Oltyx and Lysikor's relationship is so funny to me. So much of Oltyx's actions throughout TDK (especially in Reign after he firmly put regicide on the table as an option) are fueled by paranoia and fear of betrayal...and then you have Lysikor who is basically wearing an "I am going to betray you!" T-shit. And Oltyx is totally chill about him. He killed every other noble on his tombworld for shits and giggles. He offers to assassinate Oltyx as a favor when they first discover the human armada. And Oltyx just thinks "eh, he may or may not be joking, it's probably fine" (and of course Yenekh makes his objections to this plan known so that helps). Lysikor steals enough shit to make Trazyn proud, and again Oltyx kind of shrugs and demands his stuff back. He listens to Lysikor's counsel so much that Yenekh actually gets jealous!! Lysikor even becomes his main confidante for a while (because of reasons). Oltyx is more relaxed around Lysikor than anyone else in the story. What's going on there??
I mean the obvious answer is that Lysikor isn't cursed (one of the only people in the dynasty who isn't) so there's no dread mirror on Oltyx when he's around him. Lysikor has his own form of honor, and he genuinely seems to like Oltyx (whether this reflects well on our boy is debatable but still). There might be an aspect of comfort to Lysikor's honesty as well. There is so much uncertainty in Oltyx's life and he is filled with so much self-loathing, he might even want Lysikor's betrayal to come. Maybe that's why he keeps him so close. An easy out to all the shit he is dealing with, internally and externally, and coming from a source he understands.
To top it all off, Lysikor is legitimately sorry when he can't follow through on his betrayal. Like he has wronged Oltyx in not stabbing him in the back sufficiently. It is sweet in its own way. Like Lysikor respected Oltyx so much, he thought he deserved something truly epic. Better than just being killed in his sleep. Lysikor apparently had a plan, he just never got the chance to execute it. I love this window into another form of necron "madness." The twisted ways some of them view the world, but still find comradery.
Lysikor is still out there, of course. And obviously I don't want his master stroke to come (protect Oltyx and the flayers at all costs!) but if it ever did, it would be the most wholesome betrayal in the history of 40K. And I still think Oltyx would be weirdly understanding about the whole thing.

I am inconsolable and in tears as I think about this again, but it's fine. I'm fine. It's fine, I promise. I'm lying.
Spoilers for The Twice-Dead King: Ruin below. This is an appreciation post about Djoseras and I'm hurting.
Djoseras is only a supporting character in the TDK novels, but I really want to argue that he is perhaps the MOST IMPORTANT character outside of our boy, Oltyx, who is, of course, the protagonist. Now, he's not present for the most part, usually a referred to character and his actual "on screen" time is very limited. However, there are just scenes that shape Djoseras' character so immensely, giving him a level of character depth usually not reserved or expected for side characters, and though it's mostly through Oltyx's perception of him (so, skewed or otherwise), his brother is just. So important.
So, shout out to Djoseras who taught Oltyx the hard lessons even if he himself found discomfort in what he was teaching him.
Shout out to Djoseras who protected Oltyx by skewing a significant event that ultimately led to his brother being exiled instead of executed.
Shout out to Djoseras who went back to comfort Oltyx who was so scared of going through the furnaces of biotransference.
Shout out to Djoseras who who inscribed upon his immortals all their names and deeds upon their necrodermis to show who they were/are.
Shout out to Djoseras who feigned ignorance just so he could talk to his brother before his departing to the capital to trying making Unnas see reason about the incoming Imperial Crusade that would see all of Ithakas destroyed.
Shout out to Djoseras who stayed behind to give Oltyx the time he needed to flee and take what survivors he could with him before Antikef fell.
Shout out to Djoseras who, despite everything, will always love his brother and wishes nothing more than for him to thrive.
Please, remember him.

Fucked up by how no life in The Twice-Dead King is insignificant. No one is only an obstacle, only useless, or evil for the pure sake of evil; it's a statistics gamble just to get the simplest soldier replaced, and defeating an antagonist doesn't necessarily improve the situation, since the void they leave continues to haunt the remainder of the text.
Neth isn't just broken and useless, Denet didn't forget the monoliths for nothing. Oltyx would never have returned to his authentic life without Hemiun, the duel with Duamehht was fated and deserved, in terms of Oltyx's pain as much as hers. Lysikor's probably the individual closest to a true villain, in that he's self-concerned, murderous, treacherous, and ultimately aims to harm Oltyx; yet it's all softened by the fact that he appears to have a metafictional awareness of his archetype, rendering his actions more of a stage role than an existential threat. The only true evil in TDK's narrative is ideology (fascism) - and the few times individuals break off from it to clash with the main characters, those encounters have serious consequences for Oltyx and his court. No life, acknowledged as a life, has no effect on the fabric of this duology.
And that's ironic as all hell, given that necrons willingly live in a Hobbesian nightmare of a world where life is nasty and brutish, if not particularly short. Even before biotransference, their militaristic ventures and a strict hierarchy ensured that lives were poor and expendable, and not much has changed on that front. Any level of compassion for a living being is unusual for a necron noble to have, let alone prove true - in fact, most of the tragedy in TDK occurs because the world around Oltyx did its best to beat his compassion out of him, when he was blessed enough to have it from the very beginning. Ever more the twist of the knife, then, that Oltyx and his court ultimately accept the celebration of life-as-they-are (the Flayers) and life-as-it-used-to-be (their lived experiences and desires as necrontyr) through partaking in the lives-that-they-took (flesh from various sources). It needs to be flesh, presumably, because flesh is material proof of something that was organic and living and deserving of that life. If they didn't care about the life part they would just be Destroyers. Sorry I'm just rambling now. This novel has taken over my brain

Kicks door down: HELLO
I accidentally sent this request when they were closed so sorry abt that. BUT.
Can you do the water healing one where y/n almost (or does. I’m down for angst) dies because they pushed themselves too much? Bonus points if they literally had no other option
Hi friend! This took me a second to get done because WOAH it was angsty!
CW: Reader death bc i love angst (blame supernova not me), marineford spoilers :) Characters: Zoro, Luffy, Sanji, Law, Ace Word Count: 2.8k
Part 1
Zoro
Zoro trusted you. He did. But Luffy shouldn’t be as energetic as he is right now, even with your healing. Luffy had gone down three times. And Zoro knew you had healed him twice before you had hit your limit. Zoro had seen you vomiting from the pain before he had to go fight his own battle. He had left you curled up in a ball crying in pain, but alive.
It didn’t make sense how Luffy was so…bouncy. He should be sleeping off the pain and exhaustion from battle, but he wasn’t. So Zoro set off to find you, afraid of what he might find.
There was an urgency to his movement, his pace faster than normal as he made his way to the last place he saw you. But you weren’t there. Instead, he found a trail of blood, leading off into a side hallway.
It was your blood. Zoro wasn’t sure how he knew, but he did. Zoro clenched his jaw, preparing for the worst as he rounded the corner. But it was just another blood trail.
He was running as he followed it, weaving around corners and down hallways. He finally came to a door, and the trail ended right in front of it. The doorknob had a dark red liquid on it, but Zoro hardly paid it any mind as he pulled the door open. He found you on the other side, sprawled out on the floor. He dove down to you, looking for any open wound that would need to have pressure applied.
“Please,” he begged. “Wake up.”
