Literally the entirety of Captain America: Civil War would've been solved by any of the characters googling exactly how long it takes for a panel on the UN to get anything done/what exactly the UN is allowed to do in general
Like first of all, the UN is not a government. It doesn't have the jurisdiction to send anything more than the peacekeepers, and that only after a full meeting of all the world leaders who'd be affected. The team would have to wait for the world leaders to be flown in to a designated meeting place, and then bicker about necessity of intervention for literally days on end, even if they did wind up wanting you to go somewhere
Imagine if you'd had to wait seven to nine business days before even suiting up in ANY of the movies
There would be no United Nations except the One United Nation of Midgard that Loki is in charge of.
And look who was actually calling the shots when it came down to it? Who sent Tony and the rest of them after Cap when he defected?

No panel of UN. Not even more than one person. Just the guy who pitched it to them in the first place — the same dude who actively tried to murder Bruce for not being able to be controlled.
The real question is why the heck anyone believed him in the first place. He literally walked in, told them he didn't get a sense of perspective from any of his years in the army and instead got it from a close brush with his own mortality WHILE GOLFING, insulted all of them, trauma-triggered several of them (HE PLAYED FOOTAGE OF SOKOVIA IN FRONT OF WANDA AS IF THAT WASNT HER HOME BEING DESTROYED AND THE TIME HER BROTHER GOT KILLED), compared their team members to mislaid physical weapons, threatened them, and then demanded they be controlled.
He is your common-or-garden Rich, Power-Hungry, Hyper-Militant Politician.
I mean I get that Tony was desperate to fix his mistakes, but damn. I thought the first part of his job description was "genius". He just swallowed everything Ross spoon-fed to him with zero (0) critical thinking skills or even a thirty-second google??

It just gave Ross a better power play to pretend like it was, so he'd have the Avengers under his thumb by pretending they were already out of time to actually make a stand against it by the time they learned of the document's existence.
It was never submit or quit. That's just how Ross played it, even though he said himself that it wasn't ratified yet. And because of that, the Avengers who didn't stand with the Accords DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP TO THE UN MEETING TO DEFEND THEIR CASE
Just because Ross told them it was too late.
Kinda brilliant on Ross' part, but also immensely stupid on everyone else's.

my dream last night. holy fucking shit.
there were a whole ton of young people, i dont know how we got here but we were partnered up to hang out together for the day. my partner was a guy i **dont work with** but who i see at work every day. i call him hot wheels boy. were going off walking and chatting, and hes telling me things and introducing me to people and whatever. i met his friend who was this scrawny little girl with glasses who tbh i think was in brain modeled after a girl in my class in 8th grade. ANYWAY.
we get to this little stage area n were sitting at this outdoor show thing with most of the other partners when we all notice.........something. the something is a fucking missle. and it looks like its coming down right onto us.
we freak out, i bury my face into my partners shoulder and hope for the best. it does not land directly on us, but still pretty damn close and somehow we dont die!
after a few disorienting minutes, hot wheels boy and i find each other and we go running for shelter. the sky is **raining** ash. we run and run and run and somehow. i lose my partner.
worth noting, i also saw glasses girl. she was injured. and somehow i knew, she was the cause of this and there would be 2 more attacks.
the building i go into, atleast part of it, is modeled after the local arena. one giant fukcing circle with rooms leading off of it. of course everyone inside is a mess, panickimg and screaming. some people are injured. i know theres one door i have to go through in paticular. its blue. i get through easy enough and behind the blue door is a maze of like. lounge esque rooms. lots of curtains and dark lighting and red panel walls and shit like that. from here i dont know where im going.
its at this point that i realize that in my panic to get ****away*** i lost my phone. whatever.
im going through this maze. i get handed two silver boxes by two different people. one, an old woman who peeked out from a door and told me not to unlock it. and another from ***eric carsle** or whatever he was, the author of hungry hungry caterpillar. he told me not to unlock the safety lock on it til the attack was over.
i'd gone through the room he gave it to me twice. first time just past, and i saw him sitting on stairs and talking to a group of people. now he was running too and the room was abandoned.
the room next door had a curtain open. across the lake and trees, i saw a giant cloud approaching. attack number 2.
i laid down amd covered my ears and head and braced.
because you know, dream logic! 1: there was a sound when the wave hit but not then the bomb landed. 2: the glass in the window didnt shatter. incredible.
after the second one passed, i got up and kept looking. not too long after, i found a room. the person in it was a streamer i watch sometimes and it looked like she was a music teacher???? kinda?? she had lots of instruments around. the room was J shaped. she let a few more people in. there was a bed and a teeny tiny desk with a quran on it??? and a few blankets.
the people she let in were all talking and being loud which i didnt like but whatever. oh and it was dark the whole time. as soon as i stopped exploring and settled in, BOOM. third explosion. we all rattled together and then......that was the end. i didnt have my phone and i didnt live in this weird place so i just curled up in the corner with some blankets while everyone filed out and into the halls. doors wouldnt lock anymore.
2 people from work found me, but they werent looking for me. they were looking for silver spoons. i have no idea. finally, i checked the small silver box the old woman gave me. it had a rolled letter in it. i dont know what it said.
eventually, hot wheel boy found me and took me out. he said that they think 4k people died as a result. which is insane itd been like 30 minutes since the last one. a couple hours since the first.
anyway thats it i woke up as we walked out. fucking insane.
TL:DR i dreamt i survived 3 explosions and ran through a maze

10 Anti LO Asks
1. ok but thats also i think i dont get? because without the series or character names, what of any of the promo images or banner or anything else give away it's supposed to be a greek mythology story? they just look like people with weird anatomy who are colored like highlighters. at the very least some iconography should be on them, but there's not? like even percy jackson stuff makes sure to give him a trident and have water flowing around him.
2. rachel made three times where persephone could have made the choice to be with hades willingly and didnt do it each time. first time she was drugged and put into his car, where he phsyically handles her unconscious body and puts her in his bed (ew). second is her working for him, which was hera forcing it. third was her going to the underworld not because she wanted to, but because she was hiding from the law/apollo and he found her. where exactly is her agency in all of this?
3. LO seems like the fast food of webtoons. because there's no room to speculate or theorize, you just read an episode and move on, the bright colors distract that it's a rushed and lazy product over something with high quality and effort, the characters are flat and boring, and the plot has no substance. it's meant to be consumed in a rapid binge, because if not you realize what low-effort and what little you're actually getting from it when you slow down and actually think about it.
4. i mean rachel does have some logic to her fancasting, the problem is it seems the only people of color are either demonized for being hypersexual (aphrodite, eros until he's with psyche) or are literally r//pists who are out to harm her white-fa casted persephone (apollo), so yeah, there is logic there, it's just pointing to rachel being (hopefully unintentionally) racist
5. It pisses me so much that I work over time (using references and looking at paintings and reading history for ideas for interesting character motifs) so that any of the ancient greek characters I draw look cool and authentically greek, and yet fucking Rachel Smythe, who can't even be bothered to do more than 5 seconds of research to learn that not all ancient greek outfits were shitty, minimalist off white and eggshell, gets to be revered as an artistic revolutionary. It pisses me off so. Fucking. Much. Not just for me, but for everyone else like me who absolutely ADORES greek mythology and wants to draw accurate portrayals of these characters! To whoever is reading this, stop. Stop rn and go read Sleep and His Brother Death (a comic on webtoons), go play Hades (the video game), go read The Song of Achilles (a book by Madeline Miller). Those are beautiful pieces of fiction about Greek mythology that deserve your attention more then Rachel and her shitty pink highlighter self inserts.
And a sidenote, I know that this is kinda like a modern AU for the gods. I am aware. Does not change that fact that anytime any character is drawn in ancient greek fashion it's always the SAME. SHITTY. CHITON. Maybe with a.cape or a scarf, but for the most part? It's just the same stupid, off white chiton.
6. oh, i thought you guys were joking persephone is now stuck with red eyes. is that seriously what look we're stuck with now? does rachel know it looks really ugly?
7. i feel like the lineart less style actually hurts LO in a way. way too often you can look at a panel and it becomes really murky where something starts and ends, and it looks even worse on a phone screen, because on an even smaller screen the images look even more compressed, making it even harder to tell stuff apart. this wouldnt be as bad if the comic took back up its more high contrast look from the begging, but now it's all one flat shade and im not sure why.
8. im really confused over the marketing of LO, tbh. like the ads are all hxp focused, but the series name implies its not about them, but focusing on the 12 olympians, but then the synopsis is general mythology and at the very end randomly mentions its about persephone? but then you read it and nots sure whether its a teen romance, a comedy, a serious drama, and can't stay straight with its messaging and timeline? and persephone is not there for a chunk of time. like whats actually going on?? 😭
9. Chapter 173 is like 50% filler. It gives more questions that answers, and not just from the reporters. Like the reporter stuff was mostly filler, and the Persphone and Hades stuff was like yeah we know dont need to drag this on.
My questions are WHAT ARE THE RED EYES? Is it when she’s mad? Horny? Sad? Happy? I feel like the red eyes just show up whenever RS wants to draw them
Flying? I feel like Persphone has always been flying like it wasn’t a bug moment at all. She flew home when Minthe and Hades kissed. But apperently Demeter didn’t know? I guess I don’t remember her flying in the mortal realm but her flying didn’t seem like a big moment, none of the other characters seemed surprised by it.
“Answer mine first!” When i got to that line I reread some of it just to find where the question was. That line normally matters when you’ve already asked the question not if you haven’t gotten there yet. Like of course Demeter is gonna be worried and ask a million questions.
I know the pomegranate pin is gonna be important but I felt the focus on it was a little too much, like an excuse not to cover more this chapter. Because honestly it felt like 5 minutes of the plot was covered in this chapter.
10. So uh, whats up with Hades weird ass comments... Like "Persephone you look beautiful and if someone says otherwise they can go play on the highway" ???
Because Persephone looking good during a murder trial is clearly the most important thing here.
Also, Perse's response to the reporter who asked her about her friendship with Hades. I mean, on one hand Persephone is right, her "friendship" (or whatever it is they have going on) is nobodies business but her own - but at the same time, its kinda also the underworld denizens right to know in the sense that their future leadership could be affected so they might want to know whats going on if their getting a new co-ruler / Queen that they will be subjects of. They probably will want to know who Persephone is, should she and Hades get married because it's very likely that when (cause lets be real its a 'when' not 'if' they get married) they do get married that Persephone will inherit half the title.

