One last thing bc I haven’t forgotten about Buddie. Last season Buck tried three times to perfect the damn lasagna which was kinda about his three failed relationships. And now he tried a new recipe for his lasagna which goes with his bisexuality and dating a man bc it’s new for him. He also burnt the new lasagna which can indicate that he’s with the wrong guy. Consider the fact that the lasagna is always connected to Eddie and Christopher and there are puzzle pieces coming together.

eddie really has been chasing the high school sweetheart first love feeling since shannon died. he thinks that’s the only kind of love that can be good and life changing. the only kind of love that can sweep you off your feet. god this man is gonna be in for a ride when he realizes that the all consuming, forever and always kind of love he has for buck can step over the line that keeps it safe and platonic. when eddie realizes the love of his life is still his best friend i think he might faint.

why did the show frame the way it did that eddie was cheating on buck with kim? like we never saw him on screen lie to marisol, it's implied. who he's actually lying to is Buck so that's where this is all coming to a head. Marisol is painted as irrelevant, the emotional baggage is gonna be him lying to Buck moreso then Marisol.

god yes. it’s so interesting it’s such a choice the way buck and eddie seem to be so centric in each other’s romances this season. it’s like watching them search for glasses while wearing them yknow the whole….you get so used to seeing it you don’t even realize it’s right in front of you sort of thing.

like why did they include that scene with buck and eddie and chris. like why did they include that like what did that have to do with anything whatsoever. they said btw heres some gay ppl

not this season opening with christopher being a player and cheating on his girlfriends and eddie saying he doesn't know where he got that from. brother the call is coming from inside the house!!

and when amir (or someone else related to that storyline) burns down buck's loft as revenge to get back at bobby but christopher is also with him because eddie was meeting kim again and then it's both bobby and eddie's sons in danger for something they're responsible for and the catholic guilt suffocates them and they both have to learn how to make amends and move on from the past so they can stop hurting and hurting the people around them because of their inability to move on then what

christopher is old enough for regular sleepovers and late nights hanging out with his friends but he’s still happy to hang out with buck and that just. chris is past the age of making buck hand drawn cards calling them bffs but that’s still his buck. buck is the only other adult in christopher’s life who chooses him. he’s not eddie’s son to buck. he’s christopher. buck jumped into a tsunami trying to go after him. chris ran to buck when he was upset about eddie dating ana. they held each other when eddie got shot. they go to the zoo together. they bake together. they have nights just the two of them. there’s no way chris didn’t have someone’s house he could go to, but eddie said he was gonna take him to buck’s and christopher didn’t suggest an alternative because he loves him. it’s so special. he’s out of the arts n crafts phase, maybe, but pizza and movies and buck getting tagged on christopher’s insta story next to string of emojis buck doesn’t know how to decipher but that ends in two hearts, well. that’s pretty good, too.

When you’re GAY and in love with your BISEXUAL COWORKER with whom you co-parent your SON because you willed custody to him in the event of your DEATH and your son sees him as a second PARENT and you’re CHEATING on your girlfriend with the doppelgänger of your DEAD WIFE who asked for a divorced right before she was hit by a CAR and you’re GAY

so you're telling me in an episode where a man is trying to replace his wife who left him, Eddie grapples with memories of his wife who left him and it's (re)established that the most important Trait of his wife who left him is Parent of His Child (this is emphasized by the aforementioned the Case of the Week plot). they end the episode by reminding the audience that Buck is currently the person in Eddie's life fulfilling the role of Other Parent to His Child. this of course means nothing at all.

they made us think eddie was cheating on marisol with his ex-wife’s doppelganger and then they were like no he’s just thinking about when he had sex with his ex wife. and then he proceeds to cheat on his girlfriend with said ex-wife’s doppelganger

the implication of buck feeling like he was lying to eddie vs eddie actually lying to buck

the thing about chasing shannon’s ghost, and the love that they shared and eddie lost, is that of course it comes from a place of grief. if eddie finally finds something that he truly, completely, and desperately wants and grabs it with both hands, that will be, in some way, like closing that last door on shannon. and of course we know that you don’t have to forget or leave behind the people you previously loved in order to love others, but we know how eddie does with guilt. so for now eddie is still a widower, shannon is still his dead wife. there is nothing new to definite eddie romantically.

but also… chasing shannon’s ghost, and the love that they shared and eddie lost, is safe. it’s the easy road, as crazy as that sounds. letting go of shannon’s ghost means eddie has to confront what he wants. who he wants. as long as eddie can keep reverting to “i miss shannon, i miss what we had” he doesn’t have to admit to himself or anyone else the truth of why his relationships are not working. why he doesn’t really want them to.

“i'm going out with my dead's wife's doppelgänger behind my girlfriend’s back” is a pretty damn convenient excuse for why the relationship could (will) fail. but it’s not the truth of it.

shannon’s ghost is not what’s haunting eddie. what’s haunting eddie is what hides behind shannon’s ghost: the truth about who he is, what he wants, and who he desires.