He could tell by the amount of blood around you that it was too late to save you. He kneeled next to you and lifted your limp body, trying to get you to sit up. He checked for a pulse or any signs of breathing, but as he expected, there weren’t any. And so he held you, brushing away the hair that was matted on your face and whispered endless apologies. He should’ve found you sooner. You were only dead now because of his mistakes earlier.
He held you against his chest and pressed his forehead against yours. Zoro knew he should be crying, but he hasn’t cried in years. He just sat there, softly begging you to wake up, waiting for you to show any signs of life.
When the rest of the crew finds him, he’s as still as a statue. Nami’s wails and Chopper’s movements around your body don’t even faze him. He doesn’t even really hear them. It’s like he’s underwater, just waiting to wake up from this nightmare. Because he can’t survive the cold reality of living alone without you.
Luffy
“Don’t heal me, you won’t…”
Those had been Luffy’s last words to you before he had fallen into unconsciousness from his injuries. He had a vague memory of you giving him a soft kiss and whispering something about the king of the pirates, but Luffy wasn’t sure if that was a dream or not.
Now, as he looked at your broken body, he only felt one emotion.
Rage.
At himself. At you. At the universe, for being so cruel. And at the man in front of him, who took you away.
Everyone thought that your death would immobilize Luffy, in the same way that Ace’s had. But it didn’t. He screamed in rage, and even his own crewmates struggled to stay conscious from the overwhelming power Luffy unleashed.
Luffy had struggled against his foe, but now the fight was over in a moment. It was like a beast came out of him, snarling and destroying everything in its path. The enemy hadn’t even known what had hit him before he was dead. Luffy had a no kill policy, but an eye for an eye seemed more than fair right now.
Only after the enemy was destroyed, did Luffy mourn. He ran to your side, asking Chopper to heal you. He begged the reindeer, pulling out each piece of equipment demanding “Have you tried this?!”
Half of the stuff wouldn’t have helped even if you were alive, but he still begged Chopper to try. And Chopper indulged him, even though the little reindeer was sobbing himself.
When everything was out of the bag, Luffy finally gave in to despair. It was this moment where he went into complete shock, inconsolable at the thought of you truly being gone. He beat on the ground next to you, screaming and sobbing.
“Please! Please come back!” He screamed over and over again, until his voice was gone. Even when his voice was gone, he just sat there and sobbed next to you. The crew sat with him quietly, waiting for him to finish his grieving. They sat with him all day and late into the night, each of them crying in their own way with him.
Sanji
Sanji had only seen this much blood one other time before. On Thriller Bark, when Zoro had taken all of Luffy’s pain. That’s what you had done too: taken all of Luffy’s pain. And Zoro’s pain. And his own. You had taken on all three of their injuries so they could keep fighting.
“Go,” you whispered, laying on the floor. You tried to keep the sobs out of your voice, but Sanji heard them and stayed where he was.
He held your head in his lap, gently stroking your hair. “Does this hurt, my love?”
“Sanji. You need to go fight.” You didn’t want him to see you like this. You knew it was the end.
“I’m not leaving. You’re hurt. You need me.”
“I need you to go do your damn job,” you said. Tears were flowing out of your eyes onto his pants. “I need you to beat these guys and go find the All Blue. And make sure Luffy becomes King of the Pirates. And Zoro-” you struggled to breathe. “Zoro needs to be the greatest swordsman. Promise me?”
“Shhhh. Don’t talk,” he whispered. His voice was so soothing. You could feel your eyes getting heavier with each word. “Save your strength.”
“Sanji,” you pleaded. “Please.”
“I promise.” His voice was thick with tears. “Just stay with me. I’m here.”
You felt wet drops hit your head, but you were too tired to turn and see if he was crying. You couldn’t even offer false hope. Words were too hard to form. Perhaps just a short rest would be good for you.
Sanji was too scared to check your pulse, but he knew when you were gone. You just felt different in his arms. He couldn’t explain why.
He sobbed. But he didn’t beg. He knew it was useless. A part of him had been scared of this happening since the very beginning. His father always told him he was cursed. Everything he loved always died. He was foolish to think you’d be the exception. And now he was alone again. It was almost enough to convince him to throw himself into the ocean and join you in the afterlife.
But no, he made a promise. Your dying wish. So he had to do this for you and for his friends. He would protect Luffy, he would find the All Blue, and he’d even help that stupid marimo. Not because he wanted to do it. But because his promise to you was the only thing worth living for now.
Law
When Law came back from the brink of death, he knew it was bad. When he came to his senses, he was laying on the ground, and you were crumpled on top of him. You had saved him again, given his energy back to keep fighting. And now you were in pain because of it.
He could still feel his energy returning to him, slowly now. He cursed, realizing you were still struggling to help him.
“Stop!” he hissed. He shambled you away from him, and you landed in the alleyway across the street with a sickening smack against the ground.
“I told you not to help me!” he screamed at you. “I can fight my own battles!”
A roar came from down the street, and he remembered the reason he was so beat up in the first place. The enemy was closing in again, but with this newfound energy he would finish them off. And then he would deal with you.
The battle was over quickly. It had been close before, but now he had the clear advantage, invigorated with energy from you and with the rage of almost losing.
He walked back to the alley to find you, anger coursing through his veins at what you had done. You had made a promise, and you had always stuck to it. But he still hated it.
“I told you not to help me during battle!” he yelled as he approached you. “I told you not to endanger yourself!”
You didn’t respond. You didn’t even move, and that’s when Law realized you were still in the same position you had been when he sent you away. Your chest wasn’t even rising and falling.
Panic spiked his heart rate, and he quickly shambled over to you. He ran a scan over your body. No Life Detected.
No. No, this couldn’t be happening. His knees grew weak, and he collapsed next to you.
“Y/n-ya. Wake up.”
But you were still frozen in place, only a trail of blood running from the corner of your mouth.
“Please,” he begged, tears filling his eyes. “Please don’t do this. You promised.”
Your limp body offered no response, and he switched from begging to action. He began CPR, rushing through the events that led to this. You had been alive when he woke up, and the fight had only taken a few minutes. Your body wasn’t rigid, so there was still a possibility he could breathe life back into your lungs.
But he was the Doctor of Death, and no miracles were performed that day. Instead, his crew found him an hour later, still giving you chest compressions. They watched for thirty minutes, before Shachi finally stepped in.
“Captain,” Shachi said standing next to him. “I don’t think-”
“Shut up!” Law barked. He didn’t stop his rhythm. If he could just get your heart to beat on its own for a moment, it would all be okay.
“You can’t leave me,” Law choked out in a sob. “You promised.”
His crew let him continue to try to revive you, even though they all knew it was a fruitless endeavor. Finally, after three hours, he collapsed.
His crew rarely saw him shed a tear, but today he sobbed into your chest with more emotion than he had ever shown. And he was never really the same afterwards, either.
Ace
“I can fix him!” you screamed, running out towards the brothers.
“Like hell,” Marco yelled, grabbing your wrist to hold you back. “It’s too bad. You know that. You can’t save him.”
“I can,” you sobbed. “I have to. I have to!”
You pulled yourself out of Marco’s grip, and dashed towards Luffy.
“Ace…” Luffy breathed out. “You can’t die.”
“He won’t,” you assured him, sitting down next to him. Ace’s wound looked even worse from here, and you could feel bile rising in your mouth. You had to resist the urge to vomit. You had work to do.
