The live-action Clone Wars flashbacks in Ahsoka were great but everyone who's been unironically saying shit like "we need a whole series out of this!" as if we don't literally already have seven seasons and a movie of it is very much proving animation fans' point about it not being valued as a valid art form like live-action is.

Ughhh I'm GENUINELY curious to know what the fuck happened in the two years between Grudge of Edinburgh and The Four knights of the Apocalypse because this doesn't make any fucking sense 😭!
At the end of Goe Tristan was on his way to accepting his demon roots and powers. He had finally found a special someone ( Lancelot ) who wasn't his parents that he could fight alongside and could rely on when he loses control of his powers. He had made up with Meliodas who had acknowledged that Tristan was growing up and needed some autonomy and he even told him that he was proud of him . The two embrace tightly and the movie ends. It looks like they made up.
Enter 4koa, 2 years later, Tristan acts cold towards Meliodas and shrugs him off whenever he tries to interact with him . And during the fight against Arthur when Meli tried to fight alongside him, Tristan was absolutely furious . I know that he was in his demon form and that being berserk makes demons act unstable but it was very obvious with later chapters that most of what Tristan said was true and from the heart :
- "Am i hurt ?!" I'm always fighting to death !
- You can't treat me like a child forever !
- I can fight on my own even without your power !
It's very obvious that Tristan feels a lot of anger towards Meliodas and feels like his father keeps treating him like a child, doesn't let him fight his own battles and thinks that he doesn't believe in him .
But the thing is Tristan couldn't just gain all these feelings of anger out of this one incident ! And since he said " always " it kind of implies that this has happened before .
Yet in Goe we have NEVER seen Meliodas interupt any of Tristan's fights .
And at the end of the movie Tristan didn't mind using his powers yet in the 4koa he tries to use them as little as he can .
So between these two years, when Tris was 14-16 years old, something happened between Meli and Tris, involving Tristan's demon powers and Meliodas intefering .
Meliodas's inteference caused, Tristan to grow resentful and bitter towards his father but mostly, he feels like his father doesn't believe in him .
So now he shuts him out and constantly tries to prove to him that he is capable of fighting without the help of others and his demon powers .
But he will never manage to prove it, cause being part demon is a part of Tristan and if he rejects that part of him, he will never go stronger hence he will never prove himself to anyone .
And the saddest part is, he doesn't even need to prove himself because everyone knows he's capable of great things if he would just use that part of him ☹️.
Happy Gawain helped him a bit, but I do hope he'll have grown a bit during the timeskip ( although i get the feeling timeskip Tristan won't be the same sweet boy he was before )

I think it's funny how the scene where everyone learns each other's powers goes.
Libby: Oh Reina your a naturalist?
Reina: Yes😑
Parisa: You suck at it.
Reina: Fuck you.
Nico: What's everyone's specialty? 😄
Parisa: What's yours.
Nico: Libby and I are physicists! And you?😊
Parisa: lol no I'm not telling you.
Libby: But working together?😟
Parisa: No.
*everyone argues*
Nico: WAIT GUYS WHOSE INFLUENCING RHODES????????
Callum: lol I was just helping😇
Reina: That means Parisa's a telepath.
Libby: WHY CAN'T WE JUST WORK TOGETHER????????
Everyone: shut up Libby.
*everyone looks at Tristan to explain his powers*
Tristan: I can see through illusions.
Libby: Oh no you can see I have a zit! This is the most embarrassing thing ever—
Tristan: Yep, definitely *looks at Callum who has his entire face and body illusioned to look completely different*
Callum, internally: oh fuck.

꒰ Miguel's Pov ꒱
I stared at the photo on my phone screen, She was so beautiful an angel even.
She was so breathtaking, She had me so flustered and I haven't ever met her.
"Are you stalking y/n's Instagram again?" Maddy asked sitting down beside me, I quickly clicked out of Instagram and turned my phone off,
"What no!" I said playing dumb,
She rolled her eyes sighing, "Why don't you just DM her?" She asked,
"Are serious? DM THE y/n y/l/n?" I asked raising an eyebrow,
"Haha no! She would laugh her ass off- She would probably post it on her Instagram story like Noah Schnapp posted doja cat's DM!" I said throwing my head back,
"No, she wouldn't!" She said rolling her eyes,
"Oh, really how would you know?" I asked looking over at her,
"She just doesn't seem like that type of person," She shrugged smiling.
I was debating on messaging y/n, but the chances of her seeing my DM out of a thousand more are extremely low, I think I'm just gonna have to admire her over the screen and live in my own fantasy world.
"I could do it for you!" Maddy said, I raised my eyebrow looking back at her.
"Do what?" I asked, "I could DM y/n on your phone since you are too chicken," She laughed
"Come on kids we need to go!" I sighed as Maddy and I got up to walk to the limo outside.
"I'll think about it Mads," I said, she nodded as we got in the limo.
꒰ Y/n's Pov ꒱
"Alright, all done!" My Makeup artist Tami said as she closed the lip gloss.
I looked in the mirror and smiled at my reflection, I had just gotten my hair done as well and I was already in my outfit.
My bestfriend Maddy had invited me to a movie premiere, She was recently in a movie called the black phone.
I of course said yes to going, She is my bestfriend after all, Plus she said she needed to tell me something when I got there.
"Are you ready?" Tami said as I stood up out of the seat,
"Kind of, I'm just nervous." I said playing with my rings, "Awh why honey?" She asked laying a hand on my shoulder.
I was excited to go don't get me wrong I loved supporting my bestfriend in anything she did, but there was a certain someone that was gonna be there tonight, Miguel Cazarez Mora.
"Well, I kind of have a crush on Miguel, But he doesn't know me- And what if I stutter when I speak to him or-"
"You will be fine y/n, if there is one thing I know about you it's how confident you are, I've seen boys flirt with you before and you just end up making them all soft, you make them boy's fall like dominos." She said packing up all her makeup.
I guess she was right, I just need to be confident and not make a complete fool out of myself.
"Let's go y/n everyone is on the way there." My bodyguard said as he walked into the room, I nodded my head got up and walked outside to the limo.
"You got this y/n, remember who you are," I whispered to myself as the limo drove off.
꒰ Maddy's Pov ꒱
We had finally arrived at the premiere and I couldn't find y/n anywhere, I just decided to text her.
......
Prettiest girl💕
Hey, where are you?
I just got to the premier
Why what's up?
Come to the green room everyone is back here!
KK getting mobbed lol
see you in a min 😽
😽😽
.....
"Bro shut the fuck up that's why you can't pull no bitches." Mason yelled as he and Miguel walked through the door, Brady and Tristan following in after them laughing.
"What do you mean I got tons of bitches on my d-" I quickly cut Miguel off by Calling out for Mason to come over.
"Mason Come here!" He walked over saying a quick bye to the boys,
"What's up?" He said standing in front of me, "Okay, So you know how Miguel has a fat crush on Y/n Y/l/n right?" I said, and he rolled his eyes.
"Do I know? He never shuts up about her!" He said causing both of us to laugh,
"Well she's my friend and I kind of invited her without telling Miguel-"
His eyes widened as his jaw dropped, "YOU WHAT!?" He yelled, I quickly put my hand over his mouth, I looked over at Miguel who was looking at me and Mason With a confused look, I sent him a quick smile before looking back at Mason.
"Could you shut up! You're goin' to ruin the surprise idiot!" I said rolling my eyes
He put both of his hands up in surrender, "My bad- My bad," He laughed,
"So how are you going to surprise him?" He asked, "I'm just gonna try to get him close as possible and then I'm going to point her out," I said smiling at my plan.
"That sounds like a shit plan," I gasped, He laughed and patted me on the back.
"I think that you should tell her that Miguel has a crush on her and then she walks up and kisses him out of nowhere," He said smiling, I rolled my eyes at his stupidity.
"You that's an even worse plan, right? Consent still exists, I like my plan better." I said shrugging my shoulders, our conversation was interrupted by Miguel walking over.
"Hey, Maddy hows is it going!?" He smiled leaning in for a hug, I hugged him back,
"We were just talking about- Uhh- How Maddy won her soccer game!!" Mason said scratching the back of his neck, He gave Mason a weird look but didn't question his friend's weird behavior
"Congratulations Mads!" He said, We all heard gasps and people whispering,
Next thing I know Miguel's mouth and eyes were wide open, He was blushing like crazy and his breathing started to pick up, I gave him a weird look before turning around to see what's got my bestfriend so flustered.
I smiled as I watched y/n walk through the door, Thanking the guard that opened it for her, She stopped in the middle of the room looking around, Smiling and winking at some people that were staring at her, Her eyes landed on me and I quickly waved her over.
"Holy shit- Holy shit- Fuck- Do I look good she's coming over here," I laughed at Miguel's panicking state, He was so red, it was so cute to see him all worked up over just looking at y/n.
"Dude chill, You look red as shit, You could identify as a tomato right now," Mason said, Laughing as Miguel rolled his eyes, "She's just breathtaking," He said, staring at y/n as she got closer to our group, His hands began shaking, Jesuse christ this man is whipped already.
She slowly walked up to me smiling, "Hi Maddy, It's so good to see you," She said hugging me, I smiled and looked at Miguel who was staring at y/n with wide eyes, Mason hit his shoulder, "OW!" He yelled, rubbing his shoulder where Mason hit him, Mason just rolled his eyes laughing at the flustered boy.
꒰ Y/n's Pov ꒱
"Hi Maddy, It's so good to see you," I said giving her a big hug, I haven't seen her in person for two years, But we obviously kept in contact over the phone, "OW!" I looked over to see Miguel rubbing his shoulder as Mason laughed, I smiled as he looked up at me.
"Hi, I'm y/n," I said raising my hand for him to shake, He gulped before shaking my hand, I could tell how nervous he was, "I'm M-Miguel, It's very nice to meet y-you," He stuttered, keeping intense eye contact, He pulled his hand away smiling, "U-Uh h-how do you know Maddy?" He asked looking up at me, a slight blush on his cheeks.
"Real smooth dawg," Mason whispered, Miguel sent him a glare,
"I went to my little sister's soccer game, I was sitting down and Maddy came up to me and started fan Girling," I explained laughing at the memory,
"I was shocked to see you there," Maddy said laughing along,
"I heard that you're filming a new movie, Hows that going?" Mason asked,
I in fact was filming a new movie,
Scream VI, I played as Tara Carpenter and Sam Carpenter's little sister, Alana Carpenter.
"It's going good, I defiantly can't wait for it to come out next year!" I Said smiling.
"You're an amazing actor," Miguel said out of nowhere, Mason and Maddy busted out laughing, While I just starred at Miguel and smiled, He nervously looked away, licking his lips,
"Thank you, I liked your character, Robin Arellano, he was pretty badass," I said smiling, He laughed, looking at me.
A boy with blonde hair came up to us, patting Miguel on the back,
"Are you guys coming, We're going to watch the movie," He said, His eyes cut over to me and he gasped,
"NO FUCKING WAY BRO!" He yelled,
I smiled saying hi,
"I'm Brady- It's so nice to meet you oh my god- you're so pretty," He shook my hand, and We left to go watch the movie.
I sat between Maddy and Miguel.
Me and Maddy were sharing a bucket of popcorn before Mason stole it away.
I sighed as I looked up at the screen, Miguel and Mason's part came up, The bathroom scene.
I felt eyes on me, I looked over to see Miguel staring at me, He quickly looked back to the screen, It was completely dark but I could see the red tint on his cheeks.
"Pst" I heard,
I looked over to see Maddy,
"Miguel has a huge crush on you, Just so you know," She whispered in my ear giggling,
I smiled and nodded my head, "Really! I couldn't tell?" I thought, Laughing to myself,
Miguel looked over at me as we locked eyes, "What's so funny?" He asked smiling,
"Just something Maddy told me," I said looking at the screen,
His eyes widened as he straightened his posture, "What did she tell you?" He asked,
"Nothing important."
He looked back at the screen.
꒰ Miguel's Pov ꒱
Shit, what did Maddy tell y/n, she said she would DM y/n for me,
Would she tell her that I like her here, I fucking hope not- But I kinda hope she did at the same time so I don't embarrass myself,
Fuck I'm shitting bricks right now.
I'm still trying to process the fact she was sitting right beside me!
God do I want to kiss her so fucking bad, But I couldn't, I just had to stare at her like a creep.
꒰ Time Skip ꒱
Everybody had just finished watching the movie and went to go take some group photos.
"I'm starving," Mason whined, placing is hand on his stomach,
"Your hungry? I could eat whole human right now," Maddy said,
"Ah hell Nah!" Y/n said as she moved to hide behind Miguel, everyone Laughed, Miguel blushed.
"Do you guys want to go to McDonald's?" Tristan asked, opening the car door for everyone,
"I would kill for some chicken nuggets right now," y/n laughed as she and everyone else sat in the limo.
"Same," Brady said, everybody agreed on McDonald's.
"We are so bougie rolling up to McDonald's in fancy clothes and a damn limo," Tristan laughed.
"Oh well I want my damn chicken nuggets," Maddy said causing everyone to laugh,
When the group got to McDonald's they ordered and sat down, getting weird looks from everybody in there.
"Hey, I have to ask you something," Miguel said, walking up to y/n,
"What is it," she asked, patting the seat beside her, he sat down and smiled at her.
"Um… I don't know how to say this," he nervously laughed, she just smiled and grabbed his hands, keeping eye contact, "You can tell me," she said.
Miguel took a deep breath trying to brace himself for rejection.
He basically shitting himself at this point, he knew he would never get this moment alone with her again, So why not shoot his shot, if she did reject it would be super embarrassing but at least he could say he tried.
"I… I really like you, Y/n… I think you are absolutely gorgeous and I think that you are perfect, I would like to take you out on a date sometime, if that's ok with you- I understand if you don't feel the same-"
Miguel was quickly cut off by a pair of warm plush lips on his, his eyes widened in panic but hurried to relax as he saw it was y/n.
When they pulled away Miguel was a blushing, Flustered mess.
He was smiling like an idiot, but who wouldn't be if they had just kissed Y/n l/n, he was definitely losing it when he got home.
"I like you too Miguel, I would love to go out with you," Y/n smiled, pulling him in by his shirt for another long kiss.

I Can't Heal What's Broken (All I Need Is A Change)
This was supposed to come out like a week ago but then I kept having ideas for things that could happen during Rollo’s first day at nrc and then I kept second guessing if the guys were in character and long story short it’s 12k words again, whoops.
We don’t really have too much to go off of given how little time Rollo has had so far (yes I totally expect him to come back I am booboo the fool 🤡) and then there’s the language barrier, but hopefully the guys feel accurate enough.
Also, I allude to the Prefect being a somewhat good painter because I noticed there’s a canvas on the room in-game and I thought ‘hey if I or anyone painted regularly for a few months we’d probably get good at it, right?’ Also because I thought it made for some nice interaction with Rollo.
Trigger Warning: descriptions of anxiety attacks.
The Prefect was trembling slightly, whether from cold or nerves they weren’t sure. Probably a combination of both.
In just a few minutes Rollo would arrive and change everything about how Ramshackle operated. They felt excited yet anxious, what if they didn’t get along? It’d be miserable to share a living space with just one other person and not get along. But worse it’d be if Rollo couldn’t adapt to life in NRC.
‘Quit shaking henchman! You’re making me dizzy!’ Grim complained from his spot in the Prefect’s arms. They let out a quiet apology and let him down as they saw Crowley approach with someone in tow, Rollo.
The Prefect gulped down their nerves. There was no more time to overthink this, the decision was made. Time to show Rollo the determination and friendliness they were known for here at NRC.
‘Grim, please behave today, we don’t want to make Rollo’s first night here anymore difficult than it already is’ By the way Grim opened his mouth and furrowed his brow, he wanted to retort something but soon chose to shut up and scamper off back to the dorm muttering something about counting how many snacks he had before anyone tried to steal from him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rollo was perplexed. Two months after the symposium, when he admitted in front of the student council what he had done during the symposium- no, why he had suggested the symposium in the first place, he expected looks of disgust and betrayal, words of anger and demands of punishment, to be kicked out of the school and thrown in jail. Sure, the other students had looked betrayed, and they had also risen in anger to demand answers but ultimately they didn’t punish him as harshly as he had expected, as he had hoped.
