold mistakes too that other people have thoroughly looked into and caught. Neither source is perfect. Caleb is usually pretty reliable, but I have several reasons for just straight up not believing this until the story gives me more context to support the notion that Endeavor watched his dad die. And on top of that, I don’t think Caleb is at fault for this if it isn’t meant to be taken that way.
Just in preparation for me to be utterly disappointed, I’m gonna list my reasons for being a denier of this until I’m forced to accept it if it’s true, and then list my grievances under the cut. Because let’s say that is his dad, oh boy. I have issues.
First
Reasons I do not think it’s the paternal grandparent of the Todoroki kids:
This horrible death has never, ever, ever been hinted at, mentioned, alluded to, or anything. Ever. So if Endeavor’s origin, his reason for becoming a hero is because he watched his dad try to be a hero for someone and die in the process—why the FUCK did he need All Might to tell him that being a hero is about protecting the future and the kids? Why. He lost his father. Why did he need someone, who has no kids of his own, to tell him that he needs to fucking think of his own kids—if THIS was his origin. It literally makes absolutely no sense. Like that’s not even me hating Endeavor. That simply makes NO. SENSE. It being a random incident he saw where he was horrified makes more sense. It’s easier to forget your origin and become a piece of shit to your family when it isn’t your own parent dying horribly in front of you. If there was more build up to this, more clear cut evidence prior, I’d buy it. But there is none.
Everybody saying that this “makes sense because it parallels Kotaro whose hero mom died and led to him abusing his family!!”—NO IT DOESN’T. Kotaro’s mom abandoned him. Put him in foster care. Left. Disappeared. THEN died. But her deciding to never ever see her son again was while she was alive and well. Emotionally damaging him beyond repair. Endeavor has not once reflected on loss of family. He is not portrayed as a victim of loss, of any kind. Actually that’s a lie—he reflected 250 chapters later when Touya was mentioned and shown for the first time. And even then, before the Kamino arc when Endeavor’s arc started curving toward atonement, there was nothing. Loss of his own father? Nothing there? This whole time? You know who DID do that? Kotaro. You know how you portray someone mourning a family member? You portray it. Period. Point blank. Which, up until now for Endeavor—that has not happened. There’s no resentment from “his dad” dying for someone else’s kid either. Which is like, a big thing with this whole “hero vs family” debacle in BNHA. So I’m having a hard time believing that the start of his career is based off of his own dad doing this.
Context. Context surrounding this scene does not say it’s his dad. He’s wearing a backpack and standing behind a barricade. As if he’s on his way to or from school and saw this. He looks like a bystander. He looks shocked. But he doesn’t look like someone who just watched his own dad get pulverized in the street trying to save someone else’s kid. If it’s his dad then where’s his mom? Why haven’t we seen her? If Endeavor’s parents were such an influence in his life (like idk, Shigaraki and Touya) we should have seen them both, by now. There’s also nothing in this chapter that is telling us to feel bad for Enji. He looks like a pathetic, sorry mess that is finally overcoming HIS OWN WEAKNESSES. His dad dying is not a weakness. That’s traumatic event that would wreck anybody. It was literally stated IN THE CHAPTER that Endeavor’s enemy is his OWN WEAKNESSES. So me feeling sympathy for him after he supposedly watched his father die traumatically does not work for that message.
Moving on.
Now, let’s say I end up being a clown and god forbid, that’s his fucking dad.
Okay, it’s his dad. Sad right? Well. Kind of. Was he sad? He didn’t show it. Or maybe, “him abusing his family is because of his grief.”
Do you see the problem? Y’all thought the hospital chapters were a retcon? Oh boy. Get ready. Because if that’s his own dad—it’s about to get way fucking worse. Here’s why:
We already had to wait 190 chapters to find out that there was a tragic and horrible death in the family. Up until then Enji was this abusive and greedy POS who had absolutely no good fucking reason for doing what he was doing. No sign of remorse, no regret, nothing. Nothing at all. But then Touya is mentioned. And we learn that one of the siblings blames Enji for the death of Touya, and that Enji feels the same. Okay—so now we have a slightly more complete picture. Is Enji remorseful? Well it surely didn’t fucking look like it (and tbh this is either an actual retcon or just Hori not handling Enji well overall), but it’s believable that Enji would shift his focus to Shouto to make sure Touya didn’t “die in vein” or whatever. It’s believable, wasn’t handled the greatest, but it worked for what we had. But this whole “Oh it turns out that Endeavor took his grief out on his family the KOTARO DID” thing Does. Not. Work.
It does not work for what we know about Endeavor. First we had “Oh he’s obsessed with being the strongest, so obsessed he’ll step on people to get to where he’s going, including his own family.” Then the hospital chapters came and we had “Oh, he threw himself into Shouto’s training to avoid the emotional mess he created with Touya, and then escalated after Touya died to avoid thinking about it.” The narrative changed once, changing it a second time to a third scenario is…it’s just a dog shit writing choice.
At this point in the game, after painting Endeavor as someone who HAS to take responsibility, who NEEDS to step up as a father because there are no more excuses, it’s too late to suddenly throw sympathy into his character. It’s too late to make us go “aw….poor man…he lost his father and it traumatized him 🥺”. Endeavor as a controversial character shouldn’t be given more lax than he already has in the story. Like honestly the story does brush over his bullshit a lot as it is. I was looking past it because it looks (and still does) like he will be taking responsibility finally. But this whole garnering sympathy for his character at the last minute does not work for me. And I’m so bothered by the comparisons to Kotaro because the situations were different from the start. Kotaro and Enji are not the same. Nana and Enji are the ones to compare. But here we are, I see people already equating the two and oof it fucking bothers me.
All this to say—if that’s his dad? I’m not saying Hori is a bad writer, he’s not. But that? Would be a fucking disaster bullshit choice, in my opinion. Because it’s already leading to dumb assumptions, that Kotaro and Enji are the same. They are not. And I will die on that hill.
If that’s his dad—it’ll be a hard pill to swallow, but I’ll do it! But god bless, my opinion of this story as a whole will fall. Because I guess for some reason Hori is bound to just stumble with Endeavor until the very end.
This is my opinion on it. Whether it’s his dad or not, this is how I feel. If y’all disagree, cool. That’s your right. But don’t come tell me about it, I really don’t care. I’ll block anybody trying to start shit about it. This is an upsetting choice in my opinion and it really killed the entire chapter for me. The chapter was confusing as hell to begin, but this just ruined it entirely. I’m sure this coming week will be better, but this is annoying.