ok ok ok i am aware it's a bit late for buzzfeed au ideas B U T....what if the reason Tim believes in ghosts and stuff and starts buzzfeed unsolved supernatural is BECAUSE when jason was a ghost and dead would mess around with Tim as the new robin kinda non-chalantly. like with Bruce in Gotham knights awhile back. ok ok so i haven't actually read that far into the gotham knights issues eek BUT i think i can get a grip on this wonderful idea......
now i'm imagining ghost jason trying so hard to freak tim out (maybe enough to get the poser to fuck off) but at first it just. doesn't phase him at all. mostly because all jason can manage pulling off are stupid things like blowing tim's cape into his face on a windless night ten times over, or making his computer bug out and crash in the middle of case work (or perhaps cracking tim's door open before he gets back home from patrol, fully geared up,,, you know, just in case a certain dad wants to walk in and check on his "totally not a vigilante" son) BUT all tim has to say about this stuff for a while is "meh should probably sleep more" until jason, purely out of annoyance, starts doing the most stereotypical paranormal activity shit possible like flipping lights on and off or knocking shit over, not even expecting tim to notice because really how can you notice that but not someone rearranging your utility belt everyday? tim goes apeshit, like full on it's always sunny moment with the conspiracy board, the rest of the fam is thinking of staging an intervention. jason eats this up.
and i'm also gonna operate under the assumption that when jason comes back, much like in his death, he's just looking to fuck with tim saying he doesn't believe which,, LOL i love it. in this au i am electing to ignore that jason tried to kill tim because ghost jason had too much fun messing with him (and if he's being honest, being a ghost was scary as shit so the outlet was appreciated) cue a team up for a case or something and tim eventually starts talking about his ghost experience and how it's been oddly absent. and what is jason if not an opportunist, amiright?? long story short jason totally signs himself up for brother bonding time by way of hunting ghosts and riling tim up by saying it's all bs. do u know how many new gadgets they've gotten bruce to reluctantly agree too "because it'll help on patrol" or how many visits to one john constantine (who totally knows what's up btw) they've arranged?? going to supposedly haunted areas in gotham, jason absolutely disregarding any and all advice they've been given and giving tim a fucking heart attack. (not to mention how many of these "investigations" have been interrupted by an actual fucking crime, resulting in a few rumors that robin screams like a girl — he does NOT, thanks so much) meanwhile every actual paranormal case ends up in the lap of literally any other batfam member

I can see Jensen not telling J*red even if they are still friends, because J*red is kinda good at accidentally telling Secrets. He could have told him right before he announced it so, so that J*red didn't have to find out from twitter. He was on the show for 15 years, he is bound to get asked about it. The public twitter meltdown was really unprofessional so. Like you have Jensen's number J*red. You could have sorted that out in private like a normal person, but instead you choose to act like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
Is it weird that I'm actually going to be kinda that for them if the actually had a falling out, even tho I don't like J*red all that much. They seemed to be really important to each other and while I thought before that the might have triefted apart a bit, I didn't think that the where actively fighting.

Red String of Fate
A/N - Not really genshin, its more of a quick vent drabble. Angsty and nsfw for triggering topics and gory stuff :’) I felt kinda proud of this one which is why I’m posting it, any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!!

