⛈️ god-of-thunder
I come to Tumblr with a regretful update. As you may know, my family and our fiercest warriors have been traveling between realms in search of our stolen relics.
While attempting to recover one, my brother lost his life in battle while protecting us. He shielded me with his body. My brother died a hero.

Im REALLY loving how they made Odin a “manipulative mob boss” type, someone who rules with psychological presence, charisma rather than raw power and might.

A breath of fresh air compared to like… 99% “big fellas” in the series (2/3 of this group included) plus perfect sense Atreus would “vibe more” with him, since he’s never really been one for muscle talk.

Tyr and Thor
Tumblr media
From experience I can tell you that the eldest child is ALWAYS the first one to see through the bullshit of their parents.
So Tyr is the oldest child in this verse (nothing says otherwise).
When we hear his story, we know he is this calm, peacful, loving person and that he turned on his father to save the giants and innocent people.
Being the peacful person he is, he must have relentlessly tried to talk to his father and convince him before outright turning on him. and there must have been a breaking point for him to give up on his father completely.
I thought to myself: "What was the breaking point?" and then it hit me.
Thor.
A young Thor who had accidentally killed his own mother.
Tumblr media
Odin makes his life hell for it. Tyr begs his father to go easy on Thor.
"It was an accident. He's only a child." he would beg. The words only fell on deaf ears as Odin continued to make Thor into his killing machine.
That was the breaking point. That was the day Tyr started working towards Odin's downfall
Tyr didn't turn on Odin for giants. He turned on him for the giant that mattered to him the most.

AU where Loki doesn’t interfere with Thor’s banishment at all and it takes Thor years to prove himself worthy and when he returns to Asgard everything is just. The same. Nothing seems to have changed at all and everyone greets him like his absence was a minor obstacle that didn’t fundamentally change Thor and the worst part is Loki stepped down from the place as regent without any delay and Thor can’t help but feel there’s something underlaying the way his brother looks at him now and won’t let him touch him and Thor doesn’t know what he could have missed because he doesn’t think he would have found anything wrong with the things around him and how everyone behaves if he hadn’t spent time on Earth reflecting.
#the warriors 4 not being interested in anything Thor ‘learnt’ at all#and making it clear that Thor was punished unfairly and the AllFather’s decision had been harsh#Loki saying he’s happy for Thor and Thor sees the way the smiles are forced and he sees the way Loki avoids any touch#Thor hating the way Frigga talks about Loki’s short regency and Thor’s absence like it wasn’t two whole decades or something#like she’s so grateful to have her other son back without ever addressing why he was gone#Thor just. growing during his time on earth and being much more aware of the behaviour around him#he learns to be critical and assess why people around him may act a certain way#once he realises that it’s possible for him or anyone else to be fallible and make mistakes it’s over for Asgard for him I think#Thor returns and Loki gives him the throne and everyone expects him to obviously have the throne#and Odin is sleeping and Thor isn’t comfortable with the way everyone accepts him as king regent after the banishment#Loki who either never lashed out against Jotunheim or did and it was brushed away and no one thinks about it as anything#but Loki is still deeply affected and acts the way he always would have but Thor can feel it’s not the same#he knows something is wrong and Loki won’t say anything about it and Thor doesn’t know how to bring it up#Thor sees Loki metaphorically receding into the shadows to become a nonpresence so loud Thor hears it even after returning from decades away#Thor goes to Earth and gets his priorities in order gets a new worldview learns not to take what he has for granted#and finds out he actually despised Asgard#he’s been back a week and he can’t stand it

It feels like in CONCEPT most people are alright enough with paganism, even if they think it's strange, but I've found (frustratingly) that the second I ACTUALLY MENTION the Gods or my practice people just shut off, often into assumptions of the Gods as pop culture figures.
MY GODS ARE NOT NEW. THEY ARE NOT A JOKE OR SOMETHING CREATED FROM TIKTOK TEENAGERS OR MARVEL MOVIES OR BOOKS OR WEBCOMICS.