50 questions for fic writers
@darkangel1791 asked that fic writing mutual answer these questions, and so here we go~
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?) I’d start with a oneshot. The one that’s been the most well-received is a SPN/Teen Wolf (MTV) crossover about Stiles having an unreciprocated crush on Dean called Crush. The oneshot I think represents my style as a writer the most would be my BnHA/MHA fic called …save…. about Shirakumo overcoming Kurogiri’s programing enough to ask Aizawa to help save Shigaraki. The oneshot I think I did my best work on to date would be my IwtV (AMC) fic May You Get What You Desire Is a Curse upon the Dead, that explores desire via Devil’s Minion. I think this is my best oneshot, if not overall fic, because I alternated between two POVs, one in the past and one in the present, and I don’t cringe when I reread it.
2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits? Mine are 1) Originally posted to Fanfiction.net, 2) I Blame Tumblr, 3) Crossover, 4) Additional Warnings in Author’s Note, and 5) Other: See More Story Notes. I think that it does represent me as a writer because sometimes I wrote very long warnings lists and author’s notes because I always have something to say.
3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics? I write a lot of stuff where someone’s not!straight because I myself am not straight. I also write quite a bit of romance because it does fascinate me, but I’m also drawn to platonic pairs with strong bonds too.
4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of? I spent a lot of time researching stuff about Japan to make my Banana Fish manga AU where Ash joins Eiji on the plane to Japan called Best Laid Plans work. I looked up school schedules, cultural notes, train ride durations, flight durations, food, culture, 80’s history, Google street views, etc…etc… The ending ended up being a bit of a you love it or hate it ending unfortunately, but I am proud of the work I put in to make the fic happen.
5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now! I don’t think I have any specific questions off the top of my head, but if anyone has some fic-specific questions, my inbox is always open for them
6. What’s one fact about the universe of [insert fic] that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself? I should have been more clear that in my Black Clover soulmate AU Names and Promises that Asta and Yuno are platonic soulmates and said their first words to each other.
7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of? I’m really proud of my work on my BnHA/MHA soulmate AU Our Soulmate Academia because I fleshed so much out and had so much fun with things like quirk swapping and what life for an underground hero might entail, etc…It was also fun trying to guess what Horikoshi might do in the canon and try to avoid doing something too similar.
8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)? I want to do my Vampire Chronicles (AMC) inspired playlist as a fic series, but I do not have that kind of free time unfortunately.
9. How do you find new fic to read? Most of the time it’s whatever shows up via my subs in my inbox. But sometimes I just pick a fandom I want to read from and see what new fics are around
10. How do you decide what to write? Sometimes it’s based on a Tumblr post I read like my IwtV (AMC) crack fic We Have Thieves based on some Night Island (AMC) posts I’ve seen. Sometimes I’m filling in some blanks from canon like my Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits fic Promises and Oaths where I hypothesized some things before the anime finished. Sometimes I watch something unrelated and it inspires a fic like the time I watched that Monuments Men movie and then wrote my Captain America Steve never becomes a super soldier AU called If No One Else Will. Sometimes I get inspired by other fics I’ve been reading like my Sherlock Holmes fic The Mystery in the Fog.
11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is? I’m a perseverative person by nature. Sometimes I blink and have like a handful of Devil’s Minion fics because it gives me brain worms or when I was in high school I always had an Inuyasha fic in my fic rotation because I loved that series so much. There was also a time I wrote too many Thick of It fics because I kept using the characters as a way to take a break from the novel I was working on at the time and several Tumblr users were giving me attention for those fics.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you? I started out pretty homophobic when I first started writing fanfic because I was very sheltered. Now I’m just very not straight and the characters I gravitate towards aren’t either. I also wasn’t into reading lemons but now I don’t mind them as long as there’s some sort of plot with it outside of the sexy times.
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore? I’m not sure. I’ve never really been big on searching out specific tropes, though sometimes I will go looking for stuff like those fics where someone swaps places with their younger self and the younger self gets to be in shock at their potential future.
14. Are there any tropes you would only read if written by a trusted friend or writer? If the AO3 author I trust the most wrote something like omegaverse I don’t think I would follow because that might be a step too squick for me.
15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written? I really like my Black Clover/Boruto crossover The Land Across the Sea where Boruto washes up on Clover’s beach, runs into the Black Bulls and Golden Dawn, and then some of both squads take him back to the Land of Fire, which is coincidentally the same country Yami came from. It was a speculation of what post-Spade Arc could be like written before the current Black Clover manga arc. (I wrote this because I think Yami and Naruto would have been friends growing up and they’re roughly about the same age if you take their ages at the start of their mangas in relation to publication year into account).
16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)? I think we need more Claudia lived fics in the IwtV (AMC) fandom. I also want to see Present Mic be more students’ mentor in fics.
17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it? I want to write a BnHA/MHA AU where Class A has to travel back in time to save Yagi kind of inspired by Tenchi in Love. I’ve written a chunk of it but I hit a wall and I can’t seem to move forward with it.
18. If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it involve? I’m not sure. No one’s made any sequel requests in years.
19. If you wrote a spin-off of [insert fic], what would it involve? I want to take my IwtV (AMC) fic Dream a Memory of Me and remix it now that I have more memory and knowledge of what I should be doing with the characters. Louis also deserves to be utilized in a less haphazard way for the ending. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to do this so it’ll just have to be a testament to how much I was raring and ready to write Iwtv (AMC) fic that I didn’t take the time to refresh my memory properly before embarking on it.
20. If you wrote a prequel to [insert fic], what would it involve? I’m not sure but the novel I’m currently working on 100% could have a prequel but I think that might be too much for me because I’d have to delve deep into my time in middle and high school more so than I’m already doing for that novel.
21. If you wrote a “missing scene” in [insert fic], what would it be? Usually if a scene gets send to my dump file, there’s a good reason it’s not in the fic.
22. Who is your favorite character in [insert fic] and why? If it’s a Black Clover fic I’ve written, my favorite character is always Asta. He’s just so loud and friend shaped. I can’t help it. Like a little anime nephew.
23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to? I’ve written so many. I think counting the fics lost to time and space, I’ve written probably close to or just over 300 fics since 2001. I think a lot of the ones I want to do I’ve already done maybe even twice over.
24. Are there any Easter eggs in [insert fic], and if so, what are they? Occasionally I make small references but frequently they small enough I can’t think of them off the top of my head.
25. What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write? I usually just use Word, Excel, and Google to find things.
26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue? No dialogue. Only dialogue can get confusing without being able to use said.
27. How long did it take to write [insert fic]? Describe the process. It took me a year and two months to get Our Soulmate Academia ready for posting. I wrote it as a giant first draft, edited it while breaking it into chapters, and then spot checked it before posting it. That’s the general way I do all my fics in the last few years. Makes it easy to finish chaptered fics.
28. Does anyone read your fics before you post them? If so, who? I used a beta way back in the 2000’s, who proceeded to steal my fic and post it as their own so I’m the only person who reads them before I post them with the exception of Kitty who has severed as my Britpicker many times.
29. What songs would be (or are) on a playlist for [insert fic]? Explain your choices if you want! We Have Thieves has its own little mini mix technically. The songs I reference in the fic are: “Every Breath You Take” by The Police, “Holy Diver” by Dio, “Little Red Corvette” by Prince, “Psycho Killer” by Talking Heads, and “Beat It” by Michael Jackson.
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter? I wrote some smut for Best Laid Plans since part of the plot was unpacking Ash’s sexual trauma and sexuality. I kept it kind of simple and tried not to make it a spectacle. I’ve written other smut in some orphaned fics. Recently I had the opportunity to write smut in a couple of my IwtV AMC fics but I chose to fade out of the scenes instead because I don’t want to write smut in a manner that feels exploitative (which is why I orphaned the fics I did. I thought they were kind of exploitative and that’s just not how I want to be remembered).
31. What’s your ideal fic length to write? I’m not sure. I ordered my fics by word count and found that the 1,000 word mark occurs roughly half way down the list, so I think I just write whatever word count suits what the fic ends up being unless it’s a drabble that’s to a specific word count.
32. What’s your ideal fic length to read? Usually I try to keep it to under 10,000 unless I’m feeling ambitious or the fic summary is too good to pass up.
33. If you write chaptered fics, what’s your ideal chapter length to write? Is it different from your ideal chapter length to read? When I was in high school and university I would cap my chapters around 5,000 words especially because I was writing drafts without editing them and then just posting them like a weirdo. Now I like to write the whole thing out and if it’s over about 15,000/20,000 or so words I break it into multiple chapters of usually 5,000 – 10,000 words in length.
34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life? I 100% used my own mom as inspiration for how to flesh Bakugou’s mom out in Our Soulmate Academia.
35. What aspects of your writing are completely unlike your real life? I have never been kissed. I can’t drink and I can’t drive. So, naturally I’m drawn to having a bit of romance in a good chunk of my fics because it fascinates me in the way that space or dinosaurs, etc… fascinate me.
36. Do you visualize what you read/write? If I can’t see a little movie playing in my head then I’m not going to be able to write it. This is also why I get compliments on my action sequences. I can easily visually keep track of everyone involved at all times.
37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it? I wrote a My Life in Film and BBC Sherlock crossover called Distortion that I think worked out fairly well. I think the fact My Life in Film is an obscure TV show didn’t help it in the popularity department. I chose the crossover because Andrew Scott is in both shows.
38. Did any of your fics get surprisingly popular (whatever that means to you)? Which ones? Why do you think they were so successful? Only two of my fics have made it into people’s collections. They’re both Black Clover fics. The first one is Rest Young Soldiers which speculated on how the Spade Arc might end, and All Fortune Plays End where I speculated about how Asta’s devil powers might take over his body. I think I did a good job writing both fics.
39. Is any aspect of your writing process inspired by other writers or people? If so, who? It is not. I just do what works for my brain.
40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person? I do reread them. I like to reread my own as they come up on people’s bookmarks of my fics. I also have a trash memory so sometimes I reread fics when out looking for new ones and become that one Gandalf meme when I try to leave kudos.
41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.” I have 28 recs out of 138 bookmarks and I feel this way about all of my recs.
42. Have you ever received a comment that particularly stood out to you for whatever reason? I got some flames back in my SPN days that graphically described how I should burn in hell for the fic I wrote. I also still think about the nice reviewer who complemented me on my Daniel characterization on my first IwtV AMC fic since that fic is pretty weak compared to my other ones in that fandom.
43. If you take/write prompts: what’s your favorite prompt fic that you’ve written? I’m not sure because I can’t remember which fics are prompt fics. But I always love writing them.
44. If you take/write prompts: do you prefer dialogue or scenario/narrative prompts? I don’t really have a preference. Though sometimes I’ll accidentally take it in a strange direction because that’s where inspiration took me.
45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic? Editing hands down. I’ve gone from only running the spell check and immediately posting the first and only draft to doing a two round editing process.
46. Do you prefer writing on your phone or on a computer (or something else)? Do you think where you write affects the way you write? On my computer is preferred. Typing on my phone is obnoxious no matter what I’m doing.
47. If [insert fic] was a pair of shoes, what kind would it be? Describe the shoes. If my SPN fic Burn Mark were shoes, they’d have the mark of Michael branded into the toes and the soles would be made from metal like a cage. The leather would be well worn, possibly almost worn out and the shoe laces a little dirty.
48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it? The last fic I read was the latest chapter of Only Human by bandedbulbussnarfblat. If human AUs for IwtV (AMC) aren’t your thing, then I highly recommend The Human Perspective by the same author.
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it! I am currently working on my novel so no sharing.