I’m a murderer.
Red string idly tied around my pinky, delicately swaying with every whisper from the wind. Caressed and woven into this world by fate. A gentle binding, thread spilling down to my foot and loosely littering the wooden panels of my floor with loops and twirls. Adorning the dust and encasing me whole in its meaning.
Its promise.
I’ve always hated being bound, held and grasped by an irrevocable hold. Ones I’ve put myself in, ones others have clutched me in.
Pinching the red string that hung around my finger, I tugged at one of the loose ends of the knots.
Ones that the red string of fate has tied me to. Several, tangling along the jagged ridges of my knuckles and slipping past the gaps between my fingers. A soft velvet against dry skin, the calloused pad of my thumb gentle when nimbly rolling it along the back of my palm. Silken texture brimming in abundance and pulsing in rhythm akin to one of heartbeat. Slow, steady, eternal.
Full of life.
The darkness in the cramped space of the apartment cages me in like an animal, body growing numb and sending a tingling sensation up my spine. Subduing aching muscles into a deep heavy sleep, complexion falling into well needed slumber. Till it was just the consistent thrum of the thread along my hand that held me awake, fate wrapping its hold on me once again.
Snip.
The motion is always slow, prolonged with the weight of the scissors in my hands. A spectator to the red thread as it slowly dissolves into ash, a ticking time bomb to the end of a life. Another. Seeping at their lifeline until the string finally dissolves at their fingertips, draining the last of their existence and sparing mine.
Greedy for comfort, I selfishly choose myself.
I can’t feel my elbows as I lean forward, ice prickling at my toes and cold slivers digging into my fingertips. Hazy, guilt eats me up like the snowstorm that enraptures my body in snow. Freezing me in place and biting at my mind, frosty reach clawing at my sanity.
But its my body thats numb, I wish my head was.
To be pliable with the nothingness that threatens to devour me, stained and greasy hands fervently scratching the fibers of my tunic. Dirty, I was oh so dirty. Contaminated with a bubbling hatred that quelled inside, pounding with deprecating fists that begged to get out. Pleading, because hands and knees dug for an eternity on the ground wouldnt be suffice to the lives I’d taken. But thread against skin arose an anxiety I could not thwart. Until I was no longer sure how long I’d spent sitting on this desk, staring into the pale grey walls of my apartment. Absent. Knives and scissors littering the corners of the wood, small chunks scraped with only the splinters in my nails to blame. Soiled hands incapable of holding life, a desperate cry to the heavens to spare me the responsibility, to let me go.
Because no matter how feather light the thread felt, the weight of a life pulled me under. Down into the depths of anxiety, because no matter how much I choked in the sea, I could not breathe. No matter how much my arms flailed, I could not rise. No matter how much I screamed, I couldn’t be heard. Not by others, not even myself.
String grows laden with water, a weight pulling me down to the bottom where I cannot rise.
I’m sinking.
The strand pulls me into a gentle hold of uncertainty, coaxing me into the decision to choose myself again and again. Until I’m hesitant to determine whether snipping the vibrant red cord is a punishment or a relief. To finally make it to the shore of the beach, form lifeless against grains of sand. Condemned in self pity, looking for the blood on my hands.
My hands are clean.
I want to cry because they shouldnt be.
An endless cycle when the waves wash over my ragged form, snaking through my legs and under my arms. Sand letting the sea take me. The murky water is salty against my tongue, and I can only feel the dim sensation of something around my finger before I’m once again plummeting down.
But I always come back up.
Unable to rectify my crimes, I keep adding onto the list, nails slowly biting into the wood of my desk as I mark another one. Another death.
Snip.
I’m so cold.
But regret is like a spider, a horrid looking thing that scales up my leg, embedding sharp legs into the icy numbness of my shins. It leaves me petrified, the idea of swatting away leaving me with immense disgust. So does leaving it there. I don’t want to touch it, not when its on my thigh, on my stomach, up my shoulder blades. Not when it slowly makes its way across my arm, flexing its angular legs until it reaches my hand. Spiders terrify, they make people do things they dont mean to do. So does regret, reaching my frostbitten hands and sending a rush of warm blood. It's a spiking pain that hits, biting the soft skin of my palm and leaving ugly red flush in its wake.
Regret was my drive. My push when I decided to sever the digits that let fate take control.
It was easier to grasp the knife on the side when I was running on raw hatred and self loathing. When my hands were throbbing and I could picture the red string that held me captive, feel the thread palpitate against my finger. Knowing with certainty that someone was on the other end of that string.
Bound to them.
The first few fingers were easy, blade sharp against unnourished and neglected skin. Soft ligaments and weakened bones posed no threat to my determination, body willing to my wishes. One by one, until the hilt was in my mouth and I was shaking my head back and forth with a strength I hadnt had for days. Wooden splinters buried themselves in the cracks of my teeth, gagging when the tail of the handle caught on the inside of my cheek and dug further into my mouth. I didnt stop, not until I was cutting the wood of the desk.
Until all ties to this wretched fate were cleaved.
Hands all but circular blobs of discolouration, blue and purple tinting the tips of bumpy flesh and splintered bones. Blood coated pads that soaked into the rotten planks of wood, spilling over the desk and onto the floor.
Finally. Finally my hands were stained in blood.
Not nearly as much as their ought, but it served its reminder perfectly. A pang of relief slipping through my body just like the crimson liquid that oozed down to the floor. Matting the hollow lines between floor panels with trickles of blood and soaking into my socks.
I was free.
Eyes fluttering closed, the sharp icy pain was gone, shock taking over my body and leaving me motionless. Solace was an odd little thing, consolation after actions of regret. But it was warm, and I could dimly register the ease that spread through my body like a drug. Bitter tasting but leaving me weightless, mind overdosing on the dopamine that pumped through my veins. Vasoconstriction quickening my pulse and leaving me breathless in the best way.
I was free.
Delusional satisfaction left my head buzzing and I didnt know if I was smiling or my face seemed to rise. Eyes rolling to the back of my head before returning to my sockets, head tilting forwards and nearly touching the puddle of blood on the desk. But I was happy, I was free.
Until I wasnt.
Till a bright red string settled once again, blurred vision transfixed on the way it slackened right above my collarbone, below my chin.
Around my neck.
It was soft, warm as I struggled to realize it was someone elses heartbeat pressing against my jugular. Throbbing at an inconsistent pace and sending my thoughts into a whirlwind of activity. Till all I could think about was taking the scissors in my hand, grip firm and unrelenting to the viscous game destiny played.
Snip.
The realization came too late, palm on the base of the tool when it occurred to me I couldnt grab it. Simply watch as blood slipped through the gaps where my fingers shouldve been, pain seizing my wrist and presenting itself to me for the first time. It was electric, jolts of torment taking me by surprise and leaving me stunned. Shocked, but not enough to tip me off my high. Wretched grin widening across my face when I stared down at the red string, parched lips letting out a measly croak as I spoke. “You outplayed me.” Because at that moment it all felt strangely hilarious, pain building up in the nonexistent slim skin of my fingers. It was as if I could still feel them, and a feverish laugh spilled from the bosom of my throat as I sagged, shoulders shaking.
The realization was bittersweet and brief before I leaned my forehead on the puddle of blood, baring with the pain of my actions. The consequences to my regrets.
I cannot escape fate.

Okay, this makes more sense as to why they both disappeared -- Vrissy is either trying to get her back or is going along and just being grousy about it, or one under the pretense of the other or the like.
By the way, if Rose specifically planned in a way that involved telling Vriska to sit on the sidelines and not doing anything, shouldn’t she ABSOLUTELY KNOW, one-hundred percent with a combination of her Seer of Light powers and common sense, that Vriska will Not Do That? --so whatever Vriska is about to do I’m going to assume Rose has accounted for it, unless she’s like...
...sworn off using her powers much, or something. That would super suck and I would hate for that to be in this story regardless of themes.
Vriska Maryam-Lalonde, recently "Vrissy," and potentially "You Are So Grounded You Are Never Leaving The House Again," isn’t what’s commonly referred to as an "outside girl".
She likes grass. It’s fine! To look at. And so are trees, as long as they’re somewhere off in the distance, swaying gently in the breeze. Trampling through them is not on the list of acceptable tree activities. Vrissy is already sweaty and dirt-streaked, and there’s probably like fifty gnats trying to drink her eye fluids. At this rate she almost envies Tavros his role as Batterwitch Bait. Sure, he has to pretend to be threatened by Vrissy’s mom, which is lame as hell and also very embarrassing, but at least his eye fluids are safe.
So she’s fine with this in principle, just not with the work involved? Or--

Oh shit. I forgot about that from the previous update: "JOHN: but rose sent out some false intel about us heading toward my house, so technically this is the safest place we can be right now, since they cleared the area and everything." He really does have to come to terms with the fact that Jane just tried to murder them all, too, so shit is definitely real.
...Which makes the fact that he didn't rush off to guard the kids in response to THAT NEW FACT still pretty galling, but.

Secret Voight S2 Part 4 (Jay Halstead)
Summary: With the team now knowing you are Voight's daughter. That's one problem down but Voight still doesn't know about you and Jay. Unless he already knows.