“Luffy, stay with me, okay? I need you to be ready to take him to safety.”
You were prepared to die for him. You had been for a while. There was no better way to go than saving the man you loved.
“Dont-” Ace sputtered, coughing up blood.
You pressed your lips to his cheek. “I love you, Ace. Keep living for me, okay?”
Those were fitting last words, and so you pulled out some water from your flask and placed your hands over the hole in his chest. It didn’t matter that everyone was watching you while you did this. You were the last of your kind. Your power would die with you.
The pain came instantly, just as it had for Ace. You could feel your insides shredding apart as you used your power to repair him. His heart, his vital organs, that’s what you chose to focus on. The things he couldn’t live without had to be repaired by you. Marco could do the rest when they were safe.
You could feel Ace fighting you, desperate to get away from your grip, but you held on tight, even as your vision became dark and blurry, even as you felt consciousness beginning to slip away, you would continue healing him until the end.
--
What was only a few seconds felt like eternity, and Ace felt his body slowly begin to heal. He could breathe again.
“Luffy,” he mumbled. “Get her off of me.”
“Ace. Your wound.” Luffy pulled back to look at Ace. “It’s closing up.”
“She’s dying,” Ace sobbed, trying to push your limp body off of him.
“I’ll be damned,” Akainu said, staring down at your work. “I thought that power was just a myth.”
“Luffy, take her away. Now!” Ace yelled, pushing you towards his little brother.
“A shame her sacrifice will amount to nothing, though,” Akainu said from behind. Ace felt volcanic heat stir up behind him again. Another strike from Akainu was coming, but Ace was paralyzed with grief.
Jinbe jumped in front of Ace and held off the attack. “Ace, my friend. You have been given another chance. You mustn't lose it now!”
Luffy helped Ace to his feet, still staring at his chest where a hole had once been. It wasn’t completely healed, but Ace was moving. That’s all that mattered.
“We can’t leave her,” Ace said, tears flooding out of her eyes. “Luffy, we can’t-”
Ace’s body racked with a fit of coughs, and Luffy stopped. “Ace! Are you okay?! Does it hurt?!”
“We need to go get her,” Ace said, starting to turn back. But Luffy kept propelling him forward.
His crewmates were cheering them on, not realizing what your healing had cost you. “If we get you to the ship, we win! Ace! Come on!”
But Ace kept fighting Luffy, trying to go back for you. He couldn’t leave you like this. You had sacrificed everything and now you were lying there in the dirt under Akainu. It wasn’t fair. This was his fault.
“I’ll get her,” Marco yelled. “Keep going, Ace. You need to go! Pops put everything on the line for you! Don’t waste it now!”
When they finally made it back to the ship, Ace’s eyes scoured the horizon, waiting for Marco to return with you. People were celebrating their victory, but Ace felt like he was going to throw up.
Finally he saw Marco, carrying your too limp body. As Marco landed on the deck, Ace could see tears in his eyes.
“No,” Ace whimpered. “No. No! NO! Marco, fix her!”
Everyone stopped to watch the scene unfold. Even Luffy was at a loss for words.
Marco laid your body down on the deck and wiped the tears from his eyes. “I can’t fix her, Ace. She’s gone.”
“No she’s not! You just didn’t try hard enough!” Ace bent down next to you, grabbing your body and shaking it. “Wake up, Y/N! Wake up! You told me you wouldn’t do this.”
Everyone watched as Ace collapsed against you, violently sobbing into your chest. He slammed his hands against the deck, cursing the world and cursing himself, screaming loud enough for everyone to hear.
Marco waited a few minutes before intervening. “Ace,” he said, trying to keep his voice calm. “You need to stop.”
“I love you,” Ace sobbed into your chest, beating against the deck. His hands were starting to get bloody from the repetitive punching. “Please stay with me.”
“Ace,” Marco tried again. “If you keep acting like this, your wound will reopen.”
“Let me die, then,” Ace cried.
“Like hell!” Marco yelled, infuriated with his fellow commander. “You will NOT make her sacrifice and everyone else's sacrifice be in vain! I won’t let you!”
“You don’t get it, Marco!” Ace yelled. He tried to stand, and staggered a bit in the process. “She was the only thing worth living for.”
“And now you have to live with the fact that your disobedience killed her,” Marco’s words were harsh, but true. “But you still have to live! Or else you’d be spitting in her face!”
Ace screamed out in rage and charged towards Marco. However, Ace’s injury made him much slower than usual, and Marco ducked beneath the attack and jumped behind him.
Ace felt a small pinch in the back of his neck, and the world started to go dark. “I won’t let you kill yourself. She would never forgive me,” Marco whispered, catching Ace as he lost his footing.
As Ace plunged into darkness, all he wanted was to see you one more time. To apologize for all the trouble he caused.

Before next week’s Fionna and Cake episode, we can really only guess as to why exactly the Lich explicitly didn’t kill Simon and company, but I wanted to compile all the ideas I’ve already seen!
Spoilers, obviously!
Tumblr media
•The most common idea I’ve seen is that, due to the Lich’s connection to Golb, Golbetty is actively intervening to protect Simon. As if telling the Lich ‘No, bad disciple, don’t turn my failwife into ash’.
But that doesn’t quite track.
Golbetty hasn’t really made any visible moves to protect Simon (save for possibly preventing him from putting on the crown) at all up to this point, and even if the Lich not killing him was Betty’s doing, she’s still just leaving Simin alive but otherwise stranded in a dead world in which he will die of starvation.
Additionally, any protection from Golbetty would absolutely not have extended to Fionna and Cake!
Tumblr media
•I’ve also seen a lot of people assume the Lich let them live and was playing possum like he did in the Time Room in order to gain access to multiversal travel: sure his own world is out of life, but there’s always more to snuff out in other universes!
But I don’t think there’s any plan here. The Lich makes it very clear that he isn’t initially aware that this is a Simon from another universe, he just thinks his world’s Ice King has come back from the dead.
Even then! Assuming he very quickly did the math and came to the conclusion that there could only be living beings in this world if they came from elsewhere and that waiting would let him hitch a ride out of this world with them and into a new one, he simply does not do that. The portal in the back of Simon’s head is wide open and the Lich does not spring into action and seize the opportunity.
Tumblr media
•Similarly flawed is the idea that the Lich cannot harm them due to being in a similar ‘purposeless’ state as when he was stuck in the Time Room.
This one has the least going for it. Jerry is very much able to kill, and Simon Fionna and Cake are all very much able to die.
Tumblr media
•This leads into the final possibility that would be really interesting if it were the case. The idea that the Lich just… decided not to do the one thing he’s been known to do, which is murder really good.
Sure, he seems to sputter and fade, but that’s only after seemingly very deliberately releasing the gang from his hold. But why?
Aside from being Golb’s last scholar, the Lich identifies himself twice as the ‘ceaseless wheel’. The imagery that puts to mind is both that of a grinding wheel, constantly grinding away at the life of the world, but also the imagery of moving forward. Progressing. ‘Ceaselessly’ moving towards his goal no matter what.
The Lich himself even goes as far as to say that something has changed. ‘In days of old’ he would have killed them… but then he can’t even finish one of his iconic monologues, even to explain what’s changed. It’s the biggest ‘Eh, why even bother?’ the Lich could give.