Heyo~! My name’s Lailani and I’m a 21 year old nerd looking for a fellow 18+ nerd to rp with! I’ve been writing for 9 years, rping for 7- so, I know my way around. I’m also in my fair share of fandoms/have a wide variety of media I’m interested in. Mostly anime/video game oriented. But, my current hyper-fixation is FNAF Security Breach. WHO I AM/WHAT I DO:
As I said- I am 21, so absolutely NO minors.
I am someone who identifies as female and am comfortable with a variety of mature themes/NSFW content including all but SUPER weird or fucked up shit. For example:
Sexual assault/r*pe scenes (though I am totally open to stories utilizing characters that deal with past trauma of all kinds)
Overtly weird fetishes (primarily anything involving stuff like spit, defection, golden rain, but not limited to these)
Anything sex or hard drug related involving minors (just, like- no. We don’t need that)
Honestly- other than that, we’re adults. We can write adult themes if they fit the narrative.
Speaking of- my rps tend to be a bit of everything. Fluff, angst, whatever mix of genre there just so happens to be in the story in question. Though I will say that if angst is had, comfort/fluff must follow. I’m all for putting our characters through the wringer a couple times so long as they get their happy ending/some reprieve.
One thing that is almost (pretty much) always featured though is ships- I love ships, and usually go canon x oc double up. I write your character’s partner you write my character’s partner. I’m comfortable with:

What I tend to love most about these properties are the characters. So I’m honestly down for pretty much whatever so long as we make it fun and keep them in character.
I’m pretty flexible in terms of platforms for rp, I know a lot of people really love Discord- and I’m totally cool to use it if that’s what you like, but I personally find the character limit restricting/just a touch annoying to navigate. Mostly I use Messenger- honestly. But, again- I’m flexible. So just let me know! ^^
WHAT I EXPECT:
I am looking for a long-term partner who is ACTIVE. We are people, we have lives, so I fully understand being unable to go 24/7. But I want someone who can handle a solid back-and-forth more than once or twice a week. I’m looking for consistency. Rping is a primary hobby of mine, I love writing/sharing that writing with another person. As such, I make time for it daily. Responses here and there throughout the day are common practice for me. If you send me a reply continuing the story, I will make the time to respond that day- usually sooner rather than later. Though nowadays those more solid back-and-forths are concentrated into the evenings, I want someone with a similar passion that is willing to pick it up for at least one solid back-and-forth more days than not.
If you are gonna be gone for an extended period of time, a small heads up would be very much appreciated though isn’t at all necessary. I also would appreciate a simple ‘I am no longer interested’ if ever you fall out of favor with our partnership and see no reason to continue. I have been ghosted before and it hasn’t ever felt good- especially when it relates to a story I was SUPER excited to write at the time. It may bite for a bit, but I can promise you I’d be able to get over it. We’d be all good 😂.
Strict length requirements- for me, aren’t really fair. Sometimes certain scenes just, don’t need much said. Especially if it’s between two characters exclusively. Quantity of words is hardly an indicator of their quality. What that said, though- I DO consider myself a semi-lit to lit rper, and expect the same of my partner. If you want me to make use of what I’m given- I gotta be given enough. This doesn’t mean to agonize over a 3 page reply for hours on end, AT ALL- but it does mean to put some meat on them bones, you know? You can see my page or PM me for examples.
As a small note- please make sure that the meat on said bones is legible in terms of grammar/spelling all that. I’m not an English teacher by any stretch at all- like I don’t need perfect punctuation or anything. But I would at least expect full sentences and good spelling.
I’m also looking for someone who’s open to talking headcanons, experimenting, just, having fun. Getting out there; getting creative. Even if it isn’t directly in the rp and takes place OOC. Like, I’m not even going to lie to you- some of my current headcanons/concepts I love for the Daycare Attendant have been lifted from The Sun and Moon show. Like, now I love the idea of the two of them being brothers and find the concept of Eclipse extremely interesting- I also really love what artists like Shandzii and Animasup did with them. I’m looking for someone who’s just open to geeking out about and speculating on the characters we write, because it’s fun! Part of what I love to do in rp is add my own special little spice to a character interpretation, so don’t be afraid to do the same and just- share! I’m all for just, geeking out here and there too- trust me, I can go on for a while 😂
Having a clear plan/trajectory for plot and characters also helps a lot for me. Like, it helps to know what you want- so that I can give it to you. And I would do the same on my end, to make it easier for you. On a smuttier note (because that is a thing I am comfortable with/willing to write), we are adults, we can and should feel comfortable having open conversation about what our interests are for those scenes- should they come up. If you have interests/desires/stuff that you like- we can talk about it! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with clear communication.
Another thing of great importance to me is that my partner has the ability to write more than just one or two characters, canon included. If I’m going to rp with someone, I am looking to have a roughly 50/50 split between who writes which members of our given ‘cast’. It’s no fun when one person shoulders 80% of the narrative and interaction responsibility, much less when that someone is you (speaking from experience).
This further feeds into the idea of ensuring that exchanges are equivalent. Meaning that if I put the time and effort into a scene or stuff revolving around your characters/ideas etc. exclusively, I expect the same to be done for me. There have been occasions where someone is on-point with replies when it comes to stuff exclusively focused on THEIR character, but the minute it shifts focus to mine they suddenly drop off/take way longer inbetween replies and the momentum screeches to a halt. That, isn’t fair. This is a team effort here, there has to be a give and take. Of course the stuff involving your character would hypothetically matter more to you, but in my mind- a rp where you only care about one member of your cast and not the group/story as a whole isn’t a very good one. It should be fun/engaging no matter who the focus is on.
And, really- at the end of the day that’s what rp is about for me. Having fun sharing in a great story and characters with someone else. Having them go on adventures/go through developments and grow- it’s fun. Roleplay should be a fun, de-stressing sort of experience. Unless the scene in question is tense. If you find it to be a chore- then please, open up and talk with me about it. Because my goal is to make sure that both of us are having fun with what we’re doing- otherwise we won’t wanna keep doing it!
(Bonus: Pet-peeve) - I only have one pet peeve when it comes to rp. And that’s when someone writes a response, sends it, I reply, and their character responds with “I wasn’t finished talking.”
Unless you indicate some form of opportunity for interruption in the character’s dialogue using something like a hyphen, I will be operating under the assumption that the character has said their full piece and that thus I can respond with mine. Please, please, PLEASE do not negate what my character says with the “I wasn’t finished” line if you make it seem as though your character is, in fact, finished.

Young and Menace Chapter 3 is out!
Shouta frowned into his noodles, unable to argue with the logic. Silence spread between them again, the ambient sounds of the 7/11 and the sound of rattling wrappers and chewing becoming the background. “Do you remember the time that Oboro called the radio station while you were interning and pretended to be your mom?” He asked, unsure why that thought had come to him then.
Hizashi choked, leaving Shouta to eye him warily but the other man had a grin on his face before taking a swig of his chumai. “Everyone was so fucking confused who he was talking about, ‘My sweet Hizashi is so smart, you must let him have airtime’, everyone was like ‘who the hell is Hizashi?’ Meanwhile I’d been bringing ‘em coffee and shit for months.”
Shouta let out a snort before he returned his focus back to his ramen, taking another bite of the still chewy noodles as Hizashi said, “Remember when he decided that it would be funny to drench the fire portion of the USJ?”
“I thought Sorcerer was going to have a seizure.”
“How was I supposed to know water would ruin it, they told me to figure it out and I did,” Hizashi said, bordering on a painful impression of Oboro’s voice.
Shouta sniffed, clearing his nose from what he told himself was the effect of the spicy broth on his sinuses. Hizashi nudged his knee against Shouta’s, his face surprisingly open when Shouta looked over. “You going down memory lane or something?”
“I always think about him,” Shouta admitted, not seeing the point in trying to downplay it, at least not to Hizashi. Oboro had never left his mind. He wasn’t sure if he ever would. “I don’t know if that’s normal. I don’t really care if it is or not.”
He kept his eyes on his noodles, not reacting to the way that Hizashi sucked in a shaky breath. “I don’t know if it is either,” the normally bombastic man muttered, “but you’re not alone in that one.”
More thoughts under here:
- So I think that mutant quirks in BNHA are really interesting as a way to play with the issue of visible vs invisible disabilites. Both are rough, both are debilitating, no question. But being visibly disabled is really, really goddamned hard. I have Tourette’s but you generally wouldn’t know if you were talking to me, not unless I was tired, stressed or comfortable with you, or a combo of all three. My medication has really helped and my tics are very subtle. This did not used to be the case and let me tell you this very plainly, it is much easier to be able to ‘pass’ as neurotypical than to be visible.
In this chapter in particular, I really like the idea of Shouta having to deal with the fact that, while he has faced quirk discrimination that has legitimately been unfair, he can at least still go into a store and buy a soda without being noticed. I’ve noticed a LOTTTT, especially in fanon, that people tend to really focus on people with difficult/problematic emitter quirks and kinda tend to treat them like the pinnacle of awfulness but uh, they can still hide. (this is also why I lose a lot of patience with Shinsou, both in canon and especially in fanon. Sure he hasn’t had it great but like... he isn’t covering his face because he thinks he’s a monster or looking like the legit embodiment of a villain, dark shadow and all)
- Get ready for lots of bits where I play with how society handles its mutant population and the issues therein. I love thinking about this shit. I LOVE IT, it’s so interesting to me.
- You might be wondering about the ‘seeing sound’ thing. I’ve decided in my head that Hizashi’s parents had these two quirks that, when combined, have created a mutant with a voice quirk and also a weird set of eyes that indicate a visual quirk in his ancestry, while also not expecting that Mic would have a dangerous quirk at birth and not have earplugs in just in case. One parent had a quirk called ‘Subtitle’, which basically makes it so they can see words that are said, kinda like how we can see the ‘YEAAAAAH’ in Mic’s screams and can amp up their voice to a certain extent. The other has a Mimic quirk, a mutant quirk where they can mimic any sound at any frequency, though they never used their power quite to the extent that Mic does. They just think that they can mimic things very well, they had no idea that their power was actually that they had incredibly good control over the sounds that they could make.
- Murcielago is a fun character and I have so much backstory, y’all.