You had left Jay in your apartment while you go talk to this Joe guy. His file said he always went to the same bar. You walked into the bar and spot him sitting alone. Joe gave you a once over. "Last time I drink with one of you, I ended up in jail,"
You scoffed and ignored it. "I know how this works, you took care of Justin inside and now you think he owes you. Justin doesn't owe you jack shit. You hear me? Jack shit,"
Joe takes a sip of your drink. "You can't arrest someone for hanging out with friends,"
You looked Joe. "No, but I can arrest you for the drugs I'm going to find in your car. Don't fuck with me,"
You were sitting in Intelligence the next day and Voight hands out a case file to everyone. You opened up the file and saw that there was two girls that were raped, murder and their ears were cut off. Voight cleared his throat. "They're calling him the Riverwalk Killer. Mayor is flipping out on the superintendent, who us flipping out of the Chief. None of that matters to me. Two women are dead and went through something hoffic. It isn't going to happen again,"
Antonio looked up from the file and addressed the team. "There were no witnesses. Area control searched every crimes scenes and found nothing on physical evidence,"
Ruzek looked at Dawson. "Pods?"
Voight pointed at no one in particular. "Detectives from New York SVU are in route right now to help out,"
You looked back at the file. "They also had two victims killed in their city two days apart,"
Voight nodded. "Traffic camera picked up a male, white, 5'10 wearing a hoodie following both victims. but they couldnt get a clear visual on his face,"
Jay looked at Lane. "What about sex offenders?"
"Nothing pops out. Plus, no DNA yet off ant of the victims,"
Voight walked to his office but stopped and looked at us. "We aren't waiting for that. We get proactive m. Boots on the ground. I want everyone working the river for suspicious behavior. Dress the part,"
You were walking on part of the river while the team walked the other part. Well beside Voight and Lane, they were in the surveillance van. Antonio had came through the radio saying that he saw a suspicious person and was walking towards Jay. Jay being Jay ran after him and chased after him.
After running his name, you guys didnt like him for the crime and still took him in to see if he had any information. He said that there was a guy around five in the morning that he remembers giving off the vibe of either a cop or a criminal.
It was an hour after you talked to the guy from the park and the detectives from New York were now here and you all had introduced yourself. Rollins was standing next to the board, also near Voight. "The only connection we can see is a trade show convention in New York at the time of the murder us here in Chicago now. Its at the Rittenshiuse convention center,"
Voight looked at Lane. "Lane,"
"On it,"
You crossed your arms and walked over to your desk and leaned on it. "Who is this guy? What are we looking for?"
Rollins looked at you and then to the rest to them team. "This guy had been elevated ri serial killer status. I mean, in terms of the rape and murder, there are five types of different profile psyches. I think we are looking at the anger retaliatory rapist,"
Ruzek nodded but looked confused. "Why the ear? I get that hes a sadistic son of a bitch and everything, but us he trying to establish street cred or?"
Tutuola, the other detective from New York who was sitting next to him answered. "Ususally a souvenir or a trophy m. Sometimes, they make a shrine,"
Voight nodded. "How long do we have you for?"
"As long as you need us,"

Lane does his magic and finds fourty five men who were at both conventions and showed him to the guy you took in eariler. He ID a Jeffery Baker which you and Jay were now waiting for. He was in a panel and its set to release at anytime. Jay looked at you. "Have you talked to Justin?"
You looked at him. "Kinda been busy with you know the case,"
"You need too. Voight is gonna kick my ass, if he finds me,"
You walked up to Jay and grabbed his chin gently. "He won't find out and when I see Justin next, I will kick his ass, okay?"
Jay was about to kiss you, but he looked behind you. "There,"
You looked over and saw Jeffery walking out of the room. You and Jay walked over to where he was. "Jeffery Baker?"
He looked up from his phone and looked at you two weird. "Yes?"
"Detective Voight and Halstead, Chicago P.D,"
Jay walked up next to you. "Apparently, there's been some damage to your hotel room. Housekeeping made a complaint,"
Jeffery looked at you. "I didn't recant damage,"
Jay placed a hand on Jeffery's back and pushed him to start walking. "Great, we can clear that up at the station,"

Jay and you were now sitting in one of the interview rooms with Jeffery. Jeffrey wasn't saying anything more than what he was answering.
"How long have you been in town?"
"Five days,"
"From St. Louis?"
"Yep,"
Jay asked him a question now. "Have you been to the Riverwalk?"
"What does that have to do with my hotel room?"
"I'll ask again, you been to the Riverwalk?"
"I have?"
"When?"
"I have a suspicion that I'm not here about a hotel room,"
You didnt break eye contact. "What else would you be here for?"
"I havent the foggiest,"
"I'll ask again when and what time where you down at the Riverwalk?"
"Do you guys got Internet here? Theres a great video on YouTube from this law-school professor called 'dont talk to the police' no ooffense,"
Jay slammed his hand on the table and walked over to where Jeffery was sitting. "You're not in St. Louis, anymore. We have two rape-murders in the last few days, and your gonna answer some questions about that,"
Jeffrey had this stupid smile on his face since you took him in and Jay was getting tired of it. Frankly, you too. "Wipe that stupid smile off your face,"
Jeffery dropped his smile and then looked at Jay. "I will remove the smile as requested, to tell you very seriously, that you have the wrong guy,"
You were about to say something when there was knocks on the door and Antonio pops his head in and nodded at you two you to come talk to him outside in the hallway. "There's been another rape down at the Riverwalk. Victim survived. She's at Med,"
You and Dawson decided that it would be you and him that goes and see this vicitm at Med while Jay worked on getting infromation from Jeffery.
You walked into the room where Vanessa was, She looked at you and you saw how badly beaten this little girl is. Her one eyes was completely swollen shut. There was briuses and cuts all over her face. Your heart shattered. "Hi, Vanessa. I'm Detective Voight and this is Detective Dawson, and we're here to try to-"
Before you even could finish the sentence, she talked. "I'll do whatever I can do to help you catch him,"
"Thank you,"
Dawson walked up to the front of her bed while you were sitting in a chair next to her bed. "Can you take us through what happened?"
Vanessa nodded. "I'm on the soccer team at school, so I liked to get a run in after practice and out of nowhere, this guy appears in a brown hoodie with a mask,"
"Did he say anything?"
"Just to shut up and not to scream. He then, took me down to a dark area under the stairs and thats when he did what he did,"
"Is there anything you could see on him scars, a birthmark, a tattoo?"
"No,"
"Weight? Height?"
She looked at Antonio. "About your height, a little bigger. He had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes,"
"Anything else that could help idenity this man?"
"When he took his knife out something kicked in. We just had this self defense class at school, and the instructor said htat if you don't remember anything else, you should slap, grab, twist and pulled. That's what I did.
You were happy that her school did this class. It saved her life. "I glad you did. Where you able to leave a mark?"
"I got my thumbnail stuck in his eye and that when he fell out of me and I ran,"
You placed a hand on her shoulder gently. "You did amazing. Thank you for helping us,"
After you got done with Vanessa, you and Antonio drove back in slience as you were too heartbroken to talk. You went and told Voight about what Vanessa said, and kicked Jeffery. You were now in the break room when Jay comes in and shuts the door alone. You heard the door shut and you looked over and saw Jay was there. He walked up to you and place a hand on your cheek. You leaned into it. "Are you okay?"
You shook your head. "She's only 19 and she was beaten brutally. She wants us to tell the person who did this that they didn't break her. Let me tell you, that little girl is something else,"
Jay didn't say anything but pulled you closer to him and wrapped his arms around you. You allowed yourself to relax in them but the moment didn't last long because you heard the door start to open and he quickly let go of you and in comes Ruzek which told us that we were needed in the lobby. Rollins was the first one to address the team. "Okay, if the prep was rational, he would skip town knowing that the heat is on. There's a good chance he's still in town, so most likely he's angrier,"
Tutuola nodded. "He probably has a good idea that he left DNA under the victim's thumbnail and that's he gonna be I.D soon, so he's gonna need to strike soon while he still has a chance,"
Voight looked at Tutuola and then to the rest of us. "All right, hospital and clinics, check with foot patrol down at the Riverwalk. Beat the buses on this guy,"

Burgess was the one who found Neil Vance and he's likely the prep. The team was outside the hotel that he was staying at while Al and Ruzek were inside the hotel. You and Jay of course was in one car. "What if Voight does find out?"
You rolled your eyes as you were getting tired of this convestion. "I don't know. We'll cross that bridge when he have too. Stop brining it up right now as we have an important case we are working on,"
You guys were there for a good half an hour before Al comes over the radio about how Jeffrey Baker walked into the hotel and Voight told Al and Ruzek to take him.
We were now back in Intelligence, sititing the lobby area. Antonio was looking over the details of the case. "Baker is from St. Louis. Vance is from Shreveport. Not sure how they met,"
Tutuola answered Antonio. "Some deviant chat room most likely,"