You ever think about the fear Loki must have felt after going to Jotunheim that first time? Before he confronted Odin? That spike of anxiety and fear that must've rolled through him as he watched his skin turn blue? You ever think about what must've been going through his mind? His mind must've been racing, heart hammering in his chest as he tried to push it away and come up with another explanation in his mind for what happened, for what he saw. Of course, none made any sense. Of course, they didn't. There was really only one true explanation and the feeling of abdolute dread he would get at that thought. That feeling of absolute dread as the thought that he was one of *them*, a monster, went through his mind. Loki would now think he understands why he's always been treated differently, why he was always the lesser son and he'd think that he was never truly loved. The absolute burning hatred towards himself that would swelter up inside of him because he was taught all his life that the Jotunns, the Frost Giants, were bloodthirsty monsters, that there was nothing redeemable about them, that they were meant for nothing more than to meet the end of a blade. "The monster parents tell their children about at night." And he was one of them. And in the end, in a mad, desperate scramble for power, for control, for *love*, he tried to do what he was taught. To make his father proud. To make up for what he was maybe. To earn that love he so desperately wanted, needed because more than anything he is lonely and he hates it. Hates how long the feeling has been with him, how much it's grown since finding out his true heritage. But in the end he was met with disapproval. And all that loneliness, and anger, and hatred, all that sadness was too much. And so, he let go. He fell into the void with the intention of never coming back. You ever think about that?

Summary: You are in love with Prince Thor. He will soon be King and is hosting a ball between Kingdoms so he can find his future bride. Unfortunately, the Kingdom of Asgard is not ready to accept the Chief of the Royal Guard as the new Queen.
Warnings: inappropriate language, use of violence and adult content in the future of fanfic. some characters belong to the Marvel universe and others were created by the author. this chapter has a slightly steamy part but nothing heavy.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter Two
"Your Highness." You say looking at Thor with a meaningful look. He knows it's important not to give away the idea that you two have an affair. Especially in front of important people. And certainly Steve was important.
"Thor tell me, how did you get a Royal Guard so efficient? She was the first to question my presence here." Steve says looking impressed, which makes you curious. Have you won the admiration of yet another prince?
"She is extremely efficient at what she does. That's exactly why she's head of the Royal Guard and my trusted person." Thor responds by trying to appear more authoritative than usual.
"And she's about to give your royal highnesses privacy. If I may." You say, bowing in front of the two and turning to leave. But from afar you see a shadow and decide to check the corridor.
"I hope you know I can have your head for eavesdropping on a royal conversation." You say to whoever might be in the hallway, but before you can draw your sword to threaten the person, they reveal themselves to you.
"I see that Asgard's training is still as good as it was when you were a simple guard." James Barnes speaks as he looks worried that you will stick your sword in him.
"What is the biggest idiot of all time doing so far from his kingdom?" Your speech seems a bit mocking and James laughs. You and Barnes used to train together when you were younger. He, who was born in Asgard, decided to explore other kingdoms.
"I came after my favorite pupil. It seems you are protecting the future King." Barnes speaks pointing his head towards the two princes who are inside the trophy room.
"You know very well that I wanted to be head of the Royal Guard. And you, I assume, are accompanying Prince Steve." You say as you analyze Barnes. He looks just as hot as the last time you saw him. You and him had an affair before he turned his back on Asgard.
"You won't be surprised to know that I am the Chief of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Kyrax. I always knew Asgard already had the perfect Chief of the Royal Guard, so it's my luck to have decided to serve in another realm." Barnes says, trying to flatter you. The truth is, the two of you used to compete to see who would become the Chief of the Royal Guard ever since you met.