BNHA Comfort-Tober
Prompts: Sunrise | Royal | ”Hey baby, I think I want to marry you.”
From what he remembers, the sunrises in Hawaii are stunning. Toshinori is far too old to have been up all night, but with the sky so clear, the peace so deep, and a very willing and enthusiastic partner in his bed, it hadn’t been that difficult to get up before the dawn to sneak down to a deserted beach to watch it come up.
Speaking of his partner, Shouto has stepped over to a small coffee shop to grab them caffeine to watch the sun come up before they retreat to their hotel room again. Somewhere nearby, a radio plays, close enough for Toshinori to pick up on the lyrics.
It’s a beautiful night. We’re looking for something dumb to do. Hey baby, I think I want to marry you.
Shouto comes back to the car, two cups in his hands, unbothered by the heat of the coffee. He hands one to Toshinori, then hops up on the hood next to him. With only the light of false dawn to frame him, hair loose and tangled from their evening activities, Shouto is so gorgeous, he nearly steals Toshinori’s breath.
He must feel Toshinori’s gaze on him because he glances up from blowing on his coffee. “Is there something on my face?” he asks, pulling a loose lock back behind his ear.
Intercepting his hand, Toshinori says, “No. Not a thing. I was just... thinking.”
“About?” Shouto asks. It’s an undemanding query, curious but not if Toshinori chooses not to answer, he won’t be bothered. Toshinori doesn’t think he’s ever had a lover who seems to read him so well.
“Marriage,” Toshinori says honestly, the chorus of the song playing again.
Shouto chokes on the sip he just took, and Toshinori pats his back to help clear it while Shouto coughs. When he can speak again, he says, “That’s...” Toshinori waits, but Shouto turns his gaze out to the sea, where the first sliver of the sun is creeping over the horizon. “Just... let me know when you’re ready to move on,” he finally says, wistful, almost pained.
Surprised, Toshinori takes Shouto’s chin in his hand and turns him to face him again. “Shouto, the only one I want to marry is you.”
In the barely-there light, the colors of Shouto’s eyes are muted, but they’re still wide.
“You can’t want that,” he says, not like he’s refusing, but like he can’t believe it. “You’re... you’re hero royalty, and I’m...”
“Also a hero,” Toshinori points out gently. “And a very good one.” He takes a breath and says, “If you’ve no interest in marrying an old man, I understand--”
“Yes!” Shouto blurts, interrupting. “I mean, no. I mean--” He blows his bangs up, the way he does when he’s frustrated, and Toshinori finds it endlessly endearing. “If you’ll have me, yes, I’ll marry you.”
“Even though I’m a washed up old man?” Toshinori can’t help but tease.
“Not washed up,” Shouto says, a undertone of censure in his voice. “And an experienced partner is, in my experience, a very good thing,” he adds with a small grin curling one side of his mouth. “And I would be honored to marry you, Yagi Toshinori. If you meant it, that is.”
“Nothing would make me happier,” he says, setting aside his coffee to pull Shouto into his arms.
They miss the sunrise, wrapped up in one another, but there will be other sunrises. Kissing Shouto as the sun comes up and warms them both is a memory Toshinori wouldn’t trade for the world.

This is one of my pet favorite rare pairs, and I’ve got a monster headache at work for the next work that’s making writing very difficult, so I thought I’d try to do shorts for Comfort-tober. Hey y’all so I watched a YouTube video that I think was wrong, and as you know it’s illegal to be wrong on the internet, so I wrote a response!

Spoilers for BNHA, in both the video and my response (which I wanted to put in the comments on the video, but apparently YouTube gets pissy about copypasting? Anyway)
Also, probably watch the video before reading this, since a lot of this is a direct response to the points they brought up.