Tutuola nodded towards his partner. "Like the Columbine killers, the D,C snipers. the Menendez brothers and those two yahoos who blow up the boston marathon,"
"Yeah, the dominant force is psychopathic and/or sadistic. The submissive partner is depressed. He's dependent. The leader is going to be charamastic, you know, enthusiatic. He's looking for a follower to manipulate, while the subordinate he's vulerable. He feels lost. He needs someone to lead him,"
You walked up to the board and pointed at Jeffery. "Guarnteed, Baker is the dominant one,"
"Where's Baker right now?"
Jay looked over at Voight annoyed. "Interview room. He's all lawyered up,"
"Not for long. Put him in the cage,"
As Jay was walking over to you, you heard Tutuola ask Kevin and Ruzek what the cage was but no one answered him so he looked very confused. You had to sniffle a laugh with a cough. Jay looked at you werid. "You okay?"
You nodded. "Yeah,"
"Laughing at Tutuola's question about the cage?"
"More like his reaction when no one answered him,"
Jay smiled and chuckled.
After maybe thirty minutes of being in the cage with Voight, Baker gives up Vance and said that he is meeting him at Navy Pier. When we got there, we all spreaded out. You all mainly stayed on the Pier but Ruzek went towards the water. Al and Jay went on one of the boots. After a good ten fifteen minutes of looking for him, Ruzek comes over the radio and he is clearly talking to Vance but he doesn't want to let him know he is talking to the team. Voight asked twice where we was at and Ruzek hinted at where he was which was the Marilyn Yatch. You took notice of the woman he was holding hostage. You ran over where the Yatch was and got there just as Voight did. You walked over to your father. "Call SWAT,"
Voight shook his head and put his radio to his lips. "There's no time for that. Halstead and Olinsky, move into postion,"
Vance noticed that the team was standing there watching and address us as a group. "We are going to back out of here. The moment I see someone flash metal at me, she's dead I mean it!"
Ruzek put his hands out trying to calm down the sitution. "None of that needs to happen, all right. We're not going anywhere,"
Voight radioed. You got the shot?"
You heard Olinsky come back. "Affirmative,"
"Take the shot,"
Olinksky takes the shot and within seconds Vance drops to the ground as the woman screams. You ran over to her and comforts her.

You were finishing up reports after you came back from the Pier. Everyone else had left before Voight, Tutuola, and Rollins. Voight was in his office with the door shut and Tutola was in the car waiting for Rollins to come. "I have a couple of questions for you,"
I looked up from the report and saw Rollins was standing in front of you. "Go for it,"
Rollins looked towards Voight's office and before she could even ask you, you knew what the first question was going to be. "Yes, he's my father and no he didn't have anything to do with me being place in Intelligence,"
"Well that's one question answer. By the way, I didn't think he did,"
You nodded. "The second question?"
"Are you and Jay-?"
Your heart sped up as she started. "No,"
Rollins, clearly didn't believe you. "Just be careful. Dating your partner or having feelings for him doesn't end well,"

Its been a few hours since the case was finshed and you were at your apartment waiting on Jay to come over with take out when you heard someone knock on the door. You get off the couch and you walked over to the door. You opened it and noticed that it was Justin. He walked past you into your apartment. You weren't really expecting Jay for a good ten to twenty minutes. Justing turned around and looked at you and his entire face screamed scared and worried. You walked up to him. "Are you okay? What's wrong?"
Justin couldn't figure out to say. "I just um, um I just. I didn't want to but I had to you know?"
He looked down at his hands you looked down at this and place his hands in yours. His hands were bloody. "What the hell did you do?"

I've been wanting to do comics but I'm kinda scared, my story telling is not the best- Any advice?
NO FEAR. JUST MAKE.
If your storytelling isn’t the best, all I can really say is examine story forms and see what you like about the stories you go back to and what you hate about stories you avoid. (For example I like stories where the main character has a very real threat of death/permanent consequences and I really hate stories where dogs die lol) Look up things like the hero’s journey and story patterns like if a story starts negative and just goes up (like a fairytale) or wanders around a bit before hitting the climax and chilling out (standard).
Start small; with comics do single-panel jokes to 4-koma to ten pages and on and on. you REALLY gotta nail ‘letting shit end’ before you start a long ass story (which will be longer than it needs to be bc you didnt plan that shit First.) It doesn’t have to be concrete but at least have a general idea of how shit goes down and important events/themes/character growth.
Also some general rules of thumb;
-you should probably have at least one establishing shot in each page.
-have characters of varying sizes; dont let each panel have the same sized character.
-don’t shy away from drawing the full character, too. all shots from just waist-up can get boring, but if its a shorter comic most people wont notice.
-have characters interact with the environment. Lounging on couches, knocking shit over, pulling stuff from the fridge.
-’when you know the rules feel free to break them’ AKA get tired and do what you want.
-if it makes sense its probably fine. also most people dont know jack shit about anatomy so if it looks fine it probably is.
-if emotions are extreme; BREAK THEIR FACES.*

ugh i know i’ve made this post before but i’m honestly just in awe of how much and how quickly my studies/perception of my own abilities turned around last semester. like i’ve struggled so much with impostor syndrome and not feeling like i’m good enough or feeling less than. i’ve struggled a lot with my sense of self, especially through having adhd, i was the typical case of doing really well in high school and having rly inflated ambition etc and then going to university and crashing and burning (multiple times) i tried studying like 3 or 4 different things and ending up hating it/dropping out after a semester until i finally started studying film when i was 23. it kind of felt like a last hope for me like i even remember when i did my big 6 month backpacking trip before i moved to melb i was in toronto hanging out with my friend who was trying to convince me to get a work visa and move there and work with him and i told him i was thinking id go back to aus and start studying again but that id consider it and i remember he made like a flippant remark about me trying study again like it wasnt intended to be rude but just that he knew that id hated uni every time id gone lkjlkjsf and even when i started the course i knew that like it was kinda my last hope of getting a degree which had always been a big goal of mine, i felt shit about myself a lot of my best friends from high school had already graduated at this point and i just felt hopeless - and studying something creative after feeling for so long like it wouldnt yield a stable future was a bit of a ‘fuck you i’m done’ kinda move on my part too lol but even through the first year and a half (and even a smidge beyond that) i was battling back and forth whether to drop out and i cried about it to my therapist numerous times because i didnt feel good enough and that it was hopeless etc and that everyone else was better than me, more focused than me. i couldnt even sit through films without being on my phone bc my adhd wouldnt let me so how the f was i gonna work in the industry lmao ! it was so challenging bc i legit didnt know what id do if i dropped out !!! but i just kinda kept going no matter how miserable i was and how much i was sobbing in week 13 writing my essay or how much i felt like everyone in the course were making friends with each other but i had no one or how scared i was to share my ideas with people !!!! i literally felt so bad in every way !!!
but like through small building affirmations things just keep getting better !!! last semester i pitched a concept for a 16mm short film and it was one of the 4 ideas chosen out of like 25 to be made and i had the most rewarding experience directing the project and made amazing connections with people and created something actually amazing ??? the teachers had almost no negative feedback for it and i got the best grade i’ve ever received lol and i made some rly good friends and got a lot of positive reinforcement from the actors and people saying that i struck a rly good balance with directing and that i was amazing to work with !!! but even after that experience going into 3rd year and beginning major projects i had reservations and felt really nervous because i didnt feel prepared and i was worried that people wouldnt like my idea or after only having written/directed for all of my projects so far i felt like i had to Perform again. the the impostor syndrome - though a lot more muted than before bc i have positive experiences to lean back on!! - was kinda there again like this idea that everything i’ve accomplished so far has been a fluke and that people are gonna realise im dumb etc. etc. lmao but like ! ive pitched an idea and people i dont even know from the course have reached out saying they love it and want to work on it with me and i have basically a full crew ?? just need someone on sound?? and we havent even had the class where we have discussions about it and talk more in depth, thats solely based on a less than 2 minute video pitch and ive had so much interest !!! and it just feels so nice !! like i know this isnt the end, we still have to get greenlit by the panel before it will move ahead to production but its just so validating to have people behind you who show interest and passion toward ur ideas !!
and ive been chatting to other people about ideas and their film concepts/chatting about helping out with other roles on other films for ppl bc u can do that and id love more hands on experience on sets so im trying to get into sound design and production design bc like no ones gonna hire a film student grad as a director kljlkjsf you gotta be a worm !
but like basically this is a really long winded way of saying that i cant believe people actually really value my ideas and my vision and feedback. i got this message from one of the most intelligent people i’ve ever met and like... just two bros being in awe of each other... cleansing
honestly like !! if you read this far wig go off !! i havent done one of these long winded feelings dumps in a long time but its like good and positive feelings moving forward, even in social iso i feel so connected and wonderful. peace n blessings love u all. chase ur dreams and dont give up !! @ past me and at all of u out there !! its gonna be ok keep going u got this bitch !!!