"I hope it was worth it, leaving your kingdom to serve another is extremely foolish. But I'm glad Prince Steve has you around. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to prepare for the Royal Ball that's happening later." You say, petulantly. You harbored a certain resentment towards James. He betrayed the kingdom that you both valued so much because he was sure he wouldn't be better than you.
"I missed you." James murmurs as he grabs your arm. The clanking of his armor against yours makes a horrendous, skin-crawling noise. You look at him, without a reaction. As you're about to respond, you notice Thor and Prince Steve are behind you. You move your arm away from Barnes' hands, wondering how long they've been there.
"Are we interrupting something?" Thor asks, clearly annoyed, while Prince Steve strangely seems to just be observing your reactions intently. You could swear you saw him smile slyly.
"Your Highness. Y/N and I were just talking about old times. I must say, it's a pleasure to see you both together." Barnes says, composing himself and stepping back a bit from you. He seems to seek support from Prince Steve, who nods slightly as if to say 'I'll get you out of this.'
"Indeed, Barnes, it's a pleasure to stand beside Asgard in moments like these. That being said, I look forward to seeing you at the Royal Ball later, Prince Thor. And you too, Chief of the Guard. Now, Barnes and I will retire to my luxurious chambers." Prince Steve says strangely, keeping his gaze on you. As if you intrigued him. Thor, like you, seemed to have noticed and appeared bothered, but he only nodded and let Steve lead Barnes away. When you turned to leave, he grabbed you. Your body was pressed against the cold wall of the Grand Asgardian Castle while the future King was extremely close to you.
You had two options, to give in or resist. But something inside you, like a warning, reminded you that this could be one of the last times you could do this. So you pulled Thor towards you with all the strength you had and kissed him. It was almost a violent kiss because in a way you're angry with Thor. He acts as if he has no choice at all, but he doesn't allow you to move on. Thor however seemed to like it, he held you firmly by the waist as if he wanted to grab you and never let go again. The taste of Thor's mouth was almost etched in your mouth. You felt your intimate area becoming increasingly wet as Thor's firm hands passed through your armor. Damn that fucking armor. Not that the royal robes allow you to play Thor the way you'd like. You then nibble on Thor's lips as if you want to tease him at the same time as you want to leave him wanting more. You bite his bottom lip hard enough that it bleeds a little but that only turns him on more. Your kiss, besides taking your breath away, now tastes like blood but that doesn't stop you from continuing.
"Is this all jealousy?" You ask as Thor kisses your neck, almost kissing the armor, and he smiles.
"She says while almost devouring me for being about to spend a night surrounded by women. Or do you think I don't know why my lip was bitten?" You smile, thinking that it seems Prince Thor really knows you. You kiss him lightly as if apologizing.
"It's just a keepsake. Soon this won't happen anymore, and all we'll have are these memories. Treasure them, Your Highness." You say, stepping away from Thor and giving him a final goodbye peck. He seems somewhat taken aback, but you're too busy thinking about how dangerous yet extremely exciting this situation is.
The night arrives quickly as you busy yourself with organizing security and ensuring the Royal Guard is prepared for the event. That's when Loki knocks on the door, all gleeful as if he's about to burst with happiness. You're not in your event armor yet, so you're somewhat inadequately dressed for the occasion, but you open the door as Loki continues to babble your name while knocking.
"I bet you'd prefer Thor here right now, but I bring good news. The grand King Odin has asked me to inform you that you should dress in a beautiful gown. It seems that a certain someone is interested in you. So, no armor tonight. Someone will bring you some dress options since I imagine you don't have any or if you do, they're not suitable for the Ball. Good luck. I always knew you would find something better than my dear brother, but you've outdone yourself. Just wait until he finds out. Anyway, I'll get ready. See you later, and um… remember to smile." Loki speaks so fast that you almost get lost, and he doesn't give you time to react or ask who he's referring to.
Soon, two maids arrive with options of attire and various preparations to make you presentable. Every second that passed while several people who usually only attend to royalty were fussing over you, you felt that something was wrong. And suddenly, the moment arrives. It's time for the Ball.