I’d like to preface this by saying that you’ve made some valid comments, and that I understand where you’re coming from here.
My Hero Academia is, overall, a story about amazing people with amazing powers doing amazing things, and it’s difficult to see where someone with no power at all might fit in to this, which is the main emotional conflict Izuku faces throughout his childhood, that fundamental dichotomy between his wanting to save people, and his (assumed) inability to do so without a quirk.
But My Hero Academia is also a story that likes to repeatedly assert that anyone can be a hero. From Aizawa with his non-physical quirk, who primarily uses support gear to defeat enemies many times stronger than him, to Shinsou, whose quirk is seen as villainous, who would likely have to fight against other heroes as often as he would villains thanks to the prejudice that’s positively dripping from BNHA’s world.
So I’d like to explain why I disagree.
First, you begin the video by talking about the people who claim that Izuku’s getting a quirk ruins the story. I would like to make it clear, right off the bat, that I don’t hold this view. I believe that while Izuku having a quirk weakens the impact of the story and cheapens a lot of its messages, there is still undoubtedly a story there to be told, and one that is worth telling.
The reason I believe that Izuku receiving One For All weakens the story is because BNHA is all about the consequences of the kind of society wide prejudice that exists within its world. Every villain the characters face and every problem they overcome is one spawned by the very status quo they’ve spent their childhoods dreaming of upholding- the hero system.
Stain exists because heroes are held in awe by the general population without truly being worthy of it, treated as saviors despite being little more than glorified cops, which spawns anger and resentment from people intelligent enough to see past their facades.
Dabi exists because pro heroes are allowed to get away with just about anything so long as they’re covert about it, and in fact might have grown up to be a hero himself if Endeavor had been held to a higher moral standard by those around him, or had been appropriately punished for his behavior.
All For One exists because “strong” quirks are revered, and those who hold them are taught early to take what they want by force.
Shigaraki exists because those with “unpleasant” quirks are reviled and held in disgust by the general population, which makes them vulnerable to exploitation by outside forces due to their lacking support systems.
I could go on, but I’m sure you get the point.
In my opinion, BNHA has always been centered around the society quirks have created and the consequences therein. I dare you to find a major character arc that doesn’t intersect with the universe’s social issues in some way.
Thus, I believe the message that BNHA attempts to convey would be significantly stronger I’d Izuku had remained quirkless, demonstrating once and for all that quirks and heroism aren’t so intertwined as it might seem.
Instead, it shoots itself in the foot, saying repeatedly that it’s not a quirk that makes a hero, but rather their spirit, while at the same time leaving it implied that the most important character of all would never have been able to help people if not for being given All Might’s power. (Again, it doesn’t ruin the story, but it does hamstring the core message somewhat.)
You say here that Izuku getting saved by All Might is the only reason he became a hero at all, being “saved from his fate of irrelevance”.
This is… Not something I agree with, to state it politely.
Izuku was planning to attend UA’s entrance exam long before he met All Might. Given that he is, you know, Izuku, I don’t think any amount of shittiness from Katsuki would have deterred him from trying. In fact, trying despite the odds against him making it seem idiotic to do so is one the largest parts of his character.
The way you speak of needing to give him a “resilient streak” for him to keep trying despite All Might’s discouragement implies that he doesn’t already have one wide enough to suffer through 14 years of being told he’d never make it as a hero. With how much he’s already pushed through by the time the story even starts, I really doubt All Might would succeed again breaking his will any more than anyone else has.
You say that Izuku’s arc is all about facing the guilt of having reached his goals purely through chance while so many others remain downtrodden.
That’s valid, and I agree.
You also say that this is not a character arc he could have had without One For All, which is not.
Merely being the first quirkless person to make it into UA would likely start this, as he would definitely still have to get through the exam on rescue points, which could feel unearned to him, what with his massive case of imposter syndrome.
Thus, it would still be entirely possible to give him the same overall character arc he has in canon, and it might in fact end up even more pronounced, due to all the discrimination he’d face from the general public.
You say that for this Izuku to continue, even despite All Might’s rejection, he would already have to have the sense of self worth such a character arc eventually gives him.
This is not the case. There are many instances in real life of people pushing past impossible odds and still not feeling as if they deserve to have made it to the other side. In fact, what would likely happen is that he’d try to be a hero anyway and then feel guilty for attempting it even after being discouraged by his hero.
So no, he’s not Naruto, because the personality changes you propose wouldn’t actually be necessary to give him a fighting chance as a hero without a quirk.
The next big point you make is that it would be difficult to give Izuku the standard shounen power crawl without a cool quirk.
You’re correct that technology would have a difficult time stacking up to One For All without feeling like an asspull, making him a Mary Sue, or needing to give him a seemingly infinite array of gadgets, a la Batman.
Notice I said difficult, NOT impossible. While it can be much harder to turn technology into a realistic way to fight superpowered villains, it CAN be done.
Not to mention, there is already a character in BNHA who does it and does it well.
Aizawa doesn’t have a combat oriented quirk, instead fighting almost exclusively with the use of his capture scarf, using which he is shown to be able to take out upwards of ten villains, depending on where you want to pull from. I really don’t think it would be so unrealistic to give a quirkless Izuku something along these lines.
Not that we even need to. We can have Izuku beating villains without the use of any technology he couldn’t buy for himself. (At least in a place with lax safety laws, which I imagine his world likely is due to how pointless it would be to heavily restrict the purchase of things like guns when there are people running around who can shoot glaciers from their hands)
Ninety percent of villains are as vulnerable to getting shot as a normal human. If that’s too violent and bloody for the tone of the show, there are dozens of ways to beat the villains with things like hairspray flamethrowers, slingshots, and traditional weapons (just look at Stain). While quirks certainly are powerful, they aren’t perfect and every ability has a counter, even if it’s not always immediately obvious.
This eliminates the problem of him needing to get his tech from somewhere entirely. (Which is almost a con, because Mei needs more screentime, man)
Actually your point of possibly making Izuku a “super genius” reminds me of something else. Izuku has an almost supernatural ability to identify and counter quirks. Gee, I wonder how that could be useful in a possible plot line where he’s unable to rely on being able to smash his way through problems…
You say that if Izuku getting a quirk is an issue for BNHA, giving him overpowered tech would be a problem as well. Though I already solved this problem by proposing less tech heavy solutions, I’ve decided not to skip over this point because it seems like the right place for me to bring up a piece of context you may be missing for why some people are so against Izuku being given a quirk.
Let’s talk about the disability angle.
Now, as someone with mental disabilities myself, I’m not exactly unbiased here. I’m not going to deny that I have a knee jerk reaction to any story that gives a character a disability (or something analogous within the setting to a disability, like quirklessness) and then “cures” it while implying that they never would have gotten anywhere if their disability had persisted. This is actually why I took so long to get into the BNHA fandom, since I saw a loose outline of the plot and immediately went “oh hell no”.
I did end up joining the fandom in the end, simply because I’m almost certain that this parallel was unintentional.
Anyway, the reason why giving him an overpowered quirk and giving him overpowered tech are so different from a lot of people’s perspectives is that giving him tech doesn’t erase his “disability”. If you give a quirkless Izuku powerful tech, he’ll still be quirkless, with all the hurdles and challenges that implies. (Especially the discrimination related ones) Meanwhile, giving Izuku a quirk removes the disability entirely, as well as most associated difficulties.
I’m sure you can see why one seems so ableist, from a disabled perspective.
You say that you would likely run out of ways to meaningfully progress his tech, in a series as long as BNHA likely will be by its conclusion, but I’d like to point out that this is just as much of a problem with superpowered media. It’s very common in shounen for power progression to feel like more and more of an asspull as the story progresses. Thus, you solve the problem in the same way, by relying more on clever use of what the hero already possesses than you do on creating a new application or ability in every fight.
And no, I can think of several ways to beat both Dabi and Shigaraki without “science magic”. Obviously, neither of them are immune to bullets, though again, that’s probably a bit too quick for this show. You could take down Shigaraki if you could numb his hands somehow, or if you protected yourself with something made of many interlocking parts, like chain mail. You could beat Dabi if you used something like a taser, if you could get close enough to use it. You could also just find a way to outlast him, since he’s not immune to his own fire. Maybe bring some gasoline?
I’m going to skip over the points you make while talking about setting, since I don’t believe you’d have to alter the setting to make a quirkless Izuku feasible.
I will talk acknowledge one point you make while discussing setting simply so I can say: inequality and societal imbalance do not require much, or even any, actual disparity in ability to both exist and be prevalent enough to disenfranchise huge chunks of a population. Just look at how autistic and ADHD people are treated for that. (Or gay people, or women, or the Poors(™)...)
In conclusion, your opinion is valid but I think you lack knowledge of where most of this criticism is actually coming from, which isn’t something you should be ashamed of.
I think the reason mine and your opinions are so fundamentally different here is that we’re coming from very different places, and our thoughts on a piece of media like this are always going to be shaped by our environment.

“are you cheating on me, katsuki?”
you didn’t think he was actually cheating, and you weren’t exactly inspired by anyone.
you just wanted to know what he’d say to that and if he was actually cheating then.. 😕 welp.
but y’know, you just wanted to fuck with his head, make him doubt his sanity a little bit /hj for some reason, he’s always the subject to your antics 💀
coming up with the idea, and asking him was easier said than done; the easiest part of all of it. but how you’d deal with his reaction? that was a different story.
hearing the question itself was successful in distracting him, and giving him whiplash,
but seeing as you were entirely, and utterly serious and not a single camera was in sight.
“what.”
“i asked, if you were—”
“i know, i heard ya loud and clear,” he turns to give you his full attention, “but why the hell would i do that? you think anyone else is capable of handlin’ me?”
seeing that you were not satisfied with his answer, he sighs, absolutely revolted, and repulsed by the idea of cheating on you.
“what’s this?” you ask, as he hands you your phone; unlocked. his lockscreen that is a picture of you stares right back at you.
“check every single thing if you want to make things sure.” as if to make things easier for you, he opens his messaging app.
“but just so you know, i’d never.. do that. still not sure where you got that stupid idea.” his face scrunches up in authentic disgust, and he flicks your forehead.
“ouch! that hurt, katsuki!”
“listen, and remember this, then.” he ignores you, “i may be a shithead, and a complete asshole. but y’know..”
“y’know what?”
“—’m not completely used to this relationship thing, and you know that. yet, you’re still willing to try things out with me. sometimes i wonder if i even deserve it.”
“fucking up is a scary thought. i could just shit myself if i think about it too much.” you gasp at the comment, laughing at the idea of him doing something like that. it doesn’t sound like something he’d do.
katsuki huffs, rolling his eyes; an act of concealing his relief. “so, fuck no. i haven’t been cheating on you, and will never. ‘m serious about that. but, you’re free to check things for yourself.”
if you tell him that you were just joking with him, and that you don’t think he’s actually cheating, he’s gonna be so done with you and your foolery
|| TODOROKI SHŌTO
“shōto, have you been cheating on me?”
seeing that mina did this to her s/o, this made you curious of your own lover, and what could come out of asking.
no, you’re not doubting his loyalty, you just like to know how shōto would respond to such a question.
plus you want to vibe check his ass 🌝
despite this being a result of you being curious, and eager to know his answer, you were still pretty anxious. if he ended up fessing up something he did fr, it might just be your (real) 13th reason 😭
but then again, it’s shōto we’re talking about. you have faith in him🧎��♀️
you were able to catch your boyfriend at a good time, as this allows you to gain an authentic answer from shōto.
he was slurping down his favorite soba noodles when you randomly questioned him, and when your words finally sinked into his mind, the slurping came to an abrupt halt.
you could say that he lost his appetite at the idea of cheating on you 💀
“no, never.” shōto replies, with noodles still in his mouth. he chews on the remaining noodles, swallowing them down.
“did i do something wrong?” he asks. though his expression still contained some ounce of neutrality, you could tell by looking at his eyes, he’s saddened at the concept.
he wonders what gave you that idea, and thinks hard. ofc he doesn’t find anything.
you’re like.. the first and only person he developed the feels ™️ for, and that has made him feel this way. so, the idea of breaking, and betraying your trust, is maddening.
“i did, didn’t i? that’s why you’re asking..” he sets down his utensils to get closer to you.
“i can’t think of anything i’ve done wrong, but i’d like to make up for it.”
he gets a hold of your hand, and starts playing with your fingers, “i want you to know how i’ve always felt about you.”
it’s about time you tell him.
“shōto, it was a joke. i don’t think you’ve actually cheated on me,” you press a kiss on his cheek, “i know you love me waaaay too much.”
shōto offers a small smile in return, and slowly starts to finish his soba, the tip of his ears now blushed in red.
so, shōto definitely passes the vibe check 🌝😎
MIDORIYA IZUKU ||
“izuku, have you been seeing secretly someone i’m not completely aware of?” 🙁🤨
poor him tbh.
like the other two, curiosity got the best of you.
but this happened to pop up during the busiest time regarding class activity, making it impossible to go on any weekly couple dates, or see each other like usual
and that’s in general.
this was also so conveniently timed, your reasoning behind asking such a cursed question has been split into two 💀
though you’re certain that izuku’s not the type, you definitely want to know if he has any interesting, and new to say. though it’s still fine if he didn’t.
catching him at a good time was challenging considering how busy the two of you have been.
and that he’s the most workaholic-y dude out of the main three 😀
but getting the question out was a lot easier, since izuku’s well.. izuku. though he’s multitasking, you could clearly tell that he’s still hearing, and listening to your every word.
which is why his expression dropped in mortification and the pen in his hand fell, when you went straight to the chase.
“w-what?” he repeats, shocked at the idea of literally breaking your trust, seeing, and harboring feelings for someone that isn’t you, is mind boggling and literally idiotic 💀
“no! never. i haven’t, but.. why do you ask? what made you think that way, y/n?” abandoning his current task, he turns to you, and is immediately lost in thought, left to think more about his behavior as of recent.
he thought about it so hard, you were convinced that his brain was going to give out 😦
he breaks the silence, “it’s because of the lack of time together?”
“i’m sorry, you might be getting sick of me saying it, but i really am!” if you looked closely, his eyes are starting to look glassier in appearance “i know you say that i overexert myself at times, which is true. i don’t even realize i am, i’m going to work on it though, i promise!”
seeing him like this is literally breaking your heart 🙁 you should definitely end his suffering by breaking the news to him.
“izuku, it’s okay.” you reassure him, “we were all equally busy these past few weeks, and i’m honestly proud seeing you continuously work hard. just because we haven’t been out on any dates lately, doesn’t mean you’re automatically disloyal to me. i know you.”
“so then why—”
“i was curious. i’m sorry for stopping your heart like that, ‘zuku.” because it really felt like it did for a second 💀 this has him crying and throwing up on the inside 😭
“oh, alright..” he mumbles, faltering for a split second. but his eyes light up, as if he remembered something special.
“so, can i take you out on a date?”
“sure, when?”
“right now.”
“oh?”
“can i please take you out on a date? right now? if you want. i’m.. actually done with all of my stuff for the day.”
his eyes light up, and continue to sparkle with elation and joy, when you say yes, returning his enthusiasm.