He’s eradicated the thing he’s defined himself as. The wheel has ground to a halt, it can’t get itself turning again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In other words. Simon got it in one: the Lich is (very uniquely) depressed.

how does mike (fnaf) show affection / love in your opinion??
small showtimes
small things mike does ..
cw: fnaf movie spoilers!!! underlying narcissism (i just now he has something wrong with him i mean like— [insert movie spoilers]
Tumblr media
michael "mike" schmidt.
first of all, he was previously relentlessly haunted by the past of garrett's abduction, it broke mike, knowing that he was right there and could have done something if he had just gotten up a moment before, or maybe if he didn't pick up the frisbee would he then be able to get to him in time. still, even after dealing with freddy's, that doesn't mean that the guilt is gone fully, just slightly. helping the dead children no longer be confused about their deaths gave him his own sense of peace seeing william 'die'.
but, i'll stop beating around the bush, with what i just mentioned there, it feeds into mike cherishing the littlest things. seeing death has changed his perspective on the world, making him more open minded then most people, yet more possesive at the same time. he's going to show that he cares using his voice and body, scarce touches throughout the day, or small mentions that he loves you along with a quick peck. but then it's going to take a long time for him to warm up to you, while you two might already have a relationship started, he wouldn't see much of it other than a special label on the friendship you both have. probably the only way he'd actually have a significant other is before freddy's, he's going to be kind of iffy in the start of your relationship, but still trying when he could, but then once the animatronics start to go after him is when you two actually have a breakthrough and start to have an actual heartfelt relationship. he'll start to open up by telling you his troubles, but when he tells you most of them but don't piece it together for you to understand is when he then admits about his dream idea and garrett. hearing and noticing you actually listening and wanting to help him through it actually makes him realize that his own feelings for you aren't just a subconscious way of him using you for affection, and that you aren't doing the same either.
once you two actually have a breakthrough and have an actual relationship that wasn't just believed momentary feelings, it definitely feels way more natural, but awkward in a way. mike doesn't want to weird out his sister at all so probably all affection will probably be done in the comfort of his large yet empty bedroom or somewhere private when it's just the both of you. he's definitely going to do faint touches throughout the day, he isn't the right person for public displays of affection and he'd probably make that known a little while after you two started to date. but that doesn't mean that he'll sneak in a kiss once or twice like when he's making food or about to leave for work. while in the privacy of his bedroom, he'll try not to cling too much but ends up doing so either way, his room is his safe space, a place where he doesn't have to worry about responsibilities or anything. he becomes kind of childish as well, kind of viewing himself as the king in his room, the bigger and better person, he's not going to be as reserved and closed off as he is anywhere else. but that also means that his room is also your safe space, you could do or say anything you wanted to, it's not going to leave the room nor is he going to judge, as long as you don't judge him.
i totally didn't do this at like midnight although i desperately needed sleep :3

Another thing I hated from those last two seasons were the villains, especially cozy glow
Bgdsafhbb
I really should stop talking about mlp. It's embarrassing 😅 I'm kind of embarrassed. I apologize to all my followers. But...
But again, 100% right.
Funny thing is, I can see a world where Chancellor Neighsay's character is written better. The problem with his character is that the terrible writers wrote him as the most stereotypical, strawman-y racist villain that I've ever seen in any piece of children's media, ever.
If they wrote him more realistically, and actually gave the audience an explanation for why he feels that way about the other creatures...
For example, they could've showed that the reason he hated the other creatures is because of their past history with ponies:
The hippogriffs/seaponies refused to help when the Storm King attacked
The Yaks were very picky when they came to visit for the first time
The dragons were usually very hostile towards ponies, to the point where ponies were afraid to approach them
The Changelings attacked Equestria twice
The griffins had a better relationship with ponies, but the majority of them were still very rude
Of course, the explanation for all of their behavior is the result of their environment, leadership, and upbringing. But it would still be an understandable reason.
And if they had him realistically realize the error of his ways, combined with writing him in a realistic way and giving an explanation for his mentality, then BOOM! Character fixed, problem solved :)
Now, as for Cozy Glow...
Idk what the writers were thinking when they came up with her character, but in terms of writing/character motivations she is 10,000 times worse than Neighsay. At least with him I understand what the writers were going for, and he can be more easily fixed.
But Cozy Glow…
She is a child. The same age as the CMC. Who is... inexplicable an evil sociopath who hates the other creatures, wants to get rid of magic, and... rule the world...
Absolutely no explanation given for how this child turned evil, racist, a sociopath, a master manipulator, and a megalomaniac. No backstory, no explanation. At all.
At least with Neighsay, you can logical see how he got there. But I have no idea what they were going for with Cozy Glow.
The only thing I can figure out is this: Cozy Glow exists to prove one point that Neighsay made. He was afraid that the other creature students would use their friendship lessons and the school to secretly take over Equestria. He believed that they were sociopaths who were incapable of being changed, so instead of being improved by the school they would only learn how to better manipulate ponies. That's what sociopaths do in real life.
But instead of it being the other creatures who did it, it was a pony. The point of Cozy Glow's character is to prove that ponies are capable of being the megalomaniac sociopaths that Neighsay thought the other creatures were. So in a way, I can see where the base concept for her character came from.
The thing that makes it terrible is that there is absolutely no backstory or explanation given for why this child is evil, or how she got there. The writers just expected the audience to accept this incredibly bizarre, horribly written character.
Tumblr media
Lol, shrug
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grogar would've been a really cool villain, if he wasn't actually SPOILERS Discord in disguise the whole time.
The real Grogar does exist in their world. He could be dead, he could be alive. We don't know. But the writers lied to people, telling them that Grogar would be the final villain, hyping him up... only for it to be taken away with a terrible plot twist. That they (apparently) planned from the beginning:
Tumblr media
But when Discord was impersonating Grogar, he was still a better villain than Cozy Glow and Neighsay. The plot twist was the real problem, not Grogar himself.
I actually feel kinda bad for Grogar's character. They did him dirty. They did my sheep dirty :(
Anyway, my final thoughts on the season 8/9 villains:
Chancellor Neighsay: Terribly written, but can be easily fixed.
Cozy Glow: They were high on BATH SALTS or something and were watching Cats Don't Dance (or the episode of Batman the animated series with Babydoll) when they came up with her character, and didn't give a shit about anything else.