Rewatching TDW bc I just love Asgard’s aesthetic and architecture
And other very obvious reasons
Loki is not responsible for his mother’s death
Whoever started that doesn’t have the ability to read between the lines
Tumblr media
He was simply telling the creature how to get out of the dungeons
In this essay I will-
No
I will actually be talking about Frigga’s sword fighting bc it is not talked about enough
The way this woman holds her blade and moves with such precision
All while casting a perfect illusion spell
Look at my queen go

Lastly,
Listen
I get that it’s fuck Odin all the way
But the way he’s fully laying down on the ground hugging his wife, the woman he loved for centuries, in this moment he’s not a king, and if you take a closer look while all this is happening, she’s still breathing, her eyes flutter slightly, and in her last moments of life, the last thing she does is lean into her husbands touch one last time

I think if I had any issues with GOW:Ragnarok is 5 things.
No mention that Thor killed his mother. In GOW 2018, Mimir tells the tale of Fjörgyn, Thor's mother and one of Odin's great loves. It is implied that Thor killed her. It would give depth to why Odin is abusive towards Thor, his hatred of Atreus, self-loathing(aside from failing his sons) and explain why Faye went nuclear against Thor. Also? This would give context to why Thor is the way he is.
Odin doesn't use Kratos actions of murdering his family in turning Atreus against Kratos. I'm sure Kratos tells Atreus off screen, but does he? You'd think he would've told Atreus in the last game's ending or somewhere in Ragnarok. As far as we know all he told Atreus is killing Zeus and "I've killed many who were deserving and many who were not" implied, but never said. Kratos telling Freya was an important moment for them to understand each other. I don't think Kratos told him and considering how much of an abusive manipulative gaslighting prick that Odin is, it just felt like a missed opportunity not to have Odin use that to turn Atreus against his father and also a missed opportunity to have Kratos struggle to tell Atreus from his perspective on what he did.
Atreus darker personality never returned. I had this theory that Atreus "We're gods, we can do anything we want" phase would return as his Loki personality. Atreus quest to prevent Kratos' death would lead him down a dark path and lead his Loki personality to return. He would play both sides only to let Asgard burn in Ragnarok. There would be a boss battle between Atreus and his Loki side and Atreus personality would win and remain dominant. What we got was great, but I feel like Atreus' darker personality returning was a missed opportunity.
Kratos and Thor's final fight seemed tame. When I envisioned Kratos and Thor's final battle. I imagined this bombastic battle that would realm shift throughout the Nine Realms and would be the climax of Ragnarok. What we got was great. but I strongly feel like their final fight was underwhelming and it could've been more. I get the game was trying to show Thor is more than what the lore of the Norse saga and Ragnarok as a whole is showing us, but Kratos and Thor's final fight SHOULD HAVE been more.
Killing off Thor and Odin too soon. To me it's unsatisfying that Odin and Thor are killed off so soon. Thor has this great character arc and Odin was built up as this master manipulator and schemer and they die in the second game in this trilogy. Imagine how unsatisfying it would be if Luke Skywalker killed Darth Vader in Empire Strikes Back and the Rebels killed the Emperor in the second act of the trilogy. Yeah that would've been so disappointing, wouldn't it? The story they told was great and I trust SMS. But it still feels like to me that they should have done a sort of cliffhanger ending. After Brok is killed, Kratos follows Odin, Thor and Odin kills Kratos. Kratos is sent into the realm into the tear, basically the realm where the dead gods go who cannot come back. He'd see Magni and Modi and Baulder and finally Faye and Faye sends Kratos back. Then it ends with Kratos pledging to lead Ragnarok and burn Asgard. For more in depth to this idea, watch the video down below. Point is I strongly feel like it was a mistake to kill off Odin and Thor in the second act of the Norse trilogy.
youtube
Bonus 1:Atreus not even looking into the tear with the mask was just bad. All they had to do was Atreus sees into the void, one minute later he takes the mask off, breaks it and tosses it into the void
Bonus 2. Odin's design. Thor's design is perfect, but part of me feels like he should have had armor
Tumblr media
Compared to the stories Mimir told, I imagined Odin looking something like this down below. The story for Odin is great, but imo the final fight should have been more. Like, King of the Aesir should have been more. The contrast between him and Zeus is he is the master manipulator, but Odin in Norse Mythology is the strongest of the gods and this game didn't show it. He had powerful magic to display but it didn't feel like this grand final boss of the Norse saga, like Thor it could have been more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus 3. The Ragnarok itself is disappointing. Ragnarok was so built up to, but it honestly felt like the mission to actually get Surtr on-side was longer than the mission for Ragnarok. We saw nothing of the actual battle, Fenrir wasn’t there, and we didn’t even see the Army of the Dead! We could've gotten the Elves, army of the dead, the Dwarves lead by Sindri & Durlin, Vanir and even an army of Vikings/Raiders to represent Midgard. But we didn't. Plus in myth, Ragnarok was largely a battle between the Gods and the Jotnar - and yet the latter weren’t even present. I was fully expecting after heading to Muspel that Atreus would tell Kratos about the secret giants with Angrboda; that would have been an element of surprise that Odin didn’t know about! I’d been hoping to fight Thor on the back of Jormungandr or something, and for Fenrir to be involved in fighting Odin. So yeah. The Ragnarok in the game called God Of War:Ragnarok is disappointing.