‘Presid- Rollo, please…please tell us this is a joke’ The desperation in Yeshua’s voice was palpable, they all knew Rollo was not one to joke around ‘There has to be an explanation, a reason why you did that? Please just tell us’ Tristan was noticeably quiet, staring at the floor in deep thought.
Rollo didn’t feel like explaining, not after the way those Night Rave students reacted, like their anger had been tempered by sympathy. Rollo didn’t need sympathy, he needed to atone so that this guilt would finally go away.
So he remained quiet, just looking at Yeshua with a blank stare.
‘The gargoyles said that you were troubled’ Ah, so they talked to other people besides himself ‘That maybe we would manage to reach out to you since we are made of flesh and blood, but it seems you’re not ready yet Rollo’ Tristan’s hand felt warm on his shoulder, reassuring almost.
His eyes told him he was hurt, utterly heartbroken but also ashamed, as if the depth of his fear and sorrow was something they should have been able to know.
Rollo’s stomach twisted and turned, he felt his lungs battle to get the air in, his head spun and suddenly the room was too tiny. He had to get out, now.
He rushed outside, breathing madly in and out, saliva coating the corners of his mouth as he tried to calm himself. The world kept spinning so he closed his eyes, took a deep breath in and tried to remind himself that he was fine, he just had to get this over with so the guilt would disappear. Soon he’d be in jail and all thought of his plans, of his time in this school and of his talks with the people of the city would be erased by time.
He turned around when he heard the click of the door and saw his classmates standing there with troubled looks. Clearly still processing what he said. Rollo hoped they would decide something already.
Instead, Yeshua and Tristan brought the situation to the Headmage who quickly tried to make sense of everything. Naturally he couldn’t just tell the authorities about the Crimson Flowers, it could damage the school’s reputation and in turn the other student’s prospects for the future. There was also the fact that Rollo was a model student, dutiful, serious and responsible and Headmage Tirmont had to also admit that being able to bring a flower back from extinction was a most impressive feat, even if the flower itself was dangerous. Truly Rollo could do great things in the future! But for that he had to have a future.
He was stuck between a rock and a hard place. What to do? In the following weeks he consulted with the rest of the student council, to see the perspective of the students who would be most affected by this going public.
While heartbroken, they agreed that Rollo had done much too good for their school to just be labeled a criminal for the rest of his life, and they also hoped that he could be reformed since nobody had been permanently hurt in the chaos the flowers wrought. Surely if he had confessed it was because he knew in his heart that he did wrong and wanted to make amends.
The Headmage then sent letters to a few other schools, hoping to find one that would give him advice on this peculiar situation. It was then that Rollo pointed out that the students from Night Raven College were aware of his actions and chose to not turn him in at the time so they could enjoy the ball. He asked the Headmage to send a letter to their Headmage so they would convince Tirmont that he deserved to be imprisoned.
Yeshua and Tristan once again argued, saying that he didn’t deserve such a severe punishment but he was certain they only said that because they admired him for years, until he let them down.
When all the letters had been sent, Headmage Tirmont admitted that he considered expelling Rollo, much to the chagrin of his classmates. He almost smiled but then the Headmage explained ‘There have been many overblots in Night Raven College this year, and yet all the students who’ve overblotted have reintegrated classes just fine. I think that whatever the reason, Crowley has the key to ensure mister Flamme can atone without ruining his future’ At this, Yeshua smiled brightly and Tristan yelled in elation.
Rollo was…touched, even if his face showed displeasure. Yet, a part of him still wished for proper punishment. He hated being eaten by guilt every time he cleaned the Bell of Salvation or whenever a student complimented him for his dedication to the school or when the people from the city smiled brightly at him for his help after the disaster. He had done so much in the days after the symposium hoping to quell the guilt growing in his heart, hoping that he would not have to face justice… but he was a Noble Bell student, the student council president in fact, and one does not study here without wanting to emulate the Fair Judge at least in some aspect.
No, Rollo could not live with himself unless he admitted his crime and faced proper punishment for it, it was only fair.
This was not fair.
Getting expelled from Noble Bell College extra-officially only to be sent to Night Raven College so he could finish his studies seemed like a slap on the wrist to him. The Headmage assured him that it’d be punishment enough but Rollo kept arguing for more. Deep down he didn’t want to have to face the Night Raven College students again, after the way they stopped his plan and made him face his own demons, it left him feeling worse than guilty, it made him feel vulnerable.
‘Rollo, you are a great student, ask anyone at Noble Bell College and they will say so. You have done so much since your enrollment, and twice as much since the symposium I assume because you wanted to repent somehow. And even if you weren’t such a reliable student, there was no permanent damage, nobody lost their magic and nobody got seriously injured, so to punish you the way you wish to would be disproportionate, it’d be unfair’
The Headmage’s words were pushing through his carefully placed barriers. Rollo couldn’t voice it but he did want a second chance, the opportunity to regain his classmates' trust and hold his head high when visiting the city. Maybe he should listen to what the Headmage wanted to propose.
‘See my boy, I contacted some other Headmages in hopes of sending you to finish your studies in a different school, because I firmly believe that you must graduate and use your talents for good, but I also think you can’t stay here’ Rollo was no fool, he understood perfectly why that would be best for him but it still hurt ‘Between how the students would feel having you here everyday and how much you love our city, I believe this must be part of your punishment: once you leave for your new school you may not return until we believe you have atoned properly. To that end, the city council and I will grant you an audience on this day five years from now to see how far along you have come. Until then, you are banned from entering the City of Flowers’ Rollo tried to suppress his emotions but…well he wasn’t made of stone, unlike the noisy gargoyles. His face showed the shock and hurt coursing through his heart. He grit his teeth and tried to swallow the knot forming in his throat, for as much as he hated to say it this was what he had wanted when he confessed his crime, a fair punishment.
So why? Why did he feel like this? Why did he feel like hiding under his bed to cry?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The day had finally come. Rollo’s bags were packed and he stood solemnly in the front gates of Noble Bell College, wearing casual clothing instead of his uniform. The Headmage had given him a few indications to reach Night Raven College safely as well as his tickets to Sage’s Island. He warned him that the trip would be long so he should try to use it to prepare mentally for his new life.
Throughout his whole explanation, Rollo’s eyes were empty. As much as he knew this was a much better outcome than what he deserved, he still felt awful. To leave his beloved City of Flowers for so long…maybe forever if his guilt remained as strong as it was now. And he didn’t even want to think of what would await him in Night Raven College.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of heels clicking on the cobblestone. The rest of the student council. They looked conflicted to be here, still grappling with someone they respected so much doing something so awful and yet wanting the best for him. Rollo was surprised to see them seeing how early it was, and half expected them to start crying waterfalls amidst their goodbyes. Once again they surprised him. ‘Ex president Rollo…we have come to bid you goodbye’ Yeshua stepped forward with a solemn expression and soon the rest followed ‘We hope that in Night Raven College you may find redemption, not just from others but from yourself. We all agreed to give you this second chance because we believe there is still good in you and we want to see you become that dependable man again, so please do your best’ They all gave a small reverence and Rollo felt guilty all over again. As foolish as they were for being so kind, he still saw in them some of the best students Noble Bell had to offer…and he almost ruined their futures…
‘I will return when I am worthy’ Rollo was never good at goodbyes, or at greetings or at conversations. He wasn’t the most social person but he could make do when it was required of him. Still, the boys in front of him knew him better than most and knew he meant every word. If he didn’t feel worthy of the city, of the Bell’s forgiveness, even if the council deemed him fit he would not return. With that, he entered the carriage and looked one last time at the city that saw him and his brother grow… he saw the stores selling their goods, he smelled the freshly baked croissants and he heard the goats bleating happily and a single tear trailed down his cheek.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arriving at Night Raven College had proven to be quite the long trip. Once at the airport he had to take a train, then transfer to a bus, board a ferry, transfer to ANOTHER ferry and once he finally was at Sage’s Island he took another bus to finally reach the imposing gates of the prestigious College. During the long journey, Rollo made use of the Headmage’s advice and thought of what might await him.
To say he was nervous was an understatement. Rollo fully expected to be received by a group of students still mad at what he had done, ready to lynch him. Instead it was only one man standing imposingly at the front gate. His semblance was grim, with unblinking eyes hidden behind a pointed mask, the feathers on his coat swayed with the wind and for a moment he swore he felt that same breeze run a nail across his cheek. Rollo shook his head to clear his mind and stood as straight as he could. ‘Headmage Crowley, thank you for accepting me amongst your students despite my conduct, I will not waste the opportunity you have given me’
Crowley remained unblinking but the movement of his eyes told him he was being studied thoroughly. Naturally Rollo tried to stand taller, to appear more confident and ordered than he was. Finally, the man spoke ‘Why yes! Of course I am happy to give such a bright student a second chance, for I am ever so kind! I’m sure you will fit right in with the students of Night Raven College, mister Flamme. Do follow me now to your new dorm’ With an arrogant smile that hid his previously threatening aura, the man turned around and opened the gate.
The creaking of the metal made a chill run down his spine. For some reason, Rollo felt as if crossing that threshold were an end, to what though? His life? In a way, yes. Once he walked into the campus he would officially be a student of Night Raven College, and while the thought itself wasn’t fastidious, it didn’t feel right. So he took a deep breath and steeled his nerves. This was his punishment, so he had to take it in stride if he ever wanted to return home.
Rollo followed Crowley silently, his steps barely making a sound. Just a few meters away from the gate, the man spoke again ‘Headmage Tirmont tells me you are banned from returning to the City of Flowers until further notice, so I can’t allow you to use the Dark Mirror to visit but if you find yourself wanting to visit some other locations, I’ll be so kind as to open a pathway for you’ He acknowledged his words with a simple thank you and a nod.
Reaching a crossing, the Headmage turned right and proceeded to explain what some of the buildings were. ‘Opposite of where we’re going is the Coliseum, where the Spelldrive matches are played. Over here is Mister S’ Mystery Shop, where you can restock on almost anything really, Sam always has a good selection of anything you may need’ Rollo glanced in the direction of the shop and noted it’s location in case he ever needed something, but other than that didn’t pay much attention to the details. He would do that come morning.
‘Over there is the Hall of Mirrors, it is the only way to reach the other dormitories as they exist in pocket dimensions. In theory students can come and go as they please but some dorms are more welcoming of visitors than others, so I advise that you use it with discretion’ A small nod was his only answer until he realized they were not going towards the hall but rather around it. Wasn’t he going to live in one of the famed seven dorms? Come to think of it, he didn’t undergo the Mirror Ceremony he has heard about, so where are they going? ‘Headmage, may I ask where will I be staying?’
‘Oh don’t worry about it, we’re almost there. Anyways over here we have the Alchemy Workshop and over there is the Botanical Garden’ The Headmage just kept talking in his chipper tone as if Rollo had never made a question, which irritated the boy a little ‘You are free to visit them on your own time, plenty of students like to maintain a variety of plants both innocuous and dangerous in the Botanical Garden, although I must warn you that everything there is communal so as much as you can make use of plants grown by someone else, they may make use of the plants you grow’ There was a certain glint in his eyes that made Rollo embarrassed. He was teasing him for what he had done with the Crimson Flowers. No matter, spreading the flowers here would be a monumental task and he would rather focus on his studies.
As they kept walking in silence, they approached what seemed to be some abandoned woods in the back of the school. Then, he noticed the building in the distance. Ah, that must be the Ramshackle dorm the Prefect had spoken so fondly about, although it didn’t seem nearly as dilapidated as they had described it. All their effort fixing it up must be paying off, it looked beautiful. Rollo couldn’t help but smile, while they hadn’t talked as much as he wished during their visit, he appreciated how hardworking the Prefect was. The fact that they had to do everything without magic simply added to his admiration.
‘Well, here we are, your new residence: Ramshackle dorm’ Crowley made a grand gesture towards the gate while the Prefect walked down the staircase smiling all the way.
Rollo hadn’t forgotten how they looked, but his memory certainly didn’t do them justice.
‘Hi Rollo, welcome to Ramshackle, I hope we can be friends’ Their smile was warm and inviting and Rollo desperately wanted to smile at them too, but he held back, giving instead a polite nod and a handshake that lingered for just a second more than was strictly necessary.
‘Are you certain that you are okay with me staying here? I would understand it if you would rather I stay somewhere else’ Rollo had to make sure, he didn’t want to impose on them after what he put them through. ‘It’s fine, I’m actually looking forward to sharing the dorm with someone’ He couldn’t tell if they were being sincere or just nice, but whatever the case he had to accept the answer. He wanted to believe they were being sincere.
‘Well then, mister Flamme, I leave you in the very capable hands of the Prefect. If you need anything please don’t be afraid to ask them. Behave’ The threat went unheard by the Prefect but not by its intended target. The swing between the chipper, arrogant Headmage and the powerful, threatening sorcerer was baffling to Rollo…and a little bit intimidating.
It occurred to him that maybe living so far away from the rest of the buildings on campus meant he could easily be disposed of if he angered the wrong people.
The Prefect seemed to sense his worry for they spoke in a calming manner ‘Ignore him, Crowley tends to not be a very attentive Headmage. In fact, most of the time I’m the one doing his job for him. Anyways, your bags are already inside, I can show you around so you can pick a room to settle for the night’ They led the way to the dorm, making amicable talk on the way. Mostly the Prefect asked about his trip, how he shouldn’t be afraid if he heard odd sounds since it was probably just the dorm’s ghosts playing some prank and how they would help him if he needed anything.
Rollo felt awkward, while he appreciated the Prefect’s kindness, he couldn’t help but feel much like he did back home: filthy and undeserving of their warmth, guilty.
It wasn’t fair.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rollo’s first night in Ramshackle was…….interesting, to put it mildly. First there was the loud familiar who kept demanding he bow to him “as the boss of the dorm” and whom the Prefect seemed to entertain. He considered bowing a little but quickly discarded the idea with a noticeable blush. He would feel ridiculous bowing to a familiar like that but he still chose to entertain the little creature to maintain some peace among them and also because the Prefect seemed fond of him.
So, Rollo crouched a little, looked Grim in the eyes intensely for a few seconds and then patted his head tenderly. The monster-cat didn’t wait a second to make his displeasure known, yelling ‘Ngyaaa! What’re you doing?! I am the Great Grim, you must treat me with respect! Not like some common cat!’ Rollo ignored him and kept petting him, hearing the purring underneath all the yelling and sensing the familiar moving his head closer to his hand. The Prefect stifled their giggling at the sight and rolled their eyes, probably used to this behavior by now.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Rollo smiled earnestly, basking in the warmth that spread in his heart.
If only the night had continued like that, maybe he would have been able to sleep. Instead, the Prefect showed him around, explaining that while most of the first floor and some of the second floor bedrooms were clean and ready to use, the dorm still needed quite some fixing.
‘The plumbing’s working though, so don’t worry about the water running cold. Heh I used to have to rush when I first got here because the hot water would come and go at random’ The Prefect shuddered for dramatic effect in an attempt to make him laugh and Rollo only felt pity. Stranded in this strange new and dangerous world, and the Headmage hadn’t seen fit to at least give them decent living accommodations? Dreadful. At least while he stays here, Rollo should try and help with the cleaning and repairing of the dorm, it’s the least he could do to reciprocate the Prefect’s kindness.
This thought remained in his mind until he finished showering and prepared to go to bed. Sitting on top of the comforter and staring at his hands, there was not a sound to be heard in the whole dorm, not even the creaking of the floors.
Rollo had avoided thinking too much about…well anything really, since his travel began. Yes he had grown used to the idea of studying in Night Raven but that didn’t really strain him much. No, what he had avoided thinking about was everything else.
His brother, playing with his magic and showing him all the tricks he had learned recently. ‘Look! I can make the light change colors!’ ‘Don’t worry, I can get the fruit from the top of the tree with a breeze! Watch out!’ ‘Please Rollo, tell me that story again. I love the way you tell it’
Yeshua running behind him, talking with Tristan and asking for his opinion of everything, be it student council related or not. ‘Should we remind the students that they need to talk with the teachers themselves if they will leave on vacations early?’ ‘Do you think the blue compliments my eyes? Or maybe I should go with the cerulean?’ ‘We were searching for a place to go eat with the rest of the student council, would you join us?’