i’d like to believe that shouto’s hands would be long and pretty— kinda like how i’d imagine akaashi and kageyama’s hands
but have y’all seen that man’s hands in the anime and manga 😳 they’re not really what i’d call them “long”
so i had to find a mid point, kinda like a fusion of both.
his hands are either really pale, or the knuckles are just really red
moving on..
you have a weird infactuation with his hands, and you were gonna tell him! but you just didn’t know when
he didn’t really get it at first??
yes, he will respect and properly entertain your interests. but.. his hands? he doesn’t get that part yet
shouto can say he takes care of them well. washing his hands at least 3 times a day, and applying lotion on them with the slightest mint scent in it
and he takes care of his hands because he needs to rely on them everytime he uses his quirk.
speaking of quirk— his hands are either scorching to the touch, or cold.
so the first time he reaches out for your hand, you just.. freeze?? you were talking about something random while walking with him
then he just suddenly reached for your hand
seeing your reaction, he’s like.. “oh. my hand must be too cold for them. gotta switch.”
then he switches hands, holding your hand with his left. and you’re still the same, and it appears to be that switching didn’t really help
scenario
“what’s wrong, love?” he pulls you aside, staring at your expression— seeing that you became stiff when he reached for your touch.
you want to downplay the entire situation, really. but shouto doesn’t budge, that’s just who he is, and he’s still left wondering what’s wrong, and if he did something.
that is until you mention his hands, and that you like them
“your hands.. are really nice i guess,” you avert your gaze “i like them.” you say in almost a whisper like tone.
he sighs in relief. and he feels better that it’s not about the fact that you hate the temperature of his hands, since they’re either abnormally sahara desert hot or cold like fresh snow on a december morning.
his cheeks flare pink for a moment, in sudden realization “y-you like my hands?” shouto asks this as a confirmation, hoping that he actually heard it correctly.
but when you nod, he takes full advantage— entertaining your interest in his hands to his best abilities
he smiles when he sees your expression change when he brushes the back of your hand with his own. then, he finally holds your hand— the coolness of his right hand is making you hyper aware
your heart only pounds faster against your chest, when he presses his lips to the back of your hand, maintaining eyecontact as he does soz
after dating you, he paints his nails with clear nail polish. it makes him feel better knowing that they’ll stay clean even with all the hectic training
to calm you down, he likes to rub his thumb against your cheek— his quirk slightly activating while he stares into your eyes
a little spicy; but whenever you eat your desert during a date, he will wipe the excess off the side of your lips, and ask you to lick it off.
is he teasing you? or is he serious? we will never know.
bakugou katsuki
SCREAMs
bakugou’s hands are big, and his veins are prominent— but not too veiny to the point it’s concerning.
he sometimes likes wearing rings but.. that’s just sometimes
his hands are strangely soft, especially the palms— but he could say there’s some rough spots here and there, but he’d guess it’s because of his quirk.
bakugou’s hands are always warm and sweaty, which he never actually cared about— until he started dating you
he’s kinda worried that you wouldn’t wanna hold his hand, but you can say it’s actually the opposite?
you really like his hands.. but you’re just scared of getting judged
so when he reaches for your hand, you try to pretend that he wasn’t? you turn your head away— trying to not look the slightest bit of dazed
scenario
“what’s up with you?” bakugou interrogates you, his ruby irises glaring into your eyes— his voice gruff
“what?” you question, the sudden action was out of the blue— and you hold in your breath when his hands cage you in, large hands pressed on the wall behind you
“HAH?” he yells, not amused by your sudden oblivion, “don’t act dumb,” he grits his teeth “spit it out, and tell me what’s wrong.”
“nothing’s wrong, suki— i don’t really follow?” you try to convince him that no, i’m totally not afixiated with something about you, even though you’re my boyfriend; i don’t wanna admit that. however— you’re not very slick.
“tch, fucking liar.” his eyes narrow, “if you hate my fuckin’ hands, then i prefer it if you were honest about it.”
“sorry, but what?” you blink, suddenly appalled by his words, “hate.. your hands?”
“because that’s what it is, huh?” he moves even closer to you, practically inches away; and you can only pray that he can’t hear the rather loud beating of your heart. “my hands are so sweaty that you don’t wanna touch em, is that it?”
you’re agitated by his misunderstanding, and you sigh; finally deciding to come clean. “fine! fine. i like your hands.”
you didn’t mean to make it sound that upfront.
bakugou blinks, the sudden tension releasing into thin air, his expression left almost as equally surprised as you.
“tch. so that’s how it is,” he smirks, and by the way it looks— you suddenly regret telling him that.
well.. not really?
he actually takes advantage of that, making sure you remember his hands nicely.
when he sits next to you on the couch, he’ll throw his beefy ass arm around your shoulders like usual. then, he’ll run his hand up and down, making sure you’re aware of his touch.
bakugou will be THAT BITCH that’ll gesture you to come over so he could kiss you,
and when you’re leaning in— he’ll pinch your cheek, a sly grin on his face.
a little spicy; but he’s the type to rest his hand on your neck when you guys kiss <3 ugh
but overall— he’s really glad you actually like his hands, and it wasn’t like you hated them at all
but GOSH he just wished you told him from the start >:T
midoriya izuku
less veins, but.. DAMN THEY’RE KINDA THICK?? not too thick but.. have you seen his hands in the manga??
of course— his hands are rough, with a bunch of scars from his quirk. which he was kinda conscious about
but he tries hard to take care of them outside of combat things in fights; if they’re damaged then.. oh well
he definitely fiddles with pencils, and when he’s studying— the chance of him having a silver’s hand is likely (the thing where the graphite smeers on the back of your hand) he hates that shit
he definitely has a writer’s callus. PROVE ME WRONG!! that man writes a lot, and so do i so 😌 twinsies
but he tries to keep them clean, and he wants to make them feel less rough— so he will invest in some hand cream
compared to the other two, midoriya’s hands are normal in temperature.
but his grip is firm but he doesn’t really realize it sometimes.
you like his hands because.. the detail on his hands leave you mesmerized
but you don’t really wanna weird him out or make him uncomfortable. since he gets really flustered quick.
and you don’t want him to just stare at his hands and think about your fascination about them. no distractions
but he gets real pouty when you pull away
scenario
“hey Y/N, do you.. hate holding hands with me?” izuku asks one day, when you guys are studying in your room
“what?” you tilt your head, really surprised by his question— since you guys sat in silence for the last few minutes. you can feel the edge in your stomach grow when he mentions his hands.
“you always pull away when i try to hold your hand.” you gesture him to continue what he’s saying, and he continues “ but i get it though! my hands are.. scarred, rough. they’re kinda ugly compared to the rest of the guys.” he’s rambling, and you can’t help but feel really saddened.
“izuku, no.” you shake your head, “your hands aren’t ugly. yeah, they may be scarred and all— but they saved a lot of people, it saved eri, and it helped you get to where you are today.”
izuku’s cheeks flush with red, and he can’t say that you’re wrong. but; though he’s provided with reassurance, that’s not the answer he wanted
“but why won’t you hold my hand?”
“because i..” averting your eyes to the wall behind him, you’re looking for the right words. “i like your hands. i didn’t want to make you feel weird because of me.”
you look at his face after the confession, and it’s just ingulfed in a red shade.
on the contrary, this makes him like his hands more. everytime he looks at his hands, he’ll be motivated by your words.
but he’ll be a little shy with acting on it at first; especially in public
but fear not! izuku may seem innocent, but he also knows what he’s doing so.. don’t be decieved
when he’s studying, he’ll write with his right hand, and feed you little snacks with his left hand— urging you to open your mouth and take the snack
after sparring with you he’ll comment on how you did so good, also while placing his hands on your shoulder— massaging any sore parts
a little spicy, but when you guys are kissing, HIS HANDS WILL ROAM TO PLACES. pulling you closer as he attacks your lips
overall— he might be a little shy at first, but he can say he’s pretty accepting of your interest in his hands. it makes him feel better about the appearance of his hands.