how do you plan/script your comics? (sorry if this has been asked before!)
hi! I kinda talked about how i plan comics here and here, if it helps! But hey you asked and it made me happy so have a longer post.
For Coffee (since it’s my latest big comic i can talk about it in a bit more detail) it started with me just staring blankly into space, trying to find a Cool Idea that was in line with my theme for this comic (”dream team”), and then THIS MOMENT came to me:
(a panel of someone stabbing someone!!! STAB!!!!!)
(a panel of someone looking down at someone else, tired and weary)
(another panel, they look at someone on the ground (alive? dead?)) “I dont think we can keep doing this, XXXX.”
or, as I wrote it in my rough notes:
which only makes sense to myself, cuz thats MY notes.
but yeah i saw this moment and i was like ooooOOOOOOOH MAN!!!! DUDE!!!! THATS GOOD SHIT!!!!! WOAH!!!!! YEYYEYAYAYH
I actually intended for this to be the very start of Coffee! you know, kind of a “HOW DID WE GET TO THIS?” prologue. but then it didnt make sense with the story i created so i had to cut it, boo!!!
and then from that I wrote the dialogue! Just little snippets, from that one moment, trying to figure out how we got here- who’s XXXX? who’s stabbing them? why? BETRAYAL? what are they tired of? WHATS GOING ON HERE? LET’S FIND OUT
and then it’s just writing snippets and putting them in some kinda order and also who cares about punctuation or names or anything that might help someone that’s not me figure out what the hell is going on
(keymashes are placeholders) (i did learn how to write scripts once upon a time but i draw comics on my own so who needs a well written script HUH?)
when i write my dialogue i usually have a basic idea of how each panel is gonna look, how many panels, etc, but i dont usually worry about that, this is the DIALOGUE stage DIALOGUE is IMPORTANT!!!!!
(if i do write down visual cues at this stage theyre still unknown to anyone but me. what does “aaaah” mean visually? BELIEVE ME, I KNOW.)
but adrienne this comic was for a comic jam thing and the constraint was that your comic needed to have a quote from a movie/tv show! oh yeah so i was like “hm if theyre assassins, something from the godfather maybe lmao” and i figured i’d think about it later and!!! while i was writing the dialogue i was like “and then X says ‘you think you can be happy without me or something.... stupid... NO WAY BABY, I’M IT’“ and i was like “THATS SUCH A GOOD LINE???? THATS SUCH A GOOD LINE THERES NO WAY I CAME UP WITH THAT SHIT” and i didnt because it was from Gone Girl. (taps side of my head) dont need to find a quote if ya brain just does it by itself
and then when i have all my dialogue pretty much 90% figured out its FIGURING OUT THE CHARACTER DESIGNS TIME
(nailed it first try) (also didnt figure out the barista’s design cuz this dummy only appears for one and a half panels!!!!! who cares about you barista guy. no one. except Y)
and then its EXCEL TIME
(each line is a panel) (i never fill the status column anymore because i try to draw pages chronologically so... i usually know where im at lmao)
at that stage i have a better idea of what’s on each page, in each panel, and i usually refine the dialogue here as well. this whole thing till now took like three, four hours
also i dont know where to put this but i always try to... kind of foreshadow the end thru expressions... and so i always keep in mind what each character is feeling at every panel! i dont always write it down but i ALWAYS remember. what i mean to say is that the second Y was like “arent you tired of this” X was immediately like “ooooooooooh this binch wants to leave me time to play dumb”
and then it’s thumbnails time
all done on procreate this time because it’s easier/faster/makes my drawings more loose and fun! just the thumbnails though because no text on procreate (AT THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!). just trying out poses and expressions, not really focusing on layout because weh. also at that stage i cut off one page! i had it roughed out but i cut it! right after X goes “lmao you’ll never have a normal life you loser” i IMMEDIATELY had a page with just. X’s dead body. eyes open and all. and it freaked me out!!!! so i removed it lmao that was too jarring even for me and i drew the damn thing. so BUH BYE
this took me. six hours...?
and then actual pages on photoshop!
(not pictured: refs and youtube with some kingdom hearts LPs open on my other screen)
and then drawing all the pages and resizing and exporting to PDF and then i went to bed cuz it was 3am.
that’s how cha girl plans comics i hope it helped and anyway it’s fine if it didnt because im gonna be honest i love writing about my process. thank you for reading

Again sorry for the late updates and to anyone who follows me because of my random and often spontaneous Vrains reviews i am working on my review but at the same time life seems to be getting in the way so sorry about that but never mind that onto the yugioh vrains review.
We open up with Re-destro clarifying how shigaraki decayed his attack in the3 official translation which should appease the padantic ass hats over on reddit as well telling us how re-destro`s been perfecting this technique since his childhood days which is something i hope horikoshi delve`s into wheather or not his family indoctrinated the beliefs of the MLA into Re-destro in much the same way AFO indoctrinated shigaraki or if he choose these beliefs of his own volition and his family disaproved or hell maybe they supported the beliefs too in short i want some backstory on RE-destro...also small detail but those heart palpatations shown in the second panel “Badump” “Badump” is most likely the downside to his stress based quirk and considering stress is one of the major causes of heart attacks i wouldnt be suprised if Re-Destro died or was significantly weakened because of this.
We also get a beutifull worded panal from horikoshi that really shows the extent of shigaraki`s drive for destruction also i love the pure malice in the face i and how its completly different from any of his other expressions and in this case the lack of detail really adds to the tension.
This panal also has me worried as from the beginning i was under the impression that this villain arc would develop shigaraki`s goal into his own ideology but considering that this was the prime oppurtunity i`m starting to have my doubts and though it wont bother me if shigaraki`s goal remains as pure chaotic destruction i have to wonder how that will effect the story as a whole all i know is that there has to be a skybeam if superhero movies have taught me anything its that theres always got to be a gigantic skybeam.
howvever again the official translation has it as “all i can do is destroy” making this even more tragic for shigaraki and i really just wanna give hima hug while he goes down this unhealthy self destructive path
We flashback to shigaraki`s past and as many people seem to have theorized it Shigaraki did indeed want to be a hero when he was a child also its hard not to notice the resemblance to little deku horikoshi`s kinda laying it on a bit thick but it doesnt matter that much to me
what i also like is that horikoshi doesnt portray it as black and white you can understand the complexitie behind his father and how in his own way he`s trying to protect him by cutting his dreams of being a hero short, does that make what he did right? of course not its still borderline abuse, though not physical that comes later. as well as being selfish and narrow minded but i can still appreciate the complexitie behind the father also noticibly Tenko`s absent from any scenes that portray his family in a less ..well there`s no other word for it, dickish fashion .
There`s something heartbreaking about shigaraki being compared to all might especially considering how much he detestes him also this is the second time its mentioned tenko didnt have a quirk yet now if they went to test him or not thats unknown however i have mixed feelings about the idea of afo giving shigaraki the quirk asi`m not particularly fond of backstorys of people being forced into villlainy by manipulating the chessboard in such a fashion so far its tolerable as it seems tomura was going to grow into a vilain without AFO`s guidence though thats not the theme of him as a character, and its afo who simply gave him the ability to become a powerfull villain though no matter what direction horioshi takes the story in i`m sure he has a plan for how his story will progress.
*Small note its nice how as a child shigaraki took the people no one wanted and played with thim rather similier to the Leugue
We also get the full details behind the office scene from chapter 227 and i`l raise my hands and say i did kinda blunder by suggesting that Hanna did actually want to become a house wife that was a mixture of weird scans and no energy. the idea of a hero sibling team with little tenko is adorable and i kinda wish we knew what the shimura quirk is it`l either be revealed in this arc by flashback or ,hopefully not, shigaraki gaining said quirk that or we have to wait for deku to unlock it.
Honestly these few panals are heartbreaking and though i enjoy the creative narrative that reminds me of earlier 80`s comics the way this scene plays out is utterly gripping this is the first time child abuse has been directly shown in this manga neither immplied or kept just out of frame its direct and raw.
Its heartbreaking to watch tenko endure this whilst everyone else looks on helplessly and it certainly adds some more nuance to deku and shigaraki`s little mall encounter and how his family is honestly a reflection of both hero sociaty as people just look on not bothering to do anything and is a genuine sociatal problem in japan as a whole if you want to considere this political commentary you can though i doubt horikoshis making this manga for that one purpose and its unlikely thats his purogative .
Honestly despite only being prominent in one chapter i already enjoy shigaraki`s dad as a character the conflict of emotions as no matter how you look at it nana chose her career over her child at whilst that might be for the better good, whole lot of it it did to, you can still understand the resentment he holds for her in a sense he`s Kota without a deku unable to let go of his resentment for being left behind
he even admits what he did was wrong and i feel this sums up shigaraki`s life best the fact taht it wasnt a tragedy from beginning to end much like Dabi`s presumably is it started off bleak and then escalated to a full on nightmare as we end on this disturbing panal of shigaraki anjd his poor corgi
all in all i enjoyed this chapter though to be honest i`d of preferred it if shigaraki could recall his backstory from the start of the seriese and have it leading up to this moment with a bunch of flashbacks scattered throughout as it adds such a complexity to him as a character but other wise i enjoyed it