The people of the city, welcoming him with big smiles and relying on him like a trusted friend. ‘Ah, Rollo! I saved you some croissants, I know they’re your favorite’ ‘There you are Rollo, I just received this package for Laurent, can you give it to him? He said he can’t visit the city until he’s done with his homework’ ‘Dear, would you lend me a hand? My feet are killing me and these bags are much too heavy for these weary old hands’
His breathing quickened with every memory, he felt as if his chest was constricted, heavy. It was impossible to get air into his lungs. He stood up and walked to the bathroom, still trying to control his breathing. He splashed water on his face and when that wasn’t enough he did it again and again and again.
He stared at his reflection in the mirror, a mess of tears and ragged breathing desperate for respite. He filled the sink with water and, taking one last look at himself, dunk his head in.
He remained there for as long as he could. Around ten seconds later he rose up and dove back in, this time remaining for a good twenty five seconds. He repeated the process until he was sure his breathing was back to normal.
He sat down on the cold tile floor and grabbed his head. These bouts of fear were becoming increasingly common and he didn’t know how to fix it, could barely contain them when they happened. Maybe he should stop thinking about the past. Seven know he won’t be getting anything good from reliving his failures.
After drying his face, he sat back on his bed and closed his eyes, trying to catch some sleep, or at least allow his eyes to rest some.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rollo’s first day of class was full of…how to put it? Exciting happenings.
First thing in the morning he was met with the Ramshackle ghosts the Prefect had mentioned the night prior.
They haunted some of his things to make noise and wake him with a jump but since he was warned of their little pranks, he sort of expected it. It didn’t help their attempt to prank him that he was already awake when they began haunting his furniture and bags.
As he stood there, toothbrush in his mouth, staring at them unimpressed, the ghosts semi-stopped their shenanigans and introduced themselves.
Rollo could tell by the tone of their voice that they were disappointed they couldn’t scare him and he felt slightly bad for them. Sure they were ghosts, and from what the Prefect had told him they were also prone to these sorts of tricks, but they had also said the ghosts cared for them a lot since they had given them so much support during their most uncertain times living here. So he relented a little and pretended to faint to make it seem like he had been processing the sight of actual ghosts.
They yelled in happiness, praising each other for their welcoming prank on the boy and then asked him about himself.
They reminded him of the gargoyles back in the belltower, annoyingly nosy and sentimental… he smiled as they told him to come to them if he ever needed someone to talk to. So similar…
The Bell was shining beautifully today, after Rollo’s careful cleaning. Just below, he could hear the gargoyles moving around, probably trying to predict when he’d come down so they could hound him with their incessant questions about his day, attempts to prank him and offers of games and idle chat.
Rollo had no time to entertain their childish conversation, he had to prepare study guides for the freshmen, discuss the schedules of the physical exams with the teachers for the students who had to leave early on holidays and he had to talk with the club leaders to see if there was anything they may need for the upcoming semester that may be harder to get into the budget.
‘Rollo! We were just thinking about how great it’d be if you joined us for a game!’ The gargoyles hopped around him, trying to show him the board game they had acquired -he had gotten it for them at their insistence- and which was their recent obsession seeing how little they had to do around the belltower.
‘I am afraid I have much to do right now, perhaps next time I can join you’ It was a blatant excuse, and one the gargoyles had heard a few times by now so they responded differently this once ‘But Rollo, you always say you’re busy and then you come back at night just to sit and stare pensive at the horizon. Why not play with us instead? Then maybe you won’t feel so overwhelmed at night’ … Since when were the gargoyles this perceptive?
Rollo sighed as he allowed the gargoyles to lead him to his seat. He already knew the game, it was the classic Life but with locations specific to the Shaftlands. Still, he said nothing as the gargoyles explained the rules and set the board.
They were so excited for a simple game they kind of reminded him of someone dear to him……… Sighing, Rollo threw the dice and moved his piece. He picked a card and again moved his piece.
The game continued like this, with the gargoyles trying to make him open up and him avoiding it with simple comments about his school life.
He could sense his defenses weakening, at some point once the board was all purchased and only three players remained, Rollo caught himself almost confessing to having trouble sleeping due to the guilt. Luckily he managed to shut up before the gargoyles could hear him, who knows what kind of sentimental talk they would give him if they knew he was feeling troubled.
Once the game was over he dusted his clothes, gave a small bow and thanked them for the game. Serious as ever, he made to leave when the gargoyle spoke ‘Rollo, I know you don’t think we can be of much help because we are made of stone and live here on the belltower, but sometimes all you need is someone to listen and we excel at listening, so please don’t forget we are here for you. And if you really don’t want us to listen, at least remember that there’s always someone who cares’
Rollo stood there for a few seconds and for a moment the gargoyles thought he would stay and share his burden with them, but soon that fantasy was shattered by his steps growing farther. Rollo would never admit it to the gargoyles directly but their words had given him something to think about.
When he heard the ghost’s laughter disappear down the stairs as they told the Prefect how much they liked this new student and the Prefect responded happy that they were getting along, he knew he made the right decision. Even if it cost him dirtying his clean shirt.
Going downstairs to meet with the Prefect and Grim, he noticed them staring at him while Grim eyed the uncooked food. Ah right, back during the symposium he was wearing the Noble Bell uniform, today he wore only the school pants and a white shirt since he hadn’t found the school jacket provided by the Headmage. Even so, Rollo felt a little self conscious, was his appearance that different without his robe? The Prefect kept glancing down to his torso and back to his face as if to make sure it was really him and he started to feel like covering up. He steeled his nerves and tried to match the Prefect’s stare. Soon their eyes were locked in a sort of unblinking game.
When their game lasted for a few seconds too long and Grim heard them giggle slightly, he yelled ‘Hey, henchman! You’re supposed to give him the jacked! Stop playing around! Hyeee!’ The monster-cat grabbed the jacket from their hands, startling them with the volume of the yell, and Rollo saw a little flush on their face. He didn’t have time to notice anything else as Grim handed him the jacked and demanded praise for being such a thoughtful boss.
Rollo looked at the cat, then at the Prefect who simply shrugged, and then back at Grim. With a little embarrassment, Rollo scratched Grim’s ears while muttering a small ‘Thank you, Grim sir’ that made the cat purr, although he pretended to be indignant at being treated like a cat. The Prefect once again commented how happy they were to see them all get along so well and Rollo felt proud at exceeding their expectations.
After sharing a nice breakfast with the Prefect and Grim, consisting of an egg omelet, accompanied by some toast, fruit and coffee, they were on their way to class.
On the way to the main building, the Prefect made good on their word of showing him around the campus so he could actually recognize the buildings he’d have to use for the rest of the year.
Rollo was impressed with the size of the campus now that he could appreciate it in its entirety.
He could understand why Night Raven College was considered such a prestigious school, seeing the quality of its infrastructure and knowing firsthand the proficiency of its students.
‘Anyways… uh… we have different classes since I’m a freshman and you’re a third year but if you need help getting to your next class, come find me. I have potionology with professor Crewel’ The Prefect gave him the directions to their classroom since Rollo didn’t have a phone to contact them in case they wanted to meet up. He repeated the instructions perfectly and headed to his classroom before the bell rang, bidding them a good day.
The class itself was easy enough, history of magic was a subject he didn’t struggle with (not that there was any subject he struggled with) and thankfully there were no group assignments for the time being. Still, he couldn’t help but feel…observed. While the teacher turned around to write on the board, Rollo made a quick survey of the room to try and figure out who was staring at him. Sure enough, he found him sitting just a few rows back.
Rook Hunt, one of the guests for the symposium. Rollo remembered him well enough, what with his extravagant speeches, cheerful disposition and that awful nickname he gave him. He wasn’t sure what to make of him underneath all of that, but he got the feeling he was more dangerous than he seemed, especially with the way his gleaming eyes didn't match his smile.
Rollo gulped, worrying that he would get in trouble so soon. He could endure the rejection and even hatred he may get from the students here, after all he didn’t really have any attachments to them, but he would rather not make more enemies if that would cause trouble for the Prefect as well.
When class ended, Rollo grabbed his things and left to find the Prefect immediately, not wanting to risk a conversation with the blonde.
He found the Prefect laughing at a heated argument between two boys about who’s fault it was that their potion took so long to work.
‘I’m telling ya it was all Juice’s fault! He kept stirring way too slow!’ The redhead boy signaled to a blue-haired one who seemed to take issue with his statement.
‘I was stirring at the right speed! You just told me to stir in the wrong direction because you never read the instructions Ace!’ Rollo realized then that these must be the Prefect’s friends, Ace and… Juice? He couldn’t quite remember what his name was but he felt somewhat certain that it wasn’t Juice, maybe it was a nickname? The people of Night Rave College seem to be rather fond of those.
‘Boy ‘m I glad that I don’ have to partner up with either of them’ The Felmier boy said crossing his arms behind his head. The Prefect nodded in agreement and then noticed him standing there, awkwardly.
‘Rollo! Do you need help getting to your next class?’ The Prefect’s voice cut the chatter and at once all eyes were on him. The air grew tense once the boys realized he was here.
Ace and Deuce exchanged looks while Epel took a step in front of the Prefect. They all looked ready to fight, he better diffuse the situation before something bad happens to them ‘I didn’t mean to interrupt but I do not know where the classroom for my’ He checked his schedule ‘“Ancient Curses” class is located’
‘Oh, Leona and Rook have the same schedule I think, come on I know where it is’ They tried to tell their friends to go ahead to class without them but the trio refused, claiming that they wanted to keep talking. Rollo knew they were keeping an eye on him.
Good, at least they cared for their friend.
Once the second class was over, the bell rang and Rollo made his way to the cafeteria as per the Prefect’s instructions. He should thank them, their instructions were very clear and succinct so he could remember them easily.
As he entered the cafeteria, he started looking around for the Prefect, not wanting to share a table with some unknown person or worse, a known person.
After scanning the place for a couple of minutes, he saw them enter the cafeteria with several friends from the other side and took long strides to reach them before they picked a table. With any luck, they could sit by a window in a far away corner.
‘Rollo! Good to see you didn’t get lost, I was a bit worried my instructions were confusing’ The Prefect scratched the back of their head and their friend, Ace, imitated them in a mocking manner. A big muscular boy rolled his eyes at his antics and the other boy, Zigvolt, ignored them both in favor of staring at him.
‘Not at all, in fact your instructions were clear enough that I got here earlier than my classmates’ He motioned for them to sit on a nearby table, away from the others and the group of freshmen complied without fuss though still with some tension in the air.
As Rollo sat beside the Prefect, the other boys picked their places around the table. Spade, Felmier and Zigvolt sat together across from him while the wolfman and Ace sat on the other side of the Prefect. Grim took the Prefect’s lap as expected.
‘We better get some food, yo Prefect, come with me Juice is too prone to mess up the orders with his indecision’ Ace grabbed the Prefect by the arm and forced them to go along before they could even answer.
Sitting in front of him, Juice? Spade muttered ‘That happened once’ in an annoyed voice.
Rollo had known these kids for all of ten minutes combined and already he could gather what their group dynamic was.
‘So…how’re you liking your classes? I hear you had professor Trein for first period’ Spade made the first move and Rollo was thankful he chose such a neutral subject.
‘It was quite enriching. Professor Trein has vast knowledge and a commanding presence so paying attention to him was no problem’ Both Spade and Felmier looked at him like he had grown two heads, well that couldn’t be good ‘Did I say something wrong?’
The question seemed to awaken them as Felmier spoke up ‘Ah no it’s just- normally people complain that Trein’s classes are boring but they can’t sleep through them because he likes calling out misbehaving students. I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised though, you seem like the studious type’ While Rollo took it as a compliment, he felt slightly offended by the arrogant smile the boy was giving him.
‘Really it’s just them, most people go to class hoping to learn but these two and Ace like to cause trouble, so take whatever they say about the professors with a grain of salt’ The wolfman spoke so suddenly Rollo had almost forgotten he was there since unlike Zigvolt he wasn’t staring at him like he wanted to murder him.
‘Wha- Jack, that’s not true! We pay attention to class, it’s just hard because Trein speaks very slowly and Lucius makes so much noise too it makes it hard to pay attention’ Spade clearly didn’t like being called unattentive by his friend, meanwhile Felmier added in ‘And we aren’t as troublesome as Ace! If anything, you’re talking about Grim! Those two are the real troublemakers of this group’ He seemed to fully stand by his words with how he puffed out his chest.
He deflated as soon as he noticed Ace had returned with the trays of food and was threatening to not give him his unless he apologized for blaming him for their shenanigans.
‘I don’t cause trouble! It’s you two and Grim who can’t keep up with me and my awesome ideas! If you did, then all my plans would work just fine and nobody’d get in trouble’
Naturally the boys began arguing on whether he was right or wrong, with Felmier and Spade mostly defending that he was the major contributor to the chaos amongst them ‘And what do you mean we can’t keep up?! We got our Unique Magic before you, if anything it’s you who can’t keep up at all!’ They kept arguing for a little longer until the Prefect finally spoke ‘GUYS!’ They all looked baffled at them ‘Please quiet down, we’re gonna get in trouble and I really want to make Rollo’s first day here better than mine’ They gave Spade and Ace a look which made them blush brightly as they stuttered shut.
Once Felmier and Spade relented, Ace plopped down next to the Prefect and gave him a curious look ‘Say, I heard from Juice and the others that you were a big deal back in your old school, so how come you didn’t enroll here to begin with?’ His bluntness was surprisingly refreshing after all the strange looks and veiled intentions he had gotten so far.
‘I chose Noble Bell College because of its history. While you all may be proud to be students here, I was proud to be there. The City of Flowers is- was my home, and I was honored to be accepted there. I can only guess it was that disposition that made me ineligible for Night Raven College since the election process is a mystery to all but the Headmage’ Rollo started slicing the steak the Prefect had gotten for him and noticed the rest of the table’s attention was still on him so he tried to say something else so they would go back to their conversations ‘Also I wasn’t a big deal, anyone can become the student council president with enough dedication since the position is for those willing to be responsible and dutiful to the school and its students’ To his dismay, his words had the opposite effect.
‘That’s right! You were the student council president! So that means you probably were an honors student, right? Can you tell me about that? I want to be an honors student myself’ Spade raised his fist in determination and Rollo didn’t know how to answer. He just wanted to eat his steak in silence and pretend he was back at the belltower.
He looked at Spade, trying to figure if he was being polite in asking more things or if he was honest in his goals. Feeling the rest of the boys awaiting for his answer, he spoke ‘Um…well…uh…studying is the hard part I suppose, but if you can pay attention during class then reviewing your notes becomes much easier’ Both Spade and Felmier scooted a bit closer to hear him better in the growing noise of the cafeteria.
‘Some people will tell you to highlight the important information but that’s futile if you think everything is important. Instead you should rewrite your notes in a way you understand and then make a brief summary of the things you struggle to understand so you can ask your classmates or teachers about it’ The way he launched into his helpful senior student self was like a switch had been flipped, so used he was to aiding his own classmates with their studies and questions.
By the time the cafeteria was clearing out a bit, Epel, Deuce and even Sebek were happily telling him about some of their own tips for studying their favorite subjects. Ace looked at the Prefect confused while they simply shrugged and kept cutting pieces of their meal before Grim swallowed their unattended tray.
As it was, lunch would have been perfect if those were the only noteworthy events of the evening, but of course the animated table was interrupted by someone joining out of nowhere.
‘Roi du Mouchoir! I am so glad to finally find you! And with Monsieur Pommette of all people!’ Rook Hunt was standing right behind the Prefect, looking at him with a big smile and an unsaid threat in his eyes. At once Rollo felt his temperature drop but remained impassive as the Prefect welcomed the blonde to join them on the table.
‘Why were you looking for Rollo, Rook?’ Epel asked in between bites of his steak. Hunt sat beside him and praised his poise while eating, much to the boy’s dismay or was it embarrassment?
‘Oh I simply wanted to talk, see I noticed him during our history of magic class and tried to approach him when it ended but he left so fast I couldn’t catch up’ He gave a small pout that fooled absolutely no one here, they all knew if he wanted to catch someone like Rollo he was perfectly capable of doing so even if he disappeared from his sight.