BnHA Chapter 316: We've Had One, Yes, But What About Second Explosion
Previously on BnHA: Deku was all “[powers up like whoa because it’s time to end the fight]”, and he saved Overhaul from getting not-shot, and then smashed up Nagant’s arm with the power of his new rechargeable super knees. Nagant was all “yoooo this kid is crazy strong whaaaat, it’s like he’s some kind of protagonist or something.” Deku was all “I AM A PROTAGONIST, ACTUALLY, DO YOU WANT TO JOIN FORCES AND FIGHT BAD GUYS WITH ME?” Nagant was all “ah shit why the hell no -- ” and then AFO was all “SURPRISE” and everyone was all “?!?!?!” and AFO was all “TIME TO EXPLODE NOW” and made Nagant explode because he’s an absolute fucking dick. And then Hawks showed up, because Horikoshi just wanted to stuff as many plot points as humanly possible into a single chapter I guess.
Today on BnHA: Hawks is all “good job giving motivational shounen redemption speeches Deku but I’ll take it from here” and screams very earnestly right in Nagant’s face until she finally wakes up. Nagant is all “oh hey it’s my successor, you seem surprisingly unfucked-up from your own HPSC tenure, how did you manage that?” Hawks is all “fandom is going to love hearing this one, but basically it’s because I’m very upbeat and also I had the world’s best role model Endeavor to look up to,” and I swear this man stirs the pot on purpose, but damn it I still love him so damn much. Overhaul is all “HELLO AGAIN, JUST A REMINDER THAT, THE BOSS!!” and Deku is all “MAYBE TAKE TWO SECONDS TO REFLECT ON HOW YOU TORTURED A LITTLE GIRL,” which, thank you, lol. Nagant is all “btw AFO’s hiding in a house in the woods”, and so Deku and the gang go to the house in the woods. Video recording!AFO is all “hi I’m AFO welcome to Jackass” and blows up the house. Sometimes I wonder if this manga is just a weird dream.
I am once again reading the Bean version because I think it was actually the best out of all three translations last week. and that is surprisingly including Viz’s. “faux” is not nearly as entertaining as “knockoff”, and also I have literally no idea why Caleb thought Deku was saying the Third’s lines lol

What the Future Holds
“It is the temptation of war to punish; it is the task of policy to construct.” (Henry Kissinger).
There has been a lot of debate around what is going to happen after (the heroes win? AfO is defeated? The Villains are saved? - are all valid hypothesis), right at the end of BNHA. Long ago, though, someone asked - what would be the reaction of the civilians at large when this all goes down? We know for a fact that while, more or less, our protagonists are in the loop of what exactly went down with the villains (or at least that they have not had a lot of positive experiences and possibilities to grow up as good as them), the civilians know close to nothing (apart from Touya’s broadcast, which in hindsight should be at least enough to make space way for the possibility of civilians understanding the woes of the villains and trying to accept the change which this ending will brings, and yet) when it comes to this matter. Will they be able to accept ‘a hero’ saving ‘a villain’? Will the change in society, the abolishment of a Quirk Society in general and the aftermath of the war (likely the cancellation of the hero rankings, and just the demotion of the title hero as profession) be accepted eventually?
While these are question to which I would like to answer ‘It depends’, I’d say that it might be the case, but the change will be slow, gradual and likely painful. Let’s take the example of Heteromorph Quirks, which, so many years after the discovery and establishment of quirks, are still looked down upon. This highlights the struggle with which this society adapts, and that it adapts to only certain parts of the society (which are usually the pretty parts, while the ugly ones are or ignored or just thoroughly refused to look at). It is the same principle we see in not only the narrative of Lady Nagant (and the rose-colored glasses with which civilians see society and pro-heroes), and the villains themselves (as their Quirks made them unfit for the general public to be displayed or used) but also in the same narrative which Izuku carries - he struggles to accept himself as someone who is Quirkless, and takes his chances to inherit All Might’s power, a little because of his dreams and more because that way he can also be part of that same society who treated him like shoe’s dirt before he gained ‘power’ and a standing as a UA student with a Quirk fit to be a hero.
We can see and take a little bit from what is probably going to be the reaction to the ending, both by seeing the reaction we have to Dabi’s broadcast, the press conference of the Top 3 and Izuku going rogue and looking villainy, as well as the public’s reaction to him coming back to UA.
Being likely familiar with these scenario, it definitely does not hit as a positive-filled situation, but rather the outage of the small mindedness and the expectancy of a perfect world division in villains and heroes by the civilians. Yes, it is the famous panel of the dichotomy of heroes and villains and look who already did foresee this so long ago: a villain, which is hilarious in itself but also pretty logical if you think about it.
The thing is, that as told millions times before the core problem of this society is that it does not understand nuance (and so doesn’t this fandom, for that matter): everything should be white or black, good or bad, hero or villain. But in reality, this dichotomy falls short of understanding what is hidden behind the curtain: the ugly truth of the fact that sometimes there is no good or bad, and that maybe sometimes the good is not as good and bad is not as bad. And as said million times before again, this stems from the fact that a. society has been kept in the dark from the deeds that the HPSC has done all these years, therefore conditioning and manipulating society into believing that a distinction exists; and b. it is rather easier to separate the good and the bad guys by a simple principles like a working label and to stick to it, even in front of rather compelling evidence. In the end, it is clear that the public has trust issues at their finest, but it then shows what a shaky base these society has been built on: a rather fine balance, which has been topped over once the castle of cards has been knocked down.
It is in the hands of the new generation then, to attempt and change how thing have been so far. Retributive justice, just like in the quote above, is always tempting - and it is no brainer that it will be likely very hard for the civilian to accept whatever is thrown at them in the end, which does not involve the imprisonment and therefore the punishment of the villains. But at the same time, it is also true, that slowly but steadily things are staring to look up: we have Shouto who wants to save his brother, and Izuku who instead is trying to understand the villains and why they become such, stemming from his will to understand and help Shigaraki. After all, their main power is to change things up: a change which, hilariously, can be seen concretely by Bakugou’s words in chapter 323. Bakugou, who is a byproduct of that same society, is admitting his faults and the fact that it happens at this moment is likely a foreshadow for a major scale change: after all, the entire society owes an apology to the villains, big time. It is not a case then, that the narrative is putting everything to its places and showing us the before, and the tough process of change and the consequences of it. In this scenario, Izuku, Shouto, Bakugou, Ochako and generally the UA kids play the role of policymakers: they are looking in the future, trying to get an overview of the situation which they know as true and the one the villains consider as true and then trying to do ‘the right thing’: unfortunately, there is never a right thing when it comes to these matters, and no shoe-fits-all solution. It will therefore be interesting how exactly things will play out and whether society (in a not so distant future) might accept the fact that the villains can be victims, and in search for the satisfaction of that same retributive justice they are trying to enforce on them. In my opinion, the effort made by the young generation in this matter will be crucial: some people will refuse to accept such a thing (blaming the villains for everything that went wrong since day 1), other will struggle with accepting it and likely will remain neutral (which, in hindsight, is even worse as it is somehow similar to the civilians that thoroughly ignored Tenko when we was clocharding of the streets) and the who begrudgingly might accept the fact that exactly like Dabi said, pro-heroes are not always heroes in private too and they have as much harm potential as villains, it just does not get publicly displayed. And maybe, slowly, society will come to the consensus that while not always the case, offering a hand to those who struggle, might save a life - and why not, maybe at one point they will stop classifying people as ‘heroes and villains’, and instead accept themselves as humans altogether. But such is the human struggle: lost in the will to put a label on things, and forgetting that unlike labels, humans have the infinite capacity to grow, expand and change.