Grogar: I feel bad for my poor sheep :( You deserve better, you could've been great 🐏

Kingohger G Rosso Show #3 Summary (1/2/24 & 1/3/24)
i went to see the g rosso show with @valentinezlove! recap/summary on the whole show + my thoughts below~ ❤️🤍 (warning: spoilers, really long)
SPOILERS AHEAD for basically the whole plot of the g rosso show (though i left some stuff out) i believe this show is going to be livestreamed at some point so pls be aware if you're going to watch that and don't wanna be spoiled!
also, despite seeing this show TWICE i am so bad at remembering things and get distracted way too easily. i left out details and scenes im not confident in my memory abt😭 also this recap is a personal account so its probably jeramie heavy and there Will be giramie ramblings from my annoying ass
THE SHOW
the show starts with kamejim scheming evilly, as kamejim does. he calls forth grodie (!) to do his thing, and he appears as a recording on the big screen. grodie begrudgingly brings some dead sanagims back to life and he's like “ok go crazy/好きにして” and then kamejim orders them to go forth and destroy humanity/the whole planet. the sanagim are about to attack the audience on the front row when suddenly we hear giras WAHAHAHA and the five kings, gira, himeno, yanma, rita and kaguragi descend onto the stage!!
cue really epic fight
at this point i was like ah i see i guess jeramies coming in the middle of the show… but then NUH UH. SUDDENLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES A SPIDER DROPS DOWN FROM THE CEILING ON HIS WEB IN THE AUDIENCE!!
the first time we saw the show on the yan/hime/gira day, our seats were a bit further back so when jeramie came down it was in a perfectly clear view in front of us!!! i SRSLY GOT JUMPSCARED I THOUGHT I HAD A HEART ATTACKK on the 3rd we were sitting really close to the front so i kept looking behind us in anticipation when i knew jeramie was going to make his appearance eheehe..
also when jeramie appeared he said “otto! dont forget about me!” and gira was the first to go “jeramie! you came!” 🥺
anyway they finish beating up the zombie sanagims and kamejims all like fufufufu i am cooking up an evil evil plan to destroy this planet Best Beware u silly kings and then disappears
after the fight the kings convene and discuss what they should do abt kamejim and the new super villain threat that is the galactinsect king and the jesters. but how could they ever beat them? what power is possibly strong enough?? wherever will we find a source of such power?
suddenly kaguragi goes aha! and he begins to recount to everyone an old myth he’s heard about a village back in toufu
apparently theres a 2000 yr old legend that a comet once fell near a village and it left behind an object the village ppl called the "star drop" (星の雫), which looks like a magical orb
the village ppl have kept the star drop for generations and legend has it that the orb has mysterious powers to grant anyone a wish, perhaps we can use it to defeat kamejim
upon hearing the wish part the kings all go WHAT!! and lean in with interest except gira who doesnt react and just kinda stands there (he doesnt seem that interested …?)
the spotlight goes onto yanma and we hear him monologuing abt how he wants to use the wish to make his super computer (i think its hilarious he never gives up on this)
the spotlights goes on himeno and she says she wants a cure all that can cure any wound (🥺)
the spotlights on rita and they wish for a super deluxe limited edition something something moffun
the spotlights on jeramie and he says, in a very dramatic voice, この2000年生きる語り部が知らない伝説なんて、気に入らない、気に入らないぞ!💀 (a myth that I, this 2000 yr old storyteller has never heard of? i don't like that!)
we dont get to see what gira thinks regarding his wish 0_0 and technically jeramie too bc THAT WASNT A WISH KHGDDDH and also kaguragi because obviously we can never look into his mind hes sussy! (more on dat later tho….)
unbeknownst to the kings, kamejim was hiding and listening in to their conversation the whole time. an orb that can grant any wish…? interesting…
cut to the team arriving at the secluded, very hidden away village. its full of old looking tombs and temples overgrown with vines and such
suddenly from the audience a bunch of people come in parading one of those long dragon puppets and doing a festival-like chant. apparently this dragon is a symbol of the village spirit/guardian born from the comet myth. i think???? i cant remember this part really well because Both times i saw the show i was ALWAYS distracted by gira playing with the dragon really cutely in the background (he’d ruffle its hair or pat its head and the actor would hit gira on his head not to touch it and he would bow in apology😭 🙏)
also upon arriving the village jeramie says "in all my 2000 yrs of living, even i never knew about this place" (i love how they bring up his thousands of years wandering as a cryptid and how much he loves chikyuu and knows it so well,,)
they meet the village elder, whom kaguragi greets but instead of welcoming his king the elder yells at all of them to go home, you shouldnt be here and theres no such thing as the star drop here!! leave us be!! the myth that theres a power that grants wishes here is just that, a myth!
and the teams like zamnnn so we went all the way out here for nothing…? yanmas like kaguragi im gonna beat the shit out of u and in the end everyones like Welp i guess we should go home and everyone except jera start to exit the stage. gira is like wait guys are u sure!?! and watches them go off one by one. in the end jeramies like come on now and either drags gira away or on the show i saw on jan 2nd he casually gently pushes gira on the chest (?) WOULD BE BETTER IF I DREW IT TO EXPLAIN BUT IT WAS CUTE😭)
and then jeramie leaves the stage too but then a few seconds later he walks backward and reappears from the curtain and goes な~んてね (just kidding/as if)
he says “honestly, those kings really cant read between the lines huh? this village is obviously hiding something they dont want us to know”
and so jeramie alone walks in the other direction and leaves to the right of the stage
~the middle of the night~
the village elder is sneaking about, two other village men join him, theyre all whispering very discreetly
the elder is like “are they gone yet?”
“sir yessir theyve gone.”
elder says smth like “good! we cant let any of them get their hands on the village treasure that weve guarded for generations''
the elder decides to go to the tomb to ensure the star drop is safe
cut to jeramie sneaking around trying to find where theyre keeping this dang orb. while he’s looking for it he suddenly hears footsteps, turns out its yanma and himeno who ALSO came back to sneakily look for the orb themselves , jeramies like oh crap seems like theyve caught on as well, he goes to hide behind a platform and this part is absolutely ridiculous like whats wronggg w him tbh
Tumblr media
like at first when jeramie goes to hide he lies on his side and had his whole one leg up before belatedly putting it down. yanma and himeno are fighting above him and each time they get closer jeramie would flinch dramatically and at some point hes just striking different poses 😭😭😭 also the one i saw on january 3rd when yanma and himeno get way too close to jeramie, yanmas actor accidentally hits jeramie with his sword probably bc he didnt know what improvised pose he’d be in lol…
we cut back to the elder at the tomb, he says some spell in an unknown language and the tomb opens up and reveals the orb (sitting on a pedestal) he goes to take it but doesnt realize that rita was standing there the whole time
the elders like “what are u doing here!!” rita says something abt how they can tell when ppl are guilty of hiding something/lying 👁👁
then suddenly gira waltzes in and is all like “wooow the stars are so pretty…. wait rita? and elder? hi!! man the stars are just so pretty out here i that i got lost wandering around, can u show me the way back? wait a minute whats that youre holding? :0” (note: GIRA WHO LOVES STARGAZING REALLLL)
elders like NONE OF U CAN HAVE IT!! BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN IF THIS FALLS INTO THE WRONG HANDS!
ritas like anyway whatever give me that orb, and lunges at the elder to grab it
at this point himeno and yanma arrive to the scene and himenos like that orb is MINE!! and they all fight over it
rita ends up getting it and IMMEDIATELY they wish for “moffuns warmth” and then moffun actually appears fr on stage 😭😭 while rita is busy going crazy over moffun and hugging it the elder chants another incantation which appears to have reversed the wish and moffun goes away.  yanma gets a hold of the orb next but right at that moment jeramie swings by on a cord and snatches it from him!!
jeramie lands on the ground, orb in hand all pleased with himself but then.. someone sneaks up from the shadows behind him and its kaguragi!!! and he has his sword to jeramies neck while hes backed against a wall and jeramie goes otto~ (it was sexy as hell tbh)
so kaguragi has the orb now and hes like “so it seems the myth is true. thank you everyone for confirming this for me”
everyones like kaguragi... could it be…? u were just using us to get the star drop yourself this whole time!!!??