‘I needed the Prefect to help me with something. At any rate, whatever you wanted to talk about, I hope you don’t mind the Prefect and their friends listening now’ Rollo wasn’t sure what to expect from this boy. On the one hand he was clearly well trained and powerful enough to be a vice housewarden, on the other hand he seemed to be friendly back when they first met and now too the Prefect wasn’t giving any indication that they worried about this interaction. Maybe he was just assessing him?
‘Oh! Just wanted to see how you are adapting to the school, I know when I transferred from Savanaclaw to Pomefiore I experienced such a noticeable change in atmosphere and that was within the same school, I can only imagine how different things are here compared to Noble Bell College’ Rollo was right, he was assessing him. Hunt kept looking at him with a friendly face but he could feel the faintest aura of danger emanating from the eccentric boy.
‘So far everything is good, professor Trein gave a wonderful class and I think I learned quite a bit in Ancient Curses. The students haven’t given me any trouble either…yet, and I hope it remains that way. I have no desire to make enemies nor cause any problems for the Prefect with my issues’ The Prefect tried to say that it was no problem but everybody at the table silenced them by saying some form of ‘You already have enough on your plate’. Heh, it was cute how they all cared so aggressively for each other.
Rollo and Hunt maintained eye contact, unblinking. But unlike with the Prefect that morning, this wasn’t lighthearted, oh no, this was a test. Rollo couldn’t look away or Hunt would think him suspicious or insincere. They kept staring without saying a word until the freshmen realized what was going on.
‘Rook…I think you should leave this to us’ Felmier spoke softly to his dormmate ‘We actually have been talking to Rollo and…um I think he’s alright. Even Sebek has been giving him a chance and we’ve learned some neat things from him. So please don’t be so hard on him, let’s give him a chance to show us how he’s changed’ His words made Hunt look at him in surprise.
‘Oh Monsieur Pommette! Your words are so full of kindness and wisdom! I am so proud of you and I’m sure fair Vil will be as well!’ His laughter made the boy blush with a queasy smile, probably happy to make his senior proud ‘Very well, I will leave you alone for now, but Roi du Mouchoir’ Rollo was getting dizzy from all these sudden mood changes, so he just looked at Hunt with a raised brow ‘Please, do talk to me in class, I will be more than glad to partner up with you in any group projects’ Once again Rollo felt a vague threat emanating from the blonde’s high yet dry tone. Was everybody at this school so weird?
The last period confirmed that indeed, everyone at this school was very weird.
They were to have lab class with the students from class E, which on paper seemed alright, more students meant he was less likely to be paired with Hunt. But then he was actually paired with Trey Clover and all his hopes of having any semblance of a quiet, normal school year went out the window.
At first he introduced himself politely, shaking his hand and welcoming him to Night Raven College, and Rollo felt nothing wrong with this. His attention at first had been grabbed by the intense staring he felt from somewhere in the room.
He turned around to find Hunt working happily with some student from…Octavinelle? So he kept searching but the presence disappeared. Strange.
‘Are you alright? If you need to see the nurse I can take you’ Clover seemed reliable enough so Rollo apologized and got to work on the potion as per the chalkboard’s instructions.
While they worked, Trey made polite conversation to get to know him better. It felt utterly fake, like he would rather be partnered with anyone else but him, but Rollo understood the feeling so he didn’t hold it against him.
Then he felt it again. That stare. He turned around and saw nothing out of the ordinary, but he could still feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing. Who was staring at him so intently?
He must have said it out loud because Clover actually answered ‘Sometimes Lilia likes staring at people, I swear he can be even sneakier than Rook’ Lilia? As in Lilia Vanrouge, the vice housewarden of Malleus Draconia? Well, that would explain two things.
‘I see, he must not be happy having me here after what happened’ Rollo still wasn’t sure how much people knew about his actions but he would rather play it safe, no use in exposing himself like that on his first day.
‘Don’t be silly, I am very happy I can meet the boy who helped my boys grow a stronger bond’ When did he get here?! Rollo jumped back with the spoon on his hands, completely startled by the short boy standing upside down beside him.
‘Lilia please don’t do that, he could’ve ruined our potion and this mixture is very volatile’ Clover’s chiding tone was very gentle, like a parent explaining to a toddler why they can’t bite something dangerous. How could someone so normal handle such bizarre situations so easily? Was this just a side effect of studying here, developing mechanisms to deal with the strange?
‘Kee hee, sorry Trey. I just wanted to see the new student Malleus spoke so passionately about. He had a lot of opinions about you transferring here you know’ Of that Rollo had no doubt, but so far he had managed to avoid Draconia and he hoped he would keep it that way for the next few days or weeks if he could ‘But don’t worry, the Prefect made him promise he’d be nice so long as you’re nice’ The boy disappeared and reappeared beside him, standing on the ground this time.
He was handing him his hand to shake, Rollo took it tentatively. ‘Oh ho, don’t be so shy now. I feel like we know each other so well already! Me with all these stories I hear about your doings during the symposium and you with all the hits you took from my boys~ Oh and the singing! I hope you liked the song. I showed it to Malleus so they could sing it as a present’ His smile was childish but his voice and demeanor betrayed his experience. Rollo wasn’t sure where Night Raven got all these walking contradictions but he supposed the Headmage must have a knack for selecting students similar to himself in that regard.
Rollo was half tempted to retort something smart back to the odd little man but just as quickly as he had come, he went back to his station. Sigh he better focus on the potion before it explodes. He really doesn’t want to get detention on his first day here, the day has been exhausting as is.
He followed Clover’s advice for a while until he noticed the potion changed color, it shouldn’t do that yet. He checked the ingredients they had added and sure enough, they had added a couple in the wrong order. Nothing too terrible for this potion but precision was important in alchemy for a reason: plenty of potions did change drastically if the ingredients weren't added in a certain order.
He was about to signal to Clover to come over so they would start stirring slower to account for this change when he saw the ghost of a smug smile on his face. Was this another test? Why was he smiling like that? Did he do something wrong or right? Rollo felt a headache incoming from all the overthinking he had done today. Class couldn’t be over soon enough.
‘Ah, Clover we are ready to start stirring, although we seem to have added some ingredients in the wrong order, so we should start slowly to account for that lest the potion explodes’ Clover’s eyes crinkled happily and Rollo knew then that indeed, this was a test. Great. Even the normal students had something suspicious about them. Now he almost feels offended at the Headmage saying he’d fit right in.
They finished the potion without fuss and the professor acknowledged their clean work, allowing them to leave early so long as they cleaned their space. With the practiced hand he acquired from helping maintain the school grounds and the belltower in Noble Bell, Rollo was done in a few moments. Clover didn’t have time to be impressed as just a second later, Rollo left for Ramshackle.
He needed a quick bite, a shower and to sleep for a thousand nights.
Once again night came and with it Rollo’s ugly thoughts came chasing him in his dreams. He couldn’t run fast enough, he couldn’t leap far enough. No matter what he did, there was no way of reaching his brother.
The flames engulfed everything, from the floor to the ceiling. Rollo tried to crawl through them, he knew he could he just had to use his Unique Magic. ‘Crimson flower, scorch my soul-’ It was futile, he couldn't feel the well of magic within. He was empty, completely devoid of magic.
There was no way to save him. But he had to try. Rollo kept crawling closer, the flames growing hotter every second. Soon he would feel the same pain his brother felt, at least this time he wouldn't abandon him.
‘ROLLO!’ He was jerked awake by the warm hand of the Prefect. Rollo looked at them perplexed, it was a dream? He scrubbed the sleep from his eyes and with it the tears that had fallen in his sleep. Oh. He must have made the Prefect worry if they could tell he was having a nightmare.
‘I’m sorry for waking you, Prefect. Please don’t worry about me, you should go back to sleep’ He tried to sound convincing but his voice had that tremor it did whenever he was about to panic. The Prefect sat by the end of his bed hesitatingly, afraid they may be imposing.
‘When I told you I was here for you, I meant it, not just for the academic stuff’ Their voice was soft and quiet but carried so much weight in the silent space between them he felt compelled to scoot closer. ‘If there’s anything you need to talk about, chances are I can help you…I’ve been through my fair share of bad times myself…’ They left him a choice. He could run like he had done for these past few months- no, for the better part of his life since his brother died. Or he could confide in the Prefect
‘There's always someone who cares’ The gargoyle’s resigned voice rang behind his head.
‘Maybe we would manage to reach out to you... it seems you’re not ready yet Rollo’ Yeshua and Tristan whispered at each side of him, eyes pleading for an opening.
‘It’s not your brother or the world you want to save...it’s just yourself’ Idia Shroud’s voice echoed loudest, dispassionate yet truthful, heavy with the sentence of someone who understands far better than anyone should be able to.
‘I just- I don’t know what’s happening to me’ For the first time in forever, Rollo allowed himself to be vulnerable without putting up a fight. All these years he had built his carefully placed walls, hoping to keep the pain outside. Instead all he had done was lock himself in with all of it and no way to ask for help. It was time to stop.
The Prefect cradled him on their chest carefully, rubbing his back in soothing circles and whispering reassurances that he could speak whenever he felt ready. He was crying uncontrollably and he hadn’t even noticed until he felt the dampened shirt of his dormmate.
They stayed like that for what felt like hours until Rollo could not cry anymore. He felt lighter if a bit embarrassed. Sniffing, he pulled back and looked at them with a thankful nod. He needed a second to recollect himself.
‘.........I feel guilty that I couldn’t save my brother. I was the older brother and it was my duty to protect him……if only I had gotten my magic sooner-’ ‘Don’t do that’ The interruption took him by surprise ‘Blaming yourself like that, that’s a sure way of driving yourself crazy’ They grabbed his hand and made him stand up.
Near the window, Rollo saw the dim light of the moon ‘We can’t change what’s in the past, but we can choose how those events affect us into the future…how we remember the people we lost’ Their hand squeezed his reassuringly when it trembled ‘You have to decide: do you want to remember him as he was on his last moments? Scared and in pain? Or as he was the rest of the time? As the person you loved so dearly?’ Their words sounded so much like Shroud’s, not just in what they meant but in how their voice had this faint tremor, some barely contained emotion. The Prefect knew what he was feeling, they had lost someone too. Slowly he turned his head to look at them and sure enough they were crying too now.
What a sight they must be, two newly dormmates crying in a dark room in the earliest hours of a saturday morning. Instinctively he draped his arms around their shoulders and pulled them against his chest like they had done earlier, tucking their head under his chin. ‘Thank you’ His breathing was calm, the calmest it had been since the symposium. Equally the Prefect’s breathing slowed down until it evened out completely. Rollo looked down to see them dozing off.
He held his chuckle and brought them to his bed. He tucked them in and sat next to them on top of the covers, waiting for sleep to claim him.
Come morning he would wake up to the Prefect hugging him like a stuffed bear and Grim complaining about him stealing his minion, but for now he enjoyed a good night’s sleep before the chaos of another day at Night Raven College.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was nearing the end of Rollo’s first week on Ramshackle and things admittedly seemed far better than he expected at first. In just these few days he had ‘squirmed his way in’ into the Prefect’s friend group (according to Ace) by inadvertently joining them on their shenanigans, he got to assist the Prefect in cooking during the weekend and enjoyed exploring the grounds along with the freshmen. He even got to work with Hunt for a class project which gave them great results. All in all, his week had been full of excitement.
Yes, some students had been naturally suspicious of him upon meeting him (the housewardens in particular had been prone to interrupting his time with the Prefect for the most random reasons), but he supposed those feelings came from the retellings of what happened during the symposium. And even if they didn’t know, he couldn’t exactly blame them, what with how unapproachable he seemed (or so the Prefect told him on a few occasions) and the strangeness of his transfer.
There was the difficulty of how different the schools were, for sure. Noble Bell was full of tradition, with the students following it dutifully and gladly, while Night Raven College was more…innovative. There was tradition as well, certainly but in general the students seemed eager to break the mold and stand out in their uniqueness. Rollo wasn’t used to that.
But in all, his assessment of the school was positive. Maybe Headmage Tirmont had been right in sending him here.
These thoughts occupied his mind as he tossed and turned around on his bed. The clock of his room indicated the hour to be 2 AM. He turned around on his bed again and tried to close his eyes, to force himself to sleep but no matter how long he kept them shut, it didn’t work. For some reason tonight he couldn’t drift into unconsciousness. He blamed the heat wave and the dorm’s poor insulation.
Deciding to not waste his time getting annoyed at his lack of sleep, and fearing another bout of anxiety if he remained stirring in his thoughts, he got up and wandered out to go grab a glass of water. Maybe that would cool him enough to get some restless sleep at least.
Walking on the hallway to the first floor, he noticed a faint light coming from one of the unused rooms. Odd.
Curiosity piqued, he grabbed the knob and silently opened the door. While he expected the ghosts to be doing something here, he was instead met by the Prefect, shrimp-pajamas covered by a white coat, painting on a big canvas. Far bigger than the one in their room.
They hadn’t noticed him yet, so he debated for a second whether to let them be or approach and inquire about the unknown flower in the canvas. He took a look at the Prefect’s hands stained in purplish-blue and white paint, their clothes equally colorful and a second later he caught the sound of humming. A song.
As it was more and more common for him, Rollo felt like in a trance as he walked closer until the Prefect noticed his presence.
‘Oh! I’m sorry, did I wake you?’ Ever caring, they were more worried about his comfort than their own. How cute.
Rollo didn’t reply, instead bringing a thumb to their cheek and smearing some of the purplish-blue paint on it as he tried to clean them. Their eyes widened while his intense stare remained on their face and from this close he could notice so much more about his dormmate than he had in the days prior. The way their breath caught making the smallest gasping sound, the way their mouth opened just a little bit as if unsure of what to say, the way their face heated up to the tip of their ears.
Wait what
‘Prefect, you’re warm. Are you alright?’ That seemed to raise their temperature even more, to the point where he placed his hand on their forehead to make sure they didn’t have a fever. The Prefect squealed and quickly turned around. ‘I’m fine! I’m fine! Just forgot to open the windows!’ Rollo looked around the room and noticed that indeed the windows were closed and with how hot it was tonight, that just wouldn’t do.
He gave them some space while he went to open the two windows in the room before returning his attention to the Prefect.
‘What is the name of the song you were humming? If I may ask. It didn’t sound familiar’ Rollo had learned in these past few days that while the Prefect could make people open up surprisingly easily, they themselves didn’t share much about their own life. Probably to avoid growing nostalgic for their home, so he didn’t know exactly what the boundaries were for asking personal questions yet. He still felt as if the moment they shared the other night had been a dream, knowing something about them that no one else knew made him feel special.
‘Uh, it's a song from a movie I used to watch, the song is called “my favorite things”, it was very popular to sing it for kids on certain holidays’ They eyed their supplies searching for something or maybe deciding how to proceed with the painting. Rollo didn’t know too much about painting, but he knew this one was coming out beautiful.
Once they picked a smaller brush and dipped it in paint, Rollo walked closer trying to see if he could recognize the flowers from this distance. He couldn’t.
‘Are those flowers from your world too?’ His voice came out soft and subdued, barely hearable but they answered anyways ‘Oh yeah, they’re called jacarandas. I haven’t seen any of them here, even in the books from the library, so I figured maybe they don’t exist here? So I chose to paint them before I forget what they looked like. What do you think?’ Their voice was happy on the surface but Rollo detected something under that, a tinge of sadness that stroke his heart.
‘I think they are beautiful’ His eyes traced every line, every petal and trunk and came to the conclusion that, if the Prefect’s painting was a fraction of accurate to the real thing then the flowers must be a sight to behold.
‘I think so too, there are some in pink and white that also are very pretty but I prefer these purple ones’ Their smile grew just the littlest bit and Rollo could tell that the sadness was subsiding. Good, Rollo wasn’t opposed to consoling the Prefect but he much rather preferred to make sure they don’t cry to begin with.
‘Anyways, I’m sorry I woke you up Rollo, I didn’t think my humming and painting would make that much noise. I guess since Grim is such a heavy sleeper and the ghosts have never mentioned this, I assumed I was in the clear’ Rollo saw them clean the brushes as if to finish painting for the night. He didn’t know why but he wanted to keep watching, to keep talking about their world and bask in this quiet moment of intimacy and trust just between the two of them.
‘Please don’t stop on my behalf. I couldn’t sleep on account of my room being so hot so I wandered here for a glass of water. In fact, I am sorry for intruding on you like this’ The Prefect stopped their movements and looked at him, a little taken aback by his apology. They let out a snort that confused Rollo. Usually that reaction was directed at Grim or the freshmen.