Some more thoughts about the Kamino parallels...
So while I expected a Kacchan-Deku reunion, them being it in Kamino was a surprise and it has put into context a lot of things that happened in this arc.
1. They both start out as targets - in the Forest arc everyone knew Kacchan was the target, while during the war arc it became clear that Deku was one.
2. They both have their own protection squad - with which they don’t cooperate too well.
3. They both are villainized - Bakugou for his misunderstood-as violent behavior, Deku for his appearance and multiple quirks.
4. They both end up in Kamino - Bakugou facing a group of villains, with no hope to win - Deku facing a group of civilians, with no hope to save
5. A group of friends comes for both of them at the moment everything is lost (for now Kacchan is alone, but the cliffhanger let us know there are others with him).
So all these parallels make me think that there may have been a scene between Kacchan and Deku in the hospital - one where Deku pushed Kacchan away, with the parallel of:
7. Also, I think we may get some insights on how the current rescue team formed. Maybe it started with Todoroki and Bakugou. Maybe with Ochako, Todoroki and Iida to parallel this scene.
My top candidates are:
Shouto - there is no good illegal outing without Shouto. Also he called Endeavor, so maybe he wanted to give him the heads-up.
Iida - ditto serial rule breaker. Class prez and Midoriya-friend. He’s character arc is about realizing doing the right thing often requires breaking the rules.
Ochako - she chose not to go last time, because she was considering how Bakugou would feel. I think though she has since grown a lot in the let’s save people department
Froppy - she was one of the most vocal against it last time, thinking how breaking the rules would make them like villains. Hori hasn’t developed her in forever, but this is a good opportunity to show how her thinking evolved.
Kirishima - he was on the first Kamino crew, would 100% go with Bakugou anywhere, and it was mentioned that the first time around Dictator was arrested by Crust. Kirishima could make his appearance as the “new Crust”.
8. Holy hell - can you imagine all these kids, especially Deku and Bakugou to come back to Kamino and see this for the first time:

9. So while I think Bakugou and Deku may have had a moment in the hospital (or in the letter) Deku pushing Kacchan away - they haven’t had the DvK3 TALK yet. I don’t think we’ll get a fight with how beat up and exhausted Deku is, unless the Dictator gets a hold of one of them (most likely Deku then) in which case people may get their much desired Deku vs Class 2A.
But I think we are approaching the Talk, just how DvK3 followed the Kamino rescue (with a 20-chapter gap)
10. Wanna see how my boy, Shouto will fit into this. I’d love to see the flashback of the OFA-reveal for him - it must have been held back for a reason. Also, as third Origin / All Might-legacy character, it’s time to somehow insert him in the narrative. I’m thinking about how last time Dabi had a key role in Kamino by kidnapping Bakugou, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that plot-thread intersected again, and Dabi would make a move here - using the confusion.

What did you think of the newest chapters with Uraraka's speech?
I'd like to take a closer look to her speech, to see the exact words she was using, but for now I have a good opinion about it:
We're progressing towards saving the League of Villains, at least the main three: Toga, Tomura and Dabi.
The fact that is the younger generation calming down the public and not the UA staff or the big three heroes shouldn't be dismissed.
I love how Iida, Shoto and Bakugo reacted to Uraraka's speech.
Deku crying broke my heart honestly. But we can't forget that it's thanks to Uraraka that he made it into UA. She has always been right there to help him, right there to catch him if he falls.
We talk a lot about Deku's ability to analyze things so fast but Uraraka has a high analytical ability too. We saw her against Bakugo, against Toga, etc. That girl takes her job really serious.
Best Jeanist reaction to Uraraka's speech was priceless.
I do like how the manga slowed down the pace to make clear some things and reatake class 1-A into the narrative.
All the UA kids are really worried. The big pro-heroes don't know what to do, the UA staff is trying their best, but you can see the kids plotting. They know it's on them the chance to defeat AFO.
It's deadly important that the citizens were involved in the narrative. A hero can't save someone is society doesn't want to allow that person to make amends and try and get redeemed.
Every character in bnha has its role. They are all important in the big scheme. Just like Nighteye explained back on the Overhaul arc, Deku is able to win and change the future because he is the embodiment of the will of many.
I think class 1-B is gonna have something to do with the big end. Horikoshi has been planning something for them.
See how Uraraka was always inspired by Deku and wanted to be able to do something for him. This time it was her turn along Iida to open the way for Izuku.
I don't know what I keep thinking she's gonna need help coming down lol. Idk, it's a reflex maybe.
Also I keep thinking the kids of bnha are the key for something. I'm not sure yet. Horikoshi has showed us time and time again how the kids are a main tool to reach the general theme. I need to think about it.
There's a detail I love in this chapter. You know how Toga is always fake smiling because she was told to be normal? Well, I love the difference between making people fake smile to hide that there's something wrong and a real smile, of real feelings. All Might's smile was cool and everything but it was the representation of a society fake smiling, hiding the bad things to avoid dealing with them. I'd like to think that by watching people's expressions closer, Uraraka is making sure they are really smiling and not just hiding their pain.
Where's All Might? It's kinda suspicious to see Inko, to see the UA teachers and the big heroes, but All Might is nowhere to be seen. What is Horikoshi planning for him?
And where is Stain? Where is Toga?
I think it'd be interesting to make Toga find Stain by accident.
All I know it's that Stain has a bigger role to play. He has said before that Deku is a real hero. Maybe Stain is the one who's gonna tell the world to trust the UA kids. Maybe not.
I also think we're going to see the other villains again. Mr. Compress, Lady Nagant, Kurogiri, even Gentle and La Brava maybe. They're going to get their second chance.
I think one more conversation is needed for Shoto, Deku and Uraraka to solidify their resolution to save Dabi, Tomura and Toga. Who's gonna talk with them?
The UA being a fortress to symbolize this is the last battle? A giant underground labyrinth? And the kids plotting? It's gonna be great to see the different teams fighting simultaneously in different locations. I wonder how Horikoshi is going to team them up.
I wonder if the final battles are going to happen somewhere without that many people. The heroes should have learned their lessons by now and guide the villains to areas with less civilians.
I have a lot to say about the latest chapters but this is getting too long. So yeah, this is my opinion I guess?

Why do you think Hawks and BJ are the antagonist of the todofam? I don’t see it. I really got the impression that Dabi is the antagonists ?
How in the world is Dabi the antagonist when Dabi is the victim? Who’s set up to be saved by Shoto?
Anyway, as for Hawks and Jeanist, I’ll start off with these:
Jeanist is many things: a clear representation of literally everything wrong with hero society, and an unsympathetic asshole. Dabi didn’t “air his dirty laundry”, he told the truth. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts Jeanist.
His direct call out to Dabi saying “You will not get your way!” is a set up for Jeanist to face Dabi later in the story.
Hawks:
Hawks doesn’t care about Touya. He only cares about Endeavor. And like, there’s no reason to sympathize with Endeavor. None. He put himself in this situation, nobody DID this to him. He did it. And Hawks chooses to say Endeavor is the one in trouble. That’s a bad sign for his involvement in the Todoroki plot.
More for Hawks:
Does this look like a hero to you? It doesn’t to me.
Hawks the Hero murdered a villain. Regardless of his reasons, regardless of how justified people think he may have been (he wasn’t), he still did something very wrong. If you’re going to wear the title of “hero”, you can’t play judge and executioner all by yourself.
Hawks’s mentality of “somebody has to die” is just not right. Him killing Twice is not a good thing for the heroes. It’s a bad look.
Next:
Honestly, what do these two have to offer to the Todoroki family? Besides aiming to arrest Touya? They don’t sympathize with Touya, they don’t look at him as somebody that needs help. Also:
Call me crazy but...maybe the “root cause” is his POS father? Idk? MAYBE? The point is, BJ and Hawks are straight up ignoring Endeavor’s role in the creation of Dabi. Not good.
Finally, the main reason I believe they are the antagonists:
Shoto identifies with Touya. He is looking at him as his brother. Horikoshi kept all of this vague. “Handle” COULD mean a lot of things, but with the way the story is going, it’s pretty obvious that the world “handle” here is going to end up meaning “help” and “save”. Because that’s what heroes do. Shoto thinks so too:
And right now I still predict that Shoto is going to break off from UA with Bakugo and Ochaco and go after Midoriya. This would put Shoto in a position to save his brother. Hawks and BJ aren’t going to like that, and Enji will be conflicted and have to choose to be a “hero” (he was never one to begin with tbh) or a father. In the end after a lot of struggling, I believe he’ll choose being a father.
The fact of the matter is, the Todofam plot has to have an antagonist, because...well, story telling. Unless people are DELIBERATELY ignoring the underlying theme and message of BNHA: Heroes save people, then I don’t know how people can think Touya is the antagonist to the plot surrounding his family. The end goal for the Todofam is reconciliation and reunification. Rei has been brought back home, now it’s Touya’s turn. Hawks and BJ aren’t looking at Touya as the Todoroki’s eldest son, they’re looking at him as Dabi the villain. Shigaraki and Toga’s redemptions have been set up and are getting ready to be carried out. Redemption is the endgame here for the main three villains. That’s why I think they’re the antagonists.
This doesn’t mean I don’t like Hawks and BJ as characters. Although I’ll straight up say I don’t like BJ. I don’t care what happens to him tbh. Hawks on the other hand, I’d like to see him get a good ending because he was a victim too. He has potential to understand his wrongdoings, but I don’t think he’s going to until it’s too late, and he’s already “the bad guy”. But he may get a redemption and be okay in the end. But a lot of other meta bloggers I follow predict his death, which is sad, but would definitely make sense.