and kaguragis like maa maa dont worry abt it (FORGETTING A LOT OF DETAILS HERE but something abt how if a village in his country has been keeping an object so powerful it only makes sense it should be in his hands or something , maybe?)
but anyway no one wins this round because THEN suddenly kamejim appears and takes the hot potato orb from kaguragi
and hes like ufufufu and then uses the star drop to make his super evil plan to destroy the planet come true, and when he says his wish suddenly the orb starts going crazy with an immense dark force , its glowing purple and its all crackly like a thunderstorm is inside it, the ground shakes and everything around them starts falling apart
the elders like nooooo and tries to take the orb back but kamejim flings him away and the elder is knocked unconscious
in the end, gira manages to get a hold of the star drop but he struggles to keep it still in his hands bc of the wild dark energy, gira tries to repeat the incantation he heard the elder say earlier but it isnt working, then gira is like “i have no other choice!” and it looks like gira holds the orb close to his chest and the stage goes dark as he screams and then a few moments later he reemerges as…… ~Dark Gira~
Tumblr media
Gira is silent for a moment but then he growls in a rlly low voice “i am the tyrant king… and i will destroy this planet!”  and starts blindly attacking everyone
evil gira doesnt do the classic evil laugh at all… hes eerily silent and mostly growls and groans a lot. he moves creepily like hes possessed, sometimes he crouches rlly low as if hes on all fours like a wild beast, he pounces on kaguragi and pins him to the ground like a predator 😱 (it was scarYyyy). his evil voice is also super super deep (huge win for the actual!evil tyrant gira enthusiasts…)
everyones like gira whats wrong with you!! gira snap out of it!! dont you recognize us?!?! but it seems gira has completely taken in the dark energy of the orb into himself
giras so powerful in this state that he defeats all the other kings. jeramie was the last to try and fight gira and smth ppl pointed out that Indeed i noticed was true on my rewatch is that evil gira mercilessly went for jeramies bugnarak arm 😭(AAAA)
in the end everyone can only lay defeated on the ground. jeramies dramatic ass says “ah, is this how the story ends? what a tragedy..”
the curtain slowly closes on evil gira standing alone center stage as he once again yells “i will destroy this world…!”
later, kaguragi, yanma, and rita gather together to reassess their plan. himeno joins in late, she just got done treating the elders wounds. he should be fine, and jeramie is looking after him now.
(note: i was internally screaming at this. ever since ep 42 when himeno was taking a look at injured racles and went “jeramie” and jeramie immediately knew to Web up his wounds i was like oh… theyve done this before. himeno and jeramie have been spending time tgt treating ppl/himeno has been teaching jeramie things and vice versa OOUGH MY BELOVED HIMENO AND JERAMIE FRIENDSHIP. JERAMIE NURSE IN TRAINING REAL) (also fuel for my 1677282 different headcanons regarding jeramie and how he deals with his own injuries... himeno getting mad at this 2000 yr old spider w 2000 yr old habits and teaching him how to take care of himself..)
rita is like no wonder the village ppl guarded the star drop so fiercely…
its a great, dangerous power that no one person should wield..
ah… so the myth is actually a burden/responsibility kaguragi let his ppl carry for 2000 yrs…. kaguragi wanted to help his own ppl, not selfishly use the wish for himself..
yanma deduces that the orb takes on the intense feelings of whoever makes a wish, and to cancel out the dark energy in gira right now, they need a feeling thats more powerful than That
but what?? from where and how??
then suddenly, evil gira reappears, still possessed by the dark energy
himenos like i know!! surely his feelings for us kings/our memories together as his friends are stronger!!
(the kings look at the audience)
OF COURSE!! we’ll use the power of everyones emotions here!! everyone, lend us your help, at the count of three, everybody shout gira’s name!!
whenever the audience shouted giraaaa, he gets hit with a sparkly effect, its working!! yanma goes hypeman cheerleader mode and is like CMON IS THAT ALL YOUVE GOT!! SAY IT LOUDERR
and we shout gira a couple times and finally we shout the incantation (it was rlly cute and sweet sobs)
a transition, gira is back to normal. the orb is also back in one piece
jeramie conveniently comes in after the whole thing all “ah, is gira back to normal already?” 💀💀 tuxedo man meme ass…
anyway now that they have the star drop again hot potato is BACK on and they fight kamejim for it one final time.
gira chases after kamejim and theres a funny bit during the chase where kamejim goes into the audience and gives the orb to one of the audience members and hes like “that persons holding it” and giras like oh sorry excuse me! could u please give me that orb? KHAHSHSJSN
then FINALLY once they got the orb back, they manage to actually destroy it for real so that smth like this never happens again. and thus the kings save the village from ruin! the elder is thankful to kaguragi and the others for saving them but ah… now this village no longer has a legend of its own. but then jeramie says “but we have rewritten it by creating a new legend! the story of the six heroes who saved this village!” our 思い (feelings) will be a new legend~
jeramie has this long winded ass curtain closing speech, going on abt probably the power of friendship and 思い and stories that we have to 心に刻まないとね♡ (carve it into our hearts) . i didnt see it on the show i saw but yes, this is where the infamous giramie hug happened :') the one i saw on the 2nd, jeramie said this while putting his hand on giras shoulder and leaning into him, on the 3rd he put a hand to his heart and looked into giras eyes…or visor. he titled his head all cutely and shit too ARGGGHH
and of course jeramie finishes the entire show by going …とさっ♡ (or so the story goes) and since gira and jeramie are standing next to each other center stage the curtain frames the both of them right before the show ends... aaa...
END!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
G ROSSO WAS SO GOOD AND FUN AND CUTE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! if you can, def tune into the livestream theyre doing at some point which is gonna feature the non suit actors in the show!!!
thanks again @valentinezlove for going to see both days w me~ because these days had the special stage greeting from the actors (and thats a WHOLE NOTHER THING IVE MADE SEPARATE POSTS ABOUT), there was no after show handshake with the suit actors but i still got to shake kuwagata-ohgers hand walking into the venue ;7; i will never emotionally recover...
(also i pulled jeramies trading card twice thank you shugods for looking out for me ahsjkd!!!)

I love how in Twice Dead King pretty much every major character is defined by tragedy...except for Yenekh of all people. He is presented as the most obviously tragic figure when he's first introduced. A great hero, dimmed and diminished by illness. Clinging to sanity that he's inevitably going to lose. The problem Oltyx has to deal with eventually. Except that isn't actually what's going on. Yenekh does become a "monster" but in the end that is just him transforming into something greater. More himself than he was when he was "perfect." He keeps his mind, his identity, and the hope that defines his character throughout everything. A literally incurable optimist.
Sure he goes through the Imperial navy like a blender goes through fresh fruit, but he makes it look good and it is incredibly cathartic.

Runaway Chapter 10: Phantom
Summary: After searching for so long Lilia finally finds Silver. But is it too late?
Previous Chapter
Master List
Ao3
Notes: *Twst spoilers for Chapter/Book 7
Lilia continued the search. Yet, while the vines became thicker, there was still no sigh of the rumored specter nor a clue to confirm that his son was here. Lilia was starting to lose hope.
‘Did I choose the wrong place?’ He growled as he clutched the ring around his neck.
“Argh, fuck! Stupid piece of shit!” he cursed, using his other arm to swipe at his tearing eyes. It served Lilia right, though. What was he thinking following a dumb--
“Urk!”