‘Oh don’t worry about it, if I wanted to keep my painting private I would’ve locked the door. But it’s good to know I didn’t wake you’ They smiled again, their hand hovering over the brushes hesitantly. Rollo wondered if he could make them smile again. ‘Do you mind if I keep painting then? You don’t have to stay-’
‘I would love to’ Soon as he realized how fast he spoke, his face grew red with embarrassment while the Prefect tried, and failed, to suppress their laughter. Well, it's good to know that his embarrassment can make them smile at least, not that he hadn’t realized that by now with how thoroughly Ace and Epel liked to tease him.
‘Would you consider teaching me how to paint, Prefect?’ Rollo’s question clearly took them by surprise seeing how they almost dropped their brush and did a double take. ‘I have seen some of the paintings in your room, sceneries and people I don’t recognize, I presume they are from your world’ They nodded their head, still looking at him shocked ‘I would like to try that…to paint my home so that I may keep it with me’
The Prefect gave him a look of understanding, they both looked to the floor in thought. They both missed home, and while Rollo knew that he could go back one day, the reality was that neither knew what tomorrow would bring. Crowley may never find a way back home for the Prefect, Rollo may die before he sets foot on the City of Flowers again…
Before any dark thoughts took over their minds, the Prefect spoke again ‘I myself am not the greatest artist out there, but if that’s alright with you then I’d love to teach you what I know’
Rollo smiled genuinely at them and they returned it twice as bright.
The Prefect kept painting and making idle chat for a few more minutes until they came to a relaxing silence. It was nice, having a moment of quiet not be interrupted by talking cats, loud freshmen or paranoid housewardens. Rollo allowed himself to enjoy the moment like he had began to enjoy his stay at Night Raven, remembering how even in Noble Bell he often felt something else under the happiness or relaxation, always some underlying anger at the magic around him, some hatred for his classmates’ carefree use of magic, guilt at himself for depending on it just the littlest bit, always something to rot those memories.
Now, standing here with the Prefect, all he could feel was calm and happy. Sure he missed his home, he missed his family and he missed his classmates, but the Prefect had made such an effort to make him feel welcome here, and even their noisy friends were doing their best to include him in their shenanigans, much to his despair.
In the quiet of the night, accompanied only by the sound of the brush against the canvas and each other’s breathing, Rollo realized that they could choose to make home here. The Prefect had made a family with Grim, the ghosts and the freshmen, always making each other laugh, studying together, causing problems for each other and then trying to solve them as a team… Rollo felt like maybe, just maybe, he could also join that little family. He wanted to have a family again.
He opened his mouth to say as much when the ghosts decided now was the perfect time to annoy them ‘Ohhhh look at this~ Rollo and the Prefect are having a little night date~’ ‘Oh ho ho Rollo~ and here I thought you were a gentleman, how scandalous!’ ‘You better treat them right, Rollo. Or we will haunt you every night until you graduate hehehe’ The Prefect and Rollo looked at each other, faces flushed from their teasing, and upon realizing how close they were they jumped apart several meters.
‘Awww look at how red they are! We were just trying to tease you but maybe we’re right, hmm? Do you have something to tell us Rollo? Hee hee hee’ As the ghosts flew around them, making more teasing comments, Rollo covered his face with his hand and the Prefect grabbed his other hand to drag him back to the dorms. Once there, they let go and gave him one last look, still flushed, and wished him a good night with a peck on the cheek.
Rollo, stunned from the affection, remained there completely unmoving even as the ghosts came back to tease him some more and made joking threats of telling about this to the freshmen, who would no doubt tease him about it too.
Needless to say, he was in no way getting any sleep soon, but at least now he knew. Transferring to Night Raven College, to Ramshackle Dorm, was the best decision Headmage Tirmont could have made for him.

Decisions part 5 of ?
TWs: grief.
You reach Camelot and it's excruciating. Merlin is transporting Arthur and Saraah's corpses, you feel numb while you walk up to the castle. Empty, ears full of cotton, mind slow, unresponsive. You can't manage to focus on anything you see or hear as you walk.
You gave order to the city guard to keep the major streets empty, but the population must know something is deeply wrong.
This was Arthur's vision. You were always supposed to be a mere weapon to achieve that not... You robbed Camelot of its King. You robbed Mordred of his closest person, his carer and confidant.
When Mordred descends the set of stairs your husband once did, as he welcomed you to Camelot, his eyes are filled with unleashed tears, a frightening blackness to them. He sees Merlin, he sees Arthur's covered body, he sees you and he throws himself at your chest. Much like he did ten years ago, he buries in your arms, as if he could hide from the world.
As if you could soothe all his pain.
But you caused this, Arthur is dead because of you, BECAUSE OF YOU-
"I dreamed of it," he whispers, brokenly. You stiffen. He saw Arthur's death. "They had just both..."
His voice closes ofr, chocking him. You don't think there's anything that you could say to alleviate his pain. So you just hold him as he sobs and shakes, holding yourself together just for this. Because, even if every other part of you is shutting down quickly, you need to be strong enough to be there for him.
You spend the rest of the day together with Mordred, wrapped up in one of Arthur's capes, holding him as he alternates crying to frighteningly long hours of staring blankly at the wall. Even when he buries his face in your chest, there is a horrible lak of vitality in his very sluggish movements.
He grieves.
--
You are just entering in the great hall, the next day, when a Guard comes walking in hurried step toeards you. Mordred, by your side - you had with a lot of difficulty managed to bring him here to eat something - stiffens. You shift slightly in front of him, shielding him while taking most of the woman's attention.
"Your Highness, both the search parties we sent in search of... the King," she swallows, eyes darting downward, "never returned."
"Who was sent?" Mordred asks before you can sign, and you note a spike of dread filling his voice. The dread pools into your stomach too when you hear what she has to say.
"Ser Bedivere, Ser Tristan, Ser Ector, Ser Gawain and Ser Kai."

Letting out a yawn you stretched and rolled over, grabbing ahold of your phone as another message alert rang out. Thanks to the constant back and forth from the people in your friend group, specifically two people, you were up earlier than you would have loved on your day off. Unlocking your phone, you quickly scanned your messages and rolled your eyes, what was supposed to be a conversation about what you were all doing for the day ended up with some back and forth between Tristan and Joey, who ignored what others were saying to them. Typical as always.
Letting out a sigh, you pulled the covers back and got out of bed. You needed to freshen up for the day and no doubt you’d be done before a plan was made. After selecting your outfit and placing it to the side, you grabbed everything you needed and made your way to the bathroom. Turning on the taps for your bath. Warm began to fill the air as the mirror up from your sink started to steam over, causing your reflection to slowly distort. For the past few days, your dreams had been normal, nothing out of the ordinary and for that you were thankful. You didn’t think you’d be able to handle any more.
Shutting the water off, you stripped out of your bedclothes and slowly stepped into the bath, letting out a content sigh as the water wrapped around you. If it was one thing you loved about being at home after a long week, it was your bath. Sure, showers proved useful but sometimes all you wanted to do is relax. Slipping down a little, you rested your head against the edge of the bath and closed your eyes for a moment. Enjoying the calmness.
Soft chatter died down as a door was shut, a lone figure sighing out as they leaned against it. The day has been as long as it has been busy and the Queen was ready to relax with a bath. Pushing off the door, the young woman walked forward and glanced around, smiling softly at the various items left on the side for her. Lifting her hands, she pushed the straps of her outfit down off her shoulders and allowed the garment to fall to the floor, pooling around her feet. Stepping out, the Queen bent over and picked it up, placing it to the side as she took off some of her jewellery, the bigger items being laid gently to the side, smaller items being kept on her figure.
When she was bare, she stepped forward and slowly walked into the large pool, the cool water a welcoming feeling on her warm skin. With all the madness going on in the palace, times like this felt like a breath of fresh air, especially when she already felt out of place. Stepping further into the pool, the young Queen took a breath and held it, plunging herself underneath for a few seconds before emerging and wiping her eyes. Repeating the process a few times before she was satisfied with how much she had cooled down. Looking around, she turned her body and moved gently towards the side, sitting down on the steps that she walked down. Unaware of the eyes that watched her closely.
She didn’t know how long she’d been sitting there in her own world, tuned out of everything around her, as the feeling of the water shifting beside her made her look. Letting out a small yelp of surprise, she pushed the shoulder of the other person and smiled, lying her head on the place she pushed a few seconds earlier. “I was wondering how long it would have been before you joined me, my love”.
Looking up, she saw the visible tiredness on the male's face and sighed softly. She hated seeing him so worn out, he needed a break as much as the next person. Of course, he had things he had to attend to, being the Pharaoh meant he had duties, a lot of them but he needed time off now and then. Sitting forward, she shifted herself so she knelt behind him, hands rubbing small circles across his back as she felt him relax. “That’s it, feels so great am I right?”.
Leaning over his shoulder she looked at him and smiled, placing a small kiss on his cheek before moving back to what she was doing. The feeling of him relaxing more made her smile humming softly as she continued for a few more minutes, moving to sit by his side when she was finished. The two of them sat in comfortable silence for a moment.
The water began to move as the young Queen turned her head, tilting it as she watched what her husband was doing. In a second he was behind her, hands resting on her hips as he pulled her close to him. Looking to the side, she opened her mouth to speak before giggling at the look she saw. A look that only she got to see made itself known on his features before disappearing as he lowered his head to the nape of her neck. “You know, (e/n), I could think of better ways to relax or ways you could put those fingers of yours to use”.
The heat she felt creep across her face was similar to the hot days Ra provided. They’d been married for a good while now but he still made her blush with the words he spoke to her when they were alone. The feeling of fingers slowly trailing over her skin made her shiver, biting back a small moan when his touches moved lower. The Pharaoh would be her undoing, making her fall apart as she lost her mind to the throes of pleasure, bringing her back to earth with a crash when it was all over, and right now, this was no different. “Here of all places, ———?”.
Looking as best as she could, she saw the desire in his eyes before their positions changed, her new perch being the bare lap of her husband as she felt just how much he wanted her. His eagerness was hard to hide. Fingers moved further down her body slowly moving along her slit, threatening to slip into her core at any point, his other hand reaching up to cup her breast, pinching her nipple. The chuckle that echoed at her moans made her push herself closer to her other half. “I think we both know we’d never make it back to our chambers before I took you again today, besides~”.
The hand on her chest moved, causing a small whimper to sound before she felt her face being cupped slightly. Forced to look into amethyst-coloured eyes, the Queen tried her hardest to resist the building desire in her gut. They’d already been close to each other earlier in the day before they were both caught up in their duties. A loud moan sounded as fingers pushed past her lower lips, slipping into her throbbing core. “~I heard water makes for good pleasure. I guess we should try it”.
Opening your eyes you sat up and panted, some water splashing on the floor as you breathed heavily. Looking around you saw you were alone, your heart beating erratically as you tried to calm down. Of all the visions, dreams, whatever you wanted to call them at this point, this one felt the most real. The touches, the voices everything felt so real. Looking down at your body, you could still make out the trail the fingers took before blushing slightly, shaking your head to rid yourself of those thoughts. “I’m losing it”.
Deciding it was best to get out you pulled the plug and stepped out of the water, wrapping a towel around you. You had to get out of your bathroom, even if it was for a minute to gather yourself before you set foot back inside. Walking out to your bedroom you reached your bed and grabbed your phone, seeing a few tags in your group chat asking if the plans were okay with you. Tapping out a quick reply that said anything was fine with you, you sent another letting them know to go ahead you’d catch up.
Placing your phone down you took a moment to sigh out, trying to think of anything else other than what had just happened. As you turned around and began to walk back towards the room you had come from, the sound of your phone pinging again several times caught your attention. Part of you told you to ignore it, it was just the group chat but another part of you willed you to check it out. Listening to that half, you walked back to your bed and grabbed your phone only to see several messages from Yugi.
Tilting your head in confusion, you unlocked your phone and read through what he had sent.
Starfish:
Hey (y/n), before you go and meet the gang, can you stop by mine?
We’ll go and meet them together, plus I have something I need to ask you!
You’re the only one who can help in this situation.
Blinking a few times, you reread over the message a couple of times, seemed a bit out of the ordinary but you weren’t one to ignore a friend in need.
Butterfly:
YUGI!
Hey, of course, I shouldn’t be too long but I need to get sorted first.
May or may not have fallen back asleep D:
I’ll let you know when I’m on the way!
Locking your phone, you placed it on your table and grabbed your clothes, getting ready within a matter of minutes. Before long, you were finished and heading out. Checking your pockets once more you nodded to yourself and closed your front door, grabbing your phone and shooting off a message to let your smaller friend know you were on your way. Of course, you had to keep yourself in check and not let what had happened get to you. You’d figure it out another day. Right now it was about having fun with your friends.
The sound of a message pinging alerted the owner as round eyes looked at the content, smiling a little before locking their phone. Looking over their shoulder, they looked towards the corner where another figure could be just made out floating in the air. Standing, they grabbed their jacket and placed it on, getting ready to head downstairs and bid goodbye to their grandpa.
The floating figure took notice and vanished, only to reappear beside the smaller figure when he made it outside. Out of these visions he’d been having the one that had just happened felt the most real one yet. The poor spirit wished the world would swallow him whole when he caught his host poking at him, or where he was meant to be. After all, he was making some strange noises, noises even the smaller boy had never heard before. “Yugi, was this really necessary?”.
Looking to the side, the smaller figure smiled and nodded his head as he waited for their friend to appear. “Trust me Yami, (y/n) will be able to help, I know it!”.
As the mention of the name, another figure turned the corner and smiled waving to the lone figure standing outside the game shop. Looking up, the spirit could only blush slightly, coughing as he excused himself back into the walls of the puzzle. Much to the enjoyment of Yugi. It was time to get to the bottom of everything, even if a certain spirit was reluctant.
Walking briskly you came to a halt in front of Yugi and smiled, placing your hand on your hip and you fanned yourself from the slight heat. “Right, I’m here. You ready to go?”.
With a nod of his head, the two friends began to walk and talk about things. Enjoying the other's company, one of them completely unaware of the eyes on them as they walked. “Say Yugi, what was it you wanted to ask me earlier?”.
Oh yeah, the young male had forgotten about that. Coming to a stop, he looked at you and hesitated for a moment before deciding it was time to bite the bullet, asking you outright. “Oh yeah, so you know the spirit of the puzzle? Well, I was wondering if you would go to the Egyptian exhibit at Domino Museum with him? He’s trying to learn more about his past and I know how much you love history. Seems like a win-win if you can help him find something there”.
Looking to your side, you pondered on his words for a moment. You guessed it wouldn’t hurt to agree, it would get you out of your room and on a plus side, it was all about Ancient Egypt. A place that you seemed at ease about the more you learned, a place where you felt like you had belonged once in a past life. Letting out a small hum you nodded your head and smiled. “Sure, can’t turn down a good exhibit can I?”.
Your words seemed to delight the young male, a happy smile bright on his face as you both continued to walk to meet your friends. The spirit watched as he pondered over your words, a smirk appearing on his features. He guessed it wouldn’t hurt to give you a chance to help him, Yugi trusted you immensely with major stuff in his life and besides, he couldn’t shake the feeling that you were familiar to him in some way.

Warning: Rant ahead. Do not read if you wanna avoid me venting about the wider RRverse fandom & their attitude toward the TOA fans.
Seriously. This is a vent post. Stay away if you don't wanna risk getting upset. I just need a place to get it off my chest. It's been stewing in my head for long enough and I usually feel better if I write it down/type it down somewhere. Makes my chest feel less tight.
Stay safe <3
"No one is treating you guys like outcasts!"

SHUT UP
SHUT UP
SHUT UP
THIS IS WHY I STICK TO THE TOA FANDOM.
THIS IS WHY I BARELY INTERACT WITH THE LARGER PJO FANDOM.
THIS IS WHY I GET ANXIOUS ABOUT SAYING I LIKE TOA ON A DIFFERENT PLATFORM THAN TUMBLR.
BECAUSE. OF. THIS.
Recently, I have left a comment on a Youtube video. All in all, it was basically just me listing off reasons why I liked TOA and - in hindsight - naively going "idk why people don't like it".
Top Ten things said before disaster.