The mid-episode information card showed an entry about “Intent for the Future” in response to the truth of the world. 49.7% of participants believe the talk of diplomacy implied Armin was the author, whereas 16.3% believe it was Hange. 13.9% think the contemplative tone may have been Eren’s doing.
I think the "intents for the future" is written by Hange, since it says "watashi" and only they have "the duty" to come up with a better plan than the rumbling.

Armin and Mikasa at the ocean scene was one of the BEST THINGS EVER.
I thought the animation in the first half was a little weak, but damn, I could watch Armin gaze fondly upon the ocean for hours. The animation there was on point.
Armin and Mikasa were so cute in the ocean scene, smiling and blushing!!! Seeing Armin's happy tears after finally seeing the ocean was really moving too!! <3 I'm sad though Eren couldn't enjoy it the same way as them...

The episode only covered chapter 90, but a majority of participants believed the anime did a faithful adaptation of the manga, with 78.6% saying it was near perfect.
It was fucking perfect and I even dare to say it was better than in the manga. Animation, background music, characters expressions, seiyuus - these made this episode so great. I really cried when I watched and listened to Eren talking about freedom and enemy, what didnt happen to me when I read it. I could feel his deep sadness and it was better shown how much he's changed. Kudos to everyone at studio WIT involved in snk and especially this episode
The pacing was a bit too slow. They could’ve picked up the pace a bit by maybe adding one more anime only scene. Also, they should have left off with Falco.

It felt so unreal, they did an incredible job of transcribing from the point of view of the characters and I think I felt at least as upset as they were by discovering the beautiful graphics of the ocean.

The anime altered the moment Eren sees the immobile titan by including him dismounting his horse and physically touching its head. 74.9% of participants thought the moment properly captured Eren’s newfound sympathy for the titans as fellow compatriots. 9.7% believe it made him look more sympathetic than in reality, and 5.7% didn’t think the change was needed.
It made more clean to the audience that Eren new target/enemy are not the titans anymore, now feeling pity for their compatriots. And his templance and tone remind us Kruger/Grisha presence on him, his hatred for Marley.
I was pinned on the spot, and I had to look at this passage several times to be sure of having seen well. Wow, Eren touched a titan and considers him "one of theirs". This passage was made without special emphasis, as if it was normal that Eren had compassion for a titan, and it really shaken me.
I think it was a rly nice addiction but I dont think its about Eren symphatizing with the titans, rather to me it shows Eren's melancholy of facing the truth about the titans. He wasnt feeling sympathy or pity for that titan, just the truth that it was once a person, the truth outside the walls, beyond the ocean.
it was an odd change but it kinda illustrated just how much of an impact memories/paths are having on eren’s mind

The ending credits revealed some scenes of the Attack on Liberio and its aftermath. 64.3% of participants felt the inclusion was a good way to build suspense for the final season, while 24.2% think the scenes were too subtle for anime viewers to react and specifically catered to manga readers.
As for the ending itself, it's a good thing they released extra pics, but the main issue; if you follow the anime, is this: the screencaps don't show where it's located, not when these events take place. It could take place on Paradis, it could mean the mean Marleys are attacking in full force again, or if we're this far in the manga, it could be assumed the characters at the sea have no choice but to become monsters to fight the monsters of the outside world... which goes against what the manga portrays when you take into account there's been 9 chapters dedicated to show the POV from the other side of the ocean.

There were a few scenes in the credits that were not illustrated in the manga. 53.2% of participants believe these will be future panels in the upcoming manga chapters, but 38% aren’t quite sure. A smaller 8.8% think the scenes are just for show or anime only and will not make a comeback in the manga.

One of the unillustrated scenes showed a girl in a school uniform among other students. 37.8% think the student is an Eldian, and 35.8% think she is Marleyan. 19.6% believe this is the future depicting a modern-day student. Will she be shown again? Some believe this is someone we already knew.
Also, I'm leaning towards the theory that the girl in the uniform is Lady Tybur when she attended a private school.
The girl student in the uniform is likely Ms Tybur (the Warhammer titan), as the school looks quite prestigious, and they are the only high class characters of importance in Marley. I hope this means that we might get a bit more on her character in the anime adaptation.

The brief preview announcement of the 4th season set to release confirmed it would be the anime’s final season. With the release date in the fall of next year, 44.6% of manga reading participants believe the manga series will conclude in mid to late 2020. 22.8% think the manga will end early in the beginning of next year, and 14.8% believe Isayama and the animation studio will work together to release the finale of both the manga and anime around the same time. As of recently, Isayama thinks he has about a year left to complete his story, but only time will tell when it actually ends.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
Not your usual beach episode lol. Wished the stinger is they show Falco looking up on sky in Fort Slava, but maybe it's too revealing for anime onlies?
I can't believe we've come this far already. Everything was beautifully done, the end credits were just absolutely poignant and the extra scenes have only made me more impatient for more Manga chapters.
It's probably the episode of Snk that caused the most emotion in me. Eren's seiyuu especially, but also Armin's were really excellent. The melancholy of Eren's voice, and the hope so fragile and so beautiful of Armin, appeared to me strikingly thanks to that. The separation that prefigures in EMA trio, and the dreams that break as they face what they had sought from the beginning pierced me.
That piano score that played throughout the end credits...Sure Sawano you can tear out my heart, this show's gotten me used to it anyway…
Also can I just say Mikasa in the ocean was really fucking adorable? Because she was. I've always had this headcanon that she would love the ocean because the half of her that isn't an Ackerman is from the ""East Sea Clan"" and so I would think coastal life and seafaring would be in her blood. This episode has only strengthened this headcanon for me. :)
I miss Erwin. I don't think that'll ever change, but duuudes Floch made me cry every harder. He's such a lost kid and he's alone in his grief. No one should be alone 😭
years of waiting and god has finally gifted us with a masterpiece.
The anime-only scenes were a very nice touch, and added to the emotion of the arc. Considering what's become of Eren and Floch (ugh) now, the scene where Eren touches the Titan, followed by Floch hanging behind for a moment, seemed quite telling. Can't wait to see the next season (and all the death and destruction that unfortunately accompanies it).
Honestly this season, and potentially the entire series was ruined for me because of how they handled Uprising. It was an alright adaptation, with some admittedly outstanding scenes, but the first part of the season really killed my hype for the second part.
Mikasa’s smile to Armin was the only part of this episode I thought was done more effectively than in the manga. She’s been through so much; it was sweet to see her out of her element in a GOOD way, WITH her family there. This scene cemented her as my 3rd favorite character.
I picked up on the little, subtle changes, and I really enjoyed them. WIT did an amazing job on this episode, and it was fairly lived up to.
There wasn't much filler, but I liked what they did with adding Grisha's distorted facial expression and how they conveyed Eren's at the end of the first half. Also nice Floch filler where he asks why the SC doesn't cull that titan lol.