God Of War characters during a party!
Well I'm in class, bored as hell and tonight I had this idea. I haven't seen anyone writing something like this but it could be funny.
Here is almost every character mentioned, but due I'm going to mention alcohol, drugs and violence, and Trùd and Atreus are kids. I'm not going to mention them. Let's just say that they're on a "kids zone".
TW: Alcohol, drugs and violence mentions, please if you're minor do NOT read this.
Tumblr media
🎟️,, ~ Let's start!
The night had just started and everyone still sober, the music starts playing and it's time to have fun.
Mimir, since he's just a head and can't dance, it's with Sindri taking care of people stuff, like the weapons. To make the party a safe place everyone has to leave their weapons at the entrance.
Brok is the one who attends the bar, he makes cocktails and give "advice" to drunk people.
Let's be honest, he's not the best person to ask for advice, but there's anyone more besides him.
His tips are simple, if you like someone, go ahead and kiss them and try to conquer them. If someone It's annoying, then punch them in the face!
Thor is the one who recieves this last advice, he has been annoyed by Heimdall like always, so now he's drunk, he finds that idea very interesting.
Well, Heimdall is leaning against a wall, he's not really drunk, but he's a little affected by alcohol, so when he sees Thor reeling towards him, he looks at his eyes and immediately knew what was going to happen.
Thor tried to punch Heimdall, but he dodges every single blow that Thor tries to give him.
H: "I'm sorry, did you just tried to hit me? You idiot."
T: "DOn't YOu dARe to CALl mE IDioT!"
H: "Okay! You drunk monkey!"
T: "WhaT DId yøU JÛsT CæLl Me?!"
At this point a good amount of people just formed a circle around these two.
Odin was staring at them like "What did I do to have this pair of idiots as sons"
Some people like Freyr were too drunk to understand what was happening and they were just screaming: "Fight, fight, fight!"
The fight was lame, and when Tyr (The real one) arrived, he really tried to make them stop.
Tyr tried to calm down Thor, and Heimdall just walked away.
And Sif, Sif was mad as hell at Thor, she and Thor left the party soon, as Sif said: "You have done enough"
And Kratos... Well, he's there, but he's not even drinking, he's just there making sure that his friends are okay and Odin doesn't try something when they're drunk.
He weren't planning to go but Freya ask him to go with her and he thought it could be interesting and maybe he could learn something about Odin or his plans.
Freya was enjoying the party, she's not the heart of the party, but, you know who it is? Freyr.
Freyr is having the BEST time of his life, he's drinking, dancing on the floor like he was at the end of the world.
Baldur was there too, dancing with Freyr, he can't get drunk, but he's trying really hard, he's drinking everything he sees (and doing some drugs) he really WANTS to feel something.
The party starts going out of hands, someone, ahem, ahem, Odin, put something on the drinks while nobody was seeing.
Everyone starts doing things that normally they wouldn't do. Even Tyr and Freya are giving everything on the dance floor.
Heimdall wasn't drinking anymore, he knew what Odin has done but he's not going to question the all-father's behaviour.
Kratos it's fine too, he haven't drunk anything on the entire night, but he's having a great time anyways. There's no need to get drunk, you can have fun without alcohol.
Sindri, Brok and Mimir once everyone is too busy doing things that they will regret tomorrow. They meet together at the bar, Sindri is worried, he thinks that the party has gone out of hands, but Brok tell him to relax, anyone is dying.
When the party is over everyone ends sleeping where they can. Kratos takes Freya to her house but leaves the rest to his own luck.
Freyr and Baldur during the party were like best friends and they wake up next to each other lying on the ground. (Nothing weird, they fell asleep dancing)
Odin left after Kratos, but Heimdall stayed there annoying everyone.
Heimdall wakes up on the entrance of the party, he was so annoying that when he fell asleep everyone agreed on getting ride of him.
Sindri and Brok left and gone home leaving Mimir on the bar.
Everyone left Mimir :(
The next morning everyone woke up with a headche.
Baldur, Freyr and Heimdall found Mimir on the bar.
Mimir would definitely tell them about everything that happened last night, everyone feels a little embarrassed.
But at the end was funny and nobody was hurt.

(WHAT WITH THIS GIF I LOVE IT)
That was funny! I spend alomst 2 hours writing, maybe more, maybe less but I hope all liked it :)
And if someone read this and is a minor, bad! I told you this wasn't for kids! But don't worry I understand you, when I was a kid I did that too and I'm normal haha.
Jokes aside, you don't need of alcohol to have fun and this is a fanfic, it's not real and it's not a good example or parties!
Have a nice day :)

Odin: Honey, would you stop worrying? Loki is going to be just fine.
Frigga: I hope so. I may have given him some bad advice earlier.
Odin: What'd you say?
Frigga: I told him... I told him to just be himself.
Odin: You said WHAT?!

Okay, I was watching Love and Thunder clips today and I found these gems.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THIS IS CANON! We always rag on Odin for being a terrible parent, but we mostly just bring up how he pitted his children against each other and the "worthiness" thing. If we're doing a REAL deep dive, we may talk about Thor's role as Odin's personal attack dog.
But we never bring up anything from Love and Thunder because a) it wasn't a great movie, and b) Odin wasn't actually IN it. However, that means we miss out on this golden moment for ammo against Odin (and Frigga's) parenting!
Odin sent his tiny-ass BABY into a LITERAL BATTLE! And Frigga LET HIM! We don't know anything about the circumstances of their marriage, so it's possible her hands were tied, but STILL! Probably not even a century after the whole Hela fiasco, Odin is sending his next child out to learn how to kill people!
Thor has been fighting in battles since literal infancy. All he knows is death, destruction, violence, and burning, plus whatever the fuck was going on at home. He has no frame of reference for "normal"! (That also explains why he was so nonchalant about Loki trying to kill him all the time)
I'm not going to go on about all the issues that would have caused, because I don't know them. I just thought it was crazy that no one's talked about this while discussing Thor's abuse!