The next day, I got two comments.
One was along the lines of-
"Don't care."
The other was-
"Jasper broke up and Jason died - it's not canon to me!"
...
Excuse me for having an opinion, I guess.
What sucks even more is that when a fellow TOA commented to me, the second guy ALSO responded to them with "yeah but PJO and HOO are still better maybe even MCGAA to"
Like what the fuck. who does this. who has the time????
people who don't have a life, i guess.
And then. and then this same person just Keeps Going when I replied. They said "TOA's an AU" and "It relies too heavily on cameos" and then turns around and says "this would have been better if *proceeds to give a list of cameos* were with Apollo instead of Meg"
like. URGHHHHH.
They. Complain. About. Every. Single. Thing.
Even Tristan McLean going broke. And wishing "something" had been done to "fix" it.
Like fixing something of that caliber would be easy. One of TOA's things is that it deals with Reality - and I get it, some people may not like that, especially for a fantasy series - but come on. You can't expect everything to be fine and dandy 24/7 about a series of GREEK MYTHOLOGY, THE CREATOR OF TRAGEDY.
Then they went on to say they hoped that if the show gets to HOO, they "fix" its ending so TOA doesn't happen.
...BRO HOO ONLY EXISTS FOR TOA TO SHINE. RICK'S FAVORITE CHARACTER TO WRITE IS APOLLO AND THAT'S A PILL YOU NEED TO SWALLOW.
they also went on to say that TOA is "example of a story that overstayed its welcome" and i'm just. GAHHHHHHHH *screams into pillows*
"we got new characters in PJO & HOO-"
Me: *can literally name off 27 new characters from TOA from the top of my head*
Them: You need to respect other people's opinions-!
Me: SAYS THE GUY WHO INVADED MY COMMENT??? WHO LITERALLY CALLED ME ANNOYING??? WHO'S COMPLAINING ABOUT A CHILDREN'S SERIES??? AND REFUSED TO AGREE TO DISAGREE WHEN I GAVE YOU THE OPTION???
Them: There's a reason why people don't like TOA. Can you guess? Because we didn't read the book? Nope i read all 5 and the reason is it's not as good as the others-
Me: bro that's not even a solid REASON-
The condensation on that last one really pissed me off.
What was especially baffling, however, was...
Them: I am pretty sure you have hidden opinions that make you like ToA, like maybe you are LGBTQ or LGBTQ Supporter-
WHAT. DOES. MY. SEXUALITY. HAVE. TO. DO. WITH. THIS.
THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!
and as a matter of fact, what are they even implying here??? it just sounds like they're saying I must only like TOA because of the queer rep and I can tell you that reason is bullshit.
(I love the queer rep dw it's just not the #1 reason why i love TOA)
also here's a full list of the characters they said were 'OOC': Piper, Frank, Leo, Calypso, Hazel, & Reyna.
A few of these, I understand the confusion (but also disagree with) - but FRANK? FRANK ZHANG WAS OOC?
AT THIS POINT THEY'RE JUST LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.
(In another person's comment about loving TOA they also went "well there's no Percabeth in it-" OH MY GODS JUST STOP ALREADY.)
It was especially infuriating when I pointed out the hate the TOA fans in the comments experience, they replied with "Nobody's treating you like outcasts!"
TELL THAT TO EVERY TOA FAN WHO'S GOTTEN HATE!
TELL THAT TO ME WHO JUST GOT HATE FOR IT.
just. AJHGSFGH. people. some people.
I want to block them. But youtube has removed that feature (thanks a lot youtube).
I'll stick it out. I am point-blank telling them to drop it. We'll see how that goes.
just...people. Guess you still can't have an opinion, huh?
Jokes on them they merely fueled my stubborn fire. I only love TOA more now. The harder they argue, the tighter I cling.
Anyway. If you've stuck it out this far, thanks for listening. I just really needed to vent. It's been bugging me for a few days and ruining my mood every time I open up youtube.
No response is needed, btw - again, needed a place to vent.
ToA fans, you're the best <3 Love ya <3

-------------------------------------------------------------------
(Nov. 18th, Friday night)
Lynette
The infirmary felt like a second home at this point. She wished it didn't.
Before Tristan continued work, he placed her on his desk instead of one of the beds. Lynette didn't want to sleep her whole day.
At least I have my phone. She thought, scrolling through the angry messages Wicks left her. I forgot about the bet, Wicks. If I had remembered, I wouldn't have come today. She knew she couldn't run forever.
Knowing Lev, he'd pull something to get me back. That thought brought her off earlier. Why did he even go through all the trouble of installing lights?! The payout was so short. Though Lynette realized that if he hadn't been distracted, as she thought he was, he could have kept her helplessly running around in the center.
He would have won. She didn't want to deal with the dastardly dragon twice in one day. It's bad enough. I'll be with him later.
She straightened up upon hearing the knock at the door.
"Lynette?" The voice from the other side cooed.
"Y-yeah?" It's Edgar.
It opened, and Edgar stepped inside. His longer wavy locks tied back through the back of the cap, and his uniform was no different than everyone else's. It's always so odd to see him in that.
He approached me, his wine-colored red hue similar to Drake's looked me up and down.
"H-hello, Mr. Clemente."
He removed his hat and placed it on the table beside me. He sat back in Tristan's wheely chair. "This finally happened on a day I was here," Edgar said, almost relieved. He spoke again, "Besides the fact that we are in-laws now, you don't have to be so formal; you may call me Edgar."
Lynette replied to his second statement, "I know."
He brushed back a few loose hairs, then undid the ponytail entirely. His raven feather hair cascaded down, almost enrapturing her for a moment.
"Do you like to leap into trouble, Lynette?" He questioned, every word held a variation of disappointment.
I'm an idiot, sir. She wanted to respond.
I'm going yet again to someone's house. I'm sure Lev doesn't have a crazy "family"...right? She swam away from those ideas. "I'm honoring a deal I made about a month ago." I have no choice but to. "I'll be fine."
Edgar's eyebrows dropped. His skepticism got ready to poke holes in her bluff balloon.
He refrained and slowly blinked.
He changed the subject, "Wicks gave me a weapon of defense request for you." He relaxed back in the chair. "Once you've finished your training, as I told him, I'll allow you to carry it in the pizzeria." He gestured out the door, "But if you lift it against someone wrongfully-"
"I'd never!" She shook her head and then rubbed her thumb on her knuckles nervously. "Wicks is right. I should have something to protect myself, but I can't see myself hurting anyone..."
Edgar's eyes softened as if they had gained an innocence they once lost. "It's a little different among monsters." He sat up to speak clearer, "Not that monsters are drawn to fight, but sometimes our instincts get the better of us when we're desperate for energy, or we aren't sane, like some humans."
Edgar tapped at his chest, "Sometimes, when you are fighting to defend yourself, you lose hope and everything that can go wrong paralyzes you." He shut his eyes. He heaved his chest like a memory entered it. "So, if you ever find it hard to do it for yourself, remember who you're doing it for. I've fought to defend those I hold dear and ensure I return to them."
He reopened his eyes, his cracked up faintly. It reminded her of Padre. "I turned this into a serious talk, haven't I?" He dryly chuckled. He ran his fingers through his hair like a comb before he tied it back up. "The habit of the old."
"You don't look that old." She answered, then also slid, "And I appreciate it!" Even with her rush, the sincerity was unmistakable. Protect myself so I can protect others.
"Vampire genetics at their finest and cursed." He said with a soft snicker, "I won't start really looking older than this until I die a few times."
"Die?!" Her hands outstretched to Edgar like she could heal him by touch.
Edgar chuckled, "It's nothing to be concerned about, Lynette." He assured her, raising his hand above her head to pat it. "The sentiment is there." He continued, "We die a lot. It's similar to the legend of a phoenix. Our bodies burst into flames after 100 years, then we rise from that, and the energy and it goes down by tens, fives, ones, then months, weeks, days, until we don't come back."
"So you're going to live for a long time."
"Theoretically, yes; however, losing all our energy is another way to die," Edgar admitted.
"Have you already risen once? Is that why you said you were old?" Lynette questioned. Reminds me of what Lev said. It's crazy to think they live so long...Will Wicks live for a long time? Madre, Padre, and Charletta too?
He put his hat back on, "Certainly not. I'm-" He cut himself off. He looked embarrassed. "80,"
"80?!?"
He nodded and tapped on the table with his fingers, "Speaking of living a reasonable amount of time, bringing us back to this-"
"THIS is not something that will ever happen again. I'm sorry."
He stood up from the chair, "this affects you, not so much me..." he corrected himself, "besides my duty to make sure you leave in safe hands."
Lev is not safe. "It's just a sleepover." She lied. I did this. I should have been smarter and put more rules in the beginning. Or... Lynette heard Wicks's voice telling her to quit, then saw the sadness in Claudia's when she mentioned it. AHH. "Is there anything I can do to help bring this small?"
Edgar shrugged, "moral support."
I thought so. She relaxed on the countertop. "You can count these days as my vacation."
Edgar snickered, "You are certainly not on vacation, dear. The event happened here. Any days off you need from a mishap are wavered unless I find out you did this purposefully." She denied she did. "Then no, your Vacation time is for your breaks."
"But it's my fault-"
"I've made my decision, Lynette. You're punished enough with your current size." Edgar's voice dropped lower, and his eyes narrowed on her from above. She felt petrified by his gaze. "and I sincerely hope you learn something this time."
She nodded quickly, and he left.
I forgot how terrified he looks when he's serious.
...
Lynette
The closer he took her to his Ferrari, the more impending her doom felt. Even the air felt cooler, as if it wanted to chill her body.
"Hey.~" His silver vibrated softly. His grip tightened, and he purposefully blew his breath over her back. "What's the matter? Why do you seem so scared?"
She scrunched her shoulders in his grasp, "You'd be scared in my position too."
"I'd never be in your position," he puffed with a teasing tone, "because unlike you, I'd never make deals with those wanting to eat me." A condescending sneer playfully jabbed at her, "I'll give you credit, though; it's definitely made this much more entertaining and distracting."
Good to know I'm entertaining you. Lynette said in her head sarcastically. This isn't some show. "It's not like you guys give me much choice."
Lev waved his hand that held her about, whipping her from side to side like a toy, "You've got plenty of choices, or well, more so two, as Drake doesn't seem so keen on biting you...at least openly."
"I don't-" She tried to coherently answer. "want either of you."
"Well, let's say I decided not to eat you anymore. Then you gotta deal with Alexander." He stopped moving her every which way. She felt dizziness sway her vision. "I highly doubt he'd just stop." Lev dropped her into his breast pocket after he opened the driver's door. "He's far too instinct driven." He strapped the maze down next to him.
"And what about you?"
"Me?" Lev patted his pocket. It felt weird to be so close to him. Not that I hadn't been put in Drake's pocket before. Lev felt warmer, "I enjoy the novelty of it, really."
"What do you mean? You need the energy, don't you?"
His car purred to life, and his laugh echoed inside. His interior projected his voice better, "I honestly don't need it. Dragons like me don't waste a lot of energy. Especially since I've spent much more time in this human case."
"Then you eat me for no reason!?"
"A little more complicated than that, Lynette.~" He tweeted. "Besides that, that remarkable amount of energy heightens your appeal.~"
What does he mean by a little more complicated? "Have I done something to you?"
"You in particular, no," Lev said. His car swung out of the spot quickly. "Now, don't peek out of that pocket. I'd be a shame if you got tossed around the car..." he trailed off, and I heard his snicker from above, "or maybe that'd be funny. Trying to dodge you, driving, and hearing your body crash into things helplessly."
He's crazy. His car roared over her voice as he sped out of the pizzeria.
...
She didn't know what to expect his music choice to be. He had a lot of songs that were instrumental orchestra, and jazz. Trying to focus on it was the only way to keep her sane because Lev was driving well over the speed limit. How he hadn't got pulled over was a miracle.
It still left her uneasy well after he stopped. His hand dug inside the pocket. He grabbed at her like he was a claw machine. He pulled her out, and she faced him. The light the moon cast behind his body. It showed off his sinister grin, along with the soft kindle of his flame-yellow hue.
He "innocuously" spoke, "How was the trip, Lynette~?"
"Y-you drove so fast."
Lev closed his car door behind himself. "Sorry, I'm so excited to show my esteemed guest around my home." He didn't hide his mockery at all.
She glanced back at his home. It was a mansion similar to Drake's, except it was an English country type of mansion. Plenty of finely trimmed hedges, a giant courtyard in front leading to a gate further off in the distance.
Does he live with his family too? He didn't take his car to any sort of garage. He left his car in front of the house and walked with her up the stainless stone stairs while he swirled his keys on his pointer finger in his other hand.
"I take it you've had another well-paying job before the pizzeria, huh?" This place has to be worth millions.
"I've had plenty of jobs, though the pizzeria is my longest as of now." Lev chuckled and put his key into one of the giant double doors, "I actually won this place in a poker game."
"What?!" What person would bet a MANSION in a poker game?!
Lev pushed open the door.
She expected a grand, lavish main entrance filled with statues, paintings, a huge chandelier, and the like...but when she looked ahead, she saw it was empty. Nothing was inside the mansion's foyer, and the stairs at the center that led upward looked purposefully cut off.
"Speechless, huh?" He walked inside, yet his steps no longer made any noise.
"Y-yeah."
Lev bent forward, "My actual form needs plenty of space to rest." He stood at an impossible angle. He pushed her forward toward the presumable floor. She waited to hit it, only for his hand and her body to pass through. Lynette couldn't see anything in the darkness. "Which is why this floor is fake. If you can't fly in some way, you'll fall into this giant hole."
So it's all an illusion. "If a robber or someone comes into your home, they'll fall inside?"
He brought her back up and stood straight, "Funny, isn't it." A smirk grew on his face, "I smoothed out the walls down there, too, so they can't escape. And given that it works as a barrier, phone signals are trapped there too."
Phones don't work in barriers? She never tried it before to find out. "So, your whole mansion is fake?"
He pushed up, and with a gentle gust below him, they ended at the second level. He walked up the three stairs remaining. "I do have other rooms for my precious treasures, hobbies, research, and a bedroom if I'd rather relax in my human case instead of naturally."
Treasures? "I didn't think you'd hoard things." She muttered, slowly feeling his grip put more pressure on her again.
Lev raised a brow and tilted his head, "Hmm?" His smile that hadn't left curled further. "Ah, you want to see my collection, Lynette?" He turned her to face him.
She saw his sharper teeth. That usually indicated his human case got close to breaking, "really warms my heart to know you care..." he pushed his thumb under her chin, directing her head to look at him, "and it really kick starts my..." his vocals strummed, "voracity."
She felt her fear rise; that's what he wants. She tried to remind herself. "Why would that make you hungry-"
He didn't respond at first. Lynette saw his eyes slowly going over her in his grip. Please don't. His eyes met her own darker worried green sheen.
"I eat my treasures from time to time." He started to walk down the left hall. They passed a few rooms.
Lynette knew she shouldn't have said anything—her curiosity pushed it out. "You eat treasures?" Do dragons ever do that in legends?
He stopped his saunter before a door. It hadn't a label, mark, or any difference between it and the several they had with beautiful, scenic mountain patterns carved within them.
He twisted the knob with his free hand and pushed open the door. She expected gold and jewelry to pile out the door or close to it. Instead, Lynette saw several large clothed tables littered with items. Some that, to her, looked like junk. It's like a yard sale. She thought to herself, grateful she didn't say that aloud.
Her eyes trailed to each one; everything looked meticulously placed. She believed there had to be some theme, or maybe they were put where they could fit. Some had uniquely designed mugs, comics in plastic seals, small old clocks, old telephones, typewriters, sports cards always in seals, perfume holders, and on some nicer bookshelves, there were objects of glass, figurines, boxes, anything that looked fragile.
There were also larger things not on the tables in the background, a grandfather clock or two, a mirror, a golf bag full of clubs, and so many other things. It overwhelmed her.
How does he eat anything in here? This room isn't that much larger than normal ones. She peered over her shoulder; he looked heavily fascinated and encapsulated by what was in the room.
His eyes fell back on her, "why do I eat my treasures?" He repeated her question and made her face him. He held her up to be aligned with a shelf in the back, almost like he found the perfect place for her, "two reasons, one, we can store energy in these items for later by consuming them." He brought her close to his lips, "and two," he opened his mouth.