Truly amazing. It was really refreshing to see the characters taking a break from all the gore and enjoy the moment. Great ending.

Dan Watches: Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
Alright so I did this for Episode I which you can find here and then Episode II which you can find here and then Episode III which you can find here. So here’s my weird live reaction/note taking/whatever this is.. to Episode lV.
I remember this being my favourite of the original trilogy because it sets everything up and basically kick started everything but lets see if that changes when i’ve finally got through all of these.
Also I’m just watching whatever version i can find online because I can’t be bothered to go and find my dvd of it so yeah.. whether we get weird updated version or original effects or whatever, who knows.
All the old effects like how C3p0 looks and r2d2 are impressive.
There wasn’t really anything in the opening crawl i felt like commenting on, no big THEY DID THAT IN THE OPENING? but i guess it’s the first one that came out so that makes sense.
WTF did the stormtroopers use to get that door open, that was so explosive wtf.
Also the blasters are like set to 10000 and smoke is everywhere.
How did nobody shoot the dorids?

Hi goop! Love your metas on Kill la Kill! How come there is no mention of Ryuko's dad leaving any money for her? Also why didn't he leave behind a message for Ryuko explaining well.. everything to her? Isshin didnt seem to have much of a plan in case he died before her could explain everything to her. Is it ever mentioned how Ryuko transferred to the academy in the first place? How come Isshin didn't try and rescue Satuski from Ragyo? Are you a fan of Berserk?

I’ll try to answer the best I can!
1. Kill la Kill advertises itself as having a “lightning pace,” so little details are inevitably gonna fall by the wayside.
I did write a super embarrassing old post speculating about Ryuko’s financial situation a few years ago, though. You might find a few bits of it interesting (though, again, please note that it is super old and embarrassing):
On the one hand, I personally doubt that Ryuko ever really had money issues that would stop her from at least finding some rundown place after her father died. After all, she seemed to grow up fairly well off; though she makes it clear in episode 8 that she was never rich, she also makes it clear that she wasn’t poor, either. And I mean, her dad was living in a swanky mansion and she’s shown paying for coffee in the first ending sequence, so money didn’t seem to be a problem for her when her father was alive.
But on the other hand, we might assume that Ryuko lost everything when her house burned down. While she doesn’t seem to be totally broke with how she pays for the lemon in episode 1, she also doesn’t offer any monetary compensation for the first night she stays with Mako’s family—instead, she says she’ll help Mako from her assault by the tennis club to make up for it. Later, when the family takes Ryuko in, she’s clearly not paying any rent for it and is described as a “freeloader.” You could argue that it’s just hospitality for saving Mako over and over again or because they all are fond of Ryuko and wouldn’t accept any money from her, but it’s just as easy to argue that Ryuko simply doesn’t have the means to pay them.
I guess I go with the interpretation that it’s just the Mankanshoku’s kindness, so [. . .] I wouldn’t say myself that Ryuko’s minimal wardrobe has anything to do with not being able to afford clothes—it’s just because she has other things on her mind that she values more. Who has time to worry about fashion when you’re looking for your father’s murderer? Something like pajamas are far from a necessity. I mean, I don’t have any! Neither does Gamagoori.
I also think it’s worth noting that it’s hard to say what kinda stuff Ryuko does have. Sure, Mako describes Senketsu as Ryuko’s only outfit… but that might be because he’s the only outfit she ever sees Ryuko wearing. (Aside from the pajamas, which are Mako’s old ones.) After all, Ryuko’s back in her episode 1 outfit by the OVA, and I find it a little hard to believe that she just found something totally identical. Official (?) art also shows her wearing the jacket with Senketsu, and an addition of a pink scarf and black socks, and a yellow bikini. There’s also the tracksuit from episodes 14/15 to think about—where did she get that?
Ryuko’s carrying around a pretty big guitar case at first, so I think it’s perfectly plausible that she’s keeping all sorts of supplies in there along with the scissor so that she can take care of herself [. . .] I’ve also always assumed that the soaps and shampoos you see flying up in episode 7 are purely hers.
. . . I am curious how Ryuko got by all on her own for so long. There’s this thing she says in the second Drama CD about forgetting that she’s a high school girl sometimes, and I think that’s because she had to grow up and become self-sufficient so quickly….
2. Isshin is incredibly secretive. It can be assumed that absolutely nobody knew of his true identity as Soichiro Kiryuin—and he broke his back to disguise himself! Writing a letter or leaving behind a message explaining everything to Ryuko is something that Isshin might have perceived as being too risky. Even in his letter to Aikuro that he sent before he died, he’s incredibly vague and doesn’t name anything specifically (and I honestly wonder how the heck Aikuro ever found Senketsu):
Aikuro reading Isshin’s letter: “When I die, give you-know-what to my daughter. It’s just like dead leaves in the forest,” huh?
That said, Isshin did expect to die and did at least send instructions to Aikuro so that his plan could fall into place. Things definitely didn’t go the way he would have wanted (as you can especially tell in his regretful character song “I want to know”), but he made sure that Ryuko and Senketsu would get together no matter what happened.
Also, it’s really very speculative, but I think Isshin waited until it was too late to tell Ryuko everything because he was ashamed of his actions. That also might be why he couldn’t bring himself to write a message—no good father would want to admit to what he’d done.
3. It’s never stated in the show itself, but as I wrote in my “Things About: Ryuko Matoi” post, “At Anime Expo 2014′s Kill la Kill panel (6th post from the top), it’s revealed that from what Ryuko saw of her father’s killer, she deduced that the killer had to be a high schooled student of around 17. As such, Ryuko spent six months going from high school to high school before finally getting to Honnouji Academy.”
4. I can’t say for sure why Isshin never tried to rescue Satsuki from Ragyo, but I’ve speculated about it in a couple of posts, probably most succinctly here:
. . . my main argument about Isshin is that he feels he has to distance himself from his kids in order to accomplish his goals. As I put it before, “he can’t win and be a good dad,” and, afraid of having second thoughts, he isolates himself from his daughters in order to ensure that the world gets saved. The less attached he is, the less he sees his kids’ faces, the less he lets himself love them, the “easier” it is to use them for his plot… even if so much of the information that exists about Isshin/Soichiro rather points to the idea that he wants to be a good father . . .
. . . One more thing: Isshin/Soichiro does abandon Satsuki in an environment far more terrible than the environment he abandons Ryuko in—and I’ve even argued before that Soichiro essentially considers Satsuki a “lost cause” whom can’t be saved—but actually, with further reflection, maybe what Isshin/Soichiro inflicts on Satsuki isn’t out of a lack of love or trying.
Because Satsuki? She’s not left alone. Soichiro explicitly tells Soroi to look after Satsuki when he’s gone, and Soroi then introduces Satsuki to Shiro so that she could have someone her age to play with. Satsuki’s situation is horrific, but Soichiro tries to assure she has someone looking out for her—someone who could make it so she doesn’t have to handle everything on her own.
5. Can’t say I really know anything about Berserk, except that there’s a guy named Guts and the recent series has some... less-than-stellar animation....