Lilia was nearly choked as the chain suddenly yanked him forward by the throat. He was so surprised that he ended up tripping down the large hill.
“FuuuhhhAhhAhahAhhh!” His cries went up and down as Lilia rolled.
Crash!
WHAM!
Lilia's body hit a large boulder at the bottom of the hill.
Upside down, the world continued to spin around him as the fae's mouth, bones, and muscles all groaned.
“Ughhh! Of course!” it was just Lilia’s luck, wasn’t it? Shit, was all this bad luck that Leprechaun king’s way of getting revenge for tricking him that one time 300 years ago? Cause if so--
Whoooosh~
The area turned gray, layered by a strange mist that slowly filled the air. Around Lilia, the vines began to move like snakes  cricking  and  cracking  as they did so.
“ Ah, ah, ahh, ahhh, ahhhhhhh~... ”
The notes of a song drifted overhead and fell like raindrops. A song that was both strange and familiar...
It tugged at Lilia’s heart, springing tears to his eyes as his breath caught in his throat. Then he remembered.
It was one of the songs he used to hum to Silver when the lad was a baby, to calm him after a terrible nightmare.
A song he nearly had forgotten…
A shadow fell.
Then he saw it.
Lilia’s gaze widened in horror.
“It can’t be…” Above him was a  phantom .
Despite living long, Lilia didn’t have an extensive experience with Phantoms. Though recently they had become more frequent, for a long time, they were rare.
Yet, despite his lack of knowledge, Lilia felt confident in saying that no Phantom was as beautiful as this one.
Its form was that of a Princess in sorrowful blue, floating upon a swirl of black mist. Like all Phantoms, it had an ink bottle for a head. This bottle was in the shape of a heart with a green light glinting off the glass. Atop the odd head, it wore a tarnished crown. It reminded Lilia of the ring that led him here. Yet what gave the Phantom its true beauty was its golden halo of hair. It hung in ringlets around the Phantom’s doll-like frame. Despite the green glow around the specter, it gave off no light, only a nimbus of darkness.
It sang a haunting tune like an old music box created to lull a child to sleep.
What held Lilia’s attention, however, was the figure she carried between delicate arms.
The man’s mouth fell agape, eyes growing twice their size as his brows pulled inward. His body began to tremble as the cold of winter plunged down his spine.
Through quivering lips, he muttered, “It can’t be... Silver! ”
Ink smeared across skin pale as the grave. The black streamed from closed eyes like tears, making it seem as if he were a boy crying in his sleep. The silver hair, for which he named, lost its moon-like shine and had become a dull gray, frayed like cobwebs. But none of that was what lit the terror that made Lilia’s old muscles turn to stone, nor made his heart stop dead as if shot with a bullet or turn his blood to ice. What did that was the blade. Said blade stabbed through Silver’s heart. The sword also pierced the Phantom, pinning him to its breast. The Phantom stroked the teen’s hair like a child, singing her lullaby. Lilia felt his mouth dry as he whispered, “It can’t be…” He then cartwheeled himself upright, turning as pale as the moon as his irises nearly vanished. His breath began uneven as he began muttering to himself, “No…It can’t…Please, no...” The chant became more and more desperate till it became a prayer. Mentally, he begged his mind to tell him his eyes were playing tricks. That it was all an illusion or a bad dream. Otherwise, the reality would be that his son was dead and that—that thing was cuddling his corpse like a doll. ‘No…’ he told himself. Lilia forced his panic back, and his rational side took over. ‘Silver could still be alive, just under an enchantment. Or could that…’ Could be his Overblot? It was difficult to see as the Phantom and the blade blocked most of his form. Regardless, Lilia knew his first step; freeing Silver from-- The Phantom turned an eyeless gaze upon him. Lilia crouched, clenching his jaw to stop his teeth from chattering from the chill going through his bones. Watching the foe closely, his hand moved to his clever, ready to pull and fight when-- It vanished.
Lilia blinked. He blinked again. Once more to be sure. Then his mouth dropped open.
“Huh? What...no...No!” Confusion turned to horror.
Silver was right there.  He was right there!  Dead or alive, Silver was right there before Lilia! And now he was gone!  Again!
“Silver! Silver!” Lilia ran to the spot where the Phantom had disappeared, swallowed by the mist of the late noon.
“Come on, come on, come on!!” Frustration filled the fae as he clawed through the mist as if the action would reveal his lost son.
Alas...
“Augh!”
The anguished cry tore from his throat as the father fell to his knees.
S L A M !
He pounded a fist into the dry soil as his legs hit the ground. “FUCK!”
As the man's fingers dug into the dirt, a few tear drops escaped his eyes, his body shaking from frustration.
He was so close!  He was so close,  and yet—and yet…
Hick, sob, hick…
Lilia slumped forward, over weighed by grief.
“F--fuck...”
~*~
Once he regained himself, Lilia called Idia. Well, sort of.
He called Sebek, who took the phone to Idia, apparently breaking his door down to do so. The other was not at all pleased.
“Sorry about that!” Lilia apologized, cutting short the complaints. Had he not been so emotionally exhausted, Lilia would have laughed or found some amusement in the situation. “But I had something I really needed to ask.”
Lilia then went on to explain the appearance of the Phantom and its odd actions. Lilia wasn’t familiar with Phantoms, but he knew them to be aggressive. Silver’s Phantom, on the other hand, took one look at him before fleeing.
Idia sighed sadly.
“So, even Silver…” he mumbled. He trailed off before returning to the topic.
“It’s rare, but it’s not, like, unheard of for Phantoms not to attack,” Idia explained. “There are some who are, well, cowards and will choose to run instead. From what we can figure, it depends on how the person who blots over handles stress.
“Like, Riddle has a temper, so when he's pissed, he lashes out at everybody.” Lilia heard the story of Riddle’s blot from Carter and how it acted like a large child throwing a tantrum. Even Malleus’ Phantom had lasted out like a beast in pure rage. But Silver wasn’t like that.
Yes, the teen got mad and upset. He would occasionally yell as well, as rare as it happened. But when he was truly upset to the point his heart broke he ran.
‘Just like when he found out we weren’t related…’ Lilia closed his eyes as he recalled the memory and the child’s broken expression.
“ So… you’re not my father?”  Lilia had been so stunned not by the question but by the torment on Silver’s face as the words were muttered through trembling lips.
Lilia flinched as a metaphorical dagger pierced his soul. That same anguish was on his face in the dream world, his body shaking like it had as a child.
“ Father… I—I…”  Lilia’s heart broke.
‘Oh, Silver…’ After everything that happened, it was no surprise that Silver was distraught to the point where he must have felt like he was drowning. However, it took more than an emotional state to blot everyone over.
The teenager would have had to have used a lot of magic. The broom ride would have been tiring but not enough—
Then Lilia realized; ‘Meet in a Dream.’ Silver Unique magic.
Silver used that spell for who knows how long to save everyone. He also took travelers with him to several dreams. So, even though his body was resting, it must have taken a toll on his mental state and mana. And then with everything he had discovered and gone through…
A knot twisted in his stomach as his chest became heavy.
‘The reason Silver blotted over was…’ Because of him. Because Silver wanted to save everyone from his mistakes--
Lila’s grip shook till he tightened it on his phone.