He gave no indication that he would eat her now. She jolted and tried to free her arms. His tongue came out and stroked along her exposed neck and face. It left a trail of its warmness on her.
She wished her furls of reddish-orange hair weren't tied back.
"Mhm," he exhaled with his enjoyment. It felt it was to spite the nervous Lynette, "our saliva marks things like with most monsters," he gave a light swallow, "except unlike theirs, ours is potent and is meant to linger on objects we coat for weeks."
He hadn't moved her, so she remained close to his mouth. "thus, eating our favorite objects tells others they're ours." She refused to look up at his face. She could see his gaze even with her eyes shut.
She attempted to steer his attention elsewhere, "Which is your favorite item out of all of them here?" Lynette didn't mean to trip over her words.
His lack of response carried her up; she saw his eyes keenly awaiting to meet her. His wicked smile remained.
"You don't have to worry, Lynette. I'm not going to eat you yet." Lev said. "I've got a bit more fun planned before then." He ignored her question. "That's why you asked, wasn't it? A desperate effort to make me take my eyes off you?"
She wanted to lie but couldn't. "You said the eating thing after you licked me!"
"I did." He said. "Wanna guess why?" He held me up and tilted his head to look at her, "Maybe it's because of the rarity of your energy level or the fact that right now you're not only invincible, but you're so small." He smiled, "So reliant on me."
"I can-I can do things on my own."
The suave male with midnight blue hair chuckled, "Really?" His fingers began to loosen, "you're saying if I were to lower you into my jaw right now, you'd be able to stop me?" His irises flickered, "Or even better, what if I decided to never let you out?"
His fingers started to let go above his open mouth. She held at them, "That's not being reliant; you're an obstacle!" Lynette exclaimed, "Just because I can do things alone doesn't mean everything! We both know I can't beat you."
He slowly closed his mouth and clutched her with his thumb, middle, and pointer. "That's an interesting answer. I expected you to tell me that's gross, not to do it because of work, or something along those lines."
She didn't quite feel relieved, "I know if I did, you'll make things worse."
He snickered while showing his still sharper fangs, "Oh, Lynette," He stroked her head with the fingers of his other hand, "what you call worse is by far the tamest I can be."
...
She rarely stayed up past midnight. Lynette felt the drowsiness pull at her, though, his persistent phone ringing and buzzing kept her up.
He had brought her to his kitchen, which looked rather clean and stocked with food. And even down here he seemed to have a place for his rare, sentimental dishes.
He's making food. She remarked in her head, able to smell the meaty aroma of steak through his pocket. Why is he doing that if he plans on eating me... She didn't like those thoughts paired together.
Lynette debated whether she should jump out of his pocket or stay put. If I did that he'd probably step on me, "accidently".
His phone rang again. It had been ringing a few times in a row without him answering. She didn't know why. Lev's answered several of them already with his flirtatious flare. Lynette was glad he didn't twirl her around by her arms or legs like he did while talking to them earlier.
She heard a few clings and her body swayed with his. Lev was moving. He stopped and placed what he was carrying down. She wobblily got up, fighting the fabric. Not that it mattered as he picked her out of his uniform pocket. Unlike before, he dropped her not long after she left it.
She fell back first onto something wet and when she pressed on it to get up, her hand got a better feel of its tender exterior.
Her nose picked up the smell of cooked meat, specifically a well-seasoned steak.
Lynette yelped and tried to climb off the side, his fork stuck down on top of her leg. The prongs kept her from getting away.
"Don't like your bed, Lynette?" Lev lifted up his knife, "I worked so hard to make it too."
"Then why waste it by putting me on it! I'm getting covered in it-" I didn't want him to answer that.
He pressed his knife down, close to her foot, "Don't worry, Lynette..." He moved the medium rare piece he sliced to his lips, hungrily looking at her, "I'll clean you up after."
She watched him eat the slice, unbothered.
"I don't want to be with your left over dinner-" He'd be digesting it, wouldn't he? She didn't want to be inside him when that happened.
"I guess that depends on how I'm feeling, hmm?" He teased. What does he mean by that? He text ping went off. He tapped at the screen, keeping it on the table. She felt his fork push harder into her leg. Lynette was relieved there wasn't any pain or wound.
"I'm going to make her death look like an accident," he whispered venomously.
Her eyes flickered to it and squinted.
(555) - *** - ****: Hey, how's my favorite underkin doing? I think you blocked my number on accident again. 1:32 a.m.
(555) - *** - ****: Are you busy this weekend? I'm free. 1:32 a.m.
"Underkin?" Tila said Drakin's are dragons, and I don't remember the name for what Drakin he could be, but it had the name -kin in it right?...is that what he is?
His fork lifted from her leg. She went to pull it closer to herself, hearing his silverware clatter to the table. She fell off it before his hand could grab her. It clung around the air instead with a hard squeeze.
"Reading my messages without permission, were you?" His voice's usual hum crackled with defensiveness. She never heard Lev like that before.
"I-I'm sorry. I was wondering why you said, de-ATH-"
His clawed finger pushed into her. She fell onto her back. His middle and pointer finger spanned out, he pressed them into her wrists to keep them in place, and his palm planted on her legs.
Lynette stared up at his face between his fingers. With wild eyes, a twitch in his smile, and unsteady hands, his expression looked like a cornered animal.
Then, it slowly devolved down into annoyance and he let her go.
He brought his finger tips that touched her to his face. "Why don't we finally play a game?" Lev licked over them.
She was too stunned to respond. What was that about?
He got his pack of cards out of his pocket and laid out all the cards.
"You pick one and depending on your suit, depends on how I eat you, and the number of the card, means how long I take savoring you."
"H-huh?" She traced every card with no indication as to which is which.
He dug into his other pocket and brought out a coin. He rolled it between his fingers, "and this will decide your second fate."
"What second fate?"
Lev held a bustling excitement, refusing to answer her. "Why don't you pick one and find out?"
She wanted to refuse. He flipped so quickly...but why would that name bother him? Does he not want me to know? Why would he care? She had no choice, she started to walk to the far right.
"You're not going to tell me what each suit represents, are you?"
"I'm not spoiling the surprise." He leaned in, "all I can tell you is that I will be eating you and if you refuse to pick, I'll pick my favorite.~"
She tapped on one and watched him flip it up toward himself.
He smirked and without saying a word snatched her from the table.
She squeaked out, "Lev, what did I pick?"
He didn't answer, he walked back to the kitchen counter holding me. "L-lev!"
He hummed, "for someone who doesn't want to end up eaten, you keep saying my name in such a sweet and alluring melody that I can't resist."
He stopped and looked at her. "I'm not saying it in a-" She watched where his eyes traveled. She peered down and her heart jumped. "please don't-,"
He huffed gently, "hmm, what's wrong?" He tapped the side of his head with his other hand, "right, right, I didn't do the coin flip yet, did I?"
He let her go, she tried to remain clung to his hand, but he got her off with his other. She barely stopped herself before the blades. She slid down and twisted her body to land away from them.
"You might kill me-"
Lev leaned over the glass holding the coin up, "heads or tails?"
She didn't answer.
Lev flipped it between his fingers again, "oh, Lynette, do you really want me to choose?"
"Can't you tell me what it's for?"
His devious grin with eyes squinted to match, raised.
He traced the rim with his finger, "unlike most monsters I have two stomachs, one is for rare items, or things I'd want to preserve." He touched at his abdomen, "that's where I send you during our lunch breaks. It can take or give energy, depending on what I want but it's much slower..."
He flicked the coin above me showing tails, "and my second stomach is where I send things I want to digest. I'd estimate a human body would be reduced to nothing in less than an hour."
He tapped his coin on the glass. "But you're unable to be harmed right now. You'd surely survive in my unbearably smoldering and highly active stomach."
Is he serious. She felt herself sink back, touching a blade.
"I'm curious as to how it'll feel to have something alive in there for such a long time."
Her mouth refused to open. He wouldn't do that would he?
"How about, heads you choose, tails I do." He voice softly tried to falsely sooth me.
"I know, I shouldn't have been so nosy. But I don't think this should warrant this kind of punish-"
His slammed the coin down by the blender and walked toward the fridge.
I think I made it worse. She pressed against the glass, trying to see what he was doing. Lynette noticed him grab a bag of fruit. He's going to make a smoothie, really?! She glanced back at the blades and held her hand over the tip. She slowly put her hand on top, then continued to add pressure, until she put as much as she could behind it. It didn't pierce her skin, nor hurt.
Even if I don't get hurt, I don't want to be drank with a smoothie!
She couldn't climb the glass even if she wanted too. He had already got back to the blender. He tore open the bag of frozen fruits and tipped them inside.
They piled on top of her and she cried out from their chill, "LEV PLEASE!"
Lynette pulled herself from them, the best she could in time for the milk to come crashing down over her head. She scrambled as the milk started to make the fruit bumble into her further. It's so cold. He added a bit of yogurt then sealed the blender. While keeping her helpless body against the glass, she watched Lev fiddle with the settings.
He met her eyes and started it.
The machine whirred to life, spurring the fruits, liquid and yogurt over her body. She collided with the blades a few times unharmed, even her hair seemed immune. Though, her clothes, stronger than most fabrics, gained some tears.
After the mess was liquefied, the blades slowed to a halt. Lynette tried to swim up in it and found it incredibly difficult in the tropical mixture. At least the potion Claudia made, really did make her unable to be damaged, because her eyes didn't burn after opening and she wasn't suffocating.
Her world shook then tipped over. The liquid was escaping and she could see where. Her as well as the smoothie was going into a cup. No matter where she threw her hands, she couldn't stop herself from plopping into the cup. Her legs partially hung outside the edge of it.
...
Lev
His eagerness grew when he watched her struggle to get out.
He brought the cup to his lips and tipped it back. He felt her and the liquid move past his lips, flooding its sweetness on his tongue. He had up to her upper arms in his mouth. That's so sweet. He thought. He watched her kick her legs to get free.
The liquid sputtered as she did, but it didn't stop him from continuing to drink it. Swallow after swallow, he kept her trapped, only allowing the liquid to rush through.
His slightly sharpened fangs on her waistline. They massaged her softly with each gulp.
He tipped the cup back into a resting position, releasing her. I shouldn't give her time to rest, should I?
He brought the drink up again after her change in orientation.
This time Lev captured her up to her hips. Lynette gasped and pushed him. "What's the point of eating me? You still have the steak and-"
He split his teeth a bit more, letting her slip further. He stopped like before at her waist. And drank the rest of the drink.
He didn't care that she put her smoothie-covered body on his face.
He pinched the back of her uniform to keep her from going down. His warm breath went over her chilled body, and she could look down his throat easier.
He projected his voice to her with his mind. "Think it's time for our little coin flip, don't you?"
She never heard his voice like that before; he never had the chance to tease her as he wanted.
"Didn't you get enough? Aren't you satisfied?"
Satisfied? The term made him chuckle. With his free hand, he flipped the coin. His eyes caught what it was, and he smiled. "Who do you think won?"
He could feel her fearful trembling across his tongue. " That's not fair. I can't see the coin-"
"There's only one place you should be paying attention to.~" Lev opened his mouth wider, letting her see his throat muscles tighten, his tongue push her up, and the hard tugging at her feet. His mock gulp tried to drag her into his body.
He undid his hold on her shirt. It always amazed him; even after all this time, she squirmed frantically, and he could no longer ignore his urge or the annoying pester inside his head.
She never gives up, does she?
He felt her slip further and further until her body couldn't hold onto anything anymore.
...

I'm curious about Declan and:
Gil
Tatya
Bo
Horatio
Asking you to write a whole essay lmao
Send me a platonic pairing and get an essay lol
genuinely thank you Kendrick I want to write you an essay lol (and honestly good excuse for more dynamic building)
Declan & Gil
Declan is happy that Tristan has someone else in her life telling her to stop blaming herself for Cady's death, because even though she introduced him to warp racing everyone knows Cady did whatever he damn well felt like and no one can hold her (the person who also got out of warp racing and told Cady to) accountable for his actions. He also likes listening to Gil's tales of school shenanigans and explanations of her craft projects. He feels like she actually listens when he talks, and that means a lot. But he's never fully gotten over the feeling of envy that Tristan gets to have a partner while he remains in permanent mourning. He tries not to let it color his relationship with Gil. But on some level Gil knows that's what he thinks and she can't really blame him. She actually knows a lot more about Declan in general than he knows about her, not because he's not interested in her life but because she's good friends with Rodney, and Rodney always ends up eventually talking about Declan. She also knows things that Declan doesn't (or at least doesn't discover until Nicea), like that Rodney has been secretly borrowing Declan's storage unit keys to check up on things. She won't say this to anyone except Tristan but she wishes there was more she could do for him beyond occasional gifts and distractions.
Declan & Tatya
I harp on how Tatya is a lover and a flirt and oupy but she is also a genuine professional, and when she's around Declan (read: the boss) she gets right to the point and is very clear about what she can and can't do. Declan loves this, and also loves the absolute smoothness of her warps. Like, professional warp witches who work out of contracting companies do good warps, but never with the same almost-imperceptible entry and exit Tatya can manage. Declan is, however, kind of over the conflict between her and Isabel. It seems to be mostly ribbing, and they keep it out of his bridge, but oh boy does he not want to have to lay down the law about them shutting up, so he hopes it doesn't become anything beyond that. For the most part Declan just doesn't think about Tatya outside of her doing her job or hanging out in the bridge - even though she's constantly in the Nicea instead of her own attached ship she hasn't been incorporated into the flow of the crew in his opinion - but he is vaguely fond of her presence, maybe because she reminds him a little of Cady. Tatya mostly just wants to impress him, because she wants to do well and get paid, but also it's obvious to her that he's in charge of this weird quasi-family dynamic and if he's cool with her, then Isabel has to actually face her requests instead of complaining to this guy about it (if anyone actually complains to this guy. she's beginning to doubt that he even accepts complaints).
Declan & Bo
To be perfectly honest Declan doesn't get Bo. No one really does except Tristan but Declan is especially ??? when it comes to them. On the plus side, Bo is usually pretty quiet and doesn't try to draw Declan into shenanigans. On the minus side, they're always saying weird shit and getting everyone around them to be loud and eating everything (that can be a plus too. depends on whether they're eating the things he wanted). Because Bo is very pro-warp racing, Declan has always been kind of suspicious of them, but Cady always came back in one piece, so… He doesn't blame Bo for Cady's death exactly, but he also very much does not not blame them for it. Without easy access to a warp witch even Cady's thrill-seeking ass would not be out there warp racing so much, but also without that witch being Bo that might have been a more dangerous prospect. Perhaps the best description of their relationship is that Declan tolerates Bo, in the most neutral way possible, and Bo thinks that Declan is a real solid guy. Nothing like Cady, and probably doesn't even like them, but still solid. And also sometimes points them to the food in his fridge he doesn't want, which they are happy to take care of. After spending a decade with Cady Bo has a lot more understanding of Declan, but I'm not sure how much that comes out in their interactions.
Declan & Horatio
Declan has an immense respect for Horatio based 50% on Horatio's meticulously-kept records. I realized because of this ask that if Nicea and AOM take place at roughly the same time (as I assumed) and Cady picked up the old dashboard corona from Horatio a little over ten years ago, this means that Horatio has been running a little side hustle in plant sales since he was in college, which honestly checks out. But I think that also means that Declan has never seen Horatio's shop before Nicea, because that definitely didn't exist a decade ago. Still, Horatio has always kept handwritten sales records in an extremely neat and readable print hand (Declan can't fathom this. how can you write that much print, with a pen, no less) and Declan is extremely enchanted by this. The other 50% of Declan's respect comes from the fact that Horatio was the one who decorated Cady's funeral (in this culture, more a party/celebration of life than a funeral, and divorced from the actual burial) and never once made a fuss to him about anything or turned his customer-service cheerfulness on him. There was simply a moment as Horatio was packing up everything where, unprompted, Horatio cut him an orchid to put on Cady's grave, and explained that it was a Summer Band symbol of grief. Horatio, for his part, has no idea what it feels like to lose someone like Declan has - multiple times! - but he figures that's a good reason to just stay out of it.

you know what fuck it
im doing this one for me
Gwendolynn & Tristan & Lancelot stuff
Gwen was 10 when her mother brought her and her younger brother Ahmar to Liones to escape Camelot. Llacheu was born five days after they arrived.
Gwen spent the first three days of her time in Liones huddled in a pillow fort Meliodas and Tristan made for her because of how overwhelmed she was by how much different the regular world is from Camelot's Chaos Realm.
Tristan spent the first day loitering outside the room until she put one of the books he'd brought her outside the fort and smacked it until he came in to read it to her.
Gwen first met Lancelot in his fairy form while on an outing with the Liones family. She was making flower crowns and he was trying to figure out who she was. When she asked his name he told her "None of your business", to which she referred to him as "Mister Nunya" for.
The first time Lance witnessed Gwen having a panic attack was at a swordsmanship contest. He was left alone with her while Tristan went to get his parents while she was shutting down. Lancelot, noticing how she clawed at her ears, put his hands over her ears and sat like that until she calmed down. It's his go to way of easing her out of episodes even in their older years.
The physical boundary between the three of them is damn near non-existent. Gwen is often holding one of their hands or huggin one of their arms, Lancelot leans on them or throws his arms over their shoulders, Tristan is a hugger, he will koala on one of them given the opportunity for bothering.
Ban's joked at least once that physically separating the three of them for more than a day is some kind of miracle.
They often slept in Gwen's pillow fort as kids, which stayed up until Gwen was about 14.
Gwen and Tristan spent so much time together growing up that they share a lot of mannerisms. Lancelot loves abusing this by messing with them and getting an echoed noise of annoyance from them.
People often remark how "sibling like" Gwen and Tristan act. They always disagree, but it's been helpful when pulling some schemes.
Gwen and Lancelot often call each other things like "bitch" or "fucker" or "asshole" when annoying each other, thought it's always done with the utmost affection. They're jokingly mean to each other all the time, though they've occasionally gone too far. They're often too stubborn to make up without Tristan's direct interference.
Lance and Tristan are both taller than Gwen and she abuses this by attempting to climb on their shoulders.
Gwen, upon seeing Lancelot's fox form but before finding out it was him, baby talked "Sin" because she assumed he was a pet or familiar.
He has never let her live this down and it embarrasses her every time without fail.
Despite the fact he can fly in Fairy Form, Lancelot often prefers to fly on Gwen's summon swords like she does since she can't fly or summon wings. He thinks it looks cooler.

Short
Vance x reader
Reader is like an inch taller idk
Summary - you and Vance are online friends but you ended up taking a trip to his hometown, however you can't quite get over his height
Word count: 944
I read somewhere that Tristan (Bruces actor) is like 5'5 so like since Brady (Vances actor) is almost the same height as him so I'd like to assume Vance is pretty much is the same height maybe shorter so here's this lmao
Social media and I guess advanced technology is a thing already👌🏼
Tumblr media
☆☆☆☆
"Holy cow your short Vance"
"Shut up,"
-----
Vance and you have been friends through social media because of some cocky thing he had said on an app and when it found you, you decided to say something though it had nothing to do with you, you decided it would be funny to see how he'd respond.
So from then on you two continued to "bully" eachother or just tease a little but after around two weeks of nonsense you added eachother, both not going a day without talking since then. Due to you guys living in different states though, you've never seen one another in real life, but as soon as you got your first vehicle at 17 you decided your first big trip should be to Denver where your good, old dear pal, Vance was at, you didn't tell him though and truth be told you didn't know what to expect he never wanted to face time you, you knew he was your age though, because what type of weird middle aged man say they're 5'5? And he would show you pictures of him beating his personal high scores in pinball, but you did add him not knowing he was the school "bully" however he seemed to be nice to you, plus you'd stay there too short of a time to really know the reputation he built in his hometown.
So as you got closer to your designated spot you began to ask Vance a tad bit too many personal questions about where he hangs out the most at, and where he lives so he soon got suspicious and began connecting the dots from when you told him 3 weeks ago that you got your driver's license to when you said your parents got you a car as to when you said what his reaction would be if you drove to Denver to meet him and to now when you wouldn't stop spamming him questions along the lines of "do you live in a big neighborhood or?". So yeah your surprise was a bit of a fail but here you were now at a convenient store with a worn out logo up front, 'grab n go' and surprisingly to anyone else but you he bought all the stuff you picked out.
You couldn't lie about the fact that you felt people staring at you two inside the store, you thought maybe he was popular here, maybe that explains why they're staring at him, but if he was popular why would everybody shuffle a little further away from the both of you each step yo- he took. You didn't care too much to dig into it further as you guys left but you did end up asking him.
"Are you popular here or something Vance, because you never told me that."
"Eh, I suppose it's something like that"
"Huh?" "Doesn't matter here lets go up that hill over there" "okay!"
As you made your way up the hill he pointed at earlier, you asked if he could show you the pinball machine he always uses or if he could show you how to play, you already know to play but you wanted him to show you how he plays because if he could best his high score every time he must be doing something very right. "we already passed it y/n"
"what, where we only went to that old store down there- oh, oh was it over at the corner crowded by everybody" "mhmm"
"so I assume it's hard to get a chance to play, right?"
"Not necessarily a problem for me, I mean it basically has my name all over it but maybe for other people" "wow"
------
"You know I expected you to be a bit taller Vance, yeah you told me your height but I thought maybe you were exaggerating like you knew you were short but wanted to get the point across so you lowered the numbers a bit,"
"That makes no sense y/n, literally, what part of that was logical to you" he rolled his eyes at you.
"Hey, you don't get to make fun of me, atleast I can reach the top shelf at libraries" you knew you were exaggerating he most likely could reach it just fine but just like the first time you both talked to eachother you wanted to see how he'd respond.
"I so can reach the top shelf we're legit the same size" he replied feigning offense in his voice or maybe he was offended you couldn't really tell "you probably wouldn't know if you could or not, it's not like you've ever touched a book anyway." As he was about to snap back you grabbed one of his candies, stood up and held it high standing on your tippy toes and extending your arm as far as it can go, you knew he could pretty much reach it if he really tried because as mentioned you were pretty much the same height but he seemed to be struggling
....
"Holy cow your short Vance"
"Shut up stop saying that, I just don't want to hurt you, stop making my height a bigger deal than it is"
"Ill pray for you to grow Vance, don't you worry" you gave him his wrapped candy back.
"Geez so generous thank you, humble friend" he had a sarcastic tone to it while letting out an annoyed sigh as he finished. "You're so welcomed, Vance" you said having the biggest smile on your face. You wanted to enjoy the few days you'll be staying and what other way to do that than to annoy good ol' Vance Hopper.

Black Bird x Kingsman Crossover: New Years Eve Kiss.
Note: I did not edit this so I hope it still comes across as sassy and suggestive as I had hoped.
Also, I want say a big thank you to @stilessbaseballbat for requesting a second part to the first Black Bird x Kingsman crossover imagine I did earlier this year.
I really hope that I did this justice and I hope it makes you smile.
P.S: This was scheduled but has now been manually posted because of a bloody technological hiccup🙄
P.P.S: Eggsy is married in this but not to Tilde because I can't stand her. I hope that ok.
===
Tumblr media
The holiday season had never been y/n’s favorite. It’s not that she didn’t enjoy the occasional activity but ask if she had any plans to spend time with family or friends and she’d laugh in your face. She could never find anyone that was interested in celebrating the season with her. They would either break up with her as soon as the first sign of winter appeared or they would stab her in the back and make her feel less than. Basically, celebrating Christmas and New Years Eve was something y/n was happy to gloss over.
However, this holiday season was different. Eggsy Unwin, her best friend, was insistent that she join in on the party he and his wife were hosting to bring in the new year. Eggsy knew her reasons for not liking the holidays but for a reason unknown, he wasn’t giving up and it was starting to make y/n mad.
“Will you shut up about this damn party already? I’m not interested.” Y/n told him exasperatedly as they sat at the table they were eating their lunch at in the cafe they frequented when they had free time.
“Why not?” Eggsy pouted and y/n rolled her eyes.
“You know why not.” Y/n replied with a huff.
“Would you come if I told you that I wanted to set you up with someone?” Eggsy asked, taking a drink of his coffee.
“Are you fucking serious? Why would you do that?” Y/N questioned incredulously.
“Because I’m worried about you and because I want to see you happy.” Eggsy told her.
“What makes you think I’m not happy?” She asked.
“Y/n come on, I’m not blind. I saw the way you reacted when Roxy announced that she was getting married.” He said.
Y/n knew Eggsy had her there but she was happy. She was happy that she didn’t have to rush home for another person, happy that she got to do what she wanted when she wanted to do it and she was happy that if she had to work late or go on missions, she didn’t have to worry about missing anything.
“Look, I love you but I don’t need someone to be happy. I am happy and I very much love my life the way it is so please, take no for an answer.” Y/N asked him nicely, hoping the change in her tone in her voice would make Eggsy take her seriously.
“I hear you, I do but he’s really excited to see you again.” Eggsy said and y/n sighed.
“Who the fuck is it, Gary?” Y/n said, using Eggsy’s first name, letting him know that she was beyond pissed off.
“If I tell you, you really won’t want to come.” He answered.
Y/n knew exactly who he was referring to. She scooted her chair back and left Eggsy sitting there, knowing he’d fucked up by being so forceful.
=
Two nights later, y/n sat at her desk going through paperwork she needed to complete before her mission the following week. She was excited about getting out of London and having a new place to visit but as this wasn’t a long mission, she would hardly have the free time to explore.
“What’s on your mind?” Tristan asked as he approached  y/n’s desk with a cup of coffee.
“Do I look unhappy to you?” Y/n asked, looking up from the stack of papers and taking the cup from him.
“You do look tired.” He said after a minute of looking her over.
“Eggsy’s trying to set me up with his brother.” Y/n replied and Tristan sighed.
“Even after you told him what Jimmy did?” Tristan asked, perching himself on the corner of y/n’s desk.
Y/n leaned back in her chair and nodded.
“Apparently I look unhappy to Eggsy and he took it upon himself to play cupid because he wants to see me happy.” Y/n explained.
“When are you supposed to meet up with Jimmy?” Tristan asked and y/n looked at her watch.
“At Eggsy and Molly’s New Years Eve party tonight.” Y/n said.
Tristan looked at y/n and a smile slowly spread across his mouth, alerting y/n to the fact that he had an idea.
“Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that you have an idea?” Y/n asked.
“Oh honey, I think you’ll like this idea.” He replied and y/n pursed lips and rubbed her hand over her face.
“Lay it on me Tristan.” Y/n said.
=
It had been more than 20 minutes since Tristan and y/n arrived at the party and already Jimmy had tried to get her to talk to him a multitude of times but she was not giving in that easily; and if she was being honest, she could’ve kissed Tristan for coming up with the idea of making Jimmy pine for her so much it physically hurts him.
Eggsy on the other hand, wasn’t too pleased that y/n was being this harsh. Sure, she was normally sassy and made men work for her attention but this almost felt a little too much.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Eggsy asked shortly as he pulled y/n aside and out of earshot.
Y/n raised her brows at him.
“Me? What the hell is wrong with you?” Y/n shot back.
“Why are you being so harsh with him?” Eggsy replied and y/n scoffed.
“You of all people know me better than that, Eggsy.” Y/n said, gobsmacked that Eggsy was being rude.
Eggsy sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“I don't want to fight Eggsy but you should have left things alone.” Y/n told him gently.
“I don’t want to fight either but I think you need to stop being so stubborn and just let him talk to you. Just hear him out.” Eggsy commented.
“I’m not going to Eggsy.” Y/n said, turning to leave.
“So what if he said the wrong name during sex. He’s not the first person to have done that y/n.” Eggsy said.
“Is that what you think this is about?” Y/n questioned, turning to face him again.
“Isn’t it?” Eggsy asked.
“Wow, you know, for someone who claims to be good at reading people, you sure are stupid.”Y/n said, leaving Eggsy alone once again.
Eggsy took a deep breath and collected himself before he went to find his wife who had been talking with Harry and Merlin.
“Is everything ok, babe?” Molly asked as Eggsy joined them looking slightly wounded.
“Yeah, course.” Eggsy said, putting a smile on his face.
Merlin could see through it though and so could Harry.
=
Meanwhile, y/n was standing in the kitchen when Jimmy approached her again.
“Mind if I join you?” He asked, making y/n jump.
“Haven’t you clued in yet? I’m not interested in talking with you or even looking in your direction.” Y/n replied.
“Why no-” Jimmy started when Tristan came to her rescue.
“You just won’t take no for an answer can you?.” Tristan asked, shaking his head.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to talk to y/n.” Jimmy said cockily.
“Mate, she’s made it known that she has no interest in talking with you so fuck off.” Tristan replied in warning.
“Or what?” Jimmy challenged, stepping closer to Tristan and getting in his face.
Y/n stepped closer and tried to get in between the men but neither was listening to her.
“Oh my god, knock it off you too. You are creating a scene.” Roxy scalded, having enough of seeing her friend being harassed.
Both Tristan and Jimmy looked at her and scoffed. Neither of them wanted to stop their staring contest but the look on Roxy’s face told them that if they didn’t stop, she would make them regret it immensely.
“Fine.” Jimmy said, straightening up and smoothing out his hair before walking out of the kitchen;  but despite Roxy’s warning, he had no intention of leaving y/n alone until she gave in and talked to him.
Jimmy walked out of the kitchen and y/n breathed a sigh of relief.
“Thank you.” She said to Roxy who nodded and walked away.
Y/n then turned to Tristan and smiled at him in thanks.
“So, got anyone to kiss at Midnight?” Y/n teased, wanting to fully change the subject.
“Well no but I do have my eye on that bloke in the corner.” Tristan said, blushing and pointing to Cody, a friend of Eggsy and y/n’s from outside of work.
“He’s a goodin that one.” Y/n said, almost cooing.
Tristan chuckled and looked down at the ground in an attempt to avert his gaze from y/n’s
“Seriously, he’s quite popular so you better go and ask him now if you want a new year’s kiss.” Y/n told him and Tristan nodded.
“You going to be ok?” Tristan asked and y/n smiled at him.
“Yeah, I’m a big girl, I’ll be fine.” She replied with a playful shrug.
“Ok.” Tristan replied before heading over to Cody to talk.
=
At 11:50pm, most everyone had chosen their midnight kisses but y/n who had not, sat outside looking up at the stars, much like she did every year.
“Why are you out here by yourself?” Molly asked, sitting down next to her husband’s friend.
“Just thinking.” Y/n replied simply.
“If it’s about Eggsy, I know he’s a pain in the ass but he really does care about you. Just wants the best for you.” Molly said.
“I know he does and I appreciate that but I think he forgets just that I’m not like him. I’m not used to having people care for me, nor do I want that when it comes to people like his brother.” Y/n explained.
“I saw that. I’m glad Roxy stepped in or else I would have.” Molly said as she bumped shoulders with y/n, making her smile.
Both women stayed out there for a few minutes before they got cold and were in need of something warm and cozy to drink, which of course had to be Eggsy’s famous spiked hot chocolate as that’s what seemed to be what they always had around this time of year.
=
“Where were you?” Jimmy asked as he approached y/n again.
At this point, she was ready to put a bullet through his head with how much he thought it was ok to badger her to talk to him after she made it very clear she was not interested in him or his arrogant antics.
“That’s none of your business.” Y/n snarked in reply.
“You know, the more you ignore me, the more I’m going to push.” Jimmy said and y/n groaned.
“Why are you so hellbent on getting me to talk to you? I’ve already told you no and quite frankly, you are pissing me off by not listening.” Y/n told him as everyone else around them started counting down.
“I’m not one to take no for an answer.” He replied and y/n quirked her brow.
“No shit.” Y/n snapped.
“Look, I want to go into the new year with a clean slate so will you just fucking hear me out?” Jimmy asked, feeling exasperated at this point.
Y/n thought about it for a second and she knew that he would never leave her alone if she didn’t do something to shut him up now; and the best thing she could think of was to put her cup down quickly, grab Jimmy by the collar of his shirt and plant a heated kiss on his lips as the clock hit 12:00am.
Was it the smartest thing to do? Not at all. Did it pacify him for a week or two? Yes. Would y/n give him another chance so that he could redeem himself by not flirting with other women in front of her? The jury was still out on that one but y/n was leaning towards granting him that second chance.