“Then what about the Phantom in this case?” he asked Idia, keeping his voice firm. “Are you saying it’s not dangerous?” It wasn’t Idia’s voice he heard next.
“Well?! Answer him!”
“Eep! Stop shaking me!” Ah. Lilia forgot Sebek was there. From what he could hear, Sebek had become quite emotional about Silver’s state. Knowing Sebek, Lilia was surprised Sebek held back this long.
“Sebek, control yourself,” Lilia ordered. “Idia; is the Phantom dangerous?” There was an exasperated groan from the other side as Idia attempted to pull himself together.
“Uggghhh...Diasomnia...can’t deal…” He took another moment to compose, but Sebek barked something, and Idia jumped into his answer finally.
“Eep! Kinda?!” He (and Lilia) made Sebek back off before going into more detail. “They’re usually pretty harmless till cornered. Then they lash out like a trapped rat, ya know?” Then the Shroud sighed heavily as if something heavy was dropped on him.“The real issue is that while it's running the life is still being drained from its host.” Lilia’s skin nearly went transparent.
‘ Shit! ’ He forgot that. He forgot that a phantom drained its host of their life force.
Which meant that even if Silver was alive now--
“You mean… Silver’s going to die?” Sebek’s question turned the whole world static. He didn’t even hear Idia’s response.
Die, die, Silver? His Silver? His son? No! No, no, no!
“Hey, Lila? Ortho’s contacted STYX officers. They’re sending over a troop. It would--” Lilia hung up, his heart racing in his ears as he started running.
His jaw clenched as he breathed hard through his nose, his eyes growing wild. He didn’t know what would happen from here on out, but he knew this;
Silver was NOT going to die!

Why does the bsd Fandom make chuuya so soft. I always see in fanfics when people write angst about chuuya they always make it about Dazai. In some of the ones I read, they would make it that Dazai was just using Chuuya for his own pleasure or some other gross stuff that. I honestly hate this because it goes against Chuuya's whole character, and on top of that, Chuuya has had a lot worse happen to him. (Beyond this point, there will be spoilers for the 15 arc and Stormbringer) First of all, in Stormbringer, it is stated that the sheep found chuuya literally STARVING under a bridge. He was then kinda forced to lead a whole group and risk his life for them over and over so they could survive (I know Chuuya likes fighting and that he was loyal to the sheep but it was fucked up how he was used by them because of his strength and forced to be their "king" especially since he was a literal kid) He was then stabbed by those people that he protected with his life, over a misunderstanding. Going back to Stormbringer, after a successful year in the mafia with a group named the flags, his brother ,that he didn't know about, pulls up and starts killing everyone he cares about (aka the flags). He then witnesses some of his only friends die and now has to make sure that other people he loves dearly don't get slaughtered. Not long after that, he finds out that he is a clone and sees another version of himself melt in his arms. The same scientists that were studying him then started tourtouring him in the name of science. While this is happening, he hallucinats and sees the flags again and is reminded of his recently gained trauma while being shocked from the inside. And once again, he risks his life for all of Yokohama and uses corruption for the first time to fight his long-lost brother. And BTW, stormbringer only took course over a few days, and the betrayal of the sheep only happened a year before that. The saddest thing about all of this, in my opinion, is that Chuuya still forgave everyone no matter how much suffering they put him through. Also, I'd like to point out that despite chuuya not being suicidal, he does risk his life all the time and doesn't even think twice about it like in dead apple when he used corruption. I'm sorry about my rant, but I've really wanted to write about this for a long time, and I wasn't expecting it to be this long. Anyway, I hope you all have a nice day/night and make sure to take care of yourself.

Conflict in Literature + Necron Books
(Read more for titles and notes, watch out for spoilers)
Man vs. Nature - Devourer This is not the only necron vs. tyranid lit, but I thought the cover illustrated the conflict best. Out of all the horribad things in WH40K, the tyranids tend to be presented as the closest faction to a natural disaster; certainly in Devourer they do not logically justify their presence, nor can they be reasoned with, not by the Blood Angels or Anrakyr or the Tomb World he's trying to wake. Not mindless, but an amoral happenstance, like nature itself.
Man vs. Society - The Lords of Borsis Necron court intrigue played straight, with a sprinkle of delusion on the side. Since this story revolves entirely around the schemings and plottings of necron(tyr) society, with changes in dynastic hierarchy as the final objective, it fits best here.
Man vs. Technology - Indomitus This is an awkward placement, since Indomitus was not, well... a compelling story, with most of its tropes not being explored beyond their first introduction. But it is the most bare-bones way of describing this book's premise. Humans battling a robotic malignancy, albeit with a Bolivian Army Ending, which doesn't conclude the plot in either direction 😞
Man vs. Man - The Twice-Dead King: Ruin Ruin is an exceptionally deep novel, and fits every conflict listed here. It was the hardest one to place, because it's not so much choosing the one that goes best, rather crossing off every other conflict not central to the story. Both gods and the absence-of-gods are a problem in Ruin, as well as nature and technology, but they're not at the heart of Oltyx's problem. Society could be a big one, since Oltyx is an exile - but he’s not trying to antagonize his society throughout Ruin, he's trying to work with it, or at least save it from doom. Self and reality both count, but fit better with other stories in the Nate Crowley corpus. So man vs. man it is. His most important clashes are all with individuals ('man') - Djoseras, Unnas, Hemiun, arguably Yenekh in reserve - and by the end, his crownworld is overrun by the Imperium, who will become the antagonists for the second part of his tale. Man vs. 'Man', with a capital M.
Man vs. Self - The Twice-Dead King: Reign Again, this could have gone elsewhere. In man vs. reality, perhaps, or the god-related ones. But the self is where the conflict of Reign truly lies, since Oltyx's greatest obstacle is himself, and it is his inability to accept that which brings his dynasty close to destruction. Thank goodness he got over that one.
Man vs. Reality - Severed The emotional and philosophical core of this novella relies on it. Zahndrekh's inability to see the world as it is brings about the whole plot, and is at the centre of all of Obyron's musings. Interestingly, reality does not win at the end, at least not what necrons envision reality to be: a place of cold hard facts, with no room for emotion. Zahndrekh would rather dream the impossible dream, which might be the healthier way to deal with their situation.
Man vs. God - The Infinite and the Divine 🚨 𝔻𝕆 ℕ𝕆𝕋 𝔹𝔼 𝔻𝔼ℂ𝔼𝕀𝕍𝔼𝔻 🚨
Man vs. No God - Crusade: Pariah Nexus Not a novel, not 100% about necrons, not even out yet as of now (Dec 2023). This is an inherently problematic conflict for WH40K, because gods are very real and very present in that universe... here I'm only thinking about the necron perspective, and the civil war unfolding in their lore. They banded together in a shared purpose eons ago, destroying the Old Ones who oppressed them, and sundering the star gods who subjected them to biotransference. Now they are as antigod as they could be, and they did not retain their bonds, they have once again turned on each other. So it goes.
Man vs. Author - Codex: Necrons (10th Ed.) (Collector's Ed.) James Workshop knows what they did. 😑

Spoilers for Hazbin Hotel ep5
I'm almost certain rhat Alastor was playing up the whole being a father figure to Charlie just because it made Lucifer, king of hell, pissy.
But you can pry the idea that Alastor meant it out of my cold, twice dead hands.
